- 0:01Speaker 1: Big 98.7.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Now, Mikey had a bit of a moment last week
- 0:05Speaker 2: that I could not have been more prouder of.
- 0:07Speaker 3: You know.
- 0:10Speaker 4: What's annoying is that when I told you this, I
- 0:13Speaker 4: thought I was just sharing a little piece of my life,
- 0:17Speaker 4: and you took it as you must let the world
- 0:20Speaker 4: know that Mikey doesn't bend to your every whim.
- 0:25Speaker 2: This was a wonderful moment in my day, to be honest.
- 0:29Speaker 2: What happened?
- 0:29Speaker 5: Here's the situation.
- 0:31Speaker 4: Mikey and I, along with the kids, were heading out
- 0:34Speaker 4: of town in a few weeks because a friend of
- 0:37Speaker 4: ours is turning 40. The big 4-0, we've been invited
- 0:41Speaker 4: to go celebrate.
- 0:42Speaker 5: So, of course, we said yes.
- 0:44Speaker 4: But we've known about this for a long time and
- 0:46Speaker 4: didn't think to book our flights until literally, like, the
- 0:51Speaker 4: other day.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Most Angie thing I've ever heard.
- 0:53Speaker 5: Yeah, okay.
- 0:54Speaker 4: So, flights... More expensive than we would want them to be,
- 0:59Speaker 4: but we have to go, so not going was never
- 1:03Speaker 4: going to be an option. So we're trying to book
- 1:05Speaker 4: these flights, and the thing is, because I get out
- 1:07Speaker 4: of work earlier than Mikey does and before the kids
- 1:10Speaker 4: get out of school, I'm taking an earlier flight in,
- 1:14Speaker 4: and then Mikey and the boys are taking a later flight,
- 1:16Speaker 4: so nobody misses school.
- 1:18Speaker 5: Okay, cool.
- 1:19Speaker 4: To make this work so that we get on the
- 1:21Speaker 4: same return flight, I wanted us to be side-by-side... booking
- 1:26Speaker 4: the things, okay? There's four of us. So how we
- 1:30Speaker 4: always do it is three of us in a row
- 1:33Speaker 4: and then the fourth person in the aisle seat of
- 1:36Speaker 4: the row across the way, right?
- 1:37Speaker 5: You can picture that in your brain. So I'm telling Mikey.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Hey, make sure, get the seats and check that there's
- 1:44Speaker 4: an empty one so that I can book that one.
- 1:47Speaker 4: I feel like I was giving very explicit instructions. He's
- 1:51Speaker 4: kind of like, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, I got it,
- 1:52Speaker 4: I got it. When it comes time for me to
- 1:55Speaker 4: book my aisle seat, he had finished booking right before me.
- 1:59Speaker 4: And I said, oh, OK, so where is the seat
- 2:02Speaker 4: row of seats?
- 2:03Speaker 5: And he said, oh, I don't know.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds like a response I would give. Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 5: What do you mean you don't know?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 2:09Speaker 5: I was just picking the seats so fast.
- 2:11Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 2:12Speaker 5: Can you check? I'm looking in the email and I
- 2:15Speaker 5: don't really see it.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:18Speaker 2: This is the most dude thing ever.
- 2:20Speaker 4: So I'm like irritated and I'm starting to get very snippy.
- 2:25Speaker 5: And I have to.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Which is also the least surprising thing I've ever heard.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I know.
- 2:30Speaker 4: I know.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:31Speaker 4: I'm a fiery Latina. What do you want from me?
- 2:34Speaker 4: So I decide, well, I have to book. I'm just
- 2:36Speaker 4: going to pick one and hope for the best. I
- 2:38Speaker 4: have to book it because you know how these flights
- 2:40Speaker 4: be going. The second you refresh or start over, it's
- 2:44Speaker 4: gone or more expensive.
- 2:45Speaker 5: So I just booked it.
- 2:48Speaker 4: A second after I book, I confirm my payment method.
- 2:52Speaker 2: It goes through.
- 2:53Speaker 5: He goes, oh, I just had to log in. These
- 2:55Speaker 5: are where our seats are. I will smack you.
- 2:59Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 3:02Speaker 4: Why didn't you log in literally 4.5 seconds earlier?
- 3:05Speaker 5: I was irate.
- 3:08Speaker 4: And then I realized, Angie, you need to calm down.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Mikey is a nice man.
- 3:13Speaker 5: You love him.
- 3:14Speaker 4: And so I took a deep breath and I said,
- 3:18Speaker 4: I'm sorry that I was snippy with you.
- 3:19Speaker 5: And he looks at me and he said.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you were really biting the hand that feeds you
- 3:23Speaker 4: there for a second.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I could not have been more thrilled. This man will
- 3:31Speaker 2: get an hour of his lunch break or whatever and
- 3:33Speaker 2: come here to get Angie's car to put gas in it.
- 3:37Speaker 2: This dude would wake up at the four o'clock strike
- 3:41Speaker 2: of dawn to drive Angie to work every day for
- 3:44Speaker 2: like a year and a half. I could not have
- 3:47Speaker 2: been more happy for my boy to sneak in a
- 3:49Speaker 2: little like, and I know how he said it because
- 3:51Speaker 2: he's the sweetest guy on the planet. He probably went, well,
- 3:53Speaker 2: you're really kind of biting the hand that feeds you.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Instead of saying it with some toad that I wish
- 3:57Speaker 2: he would have.
- 3:58Speaker 4: You know, I did for a second have the audacity
- 4:00Speaker 4: to be mad. And then I quickly burned, like stomped
- 4:04Speaker 4: out that flame because correct. I really was biting because
- 4:07Speaker 4: he absolutely, when I put in the card number, it
- 4:10Speaker 4: was not mine.
- 4:11Speaker 5: It was Mikey's.
- 4:12Speaker 1: You didn't even pay?
- 4:14Speaker 2: I didn't know this caveat. Oh, my God.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Drop it, drop it. Big 98.7. Celebrating life's little victories. Victory.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Every morning, we practice gratitude on Big 98.7. If I could,
- 4:27Speaker 1: I would.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Keep this feeling in a plastic jar.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Bust it out whenever someone's acting hard. I just really
- 4:33Speaker 1: needed a win, you know. Share your little victories with
- 4:35Speaker 1: us at 701-280-1987.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Do you have a little victory for me today, Angie?
- 4:42Speaker 4: Fire up the membership card making machine because.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Liam, my little Liam... has just.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Joined the bike community.
- 4:52Speaker 5: All right.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Yeah, he learned how to ride a bike yesterday. And
- 4:57Speaker 4: so he's nine, and I know that's a little late
- 4:59Speaker 4: in the game, but we tried to teach him a
- 5:01Speaker 4: couple years ago, and then a bunch of life stuff happened,
- 5:05Speaker 4: and that got put on the back burner. So yesterday
- 5:08Speaker 4: we were like, we got to get you riding this bike.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Before the season turns.
- 5:12Speaker 4: That's right. It was surprisingly fast. He caught on so quickly.
- 5:17Speaker 4: It maybe took 15 minutes. And then this kid was
- 5:20Speaker 4: just soaring. So he's very excited that now he can
- 5:24Speaker 4: ride his bike while his older brother rides his bike.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Mikey's got a bike. Hey, I don't have a bike.
- 5:31Speaker 2: You're the only bike-less individual.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Yes, I want to be part of the bike community,
- 5:35Speaker 4: so I guess I'm next on the list. I mean,
- 5:37Speaker 4: I know how to ride a bike, but I don't
- 5:39Speaker 4: have one right now.
- 5:40Speaker 2: You don't know how to own a bike.
- 5:42Speaker 4: No, exactly. But yes, so a big congrats, a huge
- 5:46Speaker 4: victory for my little Liam, who now can ride a bike.
- 5:50Speaker 2: My little victory. I have just a slew of little
- 5:53Speaker 2: victories from the weekend, but we took our daughter to
- 5:56Speaker 2: the zoo for the first time this weekend in Fargo,
- 6:00Speaker 2: which was great. We also had some of Corey's childhood
- 6:04Speaker 2: friends that came to visit with their mother, so it
- 6:07Speaker 2: was just a big kind of family weekend.
- 6:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:09Speaker 2: We also had my wife's six-week checkup that went well,
- 6:14Speaker 2: so that means maybe baby number two on the way.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:18Speaker 2: No, I'm just kidding. But I will say I have
- 6:21Speaker 2: savored this moment for as long as possible. There are
- 6:24Speaker 2: a billion little victories I could choose from, but I
- 6:27Speaker 2: have to pick this one. My buddy, his name is
- 6:30Speaker 2: Jordan Rube. We call him Ruby. Okay. That's a good nickname. Yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 2: him and I went golfing on Saturday, and we played
- 6:38Speaker 2: at Village Green Golf Course. It's over in Moorhead. It's
- 6:42Speaker 2: actually right off 94, if you've ever been driving.
- 6:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that's the one you've played with Mikey, right?
- 6:46Speaker 2: I've played with Mikey there plenty of times. Well, on
- 6:48Speaker 2: hole 12 at Village Green, it is a par 4
- 6:52Speaker 2: that is 300 yards, or like 299. I can't remember
- 6:56Speaker 2: exactly off the top of my head. Okay. I have
- 6:59Speaker 2: dreamed of taking out the big stick. We're talking driver. Yeah.
- 7:03Speaker 2: And driving the green. Okay. Because a lot of people,
- 7:06Speaker 2: they'll take out like a five iron or a three wood.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Okay.
- 7:09Speaker 2: And I think you've actually heard me complaining about people
- 7:12Speaker 2: who do that.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Yes, I actually have.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Get your driver out and give me a good story.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yes.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Well, on one whole. Ruby and I both drove the
- 7:22Speaker 2: green on hole 12 at Village Green, which I have
- 7:26Speaker 2: been dreaming of since I started playing golf there.
- 7:28Speaker 5: This is so sweet.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Was it fun? Because if you don't know, there's like
- 7:33Speaker 2: water on the right. There's a bunch of stuff.
- 7:35Speaker 4: On the left.
- 7:36Speaker 5: A lot can go wrong.
- 7:37Speaker 2: It is a tough shot. You know, it is kind
- 7:39Speaker 2: of a narrow fairway. And Ruby and I both took
- 7:42Speaker 2: out the big stick, the big dog, and we let
- 7:44Speaker 2: it eat. We both got on the green from the
- 7:47Speaker 2: tee box, which is very exciting because it's like a
- 7:50Speaker 2: 300-yard shot. Yeah, good for you. Yeah, I played the
- 7:53Speaker 2: best round of golf I've played in years on Saturday.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Yeah. I hope my man Mikey is listening to this
- 8:00Speaker 4: right now. He would be so proud of you.
- 8:01Speaker 2: He knows the hole I'm talking about.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I was actually on, by the time we got to
- 8:06Speaker 2: hole six, I was one under through the first six.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Which is incredible that I have never played golf this
- 8:14Speaker 2: well in my life until this past Saturday.
- 8:16Speaker 4: So to recap, your golf game, way more important than
- 8:20Speaker 4: all the family coming to visit.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Got it.
- 8:23Speaker 2: 1,000% more exciting, I'll tell you that. And what a
- 8:30Speaker 2: big weekend, the Bison making history at the Fargo Dome.
- 8:36Speaker 2: It was so cool to see all of the videos.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I think one of my favorite videos is one of
- 8:43Speaker 2: the ones I saw of all the players and head
- 8:45Speaker 2: coach Polasek, you know, going on to the field for
- 8:48Speaker 2: the first time. You see the Fargo Dome just... packed
- 8:52Speaker 2: and rocking, and it was a crowd of over 18,000,
- 8:55Speaker 2: which is wonderful. Angie and I talked a little bit
- 8:58Speaker 2: about this off the air, but for a First intro to, like,
- 9:03Speaker 2: FBS football, you know? I don't know if it could
- 9:06Speaker 2: go better. Right? Like, a dominating win. You got to
- 9:11Speaker 2: start at home, so it's like you were a team
- 9:14Speaker 2: on the road. The game obviously went really well for
- 9:17Speaker 2: the Bison, and it was just really cool to see
- 9:20Speaker 2: all of the fun and excitement on social media.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Well, it's also nice to walk into the building today,
- 9:26Speaker 4: and everyone.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Just is in a good mood.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that is true.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Like, it kind of doesn't matter whatever else may have
- 9:31Speaker 4: happened to anyone over the weekend, but it's like, okay, yeah,
- 9:34Speaker 4: but Bison Nation.
- 9:36Speaker 5: Like, we're all together. celebrating this huge win. I mean,
- 9:41Speaker 5: what a start to the FBS era. I really love this.
- 9:45Speaker 2: And if you were at the game or, you know,
- 9:47Speaker 2: any of the tailgating and you got some cool pictures,
- 9:49Speaker 2: we'd love to see them. Send them to us at 701-280-1987.
- 9:54Speaker 2: But it's just so fun hearing from Coach Palasek, you know,
- 9:57Speaker 2: after the game talking about what it means to to
- 10:00Speaker 2: Fargo and the town and the FM area in general.
- 10:04Speaker 2: It's just such a perfect, no pun intended here, kickoff
- 10:07Speaker 2: to the season. And it's just cool to be a
- 10:10Speaker 2: part of, you know, when I'm 70 and get to
- 10:12Speaker 2: look back on my life and I'm just going, oh man,
- 10:15Speaker 2: I got to be in the town the day that,
- 10:18Speaker 2: you know, the Bison joined the FBS. I was there
- 10:22Speaker 2: that weekend and got to be a part of the
- 10:25Speaker 2: excitement around town. And it's just, it's so cool.
- 10:27Speaker 4: You know, what is I think really exciting is that
- 10:30Speaker 4: just on Friday, we had the voice of the Bison,
- 10:33Speaker 4: Sam Niederman here for WAMBAM. Thank you, Sam, presented by
- 10:37Speaker 4: Gateway Chevrolet.
- 10:38Speaker 5: And He was.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Obviously very excited. It's like before anything, you know what's
- 10:43Speaker 4: going to happen.
- 10:43Speaker 5: Obviously, it's very exciting.
- 10:45Speaker 4: And then there was that small part of me, though,
- 10:47Speaker 4: that thought, OK, he's going to be back with us
- 10:49Speaker 4: on the next Friday. And if the Bison didn't win, obviously,
- 10:54Speaker 4: we're still fans. But it would have been like, oh, man.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 10:58Speaker 5: And thankfully, that is not the case.
- 11:00Speaker 4: So it'll be even more exciting after this first game.
- 11:04Speaker 4: to see uh all things bison with sam niederman.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Yeah and uh next up fordham comes to town saturday
- 11:12Speaker 2: at 2 30 and you know also and i don't
- 11:14Speaker 2: want to go too long here but also uh what
- 11:16Speaker 2: a perfect time to start the game 4 30 yeah
- 11:19Speaker 2: you it could not have lined up better you had
- 11:22Speaker 2: all day to like build up the excitement get around
- 11:25Speaker 2: some more fans if you're tailgating and things like that
- 11:28Speaker 2: For an intro to the FBS, I don't know if
- 11:31Speaker 2: it has been better for any other school, maybe in history,
- 11:35Speaker 2: who has made that leap from the FCS to the FBS.
- 11:38Speaker 2: So congratulations to all the players and those coaches and
- 11:42Speaker 2: the program just in general. So exciting this morning here
- 11:45Speaker 2: with Big 98.7. Drop it, drop it.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Big 98.7.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Baby, baby, baby.
- 11:48Speaker 5: Oh, baby.
- 11:53Speaker 2: My wife, Corey, myself, and my daughter, Kaylee, went to
- 11:56Speaker 2: the Red River Zoo this weekend. It was Kaylee's first
- 11:59Speaker 2: ever zoo experience. And she slept through the entirety of
- 12:04Speaker 2: our walk through the zoo. You know, it takes an
- 12:06Speaker 2: hour or so to kind of hour, hour and a
- 12:08Speaker 2: half to kind of get your way and make your
- 12:09Speaker 2: way around the Red River Zoo. And it was wonderful.
- 12:12Speaker 2: It was really, really fun. We had Corey's like childhood
- 12:15Speaker 2: friends were up visiting with their mother. So just another
- 12:20Speaker 2: weekend full of visitors for the Gliddens.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I was going to say.
- 12:22Speaker 4: To say, I've never seen anybody have so many friends
- 12:25Speaker 4: and family come visit for a new baby. It makes
- 12:28Speaker 4: me think that nobody loved me when.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I had mine. It is insane. We have had visitors
- 12:33Speaker 2: pretty much every weekend since the last weekend in July.
- 12:37Speaker 2: If I'm not mistaken, her brother will be here this
- 12:40Speaker 2: coming up weekend.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, I'm trying to get in some baby
- 12:43Speaker 4: time and there's always someone in my way.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I know, and I realized something walking around the zoo.
- 12:49Speaker 2: It was like perfect weather To bring the kids out.
- 12:53Speaker 2: It was like kind of cloudy, but little sprinkles of
- 12:56Speaker 2: sun and 70 something degrees, you know, so really good
- 13:00Speaker 2: day for the kids to be out at the zoo.
- 13:02Speaker 2: And I realized as I'm pushing my daughter in her
- 13:05Speaker 2: stroller through the zoo looking at these animals, I am
- 13:09Speaker 2: now checking out everyone else's who has kids. You know
- 13:13Speaker 2: when you buy a car and that's the only car
- 13:15Speaker 2: you see on the road for the rest of your life?
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:18Speaker 2: You're like, everybody has this car. I am sitting here
- 13:20Speaker 2: looking at strollers going, oh, wait. I like this part
- 13:23Speaker 2: of this stroller, and I really like this part of
- 13:26Speaker 2: this stroller. I really don't like this one of this stroller.
- 13:29Speaker 2: What stroller you got? What about this person? They got
- 13:31Speaker 2: a wagon they're carrying these kids in.
- 13:33Speaker 5: You are such a parent now.
- 13:36Speaker 2: It felt very dad. I'm like, how do I get
- 13:38Speaker 2: this stroller? I like the industrial wheels on that thing.
- 13:42Speaker 2: It was the most dad I've ever felt in my life.
- 13:45Speaker 4: But I like this. I love this journey for you
- 13:47Speaker 4: because very dad, but still very Gabe.
- 13:51Speaker 5: You are still so Gabe. And I love this.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I can't be the only one. When you had a
- 13:59Speaker 2: kid and you started going out and exploring the world
- 14:02Speaker 2: with said kid, what did you realize had changed about
- 14:06Speaker 2: you a little bit? It was kind of the same
- 14:08Speaker 2: when I got engaged or got married. When I would
- 14:10Speaker 2: go grocery shopping with Corey, I started noticing dudes wearing
- 14:14Speaker 2: rings a lot more often.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Oh, that's cute.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It's just something you don't really look for when you
- 14:18Speaker 2: don't have one, and then you kind of walk around,
- 14:20Speaker 2: and you're like, oh, yeah, I'm in the club.
- 14:21Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 14:22Speaker 2: That's kind of how I felt with the stroller. I'm like,
- 14:24Speaker 2: all right.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Oh, my gosh, Gabe, you're now part of the stroller community.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I know.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I am in the stroller community. But, you know, when
- 14:31Speaker 2: you had a kid, did you notice when you're out
- 14:33Speaker 2: in public things you looked at different that you had
- 14:35Speaker 2: never looked at before?
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:37Speaker 4: You know what I was always looking at was people's
- 14:40Speaker 4: diaper bags.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Oh, how much they had or didn't have?
- 14:43Speaker 4: Well, like the kind of diaper bag, the style. Like,
- 14:46Speaker 4: is that one going to be roomier? Is this more efficient?
- 14:49Speaker 4: Should I switch my diaper bag? But then it would
- 14:51Speaker 4: also be like, she has the wrong diaper bag. I'm
- 14:54Speaker 4: over here with the correct one. So, yeah, diaper bags
- 14:57Speaker 4: was where my head was.
- 14:58Speaker 2: It was just not one time in my life have
- 15:01Speaker 2: I cared, been interested, even looked at a stroller, ever.
- 15:05Speaker 2: And I honestly, for the kids that were with us
- 15:08Speaker 2: and for, you know, the Corey and her friends, it
- 15:11Speaker 2: was a nice time checking out the animals. I was
- 15:13Speaker 2: there checking out the industrial stroller revolution.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Bro, at no point did you even notice an animal.
- 15:20Speaker 4: I bet you couldn't tell me what was there.
- 15:21Speaker 2: At the zoo, could you?
- 15:22Speaker 1: Not a single one, yeah. This is Am I the Problem?
- 15:29Speaker 3: It's me.
- 15:33Speaker 1: We'll hear one side of the story and with your help.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Am I the problem? Decide if it's right or if
- 15:39Speaker 1: maybe you're the problem. I'm hardly the problem. On Big 98.7.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Robbie wrote in to us and he needs to know
- 15:48Speaker 4: if he's the problem.
- 15:49Speaker 5: Hey guys, I'm Robbie. Am I the problem or am
- 15:52Speaker 5: I right?
- 15:53Speaker 4: The long and short of it is that I broke
- 15:55Speaker 4: it off with the girl I was dating because she
- 15:58Speaker 4: had too many pets sleeping in.
- 16:01Speaker 5: The bed with us.
- 16:02Speaker 4: I want to be clear that I love animals even
- 16:04Speaker 4: though I don't have any pets. And I wasn't surprised
- 16:07Speaker 4: that she had three cats and two dogs. But we
- 16:10Speaker 4: always had to sleep at her place because of the
- 16:12Speaker 4: cats and dogs. And they all sleep in the bed
- 16:14Speaker 4: with her, which means they all slept in the bed
- 16:16Speaker 4: with us.
- 16:18Speaker 5: I tried for a while, but I can't.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Sleep like that. And it just grosses me out, kind of.
- 16:23Speaker 4: I asked if when I'm over, can they just sleep
- 16:26Speaker 4: near the bed? She got defensive and said, I just
- 16:30Speaker 4: need to get used to it. So I ended it.
- 16:32Speaker 5: My sister and her friend said I was in the wrong.
- 16:34Speaker 5: What do you think?
- 16:36Speaker 4: I would like to say first, I do get grossed
- 16:40Speaker 4: out by too many animals like around and on top
- 16:43Speaker 4: of me. And I would absolutely loathe to sleep in
- 16:47Speaker 4: the bed with a bunch of pets.
- 16:48Speaker 5: I'm with you there, Robbie.
- 16:50Speaker 4: However, the things we do for love, Robbie, if you
- 16:54Speaker 4: really like her, then yes, you do got to get
- 16:57Speaker 4: used to it.
- 16:58Speaker 5: It is not a deal breaker.
- 16:59Speaker 4: And it is crazy for me to say that because
- 17:02Speaker 4: I really get icked out really easily.
- 17:04Speaker 5: I'm such a germaphobe, like it's a whole thing.
- 17:06Speaker 4: But if Mikey had some dogs and he was like,
- 17:10Speaker 4: they're sleeping with us in the bed and that's just
- 17:13Speaker 4: life now, I'd be like, well, I guess I'm.
- 17:15Speaker 5: Super in love with you and we doing this.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Come here, Fido.
- 17:19Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Like, I would just deal
- 17:21Speaker 5: with it. What do you think?
- 17:23Speaker 2: Well, you're you're allowed to not love sleeping with animals.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And if the sleeping with animals bothers you too much,
- 17:30Speaker 2: you had a free easy out. It sounds like I'm
- 17:33Speaker 2: with you, though. One thousand percent. He just didn't like
- 17:35Speaker 2: her that much. Just didn't like her that much.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Okay, that's kind of what it seems like, huh?
- 17:39Speaker 2: 100%. On the grand scheme of relationships, there are actual
- 17:43Speaker 2: super hardcore deal breakers that, you know, for example, you
- 17:47Speaker 2: really want to have kids one day, the other person doesn't.
- 17:49Speaker 2: That probably would be a reason to call it off.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Someone's pets being around is pretty low on the list
- 17:56Speaker 2: of deal breakers. You just didn't like her as much
- 17:59Speaker 2: as you maybe hoped or as you thought.
- 18:01Speaker 5: Is that what, okay, is that what it is then?
- 18:04Speaker 2: It's not that it's a deal breaker. My wife has
- 18:05Speaker 2: a billion cats, okay?
- 18:07Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, and you don't like cats like that.
- 18:08Speaker 2: I'm not like a cat person. I guess I like
- 18:11Speaker 2: my cats now.
- 18:12Speaker 5: Right.
- 18:13Speaker 2: But I like my cats that they make my wife happy.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I don't, you know, I would never have gone out
- 18:17Speaker 2: and gotten that many.
- 18:18Speaker 5: I love that. You know what I mean?
- 18:20Speaker 4: What do you think?
- 18:21Speaker 2: 701-280-1987.
- 18:25Speaker 5: Call us, text us.
- 18:26Speaker 4: We also have this up on our Facebook page.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Is Robbie the problem? Is it a deal.
- 18:32Speaker 4: Breaker to have too many pets in the bed? Or
- 18:35Speaker 4: is he a wrong, wrong, wrong man? Robbie broke it
- 18:44Speaker 4: off with a girl because she had too many pets
- 18:47Speaker 4: that she wanted to have sleep with them in the bed.
- 18:51Speaker 4: And when she said, you're just going to have to
- 18:52Speaker 4: get used to it, he said, no.
- 18:55Speaker 5: And then he broke it off with her.
- 18:58Speaker 4: But his sister and her friends are saying, bro, you
- 19:00Speaker 4: are in the wrong on this one. So he wanted
- 19:02Speaker 4: to know, is it actually a deal breaker or did.
- 19:04Speaker 5: He make a mistake?
- 19:06Speaker 4: I think he did make a mistake. I think, bro,
- 19:09Speaker 4: you just have to deal with it. If you like her,
- 19:13Speaker 4: deal with it. Gabe, your thoughts are?
- 19:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it was kind of the same.
- 19:17Speaker 3: If.
- 19:17Speaker 2: There are certain things you kind of are willing to
- 19:20Speaker 2: put up with or learn to live with if you
- 19:22Speaker 2: really like someone enough. And this sounded like kind of
- 19:25Speaker 2: a free out for both of them. And the reason
- 19:28Speaker 2: I say that is because Jewel said swap the advice.
- 19:32Speaker 2: If she loved him enough, where is her compromise? He
- 19:36Speaker 2: isn't telling her to get rid of her animals, just
- 19:38Speaker 2: not in bed when he is sleeping over. And this
- 19:41Speaker 2: is from someone with nine dogs. Holy moly. And you
- 19:46Speaker 2: know what? That, I think, goes perfectly fair with, uh...
- 19:49Speaker 2: the advice the other way she probably just didn't like
- 19:52Speaker 2: him that much granted if you have pets that sleep
- 19:55Speaker 2: with you all the time yeah to try to go
- 19:57Speaker 2: from that to them not sleeping with you I would
- 20:02Speaker 2: imagine kind of a pain and sad for them to
- 20:05Speaker 2: get used to.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the fact that she didn't be like, okay, well,
- 20:08Speaker 4: let me just try to wean them off. Like, let's
- 20:11Speaker 4: try to whatever. And then the fact that he was like, okay,
- 20:13Speaker 4: then never mind, bye. I think the root of this is...
- 20:16Speaker 4: Y'all both just weren't that into each other, and that's okay.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Move on to the next, Robbie. And girl that got
- 20:24Speaker 4: broken up with, you move on to.
- 20:26Speaker 2: The next, too. 1,000%. Jessica said, not the problem. I
- 20:30Speaker 2: love pets, too. In fact, I have two dogs. When
- 20:32Speaker 2: I met my now husband, they slept in my room.
- 20:34Speaker 2: He wasn't a fan. I quickly scooted them out of
- 20:37Speaker 2: my bedroom. As you said, the things we do for love,
- 20:39Speaker 2: she can compromise, too, but she drew the line in
- 20:42Speaker 2: the sand first, which... I think that's also very fair
- 20:46Speaker 2: of her to do. If she goes, nah, these are
- 20:49Speaker 2: my animals, my fur babies. They are bed sleepers. I
- 20:53Speaker 2: want someone who is going to either learn to love
- 20:55Speaker 2: it or already is fine with it sleeping in. If
- 20:57Speaker 2: she wants to draw the line right there, I think
- 20:59Speaker 2: that's totally fair.
- 21:01Speaker 4: I think, I.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Wonder if Robbie's like, oh, she doesn't really like me
- 21:04Speaker 5: that much.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Okay, fine. No, it's over.
- 21:06Speaker 5: I'm saying it's over.
- 21:07Speaker 2: They're just fighting over who called it off first.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:10Speaker 2: And then finally, we have Sarah. I don't think it's
- 21:13Speaker 2: wrong exactly. I think if you really liked her, you
- 21:16Speaker 2: guys could have had a more in-depth conversation. I understand
- 21:19Speaker 2: you expressed some feelings, but it sounds like you each
- 21:22Speaker 2: had more input that wasn't brought up. I feel like
- 21:25Speaker 2: that happens all the time with Am I the Problem?
- 21:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 2: More communication is key we just never get to the
- 21:31Speaker 2: real root or we try to get to the root
- 21:34Speaker 2: of this of an issue or a problem with the
- 21:37Speaker 2: limited amount of information that we had that's how it
- 21:39Speaker 2: goes i would love to be a fly on the
- 21:41Speaker 2: wall in the room though and our boy was like
- 21:44Speaker 2: hey yeah fido he gotta kick it to the floor
- 21:46Speaker 2: because if it was my house that'd be an absolutely.
- 21:49Speaker 4: No Big 98.7.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Now, Dolly Parton, loved by what seems like everybody.
- 21:56Speaker 5: And Tim Curry, too.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Tim Curry, loved by what seems like everybody. And it
- 22:02Speaker 2: seems there's not a ton of universally... Loved celebrities, you know, like,
- 22:09Speaker 2: for example, Taylor Swift is one of the most famous
- 22:13Speaker 2: women on planet Earth. Just people in general.
- 22:15Speaker 5: But she's polarizing. People either love her, love her, or
- 22:19Speaker 5: they hate her, hate her.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Right.
- 22:21Speaker 2: And that's kind of how it seems to work with
- 22:24Speaker 2: a lot of celebrities. So what celebrity could you think
- 22:27Speaker 2: of that's universally loved? And I came up with a few,
- 22:30Speaker 2: and I want you to see what you think of, like,
- 22:32Speaker 2: my list here. Okay. Mr.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Rogers.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Obviously, yes.
- 22:36Speaker 5: Universally loved.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Universally loved. It seems like by everybody. Keanu Reeves.
- 22:42Speaker 5: Oh, yes.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Do most people love him?
- 22:45Speaker 5: Yes, and put him on the Hall Pass list. Yes,
- 22:48Speaker 5: Keanu Reeves. He's, I mean, a sweetheart. No one ever
- 22:52Speaker 5: has a negative thing to say about. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Keanu Reeves, and I guess unless you really hated The Matrix.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Nah, even that, because I didn't really care for The Matrix,
- 23:02Speaker 4: but my love for Keanu lives on.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, what about Robin Williams?
- 23:07Speaker 5: Yep, yep.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Loved. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about him.
- 23:11Speaker 5: No, me either.
- 23:13Speaker 2: In, like, talking amongst my friends, like, oh, I didn't
- 23:16Speaker 2: like this, or whatever. Or I've never heard any celebrity
- 23:18Speaker 2: interview saying Robin Williams, where he was a bad guy.
- 23:21Speaker 5: Yeah, no, everybody, like, loved Robin Williams.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I have one more for you.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:27Speaker 2: What about Betty White? What?
- 23:29Speaker 5: Oh, no, universally loved.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Universally loved?
- 23:31Speaker 5: In fact, if you are a Betty White hater, that's
- 23:33Speaker 5: a you problem.
- 23:34Speaker 2: You're a problem. I like that. That's a you problem.
- 23:37Speaker 5: You know who I'm surprised wasn't on your list? I
- 23:39Speaker 5: think Bob Ross. The painter?
- 23:41Speaker 2: Oh, that's a good one, yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 5: A happy little accident. I love Bob Ross.
- 23:45Speaker 2: A popular Halloween costume every year. There's always like one
- 23:49Speaker 2: or two walking around. But 701-280-1987. Well, who's a celebrity
- 23:54Speaker 2: you can think of that's just universally loved? Can you
- 23:56Speaker 2: think of any more, Angie?
- 23:58Speaker 5: Here's the twofer, and they're alive.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Bindi and Robert Irwin, like the kids of Steve Irwin.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:06Speaker 5: I mean, no one dislikes them.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I totally agree with that.
- 24:11Speaker 5: They're sweethearts.
- 24:12Speaker 4: They love animals. Their dad was a he was universally loved, honestly.
- 24:16Speaker 4: And it extended to his offspring like.
- 24:19Speaker 5: Love, love, love.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:20Speaker 2: And maybe, you know, I don't know enough about the
- 24:22Speaker 2: celeb world, but I think this is harder to do
- 24:24Speaker 2: than you might think.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Because I think there were maybe in the 90s, there
- 24:29Speaker 4: were people that were universally loved. But then as time
- 24:31Speaker 4: has gone on, they're not anymore because everybody loved Oprah
- 24:35Speaker 4: for a long time.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 24:37Speaker 2: And now everyone loved Ellen for a long time.
- 24:40Speaker 5: And boy, did those tables turn. So, yeah, it's harder now.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Let us know if you have any in the
- 24:46Speaker 2: back of your mind at 701-280-1987. Obviously, without question, Dolly Parton, though,
- 24:49Speaker 2: one of the most loved humans ever.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Happy.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Big 98.7 celebrities that are just universally loved and i
- 25:02Speaker 3: think it's harder to come up with them than you
- 25:04Speaker 3: may think because at one point you they might have
- 25:07Speaker 3: been universally loved uh angie used and then we turned
- 25:10Speaker 3: on them yeah angie used oprah as an example or
- 25:12Speaker 3: ellen at one point you know everybody loved them.
- 25:15Speaker 5: And Tom Cruise.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Tom Cruise. Same thing.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:18Speaker 2: You know, and then Ryan Reynolds, even Ryan Reynolds. Yeah.
- 25:22Speaker 2: And there's a ton of celebrities who are obviously famous
- 25:25Speaker 2: and they have a gajillion fans.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 2: They also have a gajillion haters, you know, and we
- 25:30Speaker 2: did get this text from Janelle. I had thought about
- 25:33Speaker 2: putting this on my list and I just I don't
- 25:34Speaker 2: know if I blanked or forgot. But Janelle said, Brendan Frazier.
- 25:39Speaker 5: Yes.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Which is so true. Is it because it feels like
- 25:44Speaker 2: he got such a raw deal in Hollywood?
- 25:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so. And he was just a genuinely
- 25:49Speaker 5: sweet man.
- 25:51Speaker 2: It seemed really unfair that he kind of got shunned
- 25:53Speaker 2: from Hollywood for a while.
- 25:55Speaker 4: No one ever has like on set horror stories of
- 25:58Speaker 4: working with Brendan Fraser. Everyone's like, no, he was the
- 26:01Speaker 4: best and amazing.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:03Speaker 2: And it's good to see it kind of turn back
- 26:04Speaker 2: around for him.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:05Speaker 2: And then we did have Kayla who said, Tom Hanks.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Also seems to be very true. I don't know what
- 26:11Speaker 2: he's like in his personal life, but I've never seen
- 26:13Speaker 2: or read or really heard anything bad about him.
- 26:16Speaker 4: No one sees Tom Hanks and thinks, what a jerk.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 26:29Speaker 1: Good News on Big 98.7.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Right in the middle of a Moorhead construction zone, there's
- 26:36Speaker 2: a front yard bursting with Cosmos, Black-Eyed Susans, Snapdragons, which
- 26:43Speaker 2: actually almost sound like they could be the names of
- 26:44Speaker 2: IPA beverages.
- 26:46Speaker 5: I was going to say, what are we talking about here,
- 26:48Speaker 5: my guy?
- 26:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's called The Flower House, and anyone can wander through,
- 26:52Speaker 2: smell the flowers, even clip a bouquet to take home.
- 26:55Speaker 2: And it exists thanks to a $ 1, 000 grant from the
- 26:58Speaker 2: Cass Clay Awesome Foundation, which is celebrating 10 years of
- 27:03Speaker 2: giving away money for ideas that simply make our community
- 27:07Speaker 2: more fun. 10 people chip in $ 100 a month, then
- 27:11Speaker 2: hand it to someone with a great idea, no strings attached.
- 27:15Speaker 2: And in a decade, they've given away $ 145, 000 to everything
- 27:19Speaker 2: from lemonade stands to community cafes. And founder Brandi Markley,
- 27:25Speaker 2: she says it's basically... Cheap therapy, and it is proof
- 27:29Speaker 2: that there are a lot of good people still out there.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I think this idea is awesome.
- 27:33Speaker 4: I love this. So these are all flowers. My son, Liam,
- 27:36Speaker 4: is obsessed with flowers.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:38Speaker 5: So we got to go check this out.
- 27:39Speaker 2: It is once again called the Flower House. Once again,
- 27:42Speaker 2: thanks to the awesome foundation. I think that's so fun. Hey,
- 27:47Speaker 2: someone has an idea. They want to do something. Not
- 27:49Speaker 2: sure if they can get the funds to get the
- 27:51Speaker 2: idea up and running. And these things all make our
- 27:54Speaker 2: community worth living in.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Yes.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Here's some money. Go do it.
- 27:57Speaker 4: I need to go do more independent research because I
- 28:00Speaker 4: love this.
- 28:00Speaker 2: That's right. The world is full of nice people. If
- 28:02Speaker 2: you can't find one, you got to be one. And
- 28:04Speaker 2: don't forget, broken crayons, they still color.
