- 0:09Speaker 2: The World's a Bigeon podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Devil's Night, Cabbage Night, tonight, give you that tradition, cabbage night.
- 0:22Speaker 5: It was pretty sure he had three touchdowns and three
- 0:24Speaker 5: out of four of those games.
- 0:25Speaker 6: Yeah, because I think I saw that on the red
- 0:27Speaker 6: zone last week.
- 0:28Speaker 7: Cool Evan's pants would be so tight and be looked
- 0:30Speaker 7: like he's smuggling plumbs.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Alex doesn't get the ans well.
- 0:34Speaker 4: I don't know if how do we get this one?
- 0:35Speaker 4: This was probably is it about before his time, grass
- 0:37Speaker 4: fed beef.
- 0:40Speaker 6: Past free roaming chicken.
- 0:41Speaker 1: It's about you guys being old and me being young.
- 0:43Speaker 1: That hurts.
- 0:44Speaker 8: That's hey, Boomer. But we'll see if she remembers this
- 0:46Speaker 8: one though he's like, okay, Joe and Michigan. Denver has
- 0:52Speaker 8: nine home games this year and eight on the road.
- 0:55Speaker 8: It's actually less.
- 0:56Speaker 9: On the road. I don't see any reason why they
- 0:59Speaker 9: should be twenty eight than scoring. It's bothered me all week.
- 1:02Speaker 3: It really has way on talent, wait, talent.
- 1:08Speaker 6: I was watching the.
- 1:10Speaker 7: Tragedy in the world a forward pass has to come
- 1:13Speaker 7: from the hand.
- 1:16Speaker 5: I'm gonna go on a limb without knowing sho ould
- 1:19Speaker 5: disclosure from the head. Do not know the black and
- 1:22Speaker 5: white rule in the book. I'm going to say that
- 1:23Speaker 5: that would be yes. This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by
- 1:27Speaker 5: Toyota's official website for deals buy a Toyota dot com.
- 1:33Speaker 3: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:35Speaker 7: It is Tuesday here at Let's Stadium. Patriots keep winning.
- 1:40Speaker 7: It's good for business, good for the show.
- 1:43Speaker 3: We love it.
- 1:44Speaker 1: We love it.
- 1:45Speaker 7: On top of the h and the tie for the
- 1:47Speaker 7: AFC conference, not not just the a f C East,
- 1:51Speaker 7: but tie for the best record in the a f C. Now,
- 1:55Speaker 7: so things are things are coming up. Roses, it's Evan,
- 1:59Speaker 7: it's Paul, it's me.
- 1:59Speaker 3: It stews.
- 2:00Speaker 7: Matt Alex in the booth talking Patriots. The deadline for
- 2:05Speaker 7: the trades today at four o'clock.
- 2:07Speaker 5: The deadline for the trades, Yes, today at four o'clock.
- 2:10Speaker 7: Right, a little breaking news, minor news of Patriots signed.
- 2:15Speaker 7: Reportedly Jerry Rice's son, Brendan Rice, wide receiver.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Yeah, we talked a practice squad, senior bull guy.
- 2:27Speaker 9: He might end of the senior Bowl. We kicked his
- 2:29Speaker 9: name around during that draft, but has not had a
- 2:32Speaker 9: great NFL career, hasn't done much of anything.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Twelve touchdowns with USC, is that right?
- 2:38Speaker 9: Yeah? Yeah, there's a good college player. Yeah, seeming to
- 2:42Speaker 9: be an outside speed any speed, No more like a
- 2:45Speaker 9: contested catch, big body of his favorite.
- 2:48Speaker 7: So not something we should be like, Oh okay, he
- 2:50Speaker 7: could help out while Booty's at the hamstring.
- 2:54Speaker 3: No, okay, all right, So I don't even.
- 2:57Speaker 9: Know if he's going to be signed to the act.
- 2:58Speaker 7: Of roster as anyone heard anything, any reports Diane Rossini,
- 3:02Speaker 7: Albert Breer, Yeah, well, Ben Vohlan, anybody.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Shakobe Myers on the move where Jacksonville? I mean as
- 3:10Speaker 3: related to us.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I mean, that's as closest we're getting. That's as close
- 3:14Speaker 4: as we're getting, I think right now, at least, I think.
- 3:16Speaker 9: This might be the most overrated day in the NFL calendar.
- 3:19Speaker 9: Oh yeah, And I don't I blame us, like if
- 3:25Speaker 9: stop it, I blame us. I do because like we
- 3:29Speaker 9: have like trade deadline specials and countdowns and this and
- 3:33Speaker 9: that and the other thing. It's like, this is not
- 3:35Speaker 9: this is not the NBA. Like you're not like Luka
- 3:38Speaker 9: Dancic of the NFL is not getting traded today. Like
- 3:41Speaker 9: you know, Jacoby Myers might be the biggest name that
- 3:43Speaker 9: gets traded today. Yeah, he honestly might. And that's not
- 3:46Speaker 9: a knock on Jacoby. It's just you hear some of
- 3:49Speaker 9: these names, you know, Miles Garrett, Trey Hendrickson, Uh, you know,
- 3:53Speaker 9: Jalen Waddle, like these none of these guys are going
- 3:56Speaker 9: to get traded.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Yeah, probably not to see the maybe hendricks line. I
- 4:01Speaker 3: mean like if you're the Bengals.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah, well they're already unloaded.
- 4:03Speaker 3: You're going to lose them and you're gonna get nothing.
- 4:06Speaker 9: I understand. I just every year we do this with
- 4:09Speaker 9: the trade deadline, and every year it's depth pieces Keon
- 4:15Speaker 9: White's and Kyle Duggers and those types of players, And
- 4:18Speaker 9: you're not okay with that? What do you mean?
- 4:21Speaker 3: Like does that bother you?
- 4:23Speaker 9: Does it bothers me? How much attention it gets?
- 4:26Speaker 3: Okay?
- 4:28Speaker 7: You don't like wish it was, Like I wish we
- 4:30Speaker 7: were in the mix and trying to get a.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Bunch of.
- 4:35Speaker 9: Like we're we're talking about like a third pass rusher,
- 4:39Speaker 9: a third running back, you know, maybe depth that linebacker
- 4:43Speaker 9: like those are the spots that that are getting moved
- 4:46Speaker 9: right now, not front line players that are going to
- 4:50Speaker 9: help the Patriots win a Super Bowl.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It's quite kind of like.
- 4:52Speaker 4: The NHL because it's built in that some star players
- 4:56Speaker 4: will move and you just accept it.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Like the sports.
- 5:02Speaker 5: Different. I know, you don't know what you would know
- 5:05Speaker 5: about basketball if Evan drew you a diagram.
- 5:09Speaker 9: He doesn't know if it's blown up or stuff.
- 5:10Speaker 5: But baseball, hockey, and basketball, the trade deadlines involve like
- 5:16Speaker 5: impact moves for all three sports that will potentially lead
- 5:20Speaker 5: to championships. And I kind of agree with Evan. I
- 5:24Speaker 5: don't really think the NFL has that You'll get a
- 5:27Speaker 5: lot of moves. You know, we probably should mention Jalen
- 5:31Speaker 5: Phillips also moved over the weekend as a guy who
- 5:35Speaker 5: I think Patriots fans sort of wondered about edge rusher
- 5:39Speaker 5: for Miami. He went to Philadelphia for that. That might
- 5:43Speaker 5: be the highest impact move a team that is going
- 5:47Speaker 5: to be in the playoffs in Philadelphia that was looking
- 5:50Speaker 5: for edge help, But you're not going to get Like
- 5:56Speaker 5: you look at some of the moves that like the
- 5:57Speaker 5: Blue Jays made that propelled them to the World Series. Yeah,
- 6:01Speaker 5: like I don't think Jalen Phillips is going to be
- 6:03Speaker 5: the difference between the Eagles going to the Super Bowl
- 6:05Speaker 5: or not.
- 6:05Speaker 7: Do you think part of team's reluctance from for doing
- 6:09Speaker 7: UH deals with high end players in the middle of
- 6:13Speaker 7: the season is like fan perception, Like, you know, if
- 6:16Speaker 7: we if we're the Bengals and we trade Hendrickson, our
- 6:20Speaker 7: fans are gonna be like, you've given up? Why should
- 6:23Speaker 7: we you know, be behind you. Do you think there's
- 6:25Speaker 7: any of that?
- 6:26Speaker 9: Like, I think you're gonna be more fans maybe, But
- 6:29Speaker 9: I think it's more about in football, it's much harder
- 6:33Speaker 9: to get a player onboarded than it is in other sports.
- 6:37Speaker 9: Like so, when you sign a player in free agency
- 6:39Speaker 9: or you trade for a player in the offseason, you
- 6:42Speaker 9: have OTAs mini camp, training camp, preseason, you have this
- 6:47Speaker 9: whole build up of how to get that player integrated
- 6:50Speaker 9: into your system, integrated into your scheme, UH, that sort
- 6:54Speaker 9: of thing. Whereas when you trade for a guy at
- 6:56Speaker 9: the deadline, UH, they are basically going to get a
- 6:59Speaker 9: crash core on your offense or your defense and you're
- 7:01Speaker 9: going to get thrown in there. So I think there's
- 7:04Speaker 9: more reluctance to move.
- 7:06Speaker 7: And I could see that if they just a rental
- 7:08Speaker 7: for the year, but if if you have intention of
- 7:11Speaker 7: resigning him and making him a long term part of
- 7:14Speaker 7: your team, I mean, you know, who have you to
- 7:18Speaker 7: do it.
- 7:18Speaker 5: I think that high end players in general, teams want
- 7:23Speaker 5: to hold onto them, like, not necessarily because of the
- 7:25Speaker 5: message it sends. Like if you're Cincinnati, so so what's.
- 7:29Speaker 3: The difference now?
- 7:30Speaker 7: You know, so I get him now and yeah, he's
- 7:32Speaker 7: not up to speed, but now I have the whole
- 7:35Speaker 7: offseason with him.
- 7:36Speaker 5: Oh no, I understand your point about acquiring him. So
- 7:39Speaker 5: I'm talking about the team that deals them. You said
- 7:41Speaker 5: you think teams don't do that because the message that
- 7:43Speaker 5: it might send. I think teams don't do that because
- 7:46Speaker 5: they want to keep their high end players. Like if
- 7:48Speaker 5: you're Cincinnati, Okay, they're probably out of it at three
- 7:51Speaker 5: and six. But do you just roll the dice that maybe,
- 7:57Speaker 5: you know, we can finish strong and maybe we can
- 8:00Speaker 5: convince him to resign, and if he doesn't, you probably
- 8:04Speaker 5: he signs a big money deal elsewhere. If it's like
- 8:07Speaker 5: twenty million. You know, you get a third round compensatory pick.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Yeah for holding on to him, Now, you have to
- 8:13Speaker 5: you have to wait a year to get that pick.
- 8:15Speaker 5: But you might look at it and say, is that
- 8:17Speaker 5: worth the risk of me? I want to keep this guy.
- 8:20Speaker 5: I don't want to trade him willingly. I want to
- 8:22Speaker 5: try to resign him again.
- 8:24Speaker 3: If that's the intention.
- 8:25Speaker 5: I don't know that the Bengals will do that. They
- 8:26Speaker 5: had all off season to resign and he wanted a
- 8:29Speaker 5: new deal and they didn't do it. So I'm not
- 8:31Speaker 5: telling you that's going to happen. But if I were
- 8:33Speaker 5: a team, that's how I would go about it. I
- 8:36Speaker 5: just have a lot of good players as long as
- 8:38Speaker 5: I could.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess if you think that there's hope, why
- 8:41Speaker 3: not hold on?
- 8:42Speaker 9: Well, you just have a lot more flexibility in the
- 8:43Speaker 9: off season. Like I don't know if Trey Hendrickson in
- 8:47Speaker 9: this renegotiation, he might have negotiated that he can't get
- 8:50Speaker 9: tagged at the end of the year. I don't know
- 8:53Speaker 9: if he did or didn't. But you know, you have
- 8:55Speaker 9: things like franchise tags. You have, you know, more power
- 8:59Speaker 9: I think over the thin you did over the player
- 9:01Speaker 9: in those situations, and if you're the team like the Bengals,
- 9:04Speaker 9: you know, to further Paul's point, like Joe Burrow is
- 9:07Speaker 9: going to be back next year, and then they're right
- 9:09Speaker 9: back in contention immediately as soon as he steps back
- 9:12Speaker 9: on the field.
- 9:13Speaker 7: But I think the Bengals have indicated they would entertain
- 9:16Speaker 7: a first round pick form.
- 9:18Speaker 10: Right if you get blown away by an offer, you know,
- 9:20Speaker 10: but because they wouldn't pay him that money, you know,
- 9:23Speaker 10: like they don't want to pay him an extensive salary,
- 9:26Speaker 10: but they'll take a first round pick for him, right, Like,
- 9:28Speaker 10: it's just the disparities the player being like, you're kind
- 9:31Speaker 10: of holding me hostage, saying, well, we're not going to
- 9:33Speaker 10: pay you that much, but if somebody wants de else
- 9:35Speaker 10: wants to do it, we'll let that.
- 9:36Speaker 5: And I meant more like I used Hendrickson just as
- 9:38Speaker 5: an example because he's up, but I mean in general,
- 9:41Speaker 5: like I think Miami would have to be blown away
- 9:43Speaker 5: to trade Jalen Waddle. Miami wants to keep guys like
- 9:46Speaker 5: Jalen Waddle, you know what I mean.
- 9:49Speaker 4: You know, it's hard for a team like the Patriots
- 9:51Speaker 4: to thread the needle of a player who's maybe still
- 9:54Speaker 4: in a rookie deal and you know, has a couple
- 9:57Speaker 4: maybe has a year left and is in a position
- 9:58Speaker 4: that you really need and you're going to bring him
- 10:00Speaker 4: in and he's going to love it here, and you know,
- 10:02Speaker 4: it's more the case of like probably what's gonna happen
- 10:05Speaker 4: with Kobe Myers and Jacksonville, that you'll bring him in.
- 10:07Speaker 4: You hope that he likes Trevor Lawrence and that he
- 10:09Speaker 4: likes the area, and then he's willing to you know,
- 10:12Speaker 4: stick around.
- 10:13Speaker 11: YEP.
- 10:13Speaker 9: I just think it's a difference of in sports, Like
- 10:16Speaker 9: in all these other leagues, rentals are very popular, Like
- 10:20Speaker 9: going and trading for a guy for the rest of
- 10:22Speaker 9: this season is very popular in football, Uh, they don't
- 10:26Speaker 9: view it that way.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Well, it's nine games or eight games, right, So if.
- 10:30Speaker 9: You're trading for rental as a team like the Patriots,
- 10:32Speaker 9: like let's use Trey Hendrickson. If they trade a first
- 10:36Speaker 9: round pick for Trey Hendrickson, you're really only trading a
- 10:39Speaker 9: first round pick for nine games or eight games of
- 10:41Speaker 9: Trey Hendrickson. You're not trading for any future term on
- 10:46Speaker 9: the contract. So like you have to look at it
- 10:48Speaker 9: from that standpoint too, of a business standpoint, you know,
- 10:52Speaker 9: is this really worth it to go all in on
- 10:55Speaker 9: this season on this player, unless yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 5: If you were going to make that deal, right, you'd
- 11:01Speaker 5: have to say, I need permission to speak to representatives,
- 11:04Speaker 5: and we need to get the perimeters of a deal.
- 11:06Speaker 5: He said, you're not going to trade a for I
- 11:08Speaker 5: agree with a thousands.
- 11:09Speaker 7: All right, So if anything breaks with trade the deadline
- 11:12Speaker 7: for the trades, well we'll certainly let you know. And
- 11:16Speaker 7: so of course, you know, stay tuned the Patriots dot
- 11:18Speaker 7: com for any breaking news.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Jalen Phillips went for a third to the Eagles. Would
- 11:23Speaker 5: you have been willing to give a third for who?
- 11:26Speaker 5: Jalen Phillips.
- 11:27Speaker 6: Yeah, Mike would have too. I'm going to guess Evan
- 11:30Speaker 6: would say no.
- 11:32Speaker 5: I'm trying to think about one of the rare times.
- 11:36Speaker 9: What draft was he twenty two?
- 11:38Speaker 5: He's up? Yeah, he's playing right now, one fifty er options. Okay,
- 11:43Speaker 5: so it'll be a rental.
- 11:44Speaker 9: No, but because of the rental aspect, like not because
- 11:48Speaker 9: of the of the draft compensation. I just I guess
- 11:52Speaker 9: I just don't really feel like they're in a position
- 11:54Speaker 9: yet to be buying rentals and.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Trading future draft picks.
- 11:58Speaker 9: Yeah, I guess.
- 11:59Speaker 5: So, Yeah, I would agree with that terminology. I would
- 12:02Speaker 5: have done the move because I don't think the third
- 12:04Speaker 5: round pick is out of the you know, I don't
- 12:06Speaker 5: think it's too extravagant. But I mean, I understand Evan's point.
- 12:12Speaker 5: I guess one of the things. And everybody has different
- 12:16Speaker 5: opinions on this. I've heard a lot of this sort
- 12:19Speaker 5: of you know, this super like cerebral Oh. And I'm
- 12:25Speaker 5: not suggesting that Evan's doing this, because Evan's open to
- 12:28Speaker 5: all of these moves, and we've talked to the last
- 12:30Speaker 5: three weeks, and Evan has been in on a lot
- 12:32Speaker 5: of different guys. But there have been some of our
- 12:34Speaker 5: colleagues that are, like, the Patriots aren't in that spot yet,
- 12:38Speaker 5: Like don't derail like suddenly trading a third or a
- 12:42Speaker 5: fourth round pick derails the whole process that Mike Rabels
- 12:45Speaker 5: and Ryan Cowden are trying to do. You know, you
- 12:49Speaker 5: might get Kyle Williams, And I would just say, wow,
- 12:53Speaker 5: that seemed like an unnecessary shot coming out just.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Saying that the third round can be real good players.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Now we can argue back the other way that that's
- 13:02Speaker 5: another Kyle Williams, but I'm not gonna know that argument.
- 13:05Speaker 1: It can be a crapshoot.
- 13:06Speaker 5: So I would just say like, why are we looking
- 13:09Speaker 5: at it as they're not a player away? I would
- 13:11Speaker 5: agree they're in my you know, in my mind's eye.
- 13:14Speaker 5: I watched the team, I watched the I look at
- 13:16Speaker 5: the roster. I don't think they're a player away from
- 13:18Speaker 5: winning the super Bowl. But I absolutely would have said
- 13:22Speaker 5: the same thing about the two thousand and one Patriots
- 13:25Speaker 5: heading into that playoffs. They're not gonna beat not gonna
- 13:28Speaker 5: beat Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh, They're not gonna beat the Rams
- 13:30Speaker 5: in the super Bowl. And then all of a sudden,
- 13:32Speaker 5: you do, do you give that super Bowl back? Because
- 13:34Speaker 5: you've really won a super Bowl caliber team. You know,
- 13:37Speaker 5: it's a wide open race in the NFL in general,
- 13:41Speaker 5: you have tied for the best record in the league.
- 13:45Speaker 5: If you could make a move that could help you,
- 13:47Speaker 5: I think you should be interested in that. I'm not
- 13:49Speaker 5: telling you that the Patriots are going to screw this
- 13:51Speaker 5: up and they're going to breslow the trade deadline and
- 13:53Speaker 5: not do anything. I'm not I'm not saying that. I'm
- 13:57Speaker 5: just saying like I would. I've heard a lot of
- 13:59Speaker 5: people sort of say the Patriot shouldn't be interested in
- 14:03Speaker 5: that guy. You know, just you know, you know, maybe
- 14:05Speaker 5: like a backup secondary running back for a sixth throw,
- 14:08Speaker 5: seventh round pick. You have all these sixth round picks.
- 14:11Speaker 5: That seems to be the threshold that everybody has. And
- 14:13Speaker 5: I've heard a lot of people saying this, and I
- 14:15Speaker 5: don't understand why you wouldn't be interested in taking a run.
- 14:19Speaker 5: And I've heard a lot of the cautionary tale. And
- 14:22Speaker 5: again I'm not looking to go down the road. So
- 14:26Speaker 5: the cautionary tale of the Washington commanders. What did the
- 14:29Speaker 5: commanders do wrong? They got hurt, but I'm not even
- 14:32Speaker 5: saying that. A lot of people, you h and I included,
- 14:36Speaker 5: thought that they were going to take a step back
- 14:38Speaker 5: natural progression.
- 14:40Speaker 1: So what did they do?
- 14:41Speaker 5: Like, they didn't. They didn't bugage anything.
- 14:43Speaker 3: Right, I'd still do what they did to get whatever
- 14:46Speaker 3: they did, But they did they.
- 14:49Speaker 11: Go all in.
- 14:50Speaker 9: They traded for Marshall Latimore at the deadline last year,
- 14:53Speaker 9: I know, but like what did they trade for him?
- 14:54Speaker 1: I don't remember exactly was that that hurting them?
- 14:57Speaker 9: This year?
- 14:58Speaker 7: He played well and whatever they gave up.
- 15:02Speaker 9: In an age.
- 15:03Speaker 5: That's my point is they didn't mortgage the future to
- 15:06Speaker 5: make some moves, and they went to the NFC Championship game.
- 15:09Speaker 5: What if they had won the NFC Championship Game and
- 15:11Speaker 5: won a Super Bowl, that just as easily could have happened. Like,
- 15:15Speaker 5: I just don't think like the Cautionary Tale of the
- 15:17Speaker 5: Commanders says what you think it says. I think the
- 15:22Speaker 5: cautionary tail is they weren't that good. You're probably not either,
- 15:29Speaker 5: So why not strike while the iron's heart. You're playing
- 15:32Speaker 5: really well, You're gonna win a bunch more games coming
- 15:35Speaker 5: down the stretch because you're playing teams that you're better than.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Take a run.
- 15:41Speaker 9: I'm just not a big fan of Jalen Phillips. Like
- 15:43Speaker 9: that was more. I didn't use any individuals, but I
- 15:48Speaker 9: just to me, I think there's a big term is
- 15:52Speaker 9: a big factor. Like if you're trading for a true rental,
- 15:56Speaker 9: I'm not that interested in giving up a top one
- 15:58Speaker 9: hundred pick for a true rental. If you're trading for
- 16:00Speaker 9: a player that has term on his contract, you know,
- 16:03Speaker 9: Jalen Wattle is under contract. So if they end up trading,
- 16:06Speaker 9: make a huge splash and trade for Jalen Wattle, like
- 16:10Speaker 9: that is going to be for the next two three
- 16:12Speaker 9: years that you're going to have Jayleen Wattle on this team,
- 16:15Speaker 9: which is would be a good move. But if you're
- 16:18Speaker 9: just if you're trading a top one hundred pick for
- 16:21Speaker 9: a player that's going to be up at the end
- 16:22Speaker 9: of the year and is going to get hit free agency,
- 16:25Speaker 9: I I just don't know if that's the best series
- 16:27Speaker 9: of that.
- 16:28Speaker 5: You know, And that's see that to me is a
- 16:30Speaker 5: balanced discussion of it, not like no, I'm not doing
- 16:33Speaker 5: it because we're not there yet, which is what I'm hearing.
- 16:36Speaker 4: A lot of, Yeah, well, what if it's not a
- 16:38Speaker 4: hugely impactful player, but it's a solid depth piece, and.
- 16:42Speaker 3: What are you given up the need? Absolutely you should
- 16:45Speaker 3: do it if if they kind of stuff, that's.
- 16:47Speaker 5: That's the only thing that any of the writers are
- 16:49Speaker 5: interested in. Yeah, and I'm painting with a broad brush.
- 16:52Speaker 5: I'm sure that not everybody say, but I've heard a
- 16:55Speaker 5: lot of our colleagues they're talking like that, like no, no, no,
- 17:00Speaker 5: the Patriot shouldn't be interested in in in Jalen Phillips
- 17:03Speaker 5: or uh, you know like this. You know these kinds
- 17:07Speaker 5: of guys that are you know, these big names that
- 17:09Speaker 5: that are being U sort of I don't even know
- 17:11Speaker 5: if they're available, like Jalen waddle like Patriot shouldn't. Well,
- 17:18Speaker 5: that whole.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Thing is often you know, prefaced with they feel like
- 17:21Speaker 1: they're ahead of schedule.
- 17:22Speaker 4: This is year one. You know, they want to continue
- 17:25Speaker 4: to build it their way. They don't want to give
- 17:27Speaker 4: up assets, like you know, do you I mean, but no,
- 17:29Speaker 4: And that's I mean and I'm not. I'm just bringing
- 17:31Speaker 4: up as I think it's an interesting way to look
- 17:33Speaker 4: at it. Of Like, I get your point, Paul. We
- 17:36Speaker 4: talked about all the time. If you never know the
- 17:37Speaker 4: year where a couple of people upset in the playoffs
- 17:40Speaker 4: and you've actually got a real chance to go. But
- 17:43Speaker 4: at the same time, you know, are you going to
- 17:45Speaker 4: be able to thread the needle and get a guy
- 17:48Speaker 4: that can maybe stick around, or are you that wouldn't.
- 17:51Speaker 5: Give anything suggesting that they should be like giving away
- 17:55Speaker 5: all their first and second round picks, Like I'm not.
- 17:57Speaker 5: I'm not saying that I'm just spots next year. That's
- 18:00Speaker 5: You're just saying have an open mind and assess where
- 18:04Speaker 5: you might be. I just look at the landscape of
- 18:06Speaker 5: the league. I think there were a lot of good
- 18:09Speaker 5: teams in the league. I think the Eagles are good,
- 18:11Speaker 5: I think the Lions are good. I think the Chiefs
- 18:13Speaker 5: and the Bills are good. But I don't think anybody's
- 18:15Speaker 5: great this year now, and anyone's great.
- 18:18Speaker 7: If you can pick up somebody who can be part
- 18:22Speaker 7: of that building process and you you know, and you
- 18:27Speaker 7: think that the player is good, yeah you should look
- 18:29Speaker 7: into it.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 18:31Speaker 7: I don't like the whole rental idea either, if it's
- 18:33Speaker 7: everything anything more than a fourth round pick or whatever.
- 18:37Speaker 7: But if it's the first or second round pick, it's
- 18:39Speaker 7: got to be somebody who I think is part of
- 18:41Speaker 7: that building process and can help me, now, you know,
- 18:44Speaker 7: I think then I'll think about it absolutely.
- 18:47Speaker 9: But then like going back full circle, back to like
- 18:49Speaker 9: Trey Henderson, like that's you're training for like a thirty
- 18:52Speaker 9: one year old pass rusher.
- 18:54Speaker 3: So you know, you have to weigh everything, right.
- 18:56Speaker 9: I saw all these age contracts or you know, term
- 18:59Speaker 9: in the contract, all these different types of things I
- 19:02Speaker 9: think are I'm not necessarily saying that it should have
- 19:06Speaker 9: and shouldn't, but this is what teams weigh. Like teams
- 19:10Speaker 9: don't like play fantasy football with draft picks and just
- 19:14Speaker 9: start sending draft picks out for players that are you know,
- 19:18Speaker 9: players that are named brands, like they think about contract term,
- 19:22Speaker 9: they think about age, they think about how it fits
- 19:25Speaker 9: into you know, the nucleus in the in the you know,
- 19:29Speaker 9: long term view of the team. And Mike Rabels said
- 19:32Speaker 9: multiple times their seven and two record will not determine
- 19:36Speaker 9: what they do at the deadline. They're not going to
- 19:38Speaker 9: over extend at the deadline because they're maybe a little
- 19:41Speaker 9: bit better than they thought they were going to be sure.
- 19:43Speaker 4: There's another angle to me, and that is protecting Drake.
- 19:47Speaker 4: Not just about how's the team going to do. But
- 19:49Speaker 4: you're on your third string running back now. If he
- 19:52Speaker 4: goes down and you're trying to get through November and
- 19:55Speaker 4: December with a fourth, fifth, sixth running back, it's gonna
- 19:59Speaker 4: just allow teams to tee off on Drake. I'd say
- 20:02Speaker 4: an investment right now and a running back or you know,
- 20:05Speaker 4: trying to pad that room a little bit to make
- 20:07Speaker 4: sure that you have some depth so that it doesn't
- 20:09Speaker 4: go into a game where you've got the corpse of
- 20:11Speaker 4: Stephen Jackson out there and Drake may's going to have
- 20:14Speaker 4: to drop back forty to fifty times, maybe depending on
- 20:16Speaker 4: how the game unfold. So I think there's an element
- 20:18Speaker 4: to me too of protecting that side of the ball,
- 20:21Speaker 4: and I and to a lesser extent, the defensive imposition.
- 20:24Speaker 4: Like I just like in some regard, I feel like
- 20:26Speaker 4: the Patriots already playing with house money this year. They
- 20:28Speaker 4: are going to make the playoffs, you know, with the
- 20:31Speaker 4: team as currently constituted. But I don't want to get
- 20:34Speaker 4: there and feel like you missed an opportunity because Harold
- 20:36Speaker 4: Landry got hurt in week fifteen.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, and now you've.
- 20:39Speaker 4: Got Elijah Ponder get thrown into the fire and we'll
- 20:41Speaker 4: see how it'll go.
- 20:42Speaker 7: One of your guys last night, Paul I was listening
- 20:45Speaker 7: on the way home Joe Murray, and I agree with him.
- 20:48Speaker 3: He said, the season is already a success. It's already
- 20:51Speaker 3: a success.
- 20:52Speaker 9: I agree.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I think there's going to be nuanced to you and
- 20:55Speaker 1: there things can still happen.
- 20:57Speaker 5: There's a lot of I mean, I'm not trying to
- 20:58Speaker 5: play that generally speak, but there's a lot of negative
- 21:01Speaker 5: things that could happen over the last half of the
- 21:03Speaker 5: season to make this nothing.
- 21:04Speaker 3: I mean, if the season today, if somehow and the.
- 21:07Speaker 5: Season today, I would say it's.
- 21:09Speaker 7: Somehow, you know, the league had to be canceled for whatever.
- 21:12Speaker 7: This season has been a success.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Correct, Yeah, but have a general pause point though that
- 21:18Speaker 4: a lot of twists and turns can happen that you
- 21:19Speaker 4: don't really know. But assuming that things go forward as
- 21:23Speaker 4: they've kind of been, I think it's a very good
- 21:25Speaker 4: chance that you're going to come out of this season feeling,
- 21:27Speaker 4: you know, very positive and the way more positive end.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Then we got our quarterback and we got our coach.
- 21:32Speaker 6: Okay, this is what I'm I'm glad that you said
- 21:34Speaker 6: it exactly that way.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Thank you, Paul. What if?
- 21:37Speaker 5: What if the second half of what we saw on
- 21:39Speaker 5: Sunday is what we see the next eight weeks with Drake,
- 21:44Speaker 5: I don't feel quite the same about the season.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd have to know the context.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Admittedly, that is an unbelievable extreme that I'm.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Not expecting, and you know, we have a lot of
- 21:56Speaker 3: three I might have then, But that's.
- 21:58Speaker 5: All I'm saying, because there's a lot of things that
- 22:00Speaker 5: could happen over the last eight weeks of the season
- 22:03Speaker 5: that could change your opinion. Right now, wild success, Well,
- 22:06Speaker 5: your quarterback looks like a stud good segue into lingering
- 22:10Speaker 5: thoughts from the game on Sunday.
- 22:12Speaker 9: Well, I just you know, do bringing up the run game.
- 22:14Speaker 9: And I do think there are cracks showing in the
- 22:18Speaker 9: Drake May foundation right now with his game that maybe
- 22:24Speaker 9: you know, you're asking him to elevate a lot of
- 22:27Speaker 9: things right now on this offense, and you was as
- 22:30Speaker 9: the competition has gotten a little bit better, at least
- 22:33Speaker 9: for the defenses that he's going up against. He's going
- 22:35Speaker 9: to face another good one in Tampa Bay on Sunday.
- 22:38Speaker 9: You know how much of that is really sustainable for
- 22:43Speaker 9: seventeen plus games to take a middling offensive line, middling
- 22:49Speaker 9: receiving room and be a top five passing offense and
- 22:53Speaker 9: pretty much every metric you know that without really a
- 22:56Speaker 9: great running game. You know, I think that that's a
- 22:59Speaker 9: lot of what we're seeing right now with Drake May
- 23:02Speaker 9: is there's he has filled a lot of holes on
- 23:06Speaker 9: his own.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Well, what's the outlook for Remandre to be bad? We've
- 23:13Speaker 1: able answered it on Friday. It seemed like it's gonna
- 23:15Speaker 1: be a little bit.
- 23:16Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 4: I don't I mean, he didn't say he'll be off
- 23:18Speaker 4: to seek We'll see, but I assume it's and.
- 23:20Speaker 5: I don't know this, but wouldn't you just assume he
- 23:22Speaker 5: has turf toe, which seems to be the the injury
- 23:25Speaker 5: in the NFL this year, And just look at the
- 23:27Speaker 5: other guys that are getting turf toe.
- 23:29Speaker 6: How long they've been.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Out, like six weeks minimum, six weeks.
- 23:32Speaker 5: You know, Borrow's going to miss three months minimum. Pretty
- 23:35Speaker 5: They just recently he was already missed about six or
- 23:38Speaker 5: seven games. They just I think Shanahan recently said that
- 23:42Speaker 5: it's something he's going to have to deal with the
- 23:43Speaker 5: entire season. It's not going to be one hundred So
- 23:47Speaker 5: if he has turf toe, could he play in a
- 23:50Speaker 5: week or two, probably, but not. I don't expect him
- 23:54Speaker 5: to be one hundred percent the rest of the year.
- 23:56Speaker 6: Now.
- 23:56Speaker 5: I think it's worth it, and he picked up bullets correct.
- 24:00Speaker 5: It's worth it for that because because the other guy
- 24:02Speaker 5: still worries me in that role, and I think he's
- 24:04Speaker 5: getting better. I think Henderson's getting better at it. But
- 24:08Speaker 5: I think some of the some of the pressure on Sunday.
- 24:11Speaker 5: I heard someone talking about this today and I would
- 24:13Speaker 5: like to credit them, but I don't know who. It
- 24:15Speaker 5: was mentioned that he was a little up and down
- 24:18Speaker 5: in that regard.
- 24:19Speaker 9: Yeah, he gave up three hurries, one of them one
- 24:23Speaker 9: of them led directly to a sack but the other
- 24:25Speaker 9: two were kind of you know, slow deaths, like he
- 24:29Speaker 9: was getting bull rush and he was kind of holding
- 24:30Speaker 9: on for dear life.
- 24:31Speaker 5: And like sometimes say about winning, it's just showing.
- 24:34Speaker 9: Up all with those for a running back against the linebacker,
- 24:37Speaker 9: you know, giving up the size that he's giving up.
- 24:40Speaker 9: But you know, I thought in this game, you know,
- 24:42Speaker 9: they took six sacks, and I thought five of them
- 24:44Speaker 9: were on Drake. You know, there's open receivers and he's
- 24:48Speaker 9: just not seeing it or hesitating or yeah, you doing
- 24:51Speaker 9: the double clutches that we saw in the second half
- 24:53Speaker 9: post strip sack, and all the numbers just kind of
- 24:56Speaker 9: plummet after the strip sack compared to before.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Let's go into that.
- 25:00Speaker 7: You say that there were open receivers on five of
- 25:02Speaker 7: the six sacks. Yeah, where was where was the pressure
- 25:07Speaker 7: coming from? Where were his eyes in relation? And what
- 25:10Speaker 7: was the timing of that? Because you know, we've talked
- 25:12Speaker 7: about this in the past a lot of times. On TV,
- 25:15Speaker 7: they'll show you in one frame the quarterback and then
- 25:18Speaker 7: another frame a wide open receiver. Yeah, but the quarterback
- 25:21Speaker 7: there's no way, because of what was going on in
- 25:23Speaker 7: front of him, that he had time to see that
- 25:26Speaker 7: so in fairness, like what was going on at the
- 25:30Speaker 7: time of this open receiver?
- 25:31Speaker 9: Well, yeah, I mean I definitely would. I like to
- 25:35Speaker 9: think I would not point out like, oh, look at
- 25:38Speaker 9: this guy on the other side of the field that's open, you.
- 25:41Speaker 6: Know, insulted him a little bit better.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I know, but I just wanted to explain it. So, yeah,
- 25:46Speaker 3: we make sure that he's not doing that.
- 25:47Speaker 9: So a couple I'll just give like a couple of examples.
- 25:50Speaker 9: So there was a red zone sack for example, that
- 25:54Speaker 9: they had in the second half that they ended up
- 25:56Speaker 9: having to kick a field goal that got into third
- 25:58Speaker 9: and goal from like the thirteen after the sack, and
- 26:01Speaker 9: they ended up kicking the field goal. So on the
- 26:05Speaker 9: left hand side, they are running a little bunch spot
- 26:08Speaker 9: concept over on the left hand side, and the Falcons
- 26:11Speaker 9: have it box, so they have four defenders over three
- 26:14Speaker 9: Patriots receivers. But on Drake's right it's two on two.
- 26:18Speaker 9: It's man to man to the backside with digs and
- 26:21Speaker 9: Digs is wide open on he's wide open. And just
- 26:26Speaker 9: from a quarterback read standpoint, which side would you rather
- 26:30Speaker 9: work the four on three side or the two on
- 26:32Speaker 9: two side. So like just from a numbers like standpoint,
- 26:36Speaker 9: Like you're taught to read the side that has the
- 26:39Speaker 9: numbers advantage in favor of the offense. So on that
- 26:42Speaker 9: one too.
- 26:43Speaker 1: On top of it, you know, so where were his eyes?
- 26:45Speaker 9: He started left, but he should have started right.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Okay, he would have had we saw we were watching
- 26:50Speaker 3: the game.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Both Evan and I relate like on.
- 26:52Speaker 9: That one too, just to like further the point, Diggs
- 26:55Speaker 9: gets matched up with Jesse Bates, who's a safety in this.
- 27:00Speaker 9: So on top of the fact that you're talking about
- 27:02Speaker 9: numbers on you know, just from a read, you're also
- 27:05Speaker 9: talking about matchups like when you have your best receiver
- 27:08Speaker 9: against the safety, that should be automatic, like this is
- 27:11Speaker 9: where I'm going with the football. So there's that one
- 27:14Speaker 9: is is one example. The other example, he actually came
- 27:18Speaker 9: back to the same concept and hit Diggs on the
- 27:21Speaker 9: second read on his touchdown. But earlier on in the game,
- 27:25Speaker 9: he stared down the initial read on the right hand side.
- 27:29Speaker 9: It was covered and Digs is over the ball and
- 27:31Speaker 9: he's just wide open sitting over the ball, and Drake
- 27:34Speaker 9: just kind of got hung up on the initial read.
- 27:36Speaker 9: So he's going, you know, that's just literally going one
- 27:39Speaker 9: to two, like we're not asking him to go one, two, three, four, five,
- 27:42Speaker 9: you're just going one to two.
- 27:43Speaker 11: Now.
- 27:44Speaker 9: To his credit, later on in the game, he did
- 27:46Speaker 9: the exact same thing and hit digs and digs made
- 27:49Speaker 9: the guy miss and scored.
- 27:50Speaker 5: So he did improve.
- 27:52Speaker 9: Like they probably went back to the sideline, looked at
- 27:55Speaker 9: the stills and said, hey, if we get this again,
- 27:58Speaker 9: you know, if it's not open like digs is been
- 28:00Speaker 9: open over the middle of the field in general.
- 28:02Speaker 7: Like, So the first example was a pre snap read
- 28:04Speaker 7: making a decision. Okay, maybe it called for me to
- 28:08Speaker 7: look at this bunch, but I see this. This is
- 28:11Speaker 7: now going to be my number one. On other plays
- 28:15Speaker 7: where he is required to survey the field, how is
- 28:18Speaker 7: he doing seeing the field?
- 28:21Speaker 9: I think he's doing a lot of one in runs,
- 28:23Speaker 9: which is what worries me. Like he's dropping back, he's
- 28:26Speaker 9: looking at his initial read. If the initial read isn't there,
- 28:29Speaker 9: he takes off. And that's been really going back to
- 28:34Speaker 9: the Tennessee game now that he's been doing that. So
- 28:37Speaker 9: what happens a lot to him is that he takes off.
- 28:42Speaker 9: And this is the NFL, so those gaps close quickly
- 28:45Speaker 9: on the line of scrimmage when he tries to run
- 28:47Speaker 9: through the middle of the line, so he's trying to
- 28:50Speaker 9: get out of the pocket, and then it closes in
- 28:52Speaker 9: on him and it's it's like a two yard sack,
- 28:54Speaker 9: but it's still a sack. You know. There was another
- 28:57Speaker 9: one that you know in this game that really was
- 29:00Speaker 9: troubling to me that he had, Austin Hooper. They ran
- 29:03Speaker 9: a seven step drop from under center, which is becoming
- 29:06Speaker 9: a lot more popular now, going all the way back
- 29:08Speaker 9: right to you know, everything is old as new, And
- 29:11Speaker 9: they ran a seven step drop from under center, and
- 29:14Speaker 9: Austin Hooper is just crossing over the middle of the
- 29:17Speaker 9: field and he is wide open, and Drake May just
- 29:20Speaker 9: doesn't throw it. He just doesn't throw it, and then
- 29:22Speaker 9: he runs up into the pocket and gets sacked.
- 29:24Speaker 7: Why do you think he didn't throw it? Only he
- 29:27Speaker 7: can sem I mean he's right oh, right over his eyes.
- 29:31Speaker 7: I don't you know, I don't know, you know, what.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Do you mean?
- 29:33Speaker 9: It's right over the middle of the field, Like his
- 29:35Speaker 9: eyes are right on it. I don't know how I
- 29:37Speaker 9: can't know that. Yeah, you can see it, like you
- 29:40Speaker 9: can see where he's looking.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Okay, that's what I'm asking.
- 29:42Speaker 9: Yeah, And like it's it's a levels concept. Right over
- 29:44Speaker 9: the middle of the field. You have the short and
- 29:46Speaker 9: then you have the deeper one, and that's the dish
- 29:48Speaker 9: right you know, in the middle of the field. Uh,
- 29:50Speaker 9: And that you know seven step drop under center, like
- 29:53Speaker 9: you're not looking to hang out back there, like that's
- 29:55Speaker 9: supposed to be designed to get the ball out of
- 29:57Speaker 9: the quarterback's hands when he hits the top of the drop.
- 30:00Speaker 9: So it's just these are instances that keep happening with
- 30:03Speaker 9: him on tape. Only he can answer to why exactly
- 30:06Speaker 9: he's not making these throws, Like, I can't sit here
- 30:09Speaker 9: and tell you why these things are happening. But to
- 30:12Speaker 9: his credit, on six of the sacks, they ended up
- 30:16Speaker 9: getting first down after four of them because he's getting
- 30:19Speaker 9: them into third and long by taking sacks and then
- 30:22Speaker 9: he's getting them out.
- 30:23Speaker 5: And another part of that is what you mentioned briefly
- 30:26Speaker 5: is that he you know, I don't know what the
- 30:29Speaker 5: number is, but a good number of his sacks come
- 30:31Speaker 5: when he's climbing the pocket and can't get through, so
- 30:35Speaker 5: it's like a two yard sack, right. Yeah, I don't
- 30:37Speaker 5: think the the you know, the strip sack. Notwithstanding, that
- 30:40Speaker 5: was a big loss. Even if he had held onto
- 30:42Speaker 5: the ball, that would have been a ten plus yard loss.
- 30:45Speaker 5: But a lot of times it's around the line of
- 30:48Speaker 5: scrimmage where he gets sacked. So you're not like disaster.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Yeah, he's just taking so many hits.
- 30:54Speaker 4: I mean, that's that's hard. It's like, is this sustainable?
- 30:57Speaker 4: I don't worry about to deliver.
- 30:59Speaker 9: The ball to me? Like that's that there's a difference
- 31:02Speaker 9: between like one and run quarterbacks and then like guys
- 31:05Speaker 9: that really play quarterback and are sitting in the pocket
- 31:08Speaker 9: and are progressing through reads and finding the open man
- 31:11Speaker 9: and all that different kind of stuff. And he does that.
- 31:13Speaker 9: Like I'm not saying it's never happens, you know, I
- 31:16Speaker 9: just think that as we sort of get deeper into
- 31:20Speaker 9: the season, you know, he has the third highest sack
- 31:23Speaker 9: rate in the league right now among quarterbacks. He's taking
- 31:26Speaker 9: the second most tax in total, and cam Ward is won.
- 31:29Speaker 9: So that's a rookie that's ahead of him on a
- 31:31Speaker 9: bad team. That's one, he's two. So when you get
- 31:35Speaker 9: deeper into the season, we get into January and they
- 31:39Speaker 9: have a home playoff game against Kansas City and they're
- 31:43Speaker 9: in third and twelve. The entire game. That's a tough
- 31:45Speaker 9: way to live. Yeah, like you just you're you're not
- 31:47Speaker 9: going to be able to do that against better teams.
- 31:49Speaker 4: I'd be interested Evan your opinion, because Paul and I
- 31:52Speaker 4: on the postgame show we talked a lot about this
- 31:54Speaker 4: was what shaky Drake looked like this summer, and you know,
- 31:58Speaker 4: on the show, I said he wasn't MVP Drake May
- 32:02Speaker 4: this summer, like it was a little bit more uncertain
- 32:04Speaker 4: up and down. I talked about Minnesota too, but you
- 32:07Speaker 4: know that we talked about the pump, you know, and
- 32:09Speaker 4: you can just wrote about it and after further review too,
- 32:12Speaker 4: like that's when you know he's just not seeing it.
- 32:14Speaker 4: So the lack of conviction, yeah, yeah, some of those
- 32:18Speaker 4: not trusting it, not trusting.
- 32:19Speaker 9: It well, even the interception, like he pumps, he does
- 32:22Speaker 9: like that little double clutch that drives everybody nuts. And
- 32:27Speaker 9: I think the reason was is that he was throwing
- 32:29Speaker 9: to like a space in the middle of the field.
- 32:31Speaker 9: But Hunter Henry was actually correctly running the route, and
- 32:36Speaker 9: so he hesitated because I don't think he really fully
- 32:40Speaker 9: was one hundred percent sure Hunter Henry was going to
- 32:42Speaker 9: see it the same way, so he kind of like
- 32:44Speaker 9: does like a little little uh you know, hitch in
- 32:48Speaker 9: his throat, like where it's like yeah right, and like
- 32:51Speaker 9: that was all second half from the stripsack on just
- 32:54Speaker 9: and so that hesitation that.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Like my next point is is this, you know where
- 32:58Speaker 4: we seeing a turning point there we all, I mean
- 33:00Speaker 4: you said it turnover, happens, strip sack, big play, and
- 33:04Speaker 4: now he kind of loses it.
- 33:06Speaker 7: Well so far when we've seen things like that in games,
- 33:10Speaker 7: the next game he's kind of corrected it.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Yeah you know.
- 33:13Speaker 5: So yeah, so I'm sometimes like I go back to
- 33:17Speaker 5: what Evan said about the Tennessee game. That was the
- 33:19Speaker 5: game he started running around, and I've seen that for
- 33:23Speaker 5: like three weeks.
- 33:24Speaker 3: I don't want him to stop running.
- 33:26Speaker 5: Don't confuse running with mine around. It's it's it's kind
- 33:30Speaker 5: of like you know the whole you know, Yeah, he starts,
- 33:33Speaker 5: but he's not necessarily a starter, you know, like you
- 33:35Speaker 5: can run with a purpose, or you can just run
- 33:38Speaker 5: around into sacks.
- 33:38Speaker 6: I know, the drift into pressure.
- 33:40Speaker 7: I know that the PFF grades probably will argue with me,
- 33:44Speaker 7: but I do see that pressure is coming, that the
- 33:47Speaker 7: sack is getting.
- 33:48Speaker 5: Small sunts I think are bothering them yeah, they do.
- 33:51Speaker 11: They have.
- 33:51Speaker 9: You know, I would say, you know, I said five
- 33:55Speaker 9: of the sixty shares, and the blame in like part
- 33:57Speaker 9: of that is like you can't get strip sacked, right,
- 34:00Speaker 9: But the sack was not his fault. Like the sack
- 34:03Speaker 9: was good coverage down the field on one who gets
- 34:05Speaker 9: beat on the stunt, there's no place for him to go.
- 34:08Speaker 9: So the only like negative there for Drake may was
- 34:11Speaker 9: just fumbled, right, So that's not on him. But like
- 34:16Speaker 9: I just think you're on a slippery slope when you
- 34:19Speaker 9: start one and run, Like when you start it's if
- 34:22Speaker 9: it's not there, I'm breaking the play down where there's
- 34:26Speaker 9: open receivers if you just progress past the first read,
- 34:29Speaker 9: not just from a physical standpoint of taking hits, but
- 34:34Speaker 9: also just putting the offense into behind the sticks types
- 34:38Speaker 9: of situations where you're trying to always get back on schedule.
- 34:42Speaker 7: I got the sense in this game that in the
- 34:44Speaker 7: first half, like Drake was feeling it, like things were
- 34:48Speaker 7: working out and like it was almost like I'm doing
- 34:52Speaker 7: really good. And then, like you said, Evan, the strip
- 34:55Speaker 7: sack happened and it rattled him. Yeah, it kind of
- 34:57Speaker 7: brought him back down to earth. But think up to
- 35:00Speaker 7: that point in that game, he was kind of smelling himself. Yeah,
- 35:03Speaker 7: so it was like, nay, I'm a little bit invincible.
- 35:06Speaker 11: Here.
- 35:07Speaker 5: He was in the first game, he was nine for thirteen.
- 35:10Speaker 9: And two touchdowns before the strips.
- 35:12Speaker 7: I mean, he was twelve yards in the town and
- 35:14Speaker 7: then and then that happened, and it was like, oh,
- 35:17Speaker 7: it's twenty four.
- 35:18Speaker 3: I can't beat everybody.
- 35:19Speaker 5: If it's twenty four to seven and a half, Like,
- 35:22Speaker 5: you know, I'll be looking at the third straight, right,
- 35:25Speaker 5: you know, walk away win, Yeah, winning, going away.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:28Speaker 5: He even made I mean that throw to Digs in
- 35:31Speaker 5: the second half, even in the rattles half quote unquote, right,
- 35:34Speaker 5: you know you still see the ability.
- 35:36Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, that was a third and twelve unbelievable throw.
- 35:39Speaker 7: And that seems to be the theme coming out of
- 35:41Speaker 7: it is they had this bad second half, but yet
- 35:44Speaker 7: they were still able to do just enough to hold
- 35:47Speaker 7: on to the win. And and that last drive, Rabel
- 35:50Speaker 7: had the confidence to say, just go win the game,
- 35:53Speaker 7: and he did make the pass and they got the
- 35:55Speaker 7: first down and it's it's ballgame.
- 35:57Speaker 1: So you know, people aren't freaking.
- 35:59Speaker 5: Out, but I'm glad that they did that. Because that's
- 36:03Speaker 5: what teams should do. And I'm glad that they didn't
- 36:06Speaker 5: get spooked because it wasn't going great for the quarterback.
- 36:09Speaker 5: You have to still do the right thing right, And
- 36:12Speaker 5: I'm sorry, and I know that people think this is
- 36:14Speaker 5: a controversial thing.
- 36:15Speaker 6: I think the right thing to do.
- 36:17Speaker 5: When you have the lead in the ball at the
- 36:19Speaker 5: end of the game, your goal should be to not
- 36:21Speaker 5: give the ball back to the defense right, not to
- 36:23Speaker 5: run it into the middle of the line and run clock.
- 36:25Speaker 5: Your goal should be to get first downs yeap, And
- 36:27Speaker 5: the best way to get first downs in that league,
- 36:29Speaker 5: and that situation is to throw the ball. You can
- 36:32Speaker 5: throw it safely, like if it they did there, Like
- 36:34Speaker 5: let's just say for arguments sake, number forty gets over
- 36:38Speaker 5: and gets up and jumps the route on Hunter Henry
- 36:41Speaker 5: and he can't throw it. Well, Drake's not just going
- 36:43Speaker 5: to throw it away to stop the clock. He's going
- 36:45Speaker 5: to run right, and he probably isn't going to get
- 36:47Speaker 5: the first down, but the clock's going to run. You
- 36:50Speaker 5: have to punt, and even in the end, but that's
- 36:52Speaker 5: a hard play for number forty.
- 36:53Speaker 7: Even that last drive for the Patriots in the first half,
- 36:56Speaker 7: I heard a lot of people just just you know,
- 36:58Speaker 7: run it and you know and the clock.
- 37:01Speaker 1: No, you were a good team.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Try to get three the first half, yeah, the first half.
- 37:04Speaker 5: Didn't love the way they handled the end of the
- 37:06Speaker 5: first half.
- 37:06Speaker 7: Yeah, I was.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I was fine with it. Go for points.
- 37:09Speaker 5: They didn't. That's what I wanted to do. Oh, I
- 37:11Speaker 5: wanted to get into a two minute drill. You know
- 37:13Speaker 5: why they got into a two minute drill because Raheem
- 37:15Speaker 5: Morris called back to back timeouts. I thought they were
- 37:17Speaker 5: going to run the clock out. They were throwing the ball,
- 37:20Speaker 5: no drake like one of Evans things kind of just
- 37:25Speaker 5: quickly ran to the sideline, slid in bounds to keep
- 37:28Speaker 5: the clock running. They would contend to run the clock out,
- 37:31Speaker 5: and Morris called back.
- 37:32Speaker 3: To that time that was an option, but I think
- 37:34Speaker 3: they were they wanted.
- 37:35Speaker 5: They were very conservative on that drive until the two timeouts.
- 37:39Speaker 5: Then they converted the third down. Yeah, and then they
- 37:42Speaker 5: tried to get points.
- 37:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:43Speaker 6: I didn't like that.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay, and they tried to stop, but it's not
- 37:46Speaker 3: like they weren't. Their intention was to try to double dip.
- 37:50Speaker 5: Their intention was to run the clock out. Raheem Morris
- 37:53Speaker 5: called two timeouts to say, all right, well, we got
- 37:56Speaker 5: to try to get a first down on third down,
- 37:57Speaker 5: here we go. I don't didn't want to give the
- 38:00Speaker 5: ball back to.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Morris, Yeah, no, I don't. I don't know.
- 38:03Speaker 5: I think that they were very conservative on the first
- 38:05Speaker 5: two plays.
- 38:06Speaker 7: Maybe it's conservative play calling, but not to the point
- 38:08Speaker 7: where they their intention wasn't to score.
- 38:10Speaker 1: I think it was to get in feel positioned to.
- 38:13Speaker 5: Put I don't know why you wouldn't run out of
- 38:14Speaker 5: bounds then on that run.
- 38:18Speaker 7: Were trying to keep the running. But sometimes you want
- 38:21Speaker 7: to do it both ways. You want to score points
- 38:23Speaker 7: and not leave them time.
- 38:28Speaker 9: I hear what you're saying. I think that, especially the
- 38:31Speaker 9: first down run is usually a dead like Josh McDaniels,
- 38:35Speaker 9: we're going to try to get some cheap yards here,
- 38:37Speaker 9: We're going to run some clock. Yeah, that that's that's
- 38:40Speaker 9: a classic one of his that he normally does in
- 38:42Speaker 9: those situations. But I I just I'm glad you mentioned
- 38:46Speaker 9: the throat of digs in the second half, because it
- 38:49Speaker 9: wasn't all bad. I mean, that throws insane. That was
- 38:51Speaker 9: like that, and the fact that he ripped it tells
- 38:54Speaker 9: you that it wasn't like totally in his head at
- 38:57Speaker 9: that point that he you know, wasn't really totally completely unraveling.
- 39:01Speaker 3: He was throwing into a spot.
- 39:03Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean that's just to hit that window is insane.
- 39:06Speaker 4: I just say that anyone's listening and getting triggered that
- 39:08Speaker 4: we're talking negatively about Drake.
- 39:10Speaker 1: He didn't go on the bad list. He didn't go
- 39:12Speaker 1: on the good list. We didn't.
- 39:15Speaker 6: To go on the bad list.
- 39:17Speaker 9: Yeah, it's funny because you know, this is my lowest
- 39:19Speaker 9: graded game for him since the opener, but he's still
- 39:22Speaker 9: basically was a winning quarterback, like you know, and so
- 39:27Speaker 9: like his bar has just been set so high. You know,
- 39:30Speaker 9: his QBR was fifty point five, so like he was
- 39:33Speaker 9: right in that middle, right, So it wasn't like there
- 39:36Speaker 9: was no place in this game. I mean the touchdown
- 39:39Speaker 9: throated pop Douglas is you could watch that ten times.
- 39:42Speaker 7: To think that he wasn't going to have a game
- 39:44Speaker 7: like this or maybe more than one, you know, during
- 39:48Speaker 7: the stretch, is unreasonable. I mean, he's he's still a
- 39:52Speaker 7: very young quarterback who was just really having played a
- 39:56Speaker 7: full set of games for a season.
- 39:58Speaker 3: What is this like is twenty second game?
- 40:02Speaker 1: I think it was twenty second you know, I have
- 40:04Speaker 1: a question for Evan. I love when that happens.
- 40:07Speaker 4: Do you feel like teams are adjusting to him and
- 40:09Speaker 4: teams are starting to get a beat on what he's
- 40:10Speaker 4: doing and starting to adjust now as he gets more
- 40:13Speaker 4: of a sample size, And is that is it not
- 40:15Speaker 4: just Drake kind of reverting to some of his old ways.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Is it somewhat the defenses and opponents are realizing.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Well, that's the other thing. I think that's a good point.
- 40:23Speaker 3: You have to give some credit to other teams.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:26Speaker 9: I was going to actually go there, Fred, because this
- 40:29Speaker 9: Falcons defense number one pass defense in football coming into
- 40:32Speaker 9: this game, right, you know they Drake had the most
- 40:35Speaker 9: passing yards of any quarterback against this defense all season
- 40:38Speaker 9: and that includes Josh Allen to.
- 40:40Speaker 5: Lit him up last week though. Yeah, I had only
- 40:43Speaker 5: think you had two hundred yards and four touchdowns.
- 40:45Speaker 6: Yeah, something like that.
- 40:46Speaker 9: So, you know, they very good pass defense, very good scheme.
- 40:51Speaker 9: You know, they they really shut down pretty much everybody
- 40:54Speaker 9: that they've faced all year long, and they won some rounds, like,
- 40:57Speaker 9: they won some rounds. And you know, one of the
- 40:59Speaker 9: things that they start to do after Pop's fifty eight
- 41:02Speaker 9: yard crosser is they started cutting the crossing routes in
- 41:05Speaker 9: the middle of the field. So instead of trying to
- 41:08Speaker 9: run with him in man to man, they started putting
- 41:10Speaker 9: a safety right on the crosser and if it was
- 41:14Speaker 9: a crosser, the corner would fall off pop and pass
- 41:16Speaker 9: it to the safety. So they did that a handful
- 41:19Speaker 9: of times as the game wore on. They did it
- 41:23Speaker 9: on the strip sack and they did it on the pick.
- 41:26Speaker 9: So both instances were crossing routes where they thought they
- 41:29Speaker 9: were going to get post safety or man to man
- 41:31Speaker 9: coverage with the safety up top, and in both instances
- 41:35Speaker 9: they cut the crossing route in the middle of the
- 41:36Speaker 9: field and it caused issues for the Patriots. So the
- 41:39Speaker 9: Falcons adjusted within this game. I don't know if I'm
- 41:43Speaker 9: starting to see week to week like big picture adjustments
- 41:48Speaker 9: like Deuce was kind of talking about. But Atlanta, there's
- 41:51Speaker 9: a lot of credit defensively in this game. The Patriots
- 41:54Speaker 9: had them on the ropes for like a quarter and
- 41:56Speaker 9: you know, really almost two full quarters until the strip sack,
- 41:59Speaker 9: and then they made some adjustments and they were able
- 42:02Speaker 9: to kind of get a beat on what the Patriots
- 42:03Speaker 9: were doing.
- 42:04Speaker 5: You draft knicks, Mike and Evan, can you tell me
- 42:07Speaker 5: about Billy Bowman.
- 42:08Speaker 9: So he's a nickel nickel safety, a good player, scrappy.
- 42:13Speaker 5: Because clearly they've missed him. Yeah, because the Falcons have
- 42:16Speaker 5: these gaudy numbers. He missed the last two games and
- 42:18Speaker 5: they haven't been anywhere near as good as they were.
- 42:20Speaker 5: So I'm not saying it's one, you know, down to
- 42:23Speaker 5: one guy. I know Zach Harrison been being out as
- 42:25Speaker 5: probably the best front seven player, and he's been out
- 42:27Speaker 5: the last couple of games too, But this, I'm just
- 42:30Speaker 5: in terms of the secondary. I wonder if maybe they're
- 42:33Speaker 5: scrambling and it's taken them a little while to so
- 42:35Speaker 5: they you know.
- 42:36Speaker 9: To that point. They picked on Mike Cues a little bit,
- 42:40Speaker 9: but they really picked on d Alford, who is Billy
- 42:44Speaker 9: Bowman's replacement in the slot.
- 42:46Speaker 5: Alford was the guy I noticed a lot. Yeah, he
- 42:48Speaker 5: made a good play early, but I thought he got
- 42:50Speaker 5: really badly beaten on that play initially and the throw
- 42:52Speaker 5: was a little late. Then they went back to those deep,
- 42:55Speaker 5: deep shots that you know, I guess they were over deep,
- 42:59Speaker 5: over what would you call the route. So I don't
- 43:02Speaker 5: want the AT and T crowd.
- 43:06Speaker 9: You know, each of them are kind of a little
- 43:07Speaker 9: bit different. But they have like three different iterations of
- 43:10Speaker 9: that route. So one of them they just call a
- 43:12Speaker 9: bee line, which is literally just run a straight line
- 43:14Speaker 9: across the field.
- 43:15Speaker 6: That was working because Pop was opened three times on you.
- 43:18Speaker 9: Yeah, the one that you're talking about, the throwback is
- 43:22Speaker 9: like a corner post, right, so he's going to nod
- 43:24Speaker 9: to the corner and then break on the post. It's
- 43:26Speaker 9: the same route that he ran in New Orleans on
- 43:28Speaker 9: his touchdown and he got it. They they got the
- 43:31Speaker 9: safety on it again. Uh, but because Drake was rolling,
- 43:35Speaker 9: it just like took a little bit longer for it
- 43:38Speaker 9: to hit. And then they also have like different iterations
- 43:41Speaker 9: of crossers where you're talking you know, shallow over, deep over,
- 43:46Speaker 9: So like it depends on the exact concept of that
- 43:49Speaker 9: they're running. But they like the bee line a lot
- 43:51Speaker 9: with Pop because he's so fast. Just just run, like,
- 43:53Speaker 9: don't don't try to like sell anything. Yeah, just stay up.
- 43:58Speaker 9: Yeah that part drunken sale are all right?
- 44:01Speaker 7: Eight five five past five hundred is the Hotline podcast
- 44:04Speaker 7: at Patriots dot com as the email address.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Let's see what people have to say on this Tuesday.
- 44:10Speaker 3: It's Nate in Connecticut, what's up, Nate?
- 44:13Speaker 13: Hey guys, can you guys do we will?
- 44:14Speaker 3: Yep?
- 44:15Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 44:16Speaker 13: Uh So my question for you guys today is, you know,
- 44:19Speaker 13: next week we're headed to Tampa, I believe, and we're
- 44:23Speaker 13: gonna have a pretty good game. I think, two pretty
- 44:26Speaker 13: good teams. And my question for you guys is what
- 44:29Speaker 13: do you think the biggest weakness going into the Tampa
- 44:32Speaker 13: Bay game is? You know, obviously Kaishawan Boody wasn't in
- 44:37Speaker 13: the majority for the Falcons game, and sure that played
- 44:40Speaker 13: a big role. And you know our secondary I think
- 44:44Speaker 13: was a little lessy and that's Ira Elliott Wolf. I
- 44:47Speaker 13: think I'd probably make a move here at the deadline
- 44:49Speaker 13: to get a defense player. On a side note, there's
- 44:54Speaker 13: been some controversy or news about what people are calling
- 45:00Speaker 13: class gate, where yeah, I know, I think it's total bs.
- 45:05Speaker 7: Well, Raheem Morris has come out now and said he
- 45:08Speaker 7: was going off with what his players told him, right, Yeah,
- 45:11Speaker 7: so that was on him.
- 45:12Speaker 6: He was angry and he's listening to.
- 45:13Speaker 9: The We have major NFL breaking news.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Oh okay, well, thanks Dave. We'll answer your question in
- 45:19Speaker 3: a second.
- 45:20Speaker 9: The New York Jets have traded Sauce Gardener to the
- 45:23Speaker 9: Indianapolis Colts.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Now that's big blockbuster.
- 45:27Speaker 9: That is big sauce gardener to the Colts.
- 45:31Speaker 3: That's huge.
- 45:31Speaker 6: Let me let me just add So that's kind of
- 45:37Speaker 6: what I'm talking about. That's the opinion. So the Colts
- 45:39Speaker 6: are obviously looking at this and saying we have a shot.
- 45:43Speaker 5: Yeah, that's clearly was their biggest need they've been looking
- 45:46Speaker 5: for corners.
- 45:48Speaker 12: Is that.
- 45:49Speaker 5: I'm not saying that that specific move. I'm not saying
- 45:52Speaker 5: the patriot should have been looking for sauce gardener. The
- 45:53Speaker 5: Patriots have Christian Gonzales right that they're going to have
- 45:57Speaker 5: to pay like sauce gardener next year. Right, I'm not
- 46:00Speaker 5: suggesting this individual thing, but that's the kind of move
- 46:03Speaker 5: that I'm saying, is we recognize we have an opportunity here.
- 46:07Speaker 5: I don't know where they think they are in the
- 46:09Speaker 5: rebuilding plan.
- 46:11Speaker 9: I don't feel like they even have their quarterback in
- 46:13Speaker 9: the future. Like, are you totally sold Daniel Jones?
- 46:16Speaker 5: Is inn preach?
- 46:19Speaker 11: Right?
- 46:19Speaker 5: Just this is what I'm saying, Like, you never know
- 46:22Speaker 5: when the year that you can make a run is
- 46:24Speaker 5: going to happen, right, So, like, is this a dumb
- 46:26Speaker 5: trade for them?
- 46:27Speaker 6: What did they trade.
- 46:29Speaker 9: I'm refreshing. We don't know what they traded yet, so
- 46:32Speaker 9: they year. Yeah, so that's the difference, right is Sauce
- 46:36Speaker 9: is under contract for the long term, so this is
- 46:39Speaker 9: not rental. This is they are going to have Sauce
- 46:41Speaker 9: garden that division four years. I think it is.
- 46:44Speaker 6: And I would say, now, you're Jets.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Fan, was really the season. But by the way, it's.
- 46:49Speaker 6: Really good, really good news for the Patriots.
- 46:51Speaker 5: In seriousness, they have to play the playing them in tenas,
- 46:55Speaker 5: so you take obviously a very good player always works
- 46:59Speaker 5: out for the Patriot. The Jets are in sneaky fire
- 47:02Speaker 5: sale mode too. You know, we've heard a lot about
- 47:04Speaker 5: Breest Hall. I saw something today that they would take
- 47:07Speaker 5: a second round pick or you know, probably won't get
- 47:09Speaker 5: it for Jermaine Johnson. That's another guy. Now again I'm
- 47:13Speaker 5: not talking specific to the Patriots. I'm just saying with
- 47:16Speaker 5: the there's two teams in the division right that look
- 47:19Speaker 5: like they're ready and willing to trade everyone in Miami
- 47:22Speaker 5: and it's crazy.
- 47:24Speaker 9: So the trade, maybe chefter has it two first round picks.
- 47:30Speaker 6: Two first round picks is a lot.
- 47:32Speaker 5: Yeah, is a lot. Now, I'm not telling you it's
- 47:35Speaker 5: a bad move. But what I hate is this move
- 47:39Speaker 5: will be evaluated based on when and how the cults
- 47:43Speaker 5: are eliminated, and that's not how it should be a value.
- 47:46Speaker 9: It shouldn't be well, not because he's under contract, right Like, no, no,
- 47:49Speaker 9: no again, I know it.
- 47:51Speaker 5: Don't take They have a pretty open mind.
- 47:55Speaker 3: When it comes.
- 47:55Speaker 9: I'm not taking it personally. I'm just saying, like this
- 47:59Speaker 9: is this may move makes sense for the Colts because
- 48:02Speaker 9: he's going to be a Colt, you.
- 48:03Speaker 5: Know, like they're traded well, I mean obviously they wouldn't
- 48:05Speaker 5: give two first round picks, so you know, I.
- 48:09Speaker 9: Think he fits great in that scheme that they're running
- 48:11Speaker 9: with big corners. But he has in my mind been
- 48:16Speaker 9: like to any little bit overrated with the Jets.
- 48:19Speaker 3: He hasn't played well as well this year.
- 48:21Speaker 5: He played No, he's played well this year. He didn't
- 48:23Speaker 5: have a great year last year, and supposedly the reason
- 48:25Speaker 5: was he was trying to protect himself all year.
- 48:27Speaker 1: I just I like it for the Colts. I mean,
- 48:29Speaker 1: they don't have a lot of glaring holes.
- 48:31Speaker 4: And I mean the question to me really boils down
- 48:34Speaker 4: to so you're saying, Daniel Jones is our guy, We're
- 48:36Speaker 4: not going to have to worry about not only.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Drafting a new quarterback.
- 48:38Speaker 5: In the quarterback which won those first round pick, you
- 48:40Speaker 5: might be like, maybe not this year, but maybe if
- 48:43Speaker 5: you're stung like you're not getting in the first round,
- 48:46Speaker 5: you're going to be picking somewhere between twenty and thirty two.
- 48:49Speaker 5: But eighteen and thirty two you're going to be in
- 48:51Speaker 5: the playoffs. Yep, so you're one of the bottom fourteen picks. Yeah,
- 48:56Speaker 5: you're not getting a quarterback.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Good receivers, young receiving corps, you know, all under the contract,
- 49:02Speaker 1: good offensive like, good defensive line.
- 49:04Speaker 9: Not that you know, the Patriots were probably going to
- 49:07Speaker 9: be heavily favored in both games against the Jets anyways.
- 49:11Speaker 9: But I was actually just watching Jets Bengals because from
- 49:15Speaker 9: a couple of weeks ago, and uh like justin feels
- 49:19Speaker 9: like Lamar Jackson against that Bengals defense, and like, you know,
- 49:22Speaker 9: they're they're one and seven, but this is really giving up, right,
- 49:27Speaker 9: Like this is really waving a white flag. So I
- 49:29Speaker 9: just really wonder, you know, I already kind of choked
- 49:32Speaker 9: those up to two wins anyways against the Jets, but like,
- 49:35Speaker 9: how much are you really winning those games now? Because
- 49:38Speaker 9: if you're telling the whole organization that you're waving the
- 49:41Speaker 9: white flag by trading Sauce, Like that's like the Patriots
- 49:44Speaker 9: trading Gonzales, right, and you know, kind of sending that
- 49:48Speaker 9: message like last year, like.
- 49:50Speaker 1: The fans feel for the Jets, I'd be sick. I mean,
- 49:53Speaker 1: this is a super talented guy's.
- 49:55Speaker 3: Going to give up again again. I emphasize they're going
- 49:58Speaker 3: to completely fraud just start over again.
- 50:00Speaker 1: I mean, that's the signal to me.
- 50:01Speaker 6: I just kind of like the trade for the Colts.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah, me too.
- 50:04Speaker 3: But I just wonder, like, if you're a Colts fan,
- 50:06Speaker 3: you're ready to go.
- 50:07Speaker 9: If you're Wilson, what are you thinking now, Like if
- 50:10Speaker 9: you're Garrett Wilson, Because they both signed their extensions at
- 50:13Speaker 9: the same time, same draft class. They both signed their
- 50:17Speaker 9: extensions and locked in free Garrett Wilson, and now they
- 50:20Speaker 9: are one in seven.
- 50:21Speaker 3: I'll take him.
- 50:22Speaker 7: I mean.
- 50:24Speaker 6: Who first round picks? No, okay, but you wouldn't take
- 50:27Speaker 6: him there.
- 50:29Speaker 5: I'm gonna guess he's gonna go for the same kind
- 50:31Speaker 5: of compensation if they traded him.
- 50:33Speaker 9: Oh we got no one more other trade not as
- 50:35Speaker 9: big as there is the Sauce Gardner trade. But Rashijaki
- 50:39Speaker 9: to the Seahawks.
- 50:40Speaker 6: That's a guy who some people kicked around for the Patriots.
- 50:44Speaker 9: Yeah, so Saints wide receiver, big time speed, big time
- 50:48Speaker 9: deep threat, like kind of like a bigger Pop Douglas.
- 50:51Speaker 1: I like that one too.
- 50:52Speaker 4: Yeah, and I was just telling him I just watched
- 50:54Speaker 4: that Seahawks Bucks game, which was crazy. JSN this that
- 50:58Speaker 4: kid is playing out of his mind right now. So
- 51:00Speaker 4: now you get some speed on the outside with Shahid,
- 51:03Speaker 4: maybe help him out a little.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Bit and going for you know, the Seahawks are another team.
- 51:07Speaker 3: They are like they're making a run.
- 51:09Speaker 1: They are.
- 51:09Speaker 9: Yeah, Donald's on the.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Top of their division. Donald probably gonna be the MVP.
- 51:13Speaker 9: If he had ended today, probably would be the end.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:16Speaker 9: Just the numbers he's putting up are absolutely.
- 51:19Speaker 7: It's almost a similar situation the Cults where they bring
- 51:22Speaker 7: in another guy. They really have the quarterback another team
- 51:27Speaker 7: and he's playing really, really well.
- 51:29Speaker 9: So the Vikings had Sam Donald Daniel Jones both on
- 51:33Speaker 9: their team and ended up with JJ McCarthy.
- 51:38Speaker 7: So that's interesting enough. Christians in LA, what's up, Christian
- 51:44Speaker 7: christ Jan Hey.
- 51:45Speaker 2: You guys, happy, Happy to see you guys, and I
- 51:47Speaker 2: hope everyone out there and Patriots Land goes out and
- 51:50Speaker 2: vote like a real Patriot, because it's important to make
- 51:53Speaker 2: your voice hurt. Okay, so about the last game, I
- 51:57Speaker 2: just want to talk about the end of the game first,
- 51:59Speaker 2: and stay that decision by Rable to throw the ball
- 52:02Speaker 2: typify something that I've always said a million times. Good
- 52:07Speaker 2: teams throw the ball and execute. Bad teams run the ball.
- 52:10Speaker 2: And hope that's something that I made up that I
- 52:13Speaker 2: always say, Yes.
- 52:14Speaker 3: You, I remember I read that that you made that.
- 52:17Speaker 6: In fact, I took it from you.
- 52:18Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 52:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think Bill quoted you in his book.
- 52:24Speaker 6: Well done, Christian, I got it.
- 52:28Speaker 2: But seriously, and on the football, I think I think
- 52:31Speaker 2: as far as the team trading goes, I'm actually with
- 52:35Speaker 2: Paul in the sense of saying, if not now when
- 52:38Speaker 2: we are, in my estimation a season ahead of schedule
- 52:42Speaker 2: as far as our progression of Drake and the way
- 52:45Speaker 2: the team is playing and the amount of ways that
- 52:47Speaker 2: we've already got So with being a season ahead, let's
- 52:50Speaker 2: treat it as if we are. And next season, if
- 52:53Speaker 2: we were in this position with everything to be gathered,
- 52:55Speaker 2: we'll we go for it. A little more. I say
- 52:56Speaker 2: the answer is yes, and then I say, if we're
- 52:58Speaker 2: going to do that, and here's my question to you guys.
- 53:02Speaker 2: To me, the easiest position to bring on board mid
- 53:05Speaker 2: season is an elite pass rusher like hands of the
- 53:09Speaker 2: dirt edge guy that's just pass rushing. Secondly would be
- 53:12Speaker 2: a rangy or good linebacker. The reason why I say
- 53:16Speaker 2: that pass rusher is his platebook. Getn't that that that deep?
- 53:20Speaker 2: I don't believe. I think it's just go get the quarterback.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Certain schemes drop out, but for the most part, his
- 53:25Speaker 2: job is just go get the quarterback. So let's make
- 53:28Speaker 2: a run. Let's make a splash. Let's get a splashy
- 53:33Speaker 2: edge guy to rush and a rangy linebacker, and I
- 53:36Speaker 2: think we are actually there.
- 53:38Speaker 3: Okay, up the air, guys, have it all right, thanks Christian.
- 53:40Speaker 9: I agree with him pass rush is the easiest thing
- 53:42Speaker 9: to translate. It would certainly be at the top of
- 53:45Speaker 9: the yeah because running back at least, but I say
- 53:51Speaker 9: linebacker might be one of the hardest.
- 53:52Speaker 5: Yeah. I don't agree with him on the rangy linebacker,
- 53:54Speaker 5: not only the lack of availability of those as say,
- 54:01Speaker 5: everything pretty uh pretty impactful trades. Absolutely, I mean I
- 54:07Speaker 5: think that. I mean that it's not going to get
- 54:08Speaker 5: the the attention of Sauce Garden, but Rashid heat for Seattle.
- 54:12Speaker 7: Is these are two teams that just traded away a
- 54:15Speaker 7: great compliment and good players on their team.
- 54:17Speaker 5: Maybe take away and you know, take away some of
- 54:21Speaker 5: the burden off of J. S N who's done every.
- 54:23Speaker 4: He's for that that passing attack I pointed out just
- 54:27Speaker 4: to highlight. I mean, haven't said it when J s
- 54:29Speaker 4: M was coming out and I asked that, didn't you
- 54:31Speaker 4: say this? It was like the Brian hartline said at
- 54:34Speaker 4: the time that he's the best of all those high
- 54:36Speaker 4: receiver receivers.
- 54:37Speaker 1: So he looks like it.
- 54:39Speaker 3: Brian and Lowell.
- 54:42Speaker 11: Yeah, Brian, Hey, what's up guys? Brian?
- 54:46Speaker 1: What's going on today? Do you have a good game?
- 54:49Speaker 14: Oh yeah, I was just gonna say, way wait, think
- 54:52Speaker 14: about that win?
- 54:53Speaker 11: Nah?
- 54:53Speaker 14: Oh my god, yeah, that's great.
- 54:57Speaker 1: One point. That's it on land Romo got cut today.
- 55:04Speaker 3: Did he?
- 55:05Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 55:05Speaker 9: Lanta the kick I missed the actor point.
- 55:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that was something. How where were you when that happened?
- 55:13Speaker 11: Oh?
- 55:14Speaker 15: I was at home as usual and watching it.
- 55:16Speaker 7: A lot of people coming in and out again. Yeah, yeah,
- 55:22Speaker 7: what did you do when Romo hit missed that kick?
- 55:25Speaker 7: Did you jump out of your seat?
- 55:27Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah, god yeah. I was like, oh, we at
- 55:30Speaker 2: least that was.
- 55:33Speaker 1: I was like, oh, that's great.
- 55:36Speaker 15: Well you heard you just had about Clopgate, this clock gate.
- 55:39Speaker 3: Yeah you heard about I heard about it.
- 55:41Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we talked about Clopgate.
- 55:44Speaker 16: I mean, you know, you know, the.
- 55:45Speaker 3: Patriots are back when you're getting a cheating. But thanks
- 55:48Speaker 3: for the call, Brian, appreciate it.
- 55:50Speaker 9: I just, you know, as a ball no er, I
- 55:52Speaker 9: just think like I would just like to man's playing
- 55:55Speaker 9: silent count for a second and just kind of explain
- 55:58Speaker 9: what happened. So if if you watch the play, well
- 56:02Speaker 9: let's start from the beginning. When you watch the play,
- 56:04Speaker 9: the Falcons motion or receiver from the left to the
- 56:08Speaker 9: right side of the formation to create a three by one.
- 56:11Speaker 9: So Jalen Hawkins is in the back. They go three
- 56:13Speaker 9: by one, and he's trying to get Carlton Davis's attention
- 56:16Speaker 9: to change the coverage because of the different formation. So
- 56:19Speaker 9: he does go like this to Carlton Davis to try
- 56:22Speaker 9: to get his attention. So what happens when you're on
- 56:25Speaker 9: the road and you have silent count is a lot
- 56:29Speaker 9: of teams will have the guard, whether it's a left
- 56:31Speaker 9: or the right guard. This case it was the right guard.
- 56:33Speaker 9: He will look back to the quarterback. The quarterback will
- 56:36Speaker 9: have some sort of non verbal signal like a leg
- 56:40Speaker 9: kick or maybe some guys go like this when he
- 56:43Speaker 9: wants to snap, so snap. It's the right guard's job
- 56:48Speaker 9: in this case to tap the center when it's time
- 56:51Speaker 9: to snap the ball. And then the center is looking
- 56:53Speaker 9: forward the entire time tap, so you're supposed to just
- 56:56Speaker 9: give him a little tap then he snaps the football.
- 57:00Speaker 9: Ends up happening is the Falcons are claiming that they
- 57:04Speaker 9: heard from fifteen yards away they heard Jalen Hawkins clapping,
- 57:09Speaker 9: and so the center thought, we must be getting down
- 57:12Speaker 9: on the playclock. I'm just gonna snap the football. The
- 57:15Speaker 9: rest of the offensive line, not the right guard, but
- 57:18Speaker 9: the other three spots. They're watching the ball. So when
- 57:22Speaker 9: the ball moves, they move, which is why only the
- 57:25Speaker 9: right guard stays in his stands.
- 57:30Speaker 5: So something coach, I don't know what hate advantage of
- 57:34Speaker 5: bad foot pay.
- 57:35Speaker 9: To his credit, Milton Williams rushed, yeah, and so he
- 57:42Speaker 9: went and he gets in the backfield immediately. But that's
- 57:45Speaker 9: why four fifths of the offensive line moved and only
- 57:49Speaker 9: the right guard was standing still. So the question is,
- 57:53Speaker 9: is you know when you talk about and this is
- 57:56Speaker 9: what I think Rabel is talking about, and he kind
- 57:57Speaker 9: of did a bad job of explaining himself yesterday. When
- 58:00Speaker 9: you talk about like simulating a snap count, usually that's
- 58:03Speaker 9: somebody up front that's clapping or yeah, exactly. So I
- 58:07Speaker 9: just blame it on a safety is like a huge leap, right,
- 58:12Speaker 9: But that was even before.
- 58:14Speaker 4: Came on yesterday and said the thing he said, like
- 58:16Speaker 4: this kind of smells to me like the guy coming
- 58:17Speaker 4: off the field being.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Like a snap that would you do totally, totally would
- 58:25Speaker 3: have reached out to me.
- 58:26Speaker 5: You guys know me, I would just just to tweak Fred.
- 58:29Speaker 5: I would jump in even if I didn't believe it.
- 58:30Speaker 5: I would jump in just but I mean, Evan explained
- 58:35Speaker 5: how far away I.
- 58:37Speaker 3: Like it, and I because it's a sign that we're back,
- 58:40Speaker 3: that we're being accused.
- 58:41Speaker 5: Of the only the only we're back, the only thing
- 58:44Speaker 5: in fairness, I do want to say, the one thing
- 58:45Speaker 5: I didn't like was kind of what Evan alluded to, Like, Mike,
- 58:49Speaker 5: you watch the play, you did see a guy clapping.
- 58:51Speaker 5: You claims like I've watched it several times. I don't
- 58:53Speaker 5: see what they're talking Like there was a guy clapping.
- 58:56Speaker 5: I think the way Evan explained it is exactly why
- 58:59Speaker 5: Jalen Hawkins was clapping.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Right.
- 59:01Speaker 5: He's looking right at Carlton Davis. I think he was
- 59:04Speaker 5: doing some sort of signal to that all the time.
- 59:07Speaker 5: And it happens all the time. And I agree with Evan.
- 59:09Speaker 5: It's a good ten to fifteen yards away. He's like
- 59:14Speaker 5: ten or eleven yards behind the ball. Plus he's sort
- 59:16Speaker 5: of off to the you know, the the offensive right
- 59:20Speaker 5: of the formation, so he's a good fifteen yards away.
- 59:23Speaker 5: There's no way that sent.
- 59:25Speaker 3: He was wearing special gloves that you have.
- 59:28Speaker 5: To admit they were funny. So I only heard, like
- 59:30Speaker 5: could you hear Felgert? He goes, some guy calls in.
- 59:33Speaker 5: He's all butt hurt and he goes, why do you
- 59:34Speaker 5: think I do it? And he goes and the guy
- 59:37Speaker 5: couldn't like figure out he because it bothers you.
- 59:41Speaker 9: I don't hear the whole thing, but he was taught.
- 59:43Speaker 9: He thought it was like the college offense, like we're clapping.
- 59:46Speaker 9: It wasn't which it wasn't, but I just really quickly.
- 59:48Speaker 9: I don't want to like.
- 59:49Speaker 5: Because it has to turn into there was shotgun dipsy jew.
- 59:53Speaker 9: I don't want to give it away too much of it.
- 59:55Speaker 9: But the Patriots do not use their silent count in
- 59:59Speaker 9: the same way that Falcons do, and I think that
- 1:00:03Speaker 9: the way they do it is better because there's less
- 1:00:05Speaker 9: of like a chain of communication, so it's still just
- 1:00:10Speaker 9: the center in quarterback communicating. So ideally you wouldn't have
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: that issue because it's gotta go from the quarterback to
- 1:00:16Speaker 9: the guard to the center to you know, and then
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: there's like a whole kind of game of telephone where
- 1:00:21Speaker 9: it's just like waiting for a mistake to happen. So
- 1:00:23Speaker 9: the Patriots do it a little bit different.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: All Right, we're gonna take a break.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: We'll be right back. More calls and emails after this.

- 1:02:30Speaker 11: How you doing. I'm doing well. Are you doing good?
- 1:02:34Speaker 17: What's your what's your biggest takeaway from the review of
- 1:02:37Speaker 17: the film this morning?
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: That's good if you can get a chance.
- 1:02:41Speaker 11: To watch that, of course.
- 1:02:42Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:02:43Speaker 11: Yeah, obviously. Well for our game, for sure.
- 1:02:47Speaker 16: Uh, obviously, I'm gonna be more critical on the defensive
- 1:02:50Speaker 16: end and pick at us just as a bit much
- 1:02:53Speaker 16: as we can. But I think it's an opportunity that
- 1:02:55Speaker 16: we have some opportunities to take the ball away, and
- 1:02:57Speaker 16: I think we got to see those opportunities a bit
- 1:02:59Speaker 16: more to make games not being so close and challenging.
- 1:03:02Speaker 16: And I just think overall, like some keep speaking for
- 1:03:05Speaker 16: the defensive end. Man, we flew around, We made quite
- 1:03:07Speaker 16: some plays. Those guys are professionals too, They make some
- 1:03:11Speaker 16: plays in their end, and we just got to make
- 1:03:12Speaker 16: more plays in them for sure.
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: Okay for you, that's gonna say, kalong, big game this week,
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: both two good teams.
- 1:03:22Speaker 11: How much do y'all enjoy the opportunity to play games
- 1:03:26Speaker 11: with the pretty dope? Pretty dope?
- 1:03:28Speaker 16: Obviously we get a chance to to fight adversity and
- 1:03:32Speaker 16: see much about ourselves ourselves, Like I said, very talented
- 1:03:35Speaker 16: team aren't regardless of what media aspects may say about
- 1:03:39Speaker 16: them or whatever it is. But I'm super talent on
- 1:03:42Speaker 16: the field man and will coached. So we got an
- 1:03:45Speaker 16: opportunity to fight adversity and see and see where we
- 1:03:47Speaker 16: lies in the great battle of being tested, and we
- 1:03:50Speaker 16: came out on top.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: You look at them here fall sick or sort.
- 1:03:54Speaker 11: Let's focused on other things too.
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: Saying there we get them on grounding up this week,
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: but pressionally, moving off the spot the potential branding.
- 1:04:02Speaker 11: You lik at that and say it's number.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: Yeah, we like more of them.
- 1:04:06Speaker 11: We're doing a good enough job.
- 1:04:08Speaker 16: Yeah, It's always like a hard balance to try to
- 1:04:12Speaker 16: find between two because you want the numbers and you
- 1:04:14Speaker 16: want the sacks, for sure, But we find ways to
- 1:04:17Speaker 16: affect the quarterback in whichever way we can, Like you said,
- 1:04:19Speaker 16: the tension of groundings. Man, we had a safety last week.
- 1:04:22Speaker 16: You know what I'm saying, just getting the ball out
- 1:04:24Speaker 16: and we're just causing a lot of quick throws and
- 1:04:26Speaker 16: have it up front. You know, whatever it is, get
- 1:04:29Speaker 16: an extra clutch and or call some type of disruption
- 1:04:31Speaker 16: within routes and qv time and so everything matters obviously
- 1:04:35Speaker 16: when it comes to get to the quarterback. But for
- 1:04:38Speaker 16: sure I can tell you that this front is still hungry.
- 1:04:40Speaker 16: We know that we're capable of much more than what
- 1:04:42Speaker 16: we put on film.
- 1:04:43Speaker 12: You said you're more focused on the defensive lines. After
- 1:04:45Speaker 12: watching it takes to like the defensive back specifically. We're
- 1:04:48Speaker 12: really involved in the run game. What does it mean
- 1:04:50Speaker 12: to you as a guy who's in the trench and
- 1:04:51Speaker 12: seeing defensive backs being involved in playing physical against that
- 1:04:54Speaker 12: kind of rushing attack.
- 1:04:55Speaker 16: No, that's super doope. That's super dope, man. Seeing Carlton
- 1:04:58Speaker 16: come in, hit Gonzo come in hit man. So it's
- 1:05:02Speaker 16: not too many times where you can see corners bit
- 1:05:04Speaker 16: as physical as though too, and they come in and
- 1:05:06Speaker 16: they make plays regardless and without any type of hesitation.
- 1:05:10Speaker 16: So pretty dope to keep having everybody all eleven involved
- 1:05:14Speaker 16: in the run game and take pride in that, and
- 1:05:16Speaker 16: we know those and gettest opportunities in the past game
- 1:05:18Speaker 16: for sure, So I credited those guys. We continue to
- 1:05:21Speaker 16: show up, man, and I hope that we'll continue to
- 1:05:23Speaker 16: do that all your long.
- 1:05:25Speaker 12: Did you hear after the game the Facts were talking
- 1:05:27Speaker 12: about on that intentional grounding play?
- 1:05:29Speaker 11: I guess they heard some clapping from your side of
- 1:05:33Speaker 11: the line of SCRIPTA. Did you hear anything like that?
- 1:05:36Speaker 11: Were you guys clapping before the snap there? This is
- 1:05:38Speaker 11: my first time here anybody, so I wasn't aware of that,
- 1:05:41Speaker 11: but I would hope that we would. We don't do that.
- 1:05:44Speaker 11: We play the game fair and we go out and
- 1:05:46Speaker 11: do whatever we can to win.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: You're the one that's facing a couple of young quarterbacks
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: the last two weeks.
- 1:05:52Speaker 11: They'll go up against this week.
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: And I know you probably haven't died in his cap
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: of day yet, but when you look at how to.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Big Mayfield back and spend play against him with.
- 1:06:01Speaker 11: That, how do you there during the again, off Stu.
- 1:06:08Speaker 16: Man Beggas is a great quarterback. I think we all
- 1:06:11Speaker 16: been kind of watching the mixcel and getting better and
- 1:06:12Speaker 16: better each year and each especially as he's getting comfortable
- 1:06:14Speaker 16: with the system. So it's going to be a thing
- 1:06:17Speaker 16: about obviously getting them off their time and then off
- 1:06:19Speaker 16: their rhythm. Man, they're very good at their script and
- 1:06:22Speaker 16: kind of just making sure just methodically getting downfield, and
- 1:06:25Speaker 16: he takes whatever he can get. And when it was
- 1:06:26Speaker 16: exposed to show up, they got some fast guys the
- 1:06:28Speaker 16: receiver and making plays. So it's gonna be one of those, man,
- 1:06:31Speaker 16: everybody kind of haves to just be dialed in and
- 1:06:34Speaker 16: focus into their details. Man, those guys are going to
- 1:06:36Speaker 16: make plays, but we have to make sure that we
- 1:06:38Speaker 16: make more plays than they make.
- 1:06:39Speaker 11: There's a pretty historic run right now.
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: We're not allowing running back still the fifteen yards. Is
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: that something you're aware of heading in the week and
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: wanting to continue that stream or is it something that.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: You you don't what you think about.
- 1:06:51Speaker 16: I think it's more of an outside noise than internal.
- 1:06:54Speaker 16: I think we don't really mention it much in the building.
- 1:06:56Speaker 16: We take pride in being a great run defense for sure, though,
- 1:06:59Speaker 16: but we don't really mention much about stats and kind
- 1:07:01Speaker 16: of like what's the running back average against us?
- 1:07:03Speaker 11: But it's a dope stat to have for sure.
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: Man.
- 1:07:06Speaker 16: Once again, I was like I was yesterday post game,
- 1:07:08Speaker 16: and I think it's a mentality that we carry within
- 1:07:11Speaker 16: the defense man. Just continue to be stout in the
- 1:07:14Speaker 16: run game, be gap sound, and put ourselves in positions
- 1:07:17Speaker 16: to where we can pin out yours back and get
- 1:07:19Speaker 16: out to the quarterback.
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: Do you have a campus to.
- 1:07:24Speaker 11: Campus top?
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: No, No, I did.
- 1:07:26Speaker 11: I had a good chance to.
- 1:07:27Speaker 17: I just wanted to ask you about your season just
- 1:07:30Speaker 17: sort of as a whole your you know, like to start.
- 1:07:32Speaker 11: With the five and a half sacks, which is a
- 1:07:35Speaker 11: career high.
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: Is there something about what's happening with you individually and
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: this team this scheme.
- 1:07:43Speaker 11: That is maybe bringing up the best of unit?
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: What do you what do you feeling?
- 1:07:47Speaker 11: What do you see?
- 1:07:48Speaker 16: I mean, it definitely helps playing with the guys I
- 1:07:50Speaker 16: play with, for sure, got some exceptional defensive backs, exceptional
- 1:07:54Speaker 16: guys and inside Milton Christian herold on opposite and getting
- 1:07:58Speaker 16: getting to the quarterback. So when everybody is kind of
- 1:08:01Speaker 16: making sure they win it in one on ones and
- 1:08:02Speaker 16: dominating in their roles in the game. Man, I think
- 1:08:04Speaker 16: it makes everybody's job a bit more easy, especially when
- 1:08:07Speaker 16: you can just focus on one of your one on
- 1:08:09Speaker 16: one battles. So credit to everybody that's on the field
- 1:08:11Speaker 16: within man, I think that's how this goes into started
- 1:08:15Speaker 16: off in O T as we continue to build that
- 1:08:18Speaker 16: chemistry and that ground and kind of just see how
- 1:08:20Speaker 16: we want to get to the quarterback and how we
- 1:08:21Speaker 16: you know what I'm saying, willing to rush as a
- 1:08:23Speaker 16: unit rather than individual past rush.
- 1:08:26Speaker 11: So it's been dope.
- 1:08:28Speaker 16: It's been dope to have a season like this, for sure,
- 1:08:30Speaker 16: But I give all credit to everybody that's on the
- 1:08:31Speaker 16: field with me for sure. Specific how he distinguished himself
- 1:08:35Speaker 16: he honestly as as player, these physical skills, but the
- 1:08:39Speaker 16: effort in either leadership, you.
- 1:08:41Speaker 10: Know, and.
- 1:08:43Speaker 11: Oh yeah, So I mean Milk's dope.
- 1:08:45Speaker 16: Obviously he knows what a championship contended team looks like,
- 1:08:49Speaker 16: and he definitely voices his opinion when it speaks that
- 1:08:52Speaker 16: he might not be as loud, right, he got, right,
- 1:08:54Speaker 16: he got But he knows when things not looking right
- 1:08:57Speaker 16: and things kind of looking and going in the right direction.
- 1:08:59Speaker 16: So Milk keeps is all on the right path, man,
- 1:09:02Speaker 16: whether it's for Christian, Harold or me sessional when we
- 1:09:04Speaker 16: out there rushing together, some things that he sees, especially
- 1:09:07Speaker 16: if it's a slo protection or if you know he
- 1:09:09Speaker 16: has a one on one matchup, or if he's just
- 1:09:11Speaker 16: seeing some different sets between the pair of a garden tackle.
- 1:09:14Speaker 16: He steaded talking about on the sideline and trying to
- 1:09:16Speaker 16: make sure we're on the same page. So pretty dope
- 1:09:18Speaker 16: to be to be to have milk with hims. I
- 1:09:21Speaker 16: think I was that two years ago. He was a
- 1:09:24Speaker 16: part of recruiter had with seventy two sacks in the
- 1:09:26Speaker 16: season and something like that. So I mean, he knows
- 1:09:27Speaker 16: how to get to the quarterback, he knows what it takes.
- 1:09:29Speaker 16: So I'm super dope to have him inside with us
- 1:09:32Speaker 16: for show.
- 1:09:33Speaker 11: I'm cure you know your view of the trade deadline.
- 1:09:38Speaker 11: Being on a team that's been as successful as it's
- 1:09:39Speaker 11: been to this point in the season, do you look.
- 1:09:42Speaker 12: At the trade deadline and say, man, it'd be great
- 1:09:44Speaker 12: to bring somebody in here to help us get even.
- 1:09:46Speaker 11: Better, or how do you look at it when you're
- 1:09:49Speaker 11: part of a winning team where you guys been.
- 1:09:50Speaker 16: Yeah, that's a question, Rights. I don't really have an
- 1:09:54Speaker 16: answer for it. I don't really kind of dig too
- 1:09:55Speaker 16: much in that.
- 1:09:56Speaker 11: Man.
- 1:09:56Speaker 16: I control what I can control, and that's my play
- 1:09:58Speaker 16: on the field. Hopefully I'll do everything I can to
- 1:10:01Speaker 16: make sure that we continue to go in this direction
- 1:10:04Speaker 16: for show up.
- 1:10:06Speaker 11: Okay, thanks appreciate, John, thank you.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: For today and now great moments in history.
- 1:10:19Speaker 7: I was told that I said carry on wrong. I
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: said carry on. It's carry on one word like like
- 1:10:27Speaker 7: the bag. It's a carry on, not carry on, cape,
- 1:10:32Speaker 7: calm and carry on.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: It's the acs.
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: Do the read before we get in trouble.
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: Okay, only liquid's allowed, blood, sweat, and tears. Catch carry
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: on December thirteenth, only on Netflix.
- 1:10:46Speaker 6: Okay, do you know these things intrigue me?
- 1:10:48Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: So a carry on that you would carry on to
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: an airplane is pronounced differently than carry on.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Yeah, carry on, So by carry I don't see.
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: Carry on, I carry on my you're going to bring
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: your carry on?
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: I feel like I carry on. I feel thank you.
- 1:11:04Speaker 5: No, what I'm saying you just said was wrong.
- 1:11:08Speaker 7: But Paul, you just said that's not You didn't use
- 1:11:10Speaker 7: it as a now used it as a verb.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: You said, I carry on my bag. That's not what
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: it is.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: It's a carry on my back.
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: It's my carry on.
- 1:11:18Speaker 6: It's not my carry on. It's it's my carry on,
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: my carry on back, my carry on back.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:11:23Speaker 7: But but when you say, but, when you say carry on,
- 1:11:26Speaker 7: I'm not changing carry on, carry on, carry on on
- 1:11:29Speaker 7: the conversation.
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: It's my carry on back.
- 1:11:31Speaker 6: It's I'm saying it the exact, putting.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: The carrier the on, Paul, carry on.
- 1:11:37Speaker 7: It's different. Listen, carry listen, carry on. Carry You put
- 1:11:41Speaker 7: the emphasis on on.
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: When it's a verb on, Okay on, I don't, but
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: you do.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: You just don't. You want to admit it, but you do.
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: I'm you're just being stubbor the whole thing.
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: I get that hood.
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: I mean you've got that hood shirt.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: And that's why it's stubborn.
- 1:11:57Speaker 6: That's why it's getting under your skin.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: That's another great moment.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:12:03Speaker 7: A couple announcements, Douce. You want to show off your boots,
- 1:12:06Speaker 7: your bront boots. Yeah, I got mine on too.

- 1:12:44Speaker 1: Great. What do you think?
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: I love them?
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: I love them.
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: I just I was you know, I was a little
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: hesitant to break them out because they look so nice.
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: But once you start wearing them and your feet get yeah,
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: attached to them, and I feel I feel pretty good.
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: But they're almost too nice to work, you know, do working.
- 1:12:56Speaker 9: We had to explain to Paul today and like, you know,
- 1:13:00Speaker 9: those are fashion boots.
- 1:13:01Speaker 6: Those are That's Fred's theory.

- 1:14:01Speaker 7: want to mention is that this is Salute to Service
- 1:14:06Speaker 7: Week around the NFL and with the Patriots, and it's
- 1:14:11Speaker 7: every team honors one person and usually you know a
- 1:14:15Speaker 7: player that has a service member and a family or
- 1:14:19Speaker 7: you know, we had Joe Cardona who was actually in
- 1:14:21Speaker 7: the Navy.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: While he was here.
- 1:14:22Speaker 7: But this year the Patriots honored Fred Waggott, who works
- 1:14:27Speaker 7: at our security. He's been here for years, you know,
- 1:14:31Speaker 7: he's been here since nine. He served in the Army
- 1:14:35Speaker 7: and the Navy. His deep commitment to honoring fellow service members,
- 1:14:39Speaker 7: especially those who never return home, is reflected in his
- 1:14:42Speaker 7: every action. For it, It's quiet gestures of remembrance have
- 1:14:46Speaker 7: become a meaningful tradition within the Patriots community. After each event,
- 1:14:50Speaker 7: he thoughtfully places flowers at the pow Mia seat as
- 1:14:54Speaker 7: a tribute. You can see that in the North End
- 1:14:57Speaker 7: Zone on Memorial Day he ensures fresh flowers are placed there,
- 1:15:01Speaker 7: a powerful symbol of his reverence for those loss in service.
- 1:15:05Speaker 7: When the North End Zone was renovated and the Row
- 1:15:08Speaker 7: of Honor relocated, Fred saw an opportunity to preserve and
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: extended its legacy. Collaborating with Jim Nolan, who's our COO,
- 1:15:16Speaker 7: he secured the original powm i a seat and arranged
- 1:15:20Speaker 7: for its permanent display in the town of Foxborough, complete
- 1:15:23Speaker 7: with a commemorative plaque. So, thanks to his initiative, this
- 1:15:28Speaker 7: is the public reminder in Foxborough of the courage and
- 1:15:31Speaker 7: commitment of those who serve.
- 1:15:33Speaker 6: Congrats, Yeah, well, very much.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: Good for Thread.
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: We see him around all the time. Great guy. Uh
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: served in both the Army and the Navy. Really, that's interesting,
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: I think that was frowned upon. Well you re enlisted.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: He enlisted after nine to eleven.
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: What's up?
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: Relisted after nine to eleven?
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: Really where he worked with Nextel and helped get cell
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: phone service back on in New York after nine eleven.
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: And guy's done a lot.
- 1:16:01Speaker 7: Okay, all right, that's great, Wow, that's amazing, good stuff.
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: Fred Wagott, all right, I believe his full name is Wolfrid.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: Oh he's done a real friend?
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: Is that?
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Is that right?
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Friedrich? Well, I will confirm I don't know.
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: All right, let's get back to the phone, shall we.
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: We'll start with Eldred North Carolina? What's up?
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: Eldred's powerful?
- 1:16:29Speaker 6: Hey, Hey, Hey, there's a couple of lectures there for
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: ad Mitchell.
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: Agree with.
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: Let's go ahead and go on in.
- 1:16:40Speaker 14: Hey, but there's a question I saw on the website.
- 1:16:44Speaker 19: Steven N.
- 1:16:45Speaker 14: Smith reported, I know during World we didn't sign to
- 1:16:49Speaker 14: Meccao or ply from the Jets.
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: Mal what website are you're reading?
- 1:16:58Speaker 6: He's on Cleveland right?
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:17:04Speaker 14: But now no, but he's a flat guy, He's not.
- 1:17:08Speaker 6: He's kind of a gadget guy.
- 1:17:09Speaker 20: Yeah, yeah, something like that.
- 1:17:12Speaker 19: And that also got a picture of him sitting in
- 1:17:15Speaker 19: in uh Patriots studio signing like he said in the contract,
- 1:17:19Speaker 19: I think you Aldred, have y'all seen it?
- 1:17:22Speaker 9: I think I got got Yeah Smith.
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: That's a I yeah, well you gotta watch out for that.
- 1:17:32Speaker 20: Yeah yeah, but Paul, I agree with you, man.
- 1:17:34Speaker 14: I tell you what, Evan, give a third of green
- 1:17:38Speaker 14: Bay and give me Christian Watson. I wanted him to
- 1:17:41Speaker 14: about devil for the outsake.
- 1:17:42Speaker 9: I have a all right, thanks, eld I think he's
- 1:17:46Speaker 9: hurt again.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go to Willem.
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: Tell him what's up? William. You haven't called in a while.
- 1:17:51Speaker 15: Yeah, it's been a while.
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: I'm off to day.
- 1:17:53Speaker 15: How you doing for it?
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: Good? Good?
- 1:17:55Speaker 11: Okay?
- 1:17:57Speaker 15: My question was not ain't so much even a question?
- 1:18:00Speaker 15: Is something to take that Paul and Evan had talked about,
- 1:18:03Speaker 15: which was if I'm saying his name right, you know
- 1:18:06Speaker 15: what I'm saying, right, Jeremiah Smith from O Higher State
- 1:18:10Speaker 15: and y'all said, I think Paul words quote basically was
- 1:18:16Speaker 15: can we get a receiver in a twenty twenty sixth
- 1:18:18Speaker 15: draft plan? I know twenty twenty seven is way out there,
- 1:18:21Speaker 15: but I'm just saying, look, you got a dual thread quarterback.
- 1:18:24Speaker 15: I don't know how long this rookie good? His deal is,
- 1:18:27Speaker 15: but don't don't waste it. You know, when you had
- 1:18:30Speaker 15: Mack Jeneson on him on a rookie deal, you didn't
- 1:18:33Speaker 15: even really put nothing around him. But now you got
- 1:18:36Speaker 15: this guy, they just don't waste it, you know what
- 1:18:38Speaker 15: I mean? And Johnny and Smith regards to what you
- 1:18:40Speaker 15: say about him, Evan, you know, he'd be perfect New England.
- 1:18:43Speaker 15: And we've been waiting for a receiver like this man William.
- 1:18:46Speaker 9: He's gonna be the first overall pick in the draft.
- 1:18:48Speaker 6: We love Jeremiah and I don't give a damn.
- 1:18:51Speaker 15: I'm giving up all my picks to get him.
- 1:18:53Speaker 6: Okay, Well that's not going to get it.
- 1:18:55Speaker 15: Back my left tackle. If I got my quarterback, my
- 1:18:58Speaker 15: left tackle, and whatever else we get this year, why not, Okay?
- 1:19:01Speaker 9: I just that was the point we were just trying
- 1:19:03Speaker 9: to make. You know, Patriots are on a trajectory. Now
- 1:19:07Speaker 9: they're picking in the twenties in twenty twenty seven, like
- 1:19:10Speaker 9: you're I don't know how you're getting from twenty two
- 1:19:13Speaker 9: to one. Like that's that point.
- 1:19:16Speaker 6: We generation absolute stud Okay.
- 1:19:22Speaker 15: So why so while I was talking about getting joint
- 1:19:25Speaker 15: Tyson knowing you will be front and then you got
- 1:19:27Speaker 15: a Tree up.
- 1:19:27Speaker 9: To go get him. No, I don't think you would. Yeah,
- 1:19:30Speaker 9: Jordan Tyson's like projected right now to be like a
- 1:19:32Speaker 9: mid first round pick, probably go somewhere in the teams.
- 1:19:35Speaker 9: So you know, I mean, you're talking about the Patriots
- 1:19:38Speaker 9: make the playoffs, like trading up I don't know, five
- 1:19:42Speaker 9: to ten spots, you know for a guy like Jordan
- 1:19:44Speaker 9: Tyson from Arizona State. So like, we're not talking about
- 1:19:47Speaker 9: trade having to trade up into the top three of
- 1:19:50Speaker 9: the draft to.
- 1:19:51Speaker 15: Get him, right, I'm staying all that, and I really do.
- 1:19:57Speaker 15: It's just that we've been claiming for this number one
- 1:19:59Speaker 15: for what for how long now? And we passed uff
- 1:20:02Speaker 15: On Like we could have had Hopkins in this but
- 1:20:05Speaker 15: in his uh, in his prime. We could have had
- 1:20:07Speaker 15: digged in this prime, even though we got him later.
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: You know, we could.
- 1:20:10Speaker 15: We missed up on dk Mack.
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: You know, the list goes on and on.
- 1:20:13Speaker 15: You know, we just missing out every time. But now
- 1:20:16Speaker 15: he comes this guy that's coming out twenty twenty seven,
- 1:20:19Speaker 15: and yes, we're gonna be far, We're gonna be far
- 1:20:21Speaker 15: away from getting them. But I mean, what are you
- 1:20:23Speaker 15: going to do?
- 1:20:24Speaker 11: You know?
- 1:20:25Speaker 15: Yep, I'm just saying you got this dual threat quarterback.
- 1:20:27Speaker 11: He's on a rookie deal.
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, get him some weapons, is what you're saying.
- 1:20:31Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't think anybody is disagreeing with that.
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: All right, thanks.
- 1:20:34Speaker 9: I don't know how there's not a path to get Jeremiah's.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: Not going to get Jeremiah Smith. I guess, yeah, continue
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: same old thing from the Patriots.
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: Would I would love to get Jeremiah Smith.
- 1:20:42Speaker 9: I mean maybe if they you know, commanders it and
- 1:20:45Speaker 9: they have they go regress, I think that they can
- 1:20:48Speaker 9: get Jeremiah Smith.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: That was that was a verb.
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: Now I like it, but you also like the whole
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: premise of well, you have this young quarterback, and well
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: I pointed out that you can't get him in twenty six.
- 1:21:03Speaker 5: So it's twenty seven. So now you've ostensibly paid Gonzales
- 1:21:09Speaker 5: and you're gonna have to pay May. So the whole
- 1:21:12Speaker 5: premise is kind of out of whack too. So now
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: you're going to do that and you're gonna trade god
- 1:21:17Speaker 5: knows what to move up to get to one from
- 1:21:20Speaker 5: the twenties if things go well, while.
- 1:21:23Speaker 9: You're talking about three first round picks, right.
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: And that's that's all I'm saying, like Jeremiah Smith, there's nobody,
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: nobody who watches college football that wouldn't say that he's
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: one of the best players in college football.
- 1:21:34Speaker 9: It might have been the best player instge football last year. Yeah,
- 1:21:37Speaker 9: I just when it comes to the receiver, I mean,
- 1:21:39Speaker 9: if you're talking about May and his ricky contract and
- 1:21:42Speaker 9: you're talking about paying a veteran receiver with the extra
- 1:21:45Speaker 9: cap space, you know, next off season going out and
- 1:21:48Speaker 9: trading for aj Brown, trading for Jaylen Waddle who might
- 1:21:51Speaker 9: be more available in the off season than he is now,
- 1:21:53Speaker 9: you know, doing something like that, which we're all for. Like,
- 1:21:56Speaker 9: I just you're not getting Jeremiah Smith, Like I didn't.
- 1:21:59Speaker 9: Let's let's again they have a very bad regression next
- 1:22:03Speaker 9: year and they end up, you know, missing the playoffs.
- 1:22:06Speaker 9: Like I guess, maybe we can have that conversation, but
- 1:22:09Speaker 9: I think that there's a real chance in twenty twenty
- 1:22:11Speaker 9: seven he goes first overall. So I just don't know
- 1:22:14Speaker 9: how you're going to be able to pull that off.
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: Let's go to Andrew in LA what's up, Andrew?
- 1:22:23Speaker 11: Hey, what's up?
- 1:22:24Speaker 8: Boys?
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: Hey?
- 1:22:27Speaker 11: I wanted to I don't know if this got brought
- 1:22:29Speaker 11: up earlier in the show.
- 1:22:30Speaker 20: But I see a huge margin of error that we
- 1:22:35Speaker 20: didn't have the last few years with various quarterbacks that
- 1:22:40Speaker 20: were on our team. It kind of dates back to Brady,
- 1:22:45Speaker 20: where we have this huge margin of era that we
- 1:22:47Speaker 20: can make all these mistakes and still come out with
- 1:22:49Speaker 20: a victory. I don't know if you guys have seen
- 1:22:50Speaker 20: this recently.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: Yeah, we talked.
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: I mean I think we talked about it, like literally
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: during the game last week, where I remember leaning back
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: and saying to Paul, like, it's just different to feel like, oh,
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: it's third and long, like there's still a chance. Like
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: last couple of years, it felt like you got the
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: third and six and it was like, oh boy, this
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: is gonna be a big ask on this one.
- 1:23:08Speaker 5: In that regard, I would agree. I think if that
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: game unfolded the other way around, I would like to
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: have seen if they were able to win it, if
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: he had the first half that he had in the
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: second and not the twenty one point you know, head
- 1:23:21Speaker 5: start that they had, I would have wondered. I would
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: have you know, Yeah, it was incredible.
- 1:23:25Speaker 9: Their ability to gain first downs from long down and
- 1:23:31Speaker 9: distance second and third down is one of the best
- 1:23:34Speaker 9: in the league and uncanny like third and thirteen first down,
- 1:23:40Speaker 9: like they're you know, second and long first down, you
- 1:23:42Speaker 9: take a sack, second and long first down.
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: It's that way almost almost all seasons two.
- 1:23:48Speaker 6: It's not like one or two times.
- 1:23:50Speaker 9: Yeah, it's incredible how they've been able to do that.
- 1:23:52Speaker 7: Thanks Andrew. Brian's in Delaware. Hey Brian, how you guys doing.
- 1:24:02Speaker 19: I wanted to ask this, since Kayshawn Booty might be out,
- 1:24:06Speaker 19: do you think Pop Douglas is going to have a
- 1:24:08Speaker 19: bigger season coming into this Bucks game?
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: No, I think it might be Kyle Williams. And that's
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: what Mike Rabel kind of said yesterday that you know,
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: it was a Friday.
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: Is Yesterday he said that Booty's day to day. We
- 1:24:22Speaker 5: should probably update that. Booty himself on one of these
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: media the kids. Sorry, he said, nothing to worry about,
- 1:24:32Speaker 5: just a Grade one hamstring strain.
- 1:24:35Speaker 9: What does that mean?
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: That's the least said yesterday that he will be definitely
- 1:24:42Speaker 5: missing some practice time early in this week. So maybe
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: we'll see if he can get back out in the
- 1:24:47Speaker 5: practice field Thursday or more likely maybe Friday. I'm kind of,
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: as Fred likes to say, I'm not counting on him
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: for Sunday. Based on the way that Mike sounded, it's
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: going to give Kyle Williams more of an opportunity. I
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: wouldn't expect him to be a big part of the
- 1:25:02Speaker 5: passing games game.
- 1:25:05Speaker 7: Maybe Booty would go, but we got a lot of
- 1:25:07Speaker 7: football left and they're gonna need him, so I would
- 1:25:10Speaker 7: air on the side of caution with him.
- 1:25:12Speaker 9: So there's three grades to hamstring injuries one, two, three.
- 1:25:17Speaker 9: One is considered mild, three is considered severe. Based off
- 1:25:21Speaker 9: the report in Christian Gonzales had a Grade three hamstring
- 1:25:23Speaker 9: strain in training camp. That is a usually around a
- 1:25:27Speaker 9: six week four to six week injury. UH grade one
- 1:25:30Speaker 9: ham string it can it can only be like a
- 1:25:33Speaker 9: week or two that you know that they end up missing.
- 1:25:36Speaker 9: But the tricky part about ham strings is that you
- 1:25:40Speaker 9: can make a hamstring worse. So if you come back
- 1:25:43Speaker 9: to quickly and then you play on a ify hamstring,
- 1:25:46Speaker 9: then you can actually tearn a Grade one into a
- 1:25:49Speaker 9: Grade three right awfully quickly, unlike other injuries.
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: My opinion, only no one's told me this. I think
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: that's what happened to Christian Gonzalez, because if you remember.
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: The initial to come back to.
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: The initial report on Gonzalez was day to day, turned
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: out to be two months. Yeah, I think something like
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: Evan just described probably happened to Christian.
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: Camillo from Hartford.
- 1:26:12Speaker 7: After the win over Cleveland, Drake May said, we haven't
- 1:26:15Speaker 7: been able to put together a full game, and honestly true,
- 1:26:18Speaker 7: awards have never been mumbled over a Gatorade cooler.
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: Every week.
- 1:26:22Speaker 7: It's like the team is playing whack a mole. The
- 1:26:24Speaker 7: offense pops up, the defense ducks special teams. Well, they're
- 1:26:28Speaker 7: the one friend who shows up late to the party
- 1:26:30Speaker 7: but still wants credit for being there the whole time.
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: So what are you guys.
- 1:26:34Speaker 7: Seeing that's keeping this team from stringing together a full
- 1:26:37Speaker 7: sixty minutes of complimentary football?
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: Is it growing pains?
- 1:26:41Speaker 7: A lack of discipline that makes you wonder if someone
- 1:26:43Speaker 7: skipped team meetings or did the football guys just forget
- 1:26:46Speaker 7: to send the memo about playing all three phases at
- 1:26:49Speaker 7: the same time.
- 1:26:51Speaker 9: It's really hard to do.
- 1:26:53Speaker 4: Yeah, Like, it's not like every other team in the
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: NFL that are all put in sixteen minutes and you
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: and you're right, it's a young team.
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: But it's talent.
- 1:26:59Speaker 7: But I Also you got to look at who the
- 1:27:01Speaker 7: opponents are sometimes the other in a given game, you know,
- 1:27:05Speaker 7: like for example, we play the Falcons this game. They
- 1:27:09Speaker 7: have a good pass defense and so that showed up,
- 1:27:14Speaker 7: and other games you might play a team that doesn't,
- 1:27:16Speaker 7: but they have with Mike.
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: You know, like people are looking for something that's probably
- 1:27:21Speaker 5: not they're not prepared for yet.
- 1:27:23Speaker 6: But they're good enough to play sixty minute games.
- 1:27:25Speaker 9: But they're also like the game's over by the third quarter.
- 1:27:28Speaker 5: And that's been a couple of times.
- 1:27:30Speaker 9: So I'm just saying, like against the Titans against the Browns,
- 1:27:34Speaker 9: like I.
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: Would count those as sixty minute games.
- 1:27:37Speaker 9: I think they played like.
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: Miami. They're not good enough to just dominate these teams
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: for sixty minutes. Even though those teams aren't good, I
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: don't think they're good enough to just say we're so
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: much better than these teams, we're gonna beat them. But
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: Cleveland and Tennessee, they would bet they would they were
- 1:27:55Speaker 5: good enough to do that too. They weren't good enough
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: to do that every game.
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: I how many teams aren't like right now, and then
- 1:28:02Speaker 4: usually the teams that do it string it together at
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: the end, and then those are the teams that make
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: a Super Bowl run.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: You know, it's you're always shooting for it.
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: I agree with you.
- 1:28:10Speaker 6: It's a hard thing to do.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: It's a hard expectation to hold them against.
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: I think the Patriots have played pretty consistently at a
- 1:28:16Speaker 5: pretty high level. But I think they're getting the most
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: out of what they have on a pretty consistent basis.
- 1:28:23Speaker 9: I do think it's interesting though. You know, they're at
- 1:28:26Speaker 9: like twenty six a game right now, it's top ten
- 1:28:28Speaker 9: in the league. But they're right around the same scoring
- 1:28:31Speaker 9: every single week. Unless they get like a defensive touchdown,
- 1:28:34Speaker 9: they score.
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: In the low twenties every game. Yeah, I agree with
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: you one thousand percent.
- 1:28:37Speaker 9: So to the emailer's point, I this is one of
- 1:28:40Speaker 9: those games against Atlanta that you would have liked to
- 1:28:42Speaker 9: have seen them put together one more touchdown drive to
- 1:28:45Speaker 9: get it to thirty one, thirty somewhere around there and
- 1:28:49Speaker 9: not would have really probably put this game away. They
- 1:28:51Speaker 9: only have eight points in the second half right now.
- 1:28:54Speaker 9: I like to think they missed the extra point, so
- 1:28:56Speaker 9: it's not a tie game. Like I'd like to think
- 1:28:59Speaker 9: that Drake May he just takes them down the field
- 1:29:01Speaker 9: and wins the game. If it's twenty four to twenty four,
- 1:29:03Speaker 9: but he didn't have to so it had opportunity to
- 1:29:06Speaker 9: present itself. But it is true they kind of hover
- 1:29:09Speaker 9: right around those the mid twenties.
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: Sam and Charlotte.
- 1:29:12Speaker 7: Congratulations to Fred for correctly predicting Park a Roma would
- 1:29:16Speaker 7: miss an extra point. Congratulations to the Falcons for missing
- 1:29:20Speaker 7: the extra point and losing the game to get a
- 1:29:22Speaker 7: higher draft pick because they knew they were not going
- 1:29:24Speaker 7: to the super Bowl. Oh, I don't think that's what happened.
- 1:29:28Speaker 7: I don't think that's what happened. So a lot of
- 1:29:33Speaker 7: a lot of emails, tons of emails.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: People are interesting.
- 1:29:37Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe reads. So it's so, Freddy, I got a chance.
- 1:29:39Speaker 5: I met a listener last night. You know, you met
- 1:29:42Speaker 5: a listener that the Northeastern bu basketball game. The play
- 1:29:47Speaker 5: by play guy for Nesson Gentleman named Alex Vaspoli came
- 1:29:53Speaker 5: up to me and said said hello, and said, I'm big,
- 1:29:56Speaker 5: big pu fan.
- 1:29:57Speaker 6: I listened all the time.
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: He's got a one year old at home, so he
- 1:29:59Speaker 5: can't all he's participated in the show. He can't call
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: in and stuff, but uh yeah, he loves what we do.
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: He listens to us all the time, faithful listener, Thank you. Unfortunately,
- 1:30:09Speaker 5: the bad guy was.
- 1:30:09Speaker 7: The game that you were at last night at Matthews. Yes,
- 1:30:12Speaker 7: so do you have like a seat that your seat
- 1:30:15Speaker 7: and you go and everyone comes in.
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: So there was a little of that last night. I'm
- 1:30:19Speaker 5: not gonna lie. And we haven't been we haven't been
- 1:30:21Speaker 5: to a game a lot, but my brother and I went.
- 1:30:23Speaker 5: We we did not We did not go to a
- 1:30:25Speaker 5: single game last year, and people were.
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: Like people people know d'angelo's move.
- 1:30:31Speaker 5: No, no, just kids don't want to go anymore and
- 1:30:34Speaker 5: get tied up with things you know now that the
- 1:30:37Speaker 5: kids are in school, like there's just ye called rich,
- 1:30:40Speaker 5: I said, you want to go and ended up being
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: a disaster because someone intentionally hit us with their car
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: on the way into the game last night. Seriously, I'm
- 1:30:48Speaker 5: not exaggerating. Someone intentionally hit us. Not the whole front
- 1:30:51Speaker 5: bumper of my brother's car off intentionally. Yes, he pulled
- 1:30:55Speaker 5: up beside him very angrily and slammed himself into the
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: side of my brother.
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: This car, you're kidding, called assault brother? No, did you
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: call the police?
- 1:31:06Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: I mean everything, and then he and then he took off.
- 1:31:10Speaker 21: He had this vacant stare the first time. I told him,
- 1:31:14Speaker 21: he's nodding, he's naught. You're like, let me spell it
- 1:31:17Speaker 21: out for it, and he took it. He took off,
- 1:31:19Speaker 21: and you got his plate and he took off. I
- 1:31:20Speaker 21: took a picture of his plate. My brother called nine
- 1:31:22Speaker 21: one one nice and they already got him. The police
- 1:31:25Speaker 21: have been in touch with my brother, so they got
- 1:31:28Speaker 21: the guy's insurance.
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: You know who he is, Like, where's he from?
- 1:31:30Speaker 5: No, I'm not not getting into that because we didn't
- 1:31:33Speaker 5: chase him down because of fear.
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: No, I know the guy's are not.
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: But yes, I didn't know.
- 1:31:38Speaker 6: I didn't know what we're going to be looking at.
- 1:31:40Speaker 4: So I mean, I asked Paul, if that had been
- 1:31:42Speaker 4: the Perlo brothers back in like eighties, nineties, we might
- 1:31:44Speaker 4: have had guys.
- 1:31:47Speaker 6: So I'm not really exactly sure.
- 1:31:49Speaker 5: We took a turn. We took a left onto mass
- 1:31:53Speaker 5: av and we we got over to the left because
- 1:31:57Speaker 5: it gets kind of congested in that area. It's by
- 1:31:59Speaker 5: the boss in Medical Center and Method one mile, you know,
- 1:32:04Speaker 5: so there's a lot of activity down there, and we
- 1:32:06Speaker 5: tried to get over to the left because we're going straight.
- 1:32:08Speaker 5: A lot of people are taking that right, a lot
- 1:32:10Speaker 5: of people are going into the hospital and whatnot, and
- 1:32:13Speaker 5: all of a sudden, the guy just beeps his horn
- 1:32:15Speaker 5: and then he speeds up, like we cut him off,
- 1:32:19Speaker 5: And I don't think we did, but you know, I
- 1:32:22Speaker 5: don't know. I wasn't driving. I was probably just not
- 1:32:25Speaker 5: really paying attention. My brother was driving, and he sped
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: up right next to us. My brother kind of hit
- 1:32:31Speaker 5: the brake a little bit, and the guy just barreled,
- 1:32:34Speaker 5: and I mean he intentionally hit our car with his
- 1:32:38Speaker 5: He had a big black pickup truck, you know, full
- 1:32:40Speaker 5: will joe, you know, so he didn't care. And the
- 1:32:42Speaker 5: whole front of my brother's SUV, the whole front bumper
- 1:32:47Speaker 5: and the grill gone.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:32:49Speaker 5: When we were driving back the other way, I said,
- 1:32:51Speaker 5: slow down here when we're able to find a bumper.
- 1:32:54Speaker 6: He was not amused.
- 1:32:55Speaker 11: That sucks.
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: But that's weird, that's wild.
- 1:33:00Speaker 6: It was weird.
- 1:33:01Speaker 5: And then we've got a little afraid, not gonna lie.
- 1:33:04Speaker 5: We're like, I don't know what.
- 1:33:05Speaker 6: This guy, this guy you're gonna carry or something.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:33:08Speaker 5: Yeah, so we just kind of we we we waited
- 1:33:11Speaker 5: for the cop who was supposed to come, and then
- 1:33:13Speaker 5: we waited for like five minutes and people like coming
- 1:33:15Speaker 5: up to the car and my brother I ain't waiting
- 1:33:17Speaker 5: around him anymore. We went to the game.
- 1:33:20Speaker 3: Wow that's something. Yeah, well, let me know what happens.
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: I want to who find out who this guy is?
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: Justice.
- 1:33:27Speaker 6: I'm not going to be telling what the guy is.
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 1:33:30Speaker 6: I'm not gonna lie. Was it spooked me?
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:33:33Speaker 6: It was kind of scared assaulted?
- 1:33:35Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like you know, magnum p I out there,
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: you know, I speak car chase guys crashing his own
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: stinking car to like.
- 1:33:46Speaker 9: He had a big pickup.
- 1:33:48Speaker 6: Just I think my brother has a I mean, my
- 1:33:52Speaker 6: brother's SUV is not small.
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: Maybe he recognized you and heard you on the radio.
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: Another listener and done like to show that one.
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: Yeah it wasn't Andy Hart, was it?
- 1:34:03Speaker 11: It was.
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: Boro?
- 1:34:06Speaker 5: All right? I have an Andy Hart story for you.
- 1:34:08Speaker 5: Off the air though, Oh off the air all right?
- 1:34:11Speaker 11: Uh?
- 1:34:11Speaker 7: Thor Door from Iceland rights in Happy Victory Tuesday from Iceland.
- 1:34:18Speaker 7: I thought this game became unnecessarily close, and as was
- 1:34:21Speaker 7: said in the postgame show, the game should have been
- 1:34:24Speaker 7: closed out by halftime. But a win is a win,
- 1:34:25Speaker 7: and we'll take it. I was wondering what type of
- 1:34:28Speaker 7: snowblowers are you working with. I live in a snow
- 1:34:30Speaker 7: area in Iceland and I'm looking to buying a snowblow.
- 1:34:33Speaker 7: You've got to arrans. You gotta take Aarons, a R
- 1:34:36Speaker 7: I E N s now. I don't know if they're
- 1:34:38Speaker 7: sold in Europe, might be under a different name, but
- 1:34:43Speaker 7: Aarons is where you want to go. Let me tell
- 1:34:45Speaker 7: you I bought what you have. Yeah, I bought an
- 1:34:47Speaker 7: Aarons years ago when I lived in Rentham. I don't
- 1:34:51Speaker 7: have a garage or a shed big enough to put,
- 1:34:55Speaker 7: you know, a big machine, so it's been sitting outside
- 1:34:57Speaker 7: for i'd say seven years. Still runs like a top,
- 1:35:03Speaker 7: still runs covered up though I have a cover for it,
- 1:35:06Speaker 7: but that doesn't do much.
- 1:35:07Speaker 9: Are they a sponsor?
- 1:35:08Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:35:09Speaker 9: Absolutely, I wouldn't.
- 1:35:13Speaker 7: Absolutely a sponsor. And I'm not saying that I bought
- 1:35:16Speaker 7: Like I said, I bought this like seven years ago.
- 1:35:18Speaker 4: And the guys calling it from Iceland too, and it's
- 1:35:20Speaker 4: going to be a serious machine up there, I would assume.
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: Yeah, it's about a snow I mean that's literally Iceland. Well,
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: actually Greenland is more icy than Iceland. Did you know
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: that still Vikings thing.
- 1:35:30Speaker 6: Yeah, in fact, we know with a rightful lair to
- 1:35:35Speaker 6: the throne.
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: Let's see somebody wants to talk about dead cap money.
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: I don't think we want to go there.
- 1:35:43Speaker 9: I'm more than happy to man's plain dead cat this guy.
- 1:35:51Speaker 7: I'm pleased to report that at the Celtics game last night,
- 1:35:53Speaker 7: I did not run backwards into Drake and Will like
- 1:35:56Speaker 7: I did to Ravees and r KK earlier this year
- 1:35:59Speaker 7: at the celt Unfortunately, they couldn't pull out a win,
- 1:36:02Speaker 7: but it was great to see the two of them
- 1:36:04Speaker 7: locked into the game and court side from start to finish.
- 1:36:07Speaker 9: That's true on both accounts.
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: You weren't there.
- 1:36:10Speaker 9: I was not at this one. Now I was watching
- 1:36:14Speaker 9: all right, good Drake Heights. Pretty disheartening.
- 1:36:18Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: Back to the phones we go. Dan Is in Daytona.
- 1:36:21Speaker 14: Hey Dan, any how's it going, guys?
- 1:36:25Speaker 16: How you doing?
- 1:36:25Speaker 8: Fred?
- 1:36:25Speaker 12: Paul?
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: Hey? Alex?
- 1:36:28Speaker 14: Hey, So I got a couple of tips for you
- 1:36:30Speaker 14: guys today.
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:36:32Speaker 14: I try to call it on a Sunday when during
- 1:36:35Speaker 14: the post game, Well, I do want to agree with
- 1:36:37Speaker 14: you when you were talking about on Sunday you and Mike.
- 1:36:41Speaker 14: I wasn't overly impressed.
- 1:36:42Speaker 4: With the.
- 1:36:44Speaker 14: How the defense played throughout the game. They were just
- 1:36:46Speaker 14: kind of wildly inconsistent. I felt, uh, I just felt
- 1:36:51Speaker 14: like they, well, I guess the whole team in general
- 1:36:53Speaker 14: kind of took a rest after the first half.
- 1:36:55Speaker 15: But uh, I think what I.
- 1:36:57Speaker 14: Think Mike was staying on Sunday, like some of the
- 1:37:00Speaker 14: players like chased on him. He was looking like an
- 1:37:03Speaker 14: all pro. And then just towards the end of the game,
- 1:37:05Speaker 14: they just died off. And that's kind of why I've
- 1:37:08Speaker 14: been for the I've been saying for the past month
- 1:37:10Speaker 14: that I've been calling in that they really need to
- 1:37:12Speaker 14: make a push for I mean, if they think this
- 1:37:15Speaker 14: year's they have potential to goal. I mean, I know
- 1:37:18Speaker 14: everyone's saying, oh they won't, they won't go deep in
- 1:37:20Speaker 14: the playoffs, but maybe they won't make the playoffs. But
- 1:37:23Speaker 14: I really think they just needed to bite the bullet.
- 1:37:26Speaker 14: I'd hate to see them give up a first round
- 1:37:28Speaker 14: just because I would rather than wait and collect more
- 1:37:33Speaker 14: picks like they did this past draft, you know, moving
- 1:37:36Speaker 14: around the board and stacking up picks. So I like
- 1:37:39Speaker 14: them in one way to not give up a first round,
- 1:37:42Speaker 14: but I really do want them to get a pass
- 1:37:45Speaker 14: rush of year just because you know, if any of
- 1:37:47Speaker 14: those guys goes down, we have no depth, we're essentially screwed.
- 1:37:52Speaker 14: And then we're just kind of watching the playoffs like
- 1:37:54Speaker 14: everybody else on our couch. So I would like them to,
- 1:37:58Speaker 14: you know, the front office, I know, know, follow your guys,
- 1:38:01Speaker 14: clown Elliot Wolf, but I don't know if his office
- 1:38:04Speaker 14: his guys will actually you know, pull a plug on it.
- 1:38:08Speaker 14: But I would like to see them do that. And
- 1:38:10Speaker 14: then for the offense, I don't think there's too much
- 1:38:14Speaker 14: at this point that they could do. Maybe adding Breeze Hall,
- 1:38:17Speaker 14: but I just really don't think that actually would happen,
- 1:38:20Speaker 14: but i'd be I would probably be shocked if they did.
- 1:38:25Speaker 14: I think that would be good if they did. Add that,
- 1:38:27Speaker 14: you have another dynamic on the offense, and then you
- 1:38:29Speaker 14: add a good pass rusher on the defense. I think
- 1:38:32Speaker 14: that will help their chances. But I just see the
- 1:38:35Speaker 14: Patriots kind of just patching it together and making it work.
- 1:38:40Speaker 14: But I just don't want to see them, you know,
- 1:38:41Speaker 14: sitting on their couch watching the postseason like everybody else.
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: All right, thanks with call, Dan, need want to move,
- 1:38:49Speaker 3: we want moves.
- 1:38:50Speaker 9: I think pass rush depth is a fair concern I
- 1:38:54Speaker 9: don't really know where this narrative is coming from that
- 1:38:56Speaker 9: their pass rush has been bad, So I think that
- 1:38:59Speaker 9: may that might be anecdotal, and I that's fair. Maybe
- 1:39:06Speaker 9: I just think like Vrabel's been somewhat curtic.
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: People have been completing a lot of passage.
- 1:39:10Speaker 4: Yeah, and it just never like and I like, such
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: a this is not about near pressure, Like I am
- 1:39:15Speaker 4: sowing this right now, like you're right, like all the
- 1:39:17Speaker 4: numbers look good, and then I've watched all the games
- 1:39:20Speaker 4: and it's like, how many times recently did you feel
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: like a quarterback was uncomfortable?
- 1:39:23Speaker 5: Like I'm saying that he agrees with me. On Sunday,
- 1:39:26Speaker 5: I thought the defense played pretty well on Sunday, I
- 1:39:29Speaker 5: was disappointed in the eighty five yard touchdown drive. Now,
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: in fairness, that also included a huge penalty that took
- 1:39:36Speaker 5: a third and ten away. It was a second and ten,
- 1:39:39Speaker 5: it would have set up third and ten. It gave
- 1:39:40Speaker 5: him a first down and then two fourth down conversion.
- 1:39:43Speaker 5: So it's not like they just let walk Yeah, but
- 1:39:46Speaker 5: it's not like they just let him walk down the
- 1:39:47Speaker 5: field like it was a good drive by Atlanta. I'm
- 1:39:49Speaker 5: you know, I'm giving them credit for doing it otherwise.
- 1:39:52Speaker 5: I thought the Patriots defense played pretty well on Sunday.
- 1:39:55Speaker 5: You know, you can't fault them. Much like I always
- 1:39:57Speaker 5: take away the offensive points for the Patriots when they
- 1:39:59Speaker 5: take over inside the five yard line, I'm not going
- 1:40:01Speaker 5: to hang out on the defense, right when when you
- 1:40:05Speaker 5: know the Falcons take over in the six that's not
- 1:40:07Speaker 5: that's not the defense's fault, right. I mean, yeah, you'd
- 1:40:09Speaker 5: like to see the red zone defense be a little
- 1:40:11Speaker 5: bit better. They're last in the league, but I think
- 1:40:14Speaker 5: they played pretty well Sunday. The pressure I think has
- 1:40:17Speaker 5: been very sporadic. I know you're probably gonna point to
- 1:40:22Speaker 5: some numbers that that Mike is talking about. I don't
- 1:40:24Speaker 5: think they affect the quarterback that often. Sunday I thought
- 1:40:27Speaker 5: they did. I thought they got the ball out of Pennix's.
- 1:40:30Speaker 3: Hands a couple of times, especially the second half.
- 1:40:32Speaker 9: I just think that, you know, it's all it marries, right,
- 1:40:37Speaker 9: Like you to have good pressure, you also need to
- 1:40:40Speaker 9: have good coverage, and to have good coverage, you need
- 1:40:42Speaker 9: to have.
- 1:40:42Speaker 5: Good pressure that's avable.
- 1:40:43Speaker 9: So I like the pressures U there pressure rate, you know,
- 1:40:49Speaker 9: their win rate like all of that is really really good.
- 1:40:53Speaker 9: But you can't blame the defensive line for the fact
- 1:40:56Speaker 9: that there's open guys down the field to alleviate the pressure.
- 1:41:00Speaker 7: But so the type of pressure that they're generating, especially
- 1:41:03Speaker 7: up the middle, it's perfect if you had that edge
- 1:41:06Speaker 7: guy because he'd be cleaning up that like crazy sure,
- 1:41:10Speaker 7: and that pressure would he'd be having fifteen sacks a year.
- 1:41:13Speaker 9: I guess, So I just I look at it a
- 1:41:16Speaker 9: little bit differently. I guess I think the issue that
- 1:41:20Speaker 9: they're having is that the ball is coming out too
- 1:41:23Speaker 9: quick because there's open guys, so and the ball's coming
- 1:41:26Speaker 9: out as quick as it is. I don't care who
- 1:41:28Speaker 9: you have rush in the passer like we saw this
- 1:41:30Speaker 9: with Brady for twenty years, Like when the ball's coming out, like,
- 1:41:33Speaker 9: there's no way that that pressure that they're generating is
- 1:41:37Speaker 9: going to turn into sacks unless the coverage is making
- 1:41:40Speaker 9: the quarterback hold the ball. So you know, you look
- 1:41:43Speaker 9: at you know, the numbers like their eleventh in pressure rate,
- 1:41:48Speaker 9: their top ten and time to pressure, their top ten
- 1:41:50Speaker 9: and win rate like they they're pressure they are winning
- 1:41:54Speaker 9: up front more times than not. What they're not doing
- 1:41:58Speaker 9: is you don't see the can consistent marriage of we
- 1:42:01Speaker 9: have tight coverage down the field that's making the quarterback
- 1:42:04Speaker 9: go through progressions and hold the football with the pressure
- 1:42:08Speaker 9: and marrying that up. So you could argue that you
- 1:42:12Speaker 9: could go out and get an edge rusher that can
- 1:42:14Speaker 9: clean up and take advantage of Barmore and Williams on
- 1:42:17Speaker 9: the inside, or you could argue that they need to
- 1:42:20Speaker 9: cover better.
- 1:42:21Speaker 7: I mean, that's what we thought might happen with Keon
- 1:42:25Speaker 7: White this year, but it didn't. And you know, we're
- 1:42:28Speaker 7: hoping Chase on you know, Chason has been pretty good.
- 1:42:33Speaker 7: Landry's kind of fallen off a little bit.
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: He might be a little banged up.
- 1:42:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I think that no Lan since the no Onans
- 1:42:39Speaker 6: gave me, hasn't been the same guy.
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: Yeah, he's I think he's playing hard.
- 1:42:43Speaker 9: Yeah, I just I don't know. I think that this
- 1:42:46Speaker 9: is one that I'm gonna maybe just be on an
- 1:42:48Speaker 9: island on. I just when I watched them play, I
- 1:42:51Speaker 9: don't have concerns about them winning up front. They stopped
- 1:42:54Speaker 9: to run, they get off blocks, they get pressure on
- 1:42:57Speaker 9: the quarterback. You know, Penick's under pressure for forty five
- 1:43:00Speaker 9: percent of the time in this game. They just they
- 1:43:03Speaker 9: haven't covered particularly great. Yeah, And I think when you
- 1:43:06Speaker 9: don't cover, like these quarterbacks are good enough that they
- 1:43:09Speaker 9: can make throws under pressure.
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: Yeah, do you think it's anything to do with a
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: new play caller? And maybe I don't know. I just
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: sometimes it feels like.
- 1:43:19Speaker 4: First second down, there's a lot of easy throws, and
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: you know, to your point, like, I just I find
- 1:43:23Speaker 4: this fascinating, like everything you're saying, and you know, looking
- 1:43:26Speaker 4: at it myself, of you're right, like all the numbers
- 1:43:28Speaker 4: match up and it looks good sometimes. But you know,
- 1:43:30Speaker 4: at the same time, I felt like some of these quarterbacks,
- 1:43:33Speaker 4: young guys have established a rhythm and just felt comfortable
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: and haven't felt like you know, I just I don't.
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: I don't know what the answer is. I think you're right.
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: But at the same time, I'm like.
- 1:43:42Speaker 4: Christian Gonzalez, by the way, that was just awesome to
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: watch that back him going against Drake London, back and
- 1:43:47Speaker 4: forth to really good players you want. You know, we're
- 1:43:50Speaker 4: talking a couple of years whether or not they should
- 1:43:51Speaker 4: resign Gunzale.
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: Some people might say.
- 1:43:53Speaker 4: They won't, but like I think this game is a
- 1:43:55Speaker 4: great example of this is why you need a guy
- 1:43:57Speaker 4: like Christian Gonzalez to at least make it competitive, but
- 1:44:00Speaker 4: Marcus Jones just won Defensive Player of the Month, you know,
- 1:44:02Speaker 4: so you have really two top of the line cornerbacks,
- 1:44:05Speaker 4: and so we point to the line back.
- 1:44:07Speaker 12: You know.
- 1:44:07Speaker 4: I don't know what the answer is, and I'm not
- 1:44:08Speaker 4: saying Evan's wrong or anything. I just there's so much
- 1:44:11Speaker 4: going on right now with this defense that I can't
- 1:44:14Speaker 4: exactly tell you if they're great or if they're very
- 1:44:17Speaker 4: flawed and can get exposed.
- 1:44:18Speaker 9: I think the biggest thing with you know, that I
- 1:44:20Speaker 9: was encouraged about with this game, is this the first
- 1:44:22Speaker 9: time where I've really seen them dictate matchups defensively. Gonzales
- 1:44:27Speaker 9: shadowed Drake London for most of the game until he
- 1:44:29Speaker 9: got hurt, and then they also had some cool things
- 1:44:31Speaker 9: with Bijeon, like when Bijon flexed out, Marcus Jones was
- 1:44:35Speaker 9: covering Bijon and so they had Marcus Jones shadowing. He
- 1:44:40Speaker 9: had eight catches, but they were for like fifty yards. Yeah,
- 1:44:43Speaker 9: it wasn't a lot of yardage. And so every time
- 1:44:46Speaker 9: Bijon flexed out out of the backfield as a receiver,
- 1:44:49Speaker 9: he got Marcus Jones. So they haven't really been shadowing
- 1:44:54Speaker 9: receivers like that as much this year, and I think
- 1:44:57Speaker 9: the best man coverage defenses in particular do that to
- 1:45:01Speaker 9: manage the matchup so that you don't get stuck with
- 1:45:03Speaker 9: Christian Gonzalez covering their third receiver and now you know
- 1:45:07Speaker 9: Marcus Jones and Drake London, so like that's sort of
- 1:45:11Speaker 9: you know the goal there. So I thought that this happen.
- 1:45:14Speaker 9: That happened a lot better. They did a lot better
- 1:45:17Speaker 9: in this game with Dad and you know, outside of
- 1:45:19Speaker 9: the red zone, Pennix was one for seven against man
- 1:45:23Speaker 9: coverage in this game. The one was the bomb to
- 1:45:27Speaker 9: London after Gonzales left the game. The twenty five yarder
- 1:45:30Speaker 9: towards the end of the game was on Carlton Davis.
- 1:45:32Speaker 9: So I think they did a lot better at managing matchups.
- 1:45:36Speaker 9: There was a lot more like low help and robber
- 1:45:39Speaker 9: help within the man coverage structures. So this was, to me,
- 1:45:43Speaker 9: was a step in the right direction from a man
- 1:45:45Speaker 9: coverage standpoint, and now you just hope that they can
- 1:45:47Speaker 9: keep that going.
- 1:45:48Speaker 7: Andrew in La says I hung up on him before
- 1:45:50Speaker 7: he was able to share this stat before Sunday. Teams
- 1:45:54Speaker 7: that forced six sacks, forced two takeaways through three passing
- 1:45:59Speaker 7: touchdowns committed zero turnovers were forty four and oh since
- 1:46:03Speaker 7: nineteen sixty four.
- 1:46:05Speaker 3: Yeah, now they're forty four and one.
- 1:46:06Speaker 5: How do I hate those?
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: Why?
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: I think that's a great stat I think it was
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: thank you Andrew.
- 1:46:11Speaker 9: If it was raining it was it a Monday night
- 1:46:14Speaker 9: or is it Sunday?
- 1:46:15Speaker 6: You know sons?
- 1:46:16Speaker 11: Like is it?
- 1:46:17Speaker 4: Like?
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: What did you think of Davis on that play?
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: Though?
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: Like he just kind of kept running like it was
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: kind of weird. I was like, where's he going?
- 1:46:23Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean to his you know, defense, like his
- 1:46:26Speaker 9: extended player.
- 1:46:27Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: No, it seemed like he thought the play was over.
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: It was kind of like slowing down and was like,
- 1:46:31Speaker 5: oh yeah, but yeah, it's late in the show. I
- 1:46:36Speaker 5: want to be snarky Paul so bad?
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: Well does you can be?
- 1:46:40Speaker 11: So?
- 1:46:40Speaker 5: The stat also include snapping the ball when they when
- 1:46:42Speaker 5: they when they're not ready, missing an extra point and
- 1:46:45Speaker 5: it doesn't matter it happened, but that this is my point,
- 1:46:48Speaker 5: is like you're only talking about good things that the
- 1:46:50Speaker 5: team I know, but they're not talking about them litany
- 1:46:52Speaker 5: of bad things that they did.
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: They had forty four other chances to do that, and
- 1:46:56Speaker 3: we were the first team to do it. Yeah, forty five,
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: I should say, hang the banner, Bart and Poland you
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: can be stocky about this one too.
- 1:47:04Speaker 7: Sorry, Paul, But the play in the game wasn't an
- 1:47:08Speaker 7: OPI on Hollins on that last.
- 1:47:10Speaker 6: Play, I don't think it was.
- 1:47:11Speaker 7: The NFL rulebook says offensive pass and appearance rules apply
- 1:47:15Speaker 7: from the time the ball has snapped until the ball
- 1:47:17Speaker 7: is touched. Hollins makes contact with the defender at the
- 1:47:19Speaker 7: very same moment as Henry touches.
- 1:47:21Speaker 5: I'm going to reiterate that I don't think that that
- 1:47:23Speaker 5: should be called offensive passing appearance. I said that Sunday
- 1:47:26Speaker 5: and I'll say it again today, so you will agree
- 1:47:27Speaker 5: with me. Bart.
- 1:47:28Speaker 9: It was a very well executed play.
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: I thought so.
- 1:47:31Speaker 9: It was a bang bang, but it was very well executed.
- 1:47:34Speaker 5: And Fred made the point of let's just say, for
- 1:47:39Speaker 5: argument's sake, Mac Collins isn't even there. The guy wasn't
- 1:47:41Speaker 5: anywhere close to agree hunter Henry.
- 1:47:43Speaker 9: That was the other thing that I was going to
- 1:47:45Speaker 9: say that that.
- 1:47:46Speaker 5: Was why I don't think it should even be considered
- 1:47:48Speaker 5: to be passing affairance. But I just said, the referee
- 1:47:51Speaker 5: can't take that into consideration.
- 1:47:52Speaker 9: Now he gets the first down without the pick. He
- 1:47:56Speaker 9: gets seventeen yards because of the pick. Now it doesn't matter,
- 1:47:59Speaker 9: you know, the yards doesn't really end up mattering. But
- 1:48:02Speaker 9: I thought it was a They ran a little differently
- 1:48:05Speaker 9: this time. They kind of ran it as like a
- 1:48:06Speaker 9: five step under instead of a slant, and that, like
- 1:48:09Speaker 9: a little bit of extra time made it legal. If
- 1:48:12Speaker 9: they ran it as a slant, that would have been
- 1:48:14Speaker 9: a pick.
- 1:48:14Speaker 5: And I would just argue that I've seen that called
- 1:48:16Speaker 5: many times. I don't want it called. I hate the referees.
- 1:48:19Speaker 5: That's why Brad Allen and his crewe got a special
- 1:48:23Speaker 5: list on the good List because he let them play. Yeah,
- 1:48:29Speaker 5: that crew obviously lived up to their reputation of being
- 1:48:32Speaker 5: one of the least penalized, and I.
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: Didn't see any outrageous things that weren't called.
- 1:48:36Speaker 5: No, the game somehow managed to unfold and anarchy didn't
- 1:48:40Speaker 5: ensue because they didn't call a penalty on every play.
- 1:48:44Speaker 7: Scott wants to know, simply, where are the screens? Where
- 1:48:49Speaker 7: are the screens for the Patriots?
- 1:48:51Speaker 5: They run some screens, they don't run them very well,
- 1:48:53Speaker 5: say do you watch? Yeah, they tried a couple every week.
- 1:48:57Speaker 9: They did run a good one down field screen, but
- 1:49:00Speaker 9: they ran when they got nineteen yards on their opening drive,
- 1:49:03Speaker 9: they kind of put west over, they flexed west over out,
- 1:49:06Speaker 9: and they ran a little swing pass to Henderson that
- 1:49:09Speaker 9: essentially is a screen. It gets thrown.
- 1:49:12Speaker 5: They tried another one to Henderson in the red zone
- 1:49:14Speaker 5: that got blown up for like a yard. They tried
- 1:49:16Speaker 5: another one that almost ended up in a pick six,
- 1:49:18Speaker 5: and luckily Will Campbell was bothering Jalen Walker in mouth.
- 1:49:22Speaker 9: See I didn't like that throw.
- 1:49:23Speaker 6: Yeah, Oh, that was a terrible throw. That was one
- 1:49:25Speaker 6: of the shaky Drake throws.
- 1:49:26Speaker 7: Yeah, you can't make that, Tim, and Boston writes in
- 1:49:30Speaker 7: he says, I'm okay with some of the sacks when
- 1:49:32Speaker 7: the first few reads aren't there. Drake often tries to
- 1:49:35Speaker 7: go straight through the middle of the lineup field, and
- 1:49:37Speaker 7: he's taking quite a few sacks where he gets caught
- 1:49:40Speaker 7: from behind and falls forward for a loss of a
- 1:49:42Speaker 7: few yards. I'm okay with this particular type of sack
- 1:49:45Speaker 7: because when they don't catch him, he can usually turn
- 1:49:48Speaker 7: it into a first down run. The sacks where he
- 1:49:51Speaker 7: holds it for too long or a problem, and I'd
- 1:49:53Speaker 7: rather see him throw it away or try to run.
- 1:49:57Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't know. I've already said my piece on
- 1:49:59Speaker 9: the sacks. I want to see him play quarterback.
- 1:50:02Speaker 5: Yeah, Like in general, I like to throw away.
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: That's what was most exciting about, you know, a few
- 1:50:05Speaker 4: games ago, when it really felt like it was all
- 1:50:07Speaker 4: clicking and he was making through the progressions and he
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: wasn't so quick to bail and you know, that to
- 1:50:11Speaker 4: me was the biggest positive sign.
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: Hopefully he came back to it.
- 1:50:14Speaker 5: If it's third down and you got to make a play,
- 1:50:16Speaker 5: and you try to make a play and you get sacked, okay,
- 1:50:19Speaker 5: first down, just throw it away. Yeah, I don't need
- 1:50:21Speaker 5: you to take out unnecessary hits to set up second
- 1:50:23Speaker 5: and twelve.
- 1:50:24Speaker 4: Is this one of those things too, where it's because
- 1:50:26Speaker 4: Drake knows he's athletic, it's harder for him to do
- 1:50:28Speaker 4: the Brady thing where it's like, oh, this is dead,
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: I'm just dropping.
- 1:50:30Speaker 6: He keeps saying that.
- 1:50:31Speaker 5: Now, he keeps saying, I have to remember that this
- 1:50:33Speaker 5: is the NFL and I can't outrun all of these
- 1:50:35Speaker 5: guys like I did in college. He has said that
- 1:50:38Speaker 5: several times over the last same month, some some like
- 1:50:42Speaker 5: variation of that.
- 1:50:43Speaker 9: If there weren't open receivers, like I wouldn't be as
- 1:50:46Speaker 9: harsh on him about it, Like there's just too much
- 1:50:49Speaker 9: the tape is a tape, Like there's just guys open
- 1:50:52Speaker 9: that he's passing up to try to run.
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: Joe and Michigan.
- 1:50:55Speaker 7: On this point, May not seeing a wide open receiver
- 1:50:58Speaker 7: is way too critical in my opinion. On any given play,
- 1:51:02Speaker 7: quarterback will not see all there is to see, especially
- 1:51:04Speaker 7: one who knows his O line can hold up for
- 1:51:07Speaker 7: only so long. Patriots oline is too porous in spots
- 1:51:11Speaker 7: to give May and McDaniels any other option than get
- 1:51:13Speaker 7: the ball rid of the ball quickly. When in the
- 1:51:16Speaker 7: rare occasion this kid has a good pocket, he simply
- 1:51:19Speaker 7: does not miss I just like.
- 1:51:22Speaker 9: I'm sorry, but like like I'm not asking him to
- 1:51:25Speaker 9: go through to the fifth read in the progression, Like
- 1:51:28Speaker 9: if you have one to two, I can't ask him
- 1:51:30Speaker 9: to go one to two. Like is he in high school?
- 1:51:34Speaker 9: Like we're talking about an NFL quarterback, Like if we're
- 1:51:37Speaker 9: not talking about they take.
- 1:51:39Speaker 6: Long like nine.
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: Look at this guy way over here, he's.
- 1:51:42Speaker 9: Won right right, Like we're not we're not talking about
- 1:51:45Speaker 9: the Madden thing where it's like press B, press B, No,
- 1:51:48Speaker 9: like we're talking about progressions and quarterbacks going through progressions.
- 1:51:52Speaker 9: Like I understand that we can't like ever come at
- 1:51:56Speaker 9: Drake at for anything, but it's just like I want
- 1:51:59Speaker 9: to see him, you know, get better at these types
- 1:52:03Speaker 9: of things. And I just think that for the large
- 1:52:05Speaker 9: part of the last two or three games at least,
- 1:52:08Speaker 9: that we keep talking about the same thing.
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the bottom line for me. And I said
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: it on our show. He took thirty four sacks last
- 1:52:13Speaker 4: year and whatever it was nine games. He's there in
- 1:52:16Speaker 4: thirteen games, he's taken thirty four sacks already. So it's
- 1:52:19Speaker 4: just he's getting hit too much, like and whatever it
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: is going through progressions or you know, knowing when to
- 1:52:24Speaker 4: just hit the turf and live to fight another day.
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: Those are things to preserve him over the course of,
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: you know, an entire seventeen game plus playoff season.
- 1:52:32Speaker 9: Like I'm not gonna win. The crossing routes wide open
- 1:52:35Speaker 9: right in front of him and he passes it up
- 1:52:36Speaker 9: and takes a sack Like that's I'm sorry, I'm not
- 1:52:39Speaker 9: gonna say. You know, Oh, well, there's a million things
- 1:52:42Speaker 9: going yeah, Like it's the NFL quarterback play, Like there's
- 1:52:45Speaker 9: the muddy pocket. It's things they're moving. Fact that stood
- 1:52:48Speaker 9: out to.
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: Me about the Digs thing was like, you know, we
- 1:52:50Speaker 4: were watching it and it was like you could just
- 1:52:51Speaker 4: tell pre snap like yeah, dis is just gonna run
- 1:52:54Speaker 4: a little slant. He's gonna be wide open right here,
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: and you know it's like and then he takes a
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: sack and you're like, damn.
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: It was there like even we you know, I know
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: where yeah.
- 1:53:04Speaker 3: Uh, someone thinks Matt Judan would be perfect for what
- 1:53:07Speaker 3: we need.
- 1:53:08Speaker 9: Maybe three years ago.
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: I don't know about that. I mean, I just this,
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: I don't know, it's different.
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: Let's see Paul in the colony.
- 1:53:18Speaker 7: Please tell Paul and his brother to stop saying that
- 1:53:20Speaker 7: guy intentionally struck their suv. Intentional acts of violence are
- 1:53:24Speaker 7: not covered by insurance. Random acts of stupidity are.
- 1:53:29Speaker 6: It is being covered by insurance. And it was intentional.
- 1:53:32Speaker 5: And the cop informed my brother that saying that he could.
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: File charges.
- 1:53:40Speaker 9: That's right, it's a salt.
- 1:53:42Speaker 5: Yeah, now we're not going to do that.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: Why not?
- 1:53:46Speaker 5: I had already told you fear, don't.
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: Be afraid, Paul sue.
- 1:53:50Speaker 5: Everybody'll sue you. Do you own a piece he drove
- 1:53:55Speaker 5: his do you think the answer to that is, I
- 1:53:57Speaker 5: don't know. What do you think the odds are of
- 1:54:00Speaker 5: me peeing myself if I held a piece or just
- 1:54:03Speaker 5: not holding a piece.
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: I'm a lover, not a fighter. I leave that to
- 1:54:11Speaker 6: my son.
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: But Rich was like, open the glove compartment.
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: I'm driving, Rich, what is this?
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: Rich?
- 1:54:20Speaker 5: We're going after this guy?
- 1:54:24Speaker 9: I've seen you angry before.
- 1:54:28Speaker 5: I've been in a fight since like the third grade. Wow,
- 1:54:31Speaker 5: probably high school.
- 1:54:32Speaker 9: I heard one of the old Patriot fight away.
- 1:54:39Speaker 6: That's true, But I don't think the other guy thought
- 1:54:40Speaker 6: we were fighting.
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: He was too drunk.
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: Is that the story is?
- 1:54:44Speaker 21: Not?
- 1:54:49Speaker 6: My brother told me, but my brother was.
- 1:54:51Speaker 5: That's the comment. The common Denominator and all of these
- 1:54:54Speaker 5: Rich's present. Don't punch up. You're fighting against gravity pulling
- 1:54:57Speaker 5: down and will punch.
- 1:54:58Speaker 6: Down on it.
- 1:55:01Speaker 7: Brother, brother, That's what they taught Anakin. Always take the
- 1:55:04Speaker 7: high point in a fight.
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: I mean Toddham is putting it lightly.
- 1:55:07Speaker 9: I have the high ground.
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: You learned that lesson by losing his legs.
- 1:55:11Speaker 9: That's right.
- 1:55:13Speaker 7: That one Boston fans says positives. We played the Jets
- 1:55:16Speaker 7: twice without sauce. Now negatives. The Jets have two first
- 1:55:20Speaker 7: round picks to build upon positive.
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: It's the Jets.
- 1:55:22Speaker 11: The Jets.
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: You guys saw they got ad Mitchell two first.
- 1:55:28Speaker 7: Yeah, so nothing get rid of h. Wilson, all right,
- 1:55:38Speaker 7: that I didn't see that. Sorry, Mark, we'll go right
- 1:55:40Speaker 7: to you now. Mark's in Connecticut.
- 1:55:42Speaker 3: Hey, Mark, Oh, thanks for taking my call.
- 1:55:45Speaker 19: I don't know if you guys talked about this earlier,
- 1:55:47Speaker 19: but what a joke of the Atlanta Falcons accusing us
- 1:55:51Speaker 19: of clapping during the last snap. I mean, I've looked
- 1:55:56Speaker 19: at display, Evan. I've looked at display several several times,
- 1:55:59Speaker 19: and I have not seen anybody on the Defense clap.
- 1:56:03Speaker 19: And I just wanted to get your guys' take. Did
- 1:56:05Speaker 19: you guys see anybody clapp.
- 1:56:07Speaker 7: Yes, yes, Jayalen Hawkins clap, but he was clapping at
- 1:56:10Speaker 7: Davis to get his attention. And Evan, I think if
- 1:56:13Speaker 7: you rewind the show, or if you didn't catch it, Mark,
- 1:56:16Speaker 7: earlier in the show, Evan explained it. I think you know,
- 1:56:20Speaker 7: he doesn't know for a fact one hundred percent, but
- 1:56:22Speaker 7: I think what he says makes perfect sense as to
- 1:56:25Speaker 7: what transpired.
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: And that's why everybody moved except for the right guard.
- 1:56:29Speaker 5: And that's why Raheem Morris backtracked because he probably watched
- 1:56:32Speaker 5: the same thing and said, that's ridiculous. There's no reason
- 1:56:34Speaker 5: why you would snap the ball because of that clapping, right.
- 1:56:38Speaker 6: I think that's why the coach Rahie Morris.
- 1:56:40Speaker 7: Was just being told by his players. He repeated it
- 1:56:43Speaker 7: after further review. Like Paul said, he backtracked.
- 1:56:47Speaker 5: That wouldn't be surprised if he actually called.
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: Mark, I agree with you.
- 1:56:51Speaker 7: They're all against it us. Everybody hates us, the networks,
- 1:56:56Speaker 7: the other teams. They don't want us to be back.
- 1:56:59Speaker 7: That's why they're not doing a deal with us today.
- 1:57:01Speaker 7: No one wants to help us.
- 1:57:03Speaker 3: I get it.
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: But don't worry about this one. Don't worry about this one.
- 1:57:07Speaker 14: You know, she's upset, she's all but hurt.
- 1:57:10Speaker 11: You know.
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right, that's you.
- 1:57:13Speaker 9: Don't be upset about this, right, Mark, good last call?
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: I love it all right.
- 1:57:18Speaker 7: That's going to be it for this edition of Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:57:21Speaker 7: We'll be back tomorrow at noon. Catch twenty two tomorrow
- 1:57:24Speaker 7: at ten. Yes, Barth okay, Barth's okay.
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, yeah.
- 1:57:29Speaker 7: Is he thinking about Super Bowl yet and whether or
- 1:57:33Speaker 7: not he'll be able to go down, he's over to
- 1:57:35Speaker 7: Santa Clara.
- 1:57:36Speaker 9: He's he's more sad about Panix, I would say, because
- 1:57:40Speaker 9: that's right now he's all in on Penis. But no,
- 1:57:44Speaker 9: he's he's good, he's doing great. Okay, very busy.
- 1:57:47Speaker 3: All right, we'll see you tomorrow. Hey, this is Alex.
- 1:57:54Speaker 9: Thanks for tuning into the show.
