Latet "alternative poverty report" shows growing food insecurity in Israel
Almost a quarter of the families in Israel live in poverty, including about one and a quarter million children - one in five. This is according to the “alternative poverty report” for 2024 published by the "Letet" organization. Reporter Arieh O’Sullivan spoke with Latet president and founder Gilles (pronounced Jil) Darmon about the collapse of social resilience and food security in Israel with hundreds of thousands of Israelis struggling to meet basic expenses.
