- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Knacky and his time for us to
- 0:02Speaker 1: go to God in prayer, and I ask that you
- 0:05Speaker 1: always join with me in prayer. You know, I think
- 0:08Speaker 1: about sometimes in life, if we stop focusing on what
- 0:13Speaker 1: everybody else is doing and run our own race, we
- 0:16Speaker 1: wouldn't be so dissatisfied with our own lives. We look
- 0:21Speaker 1: at other folk children and how accomplished they are, and
- 0:24Speaker 1: what they're doing and all this other stuff, and then
- 0:27Speaker 1: all of a sudden, our children aren't doing enough. We
- 0:29Speaker 1: look at our home, and we look at somebody else's home,
- 0:31Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, the home that we live
- 0:33Speaker 1: and the home that we're comfortable and in enough. The
- 0:36Speaker 1: car that we drive, all of a sudden isn't good
- 0:39Speaker 1: enough because somebody drives one that's better. We've got to learn, family,
- 0:43Speaker 1: to be satisfied. We need to stop comparing ourselves to
- 0:47Speaker 1: others and be satisfied with who God created us to be. Now,
- 0:51Speaker 1: let me be clear, I don't mean complacency. I don't
- 0:55Speaker 1: mean settling and saying what I have is good enough. No,
- 0:58Speaker 1: if God has greater for you, go Father greater, but
- 1:01Speaker 1: not because it's what somebody else has. See a complacent
- 1:04Speaker 1: person is very pleased with themselves and feel like they
- 1:08Speaker 1: don't need to do anything else about their situation. The
- 1:11Speaker 1: situation can be horrible and they'll stay right there. The
- 1:14Speaker 1: situation can be dangerous, they'll stay right there. They're complacent. No,
- 1:18Speaker 1: that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about being
- 1:20Speaker 1: dissatisfied because you're comparing yourself to somebody else. The Bible
- 1:24Speaker 1: says that satisfaction is a feeling of contentment and that
- 1:28Speaker 1: it comes from having a relationship with God. It also
- 1:33Speaker 1: says that satisfaction can be found in any situation, even
- 1:37Speaker 1: if it's not where you want to be in the future.
- 1:40Speaker 1: You could be satisfied where you are right now. Philippians
- 1:44Speaker 1: four eleven says, not that I'm speaking of being in need,
- 1:47Speaker 1: for I've learned in whatever situation I am to be content.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Hebrews thirteen five says keep your life free from the
- 1:54Speaker 1: love of money and be content with what you have.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It doesn't mean that God doesn't want your blessed me
- 2:00Speaker 1: that God doesn't want you to have money. But see
- 2:02Speaker 1: when your whole goal and everything is focused on money,
- 2:05Speaker 1: the love or lust of money, that's when you got
- 2:08Speaker 1: a problem. And then first Timothy six six through eight
- 2:12Speaker 1: says godliness with contentment is great gain. Now let's pray, Father, God,
- 2:17Speaker 1: in the name of Jesus Christ. We come before you
- 2:20Speaker 1: with hearts full of gratitude for the many, many blessings
- 2:24Speaker 1: God that you've already given us. Help us God to
- 2:27Speaker 1: focus on the beauty of our own journey and to
- 2:30Speaker 1: trust in your perfect timing for our lives. That in
- 2:34Speaker 1: your perfect tim and you're going to bring to pass
- 2:36Speaker 1: all of the promises that you've made us. Grant us
- 2:40Speaker 1: the strength to avoid God, comparing our lives to other people.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Let us see that the path that you have us
- 2:48Speaker 1: on is uniquely ours, and that we are enough God,
- 2:52Speaker 1: just as we are. Protect us God from the feelings
- 2:55Speaker 1: of inadequacy or envy, and remind us God that our
- 3:00Speaker 1: worth is not defined by what others have or what
- 3:03Speaker 1: others do. God, we pray for hearts that are satisfied
- 3:08Speaker 1: with where we are, but not complacent. Let us find
- 3:12Speaker 1: joy God in the present moment and seek growth in
- 3:15Speaker 1: ways that honor You. Lord. Let our desires align with
- 3:19Speaker 1: your will for our lives. God. Let us have the
- 3:22Speaker 1: courage God to pursue God your desire, your will, your
- 3:27Speaker 1: planing for our lives. With patience and with faith. Teach
- 3:31Speaker 1: us God to appreciate the journey, to see the value
- 3:34Speaker 1: in every experience. And Lord, let us trust that all
- 3:38Speaker 1: things are working together for our good. God, let us
- 3:42Speaker 1: find peace and knowing that You have a good plan
- 3:45Speaker 1: for our lives, and that that plan is so good
- 3:48Speaker 1: as far above anything we could imagine, ask, or think. God,
- 3:53Speaker 1: we trust in you and we'll be satisfied in you
- 3:57Speaker 1: and with you in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen,
