- 0:00Speaker 1: The Driver's Show powered by in a midsoon Nano Taylor
- 0:03Speaker 1: to oil over a century of engineering excellence meets cutting
- 0:07Speaker 1: edge nanoscale technology.
- 0:09Speaker 2: They've given a couple of cars Japanese models, getting the
- 0:11Speaker 2: ass quickly google that that was bad terminology, that Paul Gordon, So.
- 0:28Speaker 3: There will be I'm sure a lovely person who works
- 0:34Speaker 3: for BYD and you know who you are, And what
- 0:40Speaker 3: I'll say right now is quietly put your headphones down
- 0:45Speaker 3: because I know you're listening to this at your computer.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Take yourself to the boardroom. Ask yourself why you gave
- 0:53Speaker 3: my smiling dickhead friend a pre production car?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Did someone else get one as well? What do you mean?
- 1:01Speaker 2: Oh you said smiling dickhead for a No, I don't know.
- 1:04Speaker 3: I was that you attempting to do a joke that
- 1:06Speaker 3: was doing good? Okay, carrying the show again. I see.
- 1:11Speaker 3: So you've caused a bit of a shit storm, which
- 1:17Speaker 3: you feel good about.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Yourself well telling the truth, being honest. I guess it
- 1:23Speaker 2: pays off, not as much as being an influencer, but
- 1:27Speaker 2: it does pay off eventually.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Oh oh, a little spiky wacky there. So we'll get
- 1:33Speaker 3: into that little backstory a little bit later on, including
- 1:37Speaker 3: a quick chat about the BYD Shark six, which Paul
- 1:39Speaker 3: put on YouTube it cannot go up a Hill and
- 1:42Speaker 3: various other things. I've test driven it myself. We might
- 1:46Speaker 3: have some slight conflicting thoughts, we might have some things
- 1:51Speaker 3: we agree on to, which would be nice. In the meantime,
- 1:54Speaker 3: after last episode where you said I was uncultural because
- 2:00Speaker 3: I didn't know what non can I just say, I
- 2:05Speaker 3: had to give a big shout.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Out to one of our listeners, okay, who slid into
- 2:10Speaker 2: my d MS and sent me through a restaurant recommendation
- 2:14Speaker 2: in Melbourne that serves.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Now, I reckon I know which one it was, because
- 2:19Speaker 3: I spoke to my waff about this and it turns
- 2:23Speaker 3: out I have had none of what's it called none?
- 2:26Speaker 2: I think is an old lady that Yeah, I've had
- 2:29Speaker 2: her many times more.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Mister was a fantastic She was the woman off the
- 2:35Speaker 3: pro Heart commercial with the carpet. It was very old fashioned.
- 2:38Speaker 3: She made the pizzas. Yeah, yeah, there you go. Remember
- 2:41Speaker 3: that dragonfly ad? Yeah, yeah, there you go. Yeah. You
- 2:44Speaker 3: would have been a little kid back then, a little
- 2:46Speaker 3: Croatian with fresh in the country cargo plane. Anyway, So
- 3:00Speaker 3: off the back of that. I brought you a little present.
- 3:02Speaker 3: What is it? Look? Look, this is this is my choice.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Then I'll show you how cultural I am.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Can I tear tear her open?
- 3:10Speaker 3: Tear tear a bag apart? As they say, hello, bit
- 3:15Speaker 3: of FANTASTICO. I bet you, I think they actually call
- 3:21Speaker 3: it not. This is a sparkling citrus. That's your spile name. Okay.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I thought this was an Italian cleaning product. G we
- 3:33Speaker 3: clean your toilet? That samata, that's ridiculously a little crack.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Apparently this is laden with sugar, and I do not
- 3:41Speaker 2: eat eat sugar.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Ship you off. Oh that's lovely.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Eight percent sugar.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Oh jesus, she's a she's a spicy girl. Bitie ye,
- 4:00Speaker 3: thank you for that.
- 4:00Speaker 2: We're a car podcast.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah. How's your holiday? Welcome back, Welcome to twenty twenty five.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yes, it was good, A lot of family stuff. I
- 4:10Speaker 2: was driving the Lexus GX. I was on holiday, which boys,
- 4:14Speaker 2: I do love that car. It is a sensational machine.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I was able to go bush for some camping.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Okay, camping, okay, I was able to thought that was
- 4:23Speaker 3: a dinner reference.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I was able to do a little off road drive
- 4:28Speaker 2: to a lake and there were lots of flies. So
- 4:31Speaker 2: I turned around and left, and yeah, it was horrendously inefficient.
- 4:36Speaker 2: It was using something like sixteen liters per hundred k's.
- 4:39Speaker 2: But you know, I'm okay with that.
- 4:41Speaker 3: It's kidded out. Well, yeah, it's a beautiful car, it
- 4:43Speaker 3: really is. It's got the it's got the fridge in
- 4:45Speaker 3: the middle thing, right, Yes, yeah, you had this last year.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Well not this, yeah, yeah, yeah, but.
- 4:52Speaker 2: This time I had it just over the Christmas break.
- 4:53Speaker 3: So well, I see your lexus and I raise you literally, yeah,
- 5:01Speaker 3: are you ready? A Chevy Silverado that's zeta.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Too bigy They are a good rig.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Holy heck. That was now. I made it, literally and
- 5:12Speaker 3: I had that. They were really good. Shout out to
- 5:14Speaker 3: Chevy because they were really kind to me. They gave
- 5:16Speaker 3: that to me for nearly two months. And I am
- 5:18Speaker 3: telling you right now, I was king of the fucking world.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I mean, I'm getting respect on the road that I deserve.
- 5:28Speaker 3: People move out of the way. In fact, it's an
- 5:31Speaker 3: event when I drive past. It's look at that car.
- 5:35Speaker 2: He must have a big penis. The girls were queuing
- 5:41Speaker 2: up to see how little it was. They theyre girometer
- 5:44Speaker 2: out they were like, holy yeah.
- 5:46Speaker 3: She was just like is that clitous?
- 5:50Speaker 4: Like, hey, you leave my little crayon alone.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Leave there's a little knock it alone. We'll touch your
- 5:57Speaker 3: little chinnoto. Yeah. Mate. It was just epic. It was
- 6:03Speaker 3: so good. I think I realized I truly love a
- 6:07Speaker 3: car when I'd just make myself a coffee in the
- 6:09Speaker 3: morning and I just walk out in my front door
- 6:13Speaker 3: and I'm looking at it in my driveway, just with
- 6:16Speaker 3: my open robe, watching the neighbors go past, and they're like,
- 6:21Speaker 3: god's nice morning, Stiffy my out.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Clint Eastwood, Yes, get off my lawn, And I'm like, like,
- 6:30Speaker 4: I'd look at the front, I'd be like, yes, that
- 6:32Speaker 4: car is gangster, is anything?
- 6:34Speaker 3: Then I look at the back. Yeah, big Chevy logo
- 6:37Speaker 3: in the back, so much room, The fucking set of
- 6:41Speaker 3: console was as big as my coffee table. It's you know,
- 6:44Speaker 3: it's weird because a big six point two liter V eight.
- 6:48Speaker 3: The two things I was worried about, which were fuel,
- 6:51Speaker 3: fuel consumption and parking. One, I'll say, the parking is
- 6:56Speaker 3: so bloody easy in this car. It's the easiest big
- 7:00Speaker 3: I've ever driven. In fact, this is easier to park
- 7:04Speaker 3: than most small cars like it's it's incredibly like I
- 7:08Speaker 3: did try. Having said that footnote little asterix, I did
- 7:11Speaker 3: try to park here at the studios here once with it,
- 7:16Speaker 3: and the height restriction I think is about two point
- 7:21Speaker 3: one in that particular car park, and it would have
- 7:25Speaker 3: like literally like I could feel the bar. It was
- 7:28Speaker 3: like probably ten mil off it right, but it wasn't
- 7:33Speaker 3: so much that it's the width of this thing. And
- 7:35Speaker 3: then I physically couldn't get it down there. I was like,
- 7:38Speaker 3: this is I can't do it. But so I did
- 7:41Speaker 3: have to go home and take an uber in but
- 7:44Speaker 3: that was only once. But yeah, look I did a
- 7:46Speaker 3: lot of I did a lot of kilometers in this
- 7:48Speaker 3: and it was just epic. It was so good. It was,
- 7:52Speaker 3: as I said, easy to park. Obviously. Maybe this is
- 7:55Speaker 3: made for a trading not for some little five foot
- 7:58Speaker 3: seven idiot who sits down and talk into a stick.
- 8:00Speaker 3: This is for you know. I just wish I fucking
- 8:04Speaker 3: wanted to move Regional because of this car. That's how
- 8:06Speaker 3: good it is. The I thought the fuel rock might
- 8:09Speaker 3: have a job going. Yeah it doesn't rock it Okay
- 8:13Speaker 3: rocks baby, he used to work it there. Yeah, so
- 8:16Speaker 3: it's I think the fuel consumption was pretty good. I'm
- 8:19Speaker 3: not quite sure.
- 8:20Speaker 2: The highway it's actually not that bad, not too bad.
- 8:23Speaker 3: I think it's a round about thirteen point eight right,
- 8:26Speaker 3: which fuck when you think about it, My super ru
- 8:28Speaker 3: was about twelve point eight. Ye, so I remember I
- 8:32Speaker 3: filled it up, say Sydney to Port mcquarie was. I
- 8:35Speaker 3: filled it up just before I left, and then half
- 8:39Speaker 3: a tank to get to Port McQuary, which is four
- 8:41Speaker 3: and a half hours round about four hundred and fifty
- 8:43Speaker 3: k's so that's not too bad. Half a tank, use
- 8:46Speaker 3: the other half to sort of cruise around Port McQuary.
- 8:50Speaker 3: No one'sine too much of a fuckinary in Burton McQuary,
- 8:53Speaker 3: that's for sure. And yeah, filled it up just before
- 8:57Speaker 3: I left. One hundred and sixty bucks. It's not bad.
- 9:01Speaker 2: What fuel this is the other thing people kind of
- 9:06Speaker 2: bitch and moan about how expensive fuel is over the
- 9:09Speaker 2: Christmas break it was cheap. It was like a dollar
- 9:11Speaker 2: sixty for regular unleaded. I just got a note that
- 9:15Speaker 2: my electricity was going up by twenty percent for fuck
- 9:20Speaker 2: knows what reason, no reason at all, no reason, and
- 9:23Speaker 2: I charge an EV at home.
- 9:24Speaker 3: So they were just saying because we can.
- 9:26Speaker 2: It's just like, yeah, cause so, yeah, I think that
- 9:29Speaker 2: really these things are very affordable to drive around if
- 9:31Speaker 2: you do want to, and if I go to the States,
- 9:34Speaker 2: I will always get a pickup truck because you just
- 9:37Speaker 2: blend in with the crowd. And like you said, they
- 9:40Speaker 2: are really not that impractical. Yes, if you're driving into
- 9:42Speaker 2: the city every day and needing to park, that's a
- 9:44Speaker 2: different story. But if you live in the burbs and
- 9:46Speaker 2: you're driving this on a weekend, it really is a
- 9:49Speaker 2: perfectly fine vehicle to home.
- 9:50Speaker 3: If you don't have to park in the city, and
- 9:52Speaker 3: parking in the city is a bitch for a small car,
- 9:54Speaker 3: let's be honest. But if you don't have to do
- 9:57Speaker 3: that and you're just a normal day to day this
- 9:59Speaker 3: is like I honestly would say, if you're looking at
- 10:03Speaker 3: a ute rethink something like this, because yeah, their size
- 10:06Speaker 3: is incredible. It's a great looking car. I mean, I
- 10:08Speaker 3: think it's roughly about one hundred and thirty thousand, not
- 10:12Speaker 3: too bad like the Raptors. What one hundred and ten.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Is one hundred about ninety ish?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Okay, way off, ye look, splash out the extra cash
- 10:20Speaker 3: because it's so good. It's such a great cars. Big
- 10:22Speaker 3: shout out to Chevy for that, because I bloody loved
- 10:25Speaker 3: every second of that one. So yeah, my holiday was good.
- 10:29Speaker 3: My holiday was good. You know, twenty twenty five, it's
- 10:34Speaker 3: the year of redundancies and especially doubt.
- 10:38Speaker 2: It's something you need to tell me.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Well, Mitsubishi have decided, don't worry about the employees. Let's
- 10:44Speaker 3: just like give a couple of models the ass. They're oh, sorry,
- 10:47Speaker 3: that was bad terminology?
- 10:50Speaker 2: You can do? You wonder if what?
- 10:52Speaker 3: Sorry? Yeah, I think that that's on. That's on Paul's
- 10:55Speaker 3: bloody uporn search in a couple of.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Cars Japanese models getting the ass, Just quickly google that.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Wait, I've got a good loop for that.
- 11:07Speaker 2: It means is the is it the nano tailored oil
- 11:14Speaker 2: zero W twenty or the five W thirty.
- 11:17Speaker 3: I'd definitely go the gold standard.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Let me let me bring it out.
- 11:21Speaker 3: What we're trying to say is, yeah, Mitsubishi have acted
- 11:25Speaker 3: quite a few models off the top of my head.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Let me explain why first. Okay, yeah, it's not just
- 11:30Speaker 2: like they go, well, you know.
- 11:31Speaker 3: They're not selling new and you me so, there's an.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Australian design rule called ninety eight double zero and it
- 11:38Speaker 2: comes into effect for all new models on sale from
- 11:41Speaker 2: March one to twenty twenty five, so that's just around
- 11:43Speaker 2: the corner. And it outlines specific performance requirements for AEB systems,
- 11:48Speaker 2: so that is the tech that stops the car if
- 11:50Speaker 2: you don't. So while Mitsubishi has AEB on these vehicles
- 11:54Speaker 2: that are getting canceled, they don't meet the requirements for
- 11:56Speaker 2: the new regulation. So basically the cars that are affected
- 11:59Speaker 2: it it's crazy. The current AX Eclipse Cross Eclipse Cross,
- 12:03Speaker 2: plug in hype and the Pagero Sport.
- 12:07Speaker 3: It's like you have acted, Oh, they are getting rid
- 12:10Speaker 3: of the Pagero Sport, but this is the thing.
- 12:12Speaker 2: It's temporary because there's a new Pagero Sport coming and
- 12:15Speaker 2: presumably they will retro fit some of these other models
- 12:18Speaker 2: with the technology. We've recently heard as well that they're
- 12:21Speaker 2: replacing the AX with a Reno.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I thought my understanding was Reno was taking
- 12:28Speaker 3: that that whole thing, weren't they.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's basically getting replaced with an AX that
- 12:35Speaker 2: in Europe is basically a rebadged Captor. So it's it
- 12:41Speaker 2: is a weird one that I just do not get
- 12:43Speaker 2: Mitsubishi at the moment.
- 12:45Speaker 3: It's just in all sorts new Triton. I haven't driven
- 12:49Speaker 3: that yet. I'll be driving that soon, but yeah, it
- 12:52Speaker 3: looks good, but it's It's one of those things with Mitsubishi.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I just wanted to love what they've put out the
- 13:00Speaker 3: last couple of years. We've owned some in the past
- 13:02Speaker 3: as a family, and I quite like the old school Trials,
- 13:05Speaker 3: even the Bajero, but it's just not what it used
- 13:07Speaker 3: to be. Yeah, so yeah, looks to watch this space
- 13:10Speaker 3: from Mitsubishi. Hey, I meant to ask you, what did
- 13:13Speaker 3: you think. Did you see the R thirty two, the
- 13:17Speaker 3: GTR they've I guess retro fitted if you liked, They've
- 13:21Speaker 3: pulled the guts out of it and put in a
- 13:24Speaker 3: whole bunch of EV motors and batteries and turned it
- 13:27Speaker 3: into an EV.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Well that went down like a lead balloon, because
- 13:33Speaker 2: that car deserves anything but an electric drive train. But anyway,
- 13:38Speaker 2: they stuck one in there. Anyway, So basically two electric
- 13:41Speaker 2: motors that output a total of three hundred and twenty
- 13:43Speaker 2: kilowats and seven hundred and eighty newton meters. Now it
- 13:46Speaker 2: sounds impressive, but you talked to a lot of people
- 13:50Speaker 2: that tune these these the RB twenty six. You can
- 13:54Speaker 2: get like a thousand horsepower out of some of these cars.
- 13:56Speaker 2: You can get incredible power and talk figures and they
- 13:59Speaker 2: seem to have got on with numbers that are okay,
- 14:01Speaker 2: but it's literally the same output you get out of
- 14:03Speaker 2: a BYD Shark. So it's like, okay, what is the
- 14:06Speaker 2: purpose of all this? And it's seventeen hundred kilos compared
- 14:10Speaker 2: to fourteen hundred for the non electric one.
- 14:12Speaker 3: There's a lot of great engineering that went into that car,
- 14:14Speaker 3: so it's iconic for a reason. And to kind of
- 14:17Speaker 3: do something like this, to spend money on something like this,
- 14:20Speaker 3: which I don't think that. I mean, that's a true
- 14:22Speaker 3: fanboy car.
- 14:24Speaker 2: This it is in dire straits at the moment.
- 14:26Speaker 3: But that's my argument. Right, So most of the general
- 14:29Speaker 3: public couldn't give a shit about this. But you're like,
- 14:32Speaker 3: you're looking at merging with who is it? Is it
- 14:34Speaker 3: Mazda or Honda Honda? Right, So if you're looking at
- 14:38Speaker 3: a merger, if you're in financial troubles and you're doing
- 14:40Speaker 3: stuff like this, come on, mate, I don't know. To me,
- 14:44Speaker 3: that was a bit like it just seems strange.
- 14:47Speaker 2: It's a no from me.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Yeah, big fat no. Tell you what else is it?
- 14:52Speaker 2: No?
- 14:52Speaker 3: Stealing Holden's with T toys. You did a video on this.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I want to take me through it.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Okay, So, Jenna of this is I know a lot
- 15:01Speaker 2: of people that have late model Holden so vf hsvs
- 15:05Speaker 2: and SS Comodols, and basically I kept hearing about how
- 15:11Speaker 2: a lot of these were getting stolen, and I thought
- 15:13Speaker 2: it was just a bit of a thieves taking stuff.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Then last year police busted a big syndicate that was
- 15:22Speaker 2: basically rebirthing a lot of these cars, and it all
- 15:26Speaker 2: started up again recently, as maybe six months ago. I
- 15:30Speaker 2: started doing some digging and discovered that thieves are using
- 15:35Speaker 2: a tool off Timu or eBay and two hundred bucks
- 15:38Speaker 2: worth that is able to basically reprogram keys on a car.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Now, can I pause you on this because remember when
- 15:45Speaker 3: we had our bows on the show, do we talk
- 15:46Speaker 3: about something.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Like this, Yes, But the difference here is that they've
- 15:50Speaker 2: teamed that device with I guess a security floor in
- 15:54Speaker 2: the Comodore or that series of Comodol, which is the
- 15:57Speaker 2: location of the horn cabling the thieves are able to do.
- 16:00Speaker 2: The horn cabling is located inside the wheel arch. They're
- 16:03Speaker 2: able to cut through the wheel arch protector and cut
- 16:06Speaker 2: the horn cable. So when they then jam a screwdriver
- 16:09Speaker 2: into your door handle, the alarm goes off, but all
- 16:12Speaker 2: it does is flash lights. It doesn't actually make a
- 16:14Speaker 2: sound because you've cut the horn cable. Now they're also
- 16:17Speaker 2: getting around with towels that they put over the lights,
- 16:20Speaker 2: so when they cut your horn cable, open your car,
- 16:24Speaker 2: you don't see any flashing at all. Then within a
- 16:26Speaker 2: matter of minutes they delete your keys, program a new
- 16:29Speaker 2: set and see you later. Now, a lot of these
- 16:31Speaker 2: cars are now getting stripped and dumped on the side
- 16:34Speaker 2: of the road, and it's a big problem now so far,
- 16:39Speaker 2: based on the research that I've done, you've got a
- 16:41Speaker 2: mixture of junkies taking the cars and enjoy riding, and
- 16:44Speaker 2: junkies taking the cars probably getting paid in drugs and
- 16:47Speaker 2: giving them to the new syndicate that's taken over from
- 16:50Speaker 2: the guy that's in jail at the moment. And during
- 16:54Speaker 2: the break, a guy reach out to me on Instagram
- 16:57Speaker 2: and he wanted to give me more information, so I
- 17:02Speaker 2: met up with him.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Did you did you meet up in a trench coat
- 17:05Speaker 3: and a hat?
- 17:06Speaker 2: No?
- 17:07Speaker 3: In a car park, but I've seen you do that
- 17:09Speaker 3: and that's on our website.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Met up with these guys and let's just say, they
- 17:14Speaker 2: have a huge amount of information on where these cars
- 17:18Speaker 2: are going, everything that's happening, where they were going, how
- 17:23Speaker 2: they're getting distributed, how they're rebirthing some of these cars
- 17:26Speaker 2: with loopholes through vic Rhodes.
- 17:28Speaker 3: So they met up with you and they're part of
- 17:30Speaker 3: they're part of this.
- 17:30Speaker 2: So I don't think they're part of it. Then they're
- 17:33Speaker 2: not part of it.
- 17:33Speaker 3: But take time to know one though. Right, Yeah, I'm
- 17:37Speaker 3: just you're so you don't get okay. So, by the way, everyone,
- 17:40Speaker 3: if there is no other episode after this poll's been
- 17:43Speaker 3: fucking I'm.
- 17:44Speaker 2: More worried about their safety because from the sounds of it,
- 17:46Speaker 2: there's a lot of people involved, and if people know
- 17:49Speaker 2: that others are talking that have knowledge, that their safety
- 17:52Speaker 2: could be at risk. Now, Gordy ask me, what did
- 17:55Speaker 2: I do with this information?
- 17:57Speaker 3: Hey, Pavlain, what did you do with this information? I'm
- 17:59Speaker 3: going to I guess you put it on a website
- 18:01Speaker 3: called carrencxt No.
- 18:02Speaker 2: I told the police that I have two guys that
- 18:04Speaker 2: are willing to tell you everything, but they want some protection.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Can you please get in touch.
- 18:10Speaker 3: And some money. No money with us, no reward with
- 18:13Speaker 3: a little taste of the honey for making some arrests.
- 18:16Speaker 3: So Gordy, ask me what happened? What happened?
- 18:19Speaker 2: So fourteen days ago this happened. Not one response from
- 18:23Speaker 2: them after acknowledging as the cops. Yep, they acknowledged it
- 18:27Speaker 2: and said they'd get in touch. No one responded. So
- 18:30Speaker 2: that kind of annoys me because it's the perception. After
- 18:34Speaker 2: we published our first video where we detailed all of this,
- 18:37Speaker 2: the perception from commenters is that the police aren't doing anything.
- 18:41Speaker 2: They're not taking it seriously.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Oh my god. And guess it actually seems like the
- 18:44Speaker 3: police aren't doing anything.
- 18:46Speaker 2: So look, I don't want to point any fingers, but
- 18:48Speaker 2: what I did get from the police after we published
- 18:50Speaker 2: our video is they basically chewed my ass out, and
- 18:54Speaker 2: not in the nice way, regarding a number that we
- 18:58Speaker 2: got wrong from a press release that they did. And
- 19:01Speaker 2: I'm like, gold on, So you have sent me this
- 19:03Speaker 2: long ass email bitching and moaning about a number that's wrong.
- 19:07Speaker 2: You won't acknowledge that people need assistance here They keep
- 19:11Speaker 2: referring to third parties and in fact I reached out
- 19:14Speaker 2: to Holden as well and I said, hey, guys, what's
- 19:16Speaker 2: going on, Like, you guys still sell cars in Australia
- 19:18Speaker 2: through Chevrolet and Cadillac and all this sort of stuff.
- 19:21Speaker 2: What are you actually doing about it? And they sent
- 19:23Speaker 2: me a really piss week response that was basically along
- 19:27Speaker 2: the lines of yes, we're awhere, this is happening, and
- 19:30Speaker 2: it's using third party tools that shouldn't be used that way.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It's like, okay, but can you fix it?
- 19:37Speaker 3: Well they're not the police, Paul.
- 19:39Speaker 2: No, but this is the thing you trade off.
- 19:41Speaker 3: You've got to realize that that was written by some
- 19:44Speaker 3: twenty three year old pr chick who's clinging on to
- 19:47Speaker 3: a job.
- 19:49Speaker 2: I think that comes from someone in the company that
- 19:52Speaker 2: is able to make a statement. So you've got these
- 19:56Speaker 2: this company that has written on the coattails of success
- 19:59Speaker 2: in Australia, take a lot of money from Australian customers,
- 20:02Speaker 2: taking money from the government and taxpayers. There is a
- 20:05Speaker 2: major security floor where people are getting like ten or
- 20:07Speaker 2: twenty of these stolen a day. It is huge in
- 20:10Speaker 2: terms of volume just out of Melbourne alone, and nothing's
- 20:13Speaker 2: getting done. And you put your you know your business
- 20:16Speaker 2: hat on and you go, well, they currently operate ac
- 20:19Speaker 2: Delco in Australia, which is the genuine parts and servicing
- 20:22Speaker 2: for Holden's. Would you not go, hey, We're going to
- 20:24Speaker 2: come up with a fix for this to make it
- 20:26Speaker 2: so the shitty security on this doesn't allow someone with
- 20:29Speaker 2: a tool off team to come and change your keys,
- 20:32Speaker 2: and if you come and service your car using genuine parts,
- 20:35Speaker 2: we'll do this free charge.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Yeah, well I would.
- 20:38Speaker 2: If there'll be a ten minute job to update firmware.
- 20:41Speaker 3: So I mean, could there be something could there be
- 20:46Speaker 3: something in that that like once they sort of open
- 20:48Speaker 3: that door, it could lead to like lawsuits.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Or look, I'm sure it could, but the perception at
- 20:53Speaker 2: the moment is they're not doing anything and it doesn't
- 20:54Speaker 2: look like that. I'm sure they're dealing with the police.
- 20:56Speaker 2: They would be dealing with the police at the moment.
- 20:58Speaker 2: But if the police pointing the finger at them, they're
- 21:02Speaker 2: pointing the finger at this thing off timu who's actually
- 21:06Speaker 2: fixing this? Like is it vigilante groups? Who's actually stopping
- 21:10Speaker 2: this from happening? So anyway, that video went crazy, you
- 21:12Speaker 2: got like half a million views. We're about to do
- 21:14Speaker 2: a follow up on this other thing that I found
- 21:17Speaker 2: which completely blew me away. So I walked out to
- 21:19Speaker 2: our car park and I had heard about cloned plates,
- 21:23Speaker 2: and I saw these two just junkies. One was a
- 21:27Speaker 2: slapper and the other one was just some methed out idiot.
- 21:30Speaker 3: What a slapper, hey, like a UK nineteen eighties londoner.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Come here, your bloody old slapper.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Anyway, So they're frantically walking around this vault so I
- 21:42Speaker 2: can golf in our car park, just like you know,
- 21:45Speaker 2: when they're just methed out of their heads. And I'm like,
- 21:48Speaker 2: what the fuck are they doing? And I looked at
- 21:50Speaker 2: the regio and I checked the REGI on the VIC
- 21:52Speaker 2: Rhodes website and it just showed that it was registered
- 21:54Speaker 2: and current, and I'm like, okay, a bit weird. And
- 21:57Speaker 2: thirty minutes later, my colleague came out and it was
- 21:59Speaker 2: at about six pm, and he saw them carrying computers
- 22:02Speaker 2: from this business they were parked next to into their car,
- 22:05Speaker 2: and I'm like, all right, they're clearly stealing that stuff.
- 22:07Speaker 2: He called the police. So what happened was he took
- 22:11Speaker 2: some photos of the car before they came out with
- 22:12Speaker 2: the computers, and what they've done is every car has
- 22:16Speaker 2: a vin on display on the windscreen, and newer cars
- 22:19Speaker 2: they had put papers there to make it look like
- 22:21Speaker 2: they just put receipts there so you couldn't see the VN.
- 22:24Speaker 2: The reason they'd done that is because they cloned the plates.
- 22:27Speaker 2: What they did was they looked for another gray, oh sorry,
- 22:30Speaker 2: another brown Volkswagen Golf somewhere and looked at the driver.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Driver was a normal looking person, see like, okay, that
- 22:36Speaker 2: person's going to renew their regio. So what they do
- 22:39Speaker 2: is they then go and recreate a set of plates
- 22:41Speaker 2: that is the same as theirs. Then what they're able
- 22:44Speaker 2: to do is drive around with the same plates as
- 22:46Speaker 2: this other honest person who has a brown Volkswagen Golf
- 22:49Speaker 2: in their stolen brown Volkswagen Golf. If the police were
- 22:53Speaker 2: to search the VN, it would come up as stolen,
- 22:55Speaker 2: But if they searched the plate, it just comes up
- 22:57Speaker 2: as being registered to an owner. So as long as
- 23:00Speaker 2: they're not speeding or getting attention to themselves, if you
- 23:02Speaker 2: drive past a police car with these plates, they're unlikely
- 23:06Speaker 2: to notice anything. And these plates were so bad, like
- 23:10Speaker 2: the letters were out, it was just tape, basically white tape.
- 23:14Speaker 2: On a black registration plate. Now, since then another person
- 23:19Speaker 2: got in contact, it's like a huge rabbit hole of
- 23:22Speaker 2: just dodgy stuff. Here another person got in contact with
- 23:24Speaker 2: another method they're now using because the plates on this
- 23:27Speaker 2: golf weren't reflective. So now someone's found a way of
- 23:30Speaker 2: laser cutting reflective white tape that goes on a black
- 23:35Speaker 2: galvanized steel plate that's then used as regi that reflects
- 23:39Speaker 2: like it would if you drove through a set of
- 23:41Speaker 2: lights or something. So it's incredible, and I just think
- 23:45Speaker 2: that the police perhaps don't understand the scale of these
- 23:49Speaker 2: thefts and the scale of how much money is being made.
- 23:53Speaker 2: When they're selling secondhand ls engines, a break kit for
- 23:58Speaker 2: a GTS they've stripped out. They're distributing this stuff through wreckers,
- 24:03Speaker 2: and it's impossible to know if you go and buy
- 24:05Speaker 2: off the shelf a seat, it's impossible to know what
- 24:08Speaker 2: car that belonged to prior to it being on that shelf.
- 24:10Speaker 2: There's no trace ability. So the fact that they're dumping
- 24:13Speaker 2: shells everywhere at the moment around Melbourne tells you that's
- 24:15Speaker 2: what's happening. So Yow, I'm worried about you.
- 24:19Speaker 3: You're getting into some weird crime syndicate and you're getting
- 24:23Speaker 3: too far deep here on me.
- 24:24Speaker 2: You're interested at all in like any used Holden parts.
- 24:29Speaker 3: I'm barely interested in what you've got to say. I
- 24:35Speaker 3: think you need to have a good look at yourself.
- 24:38Speaker 3: And I think you've been listening to a lot of
- 24:40Speaker 3: true crime podcasts lately, and frankly, you'll probably end up dead.
- 24:48Speaker 2: I do hope.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Hey, do you reckon? I had this wild idea and
- 24:52Speaker 3: I was twenty beers deep and we were discussing this
- 24:55Speaker 3: amongst other drunken friends. Do you reckon like HSV could
- 25:02Speaker 3: somehow come back together?
- 25:04Speaker 2: Right?
- 25:04Speaker 3: Holden could like essentially make cars. But here's the deal
- 25:07Speaker 3: you make. I saw like I saw like probably I
- 25:10Speaker 3: think it was like a twenty seventeen Alugu and HSV.
- 25:13Speaker 3: It looks it still looks fucking good. Like it looks
- 25:16Speaker 3: really good. Right. Imagine if they did every four years,
- 25:21Speaker 3: and I know it would be expensive, a limited run,
- 25:24Speaker 3: say two hundred and fifty hsvs. Yep, you manufacture them
- 25:28Speaker 3: in Australia, you know they would be It's expensive. I
- 25:31Speaker 3: get that, but I reckon they would bloody sell. You
- 25:34Speaker 3: know what I mean that you did them every four
- 25:36Speaker 3: to five years, make them properly, special edition, kit them out,
- 25:40Speaker 3: put everything the fans want in there. They would sell
- 25:43Speaker 3: I reckon. Yeah.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Problem is, and this is part of the reason there's
- 25:48Speaker 2: such a big market for these stolen cars is a
- 25:51Speaker 2: lot of the industries that supported local manufacturing, like the
- 25:54Speaker 2: guys that made buttons, the guys that made a handbrake,
- 25:58Speaker 2: leave of the guys that made panels, they've gone out
- 26:01Speaker 2: of business or they've gone to do something else. So
- 26:05Speaker 2: if you wanted to do that, you wouldn't be able
- 26:07Speaker 2: to stamp all the crap that you need to stamp
- 26:09Speaker 2: because you had specialized people. You outsourced that too previously.
- 26:13Speaker 2: So while it's a good idea, it would be very
- 26:15Speaker 2: hard to achieve because there would be so many intricate
- 26:17Speaker 2: things that you just can't get access to anymore.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Hmm okay, well thanks for crapping on that idea. That's good. Anyway,
- 26:23Speaker 3: what's wrong?
- 26:24Speaker 2: Someone is calling?
- 26:25Speaker 3: Who's calling? Uh? Why are you?
- 26:29Speaker 2: She?
- 26:29Speaker 3: Bish? Who is that?
- 26:31Speaker 2: It's the great Donna is a Donna?
- 26:34Speaker 3: Pick it up? We want to hear Hello, how are
- 26:41Speaker 3: you darlin?
- 26:43Speaker 2: So we're just in the middle of recording something right now.
- 26:47Speaker 3: I'm here from a.
- 26:48Speaker 5: New segment on the Poe from our time.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Fucking why what's your new segment? Does Gordy know about this?
- 26:57Speaker 3: That fucking young home actual type?
- 27:01Speaker 5: Yeah, he organized it, He organized It's It's It's me
- 27:07Speaker 5: news segment for uh, for Donna's stubby holders and air freshness.
- 27:16Speaker 5: If you need something to hold your stubby, oh reader,
- 27:21Speaker 5: air freshener that gives you a shabby cold Donna Cold Donna.
- 27:28Speaker 5: My news segment is pulled Donna's word of the day.
- 27:34Speaker 6: Are you ready for Donna's word of the day. Yeah,
- 27:38Speaker 6: Today Donna's word of the day, Darland is fascinate, fascinating
- 27:45Speaker 6: in fascinate as.
- 27:47Speaker 5: In I think I've put on a couple of kilos
- 27:50Speaker 5: over Christmas. I've had nine buttons, But now I can
- 27:55Speaker 5: only fascinate.
- 27:57Speaker 7: Anners, the Donners, Jabby holders and bloody miss Yet.
- 28:10Speaker 2: All right, buy now?
- 28:11Speaker 3: Kiss XO XO. Gordy.
- 28:21Speaker 2: You've worked with Imitsu before at their launch event, right.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I have. I've got to say I was really impressed.
- 28:26Speaker 3: These guys have been leaders in oil innovation for over
- 28:30Speaker 3: a century. I mean, they're the ones trusted by Toyota
- 28:33Speaker 3: and Mazda to deliver precision enginet oils straight from the factory,
- 28:38Speaker 3: and now they're bringing this same expertise directly to OSSIE owners. Like,
- 28:42Speaker 3: this is exciting times. So what what stood out to
- 28:46Speaker 3: you the most? Okay, so they've got this nano tailored
- 28:49Speaker 3: oil and this stuff is next level. I mean, they
- 28:52Speaker 3: don't just make the kind of who high everyday products.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Every formula is designed with a purpose. So we've got
- 28:58Speaker 3: the if G three. This is perfect for city driving.
- 29:01Speaker 3: This is where you're in that sort of stop start traffic,
- 29:04Speaker 3: the stuff that really puts the stress on your engine.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Then you've got the IFG seven. Now this is a
- 29:11Speaker 3: beast for high performance vehicles. Seven layers of protection on
- 29:15Speaker 3: this one, and it's got their nano cleansing tech that
- 29:18Speaker 3: stops oil breakdowns even in the harshest of conditions. And
- 29:22Speaker 3: if you're driving a Japanese car, the IFG five is
- 29:26Speaker 3: built for precision engineered engines, offering five layers of protection
- 29:31Speaker 3: to keep your engine clean and running smoothly. Gee, that
- 29:34Speaker 3: sounds like some serious attention to detail. That's what I'm
- 29:37Speaker 3: all about. I'm all about the detailed pavelo. You know
- 29:40Speaker 3: this about me. The IFG seven isn't just oil. It's
- 29:43Speaker 3: like giving your engine a custom built suit of armor.
- 29:46Speaker 3: And it doesn't just protect your engine too, it optimizes performance.
- 29:49Speaker 3: So if you're into keeping your car at its absolute best,
- 29:53Speaker 3: this is the oil that you want. And now it's
- 29:55Speaker 3: easy to get as well. Right, Yeah, it's really easy.
- 29:57Speaker 3: It's all online. Just search out it omits to Australia.
- 30:00Speaker 3: That's id E m it Su Australia, or you can
- 30:06Speaker 3: write this one down au dot Iamitsu slash Nano, slash Tailored,
- 30:11Speaker 3: slashoil dot com and they will ship this straight to
- 30:15Speaker 3: your door, no fuss, just top tier oil delivered wherever
- 30:20Speaker 3: you are.
- 30:21Speaker 2: If it's good enough for manufacturers like Toyota and Masda,
- 30:24Speaker 2: then it sounds good enough for me.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Gordon, thank you. That's exactly right, pavlo Hey. With eat
- 30:28Speaker 3: a MIDSU, you're getting oil that's designed to handle whatever
- 30:32Speaker 3: you throw at it. They've been trusted by the best
- 30:35Speaker 3: part for over one hundred years for a reason. It
- 30:38Speaker 3: Amitsu taking you beyond engine protection to real driving excitement.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Couldn't have said it better myself. That was great.
- 30:45Speaker 2: I'm always carrying this show.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Twenty twenty five byd Shark six prices start from fifty
- 30:50Speaker 1: seven six hundred dollars.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Details head to Evingdirect dot com dot au. Should we
- 30:56Speaker 3: do a quick little car review? Yeah, go on, what
- 30:59Speaker 3: have we got? Let's do the by D sharks loss.
- 31:02Speaker 2: You know what I'm thinking, Let's chat about it now.
- 31:04Speaker 2: But this deserves the own episode, and I think that
- 31:07Speaker 2: we can. We can also integrate the other plug in
- 31:09Speaker 2: hybrid UITs that are coming, because there's there's a lot
- 31:11Speaker 2: of interest in this stuff. So yeah, tune into the
- 31:13Speaker 2: next one for that. But yes, let's chat about the.
- 31:16Speaker 3: The BYD Shark six great white Chomp chomp, okay by
- 31:22Speaker 3: D Shark six. A lot of interest in this car,
- 31:25Speaker 3: including myself. I've got to be honest, I was really
- 31:28Speaker 3: really excited about this one. I'm in the market for
- 31:30Speaker 3: a car and this was on the considerations list, stupidly
- 31:34Speaker 3: only because I hadn't driven it yet, but I was
- 31:36Speaker 3: really excited about it. I think the thing that did
- 31:38Speaker 3: excite me initially was I quite like BYD products. I'm
- 31:43Speaker 3: a big fan of the Seal and I like the
- 31:46Speaker 3: oh what's the suv? The c C line, Yeah, the
- 31:50Speaker 3: Sea Line six, Sea Line six, Yeah, sure, I think
- 31:54Speaker 3: they're great cars. So then there was this and I
- 31:57Speaker 3: was lucky enough to get it, not for a long time,
- 32:00Speaker 3: A good time, but not a long time. I would
- 32:05Speaker 3: like to have given it a bit more time to
- 32:07Speaker 3: kind of test its off road capabilities, which you certainly did,
- 32:13Speaker 3: and that's caused a bit of a shit storm. We
- 32:17Speaker 3: will should we explain why now?
- 32:21Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll explain briefly now, but we'll go into more
- 32:23Speaker 2: detail in the other episode. So yes, we reviewed it,
- 32:27Speaker 2: and I'll go into more detail about how the review
- 32:30Speaker 2: came about and just some of the hairs that were
- 32:33Speaker 2: on it. But basically the gist of it was, I
- 32:35Speaker 2: really like the car, great value for money, lots of tech,
- 32:38Speaker 2: beautiful to drive, not great off road based on the
- 32:41Speaker 2: experience I had, and not amazing for towing at edge cases.
- 32:47Speaker 2: So I think there's some improvements to be had there. Thankfully,
- 32:51Speaker 2: if towing an off road is something that you're going
- 32:53Speaker 2: to do a lot of there are alternatives coming that
- 32:56Speaker 2: are going to be significantly better than this, So.
- 32:58Speaker 3: We should stamp this with You did drive a pre
- 33:01Speaker 3: production car now, sorry, yep, I have been told software
- 33:06Speaker 3: updates have been done. Apparently there was like six I
- 33:10Speaker 3: think there was like a bit of a rebuttal video
- 33:12Speaker 3: to what you put out there was there?
- 33:15Speaker 2: Well I think so, but it was a bit of
- 33:17Speaker 2: a weird one.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Okay, well we'll talk about that at great length in
- 33:19Speaker 3: the next episode. But yes, so listen the BYD Shark
- 33:23Speaker 3: six around about sixty thousand dollars. It's a big bugger too,
- 33:26Speaker 3: like it's it's yeah, it's.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Five and a half meters I think, bigger than the
- 33:30Speaker 2: Ranger and stuff. So they have quite a presence, Yeah,
- 33:34Speaker 2: quite a presence.
- 33:35Speaker 3: What do you make of the exterior because I looked
- 33:36Speaker 3: at this next like the exterior, yeah, next to the
- 33:40Speaker 3: Kia Tasmin, which I did not like at all. I
- 33:43Speaker 3: thought with the launch, like just as I guess a
- 33:47Speaker 3: spectator looking in, I remember at the time thinking BYD
- 33:51Speaker 3: knocked it out of the park with the launch. I
- 33:52Speaker 3: think they launched a broken hill. They had a whole
- 33:54Speaker 3: bunch of journals and I guess influencers there and they
- 33:59Speaker 3: got so I think it's quite a smart move to
- 34:01Speaker 3: kind of put these people in the back of butt
- 34:04Speaker 3: fuck nowhere to put this car on. I guess it's Australian, Yeah,
- 34:09Speaker 3: Australian turf and turf they want it to be on
- 34:11Speaker 3: you know what I mean. So I think in the design,
- 34:16Speaker 3: I think BYD definitely beat out Keia in that department.
- 34:20Speaker 3: I got to say, I like it. I really do
- 34:22Speaker 3: like it. I think it's got its place, sixty thousand
- 34:25Speaker 3: dollars full of tech. It's i'd call this, on the
- 34:29Speaker 3: scheme of things, a mid priced car, Like it's not
- 34:31Speaker 3: your sort of really affordable forty thousand dollars sort of
- 34:35Speaker 3: suv end, but it's a it's a it's a chunk
- 34:39Speaker 3: of cash for some people, and you know, you'd hope
- 34:42Speaker 3: it to be good. The weird thing is I came
- 34:45Speaker 3: off the back of two months driving a bloody Chevy Silverado,
- 34:50Speaker 3: So the biggest shock for me was jumping in his car.
- 34:54Speaker 3: And one, it's very luxurious inside, but more so it's
- 34:58Speaker 3: like you're expecting it to be like you think it's
- 35:01Speaker 3: going to be big marillion rough, but it's very luxurious
- 35:04Speaker 3: inside and it makes no sound at all, and it's
- 35:08Speaker 3: smooth and sensual.
- 35:10Speaker 2: And you know what this car is like and it
- 35:13Speaker 2: admits U lubricant.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Yeah, nearly nearly as smooth yep, this car, it's like
- 35:21Speaker 3: you were prepared to rough it at a hostel really
- 35:25Speaker 3: rough it. But somehow you've woken up in a beautiful
- 35:31Speaker 3: hotel bed and there's silk sheets and there's two foreign
- 35:36Speaker 3: lady boys rubbing vasaline in your private parts. That's what
- 35:42Speaker 3: this car is like to drive. Look, here's the thing.
- 35:48Speaker 3: I'm gonna get in trouble for saying that. But whatever,
- 35:52Speaker 3: the car is great. It's a really good car and
- 35:54Speaker 3: it's got its place. I think the jury is still
- 35:58Speaker 3: out as it's th road capabilities, given that you were
- 36:01Speaker 3: given a pre production.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Car and like another crack.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Yeah, so look, it's not the end of that chapter.
- 36:06Speaker 3: I think if you've got one of these on order,
- 36:09Speaker 3: from my perspective, you're going to get what you're excited about.
- 36:12Speaker 3: I think where the star of the show on this
- 36:15Speaker 3: car kind of is is the fact that it is
- 36:18Speaker 3: a good daily like it's a proper drive around the city,
- 36:21Speaker 3: no problems, you know, and it does feel like an
- 36:24Speaker 3: ev you know what I mean, which is weird. Anyway,
- 36:29Speaker 3: we'll talk more about that in another episode. Oh that's all.
- 36:32Speaker 3: You don't want to add anything else a moment you
- 36:35Speaker 3: want to save you your cards, do you?
- 36:37Speaker 2: I think so? So. The other one that I drove
- 36:42Speaker 2: recently and absolutely loved is the new Ford Mustang base GT.
- 36:49Speaker 2: So it was a six speed manual. Okay, that thing
- 36:52Speaker 2: is so cool. I love the fact that in this
- 36:54Speaker 2: day and age, when you know, people get excited over
- 36:58Speaker 2: plug in hybrid electroc utes, the cars like the V
- 37:02Speaker 2: eight Mustang still exist. It has gone up in price,
- 37:05Speaker 2: it is like well over eighty thousand dollars now, but
- 37:08Speaker 2: in my mind it is still such a great performance car.
- 37:11Speaker 2: You've got a great gearbox, amazing sound out of the exhaust.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that dark Horse sounds phenomenal. I know we're not
- 37:19Speaker 3: talking about the dark Horse, but that car. My made,
- 37:22Speaker 3: bought one and it's just incredible. I think the base
- 37:26Speaker 3: GT that you had, that the software that they've put in,
- 37:29Speaker 3: the tech that they've put in was much needed and
- 37:31Speaker 3: it's really good.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Is the tech is the thing I love?
- 37:34Speaker 3: You've got you're right there with your heart burn. I'm
- 37:37Speaker 3: going to leave all that in by the way, in fact,
- 37:39Speaker 3: I'm going to make it. I'm going to isolate it.
- 37:42Speaker 3: It's the word.
- 37:44Speaker 2: So Yeah. The thing I love stuff like the drift breaks.
- 37:47Speaker 2: They've got now electrically actuated park break that you can
- 37:51Speaker 2: use as a drift brake. They've got the line locked feature,
- 37:55Speaker 2: which they didn't bring last time because I was worried
- 37:58Speaker 2: about people cracking the shit. It's over it. They've got
- 38:02Speaker 2: so many just cool functions that you can activate, REV matching,
- 38:05Speaker 2: all this sort of stuff that you just don't find
- 38:08Speaker 2: on cars these days. It's really cool to see V
- 38:10Speaker 2: eight reel drive manual, just just good stuff. Body unreal.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Oh you know what, I did drive again A couple
- 38:18Speaker 3: of I needed some time to fill in, so I
- 38:22Speaker 3: had a cone of EV, which is a great little
- 38:24Speaker 3: fun they'll get about. I think where that car fails
- 38:27Speaker 3: is basically it's not a dedicated EV platform for me anyway.
- 38:32Speaker 3: But generally it's fitted out so well. It looks beautiful inside.
- 38:35Speaker 3: They've given it some great updates. But you know what
- 38:38Speaker 3: I really love, and I know you really don't love,
- 38:41Speaker 3: is the B five hundred E No right, it's.
- 38:45Speaker 2: All sorts of shit.
- 38:46Speaker 3: It makes no sense. While I like a sixty thousand
- 38:49Speaker 3: dollars tiny, tiny little golf ball that makes fake noises
- 38:54Speaker 3: and has like two hundred kilometers worth of EV range,
- 38:58Speaker 3: it makes no sense. But driving this thing around, I
- 39:03Speaker 3: just had it. It's just so fun. If you can
- 39:06Speaker 3: ignore all that. I mean, look, if they wanted to,
- 39:10Speaker 3: if they really wanted to put out something competitive, that
- 39:13Speaker 3: probably should take about twenty thousand dollars off the price
- 39:15Speaker 3: tag trying out one hundred kilometers of range. It's it's
- 39:19Speaker 3: still good. And you know what, our producer live who
- 39:21Speaker 3: often sits in this chair to produce our program, she
- 39:26Speaker 3: bloody loved it too. Whatever, it's fun. You can't deny
- 39:29Speaker 3: that that car is fine. We've got some questions, oh yeah,
- 39:32Speaker 3: on some questions rapid Fire. Can you guys give us
- 39:35Speaker 3: an update on Jaguar. Yeah, it's it's still a train
- 39:42Speaker 3: wreck when they release those cars.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I just I honestly, surely they should have read the
- 39:51Speaker 2: tea leaves and seen that people are not interested in
- 39:54Speaker 2: that shit anyway.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Jesus, at this moment they are zept cars and they
- 40:02Speaker 3: are yeh yeah, they are yet to bring out an
- 40:06Speaker 3: actual production car, so I will leave my comments behind
- 40:10Speaker 3: on that one. Do you think Tesla has finally fixed
- 40:13Speaker 3: the ride or is that just never going to happen?
- 40:15Speaker 3: That is from the Good Doyle. Thank you for your question.
- 40:18Speaker 3: I'm going to presume the Good Oyle is talking about
- 40:22Speaker 3: the new model. Y.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Well, yeah, they will have because it's now going to
- 40:26Speaker 2: use the same suspension that they've put in the Model three,
- 40:29Speaker 2: and in the Model three it's completely transformed it. So
- 40:32Speaker 2: they announced when they sort of revealed that car, that
- 40:35Speaker 2: that suspension will go into Model Y.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Okay, cool. Actually we didn't even talk about that, but yeah,
- 40:41Speaker 3: the Model Y. There's a new Model Y. You're right, yeah,
- 40:43Speaker 3: it looks very different.
- 40:44Speaker 2: What do you think of the design?
- 40:46Speaker 5: Ho hum?
- 40:47Speaker 3: I think it's got the update it definitely needed. It
- 40:50Speaker 3: looks good on the front, it looks good from the
- 40:53Speaker 3: back and front. The interior to me is just like, Man,
- 40:56Speaker 3: I like that they brought stork back. Yes, they're bringing
- 40:58Speaker 3: stock get back.
- 40:59Speaker 2: At least they're listening because that is the thing that
- 41:02Speaker 2: everyone hated about the Model three.
- 41:03Speaker 3: So I think that's cool.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Yep.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Those Teslas have just become a little bit boring generic. Yeah,
- 41:10Speaker 3: from a car that was once really exciting and the
- 41:15Speaker 3: way they engineered it, and you know, to me, a
- 41:17Speaker 3: Tesla always stood in a league of its own. I
- 41:19Speaker 3: kind of just go, yeah, same, same now, man, that's
- 41:22Speaker 3: another question, not a question, per se. Just keep up
- 41:26Speaker 3: the awesome work. The Trev Banter is world class. Haha.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Thank you Loopy for it. Four.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, Trevor's a big, fat area bastard.
- 41:36Speaker 2: I love that he just never has a chance to respond.
- 41:39Speaker 3: Even when we did give him a chance to respond,
- 41:41Speaker 3: no one could fucking understand him. He was under the
- 41:43Speaker 3: covers of his bed. Do you guys have Do you
- 41:51Speaker 3: guys know of any hybrid vans that's from Doug Wookie
- 41:54Speaker 3: hybrid vans?
- 41:56Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 41:58Speaker 3: I probably, I guess you could call I wonder if
- 42:02Speaker 3: Keya would bring out a hybrid of the Carnival. Yeah,
- 42:05Speaker 3: but that's not probably the kind of van he's talking.
- 42:07Speaker 2: Okay, so the I'm just this is so bad. I'm
- 42:13Speaker 2: just googling it now. So there are electric fans, so
- 42:17Speaker 2: it says, yeah, Volkswagen tip to launch Australia's first plug
- 42:20Speaker 2: in hybrid van Stario Hybrid.
- 42:24Speaker 3: Oh there you go.
- 42:25Speaker 2: That's what I forgot about that, Okay, Stari hybrid.
- 42:29Speaker 3: I think that answers this question. Let's keep going. How
- 42:31Speaker 3: do you two know each other?
- 42:33Speaker 2: Well?
- 42:34Speaker 3: That was we met on Snapchat. Paul was sending photos
- 42:40Speaker 3: which I thought was just nature photos from the Amazon,
- 42:45Speaker 3: and now I thought it was nature photos.
- 42:47Speaker 2: From the Amazon.
- 42:48Speaker 3: It's definitely not a Vulgan. It was during COVID. I said,
- 42:52Speaker 3: let's start a podcast, yeah, and you went, yeah, okay,
- 42:56Speaker 3: So I don't know what car this person, Liam Leaf
- 42:59Speaker 3: is referring to. Who does this?
- 43:00Speaker 5: Oh?
- 43:01Speaker 3: Maybe it's the Shark six, because I said we were
- 43:03Speaker 3: gonna review the Shark six. But does the Senate console
- 43:06Speaker 3: fold down so Donna can give Parvlay some loving while driving?
- 43:10Speaker 2: Well, even if it did, it wouldn't support that kind
- 43:13Speaker 2: of mass.
- 43:16Speaker 3: When you saw the by D struggling to get up
- 43:18Speaker 3: a hill, that's Pavlay trying to like get on top
- 43:21Speaker 3: of one of Donna's thighs.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Just grappling. Just now that I've got a software update though,
- 43:27Speaker 2: just putting your.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Bucket over ahead and holding onto the handles. We should
- 43:32Speaker 3: wrap this up. I'm sure, I'm sure people are over it.
- 43:36Speaker 3: That that will be enough from us. There will be
- 43:39Speaker 3: a very quick BYD episode coming up.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Yeah, levis rating if you haven't done so yet, what's
- 43:46Speaker 2: our email? I forgot now? Contact at the Drivers Show
