Risi: get it over with now, right? Just get it. here. ⁓ Mike: Just g Paul's not here. Everybody else is here. But hey No, I it's preseason. It's going in the w I mean, we have a game football game tomorrow. The first ep ⁓ game of the season is tomorrow. But we're you know, we're still in preseason. We're we're we're we're we're s we're in O TAs right now, clearly. ⁓ Jamal Smith: It's the pre i it's the preseason, baby. Risi: Paul's here. He's in front of his computer. He's just not in this room with us. man, come on. I miss him. I miss him. ⁓ Jamal Smith: Mm. Mike: ⁓ my god. ⁓ we do. I we do ⁓ yeah. well hold on, wait, wait, hold on. I think we gotta It's our new segment, we're gonna start it. Joe: No, okay. Jamal Smith: ⁓ that sounds good. I like that. Mike: Alright, thanks, Paul. That was a great tip. Make sure you guys set your fantasy line ups and do those draft picks. Paul really laid it out for us this week. All right, thanks, Paul. Joe: Well, I have I have one pick. Paul actually just sent it to me in a text. This is who the first quarterback off the board should be. So let me look at my phone right here. If you if you haven't drafted yet, I know the season starts tomorrow, but you know, when you hear this, probably tonight. But if you're drafting really late, apparently, according to Paul, Dak Prescott should be the first quarterback off of the Mike: If your draft isn't done yet. Jamal Smith: Ha Risi: Ho ho ho ho ho Man. Mike: All right, set them line ups. Joe: Maybe we'll start it next week. Mike: All right, everybody else is here. You already heard from Joe, Joe, how's going? Joe: ⁓ good. Phillies this past weekend had a series against the Braves and battled to a stalemate, 2-2. They needed a 3-1 there, but they got if you look at it this way, they have three games coming up against them ⁓ later on, I think this weekend coming up or next weekend, something like that. They have another three games. So look at it like a seven-game series, and they're tied two two, right. Mike: Yeah. down two points right now the Astros, bottom of the eighth. Jamal, hello sir. Listen You hear that? You hear that vocaling stylings? Joe: Yeah. Not going good tonight. Jamal Smith: Whew, well, I I'd have to say it's it's gonna be I'm trying to come through clear as clear as possible. ⁓ it's gonna be really hard to top Paul's segment. That shit was electric. ⁓ especially the way he put ⁓ electric. A after hearing that shit, I'm beyond hype. We got Eagles on Sunday. ⁓ I'm feeling really good about everything. Go Birds. In-Person: Number one is hard. Mike: Go ahead, Chris. Welcome. Welcome to the show. Risi: it feels great. You know, I it's a Tuesday, right? 'Cause we're after Labor Day. It's a Tuesday right now and the season starts on a Wednesday. Doesn't feel right, but it feels right to have football back. I remember getting getting through what the f what the You know, there's some times that shit just it I definitely derail and I'm not coming back on. In-Person: that horror. Joe: Ha ha ha. Risi: ⁓ you can clip that one. Go, birds. I'm done. I can't. In-Person: I started scre- Mike: All right. It worked. It did what it was supposed to do. All right, we got Game Week is finally here. The Eagles opened the twenty twenty six season Sunday afternoon, four o'clock, ⁓ at the Lincoln. Guess the Washington Commanders. But before we get into the full matchup preview, ⁓ we want to mention that ⁓ Brandon Graham actually announced his retirement today. We actually offered him a one year deal to come back, but he he officially retired. ⁓ supposedly that might be opening up some room for us to bring back ⁓ Dal ⁓ yeah, ⁓ Zach Ertz. Supposedly there's some kind of unwritten contract already out there, but we'll see what happens with that. ⁓ we'll talk a little about state of Jalen Hurts and Sean Manion's new offense and then we'll go through the game and we'll actually we'll make some predictions for our season because we haven't done that yet. And then we'll go down ⁓ and we'll break through we'll go down through a breakthrough of the game this coming week. if you don't already follow us on Instagram, brosone birds pod, ⁓ email us bros on birdspod at gmail dot com or on TikTok at bros on birds podcast. Jamal, tell us about Jalen Hurts. Jamal Smith: Whew, so we are all familiar with the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles have yet again chosen a new offensive coordinator. His name is Sean Mannion, and this is about Jalen Hurts and his learning curve in Sean Mannion's new offense. So the source is Bleeding Green Nation. articles Hertz is bought in and fighting through the learning curve. Essentially, this new system emphasizes timing. ⁓ it's all about a lot of under center concepts and more throws over the middle. As you know, that's not necessarily Jalen Sing, at least not what we've seen in the past. ⁓ Hertz had a turnover heavy camp by his standards, but the important context in the Eagles, ⁓ the ⁓ yes, is that the Eagles have asked him to work through the parts of the field and timing concepts that were not always central to the previous offense, which is obviously going to cause some bumps in the road. You know what I mean? He's not perfect. But He is all in. He's all in. ⁓ the coaching staff and teammates continue to praise his commitment to learning the system. The real test begins Sunday. Can the offense look organized and efficient without becoming conservative or asking Hertz to stop being a dual threat player who makes the unit difficult to defend? I don't I don't know, man. ⁓ the first week's not gonna require that this be a complete put together finished product. But I think we all would like to see a little bit of evidence. That this guy is kind of picking up the system and getting the job done. ⁓ how you guys feel about that, man? ⁓ are you worried about his interceptions during camp? ⁓ what must Mannion preserve from the offense that already worked? Like 'cause we can't just throw the whole thing away. It's not like this team wasn't good for all this time. What would count as a successful week one debut for the new offense? I don't know. Mike: I think it's a little I guess ⁓ makes me feel a little bit better to hear that like the rumors coming out of camp that he's been walking around like a notebook, Jalen, taking like hardcore notes on the offense and really does seem to be bought in. As far as the interceptions, I don't give a shit about that. We talked about that a couple weeks ago, I think, where it's like, whatever, that's the time to do it. Let's have him throw him then when he's trying to learn instead of in games. and yes, I think it's gonna look completely different. I think we are gonna see more passing, more Jalen in the pocket. And I think we might even Jalen run more these this year than we have in maybe the last two or so. So I I I don't know. I ho hop hopefully he truly is willing to adapt and change to the new system. I'm talking about Jalen. Risi: Yeah, and I think we talked about earlier in the ⁓ one of our first episodes about like giving it time, right? We're gonna give like I I'm expecting there could be a slow start to this. And I guess one of the reads I'm looking for is this gonna be Sean Mannion's offense or Jalen's offense, right? Because you think about it, it was like Jalen running the offense and it was Jalen's game, you know, he was the superstar. But I think Sean Mannion was brought in to like make this his own identity. So I'm curious on w how that plays out from you got a the superstar in Jalen, right? You know And you got that piece of the puzzle versus Sean Mannion putting it out there. So it's cool to hear that Jalen was taking notes and through that. But I I think that's what I'm really excited to see heading into this. Like, what is the true identity? Is it going to be more Sean Mannion? It's it's his offense and and that's where it's at, or is this gonna be more catered to Jalen and it's back to his team? Mike: I hope it's manion focused. I hope it's away from Jalen and letting him decide everything because I I don't know how much of it's true or the rumors that we heard last year where Jalen was making decisions and stuff like that, and if that's the case I don't want that happening anymore. Joe: Yeah, I as far as the interceptions in camp, that doesn't bother me unless it starts to roll over into the regular season. ⁓ as far as what they need to preserve from what worked before, I not necessarily last year, but if you go back more than a season, two, three seasons, the the the chunks that Jalen Hurts would get with his legs on plays on designed runs, not just broken plays where he would scramble and get positive yards, but design draws and stuff like that, not just the tush push, but design running plays. Throw I'd say two or three of them in a game. I do expect notice a noticeably different look this Sunday. I expect a ⁓ more middle of the field, pass centric offense, but still a balanced attack. And ⁓ I think we could really see we could really say this thing is a is a success if they score north of like twenty four points. The offense does, not special teams or defense or anything like that. The offense puts up twenty seven points or something against, you know, commanders who don't have a great defense, at least on paper. You never know about this stuff until you start playing games. But you know, I think that's the key. Mike: Yeah, especially in the first half if they score. Yeah, I I I d I don't know. I think it's gonna I I hope it's different. I really do hope it's different than what we've seen. Offensively, I hope the scheme is different than what we've seen. Risi: I think it's I think it's going to be different, right? I think that it's just a matter of which version of different do we get. 'Cause we've seen a lot with Jalen in his career, right? You think about how is this how many coordinators is this for him now? Five? Joe: He's had a different one every single year. He's been a pro. Mike: Except for year one and no, except for he had what's his name? Two years in a row. Risi: Okay. Joe: Yeah, but he wasn't the starting quarterback for both of those. He was in the offense, but the second year Risi: Right. Mike: No No no no no no no no his he his first year where he wasn't the starter he had what's his name as the he had Doug. And then when when when Nick took over yeah when Nick when Nick took over though, Jalen's first two years with Nick, they had what the hell is his name? The guy who went to ⁓ that we won the Super Bowl wit. Yeah, that was two years in a row. Because they yeah, he was there the first year of Nick and the second year. Joe: Peterson was the head coach. Jamal Smith: That was two years. ⁓ yeah. Mm-hmm. Joe: He was there two years. ⁓ Mike: Why I can't think of his name. What the hell was his name? He went to Arizona, right? ⁓ what the hell Gannon. Yeah, Gannon. No, no. ⁓ yeah, Gannon. We lost the Super Bowl, Gannon. And but he was here for two years. Risi: Arizona. ⁓ Joe: Yeah. Gannon. Yeah. Jonathan Gannon. Jamal Smith: Well, we lost the Super Bowl with him. Yeah. Yeah. Joe: Okay. Not a lot of stability for him though. Mike: But that's it. That's it. So you got Gannon and then you went from Gannon to ⁓ Joe: ⁓ the guy who went to the Saints, ⁓ Mike: Yeah. Jamal Smith: I I gotta break it up for a second 'cause I think I'm pretty sure Gannon was a defensive Joe: I don't know. Mike: Yeah, Gannam was that's good name. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, who the hell are we? Stiking. Risi: Yeah. Joe: No. Yeah, he was a defensive court. Risi: Shane Sticken, Bryant, Bryant Brian Johnson, then Kel Kellen Moore, Kevin Batulo, and now Sean Mannion. Jamal Smith: Chain Sycan. There we go. Joe: That's it, yeah. Mike: Brian Johnson was the yep. Yeah. So this is one, two, th this is four, right? Five. I can count. Yeah. Shane was here for Shane was here for two years. Jamal Smith: That's five. That'd be five years, yeah. Risi: Five. Joe: Five in like a six year career. It's kind of crazy. Jamal Smith: Jesus. Risi: Yeah. So my and and this is the year where like Sean Mannion might stay, right? Like he might stay is n if everything goes well, but Jalen may not stay. Joe: No. No. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Mike: No, if Ma I I I don't think Manion stays if he does well, he's gone, he's gonna get a head coaching job. Joe: They make it to the Super Bowl or NFC championship, he's gonna get interviews for a head coaching job. That's just how it is. Risi: Mm-hmm. Mike: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah, he's gone. Risi: That's frustrating. Man Mike: That's extremely frustrating. Joe: The only time you get and I I've said this before, the only time you get these guys to stay is if they like ⁓ who's the defensive coordinator and can't yeah, fan ⁓ you gotta get like a fangio or like the dude who's out the defensive coordinator out in ⁓ Spagnola. ⁓ guys who've like been the head coach and they realize that's they know it's not the job for them. They excel at what they do and they wanna just do what they do. You have to try to find one of those guys. Otherwise you you Mike: Like Fangio. Risi: Event yeah. Mike: are at the end of their career. Joe: hire up and coming guys and that seems to be like what we do. If you do well, y you know, your your cover gets robbed at the end of every season. You make the NFC championship game, Super Bowl, that kind stuff. It's just it's impossible. Mike: Yeah, right, 'cause the only the only youngish coordinator that stays is what's his name from New England. ⁓ 'cause he tried it and he failed and he went back. Joe: Well, yeah, 'cause I right. He knows. He he realized very early on he's not a head coach. Risi: Yeah. Mike: Yeah. All right. Let's take us away, Chris. Do you talk about ⁓ the Eagles roster and some injury questions? I mean one big one I think we know of. Risi: Yeah, so Eagles roster ⁓ this week. So I mean, let's just go with the I think the num the number one is the for me is the Makai Lemon. That is the most offense ⁓ obvious one for the wild card this week. Is he ready to play or not? And if he is ready, do we let him play? Is he prominent? That's the number one topic is Makai Lemon, 'cause our number one draft pick. So what do you guys is he s is he playing? Is he not playing? 'Cause I think we talked about it last week too, where my my thoughts were he comes in He's still a number one, but it's limited roles, takes a couple reps and and that's about it. What do you guys think? Joe: I I think he he's playing. I think he's and again, I asked everybody like kind of temper your expectations at least for a few weeks with this guy. ⁓ he's had some nagging injuries, so he may be on a little bit of a pitch count these first couple of weeks, but I think he's gonna get in there and he might catch a few balls and have he'll he'll have some targets this game. Mike: So in the depth chart that they released, this was what time was this? This is at one o'clock this afternoon. He is it's Devontae Smith at one, DeTontavian Wicks at two, and Makai Lemon at three. Hollywood Brown's backing up Smith, Cooper backs up Wicks, and Elijah Moore's backing up ⁓ Lemon, and they have Lemon as the punt returner. Joe: Yeah. Yeah, except for maybe Moore, I think all those guys are going to get meaningful snaps. You know, so I think other than other than Devontae Smith, ⁓ all the other guys are I think you have like three guys that are going to be in different spots all the time. Makai Lyman's gonna be asked to be the slot probably pretty much whenever he's out there, but you're also gonna see times when Wicks moves into the slot and stuff like that. Jamal Smith: Wow. Mike: ⁓ I do too. I I do too. I is Jonathan Grenard cleared? Is he I Joe: I from what I understand he's day to day. Risi: He's off the pup list, right? He's day to day and it's and and so he's ready to we won't know until game day, right? Yeah. Joe: Yeah. Mike: Like they can say, Hey, he's a go or he's not a go Yeah, okay. Joe: Right. Yep. Yeah, he's gonna be a game time decision. If he does play, he's gonna be on a pitch count too. ⁓ you'll see him out there on passing downs, just you know, go out and rush quarter they're not gonna ask him to do anything other than rush quarterback. Risi: Which is perfect. I I'm fine. I that one is not my concern. The Makai Lemon one is more of my concern because I don't want him to get unnecessary reps too. Like he's young coming into this league. I I that's my bigger concern than the the Grenard one. And everything else, we're pretty healthy coming into the ⁓ this season overall. Like this is a pretty healthy team. Mike: Yeah, they're the only two questionable things, right? Like everything else is good to go. Risi: Yeah, we're ready. We're we are ready to play some football. Jamal Smith: I was I I was really disappointed by how Lemons like can't win. I know that he can't control that. But that injury just felt really big. You know, he he was a high pick, man. ⁓ you expect to see that guy at least go through a camp and maybe have an opportunity to really mesh with the quarterback. Like he hasn't how much mesh time has he really had with the quarterbacks? Mm. Yeah. Risi: Speaking it Speaking of protecting your body, is he a ⁓ guardian cap guy? Mike: Who? Risi: Lemon. Is he a guardian cap guy? ⁓ You sure about that? ⁓ Yo, because he's got an opportunity to make a lot of money. He'd make a guardian cap that looks like a lemon, that shit would sell. ⁓ Jamal Smith: Huh. ⁓ Mike: No, he didn't have one on. I don't I don't I don't I don't think so. I don't think he had one on during the preseason game. Jamal Smith: But yeah. Mike: He's already got a t shirt, dude. The one him catching all the lemons? I'm like, that's a little Risi: That t-shirt's legit. It yeah, that's good. I like it. Yeah, but a lemon head, a lemon head could be a real thing with the Guardian cap. He has an opportunity. Actually, we should patent that shit now. Fuck. Yeah. ⁓ that's it for the roster, though. I mean, it we've talked. We've we've the season needs to start. We have talked about this ad nauseum and nothing has changed from like Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha Well you better can't Ha ha. Mike: Right? Risi: Two weeks now, besides ⁓ a little bit here, a little bit there. I'm so ready. ⁓ we're a man down. Man down, man down, or more a man down. Mike: ⁓ I knew something was going on. Jamal Smith: shit. Jesus. Mike: You there? Your volume's bad too. Your sound's off now. Jamal Smith: ⁓ he's back. Joe: Is it? Hold on, let me see. How about now? Anything? Mike: It doesn't you're not going through your microphone, you're going through something else. Is what it sounds like. Jamal Smith: I I hear. Joe: Let me look. All right, hold on. I'm gonna leave and come back in. Mike: You're going through your webcam. Okay. Bye. Jamal Smith: ⁓ He waste no time. I respect that. In and out. Mike: He like, I I gotta go. Risi: Yeah, I do I do respect that. And that time I'll I'll pour another beer for this one. I'll I gotta pour two beers, one for J ⁓ not Jamal G's, one for Paul and one for ⁓ and for Joe here. Gosh. I'll do I'll you know make it three. I'll make it three. Jamal Smith: Ha ha You can always pour a beer for me. I always appreciate it. Mike: Wait, did you Jamal Smith: Paul with Paul. Mike: You sound great yeah. ⁓ there you go. You sound perfect now. Risi: Yeah, we we y you kept us together, Joe. We we started the Mike: Yeah, we're they're pouring out tricks. All right, let's move on. What are the real ac realistic expectations for the twenty twenty six Eagles? Right now, the Eagles come in as the defending NFC East champs, ⁓ with an early win total project ⁓ prediction ⁓ from the ⁓ gods that run the betting world, ⁓ of around ten point five wins, and they are expected to have another playoff run. So with that, we will do our annual ⁓ Drawing and calling or whatever we want to call it, predicting of the scores. Jamal, I'll give you some time to get out your pen and paper. We're predicting wins and losses. Joe: We're predicting scores. There we go. Jamal Smith: I I thought we were taking it to the next level this year. Mike: It's OTA's, remember? Joe: Do it. Risi: So T eight. Mike: Let's ⁓ pull up the schedule. Risi: Well hold on first off, who was the reigning champ last year? Is that Joe? Mike: ⁓ that's a good question. think it was Joe. And I wanna and I wanna point out that I think every year one of us has not necessarily nailed the games perfectly, but we have nailed the win loss record total. Like we've nailed we've nailed the final record er one of us has every year. Chris was the only one that called a fucking Super Bowl and he called having the best defense in the league and nobody knew the hell that was gonna happen. Jamal Smith: Can't remember. Yeah, Joe kicked no Joe kicked the shit out of. Risi: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah, the schedule. We d we've done really well. Risi: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah, anyone. Joe: The Super Bowl year. Yeah. Jamal Smith: Crazy, crazy. Risi: Best defense. Joe: Yeah, we were all like, well, hopefully they're like, okay. And they're like one of the best defenses. Mike: Yeah. And Chris was like, No, they're gonna be the best defense in the league And we were like, All right, weirdo. All right, weirdo Risi: The recipe. All right. Joe: Yeah. Risi: Fucking Jalen Carter, man. I believe in that dude. All so what do we got? Mike: Do we have do we have the official book? Jamal Smith: ⁓ yeah, we're ready. Mike: All right. I'm gonna go in my visual order. So it's ⁓ Jamalk, Joe, Reese than me. All right, Washington, week one. Jamal Smith: Quinn. Mike: Joe. Chris. I'm going win. Joe: Win. Risi: Win. Jamal Smith: I like that. I like that. Risi: We got a sweep here. Joe: Paul's a loss. Jamal Smith: Yeah, let's pick his. Mike: Yeah, let's pick for Paul. Let's 'cause he didn't respond to let's pick for Paul. Joe: Yeah, we're picking Paul's. Paul's is a loss. Mike: ⁓ week two, Sunday, nine twenty one PM at Tennessee. Jamal. Jamal Smith: Win. Joe: When Mike: Joe? Chris? Risi: When Joe: Loss. Risi: Pausal. Mike: Okay. Paul was lost. I am gonna go win back to back wins as well. Week three, Monday night, a nine twenty eight, eight fifteen at the Chicago Bears. Jamal Smith: Ooh, ooh, the bears. ⁓ Mike: Jamal. Jamal Smith: Hmm. ⁓ I'm gonna go I'm gonna go last. Joe: want to say it's a loss, but I, I think Chicago is one of the biggest fraud teams in the league this year. They're my pick. And I know there are a lot of people's pick to, to kind of decline a bit, but three and O would be a great start for this team. Probably exceed a lot of people's expectations, but I think they're going to win. start three. Risi: They're they're they're gonna win. They're just ⁓ Chicago plays Vikings the week before, right? At Soldier Field, and then they next week after us they play the Jets. They're gonna look right past us. They're gonna they're gonna look before us and look after us. We're gonna come in there and we're gonna win. Mike: Chris. Look at this dude doing research. Who are we? Jamal Smith: like that. I like that. In-Person: He just keeps coming and coming and coming. Mike: ⁓ Paul, what's Joe: Whoa, Paul. ⁓ wait. Jamal Smith: Ha ha ⁓ ha Risi: ⁓ He's a win. He's a win. Yeah, I can Mike: Paul picks a win? Okay. ⁓ I'm gonna go with a loss. Joe: We'll them a win here. Yeah, we'll say it's a win. Jamal Smith: Yeah, all right, that's fair. Joe: She's your married to girl from Chicago. Mike: No. No. That's not to do with it all. I I don't know. I just I I just think that it might be like may maybe the the the the hype train for how well the offense looked kind of this is the reality check. I think we're all feeling really good after week one and week two. And then week three do we we've sh we played them in the last two or three years and it's always a close game. Remember one year Jalen got taken out. They hurt him. I agree. I I I I got I Risi: Ha Joe: You Fucking bears though man, the fucking bears. Fuck the Bears fuck the Bears Bears are stupid team. They're just stupid Risi: Fuck the bears. Mike: I gotta put my loss there. ⁓ all right, week four, Sunday, October fourth, one PM at home versus the LA Rams. Jamal Smith: Ooh, I gotta go dub. I think we're gonna make a comeback on this one. Yeah, and and I'll be honest, the reason I picked the Bears to win was because of the way they manhandled our fucking defensive line. I can't see that changing. That shit was crazy. But I feel like we weirdly match up well with the Rams now. You know, I think we kinda got got in their heads a little bit. I see that a dub. In-Person: That's okay. Joe: Yeah, he did. Sure. I remember that. That's, that's a nightmare. Yeah. Risi: Yeah, that that is Mike: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Joe: Yeah. In the words of a G Cobb old WIP radio host and failed congressional candidate, Gary Cobb, until you get the monkey off your back, it is hard to bet against the monkey. And unfortunately for the Rams, the Eagles are the monkey on that fucking back. So I say it's a win. Mike: Chris. Risi: I hate this before and ⁓ but I I just I I I'm I'm a win that's so it's a one o'clock game. It's a ten AM their local time, right? So they're coming across the country. And the week before that they're at the Broncos. I'm looking at then they play the Buffalo Bills. I mean, that's a tough schedule for them. I I think we win one o'clock games like that. Like the and the Rams, I don't believe in ⁓ So I'm going win. Mike: ⁓ really? All right. Jamal Smith: No. Joe: So am I on there with you for now. Very unlike me. In-Person: came back hard. Mike: ⁓ Paul, what you got? Risi: Yeah. Joe: Paul's gonna say it's a loss Jamal Smith: Mm-hmm. Mike: I am going Joe: So according to Paul, they're one in three now. Risi: Ha ha ⁓ Mike: Ha ha ha I'm going with a win 'cause I agree with Joe. I mean, we just kinda like even when they think they beat us, we block a we block a field goal and score. Like, yeah, I gotta go that. Week five Sunday, October eleventh, nine thirty AM at the Tottenham Hot Spurs Stadium. The shittiest stadium in all of the England game. Joe: Yeah. Return it for a touchdown. Risi: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah, that was crazy. Joe: Yup. Yup. Risi: This is the England game, right? Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha Mike: That I can't go to because somebody in my family decided to finally get married. Joe: and Lex. Couldn't have done this last year. Mike: Yeah, exactly. She could have done it the when she was supposed to do it instead of fucking you know, canceling rescheduling. The fuck. ⁓ Jamal, what do you got? Joe: Like. Risi: Ha ha. Jamal Smith: Ooh, we're gonna go Mike: This is a I think this is a tough decision. I think I have reasons why I think it's a tough decision too, though I'll explain. Jamal Smith: It is. It's tough. ⁓ it's tough. I wanna go in. Mike: Okay, Joe. Joe: They but I'm going to be there. I'm going to London for this game. They better fucking win. So I have to say it's a win, even though the Jags are good football team, I think, and they're going to be good again this year. Kind of kind of is. Mike: I mean that's their home stadium. But that's their home stadium. They don't lose there. They don't lose there. Jamal Smith: It is. Joe: It's gonna be tough. It will really suck going over there because we're going to absolutely fucking take the town over. Like we did, like Mike, you were there with me for the Phillies game. Like there are Phillies fans everywhere. Like we're going to take London over and I do not want to lose that game. Yeah, we do. Pass Young Gav. Risi: That's why Mike: Yeah. We have Philly bars in London. There's fucking four of Which is a great place, by the way. If you ever go to London, go check it out. We had a great time there. You can go to a batting cage and a Joe: Yeah. You can actually get a cheese. You can get a cheese steak at pass Yonk Ab in London. It isn't bad. It's good. Like it's not, you know, like the best one you'll get here, but it's, it's listen. I was impressed. Mike, you were impressed. Mike: That was quality. Yeah, I I I I I was. I was like, that's actually good. And they had a batting cage inside the bar in England. Yeah, it was awesome. I would totally be going if it wasn't for a certain somebody. ⁓ Joe: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Jamal Smith: Wow. Wow. Risi: ⁓ I gotta go. ⁓ I'm a loss. I'm I'm a loss. There's there there's no way they're five and no. It's ja it's the Jaguars home ⁓ home field advantage. I'm out. Mike: Okay. Risi: Pause a win. In-Person: Sizzle the shit Mike: What do you got for? Joe: Paul has Paul has a win Jamal Smith: Huh. Risi: Can can we put him down for a tie? Joe: Yeah, put him down for a tie. Jamal Smith: Tie. Yeah, it's a good one game for a tie. In-Person: Sizzle the shit. Jamal Smith: Wait, Joe, what did you have again? Joe: I had a win. have to win, but it is five and O and like, I don't want to be the fucking, the, the Eagles are going to win the super bowl retard this year. Like I don't want to be that guy, but it's starting to shape up like that. Cause I know who they got next. Jamal Smith: Win. Yeah. That is aggressive. ⁓ Mike: Yeah, you're five and ⁓ d Jamal Smith: Woo. Risi: Ha ha. In-Person: Well, I'm about to make a name for myself here. Risi: It's starting to shape up that. Mike: I am gonna go with a loss. Joe: Okay. Jamal Smith: Okay. Mike: I it it's the Jacksonville it's it's it's their home team experience. Like they play there every fucking year. Like I they're there every year almost it seems like. Do they play d they they don't play in in Tottenham every year. They've they they kind of mix it up, right? They've been in Wimbledon, yeah. Joe: Yup, every year they play there. Jamal Smith: ⁓ every year. Joe: No, they'll play at Wembley. They'll play at Hotspur Stadium. They'll play at the stadium where the Phillies played the, the, was that the London, the London stadium West Ham plays there? Yeah. Mike: ⁓ West Ham. The Olympic Stadium. London Lost London Olympic Stadium. Always blowing bubbles or some bullshit. That stupid fucking song. Fuck that team too. Yeah, you saw it, I was gonna call ya. Fucking three and ⁓ in the series and Joe: Yeah, fuck you by the way this weekend. Jamal Smith: Hmm. Joe: I was like, ⁓ here we go. Like seven minutes in. was like, here we go. Boys get this one from arsenal. Nope. Mike: So I'm an Arsenal supporter. Joe's a Chelsea supporter. They played each other this weekend. It was a one of the London Derbies. There's ⁓ for those of you non ⁓ soccer fans, there's a few teams that live in London. And they call it a London Derby when they play each other. That's why we hate the hot spurs and fucking West Ham so much. Because they're they're the other two, they're the other two of the Ludd teams. But me and Joe play each other. And Joe's kind of an asshole when it comes to soccer and his teams beat my teams. Or, you know, when my team gets a chance to win the fucking ⁓ what's the same league at a wedding and he fucking ⁓ But anyway, yeah, Arsenal won. Two one. what do we got next? Week six, Sunday. Joe: Yeah, nobody likes those teams. BLEH They always win. Mike: October eighteenth, one PM at home versus the dreaded Carolina Panthers. Jamal. Joe: Ugh. Jamal Smith: fucking hate the Panthers. I I it's an illogical hate. I can't even tell you why. They might as well not even exist. I'm going win. Mike: I know where my hate stems from for them, but go ahead. Joe: ⁓ It's a win. They're 6-0. I'm stupid. Risi: Yeah. Joe: No way they're 6-0. No way I repeat, no way they're 6-0, but they're 6-0. Mike: Okay, Chris. Risi: They're coming off of a bye, the Panthers. So the Panthers are coming off a bye, coming back. I all of the st cars stacked against them, it's still a win. We're still winning that game. Mike: ⁓ I was like, Wait, what? I got confused. Jamal Smith: Mm. In-Person: So number one is hard. Mike: ⁓ Pa. Joe: All has a loss to the Panthers. Jamal Smith: He's got a really dark season going. Mike: Yeah, he does. It's like it's like his laptop production. It's kinda it's as dark as his it's as dark as his fantasy s ⁓ football advice. I I am going win and I know I despise that team. I've been to that stadium three times for a game. The first two times I went down there is when they were realistic and realized that they have a horrible fucking team and they only had one shot. But then the last time I went was ⁓ Joe: Yeah. Maybe he should like get on here and defend his choices instead of just sending them to me. Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha. Risi: Ha Joe: Yeah. Jamal Smith: One four one. Mike: Was it Chip Kelly? No, it was Doug's first year, was the last time I was down there. Yeah, and and Goddard ⁓ not Goddard and and Ertz was playing on the team and I remember them just being overly fucking arrogant and just complete assholes down there. And I was like, Yeah, guys, I was here a year ago. Joe: ⁓ they were like nine and eight or something like that. Nine and seven or seven and nine. It's like, listen, you guys are North Carolina. You're not even. Mike: We took over a and I I remember saying to the guys behind me, I'm like, We literally took your stadium over. It's all fucking green in here. Like you guys don't like real football. You like the you like Duke and the Tar Heels. Like you like Joe: No. Yeah. You're not even, and you're not even from football. You're not even like an sec state. You're like an ACC state, which is like not even real. Like you guys are like, ⁓ Clemson and North Carolina and stuff for football. No football culture in North Carolina. None. Mike: Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah. Yeah. No, y y d you're you I I s I think I even said to the kid behind me, I was like, This is the wrong day for you. You're supposed to be wa you don't watch football on Sundays, you watch it on Sat Saturdays. You're in that s you're in one of those southern states. ⁓ yeah, so I gotta win. week seven, Monday October twenty sixth, eight fifteen PM at home versus the Dallas Cowboys. Jamal Smith: Mm. ⁓ Joe: Yeah. Risi: Ha ha ha. Jamal Smith: Ugh. Ugh. It pains me. I think it's gonna be a loss. It's gonna be a bad loss. Mike: Bad loss, huh? Jamal Smith: Yeah, I think I think I feel like every once in a while Dallas just kicks the shit out of us and makes the Eagles hate ⁓ more. I almost pray for it so that I can keep the hate alive. Like you gotta make sure it's strong. You gotta feed a fire. You know what I mean? And this this might be the fire feeder. Risi: Yeah. I respect that. I respect that. In-Person: That's okay. That's okay. Joe: You In-Person: That's okay. Joe: Yeah, I, I think they lose. This is, this is the first one I can say that they lose. There's six in one. Mike: Joe finally called a wit loss. Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha. Mike: Six and one Jesus. Risi: Well I'm I'm going with Joe at six and one 'cause this is a win. This is a win right here. Joe: Yeah, it's crazy. Mike: It's a win. ⁓ no, it's a win. Are we f wow, what is going on? Joe: ⁓ Fuck this schedule, man. Jamal Smith: No. In-Person: He just keeps coming and coming and coming. Jamal Smith: Seven and one. Mike: Pa Paul, what do you got? Joe: Paul has another tie. Mike: A tie. Paul calls a tie. I I do my normal he's actually I do my normal Dallas thing. We lose to them at home, but we beat them there. S so I have a loss. Risi: Is there a n a no contest? Joe: I have it. It's on my phone. He's texting me. That's true. mean, maybe, maybe we don't blow, maybe we don't blow 21-0 in halftime lead this year. That would be cool. Right? Risi: That'd be nice. Mike: Yeah, that we Jamal Smith: Crazy. That's all I would like. Yeah. Mike: All right. Week eight at Washington. ⁓ it's ⁓ November first, eight twenty. It's a Sunday. Damn, we have back to back night games. Risi: Yeah. Joe: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah, that's wild. Mike: Pshew, okay. Jamal Smith: think at this point in the season Jaden Daniels is already out with like some type of injury, you know what I mean? And they're not gonna be able to beat us without Jaden. So I'm gonna go dub. Risi: Ha ha ha. Mike: Joe? Joe: I'm going to say they're going to lose. This will be two in a row and this will be the week of sports radio where we're just like talking about how the season's over. We're firing everybody. That's going to start. That'll start this week. Mike: We're firing either yeah. A coach or a quarterback. Chris? Risi: It's a it's a loss for us. This is a loss. Yeah, I kinda w nah, but we just I'm good we just beat the Cowboys and then we lose to them. So we're we're not on fire yet. Ha ha ha ha. Mike: ⁓ Paul's here. Joe, what do you got for Paul? Joe: ⁓ Paul has a win. Mike: Okay. ⁓ I am going with a win as well. We're sweeping the commanders. Jamal Smith: Okay. Mike: All right, week nine. Sunday, November eighth, one PM at home versus the New York Giants. Here's the bigger here's the bigger question. Are what's the overunder? ⁓ I'm gonna set it at one point five. Yeah. That's exactly where I was going. Risi: Do we have to ask? Joe: Concautions? Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha. Mike: Is Scadaboo playing and is Dart playing? That's the big question in week nine. Joe: I don't know. think maybe one someone's leg falls off this game or something like. Mike: Like I like I kinda do think they're gonna be good. Like I do like I'm a little like I I'm like a little like I mean they got a good They brought a good coach. They brought a good coach in. Like, you know. Risi: No. Joe: I don't think they'll, I don't know if they'll be good. They're going to be fun. I think it'll be fun. Jamal Smith: They could be good. Yeah, they could be good. Joe: Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be, they're gonna need another year with these guys. Mike: What do you got, Chemo? Jamal Smith: Yeah, I'm calling this one the loss. ⁓ Yeah, I I think that the Giants might end up surprising. I think that Dart will s yeah, Dart right to the face. Dart might still be alive ⁓ by the week that we played him. So I think he could give us some fits and we take L on that one. In-Person: took it right to the face. Mike: Joe, what do you got? Joe: This is a win, but it's ugly. And we still talk about how we're going to fire. Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha. Risi: This is the third week in almost in a row that we play a team coming off of their bye. As I look at this, that's that's and then this is Yeah. So we lose we lose to the commanders, we lose to the Giants here. Now this is when everything starts to spiral out of control on Talk Radio heading into the bye. I have this as a loss. And it's our Kelly Green game too, by the way. It's just it's it's got the it's perfect right for before Thanksgiving. Joe: Yeah. Mike: Holy shit, that's crazy. Jamal Smith: Yeah, that's not good. Joe: OOF Jamal Smith: Jesus. Mike: Yeah it is. Risi: For the turmoil to kick in. So that's a loss. Joe: What's I wonder what the record is when the Eagles are in Kelly Green, because it feels to me like either it's embarrassing or they they kick the shit out of somebody like it's never like, OK, it was a solid game. Good wing guys like it's never like that. It's always like they they feast or famine. Risi: F five and two. Five and two. Well, in twenty twenty five, we lost both of them. Jamal Smith: Five and two. Okay. Joe: Yeah. Risi: No, we're on a trend here. Yeah. Yeah, it's not good for us. Jamal Smith: They got smoked in they got smoked in one of them, didn't they? Mike: No. ⁓ what was I just gonna do? ⁓ no, no, we need ⁓ Paul what Joe: next week. Jamal Smith: Well. Joe: Huh? In-Person: came back hard. Risi: Yeah. Joe: ⁓ Paul has a loss. Risi: Yeah. Joe: What's Paul at now, Jamal? I need to know what direction to go from now on. Mike: I have a Jamal Smith: Two, three, four, five. So he he is ⁓ he is two two five and two, which is crazy. Just the craziest shit I ever heard. Risi: He's ⁓ w wag Mike: Well the text messages are telling you. The text messages are. Joe: Okay. Mike: Yeah. ⁓ why don't we play the Jamal Smith: I hope he's in the Survivor League. Like he sounds like he's real good at this. Mike: ⁓ I'm gonna go win. Joe: Alright. Mike: All right, week ten's a bye, week eleven, Sunday, ⁓ November twenty second, four twenty five at home versus the Steelers. Can we all just say at the same time? Joe: Fuck the Steelers to win. Mike: It's a win. We're all saying win. We're all saying win. Paul says win too. Jamal Smith: Yeah, I mean that's that's an easy dub. Risi: It's a win. Win. Joe: fucking stillers. Jamal Smith: Stellers. Fucking hate ⁓ Joe: sucks Mike: All right, Thanksgiving. Four thirty PM. We get to play the Cowboys. I I you know what? I'm saying first I'm gonna win because I feel like Dallas doesn't win anymore on fucking Thanksgiving. Like Joe: On Thanksgiving. Yeah. A hundred percent. Jamal Smith: Yeah, I'd definitely go in on that. Joe: Yeah, me too. You guys, I said what I said. It's like they split, they win. Both the teams lose at home to each other. Mike: Yeah. Chris, what do you got? Risi: I'm we're sweeping the Cowboys. It's a win. Mike: Okay. I have a win. What we give him Paul, another tie or a win? What Joe: Let's get Paul another tie. Let's get him like three ties. Mike: Okay. Risi: Can't have an odd number, you gotta give him a fourth one. Joe: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Maybe we'll see. We'll see. Let me check this. Let me check his tax. Okay. Yeah. There's one or two more in there. Mike: Well week thirteen week thirteen, ⁓ December sixth, four hundred ⁓ five at Arizona Cardinals. Jamal Smith: Let me check his text. Mike: We we're all picking the same for this, right? Like do they even have a quarter who's their quarterback? Jamal Smith: Yeah, I mean that's that's a dumb. I have no idea. No idea who the quarterback is. No fucking clue. Joe: ⁓ I say they're going to win, but Paul has an interesting take on this one. He thinks the Eagles will. Mike: ⁓ wait, we gotta wait. You gotta wait. ⁓ Jacob Jacoby Brissett. ⁓ Joe: Okay. Jamal Smith: J Yeah, they don't have a quarterback. Risi: No, no, no, no. It's Gardner Minshew. Come on now. Joe: Ha Mike: Alright, Jamal, you got a win. Joe has a win. Reese, what do you got? I got a win. What is Paul's take? Hold on. Hold on, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Risi: Win. Joe: Paul's take is. Mike: Good. Joe: Paul thinks that the Eagles will have to actually forfeit the game because they booked their flight on Spirit Airlines. Jamal Smith: Huh. ⁓ Risi: You don't get that take any rules. Joe: So Paul has how many wins? Jamal Smith: Ooh, he's not doing good. He's got one, two, three three wins. Tough season. Joe: Three wins, like four losses, three ties and like one forfeit. Like forfeit is a different category, right? Jamal Smith: Yeah. For yeah, forfeit is different than loss. That's different. Risi: Yeah. Joe: Okay. Mike: All right, then we got ⁓ Sunday, December thirteenth, one PM at home versus the Colts. Jamal Smith: I hate the fucking colts. I hate ⁓ When Joe: So do I. Win. Win. Mike: Joe? Chris? Risi: Loss. Mike: I have ⁓ what does Paul have? I have a win as well. Joe: Paul has a win for this one. Mike: I guess this is our real Thursday night game. ⁓ Christmas Eve, eight fifteen PM at home. ⁓ no, I'm sorry, I skipped one. My fault. Sorry guys, let's back up. December nineteenth at home. Saturday, five PM at home versus the Seahawks. Cause we're in the end of the year. Joe: Ugh. Risi: A Saturday. Hold on, why is there a Saturday game like that? Joe: Ugh. Yeah, it's getting toward the end there. Risi: ⁓ that's right. Mike: Seahawks at home, five o'clock on a Saturday, Jamal. Jamal Smith: I gotta go lost, man. Joe: ⁓ I think they're at home. I think they're going to beat the Seahawks. Mike: Chris? Risi: I have a loss again. Joe: Mm. Mike: What's Paul Hav. Joe: ⁓ Paul has a win. Mike: I have a win as well. Jamal Smith: ⁓ with the wind, okay. Mike: All right, week sixteen. This is Christmas Eve, eight fifteen at home versus the Texans. Jamal Smith: ⁓ we're gonna win this one. Mike: Joe? Joe: It's a win. Mike: Chris. Risi: It's a win. Mike: Paw. Joe: Paul has win. Mike: ⁓ I have a win as well. Risi: Coming down to the end here. Mike: Week seventeen, Sunday, january third, eight twenty PM in San Francisco playing the forty niners, Jamal. Jamal Smith: Win. I f it I hate win. I just wanna just beat them. Mike: Joe. Joe: I think it's a loss. Mike: Chris. Risi: It's a hate win all day. Mike: Paw. Joe: All has a loss because the game's not going to matter. Mike: I have it as a loss because this is their Super Bowl. This is their Super Bowl. Every time they play us. Since since that year we since that year we destroyed them in the playoffs, they just circle any time they play us. Joe: Yeah. Yo, yeah, it definitely is. Yeah. Yeah. 100%. Jamal Smith: You know you know Debo's back too and he really hates season. He really fucking hates the Eagles. Mike: Yeah, he's the one who did all the shit talking. ⁓ all right. Week eighteen to be determined at New York against the Giants. Well, I I guess at New Jersey against the Giants. Jamal. Jamal Smith: Ooh ⁓ what did I pick last time? Yeah, I I think I gotta go win here. Joe: ⁓ they're going to win. Risi: When Joe: Paul has a win Mike: I Like I I I I I I think it's a win, but I think it doesn't matter kind of qu thing. know what I'm saying? So like Joe: Yeah, like, like every, everything is already sorted out. doesn't matter if they win or lose. Mike: Like I'm a Just put me down for a win. Put me down for a win. Alright, what's your tally? What do you got? Jamal Smith: ⁓ shit, so Mike with the Wow. I'm gonna be honest, I lost count. Let me try again. So so hold on. If you if you could see what happened here, I was writing on another paper and then I ran out of space. So things got a little crazy. So just ⁓ hang in here with me. Risi: Yeah. Joe: What? Mike: WHO FUCK! Yeah, it's like do you see that piece of paper? It's like his fucking like it's like his mortgage payment. He's just writing around like the box, so he's like Joe: Here, do me here. This is, this is how we'll do it. Like you figure this out and then do a tick tock and then send it to me and I'll post it. Jamal Smith: I gotcha. That would be way more comfortable because I was I was feeling the pressure. Mike: Yeah. Risi: Ha ha ha. Mike: He's like, man, this count's hard, eighteen. Joe: Ooh, I fucked up. Jamal Smith: I knew I was gonna run out of space, but I couldn't stop it. Mike: He's like, I I poured out too many beers for Paul. Risi: Fantasy Ball with Paul. Joe: with Paul. Mike: Totally OTAs going on right now. Shit. And and look, and then the worst part, like here Joe, let's be real. What just happened here? We're not even going to talk about. He wrote that on a piece of like bullshit paper, so then when we asked for it in two weeks, he's gonna be like, ⁓ fuck. Jamal Smith: ⁓ yeah, yeah, is it yeah. Joe: He always has it though. He always has it. Even though something there's times I'm like, dude, he's just making it up. I didn't say that. Mike: Like that is not what we talked about. Joe: Yeah, I didn't pick that as a loss. Jamal Smith: I will I will redo I will redo this shit. And it's gonna look right. That way I can keep it all year. Mike: Alright, let's let's take this last fifteen minutes and wrap it up with the game preview. Joe, take us away. Eagles vs Commander, Sunday, September thirteenth, four twenty-five, at the link ⁓ on Fox. Look for me in the fucking end zone near the tunnel, 'cause I'll be standing there, bitch. Risi: Yeah. Joe: Ahem. All right. So Philadelphia has the better roster and home field advantage, but Washington is much more dangerous than last year's five and 12 records suggests. Jayden Daniels remains the engine and the commanders added Stephon Diggs, Rashad White, tight end, Chig-O-Kwa-Woe and rookie receiver, Antonio Williams and multiple defensive starters. ⁓ When the Eagles have the ball, Philadelphia should begin with Saquon Barkley in the offensive line. Washington struggled with run fits and tackling last season and making the commanders commit extra bodies to the box should create cleaner play action opportunities for Hertz. The challenges Washington's new pressure package under Durante Jones, Frankie Louvue and rookie Sonny Stiles give the defense speed at linebacker while Odiff Awuah and Klavian Kaysan Jason can threaten the edge hurts must identify simulated pressure and get the ball out on time and avoid turning one negative play into a turnover. Devontae Smith should be moved around to prevent Washington from defining his matchup. Goddard is likely is likely the answer over the middle and lemon can change the ceiling of the passing game if he is ready for a meaningful camp, a meaningful snap count. What are your guys's keys to? ⁓ In-Person: Hello there. Joe: Eagles offense in order for them to Mike: I think we have to get Goddard involved 'cause we clear I mean I I w we're not gonna get anything out of the rookie w ⁓ tight end because we haven't even actually talked about that. They're saying he's fucking horrible and he's not even gonna get any snaps. The kid we drafted, you know. Yeah. Yeah. But I think Goddard's gonna have to get him play because I think the they're gonna try to shut Smitty down because they're gonna look at it as theirs your only weapon, I th that my opinion. Smitty and sa Saquon. That's what they're gonna look to cover, so you're gonna play Goddard, right? Joe: That's terrible if you can't get on the field. Risi: Yeah. Mike: ⁓ unless Hollywood Brown or Lemon can actually produce something, then I think the key to this is Goddard offensively. Risi: I want to see the scheme. Like, I want to see if we if like we can scheme our guys open or not. Like this offense has been about just raw talent. Just raw talent overcoming all the obstacles. So it's like, is that the key to the game? Is the question. I'm not sure. But what I'm looking for is just like, I wanna I would love to see just I want to see Manion like put his touch on this and get the guys open and then let the raw talent take. Imagine just guys in space getting the ball or or just, you know, nice play action and and and just it's a little easier. That's what I would like to see. I that to me is the the recipe for success on this game. In-Person: load that box? Risi: Thanks, Paul. Joe: Hahaha! Well, you have anything to add there? Jamal Smith: I don't know, man. I just I think that we need to perform like a well oiled machine. It's gotta be a very fine tuned offense. I'm a little nervous at the offense's ability to pick it up, just because all the info that's come out of training camp, none of it was like shining examples of being able to look forward and do well. And I I smash on some of the reporters who take notes on training camp, but I do have to admit last year There were a lot of things said that ended up birthing real things during the season that were of concern. ⁓ and I'm just ⁓ I I think we just gotta make make plays. ⁓ Hurts has gotta be willing yeah. Hurts has gotta be willing to trust the system. And i if he does that, I don't think that Washington has nearly enough to stop us. ⁓ but yeah, if we're second guessing ourselves and we don't feel comfortable in the system yet, I think that we're gonna have a little bit of trouble. In-Person: We had a gaping hole. Joe: So on defense, the entire defensive plan begins with containing Daniels. The edge rushers cannot chase sacks and open escape lanes. Philadelphia should compress the pocket, keep outside leverage and force Daniels to solve coverage repeatedly from structure. Washington's receiving group can punish mistakes. Terry McLaurin is still there and is a vertical threat. Diggs provides route detail and third down reliability. Okuanwo attacks the middle and White can hurt pressure through screens and check downs. Eagles best advantage is up front with left tackle Laramie Tunsell expected to miss the opener. Fangio should test the replacement with Jalex Hunt overloads and stunts while Jalen Carter attacks the interior. If Philadelphia generates pressure with four, the secondary can keep numbers against McLaren and Diggs. And I think that is the key to the game. Them not having Laramie Tunsell and they need to just punish whoever's playing on the left side of Risi: Yes. Mike: Yeah. I think exactly. I think like you said, I think you keep the pressure even with Carter and and and Davis and let your edges let your edges do the fucking damage. Yeah. I totally agree with that. And then but I also think this is going to be a good test for the secondary. I mean, look, I know we all like and love fucking ⁓ Coop, but like I think this is gonna be a test year for him. I think it's gonna be he's not gonna have the extra help at safety. I think the kid's good, but. Joe: Up the middle. Dominate. Yeah, dominate. Mike: But I'm also there's I I do question him a little bit sometimes too. Joe: One thing about Cooper I would say about this game you might not see him in coverage that much because if they have a ⁓ bomb left tackle who's playing in front of, because tonsils hurt, you might see him out on the far edge just showing blitz like the whole game. To make that tackle have to make a decision on who he's going to block and then have them drop in the cover. Yep. Mike: Aye, yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Rely on Quinyon and W and Rely on Quineon and Wollen and and let him play the slot, but not really play the slot. Play the you know, I'm gonna come and kill you if or fake the come you know, the blitz. Joe: Yeah. You know, make them have to move guys around in order to block him. Like have him show like from pre snap that he's going to blitz. He's coming. So you need to assign a blocker to him and then you can have them drop off and cover the tight end or running back out of the backfield or something like that. But down the field, I don't expect to see Cooper DeGene involve that much. Risi: That's Mike: No. Risi: This is the game in my opinion. This d our defense versus Jaden Daniels. Like Jaden Daniels, he's he can overcome the you know, the the pressure that's in there. He's shown him he can do it. So it'll it'll be good to watch this. But to me, if the defense can really put the pressure on and and really pin them down, this gives the breathing room to the offense. And that's where I think it'll be really fun to watch. I I'm fully confident ⁓ that This defense, like that front four, is gonna that pressure is going to be ridiculous. It is really gonna come down to the middle linebackers, you know, what they can do in coverage and the same thing on the secondary. It's gonna be really fun to watch. This is this is the most exciting. It's the scheming on the offense and just how dominant that this defense can be again. That's what I'm excited to see. Mike: I I one hundred percent agree with quit Chris. I I picked a win, it has nothing to do with the offense. I think the defense is gonna be so dominant that it's gonna be a problem. I mean, we don't know what Jaden Daniels were gonna get. I mean, last year he was served he was good. He wasn't great, he wasn't the year before, and this is now just the third year that they have more table in ⁓ And is he just gonna be that normal like not not not I don't think he's gonna be bad, but is he gonna become like a regular quarterback where he's up and down and that luster that he had from the first year because nobody knew nothing about him? Joe: Yeah. Mike: It's just gone now. Joe: Yeah, I feel, I feel like his rookie year, like I was the only person that knew anything about the kid around here. Like I was like, this dude's going to be a problem and he's going to be a problem for us. We're going to have to solve this problem with Jaden Daniels for the next 10 years. ⁓ I think he's going to be consistently a pretty good player in the league, but he, again, and I've said it before, the scheme upfront needs to be exotic, like Bangkok strip club exotic. Okay. Risi: Mm-hmm. Jamal Smith: Very exotic. Joe: Not yet. Very exotic. And yeah, you know, if you know what I'm saying, there needs to be some shit that that dude's never seen before. Have ever been to Bangkok Chris? Mike: That was very that was very specific. Risi: Yeah. You know what I don't know what you're saying. Can you elaborate, please? Jamal Smith: Don't don't elaborate. Don't do something Mike: Don't do it. Don't fall for it. Don't don't fall for it. Joe: There's a reason it's not called bang-cunt. Jamal Smith: Well Mike: Holy Maury. Joe: Go home GI. I don't know if this is going to make the show. Mike: What the fuck? Risi: There it is. There it is. Only to only took a little bit of a cookie crumb and ⁓ Mike: ⁓ okay. There it is. Jamal Smith: Cracked it open. Cracked it open. They got on here. In-Person: That's okay. That's okay. That's okay. Mike: All right. ⁓ Yeah, but ⁓ Jamal Smith: ⁓ Joe: So the keys to an Eagles win established bark and stay out of obvious passing downs. Give her two quick answers against the sky's pressure rush Daniels with discipline and eliminate escape lanes. Exploit Washington's replacement left tackle.
