At 90, Betty Phillips still walks into UVA Health’s plastic surgery clinic every Monday—and sometimes Friday—driven by a 70-year passion for healing. Graduating nursing school in 1956, she returned to school twice for more degrees and even took a brief break before coming back in 2000. Inspired by her grandmother and her first “patient”—a doll—Betty credits her enduring energy to daily exercise and good food.
