- 0:03Happy Sunday morning everybody. We are back.
- 0:09We've been gone for like 10 days.
- 0:12We are back from our seven day cruise, but we left early, went
- 0:16to Orlando and we had the best time.
- 0:22We had such a good time. They say we got some rough
- 0:26weather moving in between now and 3:00 today, so Herminator is
- 0:30going to be on the lookout. All right?
- 0:35My mind is neutralized. I feel good.
- 0:40I feel good like I knew that I would now.
- 0:45So we'll talk about my vacation later on, but we're going to get
- 0:51right to that Xfinity race yesterday in Martinsville.
- 0:54So we land yesterday at about 5:00 and check my phone, look at
- 1:00everything and all Hell's breaking loose.
- 1:02Sammy Smith. Sammy Smith in the 8 car, turn
- 1:08it into a demolition Derby. He said if I can't win this son
- 1:11of a bitch, I'm just going to knock the hell out of Taylor
- 1:14Gray. I'm going to play like a
- 1:16demolition Derby. I'm not even trying to pass him.
- 1:19I'm just going to run in the corner so hard coming to the
- 1:22checkered flag that I'm just going to wipe this guy out
- 1:25leading the race, not even going to try to pass him.
- 1:30All right, Hold that thought right there.
- 1:35Holy hell. All broke loose.
- 1:37And the art of racing has been changed forever.
- 1:42These young kids have grown up watching Earnhardt, you know?
- 1:48You know, the first thing you're gonna say is Earnhardt used to
- 1:50do it. Hold on.
- 1:52Now. Hold on, Dale Senior.
- 1:55He'd knock you out of the way. Sometimes he'd spin you out.
- 1:59But when he hit you, he won the race.
- 2:03Here was the problem yesterday. We're going to get to this, this
- 2:11psychology of why these young kids just destroy each other
- 2:14nowadays, Don't even try to pass each other.
- 2:19These young drivers, they're, they're losing a respect.
- 2:23The older drivers, the great drivers, The mayor Jeff Burton,
- 2:27he was pissed yesterday. The mayor Jeff Burton, he called
- 2:31him out. Now I know y'all don't like
- 2:33Denny Hamlin. Denny Hamlin said if I was in
- 2:36that TV booth, they'd fire me 'cause I'd call them all out.
- 2:41Every single NASCAR Cup driver, that's anybody that made it to
- 2:47the big time and they've won 30 to 40 Cup races.
- 2:52They said what they saw yesterday was the ugliest thing
- 2:55ever. And I would have to say it rates
- 2:59right there. It's probably the new ugliest
- 3:03thing ever. So let's go through it all
- 3:05right. First of all, you can respond
- 3:09right here, but let's let's just say this.
- 3:12Let's say it was a 200 lap race. There was 100 caution laps and
- 3:18100 green flag laps. It was a very, very ugly race.
- 3:22They were just wrecking each other like what the is going on.
- 3:28It was, it was like, it was like the Joker.
- 3:31You know, on, on the, on the movies.
- 3:33You know the Joker when he blows up and kills like 100 people, he
- 3:36goes, are you not entertained? Are you entertained?
- 3:43Martinsville was entertaining. Are you not entertained?
- 3:46It's crazy. So let's just say everybody's
- 3:52wrecking everybody all day long. It's like, Oh my God, we got to
- 3:55go. We got a caution.
- 3:57And it's like every time they went green flag, it's like, hold
- 4:00the door, watch this. They're going to run into each
- 4:02other again. They're not even going to try to
- 4:03pass each other. It's so strange because if I did
- 4:08that stuff to Tommy Ellis or Jack Ingram, they would kick my
- 4:14ass after the race. See, in my day, Oh, here we go.
- 4:18Here we go. In my day, yes, In my day.
- 4:23The reason we couldn't get away with that is because those guys
- 4:27would kick my ass after the race, and then they would shame
- 4:31me. Shame I Hey, Wallace.
- 4:35Yes, Sir. You want to go anywhere in this
- 4:38NASCAR? Yes, Sir.
- 4:40You keep driving like that. I'm going to make sure you
- 4:42don't. That's the way they talk to you.
- 4:46Dale Senior, talk to you like that.
- 4:48Dave Marcus talk to you like that.
- 4:51Then all of a sudden, Jeff Burton became our mayor and he
- 4:54would call you out. And yesterday Jeff Burton called
- 4:58all those kids out. So Sammy Smith, Sammy, I'm
- 5:03sorry, buddy, but you're going to you're going to be shamed for
- 5:07a while from the greatest NASCAR drivers.
- 5:10And they did it. They did it right there on X.
- 5:13There it all is. I'm not even saying it.
- 5:16I'm not in trouble. But you are buddy.
- 5:19Sammy, you're in trouble. And I know you're a great
- 5:22talented race car driver and I know my days are over.
- 5:25I get it, Pick pick on me all you want, but I still don't say
- 5:29what I want to say. So you can talk about me all you
- 5:33want but you deserve an ass tune today Sammy.
- 5:36Now I love you. Pretend you're one of my kids.
- 5:40I'm a spank your ass. So you remembered that day, All
- 5:44right, from one Xfinity driver to another, All right, Remember,
- 5:50I am the mayor right now. I am the mayor of the Xfinity
- 5:55Series. So I have room to chew your ass
- 5:57out, Sammy. Sammy, you can't do that.
- 6:01Even As for the win, even if it locks you in the playoffs, you
- 6:04can't do it because all the other bullies are doing it.
- 6:08Now you got all those, all those Cup drivers like Mark Martin.
- 6:13You know, I can tell you this too.
- 6:15Dale Junior, not too happy about it.
- 6:17And when you piss Dale Junior off, you know, he had to be a
- 6:21little neutral yesterday. So in my day, they would shame
- 6:31you and it would ricochet throughout the garage area that
- 6:34Wallace is a dumbass. We don't like him.
- 6:37And they'd all raw, raw. It would destroy your life.
- 6:43You wouldn't be able to sleep. You'd be in your living room
- 6:45watching the fan go round because the whole garage area
- 6:48has shamed me. So that's what's going on right
- 6:52now, Sammy. Sammy, slamming Sammy's your new
- 6:56name. Slamming Sammy.
- 7:01That was Sammy Swindell's old nickname.
- 7:04Slamming Sammy Swindell. But Sammy, you can't give up
- 7:13your soul to make it to the playoffs.
- 7:17You got a long way to go yet. You're a good driver.
- 7:22You got a fast race car. You can certainly win one of
- 7:25these races, you and I. I know the rally cry is we got
- 7:31to wreck people because that puts us in the playoffs.
- 7:35That's so stupid. That's the dumbest thing I've
- 7:38ever heard. All right, so here, here's what
- 7:43happens. They got the white flag in
- 7:45there. Sammy Taylor Gray passes you,
- 7:48clears you, and you're going down the back straight away.
- 7:51And Bobby Allison told me this. You forgot, Sammy, where you
- 7:55were on the racetrack. I'm going to say that one more
- 7:58time, Sammy, you forgot where you are on the racetrack.
- 8:02You're like, you were so laser on wrecking that kid that you
- 8:07forgot. Oh, the corners coming up.
- 8:08I got to make the corner. Here's where you messed up.
- 8:15You didn't win the race. If you're gonna wreck Taylor,
- 8:19you gotta finish it off and you gotta win the race.
- 8:23Not did you not win the race. See, that's where Earnhardt
- 8:27would get us. Earnhardt would wreck us and
- 8:29then he'd win the race. You don't got to demolish the
- 8:35other driver to win the race. You can move him up the track,
- 8:38go in the corner with him, go in the corner, get down in there,
- 8:41push him, push him up. We've all been there.
- 8:46Now, if you go back to that Richmond video where I knocked
- 8:49the hell out of David Greene getting in the three, I go in
- 8:52the corner and I pop David Greene in the ass and I move him
- 8:55up the track and I get underneath them and I win the
- 8:57race. Now we've all wrecked people
- 9:01before. I'm not, I'm, I'm not perfect by
- 9:03any means. We, we, we're all bad people.
- 9:07We're all sinners. But the next time you do that,
- 9:09go down in that corner, lift him up in the middle of ass like
- 9:13Harry Gantt taught me. Harry Gantt moved me at Bristol
- 9:16and I didn't even know I've been moved.
- 9:18Tommy Ellis, Hell, I mean, you know, Jack Ingram, I run South
- 9:23Boston one night and I popped everybody Mass, every corner and
- 9:27moved them up track and I passed them.
- 9:30Oh, Robert Presley saw Jack Ingram at the restaurant, asked
- 9:34Robert Presley this story. Robert Presley tells him this.
- 9:38He said, Herman, we ran South Boston one night and he said you
- 9:42had a bad qualifying run and Jack Ingram was behind you.
- 9:45I said, I remember that night in every corner.
- 9:48I pop that guy in the ass. I move him up track and I get
- 9:50underneath him. Jack Ingram followed me from
- 9:54like 15th all the way up to six and I cleared everybody, Pop
- 9:59pass, pop pass. And then all of a sudden Jack
- 10:04Ingram popped me in the ass and moved me out of the way and went
- 10:06on. And Robert Presley says he walks
- 10:11in this restaurant and he says he hears Jack Ingram going on.
- 10:16And he said he said that Wallace moved every one of those cars
- 10:20out of the way for me. And then he said when it come
- 10:22time I moved him, that's the way we raced.
- 10:26Now, everyone's while you mess up, you wreck somebody.
- 10:31But if you're going to wreck somebody for the win, you got to
- 10:35win the race. You didn't win the race, All
- 10:39right. I believe I chewed your ass out
- 10:41for 10 minutes. I love you, buddy.
- 10:44Just a lesson from now on, OK, if you're going to drive like
- 10:48that, you got to win the race. That's what made it look bad.
- 10:50You didn't win the race. 5th place Austin Hill, 5th place
- 10:55Austin Hill in the middle of the corner in the middle three and
- 10:58four clears all of you and wins the race.
- 11:00All right, all of you Xfinity drivers straighten your up.
- 11:05You look stupid. You did.
- 11:09You did. You couldn't even go green flag.
- 11:11All right, here's what NASCAR is going to do from now on.
- 11:19OK, my message to NASCAR you, you can't have a free for all
- 11:24NASCAR, OK? You cannot have a free fall.
- 11:28Here's what I'm going to say to you.
- 11:31It it, it's balls and strikes, OK?
- 11:35If somebody hits somebody on the last so many laps and that
- 11:41person spins out, the person that hit him goes to the back of
- 11:45the pack. That's it.
- 11:47The end. Earnhardt used to tell me go,
- 11:51Herman, I like you because when I hit you, you would save it.
- 11:55So it's balls and strikes. I'm telling you what I would do
- 11:59right now. NASCAR needs to do this.
- 12:01If you go down the corner and you know, if if somebody hits
- 12:06you and that leader spins out that guy, that guy goes to the
- 12:10back of the pack. See, they couldn't.
- 12:12Now, I still expect to find coming.
- 12:14I still expect to find coming to Sammy Smith because it was it
- 12:19that was ugly. Nobody got fined because all the
- 12:22dumb asses wrecked themselves out and the guy running 5th won
- 12:25the race. So what I just did today is I
- 12:28mixed in a little bit of what I saw in the way re raced and I'm
- 12:31telling you how I'd fix it. OK.
- 12:34The way I would fix it is I would say, all right, gentlemen,
- 12:40the next person that does what Davy Allison and Ricky Rudd did
- 12:4430 years ago at Sears Point, we're going to do what we did
- 12:47back then. See, I got receipts.
- 12:51Remember what happened? Ricky Rudd come down, blasted
- 12:55Davy Allison in the ass, spun him out and Ricky Rudd went on
- 12:59to win the race. But NASCAR said, Nope, you don't
- 13:02get to win the race. They they made that call that
- 13:04day. So from now on, since you
- 13:06Xfinity guys are out of hand, the teachers got to start
- 13:09paddling. Some of you, y'all are young and
- 13:14y'all are stupid right now. So that's the new rules.
- 13:19NASCAR is going to do that because I'm telling them to.
- 13:24We're having fun now, but that's what I want to see done.
- 13:27That is my fix. The next time you're coming to
- 13:31the checkered flag, I'm going to say it for a third time.
- 13:33I'm repeating myself. If that second place guy spins
- 13:37the leader out, since that's that leaders spun out, they both
- 13:42go to the back of the pack even if they finish under green.
- 13:47And then whoever was running third, he's the winner to race
- 13:51that so on so forth. So I just, I just told you
- 13:53everything. All right, I think I've
- 13:57addressed that problem. Respond right here.
- 14:02I'm pretty proud of my little speech today because I mixed it
- 14:05all in. I told you the difference
- 14:06between our days and your days and our days.
- 14:09They shame you, buddy. That's the biggest thing that
- 14:13Jeff Burton always talked about. You want respect in that garage
- 14:16area right now, Sammy, you go to that next race, you might have
- 14:20to do what Ernie Irvin did, and I'm going to leave you all with
- 14:21this. Ernie Irvin, in my day, he had
- 14:25to get up in front of the whole damn drivers meeting and he
- 14:28apologized to all the drivers. So Sammy, you do that, OK?
- 14:33You get up in front of the next drivers meeting, put your head
- 14:36down and go. Guys, I'm sorry.
- 14:38I was a dumb ass. I got so wrapped up, and if I
- 14:41wrecked the driver to win, I get in the playoffs and my career is
- 14:44complete. No, it don't work that way,
- 14:47guys. It don't work that way.
- 14:52We've all been there, Sammy, It's your turn, all right.
- 14:58Look up the history books, Google it, YouTube it, whatever
- 15:00you want. Ernie Irving apologizing in
- 15:04front of the whole NASCAR Cup starting field.
- 15:08It it might come up. At least the article will.
- 15:11We've seen this movie before. It's just, it's just your turn.
- 15:15All right, everybody have a great, great Sunday.
