- 0:50Speaker 5: I'm into brother, I'm trying to find this charger down there.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, if you got to charge
- 0:55Speaker 3: something at seven oh one, you need to check.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Your life because one, you didn't prepare properly or too
- 1:01Speaker 4: you're just on that thing too much.
- 1:03Speaker 5: No, it's not that, not that you know. I always
- 1:05Speaker 5: got this wire plugged into it, but I didn't look
- 1:08Speaker 5: at what the wire this wire was played into down here.
- 1:11Speaker 5: It's a lot of wires down here.
- 1:12Speaker 4: It's probably now, Taylor, if you plug that one into
- 1:14Speaker 4: your computer, he can see what you're looking at, so
- 1:16Speaker 4: just be careful.
- 1:17Speaker 5: Well, yeah, that's what I'm saying, that this is played
- 1:19Speaker 5: in Taylor can check it out.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Yeah, is he is he watching cycling?
- 1:23Speaker 6: No he's he's not connected, or no he was earlier.
- 1:26Speaker 5: I'm connected right now. Then it might not be, but
- 1:29Speaker 5: I've watched the cycling on my iPad. No one's getting
- 1:32Speaker 5: in this, nobody's hacking into this one.
- 1:33Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:34Speaker 4: He does bring multiple devices. Uh, Jake, Flannelandro Tata all
- 1:38Speaker 4: here with you. And yes it is Friday. This week
- 1:43Speaker 4: actually felt quick, so I do like finally Friday, this
- 1:46Speaker 4: was a quick week. We got a lot of exciting
- 1:48Speaker 4: stuff on the horizon. We got media days, Tata laid
- 1:52Speaker 4: it out, Lsu gets a big commit But before we
- 1:55Speaker 4: get there, how's everybody doing?
- 1:56Speaker 3: How we live?
- 1:57Speaker 4: And I know Flynn's all fired up because people are
- 2:00Speaker 4: and bikes in France.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm doing great. Thank you for that intro. Ready
- 2:06Speaker 5: for the weekend, Ready to get a little R and
- 2:08Speaker 5: R before I guess next week starts next week. I
- 2:11Speaker 5: don't you know still, I've heard all the warnings, got
- 2:15Speaker 5: everybody's opinions, know kind of what to expect, but I
- 2:18Speaker 5: really still I don't think you know exactly what kind
- 2:21Speaker 5: of hornet says you're about to jump into till you
- 2:23Speaker 5: actually do it. I'm excited I've kept like thinking all
- 2:27Speaker 5: week that I'm gonna have this opportunity, like every day
- 2:29Speaker 5: to just shave off a couple hours to dive into
- 2:33Speaker 5: some film of some random SC teams and players. Yeah,
- 2:36Speaker 5: really crunch the stats so I really know what I'm
- 2:39Speaker 5: talking about when I meet these people face to face
- 2:41Speaker 5: and I have to ask them questions. But we hadn't
- 2:44Speaker 5: had a chance, not yet, So this is gonna be
- 2:46Speaker 5: a cram weekend for me.
- 2:49Speaker 3: I work better under pressure. See here's the problem with that.
- 2:53Speaker 4: You've had the opportunity when but you've used your opportunity
- 2:58Speaker 4: to watch Grown Man in Spandex right up a mountain.
- 3:03Speaker 5: I only watched that while I'm here m and usually
- 3:08Speaker 5: not even like paying attention unless we're.
- 3:10Speaker 3: At the break. I don't know.
- 3:12Speaker 4: You give me a lot of names with a lot
- 3:13Speaker 4: of syllables and just keep on going.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Todd A lost the yellow jersey about second, Yes, one second, Quinn.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Now Quinn came in second though, really valiant effort, but
- 3:26Speaker 5: he couldn't win. He couldn't he couldn't overcome and catch
- 3:29Speaker 5: Ben Healey the Irishman.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Do we get points for being seconds?
- 3:35Speaker 5: But it's a good showing you don't get nothing for
- 3:38Speaker 5: being s I don't know. Actually they probably get some
- 3:40Speaker 5: sort of bonus.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I don't I don't know. If you don't know, I
- 3:42Speaker 3: share as held.
- 3:42Speaker 5: On second in a stage. I mean, nobody remembers who
- 3:45Speaker 5: came at second in.
- 3:46Speaker 7: The stage, but I'll always remember Quinn Simmons came second.
- 3:48Speaker 6: In the stage.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Stage six twenty five.
- 3:54Speaker 5: Remember, remember Quinn told you what yesterday was a big deal?
- 4:01Speaker 5: You know it's a big deal for him. Obviously would
- 4:02Speaker 5: have been a way bigger deal if you want. But
- 4:05Speaker 5: Stilly had that beautiful flow, a beautiful mustache, riding up
- 4:09Speaker 5: the mountains.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Olandra, how are we doing?
- 4:13Speaker 7: Doing good?
- 4:14Speaker 8: Ready for the weekend. I don't think I'm getting into anything.
- 4:17Speaker 8: But again I told y'all on Monday, trying to get
- 4:20Speaker 8: my life together, So maybe I'll try to do that again.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and you put in gas into your car.
- 4:27Speaker 7: With your car on, and I didn't blow.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Up, and you are still here to tell the story.
- 4:32Speaker 7: I survived it.
- 4:33Speaker 8: I don't know if I'm gonna keep doing that just
- 4:35Speaker 8: because it makes me a little nervous, but I didn't
- 4:39Speaker 8: turn it off.
- 4:39Speaker 5: Based on the way you asked her that question. All right,
- 4:43Speaker 5: have you been trying to get her to do that.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Are you like.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Not me all?
- 4:50Speaker 1: But leave their car off?
- 4:51Speaker 6: I don't, Bob.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Store, I don't know.
- 4:57Speaker 7: I'm in te Bob. Leave their car on.
- 5:00Speaker 5: You're supposed to turn that off. But like right or wrong,
- 5:02Speaker 5: I've always like heard or known that, like for regular gas,
- 5:06Speaker 5: turn it off, for a diesel, you can leave it on.
- 5:09Speaker 5: I don't know if that's I don't know who told
- 5:10Speaker 5: me that, but I believe that for a long time.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I don't know, but I got a diesel.
- 5:16Speaker 3: I'm still here.
- 5:17Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm still here. I survived the pumping gas. There
- 5:21Speaker 7: was my Volkswagen really badass.
- 5:23Speaker 3: You got a diesel, not a big deal.
- 5:25Speaker 7: There used to have a diesel. It was a Jetta,
- 5:27Speaker 7: but it was diesel.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Matter.
- 5:28Speaker 7: You didn't say what In Europe diesel lasted forever.
- 5:33Speaker 5: So sorry. There was this one time in college I
- 5:37Speaker 5: was at I was at a gas station filling up.
- 5:40Speaker 5: You know, I had they have the signs like don't
- 5:41Speaker 5: use your cell phone around the Yeah, I'm always thought
- 5:44Speaker 5: like why, like is the cell phone ringing gonna like
- 5:46Speaker 5: make everything explode? Well, there was this one time in
- 5:50Speaker 5: college I was using my cell phone near the pump
- 5:54Speaker 5: and I was talking. I can't remember who I was
- 5:56Speaker 5: talking to and talking blah blah blah. I feel up.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I'm talking, get in my car, drive off. Well I
- 6:04Speaker 5: forgot to take the the hose out of the car. Yeah,
- 6:07Speaker 5: and it just classic, it just ripped off the top. Yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 5: what did you do? And I was like, well, did
- 6:12Speaker 5: you did you?
- 6:13Speaker 4: Did you go in you retrieve and be like say, hey,
- 6:16Speaker 4: we got problem here.
- 6:17Speaker 5: I went and I asked the young lady who was
- 6:21Speaker 5: working like the registers, and she didn't. She wasn't like
- 6:26Speaker 5: real thrilled. I wasn't impressed, and I just was. I
- 6:30Speaker 5: was trying to, like, you know, chum it up with her,
- 6:32Speaker 5: make her laugh a little bit, like, yeah, this was unfortunate.
- 6:34Speaker 5: Didn't mean to do this, blah blah blah. And I
- 6:36Speaker 5: was like, yeah, I was just on my phone.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I got in.
- 6:38Speaker 5: She's like, well, that's why the sign says don't use
- 6:40Speaker 5: your phone near the near the pump. You get distracted,
- 6:44Speaker 5: get distracted or distracted. I don't know if she really
- 6:46Speaker 5: knew the scientific reason, but feels like it feels like
- 6:49Speaker 5: it pulled off. Did you know if you ever do it,
- 6:52Speaker 5: it's okay? They have a safety flatch. You knew that, yeah,
- 6:57Speaker 5: because I've done. I was like, how, how do you
- 7:00Speaker 5: know that? I've witnessed?
- 7:02Speaker 3: Yeah, years, I know.
- 7:04Speaker 6: Yeah, it's either Nashville and chatting Due.
- 7:06Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 7:07Speaker 6: We're all the way to Gallenberg.
- 7:08Speaker 9: This lady pulls out of the gas pump, but like
- 7:11Speaker 9: unlike you, she just does not stop pulls it out.
- 7:13Speaker 3: I just go. It's just like flapping.
- 7:16Speaker 9: I don't know how long it took her to realize
- 7:18Speaker 9: she didn't stop, so she was out of my line.
- 7:19Speaker 6: It's like she kept on going.
- 7:22Speaker 5: Good for her because she was probably still on her
- 7:24Speaker 5: phone probably probably.
- 7:27Speaker 3: How we doing? Have we living?
- 7:28Speaker 6: We're doing good.
- 7:29Speaker 9: Thumbs are a little sore, but uh where we're going okay.
- 7:32Speaker 9: In my exercises this morning though, we're fine. We're had
- 7:35Speaker 9: some cracking to do this morning. But uh, good to go.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Who were playing with?
- 7:40Speaker 6: So uh we uh we're playing with.
- 7:44Speaker 5: L s U right now.
- 7:45Speaker 4: What I start, well, I started with you gotta go
- 7:51Speaker 4: be the O C at Tech.
- 7:52Speaker 6: I started with I'm not I'm not in Dynasty.
- 7:55Speaker 9: I'm a Road to Glory recruit, and I was I
- 7:58Speaker 9: was originally like, well, I'm not going in l s
- 8:00Speaker 9: U because like, I want to play right away.
- 8:01Speaker 6: I don't want to sit behind nuts.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Sure, but you play a.
- 8:04Speaker 9: High school season first, so it's technically twenty six wasn't there?
- 8:08Speaker 9: So I was like, okay, well let's go. Yeah, okay,
- 8:10Speaker 9: I gotta tell you that I got a bone to
- 8:12Speaker 9: pick with. Brian Kelly screwed me. Oh screwed me, like,
- 8:15Speaker 9: promised me I'd be the starter. I enroll, I get there,
- 8:19Speaker 9: third string. I had to work my way up. We
- 8:22Speaker 9: go nine and three, but I'm seven and oh as
- 8:25Speaker 9: a starter, I had to sit the first like four games.
- 8:29Speaker 9: We were one in three and then he put me
- 8:31Speaker 9: in like wait to wait till the last second, Bud
- 8:33Speaker 9: tay something.
- 8:34Speaker 4: If you're one and three at LSU, you're not gonna
- 8:36Speaker 4: be the only person disappointed?
- 8:38Speaker 3: Right, Well? Did he did?
- 8:39Speaker 8: He?
- 8:40Speaker 3: Did?
- 8:40Speaker 5: He promise you'd be the day one starter.
- 8:42Speaker 9: That's what it said, like, because when you when you
- 8:44Speaker 9: go to commit, it's like, here's where you stand on
- 8:46Speaker 9: the depth chart.
- 8:47Speaker 6: It's like starter, second string, bitch.
- 8:49Speaker 5: You must have been pretty good in high school. Then
- 8:51Speaker 5: guarantee the star. A four star was guaranteed the opening
- 8:55Speaker 5: day starter? Did he didn't have anybody. LSU didn't have anybody. Well,
- 9:00Speaker 5: they probably went to that portal, probably, so yeah, they
- 9:03Speaker 5: got Keelan Russell.
- 9:04Speaker 9: Okayla as his one win, a sixteen to ten overtime
- 9:11Speaker 9: victory against Miami Ohio.
- 9:12Speaker 5: All right, I can see Taylor's really upset about this.
- 9:15Speaker 5: I can see you get mad. So can you control
- 9:18Speaker 5: on the game? Can you control like you're willing or
- 9:21Speaker 5: your desire to transfer? Oh?
- 9:24Speaker 6: Yeah, you can enter the portal.
- 9:25Speaker 9: Like every off season, they give you option even Actually,
- 9:28Speaker 9: when Kelly messages you, he'll give you like a game
- 9:30Speaker 9: plan or what if you're not happy, you can like
- 9:33Speaker 9: give like a d bag response.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Yeah that's a lot. Oh what does d bag stand for?
- 9:40Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 9:42Speaker 4: I went saw Superman last night with the boys. Really Yeah,
- 9:46Speaker 4: yeah Superman. Yeah, didn't get home till eleven. It's late
- 9:50Speaker 4: for your boy. Here, Cad is late for your boy.
- 9:52Speaker 4: It is good though, It's good, you know what? Like
- 9:55Speaker 4: an origin story, it was pretty much like, hey, here's Superman.
- 9:59Speaker 5: Who is I've never seen him before in my life. Okay,
- 10:02Speaker 5: I didn't even know there was a Superman out either
- 10:05Speaker 5: came out. He came out yesterday.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Look at me?
- 10:08Speaker 4: Opening Night movies. Oh boy, who says you can't have
- 10:11Speaker 4: fun after.
- 10:12Speaker 7: Forty David corn sweat.
- 10:15Speaker 3: I've never seen him before.
- 10:16Speaker 6: He looks like a Superman?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Does he look like a Superman?
- 10:19Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 10:19Speaker 3: Was good. It was pretty good. Yeah, it was pretty good.
- 10:23Speaker 4: It was better than than the last couple of superhero
- 10:26Speaker 4: movies the boys have have you know taken This wasn't
- 10:29Speaker 4: because I don't really take that and they take me
- 10:31Speaker 4: because DC.
- 10:34Speaker 5: That got I mean that guy looks like Superman, super World,
- 10:36Speaker 5: like the Marvel World, like really took it downhill.
- 10:39Speaker 8: Turn Yeah, yeah, it's peak was like the twenty like
- 10:44Speaker 8: in the teens. Yeah, like twenty eleven twenty Well that's
- 10:47Speaker 8: not a team, but you get what I mean, like
- 10:49Speaker 8: the double digit. Yeah, but I looked up this guy.
- 10:52Speaker 8: He was in Twisters, but I never saw twisters, so.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Twisters.
- 10:57Speaker 10: Yeah, that was like the best comment I've ever seen.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I forgot about that.
- 11:11Speaker 4: You don't remember wearing a hat for like a full
- 11:14Speaker 4: week and jeans and a white T shirt and boots,
- 11:16Speaker 4: And I'm pretty sure it was the same white T shirt.
- 11:18Speaker 5: I know he went through some different you know, uniform stages.
- 11:24Speaker 4: On the show. Does he got like if he gets
- 11:26Speaker 4: a shirt that he's button up for like for a
- 11:29Speaker 4: little bit. Yeah, yep, there's a brown button up that
- 11:32Speaker 4: everybody knows and loves. There is a like now that
- 11:36Speaker 4: he's got the one that has the four different Disney
- 11:38Speaker 4: characters on it, that puppy. It's like, yeah, I think
- 11:41Speaker 4: those are rugby shirts is what they call that style
- 11:43Speaker 4: of shirt. Loves it married to the game Disney game.
- 11:48Speaker 9: That is Jersey Yesterday, I did Mickey, that's so tea Bob.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Hell yeah, pork McCollum.
- 11:59Speaker 5: So what was the Superman popcorn bucket?
- 12:04Speaker 3: Did they have one? I did not see that.
- 12:07Speaker 4: I'm so interested in this new like they so, you know,
- 12:10Speaker 4: Fantastic Force about to come out. So they had Galactus
- 12:13Speaker 4: and it's massive in the lady it was really She's like, look,
- 12:17Speaker 4: you and the four boys, there's a lot of popcorn, Like,
- 12:19Speaker 4: why don't you go ahead and get the bucket. I'm like, ma'am,
- 12:21Speaker 4: do you know how much it costs to send this
- 12:24Speaker 4: many children to the movies and this many children to
- 12:27Speaker 4: go through this line? I don't need the Galactis bucket
- 12:31Speaker 4: forty five dollars. The is gonna like, what in the
- 12:36Speaker 4: hell are you doing?
- 12:36Speaker 3: Yep? That's going. Yeah, so no, I don't know. I
- 12:42Speaker 3: didn't check it out.
- 12:44Speaker 5: I always like looking at them. Though they're fun. I
- 12:47Speaker 5: wish they're a little cheaper.
- 12:50Speaker 7: The buckets.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Yeah, if it was a card, dude, buy it. Well,
- 12:53Speaker 3: obviously that's an investment, that's true.
- 12:57Speaker 4: It's an investment, babements.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Not that financial will in our happiness exactly.
- 13:03Speaker 4: All right, we will step away and when we come back,
- 13:07Speaker 4: as Tata laid out, LSU got some fantastic news yesterday

- 14:42Speaker 2: like only champions can Today.
- 15:14Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in oh TV here on this
- 15:17Speaker 4: Friday morning. LSU got great news on the recruiting trail yesterday,
- 15:23Speaker 4: something we talked about on yesterday's show.
- 15:27Speaker 3: It is athlete Lamar Brown from you High.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Now, he is going to play on the offense, our
- 15:34Speaker 4: defensive line, but he is an athlete because he plays
- 15:36Speaker 4: both at an incredibly high level.
- 15:38Speaker 3: This is a huge git for LSUN.
- 15:40Speaker 4: He's going to project to be a defensive lineman in college,
- 15:44Speaker 4: but certainly somebody that can play multiple positions, even along
- 15:48Speaker 4: the defensive line, and we talked about it.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Right.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Sometimes you know, when you're from Baton Rouge and you've
- 15:55Speaker 4: gone to school on LSU's campus, it's difficult to get
- 16:01Speaker 4: that player to decide to go to LSU. There's been
- 16:04Speaker 4: and look, it's not just a U High thing. I
- 16:05Speaker 4: know a lot of people are kind of pigeonholing it.
- 16:07Speaker 4: So you know, it's there's certainly been players from dutchdown
- 16:11Speaker 4: and Catholic and all over the place that if you're
- 16:14Speaker 4: from the Baton Rouge area, like sometimes you want to
- 16:17Speaker 4: go somewhere different. Now, sure I'm biased, And what'd you say?
- 16:26Speaker 4: And before we really get into it, let's get this
- 16:28Speaker 4: thing started.
- 16:30Speaker 2: It's time to get glowing courtesy of go flow ivy Spa,

- 17:03Speaker 5: get hydrated, and go visit them on Jefferson Highway. Go
- 17:06Speaker 5: see them. Go flow IV's Bay Health and Wellness. Get
- 17:10Speaker 5: glowing with go flow Go flow ivy dot com.
- 17:13Speaker 4: All right, so like we're talking about, you know, it's hey,
- 17:15Speaker 4: it's always a little bit of a fifty to fifty deal.
- 17:17Speaker 4: But if you do stay, if you are one of
- 17:20Speaker 4: those players that is from Baton Rouge, you go to
- 17:23Speaker 4: LSU and you perform.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Like we think you're going to man. You are going
- 17:28Speaker 3: to be a made man.
- 17:30Speaker 4: You are going to be somebody that is going to
- 17:32Speaker 4: be taken care of for a long time. And again,
- 17:35Speaker 4: like I was going to say, obviously like I'm biasing
- 17:38Speaker 4: that answer, I just think that is one hundred percent true.
- 17:41Speaker 4: We kind of laid it out like there's a lot
- 17:43Speaker 4: of great football teams across the Southeast, but in every
- 17:47Speaker 4: other case, they've got a brother. It could be little brother,
- 17:50Speaker 4: it could be a big brother, but they've got a brother.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Like here in Louisiana, you've got some other good programs.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I'm not going.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Shade that way, but it's you space Space space everybody else,
- 18:02Speaker 4: and so when you make that decision, it is going
- 18:04Speaker 4: to be that forty year decision that we talk about.
- 18:07Speaker 4: So yeah, it's a big, big get for LSU to
- 18:13Speaker 4: not only get him as a player, but when you
- 18:16Speaker 4: get you know, this is multiple years now in a
- 18:18Speaker 4: row that you've gotten a player from you High, You've
- 18:21Speaker 4: gotten a player from the Baton Rouge area.
- 18:23Speaker 3: They signed guys from Catholic.
- 18:24Speaker 4: I think that is like, hey, start that trend, get
- 18:27Speaker 4: that trend going, and then maybe you know, instead of
- 18:32Speaker 4: seventy percent, maybe you get ninety percent of those guys.
- 18:35Speaker 5: Yeah, it's so important to get these guys. I mean
- 18:37Speaker 5: that that's the number one goal for LSU. And we
- 18:41Speaker 5: discussed this yesterday about like this, you know, the only
- 18:43Speaker 5: like big, big, big program in Louisiana, LSU. So the
- 18:47Speaker 5: number one goal every year in recruiting is to put
- 18:49Speaker 5: a fence around Louisiana, but certainly put a fence around
- 18:53Speaker 5: Baton Rouge and on your own campus as well. With
- 18:56Speaker 5: this with the LAPS goal being on campus, so such
- 18:59Speaker 5: a big deal. I mean, I in respect to the
- 19:02Speaker 5: big hat.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Oh that looks like my it looks like my older
- 19:07Speaker 3: brother's regular size hat right there.
- 19:12Speaker 4: He has got a domb on him now with the
- 19:14Speaker 4: baseball jersey too. I forgot about that. Heck yea that
- 19:18Speaker 4: Jeff Levy.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Yeah, you want to endear yourself? Do that right there?
- 19:23Speaker 5: Have the baseball jersey on?
- 19:24Speaker 3: Yeah? And okay, so can we pull up this tweet
- 19:28Speaker 3: from yesterday too? Can you pull that up?
- 19:29Speaker 7: What tweet?
- 19:32Speaker 3: This tweet? I do want to say it, like I didn't.
- 19:34Speaker 3: I don't want to make too much of it.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Like but my son, oh no, he plays it you
- 19:38Speaker 4: high uh he plays right next to Lamar and he
- 19:42Speaker 4: and this is for like two years.
- 19:44Speaker 3: He couldnot say enough good things about him.
- 19:48Speaker 4: And look, Lamar has been somebody that received a scholarship
- 19:51Speaker 4: hoar from LSU, like when he was going into ninth grade, right,
- 19:54Speaker 4: so he's been on the radar. So he has known
- 19:56Speaker 4: that and it is so good to hear. Like, no,
- 19:59Speaker 4: he's like, hey, he holds everybody accountable, Like he's like, hey,
- 20:01Speaker 4: if we got film, Like he's like, hey, he's writing
- 20:03Speaker 4: in the group to hey not we got to be
- 20:05Speaker 4: there first one there, Like those are things that set
- 20:08Speaker 4: you up and can really when you're talking about going
- 20:11Speaker 4: from high school to the next level you want to
- 20:13Speaker 4: play fast, you want to be somebody that they can
- 20:15Speaker 4: count on fast.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Those are the traits you have to have. Good read
- 20:19Speaker 3: the tweets there.
- 20:20Speaker 5: I'm scrolling scrolling through x Twitter whatever it is, and
- 20:24Speaker 5: I come across it yesterday and here I quote mister
- 20:27Speaker 5: Lebar Brown. I'm locked in, man, ain't none of that.
- 20:30Speaker 5: It ain't over till the ink dry. Everybody had their chance.
- 20:34Speaker 5: I'm just blessed to be able to call Lsu home.
- 20:36Speaker 5: If you're not with us, then you tiger bait. I
- 20:41Speaker 5: love this man. I loved him kind of getting ahead
- 20:45Speaker 5: of this, putting this out there for a couple of reasons.
- 20:47Speaker 5: I mean one, it shows you like a kid that's
- 20:50Speaker 5: pretty cerebral and knows like you could tell he's trying
- 20:52Speaker 5: to get his process over yeah before his season starts,
- 20:56Speaker 5: which I understand that that's what I wanted to do
- 20:59Speaker 5: when I was when I was getting recruited.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I have no idea. You have no idea.
- 21:02Speaker 5: If you combine yours and O stars together, we equal
- 21:05Speaker 5: his stars. So we don't know what it's like to
- 21:07Speaker 5: have five stars like me plus you equals h right
- 21:11Speaker 5: in the star in the star realm. So yes, but
- 21:14Speaker 5: for him to put that out there, like I wish
- 21:17Speaker 5: more young men would have this mentality of like so
- 21:22Speaker 5: often today in the college football world, in college recruiting world,
- 21:25Speaker 5: like it's a commitment, but it's like a soft Yes,
- 21:28Speaker 5: it's A'm a Pennsylvan. I'm gonna commit because that's the
- 21:31Speaker 5: thing to do. I guess I'm gonna still take my trips.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Yeah, this is the hard launch. This is Instagram official.
- 21:36Speaker 5: Yeah, this is Instagram official. It's not complicated. Okay, So
- 21:43Speaker 5: like I'm committed, but I'm committed an LSU, but I'm
- 21:46Speaker 5: still going to take.
- 21:46Speaker 3: A trip to Florida. Yeah.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Yeah, Like we talked about this with with Tristan Keys,
- 21:51Speaker 4: Like remember he wanted his recruiting trip to Tennessee and
- 21:54Speaker 4: he was in full uniform and they had people extras.
- 21:57Speaker 3: I think that they hire from the street and they
- 22:00Speaker 3: line the walkway and yeah, it's.
- 22:02Speaker 5: Just like to me, when you make a commitment commitment
- 22:05Speaker 5: to somebody, you're saying, hey, I like you, you like me,
- 22:09Speaker 5: Let's not see other people.
- 22:11Speaker 3: And so I like how he got got out ahead
- 22:13Speaker 3: of this.
- 22:14Speaker 5: This is this is it like if I had if
- 22:16Speaker 5: I had a piece of paper in front of me
- 22:17Speaker 5: right now, I would sign it. So what does that help?
- 22:21Speaker 5: That helps just like endear him LSU fans even more.
- 22:24Speaker 5: But two, it helps recruiting the rest of his class.
- 22:30Speaker 5: So you get these guys that high school kids. Now
- 22:34Speaker 5: he can help recruit other kids. Yeah and so, And
- 22:38Speaker 5: I know what people are saying, like, well, kids say
- 22:40Speaker 5: this all the time. It's like a coach saying he'll
- 22:42Speaker 5: never leave blah blah blah.
- 22:45Speaker 3: But he didn't have to say this.
- 22:46Speaker 5: He didn't have to come out and put this out
- 22:49Speaker 5: there in the public like coaches have to sometimes lie
- 22:52Speaker 5: out there coaching stability because they have to sit in
- 22:55Speaker 5: front of a microphone and get asked yeah, like so
- 22:58Speaker 5: they have to kind of misdirect guy. This guy didn't
- 23:01Speaker 5: have to do this. So I just like the commitment.
- 23:05Speaker 5: I love people when they go and say this is
- 23:08Speaker 5: my word, I'm giving it to somebody. I'm making a
- 23:10Speaker 5: promise and I fully intend on fulfilling it.
- 23:13Speaker 3: And I spoke on this yesterday.
- 23:15Speaker 5: The only reason you can, like I would ever say, man,
- 23:19Speaker 5: kid's got to do it's best for him is if
- 23:21Speaker 5: the university that he commits to does something to him
- 23:24Speaker 5: that they said they wouldn't do and that at that point,
- 23:27Speaker 5: it's like yeah, fuck fair game, Like if they're not
- 23:29Speaker 5: going to help hold their commitment, then you do what's
- 23:33Speaker 5: best for you.
- 23:34Speaker 4: I can tell you so it's true before like lsu
- 23:38Speaker 4: really even like fully a kay offer. We want you
- 23:42Speaker 4: to be here, and I was committed to Texas like
- 23:46Speaker 4: they and you don't have to. Here's the thing that
- 23:47Speaker 4: coaches don't understand, or at least they didn't in my
- 23:50Speaker 4: recruiting process. I can only give you mine like the
- 23:54Speaker 4: whole time, like we're not recruiting any other running back.
- 23:56Speaker 4: We're not recruiting any other running back, like you're with us,
- 23:58Speaker 4: like you're our running back. Wait, okay, cool, but I
- 24:01Speaker 4: don't care if you are. It's not like quarterback, like
- 24:04Speaker 4: if you're recruiting another guy, we can both play. There
- 24:07Speaker 4: was a guy in my signing class from the state
- 24:09Speaker 4: of Texas. He was pretty good. His name was Adrian Peterson.
- 24:13Speaker 4: We're the same year, all right. I know you're recruiting
- 24:17Speaker 4: Adrian Peterson. You should be recruiting Adrian Peterson. You should
- 24:21Speaker 4: be actually doing everything you can, moving heaven and earth
- 24:24Speaker 4: to get Adrian Peterson to Austin.
- 24:27Speaker 3: But they kept telling me like, no, nope, and I'm
- 24:29Speaker 3: like I was young, I.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Didn't all right, they told you they weren't recruiting him.
- 24:34Speaker 4: They told me like they weren't recruiting any other run
- 24:36Speaker 4: because you committed. Yeah, you committed, were shutting down, right.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Which.
- 24:43Speaker 4: The well, look the internet, the internet is not like
- 24:48Speaker 4: it is now. Like I knew who Adrian Peterson was
- 24:50Speaker 4: just because we had gone to camps together.
- 24:53Speaker 3: I had seen this highlight table which was incredible. We played.
- 24:56Speaker 4: We played a lot of East Texas schools right that,
- 24:59Speaker 4: and so like the buzz was around him.
- 25:01Speaker 3: You'd see him at Nike camp or whatever.
- 25:03Speaker 4: But it wasn't like now everybody in America would know
- 25:07Speaker 4: who Adrian Peterson was. They would have already seen his
- 25:10Speaker 4: tape all these things, right, But the thing for me
- 25:13Speaker 4: was all right, well I know you are. But then
- 25:15Speaker 4: there was like another running back that was pretty similar
- 25:20Speaker 4: to my skill set that they were recruiting and offered
- 25:23Speaker 4: and talked with, and like I had known that. It's like,
- 25:26Speaker 4: all right, so if you're gonna lie to me like
- 25:28Speaker 4: about something like this where I and again, you shouldn't
- 25:30Speaker 4: be lying. You should just be recruiting those players. I
- 25:33Speaker 4: that's not we're not starting off on the best foot here.
- 25:37Speaker 4: But with coach Saban after, he he's like, hey, look
- 25:40Speaker 4: we got Joe Ade, we got Charyon Kerry, we got
- 25:44Speaker 4: Ali Brustard, we got Barrington Edwards, We've got Justin Vincon.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Like he listed off all the runans. He's like, we're stacked.
- 25:51Speaker 4: He's like, now, I think you're different than all those
- 25:52Speaker 4: running backs, like not good, bad, or and different. I
- 25:55Speaker 4: think you're different. So I think we'll have a place
- 25:57Speaker 4: in a space carved out for you. But we have
- 26:01Speaker 4: a deep running back room. And I was like, I
- 26:03Speaker 4: like that better. I like the fact that he's like,
- 26:06Speaker 4: we want you, we're going to offer you. Here's who
- 26:09Speaker 4: we have, though, and if you want to, you know,
- 26:11Speaker 4: integrate yourself somewhere in that rotation, you've got to be
- 26:14Speaker 4: the guy that we think you can be.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:17Speaker 5: And I said it when when they recruited me, they
- 26:22Speaker 5: said we're taking two quarterbacks. This is a two quarterback
- 26:26Speaker 5: signing class. So you're not gonna be the only guy.
- 26:29Speaker 5: You're gonna have to compete as soon as you get
- 26:30Speaker 5: to LSU and every year after that.
- 26:34Speaker 3: I was fine with that.
- 26:35Speaker 5: I was good with that it was why I wavered
- 26:39Speaker 5: at the end, was because there was too committed and
- 26:41Speaker 5: they still recruited somebody else.
- 26:45Speaker 3: You can take the names out of it.
- 26:46Speaker 5: It's not that they were who they recruiting, just the
- 26:48Speaker 5: fact that there was too committed, like they said, and
- 26:51Speaker 5: continue to recruit one other person. Anyway, we got through it.
- 26:56Speaker 5: We worked it out. You know, every every couple has
- 26:59Speaker 5: a fight every now and then. Yeah, it's true, worked
- 27:02Speaker 5: it out. It be complicated, it'd be complicated sometimes before
- 27:06Speaker 5: signing a too, tears rolling down my cheeks, like, well
- 27:10Speaker 5: we do what are we doing? Yeah, it's a big
- 27:11Speaker 5: decision tomorrow, got pretty big. I gotta sign on a
- 27:14Speaker 5: piece of paper. That's what you told me and Jimbo
- 27:16Speaker 5: talked for a couple hours.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Did your did your parents leave it up to you?
- 27:21Speaker 1: Oh?
- 27:21Speaker 3: Yeah I did? Yeah, Yeah for sure. Yeah. Now I
- 27:24Speaker 3: don't know.
- 27:25Speaker 4: It's probably different now because of n I L and
- 27:27Speaker 4: money and parents are going to be more involved with
- 27:30Speaker 4: that because there's dollars and cents attached to it.
- 27:33Speaker 3: But now let me tell you this.
- 27:34Speaker 5: When I committed my story, I don't know if I've
- 27:38Speaker 5: ever told you or said this on air, but like
- 27:40Speaker 5: my story with committing to LSU was my junior year,
- 27:43Speaker 5: so I got you made fun of me this, But
- 27:46Speaker 5: like I didn't start in high school till my second
- 27:48Speaker 5: game in a junior year, maybe a second or third game,
- 27:52Speaker 5: I can't remember.
- 27:53Speaker 3: It feels like third.
- 27:56Speaker 5: So I was a little late to getting recruited. But
- 27:58Speaker 5: I had been offered by let's see, like like Baylor,
- 28:02Speaker 5: Vanderblt like some smaller schools, and then LSU was a
- 28:06Speaker 5: little bit later, a couple like a couple of weeks
- 28:08Speaker 5: or a couple of months later later. But I come
- 28:11Speaker 5: down to camp in June, and this is like the
- 28:15Speaker 5: old school, like the one of the only camps I'd
- 28:16Speaker 5: ever been to that you had to bring your helmet.
- 28:19Speaker 5: So it was like it was like we're gonna get
- 28:21Speaker 5: after it. We're gonna we're gonna work. This is like
- 28:23Speaker 5: training camp. So I go there the first day of
- 28:26Speaker 5: camp and it's a three day camp and it's hot.
- 28:28Speaker 5: It's like middle of June. It's humid. I'm like, where
- 28:32Speaker 5: the hell am I and savans out there screaming like
- 28:36Speaker 5: like like you would like a normal put us through
- 28:39Speaker 5: a training like to a day's like ask kicker, And
- 28:43Speaker 5: so I'm like that's the first day. I'm like, Dad,
- 28:48Speaker 5: this is awful, Like there is no way I am
- 28:52Speaker 5: coming here. Like this was it was like I was
- 28:55Speaker 5: screamed at the whole time. It was hot, it was
- 28:57Speaker 5: just terrible. And I was like, let's just we can
- 29:02Speaker 5: go home cause this this ain't happen. This isn't going
- 29:04Speaker 5: to work out. And then he's like, no, we're not
- 29:07Speaker 5: going home. We committed to like staying at this camp,
- 29:10Speaker 5: right and you're going to stay. And so of course
- 29:12Speaker 5: I stayed. And then like after the second third day,
- 29:15Speaker 5: I was like, no, this is awesome, yeah, like I
- 29:17Speaker 5: love it here. And then we went home went back home.
- 29:21Speaker 5: This is like like June seventeenth, nineteen. I remember the
- 29:24Speaker 5: dates because it's like right around my birthday. And then
- 29:28Speaker 5: we were eating out. I think we were at like
- 29:31Speaker 5: on the border or something.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Like on the border right there with their college half
- 29:35Speaker 3: toward sea at Chips.
- 29:37Speaker 5: So this is on the border in Tyler, Texas at
- 29:40Speaker 5: the corner of Broadway in Loop three twenty three. We
- 29:45Speaker 5: were there and I was talking to my dad about it,
- 29:47Speaker 5: but he's like, well, he was kind of like looking
- 29:51Speaker 5: at me, like I'm kind of crazy not to like
- 29:54Speaker 5: commit right, because we knew we wanted to do it
- 29:56Speaker 5: before the senior year started, right, and so well, the
- 29:59Speaker 5: next I think it was either that night after I
- 30:02Speaker 5: think it was that night after on the borders, like
- 30:03Speaker 5: the day before my birthday. Yeah, called Jimbo say I'll
- 30:07Speaker 5: be your first. Yeah, I'll be the first. But yeah,
- 30:10Speaker 5: but if I would have had my way, I would
- 30:12Speaker 5: have left after that first day camp.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:14Speaker 5: I was like, this is miserable. My dad was like,
- 30:15Speaker 5: uh huh, No, you committed to do it, understand.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Yeah, we got plenty Yeah, plenty of those stories. Plenty
- 30:22Speaker 4: of those stories from Jimbo and coach Saban saying sweet
- 30:26Speaker 4: nothings too.
- 30:27Speaker 5: Plenty money in the chat said clones getting the smart
- 30:29Speaker 5: scholarships bayl Or Vandy Yep, scholar right here.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 30:34Speaker 4: If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times.
- 30:36Speaker 4: I think scholar when I hear Flynn talk. All right,
- 30:39Speaker 4: So when we come back, I do want to kind
- 30:41Speaker 4: of break down this recruiting class that you have just
- 30:45Speaker 4: really based off who you have committed, what positions they play,
- 30:51Speaker 4: where you need to fill out the roster, and also
- 30:54Speaker 4: like what that can do for you in the future.
- 30:56Speaker 3: So we'll do that when we come back on OTB.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Off the bench, all right, go to go Tommy's g
- 31:02Speaker 4: E A U X, Tommy's with A Y dot Com
- 31:05Speaker 4: and look Tommy and the team, all they do is
- 31:07Speaker 4: continue to just stack awards twenty twenty five in the
- 31:11Speaker 4: Advocate Best Windows, it's Tommy twenty sixteen.
- 31:16Speaker 3: It's Tommy Well, I mean, just keep going Ron.
- 31:21Speaker 5: Twenty five number one.
- 31:25Speaker 4: And there is actually right now. You need to check
- 31:27Speaker 4: it out on the Advocate. It's got a story about
- 31:32Speaker 4: Tommy and the team over Tommy's windows, doors and siding,
- 31:34Speaker 4: and again they won the best of in the Baton
- 31:37Speaker 4: Rouge Awards Best Windows in Town. It's an incredible story,
- 31:41Speaker 4: kind of tells you about Tommy the team, how they
- 31:43Speaker 4: got started, what they could do for you. I mean, look,
- 31:46Speaker 4: Tommy came down here. He's in the Golden Band from
- 31:48Speaker 4: Tiger Land. Like nobody is more Tiger than our guy Tommy.
- 31:52Speaker 4: So go to the website today, check out our gallery
- 31:54Speaker 4: of word getting contact with them, have them come see
- 31:57Speaker 4: your space.
- 31:57Speaker 3: That's go Tommy's dot.
- 31:59Speaker 11: Com, Tigers turn Talkers.
- 32:10Speaker 1: This is Off the Bench, all right.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Welcome back again, OTB. Here on this Friday morning.
- 32:26Speaker 4: You look at Lshoe's recruiting class and they do now
- 32:29Speaker 4: have three five star players committed to them, Tristan Keys,
- 32:34Speaker 4: Lamar Brown, and Richard Anderson. And for Anderson and Brown,
- 32:42Speaker 4: they're both defensive linemen.
- 32:44Speaker 3: They're both right there.
- 32:46Speaker 4: For Anderson, by the way, he is six three and
- 32:49Speaker 4: a half three point fifty, so Lamar Brown's a little
- 32:52Speaker 4: bit different. He's six four two eighty five. So obviously
- 32:55Speaker 4: they can be on the field at the same time.
- 32:57Speaker 4: I bring it up because, Matt, when we were really
- 33:01Speaker 4: good at LSU our entire time, you're starting in O three,
- 33:06Speaker 4: we both finished in seven. What did we have that was,
- 33:10Speaker 4: without a question, dominant.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Defensive tackles, defensive line.
- 33:15Speaker 4: I mean Chad Lavalley, Melvin Oliver, Kyle Williams, Glenn Dorsey,
- 33:21Speaker 4: Claude Roten, Ricky, Jean Fansois.
- 33:26Speaker 5: It seemed every.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Got your big fave. I got you dog.
- 33:33Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean every year there was stacked and
- 33:35Speaker 5: usually that there was crossover between the two.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Yeah, and all those players were like all conference are
- 33:42Speaker 4: all American players, all of them.
- 33:45Speaker 5: When we first got there, it was you had well
- 33:48Speaker 5: I think he was before you got there. But it
- 33:50Speaker 5: was La Williams, and I think I can't remember if
- 33:53Speaker 5: Roten was on the three or not. Definitely a four.
- 33:55Speaker 5: He was four for sure because he was here when
- 33:57Speaker 5: I was for sure. But I mean, I mean you
- 33:58Speaker 5: talked about an interior. Yeah, that whole defensive line of
- 34:01Speaker 5: A three was insane.
- 34:05Speaker 4: But that's where, Mikey, when you think about when LSU
- 34:08Speaker 4: was going through that winning national championships, playing for national championships,
- 34:13Speaker 4: because even like in twenty eleven, that was another dominant group,
- 34:17Speaker 4: Like that is the position where if they've got like
- 34:20Speaker 4: true Jimmy's and Joe's true dudes, not just guys, that's
- 34:26Speaker 4: when LSU is its most successful.
- 34:28Speaker 3: And it's look, we gotta call like it is.
- 34:30Speaker 4: It's been a long time since LSU's had an ass
- 34:33Speaker 4: kicker on the defensive line like that. They've had good players,
- 34:37Speaker 4: so I don't want to act like they have not,
- 34:39Speaker 4: but I'm talking about to that standard.
- 34:41Speaker 3: Now. You could you say, well, yeah, it's kind of
- 34:43Speaker 3: flipped it. You know. Now it's at quarterback, it's receiver.
- 34:47Speaker 4: You've had, you know, an offensive lineman now with Will
- 34:49Speaker 4: Campbell because that was for a long time as well.
- 34:51Speaker 4: I get all that but when LSU is at its
- 34:54Speaker 4: very best, the defensive line is the most dominant position
- 34:59Speaker 4: group on the team in my opinion.
- 35:01Speaker 5: Yeah, and you don't and normally you don't see game
- 35:04Speaker 5: changers at that position. We were just fortunate in the
- 35:07Speaker 5: two thousands to have multiple players that went through there
- 35:10Speaker 5: that were game changers, and at that position you don't
- 35:13Speaker 5: really have to be that. But really, a really good
- 35:17Speaker 5: defensive tackle sometimes gets unnoticed. It's like a it's like
- 35:21Speaker 5: offensive line, it's like a good center, it's like a
- 35:23Speaker 5: good left guard. A guy that can be an anchor
- 35:27Speaker 5: in the middle of a defensive line. So what we
- 35:29Speaker 5: mean by an anchor is a guy that doesn't move
- 35:31Speaker 5: when you're trying to open up gaps. Tighten up the gaps,
- 35:34Speaker 5: tighten up the holes, tighten up the reads for running backs.
- 35:37Speaker 5: And then not to mention being able to push.
- 35:40Speaker 3: On your pass rush.
- 35:42Speaker 5: Yeah, when when a quarterback doesn't have anywhere to step
- 35:45Speaker 5: up to, like you, a defensive tackle, it's going to
- 35:47Speaker 5: be rare when you have a you know, a defensive
- 35:49Speaker 5: tackle get a lot.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Of sacks or like a high sack count.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Would you agree that it is much harder to game
- 35:56Speaker 4: plan for somebody that is disruptive in the middle than
- 35:59Speaker 4: the ad because I feel like for an edge defender,
- 36:01Speaker 4: because somebody said it's all about the edge, Now, well
- 36:04Speaker 4: it's the edge rushers. It's always been about them, Like
- 36:07Speaker 4: you go back to Lawrence Taylor and we go even
- 36:09Speaker 4: farther back from that. But I can do things to
- 36:12Speaker 4: slow him down easier within my offense than if somebody
- 36:16Speaker 4: is just kicking my butt right there between the two guards.
- 36:20Speaker 5: It's all I mean, it's not all about the edge.
- 36:24Speaker 5: It's certainly the sexy position because they come around the
- 36:27Speaker 5: edge and it's a pretty and it's a it's a something.
- 36:30Speaker 3: That make all the sound effects from the right.
- 36:33Speaker 5: But I mean, if you got a guy rushing around
- 36:35Speaker 5: the edge, he benefits a lot from a really good
- 36:39Speaker 5: defensive tackle, Yeah, being able to push a center and
- 36:42Speaker 5: a guard back to where the if the quarterback can't
- 36:44Speaker 5: step up into a pocket because there is human carnage
- 36:48Speaker 5: right there in front of him, which is and we're
- 36:51Speaker 5: not talking about a defend tackle being able to beat
- 36:53Speaker 5: and swim and swipe and have a free a free
- 36:56Speaker 5: lane and a three hit free hit at the quarterback.
- 36:58Speaker 5: I'm just talking about pushing an offensive lineman back to
- 37:02Speaker 5: where the quarterback can't step up into them. That makes
- 37:05Speaker 5: it easy for the edge rushers to come so all.
- 37:08Speaker 5: But I mean, of course ed rocher is a ultimately
- 37:11Speaker 5: important position. That's why they get paid so much. Yeah,
- 37:14Speaker 5: at the next level, but a defensive tackle can just
- 37:17Speaker 5: really secure everything in the pass game and in the
- 37:21Speaker 5: running game.
- 37:22Speaker 4: Right, there's nothing worse than when I get a handoff
- 37:24Speaker 4: and I've already got a three technique that's two yards
- 37:26Speaker 4: in the backfield, right, and it's.
- 37:28Speaker 5: A lot of really good defensive ends. It's a little
- 37:30Speaker 5: bit less these days, but like when I first got
- 37:32Speaker 5: in the league, there was third down specialists, like people
- 37:34Speaker 5: got paid the most poscause defensive ends that would just
- 37:37Speaker 5: go in on third downs they weren't there because they
- 37:39Speaker 5: couldn't really stop the run. But defensive tackles you're in
- 37:42Speaker 5: every single play, and they can make a big difference,
- 37:47Speaker 5: even if they don't have a high tackle count, even
- 37:50Speaker 5: if they don't have these huge Gaudi stats.
- 37:52Speaker 3: A really good secure one.
- 37:55Speaker 5: In the middle can stop the run, make it hard
- 37:56Speaker 5: on them, and control the quarterback, being able to step
- 38:00Speaker 5: up and make moves in the in the a gap
- 38:02Speaker 5: and be.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Yeah, look and that's why I love this LSU recruiting
- 38:04Speaker 4: class so far, because you know, two of the three
- 38:07Speaker 4: better players here the five stars, are on that defensive front,
- 38:11Speaker 4: and it is a place again where LSU, when they've
- 38:13Speaker 4: had them, they have certainly thrived. And when you can
- 38:16Speaker 4: get somebody in the middle of your defense, which like
- 38:19Speaker 4: LSU hasn't had in a while, like right now, even
- 38:21Speaker 4: they've got, in my opinion, one of the best football
- 38:24Speaker 4: players I ever played with in Kyle Williams coaching them up,
- 38:28Speaker 4: and it is a unit that he is going to
- 38:30Speaker 4: get the most out of. But you need some of
- 38:33Speaker 4: the guys that we're talking about. You needed Kyle Williams.
- 38:36Speaker 4: You need a Glenn Dorsey, you need a Ricky gene
- 38:38Speaker 4: franzois like. And I know there's not a lot of
- 38:40Speaker 4: those guys walking the earth, but there is some, and
- 38:43Speaker 4: you got to get them. Got a couple at the
- 38:46Speaker 4: end of.
- 38:46Speaker 5: The two thousands that played like seemed like fifteen years
- 38:50Speaker 5: in the league that was with us. Yeah, I Woods,
- 38:53Speaker 5: I woulds, there you go, there you go, would.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Fourth round draft choice out of the Saints.
- 38:57Speaker 4: The Saints cut him out of training camp and he
- 38:59Speaker 4: played fifteen years after.
- 39:00Speaker 5: That he's a great example of what he is, a
- 39:03Speaker 5: really great example of what I'm talking about. That guy
- 39:06Speaker 5: that never had these big stat I mean, maybe he
- 39:09Speaker 5: had some seasons where he got it him full sacks whatever,
- 39:12Speaker 5: but like a guy that you never really even knew
- 39:15Speaker 5: was out there, but then all of a sudden, he's
- 39:18Speaker 5: racking up year after year after year of NFL contracts
- 39:23Speaker 5: and being on teams and being like an anchor guy.
- 39:26Speaker 5: Because he was good at being an anchor. Yep, he
- 39:30Speaker 5: was good. He didn't get pushed around, he did his job.
- 39:33Speaker 5: He clogged up holes, which is exactly what you.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Have to do with that position.
- 39:37Speaker 5: So one of those guys that, now that I'm thinking
- 39:41Speaker 5: back on Hunt's question, was that the survey, the Station
- 39:44Speaker 5: survey the other day, by most surprising pro careers.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he would. He would have been a
- 39:50Speaker 3: good answer.
- 39:51Speaker 4: Especially getting released as a fourth round pick that training
- 39:56Speaker 4: camp that typically I'm not saying that a fourth is
- 40:00Speaker 4: completely safe. I don't really know a whole lot of
- 40:03Speaker 4: fourth rounders that don't get at least one season with
- 40:05Speaker 4: that team. So Mickey missed on that one because he
- 40:09Speaker 4: cuts him and then he goes to place fifteen years
- 40:12Speaker 4: after that.
- 40:13Speaker 5: I knew a couple of fourth rounders that got released,
- 40:15Speaker 5: but it was like there was injury involved.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Okay, little.
- 40:21Speaker 4: You you at least like and maybe Lineman's a little
- 40:24Speaker 4: bit different, but if you were a fourth rounder and
- 40:26Speaker 4: he got there, it's like, oh, we messed up. You're
- 40:28Speaker 4: gonna be a teams guy at least right.
- 40:30Speaker 3: For a year.
- 40:30Speaker 5: You're not gonna look at al and be like, oh,
- 40:31Speaker 5: we messed up on this one, right, do you There
- 40:35Speaker 5: was a clip of him. I can't remember. He was
- 40:38Speaker 5: on kickoff return. Do you remember this? Yeah, it was
- 40:42Speaker 5: on kickoff return. And I remember Peevotoe walking through this,
- 40:48Speaker 5: remember walking through this special teams meeting because the whole
- 40:50Speaker 5: team was in there, like on the the Monday after
- 40:53Speaker 5: the Sunday after for the for the Special Team's film review,
- 40:56Speaker 5: and he pointed out this clip and I think we
- 41:00Speaker 5: were playing Louisiana Tech and it was a kickoff and
- 41:03Speaker 5: he's like, all right, I want you.
- 41:04Speaker 3: To watch big out here.
- 41:05Speaker 5: Now he's running up and this guy comes from out
- 41:09Speaker 5: of nowhere and he tries to blind side out. Yeah,
- 41:12Speaker 5: so he come like I was not even looking at him.
- 41:14Speaker 5: He's looking to the right. This kid's coming from the
- 41:17Speaker 5: left and tries to like clean him up on the side.
- 41:19Speaker 5: Do you remember this clip? He tries to clean him out,
- 41:22Speaker 5: de clean.
- 41:22Speaker 4: Him no matter how good or you know, how big,
- 41:25Speaker 4: how strong you are. If that happens, typically like your
- 41:29Speaker 4: head hits the ground before anything else.
- 41:31Speaker 5: It looked like a cartoon when somebody is running down
- 41:35Speaker 5: the street and like hits a street pole, like he hit.
- 41:39Speaker 5: Al didn't even move the kid. Literally his head snaps back,
- 41:42Speaker 5: his feet goes straight up in the air and bounces
- 41:45Speaker 5: off the ground, probably three foot off the ground. Yes,
- 41:48Speaker 5: it was the funniest clip I've ever seen in my life.
- 41:51Speaker 5: And Al just like he's running and he just kind
- 41:53Speaker 5: of like looks down and you can just probably you know,
- 41:55Speaker 5: hear him in your head just going to.
- 42:01Speaker 4: Shout out to al Woods, large American, biggest hands I've
- 42:06Speaker 4: ever seen in my life.
- 42:07Speaker 5: What a career.
- 42:09Speaker 3: All right, we'll close out our number one when we
- 42:11Speaker 3: come back here on otb off the bench. You know,
- 42:15Speaker 3: like even like a.
- 42:15Speaker 4: Nice dose sekis can would look like a pebble in
- 42:20Speaker 4: Olwood's hands.
- 42:21Speaker 5: Yeah, it looked like one of those many like those
- 42:23Speaker 5: many cokes.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Yeah, but like nope, Yeah, so because of that, instead
- 42:27Speaker 4: of grabbing one, he could probably grab two and go
- 42:30Speaker 4: for dose right there on the spot.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Responsibly, very responsibly.
- 42:35Speaker 4: I wonder if they have those sekis in Atlanta. I
- 42:38Speaker 4: bet they got a few where you think we should
- 42:42Speaker 4: try to make a din in it. I think we
- 42:44Speaker 4: should try to drink all of them well responsibly. All
- 42:51Speaker 4: these We say it all the time. There's never a
- 42:54Speaker 4: bad time. Beach beer, pull beer, lake beer, river beer
- 42:57Speaker 4: does not matter. It is the beer of choice. So
- 43:00Speaker 4: go ahead, go for dose, grab a Shaky's drink.
- 43:02Speaker 5: Respond I'm gonna have my first media day beer.
- 43:05Speaker 3: You are, I'm.
- 43:06Speaker 5: Sure after a long day of talking.
- 43:08Speaker 3: First airport beer. Sunday too, Right.
- 43:10Speaker 5: Sunday morning, let's do it? Do sakis? Go for does
- 43:12Speaker 5: drink responsibly? Delete some beers?
- 43:20Speaker 2: Two thousand and seven Champs Purple and Gold to the core.
- 43:23Speaker 2: This is off the bench with Hester and Flynn, Matt
- 43:27Speaker 2: and Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 43:55Speaker 4: All right, So right now LSU football, when we're talking
- 44:00Speaker 4: about this, the next recruiting class and Tata laid this
- 44:02Speaker 4: out either earlier this week or late last week. They
- 44:06Speaker 4: are a top ten recruiting class. They actually now come
- 44:09Speaker 4: in at number six. But the thing that is different
- 44:11Speaker 4: for LSU compared to the teams ahead of them or
- 44:15Speaker 4: even like right underneath them, So high state seven, but
- 44:18Speaker 4: they've got twenty one guys committed. Alabama has nineteen, Notre
- 44:23Speaker 4: Dame has twenty five A and m has twenty four.
- 44:27Speaker 4: Georgia has twenty seven, USC thirty one two.
- 44:32Speaker 3: LSU has sixteen. So how do they do this?
- 44:35Speaker 5: This is like a total amount of stars or like
- 44:38Speaker 5: the average her commitment.
- 44:41Speaker 4: Right, so you kind of get a score, you get
- 44:43Speaker 4: an average rating, and it gets kind of put all together,
- 44:47Speaker 4: and that's how they get it. But obviously, like if
- 44:49Speaker 4: you have more players that are highly rated, like it's
- 44:52Speaker 4: going to improve. So the fact that LSU only has
- 44:54Speaker 4: sixteen players TATAE and they're still this high up kind
- 44:58Speaker 4: of tells you the quality they have.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Here we go they hit that button, baby, I was like,
- 45:08Speaker 3: it's on.
- 45:09Speaker 9: If you look at the average rating per recruit, like
- 45:12Speaker 9: they do like the average, LSU has a higher average
- 45:15Speaker 9: recruit rating than all five teams in front of them.
- 45:17Speaker 9: They're at ninety two point one four. The next closest
- 45:21Speaker 9: is Alabama with ninety one four. So like it's a
- 45:25Speaker 9: quality versus quantity thing right now.
- 45:29Speaker 4: If you look at the group and like Taytay's talking
- 45:31Speaker 4: about LSU and Oregon probably the most impressive classes so
- 45:39Speaker 4: far ms ninety shay towards USC but they have thirty
- 45:42Speaker 4: one guys, and it's gonna be fascinating to see how
- 45:45Speaker 4: LSU and organ those other teams. But certainly LSU kind
- 45:47Speaker 4: of finish it up here. All right, let's continue talking recruiting.
- 45:51Speaker 4: We're gonna do that when we come back here. It
- 45:54Speaker 4: is OTB off the bench, all right. Go to your
