Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Share my views with you on that in just a second.
- 0:02Speaker 1: First Women's rugby the semi final time is tomorrow six am.
- 0:06Speaker 1: The Black Ferns, unbeaten against Spain, Japan, Ireland and South
- 0:10Speaker 1: Africa now take on second ranked Canada. Big chat is
- 0:14Speaker 1: about that injury to Georgia Miller. Ricky fanale is Skysport
- 0:17Speaker 1: commentator with us this morning. Ricky, good morning, morning to
- 0:20Speaker 1: hear Ryan. How are you very good? Thank you George
- 0:22Speaker 1: and Miller. I see there was there was apparently a
- 0:25Speaker 1: post put up by a New Zealand rugby contractor that
- 0:28Speaker 1: said it was a hamstring injury that was taken down
- 0:30Speaker 1: or edited or something. Do we know what's going on here?
- 0:33Speaker 2: Yeah? Look I think probably a mountain has been made
- 0:36Speaker 2: out of a mole. Hillowey but worth this one and
- 0:38Speaker 2: probably not helped by this sort of the wording around it.
- 0:42Speaker 2: From my understanding, it's not a major injury, but it's
- 0:45Speaker 2: obviously enough to keep her out of a Rugby World
- 0:47Speaker 2: Cup semi final, which as we know, is a really
- 0:50Speaker 2: unfortunate for her as a person and a player, but
- 0:52Speaker 2: for New Zealand because she's I mean, she's a once
- 0:54Speaker 2: in a generation player Georgia Miller on them. The bright
- 0:58Speaker 2: side though her replacement, Kennedy took Awafo, it's not a
- 1:01Speaker 2: bad player to be fisht He's very, very handy. I
- 1:03Speaker 2: think was one of the best in Super rugby. And
- 1:05Speaker 2: it also means Leila Saty can come on to the
- 1:08Speaker 2: bench bench and she's had an outstanding tournament, so you know,
- 1:11Speaker 2: it gives the Black fans options. Yes, it is a
- 1:13Speaker 2: massive loss. Georgia is absolutely incredible. Fingers crossed if they
- 1:18Speaker 2: do go through that she would be available for a
- 1:21Speaker 2: potential final next week. As I understand, the injury isn't
- 1:24Speaker 2: a major and that's the case. But yeah, I guess
- 1:28Speaker 2: it's you know, for the Black Ferns and for Kenny
- 1:30Speaker 2: took helf in particular, it's like, right, go out, job done,
- 1:33Speaker 2: and go out and do that job.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And Canada, how have they been performing so far in
- 1:38Speaker 1: the competition and what do we need to look out for.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Most they've been outstanding. I think they've been the best
- 1:44Speaker 2: team in the competition. They played the best forty minutes
- 1:46Speaker 2: of any side in the first half against Australia last week.
- 1:50Speaker 2: They beat the Black Ferns last year they drew with
- 1:52Speaker 2: them in May this year. They played very similar style
- 1:55Speaker 2: to New Zealand. They will they will want to play,
- 1:57Speaker 2: they want to run, they play really fast, but they
- 1:59Speaker 2: can be physical as well, so it is a superb matchup.
- 2:03Speaker 2: They've got Olympic silver medalists in their team, players who've
- 2:06Speaker 2: been on the big stage that you know. To me,
- 2:09Speaker 2: it is the best match of the tournament on paper
- 2:12Speaker 2: at least looks like the wead is going to be
- 2:13Speaker 2: nice and dry for both teams too, so that'll be
- 2:16Speaker 2: a factor giving them that opportunity to run and to
- 2:19Speaker 2: rarely play. So it should be an absolute belter and
- 2:23Speaker 2: perfect time at six am on a Saturday morning in
- 2:25Speaker 2: New Zealand as well. That's a bacon and eggs Brecky
- 2:27Speaker 2: if ever there.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Was one, frigiantly look forward to it, Ricky. Thank you,
- 2:30Speaker 1: Ricky sonel Skysport commentator. The game is tomorrow six o'clock.
