- 0:45So this video popped up on X and I watched it and I was like, Oh
- 0:50my gosh. This I think sums up what we've
- 0:54experienced over the last 50 years.
- 0:56But even more importantly, why we choose to look at sound money
- 1:01options. And again, I'm going to warn
- 1:03you, there's a shocker at the end of this video.
- 1:05So we're going to start watching the video.
- 1:08I'll pause it a few times and give you some commentary.
- 1:11Here we go guys. Let's put it up on full screen
- 1:15and get us back to the very beginning.
- 1:19Here we go. America's gold was supposed to
- 1:21back the dollar. Leaving the gold standard was
- 1:24the most costly mistake we ever made.
- 1:32What was so bad about gold? It kept them honest, but they
- 1:36wanted power. You know, kid, folks today think
- 1:40this is just how life supposed to.
- 1:41Be. What do you mean?
- 1:43Back in my day, one job could feed a family.
- 1:46My mother stayed home, father worked and we ate together every
- 1:50night. Didn't realize.
- 1:52Now I want you to think about that.
- 1:54I was born in 1970. the United States went off the gold
- 1:58standard in 1971. I can tell you I grew up in a
- 2:01very middle class family. I'm a middle class guy.
- 2:04I was actually in the steel Workers Union during summers
- 2:07when I went to college. But back then my dad just had to
- 2:11work and we had a great life, a nice middle class home, 2 cars,
- 2:16we even went to Disney World. What happened?
- 2:19Oh, we went off the gold standard and by the the time I
- 2:22was 10 years old in 1980, guess what my mom had to go to work
- 2:28Guys, this gets even better. I'm going to go back to the
- 2:31video because that's what you really want to see, not me.
- 2:34And let's keep watching that's. How good we had it after the
- 2:39World War they promised gold backed dollars, but they broke
- 2:43that promise. They printed paper backed by
- 2:46nothing, funded wars we couldn't afford and shouldn't have been
- 2:49involved in. But France caught on and sent a
- 2:53warship. We're going to stop there for a
- 2:54second. So what really brought on this
- 2:57end of the gold standard of sound money in this country was
- 3:02a lot of people say the Vietnam War because they needed more
- 3:05money to pay for the Vietnam War, but they didn't have gold.
- 3:10So that's why President Richard Nixon on August 15th, 1971, went
- 3:15live to the United States people and said he was temporarily
- 3:21taking the dollar off the gold standard temporarily.
- 3:26Here we stand, what, 54 years later and it's still temporarily
- 3:32off the gold standard, off gold being backed by gold.
- 3:35But what's crazy to realize is the fact that during that period
- 3:40from 1971 through today, the US dollar has lost 99% of its value
- 3:49versus gold. Yes, the dollars down 99% in
- 3:53value versus gold from August 15th, 1971, when President
- 3:57Richard Nixon temporarily took us off the gold standard.
- 4:02All right, let's watch a little bit more now, guys.
- 4:09Back their goal. Truth is, if more countries
- 4:13followed, our vaults would be empty and game over.
- 4:18I have directed the Secretary of the Treasury to take the action
- 4:21necessary to suspend temporarily the convertibility of the dollar
- 4:25in the. Gold.
- 4:26Turns out when you fake the money, everything else follows
- 4:31and you screw the next generation over and it's
- 4:33snowballs. Kid prices shot up, paychecks
- 4:36didn't. Life got tougher and nobody knew
- 4:39why. We tried raising our kids the
- 4:41old way, but we didn't have the time or the money.
- 4:45So you outsource parenting. Yeah, I guess you could say we
- 4:50did. Government schools raised them
- 4:52and the TV taught them bad morals.
- 4:54They learned debt, not saving. OK guys, so the ramification of
- 5:00going off the gold standard and it's true right?
- 5:03What middle class family can afford now for just one parent
- 5:07to work right and have a house payment, car payments, try to
- 5:11have some fun, try to eat. It just plain doesn't work.
- 5:15It has had major implications on society and look at some of
- 5:19these implications are now next that they point out in the
- 5:22video. Houses they couldn't afford
- 5:27played video games, gambling, antidepressants and crimes.
- 5:31Families fractured. Divorce rates doubled.
- 5:34Birth rates plummeted. Things got so bad people started
- 5:38financing Chipotle. Financing a.
- 5:44There's even a little bit of humor put in there as well.
- 5:48Financing a burrito. We're going to finish watching
- 5:50the video in one second. But the other important factor,
- 5:54remember, is that in 1971, when Nixon took us off the gold
- 5:58standard, the United States had a little under $400 billion in
- 6:04debt, 400 billion, which is a lot, right?
- 6:07Nobody heard of trillions back then, kind of like quadrillions
- 6:11are now. But today we're sitting at $37
- 6:14trillion in debt. And if my math is correct, that
- 6:18means that the national debt since 1971 hasn't gone up by 10
- 6:23times, but has gone up by 100 times.
- 6:27We've become a nation of debt and we've taken the world with
- 6:31us. While we have our 37 trillion in
- 6:34debt, it's well documented that throughout the world there's
- 6:37over $300 trillion in debt. And I think it's Ray Dalio who
- 6:42pointed out all that debt, all those $300 trillion in debt.
- 6:48There's actually people out there that think they're going
- 6:50to get paid back. But realistically, it doesn't
- 6:53look like the world will ever be able to pay the debt back.
- 6:56Or possibly the United States. OK, back to the video.
- 7:00And then don't forget, there's a shocker at the end of this
- 7:04video. Yeah, it's getting bad obesity,
- 7:10people eating cheap slop instead of real food.
- 7:12We got softer, sicker and lazier, a nation in decline.
- 7:17But it didn't happen overnight. When Nixon left the gold
- 7:21standard, we traded sound money for a lifetime of debt.
- 7:25How will they ever pay it back? I don't think they plan to.
- 7:29Both sides keep spending like there's no tomorrow and leaving
- 7:33the bill to your generation. We didn't get it right, but
- 7:36you've still got a chance. So take the reins kid.
- 7:41Hold your ground and don't give up on sound money.
- 7:45All right, here comes the shocker.
- 7:46OK, This is a video about precious metals, right?
- 7:51Start using the new gold. Ander.
- 7:54It's a Bitcoin video. It's a crypto video from TFTC
- 7:58Productions. Thank.
- 7:59You America's gold was supposed to back the dollar.
- 8:02Back here, sorry, we're dealing with live here and you know how
- 8:05that can get. So at the end of the day, at the
- 8:08end of that video, what we learn is right that the future
- 8:11generations are in big trouble in this country.
- 8:14Unfortunate you likely, I likely didn't 'cause it.
- 8:18We're not in favor of it, but that's what's going on.
- 8:20But the shocker there is that it's a video that was made by a
- 8:24by a crypto media company and about Bitcoin.
- 8:27They mentioned Bitcoin at the end.
- 8:29And I just want to point out right, like there's, there's
- 8:33people in the in the precious metals community that aren't
- 8:36real fond of cryptocurrency. And there's some in the crypto
- 8:40world that are maybe not so fond of precious metals.
- 8:43But guys, here's the reality because I've got my foot in both
- 8:46sides at this point. Crypto people and precious
- 8:51metals people, we are cut from the same cloth.
- 8:57They're like crypto people and and, and and precious metal
- 9:00people are like twin siblings, okay, that are like part of the
- 9:05same family, almost identical, but maybe have some sibling
- 9:09rivalry. And it's not all there's a lot
- 9:10of people in crypto that love precious metals and vice versa
- 9:14as well. And so I'm not making this a
- 9:16statement pro or con of either one.
- 9:18What I am saying is that there's a lot of people in precious
- 9:22metals and there's a lot of people in crypto that understand
- 9:27what that powerful video just demonstrated, right?
- 9:31That money that is backed by nothing right will eventually
- 9:36become worth less. I won't say worthless, although
- 9:40there's a strong a strong history in pointing out that
- 9:43most Fiat currencies do become worthless.
- 9:47All right, guys, I wanted to share that with you.
- 9:49I thought it was an awesome, awesome example of what's
- 9:53happened since 1971 and when they took us off the gold
- 9:57standard. I think I've got everything out
- 10:00here. Oh, here's the no one more big
- 10:03important thing about this. Look, it's really sad how how
- 10:07the how the middle class in the United States has been gutted
- 10:11since we went off the gold standard and there's no other
- 10:13way to say it, right? But what makes it even crazier
- 10:17to think is that since 1971, because of all different types
- 10:21of technological advances, and I just don't mean smartphones and
- 10:25TV's, I mean in manufacturing and everything, right?
- 10:30That we've had such massive strides in the last 54 years and
- 10:33technology that actually life should be easier.
- 10:37The average person could have a lifestyle, should some would
- 10:42argue have a lifestyle even better than that lifestyle that
- 10:46most families enjoyed back in 1971, which most middle class
- 10:50families today would find envious, right?
- 10:53My house I'm living in was built in 1965.
- 10:56This basement, OK. The people that lived here in
- 10:591971, the way they lived was very much easier then what Susie
- 11:07and I are experiencing today. Does that make sense?
- 11:09I mean with all the technology, all the efficiencies that the
- 11:13world has has gained in the last 50 years, we instead of living
- 11:19worse off than our 1971 should be living better off, right?
- 11:24Look, what we also know is that since 1971, the US dollars lost
- 11:3099% of its value versus gold. So silver, gold, when I talk
- 11:35about precious metals, obviously I'm talking about both.
- 11:39They've proven themselves as a sound way to protect our wealth.
- 11:43I want to say thank you to channel sponsor First Mint.
- 11:46There a mint in Las Vegas, NV creating world class silver
- 11:50bullion products. If you want to get your hands on
- 11:53some silver, here's their latest Las Vegas round.

- 11:59which are all unique. OK.
- 12:01They're part of First Majestic Silver.

- 12:07When you buy silver from First Mint, it's coming from the mine
- 12:11directly to the mint, directly to you.

- 12:24mining gold, right? They're a gold.
- 12:26They've got millions of Oz of gold in the ground in Canada.
- 12:30They're a development stage company.
- 12:32That means they're not actively mining yet, but they're in the
- 12:35process of developing these big deposits, which they have
- 12:38defined. They have spring pull in Ontario
- 12:41and Du Parquet in Quebec. It's gold in the ground and
- 12:45we're talking about millions of Oz.
- 12:47You can learn more about them at firstmininggold.com.
- 12:50Also, of course, thank you to the cryptocurrency hardware
- 12:53wallet security leader and Moon Pay for sponsoring Ron's
- 12:57basement. Have a great day.
- 12:59I hope you enjoyed that video. I hope you found it as moving as
- 13:03I did. I thought that it was very well
- 13:06produced and then the shocker at the end that it actually came
- 13:10from a crypto media company. Have a great day, be good to
- 13:13yourself, and I'll look forward to seeing you soon.
- 13:16Bye bye.
