- 0:00I just want to come. I just want to give my own baby.
- 0:07I just want to give my own baby. I just want to leave with you.
- 0:15Hello and welcome to arguing ever after.
- 0:17I am Luke and this is my delightful bride, Amber.
- 0:20Hello. Together we're the Lord and Lady
- 0:22who lock horns The. Count and Countess of
- 0:24contention. The Duke and Duchess of
- 0:26Disagreement. And the king and queen of
- 0:27quarrels. In our podcast, we bicker about
- 0:30all things big and small, and the audience vote determines who
- 0:34the winner is. Many of our topics are
- 0:36frequently submitted by our listeners, which we actually
- 0:38like, so if you have a topic you would like us to battle over,
- 0:41please send it to us at arguingeverafter@gmail.com.
- 0:45We'd appreciate it because here we are, sitting at episode 45.
- 0:4945 That's for the Minnesotans. It is for the Minnesotans, which
- 0:52is our biggest audience, yes, however.
- 0:56Just want to say briefly for a second I thought maybe we should
- 0:59have some fun with the intro and you could call us the King and
- 1:01Queen of Squirrels. OK, but I didn't.
- 1:04You didn't. I didn't.
- 1:05Maybe next time. But we were certainly having a
- 1:09hard time. The Lord and lady who lock
- 1:11horses, we could just throw animals in there and see what
- 1:13happens. We.
- 1:13Could I wonder if anyone would notice?
- 1:15What's a sea animal that counted Countess of?
- 1:19Conscious cats. Conch conch conch.
- 1:22Why do you go to Conch like the show?
- 1:25Yeah, yeah. I don't know why don't you?
- 1:28Duke and Duchess of Sea Creature could be cats and dogs.
- 1:32I meant C like the letter C. Oh, I thought.
- 1:38You C is for cookie. OK, it's good enough.
- 1:41For the but I did both. You did.
- 1:44I mean, I'm proud of you. That's we did a great job
- 1:47together just now. 45 episodes in and we still can't get.
- 1:51A That's half of 90. I.
- 1:53That's I'm just saying. I mean sure.
- 1:55Yep, I mean, and it's 45 more than 0, so wow, there you go.
- 2:01Thank you. That's math, people.
- 2:03I know, I know. And we've taught them all about
- 2:05math. We.
- 2:06Did they know it? Now they know it.
- 2:08So, but you had a little a little shout out for our ever
- 2:12present Minnesotan audience. Yeah.
- 2:15And we have some more to welcome, which is really fun.
- 2:19One I thought we had already welcomed, but I did not.
- 2:24And in the spirit of what we have been doing, we're going to
- 2:27teach you all and maybe Luke, a few things about our new
- 2:32friends. This is fun.
- 2:34It's a little bit we've been doing with trivia.
- 2:36So now with trivia. And yeah.
- 2:38And yeah, arguing ever after now with trivia.
- 2:42So let me know. Are you ready, Luke?
- 2:44I'm so not ready. Let's do.
- 2:46It OK, OK, so here's some hints for Luke.
- 2:51He has a a way bigger, I don't know, advantage than the average
- 2:56listener. Because I have to study how to
- 2:59say the hello. Because you have to study.
- 3:01So I know the countries. All right, so this country.
- 3:05Hopefully made it hard. The first one we're saying hello
- 3:08to is consistently ranked as having the world's fastest
- 3:12Internet. OK, the.
- 3:16World. The world's fastest?
- 3:18Fastest. Yes, Internet, Yes.
- 3:21Roughly 70% of the country is covered in mountains.
- 3:26I got it. You do.
- 3:28South Korea. The world's first astronomical
- 3:31lab is here. Yep, South Korea.
- 3:34OK, how do you say hello to our South Korean friends?
- 3:38I'm going to make this bad so I apologize but I'm trying.
- 3:42I listened to videos, so it's almost it's I kind of like this
- 3:46one because it's almost musical. OK.
- 3:48And I don't know if now I want to know like is the language
- 3:51bordering on musical sort of all the time?
- 3:53So anyway, so this is how you say hello, not to your closest
- 3:57friend, but to like a person you don't know or a semi formal
- 4:02greeting and young I say oh all right.
- 4:07So another fun fact about South Korea that is I I thought was
- 4:14interesting and I don't know if it would have had anything to do
- 4:16with anything. Fastest Internet?
- 4:18Fastest consistently ranked, so they are hearing us faster than
- 4:22we're putting it out. There, we're hearing ourselves.
- 4:24That's amazing. They already are watching the
- 4:25episode. On November 11th, they celebrate
- 4:30in day. It's a snack day called Pepperon
- 4:34Day. Snack day.
- 4:35Yeah, it's a national holiday. Do they eat pepperoni?
- 4:38No, it's just a brand of a snack that they have that is so big
- 4:41and so loved that they're like, it's a national day and it is
- 4:45November 11th. So but that I didn't think was
- 4:49very helpful or unhelpful. Well, it's fun for.
- 4:53Yeah, who doesn't like a good snack?
- 4:55I like snacks. Right.
- 4:56So, OK, Are you ready for the next country we have to say
- 5:00hello to? Yes.
- 5:02I haven't decided. It's difficult.
- 5:04I mean, I OK, we'll try. We'll try.
- 5:06OK. OK.
- 5:08Golf is the most played sport there.
- 5:12OK. I probably have.
- 5:14It it is home to the longest running ballet company.
- 5:18Oh for sure. And it's continent.
- 5:21Oh, and it's continent. Oh, I still think I got it.
- 5:24OK, Poland. You are not right.
- 5:28Can I? No.
- 5:29Can I give you a couple more facts that might have helped?
- 5:31You they have a national strategic reserve of Maple
- 5:34syrup. They do, but it is not one of
- 5:36my. Facts.
- 5:36What's one of your facts? Mac and Cheese.
- 5:39It's the Mac and cheese capital of the world.
- 5:41No, it's not. Yes, they sell more than
- 5:44anywhere else. Yep.
- 5:45Congratulations. I have a couple extra facts
- 5:48because we have to, because, you know, Canada is our, we're
- 5:51South. Canada we're.
- 5:52South Canada or Southern Canada? We border Canada here in
- 5:56Minnesota, but. They're the number one travel
- 5:59destination in the world. Really.
- 6:02Yeah. Why?
- 6:04Sorry. I mean, hold on.
- 6:07Half of the country is the Arctic circled.
- 6:09No, no, listen, maybe Canada. I mean, OK, OK.
- 6:14Yeah, It's a stable place. It's safe.
- 6:16It's beautiful. I mean, it looks a lot like
- 6:18Minnesota. So, like, it's definitely
- 6:20gorgeous. Yeah, Yeah.
- 6:21Smells good. I've been there multiple times.
- 6:25Yeah, so there you go. They've got some great cities,
- 6:27yeah, some I still want to go to.
- 6:28I want to go to Vancouver. I was I was sort of bad because
- 6:32it seems like. Oh, they have.
- 6:34The Canadian Rockies are really pretty.
- 6:36Yeah, yeah, that's see. Yeah.
- 6:38Anyhow this? Is my my USA centric?
- 6:42Yes, it is thinking. That's what it is.
- 6:44I apologize. But you want to hear something
- 6:47that I love about Canada? Tell me.
- 6:49They're so polite in Canada like this is, they're so polite.
- 6:53They have something called the sorry act.
- 6:56Oh, sorry, sorry, yes, sorry, sorry act.
- 6:59Sorry, so sorry. Because they're so polite, they
- 7:03say sorry for everything that they needed to put in an act
- 7:07where an apology is not an admission of guilt by law.
- 7:12Wow. Because it's just part of the
- 7:15vernacular. Yeah.
- 7:17They just say sorry, sorry all the time.
- 7:21And they didn't want someone to be caught up by a lawyer.
- 7:24Guarantee you someone. Did say sorry, yeah, Sir, A five
- 7:28times. Which would be an admission of
- 7:30guilt in. Our So you're saying you're
- 7:31guilty? Wow.
- 7:33Yeah, isn't that cute? That's the most polite, cutest
- 7:37thing ever. I know it's probably the Mac and
- 7:38cheese and all the Maple syrup. I love it so much.
- 7:41OK, well, you know what the last one is, but we're just going to
- 7:44do this. Also, I just want to say Canada,
- 7:46welcome to the party. You're way late to the game
- 7:48since we're in Minnesota, but welcome.
- 7:50I know, yeah. We also share an amazing natural
- 7:53resource, the Boundary Waters. Yeah, together we do.
- 7:56It's gorgeous. We share a lot.
- 7:58I'm happy that you're part of it.
- 7:59I know it's a. It's a that's in.
- 8:01Ontario. We're buds, eh?
- 8:03We're sorry it took you so long to find us.
- 8:05And we're sorry that you didn't know that we were down here in
- 8:09Minnesota. So close to you.
- 8:12Yeah. OK so the last one, this is
- 8:14really just fun facts cuz you know what it is, but it is.
- 8:19I also already guessed it so. Everyone I know, maybe, maybe
- 8:22they don't remember, maybe they. Don't forgot, you're right.
- 8:24Maybe they're only half. Maybe they're sorry.
- 8:26Yeah, I mean, we are talking over each other a lot, so they
- 8:29might have just kind of gone. OK, shut up, get to it.
- 8:31But this country has the continent's oldest restaurant.
- 8:38The continent's oldest restaurant.
- 8:40Interesting. OK, a lot more clues.
- 8:44A lot more you are OK for sure. So it hosts an underground salt
- 8:50cathedral. Oh, I think I knew that
- 8:53actually. I did not know that.
- 8:56Yeah, it has the first written constitution on its continent.
- 9:02It does, yeah. Dang.
- 9:04Yeah, yeah. And then really.
- 9:09Yeah. Yeah, that's what the Internet
- 9:12says, so it must be. In Europe.
- 9:14Yeah. No way.
- 9:16Yes. OK, yes, I guess it does.
- 9:18Way to go. If it's on the Internet, it's
- 9:20real. It's real, and this one might
- 9:23have gotten you there, but I mean, it would have gotten you
- 9:25there. This is why I didn't go with
- 9:26this one in the beginning. But Copernicus was born there.
- 9:29OK. And then finally the most you
- 9:32know that actually, well, you would have figured out he was
- 9:35born there and not in. Well, sure, yeah.
- 9:38But the most important fact? Most important.
- 9:41Fact about this place Top fact. It is the largest exporter of
- 9:46Amber. Is it now it?
- 9:50Is. It has the most ancient magical
- 9:53tree set filled with bugs on the globe.
- 9:57Yes, yes. But yes, obviously the most
- 10:00important stone to our podcast. Oh, 100%.
- 10:04Yes. Have I gotten you Amber before
- 10:06Amber? No, you've not gotten me Amber
- 10:09before. Have I asked you if you wanted?
- 10:11It I don't know. Do you want it?
- 10:13Do you want one of those big gaudy ones like with a bug in
- 10:16it? No bugs, no bugs, no bugs.
- 10:19Why do you think they're going to come back to life?
- 10:21No, I'm not ready for Jurassic Park.
- 10:24No, thank you. I didn't say do you want to
- 10:26create adna lab and splice it with current.
- 10:30Nope, Living bugs. I don't.
- 10:31I don't really. Lizards.
- 10:34Let's dig into this a little bit.
- 10:35Let's not dig into this. I don't.
- 10:38I don't want something with a bug stuck in it.
- 10:42I just don't. I mean, maybe if the bug's doing
- 10:45something cool. What if it's a spider?
- 10:48Oh, maybe, but I. Don't know a Dino spider?
- 10:50A Dino spider? I don't think you would actually
- 10:52be able to buy that yourself. It'd probably be really
- 10:54expensive, wouldn't? It.
- 10:55Oh, it would be. You're right, yeah.
- 10:57I think they're common. It's defined like mosquitoes in
- 10:59them, I mean. You.
- 11:01Know mosquitoes, they've been around and and that's not I
- 11:06don't think that's cool actually, given that we have so
- 11:08many here that would be no fun, but I think it might be fun if
- 11:11you had one with a spider because you like to be a little
- 11:13spooky. Yeah, but I don't want to bug in
- 11:15jewelry. That's just, we'll just put that
- 11:17out there. No bugs in jewelry.
- 11:18That's not something I like. But if you are hearing maybe a
- 11:23little extra nasal, because I always have some nasal, I am
- 11:27still dealing with my sinus infection.
- 11:28So if I'm not as sharp as I usually am, I think I am too.
- 11:33Dealing with your sinus? You are dealing with my sinus
- 11:35infection. I, I apologize, but again, here
- 11:38I, I'm showing up to work sick. That's what I do right here.
- 11:42Don't call this work. Well, this is true.
- 11:45This is a lot of work. Listen, we do so much for this
- 11:47podcast. You know what I'd like to do
- 11:49what I would like to say hello to these people.
- 11:51Yes, Oh, you. Haven't.
- 11:53You haven't. Oh, that's right.
- 11:54OK, here we go, Poland. There's a few different ways, so
- 11:58I don't know if I picked the right one.
- 11:59I'm a little confused but it's chest.
- 12:04OK, sure, Sure. Hello Poland and welcome,
- 12:08welcome. Hollow was on there and I didn't
- 12:11like that because. It was too easy hollow.
- 12:13And then there was 1. OK.
- 12:17Nope, I can't remember it but ended in dobri or something like
- 12:20that. Again, we are welcoming our
- 12:23friends from across the pond. From Polska.
- 12:27And. I think that's Polish for
- 12:30Poland. A polska.
- 12:31Across a bigger pond and just up down the road.
- 12:35Pond OK. Well, it's these are our
- 12:38friends. Welcome.
- 12:38Wait, did I say hi to Canada? I didn't say hi to Canada
- 12:41either. Yeah, you did.
- 12:42No, we said a bunch of stuff. We said we were sorry.
- 12:44How rude. But I didn't say hello.
- 12:45We're sorry. Listen, Canada, first of all,
- 12:47hello. And I'll give you a second just
- 12:49for forgetting about you. Bonjour.
- 12:50We. Will never forget about Canada.
- 12:53There we go. Yep.
- 12:55Anyhow, so we we we are caught up, I think on our countries who
- 13:00have who've shown up. So some of you also are real
- 13:05near other countries or not, you know, like keep shares with your
- 13:08friends, you know, like just just please do.
- 13:10That yeah, tell your neighboring countries.
- 13:12Or or your neighbors that do your exact neighbors.
- 13:15Yeah. Why?
- 13:17What if we were like #1 in someone's block?
- 13:20The number one podcast on someone's block?
- 13:23We. Would own the block and Rep the
- 13:25block. Yeah, yeah.
- 13:27I mean, let's do it, let's do it or whatever you call your
- 13:29neighborhood. Maybe they don't call it blocks,
- 13:31we call it blocks. The barrio.
- 13:34The barrio. I don't even is that.
- 13:36That's neighborhood in Spanish. OK, yeah, yeah.
- 13:39So that would be really cool. Let's get us #1 in your area.
- 13:43Yes. I don't need to be #1 in the
- 13:45world, just in your heart. That's all.
- 13:48That's true. I would settle for #1 in
- 13:51anyone's heart, yes, even yours. Yeah, well, you are.
- 13:54Hey there. Don't, don't just let it.
- 13:57I'm gonna take the win. We're gonna move.
- 13:58We're and moving on. Moving on.
- 14:01Yeah, yeah. So what has been going on?
- 14:03What have we been doing? Yeah, Low key, low key.
- 14:08Oh my gosh, no. But also some fun stuff is,
- 14:11well, I don't know if it's fun. Luke is expecting his 7th Jeep.
- 14:15I thought you were gonna say expecting.
- 14:17I was like, yes, I am, little baby in there.
- 14:21We made some dinner and we put all the salad in here today.
- 14:24Yeah, yeah, half a loaf of bread.
- 14:28You're expecting your. I think it's.
- 14:30Seven, you tried to count. I did.
- 14:32That's demented. Why did you do this?
- 14:34Cuz you were upset. No, no, I just actually was
- 14:37guessing and it felt like the right number.
- 14:39Oh well, it might be the right number.
- 14:40Right, right. And I like to say you're
- 14:43expecting your Jeep, you know, like I mean.
- 14:46It's at least that I can count 6 real easy.
- 14:48Me too, me too. If you count the ones we've Co
- 14:52owned, well, seven XJ. If you count the ones we Co
- 14:55owned, it's well over a dozen. Yeah, but I'm counting yours.
- 14:59I think it is 7. Yeah.
- 15:00Yeah, I think you're right. So exciting.
- 15:03Lucky number seven. Yeah, look.
- 15:05At that. Yeah, I like that.
- 15:07I'm gonna get a license plate that says 7.
- 15:09I'm sure it's not taken at all. It's not, especially in the land
- 15:13of Minnesota. Prince 7.
- 15:16And we'll watch them. Fall.
- 15:17But maybe it's not. Maybe it's not.
- 15:19Sorry, I'm just saying, everyone, if you didn't like it,
- 15:21yeah, yeah. If you liked it, I'm not sorry.
- 15:24I'm. Sorry.
- 15:25I'm excited for this new one for you.
- 15:28Yeah, there you go. Agreed.
- 15:30That's what we've been up to. It's the winter edition.
- 15:32It's repping Minnesota so hard. Lucky number 7 and it's a winter
- 15:36edition. And it's even going to represent
- 15:39it better when you get our Arguing Ever After tire cover
- 15:45because it's like, that's the number one podcast in our
- 15:48neighborhood. Also, for you Gen.
- 15:49Xers watching, I'm just going to throw this out there.
- 15:51Our initials are a Yay. And we have several Gen.
- 15:56Xers that listen, yes, they're #1.
- 16:00And if you're not a Gen. Xer, look it up a yay.
- 16:03Yes, yes. So I'm excited about that too
- 16:08because you know, mine, mine's out there.
- 16:09If you see a, you might, if you're local Minnesota, you
- 16:13might see you're like, Oh my gosh, I know those two butt
- 16:16heads. It's arguing on that.
- 16:18Feel free to honk and wave, we'll probably think you're like
- 16:21flipping us off, but no. I mean, no, because we have
- 16:24Jeeps and we'll be like, we know it.
- 16:25You're just being friendly, right?
- 16:27Yeah, and if you see it on on her Jeep, you can give her one
- 16:31of them little ducks. I have so many ducks.
- 16:33If you see it on my Jeep, don't give me duck, because there's
- 16:36only one duck. Yeah, it's Gimli, the powerful
- 16:40Dwarf duck. Wow.
- 16:41OK, yeah, OK. So I mean.
- 16:44Just saying. What if someone was giving you
- 16:46like a dragon duck? Wouldn't you like that?
- 16:49Whoa. I mean, it would depend.
- 16:51I'd there's a lot of competition right now.
- 16:53There's a strength presence happening on my dashboard.
- 16:56Yes, I don't understand what you mean, but it's OK.
- 17:01It's a very large, strong duck. Oh, it's a big He's wearing
- 17:05duck. You know, like leather armor and
- 17:07has a battle axe. Yeah, yeah, OK.
- 17:10It's. Pretty aggressive.
- 17:10There you go. Well, and that duck craze is not
- 17:13just limited to Wranglers anymore.
- 17:15I see them all over everybody's dashboards, which is fine and
- 17:18fun. I you know what?
- 17:20It's weird What? There's a desk at one of my
- 17:26dealer groups where the salesperson has their desk
- 17:31absolutely covered in ducks. That's cute.
- 17:34That's cute. Just everywhere.
- 17:35My desk is not covered in. It's covered in a lot of other
- 17:40tchotch keys. No, I have enough stuff on my
- 17:42desk. You do have a lot of stuff.
- 17:43It's actually covered in post it notes.
- 17:45Am I the only one who just writes random post it notes and
- 17:48sticks them everywhere while they're at work?
- 17:50Not at all. My favorite thing?
- 17:53I do that except not up vertical.
- 17:54I put them like near keyboards and phones and places where I.
- 17:59Yeah, that's for the more more stuff like.
- 18:02I can't handle them on the screen.
- 18:04Just can't I put them up on like the walls around me and how my
- 18:07favorite thing to do during a work day.
- 18:10This is so fun for everybody. I'm ready is to take off a post
- 18:15it because it's done and throw it away.
- 18:17Oh my goodness. I love it so much.
- 18:19You're my mother. That's weird.
- 18:23I'm not though. Yeah.
- 18:24Well, she has a similar trait about being excited that she's.
- 18:30That's done. Accomplishing a task on a list
- 18:33somewhere? OK, Yeah.
- 18:34Tasks and lists What do you do about tasks and lists?
- 18:38I mean, I definitely have them. It's we're getting into tasks
- 18:41and lists season here. It's warming up.
- 18:43Yeah, yeah. I've got a I've got a task list
- 18:46that that met winter last year and didn't get finished because
- 18:50Mother Nature decided, oh, it's November 1st, let's be winter
- 18:53immediately. Leaves didn't get raped.
- 18:57I didn't empty the the it's the we.
- 18:59I got all kinds of problems outside.
- 19:02Many chores need to be addressed.
- 19:04I don't know. I kind of feel like, you know,
- 19:07when you're a kid and you have like a really short attention
- 19:10span and you feel like asking like, what's your favorite color
- 19:15when someone's talking about something?
- 19:16OK. I feel like that, right?
- 19:19What is your favorite color? Green, what's yours?
- 19:22Yellow. OK, they're complimentary.
- 19:25Yeah. Green is grass, yellow is sun.
- 19:27You need you need the sun for the grass.
- 19:30I don't like that you need the grass for the sun.
- 19:33This is perspective. Wow.
- 19:36Yeah, OK. OK, so that's OK.
- 19:38What's your favorite animal? Favorite.
- 19:42Animal. Like that, it's not a pet.
- 19:45Sure. I don't know.
- 19:49Wow. It's hard.
- 19:51OK, an. Eagle.
- 19:55Wow. I like them a lot.
- 19:56OK, We had a podcast about them. We did.
- 19:58I talked about how sweet they were because they're super
- 20:00sweet. So it's interesting when you're
- 20:02trying to segue into things and like you try a.
- 20:04Couple of times you were trying to softball me.
- 20:06And I did twice. But it wasn't a so you didn't
- 20:09say OK. I did twice and you're like
- 20:11cool, I'm going off. That's it.
- 20:13Because remember. Here's the thing.
- 20:16I'm the king of Segways and we know this.
- 20:18OK, well, let's hear it. Let's hear it.
- 20:20I'm ready for. It we can't just say I'm ready
- 20:21for it. That's a cool open.
- 20:23I've learned that from one of the podcasts.
- 20:25OK, let's hear a warm, open. Wait, what are we talking about?
- 20:28Wow. The other day, what were you
- 20:30doing? Welcome to the podcast,
- 20:32everybody. I'm actually.
- 20:33Welcome to the Segways. I would say in general I've done
- 20:39some really great segues. You know, let's talk about this
- 20:42shirt I'm wearing today. It says strange things happen
- 20:46below sea level. Yeah, yeah, Yep, do.
- 20:49You want me to talk about anything that's strange and
- 20:52below sea level? See, see, here's the thing you
- 20:55want to like. Just have me set it up easily
- 20:58for you like that. I was trying to set up my own
- 21:00but I think that's not how I was supposed to work.
- 21:03I'm disappointed that you didn't take that and run with it
- 21:06though. Fine, tell me about something
- 21:08that's strange and under the sea.
- 21:11OK. Do you, are we, are we asking
- 21:15questions yet? We're not.
- 21:16We're not ready. I don't know.
- 21:18Sure, sure. Hey, you know what, Luke?
- 21:20What? This is the most.
- 21:23I don't know if I'm ready. Medicated, I could.
- 21:25Be I could be ready. You ready so much AMOXICILLIN is
- 21:30in the house. It's I'm so amoxicillized.
- 21:35Amoxicillized. Yes, I've been making up words a
- 21:38lot. Let's make a new commercial get
- 21:40amoxicillized. Yes, yes, OK.
- 21:45So back to the the kids questions.
- 21:47When you're a kid and you just ask those random questions like
- 21:51what's your favorite color? Yeah.
- 21:52What's your favorite animal? What's your favorite sport?
- 21:55Yeah. What's your favorite sport?
- 21:58Sucker. OK, cool, cool, cool, cool cool.
- 22:01Mine's Oh, I don't know what my favorite sport is.
- 22:04Yoga. Your favorite sport is yoga.
- 22:07This is not a sport I know. Welcome to the Olympic sport of
- 22:13yoga. Yoga.
- 22:14How stretchy. How Zen?
- 22:16How Zen can you be? I'm the most.
- 22:19Well, it can also be very athletic.
- 22:21I mean, I know, I just, it's not a sport.
- 22:23I meditate the best do. Sports have to have a ball.
- 22:27No what? What's a sport that?
- 22:29Running is. A sport.
- 22:30Running is a sport. Why isn't yoga a sport?
- 22:33Let's get into this for a second.
- 22:34I mean, break dancing was a sport.
- 22:36I know. Why isn't yoga?
- 22:37How? Why isn't yoga a sport?
- 22:39It's like one of the oldest physical activities documented
- 22:43on planet Earth. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:46I don't know. Is boxing a Olympic sport?
- 22:49Is like martial arts Olympic sports?
- 22:53Yeah. Huh.
- 22:55Yeah, is all right. Never mind.
- 22:58I have no idea why. You know what?
- 23:00Is what is horseback riding an Olympic sport?
- 23:04I don't know, I don't know. You know what isn't?
- 23:08What's not? Unicorn riding what?
- 23:12That was a layup. OK, see you saw what I was.
- 23:16Laying about. I did, I did.
- 23:18I got it every time. I got it every time.
- 23:20That's. Good.
- 23:21All right. So earlier today we were looking
- 23:22at topics and we had one that we could have discussed and I
- 23:25determined that my brain power is not good enough.
- 23:30We're keeping this one light. People, yes, it's it's very
- 23:33light and requiring little little fun little fun and
- 23:37requiring very little research on my end yeah so.
- 23:40Also mine. Yeah, yeah.
- 23:42So today, say what we're talking about for fun.
- 23:45It's fun stuff. It's.
- 23:46Fun stuff. Unicorns and Dragons.
- 23:49Well, hold on Amber. Let me ask you a question.
- 23:51What in this corner? It's the moment you've all been
- 23:57waiting for. Wow, this is our first episode.
- 23:59Welcome to the podcast #45 yes, Dash slash 1.
- 24:04The moment you've all been waiting for, ladies.
- 24:06And gentlemen, there we go. In this corner we have Luke
- 24:09claiming to weigh in at 185 lbs right showing up with a shirt
- 24:14that he tried to segue with, which is not at all a direct
- 24:17relation, but it's. Totally a direct relation.
- 24:20So our under one, our tally has not changed since our last
- 24:24podcast. I'm closing in though, there's a
- 24:26chance. It's it, Yeah.
- 24:27We're sitting at 9 ties. Luke's got sixteen wins and 18
- 24:32losses. You kind of said you had
- 24:35eighteen wins. You got to point out the number
- 24:37of losses. Well you're right, I do I2 have
- 24:42eighteen wins. About to be maybe 17 if things
- 24:45go my OH. Please, people, vote on episode
- 24:474. Oh no, they won't be able to
- 24:50because this won't be out in time, But vote on the next one.
- 24:53You know what to do, you know what to do.
- 24:55Vote for your boy over here. What's up?
- 24:57What is this argument? Oh, in this corner we have
- 25:02Amber, yes, who's clearly firing on all cylinders today.
- 25:06All three. And she is clearly winning.
- 25:10So that's unfair. And I think we should have more
- 25:14fairness in the world. So my question for you today is,
- 25:18oh gosh, which mythical creature is your faves?
- 25:26That's not the question. Fix it, That's fine.
- 25:28This is why. This is why you ask the
- 25:30questions. I forget them.
- 25:32Which is the cool? Which would you?
- 25:34Rather. Have.
- 25:35Yeah, There we go. Which would you rather have?
- 25:37OK, Which mythical creature would you rather have?
- 25:40Go. My gosh, we are really of what?
- 25:44What? Of what?
- 25:45There's. What do you mean of what?
- 25:47Of any of anything. I said mythical.
- 25:49Mythical. Yeah.
- 25:50What? OK, so I'm going to throw that
- 25:53question back at you because I think that it.
- 25:56You're reframing. That's what you're doing
- 25:58reframing, yes. Hey.
- 26:00Luke. Hey, Amber.
- 26:02Let me ask you a question. What?
- 26:03And ladies and gentlemen, now at the moment you've all been
- 26:07waiting for, what's the question, dear?
- 26:14Which would you prefer to have? Which would I prefer to have?
- 26:19A dragon. A.
- 26:20Dragon a Unicorn. A dragicorn.
- 26:24And the question after that is why this is what the audience
- 26:29wants to. Do OK.
- 26:30I bet you half our audience already knows my answer, so I'll
- 26:33give the half that doesn't know my answer.
- 26:35The answer is dragon people for sure.
- 26:38OK? Not even.
- 26:40I mean, yes, why it's a dragon. So many reasons.
- 26:44So I mean, first of all, there's a large history of Dragons.
- 26:51There's a whole mythology situation that goes with them
- 26:55and it ties into my T-shirt. Not at all.
- 26:58Yeah, literally. The oldest documented creation
- 27:00story in the history of humankind is about the dragon
- 27:04Tiamat, who was the mother of creation.
- 27:08She lived in the dark depths of unknown, below the sea and the
- 27:14sky. Who was her counterpart.
- 27:17She and he created then the pantheon of gods that were
- 27:22worshipped in ancient Mesopotamia.
- 27:26I feel like that was the name of the dragon mother on the Dragon
- 27:29Prince Netflix series. Probably.
- 27:32Well, TMRT's the oldest documented name of a dragon,
- 27:35period. So anyway, so that's.
- 27:38I mean, that's part of the reason I actually like dragon
- 27:40mythology and dragon lore. I've read a lot of books because
- 27:42I'm super nerdy about things that involve Dragons.
- 27:45Amber's so excited right now. If you're not a video consumer
- 27:50of the pod and you're listening, she's yawned 3 times in the last
- 27:54two minutes since I started talking.
- 27:55This is not not before. She did not start yawning at the
- 27:59beginning of the podcast. I said dragon and she was like.
- 28:02Hmm, it's not. A like I'm getting punked right
- 28:05now. No, it's not at.
- 28:07A That's OK. I'll give you a few more.
- 28:08Yawns. It's.
- 28:10Here we go a few more yawns. So I like the mythology.
- 28:13My personal, I don't know. I line up more with the Eastern
- 28:20thinking of Dragons. She'd doing it again.
- 28:22People were up to three and the Eastern mythology of Dragons so
- 28:27ancient, you know, China and Japan and Korea, that whole
- 28:31area. They see them generally as
- 28:34connected to the spirit of water and air.
- 28:38They are benevolent, they are wise.
- 28:41They share their gifts and wisdom with people.
- 28:45I think that's super cool in a lot of the Western culture
- 28:49specifically like, you know, in I don't know, England, Wales,
- 28:53etcetera, it's on the Welsh flag or was on the Welsh flag.
- 28:57I think it still isn't the Welsh flag.
- 29:00Dragons are are like to be contended with.
- 29:03So still obviously, you know, magical and powerful etcetera,
- 29:07but also people ought to battle with them to there's the whole
- 29:11save the maiden story and there's the, you know, the
- 29:14dragon is the bad guy. And then in Lord of the Rings,
- 29:19which is my favorite book, there's the dragon that hoards
- 29:22the treasure. We're up to 4 yawns.
- 29:25This is amazing. This is literally for the record
- 29:27book and some of our listeners are laughing right along with
- 29:32you and I love them for it Anyway, so I think all that
- 29:34stuff is really cool. The story of Dragons is cool.
- 29:36The reason why I would like to have one is because there's some
- 29:41more recent dragon stories that are a little more whimsical and
- 29:43fun where people have Dragons literally as like, not as pets
- 29:48because you can't really have like a super magical ancient
- 29:50creature as a pet, but as a pet who is like your companion.
- 29:55So, you know, not like a not like a dog, probably more like a
- 29:59cat, Like they're more independent and, you know, like
- 30:03you decide to do things together.
- 30:07It's a. Mutually, I don't think a cat
- 30:09and you decide to do things together.
- 30:11Well, the Dragons are a little different than.
- 30:12Cats. I was going to say.
- 30:13Because a cat decides what to do.
- 30:15Yeah. And you?
- 30:17Maybe we're the Dragon's pet. In any event, I'm going to keep
- 30:20going. So I need to get up to like 6 or
- 30:227 yawns and then I'm good. So.
- 30:25So I think it's cool that Dragons can fly.
- 30:28That's one thing that they always seem to have as a trait.
- 30:31I love flying. I have flown an airplane, little
- 30:34one. It was fun.
- 30:35I've jumped out of an airplane twice.
- 30:37It was awesome. Both times I've jumped off a
- 30:39building. Like I'm really into air and
- 30:42fast speed. So I think a dragon would be
- 30:45way, way fun. Like super super fun.
- 30:49And they're magical. OK.
- 30:50And the reason I would like to have one is because there's been
- 30:56some more recent, more sort of whimsical stories about Dragons
- 30:59where they were like this. It was very popular as Aragon,
- 31:03the book series where there were dragon riders.
- 31:06And then also not quite as whimsical, but more recent story
- 31:09from Game of Thrones, they had Dragons that they, you know,
- 31:13sort of joined forces, so to speak, not quite like a pet, but
- 31:17you know, like a partner. And I think it's super cool,
- 31:21but. Queen of Dragons, right?
- 31:22Yes. And I think it's super cool, the
- 31:25idea that you could have like a gigantic, mythical, magical
- 31:30serpent flying creature as your friend.
- 31:34As our listeners would know, I am a big fan of flying.
- 31:38I've flown an airplane which was tiny but super fun, and I've
- 31:41jumped out of two different airplanes for fun for
- 31:44parachuting, which is awesome. And I've jumped off of a
- 31:47building. So if you get like speed and
- 31:49wind involved in the sky, I'm in for sure.
- 31:53So that's one of the main reasons I would pick a dragon as
- 31:57which I would like to have and the magical aspect of it is
- 32:02super cool. I like the idea that like if the
- 32:05dragon and I decided we wanted to do something cool with magic,
- 32:09like we could do it. Like what kind of magic does a
- 32:11dragon possess? Like you mean you say magic, but
- 32:13like magic is a broad, broad subject.
- 32:18Well, it's nearly as. Specifically, what magical
- 32:21powers do they? Have, I mean, it depends on
- 32:23what, because they're a mythical creature.
- 32:25It depends on what myths you want to read.
- 32:26So I mean, literally we started the discussion with the mother
- 32:30of creation, right? So that's pretty huge.
- 32:33There's also like manipulation of the elements around you so
- 32:37they can like turn stone into water.
- 32:41There's like the fire breathing aspect of it 'cause you know,
- 32:45the fire doesn't come from a literal fire.
- 32:48It's like magic. So that's cool.
- 32:51And then there's like the, the magical speech thing where like
- 32:57they, you know, they can like, like they would get you to do
- 33:01something like a, like a glamour from a vampire or, you know,
- 33:06something like that. And they can like make
- 33:12themselves and things around them invisible.
- 33:14They can create like, like, like illusory worlds of around people
- 33:22where they think they're in a dream.
- 33:23Like there's all kinds of crazy stuff that Dragons can do.
- 33:26Wait, they they can build the matrix?
- 33:28Yep, we maybe we're all currently living in a simulation
- 33:32made by magical Dragons. Maybe I think this is the first
- 33:35time the. That'd be that'd be pretty cool
- 33:37actually. You would like that.
- 33:38Yeah, well, if it's Dragons, not if it was AI, because that seems
- 33:41a little too close to home right now.
- 33:42Yeah, I feel like Dragons would be super cool so long as they're
- 33:45not eating us. I feel like, well, they might be
- 33:47eating us if that's. Yeah, what do they eat?
- 33:49I don't know, probably people. They're giant serpents.
- 33:52Probably people. They eat warm blooded creatures,
- 33:55I think. OK, maybe let's just say they
- 33:57eat, you know, I don't know, like deer, like, you know, like
- 34:00wolves eat deer. Maybe.
- 34:02Maybe that's what Dragons eat. Maybe they eat cows.
- 34:04Why are we so flippant about deer I.
- 34:07Don't know, maybe because there's so many of.
- 34:09Them No, no, no, Nope. I know the answer.
- 34:11OK, I know the answer because I've seen How to Train Your
- 34:14Dragon 1237. There's another whimsical where
- 34:18they where they ride the Dragons and they're their buddies.
- 34:21And they ate sheep. There you go.
- 34:23They went to the Isle of Burke to eat the sheep.
- 34:25They did. They wanted all the there.
- 34:27You go. I knew the answer to that, but I
- 34:28think they also liked fish too. Yep.
- 34:31Yep. So fish and sheep is a sheep's
- 34:34diet. I would like to eat fish and
- 34:36sheep as well. It would not.
- 34:39That's awful, but. Yeah, other reasons.
- 34:41I would like to have a dragon. I have a dragon tattooed on my
- 34:45back. OK.
- 34:47And that just seems more fitting.
- 34:50I don't have a Unicorn tattooed on my back, which some of our
- 34:53viewers may find interesting. Oh, you.
- 34:55Should could that be our question?
- 34:58Doesn't fit with the the rest of the mythology I have tattooed on
- 35:02my body but I have literally committed harder.
- 35:07If the listener is really curious of who's committed to
- 35:10this podcast episode harder. It's me by a mile cuz I have the
- 35:15dragon tattooed on my back. Pretty big too.
- 35:18OK. And you, you know what you don't
- 35:20have tattooed on you? A Unicorn.
- 35:22Take it away, Amber. By the way, she had another
- 35:25couple of yawns. We might be up to six or seven.
- 35:27Yeah, let's see if she yawns at her own arguments.
- 35:29I really hope I don't, but now that you keep saying the word
- 35:33yawn, it's like I'll all I can think about is yawning so and
- 35:38it's nothing against that. Argument is as news fest.
- 35:44OK, so you want a dragon and there's just 0 practicality for
- 35:50having a dragon in my mind. I mean, that's that's the point.
- 35:54Why? I would want.
- 35:56What's What's the practicality of a Unicorn?
- 35:58I why I would want a Unicorn over a dragon?
- 36:02OK, OK. Yeah.
- 36:05So interestingly, unicorns are are not as giant as Dragons.
- 36:12This is true. Yeah, yeah, As a matter of fact,
- 36:16my understanding is they're about horse sized.
- 36:19Yeah, OK. I do like big animals.
- 36:23Clearly we have giant dogs. 1 you may or may not have seen
- 36:26during this episode. Where do you go?
- 36:28A lot of times when they come up, even though they're huge,
- 36:31they stay out of frame. Maybe they know.
- 36:35Yeah, they're camera shy. Anyhow.
- 36:38So unicorns, I see. There's your yawn.
- 36:42Wow. OK, this is a contagious,
- 36:44contagious episode. Anyhow, unicorns I would
- 36:48definitely rather have. I feel like my the world and
- 36:51society in which I live in is better equipped to have a
- 36:55Unicorn than a dragon. And I think the practicality
- 36:58needs to be taken into consideration for getting a pet
- 37:02right. You're worried about a parking
- 37:04spot? I I Where would a dragon live?
- 37:10On top of the building on. What?
- 37:12Yeah, you can go wherever you want.
- 37:14There already are like farms for horses and people can rent out
- 37:19stalls. Why wouldn't I be?
- 37:21I could rent out a stall for my Unicorn.
- 37:23We need a dragon farm. So I mean, so there is that.
- 37:29And you're talking about maybe eating humans.
- 37:31Who knows? I'm certain a Unicorn eats like.
- 37:35How do you know that? Grass and stuff like that.
- 37:39Based on just genetic makeup, that was what you were thinking
- 37:43of, like lizards. And you're like, well, lizards,
- 37:45they eat that. Horses or whatever.
- 37:49The wow, I should have done that.
- 37:51Equine. Equine.
- 37:52They like, you know, like donkeys, like vegetation,
- 37:56vegetation, ponies sometimes. Maybe the occasional salt lick
- 38:01or sugar cube, you know, but not humans.
- 38:04Not humans. I don't know of any equine that
- 38:07eats humans, and I don't want to be possibly.
- 38:10Well, I didn't say they did. Well, but.
- 38:13You're just weaponizing my argument.
- 38:15You didn't say they didn't. I am telling you without a
- 38:19shadow of doubt, I will tell you.
- 38:22Unicorns do not eat humans. My dragon would never eat a
- 38:25human. OK, well, I don't have to worry
- 38:30about that. The world is already.
- 38:33Wait, what if they were a really bad human?
- 38:37I don't I and. We have the magical dragon eat
- 38:39it. I mean, I don't like, OK.
- 38:41Never mind. I don't need an assassination
- 38:45animal. What if it was Unicorn blast
- 38:47power? So anyhow.
- 38:49But then, OK, so unicorns also have magical powers, but they
- 38:52seem more like useful to me, right?
- 38:57I don't, I don't know that I need things to transform, but I
- 39:01like the idea of having something that could heal me,
- 39:04which is like one of the things that people think you know, or
- 39:06say that magical, you know, the magic that unicorns have.
- 39:11So like there's that, right. So like I, I like the magic that
- 39:15they have for me and my purposes.
- 39:17This is my pet. I need to take care of it.
- 39:21Also. That's what I would potentially
- 39:23be getting back because like, what if it could like heal all
- 39:25the things that are going on with me, right?
- 39:27Like I love that idea. The other thing you were talking
- 39:31about was having a dragon and the benefits to you.
- 39:34I'm going to tell you there's a benefit to Society of having
- 39:38Unicorn. I could have a Unicorn and it
- 39:43could do a little work for me, right?
- 39:44It's a, it's a work animal too. I could give Unicorn rides,
- 39:48charge for Unicorn rides. What people would do that and
- 39:52they'd feel safe, man. People would feel safe doing a
- 39:55Unicorn ride like they do party. Rides, you're going to, yes,
- 39:59monetize your magical Unicorn. I'm going to monetize you're.
- 40:02Going to have a sad, sad Unicorn.
- 40:04No, I'm not. You're putting it to work.
- 40:06Ponies don't seem sad when they're riding kids around, do
- 40:09they? No, they seem perfectly fine.
- 40:12They're like, this is what I do. I like to run.
- 40:15Hard disagree. And unicorns like to run.
- 40:19You're talking about at the County Fair.
- 40:20You think the ponies are happy? I'm talking, I'm telling you, I
- 40:23promise you, we have people who are listening right now to this
- 40:26episode, right this very second, this, who have a horse or a
- 40:31pony. I'm just saying them, they tell
- 40:34you. That the bond between their
- 40:36horse and them is just that bond is different.
- 40:39Magical unicorns are much closer.
- 40:43That's true to a horse. So I'm telling you there's a
- 40:47good bond there. Plus, think of all the the
- 40:49people who've ever wanted a Unicorn, their dreams would come
- 40:53true at riding a Unicorn or riding a Unicorn like, like it's
- 40:57this is a this is a service for others as well.
- 41:01Not just me, but for others as well.
- 41:05And the number one reason why I would want a Unicorn, number
- 41:10one. Number one, yeah, is a baby
- 41:13Unicorn. It's called a sparkle.
- 41:20And how flippin cute is that? It is born joy sparkle.
- 41:25Sparkle. That's why I would want a
- 41:27Unicorn instead of a dragon. Much more reasonable animal to
- 41:32care for and we can have a Co beneficial like you were talking
- 41:37about. You wanted your dragon to do
- 41:39magic for you. I want my Unicorn to do service
- 41:43for others. For sure a dragon could do that
- 41:46too. That's that's my argument and.
- 41:49You got a horse with a spike on its head and you just want to
- 41:52sell it. No, I didn't say sell it.
- 41:54No, no, no. Monetize it.
- 41:56It's very American. That's true.
- 42:01Maybe I want my dragon to eat bad people.
- 42:04Gosh, I feel like this that. 'D be pretty great.
- 42:07What if, oh, what if I had a dragon and you could pick death
- 42:13by and you pick either like firing squad, like you got
- 42:17convicted of something terrible or or like you get the poison
- 42:21thing or the electric chair. I could get eaten by a dragon.
- 42:24I'm going that let me get I'm a feed the dragon.
- 42:26OK, your greatest thing with your dragon is to kill people,
- 42:31and my greatest thing with my Unicorn?
- 42:34It's just a little fuck. Is to provide the dream come
- 42:38true for people. My greatest thing is flying in
- 42:41magic. OK, well I'm just saying with
- 42:44other people, these are the two things just saying.
- 42:47Sounds like a pretty simple vote to me.
- 42:49I don't know that it sounds that simple.
- 42:51I mean, when you were talking about, did you want to tell the
- 42:54world about the world? And then you were like, Nope.
- 42:57And I'm like, yeah, let's tell everybody.
- 42:58You think I'm not going to be benevolent with my dragon that's
- 43:01got magical power? You bet.
- 43:03I still don't you. You lost that episode.
- 43:06Whenever we're bringing up, you know why you bring it up a whole
- 43:09business. It's not, it's current.
- 43:11That's it's current, that's. Current in the tally, anyhow.
- 43:15Whatever. Dragons are awesome, I win.
- 43:17That's the argument. Which would you rather have?
- 43:19Whether or. Not you like the?
- 43:20Argument. Which is awesome.
- 43:23And a Unicorn, which is also awesome.
- 43:24Just not quite as awesome because no flying.
- 43:26Pretty awesome. It's awesome enough that another
- 43:28country also put them on the plane.
- 43:30It's. Basically a horse.
- 43:32Whoa, no, with some magical powers, I'm saying it's a it's a
- 43:36reasonable thing to have. And and I think when we're
- 43:39thinking about owning animals, we need to think about can we
- 43:43really accommodate them as an owner.
- 43:46And I feel like you. Can accommodate a dragon.
- 43:48I feel like everything is already set in place.
- 43:51I would be a responsible Unicorn owner based on I could find
- 43:58everything I need for it. That's great.
- 44:00I would be the freaking coolest dragon owner ever.
- 44:03It'd be awesome. That's it.
- 44:05That's our argument. No more traffic.
- 44:08That's a fun one to think about. You just hop on your dragon and
- 44:11just go to work. God I don't want to work if I
- 44:13have a dragon though. Yeah, see.
- 44:15I feel like I wouldn't have to. Maybe I'd never have to work
- 44:17again if I have a dragon. OK, that's the argument.
- 44:21I'm clearly done arguing are. You.
- 44:23Clearly you. Clearly are How do they vote
- 44:25dear? You know what?
- 44:26They could go to the Spotify polls.
- 44:27Yeah, they can. That's the best way you could
- 44:31comment though, regardless. Yeah, we like engagement.
- 44:35We love. Let's have a little chat.
- 44:36We love engagement. Let's have a chat in the Spotify
- 44:39app or on social media. Wherever.
- 44:42We're on all the things arguing ever after.
- 44:44We're not super active because we have full time jobs and well.
- 44:48So we're very responsive actually.
- 44:50And we're sleepy. If you comment, we respond.
- 44:53That's true, and it really does matter.
- 44:55I'm just saying we don't post like 8 times a day.
- 44:57No, that we don't do because we because we're job.
- 45:00Jobs and sleepy. That's that's what I was
- 45:02talking. About anyhow, but we love it
- 45:04even. If you have a full blown phone
- 45:05call with somebody about a dragon, let's go.
- 45:07I know. Yeah.
- 45:08Today, even if you've commented on another one, you're like, oh,
- 45:11I don't know, it seems a little no comment again.
- 45:15We love it. We love it so much.
- 45:17Thank you for listening. Share us with your friends,
- 45:20family. Yeah.
- 45:22Unicorns. Dragon.
- 45:23Everybody. And especially, you know what?
- 45:26Share us with your enemies because.
- 45:28And your frenemies. And your frenemies, right?
- 45:31All of it, all of it, anybody and follow, right?
- 45:36That's what we got for you. See you next time, bye.
- 45:46Just want to do my own thing. I just want to do my own thing.
