- 0:48Speaker 2: the end of last year. I got Ben Riley, what's
- 0:51Speaker 2: going on? My brother?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Sir?
- 0:52Speaker 2: You got your show in La tonight?
- 0:53Speaker 3: Yes, sir, Peppermint Club.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yes, sir, how's a man? I feel like you've since
- 0:58Speaker 2: I feel like you were here over a year ago.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I want to say, maybe two.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Years ago, three years ago, twenty three Damn I remember
- 1:05Speaker 1: because because I had toy with West Side Boogie in
- 1:08Speaker 1: Europe and it was right before I did that to
- 1:09Speaker 1: it time Fly.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, things have been going great for you, man.
- 1:14Speaker 2: How are you feeling just in general, like I feel
- 1:16Speaker 2: like you're finally starting to get the recognition the flowers
- 1:20Speaker 2: from a lot of like important people, like, like, how
- 1:22Speaker 2: are you feeling right now about everything?
- 1:23Speaker 3: I feel good?
- 1:24Speaker 1: You know, since my last time here, we kind of
- 1:28Speaker 1: like took a lot of time to reconfigure, you know,
- 1:32Speaker 1: in preparation for the album, so like label situations, all
- 1:35Speaker 1: type of things. So like it's been like a labor
- 1:38Speaker 1: of love but also like just like a real serious.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Journey for me.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 1: So like now I'm starting to, like, you know, we're
- 1:43Speaker 1: starting to get that momentum back going, starting to get
- 1:47Speaker 1: some good movement. The album's been you know, well received mostly,
- 1:50Speaker 1: so I feel great.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yeah, talk to me. What is your label situation? Are
- 1:54Speaker 2: you independent?
- 1:55Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:55Speaker 1: I'm independent? Okay, I'm independent. What I had to deal
- 1:58Speaker 1: with Sony, but it was a destroy deal. So I'm
- 2:00Speaker 1: still independent, right, but the situation was a little different.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Do you feel like I mean, obviously there's been all this, like,
- 2:10Speaker 2: you know, you've seen a lot of artists kind of
- 2:12Speaker 2: I guess no shoe fits all.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Yeah, no, rap shit, everybody path different is your?
- 2:19Speaker 2: You think your path is to stay as independent as
- 2:21Speaker 2: long as possible until like the right situation comes up.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Uh, That's that's my philosophy.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I would like to you know, retain ownership of what
- 2:31Speaker 1: I have and you know, curate my career the.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Way I want to do it.
- 2:36Speaker 1: But uh, you know, if the right situation comes along
- 2:40Speaker 1: and the terms really feel right for me and what
- 2:42Speaker 1: I what I want out of this, I'm not mad
- 2:45Speaker 1: at going that direction too.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Yeah. I just think the most important thing, too, is
- 2:48Speaker 2: for someone like you is to like have someone who
- 2:50Speaker 2: comes into the situation that gets the vision, that doesn't
- 2:52Speaker 2: want to funk with.
- 2:53Speaker 1: The vision exactly, and just empathize it, you know, throw
- 2:55Speaker 1: gasoline on it.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Not like hey man, we need you to do this
- 2:58Speaker 2: kind of song.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah no, no, yeah, I feel like, you know, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: I have a good team that like lets me just
- 3:04Speaker 1: be creative on my own and their input is very
- 3:06Speaker 1: like you know, very much, So like you know, how
- 3:08Speaker 1: do we amplithy what you're doing or add to it
- 3:10Speaker 1: rather than take away?
- 3:13Speaker 3: So like, yeah, just more pieces like that. I feel
- 3:15Speaker 3: like with like changed.
- 3:16Speaker 2: To there seems to be like this really dope movement
- 3:19Speaker 2: going on. You know, I had Marco plus on, I've
- 3:23Speaker 2: been talking with Chris Patrick for a minute. Obviously sinners
- 3:25Speaker 2: and credit my brothers shout out. Yeah, but there is
- 3:30Speaker 2: this like bubbling scene. I guess you could call it.
- 3:33Speaker 2: That's on the underground. Yeah, they don't know what the
- 3:37Speaker 2: underground means anymore.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting because they've been they've been saying it's
- 3:40Speaker 1: like a new class type of situation, which I like,
- 3:42Speaker 1: I fully fully accept for sure. But yeah, shout out Samarrow,
- 3:48Speaker 1: that's the homie. Shout out Chris and Marco. Those my brothers,
- 3:51Speaker 1: like we talked liuvin Vincent, we all talk like every day.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Those are my dogs. And shout out Overcast that's my
- 3:57Speaker 3: boy too.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I think I think we.
- 4:01Speaker 1: All have the capabilities of like doing like some amazing
- 4:04Speaker 1: that we already doing great stuff, but like just on
- 4:06Speaker 1: a larger scale. I could see it for everybody. It's
- 4:10Speaker 1: just we all got you know, we all got work

- 5:44Speaker 2: I was gonna say, I saw Jeremy say something that
- 5:47Speaker 2: there was this like group of a bunch of folks
- 5:49Speaker 2: getting together to put together. Ahaaa, you a part of that.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I don't know. Why are you getting shished over here?
- 5:55Speaker 2: The other white men already going to snitch? I saw
- 5:58Speaker 2: you in the background. When was there shout out? When
- 6:01Speaker 2: man shout out with man, Yeah, what are you guys doing?
- 6:05Speaker 2: You guys doing a Justice League type of fu is
- 6:07Speaker 2: it a project, a.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Song, so because it's not necessarily my thing? Are you
- 6:12Speaker 1: a part of I'm a part of something, but I can't.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I can't be the one that just.
- 6:16Speaker 2: When's a part of it too.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Maybe possibly she just be around you know when, you know,
- 6:21Speaker 1: when kicking in Atlanta with the rest of us.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Some times, yeah, shout out, shout out say when yeah, yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 3: that's my dog. Win is amazing bro.
- 6:30Speaker 2: So in theory, if you and a bunch of dope
- 6:32Speaker 2: rappers around your age group in class were to get together,
- 6:35Speaker 2: would you like to do a song with them or
- 6:37Speaker 2: do a whole project with them? You know, in a
- 6:39Speaker 2: hypothetical world that isn't real.
- 6:41Speaker 3: In the hypothetical world that isn't real.
- 6:43Speaker 1: If me and said artists, like you know, a Win
- 6:46Speaker 1: or whoever were to get together and like I don't know,
- 6:50Speaker 1: work on like a project or something, that would be cool,
- 6:52Speaker 1: but that hasn't happened.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Especially if like it was like, yo, let's do this
- 6:55Speaker 2: in like a weekend and see what in the week Yeah,
- 6:57Speaker 2: like that'd be crazy, Like yo, let's just see how
- 7:01Speaker 2: crazy it be.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Have Blue Leg cav hosted. You know what I'm saying,
- 7:06Speaker 1: that's all right? The man that aired you out over there.
- 7:10Speaker 2: He said everything you should definitely picked up on the mic. Hell. Yeah, yo,
- 7:20Speaker 2: so talk to me about uh, you know, for for
- 7:23Speaker 2: people who don't know, you know, I just dived into
- 7:26Speaker 2: your Rob Markman interview shot to Rob who else was
- 7:29Speaker 2: a part of wins team? So he I'm sure he
- 7:31Speaker 2: knows the goodies and I'm gonna I'm gonna that man
- 7:35Speaker 2: the genius. You are a huge comic book guy. If
- 7:38Speaker 2: anyone who's been paying attention to you or listens to you,
- 7:40Speaker 2: they would know that. Obviously your name is after Spider Man.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I want you to give me your top three Spider
- 7:45Speaker 2: Man movies.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Movies Okay, Spider Man two for sure, Toby Toby. Yes,
- 7:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna go into the Spider Verse. Yeah, the first one,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and then I'm gonna go damn the this is this
- 8:00Speaker 1: is bad because like Andrew is my favorite version of
- 8:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna go TASM one because I just really enjoy
- 8:08Speaker 1: Andrew's portrayal of the character.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I think it feels the same thinks Andrew's the best Garfield,
- 8:13Speaker 2: the best, best, the best Spider Man.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Yeah, he's I feel like I feel like he's just
- 8:18Speaker 1: well rounded. He's really really good at Spider Man, but
- 8:20Speaker 1: his movies unfortunately didn't like they had good style. The
- 8:24Speaker 1: first Spider Man was cool, the second one, the second
- 8:27Speaker 1: one was all over the place.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yeah that was the one with Jamie Fox.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, but like and it's not
- 8:33Speaker 1: I don't I don't think it's fair to just go
- 8:35Speaker 1: all Toby because Toby's movies are the better movies to me.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I think one and two specifically, Yeah, one and two,
- 8:42Speaker 2: I think, Uh, I like the Spider Verse ship that
- 8:45Speaker 2: I think the cartoon is crazy.
- 8:46Speaker 3: It's amazing.
- 8:47Speaker 1: It's amazing, like if if animated movies didn't have that
- 8:52Speaker 1: asterisk with it. Yeah, they have an asterisk because I
- 8:55Speaker 1: honestly think at times I could say that they're better
- 8:59Speaker 1: than the total ones for sure.
- 9:02Speaker 2: How do you feel because there is this cool like pollination,
- 9:07Speaker 2: cross pollination of of that world, like and hip hop.
- 9:11Speaker 2: We just saw a comic con. They did the panel, Yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 2: they did the panel, and they did the special edition
- 9:17Speaker 2: comic book with mass appeal and like they face. Is
- 9:21Speaker 2: that something you kind of inspired to do, like on
- 9:23Speaker 2: a bigger level where you want to bring those two
- 9:25Speaker 2: worlds together in a real way.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Absolutely, I especially want to do a comic book. I
- 9:31Speaker 1: want to do God Will and Yo, Sony, somebody let
- 9:35Speaker 1: me do the Moules Morale soundtrack one day. You know
- 9:37Speaker 1: that would be amazing, you know, Brooklyn, you know what
- 9:40Speaker 1: I'm saying. But yeah, I want to do it on
- 9:44Speaker 1: a larger scale one day. I've performed at a couple
- 9:47Speaker 1: comic conventions, so I would love to do something like
- 9:52Speaker 1: that on a larger scale, like I don't know, like
- 9:54Speaker 1: combining a comic convention with like a music festival.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Have you been to comic con yet? Not yet?
- 9:59Speaker 3: Wild? Yeah, yeah, that's the one. I haven't been to
- 10:02Speaker 3: super Bowl for that. Yes, huge last year.
- 10:04Speaker 1: And I was like, what, you went to San Diego?
- 10:06Speaker 1: And Okay where San Diego?
- 10:08Speaker 2: They say it's the San Diego the New York.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Yeah, because I think San Diego is just larger, It's
- 10:13Speaker 1: way bigger.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Yeah, we went to like a Peacemaker event. Did you
- 10:17Speaker 2: meet John Cena? He was in that motherfucker you've seen him?
- 10:20Speaker 2: He walked right past me. He didn't see him? Yeah,
- 10:23Speaker 2: I did, well, I mean he was invisible. Yeah, it
- 10:26Speaker 2: was just but he was in full costume.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Oh ship. Yeah, he commssed the role.
- 10:30Speaker 2: So it was just a helmet walking by.
- 10:32Speaker 3: That's so hard.
- 10:33Speaker 2: James Gunn was just hanging out.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Yo, shout out, shout out James Gunn. He likes
- 10:37Speaker 1: hip hop like heavily.
- 10:39Speaker 2: He had this group. So there's like if you did
- 10:41Speaker 2: you watch Peacemaker season two, so there's like that rock
- 10:45Speaker 2: music that's always held an inappropriate playing throughout the season.
- 10:47Speaker 2: It's this group called Steel Panther.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yes, yes, is that that's the That's the group they
- 10:51Speaker 1: had on the boat scene.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I think. So there's two groups. So there's the group
- 10:55Speaker 2: that did the actual intro song.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Okay, I think that's the one that's on the.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Bay performed, but then there's this other group that did
- 11:01Speaker 2: a lot of the soundtracks. So he had both of
- 11:03Speaker 2: the bands performing and he was just upstairs just singing
- 11:06Speaker 2: along one.
- 11:08Speaker 3: With James good Man.
- 11:09Speaker 2: James Gunn is the guy. Yeah, he's great. Did you
- 11:12Speaker 2: like Peacemaker? Loved it? Did you? Were you? Because my
- 11:15Speaker 2: kid tipped he called the whole other universe being racist?
- 11:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I called that offer.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Yeah. My son's like, hey, you noticed something about that
- 11:23Speaker 2: New World.
- 11:24Speaker 3: That no black people nothing?
- 11:25Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, yep, but like it, I
- 11:28Speaker 1: thought it was going to be like because what is
- 11:31Speaker 1: it in DC?
- 11:32Speaker 3: I think it's Earth X whether like all like Nazis
- 11:34Speaker 3: or whatever.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I thought it was gonna be like that because like
- 11:37Speaker 1: I'm like, damn, like his brother's alive every day.
- 11:40Speaker 2: It made sense, like why his dad was so happy,
- 11:42Speaker 2: yes exactly, and like his family was thriving because it.
- 11:45Speaker 3: In that world they would be video shit exactly.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy, man. Shout to John Cena and shout
- 11:51Speaker 2: out to John Cena. What for you man? Like, obviously
- 11:54Speaker 2: I feel like you. You take so much time and
- 11:56Speaker 2: and and put so much attention to detail into your albums.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Have you already started working on your next project?
- 12:03Speaker 3: Yes? Like idea wise for sure?
- 12:06Speaker 1: Uh, you know, because what I really want to do,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I want to I don't want to take years between projects.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I'm not afforded that lux regis yet, so right, Yeah,
- 12:16Speaker 1: so I want to.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I want to kind of keep the pressure going exactly exactly.
- 12:19Speaker 1: So I want to. I want to double back as
- 12:21Speaker 1: soon as I possibly can. But yeah, I put a
- 12:23Speaker 1: lot of effort and detail into it.
- 12:25Speaker 2: So talk to me. You know, it feels like obviously
- 12:28Speaker 2: you have you have such a I guess a multi
- 12:32Speaker 2: geography background obviously here in New York, Maryland for a
- 12:35Speaker 2: little bit Maryland for Atlanta. Do you feel like because Atlanta,
- 12:39Speaker 2: I feel like has had a commercially maybe like a
- 12:43Speaker 2: drought Lyrically, Uh, I feel like it's the page is turning,
- 12:48Speaker 2: Like all the young guys are like obviously j I
- 12:50Speaker 2: d you know, it's incredible. But in terms of like
- 12:53Speaker 2: most of the commercial music out of Atlanta, I would say,
- 12:55Speaker 2: like lyric lyricism hasn't been at the forefront of it.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Not to say that these guys can't be you know,
- 13:00Speaker 2: but it's been more about songwriting, melody, et cetera. For
- 13:04Speaker 2: you to it's like, do you feel like Atlanta's like
- 13:06Speaker 2: new generation is in a place to kind of like
- 13:09Speaker 2: carry on what you know, guys like Outcast and Goodie
- 13:12Speaker 2: Mob And.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Yeah, because I feel like I feel like Atlanta's like
- 13:16Speaker 1: new new rappers can definitely we could do both, Like
- 13:22Speaker 1: if you include me in that, I believe I could
- 13:24Speaker 1: do both. Soave, Kenny Mason, Marco plus like Jade, everybody
- 13:29Speaker 1: can do both. Again, it's just a matter of like
- 13:33Speaker 1: the awareness and reach you know, when that when that
- 13:37Speaker 1: time comes for everyone, I mean obviously is crazy he's
- 13:41Speaker 1: already out of it, but just for us that's still
- 13:44Speaker 1: working our way up. Yeah, I think I think we
- 13:45Speaker 1: can definitely do that.
- 13:47Speaker 3: For sure.
- 13:48Speaker 2: I saw that you you had said that you were
- 13:50Speaker 2: kind of like coming up and like you'd first kind
- 13:52Speaker 2: of like got on a lot of the rap shit
- 13:54Speaker 2: six and parts like that. Who do you think was
- 13:57Speaker 2: like the number one like influence on you to start
- 14:00Speaker 2: kind of like pushing your pen.
- 14:02Speaker 3: More as an artist, jay Z? Yeah? For sure.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Was there any particular album or so so growing up?
- 14:10Speaker 1: Obviously I was familiar with like Hove, but like when
- 14:13Speaker 1: it came down to like all right, I'm gonna take
- 14:14Speaker 1: the time to like really really like get nice, I
- 14:17Speaker 1: actually like sat down and listened.
- 14:19Speaker 3: To all his albums like one one week. I just
- 14:21Speaker 3: listened to everything.
- 14:23Speaker 2: It was like almost going to school.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, And then I realized how many like
- 14:27Speaker 1: of my favorite artists like borrow from him. When you
- 14:29Speaker 1: look at like Kendrick Cole, Wayne, everybody, everybody borrows like
- 14:33Speaker 1: a jay Z lyric and flips it some way somehow.
- 14:36Speaker 1: So I would say jay Z. Jay Z is the one,
- 14:38Speaker 1: like especially like on my last album, I referenced him
- 14:41Speaker 1: like a lot. I referenced a lot of his lyrics,
- 14:43Speaker 1: like almost on every other song.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Yeah do you. I also say you're a big Wayne guy.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Love Wayne.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Did you see the Russell's take on Little Wayne?
- 14:50Speaker 3: I don't agree.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I was gonna ask you at that moment, Yeah I was.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I made a little tweet about it, shout shout out
- 14:57Speaker 1: of the Russell. I respect Lo Russell. You know what
- 14:58Speaker 1: I'm saying. I think what he's doing is though, But
- 15:00Speaker 1: I just yeah, I didn't agree with his take, but
- 15:02Speaker 1: I saw where he was coming from. I will say
- 15:05Speaker 1: that obviously with the with the way people clipped media, Like.
- 15:09Speaker 2: I saw the totality of what he said, and then
- 15:12Speaker 2: like what got clipped made it seem a lot.
- 15:14Speaker 3: More like malicious things.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and I agree with that, but I definitely
- 15:19Speaker 1: think it's like it's one of those things. It's also
- 15:21Speaker 1: how I feel about how people talk about hip hop
- 15:24Speaker 1: nowadays too, where it's like, oh, there's no substance in
- 15:26Speaker 1: hip hop nowadays, and it's like you're just not looking
- 15:28Speaker 1: for it. Wayne had a lot of songs with substance.
- 15:31Speaker 1: You just weren't privy to it because that wasn't the Wayne.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Definitely had some songs with substance. No, he had a lot.
- 15:37Speaker 3: He had a lot of Georgy had Georgia Bushy had
- 15:38Speaker 3: Georgia bush.
- 15:40Speaker 2: He had some.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, for sure, it wasn't obviously it wasn't his
- 15:44Speaker 1: m O. And Wayne say that himself. He said that
- 15:46Speaker 1: in the interviews, like that's not my MO, but he
- 15:48Speaker 1: does do it.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I think like part of like why we love hip
- 15:52Speaker 2: hop is because we're able to live vicariously through a
- 15:56Speaker 2: lot of people. And it's like just because like Lil
- 15:59Speaker 2: Wayne's story is you know a lot of I mean
- 16:02Speaker 2: I think about like a song like I Feel Like Dying,
- 16:04Speaker 2: which is one of my favorite songs. So I've never
- 16:06Speaker 2: been that high.
- 16:08Speaker 3: For sure, it is unique. It's unique to the users.
- 16:12Speaker 2: To hear a rapper like like you know the pick,
- 16:14Speaker 2: Like the imagery of that song is so crazy. It's like,
- 16:17Speaker 2: damn that sounds hard. The same way they're like we
- 16:19Speaker 2: love gangster rap to an extent, like obviously like I
- 16:22Speaker 2: came up in a really bad area. But it's like
- 16:24Speaker 2: if I'm listening to g Z talk about getting ship
- 16:27Speaker 2: off for seventeen five, yeah, or the you know my
- 16:30Speaker 2: favorite rap group.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Clips, Oh yeah, I was speeping the other you got
- 16:34Speaker 3: a crazy collection.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I had this forever. And then I interviewed
- 16:38Speaker 2: them in New York like last year, and I just
- 16:41Speaker 2: brought I just brought so much stuff. I was like,
- 16:44Speaker 2: I need you guys to autograph all of this. That's hard.
- 16:46Speaker 2: That's hey. We got to stop the interview to tell
- 16:48Speaker 2: you about our good folks. Odd Socks. Man. Now, these
- 16:51Speaker 2: are the odd Socks Basics, ladies and gentlemen. Now when
- 16:54Speaker 2: I tell you this is a product that every single
- 16:58Speaker 2: day I'm alive for the last five six years I
- 17:02Speaker 2: have used. Are these odd Socks Basics. Now, what odd
- 17:05Speaker 2: Socks is doing is they're kind of reinventing the sock game,
- 17:07Speaker 2: if we're being honest, and the underwear game. You know,
- 17:09Speaker 2: a lot of times you'll hit Walmart, you'll hit Target,
- 17:12Speaker 2: you'll get some socks, you get some draws. They're affordable,
- 17:15Speaker 2: they end up with holes in them. They don't really
- 17:17Speaker 2: feel great. Not odd Socks. The ladies, JOm, These odd
- 17:20Speaker 2: Socks Basics are the most comfortable socks I've ever had
- 17:23Speaker 2: on my feet. Not only that, but you're super affordable.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Fourteen ninety nine for a six pack. That's it. Odd
- 17:32Speaker 2: Socks dot com and if you don't believe me, sock
- 17:37Speaker 2: check full. Wait that's the ex is on the other side.
- 17:40Speaker 2: There we go. Ah, you see that. Sorry you had
- 17:45Speaker 2: to see those white legs. But it's so dope that,
- 17:49Speaker 2: you know, I get to push a product that I
- 17:50Speaker 2: use and that I love so odd Socks they got
- 17:53Speaker 2: the six pack socks for fourteen ninety nine at odd
- 17:55Speaker 2: socks dot com. The basics, this is the future of socks,
- 18:00Speaker 2: the future of underwear, comfort and affordability. I'm talking about
- 18:04Speaker 2: affordability without jeopardizing the quality because they are the most
- 18:07Speaker 2: comfortable socks you ever put on your feet. Ladies and gents,
- 18:10Speaker 2: uh and the ETCeteras. Got to show love to the ETCeteras.
- 18:13Speaker 2: We like all the stripes on the flag. They're odd
- 18:16Speaker 2: Socks dot com.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Man.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Much love to my brothers over there. What was your
- 18:19Speaker 2: favorite album outside of your own last year?
- 18:21Speaker 3: Clips? Okay, I really enjoyed Clips and Playboard CARDI.
- 18:25Speaker 2: The Cardio album is a fucking fun listen.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I fucking love it. I work out. I work
- 18:29Speaker 3: out to it.
- 18:29Speaker 2: I didn't realize how much I listened to that album
- 18:33Speaker 2: until the Spotify raps came out and it was in
- 18:35Speaker 2: your top albums, and I was like, oh, ship, because
- 18:38Speaker 2: there's like three or four of them joints, and I'll
- 18:40Speaker 2: just throw on.
- 18:41Speaker 3: It just like yeah, it's nice. Jordan is so so hard.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Crank Crank is my ship? Like wheezy, uh, what's this?
- 18:51Speaker 3: You gotta nor come? Overly? Overly? Overly is hard too?
- 18:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but I say Clips and Clips and Cardi were
- 18:59Speaker 1: the two albums I played the most last year for sure?
- 19:01Speaker 2: Do you is it hard for you to because I
- 19:04Speaker 2: know some artists like Will, if they're in the middle
- 19:07Speaker 2: of creating, they'll try not to listen to that much
- 19:09Speaker 2: other music because they sure to be subconsciously influenced. Is
- 19:12Speaker 2: that an easy like are you somebody who? Yes?
- 19:15Speaker 1: So that's something I've started to adopt because yeah, I
- 19:19Speaker 1: like to, Like when I was working on my like
- 19:21Speaker 1: last like my newest project, say, I really just listen
- 19:26Speaker 1: to myself, Like mostly I listened to myself as a
- 19:29Speaker 1: fan and as a.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Critic for sure.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Yeah, do you feel like so you were kind of
- 19:36Speaker 2: like listening to your own ship but trying to put
- 19:38Speaker 2: different different glasses. Yeah, yep, so you kind of see
- 19:41Speaker 2: your shit through different.
- 19:42Speaker 3: See it through different perspectives because obviously I'm I'm biased.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I think my ship is the greatest because I'm the
- 19:47Speaker 1: person that made it, So as an artist, you're supposed
- 19:49Speaker 1: to feel like that. But also I try to listen
- 19:50Speaker 1: to you know, I hear a lot of outside input
- 19:53Speaker 1: where people are like saying like, oh, I feel like
- 19:55Speaker 1: this about it, So I try to listen for what
- 19:57Speaker 1: they're hearing also listen to it like Okay, like how
- 20:00Speaker 1: can I improve this, or like what do I do
- 20:03Speaker 1: to make myself stand out a little bit more? Or
- 20:06Speaker 1: how do I approach this with a new way of
- 20:11Speaker 1: lyricism or like new way of how I write my lyrics.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like there's like a gift in the
- 20:16Speaker 2: curse with that, because it's a slippery slope, because it's
- 20:18Speaker 2: like you want to be true to yourself and not
- 20:20Speaker 2: let too much outside criticism for sure. Yeah yeah, but
- 20:25Speaker 2: also like you know, evolve.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Of course, I think for me, it's really just like
- 20:31Speaker 1: you got to evolve and you got to adapt. And
- 20:33Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, if you got everybody telling
- 20:36Speaker 1: you you good or like, you know, yes to ideas,
- 20:41Speaker 1: you kind of going just end up doing the same shit.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I feel like, like, how do you push yourself exactly.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I think about like Mac Miller and like how every
- 20:49Speaker 2: album is.
- 20:49Speaker 1: So different, so different, or I look at it like
- 20:52Speaker 1: you know, Kan Kanye, you know guy Kid Cuddy, Like
- 20:58Speaker 1: every project is different, Tyler, The projects are different, and
- 21:01Speaker 1: every project has its esthetic and theme sometimes it's own character.
- 21:06Speaker 3: That's something I really do subscribe to.
- 21:08Speaker 2: So talk about just, you know, for for people who
- 21:11Speaker 2: don't know the significance of your album cover and that door,
- 21:15Speaker 2: I know you have the address tattooed on you rightest,
- 21:18Speaker 2: yet for people who haven't seen you, talk about it.
- 21:20Speaker 2: What is the significance of the album cover and just
- 21:23Speaker 2: break that down for everybody.
- 21:24Speaker 1: So uh so with the door on the album cover
- 21:28Speaker 1: is a we got a replica made of my childhood
- 21:31Speaker 1: like home door back in Brooklyn five ninety Osborne Street
- 21:35Speaker 1: shot out Brownsville. You know, yeah, but we we got
- 21:42Speaker 1: a replicab that door made. And for me, it's important
- 21:45Speaker 1: for me to include something like that on what I
- 21:46Speaker 1: call my debut album because I feel like your debut
- 21:50Speaker 1: album is supposed it's supposed to establish a few things,
- 21:53Speaker 1: supposed to establish who you are, where you from, and
- 21:57Speaker 1: and like just the foundation for the rest your career,
- 22:01Speaker 1: and for me it was very it was very very
- 22:04Speaker 1: important for me to like say, hey, although I am
- 22:06Speaker 1: associated as an Atlanta artist, I am originally a Brooklyn
- 22:10Speaker 1: part like I'm a kid from Brooklyn, so I want
- 22:13Speaker 1: to be established as hey, I am.
- 22:15Speaker 3: A Brooklyn rapper.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Why I do maintain this Atlanta atmosphere of tumors. My
- 22:21Speaker 1: story started here, So I want to include something that
- 22:24Speaker 1: that shows that for me, that was that door, that
- 22:27Speaker 1: building my aunt. When my aunt moved to New York,
- 22:30Speaker 1: she bought that building. That was the building that me
- 22:32Speaker 1: and my family was raised in. So it's important for
- 22:34Speaker 1: me to include something like that because like, one day
- 22:36Speaker 1: I want to buy that building.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Yeah you know what I'm.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Saying, and yeah, and you know, on some like real
- 22:42Speaker 1: corny fucking shit, we cracked the door up and they say, oh,
- 22:45Speaker 1: we're welcoming you into the story.
- 22:48Speaker 2: It's like your origin story. It is like number one.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Exactly, No, it is. It's my superhero origin story. It's
- 22:54Speaker 1: my amazing Fantasy fifteen. So it's like that is where
- 22:57Speaker 1: things start for me, is where I belie leave things.
- 23:01Speaker 1: It's the foundation for things going forward. You know, if
- 23:03Speaker 1: it's a bed, this is why I laid my sheets
- 23:05Speaker 1: and my covers and my pillows.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I'm making my bed. And this is the first step.
- 23:08Speaker 2: To for people who don't know, Brownsville is one of
- 23:10Speaker 2: the areas in Brooklyn that it still hasn't been all
- 23:16Speaker 2: the way gentrified.
- 23:17Speaker 3: It hasn't, you know.
- 23:19Speaker 2: When I grew up, I would hear about it through
- 23:22Speaker 2: Little Fame, Billy Dance and those guys. But what is
- 23:27Speaker 2: how long did you live there?
- 23:29Speaker 3: Back and forth my entire life.
- 23:30Speaker 1: So I moved after middle school middle school, so I
- 23:35Speaker 1: went to this place called FDA eight that was in
- 23:38Speaker 1: East New York, which is neighboring cities. But and then
- 23:41Speaker 1: I moved to Atlanta. And when I moved to Atlanta,
- 23:43Speaker 1: I will spend summers back in Brooklyn.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:46Speaker 2: So, so like Brooklyn was very much a part of
- 23:49Speaker 2: your DNA in terms of just your like growing up.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Absolutely, Yeah, because I feel like if that makes a
- 23:55Speaker 2: lot more sense hearing.
- 23:56Speaker 1: You, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's my foundation. It gave me
- 24:00Speaker 1: I feel like I can be an independent person. I
- 24:03Speaker 1: think that's, you know, due to be like growing up
- 24:05Speaker 1: an only child. While I do have siblings, I grew
- 24:07Speaker 1: up only child. I think it's due to that, but
- 24:10Speaker 1: also like just growing up in that environment. I never
- 24:12Speaker 1: took a school bus until I moved to Atlanta, you know,
- 24:14Speaker 1: so I had to either walk to school or take
- 24:16Speaker 1: the city bus or to train or you know, and
- 24:18Speaker 1: you kind of developed that that own independence. You have
- 24:21Speaker 1: to go to the store and get your own food sometimes,
- 24:23Speaker 1: you know, like stuff like that. So yeah, it gave
- 24:28Speaker 1: me the foundation to be the man niny.
- 24:29Speaker 2: I always say kids who grew up in New York,
- 24:31Speaker 2: they're like they have like a whole nother level of
- 24:33Speaker 2: independence that they don't even realize that they lived with.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Yeah I didn't.
- 24:36Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I didn't realize that until until I was in Atlanta,
- 24:39Speaker 1: and I was like, damn, Like I kind of right in.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Like Atlanta or l A low key shelter. Yeah, you
- 24:44Speaker 2: got to be walking down the street amongst like of
- 24:46Speaker 2: strangers every Yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 1: But I wouldn't even say sheltered. I think it's just
- 24:50Speaker 1: like the because I don't I know people from l A.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I know people from Atlanta. That's not sheltered per se.
- 24:56Speaker 1: But it's just the the experience growing up. It's just different.
- 25:00Speaker 2: You could get in your car with your parents and
- 25:03Speaker 2: go to school and get picked up and go home
- 25:06Speaker 2: and then not really have interactions with many people outside
- 25:09Speaker 2: of your circle in New York. That's like impossible.
- 25:12Speaker 3: No, you can't.
- 25:13Speaker 1: You can't go about in New York without just seeing
- 25:18Speaker 1: seeing some wild shit or rubbing shoulders with a million strangers.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Even if you stay in your neighborhood, there's like there's
- 25:23Speaker 1: always something someone knew, someone something to see, this culture
- 25:27Speaker 1: being displayed, you know what I'm saying. I grew up
- 25:29Speaker 1: with a lot of like, uh, Guyanese people, Jamaican people,
- 25:33Speaker 1: and Puerto Rican people, so it was just so much
- 25:35Speaker 1: to soak in growing up, you know what I'm saying.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Uh So, yeah, yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Talk to me. You obviously announced your your how many
- 25:44Speaker 2: how many shows you doing? Six? Six?
- 25:46Speaker 1: So I like to say seven because I like to
- 25:48Speaker 1: include the Atlanta show because that was the album really
- 25:50Speaker 1: show and I feel like that kind of like spearheaded it.
- 25:53Speaker 3: But yeah, six. So tonight we're doing LA and.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Yeah, Providence that was already it happened.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's already happened tonight. It's the last one technically.
- 26:03Speaker 3: But not really.
- 26:04Speaker 1: So we're actually, uh, we had to postpone the DC
- 26:07Speaker 1: show due to the weather. Because it was like snowing
- 26:09Speaker 1: or whatever. So d C has now been moved to
- 26:13Speaker 1: March twenty six. Get your tickets kids, and.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, how is Providence because I used to DJ
- 26:20Speaker 2: in Providence a lot. There's a one of my homies
- 26:22Speaker 2: is a legend out there, so I would be out
- 26:24Speaker 2: there a lot.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Really, it was Providences. Dope, properdence was dope, beautiful women
- 26:28Speaker 1: out there. That's that's the Cape Verdians be outside.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Bro.
- 26:32Speaker 2: We were just talking about that, remember the first time
- 26:36Speaker 2: in Rhode Island. Looked at my boy. I'm like, yeah,
- 26:39Speaker 2: what's all this? Like, you know Ambrose. Yeah, she's half
- 26:44Speaker 2: of one of them. Oh word, oh that's crazy. She's
- 26:47Speaker 2: half Cape verdie Yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Everyone was telling me like, oh man, the Cape Verdiano.
- 26:50Speaker 3: And I'm like, man, did.
- 26:52Speaker 2: They try to force you to go to their Uh?
- 26:54Speaker 2: They have a place out there called the New York
- 26:56Speaker 2: Systems where they have these things called hot means.
- 27:01Speaker 1: We try to get that ship. Uh it was it
- 27:05Speaker 1: was on Dyke Street. Yeah, we tried that.
- 27:07Speaker 2: We try to. It's so crazy because they'll tell you like, yo,
- 27:10Speaker 2: you got to go get a hot winterer from New
- 27:12Speaker 2: York Systems and it was right behind the venue we
- 27:14Speaker 2: was at. Yeah, we ended up at because they didn't
- 27:17Speaker 2: have it's just chili dogs bro like.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Because they had uh yeah, because that's all they had
- 27:24Speaker 1: in there.
- 27:25Speaker 3: We was like, bro, we don't want to know Glizzies.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Bro. Yeah, that's it's literally like the Glizzy style. And
- 27:29Speaker 2: they got good Italian food because there's all Mafia ship
- 27:31Speaker 2: in Providence.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Were okay, we have some good Italian food out in Boston.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Boston is the best Boston has. I swear to god,
- 27:37Speaker 2: Boston has the best Italian food.
- 27:39Speaker 3: And that's what a lot of people say.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Say, but I'll take it over New York.
- 27:41Speaker 3: That's what a lot of people say though.
- 27:43Speaker 2: And then they got those all night bakeries that are
- 27:45Speaker 2: open in that same little area, went to like little.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Yeah, we got a little canola or something. It was good.
- 27:50Speaker 2: What like what Obviously you guys picked those dates strategically.
- 27:54Speaker 2: You must have something going in like the England area
- 27:56Speaker 2: where you can see the analytics.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Yeah, so I know, Hogo's my most stream city. Boston
- 28:03Speaker 1: is up there. Obviously New York is up there.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Uh.
- 28:07Speaker 1: We had a we had a couple like just uh
- 28:10Speaker 1: some motion going on in uh Rhode Island and Boston
- 28:14Speaker 1: that we wanted to take advantage of.
- 28:15Speaker 2: For yeah, I'm sure, like that's the plus about being
- 28:18Speaker 2: able to just look at your back end as an
- 28:19Speaker 2: independent artist. You gonna be like, all right, I think
- 28:21Speaker 2: we could do this year this year to this year
- 28:24Speaker 2: and try and try. You know.
- 28:25Speaker 1: This is also like I'm also rebuilding my uh like
- 28:29Speaker 1: ticket history too, you know, so I'm kind of starting
- 28:32Speaker 1: from the ground up again because I took such a
- 28:34Speaker 1: long time off between projects, so I didn't perform much
- 28:38Speaker 1: in between in the between times. So we're rebuilding it
- 28:42Speaker 1: if you will.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Hey, we gotta stop the interview to tell you about
- 28:44Speaker 2: a good folks and my Bookie. Don't forget man, there's

- 29:50Speaker 2: your your favorite comic book, Who's who rounds out? You're
- 29:54Speaker 2: starting five? Okay, so you see your Marvel Image or
- 29:59Speaker 2: dark Horse.
- 30:00Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go Spider Man, Batman Flash. I'll say
- 30:06Speaker 1: spider Man Man Flash, I'll go Wolverine, and I'll add
- 30:09Speaker 1: I'll add Invincible. Oh I love that, man, I've read
- 30:12Speaker 1: that comic three times over. That shit is I love it.
- 30:15Speaker 2: I had never heard of this prior to the Amazon show. Yeah,
- 30:18Speaker 2: but that Amazon show, it's amazing you. So you don't know,
- 30:22Speaker 2: you don't know anything. You season that motherfucker Dad is crazy. Yo.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Alright, so season four is about to drop. I don't
- 30:29Speaker 1: know if you tune into season two or three.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Dude. I only watched season one and then there was
- 30:33Speaker 2: like the little in between or things that they tried
- 30:35Speaker 2: to drop it to Adam Eve Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 2: and I just didn't get into it. But season one.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Give it a go.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Finish it out because I promise you the way season
- 30:44Speaker 1: three ends, you go and look back and season want
- 30:45Speaker 1: to be like, damn, that was child's play.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Yo.
- 30:47Speaker 1: His Pops is great. Pops is like a million I can't.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I don't want to spoil nothing for you. Give it
- 30:53Speaker 1: a go because season four about to come out in
- 30:54Speaker 1: like two weeks. Do you like the Boys? I love
- 30:56Speaker 1: the Boys? Yeah, I just I just watched the finale trailer.
- 30:59Speaker 2: I just oh yeah, the trailer just came out. I
- 31:01Speaker 2: think today, yeah, today. Yeah, it's Homelander like in the top.
- 31:05Speaker 2: I feel like he's somehow but with today's like political climate.
- 31:09Speaker 2: He feels somehow tied.
- 31:10Speaker 1: To like yeah, yeah, he feels like he's a little
- 31:14Speaker 1: on the nose. Yeah, sad tire, But yeah, Homeland is great.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Homeland is great. He's a big baby, but that's I mean,
- 31:22Speaker 1: that's part of it. I like Homelander.
- 31:24Speaker 2: He's a great villain.
- 31:25Speaker 3: I like a bad villain for sure.
- 31:28Speaker 2: C W shows Flash or Arrow, Oh damn, that's a
- 31:33Speaker 2: good one. Small Ville, small vill Smallville.
- 31:36Speaker 1: But I'm gonna go I'm gonna go Flash. I enjoyed
- 31:39Speaker 1: Flashed more than Arrow.
- 31:40Speaker 2: But the first part of Flash yeah, three.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Yeah, after three just dropped off.
- 31:45Speaker 2: If it came like Yo, what do how many fucking
- 31:48Speaker 2: times are we gonna do it? Yeah? It's like it's
- 31:50Speaker 2: like the Walking Dead of comic book shows. Yeah, man,
- 31:53Speaker 2: you're like, Yo, how many times are these guys gonna
- 31:56Speaker 2: get split up? Into? Fun?
- 31:57Speaker 1: Fact walk Walking Dead is a comic book show. It's
- 32:00Speaker 1: made by the same dude that made Inviscible yeeah.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:02Speaker 1: But with the Flash, bro, I kind of got annoyed
- 32:05Speaker 1: with it because it's like, you're not the Flashbury, we
- 32:07Speaker 1: are all the Flash. That shit pissed me off, and like, yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 1: after season three.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I fell off it.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Yeah, man, And then you want to like, DC fucking
- 32:16Speaker 2: fumbled the whole Flash movie opportunity because that ship that
- 32:19Speaker 2: show was white hot, and they would have did the
- 32:21Speaker 2: movie the right way. That ship would have been cracking.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Yeah, And they kept putting off that movie too. They
- 32:26Speaker 3: canceled it twice.
- 32:27Speaker 2: And then the bro was like kind of crazy.
- 32:29Speaker 3: It was throw Asra Miller he was he.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Well, they figured out a way to correct the ship.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Me too, me too. I like what James Gunn is doing.
- 32:37Speaker 1: I like Peacemaker.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I like, uh, well, this isn't I like the Superman.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Superman was great. I'm excited for Supergirl. Jason won Moore's Lebo.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I think that's the perfect casting. I think that's a
- 32:48Speaker 1: much better cast than Aquaman.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Someone told me that James gun is very very good
- 32:53Speaker 2: at using animals to tug it every heart string. Yes,
- 32:56Speaker 2: because I was thinking about Rocket Rocket because like Guardians three,
- 33:01Speaker 2: Oh my god, oh yeah yeah mm hmm, and then
- 33:05Speaker 2: Eagle Eagerly, and then super.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Dog the super Dog, and then uh in Suicide Squad
- 33:11Speaker 1: the second one.
- 33:11Speaker 2: He had the weasel yeah, and.
- 33:14Speaker 1: King Shark, Like he's really good with the animal thing.
- 33:16Speaker 1: I don't know he he likes he likes animals.
- 33:20Speaker 2: You when you prepare for this, because this is on
- 33:22Speaker 2: the radar freestyle that happened. This cipher was super dope man.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Shout out to Gabe for putting it together. I thought
- 33:27Speaker 2: everybody showed up and really did understood the assignment. What
- 33:33Speaker 2: kind of preparation did you have going into that? Did
- 33:35Speaker 2: you know who you were going to be rapping with? Like, yes, so.
- 33:40Speaker 1: We prepare like because we knew about it, and he
- 33:44Speaker 1: hit us in maybe like November October November, like y'all
- 33:47Speaker 1: want to do this, but we didn't get to beat
- 33:49Speaker 1: until like maybe a couple of weeks before.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Now we got to beat like like three weeks before.
- 33:55Speaker 1: And yeah, I definitely like, like I knew who I
- 33:58Speaker 1: was rapping against. I'm I'm in a that with like
- 34:00Speaker 1: most of the guys that I was rapping against, right,
- 34:02Speaker 1: not against rapping with, And uh, like I knew Ray
- 34:08Speaker 1: was going to be there, raise the homie me and
- 34:09Speaker 1: Ray being locked in for a minute.
- 34:10Speaker 3: I knew Ray was going to be there.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Uh.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Some of the other people like Luisi and Marlin, I
- 34:15Speaker 1: think I think they were added towards the end. Some
- 34:19Speaker 1: people were like supposed to be there and it didn't
- 34:22Speaker 1: work out.
- 34:23Speaker 3: But uh yeah yeah.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Once once I kind of knew who was all going
- 34:27Speaker 1: to be there, I'm like, okay, I know, I kind
- 34:29Speaker 1: of gotta go.
- 34:30Speaker 2: You gotta come with it. Yeah.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I already was going to do that anyway with it,
- 34:34Speaker 1: like with the people I was already privy to. But
- 34:36Speaker 1: once we got the final list, like like someone someone
- 34:39Speaker 1: like Nassign, the sign is crazy, So I'm like, okay,
- 34:41Speaker 1: like I wanted.
- 34:41Speaker 2: That sounds good.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Yeah, he's really really good with that.
- 34:44Speaker 1: So it's like I want to like make sure that
- 34:45Speaker 1: I'm able to like stand out or stand next to Yeah.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Sure, is there anybody who's like the post DMD you
- 34:54Speaker 2: just that you've kind of found out is like aware
- 34:56Speaker 2: of what you're doing or a fan of what you're doing.
- 34:58Speaker 2: It's kind of tripped you out recently?
- 35:02Speaker 3: Hmmmm who tripped me out recently?
- 35:08Speaker 2: Two people?
- 35:08Speaker 1: Well, Anthony Fantanna. I really like the Needle Drop of course. Yeah,
- 35:14Speaker 1: that that was a big one for me and Game
- 35:17Speaker 1: Game Game.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Yeah, Game Game.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Showed me a lot of love. We did some stuff together.
- 35:21Speaker 1: I don't know if it's gonna come.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Out or not.
- 35:23Speaker 2: But white ceiling, red Rose, white ceiling.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Yeah, game was one of the ones too, and there's
- 35:30Speaker 1: somebody else and it's just escaping my mind right now.
- 35:32Speaker 2: But I was did Fantano review Decipher, Cipher review Decipher.
- 35:38Speaker 1: And then he was like, y'all want to like check
- 35:40Speaker 1: into your stuff, and he's been showing love.
- 35:42Speaker 2: So yeah, I feel like he you know, I feel
- 35:44Speaker 2: like I've seen people give him some ship for other stuff,
- 35:47Speaker 2: but yeah, he's he at least approaches his reviews from
- 35:51Speaker 2: like a fans perspective and it doesn't feel like a hater. Yeah.
- 35:55Speaker 1: No, I think I value his opinion because I like
- 35:58Speaker 1: the way he breaks down to criticize his albums.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Even if his albums I like it, and I'd be like.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes he's sometimes I don't.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Agree with this, Yeah, a lot of times I don't agree,
- 36:07Speaker 1: but I understand where he comes from when he like
- 36:10Speaker 1: reviews stuff.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I think it's important too because he explains his perspective
- 36:14Speaker 2: as opposed to like Open and Pitchfork and you're like
- 36:17Speaker 2: this guy, like I think Ja Cole's album got like
- 36:19Speaker 2: a five yea, And I'm like, how, but I love
- 36:24Speaker 2: the Cold album. There's I don't know if you fucked
- 36:27Speaker 2: with it. But I think I don't understand what this
- 36:29Speaker 2: just automatic hate for J Cole. Yeah, I don't like,
- 36:32Speaker 2: I don't get it. I don't like that I had
- 36:34Speaker 2: I was.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I think Cold's album is amazing, but I definitely had
- 36:38Speaker 1: a different expectation for it. But you know, once I
- 36:41Speaker 1: listened to it one and realize, like, this is exactly
- 36:43Speaker 1: what he wanted the fall Off to be. I thought
- 36:46Speaker 1: the fall Off was gonna be something different from like
- 36:48Speaker 1: just the years of hype. But once I like really
- 36:51Speaker 1: really took some time and sat with it, I'm like, no,
- 36:53Speaker 1: this is like how it's supposed to be.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I'm sure evolved too, Yeah, for sure, because it went
- 36:56Speaker 2: from like I'm sure it wasn't always going to be
- 36:58Speaker 2: a double disk.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Yeah you could tell, Yeah, I feel like you could
- 37:00Speaker 1: tell that. But I think I think it's a great album,
- 37:03Speaker 1: and I think I think even with the criticisms, it
- 37:05Speaker 1: is like Cole's. If someone says it's not a great album,
- 37:08Speaker 1: Cole's not great album would be most people's.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Best in my personal opinion.
- 37:14Speaker 2: So yeah, no, I think that if we think about
- 37:16Speaker 2: like Kendrick's discography or even Outcast discography, it's like, Yo,
- 37:19Speaker 2: the worst Outcast album is still one of the.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Best, exactly exactly, That's exactly how I feel.
- 37:23Speaker 2: That's exactly how I feel.
- 37:25Speaker 1: So yeah, you know, but people, you know and people
- 37:28Speaker 1: people for some reason got real, real bad hate.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Towards Cole because I don't understand the battle situation. I mean,
- 37:34Speaker 2: you know what, dude, I think that that decision has
- 37:36Speaker 2: aged gracefully. Uh yeah, yeah, because it was really between
- 37:41Speaker 2: them two bruhs.
- 37:42Speaker 3: You could tell.
- 37:43Speaker 2: I could tell it was really a it's always been
- 37:46Speaker 2: between them too.
- 37:47Speaker 1: And you could tell, you know, you could tell Cole
- 37:50Speaker 1: being included in Kendrick's shots at Drake was like more
- 37:53Speaker 1: of a.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Like I don't even well now he had a lot
- 38:00Speaker 2: had a line, Uh did he say something on on
- 38:03Speaker 2: First Person Shooter?
- 38:04Speaker 1: He said, if you walk around with that stick he
- 38:06Speaker 1: and andre Th K Cole got the stick song. There
- 38:10Speaker 1: was a couple of lines where it's like, Okay, that's
- 38:12Speaker 1: that's that's for Cold. But I think it was more
- 38:14Speaker 1: so like you just standing by him. I want him,
- 38:16Speaker 1: but you saying like, at.
- 38:17Speaker 2: The same time, you're on tour headlining with Cold, headlining
- 38:20Speaker 2: with Drake, standing with him.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Like you kind of gotta get it just because you
- 38:23Speaker 3: buy him.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I think like I'm glad eventually everyone just got
- 38:27Speaker 2: out of the way, because initially it was like it
- 38:29Speaker 2: did feel like it was too much hip hop civil war.
- 38:31Speaker 3: It was too much bro. It was like it was.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Frick Ross has a song and the weekend was taking
- 38:37Speaker 2: shots off the toy one on the Future album.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Rather than rocky like, and it was fun. It was
- 38:42Speaker 1: all fun, but it was like bro, like I want
- 38:43Speaker 1: I'm here for the main event.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Yeah. I thought the best bars Drake had the whole
- 38:47Speaker 2: beef were actually towards a sad probably and not Kendrick. Yeah,
- 38:53Speaker 2: because I knew all the Kendrick shit was just like
- 38:55Speaker 2: your short.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, I will say I will say because
- 39:00Speaker 1: I've gotten killed on Twitter, but I will say on
- 39:04Speaker 1: family matters minus like a few lines because I me
- 39:08Speaker 1: personally like all is fair in love and war. But
- 39:11Speaker 1: when y'all start throwing allegate they both threw allegations at
- 39:14Speaker 1: each other, and.
- 39:14Speaker 2: It was kind of like I like, I remember, Yeah,
- 39:18Speaker 2: it was that night DJ had called me and right
- 39:21Speaker 2: after it dropped and we were like, oh, he ain't
- 39:25Speaker 2: got nothing. Yeah. Yeah, I heard a lot of people
- 39:27Speaker 2: say that. I heard fifteen minutes later, Meet the grand
- 39:31Speaker 2: I called him like, are you fucking kidding me? This?
- 39:34Speaker 2: What's going on? Right? Yo? That ship was wild. It
- 39:36Speaker 2: was one of the best nights ever.
- 39:38Speaker 1: That was That was that whole weekend, that whole weekend.
- 39:41Speaker 1: It was back to back to back to back to back. Yeah,
- 39:44Speaker 1: all that shit was crazy.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I will say I listened to Family Matters recently, and
- 39:49Speaker 2: as it does, it's hard. It has aged better than
- 39:53Speaker 2: I remember.
- 39:54Speaker 1: It's hard. I like the last part, the last kinstrick
- 39:57Speaker 1: is over there. So that last part was he start
- 40:00Speaker 1: he had I think Kendrick whooped his ass. But and
- 40:05Speaker 1: Family Matters Drake had the best Mike Jack Prince scheme right. Yeah,
- 40:10Speaker 1: I thought that that part no, no time to make
- 40:13Speaker 1: a new ficture of a change, get on.
- 40:15Speaker 2: That part was hard. That was hard. I'll say this.
- 40:17Speaker 2: I'll say that.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Hip hop one, hip hop one for sure for sure.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Now I say that to say that Drake didn't win,
- 40:24Speaker 2: but hip hop no, No.
- 40:27Speaker 1: But once I feel like, you know, once people are
- 40:29Speaker 1: really like digging into lyrics the way that they are now.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Yeah, watching like a bunch of dudes do YouTube breakdowns
- 40:35Speaker 2: on raps? That were like, never they don't even give
- 40:37Speaker 2: a fuck about hip hop exactly.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that's like once we're at that point where people
- 40:41Speaker 1: are like dissecting the.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Smallest bar where it's like that's probably not even about
- 40:46Speaker 3: who's who is about.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I think hip hop is winning because people are actually
- 40:50Speaker 1: paying attention to what's being said.
- 40:51Speaker 2: We gotta get a shout out to our new sponsor,
- 40:53Speaker 2: Raffie Log Group. Listen. I don't partner with just anybody.
- 40:56Speaker 2: And if you're from Arizona, all my az people who
- 40:59Speaker 2: are watching, y'all know, call Raffi. Raffi Raffie Law Group.
- 41:03Speaker 2: They treat you like family, which is why I decided
- 41:07Speaker 2: to partner with them. Man, it only makes sense. The
- 41:09Speaker 2: best law group in AZ. They've helped over seventy thousand
- 41:13Speaker 2: folks in Arizona and listen, it's pretty easy. Whatever happens,
- 41:18Speaker 2: car accidents, car crashes, injuries, whatever, they handle it. My
- 41:21Speaker 2: wife actually got into an accident, this was like five
- 41:24Speaker 2: or six years ago. They handled her case, she got
- 41:28Speaker 2: paid out. It was super painless, it was super seamless.
- 41:32Speaker 2: The team was incredible. And when I tell you, man,
- 41:35Speaker 2: it's like a real family atmosphere over there. This is
- 41:37Speaker 2: not like just some random billboard lawyer, some bus stop lawyer. No,
- 41:40Speaker 2: it's a real team, all right, So make sure you
- 41:42Speaker 2: go support Raffie Law Group, and don't forget you get
- 41:45Speaker 2: into an accident, any sort of personal injury, car crash, whatever,
- 41:49Speaker 2: make sure you call RAFFI right now. Six two three
- 41:52Speaker 2: three eight eight forty three thirty three. That's six three
- 41:55Speaker 2: three eight eight four three three three call RAFFI. I
- 41:58Speaker 2: feel like two like unfortunately for Drake. Like, I feel
- 42:02Speaker 2: like because you know, the thing about Drake is there's
- 42:05Speaker 2: a lot of people who are dye Herd Drake fans,
- 42:06Speaker 2: but that's the only rap thing listen to.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I feel like that about a lot of
- 42:10Speaker 1: Drake fans.
- 42:11Speaker 2: And so like a lot of those louder voices were
- 42:14Speaker 2: amplified during this beef and then like I feel like
- 42:18Speaker 2: Drake just kind of got kind of boxed into like
- 42:22Speaker 2: these brothers over here.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, that's unfortunately because Drake is really like though,
- 42:26Speaker 1: like and he was the same. That's that's what that's
- 42:29Speaker 1: my favorite Drake Abum.
- 42:29Speaker 2: He's a real he's a real hip hop head, like
- 42:31Speaker 2: you know, he came up with like like being a
- 42:33Speaker 2: fan of little Brother and doing something and you know,
- 42:36Speaker 2: Joe Budden all that, Like, I just think I also
- 42:39Speaker 2: think he leaned into that a little bit for sure,
- 42:42Speaker 2: because he kind of leaned into who was fucking with him.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you kind of like you know, when you in
- 42:47Speaker 1: a in a battle space, in the headspace of like
- 42:50Speaker 1: I'm at like I'm figuratively at war, you kind of
- 42:53Speaker 1: you kind of do have to choose who you align with.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that there was some mis miscalculations. I
- 42:59Speaker 2: hope even just the name Iceman for an album.
- 43:02Speaker 4: Right now, it's like, I know you're from Canada, but
- 43:08Speaker 4: read the room Latino fans with timing is a little
- 43:12Speaker 4: old deal.
- 43:13Speaker 1: We should hit the rebrand the album. I'm excited for it, though.
- 43:17Speaker 2: I hope it's good. I hope it's good.
- 43:18Speaker 1: I'm excited for it because, like, so much about this
- 43:21Speaker 1: battle reminds me of NAS and jay Z, and I'm
- 43:24Speaker 1: interested to see what if he's going to do his
- 43:26Speaker 1: own blueprint too.
- 43:29Speaker 2: I feel like, Yo, by the way, that's one of
- 43:31Speaker 2: the most slept on jay Z songs. That's what I'm
- 43:33Speaker 2: saying that that just blaze beat is crazy. Yeah, like
- 43:41Speaker 2: h O b A. Yeah, but yeah, I think he's
- 43:46Speaker 2: I think he's already done his version of that with
- 43:48Speaker 2: the fighting Irish freestyle or yes, yes, and it feels
- 43:52Speaker 2: like he hasn't let go. He hasn't let go.
- 43:54Speaker 1: But I'm I'm I'm just excited because like that hasn't
- 43:57Speaker 1: been like formally put out, So I'm excited to hear
- 44:00Speaker 1: like how he really like like we got Kendricks, you know,
- 44:03Speaker 1: on whack out, whacked out murals, So I'm interested to
- 44:06Speaker 1: see how he approaches, like, Hey, this is.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Why I want to know what the out, what the
- 44:10Speaker 2: intro is gonna sound like.
- 44:11Speaker 3: I think the intro is gonna be the most important
- 44:13Speaker 3: song on that.
- 44:13Speaker 2: I agree, that's gonna be the first impression everybody has.
- 44:16Speaker 1: That and I think that's where he's probably gonna unload
- 44:18Speaker 1: how he's feeling.
- 44:19Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to it. Me too, Me too, I
- 44:21Speaker 2: will listen to it. Yeah, the Drake fans are I
- 44:26Speaker 2: am known as a very heavy Drake critiquer.
- 44:29Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I mean, no one's above criticism.
- 44:31Speaker 1: So for sure all time great rapper, Yeah for sure,
- 44:35Speaker 1: top ten for sure, one of my one of my
- 44:37Speaker 1: favorite rappers of all time above Wayne. No, really, I don't
- 44:40Speaker 1: put Drake above waen.
- 44:41Speaker 2: I got to man, I just can't. I just I
- 44:43Speaker 2: just feel like and listen, man, I am. I am
- 44:47Speaker 2: what they would call on the six side of the
- 44:50Speaker 2: Internet at a drag hater. Okay, yeah, I gotta put
- 44:52Speaker 2: Drake above Wayne.
- 44:53Speaker 3: Yeah. Wow, I can't do it. I can't do it.
- 44:56Speaker 2: I feel like his discography washes Wayne's.
- 44:59Speaker 3: I can't do I don't know if I could do it.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Carter Too is my favorite Wayne album.
- 45:04Speaker 2: I think the I mean, I think Carter two is
- 45:06Speaker 2: the best Wayne album, but my favorites the first Carter
- 45:08Speaker 2: because it had they had like B M. Junior and
- 45:11Speaker 2: and fucking I miss my dogs.
- 45:13Speaker 3: I miss those amazing.
- 45:15Speaker 2: But Carter three, man, it holds up. It's hits now.
- 45:19Speaker 2: I'll say this about Wayne, and I say this a
- 45:21Speaker 2: lot because I do love Little Wayne, not as much
- 45:23Speaker 2: as this guy. But I think No Ceilings, which was
- 45:31Speaker 2: two thousand and nine, was the last time we really
- 45:35Speaker 2: have like prime way prime Wayne, because I think Carter
- 45:38Speaker 2: four had strong singles. It did, but I think as
- 45:42Speaker 2: a body of work it fell short for me valid
- 45:46Speaker 2: and I think after that we got like the weird,
- 45:48Speaker 2: like I'm not a human being Revolver.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I like some of those though some of those have
- 45:52Speaker 1: like good songs like Bump Blowing and.
- 45:56Speaker 2: There are some great singles. But I just think like
- 45:59Speaker 2: in terms of like me just pressing play and being like, damn,
- 46:02Speaker 2: little Wayne is Yeah, I feel like no Ceilings is
- 46:05Speaker 2: the last time that we were able to kind of say.
- 46:08Speaker 3: Oh, sorry for the weight, sorry for the weight. One
- 46:12Speaker 3: was great to me.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Yeah, Roland he had the Tupac bag, he had a
- 46:16Speaker 1: damn what was the other one he's had.
- 46:18Speaker 2: I mean, listen, he's had incredible features and records, and
- 46:20Speaker 2: I just mean, like, like front Top, I just feelings
- 46:24Speaker 2: was crazy.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I ain't at at that. I ain't at
- 46:26Speaker 3: at that.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I do think there was definitely a point where I
- 46:30Speaker 1: fell out of love with Wayne, but like not in
- 46:32Speaker 1: the sense of like a love Russell, but like but
- 46:35Speaker 1: like like where I was like, okay, like Wayne was
- 46:38Speaker 1: all I listened to at one point, so like and
- 46:40Speaker 1: then once he kind of started to get into that space,
- 46:42Speaker 1: I kind of like, do.
- 46:43Speaker 2: You think album per album, Wayne's discography is better than Drake's.
- 46:48Speaker 1: You can't say that, right, I think I can say that,
- 46:51Speaker 1: but but yeah I might, I might.
- 46:53Speaker 3: I might be able to say.
- 46:54Speaker 2: That because I even think like a whack Drake album, Like,
- 46:56Speaker 2: what would you consider like a Drake's worst.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Album, Drake's worst album, let's say for the dogs.
- 47:03Speaker 3: I don'tkay, I don't think that albums.
- 47:05Speaker 2: It wasn't a great album. There's some shit on that.
- 47:07Speaker 3: It's some shit on it.
- 47:08Speaker 2: I didn't think like Certified lover Boy, like a lot
- 47:10Speaker 2: of people didn't like it at first, but.
- 47:11Speaker 1: I didn't like this aged well, yeah I didn't. I
- 47:13Speaker 1: didn't like Stif I Love a Boy much either. But
- 47:15Speaker 1: there's like a track run between like TSU and into
- 47:18Speaker 1: Deep and pipe down, Like there's joints on there where
- 47:21Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, na cold.
- 47:23Speaker 2: And I think her I mean, her loss was great.
- 47:25Speaker 1: I love her love her loss was soked. I absolutely
- 47:28Speaker 1: love that album. Oh honestly, never Mind, I'll say that honestly,
- 47:30Speaker 1: never Mind was very I love house music, but I
- 47:34Speaker 1: didn't It.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Wasn't a champion. Jimmy Crooks was Jimmy.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Cooks was Jimmy Cooks was fire, Sticky was fire, Steiky
- 47:39Speaker 1: was dope, Sticky was dope.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I gotta give I gotta give
- 47:42Speaker 2: the nod to Drake man, all right, I got I
- 47:45Speaker 2: don't fight you on it. I got a little waite
- 47:46Speaker 2: about eighteenth all time. Really yeah, I think I think.
- 47:49Speaker 1: I think for me it's my age because I WANs
- 47:51Speaker 1: in my top five top t so I'm thirty nine.
- 47:54Speaker 3: I'm thirty.
- 47:54Speaker 2: I respect you for saying yeah, top ten. Yeah, I
- 47:58Speaker 2: think top ten is about as good as it gets.
- 47:59Speaker 3: From for me.
- 48:00Speaker 1: For me, my top five is like Jay z uh
- 48:03Speaker 1: Nas Biggie most three stacks. I'll go Kendrick Cole, I'll
- 48:09Speaker 1: go Wayne, I'll put I'll put Wayne over, I put
- 48:13Speaker 1: push your.
- 48:14Speaker 3: T over Wayne. See, but that's just that's just nasty
- 48:17Speaker 3: because like.
- 48:18Speaker 2: You know, you know the history. That's crazy. Uh No.
- 48:23Speaker 1: I mean I love Push two though I love too,
- 48:25Speaker 1: I love pushing a lot people pushing one of my
- 48:27Speaker 1: favorite rappers too.
- 48:27Speaker 2: I put, I think you gotta put. This is gonna
- 48:30Speaker 2: sound crazy. You gotta put ice Cube above Wayne.
- 48:33Speaker 3: I wouldn't be mad at someone who did.
- 48:35Speaker 2: I don't I put common Wayne.
- 48:38Speaker 1: You West Coast too common. I don't know if I
- 48:40Speaker 1: put them above Wayne, but b I knew b By
- 48:43Speaker 1: heart in middle school.
- 48:44Speaker 2: I put big Boy above Little Wayne. Okay, we got
- 48:46Speaker 2: to stop the big boy dish. We can't. We can't
- 48:48Speaker 2: split them up.
- 48:49Speaker 3: You just can't split them up. You know, I feel
- 48:51Speaker 3: you with that.
- 48:51Speaker 2: I put DMX above Little Wayne.
- 48:53Speaker 3: I'm not mad at that.
- 48:55Speaker 2: I got Little Wayne like nineteen I mean Wayne.
- 48:59Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. Did I leave out Tupac?
- 49:01Speaker 2: I think I did?
- 49:02Speaker 3: Yeah, Tupac too, But I mean there's so many like.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Just I want to know to give you the crazy
- 49:10Speaker 2: hot take, that's not that crazy for people who know me.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Freddy Gibbs is better than Lil Wayne. He has a
- 49:15Speaker 2: better biography.
- 49:16Speaker 3: I'm not rocket. I love Gibbs too.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Better discography, better rapper. I think a wrap circles around
- 49:23Speaker 2: Little Wayne.
- 49:23Speaker 3: Emotionally. Wayne just does so much for me.
- 49:25Speaker 2: I'm nostalgically, I gues, yeah, he just he means so
- 49:28Speaker 2: Black Thought is a better rapper than Litla Wayne.
- 49:30Speaker 3: I'm not mad at that.
- 49:31Speaker 2: And the Roots discography is better than Lil Wayne's discography.
- 49:34Speaker 1: I'm not mad at that. I'm not mad at that. Like,
- 49:36Speaker 1: I won't fight you on that.
- 49:37Speaker 2: What about Kanye Kanye conversation gets interesting because we know
- 49:43Speaker 2: he hasn't written a lot of his own stuff, but
- 49:46Speaker 2: he has written a lot of his own stuff. Yeah yes,
- 49:48Speaker 2: But as an artist, I mean that he's top tier.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I mean Kanye Kanye but has some of
- 49:54Speaker 1: the best, has probably the best.
- 49:56Speaker 2: I think he is probably my favorite artist of all time,
- 50:00Speaker 2: but I couldn't be as my favorite rapper of all times,
- 50:02Speaker 2: like the best. I think Hove is the one like that.
- 50:04Speaker 1: I think, Yeah, I think Wayne. I mean, I think
- 50:06Speaker 1: jay Z is definitely like one.
- 50:08Speaker 2: To me. Jy is like the one guy who, even
- 50:10Speaker 2: if you don't agree with it, you can't really argue.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Again Yeah yeah, because like all across the board, whether
- 50:15Speaker 1: it's lyricism or or even sales, you can't really.
- 50:18Speaker 2: And then I got Nas right there.
- 50:19Speaker 3: Yeah that's cool. My middle name is Nas, like I
- 50:22Speaker 3: love Nas.
- 50:22Speaker 2: And then number three it's Kendrick Lamar.
- 50:25Speaker 3: I'm not mad at that. I mean, I'm not mad
- 50:28Speaker 3: at that he.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Took Drake's head out. I'm not put it on a
- 50:31Speaker 2: spike in front of his house and content. I'm not
- 50:34Speaker 2: mad at that at all.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Like I said, Kendricks in my Top five tens.
- 50:37Speaker 2: I've been saying this, I've been saying, like, you know,
- 50:38Speaker 2: a lot of people, a lot of people in my
- 50:40Speaker 2: generation to put Biggie in their top two three one
- 50:43Speaker 2: off of two albums. Yeah, Kendricks, Kendricks, we want to
- 50:48Speaker 2: talk about the best discographies.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Yeah, you got it.
- 50:51Speaker 2: And he's checked every box. Yes, lyrically he is.
- 50:55Speaker 3: I think, Yeah, I think. I think what he's done
- 50:56Speaker 3: is unprecedented.
- 50:57Speaker 2: For sure.
- 50:57Speaker 3: He's dropped bangers, bangers, He's dropped he's on the beat.
- 51:01Speaker 2: He's one of the beat hip hop history.
- 51:03Speaker 3: He's dropped bangers, he's.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Dropped the awards, got the classics.
- 51:05Speaker 3: He's dropped like cultural movements as songs. Yeah, what else
- 51:09Speaker 3: do you need? Yeah? Yeah, for sure. I mean, you're
- 51:13Speaker 3: not wrong, You're not wrong.
- 51:14Speaker 2: I think if they're now let me know if you
- 51:16Speaker 2: think this is crazy. If there were to be an
- 51:17Speaker 2: argument against jay Z that most people couldn't argue against,
- 51:22Speaker 2: if you were to just lay everything out, how do
- 51:25Speaker 2: you feel separate? I think Kendrick has the best argument
- 51:28Speaker 2: against Hope.
- 51:30Speaker 3: You you want to know what my pushback on that is?
- 51:35Speaker 2: Uh?
- 51:36Speaker 3: Material?
- 51:36Speaker 1: I think I think Kendrick's material is like obviously, but
- 51:40Speaker 1: I think more. I need more volume for me to
- 51:43Speaker 1: say that Hope has fourteen albums.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Not all of them are good, Not all of them
- 51:48Speaker 2: are good, most of them. Listen, he could have keep that,
- 51:54Speaker 2: could have kept Magna Carter could have kept that. Listen.
- 51:57Speaker 2: I'm going to give him a past because I love
- 51:59Speaker 2: the Volume one. I love Volume one. It aged gracefully.
- 52:02Speaker 1: I I bump Volume one every day, like not every day,
- 52:06Speaker 1: but like once a week for sure.
- 52:08Speaker 2: What But but my thing is is if we talk
- 52:12Speaker 2: about the span, like James first album is ninety six, right,
- 52:15Speaker 2: so it's like we're in two that.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Was thirty thirty years ago. It's the it's the anniversary year.
- 52:21Speaker 2: Of Kendricks first album was twenty twelve. Yes, So if
- 52:25Speaker 2: you're looking at just timeline, I.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Mean yeah, like I mean, don't get me wrong, He's
- 52:28Speaker 1: what the most of what a rapper is.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Also, Blueprint three wasn't great, but it wasn't it wasn't
- 52:34Speaker 2: It did have Empire state of mind on it. His
- 52:36Speaker 2: biggest thing.
- 52:36Speaker 3: He had run this town. Run This town was great.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Run this town was great. But as as a project.
- 52:43Speaker 1: It doesn't amount to Blue Blueprint too though. Two point
- 52:45Speaker 1: some of the best ship two.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Points like to Meet the Parents, Yeah, okay, one of
- 52:49Speaker 2: the greatest stories telling songs of all time.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, But like forty four incredible. Four to forty
- 52:55Speaker 1: four is amazing, American Gangsters fire.
- 52:57Speaker 2: What's your favorite jay Z album?
- 52:58Speaker 3: Blueprint?
- 52:59Speaker 1: Okay, Blueprint right now like in my in my space
- 53:02Speaker 1: currently though Volume one has been like the one I've
- 53:04Speaker 1: been playing the most. But yeah, but Blueprint is my
- 53:07Speaker 1: number one like jay Z album, I think I think
- 53:09Speaker 1: it's like just so polished.
- 53:11Speaker 2: I got reasonable doubt and then depending on the day,
- 53:15Speaker 2: black album or Blueprint, black album is crazy.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, honestly, you argue to me, you arguing,
- 53:21Speaker 1: You argue in one A, one B, one C. You
- 53:25Speaker 1: can rotate it cold rotate because I think Black album
- 53:28Speaker 1: is perfect too.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Yeah. What about what is your like, your favorite album
- 53:33Speaker 2: of all time? Album of all time?
- 53:39Speaker 1: Uh?
- 53:40Speaker 2: Did you do?
- 53:41Speaker 3: What's my favorite album of all time? I know, damn?
- 53:45Speaker 3: What is my favorite album all time? I put a,
- 53:48Speaker 3: I put a.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Damn.
- 53:54Speaker 3: That's a good question. You just thump me. I'd actually,
- 54:04Speaker 3: you know what, I'd actually go to Butterfly. Ah yeah, yeah,
- 54:08Speaker 3: I'll go to Butterfly.
- 54:09Speaker 2: Put another check in Kendrick as the Goats for so
- 54:13Speaker 2: I would say Butterfly.
- 54:14Speaker 1: That's an album that like I think, I think, like
- 54:17Speaker 1: I can't just listen to one song, I would have
- 54:18Speaker 1: to listen to the whole thing.
- 54:19Speaker 2: It's so crazy about that album too, because like, uh,
- 54:22Speaker 2: it's it was so good when it came out, but
- 54:24Speaker 2: it was so different than like why people it was
- 54:28Speaker 2: like for some fans it was just too much, but
- 54:31Speaker 2: it just aged so well. Yeah, yeah, not.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Super relevant, like when the protests happened, Like I'm out,
- 54:40Speaker 1: like because I've been several protests and like we're gonna.
- 54:45Speaker 3: Be all right?
- 54:45Speaker 1: Is the is the the energy out there? People are
- 54:49Speaker 1: chanting that tears in their eyes, tear gas. You know
- 54:53Speaker 1: that that album is important.
- 54:54Speaker 2: For Do you feel like, because I feel like we're
- 54:57Speaker 2: in this interesting social space, we've been in it for
- 55:00Speaker 2: a while, But do you feel like any sort of
- 55:07Speaker 2: inclination or responsibility to be more socially pointed.
- 55:12Speaker 3: In your music?
- 55:13Speaker 1: Yeah? If not in my music as a person. And
- 55:18Speaker 1: like if i'm speaking, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 55:21Speaker 1: hip hop is inherently political, and I feel like in
- 55:23Speaker 1: this day and age was so much of politics being.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Like the landscape is just fucked right now, super Fight.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Before the cameras cut on, we were talking about you
- 55:34Speaker 1: like this war is so it's like I feel like
- 55:37Speaker 1: it's extremely important, especially as hip hop artists, to really
- 55:39Speaker 1: like actually like speak to that.
- 55:41Speaker 3: That's that's what this ship was built upon.
- 55:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like, you know, I always say this.
- 55:45Speaker 2: I'm like, man, you know, when I was growing up,
- 55:47Speaker 2: we had like obviously like Public Enemy and ice Cream
- 55:49Speaker 2: super political and there's a guy named a Mortal Technique.
- 55:53Speaker 3: I attach was hell Ya.
- 55:57Speaker 2: So I'm always like, I'm like, yeo, who's from this
- 55:58Speaker 2: younger generation that's going like Big Manson is doing.
- 56:01Speaker 3: A really good Jack Manson is really good.
- 56:04Speaker 2: BIG's kind of damn near o G.
- 56:05Speaker 3: Now, yeah, Vic's been in it for a while.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Chances a lot of them Chicago boys really like they
- 56:14Speaker 1: really really because like even like disabas and like like
- 56:18Speaker 1: femp dots, like Chicago is very very like politic forward,
- 56:23Speaker 1: if you will. But there's a lot of you know,
- 56:26Speaker 1: a lot of cast that's really really like even in
- 56:28Speaker 1: like uh my atmosphere or like slightly above like someone
- 56:33Speaker 1: like a Mavi, Yeah he's super he's super political as well.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Like I feel like it's I don't know, I just
- 56:39Speaker 1: I think it's extremely important to really really stand on
- 56:41Speaker 1: like your morals and your beliefs, especially as an artist.
- 56:46Speaker 1: You gotta let that you speak, all right.
- 56:47Speaker 2: So your album is out, it's called Save the Vinyls out.
- 56:51Speaker 3: Yet not yet, we're working on the vinyl And.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Then there's this super project coming out that you and
- 56:57Speaker 2: a bunch of other rappers steriously. I don't know, we'll
- 57:01Speaker 2: see what we'll see, Ben Riley, Jeremy heck snitched on y'all. Jeremy,
- 57:07Speaker 2: What a heck of a guy. What a heck of
- 57:10Speaker 2: a guy. So, yeah, man, you got a lot. Obviously,
- 57:14Speaker 2: this year is going to be super busy for you.
- 57:15Speaker 2: Are you jumping on any one else's tour this year? Possibly?
- 57:19Speaker 3: We're still working that out.
- 57:20Speaker 2: Yeah, so this run of dates might not be the
- 57:24Speaker 2: last time to see you on the road in twenty
- 57:25Speaker 2: twenty six.
- 57:26Speaker 3: I will hope not. Yeah, we'll see, Yeah, we'll see.
- 57:29Speaker 2: And then I'm assuming. I mean, you gotta have some
- 57:30Speaker 2: music coming this year outside of the supergroup.
- 57:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what you're talking about, but yeah,
- 57:36Speaker 1: the goal is to have some some more, some more,
- 57:39Speaker 1: a lot of dope stuff drop before the years.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Of Sure there it is, man, Ben Riley. We're gonna
- 57:43Speaker 2: have you do a freestyle too, which will come out
- 57:44Speaker 2: on a later date okay, but I appreciate you for
- 57:47Speaker 2: pulling up Man. The albums incredible.
- 57:49Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 57:49Speaker 2: You are a bright light amongst this new generation of
- 57:53Speaker 2: bullshit that's been coming.
- 57:54Speaker 3: I appreciate it.
- 57:55Speaker 2: Yes, sir, appreciate you. Man. There it is. Hey, we
- 57:58Speaker 2: got to wrap up this interview. Another one is that
- 58:00Speaker 2: and by Hardean, Baby, you already know what it is.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Shout out to Hardeen for presenting another episode of the
- 58:05Speaker 2: Bootleg Lap podcast. Don't forget when you're in Vegas, you're
- 58:08Speaker 2: getting that tax, you getting that uber say take me
- 58:10Speaker 2: to Harden, the number one cannabis dispensary in the world.

- 58:17Speaker 2: and then they break down all what all the terps mean.
- 58:19Speaker 2: It's incredible. Go to Harden Underscore Las Vegas, shoot them
- 58:23Speaker 2: a follow and when you're in Las Vegas and make
