- Tre: How much money have you spent trying to become healthier? All right, welcome everybody to another another another week with the hosts with the most Timothy. And Johnny V, the tech genius is in the house. Jonny v: As my camera glitches. Tre: All right. So hey, we're gonna go ahead and jump into this because honestly, I want to apologize to each and every one of our viewers and listeners out there. On the last episode, we actually were experiencing some technical difficulties, not on our side, but you know, things happen, right? You know, internet doesn't work the right way. and and Arvinoush, she was a trooper, she went all the way through this, and we have to tip our hats to her showing up, imparting the knowledge that she did. so we wanted to still put it out there, and you know, we're gonna bring her back on so that we can give her her just due. And anyone who's watching, we just did not want to let that fall by the wayside because. This is life and it happens. Things are not gonna always be perfect, but we made the best out of what we had. And we're thankful. And so hopefully you were able to take away some great information from Arvanosh when it comes down to VA home loans and such like that. but yeah, stick with us. Stick around. We're gonna bring her back on. And Tim, Johnny, how are you guys feeling today? Tim-o-thy: It's Wednesday. Week's halfway done. I'm good. Jonny v: in the same boat. I'm pushing through and honestly it's been great. Tre: Great. With a capital G or a lowercase G? Jonny v: A capital G and T. Great. So do the tiger. There you go. I got I understood that one. Tim-o-thy: like Tony the Tiger. Great. Tre: Right? Hey, if you're Hey, if you're not doing it like Tony, it doesn't count. Johnny, you gotta do it just like Tony. Jonny v: I am great. Tre: There it is. I love it. We're gonna soundbite that, right? Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: Now I'm gonna go back and ask this question again. How much money have you guys personally spent trying to become healthier? Can you put a number to that? Tim-o-thy: I don't know if I want to put a number to that. I probably could. It would take me a while, but I don't want to put a number to that. Jonny v: I definitely Tre: Right. Jonny v: can, but I saying it out loud hurts a little bit. Yeah. Tre: But you you know what? If it hurts, maybe that's something that should be delved into on your personal side, right? That's something that, you know, if it hurts a little bit, it stings a little bit. And that's why we're having this conversation is Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: because we're trying to figure things out. We don't have the answers, right? None of us do. You you know how much you spent. it it stings a little bit. And let me ask you this, Johnny, since you can put a number to it. Is it in the hundreds? Jonny v: it's past the hundreds. Yeah. Tre: Okay, okay. So is it in the thousands? Jonny v: If I were to include my gym membership, yes, it definitely crosses crosses at multiple thousands. Tre: Okay. And and you know what? We're gonna definitely go into the nitty-gritty if you want to share in the full package. We'll go ahead and you know, really dive into things. I will say I've spent probably thousands as well, too. Tim-o-thy: Yeah. Tre: And this is even after going to some of those free, well, free ish, right? events where they give you some samples and everything, like the Arnold or whatever, you know, you're still spending money. These conventions Tim-o-thy: Yeah. Tre: anyway. Like I said, we're definitely gonna be touching on it. really diving into this and figuring out are we actually changing our habits or has getting healthy just become another thing that we're shopping for, that we're spending money on? You know, we're gonna talk about this because it's really, really important to kind of identify. And know the difference. You know, Tim-o-thy: Yeah. Tre: is this just a subscription-based service? Or is it doing something for me to actually help me get healthy? Is this just a fad, something for me to do? And like, ooh, this is cool. I've got a nice little tote bag. Ooh, I've got a shaker. I've got a shaker bottle. Or is it really going to help us? Tim-o-thy: You can never have too many of those. Jonny v: A thousand of them. Tre: Now you sound like my wife. and Tim, you do not look like her, but you sound like her right now. No, not with Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: the shaker bottles. That was really with the Starbucks cups. and I might have co-opted that as Tim-o-thy: Yeah. Tre: well, but that's a whole different topic. And I kind of feel like we're getting off topic again. Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: But you can have too many. You can have too many if you're not utilizing them for the intended purpose. And actually have it help you get healthy. is that your conscious calling, Johnny? Jonny v: yeah, it was. It was telling me to stop spending money on all this health conscious stuff. Tre: man. So I know that you said, Tim, that you really can't put a number to it. If you had to guesstimate, can you put a number to it? Tim-o-thy: I'm sure I would probably start more so when I joined the military and then moving on till now. So I mean heck, the last seventeen years, I mean, I'm sure well over ten thousand between equipment and memberships and food and supplements and going to things like the Arnold or just everything and All the fads, P ninety X, you name it, trying to, you know, do all the things at the time or the the big go to. yeah, it's I I'd hate to say that's probably close to about that. Tre: Yeah. and we're kind of in this situation. I I don't want to say a situation now, but I mean it has, you know, raised the awareness to for me to get healthier, to get more active. And that's the Conqueror challenge. I mean, that is a another expense. That is something that we're not sponsored. You know, we're paying for ourselves. And if you add that to it, it's just something, right? Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: the pressed juicery, the the pressed juices, those cleanses that you know that that I've been doing, those add up. It's not cheap. It is what it is. You know, in episode 17, we talked about our habits and our health journey and things that we're going to be doing, And It's one of those things where we have to stay consistent. Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: Consistency is key. A fad for fad's sake is just that. it's not going to do anything to help you. you're spending money, but if you're going to just stop it, then you're not really progressing, you know, and and you kind of just wasted money. you might have extended your your your life just a little bit, but you know, the whole goal is to let me do that again. Just a little bit. But the goal is to, you know, extend it a little bit longer. and and be happy with ourselves and and enjoy the bodies that we're in and in our mindset. Like we should just be happy. Johnny, what do you think, man? Jonny v: Well, I have to disagree with you on the whole just be happy 'cause the Well no, 'cause you Tre: Hey, hey, hey, did you take notes from your wife? Is that why you're disagreeing with me right off the bat? No, I love it. Jonny v: you man, like you better not clip this part now. She can't see this part I guess. Golly. Tre: this this'll be on just the tip. She will see this one. Jonny v: Nah I I hate disagreeing with the whole just especially when it comes down to fitness and being happy with your fitness. Like you you can't you Tre: I think I think I think you misunder understood me or misheard me Jonny v: Let's hear it. Tre: being happy with ourselves. Not happy with the fitness. You might not enjoy the fitness aspect, but the whole reason why we're doing the the fitness and wellness stuff is to be happy with ourselves, not specifically the motions. Now, do you still disagree with me? Jonny v: Kinda. Tre: Okay, keep going. Jonny v: Well because the the biggest downside and that I'm pretty sure you've I think I'm probably misunderstanding you but still it's like to be happy with yourself it's it's that whole nobody's perfect, right? And everyone's striving for perfection, but at the same time it's when you when you say, I'm happy with myself It it's like how what what field of measurement are you using at that time? am I happy that I am 180 pounds? It's not too bad. When you hear how everybody else says it and everything, it's still not bad, but like for myself, even though I'm getting more physically fit, I would still like to be a a lower weight. But I'm not gonna be happy about it because I feel like I look sickly when I get down to the weight that I actually wanna be at. But it's technically a healthier weight. Tre: Hmm. So, so I hear what you're saying, and I'm gonna disagree with you now. Yay! Taking a page out of your book. No, and you know what, I I say that and I'm saying that jokingly, right? I'm not really disagreeing with you. it's the measurement. What determines your happiness? And the number on the scale doesn't always determine the happiness for everyone. It's you know, happiness is a feeling, you know, and each and every single person has to determine that for themselves. What makes them happy? You know, if the weight that you're at, you're happy in that weight, like you feel good. That's a good thing. You're happy. I applaud you for being happy in your mind, in your soul. Now, for me, getting winded going upstairs or downstairs, going Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: on on board a navy ship and taking all those stairs or or a ramp helping somebody who's about to go on deployment and you know. So being happy, you Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: know, for me is Honestly, being as fit as I can be without killing myself, if that makes any sense. You know, I'm I'm not a gym head, I'm not a gym rat. for me, I just want to be comfortable in my own body. I'm not really looking at the scale. I mean, would want to be at a certain, you know, poundage weight, but like you said, you feel like you You look sickly if you're at that, specific number. I feel the same way, But I do know that the inches and everything like that has to come off. You know, it'll help with snoring and all the other things too that come along with, you know, having a little bit too much weight. so that's what makes me happy. So that's really what I'm saying is, you know, that you have to Think that we're all striving for that happiness, and it's all a personal choice and decision. Tim, what do you think? Since me and Johnny disagreed, not really agreed, but agreed, saying the same kind of thing, but not really. Tim, what do you think? Tim-o-thy: S so I will say your level of happiness is a scalable pun intended you know Jonny v: Ha ha. Tim-o-thy: area of focus because I could drop this weight, but I could still not be fit as in, you know, strength wise. So I could look healthy, I could look, you know, somewhat fit, but I'm not actually fit because I don't have the muscle mass or I don't have, you know, I haven't started you I've dieted, but I haven't kept up with aerobic. So I'm you know, out of breath easily for doing simple things or, you know, I haven't been, you know, doing simple weightlifting or you know, body training exercises. So, you know, picking up a fifty pound bag of something may be a little bit more of a struggle for me just because I haven't been I guess making equal changes from different fronts. And it's not just that stuff too, I look at it from a genetic standpoint of I remember I went to the police academy, I exercised, ate right, did all this stuff, still had elevated levels of, you know, X, Y, and Z. My cholesterol was still high. I still had this and that because of my genetics. And you can't out diet and out exercise genetics, unfortunately. So I don't want to put too much of an emphasis on having to do all of these things to say that I'm happy and healthy when, you know, we partake in, you know, a drink here and there or a cigar or doing these things that could be construed as unhealthy or, you know, detrimental to your health, depending on who you talk to. So I think it's just finding that equal balance of, you know, not doing anything to the extreme one way or the other. Tre: Yeah. So I'm gonna ask both of you, has there been any purchases that you've made that has actually helped you, you know, move forward in your health journey? Or has there been purchases that you've made that pretty much just collect dust? You know, we of those stories of people purchasing you know, ellipticals or or at home my gosh, I can't even think of the name of it. Treadmills. my gosh. I can't even think of it. Jonny v: I'm over here thinking you're thinking like cable machines or like the BoFlex or something. Yeah. Tim-o-thy: These these walking machines. Tre: No, but the treadmills. I I I do not like Jonny v: The things you just do you do this on of. Tre: running. Have I not mentioned that before? I despise running. Jonny v: I feel you yeah. Tre: I can't even think of the name that you run on. It's a treadmill. I despise running that much. But you know, I I've heard those stories of people making those type of purchases and then they just become clothes racks. Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: You know, have you guys made purchases like that? that pretty much have just collected dust or have you made some purchases recently that you've incorporated into your healthy lifestyle? Tim-o-thy: I've done both. So I think one thing that I can remember that collected dust was the and I can't remember the the name of the device off the top of my head, but it's the one where you basically lean over forward and do like back extensions for like your lower back. but Jonny v: okay. Tim-o-thy: you can also flip the other way to kind of utilize for crunches and that type of stuff. How many times I used that thing during the time that I had it? Not as many as I thought it was going to. So it ended up getting sold on either Facebook marketplace or something. On the flip side of that, my yes. Some. Not all, but some. Tre: So you made some of your money back? Okay. Okay. Okay. Tim-o-thy: on the flip side of that, my recent purchase of my bicycle, n unmotorized, just a manual bicycle, I've gotten a significant amount of use out of that. And granted, it it helps having the the kids to go biking around, you know, the areas with me as well, too. So That that's been a positive purchase that I've seen like a good ROI on. Tre: Now this bicycle. Is does it look like Pee Wee Herman's bicycle? Tim-o-thy: I tried to get one but they were all out of stock. Jonny v: He probably looks like it. Tim Tim being as tall as he is, he he probably looks like that. He's just the kids Tre: T-too. Jonny v: the reason he's saying Tim-o-thy: Hey hey guys, wait up. Jonny v: the reason he's saying that is because the kids start going faster and he goes, my god, I got you guys! Slow down! Tre: Johnny, have you made any purchases like this? Jonny v: yes, so luckily I wanna say it was a Facebook marketplace purchase of somebody that purchased it, let it collect dust, and then I came up on it. it was a weight rack. The full thing. They never put it together, it was still in a the whole cage. Tre: Like a cage? wow. Okay. Jonny v: they sold it to me for I believe eighty bucks. It was still in the box. And was like, Yeah, I got ten uses out of that thing. And then I realized the place I put it was the worst place ever. It not only collected dust like crazy because where it where it was getting hit, it was always getting hit with dust. So I was constantly cleaning it more than using it. And then the sun hit right on it. So I was always working out in the sun. I would get darker than I am now. But yeah, I ended up turning around that and selling that for about a hundred and fifty bucks. which wasn't like a come up or anything, because I use that same money to get a different one that collapses, and that's what I use now. But Tre: Hmm. Jonny v: yeah. But very good investment that you were saying what's one thing that for sure was like the best investment, weight belt. Because we're I didn't realize how much age actually does hit you. a weight lifting belt. It it's a latch, latching one. I used to think people in the gym that I when I seen those that it was the stupidest thing ever. I like, that's that's a fad. You need a fucking Tre: Ha ha. Jonny v: latch it and then after you're done. No, I've almost passed that where I needed to unlatch that real quick. And I had the Tre: Mm-hmm. Jonny v: one with the the Arnold style one where it just you know, the the Arnold belt style one where it has the holes. Yeah, and I almost passed out with that thing. So when I went to the lever one and again 'cause back then I was I I hate saying it back then it was so far away. I was lifting close to like four hundred and sixty pounds on squats. So Tre: Mm. Jonny v: yeah, I was pushing my body to its very absolute limit. So that that latching belt, man, chef's kiss. I still I still have the same one. Five years later, still using the same one. Tre: W and and I'm I'm laughing a little bit. Were were you watching our last video where I've said that a couple times, chef's kiss? Jonny v: No my I don't even know who got me saying stuff like that. I'm just just kids. Tre: Hey, subliminally it was me. Jonny v: Yeah, it was probably. It was probably through a taxi went chef's kiss and I just thought about it. Tre: No, no, no, you want to know which one it was? So Jonny v: Hm. Tre: we're gonna pivot just a little bit because I want to put it out there to everyone. We're currently watching a lot of the Marvel movies leading up to Doomsday. and it's called Countdown to Doomsday. And so we pick out certain movies that we're gonna watch. So we're currently in the lineup of it. So you've watched one of the older videos where we were talking about Logan. In X-Men Days of Future Past. Jonny v: yeah. Tre: And I was talking about him smoking a cigar coming out of the plane. And I said, Chef's kiss. Jonny v: Subliminal messaging, you're a thousand percent right. Yup. I think Tim-o-thy: There it is. Tre: And there it is. Jonny v: ex there Tre: So, you know, had to throw out that little promo in regards to the countdown to doomsday. Because, you know, we're going on with this right now, and anyone who wants to join along with us, it Airs live on YouTube or Twitch page. And then also we put it onto Facebook. I'm working on trying to get it into Instagram, but you know, for some reason they're just, you know, punching down on us. So I'll get that figured out. But we do have it active on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch. So student of life underscore CO, you can find us on either one of those. And we always start the movie at the same exact time. But if you join a little bit later, if we're already into the movie, we always give timestamps. You come into the chat and ask, hey, what time are you guys on now? And then we'll let you know exactly the minute and the second that we're at as well. Get your popcorn. there will be giveaways. We have done some giveaways already as well, too, but there Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: will be some bigger ones as long as you're participating. So that's the little promo. PSA that I wanted to put out there so that our community can continue to grow and enjoy being amongst like minded people. Johnny, what do you think about that? Jonny v: I'm excited. The only downside of me being not able to join is or my bad, the upside of me not being able to actually join you guys now is that you guys aren't gonna know if I'm commenting in there. I'm gonna I'm gonna have a Tre: Mm. Jonny v: sneaky hidden account or something. Yeah. Tim-o-thy: One of those anonymous ones. I like a Tre: yes, I like it. I like it. And who knows, that anonymous account might actually win a prize. But if it's found out that the host has won, you're disqualified. And we'll go to the next person. And Jonny v: Yeah. Damn. Tre: and I also want to put out, unfortunately, our first winner was international. And Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: unfortunately we cannot afford to keep shipping internationally, so we will be limiting the prize winnings to just the continental United States because that shipping was a little bit hefty for the first prize. Tim-o-thy: Yes. Tre: All right, so PSA done, moving back over to the topic at hand. You know, I've actually made purchases and before I talk about the purchases that has helped Let me talk about some purchases that my wife made that has collected dust. But I was the person to help, you know, lift the heavy treadmill. Maybe this is why I despise treadmills. We've had two treadmills Tim-o-thy: Yeah. Tre: since we've been married, and each one of those I've either, you know, helped with the lifting and or I put together or whatever the case may have been. in each. Time they've collected dust. I used it a couple times. I hate running. she used it probably less than I did, and we eventually got rid of them. we do have kettlebells. I'm actually going to start using those kettlebells for kettlebell workouts coming up soon. But something that is really, really helping me is my Apple Watch. I actually try Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: to close those rings. And that was a reason why I purchased the Apple Watch is because first of all, I enjoy Apple's ecosystem personally. it's kind of simplistic, but you know, it's becoming a little bit more Should I say conv not convoluted, but a little bit more intricate, if you will. how Android is definitely intricate and there's so many things that you can do with Androids and everything like that. Apple's starting to go that route, which it's kind of losing its appeal because I like that simplicity. but you know, closing of the rings, it's really, really good. Checking, heart rate, you know, all those sorts of things on my watch. So that has definitely helped. The Conqueror Challenge, that is also helping because ooh, I'm falling a little bit behind. my my intended pace, because I wanna close I want to close out this medal by a certain time. I'm like three or four miles behind my pace. I haven't done that since the first one. I'm now working on my fourth one now because I've closed out the arc reactor. I've closed out the Not the winter soldier, but y what is it called, Tim? Captain Captain America. Tim-o-thy: gosh. Super soldier. Tre: Super soldier. Jonny v: Big soldier. Tre: Okay. Close out the super soldier. And I've closed out Black Panther's Wakanda. as well too. And currently right now I'm working on Wanda Maxmouth's Sc Tim-o-thy: Scarlet Witch. Tre: The Scarlet Witch. I'm working on that one right now, which I want to have that done by Halloween. Because it only makes sense, right? Which season? Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: So those are things that are working for me and certain things that have not worked for me. tons of, you know, supplements. I've used, my gosh, I can't even, I used to live by these multivitamins. They came in a yellow and black Animal, the animal packs. Tim-o-thy: the animal packs. Yep. Tre: I used to love those when I was actually working out and I was hitting the gym and stuff like that. Like it I mean, it felt like it was doing wonders for my body. Who really knows? Tim-o-thy: P out most of it. Jonny v: For me it going off of those little supplement things, for me it was the what is it called? The little gummies for Gatorade. man, I was killing those like like candy. And it Tim-o-thy: yeah. Jonny v: yeah, they they don't do anything for you. Tre: Hm. Wait, do they still make those? Jonny v: I stopped buying I r I really Tim-o-thy: Y I think they do. I think I've seen I've never bought to try. Jonny v: thought they were kind of like a pre workout thing where they would give you like hits of energy. Nah. Mm mm. Tre: Was it just do you feel like it was boosting up your sugar? And that's where you Jonny v: Definitely. Tre: were probably getting the energy from? Is that sugar increase? Hmm. Jonny v: Mm-hmm. Yeah, because at one point in time it tells you you should take one every twenty or thirty minutes. And at one point in time I like, let's see if I take two, what happens then? Took two, didn't do much. The only thing that I felt was like the acid reflux more not acid reflux. The the shit you build up in your muscles. Just the lactic acid, yeah. Tre: Lactic acid. and and I do want to put this PCA out the PSA, PCA. P S P Jonny v: You're just trying to make me feel better, aren't you? Tre: Well no, I want to make sure everyone knows that we are not medical professionals. We are talking about health and wellness. Do your own research, talk to a medical provider if you have any questions about any supplements or anything like that we cannot give Jonny v: Yeah, definitely. Tre: and are not giving medical advice. What temp? Here it is. Tim-o-thy: I got my doctor license on WebMD. Jonny v: And mine's printed out right now. Like it has a little bit of smudges because it's the ink's wet, but it works. Tre: Just because you're doing your investigative reporting and trying to figure out about Doctor Doom does not make you a Doctor Tim. It does not transfer that way. Tim-o-thy: I won't call myself Victor anymore. Tre: No, no. Victor Von Doom. Jonny v: Bon doom. Tre: But you know, yeah, so so I think that you were probably keeping them in business, Gatorade, with those gummies and not sponsored. No. Jonny v: Not sponsored. Not can't claim that one, nope. Tre: No. But you said you no longer take those because of you didn't feel like it was doing anything for you and you were popping Jonny v: It Tre: them like candy. Jonny v: yeah, just eating like candy at one point in time. Tre: Hmm. So do you take any multivitamins or pre workout now? Jonny v: Nothing right now, yeah. Everything I'm off of everything for or due to doctor's orders. See I g listen to your doctors people. I know I know some medical stuff because we used to be corpsmen. Listen to your doctors still. They they help you out. Tre: And that's a key word is that we used to be Corman. you used to be a Corman, Johnny. I used to be a Corman as well. Tim was one of those guys that just checked your IDs at the front gate. Jonny v: With that sideways salute and everything, huh? Go ahead guys. Tre: But but definitely listen to your your doctors now because we are not medical professionals licensed. but you know I think that One of the beautiful things about life is that we live and we learn. Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: You know, we we we we live and we learn if we choose to, you know. and it's that choice in wanting to do better or grow, you know, that makes this life kind of beautiful, you know. I mean, I I've learned so much about myself and just communicating and with other people with with my spouse, right? I I've learned patience, 10 years, 10 years into this marriage, and and not saying that things are perfect whatsoever, but you have to pay attention to the failures. And is it truly a failure if you're learning from it? You know, you have to pay attention to those successes as well, what did you do right? And this health journey, and I'm only speaking for myself right now, Tim and Johnny. This health journey is something that I'm still learning from. And I'm so thankful that I have you guys along the ride with me. because you guys are motivating me to do better. And so I wanna thank both of you on camera and say that. Thank you. Tim-o-thy: Yeah, it's a two way street. we w that's we're we're accountability buddies for, you know, this health journey. Jonny v: Billa buddies. Tim-o-thy: South Park reference. I know. Tre: I got that reference. Jonny v: I did not Tim-o-thy: Google it later. Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: Johnny, Johnny, Johnny. So Johnny, we we understand that we had to lose you with the Conqueror Challenge, but when you're able to rejoin us, or you know, that that's the beautiful thing about, you know, this the Conqueror Challenge, right? We will you go at your own pace, first and foremost. This is not a race unless you really want to make it a race in a competition with one another. That's a choice, you know. The way that we set this up is that we're working on ourselves individually. And life happens and everything like that. And then we just stick with each other and and we motivate each other and help out each other where we can. So whenever you're ready to get back on the Conqueror challenge, I found one that specifically spoke to me to speak to you. And it's the Jesus trail. Yes. And and this and I did not pre-plan me talking about this. This literally happened before we came on camera. Jonny v: You're looking at him and you're just like, Jesus. Tre: And he's like, yes. but anyway, so you know, I I'm looking, I'm doing the you know, research and everything like that, and I see the Avengers series, and my whole plan was just to talk about like how many miles each one of these are and everything, and and the average cost. And so I see the Avenger series and it says it's a total after you complete all one, two, three, four, five, six. Tim-o-thy: Six. Tre: Yes, because it's five plus one. so after you complete all six challenges, it's a total of six hundred and seventy-two miles. Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: Yes, that's a lot of miles. Jonny v: That is. Tre: And and and and we're rushing to get to the end point, right? To to try to finish it up. That that's the mentally, it's like, I I want to get done with this one so I can move on to the next one and collect the next stone for the Avenger series. And then I look right over to the right of the Avenger series. And it's the Jesus trail. That right there, that speaks to anyone who's a Christian or or you know believes in Jesus Christ. And 39 miles on that one. That's all you have to do, is 39 miles. And you can get that actual medal. And they have so many other challenges out there. And we're not sponsored by Jonny v: Yet. We gotta say, yeah. Come on. Maybe one day. Tre: Thank you for speaking it into existence, Johnny. but yes, they have so many different ones on here. they have the Star Wars series, Toy Story series, Rome City, yes, Tim-o-thy: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. Tre: dinosaur series, you know, for kids who like dinosaurs or people who like dinosaurs. Anthro anthropologists, Tim-o-thy: Yes. Tre: I think they're called. Wasn't that what Ross was in Friends? Jonny v: Ha ha ha. Tre: The Mandalorian series, Route 66. And Route 66, believe it or not. So I'm looking at Route 66. That's one medal. Two thousand two hundred and eighty miles you have to do to get the Route 66 medal. Jonny v: Also it's tracking the entire route sixty si dang, Tre: Correct. Jonny v: that's what's up. Tre: That that right there and and just looking at that metal, it screams America two fifty. Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: So anyway, like I said, this has definitely motivated me. This has been a great investment into myself because I'm actively wanting to continue to move more because it's more than just walking or running. Tim-o-thy: yeah. Tre: You know, you can do anything that's active, whether it's kayaking, yoga. I think we talked about that. Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: And how I was able to finish one of mine. and I'm doing a lot of talking now. So, Johnny, Tim, either one of you want to talk about some a little bit deeper into some of the Jonny v: Well let's honestly it's you you said a lot, which is cool, but it comes down to one of the biggest thing I'm pretty sure we can all agree on, how people ask you, Well, can you put a price tag on your health? You know, Tre: Mm. Jonny v: this granted, you know not everyone can afford things like this, but if you are willing to if you're looking for something else To motivate you. Cause I'm a true believer true believer that motivation does come with it from within. Quoting the great Chief Kaneshiro there. This is still another little thing right there that what have Chief Kanashiro? He was he was one of my chiefs. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he used to beat the shit out of me, Tre: Chief Who? Sorry. Chief Kanashiro. okay, okay. Jonny v: yeah. Tre: I I'm gonna be honest with you. I thought it was like some sort of philosopher or like an Indian chief. Correct. Correct. Jonny v: Yeah. Tim-o-thy: A Native American chief? Yes. That's where I was thinking. Tre: Okay, keep going. Jonny v: Yeah. But yes, going back to it, yeah, you should if it if you need something, if you need a little bit more of a push, a little bit more of something, 'cause I'm pretty sure everyone sees the ads that yeah, and at the end of this you could get Yeah, the metals are fucking cool. They're wicked, like they're they're not this cheap plastic, nothing. They're an actual like you if you hit somebody with them, you're gonna make some damage kind of thing. But at the same time, again, If you need a little bit something, you look at your phone, you're like, I didn't do any steps today. That gets you that gives you that much more motivation to actually get up and go at least take steps. Because, like you were saying, Trey, you could do weightlifting, you can do kayaking, you can do underwater basket weaving. I don't know. It's probably on there somewhere. You don't get that reference either? No? my god. Tre: get that one. I I didn't get that one. Underwater basket weaving. Okay. Jonny v: Underwater yeah. Did we did we join the navy at two different times? That was one of their jokes back in the day. This is that you you could probably even do this job being an underwater basket weaver. No? Tre: So I I was greenside. I was a greenside corpsman, so Jonny v: Save. You know what? Anybody that's watching Tre: Are you sure? Jonny v: this that was in the military, if you remember that phrase, please just tell Trey that he's just being uncultured right now. Tre: I c I lightweight remember it, but I don't want to say yes, I remember it, 'cause I don't fully I I would be lying if I say yes for sure I remember it. Tim-o-thy: I thought you for sure would have gotten that achievement medal. Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: All right. So move so moving on. Jonny v: Ha ha ha. Tre: one thing I will say is that if anyone feels that you have to pay for and this is my takeaway on this, and and I'm getting so far ahead of it because I want people that's only watching just the tip to be able to hear this. If you want a little bit of motivation, I heard what you said, Johnny. It starts from within, right? Motivation starts from within. Sometimes people need that assist just to get started, and then they find that motivation, like, I can do this, right? They get excited that, I can do this, and then they start motivating themselves. So if you need that assistance or you want to join us in our journeys. And maybe that might be able to help you because you feel like you don't have anyone that you can be accountable with. We are here with you. Send us Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: a send us a private message. Follow us on Instagram. Send us a private message. Find us on Facebook, student of life underscore C O. And we will be your accountability buddies. Because we're one Tim-o-thy: Yes. Tre: community. And and just the way that, my friends, they help motivate me and push me to be better and do better. I want to make sure that everyone has that same support that we all have with one another here. So it costs you nothing. It is free. Just send us a message and say, hey. how far did you guys walk today? I plan on doing a walk. Or is there something that I could do, you know, just to get a little bit more active? Well, what do you have s around your house? You know, if you just need to do some push-ups, body weight exercises, just Tim-o-thy: Anything. Tre: do some s push-ups and crunches, do do some my gosh, what's what's the one? Squats. my gosh, I can't even think. Air Jonny v: Ha ha ha Tre: punches, yeah. You know? Hey, Johnny. You weren't here for it, but we meditated, with Devon A. Yeah, Jonny v: okay. Tre: yeah. So so so we did some meditation in some previous episodes with Devon A. And I am not a personal trainer, but the same way that she did for us, I want you to do right now with us, Johnny, okay? We're we're gonna do some air punches. Ready? Jonny v: Okay. Tre: Ready? Punch, Tim-o-thy: Yeah. Tre: punch, punch. Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: How does that feel, guys? Getting a little bit active right here. That's all. You know, you're inside of your own house. Just little things like that, you know, shaking it off a little bit, you know, dancing a little bit. Intentional. Tim-o-thy: Pull out your samurai. Start doing some swings. Tre: But the intentional movement and everything like that can also be a form of exercising. Intentional body movements. Because that was one thing that Devonet had even brought Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: up as well. Is moving with intent, And it it costs you nothing to do that. Put on some music and just get active. Get active. Do the Elaine, if you will. Devonet should laugh at Jonny v: Yeah. Tre: that one. Tim-o-thy: Yeah. Tre: I'm glad you brought up that point, Johnny, about the financial impact because that was something that we were going to be discussing a little bit later as well, too. so I'm glad you brought it up so that people in just the tip, they could hear we are there for them. Now, moving back, on track. Mail delivery services. Have either one of you used any mail delivery services? prepared mills or anything like that? You okay. You do meal prepping yourself, huh? Nice. Okay. Jonny v: No. I'm I'm pretty good at meal prepping. Yeah. Yeah. Half it. Yeah. Tre: I I've I I don't want to say wasted money because it's it's convenience. Let's just get down to the brass brass Jonny v: It it really is, yeah. No, I've Tim-o-thy: Yeah, it's not. Tre: tax. Jonny v: I've met plenty of people that well when I was in the military actually, I used to meal prep all the time. But it was like broke boy meal preps. Like the the basic what's gonna give me my carbs, what's gonna get me my protein, Tre: Rice chicken. Jonny v: rice, chicken, veggies, broccoli, Tim-o-thy: Yep. Jonny v: basics, basics. but I've I had Other sailors or Marines there that would ask me, Hey, where do you where'd you buy that from? And I was like, No, I do this myself and they would offer, Hey, next time we get we come together, well I'll pay you for meal prep and I couldn't I couldn't bring myself to do it. I couldn't bring myself to charge my own family to be doing stuff like that. Tim-o-thy: Yeah, I've it's tough 'cause like Trey said too, with the convenience aspect of it. you know, especially if you're busy, you have kids, you have you know, busy schedule, dogs, you you have extracurricular things going on, all of these things. It's it is easy. And I remember growing up and having like Schwann's delivery or you know, one of the other ones that would deliver the frozen foods to your house, but then you'd still have to cook that and portion it out and do all of it. But I think with these ones, and I think Trey can correct me if I'm wrong, but, you know, they're they're portioned for like breakfast, lunch and dinner for like certain meals, and then you get certain aspects if you want like higher protein or different types of ratios of all the stuff that's in it. Tre: Yeah. So one of the major meal prep services that I've used is factor was it factor 75 or factor 47? Trying to remember. I did not actually pull it up. but factor mills is one that I utilize. Factor 75, that's what it is. And you know, you can go in and select your actual meals, and they g have dietary, style meals. So if you're ha if you have a gluten allergy, or if you're looking to just do keto, or if you want to just do low carb or if you're a vegetarian, you know, they they have all of these types of meals that you can get and and put those into your preferences. But then you can actually select which meals that you like better. Than the others, Tim-o-thy: Mm. Tre: and then they will just give you those specific meals. they're always running specials, and and once again, we're we're not advocating because we're not sponsored. we're just speaking from our own personal experience here. they are always running deals on this, and the deals are usually really good starting out. Tim-o-thy: How long have you been Tre: And then after Tim-o-thy: using for? Tre: Off and on I've used them probably for about off and on about four years. Tim-o-thy: Okay. Tre: Four to five years. Cause I think I've sent you like some links and stuff like that too, 'cause I could send, you know, friends boxes and everything like that. And hey, if I'm getting something, I want to send something if they offer that for free Tim-o-thy: Yeah. Tre: for my friends. But usually, like I said, the discounts are pretty good, the discounts are, and then, you know, it goes up. So then you have to weigh if you want to continue it or not, because you might be priced out. Tim-o-thy: Mm. Tre: kinda like what Johnny had brought up earlier is the fact of You have to weigh if the cost Is worth it for you, Johnny said that he he meal preps. I mean, it's easy to do. I mean, easier to do, I should say. the cost of everything, though, right now, Tim-o-thy: Mm-hmm. Tre: the meal prep might not be as cheap as it once was compared to getting the meal prep service. And so that's things that I've been looking at as well and trying to decide if The convenience, paying for the convenience is cheaper than just doing it myself. Tim-o-thy: Yeah, I think for me it's a lot more difficult because th both kids will go through like these periods where they're liking something, but then they won't like something. So trying to figure out what works and what doesn't work and you know, I try to still like when it comes to dinners and breakfasts, like incorporate, you know, proteins and fruits, veggies, you know, all of the core, you know, fundamentals when it comes to stuff for their diet. Tre: What did little Dicky say? No fruits or vegetables? Tim-o-thy: That wouldn't fly here. Tre: Ha ha Tim-o-thy: Looks like I can't have little Dicky here. Tre: No, no, no. And we're talking about the rapper Lil Dickie, from the show Dave, but before Dave on Hulu and FX, he was a rapper. He's a he's a rapper. Tim-o-thy: Yes. Yeah. fair. But it it's it it's tough trying to like figure out that balance 'cause I like to take them to the store with me and have them pick out things that I know they're gonna eat and make it known like, hey, we need to focus on eating healthier because it keeps me accountable knowing that I'm keeping them accountable as well too, and setting a a better example for them when it comes to like health and wellness. So, you know, we'll go there and of course, you know, we'll get some like snacks and some, you know, treat related things, whether it's some cookies or whatnot. But the end of the day, like that's a huge focus between, you know, the three of us here is trying to eat as healthy as we can while not overdoing it and still being able to indulge every so often in some sweets or a treat. you know, 'cause like I said, I don't wanna completely, you know say, you can't have anything whatsoever. We're only gonna eat healthy stuff and only this. No, that's that's not fair to them because if I find myself having something every so often, then, they should be able to as well too. Tre: Yeah. So, you know, we are going a little bit longer on our just the tip episodes because I feel that there's more information that should be shared with the masses. Tre: you know, hey, go ahead and join the live and be a part of this discussion. You know, it's kind of interesting to see these movies through the lens of navigating to doomsday. Because now we know that doom is coming in December. And we will be having a doom sized giveaway in December as well, too. We also are running other giveaways during the watch parties. So Friday nights from 6 PM Pacific Standard Time, 9 PM Eastern Standard Tim-o-thy: Eastern. Tre: Time.
