InnoTrans 2026: Merak Has Thousands of Greenair R744 and R290 Railway HVAC Units in Operation
Merak, a global manufacturer of railway HVAC systems, has installed thousands of Greenair heat pumps using either CO2 (R744) or propane (R290) worldwide, according to Director of R&D and Innovation Giovanni Nurzia.
Based on client feedback, Merak developed both technologies to offer railway operators a low-GWP, future-proof solution for cabin heating and cooling that they were comfortable adopting.
