- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode we're picking up where we
- 0:06Speaker 1: left off with the Ted Waite testimony in front of Congress. Question,
- 0:11Speaker 1: did you introduce either President Clinton or Secretary Clinton to Mr. Epstein? Answer, no. Question,
- 0:18Speaker 1: did Ms. Maxwell introduce Mr. Epstein to President Clinton? Answer,
- 0:23Speaker 1: I don't know the answer to that. Question, did she
- 0:25Speaker 1: introduce him to Secretary Clinton? Answer, I don't know. Question,
- 0:29Speaker 1: I'd like to return now specifically to Chelsea Clinton's wedding.
- 0:33Speaker 1: How would you characterize Ms. Maxwell's relationship with Chelsea Clinton? Answer, friendly. Question,
- 0:39Speaker 1: and how often did they interact? Answer, I don't know. Question,
- 0:42Speaker 1: you attended Chelsea Clinton's wedding in July 2010, correct? Answer, yeah. Question,
- 0:48Speaker 1: and Ghislaine Maxwell attended the wedding with you? Answer, yeah. Question,
- 0:53Speaker 1: and she attended the wedding with you in what capacity? Answer,
- 0:56Speaker 1: she was my girlfriend at the time. Question, as your date? Answer, yeah. Question,
- 1:00Speaker 1: did she also receive an invitation to the wedding or
- 1:03Speaker 1: was she your plus one? Answer, I don't recall how
- 1:06Speaker 1: the invitation was addressed. Question, what wedding events did you
- 1:10Speaker 1: attend on the day of Chelsea Clinton's wedding? Answer, I
- 1:13Speaker 1: don't remember. Question, I can give you some examples. For example, ceremony, reception,
- 1:19Speaker 1: any other events including cocktail hour, rehearsal dinner. What wedding
- 1:23Speaker 1: events did you attend with Ms. Maxwell on the day
- 1:26Speaker 1: of Chelsea Clinton's wedding? Answer, I recall attending the ceremony
- 1:29Speaker 1: and the events afterward. I don't recall attending something the
- 1:34Speaker 1: night before. Question, and was Ms. Maxwell with you throughout
- 1:37Speaker 1: both these events? Answer, not continuously, but I believe so. Question,
- 1:41Speaker 1: did Ms. Maxwell, or you, interact with President Clinton at
- 1:45Speaker 1: any of those wedding events? Answer, I don't recall any
- 1:49Speaker 1: specific interactions. I would assume so, but... Question, did you
- 1:53Speaker 1: and Ms. Maxwell interact with Chelsea Clinton on that wedding day? Answer,
- 1:56Speaker 1: I would assume so. It was a big, big wedding,
- 1:59Speaker 1: so I don't recall for sure. I think you would
- 2:02Speaker 1: know better than me how many people were there, but
- 2:05Speaker 1: it was a large wedding. And as you know, at weddings,
- 2:07Speaker 1: the bride is usually quite busy. Question, how did other
- 2:12Speaker 1: people attending the wedding event react to you bringing Ms.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Maxwell to the wedding? Answer, she knew people there. Answer,
- 2:18Speaker 1: did anyone seem surprised? Or question, did anyone seem surprised? Answer, no. Question,
- 2:23Speaker 1: Did you need to go through any Secret Service protocols
- 2:25Speaker 1: or procedures to go to Chelsea Clinton's wedding since her
- 2:28Speaker 1: father was President Clinton? Answer, not that I know of. Question,
- 2:32Speaker 1: did Ms. Maxwell go through any? Answer, not that I
- 2:34Speaker 1: know of. Question, in 2009, the year before Chelsea Clinton's wedding, Ms.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Maxwell had been subpoenaed to testify in a civil case
- 2:42Speaker 1: against Jeffrey Epstein, which was brought by one of his accusers.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And then months before Chelsea's wedding, Ms. Maxwell claimed she
- 2:50Speaker 1: could not appear for her deposition because because she claimed
- 2:53Speaker 1: she was out of the country for family reasons. Were
- 2:56Speaker 1: you aware that Ms. Maxwell was actively avoiding her appearance
- 2:59Speaker 1: at a deposition at the time she attended Chelsea Clinton's
- 3:02Speaker 1: wedding with you? Answer, no, not that I recall. Question,
- 3:06Speaker 1: did you ever discuss the deposition with Ms. Maxwell? Answer,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I remember it being an issue, but I don't remember
- 3:12Speaker 1: it being an issue at that time. I think it
- 3:14Speaker 1: was later. Question, can you elaborate a little bit on
- 3:17Speaker 1: what you mean by an issue? Answer, later in our relationship.
- 3:21Speaker 1: She was quite stressed about a deposition subpoena, whatever. I'm
- 3:25Speaker 1: not exactly sure what it was. There were some legal
- 3:27Speaker 1: matters going on pertaining to Mr. Epstein that she was
- 3:30Speaker 1: upset about. Mr. Spector, later in your relationship, so when
- 3:35Speaker 1: are you talking about? Mr. Waite, it would have been,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I guess it would have been, that time in 2010. Mr. Spector,
- 3:42Speaker 1: so right around the time of the wedding. Mr. Waite, yeah.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I don't know if it was before or after. Ms. Cathay,
- 3:49Speaker 1: Did you ever try to assist Ms. Maxwell with the
- 3:51Speaker 1: deposition or anything related to her being brought to court? Answer, no. Question,
- 3:55Speaker 1: you didn't pay for attorneys anywhere. Were you aware that Ms.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Maxwell was avoiding the deposition by saying she was out
- 4:01Speaker 1: of town for an extended period of time? Answer, no. Question,
- 4:06Speaker 1: do you know if she ever actually left the country
- 4:07Speaker 1: in 2010? Answer, I don't know. Question, she also claimed
- 4:11Speaker 1: that her mother was sick. Were you aware of her
- 4:13Speaker 1: mother being sick at any point in those two years? Answer,
- 4:17Speaker 1: at some point I remember her mother... but I don't
- 4:20Speaker 1: know if it was that time. Answer, I don't recall. Question,
- 4:25Speaker 1: did she often visit her family back in England? Answer, yes. Question,
- 4:28Speaker 1: about how often? Answer, once or twice a year, maybe. Question,
- 4:32Speaker 1: did you ever go with her? Answer, yes. Question, can
- 4:35Speaker 1: you recount those times? Answer, I don't know exactly what
- 4:38Speaker 1: the dates were. Question, can you describe a little bit
- 4:41Speaker 1: more about the trips that you took with her to
- 4:44Speaker 1: see your family there? Answer, I just remember going once
- 4:47Speaker 1: to meet her mother. Question, did you ever discourage her
- 4:50Speaker 1: from avoiding the deposition? Or did you ever encourage her
- 4:53Speaker 1: to go to the deposition? Answer, I don't recall that level,
- 4:57Speaker 1: that detail of conversation around that topic. Question, Glenn Maxwell
- 5:01Speaker 1: was arrested on July 2nd, 2020 and charged with, among
- 5:05Speaker 1: other things, the recruitment, the grooming, and the abuse of
- 5:08Speaker 1: underage girls and other women in the 90s and early 2000s. So,
- 5:14Speaker 1: when did you first learn that Ms. Maxwell had been arrested? Answer,
- 5:18Speaker 1: same time as everybody else, on television. Question, were you
- 5:21Speaker 1: surprised when you learned that she'd been arrested? Answer, there
- 5:24Speaker 1: had been a lot of press leading up to that,
- 5:27Speaker 1: so I don't think at that point I was surprised. Question,
- 5:30Speaker 1: what was your initial reaction when you first heard about
- 5:32Speaker 1: the rumor that she had been or had been arrested? Answer,
- 5:36Speaker 1: it was quite surreal. Mr. Spector, question, approximately when do
- 5:41Speaker 1: you think that you were aware that she was a
- 5:43Speaker 1: person of interest of some kind by law enforcement? I
- 5:47Speaker 1: assume prior to July 2nd, 2020, based on your testimony. Answer,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I believe that as the press escalated, I didn't read
- 5:54Speaker 1: a lot of it, but it was kind of unavoidable.
- 5:57Speaker 1: So it would have been after the Miami Herald article,
- 5:59Speaker 1: I think. There was a great article that exposed all
- 6:02Speaker 1: of it. So I think that was in 2018 or 2019.
- 6:04Speaker 1: And then things escalated after that. Question, so just to
- 6:09Speaker 1: be clear, your knowledge of the crime she was at
- 6:11Speaker 1: the time alleged to have committed came from the media
- 6:14Speaker 1: reports and not from any firsthand knowledge. Answer, that's correct.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Question that came from media reports? Answer, from the media.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Question by Ms. Cathay. Did you discuss the allegations with Ms.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Maxwell at any point? Answer, no. Question, did you have
- 6:29Speaker 1: any contact with Ms. Maxwell in the years the investigation
- 6:32Speaker 1: was ongoing? Answer, no. Question, did you have any contact
- 6:35Speaker 1: with her after she was arrested? Answer, no. Question, did
- 6:40Speaker 1: you assist her in any way in the criminal investigation
- 6:42Speaker 1: against her? Answer, not that I know of. Question by Mr. Spector.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Did you have any conversation with President Clinton about the crimes,
- 6:50Speaker 1: about the fact that Ms. Maxwell was under suspicion of
- 6:53Speaker 1: these crimes? Answer, not that I know of. I don't
- 6:57Speaker 1: recall any specific discussion with him about that. Question, do
- 7:00Speaker 1: any conversations in general jump out to you that you
- 7:02Speaker 1: had with other people that knew Ms. Maxwell at the time? Answer,
- 7:06Speaker 1: could you be more clear? Question, yeah. President Clinton is
- 7:09Speaker 1: a notable figure that knew Ghislaine Maxwell. Were there any
- 7:13Speaker 1: other notable individuals that knew Ms. Maxwell that you knew,
- 7:17Speaker 1: that you reached out to, or talked with about the
- 7:19Speaker 1: fact that Ms. Maxwell was under suspicion of these crimes? Answer,
- 7:24Speaker 1: I don't recall anybody specifically like a notable person talking
- 7:27Speaker 1: to them. Mr. Spector, okay. Ms. Cathay, question, I'm asking
- 7:33Speaker 1: specifically in this question about the time frame after you
- 7:36Speaker 1: broke up and then leading up to her arrest. Did
- 7:38Speaker 1: you have any suspicions about her involvement in any kind
- 7:41Speaker 1: of criminal activity? Answer, no. Question, do you have any suspicions,
- 7:45Speaker 1: based on your time dating her, that would have led
- 7:48Speaker 1: you to believe the investigation was warranted? Answer, nothing that
- 7:52Speaker 1: I can really recall. There were things around Mr. Epstein,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and she always denied any direct involvement in any of
- 7:58Speaker 1: those issues, so, you know. There was this 2008 conviction,
- 8:03Speaker 1: which we discussed, and she denied having any involvement with that. Question,
- 8:07Speaker 1: how many times did you talk about that with her?
- 8:10Speaker 1: Let me rephrase. Did you have multiple discussions with Ms.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Maxwell where she over and over denied that she was involved? Answer,
- 8:17Speaker 1: I don't recall having multiple discussions. Question, so you believed
- 8:21Speaker 1: her when she said she wasn't involved? Answer, I had
- 8:23Speaker 1: no reason not to. Ms. Cathay, I think that's a
- 8:26Speaker 1: good stopping point. We'll go off the record. For this
- 8:29Speaker 1: first hour, thank you. So they go to recess. Now
- 8:32Speaker 1: they're back. Questioning by redacted. Question, so we can go
- 8:36Speaker 1: back on the record. Good morning, Mr. Waite. My name
- 8:38Speaker 1: is Redacted. I'll be doing the majority of questioning for
- 8:42Speaker 1: the minority today. We appreciate you coming in. We appreciate
- 8:46Speaker 1: your time. As you know, today's conversation will focus on
- 8:49Speaker 1: your relationship with primarily Glenn Maxwell, as well as some
- 8:53Speaker 1: questions about Jeffrey Epstein. Some of the questions we ask
- 8:57Speaker 1: might be a little repetitive, but I'm going to do
- 8:59Speaker 1: my best to keep that to a bare minimum. So
- 9:01Speaker 1: that's what I'll strive for. Just had two quick follow-up
- 9:05Speaker 1: questions on content in previous rounds. One, with respect to
- 9:08Speaker 1: the dinner in Hong Kong, where you first met Ms. Maxwell.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Just for clarification, you were not on that trip that
- 9:15Speaker 1: President Clinton was on, is that right? Answer, no, I
- 9:18Speaker 1: was not on that trip. Question, were you already in
- 9:20Speaker 1: Hong Kong? Answer, yes. Question, business or something like that? Answer,
- 9:24Speaker 1: I was there on business. I saw the newspaper that
- 9:27Speaker 1: President Clinton was in town. Question, I understand. As you know,
- 9:31Speaker 1: when you arrived at the dinner... As far as you
- 9:33Speaker 1: can remember, did you have any knowledge of who Mr.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Epstein or Ms. Maxwell were? Answer, no. Question, one other
- 9:40Speaker 1: question with respect to the meeting you described. Kind of
- 9:44Speaker 1: one more substantive meeting with Mr. Epstein that was a
- 9:46Speaker 1: little odd. I just might not have heard it, but
- 9:50Speaker 1: was there an approximate date for that meeting? Answer, early 2004. Question,
- 9:55Speaker 1: and that meeting, that Ms. Maxwell's New York home? Answer, yup. Question,
- 10:00Speaker 1: were the three of you the only people present at
- 10:01Speaker 1: the meeting? Answer, she was not present at the meeting. Answer, oh,
- 10:05Speaker 1: just the two of you. Answer, just the two of us. Question,
- 10:09Speaker 1: got it. Okay, I think you had said, but is
- 10:11Speaker 1: that the only time that you ever had a one-on-one
- 10:14Speaker 1: with just the two of you? Answer, yes. Question, You
- 10:19Speaker 1: touched on it in the previous round. Could you try
- 10:21Speaker 1: from 30,000 feet to just describe the general arc of
- 10:24Speaker 1: your relationship with Ms. Maxwell? I know when it started.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I know when it ended. Did it sort of get
- 10:29Speaker 1: gradually more serious before it tapered off? How do you view,
- 10:33Speaker 1: in summary, the relationship? Answer, I mean, in summary, it
- 10:36Speaker 1: was like I said, started in 2004, ended in 2010.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out exactly what you're looking for. Answer, well,
- 10:43Speaker 1: you know, you talked about at a point of the
- 10:45Speaker 1: separation that not having perceived a realistic probability of marriage? Answer, yeah. Question,
- 10:51Speaker 1: was that always your perception? Or was there a point
- 10:54Speaker 1: halfway through when you thought maybe this is heading for marriage?
- 10:57Speaker 1: How did that unfold? Answer, yeah. Again, from the beginning
- 11:01Speaker 1: of the relationship, I was very clear that I was
- 11:03Speaker 1: not going to marry her. I was going through a divorce.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I wasn't looking to get married at any time soon.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I had four children. That was my big priority. I
- 11:12Speaker 1: would say that the relationship was kind of. I don't
- 11:14Speaker 1: want to call it on and off again because I
- 11:17Speaker 1: was with my kids a lot of the time. So
- 11:19Speaker 1: every other week I had them full custody and then
- 11:22Speaker 1: she would be off doing her thing. Question. And when
- 11:25Speaker 1: you first met, when you first started dating Ms. Maxwell,
- 11:28Speaker 1: let's say your understanding of her relationship with Mr. Epstein
- 11:31Speaker 1: certainly is that they were no longer romantically connected. Is
- 11:34Speaker 1: that correct? Answer. Yes. Question. And you understood she worked
- 11:38Speaker 1: for Mr. Epstein. Answer. Yes. Question, and that was your understanding.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I think you touched on it, but your understanding of
- 11:45Speaker 1: exactly what she did for Mr. Epstein when you first
- 11:48Speaker 1: started dating her. Answer, something an estate or property manager type.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Question is various physical properties. Answer, yes. All right, folks,
- 11:56Speaker 1: we're going to wrap up right here. And in the
- 11:58Speaker 1: next episode dealing with the topic, we're going to pick
- 12:00Speaker 1: up where we left off. All the information that goes
- 12:02Speaker 1: with this episode can be found in the description box.
- 12:06Speaker 1: What's up, everyone? And welcome to another episode of the
- 12:08Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to get right
- 12:12Speaker 1: back to Ted Waite and his conversation with Congress. Question.
- 12:20Speaker 1: And what was your understanding? I think you touched on it,
- 12:22Speaker 1: but your understanding of what exactly she did for Mr.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Epstein when you and she first started dating. Answer something,
- 12:29Speaker 1: estate or property manager type. Question is various physical properties.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Answer yes. Question, did Ms. Maxwell, to the best of
- 12:36Speaker 1: your recollection, ever mention massage before? in the context of
- 12:40Speaker 1: her working for Mr. Epstein? Answer, not that I can recall. Question,
- 12:44Speaker 1: did Ms. Maxwell ever mention arranging for Mr. Epstein to
- 12:47Speaker 1: meet or hire girls or young women? Answer, excuse me? Question,
- 12:52Speaker 1: did Ms. Maxwell ever mention in her work for Mr. Epstein,
- 12:55Speaker 1: helping him, meaning Mr. Epstein, hire or meet girls or
- 12:58Speaker 1: young women in any capacity? Answer, not that I can recall.
- 13:02Speaker 1: In any capacity, yeah, not that I can recall. Question,
- 13:06Speaker 1: did Ms. Maxwell ever discuss Mr. Epstein's sexual or or
- 13:09Speaker 1: romantic life in any way? Answer, only as it related
- 13:13Speaker 1: to their past. Question, not at all as it related
- 13:15Speaker 1: to other women, is that right? Answer, not that I
- 13:18Speaker 1: can recall. Question, did Ms. Maxwell never express concern that
- 13:22Speaker 1: any of Mr. Epstein's activities, any of Mr. Epstein's activities,
- 13:26Speaker 1: may have been criminal or ethically problematic? Answer, not that
- 13:29Speaker 1: I can recall. Question, I imagine the answer to this
- 13:33Speaker 1: is probably yes. Did Ms. Maxwell ever discuss her own
- 13:36Speaker 1: past romantic relationship with Mr. Epstein? Answer, yes. Question, what
- 13:42Speaker 1: was the general nature of how she characterized their previous relationship? Answer, boyfriend-girlfriend. Question,
- 13:48Speaker 1: never more serious than that, as far as you remember? Answer,
- 13:52Speaker 1: I believe it was a serious relationship. Question, did she
- 13:55Speaker 1: ever describe the reason for their breakup? Answer, she described
- 13:58Speaker 1: it at one point. It was on her 40th birthday.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I think they broke up with her at that point. Question,
- 14:04Speaker 1: did she have a perspective that you can recall as
- 14:07Speaker 1: to the reason for the breakup? Or what Mr. Epstein
- 14:09Speaker 1: said the reason for the breakup was? Answer, yeah. I mean,
- 14:13Speaker 1: I believe she mentioned, you know, that she was getting
- 14:15Speaker 1: too old for him. Question, do you recall, and this
- 14:18Speaker 1: is going back a little bit, but do you recall
- 14:20Speaker 1: whether from her point of view, if she was hurt
- 14:22Speaker 1: by that, unsurprised by that, said that's perfectly in line
- 14:26Speaker 1: with what I know about Jeffrey? Do you know anything
- 14:29Speaker 1: about her reaction to that? Answer, I would be guessing,
- 14:32Speaker 1: but I would assume she was hurt by that. Question,
- 14:36Speaker 1: no specific recollection of anything she might have said or
- 14:39Speaker 1: how specifically she reacted in conversations with you? Answer, nothing
- 14:43Speaker 1: I can specifically recall. Question, did Ms. Maxwell ever express
- 14:46Speaker 1: concern that her own actions with respect to Mr. Epstein
- 14:50Speaker 1: may have been criminal or ethically problematic? Answer, not that
- 14:53Speaker 1: I can recall. Question, did Ms. Maxwell ever say that
- 14:57Speaker 1: she had engaged in sexual activity with Mr. Epstein and
- 15:00Speaker 1: other women? Answer, not that I can recall. Question you described,
- 15:04Speaker 1: I think in general terms, the nature of your relationship
- 15:07Speaker 1: with Mr. Epstein over the course of your relationship with Ms. Maxwell.
- 15:12Speaker 1: And that was not very much. It sounds like we
- 15:15Speaker 1: described maybe three interactions that you can recall. Is that
- 15:18Speaker 1: ballpark fair? Answer, yeah, three or four. Question, and one
- 15:22Speaker 1: of those was one-on-one, and that's the meeting we previously discussed. Answer, yes. Question,
- 15:29Speaker 1: what do you recall about the nature of the other
- 15:31Speaker 1: two or three? Answer, so they're just brief encounters, like
- 15:35Speaker 1: on the street, or one was in New York, and
- 15:38Speaker 1: one was in St. Bart's. Question, does the dinner in
- 15:40Speaker 1: Hong Kong, is that being counted as one of these
- 15:42Speaker 1: two or three? Answer, yes, one of those four, four
- 15:46Speaker 1: that I can recall. Question, okay, what was the St.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Bart's interaction? Answer, I was literally walking down the street. Question,
- 15:53Speaker 1: in town? Answer, in town. Question, what did you generally
- 15:56Speaker 1: know or believe, if anything, about Epstein's personal life? Answer,
- 16:01Speaker 1: not much. Question, did you know or hear at all
- 16:04Speaker 1: about whether he was dating? Answer, on the two occasions
- 16:08Speaker 1: that I ran into him, he had someone who I
- 16:10Speaker 1: assumed was a girlfriend with him. It was the same
- 16:12Speaker 1: female each time. Question, I'm sorry, the two were in St. Barts.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And what was the other? Answer, New York. Question, New York.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Got it. Can you describe anything? Can you recall about
- 16:24Speaker 1: that person? Answer, she looked like a model type. Appeared
- 16:27Speaker 1: to be in her lower 20s. Eastern European, I believe. Question,
- 16:31Speaker 1: and did Mr. Epstein introduce you to her? Answer, I
- 16:34Speaker 1: think so. I think Ms. Maxwell knew her and knew
- 16:37Speaker 1: her name. I don't recall her name. Question, what allows
- 16:40Speaker 1: you to recall that she was Eastern European? Answer, I
- 16:43Speaker 1: heard her accent, I think. Question, did Mr. Epstein ever
- 16:46Speaker 1: talk to you about his dating or social life? Answer, no. Question,
- 16:51Speaker 1: did you ever spend time with Epstein or any of
- 16:53Speaker 1: his girlfriends or romantic interests? Let's say apart from the
- 16:57Speaker 1: two interactions that you just described. Answer, no. Question. Did
- 17:01Speaker 1: you ever have any concerns about Ms. Maxwell's work for
- 17:05Speaker 1: or association with Mr. Epstein? Let's say apart from the
- 17:09Speaker 1: general issue of him being her ex-boyfriend. Answer. No, that
- 17:13Speaker 1: was the primary one. He did seem to have significant
- 17:16Speaker 1: influence over her. She did always kind of look up
- 17:19Speaker 1: to him and I was not comfortable with that. Question.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Did you say she, it was your perception that she
- 17:26Speaker 1: did kind of look up to him? Is that right? Answer. Yes. Question.
- 17:30Speaker 1: If you can recall other examples or general sort of energy,
- 17:34Speaker 1: what gave you that perception? Answer, comments that she made. Question,
- 17:39Speaker 1: you may not remember in a photographic sense, but could
- 17:42Speaker 1: you give me just a general sense of what an
- 17:44Speaker 1: example comment might be? Answer, his financial acumen, investing expertise. Question,
- 17:52Speaker 1: and do you have a perception as to whether that,
- 17:55Speaker 1: because she wasn't the only one, I think that felt
- 17:57Speaker 1: that way about him? Did you have a perspective, given
- 17:59Speaker 1: your background and professional accomplishments, as to whether the reputation
- 18:03Speaker 1: was warranted or not? Answer, no. Question, no perspective at all. Answer,
- 18:09Speaker 1: it always seemed a little suspect to me. Question, what
- 18:11Speaker 1: would give you that impression? Answer, you know, the type
- 18:14Speaker 1: of financial returns he was supposed to generate were kind of...
- 18:18Speaker 1: Miss Callan jumps in, impossible. Mr. Waite, yeah. I mean,
- 18:22Speaker 1: I wouldn't say impossible, but unheard of, I guess, you know.
- 18:25Speaker 1: And then when I looked at his assets... Most of
- 18:27Speaker 1: them seem to come from Mr. Wexner. He gets cut
- 18:31Speaker 1: off by somebody asking a question, redacted. Question, yeah, what
- 18:35Speaker 1: was your impression of what Mr. Epstein did for a living? Answer,
- 18:39Speaker 1: that he managed money for other people for a small
- 18:41Speaker 1: list of select clients. That's what was described to me. Question,
- 18:46Speaker 1: was it your understanding that Les Wexner was some sort
- 18:48Speaker 1: of primary or the main client? Answer, at one point, yeah. Question,
- 18:53Speaker 1: did Ms. Maxwell ever talk about Mr. Epstein's relationship? with Mr. Wexner? Answer, yes. Question,
- 19:00Speaker 1: do you remember the general nature of that? As Ms.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Maxwell described it, whether from a personal relationship point of view,
- 19:07Speaker 1: business relationship, or how did she characterize it? Answer, when
- 19:12Speaker 1: they were dating, I think they spent a lot of
- 19:13Speaker 1: time in Ohio with Mr. Wexner and his wife. Question,
- 19:17Speaker 1: did she ever describe anything related to her time in
- 19:20Speaker 1: Ohio or her knowledge of Mr. Epstein's time in Ohio?
- 19:24Speaker 1: That raised any kind of ethical or criminal concerns? Answer, no,
- 19:28Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question, I think we've had at
- 19:31Speaker 1: least one, maybe a couple members join, if they could
- 19:34Speaker 1: identify themselves. Mr. Walkinshaw from Virginia's 11th District. James Comer, Chairman,
- 19:40Speaker 1: House Oversight Committee, Kentucky. Question, prior to becoming public knowledge,
- 19:45Speaker 1: did you have any direct or indirect knowledge of the
- 19:48Speaker 1: sexual abuse that Jeffrey Epstein was committing? against minors and
- 19:51Speaker 1: young women? Answer, no. Question, prior to it becoming public knowledge,
- 19:56Speaker 1: did you have any direct or indirect knowledge of the
- 19:58Speaker 1: sexual abuse that Ghislaine Maxwell was facilitating and committing against
- 20:02Speaker 1: minors and young women? Answer, no. Question, did you ever
- 20:06Speaker 1: engage in sexual activity with someone who was introduced to
- 20:09Speaker 1: you by Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Answer no. Question,
- 20:14Speaker 1: I want to get a little bit more specific. And
- 20:17Speaker 1: that is, for example, one plaintiff in 2017 alleged that
- 20:21Speaker 1: she was abused by Epstein between October of 2006 and
- 20:24Speaker 1: April of 2007, and that somewhere in that date range, Ms.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Maxwell coerced her into sexual compliance. She alleges she once
- 20:33Speaker 1: tried to escape the Epstein Island after she was verbally
- 20:36Speaker 1: abused and threatened by Ms. Maxwell, among others. That would
- 20:39Speaker 1: be in the range of when Ms. Maxwell and you
- 20:41Speaker 1: were dating. So to be very clear, you never had
- 20:44Speaker 1: any knowledge of the allegations that I just described? Answer, no,
- 20:49Speaker 1: but I find those very upsetting. Question, did Ms. Maxwell
- 20:52Speaker 1: go to Mr. Epstein's Island a lot while you were dating? Answer,
- 20:55Speaker 1: not that I can recall. Question, can you recall any
- 20:58Speaker 1: instance of Ms. Maxwell going to Epstein's Island while you
- 21:01Speaker 1: were dating? Answer, no, I don't recall any instance where
- 21:05Speaker 1: she went to the island. Question in 2021, in its
- 21:09Speaker 1: indictment against Ms. Maxwell, the Department of Justice claimed that Ms.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Maxwell assisted, facilitated, contributed to Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of minor
- 21:18Speaker 1: girls by, among other things, helping Epstein to recruit, groom,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and ultimately abuse victims known to Maxwell and Epstein to
- 21:26Speaker 1: be under the age of 18. The victims were as
- 21:30Speaker 1: young as 14 years old when they were groomed and
- 21:32Speaker 1: abused by Maxwell and Epstein, both of whom knew that
- 21:36Speaker 1: certain victims were, in fact, under the age of 18.
- 21:39Speaker 1: So again, for crystal clarity, you had no knowledge of
- 21:43Speaker 1: abuse of any kind by Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell
- 21:47Speaker 1: during the time that you were in a relationship with Ms. Maxwell? Answer,
- 21:51Speaker 1: that is correct. Question, I think we've had another member join,
- 21:55Speaker 1: if they could just identify themselves for the record. Congressman
- 21:59Speaker 1: Suhas Submaranium. Question, if you recall, at what point, Did
- 22:04Speaker 1: you become aware that Mr. Epstein had been arrested for
- 22:07Speaker 1: solicitation of prostitution? Answer, I don't recall exactly when I
- 22:11Speaker 1: became aware of that. Question, if we say that occurred
- 22:15Speaker 1: in July of 2006, would you estimate that you learned
- 22:18Speaker 1: about it maybe within a couple weeks of it happening?
- 22:21Speaker 1: Or was this something that not until years later did
- 22:24Speaker 1: somebody reveal it to you? Answer, it was probably months,
- 22:27Speaker 1: months later. It was when he was serving his sentence. Question, okay,
- 22:33Speaker 1: so that would not have occurred until at least a
- 22:35Speaker 1: couple years later? Answer, okay. Question, so to the best
- 22:38Speaker 1: of your recollection, is that for at least that in
- 22:41Speaker 1: between time, between the arrest and the sentence, you were
- 22:44Speaker 1: not informed and were not aware? Answer, no, I was
- 22:48Speaker 1: not aware. Question for his arrest in mid-2006, let's say
- 22:52Speaker 1: to the best of your memory, what would you recall
- 22:55Speaker 1: about Ms. Maxwell's relationship with Epstein at that point? Was
- 22:58Speaker 1: she still working for him? Was it beginning to taper off? Answer,
- 23:02Speaker 1: I believe her work relationship with him by 2006 would
- 23:06Speaker 1: have been minimal from what she had told me. Question,
- 23:09Speaker 1: do you recall roughly at what point you would have
- 23:11Speaker 1: become aware that Epstein had pled guilty to solicitation and
- 23:15Speaker 1: solicitation of a minor? So that happened in June of 2008.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Would you estimate that you learned about that pretty quickly
- 23:22Speaker 1: after it happened? Or was it also a pretty big lag? Answer, yeah,
- 23:26Speaker 1: I'm not exactly sure when he was serving the time.
- 23:29Speaker 1: when he was on that work release program, but that's
- 23:31Speaker 1: when it was happening. That was when I first remember
- 23:34Speaker 1: learning about that. And I don't know if I ever
- 23:37Speaker 1: get or even knew the specific charges. Ms. Maxwell always
- 23:41Speaker 1: downplayed that fairly significantly. Question, did you have any recollection
- 23:46Speaker 1: of maybe the first time Ms. Maxwell sort of, I
- 23:48Speaker 1: assume it was Ms. Maxwell, would have been the one
- 23:51Speaker 1: to inform you about Mr. Epstein's legal trouble? Is that right? Answer, yes. Question,
- 23:56Speaker 1: do you have any recollection of that first time? that
- 23:59Speaker 1: she would have broached the topic with you? Answer, no. Sorry,
- 24:02Speaker 1: I don't. Do you have any recollection of the general
- 24:05Speaker 1: nature of how she described Mr. Epstein's troubles? I mean,
- 24:08Speaker 1: you mentioned it. Seemed like she downplayed them. Can you
- 24:11Speaker 1: just elaborate on that a little bit? Answer, yeah. Again,
- 24:14Speaker 1: I don't specifically recall what she would have said. You know,
- 24:18Speaker 1: I think she said that there was a plea agreement.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I don't remember the exact details, but you know, that
- 24:23Speaker 1: he got some work release situation, probably because it wasn't
- 24:26Speaker 1: that serious, kind of. that kind of way she portrayed it. Question,
- 24:30Speaker 1: did she ever describe the possible or definite involvement of
- 24:34Speaker 1: minors in Epstein's legal troubles? Answer, not that I can recall. Question,
- 24:39Speaker 1: and his plea included a charge of solicitation of a
- 24:42Speaker 1: minor specifically. Did she, as far as you remember, did
- 24:46Speaker 1: she ever mention that? Answer, not that I can recall. Question,
- 24:50Speaker 1: and it sounds like you never became aware of that
- 24:52Speaker 1: through the newspaper or any kind of public source. Answer, no.
- 24:56Speaker 1: I don't recall there being a lot of press around
- 24:57Speaker 1: that at the time. Apparently there was some, but I
- 25:00Speaker 1: don't remember seeing anything in the press about it. Question,
- 25:03Speaker 1: and your either personal or business circles, other associations of yours,
- 25:08Speaker 1: they weren't such that you would have been kind of
- 25:10Speaker 1: word of mouth. Hey, did you hear what happened to Jeffrey?
- 25:13Speaker 1: Nothing like that ever occurred? Answer, no, I don't recall
- 25:16Speaker 1: that happening. Question, and looking back, is that not surprising
- 25:21Speaker 1: to you? In other words, was Mr. Epstein really not
- 25:23Speaker 1: somebody that you or your associates would be commenting on? Answer, yeah.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I didn't spend a lot of time with him, so
- 25:30Speaker 1: it wasn't. And neither did a lot of people that
- 25:32Speaker 1: I hung out with. All right, folks, we're going to
- 25:35Speaker 1: wrap up right there. And in the next episode dealing
- 25:37Speaker 1: with the topic, we're going to pick up where we
- 25:39Speaker 1: left off. All the information that goes with this episode
- 25:42Speaker 1: can be found in the description box. What's up, everyone?
- 25:45Speaker 1: And welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In
- 25:49Speaker 1: this episode, we're getting right back to the Ted Waite
- 25:52Speaker 1: testimony that he gave to Congress. Mr. Sklodany, you lived
- 25:58Speaker 1: in California at that point, right? Answer, yeah. Question, bi-redacted.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I've got some detailed questions about his incarceration. I'll just
- 26:06Speaker 1: run through them. Were you aware of the Florida Science Foundation? Answer, no. Question,
- 26:11Speaker 1: were you aware? And if so, what was your knowledge
- 26:13Speaker 1: of Mr. Epstein's work release agreement? Answer, I was told
- 26:17Speaker 1: by Ms. Maxwell. that he was allowed to go to
- 26:19Speaker 1: his office during the day and then report back to
- 26:22Speaker 1: a facility where he spent the night. Question, did Ms.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Maxwell ever characterize that? Like, you know, Jeffrey can't believe
- 26:29Speaker 1: he got this amazing deal, anything of that nature? Answer,
- 26:32Speaker 1: I wouldn't say it was that way. It was more like, yeah,
- 26:35Speaker 1: he had a good deal. I wouldn't say, you know,
- 26:38Speaker 1: it was more like he did it than he got
- 26:40Speaker 1: an amazing deal, like he had arranged it. I think
- 26:43Speaker 1: that's the way she put it, rather than he got
- 26:45Speaker 1: an amazing deal from someone else. Question, Jeffrey successfully arranged
- 26:49Speaker 1: this great deal for himself? Answer, it was a deal.
- 26:53Speaker 1: I wouldn't say it was a great deal, it was
- 26:54Speaker 1: a deal, yeah. It seemed a little unusual to me.
- 26:57Speaker 1: But again, I wish I would have done more research
- 27:00Speaker 1: on it at the time, but I didn't. Question, was
- 27:03Speaker 1: there any tension, let's just say, at the time, for
- 27:06Speaker 1: now between if Ms. Maxwell was presenting Epstein's charges and
- 27:10Speaker 1: his situation as sort of downplaying it? It's not that serious.
- 27:14Speaker 1: but also being pretty happy, Jeffrey, being pretty happy with
- 27:18Speaker 1: the way the deal worked out. Was there any tension
- 27:20Speaker 1: in those? Did you ever say to yourself, wait a second,
- 27:23Speaker 1: you know, is this a serious thing or is it not? Answer, well,
- 27:29Speaker 1: I clearly didn't want her affiliating with him and I
- 27:31Speaker 1: didn't want to affiliate with him and I had no
- 27:33Speaker 1: affiliation with him myself. So I think I probably would
- 27:36Speaker 1: have pushed more in that direction. Question, to your knowledge,
- 27:40Speaker 1: did Ms. Maxwell ever visit Epstein while he was incarcerated?
- 27:44Speaker 1: Or on work release? Answer, not to my knowledge. Question,
- 27:48Speaker 1: did you ever visit Epstein in his office while he
- 27:50Speaker 1: was on work release? Answer, no. Question, we have another
- 27:54Speaker 1: member who joined, if they could just identify themselves. Congresswoman,
- 27:59Speaker 1: Nancy Mace, South Carolina. Question, did Ms. Maxwell ever mention
- 28:03Speaker 1: Virginia Roberts? Answer, not that I can recall. Question, Ms. Maxwell,
- 28:08Speaker 1: we've touched on the sort of separation of Ms. Maxwell
- 28:11Speaker 1: from Mr. Epstein over the course of your relationship with her.
- 28:14Speaker 1: We've also touched on your breakup with Ms. Maxwell. Ms.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Maxwell told the DOJ last year that the reason for
- 28:21Speaker 1: your breakup was that in 2009, a lawyer named Scott
- 28:24Speaker 1: Rothstein tried to blackmail you by asking for $ 10 million
- 28:28Speaker 1: in exchange for dropping Ms. Maxwell from a series of
- 28:31Speaker 1: civil suits. From your recollection, did that happen? Answer, no. Question,
- 28:36Speaker 1: is there a version of that that happened to the
- 28:38Speaker 1: best of your recollection? In other words, did you have
- 28:41Speaker 1: any interaction with Mr. Rothstein? Answer, Mr. Rothstein presented a
- 28:46Speaker 1: financial proposal to a friend of mine at the time
- 28:49Speaker 1: named AJ Descala. He presented that proposal to an associate
- 28:52Speaker 1: of mine, somebody who worked for me. I saw the
- 28:55Speaker 1: details of that proposal and thought it was a total
- 28:57Speaker 1: scam and just didn't think it was a worthwhile investment. Question,
- 29:02Speaker 1: what was the proposal in summary that you recall? Question,
- 29:05Speaker 1: in summary, as I recall, it had to do with
- 29:08Speaker 1: something to do with sexual harassment lawsuits, not sexual assault
- 29:11Speaker 1: or sex trafficking or sexual harassment. and they were doing
- 29:14Speaker 1: something with lawsuits to pay off people early, and were
- 29:18Speaker 1: going to more money later, and they wanted money to
- 29:21Speaker 1: do it in the beginning. It just seemed like a
- 29:24Speaker 1: terrible idea to me, so, question, and was the approach
- 29:28Speaker 1: to your associate, was it related to you in any way?
- 29:30Speaker 1: In other words, as Rothstein, asking middleman to ask you,
- 29:34Speaker 1: or was it just between Rothstein and the associate? Answer, well, yeah,
- 29:39Speaker 1: they were asking me for money because I have money.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Neither one of them had money and they both are
- 29:43Speaker 1: in jail now. So question, did the proposal have any
- 29:47Speaker 1: connection to Ms. Maxwell? Answer, I don't recall it being
- 29:51Speaker 1: specific to Ms. Maxwell as well. Question, so do you
- 29:54Speaker 1: have any recollection of Mr. Rothstein communicating anything at all
- 29:57Speaker 1: specifically related to Ms. Maxwell? either to you or indirectly,
- 30:01Speaker 1: to your associate? Answer, yeah, I do believe her name
- 30:04Speaker 1: came up, but I don't think it was in the
- 30:06Speaker 1: context of any of those sexual lawsuits. It was never
- 30:10Speaker 1: tied to that, to Epstein's crimes, or a lawsuit involving
- 30:12Speaker 1: Epstein's crimes. I believe Epstein was a Palm Beach lawyer,
- 30:17Speaker 1: so I thought it was more to do with Palm Beach,
- 30:20Speaker 1: but I don't believe Epstein's name ever came up. Question,
- 30:23Speaker 1: but with respect to Ms. Maxwell, what's your recollection of
- 30:27Speaker 1: the context in which her name came in? Answer, I
- 30:29Speaker 1: don't recall specifically. Frankly, I reviewed that document in preparation
- 30:33Speaker 1: for this that I mentioned that her name came up,
- 30:36Speaker 1: but I don't remember in what context it came up,
- 30:39Speaker 1: but it wasn't in relation to the lawsuits, at least
- 30:41Speaker 1: as I recall, so I don't remember how it came up. Question,
- 30:45Speaker 1: just trying to envision it for us, would there be
- 30:48Speaker 1: some other context in which a name would come up
- 30:51Speaker 1: from Mr. Rothstein other than in relation to the financial
- 30:54Speaker 1: proposal that he was making? Answer, he might have known her,
- 30:58Speaker 1: I don't know. He was a fairly prominent figure, I
- 31:01Speaker 1: think for a time, in Palm Beach. Question, it may
- 31:05Speaker 1: have been something as simple as, hey, I saw Ghislaine
- 31:07Speaker 1: at the supermarket last week. Answer, I don't know. I
- 31:10Speaker 1: don't know. Question, but sitting here today, is it right
- 31:14Speaker 1: that you have no specific recollection of Ms. Maxwell's name,
- 31:18Speaker 1: having any connection to Mr. Rothstein's financial proposal? Answer, am
- 31:22Speaker 1: I supposed to answer that, yes or no? Question, do you?
- 31:25Speaker 1: Cut some off. Answer, I do not recall her name.
- 31:28Speaker 1: having anything to do with specific financial proposals that they
- 31:31Speaker 1: gave me. Question, thank you. And it's right that you
- 31:34Speaker 1: rejected the proposal? Answer, yes. Question, to the best of
- 31:40Speaker 1: your recollection, did the proposal have any connection at all
- 31:43Speaker 1: to your breakup with Ms. Maxwell? Answer, no. Question, do
- 31:47Speaker 1: you happen to know whether Rothstein ever ended up filing
- 31:50Speaker 1: whatever suits he said he was going to file? Answer,
- 31:52Speaker 1: I don't know. Question, Our understanding is that you made
- 31:56Speaker 1: a series of payments to Ms. Maxwell over the years,
- 31:59Speaker 1: and we would like to have a better understanding of
- 32:01Speaker 1: those payments, so I'm going to introduce Minority Exhibit A. Question.
- 32:06Speaker 1: The only entry that has any relevance to you is
- 32:09Speaker 1: maybe two-thirds of the way down. So, this is an
- 32:12Speaker 1: account statement, it looks like, from the upper left-hand corner
- 32:15Speaker 1: for 116 East 65th Street, LLC, which was Maxwell's home
- 32:20Speaker 1: address at the time. The monthly statement is for May 2008.
- 32:25Speaker 1: And partway down the page, the statement appears to show
- 32:28Speaker 1: a $ 30, 000 transfer from you to this account. There are
- 32:32Speaker 1: similar $ 30, 000 payments on a monthly basis through at least
- 32:35Speaker 1: April of 2010. So we estimate it might be around $ 720, 000
- 32:41Speaker 1: in total. Just to start, do you recall what these
- 32:44Speaker 1: payments were for? Answer, these were monthly payments I made
- 32:48Speaker 1: for what I felt was my share of her and
- 32:50Speaker 1: to help with her expenses of her staff and house.
- 32:53Speaker 1: I had maintained an office in the residence at East
- 32:56Speaker 1: 65th Street. I had clothes there. I spent time there.
- 32:58Speaker 1: And I was just providing financial support because I was
- 33:01Speaker 1: using it so I felt it was the right thing
- 33:03Speaker 1: to do. Question. How did that idea first come about?
- 33:07Speaker 1: Did you spontaneously suggest it to her? Or was it
- 33:09Speaker 1: her idea? Answer. I don't recall specifically how it came about. Question.
- 33:15Speaker 1: And was the support meant to be specifically linked to
- 33:17Speaker 1: expenses related to the residence? Answer. Yeah, mostly staff. Question.
- 33:23Speaker 1: How much staff did she have? Answer. There were two
- 33:26Speaker 1: full-time staff, a driver and a housekeeper. I think at
- 33:29Speaker 1: one point they were going to leave or something. I
- 33:31Speaker 1: can't remember, but that was mostly what it was. And
- 33:34Speaker 1: I used the driver myself and I wanted to contribute. Question.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Was it your understanding that Ms. Maxwell probably was not
- 33:42Speaker 1: able to cover the totality of those expenses on her own? Answer.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I was never privy to Ms. Maxwell's financial affairs, but
- 33:49Speaker 1: I think she appreciated the assistance. Question. It sounds like
- 33:54Speaker 1: you have maybe some memory that the two staffers were
- 33:58Speaker 1: threatening to leave at some point. Is that right? Answer, yeah.
- 34:01Speaker 1: I don't recall the specifics around it, though. Question, do
- 34:04Speaker 1: you recall some connection between them threatening to leave and
- 34:07Speaker 1: the beginning of this arrangement? Answer, I vaguely recall that. Again,
- 34:11Speaker 1: I might be mixing things up, but I think there
- 34:13Speaker 1: was something around the staff I wanted to pay my share.
- 34:16Speaker 1: And I think that continued until that $ 30, 000 continued until
- 34:20Speaker 1: we broke up. Question, do you recall why these payments
- 34:23Speaker 1: were made to the LLC and not just to her personally? Answer,
- 34:27Speaker 1: I assumed I'm speculating, but I assume this is where
- 34:30Speaker 1: she wanted them to go, and I assume this went
- 34:32Speaker 1: into property and paid expenses for the house. It's not
- 34:35Speaker 1: an atypical for somebody who owns a property to have
- 34:38Speaker 1: a title in an LLC and run the expenses through that. Question,
- 34:43Speaker 1: our understanding is that this LLC was controlled by Darren Indyke,
- 34:47Speaker 1: who was Mr. Epstein's lawyer. Do you recall being aware
- 34:49Speaker 1: of that at the time? Answer, no. Question, do you
- 34:53Speaker 1: recall knowing who Mr. Indyke was or having any interactions
- 34:56Speaker 1: with him? Answer, I don't recall having interactions with him. Answer,
- 35:02Speaker 1: I remember hearing the name Darren quite frequently as someone Ms.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Maxwell interfaced with. Question, what would be the context of
- 35:09Speaker 1: why Ms. Maxwell would be interfacing with Darren as she
- 35:12Speaker 1: described it? Answer, again, I don't recall. Mostly just business transactions. Question,
- 35:19Speaker 1: would that have been at the period of time when Ms. Maxwell...
- 35:21Speaker 1: was really substantially working for Epstein, and not after she
- 35:25Speaker 1: started to taper off? Because this is 2008, I think
- 35:30Speaker 1: we had said that at this point, Maxwell wasn't really
- 35:33Speaker 1: working for Epstein. Is that right? Answer, I don't believe so.
- 35:38Speaker 1: But I think that she still had a relationship, and
- 35:40Speaker 1: used maybe some of the legal services of his office. Question,
- 35:44Speaker 1: can you elaborate on that a little bit? What was
- 35:46Speaker 1: your understanding to which Ms. Maxwell continued to have interactions
- 35:50Speaker 1: or business with with Mr. Epstein's staff, after she stopped
- 35:54Speaker 1: working for him? Ms. Callan, so I think several times
- 35:57Speaker 1: today he's testified his understanding was that she was minimizing
- 36:00Speaker 1: her work for Mr. Epstein over time, but he doesn't
- 36:03Speaker 1: know the specifics. Question, no problem, but the specific idea
- 36:08Speaker 1: that Ms. Maxwell may have been utilizing, let's say, Mr.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Epstein's legal services, I think that's a little bit beyond
- 36:14Speaker 1: what I think I at least previously understood. So could
- 36:17Speaker 1: you just elaborate on what you remember about that? Answer again.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I wasn't privy to the specific details of her working
- 36:24Speaker 1: relationship with Mr. Epstein or any of his entities. All
- 36:28Speaker 1: I do know, I remember hearing the name Darren and
- 36:31Speaker 1: her talking to him on frequent occasions. I think throughout
- 36:34Speaker 1: the relationship, I don't know if they were like friends or,
- 36:36Speaker 1: you know, if they worked together. And she was asking
- 36:39Speaker 1: his advice. There was a lot of interaction. You want
- 36:42Speaker 1: the details of that interaction? I don't really know. Question,
- 36:46Speaker 1: and do you recall that interaction sort of staying constant,
- 36:49Speaker 1: even as Ms. Maxwell... Other work started to wind down
- 36:52Speaker 1: for Mr. Epstein? Answer, I can't recall the frequency of
- 36:55Speaker 1: how it was, but I recall it being somewhat consistent. Question,
- 37:00Speaker 1: do you recall any other folks on Mr. Epstein's staff
- 37:03Speaker 1: whose name you sort of heard? With maybe a similar
- 37:06Speaker 1: degree of frequency, whether that's the accountant as opposed to
- 37:09Speaker 1: the lawyer or anybody else from the Epstein team that Ms.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Maxwell seemed to interact with a fair amount? Answer, the
- 37:16Speaker 1: person I remember, she was a pilot. And she interacted,
- 37:19Speaker 1: I think, quite a bit with his pilot. But I
- 37:22Speaker 1: just assumed that was like pilots talking to pilots, that
- 37:25Speaker 1: type of thing. Question, Ms. Maxwell wasn't a pilot though, right? Answer, Ms.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Maxwell was a pilot, a helicopter pilot. Answer, I did
- 37:33Speaker 1: not know that. Okay. And I understand the natural assumption of, hey,
- 37:37Speaker 1: pilot the pilot. But what, if anything, is your recollection
- 37:41Speaker 1: of either the extent to which Ms. Maxwell communicated with Mr.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Epstein's pilot, and if so, what they communicated about? Answer,
- 37:49Speaker 1: I don't know. I wasn't privy to those conversations. Question, Mr.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Epstein had a pretty substantially sized staff. Was there anybody
- 37:57Speaker 1: else from his world that you could recall Ms. Maxwell
- 38:00Speaker 1: having a consistent communication with? Answer, nobody that I can
- 38:04Speaker 1: think of. Question, and as far as you know, did
- 38:09Speaker 1: these $ 30, 000 payments have any connection to Mr. Epstein or Mr.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Epstein's legal trouble around the time? Answer, no. Question, I
- 38:18Speaker 1: think that's a fine time to transition to maybe some
- 38:20Speaker 1: members that may have some questions that they would like
- 38:23Speaker 1: to ask. All right, folks, we're going to wrap up
- 38:25Speaker 1: right here. And in the next episode dealing with the topic,
- 38:27Speaker 1: we're going to pick up where we left off. All
- 38:30Speaker 1: the information that goes with this episode can be found
- 38:33Speaker 1: in the description box. What's up, everyone? And welcome to
- 38:36Speaker 1: another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're
- 38:40Speaker 1: going to pick up where we left off with Ted
- 38:42Speaker 1: Waite and his conversation with Congress. Now it's Mr. Walkinshaw
- 38:48Speaker 1: doing the questioning. Question. Thank you, Mr. Waite. What was
- 38:52Speaker 1: your understanding of the relationship between President Trump and Epstein
- 38:55Speaker 1: while you were dating Maxwell? Did you have any understanding
- 38:59Speaker 1: of the relationship between Epstein and Trump? Mr. Waite, no. Walkinshaw,
- 39:04Speaker 1: what was your understanding of the relationship between Trump and
- 39:07Speaker 1: Maxwell at the time you and Ms. Maxwell were dating?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Did you ever discuss it? Answer. Not that I can recall. question,
- 39:15Speaker 1: so never throughout your relationship you can't remember her mentioning
- 39:19Speaker 1: at all any interaction she might have had with President Trump? Answer, no,
- 39:23Speaker 1: because I mean he wasn't president then. Walkinshaw, Donald Trump
- 39:27Speaker 1: at the time? Answer, yeah, I don't remember any discussions. Question,
- 39:33Speaker 1: and no discussion of her or Epstein's opinion of Donald
- 39:36Speaker 1: Trump at the time? Answer, not that I can recall. Question,
- 39:39Speaker 1: I think that's all the questions I have, thank you. Ms. Subranium,
- 39:43Speaker 1: thank you to answer both of my questions, but just
- 39:46Speaker 1: to clarify, You are not aware of any of Ms.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Maxwell's interactions with young girls while you were dating her,
- 39:51Speaker 1: is that correct? Answer, no. Summaranium, and what did she
- 39:55Speaker 1: say she was doing with Jeffrey Epstein at the time
- 39:58Speaker 1: you were dating her? Answer, she described her role as
- 40:01Speaker 1: estate manager, property management. Question, did you ever visit any
- 40:06Speaker 1: of those properties yourself? Answer, no. Question, and what did
- 40:10Speaker 1: you think estate management meant? Answer, typically hiring the housekeepers,
- 40:15Speaker 1: the chefs, the drivers, working on decor, maintenance. Submarinium, and
- 40:19Speaker 1: did you ever visit Jeffrey Epstein's island? Wait, no. Submarinium,
- 40:23Speaker 1: did you ever fly on his plane? Wait, no. Submarinium,
- 40:26Speaker 1: did she ever bring up any details about estate management
- 40:29Speaker 1: during the course of the relationship or talk about her
- 40:32Speaker 1: work with Jeffrey Epstein with you? Answer, she never got
- 40:36Speaker 1: into specifics with me. Question, so you were dating her,
- 40:40Speaker 1: but she never really talked about her work with Jeffrey Epstein. Answer,
- 40:44Speaker 1: she was, at least what she told me, she was
- 40:47Speaker 1: minimizing and ramping out of, you know, the job with Mr. Epstein.
- 40:50Speaker 1: She talked a lot about other businesses that she was
- 40:53Speaker 1: investing in or other activities that she was doing, but
- 40:56Speaker 1: not a lot about it. I don't recall any specific
- 40:59Speaker 1: details about what she was doing for Mr. Epstein. Question,
- 41:03Speaker 1: since you're here, there's rumors out there that some form
- 41:06Speaker 1: of extortion, some people were wondering, were you ever told
- 41:10Speaker 1: to give 10 million in exchange for information? or will
- 41:13Speaker 1: you offer $ 10 million in exchange for withholding information on
- 41:16Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell's involvement with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer, no. Question, okay,
- 41:22Speaker 1: thank you, that's all I have. Redacted, thank you. She
- 41:24Speaker 1: said I can sneak in with some questions. Redacted, so
- 41:28Speaker 1: I'm going to pick up along the same theme that
- 41:30Speaker 1: we were just discussing. I would like to introduce Minority
- 41:33Speaker 1: Exhibit B. Question, one page again. I'll give you a
- 41:37Speaker 1: moment to look it over. Question, so this is a
- 41:40Speaker 1: similar account statement. for October 2008. It appears to be Ms.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Maxwell's personal account rather than the LLC we described previously.
- 41:49Speaker 1: And there's a payment part way down. Looks like an
- 41:51Speaker 1: October 23rd that appears to you from yourself for just
- 41:55Speaker 1: under three grand. This was the only transfer during that
- 41:58Speaker 1: time period that didn't match the $ 30, 000 number. We wanted
- 42:02Speaker 1: to just ask you whether you recall what this payment
- 42:05Speaker 1: was for. Answer, I do not. Question, do you have
- 42:09Speaker 1: any recollection of the distinction between Between at least the
- 42:12Speaker 1: payment going to a personal account versus the others going
- 42:15Speaker 1: to the LLC? Answer, no. Question, you can put that
- 42:19Speaker 1: one away. I'll introduce minority exhibit C. Question, have you
- 42:23Speaker 1: had a chance to look it over? Answer, yes. Question, great.
- 42:28Speaker 1: So this is an account statement from Ms. Maxwell's personal account.
- 42:31Speaker 1: September of 2010. And it looks like on September of 24th,
- 42:35Speaker 1: there was a transfer from you for around $ 7. 2 million.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Quite a bit larger than the other payments we looked at.
- 42:42Speaker 1: What was this payment for? Answer. This would have been
- 42:45Speaker 1: at the end of our relationship. Question. And what was
- 42:48Speaker 1: the nature or reason for the payment? Answer. Ms. Maxwell
- 42:52Speaker 1: was devastated by our breakup. I just felt it was
- 42:55Speaker 1: the right thing to do. Not uncommon for people in
- 42:57Speaker 1: my situation to do that. It was we lived a
- 43:00Speaker 1: fairly extravagant life. In hindsight, if I had to do
- 43:03Speaker 1: it over again, I wouldn't have done it. Question. Was
- 43:06Speaker 1: the payment intended to go toward her living expenses? Answer, yes. Question,
- 43:11Speaker 1: did the payment have any connection to her legal trouble
- 43:13Speaker 1: of any kind? Answer, no. Question, and did the payment
- 43:17Speaker 1: have any connection to the legal troubles of Mr. Epstein
- 43:20Speaker 1: of any kind? Answer, no. Question, all right. I'll introduce
- 43:24Speaker 1: Minority Exhibit D. Question, I'll give you a moment to
- 43:28Speaker 1: look it over. It's three pages, but all you need
- 43:30Speaker 1: to focus on is the first page. So this is
- 43:34Speaker 1: an FBI tip sheet from an anonymous caller in July
- 43:37Speaker 1: of 2020. And we can see on the first page,
- 43:39Speaker 1: towards the bottom, the caller says that the FBI should
- 43:42Speaker 1: speak with you specifically, and Maxwell was the one in
- 43:45Speaker 1: charge of getting the girls, and Waite was there, and
- 43:49Speaker 1: knows what was going on. Just to start with, do
- 43:51Speaker 1: you have any idea who this caller may have been? Answer, no. Question,
- 43:56Speaker 1: do you have any sense of why the caller would
- 43:58Speaker 1: have said this about you? Answer, no. Question, and to reiterate,
- 44:02Speaker 1: do you have any knowledge of any role Ms. Maxwell
- 44:06Speaker 1: may have had in getting girls or young women for
- 44:08Speaker 1: sexual activity with Mr. Epstein? Answer, no. Question, I'll introduce
- 44:13Speaker 1: Minority Exhibit E. Mr. Scaldani, just with respect to Exhibit E,
- 44:17Speaker 1: did the FBI ever contact you? Mr. Wade, no. Question,
- 44:21Speaker 1: I'll give you a moment to look that over as well.
- 44:24Speaker 1: There's only a little bit of content specifically related to
- 44:27Speaker 1: you at the very end of the document, but you're
- 44:30Speaker 1: welcome to look the whole thing over. Ms. Callan, yeah,
- 44:33Speaker 1: I just want to note, for the record, that this
- 44:35Speaker 1: is an FBI document, not any communication between Mr. Waite
- 44:39Speaker 1: and anyone that we've discussed today. Question, I would have
- 44:43Speaker 1: described it that way myself anyway. Scaldani, is there any
- 44:46Speaker 1: particular place we should focus our attention? Answer, yeah, there
- 44:50Speaker 1: is just a little bit, as I said at the
- 44:52Speaker 1: very back, that relates to your client, but you're welcome
- 44:55Speaker 1: to look at the whole thing, other if you'd like to. Scaldani,
- 44:58Speaker 1: thank you. Question, So this is an FBI intake form,
- 45:02Speaker 1: summarizing outreach from somebody named Peter Nomincos. And Mr. Nomincos
- 45:08Speaker 1: called the FBI National Threat Operation Center in July of
- 45:11Speaker 1: 2020 to report information about Ms. Maxwell. Do you recognize
- 45:15Speaker 1: the name Peter Nomincos? Answer, no. Question, have you ever
- 45:20Speaker 1: met or interacted with, as far as you know, somebody
- 45:22Speaker 1: by that name? Answer, not that I can recall. Question, no. So,
- 45:27Speaker 1: towards over the course of the document, Mr. Namikos says,
- 45:31Speaker 1: pardon me, he said that, towards the end, the owner
- 45:34Speaker 1: of Gateway Computer, Ted Waite, and Jeffrey Epstein were in
- 45:37Speaker 1: some sort of relationship beyond friendship. At this time, and
- 45:40Speaker 1: from context, the time he is describing is around 2012.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Do you have any idea why Mr. Namikos might have
- 45:47Speaker 1: meant by a relationship beyond friendship? Answer, no. I can
- 45:52Speaker 1: just assume we both had a relationship with her at
- 45:54Speaker 1: some point in the past. question, and I think Mr.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Nomico's claim was that you were in some kind of
- 45:59Speaker 1: relationship beyond friendship with Epstein. Question, Jeffrey Epstein. Callan, yeah,
- 46:05Speaker 1: I think he misunderstood the question. Wait, oh. Callan, I
- 46:08Speaker 1: think your question is, did Mr. Waite and Jeffrey Epstein
- 46:11Speaker 1: have a relationship beyond friendship? And the answer to that
- 46:15Speaker 1: is no. Not even friendship, to be clear. Question, you're correct.
- 46:19Speaker 1: That's my question, and I would have happily clarified that
- 46:21Speaker 1: for your client. So the claim, I think, from Mr.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Nomikos was that yourself and Mr. Epstein had some kind
- 46:28Speaker 1: of relationship beyond friendship. Do you have any idea why Mr.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Nomikos would have said that? Answer, no. Ms. Callan, do
- 46:35Speaker 1: we even know? Gets cut off by Ted Waite. That's
- 46:37Speaker 1: not the way I read it, but yeah. Callan, and
- 46:40Speaker 1: do we even know that this person is a real person?
- 46:43Speaker 1: Because this is just someone who called the FBI. Redacted,
- 46:47Speaker 1: I don't think I described it as anything more than that. Callan, okay. Question,
- 46:52Speaker 1: How would you have characterized your relationship with Mr. Epstein
- 46:54Speaker 1: in 2012? Answer, that there was no relationship. Mr. Scaldani,
- 47:00Speaker 1: for the sake of thoroughness, did the FBI ever contact
- 47:03Speaker 1: you in response to this? Answer, no. Question, all right.
- 47:06Speaker 1: I'll introduce Minority Exhibit F. Question by redacted, this is
- 47:11Speaker 1: a short document. I will give you just a moment
- 47:14Speaker 1: to look it over. So this is an email chain
- 47:16Speaker 1: from October of 2004 between yourself and Ms. Maxwell. The
- 47:20Speaker 1: subject is WG, Wicked Ghislaine. Ms. Maxwell first says, forgot
- 47:25Speaker 1: to mention what price I exacted for my car and
- 47:28Speaker 1: funding of the three 18-year-olds trip. You replied, do tell
- 47:31Speaker 1: you naughty girl. More importantly, do you recall what this
- 47:35Speaker 1: email chain related to? Answer no. Question, do you recall
- 47:40Speaker 1: having any understanding of who the three 18-year-olds were? Answer no. Question,
- 47:44Speaker 1: do you recall whether Ms. Maxwell had a lot of
- 47:47Speaker 1: interactions with 18-year-olds that you would have been aware of Answer, no,
- 47:51Speaker 1: other than like kid friend, friends, kids, children or something. Question, yes,
- 47:57Speaker 1: so given that context and looking at this email, I
- 47:59Speaker 1: understand sitting here now. Do you have any sense of
- 48:02Speaker 1: what she might have been relating to with the three
- 48:04Speaker 1: 18-year-olds trip? Answer, no, sorry. Question, I'll introduce Minority Exhibit G. Question,
- 48:12Speaker 1: so this is an email chain between yourself and Ms.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Maxwell in April of 2004. It looks like context is
- 48:18Speaker 1: describing planning for some kind of trip. If I could
- 48:21Speaker 1: just direct you to the top of the second page,
- 48:24Speaker 1: so the last four digits at the bottom corner would
- 48:26Speaker 1: be 9059. And if you look at the top of that,
- 48:30Speaker 1: that's the email from Ms. Maxwell that reads, massage is
- 48:33Speaker 1: booked for four in the hotel room, not a hotel masseuse.
- 48:37Speaker 1: So I'll ask you in a literal sense, did you
- 48:41Speaker 1: ever receive a massage from somebody who was introduced to
- 48:43Speaker 1: you or arranged by Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Answer,
- 48:48Speaker 1: I assume a therapeutic or a sports massage. Question, do
- 48:52Speaker 1: you have any recollection in this example? What sort of
- 48:55Speaker 1: massage that would be in relation to? Answer, I don't
- 48:58Speaker 1: recall for sure. I think this email looks like I
- 49:00Speaker 1: was playing in a golf tournament and I always had
- 49:03Speaker 1: back trouble. So it could have been, you know, for
- 49:05Speaker 1: my back. Question, and do you have any recollection of
- 49:08Speaker 1: that kind of massage having been arranged by Ms. Maxwell
- 49:11Speaker 1: other than looking at this email? Do you have any
- 49:14Speaker 1: specific recollection of that having been something that happened more
- 49:18Speaker 1: than once? Or is it just looking at this email
- 49:20Speaker 1: you believe that this time that occurred? Answer, just looking
- 49:24Speaker 1: at this email, I typically get weekly therapeutic massages. Question,
- 49:29Speaker 1: and do you have any recollection of this particular massage
- 49:32Speaker 1: or who the masseuse was? Answer, no. Question, do you
- 49:35Speaker 1: have any sense? either recalling back to then or sitting
- 49:38Speaker 1: here now, of the phrase, not a hotel masseuse, and
- 49:42Speaker 1: what that might mean? Answer, I assume that there were,
- 49:45Speaker 1: that there were better quality or sports oriented. Question, did
- 49:49Speaker 1: you understand Ms. Maxwell to have any kind of specific
- 49:51Speaker 1: expertise related to massages? Did she ever talk about massages
- 49:55Speaker 1: or say, hey, I know an awful lot about masseuses,
- 49:59Speaker 1: if you ever want me to arrange one? Answer, I
- 50:02Speaker 1: remember one time she stretched, like stretch me, and was
- 50:05Speaker 1: quite good at that. but it was like, you know,
- 50:07Speaker 1: I don't recall her talking about being a massage expert,
- 50:10Speaker 1: you know, question. And did you ever agree in sexual
- 50:14Speaker 1: activity with someone who gave you a massage and was
- 50:18Speaker 1: introduced to you by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell? Answer,
- 50:22Speaker 1: absolutely not, question. I think that is a good time
- 50:26Speaker 1: to off the record. All right, folks, we're going to
- 50:28Speaker 1: wrap up right here as well. All the information that
- 50:31Speaker 1: goes with this episode can be found in the description box.
