- 0:00Speaker 1: Why do I need an app to hate up my coffee?
- 0:02Speaker 1: It's one more thing.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I'm one more thing.
- 0:07Speaker 3: There's an app for that.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I was getting so angry at my new microwave last night.
- 0:13Speaker 3: But before that, this, oh, just a little fun nugget.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I go to the gym.
- 0:20Speaker 3: I hear, Hey, thank you so much. I'm trying to
- 0:24Speaker 3: go to the gym as much as possible. Okay, And
- 0:26Speaker 3: the people that I work out with, I wouldn't consider
- 0:28Speaker 3: them friends. They're I see them daily, but their acquaintances,
- 0:33Speaker 3: you know, we would we wouldn't make kind of like
- 0:35Speaker 3: insulting jokes to each other. This chick the other day
- 0:39Speaker 3: comes up to me and in front of the entire class, goes, damn, Katie,
- 0:45Speaker 3: your boobs look like they're about to explode. Wow, And
- 0:50Speaker 3: I went, yeah, I'm aware, And then she doubled down
- 0:53Speaker 3: and said, no, like really, I'm having trouble making eye
- 0:55Speaker 3: contact with you. They're just they're they're out of control. Well,
- 1:00Speaker 3: so what the hell I swear to all that is
- 1:03Speaker 3: holy as a guy, I don't know, is this the
- 1:05Speaker 3: sort of thing that women ever say to each other?
- 1:08Speaker 1: I don't know this.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I mean, if you're good friends, it is probabah.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I mean, I could see myself joking around if one
- 1:15Speaker 3: of my friends was pregnant, and that I'd say, well,
- 1:18Speaker 3: I can see the boobs are about to explode. One
- 1:21Speaker 3: because I've been there. Two I'm close to you. But
- 1:25Speaker 3: I mean, for starters, my coaches jaw almost fell off
- 1:28Speaker 3: of her face because it was loud enough for her
- 1:29Speaker 3: to hear it. And my dad was standing like.
- 1:37Speaker 2: That's a jackass right there. So I'm ready to diagnose
- 1:41Speaker 2: a clear case of jack assidy. Was she angry?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Did she want you to do something about it?
- 1:46Speaker 2: So she was threatened?
- 1:49Speaker 3: I don't, I don't know. I'm I'm trying to figure
- 1:53Speaker 3: out what it is about being pregnant that makes people
- 1:56Speaker 3: think like, oh, I'm just gonna say the dumbest thing
- 1:59Speaker 3: that I can. I've been told that my beer belly's
- 2:01Speaker 3: coming in nicely, so I I don't.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I get it?
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah, hilarious, souh. Anyway, just a psa that if you
- 2:10Speaker 3: know somebody pregnant and you don't know them that, well,
- 2:12Speaker 3: just shut up.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Let them bring it up. Yes, it's gonna come up
- 2:16Speaker 1: at all perfect Yeah.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah, boy. I hate the idea of crossing boundaries like that.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I'm just mortified by the very idea of it.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Yeah, and I I reacted playfully because I'm not gonna
- 2:30Speaker 3: I don't have the energy for that kind of drama.
- 2:33Speaker 3: But it was the back of my mind was going,
- 2:35Speaker 3: what the fuck?
- 2:37Speaker 1: The dad being so close by is definitely an added
- 2:41Speaker 1: level of uncomfortable because nobody wants that.
- 2:43Speaker 2: No.
- 2:44Speaker 1: See, I'm just the opposite.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I'm extra sensitive and make sure that I don't say
- 2:48Speaker 2: anything bad.
- 2:49Speaker 1: You know I do too.
- 2:51Speaker 3: But for some reason, man, you you get pregnant and
- 2:55Speaker 3: everybody's like, here I come with the comments.
- 2:59Speaker 2: It's funny. I wouldn't worry about the dad thing so much.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I mean, pregnant wife and raised a child and the.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Rest of touch. I'm not talking about some dad's daughter's
- 3:10Speaker 1: pregnant boob. Somebody's boobs in front of their dad, well,
- 3:13Speaker 1: I'm not gonna talk about them period.
- 3:14Speaker 2: But yeah, they address you first.
- 3:19Speaker 1: What do you think of my boobs?
- 3:20Speaker 3: For instance, they're about to explode?
- 3:25Speaker 2: Eh, you know big they are? Okay if I've gotta yeah, yeah, craziness.
- 3:31Speaker 1: So let's take away. We don't make any comments on
- 3:33Speaker 1: two pregnant people about their pregnancies.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I mean, you can ask how they're doing and all that,
- 3:39Speaker 3: but like body comments, yeah, I know everything's changing and
- 3:45Speaker 3: it's crazy.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Yeah. So my microwave put on me a week ago
- 3:53Speaker 1: and then I went through a whole weekend without a microwave,
- 3:54Speaker 1: and I didn't realize how much I used the microwave
- 3:56Speaker 1: until I didn't have it, Just like heating up a
- 3:59Speaker 1: cup of coffee that's on a little cold or whatever
- 4:01Speaker 1: the heck it is. And it's annoying not having a microwave.
- 4:04Speaker 1: So I got a new one, did a little research
- 4:05Speaker 1: on chat, GPT and whatever. Like that fancy microwave that
- 4:08Speaker 1: Panasonic makes. It's a combo air fryer microwave thingy. It's
- 4:15Speaker 1: supposed to be really great, but it did mention in
- 4:17Speaker 1: all the reviews that while it is fantastic, it's got
- 4:20Speaker 1: a bit of a learning curve on the user interface.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I am a big UI guy. I think that's one
- 4:27Speaker 1: of the biggest deficits we've got in America right now.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And if you're good at UI urinary infection user interface.
- 4:35Speaker 1: People who are in UI, I mean, you can make
- 4:37Speaker 1: a ton of money if you're good at it. Getting
- 4:39Speaker 1: hired by Tesla or Apple or whoever it's this. We've
- 4:43Speaker 1: always We've talked about this in the past with engineers
- 4:45Speaker 1: Joe and I have in the radio business. They talk
- 4:47Speaker 1: an engineer speak, and like computer experts, they talk in
- 4:50Speaker 1: computer They don't talk away about like they can't look
- 4:53Speaker 1: at things the way somebody who just sat down at
- 4:55Speaker 1: this for the first time and has never looked at it.
- 4:58Speaker 1: They don't have the ability to see it through that lens.
- 5:01Speaker 1: People that are really good at UI can That's one
- 5:03Speaker 1: of the reasons apples so good. They must have really
- 5:06Speaker 1: great Maybe Steve Jobs was just a natural UI genius
- 5:09Speaker 1: to understand how like a person who's never touched this
- 5:11Speaker 1: before would think about it as opposed to having to
- 5:15Speaker 1: go through anyway. So Panasonic did a horrible job on
- 5:18Speaker 1: this microwave. And I'm not good at this sort of
- 5:20Speaker 1: thing to start with. But it's just the menu on
- 5:23Speaker 1: this thing to try to figure out, just to like,
- 5:26Speaker 1: I just want to heat up this coffee for thirty seconds.
- 5:29Speaker 1: That should to me, that should be intuitively. You could
- 5:33Speaker 1: walk up to it I never seen it before in
- 5:34Speaker 1: your life and figure it out. It should be designed
- 5:36Speaker 1: that way. Yeah, you shouldn't need to read any instructions
- 5:39Speaker 1: to heat something up for thirty seconds in my opinion,
- 5:43Speaker 1: But yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Clearly because I've got similar devices and they don't have
- 5:46Speaker 2: that problem. You got a little tab this is micro right,
- 5:50Speaker 2: or you know, you can just hit plus thirty and
- 5:52Speaker 2: it starts.
- 5:52Speaker 1: This one had has so many different screens and knobs
- 5:55Speaker 1: and things that you've got to do to do everything,
- 5:57Speaker 1: and it's really annoying. But what it's suggests is the app.
- 6:01Speaker 1: You download the app and you do everything from your phone,
- 6:06Speaker 1: And isn't that obviously a data grab? Isn't that the
- 6:09Speaker 1: whole reason they want you to do it is that
- 6:11Speaker 1: I'm sure the agreement when I click on I agree
- 6:14Speaker 1: is and we get to look at every keystroke on
- 6:15Speaker 1: everything you ever do for the rest of your life,
- 6:17Speaker 1: so that you can heat up your coffee from your phone.
- 6:20Speaker 2: That's why Nest exists and ring exists. All of that
- 6:23Speaker 2: stuff is a data grab.
- 6:26Speaker 3: So does this thing not have like a thirty second button?
- 6:29Speaker 1: No, No, it doesn't have any easy thing like that.
- 6:32Speaker 1: But the main thing was that I kept running into
- 6:34Speaker 1: and I had my son come down because he's better
- 6:36Speaker 1: at this sort of stuff. It's like, can you figure
- 6:37Speaker 1: out how to turn this thing off and open the door.
- 6:39Speaker 1: It wouldn't let you, well, originally, it wouldn't let you
- 6:42Speaker 1: open the door, like a lot of microwaves until it's off,
- 6:45Speaker 1: because you don't want it open with microwaving your your
- 6:49Speaker 1: body or and I would get it started, and I couldn't.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Figure I would get it started, and I couldn't figure
- 6:57Speaker 2: out how to turn the damn thing off.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Most micro if you open the door, it turns it off. Yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 1: so that's how I would turn That's why I turn
- 7:04Speaker 1: off lots of micros. I just said it to whatever.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Five minutes. When I think it's been long enough, I
- 7:08Speaker 1: opened the door, and I take out my coffee and
- 7:09Speaker 1: drink it.
- 7:10Speaker 3: I like to try to open it right before the
- 7:11Speaker 3: buzzer goes.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Off because I hate the dings. That's one of the
- 7:14Speaker 1: reasons that I do it that way. I don't like
- 7:15Speaker 1: hearing all the dings. But this thing, I couldn't. You
- 7:18Speaker 1: couldn't open the door until it's timed out its entire thing,
- 7:22Speaker 1: and I haven't had to keep on plugging it to
- 7:25Speaker 1: get to able to get the door open. So I'd
- 7:27Speaker 1: pull it out to the wall and unplug it so
- 7:29Speaker 1: it'd be off. So I could open the door this.
- 7:33Speaker 2: This thing and you had to call your offspring down.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Oh do I turn this off?
- 7:40Speaker 1: So he figured out some way, and I don't know
- 7:41Speaker 1: how he did this. Were microwaving something to heat it up,
- 7:45Speaker 1: and I was say, I'm gonna unplug it to try
- 7:47Speaker 1: it because it's been heat and running for a long time.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna plug. He said, no, I think if you
- 7:50Speaker 1: do this, and he opened the door and it's still running.
- 7:53Speaker 1: The microwave is still microwaving with the door open.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I have a lot.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Then I unplugged it that I probably have cancer.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Now is there something There's got to be something wrong
- 8:02Speaker 3: with it.
- 8:02Speaker 1: If that's something wrong with me, I'm sure it's operator error.
- 8:05Speaker 3: But wow, I've never heard of a microwave that continues
- 8:09Speaker 3: to run with the doors at the door.
- 8:11Speaker 1: There's something wrong. I felt a tuber growing on my
- 8:13Speaker 1: brain or.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Was it doing another one of its functions.
- 8:16Speaker 1: That'd be a tumor not a tuber?
- 8:17Speaker 2: Huh, Like it was doing air fry.
- 8:20Speaker 1: It almost had to be set on convention or air fry,
- 8:23Speaker 1: and I had it completely wrong. But or convection? Is
- 8:26Speaker 1: that what it is?
- 8:26Speaker 3: Convention or a convention?
- 8:30Speaker 2: In case you want to meet your colleagues in the oven.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Yes, I I'm a the reason I like Tesla and Apple.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I think everything should be intuitive. It's obvious the way
- 8:43Speaker 1: you do this, you just walk up to it. I've
- 8:45Speaker 1: never looked at any instructions on Apple. It just I
- 8:48Speaker 1: can open the computer, I can do whatever I want,
- 8:50Speaker 1: all that sort of stuff. But other products, man, they
- 8:53Speaker 1: want you to read a book and go on YouTube
- 8:56Speaker 1: and all kinds of things, just to do the simplest tasks.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, and lately I had high, high hopes that
- 9:03Speaker 2: AI would take care of this. Maybe it will soon,
- 9:05Speaker 2: but asking, hey, I can't do this on my computer,
- 9:09Speaker 2: how should I do it? And it'll say, oh, that's easy.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Just go to file, click on that, then open function
- 9:17Speaker 2: and you click on file. There's no effing function anywhere
- 9:21Speaker 2: that was updated six years ago, or six months ago
- 9:25Speaker 2: or six minutes ago. But yeah, it's impossible to get
- 9:28Speaker 2: accurate up to date based on your operating system instructions.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Well, I broke out the manual, which I almost never do.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I'm just a big I'm a big. If I can't
- 9:39Speaker 1: figure it out, I'm taking it back. I want it
- 9:41Speaker 1: to be stupid simple everything I use, and most of
- 9:45Speaker 1: that's why by apples come. But I actually broke out
- 9:49Speaker 1: the manual, and this has happened in recent times. I
- 9:52Speaker 1: think I don't know exactly if it's to save money.
- 9:55Speaker 1: It's almost entirely pictures with no words. I guess that
- 9:59Speaker 1: way they can send it to every country with one
- 10:03Speaker 1: manual without having to have English, German, friends, Spanish, whatever.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I guess it's cheaper. But you can't figure out what's
- 10:09Speaker 1: going on from the pictures, or they're trying to drive
- 10:12Speaker 1: me to the app. They're hoping it's frustrating enough that
- 10:15Speaker 1: I download the app and then bingo, then they've really
- 10:17Speaker 1: made their money. They've made more money than I spent
- 10:20Speaker 1: on the than the microwave, probably immediately when I download
- 10:25Speaker 1: the app.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Almost certainly, the most frustrating things for me is when
- 10:28Speaker 3: I go to a manual to try to figure out
- 10:30Speaker 3: something and there's an fing QR code.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, yeah.
- 10:34Speaker 2: They want you to go to the website because they
- 10:35Speaker 2: don't want to print and distribute manuals, which I get it.
- 10:37Speaker 2: I mean, economically speaking, it's no brainer. But I like
- 10:41Speaker 2: the papers just age because you can you can see
- 10:46Speaker 2: it and open it and and forth there.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's much better. And then sometimes a
- 10:52Speaker 1: QR code takes you to a you gotta log in
- 10:55Speaker 1: thing because again they want you dialed into their system.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I'm not to have a freaking app to heat something
- 11:03Speaker 1: up for a minute, to eat up a pop tart.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I'm just not.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Oh you know what, I it was a similar topic.
- 11:10Speaker 2: This could cause me to go on, like if I
- 11:12Speaker 2: ever get diagnosed, god forbid, with a dread disease and
- 11:15Speaker 2: I've only got a few weeks left, I'm going to
- 11:18Speaker 2: go on a tour of vengeance taking out my enemies.
- 11:23Speaker 2: That's my plan. Anyway. It's good to have a plan,
- 11:25Speaker 2: and the one of the groups of people I will
- 11:28Speaker 2: take out. This is a new thing, you go on.
- 11:31Speaker 2: What was I looking at the other day, I can't remember.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Is I do photography for fun. I'm getting pictures like
- 11:38Speaker 2: blown up and put on the wall, and it's super common.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Now give us your give us your email address, and
- 11:45Speaker 2: we'll give you twenty percent off your first order. And
- 11:48Speaker 2: I think, oh, great, okay, cool, Yeah, I'll do that.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I'll give them my usual email address and that I
- 11:53Speaker 2: use for this sort of thing, and no problem. I'll
- 11:55Speaker 2: go and hunt down the coupon code and you fill
- 11:58Speaker 2: it out, and they say, yep, we're almost there. Just
- 12:00Speaker 2: give us your text number and right, you can have
- 12:02Speaker 2: twenty percent off. You motherfuckers. This is fraud, it's deception.
- 12:10Speaker 2: You lied to me. Our relationship is over, says me,
- 12:14Speaker 2: and I'm gone.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Yeah. I had a similar thing a couple of different
- 12:17Speaker 1: times with online tests for things health things free online
- 12:22Speaker 1: and it looks like a legit site. You do the
- 12:23Speaker 1: whole thing, takes like fifteen minutes, and then if you
- 12:27Speaker 1: want your results, all you got to do is fill in,
- 12:29Speaker 1: you know, give us your email and your ven and
- 12:31Speaker 1: we'll send you the results. Screw you and your free
- 12:34Speaker 1: online diagnostic whatever. Well, I hate you. Yeah, I can understand.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna come to their house. I'm gonna fight you.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna have you in a head locked, just pounding
- 12:42Speaker 1: in the notes.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Show the amount, the amount of things I have not
- 12:46Speaker 3: purchased because of that happened.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, screw you.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Oh you got my email? That's enough.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Yeah, made an enemy for life. How do they not
- 12:55Speaker 1: realize that? I think they probably will?
- 12:58Speaker 2: Are there enough soft heads? Go ahead and think, ah
- 13:01Speaker 2: for twenty percent off a first order y'all have them
- 13:04Speaker 2: text me for the rest of my natural life.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Here's my social Security number, my blood type and my address,
- 13:10Speaker 1: my bank account.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Mom's maiden name, my first pet. What else do you need? Man?
- 13:16Speaker 2: Twenty percent off?
- 13:17Speaker 1: This is great. Well, I guess that's it.
