- 1:09Speaker 1: little bit about that? Yes? So. Samanta, who is a
- 1:13Speaker 1: freelance she's a journalist and arts journalist. She's a writer. UM,
- 1:17Speaker 1: she works in media. She works on film. I recently
- 1:20Speaker 1: worked with her on a project that UM I will
- 1:22Speaker 1: not disclose any information about mort come in the new year.
- 1:26Speaker 1: But Samanta actually Um sat down and interviewed us about
- 1:30Speaker 1: Local got A Radio, and specifically she was talking to
- 1:33Speaker 1: us about our work having to do with latinas and
- 1:36Speaker 1: sexual violence street harassment. She talked to us about, you know,
- 1:40Speaker 1: like our advocacy work, UM the Sounding Out guest episode
- 1:45Speaker 1: that we did about street harassment where so many of
- 1:47Speaker 1: our listeners you all submitted narratives and stories and talked
- 1:50Speaker 1: about your own experiences with street harassment. So it was
- 1:53Speaker 1: just another way for us to continue to talk about
- 1:55Speaker 1: the issue and has been really supportive of us. Yeah,
- 1:59Speaker 1: so I want to think also Yaha Simon for reaching
- 2:02Speaker 1: out to us about this feature along with Samantha. I'm
- 2:06Speaker 1: really happy with the way the article came out. I
- 2:08Speaker 1: love the article. I love the way they framed it
- 2:09Speaker 1: around sexual advocacy and like healing and survivorship and like
- 2:15Speaker 1: the work that we do with the podcast. I'm super
- 2:17Speaker 1: super happy with the way it came out. I love it.
- 2:19Speaker 1: It was very well written UM, So thank you Samantha
- 2:22Speaker 1: for the time you put into it and the detail
- 2:26Speaker 1: and Yarra an editor who is always thinking of us.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And of course our photo on the article was by
- 2:32Speaker 1: Zuli Yes Della Rose and then our jumpsuits are by
- 2:37Speaker 1: bad Dominica and outside of Kelly. Yeah, okay, well, I
- 2:41Speaker 1: am so happy that we're recording today. We have had
- 2:44Speaker 1: so many issues recording, uploading, technical difficult all over the places.
- 2:51Speaker 1: That's how you know Mercury is in retrograde right, because
- 2:54Speaker 1: communication is like blocked. Communication is blocked, like we're not able.
- 2:58Speaker 1: We've been trying to upload like an episode onto our
- 3:01Speaker 1: SoundCloud onto the audio boom for a week. It just
- 3:03Speaker 1: has not been happening. It won't. It says it's not
- 3:05Speaker 1: the right file, but it is. But it is like
- 3:07Speaker 1: an M three, an MP three. Yeah, fem Tex fan Tech,
- 3:11Speaker 1: you have problems too, Okay, okay, So without further ado,
- 3:17Speaker 1: Oh my god, drumroll please, I'm so freaking excited. Okay.
- 3:20Speaker 1: So we have the one and only, the incomparable, the
- 3:24Speaker 1: beautiful Vanessa. Hey girl. So Vanessa. If you all are
- 3:32Speaker 1: familiar with her, which I bet you are, she isn't
- 3:35Speaker 1: basically international now plus size model. She's represented by Natural
- 3:39Speaker 1: Models l A and has been featured by so many
- 3:42Speaker 1: brands such as Windsor, Wet Seal, Torrid and even Hot Topic.
- 3:49Speaker 1: She serves us some god princess look, I love it.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I fell in love with Vanessa on Instagram, where I'm
- 3:56Speaker 1: sure many many people have Essa. Can you introduce yourself
- 3:59Speaker 1: to our look motives to our listeners. Yes, hi everyone,
- 4:02Speaker 1: I'm I am a plus size model. Um yeah, I
- 4:07Speaker 1: represented by Atra Models, a l A. I just started
- 4:09Speaker 1: modeling about a year and a half ago. Um. Yeah,
- 4:12Speaker 1: I kind of just started posting on Instagram. I got
- 4:15Speaker 1: scouted and I love it. So can you talk a
- 4:23Speaker 1: little bit about Um, I mean, I guess Instagram as
- 4:26Speaker 1: a tool for you and the way you created your
- 4:29Speaker 1: modeling career through it. No, yeah, Um, Instagram was such
- 4:33Speaker 1: an important tool for me, not only to begin my career,
- 4:36Speaker 1: but as like personally, like I learned so much off
- 4:40Speaker 1: of social media and like, um all these like body
- 4:43Speaker 1: positivity like platforms. Right. Um, I definitely got inspired to
- 4:48Speaker 1: take that challenge onto myself and do that for myself.
- 4:51Speaker 1: You know. So I wanted to start posting pictures of
- 4:53Speaker 1: my body on Instagram before I was boodle selfie, Like
- 4:57Speaker 1: I could not take a picture of my body because
- 4:59Speaker 1: I just was not comfortable, um being photographed. Yeah up,
- 5:04Speaker 1: like nothing like nothing under because yeah, I was just
- 5:07Speaker 1: so self conscious. And then I was. I just it
- 5:10Speaker 1: was my first second year of college, for a second
- 5:13Speaker 1: year of college, and I was just so tired of
- 5:15Speaker 1: feeling like that, feeling so insecure, and I was like,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you know what, I'm just gonna fake it till I
- 5:20Speaker 1: make it, until I feel good and it works. You know.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Sometimes it's really hard to get to that place. But sometimes, yeah,
- 5:26Speaker 1: literally I had to fake it till I made it.
- 5:28Speaker 1: And now like I'm actually living that like positivity that
- 5:32Speaker 1: I always wanted, and yeah, that's what I do on
- 5:36Speaker 1: on Instagram. I I really want to share that with
- 5:38Speaker 1: like my body like people. I mean, I don't really
- 5:40Speaker 1: say that many things about body positivity. Um, I do
- 5:44Speaker 1: what I when I want to, and um, but just
- 5:46Speaker 1: with my images, people like just you just being there,
- 5:49Speaker 1: like that's inspiring and like, yeah, exactly existing And that's
- 5:52Speaker 1: that's what I love. That's what I love about Instagram.
- 5:54Speaker 1: That people get to see that and they're like, wait,
- 5:56Speaker 1: I can look like that too, I can dress up
- 5:58Speaker 1: like that. I can do that, and yeah, I love it.
- 6:02Speaker 1: We love well, you know, we love Instagram absolutely, and
- 6:06Speaker 1: I feel like there's I think that women are really
- 6:09Speaker 1: revolutionizing how people use Instagram, Like I think of the
- 6:13Speaker 1: people in in our circles, the creatives that we know
- 6:15Speaker 1: who are really just like using Instagram for two further
- 6:19Speaker 1: their careers from whether there are are mostly more headed yeah, right,
- 6:22Speaker 1: Like especially if we think of like Latino Instagram, Yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 1: run it, the ladies, ladies, the queers. Yeah. And I
- 6:31Speaker 1: feel like there's something about like also being vulnerable on Instagram, right,
- 6:35Speaker 1: because it could be like boodle lamb right one day,
- 6:38Speaker 1: but then the next day it's like you're having a
- 6:40Speaker 1: bad day and you share it with people and then
- 6:43Speaker 1: they're like, you know what, I'm having a bad day too,
- 6:45Speaker 1: or I went through that. Also, thank you for sharing
- 6:47Speaker 1: your journey with us. I know I'm not alone, and
- 6:49Speaker 1: that's something that's really powerful. I think about Instagram when
- 6:52Speaker 1: folks get to share their vulnerability and so, like, have
- 6:56Speaker 1: you always wanted to model? Is that something that's newer
- 6:58Speaker 1: for you actually really knew? I think I started off,
- 7:02Speaker 1: like on Instagram, wanting to be like an emy way
- 7:05Speaker 1: you know, okay, em like I M way. But then
- 7:08Speaker 1: I was like, wait a minute, like this whole fashion thing.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I love it because when I was younger, I didn't
- 7:13Speaker 1: really get to explore fashion and style because I didn't
- 7:16Speaker 1: allow myself to do that because of my body, because
- 7:18Speaker 1: I was like, no, I can't wear that. I can't
- 7:20Speaker 1: you know, I can't dress a cute. I would just
- 7:22Speaker 1: wear like yeah, like really basic things. And then I
- 7:25Speaker 1: was like, no, I want to be cute from head
- 7:28Speaker 1: to toe. I want to get my I want to
- 7:29Speaker 1: get dressed up. I want to wear the what the
- 7:31Speaker 1: skinny girls are wearing. Like I don't want to exclude
- 7:33Speaker 1: myself from that, and I want to do it. And
- 7:35Speaker 1: so that was my my mission. My mission was to
- 7:37Speaker 1: like wear these things that I would see like skinny
- 7:39Speaker 1: girls doing, and I'm like, I'm going to do that too.
- 7:42Speaker 1: So like I wouldn't wear shorts, I couldn't wear in
- 7:44Speaker 1: the summer, like I'd be wearing jeans and sweatshirt because
- 7:47Speaker 1: like I didn't want to show my body. But um no,
- 7:50Speaker 1: Like I was like, I need to start changing that.
- 7:52Speaker 1: So I started challenging myself to wear shorts and then
- 7:54Speaker 1: to wear crop tops and little things like that. And
- 7:56Speaker 1: then I'm like I'm gonna put like I'm gonna put
- 7:58Speaker 1: it out there and yeah, so like all these pictures
- 8:01Speaker 1: like since the beginning, since I started that, like journey,
- 8:04Speaker 1: like it's all been documented on Instagram, like all the
- 8:07Speaker 1: photographs of the clothing that I felt I was like
- 8:09Speaker 1: so like scared to wear. Like I was like, I'm
- 8:11Speaker 1: just gonna do it all the way. I'm gonna put
- 8:12Speaker 1: it out there. So yeah, so Instagram is really like
- 8:15Speaker 1: an archive for you. Yeah, it really is. Yeah kind
- 8:18Speaker 1: of that's amazing. I love that. And I mean speaking
- 8:21Speaker 1: of your your journey, right, because you're saying about how
- 8:23Speaker 1: you would challenge yourself to post or to even wear
- 8:26Speaker 1: certain things, and then let alone posting it, I'm sure
- 8:28Speaker 1: is another thing. Right, And you have this beautiful photo
- 8:31Speaker 1: in a yellow bikini. Yes, and I know that that
- 8:34Speaker 1: was really that was a challenge for you. Was that
- 8:37Speaker 1: was a really big deal. It was a really big deal.
- 8:39Speaker 1: It was taken by my best friend Denny. Um. Yeah.
- 8:43Speaker 1: It was the very first bikini and it wasn't like
- 8:45Speaker 1: a Gordita bikini, you know, like the HIGHWAYSI bikini. No,
- 8:48Speaker 1: it was a full on little bikini target was Yeah,
- 8:55Speaker 1: and I loved it and I was like I'm gonna
- 8:57Speaker 1: do it. I'm gonna wear it and like yeah, and
- 8:59Speaker 1: I'm to shoot it like yeah, like I said, like
- 9:01Speaker 1: everything that. I was like, um, all those challenges that
- 9:03Speaker 1: I was doing, I was documenting it and posting it,
- 9:05Speaker 1: and that was a real one. Some people were like,
- 9:07Speaker 1: that's not the first time she's wearing a bikini, because
- 9:09Speaker 1: I had, like, you know, mentioned that was my very
- 9:11Speaker 1: first time, and I'm like, it actually really was my
- 9:13Speaker 1: first time wearing a bikini like that, and yeah, it
- 9:15Speaker 1: was really exciting and it was freaking liberating and I
- 9:18Speaker 1: love it and I'm just excited to wear more bikinis
- 9:20Speaker 1: in this smo Oh my god. The photo is very
- 9:23Speaker 1: sports illustrated. It is right, it's very sports illustrated. I'm
- 9:28Speaker 1: looking at it right now and I'm just like, damn,
- 9:30Speaker 1: it was beautiful. Thank you son out of that little bikini.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Thank you so much. I was like, Okay, yeah, can
- 9:39Speaker 1: you I'm really curious about this trip that you had
- 9:42Speaker 1: recently to Mahico. Oh okay, yeah, can you share a
- 9:45Speaker 1: little bit experience. Yeah. So that was my very first
- 9:48Speaker 1: experience being an international model. Yeah. So that was really
- 9:53Speaker 1: exciting and my very first job traveling, and it was
- 9:57Speaker 1: to Mexico. Like wow, it was had to be, you know,
- 10:00Speaker 1: I was meant to be so Um. I went to
- 10:02Speaker 1: a La Caada. It was beautiful. I just unfortunately didn't
- 10:05Speaker 1: get to travel that much, like and visit and you know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: sightsee because I was working all day. Um, but it
- 10:11Speaker 1: was just so great to be over there. I love
- 10:13Speaker 1: being in Mixico and I'm going to be in Mixico
- 10:15Speaker 1: in December too, so I'm super excited about that. Also.
- 10:20Speaker 1: That's amazing. So when you traveled, what like it was
- 10:23Speaker 1: for a photo shoot. Yeah, it was for a clothing company.
- 10:26Speaker 1: It was for a CEM Mexico and it was like
- 10:30Speaker 1: their fall campaign. Yeah. So I got to do video
- 10:34Speaker 1: and photo, which was really awesome. So I normally do
- 10:37Speaker 1: photo for the most part because I do like a calm,
- 10:39Speaker 1: which is like, you know, when you're shopping online, you'll
- 10:42Speaker 1: see me there. So I also did um, like their
- 10:44Speaker 1: promo videos and things like that. They're commercials. So that
- 10:47Speaker 1: was really really awesome. That was really exciting. Yeah, so
- 10:50Speaker 1: you were in Mexico and you were modeling in Mexico.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I have in your experiences modeling so far, are you
- 10:55Speaker 1: meeting a lot of other plus size women of color
- 10:58Speaker 1: who are also in the history and we're doing similar
- 11:01Speaker 1: work to you? You know what? Um? When I went there, UM,
- 11:04Speaker 1: it was a lot of wed thos o that line
- 11:06Speaker 1: doesn't really have that many like poc Um, So I
- 11:11Speaker 1: was kind of surprised if they like booked me because
- 11:14Speaker 1: I compared to their other models, they're very very very fair.
- 11:17Speaker 1: But um, I don't know, yeah they booked me, but
- 11:19Speaker 1: there was it was just like kids when I was
- 11:21Speaker 1: there and they were all like Rubio, So, um, that's interesting.
- 11:26Speaker 1: But when I'm here, um, in l A, I do
- 11:28Speaker 1: tend to see more people of color and like plus
- 11:30Speaker 1: plus models as well. Yeah m hm, And how's your family,
- 11:35Speaker 1: Like did your family support the modeling? Is it weird
- 11:37Speaker 1: for them? Like you know, my mom, I feel like
- 11:40Speaker 1: in the beginning she was like, yeah, I don't know
- 11:43Speaker 1: if it's really happening to dover thing And I'm like, mom,
- 11:46Speaker 1: like do you see me? Like I'm here and she's
- 11:48Speaker 1: like okay. Her friends like yeah, like and I think
- 12:00Speaker 1: I'm just going Sometimes our moms are our biggest fans,
- 12:08Speaker 1: which really I think a big part of radio our
- 12:11Speaker 1: mom's right for us cheerleaders. My mom when we had
- 12:14Speaker 1: our Army through video that came out, my mom was
- 12:16Speaker 1: like the same thing, like how do I like send
- 12:19Speaker 1: this to my friends? Like she wanted everybody to see
- 12:21Speaker 1: her daughter. You know, so that's amazing. I'm curious about
- 12:25Speaker 1: how you because you're a student, yes, how do you
- 12:30Speaker 1: balance your modeling career? Y'all? It's hard. It's hard. You know,
- 12:35Speaker 1: school is really hard. I've I've always struggled with school.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Like I'm not gonna be like wow, you know, so
- 12:39Speaker 1: you're not. It's hard. Okay, So it's taking a lot
- 12:43Speaker 1: of time to you know, figure it out and manage
- 12:45Speaker 1: my time. But um, I'm just I just I do
- 12:48Speaker 1: it because I have to do it, you know, Like
- 12:50Speaker 1: I want to do both. Like I for a while,
- 12:53Speaker 1: I was like, what if I have to stop school?
- 12:54Speaker 1: But no, like I had to keep going and something
- 12:56Speaker 1: that I sailed to do and like it's something that's
- 12:58Speaker 1: so important to me. I worked so hard and like
- 13:00Speaker 1: so many few people from where I come from get
- 13:03Speaker 1: to go to like um universities, and I was like, no,
- 13:05Speaker 1: I had to do this, and then UM modeling just
- 13:08Speaker 1: kind of happened, and um, yeah, I had to do both.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I have to finish both. They're both very very important
- 13:13Speaker 1: to me. What are you studying if you don't mind,
- 13:16Speaker 1: I'm double majoring in Chica. Next studies in Spanish. I
- 13:20Speaker 1: love it. I love what I'm studying. Um, I started
- 13:23Speaker 1: off as a comedy, didn't work out, but I think
- 13:26Speaker 1: it was it was just meant to be. I I
- 13:29Speaker 1: love the field that I'm studying. I think it's amazing.
- 13:31Speaker 1: It's just that I think that really connects with my
- 13:33Speaker 1: career now as a model, because it really it's what's
- 13:35Speaker 1: motivating me to create my presence and to make space
- 13:38Speaker 1: for myself and for women like me, you know. So
- 13:40Speaker 1: it's it's so important. It really ties in together. So yeah,
- 13:44Speaker 1: I love it. And I've learned so much like as
- 13:46Speaker 1: like a woman, as a woman of color, as that
- 13:48Speaker 1: you've got on. It's just it's like and then's something
- 13:51Speaker 1: that I never got to learn in high school because
- 13:53Speaker 1: you know, we don't really get to learn about our
- 13:54Speaker 1: people or are like um, especially like Mexican history, like
- 13:59Speaker 1: Mexicans in like the US, and that I hadn't really
- 14:03Speaker 1: heard any of that until I went to you see,
- 14:05Speaker 1: and yeah, I'm so glad. I'm so lucky that I
- 14:07Speaker 1: got to have the opportunity. Yeah, congratulations, thank you. That's
- 14:11Speaker 1: fabulous than you think. And it really resonates with me
- 14:13Speaker 1: about you know, struggling with school, like I think, like
- 14:17Speaker 1: I feel very obligated to continue with school, like I
- 14:20Speaker 1: don't really want to. Yeah, you know, like I'm applying
- 14:23Speaker 1: to her at school like very begrudgingly, like I don't
- 14:25Speaker 1: want to go, but I feel like I have to. Yeah,
- 14:28Speaker 1: it definitely looks like that. So I commend you, you know,
- 14:32Speaker 1: sticking it out and yeah, you too, what's amazing. You
- 14:35Speaker 1: know what I'm trying trying. I mean even like like you,
- 14:39Speaker 1: like your Mala said, like even though maybe you're doing
- 14:42Speaker 1: it be grudgingly, right, You're like, I have to write.
- 14:44Speaker 1: But I think going back to what you said about
- 14:46Speaker 1: carving out your own space and doing that in academia
- 14:49Speaker 1: and the institution is it makes it so much more rewarding.
- 14:53Speaker 1: It's annoying, but it's also necessary. It is really necessary. Yeah,
- 14:58Speaker 1: nowhere else can you get like, it's it's really important
- 15:01Speaker 1: that experience. Right. Well, I think that we can go
- 15:04Speaker 1: to a song break or belly ro and and and
- 15:12Speaker 1: and and and and and and and and and and
- 15:18Speaker 1: and and and and and and and and and and
- 15:26Speaker 1: belly rops and and send raw and and and rang
- 15:34Speaker 1: pattens and and and ummmmm from from from From From
- 15:46Speaker 1: From of It and share and we are back. That
- 15:56Speaker 1: was a great song. I love people same, I don't
- 15:59Speaker 1: know the party, don't have a good time. I love
- 16:02Speaker 1: him since yeah, Oh my god, the boat Lift was
- 16:07Speaker 1: the name of that early album. Oh yeah, back up,
- 16:13Speaker 1: come here Hello. That was my ship in middle school.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Grinding appropriate. Yes, absolutely, I love it, so thank you
- 16:30Speaker 1: for bringing that one. Speaking of music, you all recently
- 16:34Speaker 1: went and saw an l a local who's like really
- 16:37Speaker 1: blown up and made it. Becky G. We love yeah. Also,
- 16:44Speaker 1: we need to introduce we have a second guest on
- 16:46Speaker 1: the show, and this is like Vanessa is part of
- 16:49Speaker 1: a dynamic duo that everybody recognized. So we have Danny.
- 16:54Speaker 1: We have Danny, Vanessa's really good friend. Please introduce yourself. Hi, everyone,
- 16:59Speaker 1: I'm Danny Um Young Bona's best friend, her roommate within
- 17:03Speaker 1: roommates for like four years now, photographer and photographer, photographer, manager,
- 17:08Speaker 1: first friend, everything girls where she goes. I we love
- 17:14Speaker 1: your relationship. We do me too. We think these are
- 17:17Speaker 1: so cute and like we were saying very like Kim
- 17:20Speaker 1: Kardashian and Jonathan like, yeah, I love it, So you
- 17:25Speaker 1: did you too? Go to Becky G. Together, Okay, tell
- 17:28Speaker 1: us about it. Well, you actually started liking her like
- 17:33Speaker 1: around the same time. Yeah, we did. I feel like
- 17:35Speaker 1: I saw something on Tumbler, like I think I fell
- 17:37Speaker 1: like some sort of Latina page and they were like,
- 17:40Speaker 1: how come no one's hyping up aiky g like come on,
- 17:43Speaker 1: like let's support this Makana like Latina, like let's do it.
- 17:47Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah, she had only came out with
- 17:49Speaker 1: Shower at the time, but but then yeah, I was
- 17:53Speaker 1: like and then like we heard more songs. I'm just like,
- 17:56Speaker 1: she's adorable. She's from Inglewood. Yeah, he's just a good
- 18:00Speaker 1: and she's always representing and she just keeps it so real.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I love her. I got into her around Valentine's Day
- 18:05Speaker 1: when was like really big in my life. So good. Yeah,
- 18:10Speaker 1: she's a good time. And then yeah, like her Spanish
- 18:12Speaker 1: Bob's like they're so good, so good. Yeah, she's coming
- 18:15Speaker 1: out with the Spanish album, so I love she's crossing
- 18:17Speaker 1: over verse. Yeah, yeah, yes, I love she's doing that.
- 18:22Speaker 1: That's kind of the move right now. Though everybody's Spanish,
- 18:25Speaker 1: they are the Latin wave is It's really popular and
- 18:29Speaker 1: I've like taking Spanish classes this year and like I'm
- 18:32Speaker 1: always like, oh, like Spanish music is popping right now? Yes,
- 18:35Speaker 1: it is. It totally is like we see everyone doing it,
- 18:38Speaker 1: including yes, definitely including Justin, including melbas. Did you see that?
- 18:47Speaker 1: It was on Twitter? There was a video of him
- 18:49Speaker 1: in Hollywood off of where was he Western? In Santa
- 18:53Speaker 1: Monica at some mall and it was hilarious because this
- 18:56Speaker 1: video was like a local guy, like a Latino who
- 18:58Speaker 1: was like rapping MS teen in the video and he goes,
- 19:01Speaker 1: I can't believe it. Justin Bieber is here? Is here
- 19:05Speaker 1: on Western and sinamonicly? I think yes? And then you
- 19:09Speaker 1: see this guy talking to like the other hint there
- 19:11Speaker 1: He's like, yes, that'll Bieber, Yes, Oh my god, hilarious.
- 19:19Speaker 1: And then there was a joke they were like, oh,
- 19:21Speaker 1: Selena Gomez brought him to El Barrio. Girl's right, So
- 19:33Speaker 1: who else are we listening to? Like so Becky g
- 19:36Speaker 1: love her. Ariana Grande, we love her so much. She's
- 19:41Speaker 1: a cute minidep she is my white queen excellent. I
- 19:47Speaker 1: love her. Yes, she has vocals. I love her. We
- 19:51Speaker 1: love fifth Harmony, like the song y'all just played. Um
- 19:55Speaker 1: can I just say that normany like is out? Of
- 19:58Speaker 1: this world. She's beautiful. I love our mind's like, so's
- 20:01Speaker 1: a good dancer. I feel like that Sammy is going
- 20:04Speaker 1: to like disband very soon though, I hope, you know,
- 20:07Speaker 1: maybe I mean Camilla laughed and then like the other
- 20:10Speaker 1: girls are like also really good. People even said that
- 20:13Speaker 1: Camilla laughed. I don't, I don't know, hope, what is
- 20:15Speaker 1: the whole like Camilla drama? I don't know, but it
- 20:18Speaker 1: just maybe cosa there was like me between the girls,
- 20:21Speaker 1: let's just come on army a second. Honestly, Like I
- 20:29Speaker 1: like both of them. I feel like they're doing better separately.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Like the music. They're crazy. I enjoy like Fifth Harmony's
- 20:35Speaker 1: new album, and I'm enjoying the songs Camilla's coming out
- 20:38Speaker 1: with right now, so like, I feel like it was
- 20:39Speaker 1: for the best for the music. But ye, it does
- 20:42Speaker 1: suck everything exactly exactly. And I still want a girl group.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I love girl groups. I love yes and there's latiness
- 20:49Speaker 1: in the school group so that this is true. Hello, Yeah,
- 20:54Speaker 1: I'm like the last time there was like a real
- 20:56Speaker 1: girl group with like a Latina presence, I think of
- 20:59Speaker 1: like a yeah, yeah, I really can't remember that. I
- 21:05Speaker 1: think of another one. No, no, no Chea Girls, Yeah exactly.
- 21:14Speaker 1: I stabbed the Cheetah Girls. Yeah, were and the movies
- 21:22Speaker 1: were amazing. Yeah, the first one was the first second.
- 21:26Speaker 1: The second one was pretty good to the songs were cut,
- 21:28Speaker 1: but the first one. It was the second one that
- 21:32Speaker 1: was a fun one. I was my son who Olinda
- 21:35Speaker 1: came out? Yeah, yes, there. I used to around and
- 21:40Speaker 1: I think she is. I feel like she's I feel
- 21:43Speaker 1: like I saw something on YouTube. But yeah, I used
- 21:45Speaker 1: to love her so much. Did y'all watch Like a
- 21:47Speaker 1: Little Girl? No? It last when you were younger? Not
- 21:49Speaker 1: really like which one like like or like the anyone?
- 21:54Speaker 1: The ones I used to I don't know. There was
- 21:56Speaker 1: one that I was really into it. I was little
- 21:58Speaker 1: and it was called ban Cessa or something. Do you
- 22:00Speaker 1: remember that one? I'm not sure. There was long ago.
- 22:04Speaker 1: It was long ago, but I remember like they went off. Yeah,
- 22:06Speaker 1: they were good. I used to come home from kindermar Yeah. Watch.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I literally watched my no that my mid day We
- 22:14Speaker 1: start young. I'm currently devastated because my novel is ending
- 22:18Speaker 1: in about a week and I don't know what I'm
- 22:19Speaker 1: gonna do. It's okay. The cast is terrible. It's all white, Latino.
- 22:25Speaker 1: It's like there's like one like after Latino and it's
- 22:28Speaker 1: called and I'm so into it. Me and my mom
- 22:32Speaker 1: watched it every day. Where do they pay? It's on, Yes,
- 22:37Speaker 1: and I schedule my like evening outings around it, like
- 22:41Speaker 1: I can go but after my it's a really big
- 22:46Speaker 1: deal right now? Yea, what else are you all watching?
- 22:49Speaker 1: We watch a lot of in my house. Yes, it's
- 22:52Speaker 1: kind of like on a constant loop. I don't know how,
- 22:54Speaker 1: but it's like there's so many what we watched. You know,
- 23:00Speaker 1: there's that one show I don't know what it's called,
- 23:01Speaker 1: but it's like a reality one. And have you seen
- 23:04Speaker 1: the one that I think that like she comes out
- 23:05Speaker 1: on Twitter and she's like then and she's like, okay,
- 23:14Speaker 1: I've seen like a couple of episodes of that show,
- 23:16Speaker 1: Like I don't know if you've heard of but yeah,
- 23:17Speaker 1: it's like a reality like I like a housewife type
- 23:19Speaker 1: of and she's on it. Yeah, she's on it because
- 23:22Speaker 1: I've seen her all over the internet. I've seen her
- 23:25Speaker 1: videos and and stuff. But so is she that's where
- 23:27Speaker 1: she's She's a reality Yeah, I think I think that's
- 23:29Speaker 1: exactly where she's from. She's not from I don't think
- 23:33Speaker 1: she's so maybe actually maybe, but I know she's like
- 23:36Speaker 1: from a reality TV show and I've seen an episode.
- 23:40Speaker 1: They're good. I love reality TV. Yeah, I really love
- 23:43Speaker 1: reality to you know, it's it's it is, it is.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Going back to music, I'm curious how you'll feel about
- 23:50Speaker 1: Demi Lovato. Okay, I new album. I like work for
- 23:55Speaker 1: Getting the Confident Eras. Yeah. Um, I like her new
- 24:05Speaker 1: album personally, like I've listened to the whole thing, and
- 24:07Speaker 1: I like. I think she's very She's a vocalist. She
- 24:10Speaker 1: has vocals like you came out that. Before her music
- 24:15Speaker 1: never like I would go in and out like oh
- 24:17Speaker 1: like I like some songs, but I never liked her
- 24:19Speaker 1: as an artist. I think with this album, she like
- 24:22Speaker 1: won me over. Yeah, I feel like she's just really
- 24:25Speaker 1: come into herself and I like her. I didn't really
- 24:27Speaker 1: start paying attention to her, honestly, until she started talking
- 24:30Speaker 1: more about until. I think her music changed a lot.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Before I don't think she was really showing her vocal range. Gosh,
- 24:37Speaker 1: it was like more. I feel like it was more
- 24:39Speaker 1: poppy and it did give her the chance to release
- 24:41Speaker 1: sing but also like she also started talking more about
- 24:44Speaker 1: like her struggles with her eating disorder and stuff, and
- 24:47Speaker 1: that's when I started paying attention to her and her
- 24:49Speaker 1: mental health. To Zeh has documentary. I haven't, but it's
- 24:57Speaker 1: it's been on YouTube. It's good. Um oh, dang it
- 25:02Speaker 1: just documentary. We'll find Yeah, I need to see that.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I also need to see the Lady Gaga documentary on Netflix.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I haven't. The Demi Levado one is called simply complicated.
- 25:15Speaker 1: I do something with complicated. Yeah, I don't know if
- 25:18Speaker 1: you'all seen it's a like a me now on Twitter
- 25:21Speaker 1: where she's like I'm about to beat this bit up.
- 25:25Speaker 1: She's talking about the part where like she's like she
- 25:27Speaker 1: like sucked one of her dances because like they told
- 25:30Speaker 1: on her because she was, you know, doing drugs and
- 25:34Speaker 1: I don't know she told about she's up. Yeah. She's
- 25:38Speaker 1: from Texas. Yeah, I think I looked at that. Her
- 25:43Speaker 1: name is which is a strong name. It is. I
- 25:47Speaker 1: love that name. It's a great name. Yeah. I think
- 25:49Speaker 1: she's a Texan. Yeah, it's a don't mess with Texas.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I honestly love people from Texas. Everybody that I've met
- 25:57Speaker 1: from Texas who are have been people of color who
- 25:59Speaker 1: I been like Latinos whatever, Latino black have been so cool.
- 26:04Speaker 1: I like stand like in college. I don't know why,
- 26:07Speaker 1: but the majority of like Southwesterners, like Latinos were from Texas.
- 26:12Speaker 1: There were so many people from the Rio Grande Valley
- 26:14Speaker 1: and I don't know, I just think I love it.
- 26:16Speaker 1: I want to go to Houston. Yeah, I'd like to go.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I want to go. I want to do my dancing.
- 26:20Speaker 1: The Selena Pilgrimage. Yeah, there's a statue of her corpus
- 26:27Speaker 1: she and there was like the Selena boutique also in
- 26:32Speaker 1: San Antonio. So let's talk about dating. I don't know her, man,
- 26:38Speaker 1: so we don't know that You're not the only one.
- 26:43Speaker 1: It's rough out here each other. Yeah, we don't need
- 26:47Speaker 1: we don't need a man. We don't need man. No, seriously,
- 26:51Speaker 1: like there's nothing but trouble. It's hard of here. They
- 26:53Speaker 1: are they played too many games, honestly, right, honestly, Yeah,
- 27:05Speaker 1: it's we were so so we were talking like I
- 27:09Speaker 1: had an experience the other day, right, Um, I talked
- 27:12Speaker 1: about it on my Instagram story and I went out
- 27:15Speaker 1: in North Hollywood, right, And I'm trying to expand my horizon,
- 27:17Speaker 1: so like usually I am not really into white people romantically,
- 27:20Speaker 1: like I kind of stay away. I prefer people of color.
- 27:23Speaker 1: I just really do. I always have. But I was
- 27:25Speaker 1: like at this bar with my friend and this really
- 27:27Speaker 1: fine white man like came to talk to us, right,
- 27:30Speaker 1: and I'm like cool, like he's cute whatever. We're talking
- 27:34Speaker 1: and I said something about like many ship men are
- 27:37Speaker 1: trash blah blah blah, and this man took his hand,
- 27:40Speaker 1: his white hand, and he covered my mouth, like he
- 27:42Speaker 1: physically covered my mouth, and it was really fucking strange.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I'm very surprised at myself because I didn't get angry,
- 27:48Speaker 1: like I didn't yell at him, which usually I would.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I was very calm, and because I was with my
- 27:53Speaker 1: friend and she said something to him. But yeah, so
- 27:55Speaker 1: I was like, okay, I gave one white man a chance,
- 27:57Speaker 1: and look at what he knows. I get. Any I
- 28:05Speaker 1: had this experience and it was so funny because I
- 28:08Speaker 1: didn't date a white guy or anything, but I talked
- 28:10Speaker 1: to one for like a week, and literally as all
- 28:12Speaker 1: that could black, I remember this time period. Oh my god.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I was like, anyway, it was a dark period um
- 28:20Speaker 1: and so the so I had actually blocked this memory
- 28:22Speaker 1: out and yet yesterday. I think I texted MoMA and
- 28:25Speaker 1: was like, Mama, remember that time that I talked to
- 28:26Speaker 1: this white guy? And she was like, oh my god. Yeah,
- 28:29Speaker 1: Like I literally blocked it from my memory. Literally I
- 28:32Speaker 1: met this school. He was like bartending at my cousin's
- 28:35Speaker 1: bachelorette party, and he was like shirtless and he had
- 28:38Speaker 1: them do like all the games. I don't remember you
- 28:42Speaker 1: when you met it was shirtless, and he gave me
- 28:48Speaker 1: a shot of like vodka, like in like a dildo
- 28:53Speaker 1: put in my mouth. I listen. I'm very low key
- 29:03Speaker 1: about like, oh my god. Anyway, so of course at
- 29:10Speaker 1: the end he asked me for my number and I
- 29:12Speaker 1: gave it to him, obviously, So I gave it to him,
- 29:15Speaker 1: and we texted for a few days and he wanted
- 29:18Speaker 1: he kept trying to pick me up, but I'm like,
- 29:20Speaker 1: I don't know you. You're not picking me up from
- 29:22Speaker 1: my house, so I was like, I can meet you. Well,
- 29:24Speaker 1: wanted me to go to Glendale. I canceled. I was like,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I don't drive anywhere, and then I don't want to
- 29:30Speaker 1: pick me up, right, So anyway, so then I kind
- 29:33Speaker 1: of just like ghosted a little bit, and then maybe
- 29:36Speaker 1: another week went by and he calls me and he's
- 29:38Speaker 1: just like, oh, I wanted to see if you wanted
- 29:39Speaker 1: to go to Santa Monica. Like yeah, why are you
- 29:42Speaker 1: trying to make me druning books? Oh my god? So
- 29:45Speaker 1: I'm like no, like, I don't think I can go
- 29:47Speaker 1: out tonight. I have family stuff. And I was like, right, know.
- 29:52Speaker 1: It was like it was like nine o'clock and I
- 29:54Speaker 1: had a family party and he was like, oh, you're
- 29:56Speaker 1: not there yet, and I was like no, the parties
- 29:58Speaker 1: don't start until like ten. And I was like already
- 30:00Speaker 1: he already know, right. And then he's like, so what
- 30:03Speaker 1: do you do? So I tell him, like at the time,
- 30:05Speaker 1: I was working on a nonprofit. So he I tell
- 30:07Speaker 1: him like, oh, I'm a community organizer. I work with
- 30:09Speaker 1: like these residents and with this what we do. And
- 30:11Speaker 1: he was like, oh, wow, that's surprising, Like what did
- 30:15Speaker 1: he expect for you to say? He wanted you to
- 30:18Speaker 1: say that you were like a dentalist is exactly that's
- 30:20Speaker 1: literally what he wanted. Literally, I feel like that's what
- 30:22Speaker 1: he was expecting. I already know that's what they are
- 30:25Speaker 1: with us, and that's what when he said that's surprising,
- 30:28Speaker 1: I was like what does that mean? And he goes, oh, no,
- 30:31Speaker 1: I'm you know. And I had said like, oh, like
- 30:33Speaker 1: I do this, and I want to go here and
- 30:34Speaker 1: I want to do that, and you know, and this
- 30:37Speaker 1: fool was like leaving the Marines and wanted to become
- 30:39Speaker 1: like l app. Oh no no no no no no
- 30:42Speaker 1: no no no. My only dating advice to anybody ever
- 30:48Speaker 1: is don't date any cops. No, it's a bad idea.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Right after that, I ghosted, and then he texted me
- 30:57Speaker 1: like a week later saying that he really wanted to
- 31:00Speaker 1: take me out and really wanted to get to know
- 31:01Speaker 1: me because he thought I was really beautiful and that
- 31:04Speaker 1: I should have been given him a chance. Boo. It
- 31:08Speaker 1: was persisted. It was scary. He would call me and
- 31:11Speaker 1: I'd be like, I leave me alone. You only attracted
- 31:14Speaker 1: with him one time and he was pouring alcohol into
- 31:16Speaker 1: your mouth through dildo, so like, so I mean I
- 31:20Speaker 1: think that's like it wasn't very promising. I went out.
- 31:26Speaker 1: We went out this week on Thursday night because cat
- 31:28Speaker 1: Lazo has been here from out of town, and so
- 31:30Speaker 1: we went out to Association. They had like a hip
- 31:32Speaker 1: hop night, right, So like I talked to like a
- 31:34Speaker 1: bunch of guys. I don't know. I talked to a
- 31:36Speaker 1: bunch of guys. I exchanged a bunch of phone numbers.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I always do well at the association. You do well there.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I love it there. So one of the guys texted
- 31:45Speaker 1: me today and he was like, you know, oh blah
- 31:47Speaker 1: blah blah, we were supposed to hang out, And I said,
- 31:49Speaker 1: I don't recall making plans. And he goes, do you
- 31:53Speaker 1: remember who I was? Who I am? And I said, yeah,
- 31:56Speaker 1: like you like are a DJ. You were wearing a
- 31:57Speaker 1: striped shirt, you have a beard, your ball And he goes, yeah,
- 32:00Speaker 1: that's not me at all, definitely not me. You don't
- 32:05Speaker 1: remember me? And he goes, but what's your Instagram? So
- 32:09Speaker 1: I can follow you if you want to go out
- 32:10Speaker 1: to eat. At least somebody's taking you out for dinner.
- 32:16Speaker 1: I'm trying. That's a tail for another time or the
- 32:19Speaker 1: tail for now. I'm like, Okay, there's a situation with
- 32:22Speaker 1: dating these days where like there was a time where
- 32:26Speaker 1: men would take you out to dinner, and now they're
- 32:28Speaker 1: just trying to Netflix and chilly. They're like, what's your Snapchat?
- 32:32Speaker 1: What's your Instagram? Some men will not even ask you
- 32:34Speaker 1: for your phone number. They will just ask you for
- 32:36Speaker 1: your Instagram, your Snapchat. That's it. I'm like, what's wrong
- 32:39Speaker 1: with you? You You know? They're like, oh, I don't date.
- 32:42Speaker 1: I just like to hang out and get to know somebody.
- 32:44Speaker 1: I'm like, so what that means is you don't want
- 32:46Speaker 1: to spend any money. You're not gonna get dressed up,
- 32:48Speaker 1: You're not gonna put in any effort. You're not going
- 32:50Speaker 1: to take me out to eat. You want to chill.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Fuck you. I don't want to be your friends. I
- 32:54Speaker 1: have friends. Have enough friend That's literally my motto. I'm
- 32:57Speaker 1: just like, no, have so many friends, I can't even
- 33:01Speaker 1: keep coming more like I'm looking, I'm trying to get
- 33:04Speaker 1: booted up, not trying to just sleep friends. Honestly, and
- 33:11Speaker 1: in l A especially, I feel like it's a waste
- 33:13Speaker 1: less Yeah. No, it's so funny because not really dating,
- 33:18Speaker 1: but you know, kind of on topic. Um, we like
- 33:22Speaker 1: go to a lot of like queer clubs and stuff,
- 33:24Speaker 1: and like like I have my group of queer friends
- 33:26Speaker 1: and von is like our token ally but tell me
- 33:31Speaker 1: why she always find like a man always comes and
- 33:35Speaker 1: asked her to dance. But then me and like my
- 33:37Speaker 1: other queer friends, like, we're just I'm just there's a
- 33:40Speaker 1: lot of straight guys. They go hunting for the straight
- 33:46Speaker 1: that are there, yes, that are there with their queer friends,
- 33:49Speaker 1: And I'm just like what, Like me and my friend
- 33:51Speaker 1: are like Venus canceled every time she gets asked to dance,
- 33:56Speaker 1: and we're just there isn't gonna circle. When I was young,
- 33:59Speaker 1: I used to we I used to go to this
- 34:02Speaker 1: eighteen plus club called Tiger Heat, but he has gone
- 34:07Speaker 1: to I'm not going to stay one because I'm not
- 34:09Speaker 1: trying to get that by the queers. I was like,
- 34:13Speaker 1: I'm a teen. That was my ship back in the day.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Baby queer. Yes, And I loved it because they would
- 34:19Speaker 1: always have like what Destiny's Child night, Goga night, telling
- 34:24Speaker 1: Roland night also, but they were always like way older,
- 34:30Speaker 1: like weird men. There always there's always, like any any
- 34:35Speaker 1: queer pla club or bar you go to, there's always
- 34:38Speaker 1: like that straight guy looking hunting for that by himself.
- 34:43Speaker 1: I'm just so gross of what tell us No I
- 34:48Speaker 1: dated someone remember that would go out and about alone.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Remember it was very weird, kind of like red flat.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I was like, where did you who did you go with?
- 34:56Speaker 1: And he was like, oh, I want by myself to
- 34:58Speaker 1: just check out the event. And I was like, see,
- 35:01Speaker 1: I think there's one thing, like Okay, Like I have
- 35:03Speaker 1: a friend who she's like super independent. She likes to
- 35:06Speaker 1: travel and she'll travel to different countries by herself, and
- 35:09Speaker 1: she'll like go to a bar way different. That's one thing, right,
- 35:14Speaker 1: That's one thing like where you have the confidence to
- 35:16Speaker 1: be like I'm just gonna go to a bar and
- 35:18Speaker 1: just I'm gonna go by myself and grab a drink
- 35:20Speaker 1: and if I talk to people at the bar, that's cool,
- 35:22Speaker 1: you know. And then it's another thing to be like
- 35:24Speaker 1: a man who's constantly going to party by yourself, like
- 35:27Speaker 1: a clubs, Like why what are you doing? It's creepy, right,
- 35:32Speaker 1: don't do creepy. Don't do that. Just stay home. Just
- 35:35Speaker 1: stay home an adult, stay home a lot of beer.
- 35:39Speaker 1: I need to stay home. I think that if you
- 35:41Speaker 1: have a freaking like wife and life partner, stay home
- 35:45Speaker 1: to take your wife out, leave her singles alone, leave
- 35:49Speaker 1: room for the single, get out of my way. Yes.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Do you do you all ever date people who follow
- 35:57Speaker 1: you off of Instagram or hang you know? Do you
- 36:00Speaker 1: have a policy? Do you have a rule. How do
- 36:03Speaker 1: you handle that? Instagram is almost like a dating app
- 36:06Speaker 1: basically a dating app. Yeah, I dated anyone, like through Instagram,
- 36:13Speaker 1: but I've you know, hung out with people, but I
- 36:17Speaker 1: just coming notes. Yeah yeah they haven't. They did, never
- 36:21Speaker 1: went anywhere. So yeah, part of me. I was having
- 36:24Speaker 1: this conversation with my friend Monica actually the other day
- 36:27Speaker 1: about like, Okay, so let's say somebody follows you on
- 36:30Speaker 1: your Instagram. We put a lot of information on our
- 36:32Speaker 1: Instagram about our thoughts, our opinions, are politics, how we
- 36:36Speaker 1: spend our time. So I was like, yeah, like I
- 36:38Speaker 1: saw this guy and he did all these things and
- 36:40Speaker 1: he was doing everything right, and he was so nice
- 36:42Speaker 1: and he was so great. And Monica was like, Okay,
- 36:45Speaker 1: but is he only doing this stuff because he knows
- 36:47Speaker 1: how you think because he follows your Instagram? You know?
- 36:50Speaker 1: So is this real or is it just like he's
- 36:53Speaker 1: catering to what he's seen on your I G And
- 36:55Speaker 1: I'm like, oh my god, that's awful. That's scary. Do
- 37:00Speaker 1: you do you have to think about that? Now? You
- 37:01Speaker 1: have to think about they have they have an inside. Yeah,
- 37:05Speaker 1: I wouldn't have him about them. Oh, let's talk about this.
- 37:10Speaker 1: M no you honestly, like my d ms are funky.
- 37:17Speaker 1: They're like a bunch of sagnic's Like I'm like, it's
- 37:21Speaker 1: so cross when it's so freaking girls, and the other
- 37:25Speaker 1: day like a man like he's like, um, yeah, I
- 37:29Speaker 1: keep you know what about what's up to make it shut? Yea,
- 37:36Speaker 1: let you drop. That's for when you go on vacation
- 37:44Speaker 1: and you're trying to mess around on vacation. That's what
- 37:46Speaker 1: what's happened for. Oh my god, that's true. I have literally,
- 37:50Speaker 1: like while traveling, I've downloaded what'sapp just for vacation and
- 37:53Speaker 1: then gotten rid of it. The second I come home,
- 37:55Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't need this anymore. I used to
- 37:57Speaker 1: have to talk to last three mouth yeah, So that's
- 38:02Speaker 1: why I use it for. That's why you know, older
- 38:08Speaker 1: like Latino men are very bold in general they have
- 38:14Speaker 1: no children, and then the young ones not enough right,
- 38:23Speaker 1: And I was too shy to say like yeah, girl,
- 38:26Speaker 1: but I've gotten those. Yes, we've got we get those
- 38:30Speaker 1: sometimes like just say huh, like like some lately, like
- 38:35Speaker 1: the couple of times that I have been going out,
- 38:36Speaker 1: like I've asked guys out to dance, like I haven't
- 38:41Speaker 1: because otherwise they don't ask. They don't ask, they don't ask, Okay,
- 38:44Speaker 1: they do, let's talk about okay, let's talk about that. Okay.
- 38:46Speaker 1: So if you go out, you look cute, yeah, and
- 38:49Speaker 1: the men just stare yeah, like what are you doing?
- 38:51Speaker 1: And they're right there hanging out with their homies, like
- 38:53Speaker 1: are you going to ask someone out to dance or what?
- 38:55Speaker 1: And so yeah, like if I'm like dancing close to
- 38:58Speaker 1: someone like oh my, like like you know, but yeah,
- 39:04Speaker 1: it's because I hate waiting. I hate waiting for someone
- 39:07Speaker 1: to ask me to dance. Of course I can't. Frustrating
- 39:09Speaker 1: and sometimes I'm like, you know, you feel like sometimes
- 39:11Speaker 1: you can feel discouraged. Like sometimes I would go out,
- 39:13Speaker 1: you know, to the club and like no one asked
- 39:15Speaker 1: me how to dance, and like, I know, like and
- 39:20Speaker 1: like I would go because when I was younger, I
- 39:22Speaker 1: would go out with my sister to the club, like
- 39:24Speaker 1: to like the North Club. Like I don't know if
- 39:28Speaker 1: you've ever been bad, but yeah I went like a
- 39:30Speaker 1: couple of times and no one asked me to dance,
- 39:32Speaker 1: and I'm like, what are you thinking? What are you thinking?
- 39:35Speaker 1: But I was told I hope I heard that this
- 39:37Speaker 1: is a rule. I'm not sure if you've heard this,
- 39:39Speaker 1: but like you have to dance with at least one
- 39:41Speaker 1: ugly guy and even if you don't want to dance
- 39:42Speaker 1: with them, so that other guys will dance with you
- 39:44Speaker 1: because they need. It's like a snob so like that
- 39:48Speaker 1: they know that, Okay, she's down. Who's more of a
- 39:51Speaker 1: snob me for like not dancing with anybody or the
- 39:56Speaker 1: men for yeah no, yes, that's so bad. Yeah. But
- 40:01Speaker 1: my experience, and I've talked about this on my Instagram,
- 40:04Speaker 1: is that like when we go out, I always get ignored,
- 40:06Speaker 1: Like I never get a problem Latinos. By Latinos trying
- 40:10Speaker 1: to approach me, it is a miracle. It is afraid.
- 40:13Speaker 1: If a Latino approaches me, I always do well with
- 40:16Speaker 1: black eyes. They are not afraid to come up and
- 40:18Speaker 1: say hi, and they're very polite and they're nice and
- 40:21Speaker 1: they're like, oh you want to drink, Yeah, they'll talk.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I haven't had a problem, but with Latinos, I'm like, listen,
- 40:28Speaker 1: if our entire race dies out, like if all Latinos die,
- 40:31Speaker 1: those check, I don't know what's going on. I think
- 40:35Speaker 1: I was telling my mom. I was like, they don't
- 40:37Speaker 1: approach me. They don't know. They don't like me. I
- 40:39Speaker 1: don't know what to tell you. They're not assertive. Yeah,
- 40:42Speaker 1: it's not about us. It's not us. Of course, we're
- 40:46Speaker 1: not a problem. No, it's them. We're perfect. Recognize that
- 40:51Speaker 1: I'm perfect. I'm like hard here, I'm like, are they broke? Yeah,
- 40:58Speaker 1: that's why met them too. But it's different for us.
- 41:07Speaker 1: It's okay if we're broke. It's okay if I'm broke. Right,
- 41:12Speaker 1: you're not the one buying the drink. Yeah. So anyways,
- 41:19Speaker 1: I think we have one more song we did I mean,
- 41:22Speaker 1: did we have any other announcements or like things we
- 41:24Speaker 1: wanted to talk about with Vanessa and Danny while we
- 41:27Speaker 1: have them. Well, it's the end of the year. It's
- 41:30Speaker 1: the end of the year. It is our last this
- 41:34Speaker 1: is our last episode. We're happy in a cute way.
- 41:41Speaker 1: I agree. So let's let's talk about if you have
- 41:45Speaker 1: have you been doing any reflections or thinking about your
- 41:47Speaker 1: seventeen I know people do their top memories and they're
- 41:50Speaker 1: what they've done. Have you guys been doing any of that?
- 41:53Speaker 1: I have, like all year, what I've been learning a lot?
- 41:58Speaker 1: You know, um, especially like because I'm you know, finishing
- 42:02Speaker 1: school and I'm just like, oh my god, life is scary.
- 42:05Speaker 1: What's gonna happen after? So I've just been thinking a
- 42:07Speaker 1: lot about that. I feel like I was really worried,
- 42:09Speaker 1: you know, you know, you get like a lot of anxiety.
- 42:11Speaker 1: I feel like when like that's coming to an endy
- 42:13Speaker 1: like what's kind of happened with the rest of my life?
- 42:15Speaker 1: So like I've been really worried about my career because
- 42:18Speaker 1: it's like, um, you know, anything can happened, like I
- 42:21Speaker 1: could either. Yeah, Like I obviously I really want to grow,
- 42:24Speaker 1: and so that's what I'm just so excited for a
- 42:27Speaker 1: fresh start and to keep going and to keep going
- 42:30Speaker 1: up and just to keep working. Yeah, amazing, to keep growing.
- 42:34Speaker 1: That's just I'm ready. I'm ready for it. Yeah. This
- 42:38Speaker 1: past month, I've done so much like reflecting on what
- 42:41Speaker 1: this year, Um, what's happened this year? This year has
- 42:44Speaker 1: been I feel like really hard for me. I know
- 42:46Speaker 1: a lot of other people can relate, but there's just
- 42:49Speaker 1: been so much like emotions that I felt a lot
- 42:53Speaker 1: of more pain than usual. Um, but also of course,
- 42:58Speaker 1: you know, a lot of happiness this year. I came
- 43:01Speaker 1: out to my mom and like my family, so it
- 43:04Speaker 1: was so awesome. Um that experience was like something I
- 43:08Speaker 1: was like dealing with for a while. But that like
- 43:11Speaker 1: who it feels so great. But just other issues I've had,
- 43:15Speaker 1: like with my family, my friends, like personally, like I've
- 43:18Speaker 1: just gone through a lot. But I'm really excited for
- 43:21Speaker 1: like the new year to like get a new star
- 43:24Speaker 1: and see like also what I'm going to create in
- 43:26Speaker 1: the new year, because this year I've been very like
- 43:28Speaker 1: I've had a block when it comes to creating art
- 43:30Speaker 1: and stuff with my photography and stuff like that. So hopefully,
- 43:34Speaker 1: like the new year like new energy. Just you know,
- 43:37Speaker 1: I hope like really good things. I have a good feeling.
- 43:40Speaker 1: I say that every year, but I'm still going to
- 43:43Speaker 1: stay hopeful because absolutely yeah. I mean I think, like
- 43:48Speaker 1: the photography that I've seen of you, like a Vanessa
- 43:51Speaker 1: is so good, Like I'm so lucky. She's my news.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Honestly I have I don't do photography a lot right now,
- 44:02Speaker 1: but I like the way I keep up with it
- 44:04Speaker 1: is like I helped her, like with her Instagram. So
- 44:06Speaker 1: like on Instagram, if you see any photography where a
- 44:09Speaker 1: photographer is not tags like but um, yeah, like I'll
- 44:15Speaker 1: just take it like with my iPhone or something. I
- 44:16Speaker 1: don't always take on my camera, but like that's what
- 44:18Speaker 1: keeps me. Like, Okay, I'm still like taking photos. He
- 44:22Speaker 1: comes to that iPhone too. Yes, yes I do, but
- 44:28Speaker 1: it's not the best. I'm not a photographer artist Sea
- 44:35Speaker 1: she's she's totally a model. She's not very We all
- 44:38Speaker 1: have our yeah, because like the other day when we
- 44:43Speaker 1: went to the Becky g concert, I took some photos
- 44:45Speaker 1: of her, you know, on the for the ground. It
- 44:48Speaker 1: was popping. The photos were popping, and then I'm like, okay,
- 44:51Speaker 1: take some of me. They all came up. I was like,
- 44:55Speaker 1: I was like, what is this? But I was just like,
- 45:00Speaker 1: I guess some have it sometimes that everyone has doing
- 45:04Speaker 1: some shade. But yeah, that's okay. I still love it.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Oh well, you two are so cute. I love your friendship.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Keep going, keep doing what you do with your friendship. Yes,
- 45:17Speaker 1: Like honestly, like we've you know, seen you on Instagram.
- 45:22Speaker 1: We've and I know you because, um, because you you
- 45:25Speaker 1: were in my class, were an alumni from my school.
- 45:30Speaker 1: But I actually didn't meet you when you went there, No, no,
- 45:35Speaker 1: but I know about you after um. But yeah, and
- 45:39Speaker 1: so like we've been like seeing y'all for a while
- 45:42Speaker 1: doing your thing, and like I was like, I want
- 45:44Speaker 1: like hopefully like we get to go on the show
- 45:46Speaker 1: one day, so like here is it's like feels like
- 45:50Speaker 1: full circle, like everything's coming around. Yeah. I've definitely been like, oh,
- 45:55Speaker 1: I hope like they get to like do we get
- 45:57Speaker 1: to do go on their podcast, because like honestly we've
- 45:59Speaker 1: been doing it. You know, thank you so much. You
- 46:08Speaker 1: know what's funny because sometimes I think we feel like, oh,
- 46:11Speaker 1: you know, we don't know, like we don't want to
- 46:12Speaker 1: bother anybody, and we don't know if people are busy,
- 46:14Speaker 1: like we still have that, you know, like I was
- 46:18Speaker 1: asking all the worst someone can say is I'm busy,
- 46:21Speaker 1: And yeah, thank you for likely coming on here and
- 46:25Speaker 1: talking to us and taking time. I had a lot
- 46:28Speaker 1: of fun. It's so funny we try. Yeah, Well, this
- 46:36Speaker 1: has been another radio last one of seventeen. Shout out
- 46:41Speaker 1: to all of our locomotives, all of our new listeners
- 46:45Speaker 1: that have tuned in, that have followed us our day
- 46:48Speaker 1: one day one, our guests, thank you so much for
- 46:52Speaker 1: being here so much, and you know, like let's let's
- 46:57Speaker 1: look forward to a good new year and mean like
- 47:01Speaker 1: blowing blessing. Yeah, let's do it. May your your life
- 47:06Speaker 1: be blessed, May your pockets be blessed. Everything all right. Also,
- 47:12Speaker 1: I'm trying to think last last year, our motto was
- 47:17Speaker 1: had was dumped them. We need I have a friend
- 47:22Speaker 1: named Edgar shout out. But he's like, he's like, twenty
- 47:26Speaker 1: eighteen is that year of getting coved something. He's spoking
- 47:31Speaker 1: it to existence. We'll see, we'll see. But low key,
- 47:34Speaker 1: I'm I'm still not ready for relationships, hopefully like the
- 47:37Speaker 1: end of Yeah, like because no, I'm still not ready.
- 47:43Speaker 1: We have moves to make. We talk a lot of ship,
- 47:46Speaker 1: but honestly, relationships can really bog you down. But I
- 47:49Speaker 1: don't even know if I need to finish school. I
- 47:53Speaker 1: have so many others. Yeah, I just want attention. I
- 47:57Speaker 1: just go to text me, you know me, damn me
- 48:02Speaker 1: if I need food anyways, Oh no, no, no, Ineen.
- 48:07Speaker 1: What I'm learning is that like we are not chasing
- 48:10Speaker 1: men with cash, We're chasing men with bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
- 48:15Speaker 1: That's the new way for bitcoin investments only. Thank you
- 48:21Speaker 1: for tuning in to another cuppy, the Little Brown Girl,
- 48:23Speaker 1: Our Besitas
