Speaker 3: Hello, ladies and gentlemen.
• 0:49
Speaker 4: You've got the crew, Carl Lee, Hallas Lewis, Lisa Odie.
• 0:53
Speaker 3: We're all here. And just before we got on air,
• 0:59
  Speaker 3: there was a.
• 0:59
Speaker 4: Commnversation that I overheard about a good super Bowl, that
• 1:05
Speaker 4: it was really good.
• 1:07
Speaker 3: So I'm gonna which one of you.
• 1:11
Speaker 4: All want to start it out and give me your
• 1:14
Speaker 4: reason for it, because we are so far apart.
• 1:17
Speaker 5: Well, I thought it was good just from the standpoint
• 1:21
Speaker 5: that again, if you look at Philly's defensive philosophy, I mean,
• 1:27
Speaker 5: it's amazing that they were able to do what they
• 1:30
  Speaker 5: did without blitzing.
• 1:33
Speaker 3: They didn't blitz one time and had six sacts. They
• 1:36
  Speaker 3: said that they didn't. I can't.
• 1:40
  Speaker 4: I can't argue that point. But I thought I saw
• 1:43
Speaker 4: some guys coming off the edge. But but but but
• 1:45
Speaker 4: maybe not, but maybe not.
• 1:47
Speaker 5: I think they had one like what you can say
• 1:49
Speaker 5: is a blitz towards the end of the fourth quarter.
• 1:52
Speaker 5: They had an odd front, so they had a three
• 1:53
Speaker 5: man front and somebody came off, but that still be
• 1:56
  Speaker 5: four man rush.
• 1:57
Speaker 3: Yes, this four man rushing.
• 1:58
Speaker 5: I don't know if the constitution is a blitz, but
• 2:00
Speaker 5: that doesn't I thought the game plan was executed perfectly,
• 2:03
Speaker 5: and the fact that they were able to do what
• 2:04
Speaker 5: they did to Patrick.
• 2:05
Speaker 6: Mahomes was just they man handled him.
• 2:07
Speaker 4: Yeah, so okay, So because of how well Philly played
• 2:15
Speaker 4: it was that was it? That which is justified to
• 2:17
Speaker 4: make that a good game, just because no one has
• 2:20
Speaker 4: been able to shut Homes down and all of a sudden,
• 2:23
Speaker 4: here comes Philly and they beat him down. So okay,
• 2:26
Speaker 4: I can give you that. Okay, now these I'm still
• 2:30
Speaker 4: waiting where he goes?
• 2:31
  Speaker 2: You go?
• 2:32
  Speaker 7: And I think a little bit probably, I don't know
• 2:34
Speaker 7: if hollis I think We've discussed the chief fatigue on
• 2:37
Speaker 7: here before, but it was the end of a dynasty.
• 2:40
Speaker 7: And it's kind of like, I don't know about you guys,
• 2:43
Speaker 7: but the party I was at, everybody cheered every time
• 2:45
Speaker 7: my homes went down. It was just that kind of vibe,
• 2:49
Speaker 7: you know, just to see the end of something. It
• 2:51
Speaker 7: was kind of like when the Patriots kind of started
• 2:53
Speaker 7: to meet their demise. You know, everybody's tired of seeing
• 2:57
Speaker 7: that same team, the same song and dance at the
• 2:59
Speaker 7: suit every year, and just to see another team come
• 3:02
Speaker 7: in and do what they did to that whole offense,
• 3:05
  Speaker 7: it was.
• 3:06
Speaker 6: It was magical. I mean, I'm just gonna sit here
• 3:08
  Speaker 6: and put it.
• 3:09
Speaker 7: I'm just gonna put it out there. And I was
• 3:10
Speaker 7: also really happy for Jalen Hurts.
• 3:12
  Speaker 3: Sure.
• 3:13
Speaker 7: I mean, you know, he's overcome a lot of adversity
• 3:15
Speaker 7: throughout the year, starting with his collegiate play. You know,
• 3:18
Speaker 7: he was benched during the College Football Championship, you know,
• 3:21
Speaker 7: during the Alabama game. Then he had to leave there
• 3:23
Speaker 7: go to Oklahoma to become the starter of a team.
• 3:27
Speaker 7: You know, he's overcome so much. I think he was
• 3:30
Speaker 7: drafted like second round for a backup, so to think
• 3:33
Speaker 7: that he's overcome all of that and become the MVP
• 3:36
Speaker 7: of the super Bowl.
• 3:37
Speaker 6: To me, that was a great story.
• 3:38
Speaker 4: That's kind of like a shut up everybody. You know,
• 3:41
  Speaker 4: that's to shut up everybody. And I don't think that's
• 3:44
Speaker 4: his personality now actually come across that way. But for me,
• 3:49
Speaker 4: I'm looking at that and and what it shows is
• 3:54
Speaker 4: like you really don't know until you give that person
• 3:56
Speaker 4: that a true opportunity, and he has to have some
• 4:00
Speaker 4: thing around him. Nobody know, the greatest guy by himself
• 4:04
Speaker 4: is not gonna be He's not gonna show up great.
• 4:06
Speaker 3: It's just not gonna It's just not gonna be that. Now.
• 4:10
Speaker 4: Okay, So I thought I was I was rooting for
• 4:15
Speaker 4: for Philly. I thought Kansas City was gonna win, and
• 4:19
Speaker 4: I had I had, I had said that on the
• 4:22
Speaker 4: last show and then said, but I want Philip. Now
• 4:25
Speaker 4: what I did not get to your point, Hollins, I
• 4:29
Speaker 4: did not. I did not see that defense coming, not
• 4:33
Speaker 4: not to that, not not not no, and not against
• 4:37
  Speaker 4: Kansas City.
• 4:39
  Speaker 3: Never.
• 4:39
Speaker 4: They've never, at any given time since the Mahomes era
• 4:44
Speaker 4: era have they had anybody like I mean, they were
• 4:48
  Speaker 4: beating him down.
• 4:49
Speaker 5: Well, I think the Rams did it when they won
• 4:51
Speaker 5: the Super Bowl against when they beat the Chiefs in
• 4:54
  Speaker 5: the Super Bowl.
• 4:54
  Speaker 3: They did it.
• 4:55
Speaker 5: But the Rams also had probably win to the greatest
• 4:57
Speaker 5: defensive lineman in Aaron Donalds. So we we're not We're
• 5:00
Speaker 5: not necessarily that wasn't necessarily the case for Philly. It
• 5:03
Speaker 5: was just like I said, I didn't see that coming
• 5:05
Speaker 5: that you would have pure domination. And although, like I said,
• 5:08
Speaker 5: Jalen Hursts he deserved. He did a phenomenal job. The
• 5:11
Speaker 5: MVP was a defensive line sure, and I wish we
• 5:15
Speaker 5: could give out some real MVPs the MVP.
• 5:17
Speaker 3: Yes, here's what I hit to your point, because his
• 5:23
  Speaker 3: play hurts.
• 5:24
Speaker 4: He like, man, he played, he did well, okay, there
• 5:28
Speaker 4: you why but the defense run that game. The defense
• 5:32
Speaker 4: won that game. Now I'm thinking we've got to do
• 5:36
Speaker 4: a better job or do we just go out and
• 5:40
Speaker 4: you know, we everybody talks about like you know, everybody
• 5:43
Speaker 4: gets a trophy. But I'm thinking that in this particular game,
• 5:48
Speaker 4: there has to be some kind of an m v
• 5:50
Speaker 4: P on the on an offense and defensive side of it.
• 5:55
Speaker 4: To me, almost got to do it, Like why can't
• 5:57
Speaker 4: we just do it?
• 5:57
Speaker 5: Because even like the NFL MVP psych on Barkley was
• 6:00
Speaker 5: the NFL MVP. Sure, I don't care what you say.
• 6:03
Speaker 5: Josh Allen was, I'm where Jackson wasn't?
• 6:06
  Speaker 3: It was?
• 6:07
Speaker 5: Yes, it was the NFL that team to so they
• 6:11
Speaker 5: could get to the point in which they want to
• 6:13
Speaker 5: put themself in a position to win a super Bowl.
• 6:16
Speaker 5: And just like in the Super Bowl and defensive line.
• 6:18
Speaker 5: So just give it to the right person. We don't
• 6:20
Speaker 5: need to create more awards.
• 6:22
Speaker 4: Just do right and I and I hate as much
• 6:25
Speaker 4: as I hate to have to agree with it, I
• 6:27
Speaker 4: gotta go with you on that because it's just.
• 6:31
Speaker 3: And and again I'll make this case.
• 6:34
Speaker 4: We're watching, We're watching right, and the fan base is watching.
• 6:38
Speaker 4: Everybody who's interested in the game. We're looking at it,
• 6:41
Speaker 4: and the person who's picking it or the group that's
• 6:45
  Speaker 4: picking what are.
• 6:46
  Speaker 3: You looking at?
• 6:47
Speaker 6: What are you looking at?
• 6:48
Speaker 4: Because everybody's saying the same thing. This is not the
• 6:51
Speaker 4: first time I've heard this conversation. I'm sure both of
• 6:54
Speaker 4: you had this conversation with everybody to talk to since
• 6:56
  Speaker 4: the game.
• 6:58
Speaker 7: I think it goes back to what we were saying
• 7:00
Speaker 7: in previous shows about the quarterback position is sexy. You know,
• 7:04
Speaker 7: and and and that's what people, uh, the layman fan
• 7:08
Speaker 7: that doesn't really know a lot about the NFL or
• 7:10
Speaker 7: doesn't understand the game of football. I should say, that's
• 7:13
Speaker 7: who they focus on. And so when they're giving out
• 7:15
Speaker 7: these awards, they're basically looking at those players that the
• 7:20
Speaker 7: crowd's going to recognize over others fans.
• 7:25
Speaker 5: Percent and and you when you saying that, I think
• 7:28
Speaker 5: to answer your question earlier, because list have just made
• 7:30
Speaker 5: me think of something. The reason why this game was
• 7:32
Speaker 5: fun I was watching it with was fun to watch.
• 7:35
Speaker 5: I was watching it with a college football coach. So
• 7:37
Speaker 5: I'm watching it with coach Pennington at State and he's
• 7:40
  Speaker 5: breaking it down.
• 7:41
Speaker 3: Like we're calling that we're breaking like he's giving me.
• 7:46
Speaker 5: Basically, we turned that super Bowl party into a film state.
• 7:50
Speaker 6: So that's no fun. Were the snacks okay?
• 7:55
Speaker 5: Okay, so we're definitely doing that, But we basically turned
• 7:58
Speaker 5: their NFL party into a film session. So I think
• 8:00
Speaker 5: that's what it was fun for me to watch because
• 8:02
Speaker 5: we're just breaking it down.
• 8:03
Speaker 4: And seeing I could I could see absolutely like enjoying that,
• 8:07
Speaker 4: you know, to sit with, you know, like a coach,
• 8:09
Speaker 4: a legitimate coach. That's that the game, knows the game
• 8:13
Speaker 4: and listening to listening to him. Now, me, my, my,
• 8:20
Speaker 4: Fortunately for me, I'm watching the game with Chuck Foreman.
• 8:24
Speaker 4: And for those who do not know Chuck Foreman, Chuck,
• 8:26
Speaker 4: Chuck Foreman was back for the Vikings. And he's the
• 8:32
Speaker 4: gentleman who created the spin moves. Oh yeah, yeah, he
• 8:37
Speaker 4: is the Yeah, he is the he is what they
• 8:40
Speaker 4: call the spin doctor.
• 8:41
Speaker 3: Okay, the spend Doctor. That's that's his nickname, the spin doctor.
• 8:46
Speaker 4: We we we were sitting and we were watching the game,
• 8:50
Speaker 4: and we didn't get a chance to like really like
• 8:52
Speaker 4: dig down into it. But a couple of things that
• 8:56
Speaker 4: he was saying, you know, about like running the football.
• 9:01
Speaker 4: He says that running the football still today will win
• 9:05
Speaker 4: you a football game, you know. But because the quarterback
• 9:11
Speaker 4: has to throw the ball in order to be great.
• 9:14
  Speaker 3: You know.
• 9:15
Speaker 4: Now, if he scrambles, he's good. If he scam scrambles
• 9:18
Speaker 4: and he throws the ball, now he's he's he's.
• 9:22
Speaker 6: Special, top of the class.
• 9:24
Speaker 3: And what is everybody like to see?
• 9:26
Speaker 4: Though nobody really likes the ground in pau They don't
• 9:30
Speaker 4: really for the most part.
• 9:31
Speaker 3: Most people are caught up in the passing game. I
• 9:34
Speaker 3: think they're caught up in it.
• 9:35
Speaker 5: But like even to your point, like when me and
• 9:38
Speaker 5: coach Coach Penningson I were watching the game and we're saying,
• 9:41
Speaker 5: because if you look at it, Jalen heart Hurts, he
• 9:43
Speaker 5: had like seventy plus yards run. Yes, So we're saying
• 9:47
Speaker 5: until your point, I mean, I'll give you credit for
• 9:49
Speaker 5: this because you said it at the beginning of the season.
• 9:51
Speaker 5: That will excuse me. Even last year during the offseason
• 9:54
Speaker 5: free agency, you said why you wouldn't sign this Dak
• 9:56
Speaker 5: Prescott because he couldn't run the ball. When you look
• 9:59
Speaker 5: at Jaylen Hurt, he's the prototypical pro quarterback now again.
• 10:03
Speaker 5: And I say that not because you're not going to
• 10:06
Speaker 5: get a Patrick Mahomes.
• 10:07
  Speaker 4: That's a once in a generation. He's a different he's
• 10:10
Speaker 4: a different runner from that.
• 10:11
Speaker 5: But what I'm saying standpoint to throw the ball, disability run,
• 10:15
Speaker 5: he's different, He's on another level. But I'm saying, if
• 10:18
Speaker 5: you looking at a prototypical quarterback who can give you
• 10:21
Speaker 5: the perfect balance of being able to throw, make good
• 10:24
Speaker 5: decisions and knowing when to run and running effectively, Jalen
• 10:28
Speaker 5: Hurts is the prototypical.
• 10:29
Speaker 4: Quarterback and the and the reality, yes, and and and
• 10:34
Speaker 4: the reality to that is, you know there's like they
• 10:37
Speaker 4: their quarterback runs for him, specifically quarterback runs for him. Sure,
• 10:42
Speaker 4: so they're not he doesn't have to scramp, he ain't
• 10:44
Speaker 4: scrambling out of the pocket. They're making sure that you
• 10:47
Speaker 4: are all the time have to worry about him. You
• 10:51
Speaker 4: got to play eleven on eleven. You can't say, well,
• 10:54
Speaker 4: he'll scramble and run. No, there's a play for him
• 10:57
  Speaker 4: to run.
• 10:58
  Speaker 3: As a player.
• 10:58
Speaker 4: And I think when you're put that in, I think
• 11:01
Speaker 4: that's when you know you've got something. So to me,
• 11:05
Speaker 4: I think you know, Philly was they were smart enough
• 11:08
Speaker 4: to think, well, hey we can get Jayalen, we can
• 11:12
Speaker 4: give him some runs. And we think that you know,
• 11:14
Speaker 4: they're gonna have to focus on that. And again that
• 11:17
Speaker 4: also slows your d line down. Yeah, because if you
• 11:21
Speaker 4: know you got a running quarterback, a design play, you're
• 11:25
Speaker 4: not just pass rushing.
• 11:27
Speaker 7: Well, I will I will tell you this the post
• 11:29
Speaker 7: press conference, the presser after the Super Bowl, Jalen did
• 11:32
Speaker 7: give credit. He said one of his comments was defense
• 11:35
Speaker 7: wins championships, So he did give credit to his defensive line.
• 11:38
Speaker 7: So to you know, to that point that I thought
• 11:40
Speaker 7: that was a good thing for him to do.
• 11:42
Speaker 3: I hear nobody say that again.
• 11:45
Speaker 5: Offense don't win the championship this defense because that defense dominated.
• 11:49
Speaker 3: I'm talking about they.
• 11:50
Speaker 5: Dominated the best quarterback of this generation just I mean
• 11:54
Speaker 5: even the picks, even the interception he threw when they
• 11:57
Speaker 5: were backed up in their territory closer on a goal line,
• 12:00
Speaker 5: got bumped, the defensive lineman took the offensive linement and
• 12:04
Speaker 5: rented into mahomes. He didn't even touch my homes. He
• 12:08
Speaker 5: got bumped, and then he made an errand throw because
• 12:10
Speaker 5: of that. I mean, it was just phenomenal to watch,
• 12:13
Speaker 5: like a defensive front in totality be that dominant.
• 12:18
Speaker 4: Did you all see the body language of Kansas City?
• 12:24
Speaker 3: I mean it, I mean it got bad quick.
• 12:28
Speaker 6: They were like in shock.
• 12:30
Speaker 7: I mean they just couldn't believe that a team was
• 12:32
Speaker 7: actually doing what they were doing to them. In my opinion,
• 12:35
Speaker 7: I mean, they were just like, what is going on here?
• 12:37
Speaker 7: We've never seen a team like this?
• 12:39
Speaker 4: I mean honestly, it amazed me. Yeah, and you know,
• 12:43
Speaker 4: and Hollis, you know this as well as anybody. When
• 12:46
Speaker 4: things ain't going well and the quarterbacks getting hit and
• 12:50
Speaker 4: throwing them all bad. A lot of times folks wanted,
• 12:53
Speaker 4: you know, the linemen wanted like, well, like dude, you
• 12:55
Speaker 4: got to do something, and you and then everybody else
• 12:58
Speaker 4: is talking about, hey, the old line y'all.
• 12:59
Speaker 3: Got to do some protection you that breakup. It does
• 13:03
Speaker 3: not take long to happen.
• 13:05
Speaker 5: And to your point, that you made like what Philly
• 13:07
Speaker 5: was able to do running the ball, and they wore
• 13:09
Speaker 5: the Kansas City Chiefs offensive excuse me, defensive line down.
• 13:13
Speaker 5: The Chiefs didn't have a counter for that. They and
• 13:16
Speaker 5: I think that's probably gonna be a point in this
• 13:18
Speaker 5: off season. They're gonna find him running back that you
• 13:21
Speaker 5: got to find me a running back because you can't
• 13:23
Speaker 5: do that to me where I have to throw fifty.
• 13:25
  Speaker 3: Times a game.
• 13:26
Speaker 6: One dimensional doesn't work.
• 13:27
Speaker 5: One dimension don't work when you're getting dominated and you
• 13:29
Speaker 5: don't have like like I said, and even the Chiefs
• 13:32
Speaker 5: of the receiver, they got pretty good receivers, but they
• 13:34
Speaker 5: don't have that good possession, uh Brown that you know
• 13:38
  Speaker 5: Philly has.
• 13:38
Speaker 3: I have that guy.
• 13:40
Speaker 4: Yeah, And to your and to that point, it's gonna
• 13:44
Speaker 4: be hard, you know, if teams have to find a
• 13:49
Speaker 4: running quarterback that can run like Jalen Hurts or Patrick Mahomes.
• 13:54
Speaker 3: Right, like, if that's the guy you gotta have, that's
• 13:57
  Speaker 3: my thought.
• 13:57
Speaker 4: You gotta have it, you know, you got to have it.
• 14:00
Speaker 4: But you're not gonna get it. But you're not gonna
• 14:01
Speaker 4: get to that level and to that point. But I've
• 14:06
Speaker 4: got to make sure my my old offensive line can
• 14:10
Speaker 4: pass block or run block. And I gotta get me.
• 14:13
Speaker 4: I gotta get me a running back.
• 14:15
Speaker 5: I think that's the point. You gotta get a run.
• 14:17
Speaker 5: You got to get a running back. You gotta make
• 14:19
Speaker 5: me worry about the running back.
• 14:21
Speaker 3: At least a little bit.
• 14:22
Speaker 7: But don't they also have to look at that offensive line.
• 14:24
  Speaker 7: I mean, don't they have to Maybe I don't know.
• 14:26
Speaker 7: I mean that it seemed to me that you saw
• 14:28
Speaker 7: some chinks in the armor of the Kansas City Chiefs.
• 14:30
  Speaker 6: I mean, I'm.
• 14:31
Speaker 4: Gonna say this too, they would hurt too, though, I'm
• 14:33
Speaker 4: gonna say this to that, and I'm curious to what
• 14:36
Speaker 4: you all say back. I just don't know if if
• 14:41
Speaker 4: anybody could have dealt with that defensive line. I just
• 14:45
Speaker 4: think Philly's d line because again, you go back in
• 14:47
Speaker 4: the season, case was fine.
• 14:51
Speaker 3: You know they can they can, they can protect them
• 14:53
  Speaker 3: and all.
• 14:54
Speaker 6: This kind of the defense like that.
• 14:55
  Speaker 3: But that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.
• 14:57
Speaker 5: But you also had a guard planing tackle, so and
• 15:00
Speaker 5: I think that when you when that happens to you.
• 15:03
Speaker 5: And again, what people don't to your point least, if
• 15:05
Speaker 5: you don't really know football, you may think, well, office
• 15:08
Speaker 5: line is the office lineman.
• 15:09
  Speaker 3: No.
• 15:09
Speaker 4: Now, guard and tackle are two different position, totally different,
• 15:13
Speaker 4: and it's two different movements. So when you have a
• 15:16
Speaker 4: guard that you have to move him to you, I
• 15:18
Speaker 4: think you're right tackle, it's gonna be a long day.
• 15:20
Speaker 5: So I don't know if so much. You got to
• 15:22
Speaker 5: go out and get a new lineman. I think you
• 15:24
Speaker 5: got to get healthy. You may need some some backups.
• 15:27
Speaker 7: Well, and they're gonna lose, possibly lose Travis Kelce this year, correct.
• 15:31
Speaker 7: I mean he's talking about retirement. He has, he's been
• 15:34
Speaker 7: noncommittal about it. He's probably one of his best receivers.
• 15:37
Speaker 7: I mean, I know we've talked about how many of
• 15:39
Speaker 7: his receivers are about on the same level.
• 15:40
  Speaker 6: I would think.
• 15:41
Speaker 7: Travis is probably probably the best that he's got to
• 15:43
Speaker 7: throw to. So that's a hole they'll have to definitely,
• 15:47
Speaker 7: you know, look at to Phil.
• 15:48
Speaker 3: But do you think that was after a game, after
• 15:51
  Speaker 3: game emotions?
• 15:52
  Speaker 7: It's a little bit's been He's been kind of hinting
• 15:55
Speaker 7: at it all seasons.
• 15:56
Speaker 6: Now this this may have been the nail in the
• 15:58
Speaker 6: coffin with this skin. But because he looked pretty pretty
• 16:02
Speaker 6: pretty upset after the game, they all did.
• 16:04
Speaker 4: But yeah, well, well mister Lewis has to step out.
• 16:08
Speaker 4: He's got some business to take care of. So these
• 16:11
Speaker 4: it's me and you, Okay, all right, but but I
• 16:14
Speaker 4: really you know, when I when I watched the game,
• 16:18
  Speaker 4: and I was, and I and and to u A's
• 16:20
Speaker 4: point that that I could be wrong, could be wrong,
• 16:24
Speaker 4: could be wrong, could be wrong on this Hollis come by,
• 16:31
  Speaker 4: I think what what I what I what I saw?
• 16:36
Speaker 4: What what made it not a good game? What what
• 16:39
Speaker 4: I was judging the game off of? Was I didn't
• 16:42
Speaker 4: see the Chiefs offense. I didn't see my homes.
• 16:48
  Speaker 3: Be that guy.
• 16:49
Speaker 6: He didn't have any chance to be that guy exactly.
• 16:52
Speaker 4: And and now that I'm now that we're going through
• 16:54
Speaker 4: this process, you know, now I got to think about it. Well,
• 16:57
Speaker 4: you know, this was the maybe maybe the first time
• 17:02
Speaker 4: that a defense totally.
• 17:05
Speaker 3: Took him out of his game, I think it was.
• 17:08
Speaker 3: And I'm not even gonna say just.
• 17:10
Speaker 4: Him, but just absolutely destroyed that offensive philosophy to no end.
• 17:16
Speaker 7: But when you suffer six socks in the Super Bowl,
• 17:20
Speaker 7: I bet he hurt the next day.
• 17:21
Speaker 6: And I'm not talking just mentally.
• 17:22
Speaker 7: I bet physically because they took him down, and they
• 17:25
Speaker 7: took him down hard.
• 17:26
Speaker 4: But I'm I'm one of the interesting to yes, physically.
• 17:30
Speaker 4: But what's interesting to me is you've been this guy
• 17:35
Speaker 4: for this X amount of years, you know, and all
• 17:38
Speaker 4: of a sudden this shows up. You couldn't have There's
• 17:42
Speaker 4: no way he came out expect expecting that or even
• 17:46
Speaker 4: thinking this is remotely gonna be how this game's gonna
• 17:49
Speaker 4: be right? Right? And then all of a sudden he's
• 17:51
Speaker 4: going through that. What is he thinking. I don't think
• 17:56
Speaker 4: he's the blame guy. I don't think he's gonna you know,
• 17:58
  Speaker 4: I don't think I don't see him he's the blame guy.
• 18:00
Speaker 4: But I can blame the line.
• 18:03
Speaker 6: That would be my focus.
• 18:05
  Speaker 3: I would line.
• 18:06
Speaker 7: And if there were injuries, I didn't realize that a policy.
• 18:09
Speaker 7: You know what he stated, and I'm sure it's true
• 18:11
Speaker 7: if he stated it, but you know, one injury now
• 18:14
Speaker 7: if it was you know, more than one injury on
• 18:16
Speaker 7: the line, possibly you could see that would be this
• 18:19
Speaker 7: would be the effect of that. But if it's only
• 18:21
Speaker 7: like one guy that had to switch positions, that doesn't
• 18:25
Speaker 7: explain how the Eagles could get through.
• 18:27
Speaker 3: Well here's here's part of that.
• 18:29
Speaker 4: Okay, So you've got a guy playing out of position,
• 18:31
Speaker 4: you got a backup coming in to play his business.
• 18:33
Speaker 6: That's two. That's really two positions.
• 18:36
Speaker 4: And I don't know if they were on the same side,
• 18:39
Speaker 4: But I don't know if it really would have made
• 18:42
Speaker 4: any difference with the way that line, the way they
• 18:45
Speaker 4: were coming, the way they were playing defense as aggressiveness
• 18:49
Speaker 4: like were I just don't know if their normal guy
• 18:54
Speaker 4: if two and I believe two guys can hurt you,
• 18:56
Speaker 4: it can get especially on the line.
• 18:58
Speaker 3: It can, it can, it can.
• 19:00
Speaker 7: And it didn't look like the guys were confused about
• 19:03
Speaker 7: where they should be.
• 19:04
Speaker 6: I just think they got manhanded.
• 19:05
Speaker 4: Yes, I think that's and the interesting the interesting thing
• 19:08
Speaker 4: to that is, would that have happened if you know,
• 19:12
Speaker 4: again the other you know, I'm playing my regular position
• 19:17
Speaker 4: and the guy that's out is back in.
• 19:19
Speaker 3: Are we are we that much better of.
• 19:21
Speaker 4: A team against this this d line who made us
• 19:25
Speaker 4: look like we were nothing.
• 19:28
Speaker 7: Well, you know, if you think about throughout the season,
• 19:30
Speaker 7: the Chiefs had a couple of suspect games. I mean,
• 19:32
Speaker 7: they they weren't the dominating Chiefs that we've come to
• 19:35
Speaker 7: know over the past couple of years.
• 19:36
  Speaker 6: They had some.
• 19:37
Speaker 7: Really close games with teams. It wasn't like it it
• 19:41
Speaker 7: has been in the past. So they kind of you
• 19:43
Speaker 7: kind of got that vibe that when this game started
• 19:46
Speaker 7: that if the Eagles could play defense and get to
• 19:50
Speaker 7: him with it being a one dimensional type of offense,
• 19:53
Speaker 7: which you know, I agree with Hollis they need a
• 19:55
Speaker 7: running back, they really do, but being that one dimensional
• 19:59
Speaker 7: pas game, once the Eagles figured that out, it was done.
• 20:02
Speaker 3: They were cooked, especially once they got up Yeah.
• 20:05
Speaker 6: Yeah, sure, I mean it was like what twenty four
• 20:07
Speaker 6: to nothing at half?
• 20:09
Speaker 3: Do you do you see?
• 20:12
Speaker 4: Do you see Kansas City changing? Do you see what
• 20:17
Speaker 4: are what are your changes?
• 20:21
Speaker 3: Or did we just have a bad day right right?
• 20:25
Speaker 7: I would like to explore more information on the offensive
• 20:28
Speaker 7: line situation and how many players were out of position
• 20:31
Speaker 7: and trying to, you know, take care of that, But
• 20:34
Speaker 7: then you'd also have to look back at games where
• 20:36
Speaker 7: everybody was playing in their original positions and see how
• 20:39
Speaker 7: that worked out for the offensive line. But honestly, I
• 20:42
Speaker 7: really feel like they definitely need to look at their
• 20:44
Speaker 7: running game. They've got to establish a type of running
• 20:46
Speaker 7: game with some type of running back, and they definitely
• 20:49
Speaker 7: have to look at the offensive line, you know, to
• 20:51
Speaker 7: a degree. You know, maybe it was that played a part,
• 20:54
Speaker 7: but to me, that was such a domination. I don't
• 20:57
Speaker 7: think that was the total reason.
• 20:59
  Speaker 4: I don't know, and I didn't watch it, you know,
• 21:02
Speaker 4: I hadn't seen Philly really play, probably prior to the playoffs,
• 21:09
Speaker 4: But that to me, against what was considered the best
• 21:14
Speaker 4: let's say, the best other team, right, it was. I mean,
• 21:20
Speaker 4: it was dominating. It was it was.
• 21:23
Speaker 7: Do you like close games, It wasn't for you, But
• 21:26
Speaker 7: if you like to watch the domination.
• 21:27
Speaker 6: Of the Chiefs, it was a good game.
• 21:31
Speaker 7: Most of America really they were on that bandwagon. I mean, like,
• 21:34
Speaker 7: like we've talked before, people were tired of it. They
• 21:36
Speaker 7: were tired of the hype, they were tired of it. Honestly,
• 21:39
Speaker 7: they were tired of the things that were going on
• 21:41
Speaker 7: outside of the games with you.
• 21:42
  Speaker 6: Know, Taylor Swift.
• 21:44
Speaker 7: I mean, I'm a Taylor Swift fan, but people were
• 21:47
Speaker 7: tired of hearing about her and seeing her and all
• 21:49
Speaker 7: the hype and you know, just things outside Patrick Mahomes family,
• 21:55
Speaker 7: his his wife, you know, the whole dynamic of that.
• 21:57
Speaker 7: People were just just tired of it. And you know,
• 22:01
Speaker 7: I kind of at some point, at one point, I
• 22:03
Speaker 7: did kind of feel bad for the Chiefs because they
• 22:06
Speaker 7: just looked so demoralized. They just look like they couldn't
• 22:10
Speaker 7: believe what was happening. Did you not get to see that?
• 22:12
Speaker 6: On the side of yes, there was just.
• 22:15
  Speaker 4: I don't you know, I am. I am one hundred
• 22:18
Speaker 4: percent sure at some given time during my career, from
• 22:24
Speaker 4: college or from high school, whatever, that there was some
• 22:28
Speaker 4: at some moment in time that when you lost the game,
• 22:31
Speaker 4: the NFC Championship game that we lost to the Redskins,
• 22:34
Speaker 4: Sure that was probably that could possibly be the most
• 22:40
Speaker 4: challenging moment for me because you're that one game away
• 22:45
Speaker 4: from the great Super Bowl, right and and you lose it,
• 22:50
Speaker 4: you know, and you know, and what's interesting to me
• 22:54
Speaker 4: and I'm I would not that we could ever find
• 22:56
Speaker 4: this out, but as the as the players who play
• 23:00
Speaker 4: in that game and lose, I know, for our team,
• 23:06
Speaker 4: I can't speak this for other teams, But when you
• 23:10
Speaker 4: start to try to look at the game and try
• 23:13
Speaker 4: to you know, whether you want to try to pass
• 23:15
Speaker 4: blame somewhere, Sure, it's so hard to do because in
• 23:20
Speaker 4: those games, there's there's no way you can go through
• 23:24
Speaker 4: that game and not get beat, not miss a tackle,
• 23:26
Speaker 4: not do something that could have impact, something that could
• 23:29
Speaker 4: have changed the game. You know, you give up a
• 23:32
Speaker 4: touchdown and you lose, but you didn't lose by that touchdown.
• 23:36
Speaker 4: You lost my four touchdowns and gave up one. Well, still,
• 23:39
Speaker 4: you gave up one part of that.
• 23:42
Speaker 7: Don't you think the margin of victory is also plays
• 23:45
Speaker 7: a huge factor in the mindset of the of the
• 23:47
Speaker 7: team because it wasn't just a loss by like a
• 23:50
Speaker 7: field goal. It was a dominating loss. It was an
• 23:53
Speaker 7: embarrassing Yet this loss to.
• 23:56
Speaker 4: The Chiefs maybe to me one of the biggest losses
• 24:02
Speaker 4: that I that I've seen in recent.
• 24:04
Speaker 6: Super Bowl Super Bowls.
• 24:06
Speaker 4: I agree, And I don't even go even in the playoffs,
• 24:09
Speaker 4: you know, like I just even in the season, like
• 24:12
Speaker 4: you typically kind of know who's going to win the
• 24:14
Speaker 4: game when they walk into the game, or you say,
• 24:16
Speaker 4: like everybody was saying this is gonna be a great game.
• 24:19
  Speaker 1: Right, right?
• 24:20
Speaker 6: No, it really, I mean it wasn't a close.
• 24:23
  Speaker 3: It wasn't a close.
• 24:24
Speaker 4: Game, right, and it was it was literally dominated by
• 24:28
Speaker 4: the team that everybody thought was gonna lose, right.
• 24:30
Speaker 7: And I really felt like at halftime when they went
• 24:32
Speaker 7: into the locker room down twenty six to nothing, I thought,
• 24:35
Speaker 7: or twenty four to nothing. Sorry, I really felt like, Okay,
• 24:37
Speaker 7: they're gonna come back out. You know, they're going to
• 24:40
Speaker 7: have a game plan. You know, Andy Reid's gonna, you know,
• 24:43
Speaker 7: work his magic. Patrick Mahomes is going to get some
• 24:45
Speaker 7: more time. The offensive line is going to you know,
• 24:47
Speaker 7: fill in those holes and gaps and you know, Jael
• 24:50
Speaker 7: and kind of hold the defense so that he has
• 24:53
Speaker 7: some time to throw the ball.
• 24:54
Speaker 4: It never happened, right, And and I think part of
• 24:59
Speaker 4: the reason, you know, and the hype of offense, the
• 25:04
Speaker 4: predominant fan base of offenses, quarterbacks and receivers and all
• 25:09
Speaker 4: that kind of stuff.
• 25:10
Speaker 3: I think what we what we've seen though. I think
• 25:13
  Speaker 3: what we see.
• 25:15
Speaker 4: And I keep saying it is this transition going back
• 25:19
Speaker 4: to being able to run the football.
• 25:20
Speaker 3: Yes, And what may be new to it is your.
• 25:24
Speaker 4: Quarterback is actually being part of that running system as well.
• 25:28
  Speaker 4: I think, I think and I don't think that that
• 25:31
Speaker 4: the defenses are set up to take take on the run.
• 25:36
  Speaker 3: I don't think the secondary.
• 25:39
Speaker 6: Are not yet, not yet, not yet.
• 25:41
Speaker 4: I don't think the secondary is prepared for making tackles
• 25:43
Speaker 4: of a back, you know.
• 25:45
Speaker 3: Six one, six two two thirty two forty.
• 25:48
  Speaker 4: I don't think that that's what they're That's not what
• 25:51
Speaker 4: their game playing is about.
• 25:53
Speaker 7: And that's kind of going back to what we said
• 25:55
Speaker 7: about the one dimensional offense with Patrick Mahomes and they're
• 25:58
Speaker 7: in their game with you know, passing the ball. I
• 26:00
Speaker 7: wonder if it would have been a different game if
• 26:02
Speaker 7: they'd had a solid running back that could run the
• 26:05
Speaker 7: ball and kind of take the pressure off of Patrick Mahomes.
• 26:07
Speaker 7: It seemed like he had to pass almost every play
• 26:09
  Speaker 7: and put pressure.
• 26:10
Speaker 3: On the defense to to not just up just because.
• 26:14
Speaker 7: Just to cover the receivers. Basically, they knew what he
• 26:17
Speaker 7: was doing and put pressure on That was it. That's
• 26:18
Speaker 7: all they had to do, and they did it well.
• 26:20
Speaker 4: Floyd Peters was our was our defensive coordinator when I
• 26:25
Speaker 4: was there, and of course Pete Carroll was the secondary
• 26:29
  Speaker 4: coach and.
• 26:32
Speaker 3: The defense that we played was and everybody knew it.
• 26:35
  Speaker 3: It was.
• 26:35
Speaker 4: It was an attacking defense, right, but we were playing
• 26:39
  Speaker 4: man to man.
• 26:40
  Speaker 6: Sure.
• 26:41
Speaker 4: Now I'm not saying that you know, can't if they
• 26:46
Speaker 4: can't play man the man.
• 26:47
Speaker 3: But if you're gonna if you're going to try to
• 26:49
Speaker 3: win a football game and.
• 26:51
Speaker 4: You want to try to get pressure on the quarterback,
• 26:54
Speaker 4: I mean, you gotta go and you got to lock
• 26:56
Speaker 4: up outside and you've got to be willing to you know,
• 26:59
  Speaker 4: just play.
• 27:00
Speaker 3: It's a man man. You can't play any kind.
• 27:01
Speaker 4: Of zone soft soft coverage and you're not getting you're
• 27:05
Speaker 4: not getting any pressure.
• 27:07
  Speaker 3: Sure you're I mean you.
• 27:08
Speaker 6: You got no shot, right right? So interesting?
• 27:13
  Speaker 3: Yeah?
• 27:13
Speaker 7: Well, and and and here's my fine. I wanted to
• 27:16
Speaker 7: see what you thought about this. I mean, I think
• 27:18
Speaker 7: the Eagles look so strong on both sides of the ball.
• 27:20
Speaker 7: I can see them repeating I can see them being
• 27:22
Speaker 7: the next Kansas City Chiefs dynasty. I really can't. I
• 27:26
Speaker 7: don't see another team in the league that looked as
• 27:28
Speaker 7: good as them this year. I mean, and I'm I'm
• 27:31
  Speaker 7: a Pickers fan.
• 27:32
Speaker 4: Come on, you know, I think and and me, I
• 27:38
Speaker 4: hate to say this because it's it'll sound crazy. I
• 27:40
Speaker 4: think there are teams that are that are that are
• 27:43
Speaker 4: still just a step away that may may fix what
• 27:47
Speaker 4: they need. I think the Vikings are one of those
• 27:49
Speaker 4: teams that are just missing, just just missing a little bit, okay.
• 27:56
Speaker 3: And and so there's.
• 27:57
Speaker 4: There are a few teams like that that are that
• 28:00
Speaker 4: are that are really really I think, just a few
• 28:02
  Speaker 4: players away.
• 28:04
Speaker 3: Now, Kansas City does not need a lot you know
• 28:11
  Speaker 3: what I'm saying.
• 28:12
Speaker 4: I mean, if they can, if they look at it
• 28:15
Speaker 4: and say, you know what we need. We need somebody
• 28:17
Speaker 4: that they have to be worried about on the outside.
• 28:19
Speaker 4: We need somebody that can go deep.
• 28:22
Speaker 3: We need to speed on the outside.
• 28:23
Speaker 4: Sure, and we need a guy that we can run
• 28:25
Speaker 4: the ball fifteen sixteen eighteen times in the in the game.
• 28:30
Speaker 6: And just take a look at the offensive line.
• 28:32
Speaker 3: Yes, take a look at it.
• 28:34
  Speaker 6: Okay.
• 28:34
Speaker 7: So here's the other part of it. And I'll throw
• 28:36
Speaker 7: this out. You're the football player, I'm.
• 28:38
Speaker 6: Just just the queen. The queen.
• 28:41
Speaker 7: So okay, let's say Kansas City has all the pieces
• 28:44
Speaker 7: back in place. Next year, they run the table, they
• 28:46
Speaker 7: get to the super Bowl again, do you not think
• 28:48
Speaker 7: a defeat like this will not play a mental factor
• 28:53
Speaker 7: next year? If they if they end up in the
• 28:56
Speaker 7: super Bowl. Kind of like that. I don't know, just
• 28:59
Speaker 7: that embarrassment hanging over your head and trying too hard,
• 29:03
Speaker 7: like you can you can have that mentality that you're
• 29:05
  Speaker 7: trying so hard.
• 29:06
Speaker 6: That you're not doing the things that you need to
• 29:09
Speaker 6: do on the field. Does that make sense?
• 29:10
Speaker 3: It does totally. I'm gonna go out.
• 29:14
  Speaker 7: Way yes, yeah, it's a super I'm gonna I'm gonna
• 29:19
Speaker 7: go way out on a limb way early.
• 29:24
Speaker 3: I don't see Kansas City going.
• 29:25
Speaker 6: To the Super Bowl next year.
• 29:28
Speaker 3: Next year, I don't see it.
• 29:30
Speaker 7: And you think, because they have just so many things
• 29:32
Speaker 7: they need to fix in that amount of time.
• 29:35
Speaker 4: I think the things that they it's perfect when you're winning,
• 29:39
Speaker 4: but when you fall apart in a game like that. Now,
• 29:44
Speaker 4: my loyalty to that team not me, not me, not
• 29:47
Speaker 4: during my time, but in this time. My loyalty now
• 29:51
Speaker 4: is if my contract's up.
• 29:52
Speaker 6: Oh that's another good.
• 29:56
Speaker 4: Yes, I'm more than willing because you know what, we're done,
• 30:00
  Speaker 4: our runs done.
• 30:01
Speaker 3: Even though you may have gone to the super Bowl.
• 30:03
Speaker 6: Right you see the writing on the wall.
• 30:05
Speaker 4: You see the writing on the wall. Maybe we're on
• 30:07
Speaker 4: our way down. So there's no reason for me to
• 30:10
  Speaker 4: stay here.
• 30:11
Speaker 7: Yeah, so that's going to be another part that's going
• 30:13
Speaker 7: to play a factor in it.
• 30:14
Speaker 3: I think that is I think that is something that.
• 30:19
Speaker 7: What about do you do you think Patrick Mahomes would
• 30:21
Speaker 7: even consider if the right deal came along leaving the Chiefs.
• 30:25
  Speaker 6: I don't, especially if Travis Kelce retires. I mean, I
• 30:27
  Speaker 6: don't know.
• 30:28
  Speaker 3: I don't think that.
• 30:29
Speaker 4: I don't think PET know what his contract is, Like
• 30:31
Speaker 4: I was gonna say, I don't think that.
• 30:33
Speaker 3: I don't think the Chiefs would let him be out.
• 30:35
Speaker 7: There, not yet, not yet, not yet, contract don't I
• 30:41
  Speaker 7: don't know when it's up.
• 30:42
Speaker 4: But I would think that they would have him locked
• 30:44
Speaker 4: in for sure right now, just right, oh sure.
• 30:49
Speaker 7: Just because pastor Yeah yeah, and he's he is awesome
• 30:53
Speaker 7: and he's still great. Yeah, he's still great. Nothing taken
• 30:55
Speaker 7: away from him. He just didn't have time to do
• 30:57
  Speaker 7: what he needed.
• 30:58
Speaker 4: And I think that we have to do is we
• 31:00
Speaker 4: have to try or they have to do, is we
• 31:02
Speaker 4: have to try to get them into into a situation
• 31:06
Speaker 4: where they can run the football. And they got it
• 31:10
Speaker 4: running back, an offensive lineman, and a good deep threat receiver.
• 31:15
Speaker 3: But ladies did them. We're gonna take a quick break
• 31:17
Speaker 3: and we'll be right back.
• 31:18

Speaker 3: All right, ladies and gentlemen, we are back.
• 32:23
Speaker 4: And I don't know if everybody has heard this, and
• 32:26
Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm gonna let Lisa be the the announcer
• 32:29
Speaker 4: of this great for this great moment in time West Virginia.
• 32:35
Speaker 7: So Lisa, Yeah, let the floor all right, let me
• 32:38
Speaker 7: just say this first, welcome home Pat White.
• 32:41
Speaker 6: Right, everybody's excited. This is great news.
• 32:43
Speaker 7: Rich Rod has acquired Pat as his quarterback and wide
• 32:48
Speaker 7: receivers coach, I believe, and just quarterbacks coach. Sorry, And
• 32:51
Speaker 7: so he's he's going to be a part of the
• 32:53
Speaker 7: team next year. He's gonna be on the sidelines of Morgantown.
• 32:56
Speaker 7: He's got so much experience, He's got a vast His
• 33:00
Speaker 7: resume is unbelievable. Since he played wor at w from
• 33:05
Speaker 7: two thousand and five to two thousand and eight, he
• 33:07
Speaker 7: has coached in various positions at four different colleges, small
• 33:12
Speaker 7: colleges which were Campbell University, Alabama State, USF, and Alcorn State.
• 33:18
Speaker 7: And so to me, before I go any further with
• 33:21
Speaker 7: his resume, this is going to.
• 33:22
  Speaker 6: Be a key.
• 33:25
Speaker 7: Advantage to having Pat on the sidelines in Morgantown because
• 33:29
Speaker 7: he has that connection when it comes to the transfer portal.
• 33:32
Speaker 6: He can look at those schools.
• 33:34
Speaker 7: He may see a player that you know, bigger schools
• 33:37
Speaker 7: have overlooked, and because they have that connection with Pat
• 33:40
Speaker 7: and know who he is and know that he was
• 33:41
Speaker 7: a part of their staff, he's probably going to be
• 33:44
Speaker 7: able to make an acquisition of a player a little
• 33:46
Speaker 7: bit easier than some other coaches could, especially at.
• 33:49
Speaker 4: The huge advantage for the for the recruit the recruiting process,
• 33:53
  Speaker 4: I think.
• 33:53
Speaker 6: I think so, especially for the mid tier schools.
• 33:57
Speaker 7: He also, I don't know if many people know this,
• 33:59
Speaker 7: probably most to he spent two years as the offensive
• 34:02
Speaker 7: assistant coach with the LA Chargers, which was pretty pretty amazing.
• 34:07
Speaker 7: He was the quarterback and wide receivers coach there, so
• 34:10
Speaker 7: when he was under their tenure as the quarterback wide
• 34:14
Speaker 7: receivers coach, he secured the number two passing offense in
• 34:17
Speaker 7: the NFL and they had a playoff berth. So that's
• 34:21
Speaker 7: pretty impressive on his resume. Also, he has been inducted
• 34:25
Speaker 7: into the WU Sports Hall of Fame. Of course when
• 34:30
Speaker 7: he was there playing for w that he won four
• 34:33
Speaker 7: Bowl games all four years that he started. That would
• 34:36
Speaker 7: be and these aren't the small ones. One was small
• 34:38
Speaker 7: that was the Monukey Carcare. But he also won a
• 34:41
Speaker 7: Sugar Bowl, a Gator Bowl, and a Fiesta Bowl, So
• 34:44
Speaker 7: those aren't those aren't lower tier. Yeah, and top it
• 34:48
Speaker 7: all off, on top of all of that, he's a
• 34:50
Speaker 7: baseball player as well, and he had, yes, he had
• 34:54
Speaker 7: been drafted by Major League Baseball teams at one point
• 34:57
Speaker 7: in his career. So he is a well rounded guy.
• 35:01
Speaker 7: He's well liked, he's a hero in West Virginia. Everybody
• 35:04
Speaker 7: remembers the Sugar Bowl and the big defeat of Georgia.
• 35:07
Speaker 7: I just think it's a great, great fit up there.
• 35:12
Speaker 4: I think when I found this out, like I was like, oh,
• 35:20
Speaker 4: because you know, I kind of had distanced myself, I
• 35:23
Speaker 4: guess from that name. You know, I hadn't hadn't heard
• 35:26
Speaker 4: it in a while, and all of a sudden, when
• 35:28
Speaker 4: I hear this, I'm like, oh, well, wow, think about
• 35:33
Speaker 4: the quarterback now. And to me, I really believe quarterbacks
• 35:39
Speaker 4: kind of have to be taught by quarterbacks. I just think,
• 35:43
Speaker 4: as I think, it's just such a unique position.
• 35:46
Speaker 3: And I'm not saying that just you know, just any coach.
• 35:49
  Speaker 4: I'm not saying that a coach can't coach a quarterback
• 35:52
Speaker 4: and can't tell him the steps and all that, but
• 35:55
Speaker 4: I think the real the realization of everything that goes
• 35:59
Speaker 4: along with the quarterback. I think I think having a
• 36:02
Speaker 4: quarterback coach that played quarterback and in Pat White situation
• 36:08
Speaker 4: like that name that's going to resonate and if the
• 36:13
Speaker 4: kids are too young to remember him, they'll look him up.
• 36:16
Speaker 3: Mom and dad will Mom and.
• 36:17
Speaker 4: Dad will remember for sure for sure. But yeah, I
• 36:20
Speaker 4: think I think this. I think this is a major
• 36:23
Speaker 4: I think this is a major step.
• 36:25
  Speaker 3: And I think.
• 36:27
Speaker 4: His future is head coach. In my mind, I think
• 36:31
Speaker 4: his future is ultimately going to be a head coach.
• 36:33
Speaker 7: I could see that, especially even in Morgantown. I mean,
• 36:36
Speaker 7: we all know rich Rod. I mean, who knows he
• 36:39
Speaker 7: could be there. I don't know what another ten fifteen years,
• 36:42
Speaker 7: maybe maybe most, but if nothing else, Pat White will
• 36:47
Speaker 7: definitely be maybe promoted to an offensive coordinator at some point.
• 36:50
  Speaker 4: I think he's I think he's going to have. I
• 36:52
Speaker 4: think he's going to have the success of that success
• 36:59
  Speaker 4: that I think he's going to have. I think he's
• 37:02
Speaker 4: not gonna have. He's not going to be able to
• 37:03
Speaker 4: wait at WVU. Oh no, no, spot, He's I think
• 37:07
Speaker 4: he's going to be the moment he gets in and
• 37:10
Speaker 4: all of a sudden, quarterbacks are thrown the ball. Well,
• 37:12
Speaker 4: the yards and stats are great, I'm thinking somebody else
• 37:17
Speaker 4: over here has got a quarterback or a coach that's
• 37:19
Speaker 4: that's got a couple of years still left.
• 37:21
Speaker 6: That's his alma mater.
• 37:22
  Speaker 3: Though.
• 37:23
Speaker 6: You know, I get I played there.
• 37:24
  Speaker 3: I get that.
• 37:25
Speaker 4: But if he doesn't have it, to your point, rich right,
• 37:28
Speaker 4: how long is he going to be there? Well, I
• 37:31
Speaker 4: don't think he has the chance to. I think that's
• 37:33
Speaker 4: a go somewhere, come back.
• 37:35
Speaker 7: Okay, is what I think that well, or this think
• 37:37
Speaker 7: about this scenario. Let's say the offense is producing and
• 37:40
Speaker 7: they're doing well, and they're winning games with offense, and
• 37:42
Speaker 7: the quarterback play and all all of those things, wide
• 37:44
Speaker 7: receiver play wouldn't wouldn't a college more so, look at
• 37:48
Speaker 7: the offensive coordinator position.
• 37:51
Speaker 6: So that should be his way in, is what I'm saying.
• 37:53
Speaker 7: Oh, like a school could come in and say, Okay,
• 37:55
Speaker 7: your offense is doing great, we're going to steal your coordinator.
• 37:57
Speaker 7: We want him absolutely, and then what happens past moves
• 38:00
Speaker 7: up into that position. So that could be a scenario
• 38:03
  Speaker 7: as well.
• 38:03
Speaker 3: I think either one.
• 38:04
Speaker 4: But I do like, I do like that path, and
• 38:08
  Speaker 4: I just don't know, and I'll be honest, I just
• 38:10
Speaker 4: don't know how it won't be good, Like I just
• 38:13
Speaker 4: don't know, you know, unless there's just not the players
• 38:17
Speaker 4: there that that that that.
• 38:20
Speaker 3: Can do the things that he wants them to do.
• 38:23
Speaker 4: That's the only way that I can see this happening
• 38:26
Speaker 4: not happening, because I just think he's that perfect guy
• 38:30
Speaker 4: to be in the coaching situation.
• 38:33
Speaker 3: And again, oh see, and.
• 38:37
  Speaker 4: I'm and I'm I'm gonna change my mind a little
• 38:39
Speaker 4: bit and say, maybe oh SE's even better for him,
• 38:41
Speaker 4: but maybe the head coach, unless he's gonna be the
• 38:43
Speaker 4: head coach, is gonna that's gonna run the offense right.
• 38:46
Speaker 7: Right well and and and that's possible too, But I
• 38:50
Speaker 7: really feel like it's gonna be a process there because
• 38:53
Speaker 7: he's had stints at different places, so obviously he's he's
• 38:58
Speaker 7: had some success, but not another to stay in one
• 39:00
Speaker 7: place and be promoted to, you know, a coordinator or
• 39:04
Speaker 7: even I think he's been a head coach maybe at
• 39:06
Speaker 7: one of the smaller schools, or maybe not a head coach,
• 39:09
Speaker 7: but maybe like an offensive coordinator.
• 39:10
Speaker 6: I would have to research that more. But obviously if
• 39:14
Speaker 6: he gets to w.
• 39:15
Speaker 7: And they experienced success on the offensive side of the ball,
• 39:19
Speaker 7: his path is made for him.
• 39:20
Speaker 6: You know, he's starting here.
• 39:21
Speaker 7: He could end up as an offensive coordinator for a
• 39:24
Speaker 7: number of years. Let's say rich Brod decides this is
• 39:27
Speaker 7: it for me, then he steps right into that position.
• 39:30
  Speaker 7: I mean, it's it's a golden path if he chooses
• 39:32
  Speaker 7: to take it.
• 39:33
Speaker 4: And imagine him and rich Rod, I mean just just
• 39:36
Speaker 4: talking right football, right.
• 39:39
Speaker 3: Just imagine them two in the room, sitting talking football.
• 39:42
Speaker 3: I mean, I want to be there. I want to be.
• 39:46
Speaker 7: All right. But yeah, I think that I think it's
• 39:49
Speaker 7: a great acquisition. Definitely, Morgantown's going to be It's going
• 39:52
Speaker 7: to be just dynamic this fall. I think people I think,
• 39:56
Speaker 7: you know, the ticket sales are going to go back up.
• 39:59
Speaker 7: People are I did with all these new changes and
• 40:02
Speaker 7: having the traditions from the past come in and be,
• 40:05
Speaker 7: you know, back in the coaching positions that they were
• 40:07
Speaker 7: and we had success with these these people.
• 40:09
Speaker 6: Yes, So there's a lot of hope for Mountaineer fans.
• 40:13
Speaker 4: And anytime you get to have, you know, like a
• 40:16
Speaker 4: legacy player like that and you get to have them
• 40:19
Speaker 4: have him on your coaching staff, and the higher he
• 40:24
Speaker 4: is in that status, you're talking about bringing more fans
• 40:29
Speaker 4: back because now they remember him as a player, and
• 40:33
Speaker 4: because they remember him as a player, man, we're coming back.
• 40:36
  Speaker 6: Sure, you know.
• 40:37
Speaker 4: So sometimes when the record's not all what it wanted,
• 40:41
Speaker 4: what it needed to be, and all that kind of stuff,
• 40:43
Speaker 4: and people are, you know, the fan base are kind
• 40:45
Speaker 4: of walking out, I think you're going to have a
• 40:48
Speaker 4: whole lot more walking back in sure now.
• 40:52
Speaker 7: And I think that was the whole point of hiring
• 40:55
Speaker 7: rich Rodback. They knew they needed a name. They couldn't
• 40:59
Speaker 7: just hire an unproven offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator from
• 41:04
Speaker 7: an equal size school or a small school. They knew
• 41:08
Speaker 7: we were we were in code red in Morgantown. It
• 41:11
Speaker 7: was Code red and the past few years, fans were disgruntled.
• 41:15
Speaker 7: They'd been calling for, you know, to fire Neil Brown
• 41:17
Speaker 7: for a number of years, and so they knew that
• 41:22
Speaker 7: they were in this emergency mode and they brought in
• 41:25
Speaker 7: these names that are that are going to help bring
• 41:28
Speaker 7: in the fans again.
• 41:29
Speaker 4: Do you think that do you think that these hires
• 41:32
Speaker 4: and this is not to be meant as like not
• 41:35
Speaker 4: qualified that's my first I'm not even even thinking about that. Sure,
• 41:40
Speaker 4: but do you think that this was a well fought
• 41:42
Speaker 4: out plan of bringing back people that that that the
• 41:47
Speaker 4: fan base can absolutely relate to and and maybe even
• 41:51
Speaker 4: be patient with them because of who they are. Sure
• 41:55
Speaker 4: do you think that that that could have been part of.
• 41:58
Speaker 7: The draw Probably, I think definitely for bringing rich Rod back.
• 42:02
Speaker 7: But see, rich Rod is hiring his own staff and
• 42:05
Speaker 7: his own people, so he doesn't want to bring anybody
• 42:07
Speaker 7: in there other than the fact that they're qualified and
• 42:09
  Speaker 7: they're going.
• 42:09
Speaker 6: To help him win games.
• 42:11
Speaker 7: To me, so he's the one hiring Pat White, He's
• 42:15
Speaker 7: the one hiring all his surrounding.
• 42:17
Speaker 6: Casts, so to speak.
• 42:19
Speaker 7: I think that the hire of rich definitely what you
• 42:22
Speaker 7: said played in played a part in bringing him back
• 42:24
Speaker 7: to Morgantown. But the surrounding cast, the surrounding assistant coaches,
• 42:29
Speaker 7: that's all on him. Because he knows he's got to produce.
• 42:32
Speaker 7: He will have some leeway. But I'm telling you right now,
• 42:35
Speaker 7: if he starts losing to Pitt and losing games in general,
• 42:39
Speaker 7: I don't care who you are, you're going to be
• 42:41
Speaker 7: in the hot seat.
• 42:41
Speaker 4: But see, and to that point, I think where we
• 42:48
Speaker 4: are now and where and how we blame you know,
• 42:53
Speaker 4: blame coaches. Sure, there's a lot of stuff that that
• 42:59
Speaker 4: that's inside of that and and and I think that's
• 43:05
  Speaker 4: it's more than just it's it's really just it's more
• 43:08
Speaker 4: than just who's coaching.
• 43:09
  Speaker 3: It's it's the whole structure.
• 43:12
Speaker 4: Okay, And I'm gonna I'm gonna shift this into I'm
• 43:15
Speaker 4: gonna go to high school.
• 43:18
Speaker 3: South Charleston High School, their coach, coach Wrestler, stepped down.
• 43:25
Speaker 4: And you know, I think everybody or a lot of folks,
• 43:29
Speaker 4: if you if you have Facebook, you can you can
• 43:32
Speaker 4: you can read you know, some of the things that
• 43:35
  Speaker 4: he said.
• 43:40
Speaker 3: I think high school football.
• 43:45
Speaker 4: Is extremely difficult for a for a coach to quote
• 43:53
Speaker 4: what we what we used to say is rebuild a program.
• 43:59
Speaker 4: I think the the idea of rebuilding a program you
• 44:01
Speaker 4: have to either do you either have to go out
• 44:04
Speaker 4: of your school and go find.
• 44:06
Speaker 6: You have to recruit.
• 44:07
Speaker 3: You have to recruit kids.
• 44:10
Speaker 4: You have to recruit kids from other places to come
• 44:13
Speaker 4: to your come to come play for you. If you
• 44:17
Speaker 4: try to build on what you have, you're gonna be
• 44:22
Speaker 4: sitting in a situation where you have a ninth you
• 44:24
Speaker 4: may be playing a ninth or tenth grader against the
• 44:26
Speaker 4: twelfth against the twelfth.
• 44:27
Speaker 7: Grade, which becomes a safety issue, which had becomes a
• 44:30
  Speaker 7: safety issue.
• 44:31
Speaker 4: And we're gonna and we're gonna and and as as
• 44:34
Speaker 4: South Charleston continuously becomes winless season after season and have
• 44:41
Speaker 4: been there, okay and seeing it, I my my, my
• 44:48
Speaker 4: problem with the huge gap between.
• 44:54
Speaker 3: South Charleston being able to have a chance to rebuild.
• 44:59
Speaker 4: It comes back to kids not wanting to go through
• 45:03
Speaker 4: that that growth. They don't want to being part of
• 45:09
Speaker 4: Marshall's turnaround to be able to say I could I
• 45:11
Speaker 4: can say that I was part of Marshall's turnaround when
• 45:14
Speaker 4: I was there and we won how many ever, maybe eight, nine, ten,
• 45:19
Speaker 4: twelve games max in four years, But I get to
• 45:23
Speaker 4: say that we I was part of that.
• 45:25
Speaker 6: You heard the lifetime.
• 45:27
Speaker 4: We we did win some games, and we did beat
• 45:29
Speaker 4: some teams that we hadn't beaten a long time.
• 45:33
Speaker 3: But I don't think that's enough now for parents.
• 45:36
  Speaker 4: I don't I'm not even gonna I'm gonna go past
• 45:39
Speaker 4: the kid. I'm going to go to the parents. I
• 45:42
Speaker 4: think parents want rightfully, so they want what's best for
• 45:47
Speaker 4: their kids. Sure, and that is winning. That is being
• 45:50
Speaker 4: part of a winning culture, because you'd think having that
• 45:53
Speaker 4: winning culture is what you.
• 45:55
Speaker 3: Want for your child.
• 45:58
  Speaker 4: But I'm gonna make and I think there's a whole
• 46:01
Speaker 4: lot of athletes will say adversity is really where you
• 46:06
Speaker 4: learn lessons, where you get where you get life lessons.
• 46:09
Speaker 3: Sure, and we went three and thirteen my second year
• 46:14
  Speaker 3: in Minnesota.
• 46:15
Speaker 4: I had guys who hadn't lost two games in four
• 46:18
  Speaker 4: years at college.
• 46:21
Speaker 3: They had no idea how to handle that situation.
• 46:23
Speaker 6: For me, He's been there, done that.
• 46:27
Speaker 3: This is not hockey, you know. I'm sitting on the Yeah,
• 46:32
  Speaker 3: I'm sitting Let's go, guys, it's next series. Let's go.
• 46:36
  Speaker 4: And I just think, I think, I think, and I'm
• 46:40
Speaker 4: making this plea to the parents to let your kid
• 46:44
  Speaker 4: experience life.
• 46:46
Speaker 3: As it comes to them.
• 46:48
Speaker 4: It sounds good, It sounds important that I need to
• 46:52
Speaker 4: put my kid in the best situation that I possibly can.
• 46:55
Speaker 4: I swear, I get that I do sports, not so much.
• 47:02
Speaker 4: He needs she needs to face some adversity. How does
• 47:06
Speaker 4: he or she handle that adversity? You're sitting on there,
• 47:10
Speaker 4: You're sitting in the bleachers, and your kids is pouting,
• 47:13
Speaker 4: and because you haven't won a game. Your kid's pouting
• 47:15
Speaker 4: and he's acting like he don't really want to even
• 47:17
Speaker 4: be out there. The conversation you need to be having.
• 47:21
Speaker 3: With him or her every.
• 47:24
Speaker 4: Time that you go out on that field. You need
• 47:27
Speaker 4: to make yourself proud. You need to play the best
• 47:32
Speaker 4: that you possibly can. Then once you get to that level,
• 47:36
Speaker 4: when you're playing, now I can reach over and say, hey, said,
• 47:38
Speaker 4: come on, come on, now, we can start, because it's
• 47:43
Speaker 4: just it just takes an individual to stay focused into
• 47:48
Speaker 4: what you want, and and and and I and and
• 47:53
Speaker 4: Hollis's argument to me about about about saying everybody's not
• 47:57
  Speaker 4: gonna make it.
• 47:58
  Speaker 3: To the pros.
• 47:58
Speaker 6: Yeah, I heard that, and so.
• 48:02
Speaker 3: So do let me finish this.
• 48:04
Speaker 6: And not No, it's good, so I like it.
• 48:06
Speaker 3: Here's my thing. I'm not saying that.
• 48:09
Speaker 4: I'm not telling everybody that you to play to go pro, play.
• 48:17
Speaker 3: To go D one. I'm not saying that. Now.
• 48:20
Speaker 4: If you want that, that's a whole nother work ethic.
• 48:23
Speaker 6: Sure, But when just because you.
• 48:27
Speaker 4: Just want to play and have fun, you can't just
• 48:30
Speaker 4: play and have fun because you're hurting your team. Yeah,
• 48:33
Speaker 4: if you're not working, if you're not working extra, if
• 48:36
Speaker 4: you're not being the best that you can beat, right,
• 48:38
Speaker 4: you're hurting your team.
• 48:40
Speaker 7: Yeah, And to your point, I want to say this
• 48:43
Speaker 7: that I'm going to go a step further with what
• 48:45
Speaker 7: you're saying with the parents. I think what has to
• 48:48
Speaker 7: happen at that high school level is we have to
• 48:50
Speaker 7: build teamwork. Yes, we have to build relationships. We have
• 48:55
Speaker 7: to have that mentality that you know, we're all in
• 48:58
Speaker 7: this together. We're all going to do our part. We're
• 49:01
Speaker 7: all gonna play our very best on every single series
• 49:03
Speaker 7: of plays. Not about me and what I'm able to do,
• 49:07
Speaker 7: and if I'm not doing it, I'm just gonna quit.
• 49:09
Speaker 7: I'm just gonna quit playing because it's all about me.
• 49:11
Speaker 7: It's not about my friend over here, you know that.
• 49:14
Speaker 7: But place defensive line or offensive line, this is about
• 49:17
Speaker 7: me and what I can do.
• 49:18
  Speaker 6: We need to.
• 49:19
Speaker 7: Change that mentality and get back to being able to
• 49:24
Speaker 7: get those boys out there on the field or girls
• 49:26
Speaker 7: to gel and depend on each other, because that's why
• 49:30
  Speaker 7: it's a team sport. That's what's wrong. And I think
• 49:33
Speaker 7: we've talked about this before. I think this is the
• 49:35
Speaker 7: whole breakdown in the high school football world is that
• 49:40
Speaker 7: we are focused on individuals and not teams.
• 49:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, my son's playing high school football.
• 49:48
  Speaker 4: He's the he's the he's the quarterback, and he's one
• 49:51
Speaker 4: of the top players. We don't have enough lineman. You know,
• 49:56
Speaker 4: he's been getting hit a few times. I don't like that.
• 49:59
  Speaker 4: You know, he let's say he's a he's a sophomore. Well,
• 50:02
Speaker 4: you know what I'm gonna I'm tell you what I'm
• 50:05
Speaker 4: gonna do. I'm gonna take my kids somewhere where he's
• 50:08
Speaker 4: gonna A coach is gonna tell me he's gonna play,
• 50:11
Speaker 4: and they already got a good line. So I'm gonna
• 50:15
Speaker 4: take my kid there. So what I've just done was
• 50:19
Speaker 4: I've took I've taken him and put him in a
• 50:21
Speaker 4: better situation and took him out of a situation that.
• 50:27
Speaker 3: He's just he's better than and the and the and
• 50:29
Speaker 3: the team isn't good enough for him. Everything about that is.
• 50:33
Speaker 7: Selfish, absolutely selfish, And I think that I think the
• 50:37
Speaker 7: way to I don't even know if this is the
• 50:39
Speaker 7: answer or a way to get around it, is make
• 50:42
Speaker 7: sure those kids do a lot of team building activities.
• 50:46
Speaker 6: Yes, make them loyal to.
• 50:48
Speaker 7: Each other, because then when mom and dad says, okay,
• 50:51
Speaker 7: little Johnny, we're gonna take you to this school. We're
• 50:53
Speaker 7: gonna go from school way to school B because they
• 50:56
Speaker 7: have a better team. And the little Johnny says, no,
• 50:58
Speaker 7: this is my team. These are my friends. We play together.
• 51:02
Speaker 7: I'm here to be a part of this dynamic. I
• 51:06
Speaker 7: don't want to leave because that. I don't care if
• 51:09
Speaker 7: mom and dad tell you you have to do this.
• 51:11
Speaker 7: Teenagers are pretty headstrong, and you know, if they're telling
• 51:15
Speaker 7: him you have to go here and he's like, no,
• 51:17
Speaker 7: I don't want to, then that could maybe be part
• 51:20
Speaker 7: of solving the problem.
• 51:22
Speaker 6: Have some loyalty well to people and teams.
• 51:25
Speaker 3: Yes, and I think too. Part of that.
• 51:28
Speaker 4: Part of that is conversations that you're having on your
• 51:31
Speaker 4: way home from the game. Yes, you know, what are
• 51:35
Speaker 4: you saying to your kid when y'all just got blown out? Okay,
• 51:39
  Speaker 4: I haven't won a game. So you're at South Charleston
• 51:41
Speaker 4: and you finished your last game and.
• 51:45
Speaker 3: You got shut out, and so now you're owing whatever.
• 51:49
Speaker 4: Right, what's the conversation that you're having with your son
• 51:53
Speaker 4: or daughter in the car on the way home.
• 51:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, they should And what are they allowed to say
• 52:00
Speaker 3: to you? Now? If my son says, we we we're
• 52:04
Speaker 3: just terrible. We're horrible. I would look at him like
• 52:09
Speaker 3: he was crazy first, but then I would say.
• 52:13
Speaker 4: Well, first of all, do you understand why you're here,
• 52:19
  Speaker 4: why it's here?
• 52:21
Speaker 3: What do you mean?
• 52:23
Speaker 4: Well, guys left, your best players left, they went somewhere else.
• 52:29
  Speaker 3: They were selfish.
• 52:30
Speaker 4: They they left you here, right, they left you here, coach,
• 52:36
Speaker 4: And to be honest with your son, you're not really
• 52:39
Speaker 4: you shouldn't be in the game right now. You're playing
• 52:43
Speaker 4: because Johnny left and your position and you played his position.
• 52:47
Speaker 3: That's the only reason you're playing.
• 52:49
Speaker 7: And and you're not ready right right.
• 52:52
Speaker 3: I mean, if you could have those kinds of conversations.
• 52:55
Speaker 4: But part of that is because a lot of a
• 52:58
Speaker 4: lot of dad's, a lot of moms who have their
• 53:01
Speaker 4: children they don't have they don't they don't have that,
• 53:04
Speaker 4: they don't have the ability to have that conversation.
• 53:07
Speaker 3: The easiest thing is to side with your son or daughter.
• 53:12
Speaker 7: Or you could even go into the blame game and say, well, coach,
• 53:15
Speaker 7: so and so didn't didn't do this, and and and
• 53:18
Speaker 7: you know your friend, you know he didn't do what
• 53:20
Speaker 7: he was supposed to do. And so the blame game
• 53:22
Speaker 7: becomes part of it, and that that kid sitting there
• 53:25
Speaker 7: hearing all of that, taking it all in.
• 53:27
Speaker 4: Because if you, if me and you are sitting in
• 53:29
Speaker 4: the front seat talking about the coaches and all this,
• 53:33
Speaker 4: and the kids are not saying anything, what are we
• 53:37
Speaker 4: what are we sending to?
• 53:38
Speaker 3: What kind of message? I mean? That's I just think.
• 53:44
Speaker 4: I think what we have, what we're doing, is in
• 53:49
Speaker 4: part mostly an adult issue that we are that we
• 53:54
Speaker 4: have changed the mindset of our kids. We've changed it
• 53:58
Speaker 4: because you can go and play wherever you want to
• 54:01
Speaker 4: play where so that you can play on a good team.
• 54:04
Speaker 4: Right that That's that's all we want to do, is
• 54:06
Speaker 4: we want to play on a good team. Because there's
• 54:08
Speaker 4: a whole lot of good teams. And let's be honest,
• 54:12
Speaker 4: every and to Hollis's point against me, but everybody, everybody,
• 54:18
Speaker 4: Not everybody is going to play D one. Not everybody's
• 54:21
Speaker 4: gonna play D two. He's not going to three.
• 54:25
Speaker 3: Somebody's got You may just play college.
• 54:28
Speaker 6: High school ball, right, but you need to have product.
• 54:31
Speaker 4: But you gotta have pride in that. You gotta you
• 54:33
Speaker 4: gotta still work, there's still.
• 54:35
Speaker 6: You gotta have respect for your coaches.
• 54:37
Speaker 7: You have to have respect for your teammates, and you
• 54:39
Speaker 7: have to have pride and whatever you do, I don't
• 54:40
Speaker 7: care what you do, you should have pride.
• 54:42
Speaker 4: That if you don't want to be the best that
• 54:44
Speaker 4: you can be, and you're on that team and you
• 54:47
Speaker 4: know that you're not going to college to play, yea.
• 54:51
Speaker 3: Why are you there? Then you're in the way. You
• 54:54
  Speaker 3: are the blame.
• 54:56
Speaker 4: And as bad as that an argument with that, I
• 54:59
Speaker 4: don't don't really know how anybody could can argue with it.
• 55:04
Speaker 7: And and and what's happening is this is a small state, yes,
• 55:08
Speaker 7: And so what's happening happening is in every class classification
• 55:12
Speaker 7: is there's one or two schools that are getting all
• 55:14
Speaker 7: of the elite players and then everybody else is out
• 55:18
Speaker 7: here just you know, trying to pick up the crumbs that.
• 55:21
Speaker 6: Are left behind. And it's it's just it's becoming more
• 55:24
Speaker 6: and more apparent when the playoffs roll around.
• 55:27
Speaker 7: You know, you see these dominating wins by these schools,
• 55:30
Speaker 7: and you're like, how do you fix that.
• 55:33
Speaker 6: You can't make it, you can't make it competitive like.
• 55:35
Speaker 4: That, and and and and of course we can't get
• 55:39
Speaker 4: anybody to come on to have this discussion.
• 55:43
  Speaker 6: Of what they It's a touchy one. It's it's it's
• 55:47
  Speaker 6: a touchy one.
• 55:47
Speaker 9: And and when you when you when you start, when
• 55:51
Speaker 9: you start talking about firing a coach, I mean you
• 55:56
Speaker 9: you you kind of have to go and look into
• 55:58
Speaker 9: all of the things that.
• 55:59
  Speaker 6: Took play four.
• 56:02
Speaker 4: He's before you can make that decision, right, His record
• 56:07
Speaker 4: can't be everything everything if.
• 56:10
Speaker 3: You've lost a bunch of players. I mean your.
• 56:12
Speaker 4: Evaluation, my evaluation of you as the women's basketball coach.
• 56:17
Speaker 4: You lost four of your starters from last year, they
• 56:21
Speaker 4: went somewhere else. You're getting ready to play four more starters,
• 56:25
Speaker 4: four more young kids in this season.
• 56:29
Speaker 3: You go zero to fifteen, right? Well, is that you?
• 56:35
  Speaker 6: I know? Right?
• 56:36
  Speaker 5: No?
• 56:37
  Speaker 6: I agree.
• 56:37
Speaker 7: I mean you have to look at the whole body
• 56:39
Speaker 7: of work. I don't care how long you've been there.
• 56:41
Speaker 7: A lot of it depends on who you have to
• 56:43
Speaker 7: play ball. Yeah, period, what kind of talent level did
• 56:47
Speaker 7: you lose? Everybody? I mean all those play a factor,
• 56:49
Speaker 7: not just you know, your tenure aut of school. I
• 56:53
Speaker 7: mean it depends on what's happening as far as the
• 56:57
  Speaker 7: transfer portal goes.
• 56:58
Speaker 6: I mean, that's just the way it is.
• 57:00
Speaker 4: And if I would say anything for coach wrestler. I
• 57:04
Speaker 4: would say, you know, my hat's off to you because
• 57:10
Speaker 4: you didn't even have to try to.
• 57:12
Speaker 3: Go back, right, but you did. You took that, you
• 57:16
Speaker 3: took the step to go back to see.
• 57:19
Speaker 6: If you could do it right.
• 57:21
  Speaker 4: And and I'm not even I don't I don't know
• 57:24
Speaker 4: how I really want to say this, but the reason
• 57:26
Speaker 4: why I left to me seems exactly why you decided
• 57:29
Speaker 4: that you couldn't do it.
• 57:31
Speaker 3: Now. I don't care if anybody wants.
• 57:34
Speaker 4: To blame him for the for the old from zero
• 57:38
Speaker 4: wins in two seasons have at it right. But and
• 57:43
Speaker 4: I and I understand that the coach always head coach
• 57:46
Speaker 4: always takes to blink. I get it, you know, I
• 57:49
Speaker 4: accepted it on my end. Sure, but there is an
• 57:54
Speaker 4: issue at South Charleston High School. There is an issue
• 58:00
Speaker 4: in why they don't have players. And that's not and
• 58:05
  Speaker 4: that's not the coach's fault. That's not the coach's fault,
• 58:09
Speaker 4: that's not the assistant coach's fault.
• 58:11
Speaker 3: Right, that's not the parents or the with this.
• 58:14
Speaker 4: I'll say this for the parents who stayed and their
• 58:18
Speaker 4: kids are still there, my hat's off to you.
• 58:22
  Speaker 3: Sure, my hat's off to you. I can't. I don't understand.
• 58:26
Speaker 4: I just somebody would have to sit down and talk
• 58:29
Speaker 4: to me because I'm not leaving South Chrrelsta.
• 58:32
Speaker 3: I grew up that whole all the way through. I'm
• 58:34
Speaker 3: not leaving right and now.
• 58:37
Speaker 4: And God forbid if we get in IL because everybody's
• 58:40
Speaker 4: gonna go. Everybody's gonna go. It's the worst thing, is
• 58:43
Speaker 4: the worst thing that happen in this state.
• 58:46
Speaker 6: I just don't know how it would work at that level.
• 58:48
Speaker 6: I just it barely.
• 58:50
Speaker 7: No, let let's let me let me rephrase this. It
• 58:52
Speaker 7: doesn't work at the collegiate level. I almost said barely.
• 58:56
Speaker 7: It really doesn't work there. They they they've got to
• 58:59
Speaker 7: tweak that at that level before they move it down
• 59:03
Speaker 7: to the high school level.
• 59:04
Speaker 6: They need to get it right at the college level.
• 59:07
Speaker 7: If they even want to think about doing it at
• 59:09
Speaker 7: the high school level. They need to do something about
• 59:12
Speaker 7: it at the collegiate level to make it more fair.
• 59:14
Speaker 4: Let me ask you this question, and I think I've
• 59:17
Speaker 4: said this, maybe I might have said it on an.
• 59:19
  Speaker 3: Overtime, But so.
• 59:24
Speaker 4: If someone were to call if this is for your
• 59:26
Speaker 4: this is me asking you your opinion. If someone called
• 59:30
Speaker 4: me and asked me for some money for n I
• 59:35
Speaker 4: l for their for their team.
• 59:38
Speaker 3: Sure, what do you think I would say?
• 59:40
Speaker 7: No, Yes, you're right, because I know how you feel
• 59:46
Speaker 7: about it, and because.
• 59:49
  Speaker 3: I'm not. I'm not.
• 59:51
  Speaker 4: I didn't get paid. I didn't get paid. There are
• 59:53
Speaker 4: kids that are made in in collegiate football.
