A dear friend of mine Dr. James Rutkowski, the editor in chief of the journal of oral implantology, invited me to discuss with his residents at Jacksonville University, Periodontal disease as a public health issue with significant implications for individuals and communities. Given the rising prevalence of periodontal disease , particularly as demographics shift towards an older population more susceptible to the condition, 70% of adults over 65 suffer from periodontal disease. It's imperative to note that periodontal diseases is linked to poorer health outcomes.
