Speaker 3: much a mirror image of what happened last night, and
• 2:29
Speaker 3: then events is going on tomorrow, in Sunday and also

Speaker 3: week's adt me please pet of the week. Good morning,
• 3:05
Speaker 3: welcome to the show.
• 3:06
  Speaker 6: Good morning.
• 3:08
Speaker 3: You ready for this Memorial weekend?
• 3:10
  Speaker 6: I'm so ready.
• 3:12
Speaker 3: Oh I know you guys got an event going on tomorrow.
• 3:14
Speaker 3: I'm'll talk about that a little bit later on. But
• 3:16
Speaker 3: as always, we're trying to get a pet adopted. We're
• 3:19
Speaker 3: going with a cat this week. Picture posted Dave Alan
• 3:22
Speaker 3: Radio on Facebook and had Dave a seventy on X
• 3:24
Speaker 3: and I will say that immediately after your segment, Angie,
• 3:27
Speaker 3: I got Jim Strawn come in to talk live on
• 3:30
Speaker 3: the levee and we're going to put the pressure on
• 3:32
Speaker 3: mister Strawn because I think he's interested in this cat.
• 3:35
Speaker 3: Just let me just saying, just saying it.
• 3:38
  Speaker 6: That sounds good.
• 3:39
Speaker 5: You give him my number, Okay.
• 3:41
Speaker 3: I will, I will, all right. So I want to
• 3:42
Speaker 3: make sure I pronounce the cat correctly. It's Yisma, Is
• 3:46
  Speaker 3: that right?
• 3:48
  Speaker 2: Uh?
• 3:48
Speaker 6: Yizmasma. However you can get it out well.
• 3:52
Speaker 3: I looked at when you sent me the text last night.
• 3:54
Speaker 3: I actually looked it up and the pronouncer, if you will,
• 3:57
Speaker 3: that I got said Yizma. But then and checking with
• 4:00
Speaker 3: people in the office this morning and of course, Ryan
• 4:03
Speaker 3: is the my go to on this. He tells me
• 4:06
Speaker 3: it is yizma. Is that right, Ryan? It is Yezma? Yeah,
• 4:09
Speaker 3: it is zma. Yeah, it's isma ismamasma. That's that's how
• 4:14
Speaker 3: I was raised to pronounce it. And it's from a
• 4:18
Speaker 3: Disney movie? Is that right?
• 4:19
  Speaker 7: Emperor's New Groove?
• 4:20
Speaker 3: Okay? All right, see you guys, Angie, I feel like
• 4:23
Speaker 3: that you take advantage of the old guy here because
• 4:25
Speaker 3: you know you you yeah, and I know you and
• 4:27
Speaker 3: Ryan aren't cahoots in kahoots with each other, but I
• 4:29
Speaker 3: mean it's like, you guys know how to pronounce these things,
• 4:32
Speaker 3: and Ryan, you know, gives me this look like, what
• 4:33
Speaker 3: do you mean you don't know how to pronounce that?
• 4:35
Speaker 3: You know? And so but Yzma, we'll go with that.
• 4:38
Speaker 6: How's that that sounds great? Hey, however it comes out,
• 4:42
Speaker 6: we'll just roll with.
• 4:43
Speaker 3: We just want to call her adopted. That's what we
• 4:45
Speaker 3: want to call her, and you can and maybe you
• 4:47
Speaker 3: can change the name if you don't like it, but anyway,
• 4:49
Speaker 3: tell us about this wonderful, beautiful cat.
• 4:53
Speaker 6: So she is currently living at our pet co Pit Houses,
• 4:56
Speaker 6: which are just Stark Kennels at pet Coast South Ridge,
• 5:00
Speaker 6: but I like to give him a fun little name
• 5:01
Speaker 6: to kind of make it.
• 5:02
Speaker 3: I love it. I love it. I love it the
• 5:03
  Speaker 3: Pet Joe penhouse.
• 5:06
Speaker 6: But she is up there. She hides in a little
• 5:08
Speaker 6: tiny Amazon box that was placed into her kennel. She
• 5:12
Speaker 6: just hides in there all day long. She will come
• 5:14
Speaker 6: out for wet food. But I do believe she is
• 5:17
Speaker 6: really missing her roommate that was living with her. His
• 5:20
Speaker 6: name was Kronk, after the Emperor's New Groove, but he
• 5:24
Speaker 6: has since been adopted, and I think she's just a
• 5:27
Speaker 6: little sad without him. So if you have other cats
• 5:29
Speaker 6: in your home, I think she would perk right up
• 5:32
Speaker 6: if you take her into your home.
• 5:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, you told me that story last night, and it
• 5:36
Speaker 3: is kind of sad, and I understand that. People. Look,
• 5:38
Speaker 3: I got two cats, and that's all I can do
• 5:41
Speaker 3: is to just to maintain the two. You can't always
• 5:44
Speaker 3: come in you want to adopt a cat or a
• 5:46
Speaker 3: dog for that matter, but cats, especially because they tend
• 5:48
Speaker 3: to be and want to stick together a little bit,
• 5:50
Speaker 3: you can't always adopt both of them. I understand, but
• 5:52
Speaker 3: it is kind of sad when it happens that way.
• 5:55
Speaker 6: Correct, And I like you said, we understand that, you know,
• 5:58
Speaker 6: you can only give one a home at a time.
• 6:00
Speaker 6: That's perfectly understandable. We're all at capacity at the shelter ourselves.
• 6:05
Speaker 6: But you know, seeing her shut down like that, it
• 6:08
Speaker 6: does tug on your heartstrings a little bit. So the
• 6:10
Speaker 6: good news is we are very you know, we're very
• 6:13
Speaker 6: confident that somebody with cats will come along and take
• 6:16
  Speaker 6: her home.
• 6:17
Speaker 3: And you tend to think, now, and there's no way,
• 6:20
Speaker 3: there's no guarantee, Angie, but you tend to think that
• 6:22
Speaker 3: if you get yisma with another cat that she probably
• 6:27
Speaker 3: will be just fine.
• 6:29
  Speaker 6: Correct. I think so. I think she'll open up. I
• 6:31
Speaker 6: think she'll be less shy and less wanting to hide.
• 6:34
Speaker 6: But if you have cats, you know, cats are dramatic
• 6:37
Speaker 6: and day one usually doesn't go so hot with cats.
• 6:40
Speaker 6: So if you do take her home, please give her
• 6:43
Speaker 6: and your cats past day one to you know, get
• 6:46
Speaker 6: used to each other.
• 6:47
Speaker 3: Yeah, and they usually do, because you know, with with
• 6:49
Speaker 3: our two cats, we have Grady and we have Whylan.
• 6:52
Speaker 3: They both showed up on our doorsteps as strays when
• 6:56
Speaker 3: we we had two cats previously, and one of them
• 6:59
Speaker 3: we had to have put down. And Grady, you know,
• 7:01
Speaker 3: those two cats weren't close at all. I mean Grady tried,
• 7:04
Speaker 3: but you know, r Ip midnight, she wasn't having it
• 7:07
Speaker 3: and she just wanted no part of it. But with
• 7:10
Speaker 3: this one that we the other one that we brought in,
• 7:12
Speaker 3: they were a little bit you know, stand office at first.
• 7:14
Speaker 3: But now they seem to get along fine. I mean
• 7:17
Speaker 3: when I left this morning, they were in in my
• 7:19
Speaker 3: office side by side, looking out the window at the
• 7:22
Speaker 3: birds outside. So but you got to give it more.
• 7:25
Speaker 3: You can't. You can't bring them in in like two
• 7:27
Speaker 3: or three days and say, well, this is not gonna work,
• 7:29
Speaker 3: because eventually with cats, I mean, they don't have to
• 7:32
Speaker 3: be like my previous two. Like I said, they they
• 7:34
Speaker 3: never really they weren't hanging out together. They weren't going
• 7:36
Speaker 3: to them all together. Okay, uh but but but they
• 7:40
Speaker 3: co existed. So you got to give it a couple
• 7:42
Speaker 3: of days if you bring her in with another.
• 7:43
Speaker 6: Cat, right correct, and co exists? Is that was such
• 7:47
Speaker 6: a beautiful word because I have you know, five cats myself,
• 7:51
Speaker 6: and not all of them quite get along together. But
• 7:56
Speaker 6: they can co exist together. And as long as everyone's happy,
• 8:00
  Speaker 6: I'm happy. Yea.
• 8:01
Speaker 3: And she is two years old. She is spaded, everything's
• 8:04
Speaker 3: up to date or shots and everything like that. And
• 8:07
Speaker 3: she probably just needs a buddy. So if you have
• 8:10
Speaker 3: a cat and you could take on another one who
• 8:12
Speaker 3: maybe you're like Ange and you got four or five
• 8:14
Speaker 3: one more, I think she would be I think she'd
• 8:17
Speaker 3: be a great pet for you. We'll get back to
• 8:18
Speaker 3: her momentily and as always again our pet of the
• 8:21
Speaker 3: week's pictures posted on my social media. It's at Dave
• 8:24
Speaker 3: A seventy on x and also on a Dave Allen
• 8:27
Speaker 3: radio on Facebook. All right, so you got an adoption
• 8:29
Speaker 3: event going on tomorrow over at Green Infusion. I did
• 8:33
Speaker 3: a live broadcast on her sister stationed the Mountain from
• 8:35
Speaker 3: there about a month or so ago. They're wonderful people
• 8:37
Speaker 3: over there. It's located over on the west side, four
• 8:39
Speaker 3: twenty five West Washington Street. So you'll be out there
• 8:42
  Speaker 3: tomorrow right.
• 8:44
Speaker 6: Yes, tomorrow, from a noon to about three pm four pm,
• 8:48
Speaker 6: just depending on the weather and how long the animals
• 8:50
Speaker 6: can tolerate then olt time.
• 8:52
Speaker 3: Now, when you go out for an event like that,
• 8:54
Speaker 3: what do you I mean, how many do you normally take?
• 8:58
Speaker 3: What's the optimal number that you like to take out?
• 9:02
Speaker 6: Usually as many as we can fit into our vehicles.
• 9:05
Speaker 6: Me and whoever see employee or volunteer that's going with me.
• 9:09
Speaker 6: We like to load down our cars and take as
• 9:11
Speaker 6: many as we can. It usually rounds out to probably
• 9:14
Speaker 6: anywhere from ten to fifteen an So.
• 9:16
Speaker 3: You're going to start about noon tomorrow, right what you said?
• 9:18
  Speaker 5: Yes?
• 9:19
  Speaker 6: Correct?
• 9:19
Speaker 3: All right? But Dave Allen showing five eighty Live is
• 9:21
Speaker 3: brought to you apart by Husband's Pizza this month. Get
• 9:23
Speaker 3: a large eighteen inch Pepperoni pizza and an order of
• 9:26
Speaker 3: cinnamon Bytes twenty ninety nine. He didn't pick up or
• 9:28
Speaker 3: get delivery big going to Husband's Pizza dot com. How
• 9:31
Speaker 3: are we looking numbers wise, Angie.
• 9:34
Speaker 6: Busting at the seams?
• 9:36
Speaker 8: We are We were over five hundred, We got back
• 9:40
Speaker 8: under five hundred, and people you know, keep leaving us
• 9:44
Speaker 8: gifts at our gate overnight, which has put us back
• 9:47
Speaker 8: up to five hundred.
• 9:48
Speaker 3: So, and I actually had you on our midday show
• 9:52
Speaker 3: talking about this situation from earlier in the week. The
• 9:54
Speaker 3: Tote story tell us The Tote story.
• 9:58
Speaker 6: So, one of our employees actually taking her husband to work,
• 10:02
Speaker 6: and as she's driving by the shelter, she sees a
• 10:06
Speaker 6: dog that runs out and hits their car, and she
• 10:10
Speaker 6: did end up hitting the dog. Good news is the
• 10:12
Speaker 6: dog is doing fine. She has nothing broken, nothing internal
• 10:16
Speaker 6: going on. But so she it notices that there are
• 10:20
Speaker 6: dogs and puppies just running everywhere. So she communicates with
• 10:24
Speaker 6: our staff. Everybody starts rushing in and we just find
• 10:30
Speaker 6: puppies all over the place at the shelter that have
• 10:32
Speaker 6: escaped from a storage toad and are just running everywhere
• 10:37
Speaker 6: on the shelter's parking lot.
• 10:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, and so how many were there total?
• 10:42
Speaker 8: Again, so there are eight total.
• 10:45
Speaker 6: We have captured seven. There's still one on the loose
• 10:48
Speaker 6: that is smarter than I guess any of us that
• 10:50
Speaker 6: work at the shelters.
• 10:52
Speaker 3: Well, well, the good news is, as you said about
• 10:55
Speaker 3: the one dog that was hit, that that dog seems
• 10:57
Speaker 3: to be doing okay. Now, we just got to try
• 10:59
Speaker 3: to get some homes. You we had a lot of
• 11:00
Speaker 3: wonderful pets out there, and you know, there's never a
• 11:04
Speaker 3: bad time of year to adopt. But now that we're
• 11:06
Speaker 3: getting into summertime and you know you're going to be
• 11:09
Speaker 3: taking vacations and things of that nature, and you're going
• 11:12
Speaker 3: to be spending more time outdoors, be a great time
• 11:14
Speaker 3: to go get to get yourself, get your family a
• 11:16
Speaker 3: dog that you can take to the picnic, take to
• 11:18
Speaker 3: the park or whatever wherever you may be going.
• 11:23
Speaker 6: Correct. And also now is a great time to foster,
• 11:26
Speaker 6: because not only are you getting the dog out of
• 11:28
Speaker 6: the shelter, you get a temporary dog and when you
• 11:30
Speaker 6: go on that vacation or you know what have you,
• 11:33
Speaker 6: you can bring them back to us people gladly take
• 11:36
Speaker 6: them back. All right.
• 11:36
Speaker 3: One other thing before we let you go on your
• 11:39
Speaker 3: social media. I see that, and we want to give
• 11:41
Speaker 3: a big shout out to the folks at Burke and
• 11:43
Speaker 3: Herbert Bank and their foundation because you guys got a
• 11:46
Speaker 3: ten thousand dollars grant.
• 11:49
Speaker 6: Yes we did, and we are super excited about that.
• 11:52
Speaker 6: As our executive director put it best, this is going
• 11:55
Speaker 6: to help us help even more animals in our area
• 11:58
Speaker 6: with life saving care, feeding them in Richmond.
• 12:03
Speaker 3: Just all the things, all right, all right, Angie, And
• 12:07
Speaker 3: again I want to one Ryan folks that you're going
• 12:09
Speaker 3: to be over on the West Side tomorrow started at
• 12:11
Speaker 3: noon over with green infusion over the west Side started
• 12:15
Speaker 3: at noon four twenty five West Washington's Tree with all
• 12:18
Speaker 3: kinds of critters to be adopted, over there to go
• 12:19
Speaker 3: over there and get yourself an animal, and Angie, thank
• 12:23
Speaker 3: you for all that you do and we'll talk again
• 12:25
  Speaker 3: next week.
• 12:26
Speaker 6: Alrighty have a good one, all.
• 12:28
Speaker 3: Right, Angie and Gilla wanted from mcnaw Charleston New Main
• 12:30
Speaker 3: Association with this week's Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week. Yizma,
• 12:35
Speaker 3: two year old cat spade up to date on all shots,
• 12:38
Speaker 3: everything else, We're ready to go. She's been very shy
• 12:41
Speaker 3: since her roommate was adopted from the Petco Penhouses, so
• 12:46
Speaker 3: she's kind of kind of gone into her shell a
• 12:48
Speaker 3: little bit here, so I think, and what Angie was saying,
• 12:50
Speaker 3: and you know, with animals, they kind of do what
• 12:52
Speaker 3: they want to do. But with animals, she seems to
• 12:55
Speaker 3: think that if maybe you get her with another cat,
• 12:57
Speaker 3: that she should be just fine because she kind of
• 13:00
Speaker 3: missing her roommate. By the way, I do love that
• 13:01
Speaker 3: named the pet Goo Penhouses. So I've got Yusma's picture
• 13:05
Speaker 3: posted over on my social media so you can check
• 13:08
Speaker 3: it out on Dave Island Radio and also at Dave
• 13:10
  Speaker 3: A seventy on x Okay, I got a text here.
• 13:16
Speaker 3: I'll try to get an answer to that because it
• 13:18
Speaker 3: was actually a question for Angie. So I'll try to
• 13:20
Speaker 3: we'll try to do you any break. We'll try to
• 13:21
Speaker 3: get up with Angie get an answer to that particular
• 13:24
Speaker 3: text question. But Dave Allen showing five any Live is

• 15:54
Speaker 10: I've checked out the studio. I've watched it being constructed.
• 15:57
Speaker 10: The renovation took a little time, but boy, you know what,
• 16:00
Speaker 10: this is literally my first official time in the new studio,
• 16:04
Speaker 10: on official on I'm on' you yeah, and people can
• 16:08
Speaker 10: hear me, I hope.
• 16:09
Speaker 3: And uh well yeah, talk a little louder, all right.
• 16:11
Speaker 3: So here's the thing. Here's the thing that when because
• 16:14
Speaker 3: from time to time when we do live on the levee,
• 16:16
Speaker 3: you'll bring the guests in when that's when it works out.
• 16:18
Speaker 3: We got plenty of room. This room goes. We got
• 16:21
Speaker 3: we got spots in here. Plus where Ryan is on
• 16:23
Speaker 3: the other side of the glass, we can throw three
• 16:25
Speaker 3: or four more in there.
• 16:26
Speaker 10: Because the band members. If there's three or four band
• 16:27
Speaker 10: members that they all have their own mic. We're just
• 16:29
Speaker 10: going to put on a big old concert here. We
• 16:31
Speaker 10: made it work in the past. It wasn't always easy.
• 16:34
Speaker 10: Ryan and Coop and Matt Murray, They've always made my
• 16:37
Speaker 10: ear or if you kind of hinting around. But I'm
• 16:40
Speaker 10: going to go to work on that.
• 16:41
Speaker 3: Yeah. Absolutely, we got Chicago Rewired coming in this show.
• 16:45
Speaker 3: I don't know if we can bring the entire Chicago
• 16:46
Speaker 3: horn sell that might ask.
• 16:48
Speaker 10: I don't know how many band members they have. It's
• 16:49
Speaker 10: a Chicago Rewired coming later on to head out of
• 16:52
  Speaker 10: the front park.
• 16:53
Speaker 3: But yeah, they're going to do it right. They got
• 16:54
Speaker 3: to have some horns.
• 16:55
Speaker 10: So tonight we're launching our twenty first Moses Auto Group
• 16:59
Speaker 10: Live on the Levee. Season twenty twenty five is upon us.
• 17:04
Speaker 10: This is my twentieth season to host a Dave. What
• 17:06
Speaker 10: do you think of that twentieth season? But it's going
• 17:08
Speaker 10: to be a uniquely different night. It's going to be
• 17:11
Speaker 10: an epic night. It has the makings of an epic
• 17:15
Speaker 10: night in Chuckytown, West Virginia. With this cycling that we've
• 17:17
Speaker 10: been talking about so much, but we're gonna weave in
• 17:20
Speaker 10: the launch of the Moses Uarto Group Live Levey, and
• 17:23
Speaker 10: I want folks to hear me loud and clear, and
• 17:24
Speaker 10: I want you to continue to say it, and I
• 17:26
Speaker 10: want Matt and the Mayor to continue to say it.
• 17:28
Speaker 10: We have been saying it a lot. But if you're
• 17:30
Speaker 10: not used to the music at Live and Levee starting
• 17:32
Speaker 10: at five o'clock, it's only going to be for tonight.
• 17:36
Speaker 10: So if you come down at six or six thirty
• 17:38
Speaker 10: expecting to hear music and get like, what the heck,
• 17:42
Speaker 10: I'm sorry, the music could be over by six.
• 17:44
Speaker 3: So at five o'clock, well, actually at.
• 17:47
Speaker 10: Four forty five, the mayor is going to do a proclamation,
• 17:49
Speaker 10: little ceremony for the cycling folks, and then she'll give
• 17:52
Speaker 10: it the mic back over to me and I'll make
• 17:54
Speaker 10: a few announcements, thanks some folks, and then I will
• 17:57
Speaker 10: bring on at five o'clock the Reverend Horton Heat. The
• 18:00
Speaker 10: Reverend Horton Heat will take center stage down at had
• 18:03
Speaker 10: that river Front Park on the Showenbomb Stage five o'clock sharp.
• 18:07
Speaker 10: They'll play a set for about sixty minutes. And if
• 18:10
Speaker 10: you don't know them, they are a national act. Their
• 18:13
Speaker 10: country and bluesy and rock eash and it kind of
• 18:16
Speaker 10: meets with the high octane energy and they call it
• 18:19
Speaker 10: spaghetti western sound, like an old sixties, fifties seventies Western
• 18:24
Speaker 10: movie sound, you know, with the cowboy lone cowboy riding
• 18:28
Speaker 10: high in these horse, a little Clint Eastwood, a little good,
• 18:31
Speaker 10: bad and ugly, and some of those other you know,
• 18:33
Speaker 10: Dan Martin western sort of thing. It's very very entertaining.
• 18:37
Speaker 10: I've listened to a couple of their songs, so they'll
• 18:40
Speaker 10: play for an hour live and Levy is still great
• 18:45
Speaker 10: fun for that great cause. We're still helping those five
• 18:47
Speaker 10: Inner City Charity's Day. They haven't changed that in years.
• 18:51
Speaker 10: Tonight will be RCCR night, but we also help the
• 18:54
Speaker 10: Sojourner Shelter in the Covenant House and Man and Meal
• 18:57
Speaker 10: and the old work Solo which is now called Peak Living.
• 19:00
Speaker 10: But we're gonna sell fifty to fifty tickets during the concert,
• 19:03
Speaker 10: during the show from five to six, and then again
• 19:06
Speaker 10: a little different night. We're gonna do the fifty to
• 19:08
Speaker 10: fifty drawing about six o'clock or six oh five after
• 19:12
  Speaker 10: the concert.
• 19:13
Speaker 3: Is over, and then we're gonna throw it over.
• 19:15
Speaker 10: To the bicycling folks and they'll take over the MC duties,
• 19:18
Speaker 10: the USA Cycling, the Pro Road and the national championships.
• 19:22
Speaker 10: They have the ultimate racing tonight that'll start at six thirty,
• 19:25
Speaker 10: So if you're down for the concert on the hat
• 19:28
Speaker 10: Ed Riverfront Park side, you can just stick around and
• 19:31
Speaker 10: watch the racing from that side. And then in between
• 19:34
Speaker 10: some racing breaks, there's gonna be crosswalks. I kind of
• 19:37
Speaker 10: compare it to like a golf tournament. After the last
• 19:40
Speaker 10: golfer goes by, they open up the ropes and you're
• 19:42
Speaker 10: can walk across the fairway. That's what the crosswalks will have.
• 19:45
Speaker 10: So it's gonna be a little different. Be patient parking.
• 19:49
Speaker 10: There's parking downtown, but you might have to walk a
• 19:51
Speaker 10: little bit over to hat Ed Riverfront Park. But this
• 19:54
Speaker 10: has the makings of a really epic night, a really
• 19:56
Speaker 10: fun night. The music is gonna be awesome. But it
• 19:59
Speaker 10: starts to five o'clock. Folks, get down there, Get down there,
• 20:03
Speaker 10: come into town a little bit early and get parked.
• 20:05
Speaker 10: Get over there, you know, bring your chairs, plenty of
• 20:08
Speaker 10: places to sit. It had to enter the front park
• 20:10
Speaker 10: and then stick around for some really amazing athletes.
• 20:13
Speaker 3: Have you seen some of these dicycling.
• 20:17
Speaker 10: And tonight is the upper tier level, the ultimate whether
• 20:19
Speaker 10: they call it the Ultimate or the Elite, the elite division,
• 20:22
  Speaker 10: So these.
• 20:23
Speaker 3: Guys will be be fun. What amazes me, and I've
• 20:25
Speaker 3: said this a couple of times on both shows, Jim,
• 20:27
Speaker 3: what amazes me is the incredible speed. I mean, you
• 20:31
Speaker 3: just you know that was the last year when I
• 20:33
Speaker 3: was downtown for the first time and I'd seen it
• 20:35
Speaker 3: on TV and that, but I've never been prepared a
• 20:37
Speaker 3: person I just right in front of you could not believe.
• 20:41
  Speaker 5: What is it?
• 20:42
Speaker 3: What is it that? I don't know who coined this,
• 20:44
Speaker 3: whether Brian Hughes or whomever, but somebody that the corner
• 20:47
Speaker 3: there in front of Art Emporium, They've got a name
• 20:49
  Speaker 3: for Tracy's Place. It's like a corner Hell's Corner, I
• 20:54
Speaker 3: think is what they call it. That could be that's
• 20:58
  Speaker 3: a good one.
• 20:59
Speaker 10: But yeah, they got they got the straw there now,
• 21:01
Speaker 10: so I know there's some possibilities.
• 21:03
Speaker 3: We don't want to see that, but no, no, it
• 21:05
Speaker 3: can happen. You don't want to see that, and obviously
• 21:08
Speaker 3: don't want to see anybody hurt. But I mean, let's
• 21:09
Speaker 3: face it. A lot of people go to NASCAR for
• 21:12
Speaker 3: the reps, and if you don't want to see that,
• 21:14
Speaker 3: I'm not trying nobody here. But it is highly competitive.
• 21:19
Speaker 10: There are a bush of bicyclists, you know, neck and neck,
• 21:21
Speaker 10: foot and foot, paddle to pedal, so it can happen.
• 21:25
Speaker 3: But come down and.
• 21:26
Speaker 10: Listen to some great music. There's still some food vendors
• 21:28
Speaker 10: down there, still some spirited beverages. They'll be flowing right
• 21:31
Speaker 10: there at four points by Sheridan. We've had another really
• 21:35
Speaker 10: sell year with getting folks to support this. Of course,
• 21:38
Speaker 10: this is Moses Auto Group's eighteenth season to be the
• 21:42
Speaker 10: presenting sponsor. But we have the health plan back Brewer
• 21:45
Speaker 10: and Company been with us all twenty one years. Loundol
• 21:48
Speaker 10: Marine and a new big one this year, PoCA Valley,
• 21:51
Speaker 10: and there's there's many other ones. They'll be down there tonight.
• 21:54
Speaker 10: Lots of food vendors, I don't know. There'll be lots
• 21:57
Speaker 10: of boasts tonight. You know last year we heard some
• 22:00
Speaker 10: about day got it, Jimmy, it's hotter than eighties down.
• 22:02
  Speaker 3: Yeah, not tonight.
• 22:03
  Speaker 2: Now.
• 22:05
Speaker 10: If you're worried about being hot, then this is your
• 22:07
Speaker 10: night the opposite. But I'll be in shorts, maybe a
• 22:09
Speaker 10: little maybe a little jacket, but bring a jacket or
• 22:12
Speaker 10: a sweatshirt for later on when it gets cool. But
• 22:15
Speaker 10: it has the makings of a big night. I think
• 22:17
Speaker 10: the season is going to be a lot of fun.
• 22:19
Speaker 10: I don't have the season schedule right in front of me,
• 22:21
Speaker 10: but it's going to be fun. It'll go to August
• 22:23
Speaker 10: the first. Lots of things happening in and around Charleston
• 22:27
Speaker 10: this summer starting tonight, but the festival is going to
• 22:31
Speaker 10: be great. Slack Plaus is almost always something going on.
• 22:34
  Speaker 10: I think there's going to be I think DJ e
• 22:36
Speaker 10: J s at Slack Pauses tonight from seven thirty that
• 22:38
Speaker 10: I'm thirty playing music while the races are going on
• 22:40
Speaker 10: five five Street breweries, all the.
• 22:42
Speaker 3: Brutes will be happening.
• 22:43
Speaker 10: Yeah, your sister Station B one hundred Steve will be
• 22:46
Speaker 10: down on Hell Street tonight.
• 22:48
Speaker 3: I mean there's just a love of animal animals from
• 22:51
Speaker 3: the mountain town there.
• 22:52
Speaker 10: W w K will be a big presence down there tonight.
• 22:55
Speaker 10: Just the town is. The town is buzzing. You know,
• 22:59
Speaker 10: if you have friends in family in come downtown, get
• 23:02
Speaker 10: your bite, get your beverage, and enjoy some music and
• 23:05
Speaker 10: then just turn around, literally, just turn around. I'm watch
• 23:07
Speaker 10: some amazing athletes. These are world class athletes. I mean,
• 23:11
Speaker 10: of course we had the Olympian last year, right, she's
• 23:14
  Speaker 10: back again.
• 23:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, So it's and then some of these people could
• 23:16
Speaker 3: also qualify, absolutely will qualify for that.
• 23:19
Speaker 10: So it has the makings of a big evening. And
• 23:22
Speaker 10: I appreciate the opportunity to be on here with you guys.
• 23:25
Speaker 10: And this station has always been so good to help
• 23:28
Speaker 10: us promote all the good stuff that's going on in town.
• 23:30
Speaker 10: And you've been a good friend to me and the
• 23:32
Speaker 10: city and to the Levy and I know you enjoy
• 23:35
Speaker 10: coming down when you can. But folks, tonight, I can't
• 23:37
Speaker 10: stress it enough. Try to get there between four thirty
• 23:39
Speaker 10: and five. Had ed river Front Park on the show
• 23:42
Speaker 10: and Bomb Stage Reverend Horton Heat. They'll start at five o'clock.
• 23:47
Speaker 3: Got to be there. If you're there at six, you
• 23:48
Speaker 3: missed a concert. Yeah, you got to get there early.

Speaker 3: And I do want to talk about there are less
• 24:07
Speaker 3: Live on the Levees this year.
• 24:09
Speaker 10: There's so much to do a tribute to the mayor
• 24:12
Speaker 10: in the City Hall and her administration. They have given
• 24:16
Speaker 10: us a plethora of stuff to engage in, from Slack
• 24:21
Speaker 10: Plaza and the Regatta return and now this cycling and
• 24:26
Speaker 10: fest of all and and and all these fairs that
• 24:29
Speaker 10: we have, and all the music. There's just there's there's
• 24:33
Speaker 10: there's always gonna be something happening in town on the weekends.
• 24:37
Speaker 10: We just don't have room for all the fifteen Live
• 24:39
Speaker 10: on the Levees like we used to have. But we're
• 24:42
Speaker 10: still gonna go all summer. We're still gonna go all year.
• 24:45
Speaker 10: We're gonna go all the way to August. The first
• 24:47
Speaker 10: Back to School night will be awesome as always on August,
• 24:50
Speaker 10: the first for the Live on Levee even I'll talk
• 24:52
Speaker 10: about it when it gets a little bit closer. We're
• 24:54
Speaker 10: gonna have a very special Thursday evening. Never had a
• 24:57
Speaker 10: Thursday evening Moses Auto Group Live on Levee. We are
• 25:00
Speaker 10: this year on June the twenty sixth.
• 25:01
Speaker 3: I can't wait. Get that weekend started a day earlier.
• 25:03
  Speaker 3: I'm all in.
• 25:04
Speaker 10: I got all my chips in on Thursday night for
• 25:06
Speaker 10: the levee, So it is gonna be a little different,
• 25:08
Speaker 10: but nothing wrong with change, and I think it's changed
• 25:11
Speaker 10: is gonna be good. It's a very exciting time for
• 25:13
Speaker 10: the city and there's so much to do. We just
• 25:16
Speaker 10: couldn't weave in live and levee every Friday night. So
• 25:19
Speaker 10: it's gonna be fun summer. I'm jack for the summer.
• 25:22
  Speaker 5: I'm read.
• 25:23
Speaker 3: It's a great problem text here for you, gymiss WVU
• 25:26
Speaker 3: baseball take it on Arizona at five o'clock. Also make
• 25:28
Speaker 3: sure give updates during it to the concert goers. Done
• 25:31
Speaker 3: and you got that well? They won the last night, yeah,
• 25:37
Speaker 3: and then Marshall's baseball team Sunday. Yeah they got beat
• 25:40
Speaker 3: but they're still so they got to play Louisiana tonight,
• 25:44
Speaker 3: which is who they beat on Wednesday, and if they
• 25:46
Speaker 3: win that, they'll play the top day. But I want
• 25:48
Speaker 3: to do on public record right now, this is public record, right?
• 25:50
Speaker 5: Are we on? Live?
• 25:50
  Speaker 3: Are we on?
• 25:51
  Speaker 5: Are we good?
• 25:51
Speaker 3: There's three people listening? Yeah?
• 25:54
Speaker 10: If when WWU goes to Omaha. We've never been, mark
• 25:58
  Speaker 10: my word, I will be there. I'm going it's it's
• 26:00
Speaker 10: a bucket list thing, the College World Series. But if
• 26:03
Speaker 10: we're in it, I'm going. If I have to miss
• 26:05
Speaker 10: a Live and Levy, I'm going to oball. Maybe I'll
• 26:09
Speaker 10: fly back like Ryan Seacrestwood the host Live and Levey
• 26:11
Speaker 10: and then back out for the championship game of college baseball.
• 26:14
Speaker 3: We have a good team. Oh yeah, absolutely. Before we
• 26:16
Speaker 3: let you go, I want to talk a little bit
• 26:17
Speaker 3: about the Reverend Horton Heat.
• 26:18
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 26:19
Speaker 3: Well so you listened to do you know him?
• 26:21
  Speaker 9: Yeah?
• 26:21
Speaker 10: Okay, you're more of a music guy than I am.
• 26:23
Speaker 10: I just introduced the bands. By the way I am.
• 26:26
Speaker 3: It's somebody. So the text about Reverend Horton Heat and said, rockabelly,
• 26:30
Speaker 3: rockabilly storytelling because it's a way that you start. It's different,
• 26:33
Speaker 3: and I will say it's it's a very eclectic musical act.
• 26:38
Speaker 3: And uh, I listen to us radio guys. We like
• 26:41

• 27:58

• 27:59

• 28:01
Speaker 3: can't get him out three times in a year. He
• 28:03
Speaker 3: got him about three times this week. I love it, Matt.

• 31:28
Speaker 3: Textra wanted to know because we were telling you the
• 31:29
Speaker 3: story about the Tote puppies. If you will where these
• 31:33
Speaker 3: totes somebody dropped off some puppies in totes. As I said,
• 31:38
Speaker 3: you know, we we give the person props for at
• 31:41
Speaker 3: least trying to get them to the animal shelter, and
• 31:43
Speaker 3: also for not sealing the toats, because that would have
• 31:45
Speaker 3: been an entirely different story, but probably a better way
• 31:48
Speaker 3: to do that. But we'll leave that alone. But somebody
• 31:51
Speaker 3: wanted to know about the Texas said, has the other
• 31:56
Speaker 3: puppy been spotted because one of the dogs was hit
• 31:58
Speaker 3: by car and it's doing okay now and is it
• 32:00
Speaker 3: old enough to be without his mama? Well, I sent
• 32:03
Speaker 3: a text to Angie during the break and Angie said, yes,
• 32:06
Speaker 3: it's been spotted, just not captured yet and definitely old enough.
• 32:09
Speaker 3: The youngest ones from this this litter were about two
• 32:13
Speaker 3: months old, so the puppy has been spotted but has
• 32:16
Speaker 3: not been captured as of Yes, Matt Sutton, who does
• 32:21
Speaker 3: a little bit of everything for the City of Charleston,
• 32:23
Speaker 3: dog capture not one of those times? Or is it?
• 32:25
Speaker 3: Is it one of those?
• 32:26
  Speaker 5: Actually?
• 32:27
Speaker 12: Well, I leave that to my wife because we actually
• 32:29
Speaker 12: she found dog a few months ago and brought it
• 32:31
Speaker 12: into our house. And I walked into my house and
• 32:33
Speaker 12: I said, oh, we have a third dog now and
• 32:36
Speaker 12: Sergeant Bells with the Charleston Police Department was nice enough
• 32:38
Speaker 12: to work with us in the Humane Association to make
• 32:43
Speaker 12: sure the dog got back to its home. It wasn't
• 32:44
Speaker 12: too far from its home, but just got out of
• 32:46
Speaker 12: the fence and there so ish. But no, they were,
• 32:50
Speaker 12: I mean, the Human Association and everyone involved that they
• 32:53
Speaker 12: can help, they will and I know those are great folks.
• 32:55
Speaker 5: That's good. That's good to hear. Well.
• 32:57
Speaker 3: Tonight is the second night of the Criteria Downtown as
• 32:59
Speaker 3: part of the US say Cycling Pro Road Nationals. Just
• 33:01
Speaker 3: like last night, streets are going to shut down at
• 33:04
Speaker 3: about five o'clock. And of course Ms Stewan was just
• 33:06
Speaker 3: in here talking about Live on the Levee and there's
• 33:09
Speaker 3: a lot of stuff going on in Charleston.
• 33:10
Speaker 12: Yeah, I think this is the night we've been waiting for.
• 33:12
Speaker 12: I mean, I think all the nights have been have
• 33:14
Speaker 12: been great all the days and then and then last
• 33:16
  Speaker 12: night was phenomenal.
• 33:17
Speaker 5: We had some rain, but you know, there's.
• 33:18
Speaker 12: A little bit something about those races that the rain
• 33:20
Speaker 12: kind of adds to it, and it was just a nice,
• 33:23
Speaker 12: a nice uh environment. But tonight will be the night
• 33:25
Speaker 12: I mean started at five with Live on the Levee,
• 33:28
  Speaker 12: Reverend Horton Heat.
• 33:29
Speaker 5: You know, it's interesting.
• 33:30
Speaker 12: I've been Miche our city manager is a big fan,
• 33:33
Speaker 12: and he was one that kind of brought brought.
• 33:36
Speaker 5: The idea to the table.
• 33:37
Speaker 12: And I had heard them and I listened to them,
• 33:39
  Speaker 12: and I'm a I'm a little bit younger than you,
• 33:41
Speaker 12: and I was interested in how you described them. I
• 33:43
Speaker 12: described them for my my group of people of like
• 33:45
Speaker 12: the movie Can't Hardly Wait meets bluegrass country, like it
• 33:48
Speaker 12: was one of those things.
• 33:49
Speaker 3: And I said, the Reverend Horton Heed is a guy,
• 33:51
Speaker 3: but it's actually a group. Yeah, you got of like
• 33:53
Speaker 3: Molly Hatchett. For my generation. You know, it's it's not
• 33:55
  Speaker 3: a guy, it's it's a it's a group, but.
• 33:57
  Speaker 12: It's gonna be exciting. I mean, I think you're right.
• 33:58
Speaker 12: It is kind of colectic, but it is. It's an
• 34:00
Speaker 12: awesome sound. And I've I've probably talked to thirty people
• 34:03
Speaker 12: who've seen them live who say it's just awesome. So
• 34:05
Speaker 12: excited with that, and then the race is kickoff. It's
• 34:07
Speaker 12: going to I mean, listen, if I know, I know
• 34:11
Speaker 12: I got it from the hockey folks, yesterday about the
• 34:14
Speaker 12: describing the world class athletes for the for the cyclist.
• 34:17
Speaker 12: But and if you want to see competition and its best,
• 34:20
Speaker 12: if there's any part of you, whether you know cycling
• 34:22
Speaker 12: or not, if there's any part of you that is
• 34:23
Speaker 12: a competitive person that likes watching competition, maybe you just
• 34:26
Speaker 12: turn on sports, you know, just to put it in
• 34:28
Speaker 12: the background. If you like competition, Man, tonight's Downtown's place
• 34:33
Speaker 12: to be, because it is just it is all the
• 34:35
Speaker 12: way to the wall, complete competition. These are the world
• 34:37
Speaker 12: class athletes, and they go at it and they and
• 34:40
Speaker 12: they go at it for an hour and a half
• 34:41
  Speaker 12: a race. So it's exciting.
• 34:43
Speaker 3: And again just so many different, you know, parts to this.
• 34:46
Speaker 3: But we want to make sure people realize it's kind
• 34:48
Speaker 3: of as I said earlier, Matt, it's kind of like
• 34:50
Speaker 3: a mirror image of yesterday. As far as the timing goes.
• 34:53
Speaker 3: The only difference is you're going to throw in live
• 34:55
Speaker 3: on the levee, yeah tonight. But so if you're somebody
• 34:59
Speaker 3: that I am convinced that a lot of people that
• 35:02
Speaker 3: work Memorial Days or work Labor days going into those
• 35:07
Speaker 3: long weekends, a lot of people take off early anyway
• 35:09
Speaker 3: if they go in at all. There was a very little.
• 35:11
Speaker 3: It was a whole lot of traffic this morning on
• 35:13
Speaker 3: I sixty four, I can tell you between Tays Valley
• 35:15
Speaker 3: and and Virginia Street here in Charleston. But if you
• 35:18
Speaker 3: are one of those that does have to work the
• 35:19
Speaker 3: whole time, just like with yesterday, we want to advise
• 35:21
Speaker 3: you you either need to get out of town early
• 35:23
Speaker 3: or plan on sticking around. And again you thought Thursday
• 35:27
Speaker 3: night was lit, wait till tonight because you've got live
• 35:30
Speaker 3: on the levee and you got all these bars. I
• 35:34
Speaker 3: got to give a big shout out to the folks
• 35:35
Speaker 3: at Recovery because I'm driving down Virginia Street, which, by
• 35:38
Speaker 3: the way, you can do. I did it this morning,
• 35:40
Speaker 3: just like I normally do. I drove down Virginia Street
• 35:42
Speaker 3: this morning. And I love some of the signs that
• 35:44
Speaker 3: they've got out front, and it's a big shout out
• 35:46
Speaker 3: to the folks at Recovery. One of them I think
• 35:48
Speaker 3: it was bike now, Beer later, you know, trying to
• 35:52
Speaker 3: get some of the riders and some of the staffs
• 35:53
Speaker 3: to come in. But the downtown places, I mean love this,
• 35:57
Speaker 3: they love this event.
• 35:58
  Speaker 12: Yeah, I mean, I think it's been great. And I
• 36:00
Speaker 12: think they've all joined in. The recovery signs are funny.
• 36:02
Speaker 12: There's one about wings, but I can't remember what it is,
• 36:03
Speaker 12: but it makes me laugh every time I walk or
• 36:05
Speaker 12: drive by. Yeah, but yeah, same as tomorrow, right or
• 36:07
Speaker 12: same as yesterday. So if that that Court Street to
• 36:10
Speaker 12: Hall Street, from the Boulevard to Lee Street, that block
• 36:12
Speaker 12: that square there, you just at five pm, by five pm,
• 36:18
Speaker 12: just get your car out of there.
• 36:19
Speaker 5: Don't leave downtown. Just get your car out of.
• 36:21
Speaker 12: There and you'll be able to easily exit the city
• 36:24
Speaker 12: after after that, you just it's a block away.
• 36:26
Speaker 5: You come in, watch the races, you can, you can
• 36:27
  Speaker 5: go out.
• 36:28
Speaker 12: All the interstates are open, the outskirts of the downtown
• 36:32
Speaker 12: are available. But you know, I think last I think
• 36:34
Speaker 12: last night, the hard hard closure ended up being somewhere
• 36:37
Speaker 12: around five fifteen, five to twenty, and that's when the
• 36:40
Speaker 12: cyclists started to warm up. But yeah, out before out
• 36:43
Speaker 12: before five, if you're inside that that footprint, you know,
• 36:46
Speaker 12: Court to hell Canal to Lee, you're not going to.
• 36:49
Speaker 5: Be able to get out. Now.
• 36:50
Speaker 12: The races tonight will probably end about nine thirty or ten,
• 36:53
Speaker 12: and then then you'll be able to get out.
• 36:54
  Speaker 5: So it won't.
• 36:55
Speaker 12: It won't take as long as last night, but that's
• 36:58
Speaker 12: that square. But until then, still just the you know,
• 37:01
Speaker 12: that front part of the had Ad far part of
• 37:03
Speaker 12: the boulevard has blocked. Everything else downtown is good to go.
• 37:06
Speaker 12: There is plenty of parking. But you've got the the
• 37:09
Speaker 12: cinema garage the city owns, you've got the mall garages,
• 37:12
Speaker 12: you've got the if you need to the convention Center garage,
• 37:15
Speaker 12: you can still uh park, you know, sort of over
• 37:18
Speaker 12: on McFarland Street into that area. There's plenty of places
• 37:21
Speaker 12: to park downtown. But actually for this one, I suggest
• 37:24
Speaker 12: that people get out early. But I'm also going to
• 37:27
Speaker 12: suggest that people get their parking space early because I
• 37:29
Speaker 12: think it's gonna be a really crowded night downtown. So
• 37:31
Speaker 12: if you want to get if you want to get
• 37:33
Speaker 12: in to see the concert, and I really think you do,
• 37:35
Speaker 12: it's gonna be really fun. The the just the energy
• 37:38
Speaker 12: in the vibe is going to be great because and
• 37:41
Speaker 12: I think Jim said it too, like we're gonna they're
• 37:43
Speaker 12: gonna Reverend Hord and he's gonna stop playing. We're gonna
• 37:46
Speaker 12: start cycling, and they're gonna start playing live music in
• 37:48
Speaker 12: the park as well, and so and it was really
• 37:50
Speaker 12: fun walking the walking around the course all last night.
• 37:55
Speaker 12: There were great different pockets of where people were watching.
• 37:58
Speaker 12: It wasn't all in city center, but there was a
• 37:59
Speaker 12: lot over on the Hail Street area, there was a
• 38:01
Speaker 12: lot down the boulevard. They've done a great job down
• 38:04
Speaker 12: to start finish line, and it was just as a
• 38:07
Speaker 12: really fun environment even with the rain.
• 38:08
Speaker 5: So tonight, tonight's gonna be even better. So I would
• 38:12
  Speaker 5: plan on.
• 38:12
Speaker 12: As I was talking to my wife before I came
• 38:14
Speaker 12: over here, because she's gonna come down, I was like,
• 38:16
Speaker 12: you know, probably four thirty before forty five, get here
• 38:19
Speaker 12: and get your spot so that you can get in
• 38:21
Speaker 12: and make sure that you can you can walk easily
• 38:24
Speaker 12: over to the boulevard and get there. And it's just
• 38:26
Speaker 12: gonna this is gonna be a lot of fun. We're
• 38:27
  Speaker 12: really excited. I'm really excited for it. I don't I
• 38:30
Speaker 12: think I know what to expect, but I'm not quite sure,
• 38:32
  Speaker 12: but I think it's gonna be. It's gonna be a
• 38:34
Speaker 12: great evening and uh, it's really gonna showcase Charleston and all.
• 38:38
Speaker 5: We have some super excit.
• 38:39
Speaker 3: And of course we got graduation when I'm Connell Seeman
• 38:41
Speaker 3: Convention Center. It's Hoover tonight. I think I believe that's correct.
• 38:45
  Speaker 3: I've got I've got notes here somewhere. I think it's
• 38:47
  Speaker 3: uh somewhere.
• 38:49
  Speaker 5: I believe that's correct.
• 38:49
Speaker 3: Yeah, Hoover and and uh and I hate to say
• 38:52
Speaker 3: another school, but I've got so many I got so
• 38:55
Speaker 3: many notes here about everything that's going on here. But yeah,
• 38:57
Speaker 3: the way we have we have graduation tract me.
• 38:59
Speaker 12: It's still gonna sta tracking going on. And then do
• 39:03
Speaker 12: you want to get in tomorrow or do you want
• 39:05
Speaker 12: to do that in the next segment. Okay, yeah tomorrow. Yeah,
• 39:07
Speaker 12: so tomorrow, tomorrow and into the weekends, so that we're
• 39:10
Speaker 12: doing so tonight again, you know, Court to Hall, canall
• 39:14
Speaker 12: to Lee that that square is going to be all
• 39:16
Speaker 12: start at five tomorrow and then throughout the entire weekends,
• 39:19
Speaker 12: so Saturday, Sunday, Monday. You know, the two things to
• 39:23
Speaker 12: really keep in mind. Number one is is there going
• 39:24
Speaker 12: to be two areas that are completely kind of shut
• 39:26
Speaker 12: off the traffic for most of the day, probably six
• 39:29
Speaker 12: am to six pm. The number one is going to
• 39:32
Speaker 12: be the south Side Bridge. South Side Bridge has closed down.
• 39:34
Speaker 12: There's no getting through.
• 39:35
Speaker 3: It and it starts win.
• 39:36
Speaker 12: It starts basically six am Saturday morning to six pm.
• 39:40
Speaker 3: Make know of that south Side Bridge closes at six
• 39:43
Speaker 3: am Tomorrow morning ahead Harm morning.
• 39:44
Speaker 12: It'll open up about six pm Tomorrow night. But you know,
• 39:46
Speaker 12: just playing on for pretty much all day Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
• 39:50
Speaker 12: South Side Bridge is going to be closed. It's going
• 39:52
Speaker 12: to be it's gonna be blocked off. There's no way
• 39:53
Speaker 12: for us to move traffic through that during the race.
• 39:56
Speaker 12: The part of the boulevard that sort of is you know,
• 39:59
Speaker 12: the Court for the most of the Court Street we're
• 40:03
Speaker 12: hat at is that area is going to be completely
• 40:05
Speaker 12: closed off. Every place else in town, including Louden Heights Road,
• 40:08
Speaker 12: Bridge Road, Warts Avenue, and all of downtown. You will
• 40:11
Speaker 12: be able to maneuver through there are you will be
• 40:14
Speaker 12: able to get through. We're what we call soft closures
• 40:16
Speaker 12: where you might have to wait for the race to
• 40:18
Speaker 12: pass through and then you'll be the police officer or
• 40:21
Speaker 12: volunteer will allow you to come through at that point
• 40:23
Speaker 12: in time. So if you live on Louden Heights or
• 40:26
Speaker 12: if you live on Bridge Road, you're not locked in
• 40:28
Speaker 12: your house Saturday, Sunday or Monday you just go to
• 40:30
Speaker 12: the go to you know, go to leave your home,
• 40:33
Speaker 12: and then a police officer will get you through as
• 40:34
Speaker 12: soon as they can. Most wait times four to five minutes,
• 40:37
Speaker 12: not a long period of time. We'll just wait for
• 40:39
Speaker 12: the block to come through, make sure everything is safe,
• 40:42
Speaker 12: and then you can be able to proceed on out.
• 40:44
Speaker 5: Give yourself more time.
• 40:45
Speaker 12: If you have to be someplace at eleven, don't leave
• 40:47
Speaker 12: it ten forty five, you know, give yourself a little
• 40:49
Speaker 12: more time. But no for sure, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, you're
• 40:53
Speaker 12: not getting over the South Side Bridge until probably seven
• 40:55
Speaker 12: o'clock each night. That that's when it's going to open up.
• 40:58
Speaker 12: That's the big hard closure for the weekend as it relates.
• 41:01
  Speaker 5: To the races.
• 41:03
Speaker 12: And I would suggest if you're going to come to town,
• 41:06
Speaker 12: come to town through the Leon soullifon exit, you can
• 41:09
Speaker 12: get into town through the Greenbriar Street exit, but this
• 41:11
Speaker 12: will be a little take you a little bit more time.
• 41:12
Speaker 12: Get into town through the Leon Sullivan exit. That's going
• 41:15
Speaker 12: to be the best way if you need to get
• 41:16
Speaker 12: sort of into downtown. To get downtown. But the biggest
• 41:20
Speaker 12: thing to remember again, you will be able to get
• 41:23
Speaker 12: out of your homes.
• 41:23
Speaker 5: You will be able to get where you need to go.
• 41:26
Speaker 12: It might take you an extra few minutes, but you
• 41:28
Speaker 12: will not be able to get over the Southside Bridge.
• 41:31
Speaker 12: That's the biggest change heading into the weekend.
• 41:34
Speaker 3: But Dave Allen showing five Vedielive has brought to you
• 41:36
Speaker 3: part by your hometown baseball team, the Charleston Dirty Birds.
• 41:38
Speaker 3: They're not in town this weekend. The Dirty Birds begin
• 41:41
Speaker 3: a Memorial weekend seriously at Lexington tonight. Visit Dirtybirds Baseball
• 41:45
Speaker 3: dot com or there's social media for more information. Now,
• 41:47
Speaker 3: there's so many folks, Matt that have got watch parties
• 41:50
Speaker 3: hm going on. I mean I've heard all about them
• 41:52
Speaker 3: from up in the hills. I know I saw one
• 41:54
Speaker 3: of the businesses and I'll give a big shot out.
• 41:56
Speaker 3: I think it was Geraniums, one of the businesses up
• 41:58
Speaker 3: there that has posted, hey, you know, come out and
• 42:00
Speaker 3: visit us. We got a lot of stuff going on.
• 42:02
Speaker 3: There's a lot of other businesses up there that are
• 42:04
Speaker 3: doing the same thing there as just like the downtown businesses,
• 42:07
Speaker 3: they are really really embracing this thing.
• 42:09
  Speaker 5: Man. Yeah.
• 42:10
Speaker 12: So we've got several different areas. The I think it's
• 42:13
Speaker 12: called the Bridge Road bike Bash. That's Monday. Okay, that Monday,
• 42:18
Speaker 12: and I think they've got different sort of organic watch
• 42:20
Speaker 12: parties going on Saturday and Sunday up there, but the
• 42:22
Speaker 12: big one for them is Monday in that Bridge Road
• 42:25
Speaker 12: shops area. And if you were able to go last year,
• 42:28
Speaker 12: it was a lot of fun. It's going to be
• 42:29
Speaker 12: a lot of fun this year. With the addition of
• 42:32
Speaker 12: and I'm pretty sure we figured out because we used
• 42:34
Speaker 12: the fire station, is that they'll have this video screen
• 42:36
Speaker 12: that you'll be able to watch the rest of the
• 42:37
Speaker 12: race where they have the things up there as well.
• 42:39
Speaker 12: So that'll be a nice addition this year, so you'll
• 42:41
Speaker 12: be able to view what's going on in the rest
• 42:43
Speaker 12: of the rest of the route where they have cameras.
• 42:45
Speaker 12: So you've got Bridge Road, You've got Wartz Avenue. They're
• 42:48
Speaker 12: using the brand new park and the Merin City Council
• 42:50
Speaker 12: last year redid the entire park on Warts Avenue.
• 42:53
Speaker 5: They're going to be using that.
• 42:55
Speaker 12: Do you know that complete community community coordination between Jim
• 42:59
Speaker 12: Harris and many or they'll be there Saturday, Sunday and
• 43:02
Speaker 12: Monday having a great time. You've got City Center that's
• 43:05
Speaker 12: going on as well. And then you've got what State
• 43:08
Speaker 12: Tourism is doing. And at the capital with Vandelia, I
• 43:11
Speaker 12: believe on Saturday and Sunday that they'll have their watch
• 43:13
Speaker 12: parties as well, so plenty of opportunities to go, and
• 43:17
Speaker 12: you can go and enjoy the watch parties. It's free
• 43:20
  Speaker 12: to watch. I mean, it's not you're not people aren't
• 43:22
Speaker 12: charging you. I mean obviously if you want to, you know,
• 43:24
Speaker 12: do the food vendors or you want to get something
• 43:26
Speaker 12: to drink, you pay for it like regularly. But you know,
• 43:28
Speaker 12: just go and enjoy the enjoy the environment. I I don't.
• 43:32
Speaker 12: I'm torn. And everybody has their own favorite places to
• 43:35
Speaker 12: where to watch the race. A lot of people love
• 43:37
Speaker 12: the bridge round. I like to start finish line. I
• 43:39
Speaker 12: like the downtown part of it, uh from what I
• 43:41
Speaker 12: watched last year. But it's all really fun because it's
• 43:44
Speaker 12: just a lot of people together and it's just you know,
• 43:47
Speaker 12: I can't tell you how I mean last night. You
• 43:50
Speaker 12: know the phrases that went through of oh, you know,
• 43:52
Speaker 12: I used to ride my bike and that winter. You
• 43:56
Speaker 12: hear a lot of wow more cow bell police, which
• 43:58
Speaker 12: is we don't need more cowboys, get me more?
• 44:00
Speaker 3: What is that? What is that thing Brian Hughes has got.
• 44:03
  Speaker 3: I mean it's like a it's like the uzzy of
• 44:05
Speaker 3: cowbells or something. I mean what it is that.
• 44:08
Speaker 12: I would call it the Brian Hughes of cowbells?
• 44:11
  Speaker 3: Boisterous.
• 44:13
Speaker 12: Okay, So if if there was a Brian Hughes version
• 44:15
  Speaker 12: of a cow bell, that's that's what he's got. So,
• 44:19
Speaker 12: but that is it's just really exciting. People are having
• 44:21
Speaker 12: a great time. And I think that a lot of
• 44:23
Speaker 12: it too is it's a big educational experience, and I
• 44:28
Speaker 12: think to please, if you see somebody who you knows
• 44:30
Speaker 12: with a bike team, they're all willing to talk to you.
• 44:33
Speaker 12: They're all willing to explain to you, like, oh, this
• 44:36
Speaker 12: is what we're doing. Like there, we were sitting there
• 44:37
Speaker 12: last night watching and we couldn't quite figure out where
• 44:40
Speaker 12: they were in the race or what the pack was.
• 44:42
Speaker 12: And there was somebody who's with a team. He's like, well,
• 44:43
Speaker 12: you know they're on this lap, but they got another
• 44:45
Speaker 12: thirty minutes to go. This is why this person's moving
• 44:48
Speaker 12: up and back. They're thrilled to talk to you so
• 44:50
Speaker 12: to educate. Yeah, if you have a question. They're very
• 44:52
Speaker 12: proud of their sport and.
• 44:54
Speaker 3: Also like the fact that some of the athletes are
• 44:56
Speaker 3: are going to be heading to the hospitals in the
• 44:58
Speaker 3: area today too. I heard about that this morning. Yeah,
• 45:00
Speaker 3: I'd be visiting some sick kids while there in town.
• 45:02
  Speaker 5: They're just they're they're they're really great partners. They just
• 45:06
  Speaker 5: really are. Uh.
• 45:07
Speaker 12: And we have so many and I think you know
• 45:10
Speaker 12: in in in this community and we talk about it
• 45:12
Speaker 12: all the time, and I sound like a broken record,
• 45:14
Speaker 12: but it's the most important thing to point out.
• 45:15
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 45:16
Speaker 12: We had a little issue yesterday where they ran out
• 45:17
Speaker 12: of some material and they couldn't find any and they said, Mike,
• 45:21
Speaker 12: what are we going to do?
• 45:21
Speaker 5: Here was some of the protective barrier.
• 45:23
Speaker 12: For the for the the road course and they needed
• 45:26
Speaker 12: some kind of insulation that went in pipe so that
• 45:29
Speaker 12: they can do that, and they were out of it.
• 45:31
Speaker 12: They couldn't find any and within two phone calls to
• 45:34
Speaker 12: moll And Plumbing, they had twice as much as they
• 45:37
Speaker 12: needed to finish the thing, I mean, and.
• 45:38
Speaker 5: They were just floored. They just like, how did you
• 45:39
Speaker 5: all have this so fast?
• 45:41
Speaker 12: What we do in West Virginia to partners, Yeah, we
• 45:43
Speaker 12: have people who help and it's a phone call away.
• 45:45
Speaker 12: It's not seven emails away, it's a phone call away.
• 45:47
Speaker 12: And there are thirty stories like that, and but it's
• 45:51
Speaker 12: really it's reciprocated back to us from them and their athletes,
• 45:54
Speaker 12: and it's it's just really really been a real joy.
• 45:57
Speaker 5: But man, we kick in the gear tonight and throughout
• 45:59
  Speaker 5: the entire weekend.
• 46:00
Speaker 3: All right, Matt, all right, Matt, we got to wrap
• 46:01
Speaker 3: it up. Well, I had a quick question yet for you,
• 46:06
Speaker 3: and then I gotta go to break. Who maps out
• 46:08
Speaker 3: the coursees the city or the cycling officials or is
• 46:10
Speaker 3: it a combination of both.
• 46:11
Speaker 12: The cycling officials create the map for the for the
• 46:14
Speaker 12: race and then come to us and say does this
• 46:17
  Speaker 12: pose any problem?
• 46:17
Speaker 5: Yeah, so we kind of move it around.
• 46:20
Speaker 12: But they're the ones who create the race because they've
• 46:21
Speaker 12: got to have a certain amount of time, they gotta
• 46:23
Speaker 12: have certain amunt of distance, all that kind of stuff.
• 46:24
Speaker 12: They create the track and then they say, hey, does
• 46:26
Speaker 12: this work? And you know, they're very willing to tweak
• 46:29
Speaker 12: things every now and then with stuff, but they're the
• 46:31
Speaker 12: ones who come up with it because they need a
• 46:33
Speaker 12: certain thing. Because remember, this is a national qualifying, national
• 46:36
Speaker 12: championship event. This just isn't people riding bikes. People are
• 46:39
Speaker 12: winning national championship and going and going to the Analympics,
• 46:42
Speaker 12: So you have to have it's it's not something where
• 46:44
Speaker 12: they can give on all. We can just shorten the
• 46:47
Speaker 12: route a little bit. Now, they got to have a
• 46:48
  Speaker 12: certain distance.
• 46:49
Speaker 3: Certain, all right, we gotta go a Matt, great job
• 46:51
Speaker 3: you and the city and everybody and get out there
• 46:53
Speaker 3: and enjoy it this weekend.
• 46:54
Speaker 5: Yeah, I have some fun and it'd be great.
• 46:56
Speaker 12: Just just have some fun, give yourself some time and
• 46:58
Speaker 12: remember Saturday, Sunday and Monday. You're not getting over the
• 47:01
Speaker 12: bridge road or I'm sorry, you're not getting over the
• 47:03
Speaker 12: south Side Bridge. Just just know that and plan quarterly.
• 47:06
Speaker 12: But you will be able to get out of your neighborhood.
• 47:08
Speaker 3: I will get through the streets back after this and
• 47:10

• 49:51
Speaker 3: texts here before we get out of here. Text says this,
• 49:55
Speaker 3: this has nothing to do with anything we've talked about today,
• 49:56
Speaker 3: but that's okay. You recall the story about the truck
• 49:59
Speaker 3: driver that did a lot of damage up at the
• 50:03
Speaker 3: cemetery at spring Hill Cemetery and then just kind of
• 50:05
Speaker 3: unhooked his truck and left the trailer there. There was
• 50:07
Speaker 3: a lot of misinformation floating around on social media, and
• 50:11
Speaker 3: yesterday the name of the driver was released. His name
• 50:14
Speaker 3: was Sean Copenhaber out of Saint Louis, Missouri. We we
• 50:16
Speaker 3: of course reported on it, and he's in jail now
• 50:19
Speaker 3: the Texas. The name of the spring Hills Cemetery truck
• 50:21
Speaker 3: driver was released. Sean Copenhabor, as I said of Saint Louis,
• 50:24
Speaker 3: doesn't sound like an illegal alien to me. Should we
• 50:27
Speaker 3: expect a correction on social media from certain people. I'll
• 50:32
Speaker 3: leave the name out, but I'm gonna go ahead and
• 50:33
Speaker 3: say your answers. No Tex, says Dave. Can I just
• 50:37
Speaker 3: please make one request of everyone. Please do not refer
• 50:39
