- 0:00And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said,
- 0:04the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage
- 0:08for his son and sent out his servants to call those who were invited
- 0:12to the wedding, and they were not willing to come.
- 0:17Again he sent out other servants saying, tell those who are invited,
- 0:20see, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and fatted
- 0:24cattle are killed, and all things are ready.
- 0:26Come come to the wedding. But they made light of
- 0:30it and went their ways, one to his own farm,
- 0:33another to his business. And the rest seized his
- 0:37servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them.
- 0:41But when the king heard about it, he was furious, and he
- 0:45sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their
- 0:48city. Then he said to his servants, the wedding is ready,
- 0:52but those who were invited were not worthy.
- 0:56Therefore, go into the highways, and as many
- 0:59as you find, invite them to the wedding.
- 1:04Beloved, it is time to invite people to
- 1:08the wedding supper of the Lamb.
- 1:12Jesus is returning, and I believe he's returning
- 1:16soon in our lifetime.
- 1:20Invite people to the wedding. Join us
- 1:24as we do a deep dive on Psalm 45,
- 1:29the Wedding Psalm. Welcome to the Daily Audio
- 1:33Torah. Today is September 1st. Now let's continue our
- 1:37journey reading through the entire Bible in one year.
- 1:41This week we are reading from the New Living Translation for the Old Testament and
- 1:45for the New Testament.
- 1:48Deuteronomy 18:9-19:8.
- 1:55When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, be very careful
- 1:58not to imitate the detestable customs of the nations
- 2:02living there. For example, never sacrifice
- 2:06your son or daughter as a burnt offering, and do not let
- 2:09your people practice fortune-telling or use sorcery. Or interpret omens,
- 2:14or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function
- 2:18as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits
- 2:22of the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable
- 2:26to the Lord. It is because the other nations have done these detestable
- 2:30things that the Lord your God will drive them out ahead of you.
- 2:34But you must be blameless before the Lord your God.
- 2:38The nations you are about to displace consult sorcerers and
- 2:43fortune-tellers. But the Lord your God forbids you to do such things.
- 2:48Moses continued, the Lord your God will raise up
- 2:51for you a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites.
- 2:56You must listen to him.
- 2:59For this is what you yourselves requested of the Lord your God
- 3:03when you were assembled at Mount Sinai. You said, don't let us
- 3:07hear the voice of the Lord our God anymore, or see this blazing fire,
- 3:12for we will die. Then the Lord said to me,
- 3:16what they have said is right. I will raise up a
- 3:20prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites. I will
- 3:23put my words in his mouth, and he will tell the people everything I command
- 3:28him. I will personally deal with anyone
- 3:32who will not listen to the messages the prophet proclaims.
- 3:36On my behalf.
- 3:41But any prophet who falsely claims to speak in my name,
- 3:44or who speaks in the name of another god, must die.
- 3:50But you may wonder, how will we know whether or not a prophecy is
- 3:54from the Lord? If the prophet speaks in the Lord's
- 3:58name but his prediction does not happen or come true, you will know that
- 4:02the Lord did not give that message. That prophet has spoken without my authority and
- 4:06need not not be feared.
- 4:14When the Lord your God destroys the nations whose land he is giving you,
- 4:18you will take over their land and settle in their towns and their homes.
- 4:23Then you must set apart 3 cities of refuge in the land the
- 4:27Lord your God is giving you. Survey the territory
- 4:30and divide the land the Lord your God is giving you into 3 districts:
- 4:34with one of these cities in each district. Then anyone
- 4:38who has killed someone can flee to one of the cities of refuge for safety.
- 4:44If someone kills another person unintentionally,
- 4:47without previous hostility, the slayer may flee
- 4:51to any of these cities to live in safety.
- 4:54For example, suppose someone goes into the forest
- 4:58with a neighbor to cut wood. And suppose one of them swings
- 5:02an axe to chop down a tree, and the axe head flies
- 5:05off the handle, killing the other person. In such
- 5:09cases, the slayer may flee to one of the cities of refuge to
- 5:12live in safety. If the distance to the
- 5:16nearest city of refuge is too far, an enraged avenger might
- 5:21be able to chase down and kill the person who caused the death.
- 5:26Then the slayer would die unfairly since he had never shown hostility
- 5:30toward the person who died. That is why I
- 5:33am commanding you to set aside 3 cities of refuge.
- 5:37And if the Lord your God enlarges your territory, as he swore
- 5:41to your ancestors and gives you all the land he promised them,
- 5:45you must designate 3 additional cities of refuge.
- 5:53Job 41-42:17.
- 6:09Then the Lord said to Job, do you
- 6:13still want to argue with the Almighty? You are God's critic,
- 6:18but do you have the answers? Then Job replied to the Lord,
- 6:21I am nothing. How could I ever find the answers?
- 6:26I will put my hand over my mouth in silence. I have said
- 6:29too much already. I have nothing more to say.
- 6:33Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind, Brace yourself,
- 6:37because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them. Are you
- 6:41going to discredit My justice and condemn Me so you can
- 6:45say you are right? Are you as strong as God, and can you thunder
- 6:49with a voice like his? All right then, put on your robes
- 6:53of state, your majesty and splendor. Give vent to
- 6:57your anger, let it overflow against the proud.
- 7:00Humiliate the proud with a glance,
- 7:04walk on the wicked where they stand, bury them in the
- 7:07dust, imprison them in the world of the dead.
- 7:11Then even I would praise you, for your own strength would save you.
- 7:15Take a look at the mighty hippopotamus. I made it,
- 7:19just as I made you. It eats grass like an ox.
- 7:23See its powerful loins and the muscles of its belly.
- 7:27Its tail is as straight as a cedar. The sinews
- 7:31of its thighs are tightly knit together. Its bones
- 7:34are tubes of bronze. Its limbs are bars of iron.
- 7:38It is a prime example of God's amazing handiwork.
- 7:42Only its Creator can threaten it. The mountains offer
- 7:46it their best food. Where all the wild
- 7:51animals play, it lies down under the lotus
- 7:54plants, hidden by the reeds. The lotus plants give it
- 7:59shade among the willows beside the stream. It is not disturbed
- 8:02by raging rivers, not even where the swelling Jordan rushes
- 8:07down upon it. No one can catch it off guard or put a ring
- 8:10on its nose and lead it away. Can you catch a
- 8:14crocodile with a hook or put a noose around its jaw? Can you
- 8:19tie it with a rope through the nose or pierce its jaw with a spike?
- 8:22Will it beg you for mercy or implore you for pity?
- 8:26Will it agree to work for you? Can you make it be your slave
- 8:30for life? Can you make it
- 8:33a pet like a bird or give it to your little girls to play with?
- 8:37Will merchants try to buy it? Will they sell it in their shops?
- 8:42Will its hide be hurt by darts or its head by a harpoon?
- 8:46If you lay a hand on it, you will never forget the battle that follows,
- 8:50and you will never try it again. No, it is
- 8:54useless to try to capture it. The hunter who attempts
- 8:57it will be thrown down. And since no one dares to
- 9:01disturb the crocodile, who would dare to stand up to me?
- 9:04Who will confront me and remain safe?
- 9:08Everything under heaven is mine. I want
- 9:12to emphasize the tremendous strength in the crocodile's limbs and throughout its enormous
- 9:16frame. Who can strip off its hide, and who can penetrate
- 9:20its double layer of armor? Who could pry open its jaws,
- 9:24for its teeth are terrible? The overlapping scales on its back
- 9:28make a shield. They are close together so no air
- 9:31can get between them. They lock together
- 9:35so nothing can penetrate them. When it sneezes,
- 9:38it flashes light. Its eyes are
- 9:43like the red of dawn. Fire and sparks leap from its mouth.
- 9:46Smoke streams from its nostrils like steam from a boiling
- 9:50pot on a fire of dry rushes. Yes,
- 9:53its breath would kindle coals, for flames shoot from its
- 9:58mouth. The tremendous strength in its neck strikes
- 10:02terror wherever it goes. Its flesh is hard and firm,
- 10:05not soft and fat. Its heart is as
- 10:09hard as a rock, as hard as a millstone.
- 10:13When it rises, the mighty are afraid, gripped by terror.
- 10:16No sword can stop it, nor spear, nor dart,
- 10:20nor pointed shaft. To the crocodile,
- 10:24iron is nothing but straw. And bronze is
- 10:28rotten wood. Arrows cannot make it flee; stones
- 10:32shot from a sling are as ineffective as straw.
- 10:36Clubs do no good, and it laughs at the swish of the javelins.
- 10:42Its belly is covered with scales as sharp as glass;
- 10:45they tear up the ground as it drags through the mud.
- 10:49The crocodile makes the water boil with its commotion; It churns
- 10:53the depths. The water glistens in its wake.
- 10:57One would think the sea had turned white. There is nothing
- 11:01else so fearless anywhere on earth. Of all the
- 11:05creatures, it is the proudest. It is the
- 11:08king of beasts.
- 11:12Then Job replied to the Lord, I know that You can do anything
- 11:15and no one can stop You. You ask, who is this that questions My
- 11:19wisdom with such ignorance? It is I, and I
- 11:23was talking about things I did not understand,
- 11:26things far too wonderful for me. You said, listen and I
- 11:29will speak. I have some questions for you
- 11:33and you must answer them. I had heard about you before, but now
- 11:37I have seen you with my own eyes.
- 11:42I take back everything I said, and I sit
- 11:46in dust and ashes to show My repentance.
- 11:51After the Lord had finished speaking to Job, He said to Eliphaz the Temanite,
- 11:56I am angry with you and with your 2 friends, for you have not been
- 11:59right in what you said about Me, as My servant Job
- 12:03was. Now take 7 young bulls and 7 rams
- 12:07and go to My servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves.
- 12:12My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your
- 12:15behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve.
- 12:19For you have not been right in what you said about me, as my servant
- 12:24Job was. So Eliphaz
- 12:27the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar
- 12:31the Naamanite did as the Lord commanded them.
- 12:35And the Lord accepted Job's prayer. When Job
- 12:38prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact,
- 12:44the Lord gave him twice as much as before.
- 12:50Then all his brothers, sisters, and former friends
- 12:53came and feasted with him in his home,
- 12:57and they consoled him and comforted him because of all the
- 13:01trials the Lord had brought against him. And each of them brought him a
- 13:05gift of money and a gold ring. So the Lord
- 13:08blessed Job in the second half of his life even more
- 13:13than in the beginning, for now he had 14,000 sheep,
- 13:176,000 camels, 1,000 teams
- 13:21of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys. He also
- 13:25gave Job 7 more sons and 3 more daughters. He named his first
- 13:29daughter Jemima, the second Keziah,
- 13:33and the third Karen-happuch.
- 13:36In all the land there were no other women as lovely
- 13:40as the daughters of Job.
- 13:44And their father put them into his will along with their brothers.
- 13:49Job lived 140 years after that,
- 13:52living to see 4 generations of his children and grandchildren.
- 13:57Then he died, an old man who had lived a long, good life.
- 14:132 Corinthians 5:11-21.
- 14:18It is because we— Paul and his co-workers— know
- 14:21this solemn fear of the Lord that we work so hard
- 14:25to persuade others. God knows we are sincere,
- 14:28and I hope you Corinthians know this too. Are we
- 14:32trying to pat ourselves on the back again? No, we are
- 14:36giving you a reason to be proud of us so you can answer those
- 14:40who brag about having a spectacular ministry
- 14:44rather than having a sincere heart before God.
- 14:55It seems that we are crazy. It is to bring glory to
- 14:59God, and if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit.
- 15:03Whatever we do, it is because Christ's love controls
- 15:06us. Since we believe that Christ died for everyone,
- 15:10we also believe that we have all died to the old life we used to
- 15:14live. He died for everyone so that those who
- 15:18receive this new life will no longer live to please themselves.
- 15:22Instead, they will live to please Christ, who died and was
- 15:25raised for them. So, we have stopped evaluating others
- 15:29by what the world thinks about them.
- 15:32Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that way, as though He
- 15:35were merely a human being. How differently I think about Him
- 15:40now! What this means is that those who become Christians become
- 15:44new persons. They are not the same anymore,
- 15:48for the old life is gone. A new life has
- 15:52begun. All this newness of life is from God,
- 15:56who brought us back to himself through what Christ did.
- 16:00And God has given us the task of reconciling people to him.
- 16:04For God was in Christ reconciling the world to
- 16:08himself, no longer counting people's sins against them.
- 16:12This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others.
- 16:16We are Christ's ambassadors, and God is using us to speak
- 16:20to you. We urge you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with
- 16:24you, be reconciled to God. For God made
- 16:28Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for
- 16:32our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
- 16:40Psalm 45:1-17.
- 16:45My heart overflows with a beautiful thought.
- 16:48I will recite a lovely poem to the King, for my tongue
- 16:52is like the pen of a skillful poet. You are the most
- 16:57handsome of all. Gracious words stream from your lips. God Himself
- 17:02has blessed you forever. Put on your sword, O mighty warrior.
- 17:06You are so glorious, so majestic. In your majesty,
- 17:10ride out to victory, defending truth, humility, and justice.
- 17:14Go forth to perform awe-inspiring deeds.
- 17:18Your arrows are sharp, piercing your enemies' hearts.
- 17:22The nations fall before you, lying down beneath your feet.
- 17:26Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever.
- 17:30Your royal power is expressed in justice.
- 17:33You love what is right and hate what is wrong.
- 17:37Therefore God, your God, has anointed you,
- 17:40pouring out the oil of joy on you more than anyone else.
- 17:45Your robes are perfumed with myrrh,
- 17:48aloes, and cassia. In palaces decorated with ivory,
- 17:53you are entertained by the music of harps. Kings' daughters
- 17:57are among your concubines. At your right side stands
- 18:01the queen, wearing jewelry of finest gold from Ophir.
- 18:05Listen to me, O royal daughter, take to heart what
- 18:09I say. Forget your people and your homeland far
- 18:13away. Where your royal husband delights in your
- 18:17beauty, honor him, for he is your lord.
- 18:21The princes of Tyre will shower you with gifts.
- 18:25People of great wealth will entreat your favor.
- 18:29The bride, a princess, waits within her chamber,
- 18:33dressed in a gown woven with gold. In her beautiful
- 18:37robes, she is led to the king accompanied by her
- 18:40bridesmaids. What a joyful, enthusiastic procession
- 18:45as they enter the king's palace.
- 18:49Your sons will become kings like their father.
- 18:52They will make them rulers over many lands. I will bring
- 18:56honor to your name in every generation.
- 18:59Therefore, the nations will praise you forever and ever.
- 19:05Proverbs 22:14.
- 19:09The mouth of an immoral woman is a deep pit.
- 19:13Those living under the Lord's displeasure will fall into it.
- 19:20I want to speak to you today from our reading from Deuteronomy chapter 18,
- 19:24and then we're going to jump into Psalm 45.
- 19:28And in Deuteronomy 18, we have what I call a
- 19:31Jesus sighting. He's there
- 19:35in our reading today. In Deuteronomy chapter
- 19:3918, verse 15, it is written, Moses continued,
- 19:44the Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like
- 19:48me from among your fellow Israelites. You must
- 19:51listen to him. This is a direct
- 19:55reference to Jesus, to Yeshua.
- 19:59It goes on to say in verse 18, I will raise
- 20:02up a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites.
- 20:07I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell the people
- 20:11everything I command him.
- 20:14How do we know that this is in fact pointing us to Jesus?
- 20:19In Revelation chapter 19, verse 10,
- 20:22it is written, and I fell at His feet to worship Him.
- 20:26That is Jesus. And he said to me, see that
- 20:31you do not do it.
- 20:38In Revelation 19:10, it is written, and I fell
- 20:42at his feet to worship him. Who was that person? That was
- 20:45an angel. John fell at the feet of an angel,
- 20:49and he, the angel, said to me, see that
- 20:53you do not do it. I am your fellow servant,
- 20:57and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus.
- 21:01Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus
- 21:06is the spirit of prophecy.
- 21:10So that's basically giving us a definition. The testimony
- 21:14of Jesus is the spirit of
- 21:18prophecy. And so that verse back in Deuteronomy
- 21:22chapter 18, verse 15 is a
- 21:26direct signpost pointing us to Jesus,
- 21:30to Yeshua. Basically, He's promising,
- 21:35the Lord is saying, I'm going to raise up a prophet like you, Moses,
- 21:39from among your fellow Israelites, and you must
- 21:43listen to Him. And Jesus is of the
- 21:47tribe of Judah. He is Jewish.
- 21:52Okay, now I want to go into Psalm 45.
- 21:55Psalm 45 is a bridal wedding
- 22:00kind of a song. It is all about this beautiful
- 22:04picture of a bride who is betrothed to
- 22:08her bridegroom. And in fact, it is the Bride of Christ that
- 22:13is being spoken of here.
- 22:17And basically it is saying, listen to me, O royal
- 22:21daughter, in verse 10, take to heart what I say. This is speaking
- 22:26to us, to each and every one of us, for we are the
- 22:30Bride of Christ, and there is a wedding day coming,
- 22:34coming soon. Forget your people and
- 22:37your family far away, for your royal husband delights
- 22:42in your beauty. Honor him,
- 22:45for he is your Lord.
- 22:49The princess of Tyre will shower you with gifts. The wealthy will beg for
- 22:54your favor. The bride, a princess,
- 22:58looks glorious in her golden gown. In her
- 23:02beautiful robes. She is led to the King accompanied
- 23:07by her bridesmaids. What a joyful and enthusiastic
- 23:11procession as they enter the King's palace!
- 23:15Beloved, there is a wedding coming! Now we see
- 23:19through a glass darkly. We get little glimpses
- 23:23and shadows of Jesus.
- 23:28But there's a day coming when we will behold Him
- 23:32face to face, when the veil,
- 23:35the bridal veil, will be lifted and we will behold
- 23:39Him face to face. The wedding is coming and
- 23:43it is soon, and beloved, it's time to invite
- 23:47people to the wedding. Remember the parable
- 23:51of the wedding. In Matthew 22,
- 23:56the parable of the wedding. As it is written,
- 23:59the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged
- 24:03a marriage for his son and sent out his servants to call
- 24:07those who were invited to the wedding, and they were not willing
- 24:10to come. Again he sent out other servants, saying,
- 24:14tell those who are invited, see, I have prepared my
- 24:19dinner, my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things
- 24:22are ready. Come to the wedding. But they made light of it
- 24:26and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his
- 24:30business. And the rest seized his servants,
- 24:33treated them spitefully, and killed them.
- 24:37But when the king heard about it, he was furious, and he sent out
- 24:40his armies and destroyed those murderers and burned up their city.
- 24:45Then he said to his servants, the wedding is ready,
- 24:48But those who were invited were not worthy.
- 24:52Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you
- 24:56find, invite them to the wedding.
- 25:01So the servants went out into the highways and gathered together
- 25:04all whom they found, both bad and good, and the wedding
- 25:08hall was filled with guests.
- 25:12Beloved, It is time to invite people to the
- 25:16wedding. Jesus is returning and He's
- 25:19returning soon. I believe He will be returning in our
- 25:24lifetime, in this generation. Be about
- 25:28the Father's business and invite people to the wedding.
- 25:33And be encouraged, there is a day coming
- 25:37when we will behold Him face to face.
- 25:41The veil will be lifted and we will see
- 25:45him face to face. The wedding is coming. Have a blessed
- 25:49day and we'll see you tomorrow. Shalom.
- 26:10Yeah, yeah,
- 26:14yeah.
- 26:55The Aaronic Blessing from Numbers chapter 6,
- 26:5824 to 26.
- 27:02Adonai bless you and keep you. Adonai make
- 27:06his face to shine upon you and be gracious to
- 27:10you. Adonai lift up his countenance upon you
- 27:14and give you peace.
