- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's. Adam here.
- 0:41And in today's episode of The Hypnotist, you're going to be
- 0:45listening to a hypnosis session to facilitate a client really
- 0:52making a big life decision, but feeling empowered to do that.
- 0:58And this particular client was relocating to a different part
- 1:01of the world and really had made the conclusion that where they
- 1:07were living wasn't serving them anymore.
- 1:10They knew what part of the world they wanted to go to, but at the
- 1:14same time, there was a feeling of risk.
- 1:17And that risk was what if they don't really feel like they
- 1:20belong? And what if they don't really
- 1:22build the kind of connections that they would want to to fill
- 1:25the part of some kind of community?
- 1:28And that's why really in this session there is a real emphasis
- 1:33on this essence of belonging and.
- 1:38You get this. Very strange dynamic that
- 1:41sometimes in small towns and let's say more rural
- 1:47communities, there is more community even though there's
- 1:50less people. And you get this very strange
- 1:52dynamic where you can be in a huge city and feel lonely
- 1:57because although the people are there, the connections aren't.
- 2:01And people tend to be a bit more wary in big cities.
- 2:04And this particular client I was working with was living probably
- 2:07one of the world's biggest cities, and they were moving
- 2:09away from that city. So it was highly likely that
- 2:12there was going to be more of a sense of of opportunity to build
- 2:16new connections, find that community.
- 2:19But of course it's. Natural to project where you are
- 2:23into the future and to expect similarities.
- 2:28So there is an element here of trusting that there is this
- 2:31going to be belonging in this next kind of step for them.
- 2:35But at the same time that they're able to make
- 2:37evaluations, they're able to do the things that increase the
- 2:42probability and make decisions to spend more time with people
- 2:46they like and less time with people they don't.
- 2:48And knowing that any decision isn't for life.
- 2:52You know, I think if anyone moved to a part of the world and
- 2:56they had one shot, you know, if they moved there, they've got to
- 3:00spend the rest of their life in that one town, that one city,
- 3:03that one region. That would sound risky, but
- 3:07that's not the case, you know? And if you wanted to move
- 3:11somewhere and you do move somewhere and it isn't quite
- 3:14what you had in mind, you're going to learn so much
- 3:17information from that place that that would influence what
- 3:21changes. And if it's better by 80%, not
- 3:24100%, you've got more information to make a new
- 3:28decision that gets you closer to that place.
- 3:32So I would say the way in which you can get the most value from
- 3:35this session is either how can you feel more of a sense of
- 3:41belonging where you are or what can you do to strengthen certain
- 3:45kind of social or community connections with people that
- 3:50think the same way or are interested in the same kind of
- 3:52things that you are. And I would say that there is a
- 3:55pandemic of loneliness taking place in the world.
- 3:58So if at some point you are feeling lonely, then I think you
- 4:01will get some value from this either by taking yourself out of
- 4:06your situation and and moving to somewhere else.
- 4:09And that doesn't have to be moving house.
- 4:10That could be changing what you do with your spare time or how
- 4:14you, you know, how you interact with other people.
- 4:17But doing things that increase the probability of that
- 4:21connection of that community, of that sense of belonging.
- 4:24Of course, this was created for an individual.
- 4:26Some of the suggestions aren't going to be right for you, some
- 4:28of the references won't even make sense.
- 4:30So if you do feel like a bespoke session would be helpful, check
- 4:34out the link in the show notes and book that free consultation
- 4:37call and we'll have a chat. Because it might be that instead
- 4:40of you listening to the audio I've created for other people,
- 4:43you actually experience a live hypnotherapy session with me,
- 4:46entirely calibrated to your situation and what your goals
- 4:49are. So if that appeals, check out
- 4:50that link and we'll have a chat soon.
- 4:52For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:55won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:21Take a deep breath in and as you breathe in.
- 5:29Feel like you're. Breathing in a wonderful feeling
- 5:31of calm and relaxation and as you exhale, just allow your.
- 5:39Eyelids to close. And as they.
- 5:43Close. Position your body in a way that
- 5:47would enable you to enhance deep levels of relaxation.
- 5:56As you breathe in relaxation, scan your body for clues of
- 5:59tension, maybe around your jaw, your forehead or neck and
- 6:08shoulders, and you get a deep sense that tension is just an
- 6:17echo, an echo of the past when the tension was useful.
- 6:25But as you breathe out, you're releasing that echo, so the
- 6:30tension just gets to feel like it's leaving your body, like a
- 6:35deflating balloon. Allow your breathing to get
- 6:41deeper and longer as you inhale and exhale, but also getting a
- 6:49sense that your body's doing the breathing for you, breathing in
- 6:57deeper, exhaling for longer. Because most of what you do is
- 7:06unconscious. You don't know how many times
- 7:11you blink a day because your unconscious is doing the
- 7:15blinking. And you don't know how many
- 7:21heartbeats take place every hour because your body is beating
- 7:28your heart and most of the time you don't think about breathing
- 7:34at all. Your body is doing the breathing
- 7:38for you, so allow your body to do the breathing.
- 7:44Just be open to it, breathing in deeper and exhaling for longer.
- 7:51And with each outward breath, fearless sense of release,
- 7:59releasing stress, releasing tension, and releasing any
- 8:05worries. Just feel that they're being
- 8:10released, either in your outward breath or just evaporating or
- 8:20dissipating into nothingness as you breathe in and breathe down.
- 8:30I want you to hold on to the thought of a concept, noticing
- 8:37whatever comes up for you. When I say the word
- 8:42timelessness. You could imagine something
- 8:48that's been around for millions of years.
- 8:56There is a particular rock somewhere in the world that
- 9:01looks the same now as it did 1000 years before and 10,000
- 9:09years before that, as you get a sense that certain things are
- 9:20timeless, certain things just have always been and will always
- 9:33be. I want you to get a sense then,
- 9:41thousands of years ago, humans figured out they were safer and
- 9:49stronger when they congregated into communities.
- 9:59That a human that was a lone wolf just by themselves like at
- 10:02Herman living in the woods was more vulnerable, more at risk,
- 10:09more in danger. Originally it was just
- 10:14settlements and tribes and it became villages and towns and
- 10:20even cities. Humans are social animals that
- 10:28found themself seeking out similar communities.
- 10:37Imagine going back in time and seeing certain communities that
- 10:43were undesirable, perhaps in England, and they decided that
- 10:55they didn't want to change their values, their beliefs, their
- 11:00ideas, they just needed to go to a place where those would be
- 11:06welcomed and accepted. Imagine being on one of those
- 11:14early ships, travelling to a new world, a New England.
- 11:23That was a. Square pig in a round hole in
- 11:27one place became a square pig in a square hole in a new place.
- 11:37Sometimes the optimal strategy is to not change who you are,
- 11:44but to change where you are. Throughout history, people that
- 11:52felt out of place in one place found the courage to find a new
- 11:59place where they would be welcome.
- 12:09I want you to get a sense of where you think your place is,
- 12:17That knowing everything about your life, your values, your
- 12:25world, your experiences, your needs, Where does it feel like
- 12:37that place would be for you? And just imagine a map zooming
- 12:47in to a place on that map, to a place that feels like it could
- 12:53be the right place for you, but feel like you're turning up your
- 13:03ability to trust your intuition. Almost like it's a dial.
- 13:09If the trust is low, turn it all the way up.
- 13:15Because your unconscious knows your wants, your needs, your
- 13:21likes, your dislikes. And given that your unconscious
- 13:28knows that you can trust your intuition, that it will give you
- 13:35clues. When you're in the right place,
- 13:39you'll feel peace, joy, a sense of belonging.
- 13:44And when you're in the wrong place, you will feel a sense of
- 13:51being an outsider. You'll get a sense of feeling
- 13:56unsettled, unwelcome. So as you dial up the trust in
- 14:02that intuition, feel a wonderful sense, then there isn't that
- 14:09much you need to do anymore because your intuition will do
- 14:14the heavy lifting. All you need to do is to test
- 14:20rather than guess, spend time in certain places, have
- 14:25conversations with certain people, and allow your intuition
- 14:30to do all of the work. Logical decisions and emotional
- 14:39decisions work hand in hand. You've done the logical work,
- 14:47now it's time for the emotional work, and your unconscious is
- 14:54better placed to do that than your conscious mind.
- 14:58All you need to do is to gravitate towards certain
- 15:04environments that tick a few boxes of things that you already
- 15:09know you desire. Your unconscious will let you
- 15:14know if this is closer or further away to that ideal place
- 15:21for you. I want you to create an image in
- 15:30your mind of a farmer with a big bag of seeds.
- 15:40And I want you to imagine the farmer initially starts sowing
- 15:46those seeds on rock solid, not even soil.
- 15:54Just like hard clay. The seeds can't even take root,
- 15:59and even if they did, there'd be no nutrition there.
- 16:03I want you to get a sense that those seeds are unlikely to grow
- 16:09and then the farmer goes to a field that's never been
- 16:13ploughed, filled with grass and other plants start sowing the
- 16:20seeds there, but there's already roots competing for the same
- 16:24soil. I want you to get a sense that
- 16:28something may grow, but not a lot.
- 16:33And then finally the farmer goes to a plowed field of fertile
- 16:40soil, start sowing the seeds on that soil that is optimal for
- 16:49those seeds to take root. And intuitively you know that
- 16:55nothing will grow on the hard clay, and little will grow in
- 17:03the unplowed soil, and lots will grow in the fertile ploughed
- 17:11soil. I want you to get a sense then
- 17:18the right place for you will be like fertile soil.
- 17:25Or a conversation could easily turn into a friendship, and a
- 17:31place where you go to once or twice can feel like a friendly,
- 17:37welcoming place that you can come back to again and again.
- 17:43The right environment will feel like seeds in fertile soil, but
- 17:51not much has to be done to give a lot back.
- 17:57Whereas the wrong place will feel that you have to put so
- 18:02much effort in to get so little back.
- 18:07To feel that you're planting a seed in the fertile soil of your
- 18:11unconscious mind and that seed is a challenge.
- 18:18A challenge to your unconscious mind to find the right
- 18:23combination of environment and the fertile soil of social and
- 18:32connection. But when you spend time in a
- 18:37place, the right place will keep playing on your mind, giving you
- 18:44reasons why it's a good place for you.
- 18:49And the wrong place will feel ambivalent, distant, easily
- 18:58forgettable. I want you to imagine a possible
- 19:07place that you think might be your place.
- 19:09Imagine walking down the streets and looking for smiles and eye
- 19:18contact, friendliness. I want you to have a sense.
- 19:26Then the right place will welcome you even as a stranger.
- 19:34But the only way you'll know for sure is to embrace being a
- 19:40stranger in a new environment, with a willingness to make that
- 19:50strange place a home. I want you to get a sense that
- 19:56you already feel like you're several stepping stones across a
- 20:01river, not quite on the other side, but certainly not on the
- 20:09riverbank where you started. There's been too much progress,
- 20:14too many decisions, too many thoughts.
- 20:19Congratulate yourself on how far you've already come.
- 20:24And be willing to take that next step without knowing for sure if
- 20:30it's the right step for you, but trusting that your intuition
- 20:35will increase the probability that it is the right step for
- 20:41you. Because this intention to find
- 20:47the right place is now awakening a detection system, a radar
- 20:54within your unconscious mind. So without even trying, your
- 21:01unconscious will be noticing and looking for things to steer you
- 21:07towards the right place and steer you away from the wrong
- 21:12place. Before we leave this place, I
- 21:20want you to imagine gazing into the future, seeing yourself like
- 21:27you're someone else, living a happy, joyful, fulfilled life
- 21:36full of connection in the right place.
- 21:41And you can tell that because of the smiles, the lightness, sense
- 21:51of belonging, that you can just read on them.
- 21:56And if you get a sense that you can see that future, future
- 22:01where you're on the other side of the riverbank, let me know by
- 22:05nodding your head. And now it's time to return to
- 22:10the present. But take that supercharged,
- 22:14amplified intuition with you, an intuition that you can trust.
- 22:20So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 22:25nose. Wiggle your fingers and wiggle
- 22:28your toes and get a sense that the right place will feel
- 22:32timeless for you. 123 Waking up. 456 More alert. 7-8 Open your
- 22:43eyes. Open your eyes. 910 wide awake,
- 22:47wide awake, wide awake. Thank you for listening to The
