So this video popped up on X and I watched it and I was like, Oh
• 0:50
my gosh. This I think sums up what we've
• 0:54
experienced over the last 50 years.
• 0:56
But even more importantly, why we choose to look at sound money
• 1:01
options. And again, I'm going to warn
• 1:03
you, there's a shocker at the end of this video.
• 1:05
So we're going to start watching the video.
• 1:08
I'll pause it a few times and give you some commentary.
• 1:11
Here we go guys. Let's put it up on full screen
• 1:15
and get us back to the very beginning.
• 1:19
Here we go. America's gold was supposed to
• 1:21
back the dollar. Leaving the gold standard was
• 1:24
the most costly mistake we ever made.
• 1:32
What was so bad about gold? It kept them honest, but they
• 1:36
wanted power. You know, kid, folks today think
• 1:40
this is just how life supposed to.
• 1:41
  Be. What do you mean?
• 1:43
Back in my day, one job could feed a family.
• 1:46
My mother stayed home, father worked and we ate together every
• 1:50
  night. Didn't realize.
• 1:52
Now I want you to think about that.
• 1:54
I was born in 1970. the United States went off the gold
• 1:58
standard in 1971. I can tell you I grew up in a
• 2:01
very middle class family. I'm a middle class guy.
• 2:04
I was actually in the steel Workers Union during summers
• 2:07
when I went to college. But back then my dad just had to
• 2:11
work and we had a great life, a nice middle class home, 2 cars,
• 2:16
we even went to Disney World. What happened?
• 2:19
Oh, we went off the gold standard and by the the time I
• 2:22
was 10 years old in 1980, guess what my mom had to go to work
• 2:28
Guys, this gets even better. I'm going to go back to the
• 2:31
video because that's what you really want to see, not me.
• 2:34
And let's keep watching that's. How good we had it after the
• 2:39
World War they promised gold backed dollars, but they broke
• 2:43
that promise. They printed paper backed by
• 2:46
nothing, funded wars we couldn't afford and shouldn't have been
• 2:49
involved in. But France caught on and sent a
• 2:53
warship. We're going to stop there for a
• 2:54
second. So what really brought on this
• 2:57
end of the gold standard of sound money in this country was
• 3:02
a lot of people say the Vietnam War because they needed more
• 3:05
money to pay for the Vietnam War, but they didn't have gold.
• 3:10
So that's why President Richard Nixon on August 15th, 1971, went
• 3:15
live to the United States people and said he was temporarily
• 3:21
taking the dollar off the gold standard temporarily.
• 3:26
Here we stand, what, 54 years later and it's still temporarily
• 3:32
off the gold standard, off gold being backed by gold.
• 3:35
But what's crazy to realize is the fact that during that period
• 3:40
from 1971 through today, the US dollar has lost 99% of its value
• 3:49
versus gold. Yes, the dollars down 99% in
• 3:53
value versus gold from August 15th, 1971, when President
• 3:57
Richard Nixon temporarily took us off the gold standard.
• 4:02
All right, let's watch a little bit more now, guys.
• 4:09
Back their goal. Truth is, if more countries
• 4:13
followed, our vaults would be empty and game over.
• 4:18
I have directed the Secretary of the Treasury to take the action
• 4:21
necessary to suspend temporarily the convertibility of the dollar
• 4:25
  in the. Gold.
• 4:26
Turns out when you fake the money, everything else follows
• 4:31
and you screw the next generation over and it's
• 4:33
snowballs. Kid prices shot up, paychecks
• 4:36
didn't. Life got tougher and nobody knew
• 4:39
why. We tried raising our kids the
• 4:41
old way, but we didn't have the time or the money.
• 4:45
So you outsource parenting. Yeah, I guess you could say we
• 4:50
  did. Government schools raised them
• 4:52
and the TV taught them bad morals.
• 4:54
They learned debt, not saving. OK guys, so the ramification of
• 5:00
going off the gold standard and it's true right?
• 5:03
What middle class family can afford now for just one parent
• 5:07
to work right and have a house payment, car payments, try to
• 5:11
have some fun, try to eat. It just plain doesn't work.
• 5:15
It has had major implications on society and look at some of
• 5:19
these implications are now next that they point out in the
• 5:22
  video. Houses they couldn't afford
• 5:27
played video games, gambling, antidepressants and crimes.
• 5:31
  Families fractured. Divorce rates doubled.
• 5:34
Birth rates plummeted. Things got so bad people started
• 5:38
  financing Chipotle. Financing a.
• 5:44
There's even a little bit of humor put in there as well.
• 5:48
Financing a burrito. We're going to finish watching
• 5:50
the video in one second. But the other important factor,
• 5:54
remember, is that in 1971, when Nixon took us off the gold
• 5:58
standard, the United States had a little under $400 billion in
• 6:04
debt, 400 billion, which is a lot, right?
• 6:07
Nobody heard of trillions back then, kind of like quadrillions
• 6:11
are now. But today we're sitting at $37
• 6:14
trillion in debt. And if my math is correct, that
• 6:18
means that the national debt since 1971 hasn't gone up by 10
• 6:23
times, but has gone up by 100 times.
• 6:27
We've become a nation of debt and we've taken the world with
• 6:31
us. While we have our 37 trillion in
• 6:34
debt, it's well documented that throughout the world there's
• 6:37
over $300 trillion in debt. And I think it's Ray Dalio who
• 6:42
pointed out all that debt, all those $300 trillion in debt.
• 6:48
There's actually people out there that think they're going
• 6:50
to get paid back. But realistically, it doesn't
• 6:53
look like the world will ever be able to pay the debt back.
• 6:56
Or possibly the United States. OK, back to the video.
• 7:00
And then don't forget, there's a shocker at the end of this
• 7:04
video. Yeah, it's getting bad obesity,
• 7:10
people eating cheap slop instead of real food.
• 7:12
We got softer, sicker and lazier, a nation in decline.
• 7:17
But it didn't happen overnight. When Nixon left the gold
• 7:21
standard, we traded sound money for a lifetime of debt.
• 7:25
How will they ever pay it back? I don't think they plan to.
• 7:29
Both sides keep spending like there's no tomorrow and leaving
• 7:33
the bill to your generation. We didn't get it right, but
• 7:36
you've still got a chance. So take the reins kid.
• 7:41
Hold your ground and don't give up on sound money.
• 7:45
All right, here comes the shocker.
• 7:46
OK, This is a video about precious metals, right?
• 7:51
Start using the new gold. Ander.
• 7:54
It's a Bitcoin video. It's a crypto video from TFTC
• 7:58
  Productions. Thank.
• 7:59
You America's gold was supposed to back the dollar.
• 8:02
Back here, sorry, we're dealing with live here and you know how
• 8:05
that can get. So at the end of the day, at the
• 8:08
end of that video, what we learn is right that the future
• 8:11
generations are in big trouble in this country.
• 8:14
Unfortunate you likely, I likely didn't 'cause it.
• 8:18
We're not in favor of it, but that's what's going on.
• 8:20
But the shocker there is that it's a video that was made by a
• 8:24
by a crypto media company and about Bitcoin.
• 8:27
They mentioned Bitcoin at the end.
• 8:29
And I just want to point out right, like there's, there's
• 8:33
people in the in the precious metals community that aren't
• 8:36
real fond of cryptocurrency. And there's some in the crypto
• 8:40
world that are maybe not so fond of precious metals.
• 8:43
But guys, here's the reality because I've got my foot in both
• 8:46
sides at this point. Crypto people and precious
• 8:51
metals people, we are cut from the same cloth.
• 8:57
They're like crypto people and and, and and precious metal
• 9:00
people are like twin siblings, okay, that are like part of the
• 9:05
same family, almost identical, but maybe have some sibling
• 9:09
rivalry. And it's not all there's a lot
• 9:10
of people in crypto that love precious metals and vice versa
• 9:14
as well. And so I'm not making this a
• 9:16
statement pro or con of either one.
• 9:18
What I am saying is that there's a lot of people in precious
• 9:22
metals and there's a lot of people in crypto that understand
• 9:27
what that powerful video just demonstrated, right?
• 9:31
That money that is backed by nothing right will eventually
• 9:36
become worth less. I won't say worthless, although
• 9:40
there's a strong a strong history in pointing out that
• 9:43
most Fiat currencies do become worthless.
• 9:47
All right, guys, I wanted to share that with you.
• 9:49
I thought it was an awesome, awesome example of what's
• 9:53
happened since 1971 and when they took us off the gold
• 9:57
standard. I think I've got everything out
• 10:00
here. Oh, here's the no one more big
• 10:03
important thing about this. Look, it's really sad how how
• 10:07
the how the middle class in the United States has been gutted
• 10:11
since we went off the gold standard and there's no other
• 10:13
way to say it, right? But what makes it even crazier
• 10:17
to think is that since 1971, because of all different types
• 10:21
of technological advances, and I just don't mean smartphones and
• 10:25
TV's, I mean in manufacturing and everything, right?
• 10:30
That we've had such massive strides in the last 54 years and
• 10:33
technology that actually life should be easier.
• 10:37
The average person could have a lifestyle, should some would
• 10:42
argue have a lifestyle even better than that lifestyle that
• 10:46
most families enjoyed back in 1971, which most middle class
• 10:50
families today would find envious, right?
• 10:53
My house I'm living in was built in 1965.
• 10:56
This basement, OK. The people that lived here in
• 10:59
1971, the way they lived was very much easier then what Susie
• 11:07
and I are experiencing today. Does that make sense?
• 11:09
I mean with all the technology, all the efficiencies that the
• 11:13
world has has gained in the last 50 years, we instead of living
• 11:19
worse off than our 1971 should be living better off, right?
• 11:24
Look, what we also know is that since 1971, the US dollars lost
• 11:30
99% of its value versus gold. So silver, gold, when I talk
• 11:35
about precious metals, obviously I'm talking about both.
• 11:39
They've proven themselves as a sound way to protect our wealth.
• 11:43
I want to say thank you to channel sponsor First Mint.
• 11:46
There a mint in Las Vegas, NV creating world class silver
• 11:50
bullion products. If you want to get your hands on
• 11:53
some silver, here's their latest Las Vegas round.
• 11:57
I love this thing. I love the products they make,
• 11:59
  which are all unique. OK.
• 12:01
They're part of First Majestic Silver.
• 12:04
And so First Mint has a unique advantage, right?
• 12:07
When you buy silver from First Mint, it's coming from the mine
• 12:11
directly to the mint, directly to you.
• 12:13
There's no COMEX, no LBMA involved in that.
• 12:16
You can learn about them at First mint.com and there's a
• 12:19
discount code VIP RB and of course our friends at first
• 12:24
mining gold, right? They're a gold.
• 12:26
They've got millions of Oz of gold in the ground in Canada.
• 12:30
  They're a development stage company.
• 12:32
That means they're not actively mining yet, but they're in the
• 12:35
process of developing these big deposits, which they have
• 12:38
defined. They have spring pull in Ontario
• 12:41
and Du Parquet in Quebec. It's gold in the ground and
• 12:45
we're talking about millions of Oz.
• 12:47
You can learn more about them at firstmininggold.com.
• 12:50
Also, of course, thank you to the cryptocurrency hardware
• 12:53
wallet security leader and Moon Pay for sponsoring Ron's
• 12:57
  basement. Have a great day.
• 12:59
I hope you enjoyed that video. I hope you found it as moving as
• 13:03
I did. I thought that it was very well
• 13:06
produced and then the shocker at the end that it actually came
• 13:10
from a crypto media company. Have a great day, be good to
• 13:13
yourself, and I'll look forward to seeing you soon.
• 13:16
  Bye bye.
