Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: If creating content is something you know you need to be doing, but you probably tell yourself, I'm just not a video person, I'm just not a social media person.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm glad you found this video, because by the end of this conversation, you will have the keys to make content feel easier than ever before, especially if you're a business owner, because content is really blowing up businesses right now.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: And so, welcome to the department, I'm Omar Toquiri, I'm with my boy, Art.MP4.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: welcome back shooting this outside is interesting because I feel like I need to be loud but I forget that the mic is like right here.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, we're using this the light from God today minimal travel podcasts set up we take this everywhere we go by the way if you want the links to everything we're using
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: Check out the links in the description, but we wanted to sit down Because I've been talking to a lot of entrepreneurs over the last couple of days and people just have a hard time showing up What do I say how often do I say it how often do I show which platform and all these things but in the two decades of creating content
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm massing over three million subscribers on one channel, starting this channel, basically from scratch, growing it to a place where you're even finding it.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: Seeing over eight figures in revenue, there are some things that haven't changed, but your mindset around creating must change for creating content to be easy for you.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: So if that's you, by the way.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: Put in the comments, just put that's me, you know, content is hard.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm having a hard time.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: I know I need to be doing it, but I'm excited to get into how you're going to unlock infinite content.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: So the first thing I want you to consider is your perspective about what creating content is.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Before I give you the main key unlock,
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to start viewing content creation as an integrated thing as opposed to a set alone event.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think the problem is people think creating content is an event.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: And for those that did at one point, that actually made sense.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think that made sense because you didn't have to, you know, keep up as often.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't have to, you could just, you know, like,
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was like a once a week upload for YouTube back then for the YouTubers and it would do a lot of work for you for a long time Yes, yes, yes, yes, and people would love to batch and people loved batching content and and maybe you've been like Oh, I've been doing it.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: I I block out of time and then I I've created well the thing about doing it that way
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: is you're not going to unlock infinite content approaching content creation that way and I say that from the standpoint from what I learned from the law of diminishing interests, the law of diminishing interests which states that the time it takes to do something you feel inspired by starts when you get most inspired by it and then the longer you prolong,
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: actually getting it out the way you say it changes.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes the way you say something is why something works, not necessarily what you said.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's how in which you said what you said determines the performance of the piece of content.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: What am I saying?
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying how much you believe in what you're saying and that feeling
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: It dies like this is why we like turned on cameras turn on microphones because I was like, I feel this I feel this right now I wrote down Three things that could really change everything for you and I just want you to start thinking content creation as an integrated Activity as opposed to an event It's good What would you say To someone who would probably say but I am I'm still doing a million other things
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: I would say that they still don't, they still have a messed up perspective on their life and what they do because everything that they do is the content.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: They think they have to film something different because I was just selling somebody at the meet-up this morning that he asked me, he said, hey, do you guys ever batch content?
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I looked at him and I said, bro, we haven't sat all more down.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: and like had him look into camera and shoot content in a while because he's always in content mode.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: Everything you say, everything that comes out of your mouth is and can be a piece of content.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I will save if content feels hard right now.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Probably the best approach you can have is to focus on short form content.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of where
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to focus on now a few weeks ago, we created a very in-depth video on how to win at YouTube this year.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you want to win in long form, go check out that video.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: But most people, I think most people who have businesses, you can crush it with short form.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: You can crush it with audio.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: You can crush it with copy.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: But the idea, the principles I'm going to share, still apply.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: But I think the the unlock you need to know is that you can actually create anywhere like don't feel like where you create Matters as much as what you're saying in your content like why not make videos in your car.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: Why not make videos at your desk.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Why not make videos while you're cooking.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: Why not make the video like you can actually share Ideas you can share thoughts you can share beliefs in the environment you naturally have to be in by default
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: What if it doesn't align with what they do?
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: So like, maybe recording in the kitchen talking, doesn't align with what they actually do in business because it's more formal or it's more high level.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think right now in short form, it doesn't matter.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter what's working is what's working.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: Just talking to the camera where you hopefully, you do consider that you don't want it to be distracting.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: But wherever you are, I mean, the thing is is like the longer you pro-long creating the harder it will take to break through or the taller harder it would be to break through and there is a beat of this The longer you prolong creating content, the longer it will take to break through The longer you take to make content, the harder it will be to break through
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, and that's just facts.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: When did you wish you bought your first home?
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: 10 years ago.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: When do you wish you bought friggin?
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: Scandist stock in video stock.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: Sandist.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: Sandist.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: What when did you wish you bought in video stock?
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: So It's the same thing with content creation and and so here is the kicker and if this makes you wonder anything Put it in the chat your question and then we'll do our best answer
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: You unlock infinite content by seeing the world through the lens of your business.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: You unlock infinite content by seeing the world through the lens of your business or your offer or your service.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: and break that down let me break it down so we're here at actually my friend macy's sales mastery live event and she even has she's unlocked infinite content in the last year you can go to sales girls official yes at the sales girls yeah on Instagram and you could see how macy it doesn't matter where she is
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: She is turning moments into messages.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: She is not allowing the environment she's in to determine the amount of content she puts out.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's good.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a way you could take a moment and make it serve what you do.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, we're seeing so many people even in our program, clients that we serve.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: When it clicks,
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: There is no run out of content.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's now it's now.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, the way that car went on the speed bump, but the speed bump and slowed it down is kind of like people who look to buy a home, and they go reach out to a realtor.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: But before you actually go shop for a home and look at homes, you got to slow down and find out your finances and checking with a loan officer.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's where I come in.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a loan officer.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: I tell you how much homes you're going to afford.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: So before you go speed off,
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: consult with a loan officer and we'll help you find so that you can shop for homes quickly and find that home for you.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh my, what do you just do?
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'll teach you how to out.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: What I just did But now I see the lens through your business, too, because I've just I teach content
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I have a question for you, but you could.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a big one.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: But I just want you, I want you to catch that because if you took, if you left this podcast with anything, it's, man, I need to start seeing the, the world through the lens of my business.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: Omar, I don't even know what I sell.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: Now, that means you,
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: consider yourself or you're trying to build a media company or be a content creator.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm here to help the business owners and I say that because if you sell something, chances are is what use sell is good for the world.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's better than what is for people, whether you sell health transformation, wealth transformation, relational transformation.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: If you sell any of those things, I feel like we sound kind of rush because we might get caught.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: I need to slow down, but if you, if you saw any of those things, that's better than what is.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I love helping business owners because they have something to offer the world.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: If you're someone who's saying, man, I just love doing, I love running.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: I love coffee.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: I love,
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: the Bible and I want to make money putting that stuff out on like okay just like a painter just like a photographer who's tries to sell his photos I mean it you're you're crossing your fingers at a moment where you can break through with that approach being a lifestyle creator and being compensated because you have an audience that cares about your life I think it's just a very impractical approach and the only type of people that make it that way are really good
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like secretly people watch them for other reasons, you know, so so but so if you have a business Start seeing the world through the lens of your business.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: What was your question?
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: Because I mean you mentioned the example about the speed bump You're saying this is a way to unlock infinite content, but
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: Hey department fam, pausing the podcast to talk about this life-changing sponsorship.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's me.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sponsoring the podcast and the sponsor of this podcast is the content to cash challenge, which is a five-day live coaching experience.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: I put on for creators, entrepreneurs, coaches, consultants, and service providers.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: If you feel like you're stuck in business or maybe there's more to business and to revenue,
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you that you don't have an offer problem, you don't have an industry problem, and you probably don't even have a sales problem.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: What you have is an awareness problem.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: And this is why I have the content to cast challenge because I believe transformation happens on a two-way street.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: And how do you know if you're the right person for the content to cast challenge or you're in the right season, you're listening to this podcast.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: This is for you.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: This is your moment.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: So to take the challenge or jump on the wait list, scan the QR code on the screen or check out the link down in the description below.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get back into the conversation.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: Is it essentially becoming a better teacher then?
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's just getting better at the skill of teaching, essentially.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think I don't I almost want to say because some people will say teach teaching is limiting.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's more make okay let's just boil it down to why you need to show up online consistently and and deliver quality content when I say quality I don't mean just production value I mean in what you say yes that what you say has weight.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's more where we can get deeper the point of showing up is to truly shift
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's not teaching like, here are my three tips.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, here are five hacks.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: A here are five tricks to get like that type of content no longer works because you can just find that stuff using AI.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm talking about is actually,
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: Delivery delivering messages that change the way people see the world because of what you said I don't want to force people into the idea that they are teaching though So I mean, so but it's like someone say that that's like an acquired skill
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: kind of, I mean, somebody that comes to mind is speaking in communication.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, do you need to get better?
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: And the only way to do that is to repetition, which if you find a way to show up consistently and consolidate your thoughts, it could only serve you.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because somebody that comes to mind is put them on the spot, bro.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kidding.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I mean, I guess it doesn't matter, but no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think I would say he got good at it.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: He just put himself out there doing what I'm talking about, seeing something in the world and delivering that concept trying to change or shift the way you thought about the thing.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: And by doing that for a year's time, I think he got good at it and he had winners in the game of content creation.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: I learned I learned this idea honestly, it's true.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I've witnessed it, but from Calam Johnson, somebody I was on his podcast, he was on this podcast.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: But he said, content creation is like business.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: and you don't learn from your losses, you learn from your wins.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: So what you have to do is put yourself in a position to win.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: So because as soon as you win, you have the information of what works, then you just repeat what works until you win some more.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think that's...
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: So then would you say he liked it a good job?
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what he did was he didn't necessarily have an offer and he just had a burden, which I think there are people that are listening or watching this.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: You might have a burden, but you don't have a business.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes businesses are birthed out of burdens.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: And now he speaks, and I'm sure he gets paid to speak now.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know if he sells other things.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: My thing is.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's a that's a hopeful business strategy to Hope that people catch on to what you're saying Versus what's the end in mind the end in mind is more business sure like you know the more the more attention I have the more people that
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: like actually value the information I'm sharing and the way I'm sharing it, then the the more people trust me and then referrals happen and and then maybe dip people work with you directly.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: But.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: what i'm what i'm talking about is essentially more than teaching i'm talking about story telling story telling is something that a i can't do from the standpoint of your own genuine personal experience that just happened in the moment so it think about it if you're a parent if you're in a relationship if you walk if you work out like if you can use
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: This is something I learned from Myron Golden that he learned from King Solomon in the scriptures that King Solomon taught biblical principles using common knowledge or using common things to teach uncommon ways of thinking and uncommon ways of living and
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: everything, everything's up.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: So like this is where you unlock infinite content, right?
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: Someone in my program, her name's Erica Lamar, follow her.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: She's a real estate agent killing it, doing six figure months in real estate.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: And she unlocked infinite content because she started seeing everything she did as a local Las Vegas person and thoughts
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: and it would serve him by just showing and telling something like she went to a wedding a friend's wedding and the venue was beautiful and if you're someone trying to persuade people to either move the Las Vegas or you're selling the concept of living in Las Vegas by saying not all Vegas weddings look like chapel weddings and then it's just b-roll or footage of her at a wedding
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: like a beautiful venue and that's that's taking her life and turning it into content and you don't even always have to speak you can use footage like just filming yourself do your thing film yourself be a parent film yourself and then you could put what you want it to mean this is what's powerful about content is that you can create the context for your content
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like literally, I could fill myself on my phone right now right here, right?
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: Here's my phone, my hand, and I could take a 15 second video, and I could say, I can make a whole thing about putting yourself out there in public.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: and putting yourself out there will only teach you more about you than anything else.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: Don't put yourself out there will teach you about growth, like more than anything else.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: Putting yourself out at like the concept of of showing people and not being afraid to do the thing.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like that, that idea resonates.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: And then and then you can like just let people know what's the what's the what's the less in here what's the principle here and so I think in this Yeah, obsession I'm gonna help you consolidate like how to deliver it
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: but i just want you to catch that idea that you don't have to make content you can just be the content and you can make content from every from your everyday this does take intention this does take a person who doesn't move so quickly through life but you actually think you actually apply yourself you actually uh ponder you know i don't know about you but when i shower
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: Bro the idea is just flow like is that the talk I'm gonna talk that I wrote I pretty much wrote through a series of showers sick Anyway, and on the flight when I'm on the airplane a lot of ideas flow.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: Um, what is that?
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know I I think it's like weird like phenomenon
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: It is a weird phenomenon.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: Good-bye, does that happen with you?
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: Um, well, like, like, when you shower in the shower, you get ideas.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, I mean, for sure.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's just like, I don't know, it's like dedicated thinking time.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: No, I mean, I guess you have nothing out.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: Everything you're doing in this shower is not taking, uh, conscious.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_00]: Because like another one for me is when I'm trying to go to sleep, that's when the thoughts come.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's when, like, ideas come.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, for sure, middle of the night, like 2 a.m. in the morning, boom.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: And it's talk, because if you don't write it down,
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: This is what's cool.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to give you a framework that I learned from my pastor.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he got it from somewhere else, but shout out to Pastor Jaden, Chavez, his book just released by the way.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: What to do in a valley and congratulations, Pastor.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: So when I started communicating on our church, he essentially told me that there is a series of frame, it's a framework that you just keep stacking and you do it over and over and over until you're done 30 minutes, get off the stage, you know.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_01]: And that framework is state, illustrate, apply, state, illustrate, apply.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: state is creating an open loop or saying something in a way that makes people stop in their tracks now you could be literal in this I know I don't know give me an example like give me something that happened today something that happened today something you did like in regards to what in any of it see as a thing don't overthink it
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: Give me something that happened today.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: I put a pair of shoes on hold that I wanted and that I knew I wanted.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the moment that the moment that happened is that you bought a new pair of shoes.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: So you're a creative.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: You're a shredder.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: You're a marketing media content creative director.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_01]: You were a million hats.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: You're a podcast co-host.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: So you bought a pair of shoes.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: one which by the way, I know the story behind him getting this pair of shoes is that there was no other way to get it.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: There was only one size left in the entire company.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and the one that was left was literally a 35 minute Uber right away.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that would have been like $60 and for whatever it's here.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: These are all the things because we're going to make a point with this is really good.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: This is good.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: This is workshop.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: We're workshopping so what you're going to do is you're going to write down a moment that happened and we're going to find a stateable way to say why this moment matters.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: and then why this moment matters to you.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then what that means for us in life or in regards to your business.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: So let's just say you had a creative agency.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: And you found a pair of shoes that was far away, but there was only one of them and you were very specific in the wanting them, these specific ones.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't want to buy anything like it.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then they had your perfect size too.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, there's bees here just flying around.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: Please go away, please go away.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: something I pull from this like things so you're thinking about creating a piece of content short form and you went a long way just to find a specific pair of shoes because they had your perfect size yeah okay how is it how important is it for business owners who want to create content to go the links to find the perfect creative to work with the perfect creative to work with yeah like or like find like to not just hire your first or to not just
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, to hire the right one, to hire the right one.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's super important.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that so important?
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: Because why spend all the time trying to get it right if you could get it right the first time and save time.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_00]: So you're saving time by taking the time.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: Dang.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: So here we go.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously this is you can actually sit down at a computer or you can write this down.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: You could journal in the morning or you can have your phone and have a document open and just just start consolidating these stories.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to say state is if you're a business owner looking for a creative to do videos for you,
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's very important that you find the right person, and here's why, then you literally tell the story about your shoe, and then you say, in the same way, there is usually very few people that can make, be the perfect fit, but you don't waste time looking for them.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: You actually waste time, like whatever you're, what is it like picking the first, because you're going to go down the path.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: and and then that's it.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: So here here's why this is powerful because when people that state illustrate it's so next time you're looking for a creative just make sure that they're the right fit and maybe ask them these questions.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: Now now in that process you've literally influenced them.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: to ask those questions and you influence them to it actually stuck better because you told the story stories allow the thing you're trying to teach or say stick.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't know how is that is that pretty simple.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: The number one question I usually get asked by people like you is, Omar, how the heck?
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: Does your videos look and sounds so dang crispy?
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the reality is, it's the equipment I use and you'd be surprised how inexpensive it could actually be.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: So I've compiled all my gear and I've updated the list and I want to give it to you.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're listening or watching this, just hit the description box below and I'll send you my gear guide for every budget and let's get back into the conversation.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: I would say so.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, it could be like with anything.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like you could make a moment have any meaning you want it to be.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: But you just have to practice this.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: Like you, you know, I think the state illustrate and apply is fairly like straightforward when you see as the framework.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I think when it comes to not overlooking those moments is the hard part.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: Because like even you asking me for a moment, I was overthinking and I was like, well, does it
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: In my head I was like it needs to be important and like the sheet me me buying the shoes wasn't important Yeah, I mean, I think that's why most people are genuinely stuck in life It's because they literally overthink everything They literally think no, it must be harder than that Because people are harder hollocks yeah, and it's like so then how do you okay?
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: How do you see a moment
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: that happened and no, it's something, it's that like something is there.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: Generally, my answer to that question is the spirit.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: For me, it's the Holy Spirit.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: For others, it's just like your intuition.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: I guess we can call it.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: for others it's your unit it's the universe it's the holy spirit and what i mean by that is it sticks and because i'm because i'm in a position where i do share things i have to always have something i have to always be where i'm always working i'm always developing i'm always creating yeah and so one that comes to mind i have one okay um
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: What if being a millionaire meant something different than what we thought growing up?
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: A couple of weeks ago, my daughter, my seven year old daughter Ruby, my seven year old teenager Ruby, she had worship practice at the church, and we asked the worship director, Lauren, if she could give her a ride to the house, because Amanda was busy with something.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: And in the car ride, Lauren asked Ruby, hey Ruby, what do you want to be when you grow up?
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: And Ruby said, I want to be a millionaire like my dad.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: And they started kind of like laughing, but it was because it was sweet now.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: You want to know what's so powerful about Ruby wanting to be a millionaire is what she thinks a millionaire is my seven year old believes a millionaire is someone who serves people who loves God, who loves their spouse and who is, you know, a blessing to their world.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: what if you could change the narrative to your family just because you changed the way it means to you.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, something like that.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like, like, when that moment happened like dude, I'm gonna share that story when I'm selling, I'm gonna share that story when I'm on a podcast.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm literally gonna share that story tomorrow.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: Because I even thought I was like, dude, that's Macy and her dad.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: Macy is literally me and Ruby.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: But Ruby's Ruby right now.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: what Macy's dad's name is, uh, such as the L, but anyway.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: So, um, and I help people make money.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: So, right, right, by by by by shifting that by using that story and sharing it, it now creates a deeper meaning for people to make more money.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: 100.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's to do good.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's to do it.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's to make it by doing good.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: and like you don't have to be a sleazeball to make a lot of money.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_00]: 100.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not trying to persuade you right now.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, I know.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't get about like, like, uh, uh, yeah, how somebody can really apply this because bro, you make these things look easy.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because because I've been doing it for so long, yeah, but can it be done?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, of course, do you do you?
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I want everybody to take two fingers.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: Take two fingers, put it on your neck.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: Is there a pulse?
- 29:53[SPEAKER_01]: You could do this.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: Stop.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: Literally.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: Here's what people do.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: Here's Omar and Art Chronicles.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: This is exactly what people do.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: You have someone the expert handing on a platter.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: How to do the thing.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then there still will be resistance.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't that crazy?
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, the easy for you.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: Stop being that kind of person what the and I know you're being audience advocate But I'm being on coach own.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: I do like dude.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: I quit and being I Just told you if you live life You have something to say
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if there's anything you should work on, if you should work on what you sell, if you don't sell anything right now.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if you don't have an offer, yes, it will be hard.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: It will be hard to do anything in life if you don't have the end in mind.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if you think you can just dance through life and things will just happen,
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: Good luck, bro.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but I'll say like no, it's that simple for sure.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's that simple what like I'll just we get literally do it right now.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: If you feel like creating content is hard.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: Try using a setup like this a few weeks ago we were in Atlanta.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: Me and art and we had to shoot a podcast or actually how about this.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I actually shot a podcast in New York using iPhones.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: If production value is your excuse as to why you create content, check this out.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: I just uploaded a video from a podcast I shot in New York with two iPhones and it currently has 25,000 views.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: What if I thought to myself, man, I can't shoot it.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: I can't get a podcast done, then I wouldn't have impacted 25,000 people.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: your excuses for not just doing the thing is robbing people from getting the unlock that is literally inside of you here's a scary thing if you don't operate on it that influence will go to somebody else like I just did it again what it's do don't be a heartaholic
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay moving on.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm moving on.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_00]: No, I mean to that.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, do you have like a, you have a list?
- 32:25[SPEAKER_00]: Bro, I just gave it.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: You want more?
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: No, like, bro wants more and we just went through it.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: No, you have.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kidding.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_00]: No, you have a thing a note.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know if you, there were things you wanted to do.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: How long have we been going?
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: 30 minutes.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: 30 minutes.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, how, how's this?
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: I could talk about this stuff forever.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: We can go into using your phone and if you want, you can use the rear camera and record and look into the lens and we could say when you record a video on your iPhone, you actually can go into the audio settings and you can actually clean up the audio if you haven't have a microphone.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't know, like what do you want to talk about?
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: I got it.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think, bro, was it difficult or was it that it?
- 33:17[SPEAKER_01]: Pick one.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, I'm just kidding.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just fired up because I'm like, people are literally making excuses right now.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_00]: And honestly, you probably caught somebody in the act of watching this pod.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_01]: 100.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: If you're like, no, but, but, oh, do literally the amount of content we have on making content on this channel.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: why are you still stuck you're still stuck I'll tell you right now you're still stuck because you still believe it's difficult but you're stuck because you believe it's difficult it truly isn't okay what would you say to somebody that is making infinite content like they're running the play
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: right so they're posing consistently they're posting consistently and they have a format or framework to create from consistently it's not like you're just randomly uploading yes yes okay what would you say if they are being consistent doing the thing but it's still not getting traction
- 34:19[SPEAKER_00]: in traction, meaning growth, meaning inbound leads.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: Great question.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think the first thing I would say about it is if you have the data from a genuine season of solid attempts and you would say, it's not getting traction.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: First thing I would make sure what is your definition of traction.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_00]: Because like traction, like views, engagement, okay.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I said leads, like, so we actually have these comments.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: You can get leads by running ads for sure.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: But the thing is, if you've been doing that for some time, I believe if you've been doing it well, you should have traction from a standpoint of people watching.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: The thing about engagement is most engagement is silent.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: Not, I'm not one to always comment on people's posts.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not one to always even like, I don't even like, I don't know if I like people's stuff anymore.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: Bro, nobody subscribes, if people are just watching, by the way, if you're not subscribed to subscribe, but I would, I would actually assess the content and see which you should have outliers.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: And chances are, is that you did have better performing content based on what you talked about and you just overlooked it and you kept moving.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: I would say we do that.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, we'll post a real, it'll do really well, and then we just keep posting random reals.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: But one time we posted a real, it did really well, really well.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: We made a carousel version of that, and then the carousel version did really well.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: You're talking about the YouTube one?
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then it informs us that people still want to learn YouTube.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: So then what did we do?
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: We made an hour long YouTube video.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: did we post about that hour long YouTube video on Instagram?
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, not really, but we can we can post it's funny because like that's what I'm saying.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying based on your question, what if somebody's not getting traction?
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's two things.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: Look at what did the best out of the and then if try to make more of that.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: Secondly get better at communicating get better.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't maybe maybe how you're saying it's just not sticking and it's a and it's okay because
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you're in the beginning stages, I think I never want people to feel like easy for you to say Omar.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: The truth is is like, I've gotten years of practice.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: I have years of actually experience.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I have decades of experience at this point.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: Turning on cameras, taking footage, putting it in editing software, doing it for other people, doing it for myself, doing podcasts, doing talking it.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: And, um,
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: and all those things I wasn't like so focused on the outcomes and everyone well I guess we could just wrap up with one night one last idea and that's something Dan Martell mentioned in our podcast in the summer and that was to dedicate a decade.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: So like, how about don't ask, don't even ask that question for 10 years?
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: Jeez.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: Now what comes to the mind when when I say that?
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: Incidentally what comes to mind like on a on a very real level is it just seemed like that seems like a heavy commitment in like 10 years.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's a long time.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the club.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you want to get good at stuff.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: You want to get proficient.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: You want to become an expert.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: You want to be known.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: You want to be trusted.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you don't want that to happen quick.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: And the, yeah.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: But, I mean, that's just, that's just what I feel from like, my generation.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, your generation thinks you're late to the game.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: Your generation feels like it should happen faster.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: Your generation, and for obvious reasons, you guys all feel that way.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: And, and, and that's fine.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: I would say more than ever your generation is more technologically advanced than any other generation and so The excuse to like not do it and do it well is bogus You know like but Do you think I should be making content you do arm it you do make content no, but okay, but you know what I mean like no, I feel like you do make content But but you think it's supposed to look a certain way
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: for sure yeah like you're a content creator not not but you make content for me like you literally have questions you ask me and you don't post that Q&A moment from a podcast which is fine I'm not getting I'm not offended right now yeah I might be you know just kidding no but like you go to places and people are like are gonna be for it and it's like I don't know but you have an idea of what that means for you yeah and um
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: I would say just dedicate, and maybe we, yeah, if that sounds crazy, dedicate five years.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: The thing is is like, all great things take time.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_01]: And that is a, that is a God-governed principle that if you want to be great, serve, and serve, and do it for a long time, and your time will come.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: And, um,
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: If you're willing to be underpaid long enough, eventually you'll be overpaid soon enough.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's a department pod for the week.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_01]: And if you guys are still with me DM me on IG, DM art on IG, and let them know that this podcast was helpful.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to start taking your life experiences and to just start making content from it.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: Literally, Macy, who's doing the event here, she struggled with content so for so long, but it's because she thought of content as a main event, as opposed to a daily integration.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I actually think you could shop consistently if you just pick one thing to think through, and it could have just happened, it could have happened before, and what does that mean for you?
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then if you're actually doing the thing, if you're actually meeting with clients,
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: The actually have like genuine stories of like real life examples.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I just help this couple.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, one last question.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, what?
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: One last question.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: I know you literally just wrapped, but I wanted to ask I was in New York recently and I was with a bunch of fashion designers like these dudes who have their own brands, their own clothing brands.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_00]: And one of the guys was a cool dude and we were just at dinner and he said that he hates marketing.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_00]: He loves designing the clothes, making the clothes, but when it comes time to market the clothes, he dreads it and he can't stand it and he doesn't want to do it.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I mentioned a hint that like it's because he thinks it's a thing, but like in the process of designing and looking for fabrics that is the marketing that can be the marketing and he like couldn't wrap his mind around it.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_00]: So my question you would be like, how much of business is that?
- 41:38[SPEAKER_00]: Is just everything should just be integrated like it's like it's not all Invent because he thought marketing was like I would I would assume he probably falls under the camp of people who have a business or are Tempting to have a business and have had a bad experience
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: in the past when it came to marketing and sales.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: So when he hears marketing, he thinks stealing, sleazy.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: He thinks, um, uh, overwhelming.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's funny because he literally mentioned in the BTS of, uh, him designing people steal.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like people will just rip the idea because they see it being created.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: and then it's like so you know how many people copy my crap but here here literally everyone but I would say to him and this is just a god onus like advice I'd be like hey bro is this a hobby or is this a business yeah because there is no such thing as a business about marketing sure why did people even know this existed how did even people
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: How do you, how do you know what me to show up to?
- 42:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm in my friend.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, how did your friends know?
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: networking and online.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like he invited them.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: He texted them.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: OK. That's a form of marketing.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: So like, you know, it's just funny.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_01]: I like people want business to work their way or something but it's like, no, bro, business is in art and science.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: And you shouldn't be ashamed to tell people about your product.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: If you believe in your product, that's why it's important.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_01]: Sales is a transference of enthusiasm.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: If you believe in the product you have and that it's quality,
