- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are last break of the
- 0:02Speaker 1: day on this Thursday. It's been a fun day. We've
- 0:05Speaker 1: had a good day. Thank you very much for listening
- 0:08Speaker 1: every day. We appreciate your business. We do years, yes,
- 0:14Speaker 1: twenty years strong to still number one. You couldn't do
- 0:19Speaker 1: it without you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We
- 0:21Speaker 1: appreciate you. All right, kay, you know my close remarks
- 0:26Speaker 1: today is going to remind everybody about this thing that
- 0:30Speaker 1: we all have to endure. The thing that all of
- 0:34Speaker 1: us have to endure is call failure. Failure happens to
- 0:38Speaker 1: be a part of the process. Nobody, nobody living gets
- 0:45Speaker 1: to go through life and not experience failure. What stops
- 0:51Speaker 1: most people, and the saying is the number one cause
- 0:56Speaker 1: of failure is the fear of failure. Now understand what's
- 1:02Speaker 1: that's saying. The number one calls for failure is the
- 1:07Speaker 1: fear of failure. See, it is the fear of falling
- 1:14Speaker 1: that makes you not want to climb. It is the
- 1:17Speaker 1: fear of being let go which makes you not want
- 1:23Speaker 1: to commit. It is the fear of being hurt that
- 1:27Speaker 1: makes you not want to love. But in not climbing,
- 1:33Speaker 1: in not falling, and in not experiencing love. You've already failed,
- 1:39Speaker 1: You've already failed. But it is the fear of that
- 1:43Speaker 1: that is the number one cause of failure. So what
- 1:46Speaker 1: do you have to do, Steve? You have to understand
- 1:50Speaker 1: what failure really is, and it is a part of growth,
- 1:58Speaker 1: a part of learning, and a huge part of success.
- 2:03Speaker 1: There are no successful people who have not failed that.
- 2:06Speaker 1: They just don't exist. And they will all tell you that.
- 2:10Speaker 1: And they have failed over and over and over. And
- 2:14Speaker 1: every time I see you, something don't work. You know
- 2:17Speaker 1: how many times somebody told me that, you know, working
- 2:19Speaker 1: at jobs, got laid off, got released, you know, bids
- 2:25Speaker 1: and carp cleaning company went down, the rib joint went down.
- 2:29Speaker 1: The Al Williams insurance didn't work out. The Bohemian diet
- 2:33Speaker 1: I was selling didn't work out though, shackly products I
- 2:36Speaker 1: was selling that didn't work out. Trying to be a
- 2:39Speaker 1: way representative that didn't work out. Do you know, as
- 2:43Speaker 1: my friends watched me, you know how many times they've said, man,
- 2:48Speaker 1: every time I turn around, you doing something that don't work,
- 2:52Speaker 1: instead of saying, hey man boy, you show trying. Man,
- 2:56Speaker 1: I really really admire your effort. You're not gonna get
- 3:00Speaker 1: that they just gonna look at their failures because people
- 3:03Speaker 1: people kind of enjoy that. I remember one time, a
- 3:07Speaker 1: dear friend of mine went by to see my mother
- 3:10Speaker 1: one time, and hadn't nobody heard from me in Cleveland
- 3:13Speaker 1: for a while, because I didn't want to tell nobody
- 3:15Speaker 1: I was homeless. I just I never shared that with anybody.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I never called my brothers or my homeboys and my
- 3:22Speaker 1: Mama and daddy. I never told him, hey, look, I'm
- 3:25Speaker 1: messed up out here. I'm homeless. But a friend of
- 3:28Speaker 1: mine went by my parents' house one time and he
- 3:30Speaker 1: told him. They said, uh, hey, y'all heard from Steve. Well, Rick,
- 3:35Speaker 1: we hear from Mary nine. Then my mam was telling him.
- 3:37Speaker 1: You know, he called me and let me know. He
- 3:40Speaker 1: came and he said, well, miss Harvey, you know the
- 3:43Speaker 1: problem with Steve. She said what she said? He said,
- 3:48Speaker 1: Steve lazy, Steve don't want to work. And my mother
- 3:53Speaker 1: told me that the next time I called it, she said, Steve,
- 3:57Speaker 1: beware of your friends because one of your friends and
- 4:00Speaker 1: said you're lazy and you don't want to work. But
- 4:03Speaker 1: I know my husband didn't raise no lazy boys. I said, now, Mama,
- 4:07Speaker 1: it ain't that I'm lazy and I don't want to work.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I just don't want to work for nobody else. I
- 4:12Speaker 1: want to do something and get it for myself. That
- 4:15Speaker 1: was the whole thing with me. And yeah, you know, man,
- 4:19Speaker 1: you know, miss Harvey. He tried this. He went down
- 4:22Speaker 1: the list of everything I told y'all I had tried
- 4:24Speaker 1: and failed at. But he never once said, Man, Steve, really,
- 4:30Speaker 1: I really admire how he gets back up and keeps
- 4:33Speaker 1: going in the face of no matter what happens to him.
- 4:37Speaker 1: And that has been an essential part of my success.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And I really really thank God for it because he
- 4:43Speaker 1: has given me the ability to get up. He has
- 4:46Speaker 1: taught me that if you get up, I'm still here,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I'm still in charge, I'm still with you. Just keep
- 4:53Speaker 1: getting up. I got something better for you. I keep
- 4:57Speaker 1: waking you up in the morning. I have something for you.
- 5:00Speaker 1: But I need you to get up and keep taking
- 5:02Speaker 1: your steps. Steve Harvey. And somehow all the teachings that
- 5:06Speaker 1: my mother gave me as a Sunday school teacher was
- 5:08Speaker 1: coming into play. I could hear her again saying to
- 5:12Speaker 1: me over and over the little Bible verses and stuff,
- 5:15Speaker 1: and it kept me with the ability to get back up.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Failure is a learning Failure is an experience. Failure is
- 5:25Speaker 1: a part of the process. You've got to go through
- 5:29Speaker 1: it to get to it. That is no free lunch, man,
- 5:33Speaker 1: ain't no free meals out here. It's gonna cost you something.
- 5:37Speaker 1: But when you endure the failures, you gonna look up.
- 5:41Speaker 1: You know what I'm doing so well? Now, do you know?
- 5:45Speaker 1: It's kind of crazy, man, I look back on my failures.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It don't matter that my carpacaino company called clothes. It
- 5:51Speaker 1: don't make It don't even matter that that carpet installation
- 5:54Speaker 1: business clothed, that my restaurant closed. It don't matter that
- 5:57Speaker 1: I didn't do well in amwey It. I don't matter
- 6:00Speaker 1: that Shackley didn't work for me. A L. Williams didn't
- 6:02Speaker 1: work for me, that I got laid off at for it,
- 6:05Speaker 1: It don't even matter, because what God gave to me
- 6:10Speaker 1: was so much more than what I was losing that
- 6:13Speaker 1: it don't even make no sense. Failure is a part
- 6:17Speaker 1: of the process. Keep failing because eventually you gonna win.
- 6:21Speaker 1: If you keep failing. That means you are constantly trying,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and that's the process you need to be in and
- 6:27Speaker 1: congratulations for winning. Failure after failure after failure, and watch
- 6:33Speaker 1: what's gonna happen. You will have a story to tell.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Those are my clothes remarks. Hey, listen, here's the most
- 6:37Speaker 1: important thing you need to know today. Talk to God today.
- 6:41Speaker 1: He would absolutely love to hear from you. For all
