Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: time for the 49ers rush podcast.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: And here's your host, John Chapman.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: What is going on, faithful?
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: It is absolutely incredible to be with you guys today.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: This is episode 1,698 of the 49ers rush podcast.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: And today is a big day.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers had their second installment of joint practices against the charges down in Los Angeles.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: I was not present.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: But it was pretty awesome because the chargers do not put the stipulations on practice like the 49ers do so we have a plethora if you will ill guapo of clips and now most of the clips are coming from chargers, you know fans beat writers, you know writers so definitely major chargers slant on it and the majority of those clips were on the 49ers defense verse.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: the chargers offense.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: So that's going to be kind of the side that goes out.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers beat writers were there, not very many clips that all came out from them, but they kind of operate under the 49ers rules.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a little bit different.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: Now, have you said all those things?
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: There is good and there is bad.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of both to be honest with you that we're going to be going over today.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of a lot of installments.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: I have a ridiculous amount of notes that I want to get through.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: And on top of that, we're going to continue to expand the 49ers rush community.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: We did our free Jerry Rice tier giveaway membership to the 49ers rush.com and our Patreon channel.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: Laced in the description of the video last week.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, one of our Patreon subscribers caught wind.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: It said, man, that's a really cool idea.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: I want to do it again.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so we will be
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: free to you subscription to the 40 hours rush.com where we break down every office, defense, special teams play through the coaches take the all 22.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: We have zoom hangouts monthly, which have to announce that one.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: Our next zoom hangout will be Saturday.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: August 29 that 2 p.m. now we usually don't do Saturday hangouts, but the NFL pushed up their 53 man cut down date and we've done this for like five years in row now where we get together on zoom and we go through and we make our 53 man roster.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: So Sunday, August 30 at that 3 p.m. is now the NFL cut down date where you go from 91 to 53 so we're going to get together Saturday right before that.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: come up with our 53 man roster will see how we do.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: We usually do pretty well.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: There's always wanted to kind of, you know, major question marks that we missed or Shenahan deals that he does with the vets or injuries that he uses to keep back into the roster players.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: So our next zoom hangout, that's Jerry Rice tier and up get to do that.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: Now if you sign up for the Frank Gore tier and above, then you get all of the breakdowns, but if you want the betting and the zoom hangout,
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be giving away a year-long subscription.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: Won't cost you anything.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: And the person that sponsored this giveaway wished to remain anonymous, but this is what they said.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: Now, given this is somebody that lives outside of California, so it makes a little bit more sense here.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: This is what they said.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: Being part of the rush family means the world to me.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's all of everyone, since I was six years old, and it's better than I could have imagined.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: I just want that for someone else.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: Inco- how bad is this is that?
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: Come be a part of the community, get to know people, build those relationships, and learn, watch the tape, get educated, way cheaper than signing up for it on NFL plus or whatever else, and you get the bedding advice each week, and you get the community to zoom hangouts, all that stuff.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: So, check out for that.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: We will be doing that at the conclusion of today's episode.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: So, stick with us.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: Love all the hashtag CCs, the countdown crew.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: Come in in, clutch, look at this Michael finally catch the live show.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: We're glad you hear me.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: We are glad you're here.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: We got a whole bunch of injury talk.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, can it?
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: Man, it saw that the the move is done.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: Glad that you're in the spot.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: Kids start the new school.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: Now, oh, look at this.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: The strike and gold podcast Rob Lauder had to hit my friend.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: It was awesome catching you and Kyle Poe's the other day.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: You guys crushing it.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: It was always.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody, you'll check out the striking gold podcast if you haven't yet.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's on YouTube now.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: Big time.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, nobody better Rob Lauder.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's the best dude.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, not put that one up.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: Love all the hashtag cc's now.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just talk a little bit about some transactions.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's a majories.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: Lots of fluidity as Kaushenahan in John Lynch at the back end of training camp preseason.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: They like to cycle the back end of the roster.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: To try to expand the amount of players that they feel they can claim off waivers and a given moment.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: to help the team out if injuries stack at a certain position, whatever else.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: So three new additions, one of them back from two of them back.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: Evan Anderson was added to defense attack.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'd big Evan Anderson fan.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's a lot of defensive tackles in this.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers defensive tackle room that play like Evan, you know, he's a space eater guy defensive and victor dimey cagey what she you go back nine years now.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: He was one of my favorite players.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: Cause I think it was wait for us really, really liked him back in the day and then Nick's a kill's back.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: What is dead may never die that the on grade joy of 49ers players.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: He just that dude.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: He just
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: keeps coming back, man, uh, it's just what it is.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Now the 49ers in order to make space for those three players release defensive linemen tied to Leon.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: He was injured, so that's a waved injury settlement offensive linemen key on Smith and running back, Khalil Herbert, who I thought actually played all three of the runbacks to play the first preseason game were kind of on par with each other, but I thought Khalil Herbert played the best.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't fit the Shanahan mold and have that upside, he just kind of moves on and I said this yesterday as soon as that news came out.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: That man, the good news about releasing Khalil Herbert, not adding a runny back needs one of the young bucks is about to come back.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan James or Kaylon Blackwell, today, guess what, Kaylon Black is back at practice, went through the all the team, had a couple big runs, we'll talk a little bit about that as we go through our practice notes.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: We've got a lot of those, a lot of practice notes today.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, notorious.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, man.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Should we be hitting the panic button after today's practice?
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: a couple things.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: Was it a good practice?
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: Brock pretty said quote.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: I would if I say quote, I've got to go down and make sure I say it correct.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: Brock said quote honestly don't think it was our best day in quote on today.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: So deal with that what you will now joint practices are basically screaming settings where
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: You don't really even thud up too much.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: You try to run behind you, negotiate terms, almost like a battle.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: Are we thudding up today or we run it through, or are we thud, are we wrapping up?
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: Or are we just pursued angles touching?
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: And hip, what are we doing?
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: Look like they were kind of touching hips pretty much.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like so they lowered the contact down pretty much.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody went to the ground, whatever else.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: So a little bit light.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely the charger seemed to have the better day.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: No, I mean, Justin Herbert just destroyed the safeties and we'll talk about that.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: Number 27 just got torch time and time and time and time and time and time again.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: I saw at least seven negative clips where 27 just got destroyed in the run game.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: It is funny because I say, nobody like thud it up.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: Omarion Hampton.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: buried number twenty seven on a run play just right up the eight gap twenty seven came down like he does in games soft not looking for contact in a married him to just ran right through his face lifted him up off the ground fully play I mean one of the worst truck plays you'll ever see in the NFL and it was in a scrimmage like tells you a lot um... yeah just a Herbert lit up the safety's in the past game um... wide receivers lit up our corners
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: deep and in the red zone, lad McConkey basically had free run.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: Not a lot of positives, really, really not.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: Couple of interceptions from the 49ers offense, but it was similar to this last year against the Broncos.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then they go out in the preseason game in the 49ers handle their business.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: Bad days happen.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's just what it is.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's a bad day.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: And going from the Titans
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: that is a monumental jump.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: The chargers have a great roster and amazing coaching staff.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: I would not say that about the Titans.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: They are a rebuilding team.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little out, you know, Robert Sola's head coach, cool.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Gus Bradley is a DC.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: All right, talk about their offensive coordinator, the bald man.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not the biggest fan of that either Cam Ward was the worst quarterback of the preseason so far of any quarterback that's taking preseason snaps.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's dead last like now you're playing Justin Herbert playing hardball playing McDonald Mike McDonald like McDonald's sorry
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: pretty different type of expectation.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, pump the brakes.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: A joint practice does not make the season, and especially whatever you're looking at Nick Bosa's not playing, Christian McCaffrey's not playing.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: You saw just a couple snaps from Trent Williams, couple snaps from Mike Evans.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of your studs, all stars are not out there, a little bit different.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: Now, injuries, I want to go through this
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: Christian McAfrey, um, Kyle Shadeh had said, you know, if this was game week, he would have practiced today, you have to always take Kyle in injuries with salt, like Kyle is a liar whenever it comes to injuries, right?
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: I remember two years ago, where Christian McAfrey didn't play the first nine games said, yeah, Christian McAfrey might suit up.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: You might start week one and then nine
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: It is a little bit different because we've seen CMC throughout the majority of training camp this year.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: And he's looked really, really explosive.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: We saw him do a warm-up last week.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: The contract stuff, I think, is total BS, Florio's over 1000 on any type of breaking 49ers news.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: Unless it's contract, details, Florio has no access to the Niners at all.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: That dude hates the 49ers and is literally over whatever.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Sims.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a longboard that dude's a, no, just no, just absolutely not.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Um, anyway.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: So, and then they even put out that Christian McAfrey's going to be taking part in the team's next practice.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: So you, you, you now get the day off and anticipation, you'll do like walk through, you have the game Thursday, probably no practice Friday,
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: if it's Saturday, practice again.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: So the expectation is, Christian McAfrey's out there doing something, probably impads going through warm ups, that's about it.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe some individual work.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: Now, biggest negative entry news, this is not breaking news if you've been watching the 49ers Rorschfockcast.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: McKill Williams, the first round pick from last season, is further away than the other guys, referencing George Kittle, referencing Nick Bosa, referencing Christian McAfrey.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: But obviously his ACL took place six weeks after Nick Bosa.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: not that like this is not breaking news, but for Kyle to say, yeah, he's further away from those guys.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, quote, week one would be a long shot, but we haven't ruled it out yet.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: Week one ain't happening folks.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: It probably got to stay on the pub, give him that extra month, allow the $40 have that extra roster spot because if because Mikhail Williams started on the pub,
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't count as a 53 man roster spot.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: You'd have to use an IR designated to return to get off the pump after four weeks missed, but that's about where he should be.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's about where he should be.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now, also, probably, may negative Christian Kirk.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle Shannon was asked about Christian Kirk.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, you know, Christian Kirk, his, his, you know, calf strain, he had the same things happen in OTAs and he didn't even get through the very first practice.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't even get to team.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: He said, Christian Kurt just has a practice says, quote, we love the guy, but you got to hope he gets some reps, you ain't making the roster if you don't ever get reps. And here we are 10 days away from cut down date.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's about where we are.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, Christian Kurt making this roster looks like an outside shot.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe cut and bring back.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: But the days of Christian Kurt making this roster,
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: Dude has a finished practice.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: Very similar to what happened to Jacob County last off season like I don't know.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know on Christian Kirk.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: I really don't now positive news.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: Katelyn Black back at practice that is huge Mayoka said it was very active day for Black.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: Barrel said a couple big runs early.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: Barrel's put out the clip after Probably about an hour after practice ended
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I looked at the clip and I was like, do that might have been four or five yards.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like during with James rain behind him, tagged his hip and it looks like, oh, wow.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he kept running and you ran into 30 yards.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like,
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: Durman James makes that play nine out of 10 times.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Kail and Black trucks and like Omar and Hampton does to Jaya Brown, but I don't think that's ever happened to Durman James in his life, let alone from a third round rookie.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: That one gonna happen, but looked good, looked apart.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's awesome for Kail and Black to get any type of reps at this stage because he just has it played.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's 25 year old rookie.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta get out there and get reps. Miss way too much time.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: I expect him to play a lot.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: This Thursday game.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be Caitlyn Blackwatch.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a lot to prove.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: Lot to prove.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: Key on white back at practice.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's huge.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be a starter as long as Mcill Williams is out.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I project the defensive end starters week one to be Nick Bose and Key on white.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome that he's back.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm kind of shocked that wasn't talked about much.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: Key on white will be the starting till Mcill Williams returns and shows he could be
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: kind of at that spot, but the huge positive news day to Marcus Robinson back after sitting out for one day, still no Curtis work.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: Dominique Poonie and George Kittle were seen in the weight room, not necessarily lifting weights, don't know what they were doing there.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: Next to practice, but that is huge for Dominique Poonie because that means the protocol he's moving along, the fact that he traveled with the team he's in the concussion protocol.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's with the team.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's outside.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's, you know, doing things.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: That is huge.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: So the light sensitivity, your past that stage, all that stuff.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: So huge positive Dominique Pony, it just would lead to deduction wise.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's progressing through the percussion protocol.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's huge.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: And he's got several weeks until week one.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: I doubt you see him in this preseason or the next preseason game.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: Now Mike Evans,
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: Out and practice doing team look great through warmups great through the first part of team but halfway through practices on the sideline they were reports.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Wagner said he was taping his ankle, Mayoco said he was taking his quad, icing his quad, regardless, we have videos and photographs of him hanging out with Trent Williams on the sideline during practice chopping it up, smiling whatever else.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: So no cause of alarm there.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's just tightness, whatever else you wanna see.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: So that is the quick, a gauntlet running through all of the just real quick injuries, positive and negative.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: Those are there.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: Now, let's get to the practice report, the clips from the practice report, the good, the bad, the ugly.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot more bad and ugly than good.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny because like, if you're a mad man or woman and you bet preseason football, the $40 are favorite against the chargers only by half a point.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: But if you bet at any time anywhere this year, you know who you got to use.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: Football is back ladies and gentlemen, and whether you've been betting for years or you're just looking to get into the action for the first time, my bookie is where I'm playing.

- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: Get in now and cash in with my bookie.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: But anything anytime anywhere, and I mean anywhere.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: I bet in California, Texas doesn't matter where you are.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_01]: You can use my bookie.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: who couple awesome comments right here from Michael most of Christian Kirk's contract is guaranteed he signed you know his cap number is three million his guaranteed salaries 1.6 million they did a per game roster bonus of 170,000 now Kirk took less to come here could have got paid more but that roster bonus is pretty big for a back end of the roster
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: The guarantees were that roster bonus that that was huge.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: That was going to kind of help bump him up to that that spot, but man, you could cut him and bring him back and cut on put him on the practice squad, bring him back.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's he's a vet.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's not subject to waivers.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the largest.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: you know hurt or clip if you cut him now he could be pissed off and go sign somewhere else that's his prerogative but yeah you can just tell him like Christian man like you haven't practiced we're gonna wave you just so we can keep that spot we'd like to bring you back on the practice squad when you're back practicing for a week or two we elevate you and put you back on we'll replace your per game roster bonus add a little gravy on top man look in the
- 19:17[SPEAKER_01]: not too bad.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty easy to move off of Christian Kirk bring him back and you can have that meaning.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: You can sit down with them and say, Hey, man, this is what we want to do.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to cut you what we want you here.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: You just haven't practiced where we're tight on numbers at a couple of positions.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to cut you.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: Immediately sign you back to the practice ward will bump up your in-game roster bonus and we promised to elevate you after two weeks of full practices hit near GPS shenanigans the legend at this look at willy's need He's done it with so many wide receivers there's way more that are you know off the delete turner he's done it with several times like there is a precedent for that
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's important.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that's important.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man, look at this.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Tracy watching from Korea.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: Man, that is incredible.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: Dr. Jay says, Greece from Germany.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: We got notorious.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, been murky and wells today.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: OTA has been a lot cooler today, which is nice and lucky.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: I love that man.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then right here from LXplex.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: First pot, I've caught a couple years now.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's awesome and I appreciate you with some colleague man.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys just coming in from wherever.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: Just bunch of studs and studs and stud sets.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: let's get to the practice report.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Victor Furr puts out a quote.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: He was the first one to put this out.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: It does a damn good job.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so thankful the Niners were able to add him to the beat report.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: The Niners fans are spoiled by the way.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_01]: That is a wonderful thing.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: And I hope you get more spoiled.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: I wish there were more Niners content creators because you can pick something from almost all of them.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: Vick to fur puts out a just a tweet, say a Justin Herbert and his receivers put on a show against the 40 hours defense.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: Big step up in competition going from Cam Ward in the Titans last week.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: That gets exploded.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I hate like the aggregators.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mind aggregators, but like at least a tribute.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Vix working his ass off out there, um, I don't even met Vic, but like people just copy it past his tweet and put it out there as if it's there.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I hate that.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that bothers the hell out of me.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: I just anyway, whatever.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'll look at this Richard.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: He says he's he's watching from Leeds England.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, I freaking love it.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: We're wide, baby.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I love it.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: I love everybody watching and listening from wherever it doesn't matter, but I understand
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little difficult now, maybe not with YouTube and all those things, but anyway, do with that what you will.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: So...
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: Jason Delgado, who was there at camp, I don't know who this person is, but he put out maybe 40 maybe 30 practice clips now not the best angle is you're not going to get from practice because you're not getting the all 22 down angle view and it's a mess and sometimes you can't see the player, sometimes you can whatever else that's right.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's right for escape.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: Prestige worldwide.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: Why why why.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: Very first clip goes out.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: Huge deep touchdown pass on a post route.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: Jair Brown just toasted deep, man, uh, by about six, seven yards.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, why'd receive or got behind them?
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: And again, all this from Justin Delgado, I'll mention if somebody else put a clip out there.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: And like,
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: Now, there would have been a sack, like, also probably could have had a sack on this play.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: But you don't touch the quarterbacks.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's a joint practice.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: So like you can discount this play all you want and like it's so funny.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: As a coach, D line coach, linebackers coach, coach, O line of coach receivers, I coach DBs, I've coached a lot of spots, guys.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't give a shit if it would have been a sack.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: You're the deep post safety and a cover three, get your ass deeper than the deepest.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: This dude got chosen by 67 yards.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: This same reason why marquee Seagull got benched last year and Kyle Shatton hand called him out.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: Can't be that middle safety and get beat on a post.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: Dude got toasted, man.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: Toasted it, and all the comments would have been a sack who cares, sack sack, sack, sack, like, dude.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: No, that is not the way the coaching world works.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: There is like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: And the funny thing about the clip is, Diomedor, the Nora turns, it just looks at number 27, it's just like, what the fuck are you doing, man?
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what are you doing?
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: This is so simple.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: You're the middle, deep, third, safety.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: what are you doing?
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just that play down.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going in the order of the clips that Jason Delgado posted, an awesome job.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: There's a clip of Ephesians's prysack and beat on a double moved.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: He just he bit on the flat gets toasted a strowman out of position as well.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: Possible sack on this play by Ramello height 94.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: He was celebrating like he would have got there.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: But again,
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: You can't be, you can't get beat on double moves in a cover three.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: You just cannot.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: And price-ock did big time.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: Also another clip of Ephesians jumping inside on an outside stretch play.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, just the running back, gave them the dead leg.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: Ephesians price-ock shot inside.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then right outside, very similar.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: We've had cornerbacks do that a lot but what have been a huge game like your job is outside continue.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: You got to turn it in and don't try to be over aggressive and make the play on the end side can't do that.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, stay outside.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: So a couple of big negatives.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: One of them would have been to touch down the other one.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: Probably would have been a 25 yard run both on the rookie.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: Don't like to see that.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: Um, up and stout got beat on a skinny post depending on like he was playing outside leverage the whole time 27 was so far out of position.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of hard to guess what the coverage was like I've never seen up and get beat on a skinny post like that now.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: Lad McConkey is one of one drafted after the rookie peer solve with throw that in there if you really want to feel salty Um, but like it's hard to tell what the coverage was because jire Brown so far out of position if he was middle third
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: But it's like, why is Upton playing outside leverage because we almost always have our corners inside leverage.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way it was man kind of a weird.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: Was it a cover one under didn't look like man, but that's either horrible by Upton or horrible by Jair Brown.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: Drake Greenlaw, awesome.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: Beget Phil for no gain.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: Grayson got washed down Grayson halt and did wait like.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: He was, you know, in the B-Gap, he got washed to opposite A-Gap, Drake Greenlaw, float over the top of him.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it was a stunt move or anything.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: Just awesome play from Drake Greenlaw, would have been no gain.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: Quentin Johnson, Pete, Ronaldo, Green, deep for a touch out.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, super deep.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_01]: This is like a 65-yard freaking pass.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: It was crazy.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: Guess who was the safety to that side?
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: Number 27, no help at all.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_01]: They did the run play.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like, the chargers, and this is not the first time.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like, in my old place, I don't have the set up now.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I had this little cheap treadmill that I kept in my living room behind the couch.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I just walk it every morning and watch, you know, tape or whatever on my TV.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: And after I watched so much of the season, I started looking up opposing teens, highlights, against the 49ers.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: to see like the weekly highlights the team puts out there and there was about a month straight where about every other play of the opposing teams offensive highlights were all against number 27, Jaya Brown like he just big play machine for the opposing team.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: If the charges put out any clips like the 49ers always do from practice like we're ball it at camp.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: 27 is going to be an every day of one of them.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: There's just a few players that are seven on seven football players.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: They're not NFL football players whenever it comes to violence.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Walkens is one of those.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: A Kelli with her spoon so Sanbury Thomas is those.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: Jaiya Brown's one of those.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: Just do the same for you.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: This is not your thing.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'm open Jaiya Brown takes steps up.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like in the 49ers are putting them out there as if he's a leader and breaking down the team and he's on social media blasted people, whatever else.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you take those steps.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: This practice was the biggest indictment against 27 as I've seen in a long time, man.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not a Jaya Brown guy.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: Never happened.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I liked it when they drafted him.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was awesome as rookie year.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: I remember talking about man, pro bulls in the future and then you're like, well, maybe it's just the defensive coordinators.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's what Jayier will tell you.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: He'll tell anybody at least that how much he hates his old coaches.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: And it's there fault he wasn't successful.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, dude, you have Raheem Morris, who's a safety specialist, his entire damn career.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: You have Jerry Gray, who is a safety specialist, his entire career, and whatever he played, the dudes in the freaking college football hall of fame for crying out loud.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, oh, this year.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's everything.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's so easy and blah, blah, blah.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: You just got toasted like seven times.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: Run game pass game, don't matter.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: Very quick to tell who the problem is.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: Accountability is not there.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: And people like 27 sucks, man.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what to say.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_01]: boss skills are his thing and this a little more negative than we usually go and it is just you know it's a joint practice so you're not trying to jump to conclusions but I'm not done with the negative 27 plays just from today.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see how he responds because guess what?
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: Starters are going to play and he is a starter shouldn't be, but the 49ers don't care about safety.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's talking about left guard.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: I am way less concerned about left guard.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Colby at the left guard spot.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: I can sleep at night, 27 at the safety I cannot.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: Not one year, not two years.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: This is the start of year three of just horrible inconsistent play.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: What Connor Colby did in the preseason game was better than Jair Brown has done in the past two and a half seasons, and it's not close.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's not close.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now, ball skills can help you overlook a lot because he does have those.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: And Jair Brown will get interceptions.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: But given up this many touchdowns, it's not like you're just giving up touchdowns.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: You are not in the frame.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: you're all teammates staring you down like do what the what are you doing like what would you say you do here well i take the reports from the customers to the engineers do you take them well not exactly my system does i i i i i don't know man and i i just cannot believe they haven't added anybody they just haven't added anybody drafted mark he's brown last year to play a long
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: the safety is the biggest issue and it's not close.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's not left guard.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: Left guard is an issue.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying Connor Colby's a mate.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's not what I'm saying at all.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying if you're asking me who do I have more trust in number 75 Connor Colby or 27 it ain't close.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: I got more faith and Robert Jones than I do number 27.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: No faith.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have it.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: I do not have them.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, and then shoot Tobias, you ain't wrong, bro.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: You ain't wrong, he says, what is it with number 27 jersey and players, John can't say, like Dante Johnson, I loved.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: I hated him as an outside corner, late in his career, and they kept putting them there.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: That, like, I, I want Dante Johnson to coach the 49ers, like I love that too.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: They just kept putting him in positions.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: He could not be successful.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: He just couldn't be.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: I love them on special teams loved his attitude loved he just was not an outside corner year 12 13 14 and they kept putting them out there It so that that's whatever I started doing the whole I'm going to call them 27 and not his name because I don't want to draw negative attention to these guys.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's not what we are about here But it's just like damn man like Oh Yeah, yeah, anyway, let's let's take a break
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, anyway, he got to start coming for me.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, Maria, injuries happen on both sides of him.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: Now, understand, this practice took place down at the bolt facilities down in El Segundo, right by her most of each one of my fair place in the world.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: This was not by the substation.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: Injuries happened to both teams way more injuries happened today to the chargers than they did the 49ers.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: Sebastian Valdez, not having the best camp.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of splash plays gets picked up, fork lift and thrown like the freaking like Neo and the Matrix fighting Mr. Anderson in the subway fight.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like literally picked up and thrown, you're not supposed to be on the ground in these joint practices, but this dude literally got power cleaned into the Neo of his opposing player.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: Tyler B.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: Ad, bad as carted off, they're offensive line.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: The chargers, the past decade, it way before even, you know, a hardball got there.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: That offensive line is just state injured.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: And it starts with, again, this time, Quentin Johnson, he left very similar to my heavens where they ice him up, but he stayed on the sidelines, chop it and he even did press conference after.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: So he was banged up, but that, that's what teams do.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_01]: And Kyle Konart, who, you know,
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: Um, banged up as well, but like this is what teams do in these joint practices, preseason, whatever, if anything happens to a starter, you're done.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_01]: So like people flipping out because my heavens, you know, finish half the practice to put ice on his legs like dude, every team does this, every team does it.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_01]: If there's an issue, dude, you're done.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: We're not, we're not pushing through things.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: We're not trying to win joint practices.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: As that's how we're doing.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: So that Tyler Biotta's injury.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: That looks to be could possibly be seasoning and I hope that it doesn't and you're just seeing injuries mount up across the NFL.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_01]: And again, for those of you that are just like, God, leave the 49ers are the most entertaining.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: Not even the most entertaining in their division.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: The Cardinals have lost their first four draft picks, two of which, probably for the season, the other two are kind of nagging injuries.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: But if you look at the 49ers injury report, which, yeah, at one point there were 22 players on it not practicing, only one of them is long term.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: Only one.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: And that was where it came here, so on that's from last year.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: The dairy and low, ankle sprain, high ankle sprain.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to miss some time.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: Christian Kirk, we've talked about this one.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: None of those knock on wood, it continues, but like the 49ers are no longer like even in the top five of injuries for training camp in this whatever it preseason.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: They're not, they're not even probably top 10 if I'm going to be real with you.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's weird to say, I'm not going to say the 49ers are healthy.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: But they are not in their current state, one of the most injured teams in the NFL.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: Believe it or not.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm sure somebody's got to give me slippery jeopardy, anal bum covers.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we'll take it.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy to put it that way, um, a lot of tourists.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: I know Kung Fu.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, yeah, I love it.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, you know, one of the greatest lines delivered ever.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: I love the matrix.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get back to some more clips.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: Um,
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right here.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: Lad Maconkey, he's unbelievable.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: Beat Jack Jones for a touchdown, the red zone on a corner route.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Jones was all over him.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: Just lad Maconkey's lad Maconkey.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: And then the very next play, Lad Maconkey wins on the inside.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: A scramble play, you know, kind of broken down play and red zone trail and Justin Herbert's running around.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Jones, on him sticky coverage.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: Still got the touchdown.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: Contested coverage.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: He comes down with it like Jack Jones playing some good ball.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: Latin Maconkey's Latin Conkey.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: Fred Warner got a peanut punch force fumble out in the flats.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Jones recovered that one.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of good tape from Jack Jones.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: He got entered in the precinct game didn't miss a practice.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's out there playing and he's not a starter.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: But he's got to first off the bench.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: Probably anywhere.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: probably anywhere outside corner, nickel corner doesn't matter.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Jones, you've got four safeties that you got to feel confident in.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the best player today, I think this is probably agreed upon no matter what.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: Also a diggy zoo with the new addition, trade a third round pick for them.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of would be sacks, um, Brock said quote, Osa is one of the most slept on players in the league.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: Almost feels like he sacks me on every play in quote.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: Don't like to hear that second part.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: But talk about left guard in our center.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: Those are issues.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: Also just seems to be as advertised.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty excited.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: about what he brings.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really am right here in Vader.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Jack Jones covered up a force funnel.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: Got to get that ball.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: Got to get those turnovers.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: Ronald says it's only preseason.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing to worry about.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: Man, if you've seen it for two consecutive years in the same issues, then I'm worried, right?
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's confirmation, negative confirmation.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: player has it over come these issues.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: If you've given up multiple touch, if you've given up the most passing touchdowns in the past two seasons for the 49ers, and you're still doing the same things, that's where it's like, I don't know, man.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: The Tories Fred about to become the all-time leader in force fumbles.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh,
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I have time to look that up on the pod, but, uh, gosh, that's pretty awesome.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: Maria Dixichel continues on the Trent Taylor Scholarship to they love that guy, man.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: They just love him.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I said he'd be back.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: I said he'd be back and sure enough.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: He is back.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: More practice notes, marquee, seagull, beat on a good coverage, good coverage play in the red zone.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't see the player that like, this is more of the same of what we saw from last year for marquee, seagull, where he's always where he should be.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: Sticky coverage, just not making the plays.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: He said that personally, just a week ago.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, come on, man, like, you're there, you're there.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_01]: You're there, you're there, you're browning there.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: Marky Seagulls there still not make it a place.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: The results is the same.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a negative.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_01]: Now, offensively, which we didn't get a lot of 49er's offensive clips because again, they have stacked fields.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: And everybody was kind of filming the Chargers offense.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: It was in the Chargers home territory.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: Not a lot of it and they're going the same time.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: So the Chargers offense against the 49ers, the exact same time the opposing field, 49ers offense against Chargers defense.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: We got no clips there.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: Stribbling had a pair of touchdowns of the red zone drill.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_01]: One of them was a quick out, awesome separation, toe tap catch from Brock in the corner of the end zone.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: The other one was a fade route, just snap, throw it, kind of over the shoulder, Stribbling turns around, nice to the catch, not necessarily back shoulder, kind of put it on the helmet.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: of Dishon's dribbling cam inman.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: We got those clips from him, which is awesome.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's about the only clips I've seen that in the Kailun Black, like five yard run from Barrows outside of that, not much.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Brock was asked about Kailun Black and said, quote, Kailun Black look good with that little kind of Brock party little smile that that he does the all-shocks moment.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: That was there.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we talked about the chargers, you know, kind of pinnile or injuries, just to put into perspective, there's going to be bang up some bull plays.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think there was really only one major injury today.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: Now we usually find out two days later, if there were injuries from this Tyler Piotis, who's not a 49er player.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's huge.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's huge.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: Now, also huge.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: If you got any 49ers games this year, what's again, we have tailgates up for the 49ers season opener Miami.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be in Australia.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be in Atlanta.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be in Seattle.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be in Dallas.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be in Los Angeles and Mexico City.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: Plus.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's easy to open or go get your tickets 40 honors rush road trip dot com 40 Niners rush road trip is going into its sixth year with over 40 events at road games If you are traveling to see the 49ers play this year you got to come party with us and on top of that we give games trivia giveaways we partnered with tick pick this year all you have to do is search 49ers rush on any of the tick pick sites apps you name it and on top of all of that.

- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: Vorrow Bowman, Frank Gore, Patrick Willis, Fred Warner, are all players that we have worked with in the past and trust me.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to build the 49ers community, you're traveling by yourself, we got you covered 49ers
- 41:27[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, look at this.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: But we got research from Michael in the chat.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: You stood.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: He says, Fred Warner has to get 35 forced fumbles to take the lead for his career.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: now he's at 17.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: So he's got a double what he's had.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's played eight years.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's playing 16 more years.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_01]: But the numbers have gone up because if you look at 20, 23, you had four, 20, 24, you had four.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: So if he averaged four force fumbles, he'd have to play for another nine years.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, he's got to step up the game now.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, only got one in the play
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's got to get some more.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's and that's just me going off a profile reference.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure where Michael's getting his so he's got to step up his game.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to stay healthy play a lot, but I'm just going to say this.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: Fred Warner is the greatest coverage line back on the history in a fell in my opinion is already the greatest linebacker in four years history I get the Patrick Willis love that is a debate that I think should be had at this point and for some people say well he's not quite there that's OK for me the fact that he changed the position there is linebacker before and after Fred Warner.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: And the force fumble is just in addition.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: I, Fred's, Fred's the guy, man.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's the guy.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right there.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: How dare you, John?
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I get it.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: I remember when that question was starting to be asked three years ago and it was like not yet.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: And then two years ago was like, okay, we're getting close.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: Then after what he did in 2024, I'm like, okay, the conversation needs to be had.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying, man, and like, there's not a wrong here.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: They're that good.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: They're that good.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he's that good.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: The leadership, that is what sets it apart for me.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: The leadership in the coverage.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: But Patrick Willis, gosh, I still got my Patrick Willis jersey from back in the day.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: Got a meat pat.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: legend.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: And you're talking about the greatest linebacker group for franchise of any franchise.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: You can compare the Niners to anybody.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: Every single team is wanting compared to the Niners history, Kina Turner, Navarro Bowman, Drake Greenlaw.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I love it.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: Right here in notorious chapters, you think we pay puny next year.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: I do not.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: I hope they do.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: This is one of the ones where
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like gosh, I wish the 49ers whip if they never do.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: They just don't pay guards.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: They don't value the position.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: The 90s do not value guard or safety.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: haven't since Shanahan showed up and you're like, yeah, but they used second round pick on.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, who was the El Serito?
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: Aaron paints, who might get cut by the way, like that might be your answer.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take care of banks of his free.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: He is not when they, when the packer side of that contract, I laughed.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: I literally laughed.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, dude, good for banks, banks are great, dude.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: Not a very good football player.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's a replaceable level back-in guard starter, which is better than anything the Niners have right now at left guard.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: I would take Aaron Banks now in his career over Connor Colby, but not by a lot.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: Banks has been bad.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: He had one healthy season was good, been bad since then.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: I was shocked the Packers paid on that, and he might get cut.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: I would not trade for that contract.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_01]: But if he gets cut and wants to sign a minimum deal and come back and play for the Niners left guard, that would be awesome.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: He can rebuild his career, then go sign elsewhere.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: Small chance, I'd probably say a 25% chance he gets cut, but I don't follow the packers.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_01]: Niners have never chosen to pay a guard.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: They never have.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: They never have.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think Carver Willis, even if he wins the left guard spot, will eventually move to center.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_01]: I really don't know.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_01]: I wish they valued garden safety more and not just completely wrote off those two positions.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: No, right here, what I take banks over a puny God, no.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_01]: No, Dominique puny's way better way more consistent.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not even close.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_01]: Banks was good when he was healthy, but he hasn't been healthy in his career besides that second season.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's had nothing but injuries.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: And if he is any type of injury, he is not good.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: whenever he's healthy, he's good, but no, no, no, no.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: I want them to pay puny.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: I want them to pay puny.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that they will.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: I hope they do, but now guards become in one of these highest paid positions.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_01]: Guard used to be a position that just,
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: whatever.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: Guards are making ridiculous money now.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: It is no longer a cheap position.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: So when the nighters wouldn't even pay guard when it was one of the cheapest positions.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_01]: Now he got guards making 20 million a year.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: Not even great guards.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like Peter Scoronsky's good.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's not 20 million dollars a year good.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's not making more than Fred Warner, Christian McCaffrey George's kiddo
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Dominic Poonie's awesome what I paid Dominic Poonie $20 million a year probably not I don't think that that is a good allocation of resources now you look at the flip side in this roster and it's like man what if Dominic Poonie is gone what do you do you want to start Robert Jones and Connor Colby no big tone Connor Colby has done zero at least in his career we were able to say air and bases pretty good never said that about Connor ever never ever ever
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, thanks, second round pick, Connor Colby, seventh round pick way different expectations.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_01]: I would prefer Connor Colby at his current contract and Aaron Baines, which I think he's getting like 14, 15 million a year.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I just don't think that that's there, right?
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, the story is, oh, oh, I would take a massive hit if they lose puny.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: Who's in concussion protocol right now?
- 47:29[SPEAKER_01]: I want to pay puny and like, I have no problem halfway through the year if you do like what you did with
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: Colton McKibbits, like what you did with Drake Green Law, like what you did with Diomador, Lenore where you say, look, we will give you generational wealth now.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: If you sign an extension now, but it's going to be at a team discount.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to keep playing this year, then hit the free agent market, you're more than welcome to, but if you like the 49ers and you want to stay here, we'll give you a below market deal for two year extension, huge signing bonus.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: So like the going rate that I want to pull this up just so I could be accurate with my conversation.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I don't want to look at guard.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of look at let's look at contracts.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm over on over the cap and I'm looking at left guard and right guard contracts and average per year.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: So some of the new deals haven't been finalized.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm looking at the wrong one.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Peter Scronski got 25 billion a year.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: Tyler Smith, 24 million per year.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_01]: Matthew Burger on 23 and a half, Trace Smith, 23 and a half, Luke Gideki, 22 and a half.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: Land of Dickerson, 21, like, there's 10 guards making 20 million a year.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not paying that.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: So Dominique Pony, I'm looking at him and I'm saying, look, man, you want to test for agency.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: You might get paid like banks, but your career might go like banks.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to stay here, we'll pay you 16 and a half million to 18 and a half million a year.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: We'll put incentives all on that thing.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Aaron Payne's got 19.25 million a year.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's stupid of shit.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_01]: That was so dumb.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_01]: I like Aaron Payne's as a person.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: I love that he got paid, but no.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_01]: man that it might have to be more like it I'm talking to puny's agent right now saying dude we'll give you a two year 16 and a half million dollar deal if you make pro borrower all pro we'll throw in a million and a half per year you get paid right now injuries we protect you I would do that I and again this is where I differ from the 49ers office yes I would sign Dominique puny I want him to be a staple moving forward
- 49:40[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers behavior and valuation of the guard position would say they do not.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_01]: That is where I differ from what I predict and think the 49ers will do.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, invader no way in hell.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: They pay no G20 million, but there's 10 guards making that money.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: Is he as good as those 10?
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: No, but he's not far off.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: Paypony or we riot 8 million is the highest they probably go at O.G.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: and they haven't done that they haven't even gone to 8 million You look at bin barch last year.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: He was like a 1.2 million fully guaranteed Robert Jones this year like barely 2 million John Feliciano almost no guarantees they do not pay that position Just like they do not pay safety.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: They don't draft safeties.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_01]: You draft an all-pro safety in Toledo, Funga, and you let them walk
- 50:38[SPEAKER_01]: Dude goes against another all-pro, the year you let them walk out.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_01]: What's your biggest weakness right now?
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: Could you imagine if 29 was the safety instead of 27?
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: Can you imagine if 29 was the safety instead of 27?
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: Can you imagine that?
- 50:55[SPEAKER_01]: They don't do it.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: Don't expect a tiger to change his stripes.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_01]: Zebra, I don't remember the way the saying goes.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Tyrone, appreciate your man.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_01]: Great content.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_01]: I still think this will be good.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they need to be hunting.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_01]: Always need checks.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_01]: The NFL will humble you.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: You remember the year 2023 Niners where they steam roll the whole NFL?
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: You still lost three games in row in the middle of the season.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like the NFL is a beast.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_01]: Seventeen games is a marathon.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: There's
- 51:32[SPEAKER_01]: Even the Almighty Patriots going 17 and no, not one in the Super Bowl.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there is a humbling moment for every team in the NFL besides you go back to the 72 dolphins, but they played 12 games.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it is different now.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_01]: It is different now.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's just what it is.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: And so yeah, Joelle right here.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_01]: So two new guards and a center.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not what you want.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_01]: You want Connor Colby to step up.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis will be at a spot.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_01]: I want Carver Willis to be the center moving forward, long term, right?
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he takes it over this year.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think he needs a lot of development.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: Again, like I had an awesome question, let me go here from Brian C on Patreon, which we're about to give away a year-long subscription on our Jerry Rice tier membership for the 49ers rush.com and our Patreon channel.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: So stay tuned.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_01]: If you know your Niners, first one, they get question right.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_01]: Free year-long, all of our bets, zoom hang out, you name it, every office, defensive, special teams play, broken down.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_01]: So stay tuned.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: We're about to do that here in a few minutes.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: Brian, see you, a Patreon subscriber.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much, man.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_01]: He says love in the breakdowns is always for Carver and it's terrible anchoring.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: That is the issue with Carver.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: He can't anchor against a strong bull rush.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: He says curious, is there some techniques or something that can be taught by Forster or if you don't have it, you just don't have it and it is what it is.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, Brian.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate everybody that supports the show.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_01]: It can be taught.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the problem with
- 53:07[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis and the anchor against the bull rush not getting pushed back into the quarterback, which there were I think two or three plays in the very first preseason game where Carver Willis hit the quarterback as he was throwing because he got pushed back so far.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: The run plays for Carver Willis are incredible.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: Pass pro.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: Really, really bad.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: Bad against the Snunch, bad against the anchor.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: Now, yes, it can't be taught.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't have a true anchor step.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_01]: So whenever an interior office of line may get stood up, okay?
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you have bad balance, which that's another major issue with Carver Willis, terrible balance, gets his,
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: Helmet out.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's a waste bender not a knee bender.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_01]: So he's a hip bender which is bad.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_01]: He'll literally just bend out like, you know, wait out over his feet.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: Think about the way not get political here.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: They about the way Donald Trump stands where he's like lean and four all the time.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's just bad balance bad football position.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: And so then you got a lunch and just reaching grab.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_01]: you've got to be able to either bend your knees or get that anchor step.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's where you do basically almost like a corner teast step where you put your foot behind you and you turn it and you literally is a post step.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's an anchor step and you basically say, this is where the like concave back, like you, we would coach this and work on the flexibility of our linemen.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_01]: so that you can post up and you're just like you have one foot behind you and you're just like do it everything you can to just be that levy that just stops them from moving forward.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't do the post up.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't have the flexibility yet.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_01]: Now at center, that's not as important because you always have a guard helping you.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: So yes, it can be coached up.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_01]: But guys, that struggle with that through five years of college football, it's kind of hard to learn that and adapt to that in one NFL offseason.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_01]: That is a slow growth problem.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_01]: Now you can work in the weight room and get stronger, which will help you can work on your hand placement because what DT's do is to fork lift moves, where they get under your shoulder pads and then lift up.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: So now you've lost your leverage, your too high, and whenever you're too high, you don't have the strength
- 55:15[SPEAKER_01]: to anchor and stop them from moving new backwards.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_01]: This is the Carver Willis problem.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: This is what we saw on the draft tape.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_01]: This is what we saw on the very first crises in game.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_01]: This is what we've seen all through training camp.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it could get there.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_01]: But Carver Willis has not developed that yet.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: Don't expect that to happen in two weeks.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_01]: Don't expect that to happen in two months.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_01]: Could it improve?
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: Functional strength, better technique, better flexibility,
- 55:43[SPEAKER_01]: Better footwork.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot of better's.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_01]: Run game.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_01]: He just drives out moves.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_01]: Be ways incredible.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: A plus run game dude.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_01]: Best run blocking to interior alignment on the roster right now.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_01]: Bard none.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_01]: It is not even better than Dominique Poonie.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_01]: Dominique Poonie's pretty damn good.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis run blocks better now than Dominique Poonie does.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: I believe that.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_01]: Dominique Poonie had a badass anchor.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_01]: Back at Kansas, Carver Willis did not, has not, continues to not, right?
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: So Dominique Pune is much more well-rounded, past pro-run game.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_01]: You look at, check, print Dell.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't anchor well, but you don't have to as a center because you always have help.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_01]: The amount of times that a center goes one in one and pass, pass pro, a game is probably three to five, maybe three to six.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_01]: The amount of times a guard goes one on one in pass pro is probably seven to 15.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_01]: You see the difference there?
- 56:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's a big difference.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_01]: So if you can't anchor, they kick you inside even more.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what the long term issue is.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_01]: I would start Connor Colby, even though I'm not loving it.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's the best on the roster.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's the best on the roster.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_01]: A Vader, the Carver, the Carver right says, go, Carver, go.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_01]: Invader, I'm curious.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_01]: Would you start Carver right now over everybody else at left guard, even though past pro is what it is?
- 57:11[SPEAKER_01]: I know you watch tape, I trust you.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, invader, Carver planted, dude in the turf, and then stood over him like Jeremy Newbar.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, Carver already has that dog in the run game.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: 1000.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: 1,000% of their conversations ran a dreamy get dragged by the nighters love it love it love it I'm scrolling.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry if I miss it.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_01]: He says he would right there.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_01]: He guys in these comments man.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's so like
- 57:45[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing, like, here's the flip side.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say you roll with Carver Willis.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_01]: And Kyle Shannon seems to want to.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Forster does not.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Forster gets asked about the guard position.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, oh, it's two horse race, Robert Jones.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Colby, Robert Jones is out for me.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_01]: I would not.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_01]: Robert Jones, a backup at past, hey, I'd even be talking to him about, like, dude, you want a tire?
- 58:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like, maybe clears the rust off, but like, for me, my hat's all sideways now because it's whatever.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_01]: Um, now Niners on the Go podcast says, if that's a case, John, Carver needs to be the left card week one.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_01]: So here's here's the tradeoff.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_01]: You can run the ball great.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_01]: Brock Party's going to take two extra hits again.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe more.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_01]: You got a great quarterback in Mac Jones back up.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_01]: Are you willing to risk the health of Brock?
- 58:34[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's more important.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_01]: Brock, party in the past game, stay in upright or the ranking.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_01]: These are the questions.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_01]: These are the trade-offs.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_01]: This is what you got to figure out.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Colby seems if he at best, but Willis being good at the run and developing as but I've not seen developing as a pass blocker.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_01]: I've not seen that I've seen horrible means he could be much better.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the ceiling for Willis is way better.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's a fourth round pit, Connor Colby seventh round pit.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I agree, Connor Colby's way more consistent right now.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not close.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's not close.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Colby, you're going to get nine decent plays out of 10.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis, you're going to get five out of 10.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the five good plays are great plays in the run game.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_01]: The five pass plays like, Carver Willis is, sorry, Connor Colby's worst play past protection is better than most of Carver Willis's good plays past protection.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_01]: That makes sense?
- 59:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and Vader when Forcer was talking up Colby, I knew it was kind of the kids of the day.
- 59:37[UNKNOWN]: Ha ha ha.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'll bid you, you listen to Chris Forceder talk about Jake Brindell and yeah, that's there too.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_01]: All right, this is fun.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_01]: I love you guys.

- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_01]: Friday as soon as the film's up, I'm going to start breaking it down, which I'm super pumped.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_01]: My cousin, who is a pilot in the Air Force, will be he's doing a mission out here Friday, so I can spend some time with him with him with him super psyched.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_01]: So Friday, film might be up a little bit later, whatever, I don't get to spend time with this dude very much out of Travis, but whatever he's out here, I get to spend like half a day with him before he's got a flyback on his next mission.
- 1:00:34[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, we'll have all the film break down every single play.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's already up from week one.

- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_01]: Don't put the answer in there, even if you know it.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_01]: Don't be Bogart and Memberships.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_01]: This is for somebody to step in.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, here's the question.
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_01]: The first one to get the chat.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_01]: You only get one guess, so don't put a bunch of numbers in the chat.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_01]: Your first guess is all that matters.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_01]: How many first team all pros did Navarro Bowman have?
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_01]: My second favorite player in NFL in 49er's history.
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_01]: How many first team all pros did Navarro Bowman had?
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_01]: He was at the 49er's practice today.
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I went with the Navarro Bowman question.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_01]: And we're hoping to have Navarro Bowman out a few times for the 49er's first road trip this year.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_01]: We're trying to work it out, not finalized yet.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_01]: We're trying, those players are not cheap.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_01]: Um, in a little kind of detail or fact about Navarro Bowman.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_01]: Only two players, actually three players have as many first team all pros at the off ball lineback or position as Navarro Bowman that are not in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_01]: Only three.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_01]: Those three players Bobby Wagner, he will be in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_01]: Fred Warner will be in the Hall of Fame in Navarro Bowman.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_01]: Who I think eventually will be in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to have to wait a while.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but the number of all pros and the winner of today, which if your answer is before this person's, my chat brings a whole bunch of channels together because we're live on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Twitch, YouTube, blah, like all over the place, and so it combines all those things.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_01]: So the first answer in the correct answer on my screen goes to far escape forever.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_01]: The correct answer is the viral woman had four first team all pros.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_01]: Absolute freaky instead of a lot of people got to correct answer.
