Transcript
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: Hello, welcome to the secret place with Pastor Millie, a place where we are here to just wind down and relax, take a deep breath, breathe out, and know that this is your time to relax, hear a word, and be power boost.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: And today we're gonna talk about you know, doing things sometimes there's changes we have to do in our life, and we gotta stop looking back because God is doing something new, and the word of God for today is Isaiah chapter 43, verse 18 to through 19.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: It says, forget the former things, do not dwell on the past.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: See, I am doing a new thing.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: God is telling you, do not dwell on the past, because every day is a new day that God is doing something new.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we have a tendency of living the past, thinking about the past, and we become imprisoned by the past that we can't find our way to move forward, and that's not what God wants for you.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: He wants you to know that each day that He gives you is a new day, a new day to rejoice and be glad in it.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: For this is the day that the Lord has made.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Okay, so one thing we can all say is that the past, each and every one of us have a past.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Everyone has a past.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: It can be a good past, it can be a tragic past, it can be a past that today we can speak about it, and it's no longer imprisoning us.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: We can speak about it and say it as a testimony, a test that became a testimony, like I said, a mess that became a message.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: See, the past can teach us, but it would never it was never ever meant to imprison you.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we spend so much time looking to what happened that we fail to recognize what God is doing now.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: You know, I tell my my kids, sometimes we focus on the little negative things that we fail to focus on the blessings that God has given us.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: The beautiful things that God has done in our life can overpower any negativity, any past.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: We gotta focus on the blessings that God has given us, the blessings He continues to pour down on our lives.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: You cannot move forward while constantly staring behind you.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: There are memories you can honor, lessons you can keep, and wounds that God can heal, but you still have to move forward.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: You know, a lot of people say, someone hurt me in the past, you know, and I can't move forward.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Yes, you can move forward.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: You give them to God, you pray, and you move forward.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: God is the only one that can do it.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: You know, sometimes we we say, Yeah, but you know, it it hurts me.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Yes, of course.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Look at Jesus, look at his life, everything he went through.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: One thing that I always said, we can continue to have a self-pity party, or we can continue to go forward and pray and continue to grow in the things of God.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Do not let yesterday convince you that tomorrow will look the same.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Don't do that.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: God is able to create a new path, He's ready to restore you, to give you hope, and bring great opportunities to you that you never expected.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: You have to release what is behind you, release it, give it to God, keep your eyes focused on God.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: There is more ahead of you, so much more ahead of you.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: You know, one thing I I love about the word of God is that it shows you so many stories that we can learn from.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Speaks about the prodigal son who left the father, did not want nothing to do with the father, but it never says that the father ran after him, it says that he came back humiliated, had to eat from the pigs that he had to eat from the pigs, had it had to go down, below, discouraged, because he did something he should have never done, and what happened?
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: He ended up coming back to his father.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: The same thing with the story of Joseph, everything the brothers did, but at the end of the day, where did the brothers end up?
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: It doesn't say Joseph went behind him, it says Joseph continued, he continued, and one day the brothers met up with him, not knowing that he was gonna meet up with the brother, but they met up with him when things were getting rocky, when things were not the way they expected.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: And the brother was so excited to see them.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: The same thing goes with us.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: Stop going back to the past, continue forward.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: What's meant to be will find his way.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: What's meant to be will find his way, and God will continue to work in your life as long as you keep your eyes fixed on the prize, fixed on Jesus, and you will see what God will do.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Let's say a prayer because I know there's someone here listening to this word today, and I want to empower you and let you know that your past does not imprison you.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Your past is meant for you to grow from it and continue forward.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus, Lord.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: Help us, Father God, release things from the past that keep us pulling backwards, Father God.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Father God, hear the places that still hurt in our lives, Lord.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Open our eyes for the new things that you have, Father God, and for the new things that you're doing.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Give us courage to move forward in Jesus' mighty name.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Thank you for coming to the secret place.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: I hope to know, I hope to see you again.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: Know that you're gonna come back and you're gonna be in power.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: One word that can change your life forever.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: May God bless you.
