- 00;00;00;02 - 00;00;12;10 Speaker 1 Space is terrifying. It's just that, you know, the thesis of all these movies is space is terrifying. But below you lies cthulu. So good luck. 00;00;12;13 - 00;00;18;18 Speaker 2 00;00;18;20 - 00;00;27;18 Speaker 2 00;00;27;20 - 00;00;53;27 Speaker 2 Hello. Welcome to Film Curious Ashley here. And I'm joined by Pete this morning. Last week we chatted about Project Hail Mary and The Martian came out a bit as a comparison, and that is pretty obvious why. But if you don't know what, it's because, it's based on, one of the novels by the same writer, and we are, they actually know, grab the the writer of The Martian for Project Hail Mary, Drew Goddard. 00;00;53;27 - 00;01;18;08 Speaker 2 So, same screenwriter. And obviously it's the same kind of basic story sci fi adventure about roars around, botanist, astronaut stranded on Mars when a mission goes wrong and he has to claw for survival while he figures out a way to make contact with Earth for a rescue. So it's like those are pretty obvious similarities as to why a comparison would come up between the two. 00;01;18;11 - 00;01;41;02 Speaker 2 The Martian now is like, was it 2015? Wow. So it was 27 years ago. Yeah. Yeah. And directed by, you know, the legend Ridley Scott. And you can kind of see how perfectly done this film is. Like you can see how deftly he just the, the movement of the film, the storytelling of it. It's just smooth. 00;01;41;05 - 00;01;49;05 Speaker 2 I don't feel like we hit any like road bumps and I, I think that this just shows how good Scott is at his craft. 00;01;49;08 - 00;02;15;11 Speaker 1 It's such a fast two hours and 24 and it's listed at 224, and I've never felt that this movie's long. It just feels. No, it has really just a great, real snappy pace. And I think the biggest difference, you know, because there are so many lines that you could draw between this and Hail Mary, but it's the Matt Damon's character in The Martian. 00;02;15;13 - 00;02;36;14 Speaker 1 He's aware that he can he's he's he feels confident that he can figure it out. You know, like, that's the only option that he sees. Like, I got to figure this out and I enjoy watching him puzzle box his way out of the that's the joy of that movie for me is this puzzle box of how do we get them home? 00;02;36;16 - 00;02;41;18 Speaker 1 Yeah, that's always been my favorite bit of it. But yeah, yeah. 00;02;41;21 - 00;02;42;09 Speaker 2 And it yeah, it. 00;02;42;09 - 00;02;49;23 Speaker 1 Is charming white guy. Lost in space is right. You know Andy Weir's secret sauce right there, I guess. 00;02;49;25 - 00;03;15;09 Speaker 2 Yeah, mostly by himself. You know, with Project Hail Mary, you're having the flashbacks supplement the lack of, human interaction, whereas The Martian. Yes, I'll give you. I mean, it's spoiler, but not too big of a spoiler that he does make contact with Earth. Eventually. Like it is a good quarter into the movie, he makes contact with Earth. 00;03;15;11 - 00;03;40;29 Speaker 2 So that kind of supplements these two characters being totally stranded alone in space. And I, I realize rewatching The Martian that almost everybody is in it who is big at the time, like you've got. Yeah, you've got Jessica Chastain, obviously Matt Damon, so Kristen Wiig was surprising when on the rewatch where I was like, oh, wow, I don't know, I haven't really I forgot Kristen Wiig was in this. 00;03;40;29 - 00;03;48;00 Speaker 2 You've got Mackenzie Davis. Jeff Daniels. I'm gonna mess up his name. 00;03;48;02 - 00;03;52;21 Speaker 1 Try it. Come on. Sebastian. Stan. 00;03;52;24 - 00;04;01;14 Speaker 2 Yeah. Kate. Mara. Uh, I think it’s Chiwetel Ejiofor? 00;04;01;16 - 00;04;04;16 Speaker 1 If I'm saying correctly, Chiwetel Ejiofor. 00;04;04;19 - 00;04;08;15 Speaker 2 Yeah. And, and Donald Glover pops up, so. 00;04;08;20 - 00;04;10;03 Speaker 1 And Benedict Wong. 00;04;10;05 - 00;04;37;02 Speaker 2 Yeah. There's a stark difference, though, between these two films where, like, The Martian is so rooted, I feel in reality, the difference kind of really cuts off where I do feel like Project Hail Mary is more fantasy, like we are verging more on, this fantasy film, when we hit meeting the Alien, Rocky is a very fantastical, character. 00;04;37;04 - 00;04;52;18 Speaker 2 Yeah. So I think that's kind of obviously a lot of similarities, but I think that Project Hail Mary does feel more like I'm taking a totally out of world journey. I don't know if you feel the same, 00;04;52;20 - 00;05;23;07 Speaker 1 Or, you know, Hail Mary feels more fantastical sci fi because, you know, you see an alien, you know, that's that's a kind of like a line in the sand, right? You know, we get to that point where the science and the reality behind The Martian could be utter horseshit, but I don't know if they could say nothing accurate, and I would have no idea outside of the fact that there's no air on Mars, I'd be like, I know that, right? 00;05;23;09 - 00;05;44;20 Speaker 1 And I think the the film is smart in that sense, that it doesn't get you tied up and that it doesn't. It just you just know that, like, dangerous environments, you know, you could. Yeah, could really have it anywhere. And so with Hail Mary, which you could if you squint, you're like, oh, is this E.T. for people? 00;05;44;23 - 00;06;11;01 Speaker 1 It's just like a newer E.T., right? Like there's aspects of that film that, that, that lay in there where again, like Martian is a survivalist puzzle box film with a everyone has this, everyone has a good sense of humor. Like, there's almost every one in that cast from Damon Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels. They all have, Michael Pena. 00;06;11;03 - 00;06;15;05 Speaker 1 Almost everyone has like a line of comedy. 00;06;15;07 - 00;06;15;29 Speaker 2 Yeah. 00;06;16;02 - 00;06;37;18 Speaker 1 But it doesn't feel. It doesn't feel like hokey jokey. It's just, it's like an adult comedy with with tension. It's sick. I feel like it's kind of a unique movie nowadays to exist. Even though how similar it is to the to helmet punch of Hail Mary and it's dressings, it feels slightly more adult. 00;06;37;21 - 00;06;38;14 Speaker 2 Yeah. 00;06;38;16 - 00;06;50;13 Speaker 1 And that I, I do prefer it. You know, I don't give a shit about ranking things. If you were to ask me, like, you know. Oh, do you like this one or that one? I actually do prefer The Martian more. 00;06;50;16 - 00;07;25;00 Speaker 2 Rewatching it, I it's just I realize that they are such different films, right? Though, like the, you know, basic plot is the same basic. I mean, different in the earth's not in trouble. But, yeah, in The Martian, but they are even, like, esthetically, there at the cinematography. I feel like for The Martian is gorgeous, but he's not doing anything crazy with the camera, you know? 00;07;25;00 - 00;07;27;11 Speaker 2 Yeah. No. And I feel like you should. 00;07;27;11 - 00;07;27;26 Speaker 1 He. 00;07;27;29 - 00;07;30;13 Speaker 2 You don't need to. You don't need to. 00;07;30;15 - 00;07;31;01 Speaker 1 Camera. 00;07;31;03 - 00;07;56;18 Speaker 2 And, you know, does it when necessary to show like, basically, I think the only time there's like, a ton of camera movement is when they are up in space and the, the action is heightened. But Project Hail Mary, I think Greg Frazier's cinematography gets a little bit more playful. There's a lot of, like, camera spins, with the, zero gravity with Ryan Gosling. 00;07;56;18 - 00;08;24;14 Speaker 2 And so it's just, right. Like Project Hail Mary is a very playful film. Yeah. I feel like there's tension, but we always know it's going to be all right. Like, because of. I feel like the tone makes it like, I just feel like. Even, like when you're like, oh, no, what's going to happen to them? There's something in the back of your mind that goes, well, no, they're not going to let anything happen to, you know, Rocky. 00;08;24;14 - 00;08;46;10 Speaker 1 And that's fine. Also, I, I've seen a lot of people bring that their not the way not in the way that you're bringing it up, but I've seen people bring up this thing. They get very obsessed with. Oh well if no one dies, like, what are the stakes. Yeah. Like that's kind of insane because, you know, comics have worked for, you know, decades upon decades upon decades. 00;08;46;10 - 00;09;15;06 Speaker 1 Guess what? Superman maybe wants, but, like, he's going to make it through. Batman is going to figure shit out. Bruce Willis is going to live or die hard. They're going to go through the wringer to get their. And character deaths is not the only thing that that can create tension. I always feel that that really just seems so narrow minded, like in viewing of it. 00;09;15;06 - 00;09;37;21 Speaker 1 So like, yeah, I from for the second minute I sit down, I'm pretty sure Matt Damon's going to make it home, but it's the discovery of how, you know, and then as you, as you give comfort and things start going, well then, of course, you know, you take it away and you take away his crops, right? That's the biggest thing. 00;09;37;27 - 00;10;01;03 Speaker 1 Like when he loses the potatoes, that's our cue to be like, oh no, how is he going to get us? Not is he? I don't I don't really think you wonder. Like this. This movie ends with him dying like it doesn't give you that vibe. But how does he figure it out? You know, that's always. That's always so much fun for me when watching something like this. 00;10;01;05 - 00;10;31;17 Speaker 1 The Rube Goldberg of explanation as to, like how this how this guy who has to keep his shit together because they give Gosling has a companion. It may be alien, and it may be that they have to figure out how to how to communicate. But he does have a companion where Damon's only companion, you know, they they compress that time, but it's somebody that he's talking to that he hasn't hear response for, for like 30 minutes. 00;10;31;19 - 00;10;56;11 Speaker 1 So yeah, very, very different, vibe to it. But as you were saying with the with the camera, Scott's never been someone who'd like, fucks around, you know, with the camera, like, you know, he, he uses it effectively. And, you know, framing is always lovely, but it's not like he's going crazy. You know, he's he's a very, very controlled director. 00;10;56;13 - 00;11;19;26 Speaker 1 Yeah. And it's I always love watching, you know, whatever he catches visually. And Ridley Scott also his repertoire not usually comedy I thought I've always enjoyed the The Martian because it's one where he really nails the comedy like it's very dry and, you know, it's very dry. Funny. So I really, really enjoy it. 00;11;19;29 - 00;11;40;04 Speaker 2 Yeah, I don't think it's ever a bad thing if the the characters survive, and I don't think death has to be on the table for the stakes to be hired. You just think that. Yeah, you just need enough, points of overcoming something to feel like it was worth it. Or they, you know, the character earned it. I had a, a professor. 00;11;40;04 - 00;12;10;04 Speaker 2 Screenwriting professor. I tried one, and it was a writing for television course that I loved this advice. And he was like, your job basically is to dig your character a really deep hole and then figure out how to get them out of it like that is, you know, and I think it's like one of the, the best kind of advice and it applies to almost every story of like, yeah, the audience going, how are they going to get out of this one? 00;12;10;07 - 00;12;11;26 Speaker 1 That's all that matters. Yeah. 00;12;11;28 - 00;12;12;07 Speaker 2 Right. 00;12;12;07 - 00;12;13;28 Speaker 1 Yeah. That's that's what matters. 00;12;14;01 - 00;12;29;26 Speaker 2 Yeah. So yeah, I really enjoy bowls. But I think the rewatch of The Martian did show me that there's not a whole lot of similarities outside of the basic one. You know, the basic. Yeah. 00;12;29;28 - 00;12;48;25 Speaker 1 It could be a similar poster for both movies. Again, like Lone White Dude in Space, you know, because you want to hide maybe the facts, some of the things that happen in Hail Mary. But once you get past that, they kind of, you know, they they go into their own, their own areas, you know, threat to Earth. 00;12;48;27 - 00;13;09;25 Speaker 1 One of the big ones. Right? You know, it's, the will is saving the one as to trying to save the many, the Star Trek thing famously. But for some reason, I care more about the what I'm like I no, humanity's had its time. Oh. Don't go. You're good. 00;13;09;28 - 00;13;35;05 Speaker 2 I think for me, the I. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the flashback type structure of a story. Keeps me really engaged with the story. So I don't think one actually wins over the other for me, because I think of them so differently now. But yeah, I think maybe Project Hail Mary, I kind of just liked the flashback structure of it. 00;13;35;07 - 00;13;51;16 Speaker 2 Not that it that's the thing. The Martian doesn't need any flashbacks. We're moving linear, wandering linearly, and we don't we don't need that. So yeah, just the I don't know, I can't put one above the other, I guess. So I'm not going to go. You have to I'm not going to choose. 00;13;51;18 - 00;13;59;22 Speaker 1 No. We're sorry. Social media demands that you must. One sucks and the other is like perfect. 00;13;59;25 - 00;14;09;24 Speaker 2 Well, then for me, for going based off of that, no. Then I guess I, I guess my options then I guess it's The Martian is perfect. Really. 00;14;09;24 - 00;14;28;14 Speaker 1 Quick side note, just because, we bring him up, Ejiofor, I love him in this movie. He's, I, I'm just a big fan of him. I think, you know, I mean, Children of Men is one of the first times I remember seeing him in something. I'm sure there was something before that, but that's what I remember. 00;14;28;16 - 00;14;45;26 Speaker 1 Just really. He's he's coming out with this movie. It's like a liminal space movie from it's either neon or A24, but looks really good. Like he finds, like This Room or the series of rooms that are hidden in other rooms. 00;14;45;29 - 00;14;47;18 Speaker 2 I think that's what's really for this. 00;14;47;21 - 00;14;51;09 Speaker 1 Yeah, I could look it up really quick. But the thing is. 00;14;51;09 - 00;14;53;23 Speaker 2 It's like the room that you could get. 00;14;53;23 - 00;15;21;03 Speaker 1 Under underground or under a room or something like that. But he also, he doesn't narration for a book. Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. And there's a odd similarity in the two, one of my favorite audiobooks to listen to ever. And, and he reads it as the main character. So Piranesi just, you know, put that in off to the side. 00;15;21;05 - 00;15;35;26 Speaker 1 Yeah. Really lovely. A same author who did, Jonathan Strange and Doctor Norrell, which is another, really, really take that books. Very dry, very English. But I really like it. Sorry just to have that on my mind and totally doing. 00;15;35;28 - 00;15;41;16 Speaker 2 Maybe I should finish on some sort of note on The Martian so that we can wrap it up. 00;15;41;18 - 00;16;08;10 Speaker 1 I can't top David Bowie. It's for me, it's one of my favorite needle drops is when, Space Oddity is Space Man. Star man. There's a star. Man. Yeah. When that drops, that's just a feel good ass moment where everything is going. Well, like, everyone's working together. I think it's after that sequence when the potatoes pop or. 00;16;08;10 - 00;16;20;11 Speaker 1 No, no, he's he's getting ready to, like, get the hell out, I can't remember I don't remember where it happens in it, but absolute spectacular. Needle drop. Are you being haunted? 00;16;20;13 - 00;16;29;18 Speaker 2 I yeah, I think it's a woodpecker. Oh, it just sounded like three little, like, drills into, my roof. 00;16;29;20 - 00;16;38;09 Speaker 1 That's the problem. Yeah, actually, like, woodpeckers can do some actual damage. 00;16;38;12 - 00;16;48;05 Speaker 2 Yeah. No, I, I just heard, actually, Ryan, my husband just run out there. He's like, oh, fuck. No. 00;16;48;07 - 00;16;57;01 Speaker 1 He's. God knows I've survived the encounter. Please, Ryan, careful. Whatever you're doing. 00;16;57;04 - 00;17;02;10 Speaker 2 But no, Jesus was for sure he thought again with the woodpecker. 00;17;02;13 - 00;17;06;02 Speaker 1 The woodpecker is the one who pops the hole in the Martian. Let's see. 00;17;06;02 - 00;17;21;10 Speaker 2 That's the star. Okay. David Bowie. Yes, yes, yes. Yeah. I think that moment, I mean, yeah, maybe his crops are already growing. Maybe he's working on getting to the other side, and now he's made contact and he's like. 00;17;21;12 - 00;17;24;06 Speaker 1 I'm pretty sure. Yeah. It's like when things are going really well. 00;17;24;06 - 00;17;30;29 Speaker 2 Yeah, yeah. And they're figuring back on Earth. They're figuring out what to do. Yeah, something like that. 00;17;31;02 - 00;17;35;00 Speaker 1 Oh, also Nick, Nick Mohammed from, Ted Lasso. 00;17;35;03 - 00;17;36;00 Speaker 2 Oh yeah. 00;17;36;03 - 00;17;38;02 Speaker 1 He's one of the guys. 00;17;38;04 - 00;17;42;14 Speaker 2 And one of the jet engineer propeller engineers. Yeah. Like, yeah, everybody's in this movie. 00;17;42;17 - 00;17;43;29 Speaker 1 Yeah. 00;17;44;02 - 00;17;53;06 Speaker 2 But yeah, I mean, yeah, I thought the song was fitting and great, but unlike the rest of the movie, is all just disco, you know, it's. 00;17;53;12 - 00;17;54;01 Speaker 1 It's what you need. 00;17;54;01 - 00;18;05;23 Speaker 2 So. But yeah. No, it's great. I think it does a really good job of of lightning things up. But I did go. Bowie's not really disco like Starman, isn't it? A disc goes. 00;18;05;26 - 00;18;33;10 Speaker 1 No, but that's the thing is, that's his song. Yeah. And the disco music was her music. So, you know, Chastain's character's music. So you actually get, you know, a little bit of pulse, you know, you get his sequence is that's, you know, that's the album that he would put on for that character. And, the other is, you know, he has to just deal with, he has to do with what he's got. 00;18;33;13 - 00;18;52;06 Speaker 1 Right? So it kind of ties into the rest of the movie. He has to make do with what he has, which what he has is Lewis's, disco collection. But when he gets his own spotlight and he's doing his thing, he gets a David Bowie needle trap. Which is great. It's really good. I love the ending, too. 00;18;52;07 - 00;19;00;28 Speaker 1 When he's talking to the students. I really like that, you know, just to get you to solve one problem. 00;19;01;00 - 00;19;01;25 Speaker 2 Yeah. 00;19;01;27 - 00;19;26;01 Speaker 1 And that's it. And then you solve the next, and then you solve the next. The lesson being there's going to be another problem and you just no guarantee of victory. But you can try this. I like that because I don't like this modern era of call it toxic positivity, which of course, you really want something, you're going to get it. 00;19;26;01 - 00;19;30;28 Speaker 1 So that's not how that works. That's not how that works. 00;19;31;04 - 00;19;33;14 Speaker 2 Doesn't that just manifest the life? You. 00;19;33;15 - 00;19;37;02 Speaker 1 Yeah. Oh, I manifested it like, shut up. You didn't. 00;19;37;05 - 00;19;37;09 Speaker 2 Know. 00;19;37;13 - 00;19;43;07 Speaker 1 That's not that's not realistic. It's it's fine to try to tell yourself that, but, 00;19;43;10 - 00;19;44;28 Speaker 2 But you do have to teach your steps. 00;19;44;28 - 00;20;02;26 Speaker 1 Yeah, but you have to. That's the thing. Like, you have to try. You have to set yourself and concentrate and be like, okay, now I have to figure out what this how do I solve this problem? And, I've always really enjoyed that. They do a good job of he looks a little older in that scene, but he doesn't look like he's in makeup. 00;20;02;27 - 00;20;10;15 Speaker 1 You know, like he doesn't look like a makeup older scene. Yeah. There's like a cap at the end of Avengers. 00;20;10;17 - 00;20;15;21 Speaker 2 Can you imagine if that's how they ended? They're like, we're just going to frame old makeup on Damian. 00;20;15;22 - 00;20;16;20 Speaker 1 Oh, yeah. 00;20;16;22 - 00;20;20;15 Speaker 2 He's good. Yeah. Wavering wise voice. 00;20;20;17 - 00;20;41;09 Speaker 1 It's, you know, thinking about, like, there's so many movies in my in that I guess not recently because 12 years is not exactly recently, but I can think of some Martian. I think of gravity, I think of Project Hail Mary, and space is terrifying. It's just that's, you know, the thesis of all these movies is space is terrifying. 00;20;41;11 - 00;20;45;21 Speaker 1 But below you lies cthulu. So good luck. 00;20;45;23 - 00;21;06;15 Speaker 2 Yeah, well, I mean, that's I kind of had this conversation with Orion as we, we pause the movie for a moment and we were just like, astronauts are wild. Like they know. Yeah. And like, but they have that kind of confidence. It's because they're already doing the impossible, basically. Right. Like going up into space is kind of the impossible is the unimaginable. 00;21;06;15 - 00;21;25;19 Speaker 2 Right? Like where they are, what they're doing is already that. So like the confidence of of Matt Damon's character even like makes sense. You know, the confidence of all the, the astronauts when they go to rescue him. It makes sense to me because I'm like, they're already up in space. This is already like, how the hell did I get up here? 00;21;25;19 - 00;21;37;07 Speaker 2 Like how it's possible. You know, I still think space travel has that, like, wild. What kind of thing about it. I don't know when we would ever get comfortable with that because, yeah, it is terrifying. 00;21;37;09 - 00;21;42;16 Speaker 1 Right. Yeah. Well, yeah, we took such a big break of going up there. I don't know if that's anywhere soon. 00;21;42;18 - 00;22;02;15 Speaker 2 Right. Because the consistency isn't there. So I think like the novelty and the, the craziness of it is still there for me. But yeah. And then NASA definitely had like major, I don't want to say product placement, but like they desert the Martian like definitely was like they went all out. Everything has a NASA logo on it. 00;22;02;15 - 00;22;04;22 Speaker 1 There's they've got again like kills. 00;22;04;25 - 00;22;05;13 Speaker 2 Yeah. 00;22;05;15 - 00;22;08;03 Speaker 1 That's for good cause, you know. 00;22;08;05 - 00;22;08;23 Speaker 2 Yeah. 00;22;08;25 - 00;22;33;05 Speaker 1 When things go badly in space, you know, it's like because the thing was, you know, space travel is when something goes badly, usually that's only one other option that happens. Yeah. It's, you know, death of people. And that can that can shut down the whole thing for decades at a time. You know, after, you know, history is shown. 00;22;33;07 - 00;22;46;25 Speaker 1 So. Yeah, I mean, I, I think about it, you know, what an astronaut pulls off, like, if I travel to a foreign country and I find my train, I'm like, yes, master explorer. 00;22;46;27 - 00;22;47;12 Speaker 2 Right? 00;22;47;12 - 00;22;52;23 Speaker 1 You know, so, like, these folks are ungrateful actor. 00;22;52;23 - 00;22;53;09 Speaker 2 Yeah. 00;22;53;12 - 00;22;54;13 Speaker 1 Yeah. It's just. 00;22;54;13 - 00;22;56;08 Speaker 2 We actually how. 00;22;56;08 - 00;23;01;04 Speaker 1 They did nothingness like a science and a technically but you know. 00;23;01;06 - 00;23;21;22 Speaker 2 Then they have, you know, aerodynamics and stuff too. On top of whatever. Like he's a bot on top of whatever he needs to know about his spaceship. So yeah, again, like, I'm not smart enough to know the science if they got it right or not. I have no idea. But I'm going to assume that, like, astronauts are still have a very impressive resume. 00;23;21;25 - 00;23;23;18 Speaker 1 Yes they do. Yes. 00;23;23;20 - 00;23;39;19 Speaker 2 Anyway. But yeah, happy, happy that space movies have been successful and I'm I'm all in on the the NASA's stuff. I think it does really push the bounds of like what humanity can do and like calls to our inner, adventures. 00;23;39;21 - 00;24;01;21 Speaker 1 Yeah, I think I, I think I may have said on the previous episode, I apologize if I did. I think it was Ray Bradbury who when? Maybe after challenger or something, when there was talk of like, we're not going there anymore. And I believe it was Bradbury who said, that's the end of humanity, because you're not going to be able to survive here. 00;24;01;23 - 00;24;12;26 Speaker 1 So unless you know it, or humans can learn how to get the hell off the planet, that'll be the end of the story. Eventually. So yeah, that's the key to. 00;24;12;29 - 00;24;15;01 Speaker 1 Find somewhere else to ruin, I don't know. 00;24;15;07 - 00;24;17;05 Speaker 2 Oh, yeah. I'm, you know, sorry. We're starting. 00;24;17;05 - 00;24;18;26 Speaker 1 To think, like, maybe we shouldn't, you know. 00;24;18;29 - 00;24;43;26 Speaker 2 Or it is like a collaborative thing because, like, I, I did notice this similarity. And maybe it's a Andy Weir sort of thing is like Project Hail Mary is all nations coming together, trying to come up with a plan on how to save Earth? And The Martian is a whole team, of people trying to figure out how to get this man back to Earth. 00;24;43;26 - 00;24;52;07 Speaker 2 But also, you know, China pops up and was like, yes, we should help, you know, the United States to to get them. 00;24;52;09 - 00;24;55;20 Speaker 1 No, just that one man. Not all men at all. 00;24;55;22 - 00;24;57;05 Speaker 2 I just, I just it's. 00;24;57;05 - 00;24;59;18 Speaker 1 All men are in space. If you like. 00;24;59;20 - 00;25;15;09 Speaker 2 Yeah. It's like the we we do better together sort of thing. We can go further together. Yeah. But anyway. But yeah enjoyed enjoyed both. Enjoyed the rewatch. So if you guys haven't watched The Martian in a while, go out there, rewatch it. I think it's definitely worth multiple watches. 00;25;15;12 - 00;25;22;06 Speaker 1 And if you have a 4K capable equipment, get that 4K physical disk. It looks fantastic. 00;25;22;09 - 00;25;34;27 Speaker 2 I think I just have the Blu ray, transfer or maybe it is 4K. No, no, I might upload 4k, I don't know, I like grabbed it randomly because like, I was obsessed with this movie when it came out. So. 00;25;34;27 - 00;25;35;26 Speaker 1 Yeah, let's see that it. 00;25;35;26 - 00;25;42;23 Speaker 2 Was right. It was like an easy, you know, birthday gift or something like that. 00;25;42;25 - 00;25;43;17 Speaker 1 There you go. 00;25;43;20 - 00;26;01;17 Speaker 2 So yeah, I did have it on hand. Hey, guys.
