- 0:09Speaker 2: It is time to leave your worries outside and life
- 0:13Speaker 2: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with
- 0:17Speaker 2: Trey Trendholm and Raj Sharman. Believe it was just a
- 0:25Speaker 2: couple of days ago we discussed about the men's Olympic
- 0:30Speaker 2: ski jumpers and the possibility of them injecting their wieners
- 0:38Speaker 2: to fly farther during competition. Well, now that that story
- 0:43Speaker 2: is wrapped around the earth three or four times with
- 0:46Speaker 2: some left over, now they're starting to poke some holes
- 0:52Speaker 2: into this situation. Olympian CAC person says crotchgate is utter ridiculousness.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Two time Olympic athlete Casey Larson really wishes we'd all
- 1:09Speaker 2: just forget about this. He's now a ski jumping coach
- 1:15Speaker 2: and he spoke with News Nation and he's not loving it.
- 1:25Speaker 2: He says, this is complete and utter ridiculousness. I, as
- 1:29Speaker 2: a plugged in athlete for a very long time, have
- 1:33Speaker 2: heard nothing about this. No, it's not happening. Well, that's
- 1:37Speaker 2: exactly what you say if you just finished pumping up
- 1:40Speaker 2: your wiener in a tent to get more drag on
- 1:42Speaker 2: a suit so you could fly farther in the Olympics.
- 1:49Speaker 2: He does go on to also say he did, however,
- 1:58Speaker 2: speak of some of the controversy in the sport over
- 2:01Speaker 2: the past year, likely referencing Norwegian ski jumpers variously and
- 2:07Speaker 2: Johann Andre Forfarg that's a great last name Forefang, Yeah,
- 2:12Speaker 2: who were found to have extra fabric applied to the
- 2:16Speaker 2: seams of their uniforms during the World Ski Championships in
- 2:19Speaker 2: twenty twenty five. The material was discovered after an examination
- 2:23Speaker 2: of the seams of their crotches after the event, and
- 2:30Speaker 2: they all go on to you know, give more the science,
- 2:32Speaker 2: like we did the other day, that an augmented suit,
- 2:37Speaker 2: even just a couple of centimeters in the crotch area,
- 2:41Speaker 2: can add close to six meters in additional distance when
- 2:47Speaker 2: you ski jump.
- 2:53Speaker 3: But also, who's going to tell their coach like, hey,
- 2:55Speaker 3: check out my dog.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Shoot up to.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Show well, I mean, they have to measure these suits.
- 3:03Speaker 2: So there's someone that's trying to find cheaters by measuring
- 3:08Speaker 2: the amount of material on the suits, including the crouch areas.
- 3:12Speaker 2: So if this picks up enough steam, does that mean
- 3:15Speaker 2: that that team that measures the suits are also going
- 3:18Speaker 2: to have to start measuring.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Well, it sounds like the shirts. The suits are uniformly measured.
- 3:27Speaker 1: They body scan everyone and they measure them to fit
- 3:31Speaker 1: each person. Yes, why are we talking about ski jumping?
- 3:39Speaker 1: It literally it's a sport that maybe five hundred people
- 3:42Speaker 1: in the world care about.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but I can't stop talking about it, and neither
- 3:47Speaker 2: can the Internet look anything to get the ratings up
- 3:52Speaker 2: or the Olympics or is it great? Is what?
- 3:56Speaker 1: That's it? Or you're dick or that you know?
- 4:01Speaker 2: They do say that the Olympics are a tental thing
- 4:05Speaker 2: for NBC, so this is I'm sure NBC is loving this.
- 4:09Speaker 2: They're going to try to ignore it to a certain
- 4:13Speaker 2: extent to maintain some air of credibility and whatever, but
- 4:17Speaker 2: they'll take the extra eyeballs. Speaking of which, I don't
- 4:22Speaker 2: think it's any coincidence. Hang on, let me get this
- 4:25Speaker 2: accurate here. I like to be accurate.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Since when.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Since always Trey. Unless I'm lying, I don't think it's
- 4:35Speaker 2: any coincidence that we have all the swirling controversy about
- 4:40Speaker 2: the possibility of men's ski jumpers injecting substances into their
- 4:45Speaker 2: genitals to get extra fabric to fly farther in competition.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I don't think it's any coincidence that on Saturday, Valentine's Day,
- 5:00Speaker 2: that's the day that they are doing the men's Large
- 5:03Speaker 2: Hill Individuals ski jumping competition.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Here's what I think this is. We all know that
- 5:11Speaker 1: the Olympic village is a big f fest, and I
- 5:14Speaker 1: think the ski jumpers got together and go, hey, what's
- 5:17Speaker 1: going to give us an advantage?
- 5:18Speaker 2: That's right? And also it gave them an advantage in competition.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Let screw the competition. They are like, you know what,
- 5:28Speaker 1: what's gonna get us laid the most?
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yeah? No, I'm with you. I think that was the goal.
- 5:32Speaker 2: And then and then they felt additional benefits once they
- 5:37Speaker 2: went back to, you know, practicing. You're like, hey, this
- 5:41Speaker 2: works on two levels.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Oh, I'm saying they're not even doing it. I'm saying
- 5:46Speaker 1: this is all made up just to get chicks.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Oh, well, imagine their disappointment.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Well, chances are, while they're already there.
- 6:03Speaker 2: You're not wrong.
- 6:06Speaker 3: You're gonna hear a lot of I thought it was
- 6:07Speaker 3: going to be bigger. Should have seen it before the injection.
- 6:13Speaker 1: No, wonder why you didn't win gold?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Oh, you're a qualifier.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I see.
- 6:22Speaker 2: This this. Former ski jumper Casey Larson also said some
- 6:26Speaker 2: athletes may push the limits of acceptable surface area, perhaps
- 6:29Speaker 2: with their uniforms or gloves, but said it's not widespread.
- 6:35Speaker 2: It's also an equipment based sport, which means that every
- 6:39Speaker 2: piece of gear, skis, helmet, boots could have an impact
- 6:43Speaker 2: on the link of a jump, and that sometimes puts
- 6:45Speaker 2: a spotlight on the wrong elements. What is it they say,
- 6:49Speaker 2: if you're not you're not cheating, You're not trying.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're not cheating, you're not trying to win.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Mm hmm. I mean when you're when you're at this
- 6:59Speaker 2: level of comp petition, every centimeter matters.
- 7:04Speaker 3: That's a horrible philosophy. You're not cheating, you're not trying,
- 7:09Speaker 3: says the cheaters.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I think that I think that saying originated in NASCAR
- 7:17Speaker 1: just to get really yeah, as some guys chiseling off
- 7:22Speaker 1: a fraction of a centimeter on the hood for whatever
- 7:26Speaker 1: additional bump and aero dynamics. Oh you know that comes
- 7:31Speaker 1: from back in the day. I actually I think it
- 7:33Speaker 1: was Richard Petty that said that. But when when stock
- 7:36Speaker 1: cars were actually stock and you had they had a
- 7:39Speaker 1: lot of range and what they could do to them
- 7:41Speaker 1: to make them faster. Yeah, the gray area of the rules.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Well, and honestly, that was at a time when the
- 7:48Speaker 2: stock car racing was really really interesting because here's your
- 7:52Speaker 2: stock car, and now what's up to you to make
- 7:54Speaker 2: it go fast? And here's a few parameters that you
- 7:57Speaker 2: have to work inside. And then they got really good
- 8:00Speaker 2: at it, and they got so good at it that
- 8:02Speaker 2: then NASCAR is like, Okay, we need to do some
- 8:05Speaker 2: actual rules here because you guys are going crazy. And
- 8:07Speaker 2: so they did that. But the tradition of finding ways
- 8:12Speaker 2: to skirt the rules or just outright cheat remain, and
- 8:17Speaker 2: then it's you know, it's kind of like they just
- 8:19Speaker 2: get better at it.
- 8:23Speaker 3: That it comes from NASCAR now makes sense.
- 8:26Speaker 2: If you're if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying. Yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 2: I think that's I think that's the exact quote. It's
- 8:30Speaker 2: two eights.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I've never seen I've never seen one NASCAR race
- 8:37Speaker 3: in my life.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Sure you have, no have you seen possibly, uh, Trey,
- 8:44Speaker 2: how many laps are in a typical race?
- 8:46Speaker 1: Two?
- 8:47Speaker 2: Have you ever seen two hundred clips of NASCAR race?
- 8:51Speaker 2: Raj Y like just in a bar see it up
- 8:54Speaker 2: on TV and there's a clip and you just see it.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I bet in your lifetime you've seen one race just
- 9:00Speaker 2: wasn't all one raised. They were just together.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I couldn't tell you a single person's name or team
- 9:07Speaker 3: or nothing.
- 9:08Speaker 2: You know my name? You know one name from NASCAR?
- 9:12Speaker 3: Who's that?
- 9:14Speaker 2: You know? Dick Trickle.
- 9:20Speaker 3: No, but that's a fantastic name.
- 9:23Speaker 2: It wasn't Trery. Wasn't that the name from uh.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Days of Thunder?
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Days of Thunder? No, sorry, Cold Trickle.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Dick Trickle was actual racer. And that was the joke
- 9:38Speaker 1: of the old Sports Center with Dan Patrick and Keith Oberman.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Dick Trickle.
- 9:46Speaker 2: That's my bad. I got, I got, I got reality
- 9:48Speaker 2: and Hollywood crossed up. Hollywood's like, we can't name this
- 9:52Speaker 2: driver Dick Trickle. No one would believe it. So they
- 9:55Speaker 2: named Tom Cruise's character Cole Trickle, and then lo and behold.
- 10:00Speaker 2: A few years later, an actual Dick Trickle emerged onto
- 10:03Speaker 2: the racing scene.
- 10:06Speaker 3: And then into porn.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Hey, you lay the groundwork in one industry as you
- 10:13Speaker 2: build a second one down the light.
- 10:17Speaker 3: I've been I've been invited to the NASCAR races at
- 10:20Speaker 3: the Texas Motor Speedway.
- 10:21Speaker 2: But I've never they're fun. They're fun races, man, It's
- 10:25Speaker 2: it's at mm hmm.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Yeah. I know a buddy of mine always runs an
- 10:31Speaker 3: RV and goes out there for the whole time and
- 10:34Speaker 3: they partied up and all that, and I've been invited
- 10:37Speaker 3: to that, and I'm like, I will pass. I just
- 10:42Speaker 3: can't just watching cars turn left all day. I can't.
- 10:46Speaker 3: I can't do it.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Oh, it's it is cool when you get in the
- 10:49Speaker 1: stands and you know, you you can feel the cars. Uh,
- 10:55Speaker 1: But it's the the event as a whole. The race
- 10:58Speaker 1: For a lot of people, the race is second. Darry
- 11:00Speaker 1: did the big party that takes place all weekend, gotch
- 11:03Speaker 1: I mean we used to be part of a group
- 11:05Speaker 1: that we rent like five RVs and basically take up
- 11:10Speaker 1: this big section of campground. And I mean even to
- 11:14Speaker 1: the point these guys literally went out there in the
- 11:18Speaker 1: off season and poured the concrete so they could put
- 11:20Speaker 1: the stripper pull in and then you know, big crawfish
- 11:24Speaker 1: boil and it's it was fun.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Oh, crawfish and strippers, That's the American dream.
- 11:33Speaker 1: And raised a couple thousand dollars for charity in the process.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Oh, I'm glad she made some money. That's good.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Laugh all you want. But I went to middle school
- 11:45Speaker 2: with a girl named Charity.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I went to school to a girl Charity in
- 11:50Speaker 3: one with Chastity. That was That was my favorite one.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I bet they had a good double feature at the
- 11:57Speaker 2: Platinum Club. I will say the uh, the NASCAR events
- 12:04Speaker 2: are a lot of fun I've had. There were some
- 12:07Speaker 2: people that would really the race, like not even secondary.
- 12:11Speaker 2: They didn't even care about the race. They would just
- 12:12Speaker 2: go for the campground party on the infield stuff they had.
- 12:15Speaker 2: The race was just whatever they might leave before the
- 12:17Speaker 2: race even happened, just to beat traffic.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Do you have to do you have to pay for
- 12:23Speaker 3: the campground stuff?
- 12:26Speaker 1: Mm hmm, it's not. I mean if for the actual sites,
- 12:31Speaker 1: I forgot what it is. It's not. It's not terribly expensive,
- 12:34Speaker 1: but I mean it's listen, people put out throw out
- 12:37Speaker 1: a lot of money. I mean, and the RVs and
- 12:39Speaker 1: everything else that go out there, and the setups. It's
- 12:43Speaker 1: like I said, it's a it's a fun time.
- 12:46Speaker 3: My buddy, my buddy Brut's been going twenty five years.
- 12:50Speaker 3: He's been going out there every single year, and it
- 12:55Speaker 3: says a blast, and I again been invited, and I.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Just I don't know.
- 13:01Speaker 2: I'm not going to tell you that you should go,
- 13:03Speaker 2: but you know, if you've been invited that many times,
- 13:07Speaker 2: it's an experience that you can add to your you know,
- 13:10Speaker 2: not necessarily a bucket list item you may currently have,
- 13:14Speaker 2: but you could just write it down then check it out.
- 13:15Speaker 2: But hey, I did this thing, now now I know
- 13:17Speaker 2: what it is, and maybe you get material out of
- 13:20Speaker 2: it as well. That's think of it as a work trip.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Raj okay, go out there for a night, have fun,
- 13:29Speaker 1: get drunk, see a bunch of boobs, and then uh
- 13:33Speaker 1: go for the start of the race, the pageantry, everything
- 13:36Speaker 1: else to fly over when you feel when they fire
- 13:38Speaker 1: up the engines and you can literally feel it, and then.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Leave when they're all distracted.
- 13:45Speaker 3: See this isn't in the stands. A buddy of mine
- 13:47Speaker 3: has a box there, and that's what that doesn't sound
- 13:50Speaker 3: like a lot of fun because I know he told
- 13:53Speaker 3: me himself, like he goes just for the same thing,
- 13:56Speaker 3: but everybody's watching it on the TVs inside the box.
- 14:00Speaker 3: They're not even watching the actual phrase.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Then pay for a cheap seat in the stands for
- 14:06Speaker 1: the start, you know it won't be that much. And uh,
- 14:10Speaker 1: like I said, feel, hell, you could just walk out
- 14:13Speaker 1: there and in the stands, feel that it's really cool
- 14:19Speaker 1: when they fire up the engines and you feel it
- 14:22Speaker 1: because ah and steam go buy a couple of times
- 14:26Speaker 1: it's cool. And then especially a Texas Motor Speedway, a
- 14:30Speaker 1: lot of times you get one car that just checks
- 14:33Speaker 1: out after about five ten laps. Take off if you're not,
- 14:39Speaker 1: if you're not enjoying org and then go up to
- 14:40Speaker 1: the box and eat and drink and be with the
- 14:43Speaker 1: fancy people.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I will say this. Boxes are not as fun
- 14:47Speaker 1: as being in the stands.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they have a box at and T and
- 14:55Speaker 3: I went and watched the game with them one time,
- 14:57Speaker 3: and literally everybody is watching the games from inside the
- 15:01Speaker 3: box on the TVs.
- 15:03Speaker 1: That's my problem with AT and T Stadium and in
- 15:05Speaker 1: general is especially if you're on the upper like third
- 15:08Speaker 1: or fourth level, you're watching that big screen more than
- 15:10Speaker 1: you are in the field. Yeah, this is I mean
- 15:13Speaker 1: you went through a lot of trouble to go sit
- 15:15Speaker 1: somewhere and watch TV.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Yes, And I mean I went outside and I was like,
- 15:21Speaker 3: I can throw I can literally throw a rock and
- 15:23Speaker 3: hit deck in the head. That's how close I was.
- 15:28Speaker 3: And everybody that even came outside was doing the jumbo tron.
- 15:31Speaker 3: They weren't even watching the field.
- 15:37Speaker 2: So that's what I feel like we're doing now, Turing.
- 15:45Speaker 2: We're just watching Raj on the jumbo tron. But we
- 15:48Speaker 2: can't understand a thing you're saying, Well, we can guess
- 15:58Speaker 2: white people did something.
- 16:06Speaker 4: You're listening to the Treehouse. Visit us online that Treehouse
- 16:10Speaker 4: on air dot com.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Let's get Daniel Cook from Cookdfwroofing and Restoration into the
- 16:17Speaker 2: Treehouse eight three to three. Cook DFW is the phone
- 16:20Speaker 2: number you will need to schedule your free roof inspection
- 16:23Speaker 2: and property review. Daniel. I'm certain you've seen those inflatable barriers,
- 16:30Speaker 2: the bubbles that people can activate to protect their vehicles
- 16:34Speaker 2: during a hailstorm. Does that exist for a house yet.
- 16:41Speaker 5: It's been talked about trying to see how they can
- 16:43Speaker 5: make those, but I don't know if anything's ever going
- 16:45Speaker 5: to be made like that.
- 16:47Speaker 1: It would, but you know, even those ones for.
- 16:51Speaker 5: The cars, if the hill is large enough, it can
- 16:54Speaker 5: damage the car still after those are great for those
- 16:57Speaker 5: smaller hell events that you just don't want those nuisance
- 17:00Speaker 5: beings on your car, the pocket chains events, the large
- 17:05Speaker 5: p size hell, you know, because it can still dent
- 17:07Speaker 5: your car. You know, small hill's still damaging. I know
- 17:10Speaker 5: there's a misconception out of there. We just had some
- 17:12Speaker 5: small hell. We didn't get any damage. You probably did,
- 17:15Speaker 5: you know, it just wasn't like things that you noticeable
- 17:19Speaker 5: can see after a large hell event like the one
- 17:21Speaker 5: that just went through here in Collin County, North Colin
- 17:23Speaker 5: last September. Well, they knew they had damage because they
- 17:26Speaker 5: had windows blown out, garage doors, had hits on them,
- 17:29Speaker 5: looked like someone had shot them. You know, everybody's windows
- 17:32Speaker 5: are broken out in their cars, so then they know
- 17:35Speaker 5: they had a large enough event. But as far as
- 17:38Speaker 5: your total home protection, there's not going to be any
- 17:41Speaker 5: kind of force filled or large balloon that you probably
- 17:44Speaker 5: are going to be able to put around your home.
- 17:46Speaker 5: So you just need to make sure that you hunker
- 17:48Speaker 5: down and you get that checked out as soon as
- 17:51Speaker 5: possible to make sure you don't have substantial leaks that
- 17:53Speaker 5: are going to be forming really soon after that storm.
- 17:56Speaker 2: And he brings up a great point, and that is
- 17:58Speaker 2: it doesn't matter this side of the hail that falls
- 18:01Speaker 2: during the storm, because after the fact you need to
- 18:04Speaker 2: have that roof inspected to see to make sure that
- 18:08Speaker 2: there isn't any damage, because even if it's a small
- 18:11Speaker 2: piece of damage, that can grow over time and turn
- 18:14Speaker 2: into a massive problem even from a small hailed event.
- 18:18Speaker 2: So give Daniel and this team a call after severe
- 18:21Speaker 2: weather eight three three Cook DFW or that website cookdfw
- 18:25Speaker 2: dot com.
- 18:30Speaker 4: You're in the Treehouse Christiness online at Treehouse OnAir dot com.
- 18:37Speaker 2: This segment of the Treehouse is brought to you by
- 18:39Speaker 2: Cookdfwroofing and Restoration. To get your free roof inspection, give
- 18:44Speaker 2: Daniel Cook a call today eight three three Cook DFW.
- 18:48Speaker 2: That's eight three three Cook DFW or the website Cook
- 18:51Speaker 2: dfw dot com. We were talking earlier about the men
- 19:00Speaker 2: ski jumping at the Olympics, and I mentioned it the
- 19:03Speaker 2: other day. It's like, I feel like I hadn't seen
- 19:05Speaker 2: this much stuff about the Olympics on the news or
- 19:07Speaker 2: on social media. Well that's been sold over the last
- 19:09Speaker 2: twenty four hours. Now I'm getting hit with lots of
- 19:11Speaker 2: stuff and that's a lot of fun. And as we know,
- 19:14Speaker 2: the Olympics are fraught with drama, but one Norwegian biathlete
- 19:20Speaker 2: took it to the next level during a live post
- 19:23Speaker 2: race interview when he actually confessed to cheating on his girlfriend. Yeah,
- 19:33Speaker 2: so he wins a bronze medal and then he goes
- 19:35Speaker 2: on TV to talk about post race and he says,
- 19:37Speaker 2: I want to think he turned the volume bell. Little
- 19:41Speaker 2: bits I translate here because I now speak Norwegian. I
- 19:47Speaker 2: think the lactures for a great day of And there's
- 19:55Speaker 2: one person I want to share this with who may
- 19:57Speaker 2: not be watching today, but six months ago I met
- 20:03Speaker 2: the love of my life. It's a wonderful person in
- 20:07Speaker 2: the world. And three minimalist I used to make my life.
- 20:13Speaker 2: And cheating that's all I've been thinking about for a week.
- 20:20Speaker 2: It's been the worst week of my life. So I
- 20:26Speaker 2: had a gold medal in life. Many people out there
- 20:31Speaker 2: now see me in a different light. I only have
- 20:34Speaker 2: eyes and I'm not quite sure what I want to
- 20:38Speaker 2: say here now. So he won a bronze, but this
- 20:43Speaker 2: is going to cost him some gold.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Go bang a figure skater and shut up.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Go find a real problem.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Yeah, go find five foot of crazy.
- 20:57Speaker 2: And spitting.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Only that kind of ballsy. I give him credit for that.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Well, the cheating was ballsy. The weird thing about about
- 21:10Speaker 2: a cheating situation is, especially if you're in the public
- 21:13Speaker 2: eye like this guy is. I don't know if she's
- 21:19Speaker 2: not taken him back or what the situation is. Was
- 21:22Speaker 2: this a last ditch effort for him to show her
- 21:24Speaker 2: how much he cares about her and be like, please
- 21:27Speaker 2: take me back. I'm so sorry. Sure, I mean, I
- 21:30Speaker 2: still went through with this race and got a bronze medal,
- 21:32Speaker 2: but I was only thinking about you so much so
- 21:35Speaker 2: that I'm now going to tell the world what a huge,
- 21:38Speaker 2: massive mistake I've done, even though I didn't check with
- 21:42Speaker 2: you to see if that's okay, because not everyone wants
- 21:46Speaker 2: this stuff public.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Well, I would guess. I mean, we're talking about Norway,
- 21:51Speaker 1: so he's probably a star in Norway, where this might
- 21:56Speaker 1: have been in some kind of you know, page six
- 21:58Speaker 1: type thing there, and you know otherwise where we couldn't
- 22:03Speaker 1: tell you who are when her athletes were for left
- 22:05Speaker 1: nor money.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Most Americans couldn't even tell you what a biathlon is.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So uh but is that? I mean, I feel like
- 22:17Speaker 1: he's trying to like kind of flog himself in front
- 22:19Speaker 1: of the world to get her back and I just
- 22:21Speaker 1: I don't think that's probably gonna work. I don't think
- 22:25Speaker 1: adding adding more spotlight on your transgressions is the way
- 22:29Speaker 1: to get her back.
- 22:30Speaker 2: You don't think embarrassing her. You don't think embarrassing her
- 22:33Speaker 2: further on, not just you know, national stage, but international
- 22:40Speaker 2: stage is gonna do is gonna be the thing that
- 22:43Speaker 2: gets her back?
- 22:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think so, because I'm sure the problem.
- 22:47Speaker 1: You know, in Norway everyone knew. Now the world knows.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but he also said she wasn't watching. So like
- 22:55Speaker 2: what he said, he didn't know if she was watching.
- 22:59Speaker 2: But on the off chance that she was, partly because
- 23:03Speaker 2: maybe somewhere deep down she hopes that he's successful, or
- 23:07Speaker 2: maybe also partly she's watching just to see if she
- 23:11Speaker 2: can catch him cheating on her again somewhere in the
- 23:13Speaker 2: background of a race.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Yeah, well, even if she wasn't watching, one of her
- 23:18Speaker 1: friends was, oh, yeah, there's always there's always a friend.
- 23:25Speaker 2: It's kind of like it's kind of like in court,
- 23:27Speaker 2: you have the court stenographer. The court stenographer is like
- 23:33Speaker 2: the friend, and they will report back as to what
- 23:37Speaker 2: you have done, what you've said, all of it.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, maybe one of the family members that
- 23:44Speaker 3: he was talking about that he thanked. Maybe they're friends
- 23:47Speaker 3: with her as well. You gotta go watch, because on
- 23:51Speaker 3: a global stage he was so sorry, he.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Cried, I know, I mean, sure he thanked the waxers,
- 23:56Speaker 2: but then he went right to you and said, you know,
- 23:58Speaker 2: he really screwed up.
- 24:01Speaker 1: If we're talking about this a podcast based in Texas,
- 24:07Speaker 1: I'm quite sure Norway is a buzz about this.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Scandinavia is all hot and bothered by it.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Do you think that going on international television after winning
- 24:23Speaker 2: a bronze medal in the biathlon admitting to cheating is
- 24:28Speaker 2: gonna get her back? No?
- 24:32Speaker 3: Yeah, you never know. It depends on the girl, Like
- 24:39Speaker 3: she could be five feet of crazy, Like you know what,
- 24:42Speaker 3: that was perfect, he he apologized on national on international TV.
- 24:48Speaker 2: You're right, maybe maybe maybe what she needed, maybe what
- 24:51Speaker 2: she wanted was a grand gesture.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I generally feel like one of the big things with cheating,
- 24:59Speaker 1: and especially with women, is the embarrassment of it. And
- 25:04Speaker 1: so I don't think going public is going to do
- 25:06Speaker 1: yourself any favors, especially when you.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Kind of also mm hmm. Yeah, so he embarrassed himself
- 25:14Speaker 3: as well her. Yeah, and they can be embarrassed together
- 25:22Speaker 3: in love.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Now, maybe she puts them in the cutchair and watches
- 25:25Speaker 1: the long jumpers banger.
- 25:30Speaker 3: I don't know that's punishment right there for sure, but
- 25:34Speaker 3: their giant injected penances.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Just a whole mountain just lined up. The ski lift
- 25:41Speaker 2: after ski lift after ski lift, next one, next one,
- 25:43Speaker 2: next one.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Oh no, not that you're making Bob sled team.
- 25:50Speaker 2: You don't want to go after them.

- 26:44Speaker 2: All right, uh so, now that we got Olympics stuff
- 26:46Speaker 2: out of the way, let's go back to one of
- 26:48Speaker 2: the biggest stories of the week. The numbers are in
- 26:53Speaker 2: from Super Bowl sixties halftime show. Bad Bunny's performance landed
- 26:58Speaker 2: at number two all time with one hundred and twenty
- 27:01Speaker 2: eight million viewers and a possible federal investigation. So take that,
- 27:07Speaker 2: Kendrick Lamar. United States Congressman Andy Ogles is demanding an
- 27:15Speaker 2: investigation into Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show, which he
- 27:19Speaker 2: described as pure smut, and he's also concerned about the
- 27:26Speaker 2: widespread torking some stories I wish I was making up
- 27:32Speaker 2: and this is actually one of them. Congressman Ogles, a
- 27:37Speaker 2: fifty four year old Republican from Tennessee, called for a
- 27:39Speaker 2: formal congressional inquiry into the National Football League and NBC
- 27:45Speaker 2: immediately for their prior knowledge, deliberate approval, and facilitation of
- 27:51Speaker 2: this indecent island in the oh wait, sorry, this indecent broadcast.
- 27:56Speaker 2: That's what he's upset about. That was on Monday, February night.
- 28:00Speaker 2: He says American culture will not be mocked or corrupted
- 28:04Speaker 2: without consequence. He also added children were forced to endure
- 28:11Speaker 2: explicit displays of gay sexual acts, women gyrating provocatively, and
- 28:16Speaker 2: bad Money shamelessly grabbing his crutch while dry humping the air.
- 28:21Speaker 2: And if that weren't outrageous enough. Their performance's lyrics openly
- 28:25Speaker 2: glorified sodomy and countless other unspeakable depravities. These flagrant indecent
- 28:31Speaker 2: acts are illegal to be displayed on public airways. And
- 28:36Speaker 2: I am left wondering which Super Bowl halftime performance did
- 28:39Speaker 2: he see? Because I feel I feel like I need
- 28:42Speaker 2: to go back and rewatch this to see, like, Okay,
- 28:44Speaker 2: what did I miss?
- 28:46Speaker 1: I want to know how he knows what they're saying,
- 28:50Speaker 1: because I don't believe I find just questioning that to
- 28:54Speaker 1: begin with.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that was sort of the main problem
- 28:58Speaker 2: with a bunch of people with the halftime shows. They
- 29:00Speaker 2: were pissed because it wasn't going to be in English
- 29:03Speaker 2: and they wouldn't understand it. Well, there's a benefit to
- 29:08Speaker 2: things not being in your native tongue is maybe you
- 29:10Speaker 2: won't understand it, so that way you may not be
- 29:13Speaker 2: offended by it. But whatever. In a letter, a strongly
- 29:19Speaker 2: worded letter written to Brent Guthrie, the Chairman of the
- 29:22Speaker 2: Committee on Energy and Commerce, Ogels pointed out specific points
- 29:26Speaker 2: of contention with Bad Bunny's performance, which aired live on Sunday.
- 29:30Speaker 2: He criticized Bad Bunny for performing his song so Farah,
- 29:33Speaker 2: which the congressman said includes references to an lingus sexual
- 29:37Speaker 2: intercourse and other explicit themes. I seriously got to go
- 29:41Speaker 2: back and rewatch the halftime show with the close captioning on.
- 29:44Speaker 2: He also referenced the choreography during your perio sola obviously
- 29:48Speaker 2: I don't speak Spanish, which he said featured overtly sexualized movements,
- 29:52Speaker 2: including widespread twerking, which you were doing it right, working is,
- 29:55Speaker 2: widespread grinding, pelvic thrusts, and oh and others sexually suggestive conduct.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Mm hmmm.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Did I I got none of that?
- 30:10Speaker 2: I mean I did I notice some some crotch grabbing. Yeah,
- 30:14Speaker 2: but you get that during a normal football game. And
- 30:18Speaker 2: and some of it wasn't like as direct crotch grabbing
- 30:22Speaker 2: the way that we grew up watching Madonna and Michael
- 30:25Speaker 2: Jackson do. It was more kind of like on the sides,
- 30:29Speaker 2: It's more like the groin area, you know. And I
- 30:34Speaker 2: didn't really see any actual torking, like what's oferking?
- 30:40Speaker 1: I mean, God bless them for it. It made you know,
- 30:42Speaker 1: if you didn't understand the lyrics, at least you kind
- 30:44Speaker 1: of understood that.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Yeah, you understood the show. You're like.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Hot hot Latina chicks dancing. Okay, yeah, I there's always
- 30:54Speaker 1: got to be one that's got to turn it, turn
- 30:56Speaker 1: it into a fucking circus.
- 30:57Speaker 2: And I just now I'm wondering maybe what happen and
- 31:00Speaker 2: was as he's watching the halftime show with the goal
- 31:03Speaker 2: of being outraged and titillated and you know, angry, maybe
- 31:08Speaker 2: he looked down and it was like, uh oh, I'm
- 31:12Speaker 2: visibly turned on and and Mama sitting next to me
- 31:15Speaker 2: just saw it, which means now I have to do
- 31:18Speaker 2: something to fix this.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I mean, there's always got to be one that's gonna
- 31:25Speaker 1: try to make a name for himself. I mean, because generally,
- 31:28Speaker 1: I think a lot of the response to Bad Bunny
- 31:33Speaker 1: was gonna be the same thing from people whether they
- 31:37Speaker 1: watched the show or not. People were gonna say, oh
- 31:39Speaker 1: my god, I loved it whatever, even though they may
- 31:41Speaker 1: not have understood a fucking thing. And the same side
- 31:44Speaker 1: as they didn't see it and they're like, oh my god,
- 31:46Speaker 1: it's an abomination.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 1: But then I think, after all, you know, that virtue
- 31:52Speaker 1: signaling went away. Everyone's like, okay, whatever and move on.
- 31:57Speaker 2: This is a halftime show.
- 32:00Speaker 1: And at a certain point, it's like, okay, it was fine.
- 32:03Speaker 1: It really there there was I mean, you know, we
- 32:08Speaker 1: didn't see Janet Jackson's teet, so who cares, it's still
- 32:16Speaker 1: gonna be.
- 32:17Speaker 3: He's just trying just.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Then, he's just trying to make a name for himself.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I mean, I hate you like Trump.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Trump released the statement the next day as well, where
- 32:27Speaker 3: he's like, kids were forced to watch It's almost verbatim.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Kids were you know, there were children at home that
- 32:32Speaker 3: had to watch these women gyrating.
- 32:34Speaker 2: And you know, it's not like you got a bunch
- 32:37Speaker 2: of you know, five year olds with clockwork orange goggles
- 32:40Speaker 2: on with their eyelids peeled up being forced to watch this.
- 32:44Speaker 2: That's not the case.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Just yeah, So he was just you know, he's just
- 32:49Speaker 3: trying to be in the same spotlight with.
- 32:53Speaker 2: And and and that's and that's we try to stay
- 32:55Speaker 2: away from some of this type of stuff. But at
- 32:57Speaker 2: the end of the day, it's like Trey said, it's
- 32:59Speaker 2: rich really not a big deal. And really what happens
- 33:03Speaker 2: is with these culture war situations is you make something
- 33:07Speaker 2: a bigger deal than it actually is, and in doing so,
- 33:12Speaker 2: you put a brighter spotlight on it, and at the
- 33:18Speaker 2: end of the day. That doesn't do anything positive for anybody.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Right, Members of Congress are the shoe salesmen of politics. Yes,
- 33:30Speaker 1: they're fucking worthless. They run every two years and either
- 33:34Speaker 1: they have a cushy gig and they will just get
- 33:36Speaker 1: reelected as long as they run, or else they have
- 33:39Speaker 1: to make a name for themselves. And this is both sides,
- 33:42Speaker 1: all of them. Oh yeah, and they they just do
- 33:49Speaker 1: some of the dumbest stuff to keep their name in
- 33:52Speaker 1: the news cycle.
- 33:54Speaker 2: And they're not even good shoe salesmen. It's not like
- 33:56Speaker 2: they're selling good shoes at like the Nike outlet or something.
- 33:59Speaker 2: These are like the like the shoe salesman at like
- 34:02Speaker 2: Kinney's in the mall in the eighties.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Yeah, when they want to start addressing their insider trading,
- 34:11Speaker 1: let's talk, yes.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Or an actual problem that Americans have.
- 34:17Speaker 1: No fuck it, I want an insider trading. Let's talk
- 34:20Speaker 1: about congressional insider trading and how they're all millionaires within
- 34:24Speaker 1: a couple of years.
- 34:27Speaker 2: On board with that, I would love that.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yeah, there's there is a fund that mirrors Nancy Pelosi's
- 34:34Speaker 1: trades and it's always up.
- 34:37Speaker 2: It's it does phenomenal the returns on it are insane,
- 34:44Speaker 2: but widespread torking and Andy Ogles from Tennessee has a
- 34:49Speaker 2: problem with it. Honestly, you know what, I take it back,
- 34:54Speaker 2: do the inquiry. I would love to see a nationally
- 34:57Speaker 2: televised congressional inquiry about a Super Bowl halftime show. Please
- 35:04Speaker 2: put your stupidity on display.
- 35:07Speaker 3: And I hope that Bunny answers every question in Spanish, which.
- 35:12Speaker 2: He is legally allowed to do, or he doesn't answer
- 35:17Speaker 2: the subpoena because it was in English.
- 35:20Speaker 1: No, even I hope, I hope this. This would be
- 35:24Speaker 1: the ultimate indignity for I hope he pleads the fifth
- 35:28Speaker 1: in Spanish.
- 35:34Speaker 6: Thinkle mm hmmm, sinkle thinko all he keeps saying, hey, hey, Sinkle.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Maybe I could just be his new song. God. Oh,
- 35:54Speaker 2: This is where I would typically say, you know what,
- 35:56Speaker 2: it's good that we don't have serious problems that we
- 35:59Speaker 2: get to worry about stuff like this, But we actually
- 36:02Speaker 2: do have serious problems and we're being distracted by nonsense.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Eh. Yeah, that's the that's the case. That's what they
- 36:10Speaker 3: want to do. They want to keep you distracted from
- 36:12Speaker 3: the actual problems that are happening.
- 36:14Speaker 2: So here's the shiny object to make you mad, don't
- 36:17Speaker 2: pay attention to all the other bad stuff over here.
- 36:20Speaker 3: And I didn't see any gay pornography or whatever it
- 36:25Speaker 3: was one of these other senators is trying to say
- 36:27Speaker 3: now as well.
- 36:28Speaker 2: And I saw like I saw, like very briefly in
- 36:31Speaker 2: the performance.
- 36:31Speaker 1: I saw I saw two guys look like they were kissing.
- 36:35Speaker 2: I don't I don't know if I saw that, but
- 36:37Speaker 2: I did see two guys like they were pretty close
- 36:39Speaker 2: to each other and they were obviously dancing on each other.
- 36:42Speaker 2: But they didn't even show them from the waist down.
- 36:43Speaker 2: It was from behind like a car door. But I
- 36:46Speaker 2: did catch my eye. I was like, I think that
- 36:48Speaker 2: was a couple of homies there. And then maybe one
- 36:50Speaker 2: other time in the performance, but it was nothing so
- 36:53Speaker 2: in your face, and I was like, hey, that's inappropriate.
- 36:59Speaker 1: It is. It is amazing that everyone gets so worked
- 37:03Speaker 1: up over a twelve minute show that is in the
- 37:08Speaker 1: middle book ended by twenty two men at a time
- 37:14Speaker 1: trying to kill each other.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Yeah, we're all watching these men get permanent brain damage.
- 37:26Speaker 2: But you know, someone shook it too vigorously.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Yeah. But also, I mean, like when you're in the
- 37:32Speaker 3: quarterback and you're not enough in the backfield. You're up
- 37:36Speaker 3: under somebody's junk, and so that should be that should
- 37:40Speaker 3: be morally confusing for.
- 37:41Speaker 2: That guy as well. I wonder if that's why they've
- 37:44Speaker 2: gone to more shotgun sets in modern football. At someone
- 37:49Speaker 2: at some point they're like, you know what, me and
- 37:52Speaker 2: Jeff aren't close enough for me to get in there.
- 37:55Speaker 3: Yeah, the center's got to be like very comfortable with
- 37:59Speaker 3: his sexuality. Yea, go ahead and put your hands under there.
- 38:08Speaker 2: The center is an amazing position in the NFL, so
- 38:12Speaker 2: much responsibility falls on you other than the quarterback. The
- 38:16Speaker 2: center touches the ball more than anybody and touches his Yeah,
- 38:24Speaker 2: and typically, and typically the guy on the field with
- 38:27Speaker 2: the biggest hands is the quarterback.
- 38:33Speaker 3: I mean they zoomed in. Uh, I can't remember its
- 38:36Speaker 3: first second quarter, but they zoomed in, and I was like, man,
- 38:39Speaker 3: that is you gotta be good friends. You've got to
- 38:44Speaker 3: be so close.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you're you're you're inviting each other's kids
- 38:49Speaker 2: over to birthday parties and stuff. And also there's there's
- 38:55Speaker 2: that relationship between quarterback and center that's called the silent count.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well he just slaps him on the butt.
- 39:05Speaker 2: No, No, that's obvious. Now. The silent count is when
- 39:08Speaker 2: you get under center and your hands go under and
- 39:11Speaker 2: you decide to do silent count. And what silent count
- 39:14Speaker 2: means is the quarterback's going to thump the center right
- 39:16Speaker 2: on the nut, and that means give me the ball. Yeah.
- 39:22Speaker 2: I don't know if maybe they've updated it in modern times,
- 39:25Speaker 2: but that was how that was how they did it
- 39:28Speaker 2: in you know, my day of football, and that's why
- 39:31Speaker 2: I didn't want to play center.
- 39:33Speaker 3: Yeah. Uh. And also calling it a silent count, it's
- 39:37Speaker 3: also like saying, hey, man, keep quiet about what I
- 39:39Speaker 3: just did. You will shut the fuck up.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Yeah. And that's the thing too, It's like you kind
- 39:49Speaker 2: of know when the play is coming because you don't
- 39:51Speaker 2: hear the quarterback say hut. Instead you hear this center
- 39:54Speaker 2: go ah and then off you go.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Try.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Did they teach it that way where you went to school? Yeah, see,
- 40:06Speaker 2: it's just it's a non thump and go. That's what
- 40:12Speaker 2: they should call it.
- 40:14Speaker 1: I wouldn't. I don't know about thump as more as
- 40:17Speaker 1: it was kind of a little that but.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Oh, a little tickle. It's a little tickle on the
- 40:22Speaker 2: on the boys under there, like here you go, hey, sweet.
- 40:24Speaker 2: It's almost like you're playing with a wind chime. Give
- 40:27Speaker 2: me the ball.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Yeah, that should be more offensive than anything Bad Bunny did.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but you don't see that on the broadcast. It
- 40:38Speaker 2: happens deep dark underbelly of the Center.
- 40:43Speaker 3: That's why they never interviewed the center. He just goes
- 40:45Speaker 3: straight to therapy.
- 40:47Speaker 2: He goes into the blue tint. Just start sharing his
- 40:50Speaker 2: feelings and show him the doll. This is where Drake
- 40:56Speaker 2: touched me.
- 40:57Speaker 1: That's why Jason Kelsey gets you know, takes his shirt
- 40:59Speaker 1: off and you have slams himself through tables.
- 41:03Speaker 2: He's not loving life. That's trauma reaction. That's trauma response.
- 41:09Speaker 2: That's him working through his issues.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Chris Farley of the NFL.
- 41:16Speaker 1: I got touched a lot.
