- 0:49Speaker 4: Friday before Thanksgiving. Caleb is a and m off the
- 0:53Speaker 4: entire week next week. How does it work?
- 0:55Speaker 5: Uh? So we do have class I think Monday and Tuesday, okay,
- 0:59Speaker 5: and then when day is a reading day and then
- 1:01Speaker 5: we're off for the.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Rest so quote unquote reading day, nobody's gonna be there.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Nobody can get it.
- 1:06Speaker 4: I know exactly how those working.
- 1:09Speaker 5: Yeah, but I think there is there. I know there's
- 1:11Speaker 5: class Monday. I'm pretty sure there's class Tuesday, and then
- 1:13Speaker 5: uh Wednesday, everybody will be gone. It will be a
- 1:17Speaker 5: ghost town. I guarantee you.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Yeah, there is still college football this weekend.
- 1:22Speaker 5: There is still next week weekend. Now, Friday is going
- 1:25Speaker 5: to be one of the best slates we've seen on
- 1:27Speaker 5: a day.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Which is good because it makes up for this weekend,
- 1:30Speaker 4: which doesn't have too many marquee games. Yeah, there's a
- 1:32Speaker 4: there's there's a couple on here that we we will
- 1:35Speaker 4: certainly get to, but before we actually get into those games,
- 1:38Speaker 4: I had to I had to talk about this because
- 1:41Speaker 4: when I get here in the mornings, I sit down
- 1:43Speaker 4: and I usually do a little bit of show prep
- 1:45Speaker 4: for my show on Candy, and that involves me going
- 1:48Speaker 4: through different headlines trying to find fun stuff to talk about.
- 1:51Speaker 4: And I don't get to talk about a lot of
- 1:52Speaker 4: sports over there, so when I see a sporty headline,
- 1:55Speaker 4: I usually save it for this show. Yeah, and I
- 1:57Speaker 4: saw one this morning that very much caught my I
- 2:00Speaker 4: that I am very excited to talk about. And it
- 2:02Speaker 4: actually is related to a college right down the road
- 2:05Speaker 4: in Houston, though it is not the University of Houston.
- 2:07Speaker 4: It is Rice. Yeah you probably know this story already. Yeah,
- 2:11Speaker 4: I saw it on my show Prep this morning. I
- 2:14Speaker 4: will read you the headline, Rice University offers free beer
- 2:18Speaker 4: and ice cream to boost football attendance, because.
- 2:22Speaker 5: I mean that that's the way to boost football. That
- 2:26Speaker 5: is the way to boost football. Tendant go about to
- 2:28Speaker 5: boost bab. I wish no doubt.
- 2:30Speaker 4: That my school, University of Houston, would do something similar,
- 2:34Speaker 4: because it's no secret that we also very much struggle
- 2:36Speaker 4: filling seats, as was all over the internet the other week. Anyways,
- 2:42Speaker 4: here's the finer details of that. Rice University is providing
- 2:45Speaker 4: free beer, Ben and Jerry's ice cream and fifteen dollars
- 2:49Speaker 4: food truck vouchers to students attending Saturday's home football game
- 2:53Speaker 4: against North Texas, which is being played at Rice Stadium.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Says students must show valid Rice ease to receive the
- 3:01Speaker 4: perks at the nest, which I guess is what they
- 3:04Speaker 4: call their like little hum or whatever.
- 3:05Speaker 5: Well that's what they call their stadium.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Is that what they call their stadium?
- 3:08Speaker 5: I think?
- 3:09Speaker 2: So?
- 3:09Speaker 4: Okay, you might You're probably right about that. They say.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Additional prizes include chances to win turtlebox speakers and five
- 3:15Speaker 4: hundred dollars h g B gift cards.
- 3:18Speaker 5: They're going all out.
- 3:19Speaker 4: They are going all out. This is a promotion that
- 3:21Speaker 4: aims to increase attendance for the struggling football program. They're
- 3:24Speaker 4: five and five though, so they're right on the edge
- 3:26Speaker 4: of bowl eligibility, right, one more game and their bowl eligible.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Decent that nobody cares.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Yeah, they're eleventh in the AAC. They're a five hundred team,
- 3:34Speaker 4: But I mean that's you're right, that is decent. It's
- 3:36Speaker 4: not good, it's decent. Uh. Rice Stadium, you know, and
- 3:39Speaker 4: Rice Stadium is big. I mean that stadium seats forty
- 3:42Speaker 4: seven thousand, and I'm pretty sure it used to be
- 3:44Speaker 4: like even more than that.
- 3:46Speaker 5: When they were in the Southwest Conference.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Yeah, wasn't it like upwards of seventy thousand sounds right,
- 3:51Speaker 4: And I mean it would always be full of Texas
- 3:53Speaker 4: fans when they would come to play there, but still
- 3:54Speaker 4: fans or Aggie fans, but still would hold a lot
- 3:56Speaker 4: of people. And they had a Super Bowl at that
- 3:58Speaker 4: stadium in the seventies. I believe did they not. Yeah
- 4:01Speaker 4: they did. There was a Super Bowl played at Rice Stadium,
- 4:04Speaker 4: But the university only enrolls about nine thousand students now
- 4:07Speaker 4: and the school average is about averages quote, about twenty
- 4:10Speaker 4: thousand fans per game. I find that a little bit
- 4:13Speaker 4: hard to believe.
- 4:15Speaker 5: So the nest is a premium party deck.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Okay, that's more along the lines of what I thought
- 4:19Speaker 4: it was. So they say that tickets do remain available
- 4:24Speaker 4: despite the extensive promotional campaign to decide to draw the
- 4:27Speaker 4: season's largest crowd to the final home game. Look, you
- 4:29Speaker 4: really want to get a lot of people to show up.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Don't limit this to just the students. Give it to
- 4:33Speaker 4: anybody that shows up. Yeah, I know that to ask
- 4:35Speaker 4: it too much, but I love the idea. I could
- 4:39Speaker 4: fully get behind this, And like I was saying, I
- 4:41Speaker 4: would love to see their school right down the street,
- 4:47Speaker 4: Houston do it as well.
- 4:48Speaker 5: Well, I don't think they need it.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Oh yes they Oh yes they do. Listen, my guy.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Houston was ranked when West Virginia came in before losing
- 4:59Speaker 4: that game. They're ranked now, Yes, they're back in the
- 5:02Speaker 4: rankings out, but they were ranked then before falling out
- 5:05Speaker 4: of the rankings after losing that game, and nobody was there. Like,
- 5:09Speaker 4: I get it, you're an Aggie fan, so you don't
- 5:11Speaker 4: really focus on what happens down there, but I do.
- 5:13Speaker 4: And people were jumping all over Houston for having so
- 5:16Speaker 4: many empty seats, and people were going to the ad
- 5:20Speaker 4: like saying, this is what's wrong. I mean, the parking
- 5:23Speaker 4: is like fifty dollars and you have to park way off.
- 5:26Speaker 4: It is ridiculous.
- 5:28Speaker 5: That's the problem with See, that's why I hate colleges
- 5:31Speaker 5: that are in the big cities, that are big cities
- 5:33Speaker 5: because of big cities, not because of the college. Like
- 5:35Speaker 5: College Station is growing and getting bigger because of Texas
- 5:38Speaker 5: A and M right, and it's a nice place to live.
- 5:41Speaker 5: But like that likes SMU being in Dallas or Fort
- 5:45Speaker 5: Worth whatever. No, SMU is the one that claims Dallas
- 5:48Speaker 5: right anyway. But like any college that's in the big
- 5:51Speaker 5: metro complex like that, like it's it just never really
- 5:54Speaker 5: seemed like the kind of atmosphere that you'd want to
- 5:57Speaker 5: go for. And then also, like you said, parking lots
- 6:01Speaker 5: are going to be at a premium and there's just
- 6:02Speaker 5: not really a whole lot you can do about that.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Look I am I'm not afraid to say that Houston
- 6:08Speaker 4: as a whole is a very fair weather fan base. Sure,
- 6:10Speaker 4: not just for the school, the colleges, but the sports
- 6:14Speaker 4: teams as a whole.
- 6:15Speaker 5: Well, that's most small colleges though.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Which I mean Houston is not a college, but it's
- 6:20Speaker 4: not small either.
- 6:21Speaker 6: No.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Sure they have the ones that are kind of like,
- 6:23Speaker 5: not quite top tier. All of the fan bases are
- 6:27Speaker 5: pretty fair weather unless you're like and then you drop
- 6:30Speaker 5: down to fcs and it and it gets die hard again.
- 6:34Speaker 5: Like I know schools and the Dakota schools. I want
- 6:37Speaker 5: to go to a game up there at some point.
- 6:39Speaker 4: That would be so much fun to go to, wouldn't it.
- 6:41Speaker 4: But No, I thought that was really cool about what
- 6:44Speaker 4: Rice is doing. I would love to see other schools
- 6:46Speaker 4: do something similar to try and encourage more people to
- 6:48Speaker 4: show up, at least the ones that struggle with attendance,
- 6:51Speaker 4: you sel.
- 6:52Speaker 5: I just hope that.
- 6:53Speaker 2: So.
- 6:53Speaker 5: I think it's probably good that they're limiting it to
- 6:56Speaker 5: just the students, because if you had free beer for
- 6:58Speaker 5: the whole stadium, there'd be a bunch of people that
- 7:00Speaker 5: knew nothing about Rice football, tho woud show up just
- 7:01Speaker 5: for the free beer and it would probably turn into
- 7:04Speaker 5: a little bit of a problem. That is true, people
- 7:06Speaker 5: that don't care about at least probably the probably why
- 7:10Speaker 5: they're limiting it to students.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I that's a good way to look at it. Anyways.
- 7:15Speaker 4: All right, let's let's talk about what we have coming
- 7:18Speaker 4: up on the slate. There's a couple of big games.
- 7:19Speaker 4: I guess we'll start in the SEC. Missouri and Oklahoma
- 7:23Speaker 4: is that's probably the biggest SEC game of the weekend,
- 7:25Speaker 4: is it not?
- 7:26Speaker 5: That's how Yeah, I think so.
- 7:27Speaker 4: I think it is because most of the SEC schools
- 7:30Speaker 4: are also doing what A and M is doing and
- 7:32Speaker 4: playing somebody that they will beat easily, and then the
- 7:35Speaker 4: other ones are, like I'd.
- 7:37Speaker 5: Say, there's probably three, maybe four pretty solid games, answer solid.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Games, But this is I think the market and market
- 7:44Speaker 4: this is the marquis one of the weekend for sure.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Which Missouri is. I mean, they're one of the better
- 7:51Speaker 4: defenses in college football. I think they're I think they're
- 7:55Speaker 4: up there too though, Yes, that is true. Missouri is
- 8:00Speaker 4: win three against ranked teams this season, so it's.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Kind of a common theme with the Missouri Yeah, I.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Mean, they they're they're they're kind of a downhill run
- 8:11Speaker 4: first type of team a mode hardy. His legs need
- 8:15Speaker 4: to be yes, very production just in this game, or people.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Forget that he's just a sophomore. He's got another whole
- 8:20Speaker 5: other year.
- 8:21Speaker 4: What did he run for like three hundred yards? Was
- 8:23Speaker 4: it against Mississippi State last year? It was a lot.
- 8:26Speaker 4: I mean they're the number six rushing offense in the nation,
- 8:29Speaker 4: so they could be very productive, but if they don't
- 8:32Speaker 4: get that ground game going.
- 8:33Speaker 5: Against Mississippi State, he had twenty five carries for three
- 8:36Speaker 5: hundred yards and three touchdowns.
- 8:38Speaker 4: That's insane.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Twelve yards of carry. Yeah, that's bananas. So that but
- 8:43Speaker 5: that's like he was the only part of the Missouri
- 8:45Speaker 5: offense that could do anything against anything.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Well, and that's Missouri's problem because they if their run
- 8:51Speaker 4: game doesn't go, then nothing else works for them either.
- 8:53Speaker 5: I mean, went, he had eight point four yards per
- 8:55Speaker 5: carry against them, I mean yeah, but their entire office
- 8:58Speaker 5: else was anytime they tried to throw the ball, they
- 9:00Speaker 5: were cooked.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's their entire offense revolves around what he
- 9:04Speaker 4: can do. Because if he can't do anything, then they
- 9:07Speaker 4: don't do anything.
- 9:08Speaker 7: Well.
- 9:08Speaker 5: Yeah, like the Auburn game when they had to go
- 9:10Speaker 5: to double overtime. Auburn held him to only two and
- 9:12Speaker 5: zero point four yards per carry and they were get
- 9:15Speaker 5: They gave him the ball twenty four times and he
- 9:17Speaker 5: could only get fifty eight yards. Well that was that
- 9:19Speaker 5: was what kept Auburn in that game.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Well, unfortunately for Missouri, Oklahoma is the number three run
- 9:28Speaker 4: defense in the country.
- 9:29Speaker 5: No, it'll be an interesting strength versus strength matchup for sure.
- 9:33Speaker 5: So yeah, to say the least.
- 9:35Speaker 4: And Oklahoma they're coming off the win over Alabama, which
- 9:39Speaker 4: you know what they proved me. I did not pick
- 9:41Speaker 4: Oklahoma to win that game.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Think.
- 9:43Speaker 4: I don't think very many people did.
- 9:45Speaker 2: You know.
- 9:46Speaker 4: I thought Alabama had revenge on their mind.
- 9:48Speaker 5: So absolutely Oklahoma. IM going to Tuscalosa and doing that
- 9:52Speaker 5: is really impan.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Yeah, Oklahoma absolutely impressed me last week. So I don't know,
- 9:57Speaker 4: I don't really see scenario where Missouri wins this game.
- 10:02Speaker 5: I could see it happening. I could see it happens
- 10:05Speaker 5: being unstoppable. But one thing I know for sure is
- 10:09Speaker 5: take the under.
- 10:10Speaker 4: I mean, yes, Missouri's defense is very legit. Oklahoma's defense
- 10:13Speaker 4: is legit, as you said, but I just I lean
- 10:16Speaker 4: more into what oklahol I mean Oklahoma's I lean more
- 10:21Speaker 4: because it's just like, as I was saying, if Ahmad
- 10:23Speaker 4: Hardy can't do anything, I just don't know that Missouri
- 10:26Speaker 4: has any other answers.
- 10:27Speaker 5: Yeah, what's really interesting to me is that this spread
- 10:29Speaker 5: has been bet down. Oklahoma opened as a nine and
- 10:31Speaker 5: a half point favorite. Now they're down to just six
- 10:33Speaker 5: and a half point favorite. So maybe the betters know
- 10:36Speaker 5: something we don't know. Maybe, which is always a possibility.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Dude, Vegas always knows more than everybody.
- 10:42Speaker 5: Vegas said it at nine and a half those what
- 10:44Speaker 5: I'm saying, and it's been bet down. Okay, yeah, okay,
- 10:47Speaker 5: so it's interesting. I'm not sure what's going on there.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, I agree with you about taking the under.
- 10:51Speaker 4: I mean, this is low scoring, probably ugly tight game.
- 10:54Speaker 5: Yeah, this is going to be similar to that Vanderbilt
- 10:56Speaker 5: Missouri game that was seventeen to ten.
- 10:57Speaker 4: But yeah, I like the Oklahoma defense in this one
- 11:01Speaker 4: more so. I think Oklahoma takes care of business in
- 11:03Speaker 4: this game. Yeah, I agree, And then I mean we
- 11:07Speaker 4: we can briefly talk about the other I mean, who else.
- 11:09Speaker 5: To Texas and Arkansas. That's a that's a trap game.
- 11:12Speaker 5: That's a trap Texas is ready for that. I remember
- 11:15Speaker 5: how Arkansas scared A and M. Yeah, so I don't
- 11:19Speaker 5: know if Texas can keep up with Arkansas's offense. I
- 11:21Speaker 5: really don't. Arkansas has put up some points.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean the game is in Austin, so the Texas,
- 11:28Speaker 4: but I wish it was an eleven am game.
- 11:31Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a two thirty. Then they would just not
- 11:33Speaker 5: be ready for it at all. That would make for
- 11:36Speaker 5: a lot of fun, wouldn't It would? But no, I
- 11:38Speaker 5: kind of I kind of feel where you're going with
- 11:40Speaker 5: that one. And then you had you have a Kentucky
- 11:43Speaker 5: is it Vanderbilt?
- 11:44Speaker 4: Kentucky Vanderbilt? And then who is Florida playing Tennessee?
- 11:48Speaker 5: Tennessee and Florida that's right, Okay, that'll be an interesting game.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Yeah, that'll be an interesting game.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Florida can get up off the met but I don't know.
- 11:54Speaker 5: I mean, okay, the funniest possible scenario the six forty
- 11:58Speaker 5: five game on SEC network is LSU Western Kentucky. Western
- 12:01Speaker 5: Kentucky is eight and two. LSU doesn't have a coach
- 12:05Speaker 5: like that. If you want a crazy money line, bet
- 12:10Speaker 5: I don't know if I wouldn't.
- 12:11Speaker 4: Just twenty two and a half on LSU being favored
- 12:13Speaker 4: in that one.
- 12:14Speaker 5: The money line is plus twelve hundred for Western Kentucky.
- 12:18Speaker 5: You put five dollars on it, but you never know
- 12:20Speaker 5: you could win like six hundred bucks.
- 12:23Speaker 4: I might do that. I mean it's five bucks, dude,
- 12:26Speaker 4: I mean I.
- 12:26Speaker 5: Know LSU Western Kentucky. But it would be hilarious.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Yes it would.
- 12:31Speaker 5: And I don't think it's gonna happen.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Just I don't think it's going to happen either. This
- 12:33Speaker 4: is not a betting show. Now, it is not a
- 12:35Speaker 4: betting show. We are just uh and do not expect
- 12:37Speaker 4: us to actually bet on any of the bets we
- 12:39Speaker 4: bring up here.
- 12:40Speaker 5: Don't expect us to know what we're talking about either. Yeah, exactly.
- 12:43Speaker 5: This is another big game outside of the SEC.
- 12:45Speaker 4: But you do have USC and Oregon as well, which
- 12:49Speaker 4: is that's going to be a very probably one of
- 12:51Speaker 4: the that in Missouri Oklahoma are probably the two biggest matchups.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I mean Oregon. They're they're also very legit defense.
- 13:00Speaker 4: They got the number one pass defense in the nation,
- 13:04Speaker 4: so that that game against USC, this is one where
- 13:07Speaker 4: I probably am going to take Oregon.
- 13:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I think Oregon's probably going to go ahead and
- 13:14Speaker 5: eliminate USC from playoff contention. USC is still alive they
- 13:17Speaker 5: win this game, I think they pretty much are in,
- 13:21Speaker 5: but I don't think that they have the juice to
- 13:23Speaker 5: upset Oregon.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Yeah, and I mean you look at Oregon and where
- 13:27Speaker 4: they are at so far. I mean, I feel like
- 13:29Speaker 4: Oregon is kind of still looking for that signature win
- 13:33Speaker 4: because you thought it was Penn State, but then Penn
- 13:35Speaker 4: State kind of unraveled. They lost to Indiana. So Oregon,
- 13:41Speaker 4: if they don't win this one, then you know who
- 13:43Speaker 4: do they have less? It's Washington. So I think Oregon
- 13:47Speaker 4: wants that signature win. So I think Oregon at home, I.
- 13:50Speaker 5: Think they'll get it done. It's really tough to go
- 13:52Speaker 5: into autsin Stadium and beat Oregon. Indiana doing it was
- 13:56Speaker 5: really impressive, and that's you know why they're still number two.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Oh yeah, for sure. And that's again why part of
- 14:01Speaker 4: the reason why I didn't have a problem with Indiana
- 14:03Speaker 4: still being ranked ahead of Texas A and M, even
- 14:05Speaker 4: though I kind of still have a problem with Ohio
- 14:07Speaker 4: State being above all.
- 14:09Speaker 5: I think Ohio State deserves number one. My thought on
- 14:11Speaker 5: the rankings is preseason, you should have the national champion,
- 14:15Speaker 5: unless there's some crazy circumstances.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Mean, if they roster turnover, like yeah.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Like Michigan that year when they were ranked tenth after
- 14:21Speaker 5: winning it, that made sense because I mean Michigan, you
- 14:24Speaker 5: could tell that they were about to fall apart, lost
- 14:26Speaker 5: their coach, lost like almost the whole roster. That made sense.
- 14:30Speaker 5: Ohio State, they did have a new quarterback, so we
- 14:35Speaker 5: weren't sure what Julian Sayin was going to be and
- 14:37Speaker 5: he's been one of the best quarterbacks in the country.
- 14:39Speaker 5: He's got the highest completion percentage of anybody. It's like
- 14:42Speaker 5: eighty percent. It's crazy. So yeah, I think I'm fine
- 14:45Speaker 5: with them being number one, and then who's two and three?
- 14:48Speaker 5: It doesn't really matter because when conference championships come around,
- 14:52Speaker 5: if A and M wins the SEC, they're going to
- 14:54Speaker 5: be the two seed, and then whoever wins the Big
- 14:56Speaker 5: Ten will probably be the one seed. So I don't
- 14:58Speaker 5: think it really matters that much right now who's two
- 15:00Speaker 5: and three as long as you take care of business
- 15:03Speaker 5: because one, two, three, four is going to be Big
- 15:07Speaker 5: ten winner SEC winner and then Big Ten loser SEC loser,
- 15:11Speaker 5: So it doesn't really matter.
- 15:12Speaker 4: You don't think Texas Tech could sneak into that fourth
- 15:15Speaker 4: maybe if like Alabama wins it, if they get in
- 15:18Speaker 4: the SEC Championship, and or if Alabama gets in the
- 15:21Speaker 4: SEC Championship and loses, then maybe Texas Tech jumps into fourth.
- 15:24Speaker 5: Maybe, but I think they might just give it to
- 15:26Speaker 5: Georgia at that point.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Yeah, Texas Tech is, Uh, they're in kind.
- 15:29Speaker 5: Of a weird spot because if they lost to Arizona
- 15:31Speaker 5: State and that's you know.
- 15:33Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, but they didn't have their starter, their
- 15:35Speaker 4: backup played that game, so you can't.
- 15:38Speaker 5: The game the starter came back.
- 15:40Speaker 4: No, no, no, I believe it was Will Hammond that's
- 15:42Speaker 4: played that game for Texas Tech. I don't think they
- 15:43Speaker 4: had their starter in that game, so I kind of
- 15:45Speaker 4: I don't put too much stock into that loss. So
- 15:48Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean, Texas Tech, they're they're spending
- 15:50Speaker 4: a lot of money. They're a team that could makes there.
- 15:54Speaker 4: They're a team that could win some games. I don't
- 15:56Speaker 4: know that they're better than the four teams ahead of
- 15:58Speaker 4: them right now. I think they could Pete. I don't know.
- 16:01Speaker 4: We'll see.
- 16:01Speaker 5: It's gonna be interesting to see what they do. That's
- 16:03Speaker 5: probably the team that is got the most high ceiling.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Look, I mean this is the first year you know
- 16:08Speaker 4: that we're seeing their formula and what they've done as
- 16:11Speaker 4: far as going into the transfer portal and paint all
- 16:14Speaker 4: these guys. So we don't know how it's gonna work.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I mean, it's worked pretty well so far form but
- 16:18Speaker 4: the Big Twelve is not a very strong conference top
- 16:20Speaker 4: to bottom, so I don't know. We'll see. Anyways, we
- 16:23Speaker 4: have a Chip and Tony coming up, so let's go
- 16:26Speaker 4: ahead and listen to what they have to say.
- 16:30Speaker 6: Welcome to the Aggie Football Preview featuring Tony Katalina of
- 16:33Speaker 6: the Austin American Statesman and your host Chip Howard. The
- 16:37Speaker 6: Aggi Football Preview is presented by Slavatric Sausage and one
- 16:41Speaker 6: above Pest Control.
- 16:45Speaker 1: We're gonna jump out to the Players Fund Center phone
- 16:47Speaker 1: line and visit with Tony Catalina of the Austin American Statesman. Tony,
- 16:52Speaker 1: we're gonna spend time talking about last week, We'll spend
- 16:56Speaker 1: time talking about next week. I don't know if we're
- 16:58Speaker 1: talking about tomorrow's game at all.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it's you know, if A and M does what
- 17:03Speaker 2: they're supposed to do, this should be a cruise controlled
- 17:05Speaker 2: type of game. Yeah, I don't expect any craziness altness
- 17:10Speaker 2: like we saw the week prior. But you know, it's
- 17:12Speaker 2: another opponent and IM's gonna find a way to go
- 17:14Speaker 2: handle business.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I think you were in Bucky's postgame after the scraping
- 17:21Speaker 1: against Montana and he mentioned he was going to tell
- 17:24Speaker 1: coach Elko he doesn't know if he can keep it
- 17:26Speaker 1: under a hundred, but would he please keep it under
- 17:28Speaker 1: a thousand?
- 17:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's the sentiment. And that was a
- 17:32Speaker 2: really funny quote. And yeah, I think that's the sentiment.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Here the A and M is head and shoulders better
- 17:37Speaker 2: than Sanford and hopefully you get out of this game
- 17:40Speaker 2: on skate injury wise, and he just handled business and
- 17:42Speaker 2: move on to the next week.
- 17:43Speaker 1: So let's go back to the South Carolina game. What
- 17:47Speaker 1: the heck happened last Saturday?
- 17:50Speaker 2: Man, it really was the tailor two has right. You
- 17:52Speaker 2: saw the worst of A and M in the first half,
- 17:54Speaker 2: and you saw the absolute best of them in the
- 17:56Speaker 2: second half. You know, for me, I look at it
- 17:58Speaker 2: and I say, this is just as far as I'm
- 18:01Speaker 2: going to send another mark of a really good football
- 18:03Speaker 2: team for you to play the worst you possibly can,
- 18:06Speaker 2: and to come out there and play near flawless perfect
- 18:09Speaker 2: football in the second half, to find a way a game,
- 18:11Speaker 2: to win a game that you really have no business
- 18:13Speaker 2: winning the way it started. It's just another character, you know,
- 18:17Speaker 2: culture bump in my in my eyes for Mikelco in
- 18:20Speaker 2: the program they're building.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I thought it was interesting about Elko asking he said, look,
- 18:26Speaker 1: our first two series were good. He didn't think that
- 18:30Speaker 1: they were not ready to play. I thought maybe they
- 18:33Speaker 1: were not ready to play with the drop passes and
- 18:36Speaker 1: the mistakes and spray and the football everywhere, and but
- 18:40Speaker 1: but he had a little bit different take on that.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean early on, I think he had some merit.
- 18:46Speaker 2: They had a couple of chunk plays, They had some
- 18:49Speaker 2: things kind of go their way early and then it
- 18:51Speaker 2: kind of just, you know, fell to the wayside a
- 18:53Speaker 2: little bit, and you know, I lost in all this
- 18:55Speaker 2: is I want to give credit to the way South
- 18:57Speaker 2: Carolina came out and game planned. Obviously, Leonoris is somebody
- 19:00Speaker 2: who gashed them on the ground and through the air
- 19:03Speaker 2: in twenty twenty four. He did something similar in the
- 19:05Speaker 2: first half. The defense had a really good plan for
- 19:08Speaker 2: Marcel reading the passing game, and you know, for them
- 19:10Speaker 2: to come out there and have a solid plan early on,
- 19:13Speaker 2: it really looked like a team that came in and inspired,
- 19:15Speaker 2: ready to you know, win an upset. And but you know,
- 19:19Speaker 2: credit all the credit in the world for A and
- 19:21Speaker 2: M to kind of correct the correct the thing, find
- 19:23Speaker 2: a way and have time to come out and be
- 19:24Speaker 2: the better team that they were. And man, it's just
- 19:27Speaker 2: really really bizarre how it all unfolded. But for A
- 19:29Speaker 2: and M it was ended up being a good win
- 19:31Speaker 2: they needed it.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Is this the kind of game that's gonna haunt Shane
- 19:36Speaker 1: Bamer's career?
- 19:37Speaker 2: I think so. I mean, anytime you go in to
- 19:40Speaker 2: halftime up thirty to three, you know, you're pumping your
- 19:43Speaker 2: arms into the crowd, You're you're running into the tunnel,
- 19:45Speaker 2: feeling really good about yourself, and then your team lays
- 19:48Speaker 2: an egg completely in the second half and gets dominated
- 19:51Speaker 2: in every single way, even more so than the team
- 19:53Speaker 2: did you know, dominated the other team in the first half.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Its that's just really that's a really tough pill to swallow.
- 20:00Speaker 2: That's one of those games where you probably think about
- 20:02Speaker 2: ten to fifteen years so now.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Honestly, so let's talk about perhaps of future benefits of
- 20:10Speaker 1: what happened last week. Obviously the team is confident they
- 20:13Speaker 1: can come from behind, and they come from way behind.
- 20:17Speaker 1: But I'm not sure they want to get behind in
- 20:20Speaker 1: the playoffs to any playoff team thirty to three.
- 20:24Speaker 2: No, I think. I mean, we've talked about it all
- 20:26Speaker 2: season long, like learning lessons in victory is the way
- 20:29Speaker 2: to go about it, right, You don't want to take
- 20:31Speaker 2: a loss and learn that lesson. But you know, I
- 20:34Speaker 2: think this is a wake up call. I think this
- 20:36Speaker 2: is a team who understands now if they didn't already before, Like,
- 20:40Speaker 2: if you sleepwalk through anything, you can get beaten. It
- 20:43Speaker 2: doesn't matter who you play, doesn't matter what the situation is.
- 20:46Speaker 2: If you don't bring out and be focused and play
- 20:49Speaker 2: your best football, you can be beat And when you go,
- 20:52Speaker 2: like you mentioned, into the playoffs, there's going to be
- 20:55Speaker 2: better teams in South Carolina. They're going to be teams
- 20:58Speaker 2: who have talent across the board. It can beat both
- 21:00Speaker 2: sides of the football. And they're not going to, you know,
- 21:02Speaker 2: take big foot off the guest pedal, or your're not
- 21:04Speaker 2: going to be able to do some crazy things. So
- 21:06Speaker 2: if they don't come out and play their best brand
- 21:08Speaker 2: of football, especially as it gets late in the season.
- 21:10Speaker 2: It could go ahead and invite them and they may
- 21:13Speaker 2: not be able to recover there.
- 21:16Speaker 1: How much do you think they've been working on their
- 21:18Speaker 1: Texas game plan this week?
- 21:21Speaker 2: I think it's if they won't admit it, I bet
- 21:23Speaker 2: you they're definitely starting to focus on it. You know,
- 21:26Speaker 2: this is a game against Stanford, all due respect to
- 21:28Speaker 2: an opponent, but you should be able to go out
- 21:30Speaker 2: there and just win Vanilla, right, Just don't do anything crazy.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Maybe pat some stats for Marcel reading his Heisman conversation
- 21:37Speaker 2: and as the candidcy there, but get out of this
- 21:40Speaker 2: getting healthy, find a way to just have your athletes
- 21:42Speaker 2: be better than their athletes. And obviously, yeah, you're peeking
- 21:46Speaker 2: over to Texas a little bit, and I think they're
- 21:48Speaker 2: right to do. So.
- 21:49Speaker 1: We'll continue with Tony Catalina after this for Slovactic Sausage
- 21:54Speaker 1: and one above Pest Control.

- 22:51Speaker 9: Snook Wild Game at Slavatic Sausage and Snook Sausage Experts
- 22:55Speaker 9: since nineteen fifty seven.
- 22:57Speaker 1: We're visiting on the player's fun center phone line with
- 22:59Speaker 1: the rider for the Austin American Statesman. The Aggies are
- 23:02Speaker 1: hosting Samford. The other thing that Bucky said is this
- 23:08Speaker 1: is where we got our basketball coach.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I like that yet, Yeah, keep that in mind. You know,
- 23:16Speaker 2: when things look you look up in the score is astronomical.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Just you know, show a little grace because now we
- 23:22Speaker 2: got the basketball coach, and I mean Bucky, Bucky is
- 23:24Speaker 2: full of one liners. After that, after that game, and
- 23:26Speaker 2: it was pretty farny to cover.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I noticed that Elko said Bryce Anderson will not play
- 23:34Speaker 1: these next couple of games.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yes, we won't play a couple of games. And honestly,
- 23:39Speaker 2: for A and M, if you're thinking about the future,
- 23:41Speaker 2: it's a pretty good thing because he'll be able to
- 23:43Speaker 2: preserve his his red shirt and'll be able to come
- 23:45Speaker 2: back next season, be another veteran presidence in that safety room. Now,
- 23:48Speaker 2: I mean he was the starter, a guy who is
- 23:50Speaker 2: a big piece there. And what's even cool, I mean,
- 23:53Speaker 2: even better than that, is the fact that once they
- 23:55Speaker 2: do get to the playoffs in the postseason and really
- 23:57Speaker 2: get on this run here, he can't come back and
- 24:00Speaker 2: won't affect his eligibility. So it's almost like A and
- 24:02Speaker 2: M is getting the two for one and they're turning up.
- 24:04Speaker 2: You know, a tough situation where you get injured in
- 24:06Speaker 2: a scary situation, but finding a way to find it
- 24:09Speaker 2: positive for that and keep them within the program.
- 24:11Speaker 1: On the conference media call early in the week, El
- 24:14Speaker 1: Elco made this statement about strength of schedule and strength
- 24:19Speaker 1: of record that if, if, if it's not going to
- 24:21Speaker 1: be taken into account in the playoff system, what's the
- 24:25Speaker 1: point And more importantly, why are we adding a ninth
- 24:28Speaker 1: conference game?
- 24:31Speaker 2: I mean, SEC is a gauntlet. I think everybody understands
- 24:34Speaker 2: this is the most complete top to bottom conference in
- 24:36Speaker 2: all the football and you know you're going to play
- 24:39Speaker 2: a tough schedule. Now add a ninth game to that,
- 24:41Speaker 2: it just makes it even more daunting. And to his point,
- 24:44Speaker 2: if you're not going to respect that, and I'm not
- 24:46Speaker 2: saying to come in with some SEC bias and I'm
- 24:49Speaker 2: not saying that they should get preferential treatment, but you
- 24:51Speaker 2: god to look at the pull the whole picture in totality,
- 24:53Speaker 2: look at the look at the slated games they got
- 24:56Speaker 2: to play, and then put it against other conferences and
- 24:59Speaker 2: just see, you know, how's it shake out. And I
- 25:02Speaker 2: think in more cases than not, it's gonna benefit an
- 25:04Speaker 2: SEC team. It's going to benefited team like A and M.
- 25:07Speaker 2: And if that's not in the metrics, then then it's
- 25:10Speaker 2: really not worth it at all.
- 25:13Speaker 1: What do you think about Leveon Mosh You think he
- 25:15Speaker 1: might be ready for Texas next week?
- 25:18Speaker 2: Well, if you ask, you know, I got the Mike
- 25:21Speaker 2: elcoach short answer on today about that. But when I asked,
- 25:24Speaker 2: you know, he said yep. When I asked him if
- 25:26Speaker 2: you'd be ready for the regular season, there was a
- 25:29Speaker 2: little glimpse into the pulse that was released on Wednesday
- 25:33Speaker 2: that it looked like Le'Veon was in uniform practicing. So
- 25:36Speaker 2: I do feel like, you know, obviously, I think that
- 25:38Speaker 2: the safe thing is probably not to play him against Sanford,
- 25:41Speaker 2: but I think there is a chance that he could
- 25:43Speaker 2: be out there for Texas. But there remains to be
- 25:45Speaker 2: seen because they definitely be tight lip about it.
- 25:47Speaker 1: We'll probably talk more about this next week, but we
- 25:50Speaker 1: have been discussing the benefits and the drawbacks of not
- 25:55Speaker 1: being in the SEC Championship game. It's going to be
- 26:01Speaker 1: extremely difficult as I read everything, and if everything works
- 26:06Speaker 1: out for A and M to get to that game,
- 26:09Speaker 1: if they were to lose next week.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funky. It really is a couple of situations.
- 26:15Speaker 2: It's it's really bizarre, right because you could sit here
- 26:18Speaker 2: and potentially be eleven and zero going into the final week,
- 26:20Speaker 2: and if you don't finish the regular season perfect, this
- 26:23Speaker 2: is a real chance that you're not going to be
- 26:25Speaker 2: in that game. So it's really funny to see how
- 26:28Speaker 2: it might all shake out in the final week.
- 26:30Speaker 1: All right, We will visit next Wednesday with Tony on
- 26:33Speaker 1: the short week and the Aggie Football Preview is brought
- 26:37Speaker 1: to you by Slavacc Sausage and one above Pest Control.

- 29:25Speaker 8: You can hear Aggie football on the zones.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Szone eleven fifteen ninety three point seven FM is Ryan
- 29:34Speaker 4: and Caleb on a Friday. Oh Man, time to talk
- 29:39Speaker 4: a little NFL. Now, we will get into the game
- 29:43Speaker 4: that we witnessed last night, the absolute demolition of Josh
- 29:47Speaker 4: Allen at NRG Stadium, where war crimes were committed against
- 29:50Speaker 4: that man.
- 29:51Speaker 7: Before we do that, though, you know, the the most
- 29:57Speaker 7: hated NFL team in the country is not the Chiefs,
- 30:00Speaker 7: at least per per the data.
- 30:02Speaker 4: No, it's not the Cowboys either, actually Patriots. No, it's
- 30:06Speaker 4: in the Cowboys division, which means you probably guess who
- 30:08Speaker 4: it is.
- 30:09Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, I'm kind of surprised it's not the Patriots,
- 30:12Speaker 5: just because of how they're already basically fully back to.
- 30:17Speaker 4: I will say they they posted a map of each
- 30:21Speaker 4: state and overlaid it with what teams each state hates
- 30:25Speaker 4: the most, and I guess they interviewed, they surveyed people
- 30:30Speaker 4: in some form.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Uh.
- 30:32Speaker 4: They found that the Philadelphia Eagles are the most hated
- 30:35Speaker 4: teams in thirteen states including Texas. That checks out, followed
- 30:40Speaker 4: by the Las Vegas Raiders. That's so random, which is
- 30:44Speaker 4: very random to me. I don't understand why they're so hated.
- 30:47Speaker 4: Then you have a tie between the New York Jets
- 30:49Speaker 4: and Green Bay Packers at number three, hated the most
- 30:54Speaker 4: in six different states. And then you have a tie
- 30:56Speaker 4: between the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers behind interesting. Now,
- 31:01Speaker 4: I will say that this information was published by a
- 31:05Speaker 4: Canadian sports betting site, so take it with a grain
- 31:10Speaker 4: of salt, because Canadian, Yeah, they don't play real football
- 31:16Speaker 4: up there.
- 31:18Speaker 5: Anyway, People that would be very very disagree with you
- 31:21Speaker 5: on that.
- 31:22Speaker 4: All right, it just happened to break up.
- 31:24Speaker 5: They're championship. I think that was the last week Saskatchywan
- 31:29Speaker 5: Rough Riders won.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Okay, all right, maybe I need to give that another chance. Anyways,
- 31:35Speaker 4: Now season's over. Yeah, yeah, no, the season's over. I
- 31:38Speaker 4: can watch highlights. I'm kidding. I'm not gonna sit down.
- 31:42Speaker 5: And watch FOB.
- 31:44Speaker 12: Four.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Yes, that is correct. It is strange to say the least,
- 31:49Speaker 4: is it not. Anyways, Wow, last night.
- 31:54Speaker 5: I did not watch the game.
- 31:55Speaker 4: Oh I did.
- 31:55Speaker 5: I was playing softball.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Oh.
- 31:58Speaker 4: I watched the game, and I was first off, very
- 32:02Speaker 4: shocked at what I witnessed.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I think everybody was.
- 32:05Speaker 4: I I didn't pick the tap. I thought we were
- 32:07Speaker 4: gonna get like destroyed in this game. I was like, oh,
- 32:09Speaker 4: we're gonna lose. We're gonna lose by twenty. I mean,
- 32:12Speaker 4: awful game. YadA, YadA, YadA, YadA. And of course, the
- 32:15Speaker 4: news earlier before the game even happened, we had the
- 32:18Speaker 4: report from Iron Rapaport saying that Joe Mixon was not
- 32:22Speaker 4: expected to play at all this season, and then Joe
- 32:24Speaker 4: Mixon hops on his Twitter and quote tweets it and
- 32:27Speaker 4: is like, how do you know more than I do?
- 32:29Speaker 4: I and like the feud in the whole thing, get
- 32:31Speaker 4: your Man's like, yeah, so I don't know.
- 32:34Speaker 5: Defel players on Twitter is always hilarious.
- 32:37Speaker 4: So maybe there's still a chance. I don't know it
- 32:39Speaker 4: was reported not, but Joe Mixon sure seems to want
- 32:42Speaker 4: to make it sound like there is a chance he'll play. Nonetheless,
- 32:45Speaker 4: I really like what I like what I've seen out
- 32:47Speaker 4: of Woody Marks. Yeah, it's so random. He came out
- 32:50Speaker 4: of nowhere.
- 32:50Speaker 5: He's been solid on a team that had Joe Mixon
- 32:53Speaker 5: and Nick Chubb. I don't think anybody expected Woody Marks
- 32:56Speaker 5: to have a breakout.
- 32:57Speaker 4: He ran the ball, but I don't have a statistics
- 32:59Speaker 4: you it up what he run for last sixteen carries
- 33:02Speaker 4: seventy four yards.
- 33:02Speaker 5: That's pretty hard.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Okay, not a bad game. I mean for sixteen carries
- 33:05Speaker 4: seventy four yards is fine.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Yeah, six yards and carry, that's that's fine.
- 33:09Speaker 4: The offense was nothing special, especially in the second half
- 33:13Speaker 4: where it was pretty much Mia. But the defense last
- 33:16Speaker 4: night is really I knew that. I've always been a
- 33:18Speaker 4: believer in the Texans defense, but last night even blew
- 33:22Speaker 4: my expectations out of the water. I mean, they had
- 33:25Speaker 4: Josh Allen in Living Hell.
- 33:29Speaker 5: I think that's one of the worst games he's played.
- 33:31Speaker 4: They like, they had him locked down all night long.
- 33:36Speaker 4: Eight sacks, which I think I read was a career
- 33:38Speaker 4: high in sacks taken by him. I mean that dude
- 33:43Speaker 4: was just rattled the whole night long.
- 33:45Speaker 5: And I think you got to shout out the offensive
- 33:47Speaker 5: line for the Texans because they that's been one of
- 33:49Speaker 5: the biggest weaknesses that they single sack.
- 33:51Speaker 4: They did not give up a single sack. They protected
- 33:54Speaker 4: Davis Mills very well, and so I think that's still
- 33:58Speaker 4: really mid. But he was still very mid. Davis Mills
- 34:00Speaker 4: over threw a lot of guys last night. He overthrew
- 34:04Speaker 4: some guys, he under threw some guys, but he got
- 34:07Speaker 4: a little bit done in the first half at least,
- 34:09Speaker 4: which thankfully is all we needed.
- 34:10Speaker 5: But the second quarter mostly, the.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Second quarter mostly money Mills. He'll pick a quarter to
- 34:15Speaker 4: be good in and suck the rest of the game.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Apparently that's how it coast pretty much.
- 34:18Speaker 5: I think I think he's probably played himself into a
- 34:21Speaker 5: job next year somewhere.
- 34:23Speaker 4: I mean, well, no, because they Texans gave him a contract,
- 34:26Speaker 4: uh for at least yeah, I because I read about it.
- 34:30Speaker 4: I was at the Jacksonville game, the one where he
- 34:32Speaker 4: made that big comeback and it was posted online that day.
- 34:35Speaker 4: I think so, I I think he's with the Texans
- 34:38Speaker 4: for at least another year. I don't remember. Yeah, it's
- 34:40Speaker 4: like a seven million Yeah. So they've got him locked
- 34:44Speaker 4: up and he's a serviceable backup.
- 34:46Speaker 5: He the guy did his There's a reason he's stuck
- 34:49Speaker 5: around his whole career with the Texans. He them.
- 34:52Speaker 4: He won the games he started, I mean thanks to
- 34:55Speaker 4: the defense mostly. I mean, I'll give him credit for
- 34:58Speaker 4: that Jacksonville game. I was crazy come back he pulled
- 35:00Speaker 4: off there. This is the second year in a row.
- 35:01Speaker 4: They've signed him to a one year extension. But dude,
- 35:05Speaker 4: Will Anderson and Daniel Hunter are just a two man
- 35:09Speaker 4: wrecking crew. Like they had Josh Allen running for his
- 35:15Speaker 4: life and there was what was the play where Will
- 35:17Speaker 4: Anderson was about to take Josh Allen down and then
- 35:21Speaker 4: Josh Allen kind of slipped out of his grasp, but
- 35:23Speaker 4: Will Anderson just like chased him to the sideline and
- 35:25Speaker 4: then backwards before finishing off.
- 35:27Speaker 5: I mean, great draft class.
- 35:30Speaker 4: That man is relentless.
- 35:32Speaker 5: And then I don't know who let them get Stroud
- 35:34Speaker 5: and Anderson two three.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Give Bullock his Flowers too. I mean he had the interception.
- 35:41Speaker 4: I believe he made some impact, impactful plays last night.
- 35:44Speaker 4: Caitlyn Bullet did. Yeah. So that defense, if the Texans
- 35:49Speaker 4: can figure out any way to have a remotely competent offense,
- 35:55Speaker 4: figure out the red zone issues, that defense can carry
- 35:58Speaker 4: that team very far. And I'm excited to see how CJ.
- 36:03Speaker 4: Stroud will do when he comes back, because now the
- 36:05Speaker 4: Texans have ten days to rest now, so he should
- 36:07Speaker 4: be back when they go to play Indy next week.
- 36:08Speaker 5: The biggest problem for the Texans when Stroud was healthy
- 36:11Speaker 5: was the offensive line, and the offensive lines played a
- 36:13Speaker 5: lot better with Mills. So if they can keep playing
- 36:16Speaker 5: like that for Stroud, they might have a chance to compete.
- 36:19Speaker 5: I mean, they have a better record than the Chiefs. Now,
- 36:21Speaker 5: I thought that was gonna be the case going into
- 36:23Speaker 5: the season.
- 36:23Speaker 4: Well, it's a big stretch here now because the Texans
- 36:27Speaker 4: have This was the start of a three game stretch.
- 36:30Speaker 4: So they passed their first test here going on the
- 36:33Speaker 4: road to Indy, then going on the road to Kansas City,
- 36:36Speaker 4: I mean, if we can, and.
- 36:36Speaker 5: Then they got to go on the road to the
- 36:38Speaker 5: Chargers later in the year. So none of those games
- 36:40Speaker 5: are gonna be easy.
- 36:41Speaker 4: None of those games are gonna be easy. I'm not
- 36:43Speaker 4: as worried about the Chargers as I am about the
- 36:45Speaker 4: Chiefs and Colts. No disrespect to the Chargers. I think
- 36:47Speaker 4: that's going to be a really good game still, but I'd.
- 36:50Speaker 5: Be more worried about the Chargers than the Chiefs at
- 36:52Speaker 5: this point, unless you think the Chiefs are I don't know.
- 36:56Speaker 4: I have scars arrow of us having to go play
- 36:59Speaker 4: an Arrowhead. I mean, it just seems like it never
- 37:01Speaker 4: ends well for us having to go play in that
- 37:04Speaker 4: god forsaken stadium. So I call it, you know, battered
- 37:09Speaker 4: Texans syndrome, whatever you want to say. I get scared
- 37:12Speaker 4: every time I see Texans going to Arrowhead. So that's
- 37:15Speaker 4: my personal feelings on it. So I still look at
- 37:18Speaker 4: that game as a more of a tall task than
- 37:20Speaker 4: the Chargers. But again, the Chargers are at the end
- 37:23Speaker 4: of December. I mean, that's coming up on New Year's
- 37:25Speaker 4: We got four games in between now and then to
- 37:26Speaker 4: see what the Texans are gonna do, how this offensive line,
- 37:29Speaker 4: if this is just a mirage, or if they're actually
- 37:31Speaker 4: getting better, or if Davis Mills was the difference. I mean,
- 37:34Speaker 4: I will say Davis Mills, I liked seeing that he
- 37:39Speaker 4: seems to be a little bit better about getting rid
- 37:41Speaker 4: of the ball when he's gonna go down versus c. J.
- 37:43Speaker 4: Stroud just has this horrible tendency of just holding on
- 37:45Speaker 4: to the football and eating sacks like he does not
- 37:49Speaker 4: get rid of the ball. I think a lot of
- 37:50Speaker 4: times he will try and force something to happen, and
- 37:53Speaker 4: a lot of times that works to the team's detriment.
- 37:57Speaker 4: But if the offensive line can give him more time,
- 37:59Speaker 4: then that happens less often, and then more good things
- 38:03Speaker 4: happen from there. Sure, So, going on the road to Indy,
- 38:07Speaker 4: I still don't know what the Colts are, if they're
- 38:10Speaker 4: actually this good, or if they're going to come crashing
- 38:12Speaker 4: back down to earth. Who would have thought that the Broncos, Patriots,
- 38:14Speaker 4: and Colts would be the one, two, three seeds in
- 38:16Speaker 4: the NFL. Yeah, it's playoff picture right now.
- 38:18Speaker 5: Really crazy year, but yeah, my Broncos still hanging on
- 38:22Speaker 5: with the one seed.
- 38:23Speaker 4: That they are. The Texans are up to a forty
- 38:25Speaker 4: nine percent chance to make the playoffs. Their first team
- 38:29Speaker 4: outside of the wild card spot. Jacksonville sits at six
- 38:32Speaker 4: and four Jacksonville. I don't know how the tiebreaker would
- 38:35Speaker 4: work since we split it with them. I don't know
- 38:37Speaker 4: if they were to lose to the Cardinals this weekend
- 38:41Speaker 4: playing on the road, if we would move into that
- 38:42Speaker 4: playoff spot or not. I'd have to look at the
- 38:45Speaker 4: tiebreaker scenarios.
- 38:48Speaker 5: Yeah, normally so, the espan's NFL standings page has like
- 38:54Speaker 5: the tiebreakers listed if teams are tied, what would happen?
- 38:56Speaker 5: But right now the Jags and the Texans aren't tied.
- 38:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I could look at it. I mean I don't
- 39:02Speaker 4: it might be a division record or something.
- 39:04Speaker 5: The NFL time breakers they can confuse me.
- 39:06Speaker 4: I know, Hey, I just know head heads the first
- 39:07Speaker 4: one and we split that, so it would be whatever
- 39:09Speaker 4: it falls after that. Yeah, but there's hope. There is
- 39:12Speaker 4: still hope for this team, and that's all all I
- 39:15Speaker 4: can ask for at this point.
- 39:16Speaker 10: CJ.
- 39:16Speaker 4: Stroud will be back for the next game and we'll
- 39:18Speaker 4: see where things go from. There should be fun. AnyWho.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Cowboys Report, that's what we have coming up here. Cowboys Report,
- 39:28Speaker 4: and then we are going to do our police reports
- 39:30Speaker 4: as we do to close off the five o'clock hour
- 39:32Speaker 4: and the show each Friday that is coming up in
- 39:35Speaker 4: just a couple of minutes. Let's get into it.
- 39:38Speaker 5: Cowboys Report brought to you by Shorlty Roofing and Decker Financial.
- 39:41Speaker 13: It was after a hailstorm a few years back. I
- 39:43Speaker 13: needed a new roof. Yeah, I shopped around and then
- 39:46Speaker 13: I found Shorlty Roofing, and boy, I'm glad I did.
- 39:48Speaker 13: The folks at Shulty guided me every step of the way.
- 39:51Speaker 13: They showed me my options. They told me what my
- 39:54Speaker 13: out of pocket cost would be after insurance. They took
- 39:56Speaker 13: the complication out of an otherwise very stressful situation. They
- 40:00Speaker 13: took off the damage roof, put on the new roof,
- 40:02Speaker 13: did all the clean up, and I had my new
- 40:04Speaker 13: roof in one deck.
- 40:05Speaker 6: Sh behold by the volley roof.
- 40:13Speaker 12: After Prescott Batch steps up in the pocket deep to
- 40:17Speaker 12: the middle, caught by Pickins on these circles left and
- 40:19Speaker 12: runs away twenty fifteen to ten cuts right touchdown. The
- 40:23Speaker 12: Raiders just quit running after it, and Peckins made an
- 40:28Speaker 12: incredibly surgical cut at about the seven yard line.
- 40:33Speaker 14: During the Dallas Cowboys dominated thirty three to sixteen point
- 40:36Speaker 14: win over the lowly Las Vegas Raiders, there was a
- 40:38Speaker 14: lot of talk about why the star duo of Ceedee
- 40:41Speaker 14: Lamb and George Pickins were benched in the first series
- 40:43Speaker 14: to start the game. It was a real today that
- 40:45Speaker 14: both Lamb and Pickens were out at the famous Red
- 40:47Speaker 14: Rock Casino past curfew, but Lamb denied the notion of
- 40:50Speaker 14: any rumor of foaming up. At seven thirty am, more
- 40:53Speaker 14: Cowboys news as quarterback Dak Prescott is dealing with a
- 40:56Speaker 14: hip issue, head coach Brian Schotenheimer noting to the media
- 40:59Speaker 14: that is not a big is shoot and will not
- 41:00Speaker 14: hold them out of Sunday's game. The four to five
- 41:02Speaker 14: to one Cowboys will host the eight and two Philadelphia

- 43:01Speaker 4: It is reserved for the police report segment where we
- 43:05Speaker 4: go through and read stories of stupid people doing stupid
- 43:08Speaker 4: things and running into trouble with the law. It's always
- 43:12Speaker 4: entertaining to hear about, isn't it. I guess I'll start
- 43:14Speaker 4: us off here, and this is actually gonna be an
- 43:16Speaker 4: international story. We'll start off with Out of Romania. We
- 43:21Speaker 4: have a Romanian prisoner who hacked the prison system and
- 43:24Speaker 4: altered these sentences for himself and fifteen other inmates.
- 43:29Speaker 5: This sounds like straight out of National Treasure. I don't
- 43:31Speaker 5: know why.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Yeah, the National Union of Penitentiary Police Officers, which I
- 43:36Speaker 4: didn't even know was a thing, revealed that the inmates
- 43:39Speaker 4: spent over three hundred hours logged into the system using
- 43:42Speaker 4: stolen credentials and reduced his own sentence by falsely recording
- 43:48Speaker 4: additional served days and manipulated financial records to make unauthorized purchases. Wow,
- 43:54Speaker 4: investigations are underway and there has been promised accountability for
- 43:59Speaker 4: all responsible parties.
- 44:00Speaker 5: That is crazy.
- 44:02Speaker 4: That's a that's a twenty twenty five crime if I've
- 44:04Speaker 4: ever heard one.
- 44:05Speaker 5: Absolutely all right, Moving in back to America. Had a
- 44:10Speaker 5: Jet Blue fight delayed. It was scheduled to fly from
- 44:13Speaker 5: Boston to Tampa. It was delayed for three hours, and
- 44:16Speaker 5: then once they took off and finally got an hour
- 44:18Speaker 5: into the fight, they had to turn around and come
- 44:20Speaker 5: back because someone vaped weed in the bathroom and the
- 44:24Speaker 5: crew inhaled it because you know, not great ventilation when
- 44:27Speaker 5: you're in a plane, it's all closed in. So one
- 44:30Speaker 5: idiot in the bathroom vaping weed and everybody had to
- 44:33Speaker 5: turn around.
- 44:34Speaker 4: So you're telling me he was smoked it in the
- 44:35Speaker 4: bathroom and then it like went through the shoh and
- 44:38Speaker 4: it made it all the way up to the cockpit.
- 44:39Speaker 4: And so the file.
- 44:40Speaker 5: Was saying that they meet. We're not sure if it
- 44:44Speaker 5: was just the flight attendants or the pilots, but either way,
- 44:48Speaker 5: that's some pretty bad etiquette. Yeah, they seated in first class.
- 44:52Speaker 5: They take that stuff very seriously. Oh yeah, so that
- 44:54Speaker 5: man is going to definitely be doing some time.
- 44:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:57Speaker 5: I did not have any information on what charges they're facing.
- 45:00Speaker 4: There will be some, for sure, absolutely. All right, let's
- 45:03Speaker 4: go to Pennsylvania where we have a Pennsylvania dog that
- 45:07Speaker 4: accidentally shot its owner after jumping on a loaded shotgun.
- 45:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:12Speaker 4: Fifty three year old man out of Pennsylvania was hospitalized
- 45:16Speaker 4: on Tuesday night after what you just heard, his dog
- 45:19Speaker 4: accidentally fired a shotgun, striking him in the lower back.
- 45:23Speaker 4: The Shillington Police received the shooting report at about eleven
- 45:27Speaker 4: thirteen pm. Officers learned a dog had quote jumped onto
- 45:32Speaker 4: the bed and set the gun off before arriving at
- 45:35Speaker 4: the scene.
- 45:36Speaker 5: There are so many levels of this.
- 45:37Speaker 4: Yeah. The victim told police he was cleaning his shotgun
- 45:40Speaker 4: and placed it on his bed before sitting down. One
- 45:42Speaker 4: of his dogs then jumped onto the bed, causing the
- 45:45Speaker 4: weapon to discharge into his back. First off, why was
- 45:49Speaker 4: the gun loaded at all?
- 45:50Speaker 5: You're cleaning your gun. That's like the first rule of
- 45:52Speaker 5: cleaning your gun is don't have it loaded.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Yeah. The man's son was home but not in the
- 45:57Speaker 4: same room during the incident. Paramedics transported the man to
- 46:01Speaker 4: a local hospital, where he immediately went into surgery for
- 46:04Speaker 4: his injuries. Hospital staff reported he underwent initial surgery but
- 46:08Speaker 4: required additional operations. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna go back
- 46:11Speaker 4: to what we just said. This guy has nobody but
- 46:13Speaker 4: himself to blame. I mean, that is just stupid if
- 46:16Speaker 4: if he left that gun loaded. Sorry, stupidity is its
- 46:19Speaker 4: own reble.
- 46:19Speaker 5: I mean, it's a freak accident, but very very very preventable.
- 46:25Speaker 5: All right, Moving into a driving incident. We had a
- 46:28Speaker 5: driver rear end somebody while attempting to urinate into a
- 46:32Speaker 5: beer can. So the rear into a Volkswagen on a
- 46:37Speaker 5: Missoula roadway Thursday evening. A highway patrol officer found him
- 46:42Speaker 5: holding the beer can, which he said contained urine and
- 46:45Speaker 5: not beer. One question, he said, he explained that he
- 46:48Speaker 5: rear into the vehicle because he was attempting to urinate
- 46:50Speaker 5: into the can while he was driving. Uh. He also
- 46:53Speaker 5: stated that he'd had more than a couple of d
- 46:55Speaker 5: UIs and was not supposed to be driving. He faces
- 46:58Speaker 5: fell and he aggravated the UI charges and it's held
- 47:00Speaker 5: on a ten thousand dollars bound.
- 47:03Speaker 4: You know, if you know you're not supposed to be
- 47:05Speaker 4: driving because you've had DUIs, I don't know that trying
- 47:09Speaker 4: to go number one and do a beer can is
- 47:11Speaker 4: the because first off.
- 47:12Speaker 5: And he was drunk like he was. That he had
- 47:14Speaker 5: slurred speech.
- 47:15Speaker 4: Ohious, yeah, I would imagine. So it takes take some
- 47:19Speaker 4: pretty good accuracy just to do that while you're not driving,
- 47:22Speaker 4: like yeah, oh.
- 47:23Speaker 5: Oh his girlfriend was in the car with them, by
- 47:25Speaker 5: the way, Oh my goodness, gracious missed that part.
- 47:27Speaker 4: Yeah, wonderful. Good for them. All right, let's see, I
- 47:30Speaker 4: guess we'll keep it with the theme of drunk drivers.
- 47:32Speaker 4: This is out of Florida. We have a man that
- 47:35Speaker 4: was pulled over in Florida last week after he was
- 47:38Speaker 4: caught driving recklessly, doing things like swerving, crossing lanes and
- 47:42Speaker 4: driving into oncoming traffic. The police stopped him and it
- 47:47Speaker 4: was very obvious that he was drunk. He couldn't stand
- 47:49Speaker 4: on his own, there were open containers in his car.
- 47:52Speaker 4: Pretty dead giveaway, right. Officer tried to check his eyes
- 47:56Speaker 4: by asking him to keep his eye on his finger,
- 47:58Speaker 4: so field sobriety test. Christopher said, that's the man of
- 48:02Speaker 4: the name that was pulled over. Quote, that's where I've
- 48:05Speaker 4: always had a problem with my my EFD. It's hard
- 48:11Speaker 4: to actually follow. The officer asked, what's your EFD. He said,
- 48:15Speaker 4: executive function disorder, or that's what executive function disorder means.
- 48:20Speaker 4: He asked, what's your EFD. He really struggled. Apparently, he
- 48:24Speaker 4: said app hyper The guy was too drunk to pronounce
- 48:27Speaker 4: his EFD. So the cop cut in and said one
- 48:31Speaker 4: of those all right, we do believe you're impaired. So
- 48:35Speaker 4: he did admit to drinking earlier in the night and
- 48:37Speaker 4: turned out he had prior convictions for DUI and a
- 48:40Speaker 4: suspended license, so he is now facing charges.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Well.
- 48:44Speaker 5: Keeping with the theme of doing dumb things well in
- 48:48Speaker 5: a vehicle, a twenty seven year old man in Illinois
- 48:51Speaker 5: was arrested after hanging his gun out the side of
- 48:55Speaker 5: an suv because he thought the women would like it.
- 48:58Speaker 5: He was in the backseat with a couple of women
- 49:01Speaker 5: that he was quote attempting to have relations with and
- 49:05Speaker 5: believed that women liked these things. He also was sounds
- 49:09Speaker 5: like a guy that's never been with a woman before. Yeah,
- 49:12Speaker 5: he had a large capacity magazine on him as well,
- 49:14Speaker 5: with thirty bullets in it hidden in his pant leg.
- 49:17Speaker 5: Turns out he's been convicted on weapons charges four separate times.
- 49:21Speaker 5: He's doing court December sixteenth. Hmmm, another Florida man.
- 49:24Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot of those, aren't there.
- 49:26Speaker 5: Oh that's Illinois. Sorry my next Oh.
- 49:28Speaker 4: Okay, I gotcha. All right, Well we'll go to We'll
- 49:31Speaker 4: go to Tennessee for this one where we have a
- 49:34Speaker 4: ten year old near Nashville stole his mom's car the
- 49:37Speaker 4: other day and managed to get his dad arrested in
- 49:40Speaker 4: the process. Yeah, this is a lot of layers to
- 49:43Speaker 4: this story as well. So the boy had been arguing
- 49:46Speaker 4: with his mom. She left him in the car while
- 49:49Speaker 4: she dropped off paperwork at his school, and when she
- 49:51Speaker 4: came back, the car was gone and so was he.
- 49:54Speaker 4: So she called the cops and reported it stolen, but
- 49:56Speaker 4: the kid was fine. It turned out he himself had
- 49:59Speaker 4: managed to drive two miles back home and even parked
- 50:02Speaker 4: it in their garage. He was inside the house when
- 50:05Speaker 4: the police got there, along with his dad. The dad
- 50:08Speaker 4: told him he was confused when his son showed up alone,
- 50:11Speaker 4: so they decided to not arrest the kid because he's
- 50:14Speaker 4: so young, but they found out that the dad had
- 50:16Speaker 4: an outstanding warrant for fraud and theft, so he got arrested.
- 50:21Speaker 5: That's really unfortunate that she just happened to find out
- 50:24Speaker 5: that he has an outstanded warrant. Outstanding warrant.
- 50:27Speaker 4: Yeah, good, good work, kiddo.
- 50:31Speaker 5: Man. Like I mentioned earlier, this is a Florida man story.
- 50:36Speaker 5: Florida man arrested after stealing forklift and an ATM for
- 50:40Speaker 5: a dawn joy ride. Tallahassee police arrested thirty eight year
- 50:43Speaker 5: old man on Monday morning after he allegedly stole a
- 50:46Speaker 5: forklift from a local school and used it to carry
- 50:49Speaker 5: away in ATM through residential neighborhoods. Officers responded to reports
- 50:53Speaker 5: of heavy machinery moving through city streets and found him
- 50:57Speaker 5: operating the forklift with the stolen ATM attached. When an
- 51:00Speaker 5: officer approach, asking what's up, bro, what y'all got going on?
- 51:03Speaker 5: Hidalgo pointed the machine, saying I dropped this thing over here,
- 51:06Speaker 5: before fleeing on foot. Police quickly apprehended him after a
- 51:09Speaker 5: brief chase. Surveillance footage captured of the ATM theft from
- 51:13Speaker 5: a business parking lot. Hidalgo faces charges including grand theft,
- 51:17Speaker 5: trespassing on school grounds, and possession of burgery tools with
- 51:22Speaker 5: the intent to use.
- 51:23Speaker 4: Dude, I just imagine walking out of my house and
- 51:26Speaker 4: seeing a forklift down the street with an ATM. That
- 51:28Speaker 4: would be so funny.
- 51:30Speaker 5: I guess what was his plan here? I want to
- 51:32Speaker 5: know where he was taking it? How did you think
- 51:34Speaker 5: he was going to get away with that?
- 51:35Speaker 4: Let's go to North Carolina here, and this is a
- 51:38Speaker 4: Thanksgiving themed story. Actually, we have a sixty four year
- 51:42Speaker 4: old and a fifty five year old man who were
- 51:44Speaker 4: both shopping at a food Lion's store in North Carolina
- 51:48Speaker 4: on Thursday. One of them got into it with an
- 51:51Speaker 4: employee over the price of a turkey. They had a
- 51:54Speaker 4: deal apparently where you could get one for twenty nine
- 51:56Speaker 4: cents a pound, but you had to spend thirty five
- 51:58Speaker 4: dollars first. One of them didn't understand the deal and
- 52:00Speaker 4: they got malvi with a female cashier. So the other
- 52:04Speaker 4: guy stepped in and it turned into a fist fight.
- 52:08Speaker 4: There's apparently a video of them fighting somewhere. A lot
- 52:11Speaker 4: of profanity in it, though, so we will not be
- 52:13Speaker 4: listening to that. They both left the store, but it
- 52:15Speaker 4: turned out One of them also had a gun, and
- 52:17Speaker 4: they got into a shootout in the parking lot. One
- 52:20Speaker 4: of the guys was shot into the arm, shot in
- 52:22Speaker 4: the arm and taken to a nearby hospital, but thankfully
- 52:24Speaker 4: no one else was hurt. Both men are facing charges.
- 52:30Speaker 4: A lot of fun stuff going on in North Carolina
- 52:32Speaker 4: in there? What else you got?
- 52:34Speaker 5: I'm out?
- 52:35Speaker 4: No, you're not. I know. I gave you more than that.
- 52:37Speaker 4: I gave you my best story.
- 52:38Speaker 5: I went through all four of them.
- 52:39Speaker 4: Did we talk about the eggs?
- 52:41Speaker 5: You can give me the eggs? Didn't?
- 52:43Speaker 4: Did I throw it away?
- 52:45Speaker 14: No?
- 52:45Speaker 2: Hold on?
- 52:45Speaker 4: Hold on, could have sworn I gave you that story.
- 52:47Speaker 5: Maybe it's the one import out of the trash.
- 52:50Speaker 4: Well, look what you've done to me, Caleb. Now, hold on,
- 52:54Speaker 4: we're gonna pull this up.
- 52:55Speaker 5: Show.
- 52:55Speaker 4: No, no, no, we're gonna pull this up. I had one
- 52:57Speaker 4: more than I specifically gave to Caleb because I thought
- 52:59Speaker 4: it was the funniest one to let me. Let me
- 53:00Speaker 4: see that stack of papers right here.
- 53:02Speaker 5: We're gonna do four pieces of paper.
- 53:04Speaker 4: You doll them? Oh my goodness, gracious.
- 53:10Speaker 5: Coverage.
- 53:10Speaker 4: Yeah, you're listening to the live coverage of Ryan having
- 53:12Speaker 4: his meltdown of the of the story that he thought
- 53:15Speaker 4: he gave to Caleb. That's fine, I'll just go online
- 53:17Speaker 4: and I'll pull it right up off the website where
- 53:19Speaker 4: I printed it out. This one was too good not
- 53:21Speaker 4: to read. All right, here we go, Yeah, here we go.
- 53:25Speaker 4: I guess I'll I was gonna save this one for you.
- 53:27Speaker 4: I guess I missed it up. This is a Florida
- 53:29Speaker 4: man story. H Florida man tries to shoot people over
- 53:32Speaker 4: argument about how many eggs chickens lay.
- 53:34Speaker 5: What.
- 53:35Speaker 4: Yeah, this is the one I really wanted to leave.
- 53:37Speaker 4: This is the one I was saving for last.
- 53:38Speaker 2: So u.
- 53:39Speaker 4: Peter Rieira fired four rounds from a forty five caliber
- 53:42Speaker 4: glock at three people outside Harper's Pub in Florida following
- 53:47Speaker 4: a dispute about chicken egg production.
- 53:49Speaker 5: People will just argue about anything.
- 53:51Speaker 17: Now.
- 53:51Speaker 4: No one was struck by bullets, but the police sergeant
- 53:54Speaker 4: did confirm an argument between the three victims and mister
- 53:56Speaker 4: Rieira stemmed from a conversation about how many eggs a
- 53:59Speaker 4: chicken and can lay. As mister Rieira claimed to be
- 54:02Speaker 4: a farmer who raised chickens and became paranoid after the argument,
- 54:06Speaker 4: accusing the victims of quote trying to con him. What
- 54:09Speaker 4: so all parties had been drinking and were intoxicated to
- 54:12Speaker 4: varying degrees. Shocker, right, Wow. He's facing multiple charges, including
- 54:16Speaker 4: three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Two
- 54:20Speaker 4: victims also face charges for resisting officers during the investigation.
- 54:24Speaker 5: Wow.
- 54:25Speaker 4: It was stated arming yourself with a handgun when you're
- 54:27Speaker 4: under the influence is not a good idea common sense.
- 54:30Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, I agree with anyway.
- 54:32Speaker 4: That's the one I wanted to make sure we read
- 54:34Speaker 4: before the end of this. Glad we got that one
- 54:36Speaker 4: in there, all right. Yeah, always a Florida man, And
- 54:39Speaker 4: I guess that takes us to the end of the show,
- 54:41Speaker 4: doesn't It got to close this thing out here on

- 54:46Speaker 4: for Will. Absolutely we as a reminder, will not be
