Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Government back home changing import rules to crack down on nangs.
- 0:03Speaker 1: You can still bring a nitrous oxide for whipping cream
- 0:06Speaker 1: should you need it, but you will need sign off
- 0:08Speaker 1: from the Director General of Health. Large canisters no clear use, well,
- 0:13Speaker 1: they'll be treated as a psychoactive substance. Carolyn Young Retailings
- 0:17Speaker 1: en with me this morning, Carolyn. Good morning Caro, Carolyn.
- 0:22Speaker 1: How will it work if you've got a caterer who
- 0:25Speaker 1: wants to buy this stuff? Do you need an approval
- 0:27Speaker 1: every time you bring it in or do you just
- 0:28Speaker 1: need one off?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Look, I would imagine that some of that detail will
- 0:33Speaker 2: come out shortly, but I would think that you would
- 0:36Speaker 2: probably have to get approval every time you look to
- 0:38Speaker 2: bring it in. And they have indicated that there is
- 0:40Speaker 2: no clear use for the larger canisters, so it'll only
- 0:44Speaker 2: be small canisters that people will be using. And to
- 0:47Speaker 2: be honest, there's not a lot of there's not significant
- 0:50Speaker 2: use of cannisters for whipping cream is used, but it's
- 0:54Speaker 2: not a big seller as such, and so this will
- 0:57Speaker 2: really make sure that it's clear for all retailers and consumers,
- 1:02Speaker 2: and it makes sure that our communities are going to
- 1:04Speaker 2: be safer. So we really applaud the work that Minister
- 1:08Speaker 2: Brown and Minister Mitchell have done to act on this
- 1:10Speaker 2: quite quickly.
- 1:11Speaker 1: So you reckon most of what we're bringing in is
- 1:13Speaker 1: probably for people having a good time or a bad
- 1:15Speaker 1: time and getting behind the behind the wheel of the
- 1:18Speaker 1: car for sure.
- 1:20Speaker 2: You know, when you think about the one that the
- 1:23Speaker 2: arrest that they made public a few like a month
- 1:26Speaker 2: or two ago and roasted where there was a retailer
- 1:29Speaker 2: who had three hundred large canisters, I mean, you're just
- 1:32Speaker 2: never going to sell that many to a caterer because
- 1:36Speaker 2: they're firsusly, they're not going to buy They're not going
- 1:39Speaker 2: to buy the gas from a convenience store, They're going
- 1:42Speaker 2: to be buying it from a wholesaler. So really thinking
- 1:45Speaker 2: about horses courses and the Minister Mitchell's are really clear
- 1:49Speaker 2: about the fact that there should be no need for
- 1:52Speaker 2: any small stores to be selling this product.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Carolyn, Good to have you on the show this morning.
- 1:56Speaker 1: As always, Caroen and Young Retailings Chief Executive.
