- 1:15Speaker 2: I'm Heather McDonald. This is Patrick McDonald. Welcome back to
- 1:20Speaker 2: Juicy Scoop. Rainbow Renegade.
- 1:23Speaker 5: Renegade Rainbow.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Sorry, Renegade Rainbow is the name of your podcast.
- 1:27Speaker 5: Correct.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Very fun name. I love it. You know, in listening
- 1:32Speaker 2: to one of your episodes, I forgot that you had
- 1:35Speaker 2: gone on Bethany Frankel's show back when you broke away
- 1:41Speaker 2: from being a Bravo producer and how many people were
- 1:45Speaker 2: writing you really nice things and writing public things that
- 1:48Speaker 2: you were great to work with. And were you on
- 1:51Speaker 2: back when she was working on that, um, reality reckoning?
- 1:57Speaker 1: No.
- 1:57Speaker 5: So I did, I did her podcast after it was
- 2:00Speaker 5: like probably, I think like a year maybe after that.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Because it was after, yeah. After I had gone like
- 2:05Speaker 5: public with like my exit from Bravo and everything that
- 2:08Speaker 5: happened there. Um, and I'd like talked a little bit
- 2:11Speaker 5: about some, just some of like the work culture and
- 2:13Speaker 5: some of the stuff that kind of happens there. She
- 2:15Speaker 5: had had me on and, um, and yeah, it was crazy.
- 2:18Speaker 5: It was like, I was in Thailand, like, on vacation,
- 2:21Speaker 5: and she had me on. And so, like, with the
- 2:23Speaker 5: time zone, I, like, shot that at, like, 2 in
- 2:25Speaker 5: the morning in Thailand. Yeah. It was, like, jungle hut.
- 2:29Speaker 5: It was crazy.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Did you think that the reality reckoning was ever going
- 2:35Speaker 2: to be a big lawsuit windfall for any reality stars
- 2:39Speaker 2: when it kind of began?
- 2:40Speaker 5: Yeah. I mean, it definitely, like, got a lot of attention.
- 2:44Speaker 5: And I think it kind of got, like, squashed, unfortunately,
- 2:49Speaker 5: because of just the news cycle and other things moving on.
- 2:56Speaker 5: But yeah, that's kind of unfortunate because there are a
- 3:01Speaker 5: lot of things that were brought to light during that
- 3:03Speaker 5: time I think that were important and some conversations that
- 3:07Speaker 5: were started there that I think kind of have fallen aside.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Well, I think that Liam McSweeney's case is still going.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:14Speaker 2: From Real Housewives of New York.
- 3:15Speaker 5: Well, yeah, most definitely.
- 3:16Speaker 2: But I think hers was, like, really the only one.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I feel like the NeNe Leakes one was, like, settled
- 3:22Speaker 2: or whatever, but she's good with them again because she's
- 3:25Speaker 2: on the Real Housewives of Ultimate Girls trip.
- 3:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:27Speaker 2: So I think everything's fine with that.
- 3:29Speaker 5: I think there's a few more. There's, like, some below
- 3:32Speaker 5: deck stuff going on. There's, like.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 5: There's a few more going, but.
- 3:36Speaker 2: But the actual, like, thing that she, Bethany Frankel, was, like, spearheading.
- 3:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I think... Yeah, I think... Also, I just think as
- 3:46Speaker 2: audience members, you know, we like watching the show as
- 3:52Speaker 2: general people. And so basically you're asking the only people
- 3:55Speaker 2: that care about it are the viewers. And it's almost
- 3:59Speaker 2: like it's not something that we're going to march in
- 4:04Speaker 2: the streets about because then our shows will be taken away.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Even though we could all say, yeah, we do think
- 4:09Speaker 2: they should get residuals and health insurance and things like that.
- 4:14Speaker 2: But it's also like, it's not like you're like, what
- 4:17Speaker 2: do you mean a teacher doesn't have health insurance? You
- 4:19Speaker 2: know what I mean? Like we, I think not we,
- 4:21Speaker 2: but the audience still sees it as they have a
- 4:24Speaker 2: great life. It's a glamorous life. They know what they
- 4:27Speaker 2: signed up for. So there wasn't really anyone, normal people
- 4:31Speaker 2: like championing what they were going after. And I think
- 4:34Speaker 2: that's kind of why it's sort of fizzled or why
- 4:37Speaker 2: attorneys dropped it or whatever.
- 4:39Speaker 5: Yeah. I don't know. I think there was a pretty, uh,
- 4:41Speaker 5: there was a pretty like loud, um, like group of
- 4:45Speaker 5: people that kind of supported both sides of that, you know? Um,
- 4:49Speaker 5: because I think one of the main parts about it
- 4:51Speaker 5: was just calling for like better treatment of the people
- 4:54Speaker 5: like in front of and behind the camera and like
- 4:56Speaker 5: better protections, um, unionizing, just like making sure that everyone's
- 5:00Speaker 5: like taken care of and is safe on set. Um,
- 5:03Speaker 5: because yeah, There are a lot of times the reality
- 5:07Speaker 5: shows are like the wild, wild west. You're out filming things.
- 5:09Speaker 5: Things go wrong. You're in the real world. And, like,
- 5:12Speaker 5: there just needs to kind of be a little bit
- 5:14Speaker 5: more checks and balances to make sure everyone is safe
- 5:17Speaker 5: and everyone's protected physically, mentally.
- 5:20Speaker 2: It's hard because it's not part of the– SAG union.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Right. So I think it was very valid. The reality
- 5:27Speaker 5: reckoning thing was very valid and still is today. I
- 5:31Speaker 5: think that we're seeing that case in point with Secret
- 5:33Speaker 5: Lives of Mormon Wives. You're seeing how someone... I mean, look,
- 5:37Speaker 5: reality television is like freebasing fame. It is a straight shot.
- 5:42Speaker 5: It is a straight shot to fame. So you go
- 5:45Speaker 5: from being a normal person in complete obscurity to like
- 5:49Speaker 5: being at the top, number one on Hulu, on every
- 5:53Speaker 5: like blog, every magazine, all the things, you know, like
- 5:57Speaker 5: a Taylor Frankie Paul. Like her trajectory was like skyrocketing
- 6:00Speaker 5: to fame. And so that is enough. That is like
- 6:03Speaker 5: unbelievable pressure for anyone. And so if you're like already
- 6:08Speaker 5: kind of struggling, you have all this religious trauma, you
- 6:11Speaker 5: have sexual trauma, you have relationship trauma. I mean, to
- 6:14Speaker 5: be– Struggling with all those things to be in your
- 6:18Speaker 5: early 20s and to be catapulted into super, super stardom
- 6:23Speaker 5: in terms of like exposure to the world is– does
- 6:27Speaker 5: something to someone's mental health that I don't think we
- 6:30Speaker 5: are even as a society aware of yet. And I
- 6:32Speaker 5: don't think that anybody can really know the long-term ramifications
- 6:38Speaker 5: of what these reality shows are going to have on
- 6:39Speaker 5: these people, especially these young girls like 30.
- 6:41Speaker 2: 40 years from now. I mean, with Taylor Frankie Paul,
- 6:47Speaker 2: like juggling the three men and her friends knowing it
- 6:51Speaker 2: because she's got the one, you know, she had the
- 6:54Speaker 2: bachelor guy that we don't see. And because I'm about
- 6:58Speaker 2: three or four, maybe three episodes in there in New York.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Then we have her TikTok singing boyfriend who shows up
- 7:04Speaker 2: at the hotel to, you know, have sex with her.
- 7:08Speaker 2: And then she came home from The Bachelorette that night
- 7:12Speaker 2: and slept with her baby daddy and And in some
- 7:15Speaker 2: ways I'm like, you know, this girl could be the
- 7:18Speaker 2: luckiest chick on earth and live in her life. And
- 7:22Speaker 2: it could be, you know, a sexual addiction, a love addiction.
- 7:25Speaker 2: It's whatever it is. But you see the other girls
- 7:29Speaker 2: and some of them are just like, you know, they
- 7:32Speaker 2: don't really approve of it, you know, and they, they
- 7:35Speaker 2: are like a little, probably a little annoyed too, that
- 7:38Speaker 2: she's got, you know, three dicks to choose from. I
- 7:40Speaker 2: don't know. But like, It's kind of, you know.
- 7:43Speaker 5: I never thought of that. Maybe they could be jealous
- 7:45Speaker 5: of that. But no, look, I think watching The Mormon Wives,
- 7:51Speaker 5: I empathize so much with Taylor because I know how
- 7:53Speaker 5: much pressure she's under to be the kind of star
- 7:58Speaker 5: of that show. But at the same time, I have
- 8:01Speaker 5: so much empathy for the other girls who are kind
- 8:03Speaker 5: of watching her spiral. And it's hard to watch because
- 8:07Speaker 5: they clearly care about her and actually... do show up
- 8:11Speaker 5: for her and like love her and she you know
- 8:15Speaker 5: in her when she's caught up in all of it
- 8:17Speaker 5: she doesn't see it and then there'll be moments of
- 8:18Speaker 5: clarity like she'll come down you know Taylor will come
- 8:22Speaker 5: down and be like look I know I overreacted I'm
- 8:23Speaker 5: sorry and that's like the real her that they like
- 8:27Speaker 5: and they connect with I think but I think the
- 8:30Speaker 5: show has become so amplified like and with the domestic
- 8:35Speaker 5: violence and all of her personal things being so so
- 8:38Speaker 5: under a microscope like I think what we're seeing here
- 8:42Speaker 5: with Taylor, Frankie Paul is a spiral. Like, just, like,
- 8:46Speaker 5: she's like, enough. You know, like, she needs a break.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 8:49Speaker 5: The woman needs a break.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Where did we end up? Because it was so confusing
- 8:52Speaker 2: about all the people leaving and then the... Is the
- 8:55Speaker 2: show coming back to film for a sixth season? We
- 8:58Speaker 2: don't know and we don't know who's the cast.
- 9:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, the show is, I think, picked up
- 9:03Speaker 5: for a sixth season. But we know Michaela announced her
- 9:06Speaker 5: departure soon after the fifth season came out citing... you know,
- 9:10Speaker 5: Taylor being her reason. And then Taylor, a few days later,
- 9:15Speaker 5: announced that she was leaving the show.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:18Speaker 5: Which was kind of, seemed like it was reactionary maybe
- 9:21Speaker 5: to Michaela's thing. And then she was feuding with both
- 9:25Speaker 5: Miranda and with Layla online. They both said like, don't
- 9:29Speaker 5: wait up for our call.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 9:32Speaker 5: So you can see that they're clearly kind of like,
- 9:35Speaker 5: they're kind of over it, you know?
- 9:36Speaker 2: One of the things I saw someone bring up on
- 9:39Speaker 2: social media, which I thought was interesting is, and I
- 9:42Speaker 2: don't know if this is true, but like, you know,
- 9:45Speaker 2: I remember the Bravo women, the housewife women could get
- 9:50Speaker 2: fined if they were fighting online, or I don't know
- 9:56Speaker 2: how they would judge if someone broke a social media rule.
- 10:03Speaker 2: When you look at this, it's all social media. It
- 10:08Speaker 2: flows in and out. It's different. They talk about the show.
- 10:10Speaker 2: They say the guys just want to be on the
- 10:13Speaker 2: show and they all they care about is that, you know,
- 10:16Speaker 2: and we're the stars get away guys. And they talk
- 10:18Speaker 2: about the show like that. But what was the deal when,
- 10:21Speaker 2: in your Bravo days about what were the rules for
- 10:24Speaker 2: the social media for the housewives?
- 10:26Speaker 5: Well, there's definitely rules of like, you can't talk current story,
- 10:30Speaker 5: you know? Um, so if like, you know, you're getting
- 10:33Speaker 5: into an argument with somebody or you're having beef with somebody,
- 10:35Speaker 5: you can't go home. You're not supposed to go home
- 10:38Speaker 5: and like fire off on Twitter or, Got it. About
- 10:41Speaker 5: the current storyline. I mean, as we've seen, that's happened
- 10:44Speaker 5: many times. But, and then they'll get reprimanded for that.
- 10:49Speaker 5: And then, because, you know, they'll be like, look, this
- 10:51Speaker 5: hurts the show. At the end of the day, when
- 10:53Speaker 5: you're talking about, when you're revealing so much of the
- 10:56Speaker 5: story of the season and it comes out beforehand, by
- 10:59Speaker 5: the time the season comes around, like nobody cares about
- 11:00Speaker 5: the show.
- 11:01Speaker 2: So, right. Like, so like if a housewife gets in
- 11:03Speaker 2: a fight with someone and then goes on Twitter that
- 11:06Speaker 2: night while you guys are mid-filming and was like, you know,
- 11:09Speaker 2: Sutton's a bitch and, you know, you're dead to me, girl,
- 11:13Speaker 2: or something.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Then everyone's like, what? Jennifer Tilly said, what? That's so
- 11:18Speaker 2: unlike her.
- 11:18Speaker 5: As is, yeah.
- 11:19Speaker 2: But like, something like that. And you're like, what? They're
- 11:21Speaker 2: the closest ones, you know? And I always wondered if, Well, look,
- 11:26Speaker 2: it's a balance.
- 11:27Speaker 5: A little bit is good.
- 11:28Speaker 2: A little bit gets you excited. A little bit is good.
- 11:30Speaker 5: It's a tease. It gets you going. But too much
- 11:32Speaker 5: is too much.
- 11:33Speaker 2: That's why I always thought it was interesting when I
- 11:35Speaker 2: would hear from a housewife who really did get fined, $ 500, $ 1, 500, whatever,
- 11:40Speaker 2: and then another one wouldn't. And I'm like, well, I
- 11:42Speaker 2: just don't think it's like black and white and probably
- 11:45Speaker 2: someone who has more power won't get fined and someone
- 11:48Speaker 2: that needs to stay in line.
- 11:49Speaker 5: Someone that has more favor.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:51Speaker 5: You know, is more well-liked by the network.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:54Speaker 5: May not be. But if there's someone they want to
- 11:56Speaker 5: keep in line, somebody probably like a Whitney Wild Rose
- 12:01Speaker 5: or something, someone that's unpredictable, saying kind of crazy things,
- 12:04Speaker 5: I'm sure that they've reprimanded her for something like that.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:08Speaker 5: But real quick on Taylor, though. Taylor, Frankie, Paul, I
- 12:11Speaker 5: think what we're seeing, like I said, is a spiral
- 12:15Speaker 5: that is a result of the fame. Definitely, yeah. And
- 12:19Speaker 5: so it's kind of crazy that we have documented the
- 12:22Speaker 5: entire journey of her I mean, remember, I mean, that
- 12:25Speaker 5: body cam footage of her arrest. Okay, first of all,
- 12:28Speaker 5: and I said this on my podcast, but there was
- 12:30Speaker 5: a moment where Mikayla was like, I don't know when
- 12:32Speaker 5: our show turned from Cute Little Mormon Wives to Jerry
- 12:36Speaker 5: Springer on the Street. I was like, honey, did you
- 12:37Speaker 5: see the episode with the body cam footage that pulls up?
- 12:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's how they started the first episode.
- 12:44Speaker 5: Of like season two?
- 12:45Speaker 2: No, of the very first part of the show. Is
- 12:47Speaker 2: it the very first episode? Yes, I think it is.
- 12:49Speaker 5: I thought it was too, but then I went back
- 12:51Speaker 5: and watched it and I didn't think it was there.
- 12:53Speaker 5: But I don't know. Whenever it was, it was early.
- 12:55Speaker 5: But yeah, the show has always been kind of about that.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:00Speaker 5: That kind of was funny to hear Michaela say that.
- 13:01Speaker 5: But I also do understand what she means, though, of like,
- 13:06Speaker 5: you know, of being frustrated with Taylor and wanting to
- 13:09Speaker 5: work it through and how like the other girls are
- 13:12Speaker 5: all I think they're all really compelling, too. You know, obviously,
- 13:15Speaker 5: Taylor Frankie Paul is a star. Obviously, Whitney is a star.
- 13:20Speaker 5: Whitney is also leaving the show. But I think that
- 13:23Speaker 5: there is potential for like a Macy, you know, to
- 13:27Speaker 5: emerge as a leader in the group. I think they
- 13:30Speaker 5: need to give the other girls a chance to build
- 13:33Speaker 5: some stronger presence on the show. And I think they
- 13:37Speaker 5: could do that by giving Taylor a season off. We
- 13:40Speaker 5: don't have to depart ways. She's leaving the show. Just
- 13:43Speaker 5: give her a season off. And that means no filming,
- 13:45Speaker 5: no confessionals, no opening titles, no nothing. Give her time
- 13:49Speaker 5: off to really heal. Let the other girls build their presence.
- 13:52Speaker 5: They become stronger. Throw a couple new girls in the mix.
- 13:55Speaker 5: And then the following season, bring Taylor back. We have
- 13:57Speaker 5: a big, the return of Taylor Frankie Paul. And it's
- 14:00Speaker 5: a big, big exciting moment. And she can be rested.
- 14:03Speaker 2: But now, so let's say if you were working on
- 14:05Speaker 2: that show.
- 14:06Speaker 5: That's what I would do.
- 14:07Speaker 2: I totally agree. But I think the only way that
- 14:10Speaker 2: it would work and for her to truly get better
- 14:13Speaker 2: is she would also have to put away the phone.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Put away the phone. And that's the thing like, Would
- 14:20Speaker 2: there be enough money?
- 14:21Speaker 5: Like, I mean, if I was- She's got enough money
- 14:24Speaker 5: to take a year off.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah. But also if I was the producers of it,
- 14:28Speaker 2: I would be like, could we give her a chunk
- 14:32Speaker 2: to like, unconventional thing, but like, here's $ 500, 000. You're not
- 14:37Speaker 2: going to do this season. You're going to get mental help.
- 14:41Speaker 2: You're going to- What a dream. You're not going to
- 14:43Speaker 2: be on social media. And if you follow all that,
- 14:46Speaker 2: then you can come back the next year. Or whatever.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I would try to work some type of deal like that.
- 14:54Speaker 5: That warms my heart to hear that. Seriously, that would
- 14:58Speaker 5: be so lovely of them to do that. And would
- 15:00Speaker 5: really send the message that, hey, we care about our talent.
- 15:04Speaker 5: This girl has built this titan of a franchise for us.
- 15:10Speaker 5: We're going to show the world that we really care
- 15:13Speaker 5: about her. And we're going to, yes, pay her. Let's
- 15:16Speaker 5: pay her, but give her the time off. So she
- 15:19Speaker 5: truly takes it, you know? I think that would be
- 15:21Speaker 5: an incredible gesture.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I guess the other thing would be that when she's
- 15:24Speaker 2: off of it for a year, she's so healthy that
- 15:25Speaker 2: she's like, no, I don't want to be on reality
- 15:27Speaker 2: TV anymore.
- 15:27Speaker 4: And they're like, what?
- 15:28Speaker 5: I'm healed.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I'm healed and I definitely don't want to get on
- 15:31Speaker 2: the show again because that's what makes me go crazy.
- 15:34Speaker 5: You know what's so funny that you mentioned that though?
- 15:36Speaker 5: So like the housewives that like I always like really
- 15:38Speaker 5: like loved deeply, deeply, deeply cared for and grew to
- 15:43Speaker 5: like love as a friend, you know? I would always
- 15:45Speaker 5: be like secretly– hoping they would leave the show because
- 15:49Speaker 5: I would be like, go live your life. Go be happy. Yeah.
- 15:52Speaker 5: Go be happy and be at peace because you're never
- 15:54Speaker 5: going to find peace here. You know, you are never
- 15:57Speaker 5: going to find, you just, you need to know that
- 15:58Speaker 5: going into those shows, you need to like, you need
- 16:01Speaker 5: to have a solid marriage unless you like, don't care
- 16:03Speaker 5: about your marriage and you're fine with it dissipating. Like
- 16:05Speaker 5: someone like, I feel like kind of Tamara was her
- 16:07Speaker 5: first marriage. Yeah. Fine with that ending. Uh, but like go, uh,
- 16:12Speaker 5: Get healthy. Be healthy and like be clear minded because
- 16:18Speaker 5: it's hard and it will be a complete strain on
- 16:23Speaker 5: your life. You know what I mean? And you will
- 16:25Speaker 5: not find true peace in this world. You just can't.
- 16:29Speaker 2: When they like dump like a, you know, a one

- 16:34Speaker 2: I'm always like, actually, they should be so flattered because
- 16:37Speaker 2: it means that you're kind of boring because you probably
- 16:40Speaker 2: are like mentally healthy and it just kind of isn't. But,
- 16:43Speaker 2: you know, that's what everyone gets so upset about if
- 16:45Speaker 2: they get called boring. Sometimes being like a little chill

- 20:23Speaker 2: So I want to touch on this because this was
- 20:25Speaker 2: breaking news over the weekend. So Melania is Teresa Giudice
- 20:30Speaker 2: from Real Housewives of New Jersey's daughter. And there was
- 20:34Speaker 2: this quick video that she posted, Melania, who's 20 and
- 20:37Speaker 2: goes to college. where it was her mom, she's filming
- 20:42Speaker 2: her mom and her sister Gia. And she's like, is
- 20:45Speaker 2: that what we're going to do now? Is that what
- 20:47Speaker 2: we're doing now? Okay, so we're doing this now. And
- 20:48Speaker 2: you see like cops, and it looks like they're in
- 20:50Speaker 2: an airport. And she put it on her, posted it,
- 20:54Speaker 2: and then shortly deleted it. But of course, people caught it.
- 20:58Speaker 2: And everyone was sort of speculating, what is this? Is she,
- 21:01Speaker 2: is she, are police arresting her? Is she going to
- 21:04Speaker 2: a rehab? What happened? Now it's come out that they
- 21:09Speaker 2: were at an airport and she like went missing or
- 21:12Speaker 2: something and they were worried about her. So they called
- 21:14Speaker 2: the police and they just wanted to get her on
- 21:18Speaker 2: the plane to go home to New Jersey. And now
- 21:21Speaker 2: this body cam footage has come out and you see
- 21:25Speaker 2: Melania being like, what? I was laced with fentanyl. So
- 21:29Speaker 2: she's like, there was fentanyl in your– There were fentanyl
- 21:33Speaker 2: in you, Teresa says to Melania, and I'm trying to
- 21:36Speaker 2: save your life. And she's like, yeah, because I was laced.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't think I know people that are like,
- 21:42Speaker 2: I was laced with fentanyl. Like, usually you're slumped over
- 21:45Speaker 2: or dead. Like, it was very weird. I don't know
- 21:48Speaker 2: what's going on there.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I had no idea. I literally just read the
- 21:52Speaker 5: fentanyl thing as I'm sitting here. I did not know
- 21:54Speaker 5: that part. I had seen the initial video of them
- 21:57Speaker 5: at the airport.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Of that, the first one you said. And it was just,
- 22:02Speaker 5: it was confusing because it was her saying, is this
- 22:04Speaker 5: what we're doing now? And then Teresa's just like, I
- 22:06Speaker 5: love you. I love you. Clearly Teresa was trying to
- 22:10Speaker 5: like maintain composure in the video. Like her daughter is
- 22:12Speaker 5: in distress. She's like, I love you. I don't know
- 22:17Speaker 5: what you're doing. Clearly you're trying to provoke. She was
- 22:20Speaker 5: trying to provoke them. It felt like.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Right.
- 22:22Speaker 2: And then Melania is like, that's what my mom wants.
- 22:24Speaker 2: You wanted a scene, mom. Get over here, mom. Run.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Run.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Like she was being really awful. And Teresa's being really calm.
- 22:33Speaker 5: Yeah, she was being really calm.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And it's, I don't know, like she's, there is thoughts
- 22:42Speaker 2: or whatever that maybe she tried to hurt herself. Maybe
- 22:44Speaker 2: she did like some type of 5150. I don't know
- 22:47Speaker 2: for a few days. Maybe she's back now in college
- 22:50Speaker 2: doing fine. I don't know what's going on. But I
- 22:53Speaker 2: do know, I believe they're filming right now for New Jersey.
- 22:56Speaker 5: I think they finished, didn't they?
- 22:59Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know. I think they finished. Maybe they finished.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Would any of this be addressed? But, you know, when
- 23:05Speaker 2: you think about it, you know, these kids don't have
- 23:09Speaker 2: a right to any of it. They put these mics
- 23:13Speaker 2: on them when they're little and the camera's in their
- 23:16Speaker 2: face and Everyone thought it was so funny that Melania
- 23:20Speaker 2: would talk to Joe Giudice and be like, give me
- 23:22Speaker 2: my pizza, you old troll. And they just were like, Melania! Like,
- 23:25Speaker 2: she was just so crazy. And then Gia was like,
- 23:28Speaker 2: you know, such a perfect little firstborn Italian daughter. Like,
- 23:32Speaker 2: you know, second mother to the girls, taking over control.
- 23:36Speaker 5: And.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I don't know. Like, have you ever worked on a
- 23:39Speaker 2: show where the kids like didn't want to be on
- 23:43Speaker 2: it and their parent or somebody was like, we really
- 23:46Speaker 2: need to we really need to film this. So, like,
- 23:49Speaker 2: figure it out. Well, I mean, with some candy, I
- 23:51Speaker 2: don't know.
- 23:52Speaker 5: I can't think of something specifically for kids. But I mean,
- 23:55Speaker 5: there were many times where I mean, kids do not
- 23:58Speaker 5: like filming. You know, they're like, it's boring, you know,
- 24:01Speaker 5: because you're you're kids just want to play and like
- 24:03Speaker 5: live their life. So the weird hurdle when you're filming
- 24:07Speaker 5: with kids usually is to like get them to not
- 24:10Speaker 5: be like looking at and be interested by like the
- 24:13Speaker 5: cameras and the equipment and the crew. Because usually they're
- 24:17Speaker 5: all like– because this is abnormal for the– you know,
- 24:19Speaker 5: like– Right. Or if they're new or something, they get
- 24:22Speaker 5: used to it. But like, you know, you go into
- 24:24Speaker 5: a new housewife's family and you start shooting with them
- 24:27Speaker 5: and the kids are like– the whole time they're just
- 24:29Speaker 5: like looking right into the camera.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 24:31Speaker 5: What are you doing? What's your name? And they're like–
- 24:34Speaker 5: it's Patrick. Just hop back in there and talk to
- 24:37Speaker 5: your mom, you know? But, um, but yeah, so it's
- 24:40Speaker 5: funny to see them try to figure it out. Um, yeah, look, it's, uh, it's,
- 24:45Speaker 5: you're right. They don't, they don't sign up for it.
- 24:47Speaker 5: You know, they're just kind of going along with whatever
- 24:49Speaker 5: their parents are doing. And, um, I think as they
- 24:53Speaker 5: get older and then you start to see like some
- 24:55Speaker 5: of them like it and are drawn to the camera
- 24:57Speaker 5: and some of them don't and retreat from it, you know?
- 25:00Speaker 6: Right.
- 25:00Speaker 5: So it's just a case-by-case kind of basis.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Like with the Next Gen. Yeah. There was a thing
- 25:05Speaker 2: I just saw that they're doing Next Gen LA with
- 25:08Speaker 2: Heather Dubrow's son and Camille Grammer's daughter, Kyle's daughter.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Kyle's daughter, yeah, is on it.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Somebody else.
- 25:16Speaker 5: Like Leah Remini's daughter or something.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 25:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:19Speaker 5: I think so.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Oh, that's kind of interesting.
- 25:20Speaker 5: I think she's not one of them.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Really? Leah Remini's daughter?
- 25:24Speaker 5: I think her daughter or son or something.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Well, because Leah Remini just joined Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I swear I thought I heard that. She might. Her
- 25:30Speaker 2: daughter could be that age now. But I always wonder, like,
- 25:36Speaker 2: were there ever times where someone's like, oh, my God,
- 25:38Speaker 2: just they're coming over. We have to get this scene done.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Just we're going to have the talk about how you
- 25:44Speaker 2: got a speeding ticket. And as long as we knock
- 25:47Speaker 2: it out, like, let's just get it and then I'll
- 25:49Speaker 2: give you a hundred bucks and you can go and
- 25:51Speaker 2: go bowling with your friends. Like, I wonder if there's
- 25:54Speaker 2: ever been moments like that, that you might not be
- 25:56Speaker 2: aware of, but parents probably have to do.
- 25:59Speaker 5: I am sure there has been a bribe or two
- 26:01Speaker 5: to come film a scene that's happened.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:05Speaker 5: Absolutely. I mean, come on, look at our players here.
- 26:09Speaker 5: You got the housewives, you know? If a housewife will
- 26:12Speaker 5: pay a boyfriend to come play their boyfriend for a season,
- 26:15Speaker 5: I think they'll pay their kid, you know, 20 bucks
- 26:18Speaker 5: to say something nice on camera, you know.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Let's bring us to our next subject that I had
- 26:23Speaker 2: on my notes for Mr. Patrick McDonald is the history
- 26:29Speaker 2: of some housewives previously. being accused or caught or denying it, whatever,
- 26:35Speaker 2: of hiring a love interest that might not truly be real.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Because they want to look like they got a man.
- 26:44Speaker 2: They want to have something else to talk about this season.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Right now, Heather Gay on Real Housewives of Salt Lake
- 26:51Speaker 2: City says she's in love. She's got a boyfriend. And
- 26:55Speaker 2: some people think it's not real. But then other people
- 26:58Speaker 2: are like, it's probably real. He's just a player. So
- 27:01Speaker 2: I'm like, that's not that, of course he's a player. Like,
- 27:04Speaker 2: I mean, you know, when you get past a certain
- 27:06Speaker 2: age and you meet someone, like everyone's got a history.
- 27:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:10Speaker 2: And there's going to be ex-girlfriends and ex-wives.
- 27:12Speaker 5: They're just saying because he's got like a history of.
- 27:16Speaker 5: dating other people?
- 27:17Speaker 2: That and just that they wondered if it was even real. Like,
- 27:20Speaker 2: if this was even a real relationship or did she
- 27:23Speaker 2: know him from before and they dated before and she
- 27:25Speaker 2: was like, just come on the show.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:27Speaker 2: And we'll film some scenes.
- 27:28Speaker 5: I don't know, but it still bugs me about, Heather
- 27:31Speaker 5: does this thing with her kids all the time with,
- 27:34Speaker 5: every time she's talking to them, she's like, they're making
- 27:36Speaker 5: brownies and she's like, Oh, these aren't like the drug
- 27:39Speaker 5: brownies you make at school or like, oh, like, oh,
- 27:41Speaker 5: what are you doing this weekend? Well, I'm having some
- 27:43Speaker 5: sex with my boyfriend. Like, you know what I mean? Like,
- 27:46Speaker 5: it's like, Jesus Christ, mom. What are you like? OK, well,
- 27:49Speaker 5: I'm going on a walk with my friend, you know,
- 27:51Speaker 5: like it's just have you not noticed that?
- 27:54Speaker 2: So that's self-produced. That's planning it out.
- 27:57Speaker 5: That's.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Coming up with lines before.
- 27:59Speaker 5: Her trying to be a cool mom. It's very like
- 28:02Speaker 5: Amy Poehler in Mean Girls, like being the cool mom,
- 28:05Speaker 5: you know?
- 28:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 28:06Speaker 5: And it's just so like on the nose. You're right.
- 28:09Speaker 2: It's so on the nose.
- 28:09Speaker 5: That's really interesting. I just wish, Heather is like really
- 28:13Speaker 5: turned into this, like a caricature of herself and of
- 28:18Speaker 5: a housewife, you know? And you see it at the
- 28:20Speaker 5: girls trip when she was like kind of like so drunk,
- 28:23Speaker 5: kind of fawning and fangirling over everyone. And like, I
- 28:28Speaker 5: don't know, she's just, and now in her individual scenes,
- 28:31Speaker 5: it's just, she's trying to be the cool mom. She's
- 28:34Speaker 5: trying to do this. And it's, it's, it's like, Heather
- 28:37Speaker 5: just feels so performative where like at the beginning, I
- 28:41Speaker 5: think what makes Salt Lake so great is because it
- 28:43Speaker 5: felt so real and felt so raw and like different.
- 28:46Speaker 5: And these women are, these women were different from any
- 28:48Speaker 5: of the other women we've ever seen on Housewives. And
- 28:50Speaker 5: they've got like this religious trauma aspect and, and religious
- 28:54Speaker 5: shame that they were all grown, like kind of, raised
- 28:57Speaker 5: with and how that shows up in their adult lives
- 29:01Speaker 5: um so but i don't know it's just heather specifically
- 29:05Speaker 5: i feel like has really just become one of those
- 29:08Speaker 5: housewives that's like become a caricature of a housewife yeah
- 29:12Speaker 5: and i think that once that happens it's like it's
- 29:15Speaker 5: time to tap out you know because it doesn't it
- 29:17Speaker 5: becomes so much less interesting yeah if something feels scripted
- 29:21Speaker 5: and produced like great look i'll give it to her
- 29:23Speaker 5: the receipts proof timeline screenshots That was an iconic moment
- 29:26Speaker 5: that landed and it hit.
- 29:28Speaker 2: But I also think that's what changed her.
- 29:30Speaker 5: And then she's been trying to chase that high ever since.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Like I have my flipping table moment.
- 29:36Speaker 5: Right.
- 29:37Speaker 2: And you know, only a handful of housewives have those
- 29:40Speaker 2: moments that really, like, kind of catapult them. And I
- 29:44Speaker 2: think she thought that she was at that level with
- 29:46Speaker 2: the receipts timeline and was like, I'm a really big deal. Yeah.
- 29:51Speaker 2: You know, which is fine. Like, you are. You're on
- 29:53Speaker 2: a show. You had a spinoff thing about your documentary.
- 29:57Speaker 2: You've written some books. Like, good for you. Like, your
- 30:00Speaker 2: beauty lab was there. You have a second one. Like,
- 30:03Speaker 2: all of that is true. It's successful.
- 30:06Speaker 5: Yeah, she is successful. It's just like, calm down and
- 30:08Speaker 5: just be chill.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's kind of hard to like, yeah,
- 30:12Speaker 2: how to navigate that. Is that, you know, in your experience,
- 30:15Speaker 2: is it weird when you see such a dramatic change?
- 30:18Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. Oh yeah. It's wild. It's wild when you
- 30:22Speaker 5: see like a first season housewife come in and then
- 30:25Speaker 5: you see them by like, like coming into season three,
- 30:28Speaker 5: like their third season or something. Just how much changes physically,
- 30:34Speaker 5: how much changes just like in the way that they
- 30:36Speaker 5: move within the group, how much changes within the way
- 30:40Speaker 5: they move in public. It's, it's fascinating, you know? And,
- 30:44Speaker 5: and it's, it's like, it's yeah, it's like in a,
- 30:49Speaker 5: watching this, like, I don't know, this, the rise of
- 30:53Speaker 5: a Phoenix or something like, you know, or like a
- 30:56Speaker 5: Pokemon evolving into like its top form, you know? Right.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I mean, I can see why that would be, you know,
- 31:02Speaker 2: I've talked about a lot on the show of like
- 31:04Speaker 2: how that would be when you never really were an actor,
- 31:08Speaker 2: you never really were on stage. And then all of
- 31:10Speaker 2: a sudden there's people, you know, with a heavy camera
- 31:13Speaker 2: on their shoulder in the heat, hanging on your every word.
- 31:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 31:18Speaker 2: And, you know, because I used to be like, whenever
- 31:22Speaker 2: I was filming anything and it was somewhat improvisational, I
- 31:26Speaker 2: would be like, oh my God, let me give all
- 31:28Speaker 2: the funny, let's get like, I don't want to waste,
- 31:30Speaker 2: I don't want this guy being bored and I don't
- 31:32Speaker 2: want his time being wasted. So it's like, as a comedian, like,
- 31:35Speaker 2: that's what I would think. And so I'm like, what
- 31:36Speaker 2: with them, you know, I do think sometimes it's boring,
- 31:40Speaker 2: but then other times I want to know, like, when
- 31:42Speaker 2: do you guys as a producer decide, like, Yeah, we
- 31:45Speaker 2: can wrap it up here. We got it. How do
- 31:47Speaker 2: you know when you got it, when you don't?
- 31:49Speaker 5: Okay, well, that's the thing. So, you know, when you
- 31:52Speaker 5: go to a scene, like usually, okay, there's usually, there's
- 31:56Speaker 5: at least two crews on every Housewives show. Some shows
- 32:00Speaker 5: have three, depending on the budget. So like a Beverly
- 32:02Speaker 5: Hills is a three crew show. Vanderpump Rules is a
- 32:05Speaker 5: three crew show.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Meaning one whole crew just stays together?
- 32:08Speaker 5: So there's like A crew, B crew, C crew.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Okay.
- 32:10Speaker 5: And on that crew, on each crew, there is a producer.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Okay.
- 32:14Speaker 5: Like a field producer, the head producer, the lead of
- 32:17Speaker 5: the team. So there's that producer. Then there's like a
- 32:19Speaker 5: segment producer who's like booking locations and who's kind of
- 32:23Speaker 5: dealing with like the venues. They're going to like go
- 32:26Speaker 5: find the manager of the restaurant and be like, hey,
- 32:28Speaker 5: they're going to be your point of contact. Because like
- 32:30Speaker 5: what I would be doing is be like kind of
- 32:33Speaker 5: I would talk to the manager, but they would manage them,
- 32:35Speaker 5: you know? And so they're dealing with the location. Then
- 32:38Speaker 5: you have like an associate producer, right? And that person's
- 32:40Speaker 5: taking notes, logging the scene and all that. And then
- 32:44Speaker 5: you have the crew, which is two cameramen, one audio
- 32:49Speaker 5: mixer or audio supervisor.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Sound guy, yeah.
- 32:52Speaker 5: You have an AC, which is the assistant camera person
- 32:54Speaker 5: who's helping like the cameras and like, you know, just
- 32:58Speaker 5: kind of helping out. And then like a PA, right?
- 33:01Speaker 5: So there's like seven to eight people on your crew.
- 33:04Speaker 2: And so, um, when do you know, like we can
- 33:07Speaker 2: wrap it up here.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 33:08Speaker 5: Okay. So you got your crew, right. And you get
- 33:10Speaker 5: to a scene and like your day is scheduled. You
- 33:13Speaker 5: usually have two scenes, you know, if it's a regular day.
- 33:16Speaker 5: So you'll have a scene in the morning and a
- 33:17Speaker 5: scene in the afternoon or like scene in the evening, whatever. And, um,
- 33:21Speaker 5: those scenes are usually scheduled for like about three hours of,
- 33:25Speaker 5: of shooting. Okay. Um, for a normal, regular scene. Now,
- 33:31Speaker 5: you don't always need that, you know? So some people, well,
- 33:36Speaker 5: some showrunners are like, you got to shoot the whole
- 33:37Speaker 5: three hours, like shoot the whole time. Some are like,
- 33:42Speaker 5: we'll give you more personal, you know, judgment of like,
- 33:44Speaker 5: if you get the scene, if you got it, you
- 33:45Speaker 5: got it. You know, I was like a personal, like
- 33:48Speaker 5: I did not overshoot. Like if I got the scene,
- 33:50Speaker 5: like we're wrapping up, let's get out of here.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:52Speaker 5: You know, but I know, I would know what the
- 33:54Speaker 5: scene was and I know if we got it or not.
- 33:56Speaker 5: There would be times when you're like an hour and
- 33:58Speaker 5: a half in, you're like, I'd be like, OK. I'd
- 34:01Speaker 5: walk in and be like, OK, ladies, we're an hour
- 34:03Speaker 5: and a half in here and we have not gotten anywhere.
- 34:07Speaker 5: The main meat of this before we leave here is
- 34:08Speaker 5: we need to set up your party this weekend. Are
- 34:12Speaker 5: you going to invite Teddy? Are you going to make
- 34:15Speaker 5: up with Erica before the party? And for you, what's
- 34:19Speaker 5: going on with you and Sutton? Are you guys moving forward?
- 34:22Speaker 5: Have you like we haven't gotten anything there. So we
- 34:24Speaker 5: have about 30 more minutes here. I need us to
- 34:27Speaker 5: get to this, you know. And so let's like get
- 34:29Speaker 5: to it, you know? And so then you'll come in
- 34:30Speaker 5: and you'll kind of rein it in because sometimes they
- 34:33Speaker 5: can go off the reins, you know, and you let
- 34:36Speaker 5: that happen for a little bit because you get good
- 34:38Speaker 5: stuff there. You know, sometimes if they're just randomly talking,
- 34:41Speaker 5: sometimes it's boring as hell and you're like, okay, I'm
- 34:44Speaker 5: falling asleep. Please let's get back on topic here.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:47Speaker 5: So yeah, you step in all the time. And then,
- 34:50Speaker 5: so it's just up to the producer's discretion. And then
- 34:54Speaker 5: sometimes it's just, you have a two hour window to
- 34:56Speaker 5: film here. That's the only availability. And so you gotta be,
- 34:58Speaker 5: you gotta get what you can get.
- 34:59Speaker 2: One of the things I've always wondered is why do
- 35:03Speaker 2: I have to hear what everybody ordered? Like, why do
- 35:06Speaker 2: we have to?
- 35:07Speaker 5: That is a, such a weird Bravo thing that they like,
- 35:09Speaker 5: it's a must have. It's a must have every time
- 35:12Speaker 5: someone orders, like you must include that in the footage.
- 35:16Speaker 5: Like you, you must shoot that.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Someone brought up like, does the Real Housewives of OC
- 35:23Speaker 2: have like a deal with like, 100% beef or something because,
- 35:28Speaker 2: and I've noticed that too, that every, lately, all the
- 35:31Speaker 2: girls are ordering like steak and fries or hamburger and fries. Like,
- 35:37Speaker 2: and they all, that and Diet Coke. And I guess
- 35:39Speaker 2: it's just about the protein when you're on the shot.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I don't know what it is, but I'm just like, oh, wow.
- 35:44Speaker 5: Like.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:46Speaker 5: I don't know. I haven't noticed.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Yeah. And then I would think.
- 35:48Speaker 5: Especially with the, with the beef crisis going on. It's
- 35:51Speaker 5: a weird time to be ordering beef.
- 35:53Speaker 2: But I also think like, um, I mean, I love
- 35:57Speaker 2: to go to restaurants and eat, especially when I'm not
- 36:00Speaker 2: paying because you're filming, right? And I just think like
- 36:04Speaker 2: it would be hard to resist not to eat the
- 36:07Speaker 2: whole time if I would go hungry.
- 36:10Speaker 4: But I mean– would abuse the meals.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Comp deal, the comp meal.
- 36:21Speaker 5: People started ordering at the end of the meal.
- 36:23Speaker 2: To go.
- 36:24Speaker 5: Can I get this, this, and this to go? Like
- 36:26Speaker 5: three more meals to go. And they would like take
- 36:28Speaker 5: it home to their kids. I won't say who did that,
- 36:31Speaker 5: but they got reprimanded and they were like, you cannot
- 36:34Speaker 5: do this. And then they started putting a cap on
- 36:37Speaker 5: dinners because they're like, yo, y'all are getting crazy for
- 36:41Speaker 5: this lunch. And then like bring home food for your family.
- 36:44Speaker 2: So what would be the cap? Like, okay.
- 36:47Speaker 5: It would depend on where you are. $ 200 or whatever. For,
- 36:50Speaker 5: I think in Atlanta it was like $ 250.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Okay.
- 36:53Speaker 5: On like a lunch or dinner meal.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Right.
- 36:57Speaker 5: If it's like a two-person scene. Right. Obviously a bigger
- 37:03Speaker 5: meal is different. Yeah. And they would be a little
- 37:06Speaker 5: more loosey-goosey on the all-cast kind of things. But like
- 37:09Speaker 5: for a two-person meal scene. There, there, there's definitely like
- 37:13Speaker 5: a limit. And then there was, what's also still fucked
- 37:16Speaker 5: up is that they would like be like tip limits.
- 37:18Speaker 5: They wouldn't like let them tip too much. Right. You
- 37:22Speaker 5: know what I mean? The PA. So the PAs, I
- 37:24Speaker 5: would be like, dude, we're doing all this. Like you
- 37:27Speaker 5: need to tip. We got to tip well.
- 37:28Speaker 3: Right.
- 37:28Speaker 5: You know what I mean? But they would be, they
- 37:31Speaker 5: would always be trying to skimp on the tips. I
- 37:33Speaker 5: was like, you guys, we got to, you got to
- 37:35Speaker 5: tip good for. These places that we're going, you know.
- 37:38Speaker 2: And then is it ever a problem?
- 37:39Speaker 5: Because it also, like, looks bad for, because, like, the
- 37:41Speaker 5: housewives aren't paying, you know what I mean?
- 37:43Speaker 2: Right.
- 37:43Speaker 5: But, like, the servers, I mean, they don't necessarily know
- 37:45Speaker 5: that because I would, what I would do is a
- 37:48Speaker 5: lot of times I would slip a housewife a P-card. Yeah.
- 37:51Speaker 5: I'd be like, who's paying, ladies? Yeah. And they'd be like, oh,
- 37:54Speaker 5: and then be like, oh, you know, Marlo's paying. You
- 37:58Speaker 5: give Marlo the card. Or, oh, like, Candy's paying. You
- 38:00Speaker 5: give Candy the P-card, you know. And so they would
- 38:02Speaker 5: throw it down. you know, and then like, okay.
- 38:06Speaker 2: So when they're at a restaurant and there's real people
- 38:09Speaker 2: that are eating there that did not know that there
- 38:12Speaker 2: was going to be a filming that day. And let's
- 38:14Speaker 2: say they're fans and they're kind of excited. Is it
- 38:17Speaker 2: ever a problem? Like, do they ever try to come
- 38:19Speaker 2: up to them or, and how do you handle all that?
- 38:22Speaker 5: You got to have like, well, you got to have
- 38:24Speaker 5: a PA. You have people kind of guarding the, like
- 38:26Speaker 5: the filming area.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:28Speaker 5: So like, They're not going to make it to the
- 38:31Speaker 5: table to be right next to them, usually. I mean,
- 38:33Speaker 5: maybe they might, but, like, you know, it depends on
- 38:35Speaker 5: the situation. So every single person in that restaurant, by
- 38:39Speaker 5: the way, has to have an appearance release. So it's
- 38:42Speaker 5: actually a lot more involved than you would think when
- 38:46Speaker 5: you're at a restaurant. So, like, a PA has to
- 38:48Speaker 5: go around to every single table and be like, hi,
- 38:51Speaker 5: if they're on camera. Yeah. And be like, if they're
- 38:54Speaker 5: even seen in the background at all. They go, hi,
- 38:56Speaker 5: you know, we're filming Real Housewives of Atlanta, you know.
- 38:59Speaker 5: do you guys mind signing your appearance release if you
- 39:01Speaker 5: might be used in the show? And usually people are
- 39:03Speaker 5: fine and they're excited to do it.
- 39:04Speaker 2: I wonder if there's everybody that's like, no, because they're
- 39:07Speaker 2: like having an affair or something.
- 39:08Speaker 5: Yeah. People say no. People will say no.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Because what if you're like not supposed to be having
- 39:12Speaker 2: dinner with someone, you know, that you should not be
- 39:14Speaker 2: seen with.
- 39:14Speaker 5: Well, that's true. Yeah. I never, I didn't think about that.
- 39:16Speaker 5: Like an affair. Yeah. I'm sure.
- 39:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:18Speaker 5: I'm sure that's happening.
- 39:19Speaker 2: And when they say no, do they, do you ask
- 39:21Speaker 2: to have them moved?
- 39:22Speaker 5: Well, yeah. So you'd be like, you'd be like, okay,
- 39:24Speaker 5: that's totally fine. We would ask, if you don't mind,
- 39:28Speaker 5: if we like just move you to a shot where you're,
- 39:30Speaker 5: if you don't want to be seen, let's move you
- 39:32Speaker 5: somewhere where you're not going to be in the shot.
- 39:33Speaker 5: Because otherwise you're going to be a real ugly blur
- 39:36Speaker 5: in my shot, you know? Right. And I don't want that.
- 39:39Speaker 5: And sometimes I would say that, you know what I mean? Yeah.
- 39:40Speaker 5: And kind of like cut up with them and they'd
- 39:42Speaker 5: be like, okay, fine. You know, it's just about, like,
- 39:44Speaker 5: people skills. And usually that's– the person usually doing that is, like,
- 39:48Speaker 5: a PA or the segment producer if they really need
- 39:50Speaker 5: to step in and someone's problematic. But then if, like,
- 39:53Speaker 5: someone's really having an issue, which has happened. Yeah. Then
- 39:57Speaker 5: I would go over there and talk to the person
- 39:59Speaker 5: and try to do some, you know, damage control or whatever.
- 40:02Speaker 5: But– and then you also have, like, unruly people who are, like,
- 40:06Speaker 5: drunk and are trying to come in to break the scene. Yeah.
- 40:10Speaker 5: Or stuff like that. And that's when you have to
- 40:11Speaker 5: get a little more, you know– Right. Like, get the
- 40:14Speaker 5: fuck out of here. Right.
- 40:17Speaker 6: Christmas shopping has already started in our house. My daughter
- 40:20Speaker 6: is so organised, already planning Christmas gifts from Macaulay. Hair
- 40:24Speaker 6: care for her aunt and a fab fragrance for her bestie.
- 40:27Speaker 2: But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
- 40:29Speaker 6: I'm an early bird, buying one present a week from
- 40:31Speaker 6: now till Christmas, which makes budgeting less stressful. I can
- 40:34Speaker 6: buy in-store or online from Macaulay.ie for home delivery or
- 40:38Speaker 6: free click and collect.
- 40:40Speaker 2: So easy.
- 40:41Speaker 6: Gifts they'll cherish at prices you'll love.
- 40:46Speaker 3: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 40:49Speaker 3: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 40:52Speaker 3: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 40:57Speaker 3: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 40:59Speaker 5: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 41:03Speaker 2: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 41:05Speaker 2: filed against me.
- 41:06Speaker 1: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 41:08Speaker 1: what would you do if it was given back?
- 41:11Speaker 3: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 41:14Speaker 3: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 41:16Speaker 5: He said, I have a work dad. I need a
- 41:18Speaker 5: home dad. What happens next? When I came in, he
- 41:20Speaker 5: started crying.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 41:25Speaker 3: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 41:28Speaker 3: happens next.
- 41:29Speaker 5: I decided to risk it all.
- 41:30Speaker 2: I realized how valuable every day was.
- 41:32Speaker 5: You're worth the work.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches. You can
- 41:36Speaker 2: use your voice even if it shakes.
- 41:38Speaker 3: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 41:53Speaker 2: So are you liking Salt Lake this season? I mean,
- 41:56Speaker 2: the first episode was very sad about Mary's son.
- 41:58Speaker 4: I love Salt Lake.
- 41:59Speaker 5: I'm so excited Salt Lake's back.
- 42:01Speaker 2: I find them all very entertaining.
- 42:04Speaker 5: Salt Lake City is the best franchise right now. I
- 42:06Speaker 5: think it has taken the reins as the strongest franchise,
- 42:10Speaker 5: for sure. And I think that that's very indicative in
- 42:14Speaker 5: the fan base, too, in the audience. Everybody's hyped about
- 42:18Speaker 5: Salt Lake. And I think they're hyped about Salt Lake
- 42:20Speaker 5: in a way that they haven't been hyped about the
- 42:22Speaker 5: other shows in a while. Because it's firing on all
- 42:25Speaker 5: cylinders and the girls are giving it.
- 42:27Speaker 2: They're funny.
- 42:28Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a lot of funny. There's a lot of humor,
- 42:31Speaker 5: which is really important in these shows.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Like when Whitney kind of did her Meredith face. When
- 42:36Speaker 2: she's like, I'm scared of Meredith and I don't want
- 42:38Speaker 2: her to be like... And she did that like, I
- 42:40Speaker 2: thought that was like very funny. You know what?
- 42:43Speaker 5: You're right. I actually... I kind of have come and
- 42:47Speaker 5: gone on Whitney. Coming into this season, I was kind
- 42:51Speaker 5: of like, I'm kind of good on Whitney, to be
- 42:52Speaker 5: honest with you. But then she said that comment about,
- 42:54Speaker 5: she was like, Meredith's face looks so good in her wig.
- 42:57Speaker 5: And they're like, I don't think she revealed the wig.
- 42:59Speaker 5: And that made me laugh. I was like, all right,
- 43:03Speaker 5: maybe she can say.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, they all have, Interesting lives. They do.
- 43:08Speaker 2: That's what's working. There isn't a dud in the bunch.
- 43:11Speaker 5: There isn't a dud in the bunch. For me, I
- 43:13Speaker 5: would say the two weakest links at this point are
- 43:18Speaker 5: Heather and Whitney, Bad Weather. But that being said, even
- 43:23Speaker 5: though they're the weakest two on this cast, I don't
- 43:27Speaker 5: think they're anywhere near weak characters as we see on
- 43:31Speaker 5: some of the other shows.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Heather, I just- What do you think was the black guy?
- 43:35Speaker 3: Jen.
- 43:36Speaker 5: Jen.
- 43:37Speaker 2: You do think it was Jen.
- 43:38Speaker 5: Of course. She said it was.
- 43:40Speaker 2: No, she didn't. I finally like got her book and
- 43:42Speaker 2: like you still just in the book said, like, I
- 43:45Speaker 2: still don't know what happened. Like I woke up with
- 43:48Speaker 2: a black, I think she got wasted and fell.
- 43:50Speaker 5: No, the book was written before that she eventually.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Said it, right?
- 43:53Speaker 5: No, the second book. Oh.
- 43:54Speaker 2: The second book, which was weird because she didn't promote it.
- 43:58Speaker 2: I like went and found the part and it still
- 44:00Speaker 2: just said, I don't, I don't know.
- 44:02Speaker 4: Who cares?
- 44:04Speaker 5: What I will say though is that she should have
- 44:06Speaker 5: been fired for that. Because when she implied that it
- 44:09Speaker 5: could have been a production member that gave her the
- 44:11Speaker 5: black eye, that was like a hard line for me.
- 44:13Speaker 5: She really lost me with that.
- 44:15Speaker 2: I thought that she, I interpreted it more as, like
- 44:18Speaker 2: when I was trying to figure out, I was like,
- 44:21Speaker 2: did she fall or something and something was unsafe in
- 44:25Speaker 2: the Airbnb that production rented? And therefore there was like
- 44:29Speaker 2: a weird thing that.
- 44:31Speaker 5: Could have happened. But she said, could it have been production?
- 44:33Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Oh, I interpreted that could have been production like, I
- 44:36Speaker 2: fell while filming or something.
- 44:38Speaker 5: I know, but you, come on, you like have worked
- 44:40Speaker 5: in television and all that stuff. Like, you know, all
- 44:44Speaker 5: the people that work their buster ass to make these
- 44:46Speaker 5: shows and you're going to jeopardize, like even, even imply
- 44:51Speaker 5: that any of those people could have been involved when
- 44:54Speaker 5: they make such like a fraction of the money you make.
- 44:57Speaker 5: They work 20 million times harder than you do.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:01Speaker 5: And, and they're like vulnerable and they're, they're working. They
- 45:04Speaker 5: need these jobs and like, I don't know. That was
- 45:07Speaker 5: so gross to me. And I don't think it was
- 45:09Speaker 5: ever truly like addressed and rectified in a way that
- 45:12Speaker 5: was satisfying to me. And if I was if I
- 45:14Speaker 5: was a producer or a crew member on on that show,
- 45:17Speaker 5: I would not fucking trust that woman. I think I
- 45:20Speaker 5: would not ever want to be alone with her. You
- 45:22Speaker 5: know what I mean? Because she could say anything, you know,
- 45:25Speaker 5: that you can't trust a person like that.
- 45:27Speaker 2: And I think that they're they they were both wasted.
- 45:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:31Speaker 2: I think she could have like fallen out of bed.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Or something happened and she just– like you have a
- 45:36Speaker 2: party wound and you're kind of like, how did I
- 45:38Speaker 2: get this big bruise on the side of my leg
- 45:40Speaker 2: or something? I think it was something like that. And
- 45:43Speaker 2: then knowing with the dramatic thing, I'm taking the glasses off.
- 45:46Speaker 2: I'm going to reveal this. And even Jen kind of
- 45:48Speaker 2: played along like, did I do this? But then Jen
- 45:50Speaker 2: was like, better not say that I did it. Like
- 45:52Speaker 2: I thought when you're talking about like kind of producing yourself,
- 45:56Speaker 2: I think that whole thing– I think she saw that
- 45:58Speaker 2: she had a black eye and was like, I'm going
- 45:59Speaker 2: to make something out of this.
- 46:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 2: And then.
- 46:02Speaker 5: Well, if she did, it made everyone just dislike her.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:06Speaker 2: I agree. I love the Lisa Barlow. I think that
- 46:09Speaker 2: they are jealous of her. They're definitely jealous of her.
- 46:13Speaker 2: And I just think she's a good time.
- 46:15Speaker 4: She is.
- 46:16Speaker 5: Look, Lisa is an incredible character. You know, she'll do
- 46:20Speaker 5: things that like piss you off. And I've said this,
- 46:22Speaker 5: like I've at the beginning, I loved Lisa. And then
- 46:27Speaker 5: somewhere along the way, she really lost me. And I
- 46:29Speaker 5: was like, God, this woman's terrible. And then the next season,
- 46:33Speaker 5: she'll win me over again. I'm like, I love her.
- 46:36Speaker 5: But that's good. Because that's somebody who's not afraid to
- 46:40Speaker 5: look bad. Right. Even though she acts like she's like,
- 46:44Speaker 5: I won't look bad. I need my glam. She's willing
- 46:48Speaker 5: to look bad. And that makes for an intriguing, interesting housewife.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Speaking of the glam. Some people that are fans of
- 46:58Speaker 2: Housewives felt like that's kind of when the show lost
- 47:02Speaker 2: its authenticity, when everybody would hire glam to go to
- 47:06Speaker 2: a barbecue.
- 47:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:08Speaker 2: And it's one thing to do glam because it's someone's–
- 47:10Speaker 2: it's the finale party and it's a gorgeous thing and
- 47:13Speaker 2: it's a black tie event. There's another where they all
- 47:16Speaker 2: do it. And I get it. It's TV. Everybody else
- 47:18Speaker 2: is doing it. And if you're not good at doing
- 47:19Speaker 2: your own makeup, you don't want to be the one
- 47:22Speaker 2: that doesn't have a contoured nose.
- 47:25Speaker 5: And you don't want to be the one that's asked
- 47:27Speaker 5: the question, did you do your own makeup?
- 47:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:32Speaker 2: So do you think that that has– I mean, in
- 47:35Speaker 2: some ways it's okay. They FaceTime each other. They have
- 47:37Speaker 2: the pins in their hair. But they have to pay
- 47:40Speaker 2: for that, right?
- 47:41Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. So the show only pays for glam on
- 47:43Speaker 5: interview days for confessionals. So when the women are doing
- 47:47Speaker 5: their confessionals, the show pays for their glam. If it's
- 47:50Speaker 5: any other thing, it's up to them. I mean, that
- 47:53Speaker 5: is a huge expense. If their glam is on trips,
- 47:56Speaker 5: they're paying for that glam to come on that trip.
- 47:58Speaker 2: Wow.
- 47:59Speaker 5: And so we're talking hotel room. We're talking– You know,
- 48:04Speaker 5: their rate, their day rate for their make for their
- 48:07Speaker 5: glam or hair or whatever. I mean, they're watching and
- 48:09Speaker 5: food while they're there.
- 48:11Speaker 2: And then with the parties that they throw. So let's
- 48:16Speaker 2: say I'm a housewife and we go through the calendar
- 48:19Speaker 2: and I go, I'm going to have a birthday party
- 48:21Speaker 2: for myself. Well, now that I'm on TV, I want
- 48:23Speaker 2: that birthday party to be super fabulous.
- 48:26Speaker 5: Right.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Because I'm supposed to be this fabulous housewife.
- 48:28Speaker 3: Right.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Maybe I can get some free liquor or a catering thing,
- 48:32Speaker 2: but then I would have to like work that myself.
- 48:34Speaker 2: And if I'm not a huge housewife star, I probably
- 48:36Speaker 2: don't have a PR team yet that can help get that.
- 48:39Speaker 2: So let's say the party really is like 15 grand.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Is that 100% out of the pocket of the housewife?
- 48:47Speaker 5: Case by case.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Oh.
- 48:48Speaker 5: Case by case. So there will be most of the time, yes.
- 48:53Speaker 5: If there's something special that they really want to slap
- 48:56Speaker 5: and make a big moment out of, the show will
- 48:59Speaker 5: be like, look, we'll put in 5K. You put in 5K.
- 49:03Speaker 5: We'll put in 10K. You put in 10K.
- 49:05Speaker 2: But then the housewife is still the one that has
- 49:07Speaker 2: to plan it, get the caterer, get the decorating, get
- 49:10Speaker 2: the party planner.
- 49:11Speaker 5: Look, if it's something, if it's like a wedding, a
- 49:14Speaker 5: 40th birthday, a 10-year anniversary, these are things that they
- 49:18Speaker 5: were going to have anyway. Yeah.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:20Speaker 5: And so, yes, of course, they amplified them for the
- 49:23Speaker 5: show and they had spent a lot more money on
- 49:24Speaker 5: them because it's being filmed.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Right.
- 49:26Speaker 5: But, you know, the show's not like, oh, yeah, we're
- 49:29Speaker 5: going to pay for your 20th anniversary party. You know, like,
- 49:31Speaker 5: we're going to. We're going to film your 20th anniversary party.
- 49:34Speaker 5: What a great way to do that.
- 49:36Speaker 2: Sometimes I've had– I've interviewed housewives and they revealed that
- 49:40Speaker 2: like– and they never showed any of my charity work
- 49:43Speaker 2: or they never showed my business. They wouldn't allow me
- 49:47Speaker 2: to talk about– like when we talked about Crystal. When
- 49:52Speaker 2: Crystal came on my show, Crystal from Beverly Hills, I
- 49:55Speaker 2: didn't know that she had this coconut water company.
- 49:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:58Speaker 2: That she'd had for a long time. That was a
- 50:00Speaker 2: huge deal.
- 50:01Speaker 5: Well, yeah. So there's also– You know, there's the Bethany
- 50:04Speaker 5: Frankel clause.
- 50:05Speaker 2: And is that real?
- 50:06Speaker 5: That is real, yeah.
- 50:07Speaker 2: What is it?
- 50:08Speaker 5: Explain it. It's like a percentage. If they're going to
- 50:12Speaker 5: let you promote your show... Your product. If they're going
- 50:15Speaker 5: to let you promote your product on the show, they
- 50:18Speaker 5: want something. You know, they want a percentage of that.
- 50:21Speaker 2: But I kind of feel like it's one of those
- 50:22Speaker 2: things that's like... royalties off a book. Like, it's really hard.
- 50:27Speaker 5: No, it gets crazy. No, they get crazy because there
- 50:29Speaker 5: have been reality shows where there have been, like, OnlyFans creators,
- 50:33Speaker 5: for example, who have established OnlyFans, right? And they're going
- 50:37Speaker 5: into a reality show and the people are like, oh, well,
- 50:42Speaker 5: you know, you're going to be amplified by the exposure
- 50:45Speaker 5: of this reality show. It's going to make a lot
- 50:47Speaker 5: of money on the OnlyFans, so we would like a
- 50:49Speaker 5: cut of your OnlyFans. I know someone that that happened to.
- 50:53Speaker 2: And it was like a major- Because I feel like
- 50:56Speaker 2: an OnlyFans thing is such like a personal thing.
- 50:58Speaker 5: Exactly, a personal thing.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Just like a podcast or something like that. I get
- 51:02Speaker 2: it if I'm launching Lemonade.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Right.
- 51:05Speaker 2: And I've never had Lemonade before.
- 51:05Speaker 5: This person has already had an extremely successful OnlyFans. Wow.
- 51:08Speaker 5: So they're making like a shitload of money off of
- 51:11Speaker 5: every year. And they're like, fuck no, you're not getting
- 51:13Speaker 5: a piece of that.
- 51:14Speaker 4: I've been doing that.
- 51:15Speaker 5: They didn't even end up doing the show because they
- 51:17Speaker 5: were like, I'm not doing that.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it's too much.
- 51:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:20Speaker 2: That's crazy because I understand- why that would make sense
- 51:24Speaker 2: with skinny girl and why maybe going forward, someone's like, Hey,
- 51:27Speaker 2: if you launch a product on the show.
- 51:29Speaker 5: Yeah. I mean, sure. It makes sense. But they want
- 51:33Speaker 5: like way too much. So you'll have, you'll have people
- 51:37Speaker 5: who will hold back on, on promoting their thing. And
- 51:40Speaker 5: then sometimes like the, the Bravo will just say, no,
- 51:42Speaker 5: you know, they won't, they won't promote that, you know?
- 51:44Speaker 2: So what if I, okay. So I'm not launching a lemonade. Okay.
- 51:47Speaker 2: I'm a housewife hypothetical. And I'm like, Well, I'm having
- 51:51Speaker 2: this party and it's my lemonade party. And at this party,
- 51:58Speaker 2: I'm going to fucking tell my co-housewife off. I'm going
- 52:02Speaker 2: to tell her that I know that she cheated with
- 52:05Speaker 2: a pool boy. So this is going to be– and I,
- 52:08Speaker 2: as a calculating, self-producing housewife, I decide I'm going to
- 52:12Speaker 2: save that fucking juicy action for my lemonade party. party
- 52:17Speaker 2: so that they can't cut it out. And we will
- 52:19Speaker 2: have to see. And I'm going to even have the
- 52:21Speaker 2: fight in front of Heather's Lemonade or whatever. Do you
- 52:27Speaker 2: think anyone's ever been that calculated? Because I think that's
- 52:29Speaker 2: pretty smart. I think that's what you should do.
- 52:32Speaker 5: That is smart. And people, yes, people do stuff like that.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Because otherwise, if nothing happens at the party and
- 52:39Speaker 2: you also spent $ 20, 000 of your own money. Oh, yeah.
- 52:42Speaker 5: You better make sure something interesting happens at that expensive party.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Yeah, they might cut it out of the thing. Because
- 52:46Speaker 2: also they don't want to promote your other side gig.
- 52:49Speaker 2: So it's like you almost got to make the fight,
- 52:51Speaker 2: the tears with the husband, something happen. Right in front
- 52:55Speaker 2: of your product.
- 52:55Speaker 5: Yes, exactly.
- 52:57Speaker 2: Well, no.
- 52:57Speaker 5: Okay. So there's like, look.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Same with like wearing Birch, you know, I've got my
- 53:00Speaker 2: shirt on, like wearing the agency hat every time he
- 53:03Speaker 2: came to film. He had that agency hat on. Like
- 53:06Speaker 2: that is smart, you know?
- 53:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:08Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, there was a housewife. So we
- 53:12Speaker 5: would do– there's times when like you'll be at the
- 53:16Speaker 5: beginning of a season, right? And they're in casting and
- 53:19Speaker 5: we're talking to a few different ladies as housewives, to
- 53:22Speaker 5: be potential housewives. And you'll come in and someone will
- 53:25Speaker 5: come in for like a test shoot. You'll do a scene.
- 53:29Speaker 5: And we had a lady test for Atlanta and went
- 53:35Speaker 5: into– I didn't shoot this scene, but one of my
- 53:39Speaker 5: closest friends, another producer, she did. And she's like, we
- 53:42Speaker 5: went in there to shoot this scene of her family, like,
- 53:45Speaker 5: in her kitchen, right? And this woman had a product line.
- 53:48Speaker 5: And the entire kitchen counter was, like, QVC of all
- 53:54Speaker 5: of the products of her, like, I don't even know.
- 53:56Speaker 5: It was, like, maybe some vitamins and stuff, whatever, supplements,
- 54:00Speaker 5: some kind of thing. But they were everywhere. And, like,
- 54:02Speaker 5: throughout the scene, she kept, like, going to get them and, like,
- 54:05Speaker 5: opening it and pouring it in, like, uh-huh, like, talking
- 54:07Speaker 5: to her daughter. And they're, like– Babe, no, we're not
- 54:11Speaker 5: doing that.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 54:12Speaker 2: If you're going to write a book on how to
- 54:16Speaker 2: be a housewife, don't bring up your products. Don't bring
- 54:19Speaker 2: up that you're a boss, babe.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Right.
- 54:21Speaker 2: That you're looking to, you know, become your, yeah.
- 54:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Become your own, you know, entrepreneurial thing.
- 54:29Speaker 5: But yeah, that is definitely a thing. And, and that
- 54:31Speaker 5: was born from, from Bethany, you know, like, uh, we
- 54:35Speaker 5: don't want someone coming on the show now making all
- 54:37Speaker 5: this money. We want a piece of that. So, uh, Yeah,
- 54:41Speaker 5: if they're going to promote it on there, there's definitely
- 54:43Speaker 5: some kind of thing worked out with the product.
- 54:46Speaker 2: I mean, I honestly think it's pretty hard to launch
- 54:49Speaker 2: something else. Like if you release a Vanderpump and you
- 54:53Speaker 2: already have the restaurant, it's totally great. But when you
- 54:57Speaker 2: think about, you know, like a Vicki Gunvalson, besides podcasts
- 55:01Speaker 2: and things like that, or maybe a one-time book, like
- 55:05Speaker 2: she had the Vicki Vodka, she had the Vicki Diamonds,
- 55:08Speaker 2: she had the Wine by Wives. The thing that's still
- 55:11Speaker 2: standing is insurance.
- 55:11Speaker 5: Never heard of any of those things.
- 55:12Speaker 2: Yeah, because it never, like, and then, you know, others
- 55:16Speaker 2: tried to do different things. And I, it's like, I
- 55:18Speaker 2: commend them to do it.
- 55:18Speaker 5: I mean, like, some had success. So, like, you know.
- 55:20Speaker 2: I also feel they're so susceptible, though, to, like, a
- 55:22Speaker 2: grifter guy.
- 55:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Or a woman coming and being like, we're at a
- 55:26Speaker 2: white label, a skincare line.
- 55:29Speaker 5: Well, isn't that what happened with Whitney? Wild Rose? Yeah.
- 55:33Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on.
- 55:34Speaker 5: It was accused of being some kind of Ponzi scheme
- 55:36Speaker 5: or something.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Well, it wasn't going to be an MLM, and then
- 55:40Speaker 2: it was. And she's like, I thought I was going
- 55:41Speaker 2: to be in Sephora and Ulta. But there's been other
- 55:44Speaker 2: housewives in the past where they're just like, we're just
- 55:46Speaker 2: going to put your name on like a skincare. And
- 55:50Speaker 2: then they'll have the party and all that stuff. And
- 55:52Speaker 2: then if it doesn't really go crazy. I mean, people
- 55:55Speaker 2: aren't necessarily– Selling it, you know, buying it.
- 56:01Speaker 5: Because it's like- Taylor Armstrong's in the lab formulating this
- 56:05Speaker 5: new facial lotion serum.
- 56:08Speaker 2: I always just imagine the housewife that's like first season
- 56:11Speaker 2: and then gets an email that's like, you have such
- 56:14Speaker 2: great skin. We'd like to talk about- forming your own
- 56:17Speaker 2: skincare company. And you're like, okay, you're not a dermatologist.
- 56:20Speaker 2: You have no idea how to do skin. You're not
- 56:22Speaker 2: a makeup artist. And then you just get with some
- 56:24Speaker 2: weird woman that you don't know. And now you're involved
- 56:27Speaker 2: in this business. And now you've, you know, and they
- 56:30Speaker 2: encourage you to put like a hundred thousand dollars into it.
- 56:32Speaker 2: Now you've made $ 2 off of housewives because you spent
- 56:36Speaker 2: it on your glam team and the party for the
- 56:37Speaker 2: Heather's lemonade and the lemonade never sold. And now you're like, fuck.
- 56:43Speaker 2: And then all the other women are talking about what
- 56:45Speaker 2: a loser you are and how the lemonade tastes like shit.
- 56:47Speaker 5: Well, yeah.
- 56:48Speaker 2: I mean, that's the other thing. They all will say like, ugh,
- 56:50Speaker 2: this food is awful or this lemonade is awful.
- 56:52Speaker 5: Well, yeah. Then, you know, you do all that buildup
- 56:55Speaker 5: to promote your product and then it just takes like
- 56:57Speaker 5: one snide comment from the housewife that hates you to
- 56:59Speaker 5: like sink your whole entire business. But it's like with
- 57:03Speaker 5: Shamia on Housewives of Atlanta this year, she was working
- 57:06Speaker 5: on like a rum deal, right?
- 57:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:10Speaker 2: Oh, rum, that's kind of good.
- 57:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I know. And she's got this big butt now.
- 57:14Speaker 5: And so she was like rum bum. She was like,
- 57:18Speaker 5: and the bottle was going to be in the shape
- 57:19Speaker 5: of a butt. But then the people she was working with,
- 57:22Speaker 5: they were like, we don't make rum or something. We
- 57:24Speaker 5: make tequila or whiskey. I forget what happened. So the
- 57:27Speaker 5: thing ended up being like, Anyway, the whole thing fell apart.
- 57:30Speaker 5: And so it was like, not, not it, you know? Right.
- 57:34Speaker 5: But she still had the party though of like, cause
- 57:36Speaker 5: that was her plan. Like all cast event was her
- 57:39Speaker 5: rum bum party or whatever. And, um, so she has
- 57:44Speaker 5: the product party, but then they're like, when is the
- 57:46Speaker 5: rum coming out? And they're like, well, we're not sure.
- 57:49Speaker 5: And actually it's not.
- 57:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:52Speaker 5: And it never was. And then at the end of
- 57:53Speaker 5: the season, it was like the rum fell through.
- 57:55Speaker 2: I mean, that's the one thing. It's like they're on
- 57:57Speaker 2: the show and they're like, well, here's my big opportunity
- 58:00Speaker 2: to like finally be a boss bitch or whatever. And
- 58:04Speaker 2: then if it doesn't work out, all the other women
- 58:07Speaker 2: are really snarky and like mocking them and kind of unsupportive.
- 58:11Speaker 2: It's like.
- 58:12Speaker 5: Yeah, it's brutal.
- 58:13Speaker 2: I would say don't. I would just say don't fall
- 58:16Speaker 2: into these. grifters that knock on your door that want
- 58:19Speaker 2: to try to do some weird product with you. Just
- 58:22Speaker 2: be yourself.
- 58:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 58:23Speaker 2: Be likable enough. And then you can stay on the
- 58:25Speaker 2: show and have some fun and make some money just
- 58:28Speaker 2: by endorsing a bunch of other products as an influencer.
- 58:31Speaker 2: That's what it should be.
- 58:33Speaker 5: Yeah. You don't have to get in there and have
- 58:35Speaker 5: something your first season to showcase and show. I think
- 58:39Speaker 5: that is a mistake that a lot of housewives make.
- 58:41Speaker 5: They come in their first season trying to do everything
- 58:44Speaker 5: they're trying to do a product they're trying to do
- 58:47Speaker 5: a song they're trying to do all the tropes you
- 58:49Speaker 5: know what I mean so it's like yeah just kind
- 58:51Speaker 5: of go in there be yourself and really work on
- 58:55Speaker 5: like if I was giving an advice to a new
- 58:56Speaker 5: housewife yeah like your first season I think your biggest
- 58:59Speaker 5: priority should be building relationships go in there and like
- 59:03Speaker 5: genuinely try to build relationships with people don't go in
- 59:06Speaker 5: and try to like see who you're going to fight with.
- 59:09Speaker 5: Don't going to try to see who you're going to
- 59:10Speaker 5: spar with.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Who you're going to take down.
- 59:11Speaker 5: Right. Like genuinely go in with the idea of like
- 59:15Speaker 5: I want to make friends here and I want to
- 59:17Speaker 5: like build some genuine relationships. When you do that, that's
- 59:22Speaker 5: what's going to lead to like good stuff down the line.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:24Speaker 5: You know? And that's what's– because it's going to be authentic.
- 59:27Speaker 5: It's going to be based in reality. Totally. And so
- 59:30Speaker 5: that's what I think so many people forget and lose
- 59:32Speaker 5: sight of.
- 59:33Speaker 2: And I think also like there was a– in Atlanta,
- 59:36Speaker 2: there was Kenya and somebody– And she like called her
- 59:39Speaker 2: out on it. She's like, okay, you're like coming after
- 59:41Speaker 2: me because I'm the queen and this is your first season.
- 59:46Speaker 2: And it seems so, comes out of nowhere. Like when
- 59:49Speaker 2: a new person attacks an older cast member and it comes,
- 59:52Speaker 2: it feels like, wait, what's the basis of it? What
- 59:55Speaker 2: beef do you have? This is so weird.
- 59:56Speaker 6: Am I.
- 59:57Speaker 2: did I miss an episode? You're like, what the fuck
- 59:59Speaker 2: is going on? Oh, that chick just wanted to have
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: her moment. Yeah. And then when the more experienced housewife
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: kind of calls them out on it, slightly breaking the
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: fourth wall, like we know what you're doing here.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: I think you're talking about with, with Kenya and Brit
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: from last season. Yeah. There was something from season 16
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: when she was like, okay, you want to have your moment,
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: have it, you know, like have your moment. And she
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: was like, Oh, you want to have your moment? And
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: she was like, Oh no, honey, I am the moment.
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: She didn't even really have to say anything.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: When we were talking about fake boyfriends before, what was
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: your opinion of the whole controversy over the beautiful Stacey
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: from Potomac? She was getting a divorce and then she
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: had this boyfriend.
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: A QVC queen.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: That she worked at QVC and this guy also worked
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: at QVC on camera. And they just had a heterosexual
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: love affair, you know, and some people questioned it. And
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: then he basically- An asexual love affair. I know. Yeah,
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: that's what I was joking, saying heterosexual. Okay, whatever. And
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: I guess he told some people and it got back
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: to the house, the other housewives, that it was not
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: real and she was actually like paying him on the side.
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: Well, it got back to them because he called Wendy's
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: husband while they were at the reunion and And revealed
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: that Stacey had offered him 50% of her Housewives paycheck,
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: of her first season paycheck to do that. Allegedly. This
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: is what– and this was also discussed on the reunion. Look,
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: Stacey– I think Stacey has been– wow, what an enigma
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: in the Housewives universe. What a unique, interesting, like one-of-a-kind
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: character we've never had. When she first came on her
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: first season, that season with TJ, I was like, what?
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: This girl is, this is not gonna work. Like this
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: girl's like QVC-ing in all of these scenes. Like, so hello,
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: how are you? I'm like, this isn't gonna work, you know?
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: But I'll be, I'll be damned if it does. Like
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: halfway through that season, I was like, this girl's like,
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: she's great. Because she has the audacity to be utterly ridiculous,
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: you know?
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: So- Do you think other people, though, have paid or
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: had a side deal?
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: I do think she did that. But, you know, I
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: respect her commitment to the lie.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Yeah, she was just like, it's not true.
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: She will go to the grave with that, you know? Yeah.
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: And I can respect that. I think that's like, look,
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: she committed to it. She's like, it failed. I'm committing
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: to my story and I'm going to keep it trucking.
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: And people like her, you know? People like her because... A,
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: she's driving the other ones. Like Giselle can't stand her. Yeah.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: I thought Giselle had a fake boyfriend. Remember when Giselle
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: was dating some really cute guy from Winter House?
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: Oh, my God. I know him. Jason. That wasn't fake.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: That wasn't fake?
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: I don't think that was fake. No, they were just
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: like– it was like a fun little moment. Okay. You know? No, yeah.
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: So he was on Winter House.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: Which I did Winter House. Super nice guy. Great guy. Um,
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: and I was so excited that they.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: So they had a full boning.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: They were like, they were going and hanging out and
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: seeing each other and stuff.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Look, I think I just thought as a viewer, I thought,
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: you know, she was like, come on the show. We'll
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: keep you a little relevant. You'll come on your, I know.
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: I mean, I think they were, look, they were hanging out.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: I don't think that they were like a super serious thing,
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: but I think they were hanging out and he was
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: also like already in reality TV.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: So I was like, why not? Yeah.
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: Like, why not? You know?
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: Remember, didn't Kenya have like some UPS man or something
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: that she– and the girls accused her.
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: Of not being role-playing? Kenya had been accused definitely of.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: No, did he work for UPS? He had like some
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: normal job, that guy. He wasn't particularly cute. And it
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: was like this whole storyline where, you know, are we
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: going to get married or not? It's before she had
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: her daughter.
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: And they were like– This is they accused her of
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: this whole thing not being real.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: And I just wonder, like, you know.
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: If that was that was like the first one. That
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: was the first case of this kind of I feel
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: like in Housewives where someone was accused of that.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: And and it's been a it's been a familiar trope throughout. Because, look,
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: these women are under a lot of pressure to deliver,
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: you know. So when you're coming in to contract negotiations again,
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: you know. it's like, Oh, we're looking ahead to next season.
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: We were, we're having, they start having calls with everybody like, Oh,
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: what does next season look like? What does your story
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: look like next year? What have you got going on?
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: What's been happening since we wrapped, you know? And you
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: start to talk about that. And if, you know, you're like, well,
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: my kids are all gone and they're gone. Last week I,
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: I played tennis once. Oh shit. What am I doing?
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: You know? Like, so like you got to come up
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: with something. And so the, I understand that, that, that,
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: the fire that's lit under them to be like, Oh,
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: I guess I got to start fucking dating somebody. And
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: they will point blank say, will.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: A producer ever give them some ideas like on the side,
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: like my friend, you know, and you would be like
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: to me, Heather, as your friend and your producer, here's
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: like three ideas you could get going. Okay. You know,
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: if it's not a new boyfriend, it could be, can
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: you remodel something in your house? Like what are some
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: of the things that you would suggest that someone do
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: that If they've gotten literally nothing's changed for two years
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: straight in their boring ass life.
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: Well, I think the first thing you go to is like,
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: is there a traumatic experience that you've been through that
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: you haven't talked about yet?
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: Yeah. Is there some.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Story- That you have never told anywhere.
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: Story about something that you have overcome, something that was
- 1:05:42Speaker 5: challenging for you, something that was tragic?
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: Anything.
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: Do you have a trauma? Yeah. Is there a traumatic
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: story you haven't revealed on camera yet? Let's do that.
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: You know, and then it'll be like, oh, then we'll
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: process that all season. We'll go to therapy. All season
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: we'll be in therapy about that traumatic event that happened
- 1:06:00Speaker 5: seven years ago or whatever it is. But, you know, like, yeah,
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: you'll come up and come up with something like that.
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: And then we're like, oh, that's the one thing I
- 1:06:06Speaker 5: really don't want to talk about. We're like, well, what
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: else you got?
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: What else you got? I feel like that with OC
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: last season, Heather Dubrow shared, like, about her father who passed, but, like,
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Whatever their relationship was, and they go to Amsterdam and stuff.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: And then this season, she, like, accused Tamara of, like,
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: talking about her dad. And Tamara was like, you made
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: that your story last year. Like, you brought it up.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: And I did think it was kind of interesting. Like,
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: when you've been on for that many years.
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: Yeah, she's like, shit, did I?
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: And you're like, yeah, you know, you can see it
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: when someone's like, I, you know, had a depressive experience.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: thing where I wanted to end my life. And that
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: happened when I was 21. And now I'm 50. I'm
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: going to talk about it or whatever.
- 1:06:52Speaker 5: And look, that's great. If it's something that was traumatic
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: that you overcame and that can help other people, I
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: think that's actually great. And I think you should talk
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: about it. And that's something I would always tell people.
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: Sometimes the thing that you don't want to talk about
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: the most is the thing that A, people are going
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: to want to hear about you, hear from you the most,
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: but also the thing that's going to make people connect
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: to you the most. Because people connect to um, hardship
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: and things that you've like been through, like, oh my God,
- 1:07:17Speaker 5: I've been through that too. And they see themselves in you.
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: So when you tell a story that's like traumatic and
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: something that was scary or that you overcome, it makes
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: you human, you know, and like, it makes you relatable. And, and,
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: and that's why that is a go-to in those moments
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: where it's like, look, honey, you got nothing else. You
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: need to open up. We need to see a part
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: of you that we haven't seen before. Yeah. And so
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: that's like a peeling of the layer of the onion,
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: a revelation of something deeper that's kind of getting to
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: a deeper level of who this person is. So I
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: think it is a functional tool when someone may not have.
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: a lot going on. Look, we all have like quiet
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: years where, you know, maybe, maybe you didn't date anybody
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: and maybe, maybe you didn't have like the big exciting thing.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: Happened in your career. And no one died.
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: And yeah. It's like, it was just a quiet year,
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: you know, that's human.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: So when someone's having a quiet year and, but they
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: want to stay on the show.
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: I mean, what do they do? Do they plan? Are
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: they then the ones who plan? Remodel a house, yeah.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: Or think about where the trip is? Like, how do
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: you guys come up where the trip should be? And
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: who should be in charge of it?
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: Well, the trips are all like done with trade outs.
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: You know what I mean? So there's deals being done.
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: And that's like there's the segment producers have a lot
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: to do with that. And then. If the show has
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: a bigger budget, sometimes there's actually like a trade-out producer
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: and like who's specifically working on cast trips. And so
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: you're reaching out to resorts. You're reaching out to different places,
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: tourism boards and like seeing what kind of deals we
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: can work out, what kind of trade-outs and then, you know,
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: seeing what kind of comps you can get for the–
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: not only the cast but the whole crew to stay
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: at some resort while you go and shoot.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: So let's say you find a great resort.
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: In Cabo.
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: And now, so then you look at the cast of,
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: you know, the seven girls.
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: And then you're like, okay, who could say, let's go
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: to Cabo because that's where I got married.
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: Because I'm going to build a house there. That is
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: exactly how it's done.
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: And so, well, I mean, Cabo would be- That's not
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: an exciting one. That's not a good example. Let's say-
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: Let's say it's Jamaica.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Yeah, Jamaica.
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: So, yeah, like- Like Jamaica we went to in Atlanta.
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: Like obviously Sonia was– like that's where her whole family
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: was from. So that's obviously going to be Sonia's trip
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: and she hosts that trip. She has a personal connection.
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: Now sometimes a trip is selected for that. Like which
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: was that? Like we sought out Jamaica because Sonia was
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: from there.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: And so like her family is from there. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: And so we went– And like they pursued trade outs
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: there and like resorts there and stuff like that. Right.
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: But then sometimes it's just like we're having general conversations
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: with different resorts and different things. It's like, oh, well,
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: this place in Hawaii has offered a like 60 percent
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: trade out on 300 rooms for us and like. meals, blah, blah, blah,
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: like whatever the deal is.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: And they're like, so that's pretty attractive. Like, all right, well,
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: I guess we're going to Hawaii. Who the hell on
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: the cast has got some reason to go there, you know?
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: And so we'll like come up with something, you know?
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: And then that's how it's, so it's narrowed down. But
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: then it also, a lot goes into the decision of
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: who leads the trip because it also has to be
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: typically someone who's in a good enough place with the
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: majority of the group that it would make logical sense
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: for them to invite all these people on a trip. Now,
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: sometimes you have such a fracture group where it's like
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: there's not a single person who's good with everybody. And
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: so you're like, why would they be inviting this person
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: on an international trip when they just told them to
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: like eat shit and die? But they have to come.
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: So then when that does happen, because there's been a
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: few occasions that I've watched where this person, I'm in
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: charge of the trip. And I'm like, no, this person
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: is not going because I don't like that person. And
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: then that one happens. Is really annoyed because maybe they're
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: not a regular housewife and therefore they get paid per
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: day like they're a friend of. And they don't get
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: to go on the trip. So now they're missing out
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: on nine days of pay and several episodes. Yeah. And
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: so the real– that's where I'm like the anger of–
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: You fucked me on my money and being on the
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: show versus if this was real life and you just
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: didn't include me in a free trip, which in real life,
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: women aren't inviting friends on free trips.
- 1:11:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: It doesn't happen, you know?
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: I mean, I know one group of people in real
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: life that do this, but they're very wealthy and they're
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: the only ones. Like most people, it's like maybe someone
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: organizes it, but everyone's paying for their own hotels, you know?
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: And also, I never want to see another housewife get
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: mad at at the host of the trip about their
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: accommodations because they'd had nothing to fucking do with those accommodations.
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: Like when Shamia and Kelly got mad at Cynthia Bailey
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: this year for their accommodations on their trip, like the
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: room was dirty. I was like, do you think Cynthia
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: has ever laid eyes upon that room before you got
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: in there? Like, you know, she did not. Go talk
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: to the segment producer. It's just so funny. Right.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: And the picking of the rooms and all that.
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: The picking of the room, it's always done to amplify drama.
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: But specifically the thing of not cleaning the room, it's
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: such fake drama.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: I have a question. When someone is being demoted as
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: just going to be a friend of– and I know
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: contracts are all different for different people, whatever– But one
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: of the best examples of why, you know, it's a
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: gift from God is when Luann got demoted. But then
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: her life was so interesting in Real Housewives of New
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: York that, like I heard, like she made more that
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: season than ever because they were paying her per day.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: And then they kept using her and everything. And then
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: the next year she was back holding the apple. But
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: some people, their ego gets too bruised.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: And they go– I'm not going to just be a
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: friend of. I think there's a lot of benefits to
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: just being the friend of.
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: The friend of is a cute little gig.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: You're just not in the poster.
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: The friend of is a cute gig because it's like
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: you can come in and come out. You're not expected
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: to do as much. You're not expected to be at
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: every single thing. So if you have a trip coming
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: up one weekend, you're like, I'm going to be gone.
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: I'm not going to be there. You're like, all right.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: You know, and like, here's Beverly Hills from a couple
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: of years ago. And it's like, these people were all
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: the actual housewives.
- 1:13:48Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: But you know, like Kathy Hilton, I feel like she
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: likes just being the friend of.
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: And it works for her. Beverly Hills is a unique
- 1:13:56Speaker 5: case because the friends on Beverly Hills are Kathy Hilton
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: and Jennifer Tilly. Now they are, they're making, they're making
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: a lot more than the friend ofs on other shows.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:07Speaker 5: You know, um, because they're, you know, they're coming in
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: with name recognition, star power, all that stuff, you know,
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: especially like Jennifer Tilly.
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: And they're just fun to watch.
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. And they're bringing, they're bringing, they're bringing it,
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: you know.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: But like, you know, a lot of times the friend
- 1:14:24Speaker 5: of position was kind of was kind of designed as
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: like to bring, like to expand the universe of the show,
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: to expand the, the friend group, right. That we can
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: see these other people that may not necessarily be a
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: part of the show permanently, but they're friends. And so
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: there were kind of peripheral characters at the beginning, but
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: then they became more integral to the story. And I
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: think that really the first friend that like made the
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: friend role iconic was Marlo, Marlo Hampton.
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:53Speaker 5: You know, Marlo Hampton took the friend role, and ran
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: with it. And she made herself like, uh, an, an
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: icon in the Atlanta franchise, you know, before she was
- 1:15:06Speaker 5: a housewife, you know, and bringing the fashion, bringing, bringing
- 1:15:09Speaker 5: iconic moments with Sheree. And they have like, they have, there,
- 1:15:12Speaker 5: there's several like iconic moments of, and her and Nini
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: had a great friendship. Um, and then, then they made
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: Marlo a housewife, you know? Um, And I think that
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: it just kind of goes with, like, what you do
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: with it, you know? Yeah. You can go into– if
- 1:15:30Speaker 5: you know your place as a friend and, like, go in,
- 1:15:33Speaker 5: make drama where it is, like, you know, like, do
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: some interesting shit and, like, fall back and, like– You
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: can be good. And like, I don't know. I think
- 1:15:43Speaker 5: it's a cute gig. And I think Cynthia has really
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: like settled into that role really nicely. I think it's
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: a really cool way to reintegrate housewives that have left
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: and a good way for them to come back and
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: also a good way to like test the waters if
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: that's going to work. You know, if this housewife is
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: going to work with this new group, you know, maybe
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: we don't need to make her a full housewife at first.
- 1:16:05Speaker 5: Let's bring her in. They're starting to do that now.
- 1:16:08Speaker 5: Like with Potomac, we have, we've seen Monique back as
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: a friend for her second season. Now Robin's back as
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: a friend. Yeah. And so it's kind of a cool
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: way to see the women that we've said goodbye to,
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: to see them come back and like be involved in. And,
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: and yeah, it's, it's sometimes the friends have big, big
- 1:16:29Speaker 5: iconic moments and sometimes they edit them out of the
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: show completely. We've seen that happen on Salt Lake a
- 1:16:34Speaker 5: few times. Where there was like a friend of that
- 1:16:37Speaker 5: they introduced. And then halfway through the season, you're like,
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: whatever happened to that girl? Remember that girl, like Makai
- 1:16:43Speaker 5: or something that started with an M on Salt Lake.
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: Well, there was one season. There was also a girl, Danny.
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: She had like a gray streak in her hair. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: Remember her? There was a few of them on Sunday.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: There are some that they start and then you just
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: see this person off to the side and you're like,
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: clearly they thought they were going to pop and they didn't.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: And then you just never, and that's kind of fun.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: When you're like, you're halfway walking, you're like, who is
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: this person? Like, why are they always there? And they
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: don't address them at all because they were like, oh,
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: we can cut around them. I think that's kind of funny.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: When you have, when producers have like a specific housewife
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: that like they call every day and they're, So you're
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: in charge of this person and your friend, the producer,
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: is in charge of that woman. Do you, as each
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: of the producers, talk or purposely don't talk?
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: We talk. Okay. So you have– every week you have
- 1:17:37Speaker 5: a cast insight call usually with your cast members. So
- 1:17:41Speaker 5: usually every– and every show does it a little different,
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: you know, like of how they assign this and divvy
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: it up and stuff. But a lot of times it's
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: like the segment producers are the ones assigned to cast members.
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: So usually they'll have like two or three, depending on
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: how many segment producers there are. Like my first season
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: on Housewives of Atlanta, that was my first Housewives season.
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: My first Housewives that I was assigned to were Candy
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: and Kenya. And so every week I had to do
- 1:18:12Speaker 5: a call on Mondays with both Candy and Kenya where
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: we would talk about everything that happened there. over the
- 1:18:19Speaker 5: past week, like all the scenes that they had done, like,
- 1:18:22Speaker 5: how are you feeling about, and then we'd go through
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: the whole cast. How are you feeling about Drew?
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: Like, you know, we go and talk about all the
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: things about Drew and I'm, I'm taking notes, you know?
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: And then, so we go through all the people and
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: then you go through, okay, what do you have going
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: on this week personally? Like what's coming, what's coming up
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: or really like in the next two weeks, because you're
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: kind of planning two weeks ahead. And so it's like, oh,
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: I want to do, I want to, you know, My
- 1:18:48Speaker 5: daughter has a tea party coming up. I'd like to
- 1:18:51Speaker 5: invite some of the other girls, kids or whatever. And
- 1:18:53Speaker 5: so you're getting all that information so you can book
- 1:18:55Speaker 5: a place for that.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 1:18:57Speaker 5: And you do all that. So you take all that information, right?
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: Your whole cast insights. I got my candy cast insights
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: and I got my Kenya cast insights. And then I
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: am sending that an email. a big ass email to
- 1:19:10Speaker 5: the entire producing team. Yeah. A detailed thing of everything
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: we discussed, how she feels about Drew, how she feels
- 1:19:18Speaker 5: about Marlo, how she feels about Sonia, how she feels
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: about Sheree, you know? And then, so everybody gets those emails,
- 1:19:24Speaker 5: the whole team gets them. And then we have a
- 1:19:27Speaker 5: story meeting and then we're going through each one. Okay.
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: So here's what's going on with Candy in the coming weeks.
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: Here's what's going on with Sheree. Okay. Here's what's going
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: on with the conflict between Candy and Sheree. okay, here's
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: where we need to like build upon this this week.
- 1:19:43Speaker 5: Here's where we need to get these other women talking
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: about X, Y, Z. So then by the time they
- 1:19:48Speaker 5: all get back together on Friday for Drew's beat the
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: bomb party or whatever the hell it is, we'll be
- 1:19:55Speaker 5: ready for charade to confront Candy.
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: And when we see the confessionals, so do you do like,
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: let's say shooting is 60 days. Do you do like
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: a day of confessionals like the 20 days in and
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: then 40 days in.
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: The first confessional starts like, uh, usually probably about like
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: week four. Okay. You know, you've, you've started doing, you're
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: like three weeks into production. They're, they're starting to cut
- 1:20:23Speaker 5: the first episode. So like, uh, we'll get them in,
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: get them in the interview chair.
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: And then whatever that first look is for the confessional,
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: do they ever get back in that.
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: Look 20 years later?
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: I mean, 20 days later? 20 years later, yes. 20
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: days later. And they have to get in the same thing.
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: Oh, hell yeah. So recreating the confessional.
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: Because I remember one time. Megan King Edmonds or something
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: like dyed her hair pink.
- 1:20:49Speaker 5: But she still had to do the confessionals.
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: So then, no, so they like put a wig on her,
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: but it was like a bad wig.
- 1:20:55Speaker 5: Oh my God. It's like at that point, just give
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: her a new look.
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20:57Speaker 5: Give her a new look. It's so stupid.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: No one's going to remember. Yeah.
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: Yes. So they do try to, well, you will recreate
- 1:21:04Speaker 5: looks because it depends on how far you got, right?
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: So say I'm interviewing you and we've shot three episodes, right?
- 1:21:13Speaker 5: We're in episode four.
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:21:15Speaker 5: Currently in the real world. But in this interview, I
- 1:21:19Speaker 5: have questions all the way to episode three.
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:21:22Speaker 5: But in this session, we may only get to the
- 1:21:26Speaker 5: beginning of episode two. Right. Depending on how long we
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: took on the first episode. So it just depends. Some
- 1:21:33Speaker 5: housewives are a lot faster in interviews. Some are a
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: lot slower.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: And do you guys throw them funny lines to say
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: and stuff?
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: I mean, yeah. I think we talked about this last time.
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: There will definitely be moments of like, when you'll be
- 1:21:46Speaker 5: like talking in conversation. And then if I think of
- 1:21:49Speaker 5: something funny, I'll be like, oh, I wouldn't fucking put
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: that past her or whatever. And then I'll always offer
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: that up. And then sometimes they'll just take it and
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: say it.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: Do you think there's housewives that like hire professional writers
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: before a season?
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: I've never seen that. I've never seen that. Not for
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: an interview. I mean, maybe I'm sure they... I'm sure
- 1:22:11Speaker 5: someone has done that. But I have never seen.
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: Because I'm feeling like that's going on right now in
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: the new Roni.
- 1:22:19Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. It was Jessel.
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: Jessel is coming with like these– and Aaron kind of
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: calls her out on it. And it's like how long
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: have you been thinking about this before you came to
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: this lunch to like say these zingers hoping to like
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: pop it.
- 1:22:33Speaker 5: Trying to have a moment.
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: Do you ever have a housewife that is kind of
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: like– All right, how much more do we have to
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: do to get you guys out of my kitchen?
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: What do you need me to say?
- 1:22:45Speaker 5: Absolutely, because you'll have, I think we may have talked
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: about this before, but going into each scene, you have beats, right? Right.
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: So like in the mornings, all the crews, we get
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: a beats email. So it's like all the scenes break
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: down and then all the beats for each scene. So
- 1:23:01Speaker 5: say it's like, this is a scene with Heather and Patrick.
- 1:23:03Speaker 5: And in this scene, they need to talk about these
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: 10 topics. And within those 10 topics, here's like, 10
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: bullet points of questions they should ask each other.
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: So you kind of tell them that before, but then
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: sometimes they get go off or forget.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:23:16Speaker 5: You meet with them both privately before the scene and
- 1:23:19Speaker 5: prep them. Okay. And then yes, they, then they get
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: in there and of course they get off track, you know?
- 1:23:25Speaker 5: So that's when the big words thing comes in or
- 1:23:27Speaker 5: you're like, all right, give them, you know, you, you rate,
- 1:23:30Speaker 5: I would rate cause I'm behind monitors. Right.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:23:32Speaker 5: And then I would radio my segment producer on the
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: floor and, Be like, hey, give them big words to
- 1:23:37Speaker 5: talk about– Big words.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: What do you mean big words?
- 1:23:39Speaker 5: Big words. I'll show you.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: Oh, like I'm sitting there and you're going to go,
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: don't forget to talk about the– I'm going to show you.
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: This is what it is.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: The peach cobbler. Okay.
- 1:23:47Speaker 5: So we're at this restaurant, right?
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:23:49Speaker 5: And like we're shooting this thing. I'm like, God, when
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: are they ever going to get to, you know, Gina
- 1:23:54Speaker 5: pissing Heather off? Okay. I need you to go get
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: in Tamara's eye and give her that.
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: Oh.
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: Why is Gina scared of pissing Heather off?
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: And then, so whoever that was for. And then, so like,
- 1:24:07Speaker 5: it's so funny. Some housewives are really good at getting
- 1:24:09Speaker 5: the notes and doing it. And then someone will be like.
- 1:24:13Speaker 5: And then, so he's like, well, I might as well
- 1:24:14Speaker 5: just fucking tell you. You know? You know what I mean? But, oh,
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: then you can get that. You can get it to
- 1:24:20Speaker 5: blink too. And they really don't, they don't get it.
- 1:24:22Speaker 5: But it's funny.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: But I mean, honestly, like I, you know.
- 1:24:25Speaker 5: Look at these. These are all from the shows. I
- 1:24:27Speaker 5: have them all. Look. Like, we have, there's so many.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: So when people say, you know, when people say, oh,
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: my God, it's not scripted. It's not scripted, but it
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: is scripted. somewhat contrived. I think we can say that.
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: I mean, it's, it's, it's not a full documentary where
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: cameras are falling. And I think people know that.
- 1:24:49Speaker 5: It's not unaltered or something.
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: I mean, like, otherwise it wouldn't be entertaining.
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: You think Sheree knows Martel is dating that other girl.
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Like, yeah, there's like just different,
- 1:25:01Speaker 5: all sorts of questions.
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: Like the quicker you get to it, the quicker we
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: all get.
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25:05Speaker 5: Cause these are the story we're tracking, you know, so
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: that's what we have to get.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: The last thing I want to ask you about is,
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: I've joked that certain shows are, you can tell when
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: the person is, you know, doing the Real Housewives of
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: the DMV. Like they are checking in, they're checking out.
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: How fucking quick can I get this mic off my back?
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: I want out. What I also think is really interesting
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: is when the girls start to get really mad that
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: someone's getting out of shit. Like they're leaving the scene early.
- 1:25:35Speaker 5: Oh, absolutely.
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: Absolutely. Absolutely. Well, that just happened on Mormon Wives too.
- 1:25:39Speaker 5: You can see of like Taylor coming in. Taylor leaving early. Well,
- 1:25:43Speaker 5: she came to– God, that scene was so unhinged. She
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: came to that dinner, ordered everything on the menu. Right.
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: She said, we'll take one of everything. And then she
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: left like five minutes later. Yeah. Can you imagine someone
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: doing that in the real world? You'd be like, what
- 1:25:58Speaker 5: is this tornado? But then she left. But then when
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: she left, the girls were like, you're not. You're not.
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: You could hear them saying like, you're not.
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: You already got here late.
- 1:26:07Speaker 5: They're like, you're not. Okay. Clearly. And there was such
- 1:26:11Speaker 5: a sentiment clearly of those girls being like, I'm glad
- 1:26:14Speaker 5: they used that too. And they were like, well, this
- 1:26:16Speaker 5: is going to be edited to make like Queen Taylor,
- 1:26:18Speaker 5: you know? So there was clearly like a sentiment between
- 1:26:20Speaker 5: those other girls that like the show protects and prioritizes Taylor.
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: And they're going to like show her in the best light.
- 1:26:26Speaker 5: But the fact that the show used them saying that.
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: which kind of makes the show look bad, right?
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: Well, also it's like, they don't know that she's got
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: the guy in the hotel room.
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: Oh yeah, they don't know half of it.
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: But also she's filming more than they are because they
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: got to take a nap and she had to take
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: a bathtub with the guy with two cameramen in the room.
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: So it's like, but they don't know that and they
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: think that she's just being like a lazy reality star
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: when instead she's fucking three guys.
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: Not showing up at the events and the, you know,
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: it's one thing to like film one-on-one scenes in your
- 1:26:57Speaker 5: personal story, but like, The other girls are like, look,
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: we need Taylor in the group events, the group scenes.
- 1:27:01Speaker 5: You're the star of the show. So I get the
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: frustration of that, of them leaving. And also, I'm sure
- 1:27:07Speaker 5: they're on time and stuff. Well, I don't know. I'm speculating.
- 1:27:11Speaker 5: But Macy seems like she's going to be on time.
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: Right, yeah.
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: And Michaela seems like she's going to be on time.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: Oh, being on time. What about all the times that
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: they've held a star back?
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: And they're all like, where is Heather? My God, it's
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: already 8.30 a.m. But I'm told to come at that
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: time or I'm being held back.
- 1:27:28Speaker 4: In a car.
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: And now there's a whole fight making it that I'm
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: disrespectful that I'm late. But I can't say that producer
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: Patrick made me sit in this town car for 40 minutes.
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: I have never had to make someone late. Like I've
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: never intentionally made someone late. I have never tricked someone
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: into being late.
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: Honey, the housewives are going to be late on their own.
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: That's good to know.
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: I never knew. I never knew if the lateness was
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: ever contrived.
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: They are always going to be late on their own.
- 1:27:54Speaker 5: And it will always be story. You know what I mean?
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: Because the people, they're always like, well, why don't they
- 1:27:59Speaker 5: just leave? Right?
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:28:00Speaker 5: Because the producers are like, all right, well, fine. The
- 1:28:03Speaker 5: executives are like, we're going to fucking sit here and
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: we're going to have this entire production wait for them.
- 1:28:08Speaker 5: And so let's let all these other ladies get furious
- 1:28:10Speaker 5: with her.
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: Oh, OK.
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: And so.
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: So, yeah.
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: So let's make it a big moment of the story. Right.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: You know, when Lisa Barlow was. OK, so Lisa Barlow
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: was late in Ultimate Girls Trip and they're like, we're
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: going to miss our flight. I mean, would they really
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: come close to missing a flight? Well, how would they
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: rebook all those people if they missed the flight? I mean,
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: what at what point? What at what point do they
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: leave the girl who's late?
- 1:28:33Speaker 5: If they were truly going to miss the flight, everyone
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: was truly going to miss the flight, they would have
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: left her. you know? Yeah. And they would have gotten
- 1:28:40Speaker 5: her there on her own, you know?
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: Yeah. So they probably have a time in their head
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: that they're like, this is the cutoff.
- 1:28:44Speaker 5: And then look, now there's times on cast trips. Like, look,
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: they always want the cast together. You want everyone to go.
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: You want everyone to go to the dinner. You want
- 1:28:53Speaker 5: everyone to go to the thing. So, because it's, you know,
- 1:28:55Speaker 5: you're a team. You want all the teams on, all
- 1:28:57Speaker 5: the players on the team. So- When it's like a
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: cash trip and it's like we're late, we're trying to
- 1:29:04Speaker 5: leave and someone's late, a lot of the time they
- 1:29:07Speaker 5: would make the big thing about it, make the stink.
- 1:29:09Speaker 5: But then if it's something that happens all the time,
- 1:29:11Speaker 5: like a Dorit or something, then sometimes we'll be like,
- 1:29:14Speaker 5: fuck it. We'll just have them go. We'll have like
- 1:29:17Speaker 5: another car take Dorit later or whatever. Because then it
- 1:29:20Speaker 5: gets to the point where it's like, okay, well, this
- 1:29:21Speaker 5: is not going to be an interesting story because it's
- 1:29:23Speaker 5: already happened seven times. So let's just fucking do it
- 1:29:25Speaker 5: and we shoot the dinner at 2 a.m. And that's
- 1:29:29Speaker 5: what they do. Most of the dinners you see on
- 1:29:31Speaker 5: a Beverly Hills cast trip are done at like 1
- 1:29:34Speaker 5: in the morning because of Dorit. Because it's like she
- 1:29:39Speaker 5: will make those things so late. It's wild.
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: This was– I mean I love all the behind the
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: scenes stuff that you've shared and your perspective on things
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: is great. And now you have your own podcast that
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: you are just– again, giving opinions of current shows, how

- 1:30:13Speaker 5: Apple Music, Amazon, all the things. And Yeah, we're going
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: to be doing I have some I'm going to be
- 1:30:19Speaker 5: interviewing some housewives, some former housewives.
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: Great.
- 1:30:22Speaker 5: That's coming up. And I've done some like collabs with
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: some other Bravo, you know, pages and stuff that are
- 1:30:31Speaker 5: coming out. So, yeah, it's been fun. The response has
- 1:30:34Speaker 5: been really cool and exciting.
