- 0:58Speaker 3: Heather MacDonald. Juicy Scoop. Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 1:04Speaker 3: I have my friend, my office mate, oh my gosh, attorney, director.
- 1:13Speaker 3: A filmmaker.
- 1:14Speaker 4: What did I direct?
- 1:15Speaker 3: Have you not directed yet? No. Model, actor, now social influencer.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Maybe a winner of a ring. Have you heard about
- 1:23Speaker 3: the rings? No.
- 1:24Speaker 4: What are the rings?
- 1:25Speaker 3: There's a new thing that I saw. They're going to
- 1:28Speaker 3: be like an award show for content creators. Oh, wonderful.
- 1:32Speaker 3: So you might win a ring.
- 1:33Speaker 4: I'm very excited.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Because you're finally spending the time and doing really funny things,
- 1:39Speaker 3: roasting people. food at county fairs.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Very funny. That's probably my favorite video you've done lately.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Guy Branum, multi, multi award-winning writer, which you brought them
- 1:53Speaker 3: all the last time.
- 1:54Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:55Speaker 3: And just how are you?
- 1:57Speaker 4: I'm great. It's always good to see you. But more
- 1:59Speaker 4: than that, a lot of stuff has been going on
- 2:01Speaker 4: that I've wanted to talk to you about, but not
- 2:03Speaker 4: the least of which is I, over the course of
- 2:06Speaker 4: the last three months, consumed all of Vanderpump. And my
- 2:10Speaker 4: eyes are open now.
- 2:11Speaker 3: So you started from the very beginning.
- 2:13Speaker 4: I started from the very beginning because I wanted to
- 2:15Speaker 4: understand and also, like, I had seen that backdoor pilot
- 2:18Speaker 4: years ago when they did the episode that was Real
- 2:21Speaker 4: Housewives of Beverly Hills and then it turned into half
- 2:23Speaker 4: an episode.
- 2:24Speaker 3: They followed, yeah, they followed Sheena to the other room.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Right, and like, Jax was a very compelling persona, the
- 2:33Speaker 4: kind of person that we all see in Los Angeles.
- 2:36Speaker 4: And I did want to like chart this full journey
- 2:38Speaker 4: so that I could really understand Scandival. And now that
- 2:42Speaker 4: I have taken it all down, like.
- 2:44Speaker 3: So you finished all of it.
- 2:45Speaker 4: I finished all of it.
- 2:46Speaker 3: You are caught up to the end.
- 2:47Speaker 4: I'm caught up to the end. And I really feel
- 2:50Speaker 4: like they squeezed all the juice out of that. Like
- 2:52Speaker 4: there are a couple of people on there who I
- 2:54Speaker 4: still like. I think Sheena is a great reality show performer.
- 2:58Speaker 4: I think I do deeply love Lala. And I think
- 3:03Speaker 4: that they have more reality show in them. But most
- 3:05Speaker 4: of those people, it's like, we got everything we're going
- 3:08Speaker 4: to get out of both Toms. We got everything we're
- 3:11Speaker 4: going to get out of Ariana. And like, I really
- 3:16Speaker 4: felt like it was a complete story.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Very, I love, first of all, you know, so many
- 3:22Speaker 3: times people are like, in the comments when someone writes
- 3:25Speaker 3: on Juicy Scoop Obsessed or whatever, my Patreon, going, all right, guys,
- 3:29Speaker 3: you know, I've never watched this or what season of
- 3:33Speaker 3: Housewives should I start on? And the comments are always like,
- 3:37Speaker 3: I'm so jealous. I'm so jealous that you're starting from
- 3:39Speaker 3: the beginning. And so it's kind of fun to hear
- 3:43Speaker 3: someone like you who, you know, can appreciate what that
- 3:47Speaker 3: show was. And I agree. It is like no other
- 3:51Speaker 3: because it involved– what the rest of the world wondered
- 3:57Speaker 3: what it was like to be a young aspiring actor
- 4:01Speaker 3: model doing the waiter thing in LA. And they were
- 4:05Speaker 3: all real and they all had relationships and they all
- 4:09Speaker 3: worked at this place. And I don't think there's been
- 4:12Speaker 3: a more organic origin story to a reality show than
- 4:17Speaker 3: what Vanderpump was besides the Osbournes and the Kardashians who
- 4:21Speaker 3: were truly a family. Like it's, Even more so than
- 4:23Speaker 3: any Real Housewives, because even in the beginning of Real Housewives,
- 4:27Speaker 3: there was a bit of casting and people meeting for
- 4:30Speaker 3: the first time when the cameras came out. This was from,
- 4:34Speaker 3: and that's what made it so fascinating as a reality
- 4:39Speaker 3: show Bravo fan. And it is to me kind of
- 4:43Speaker 3: like an end of an era because I'm going to,
- 4:46Speaker 3: I'm doing BravoCon and like two years ago, It was
- 4:49Speaker 3: still in the height of, like, the whole Scandival. And
- 4:54Speaker 3: they were all there. And now it's like Tom Sandoval is,
- 4:59Speaker 3: you know, not really going to be part of the
- 5:01Speaker 3: valley that we know.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:03Speaker 3: And Lala is going to be part of the valley.
- 5:05Speaker 3: But I don't know if you're aware, but Sheena is not.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Oh, really? I have to imagine Sheena wants to.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Well, that's what's so juicy about it.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Okay. Okay.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So Sheena... There's a lot to Sheena that I relate to.
- 5:20Speaker 3: They call her the pick-me girl. And people would say
- 5:24Speaker 3: that about me when I was on the panel. And just,
- 5:28Speaker 3: you know, just sort of like happy. And people would say, oh,
- 5:31Speaker 3: you make it about yourself and all this other stuff.
- 5:35Speaker 3: But very entertaining. And truly the reason Vanderpump had a
- 5:39Speaker 3: reason to go was because of her connection with having
- 5:42Speaker 3: this affair prior to... you know, before we see it.
- 5:46Speaker 3: But in the past, she had had an affair with
- 5:48Speaker 3: Eddie Cibrian, who was Brandi Glanville's husband. And so, you know,
- 5:53Speaker 3: it launched there. So it's crazy that now, third season
- 5:58Speaker 3: of Valley, which we all thought. So I, to just
- 6:02Speaker 3: fill you in, she wrote a book that is a
- 6:04Speaker 3: New York Times bestseller. And one of the main bomb
- 6:08Speaker 3: drop that nobody knew until the book was like out
- 6:12Speaker 3: and on the shelves was is that her husband, now
- 6:15Speaker 3: husband Brock, before they were married, they got pregnant with
- 6:19Speaker 3: their daughter, Summer Moon. And while she was pregnant, Brock
- 6:22Speaker 3: had an affair. And Brock let her know, ironically, during
- 6:29Speaker 3: the actual unfolding of Scandival, that two years prior, he
- 6:34Speaker 3: had an affair because he was seeing Reddits and things
- 6:38Speaker 3: and he thought it would come out. She took it in.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Kept it to herself.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Like, didn't tell anybody.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Oh, so they're saying it was unfair of her to
- 6:49Speaker 4: not be revealing misinformation while Scandival was coming out?
- 6:52Speaker 3: Some people think that. Some people appreciate that in the
- 6:55Speaker 3: book she explained, now she explains what was going on
- 6:59Speaker 3: during her life. But me personally, I was like, first
- 7:02Speaker 3: of all, brilliant to save the nugget for your book.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Because you're given everything on reality shows. You have your
- 7:09Speaker 3: own podcast. You've done a million interviews. Like, you've got
- 7:11Speaker 3: to save some stuff for your book. However, I was like, okay,
- 7:17Speaker 3: what was the logic behind sharing it? One is you
- 7:21Speaker 3: just want to be authentic. Okay, that's noble. But let's
- 7:24Speaker 3: make some lemonade out of it. So I'm thinking, okay,
- 7:29Speaker 3: you're going to come on the Valley. We're going to
- 7:31Speaker 3: have discussions with you and Brock. That, you know, that
- 7:35Speaker 3: you've gotten past it or that.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Was she being gatekeepy about it? Was she saying, I'm
- 7:39Speaker 4: not going to talk about this?
- 7:40Speaker 3: No, I don't think so.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I don't know. So anyway, so that's what I thought
- 7:44Speaker 3: would happen.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Then there was rumblings where she and Lala weren't getting along,
- 7:49Speaker 3: which I kind of went through on the last episode.
- 7:52Speaker 3: And so I was like, well, then that'll be really
- 7:54Speaker 3: great to kind of see them manage, you know, because
- 7:57Speaker 3: so much of these friendships with in-house wives and stuff,
- 8:00Speaker 3: Some of it has– a lot of it has to
- 8:02Speaker 3: do with the actual filming of the show or a
- 8:04Speaker 3: brand deal that you're both up for. Or we did
- 8:06Speaker 3: a commercial and she was acting like a diva. And, like,
- 8:09Speaker 3: it's not just what we're seeing about, oh, you didn't
- 8:11Speaker 3: bring the carrot cake. It's like, you know, and now
- 8:14Speaker 3: they kind of break the fourth wall and we can
- 8:15Speaker 3: see that they all have these big careers.
- 8:17Speaker 4: I love when you have a flashback to a reunion
- 8:19Speaker 4: episode during an actual episode.
- 8:21Speaker 3: And then they call it New York. They're like, what
- 8:23Speaker 3: happened in New York?
- 8:24Speaker 4: What happened in New York?
- 8:25Speaker 3: Because they can't– they don't say the reunion. Okay, fine.
- 8:27Speaker 3: So then– I see she's not doing The Valley. And
- 8:33Speaker 3: rumors are, oh, it's because she exposed too much about
- 8:38Speaker 3: how they make reality TV in her book, and Bravo's pissed.
- 8:41Speaker 3: So she has Alex Batson come on her show, and
- 8:45Speaker 3: he's the producer of that stuff. And he's like, no,
- 8:47Speaker 3: that's not the case. We did give you a compelling offer.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I thought it was a compelling offer. And she's like,
- 8:53Speaker 3: and I chose no, because she saw a comment- that
- 8:59Speaker 3: really stuck with her where someone said, I feel like
- 9:02Speaker 3: Sheena is the girl who graduated from high school and
- 9:04Speaker 3: keeps coming back to the high school parties. But I wish.
- 9:08Speaker 3: But that's what. I wish she would have.
- 9:10Speaker 4: The Valley is community college. The Valley is community college
- 9:14Speaker 4: for reality TV. It's its point is that it's, you know,
- 9:17Speaker 4: it's that you've moved along, but like you haven't moved away.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I totally get her point and her desire to do
- 9:25Speaker 3: other things. And, you know, she's maybe it was, in
- 9:31Speaker 3: viewing the offer, which maybe the money wasn't that great.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Maybe it was, okay, I do wanna make this marriage
- 9:38Speaker 3: work and I don't think rehashing it, which I'm going
- 9:41Speaker 3: to have to do is gonna be good for my family.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I don't know, but she turned it down. She turned
- 9:46Speaker 3: it down and yeah, and I feel the same way.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Like I was like, well, but what's smart about Sheena
- 9:55Speaker 3: is that she didn't go off with guns a blazing
- 9:58Speaker 3: and flipping them off and threatening to sue or something
- 10:01Speaker 3: she's just like hey, never say never, thanks for coming
- 10:03Speaker 3: on my show. And I think Alex Baskin is also
- 10:06Speaker 3: smart enough to know that, yeah, maybe next season you'll
- 10:09Speaker 3: want to come on and it'll even be juicier. Whatever
- 10:12Speaker 3: your life is, that's a thing. I mean, I do
- 10:14Speaker 3: really think it's hard when your main, your business is
- 10:18Speaker 3: just being you and what goes on in your life.
- 10:21Speaker 3: And then they're like, you need to share this. And
- 10:24Speaker 3: if you don't share it, they get mad. And if
- 10:26Speaker 3: you share it, then you could really fuck up the
- 10:28Speaker 3: trajectory of your marriage or your kids.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Well, it's something that I think you have encountered as
- 10:33Speaker 4: somebody who like loves this stuff and pays a lot
- 10:35Speaker 4: of attention to it, but also you have an amazing,
- 10:39Speaker 4: like artistic career. And like some of these people, the
- 10:44Speaker 4: only skill that they have is stirring the shit, you know? And,
- 10:48Speaker 4: and like, it can be rough when the only thing you,
- 10:52Speaker 4: when your most marketable skill is starting a fight. I
- 10:55Speaker 4: have a question for you. I have so much respect
- 10:57Speaker 4: for the women who managed, I think it was only, Well, no,
- 11:00Speaker 4: I mean, like for everyone who managed to fuck their
- 11:03Speaker 4: way onto that show inside of like a permanent basis,
- 11:06Speaker 4: including Brock, but.
- 11:08Speaker 3: You mean, oh, find a relationship of someone who's cast
- 11:11Speaker 3: and then you become a cast member.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Brittany and Raquel. And like the fundamental question for me
- 11:17Speaker 4: has to be, was it chicken shit of Raquel to
- 11:23Speaker 4: get herself into that situation and then be like, I
- 11:25Speaker 4: can't deal with it? Or like part of me is
- 11:28Speaker 4: sympathetic to it must have felt like the world hated
- 11:32Speaker 4: you when it, when Scandaval came out.
- 11:35Speaker 3: I mean, it did. She had like major mental health issues.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Like she went to like a place.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 3: And now she is, got a great boyfriend. She was
- 11:47Speaker 3: doing a podcast, which she stopped where she'd recap the show.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Terrible podcast.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Well, I also, I think mentally like, yeah, just like
- 11:55Speaker 3: anything in this world of social media, it's like, yeah
- 11:58Speaker 3: stop following someone mute them yeah like you don't need
- 12:01Speaker 3: to see all the fun they're having without you you
- 12:03Speaker 3: don't need to see them filming without you they always
- 12:05Speaker 3: make such a big deal like oh my god garcelle
- 12:07Speaker 3: from real houses of beverly hills stopped following all the
- 12:10Speaker 3: cast members that's what you should do yeah like you
- 12:13Speaker 3: shouldn't be seeing them all doing stuff because you know
- 12:17Speaker 3: that when you look at it it gives you like
- 12:19Speaker 3: an emotional reaction because it's painful and like And maybe
- 12:25Speaker 3: you want people to know that you've moved on and
- 12:27Speaker 3: you're not following them.
- 12:28Speaker 4: I feel like the Garcells and the Heather Dubros and, like,
- 12:34Speaker 4: maybe not Lisa, but, like, definitely Eileen Davidson, like, took
- 12:39Speaker 4: it as a job. Did it as a job to
- 12:42Speaker 4: help their career.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:43Speaker 4: And then when they were done, went off and treated
- 12:46Speaker 4: it like it was a job.
- 12:48Speaker 3: A stint.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Yeah, very, very interesting, too.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:51Speaker 3: And I think they probably, you know, it's fun to
- 12:54Speaker 3: have a star, but they probably are like, yeah, no,
- 12:56Speaker 3: we want a lifer. Like, we want a lifer. We
- 12:58Speaker 3: want someone who's going to get tenure, who's going to,
- 13:01Speaker 3: you know, have no way getting out. They're going to
- 13:03Speaker 3: have to be trapped because they're going to get addicted
- 13:05Speaker 3: to the fame. Terry Dubrow was recently being interviewed, Heather
- 13:10Speaker 3: Dubrow's husband, who's a plastic surgeon from OC, and he said...
- 13:15Speaker 3: all the women hate, this is what he said. I
- 13:17Speaker 3: thought it was pretty, he goes, all the women hate
- 13:20Speaker 3: doing the show, but they are addicted to now being famous.
- 13:26Speaker 3: And he said, I like being famous too. Being a
- 13:29Speaker 3: reality star is different than being Tom Cruise. I can
- 13:31Speaker 3: go to restaurants.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I'm just famous enough where it's fun.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:35Speaker 3: And it does not like I have to, you know,
- 13:38Speaker 3: I can't have a day on my own. Like it's
- 13:39Speaker 3: never like that because a lot of people don't watch
- 13:41Speaker 3: the shows and don't know who you are.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 3: And, But yeah, the fact that now it's become this
- 13:47Speaker 3: thing where you have to fight. And I mean, I'm
- 13:50Speaker 3: just like, The anxiety that I get sometimes when I'm like,
- 13:54Speaker 3: I have an episode that comes out that maybe I
- 13:56Speaker 3: said one thing that people were like, how dare you
- 13:59Speaker 3: say that? Like, I even get like, ooh. And then
- 14:02Speaker 3: I'm like, wow, if this was with people that I
- 14:05Speaker 3: really were friends with and then all the pile on
- 14:08Speaker 3: of all the people now and what it's become, podcasting.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Instagram people talking about it. It's a lot. Yeah.
- 14:16Speaker 4: There's been criticism, like some people have criticized in Taylor
- 14:20Speaker 4: Swift's new album, sort of some of the things that
- 14:22Speaker 4: she says about the experience of being famous. And like,
- 14:26Speaker 4: I'm speaking, thinking specifically of a lyric that is about
- 14:28Speaker 4: like an eldest daughter. I think like how easy it
- 14:33Speaker 4: is to criticize people and how everybody just put on
- 14:35Speaker 4: wolf's clothing and acts like looks fire. And basically it's
- 14:40Speaker 4: much easier to be aggressive and act like nothing impacts
- 14:43Speaker 4: you that it is to be like honest and emotionally
- 14:46Speaker 4: vulnerable in this time. And I do think it is
- 14:48Speaker 4: something more universal than just something experienced by the biggest
- 14:51Speaker 4: pop star in the world. But I also think there's
- 14:53Speaker 4: something like interesting. I think there are some people in
- 14:58Speaker 4: public discourse who have become very comfortable with being wrong
- 15:02Speaker 4: and just like saying things and doing things that are
- 15:05Speaker 4: wrong sometimes and accepting that that is the cost of
- 15:07Speaker 4: doing business when there are cameras on you all the time.
- 15:10Speaker 4: And I think the fear of that and trying, trying
- 15:14Speaker 4: to because it is hard when people criticize you yeah
- 15:17Speaker 4: but also that is it's going to happen and you
- 15:20Speaker 4: just kind of have to like.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Walk through it and now it's like we're used to
- 15:25Speaker 3: the housewives like fighting and saying mean things and bringing
- 15:29Speaker 3: up you know horrible things about their business stuff and
- 15:31Speaker 3: we're like used to it and when it doesn't happen
- 15:34Speaker 3: we're like oh that was kind of boring like because
- 15:37Speaker 3: now that's what we're used to.
- 15:38Speaker 4: No absolutely like i mean I am a bad Housewife
- 15:43Speaker 4: viewer because I love Carol Radswell, who was always a
- 15:50Speaker 4: little bit above the fray and sometimes not doing the
- 15:53Speaker 4: job that she needed to be doing of keeping the
- 15:55Speaker 4: shit stirred. But I just need to say, my one
- 15:58Speaker 4: big takeaway from 12 seasons of Vanderpump Rules is... That
- 16:04Speaker 4: sandwich shop is really good.
- 16:06Speaker 3: You ate at it?
- 16:08Speaker 4: Yes.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Katie, I'm glad it's still happening. I have yet to
- 16:13Speaker 3: get over there, but I don't live nearby.
- 16:14Speaker 4: That's the thing. I have gone to celebrate the experience
- 16:18Speaker 4: to many Vanderpump restaurants. And, you know, I got a
- 16:21Speaker 4: fine steak and a beverage, but I was mostly there
- 16:24Speaker 4: for vibes.
- 16:25Speaker 3: You got a steak sandwich. And energy.
- 16:27Speaker 4: No, I'm saying at like.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Oh, at the Vanderpump. So what did you get at
- 16:31Speaker 3: the sandwich shop?
- 16:32Speaker 4: One time I got the Nancy, but converted to a
- 16:36Speaker 4: California club. So it's like sourdough bread, turkey, avocado, bacon,
- 16:43Speaker 4: which is like.
- 16:43Speaker 3: You can't go wrong.
- 16:44Speaker 4: The sandwich I love most. And it's a very good
- 16:46Speaker 4: execution of it. And then one time I got. the Cameron,
- 16:49Speaker 4: which is like Italian cold cuts on focaccia. And like,
- 16:55Speaker 4: I was expecting it to be a mediocre restaurant that
- 17:00Speaker 4: was surviving off of the fact that it was two
- 17:02Speaker 4: people from Vanderpump and that they have a good viable business,
- 17:06Speaker 4: especially after how on earth did Tom and Tom fuck
- 17:10Speaker 4: up Schwartz and Sandy's? Like, I don't understand that. with
- 17:14Speaker 4: all of that free advertising.
- 17:16Speaker 3: I think it, because they spent, I think it was
- 17:19Speaker 3: a few things. The location.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Wasn't a place where kids would like bar hop, which
- 17:25Speaker 3: is why, you know, in West Hollywood, where it was like,
- 17:27Speaker 3: you could, if you're traveling and you wanted to have
- 17:30Speaker 3: a little fun thing, you could go to the pump.
- 17:32Speaker 3: You could go to Vanderpump. You could go to Tom Tom's.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 3: You could go. Then there's other bars right there to
- 17:37Speaker 3: go to.
- 17:38Speaker 4: It kills me. So rooster fish, a bar from Venice
- 17:41Speaker 4: took over, uh, the pump location. And every time I
- 17:45Speaker 4: see Lisa's olive trees and I'm like, she brought in
- 17:48Speaker 4: those olive trees. It tears me apart.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Okay. So I think that was part of it. I
- 17:53Speaker 3: think they made it like a little too high end
- 17:57Speaker 3: and they spent too much on the decor. And so, yeah,
- 18:02Speaker 3: I think you, you need to have a simpler plan.
- 18:06Speaker 3: And I actually, that's why the sandwich shop does great. Like,
- 18:09Speaker 3: I think that's why it's still there and great.
- 18:11Speaker 5: Christmas shopping has already started in our house. My daughter
- 18:15Speaker 5: is so organised, already planning Christmas gifts from Macaulay. Hair
- 18:19Speaker 5: care for her aunt and a fab fragrance for her bestie.
- 18:22Speaker 5: But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I'm
- 18:24Speaker 5: an early bird, buying one present a week from now
- 18:26Speaker 5: till Christmas, which makes budgeting less stressful. I can buy
- 18:29Speaker 5: in-store or online from Macaulay.ie for home delivery or free
- 18:34Speaker 5: click and collect.
- 18:35Speaker 3: So easy.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Gifts they'll cherish at prices you'll love.
- 18:41Speaker 6: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 18:44Speaker 6: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 18:47Speaker 6: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 18:52Speaker 6: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 18:54Speaker 5: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 19:00Speaker 3: filed against me.
- 19:01Speaker 4: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 19:03Speaker 4: what would you do if it was given back?
- 19:06Speaker 6: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 19:08Speaker 6: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 19:11Speaker 4: He said, I have a work dad. I need a
- 19:12Speaker 4: home dad. What happens next? When I came in, he
- 19:15Speaker 4: started crying.
- 19:16Speaker 6: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 19:20Speaker 6: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 19:23Speaker 6: happens next.
- 19:24Speaker 3: I decided to risk it all.
- 19:25Speaker 4: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work. Listen, Dara,
- 19:29Speaker 4: I'm not going to pull punches.
- 19:31Speaker 3: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 19:33Speaker 6: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 19:36Speaker 6: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 19:46Speaker 3: Now, speaking of which, Katie and Lala... were not having
- 19:52Speaker 3: talked for like a year.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 19:54Speaker 3: And she, I just saw that she said on her show, Lala,
- 19:58Speaker 3: I am reaching, I wanted to reach out maybe and
- 20:02Speaker 3: make up with Katie. What would be your advice to,
- 20:07Speaker 3: in this situation to the girls?
- 20:09Speaker 4: I don't know that I've ever seen someone successfully make
- 20:11Speaker 4: up with Katie. Like she seems to be, I mean,
- 20:16Speaker 4: like did Stassi manage to do it once or twice?
- 20:19Speaker 4: But like Katie can be very much in her own
- 20:25Speaker 4: emotions and she can, you know, get dark. And that's
- 20:30Speaker 4: really rough for me where I think Lala is like,
- 20:34Speaker 4: for all of the ridiculousness of Lala, I think there
- 20:36Speaker 4: is like, a balance and a center and a sense
- 20:39Speaker 4: of self. And I really respect that she's taking on
- 20:41Speaker 4: the task of getting back in a good place with Katie.
- 20:45Speaker 4: I just think it's hard work and I don't know
- 20:47Speaker 4: if it would ultimately be worth it. Like, I think
- 20:49Speaker 4: Katie is also a very grounded person. I think that
- 20:53Speaker 4: she just, I would love to know her star sign.
- 20:55Speaker 4: She's very, she holds a grudge.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 20:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Yes. So, all right. So do you have any more questions?
- 21:04Speaker 3: Are you going to watch The Valley?
- 21:05Speaker 4: I mean, I am going to watch The Valley just because, like.
- 21:08Speaker 3: So now you're going to start watching The Valley? Yes.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Because you have two full seasons to watch.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Well, I mean, realizing that, like, I'm going to start
- 21:14Speaker 4: out from a place of Britney still likes Jax at
- 21:17Speaker 4: the beginning of that.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Yes.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Hilarious. I do find it amusing that she left that
- 21:23Speaker 4: military show after a single day. I expected more from Britney.
- 21:27Speaker 3: So I mentioned thinking that you would get— how much money
- 21:32Speaker 3: you get— It has been confirmed through multiple sources to
- 21:35Speaker 3: me that you get that chunk of money whether you
- 21:39Speaker 3: stay one day or all of them.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Don't you think, as an EP, that's a stupid plan?
- 21:45Speaker 4: That's a very stupid plan.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Like, I mean, fine, I'm leaving the first day, too.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:50Speaker 3: You better fucking believe it.
- 21:51Speaker 4: I mean, she probably just wanted to get back to it.
- 21:55Speaker 3: And that was after I thought I praised her because
- 21:57Speaker 3: she was going to clean the toilets. But I also
- 21:58Speaker 3: don't blame her for leaving.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Yes.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Like, I mean, it's physically I don't care how much
- 22:02Speaker 3: you've worked out. It's so hard. And as a woman,
- 22:06Speaker 3: if you're not physically fit and you're doing, you know,
- 22:08Speaker 3: a very physical job of what they want you to do,
- 22:12Speaker 3: like haul up shit up a stairs.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Oh, God. Also, this is their career. And like when
- 22:17Speaker 4: people see you being to some extent a bad sport
- 22:20Speaker 4: in that way, they're not going to want to let you,
- 22:23Speaker 4: you know, come sing in a mask. Um, but I
- 22:27Speaker 4: like ultimately, okay. The last question I want to ask
- 22:30Speaker 4: you is how do you feel about Ariana's transformation? Just
- 22:38Speaker 4: because one of the amazing things about Vanderpump is that
- 22:41Speaker 4: it takes the premise that these people want to be
- 22:44Speaker 4: actors or singers, and it sort of pulls it apart
- 22:46Speaker 4: by saying, what if we just make you famous on
- 22:48Speaker 4: your own terms? And a lot of people give that up.
- 22:50Speaker 4: And there were so many people with singing careers in
- 22:52Speaker 4: season three that did not have them later on. Um,
- 22:55Speaker 4: but Ariana, like, once Scandival happened and she had so
- 22:59Speaker 4: much sympathy, Love Island came through, Chicago came through, so
- 23:04Speaker 4: many of these real opportunities that she had been training for.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Let us never forget, Ariana takes sketch comedy very seriously.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Which I love.
- 23:13Speaker 4: But I did have, like, I wondered about her, like,
- 23:20Speaker 4: leaving behind the transparency. Like, she was never the most transparent.
- 23:25Speaker 3: No, she wasn't. And I think, you know, there's no
- 23:29Speaker 3: formula to making it work.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Yes.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Because, you know, she didn't share a lot. She wasn't
- 23:35Speaker 3: a compelling character to watch on Vanderpump. Always pretty. Didn't have, like,
- 23:41Speaker 3: great one-liner moments like a Stassi or anything.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Yes.
- 23:44Speaker 3: But had the.
- 23:45Speaker 4: True confidence of a very pretty girl.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Right. And then when this shit went down... it was
- 23:51Speaker 3: so amazing to see her act in the moment of
- 23:55Speaker 3: like screaming at her ex, like, I don't give a
- 23:57Speaker 3: fuck about Raquel. Like she really just gained this, like
- 24:03Speaker 3: this fan base and then got these opportunities and executed them. And,
- 24:08Speaker 3: and yeah, it was the most amazing, horrible thing that
- 24:13Speaker 3: turned into something great. And I mean, I remember right
- 24:16Speaker 3: when it happened, she like, shut down her Instagram and
- 24:20Speaker 3: I was like to Lala oh my god she shouldn't
- 24:22Speaker 3: do that like you know it's like every there's no
- 24:25Speaker 3: there's no rules to it so I would say what
- 24:27Speaker 3: I do think is is hard is like you know
- 24:30Speaker 3: lawless I mean um Sheena said I just had such
- 24:33Speaker 3: a good time doing an episode of Lopez versus Lopez
- 24:36Speaker 3: like I kind of want to explore what other things
- 24:37Speaker 3: I can do since I want to be an actress However,
- 24:41Speaker 3: we know that when you're, you know, Greg Brady for
- 24:46Speaker 3: five years on the Brady Bunch, it was really hard
- 24:48Speaker 3: for you to get other work without people always seeing
- 24:50Speaker 3: you as Greg Brady or whatever. So yes, now that
- 24:54Speaker 3: you were, now that you were a like no name
- 24:57Speaker 3: in the reality world, I do think it's going to
- 25:00Speaker 3: be hard to get other jobs as an actor or
- 25:03Speaker 3: even a host. I do. But I hope it works out.
- 25:06Speaker 4: I think she's very well positioned to continue doing what
- 25:09Speaker 4: she's doing with Love Island.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Not for her. I'm saying for other people. Like I said,
- 25:15Speaker 3: Heather Dubrow is taking growlings classes and she's like, I
- 25:18Speaker 3: want to get into acting again. And I don't think
- 25:20Speaker 3: that she got parts thrown to her throughout the years
- 25:23Speaker 3: of doing the OC. But I'm just saying it would
- 25:27Speaker 3: be weird to see her Like, I just feel like
- 25:29Speaker 3: when a housewife's placed into something, it's kind of few
- 25:31Speaker 3: and far between just because we know them as this
- 25:33Speaker 3: other person. I think it's a gamble.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Heather Dubrow is the exception. Heather Dubrow is a fucking pro.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Okay, I agree.
- 25:39Speaker 4: I have no doubts about that. But also, I just
- 25:40Speaker 4: want to say, the thing that Ariana gave that was like,
- 25:45Speaker 4: to me, the most interesting and transparent was that moment of,
- 25:48Speaker 4: then why won't you have this conversation with me when
- 25:51Speaker 4: the cameras aren't on? And that real understanding- With Tom Sandoval.
- 25:55Speaker 4: With Tom Sandoval. Just sort of understanding- have a relationship
- 25:59Speaker 4: that may like that may be fiction and like that
- 26:03Speaker 4: was fiction and i didn't realize it's you.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Know i mean it's all the truman show i mean
- 26:08Speaker 3: it's like so the truman show and then when you
- 26:10Speaker 3: see that these kids are part of it it's just
- 26:13Speaker 3: it's that movie is exactly what we're living now and
- 26:16Speaker 3: it was only like 20 years ago it's.
- 26:18Speaker 4: Lenny's so fucking good in that movie who Laura Linney plays.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Oh, yes, the mom.
- 26:23Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 26:24Speaker 3: It's an amazing movie that.
- 26:25Speaker 4: If you watch... I think she's like the... Is she
- 26:27Speaker 4: the wife? I think she's like his wife.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Yes, on it.
- 26:29Speaker 3: And I feel like too many people are like making
- 26:32Speaker 3: their kid a Truman.
- 26:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:34Speaker 3: And they have never sat down to watch that movie
- 26:36Speaker 3: and they probably should.
- 26:38Speaker 4: So do... Okay. I am obsessed with this Orthodox Jewish
- 26:42Speaker 4: tiktoker and her like five daughters.
- 26:45Speaker 5: Yes.
- 26:45Speaker 4: And like some people are very critical of... of having
- 26:47Speaker 4: the daughters on the TikTok channel.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:50Speaker 4: I think kids are hilarious and fun, but it is
- 26:52Speaker 4: putting your kids out there. How do you feel about
- 26:56Speaker 4: people using their kids on their socials and stuff?
- 27:00Speaker 3: I think it's very, very hard. And I, I don't know. I,
- 27:05Speaker 3: I mean, I remember when I first started my Instagram and, and,
- 27:10Speaker 3: and all that when we were in Chelsea lately and
- 27:11Speaker 3: I like purposely never showed the kids.
- 27:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:15Speaker 3: And I, I would talk about them on stage and stuff,
- 27:17Speaker 3: but like, I wouldn't like show their faces or anything.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 3: And then I was like, Oh, I guess that would
- 27:23Speaker 3: have been okay. Like when I saw like other people
- 27:25Speaker 3: doing it and I'm like, Oh, I wonder if I
- 27:28Speaker 3: should have like exploited the more then, you know, but
- 27:32Speaker 3: so I get that now it's like, Everybody does it. But, no,
- 27:37Speaker 3: I've talked about it at length of, like, how dangerous
- 27:39Speaker 3: it can be. And now, especially when it's your income.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Yes.
- 27:43Speaker 3: When it's your income and then you're, like, I, you know,
- 27:46Speaker 3: I had this one journalist on. And there was a
- 27:51Speaker 3: girl that had to do a brand deal about when
- 27:54Speaker 3: she got her period.
- 27:55Speaker 6: And.
- 27:57Speaker 3: You know, and her mom did a whole video on
- 27:59Speaker 3: making her a period like gift basket. And then she
- 28:02Speaker 3: had to talk about the pad that she likes at
- 28:05Speaker 3: like 13. And when these kids say, I don't want
- 28:09Speaker 3: to do it, then the parent will say, okay, I
- 28:12Speaker 3: guess we have to sell the house. And it's like,
- 28:14Speaker 3: I'm 13.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Yeah. None of the protections that are there for a
- 28:17Speaker 4: kid who's on a set, you know?
- 28:19Speaker 3: I mean, it's just like when your kid is doing
- 28:21Speaker 3: gymnastics or a sport. And then at like 12, they're like,
- 28:24Speaker 3: I don't want to do soccer anymore. And you're like, what,
- 28:27Speaker 3: but you did soccer all this time? And they're like, yeah,
- 28:29Speaker 3: I'm not into it anymore. The same thing happens with
- 28:31Speaker 3: a child dancing around at four that's acting completely into it.
- 28:35Speaker 3: And then at 11, they might be like, no mom,
- 28:38Speaker 3: like I don't want the camera in my face. And
- 28:40Speaker 3: then their opinions and privacy are no longer respected because
- 28:44Speaker 3: there's a paycheck that supports the whole family. So that's
- 28:47Speaker 3: why I think it's dangerous. And same thing with the
- 28:50Speaker 3: reality show. Like I have said in Real Housewives of
- 28:55Speaker 3: Salt Lake City, Mary's son has a drug addiction problem,
- 29:00Speaker 3: and they have this heart-whelming conversation, but the kid admits, yeah,
- 29:05Speaker 3: I used today, I used today. And why, he's like,
- 29:09Speaker 3: I had a lot of anxiety. She's like, why? He's like,
- 29:10Speaker 3: I just had a lot of anxiety today. And I
- 29:13Speaker 3: was like, you had a lot of anxiety because your
- 29:14Speaker 3: mom told you the camera people are coming at four o'clock.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Don't put your kid on camera. It's stressful. And then
- 29:21Speaker 3: have people write about you and talk about you and like,
- 29:23Speaker 3: I don't think this is good for your rehab. I
- 29:26Speaker 3: liked watching Intervention 2, but a lot of those people
- 29:29Speaker 3: didn't make it either. I don't know that we should
- 29:32Speaker 3: be watching these people when they're in a state where
- 29:34Speaker 3: they really can't give consent, adult or not.
- 29:38Speaker 4: My friends who have- kids who are like 12 to
- 29:43Speaker 4: 15 are in a state of constant war and the
- 29:47Speaker 4: notion of having to do that while servicing brands or
- 29:52Speaker 4: bravo just seems terrifying you know.
- 29:55Speaker 3: It's a lot. Let's get into a couple more topics
- 29:58Speaker 3: and then we'll get back to the housewives.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Okay.
- 29:59Speaker 3: This was juicy. Ben Affleck is a executive producer on
- 30:05Speaker 3: Jennifer Lopez's new movie, Kiss of a Spider Woman. And
- 30:09Speaker 3: so they saw each other on the red carpet and
- 30:12Speaker 3: it looked like he was telling her stuff, probably how
- 30:16Speaker 3: great she was in the movie. And she was smiling
- 30:20Speaker 3: and it seemed to appear to be fine. And then
- 30:24Speaker 3: she was on there with her twins, who are 17,
- 30:27Speaker 3: the boy-girl twins. And she said, we're looking at colleges.
- 30:31Speaker 3: And everyone says they look just like Marc Anthony. But
- 30:34Speaker 3: the girl, if you zoom in, she has exactly J-Lo's eyes.
- 30:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:39Speaker 3: She has exactly J-Lo's eyes. Anyway, and then she did
- 30:45Speaker 3: remove that weird black thing. for the dinner, but it's
- 30:49Speaker 3: kind of good because it's sort of spidery.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Right, right. It's very, you know, figure eight, Black Widow-y
- 30:54Speaker 4: kind of thing. Like, we have lost a lot of
- 30:59Speaker 4: true glamour, and I think their messy on-again, off-again is
- 31:04Speaker 4: the closest thing we have to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard
- 31:07Speaker 4: Burton that's going on today. I also think she's capable
- 31:13Speaker 4: of good performances. Like, she gave us one truly great
- 31:16Speaker 4: performance in Out of Sight, and we've been waiting to
- 31:19Speaker 4: see that again. And, like, if she can kill it
- 31:22Speaker 4: in Kiss of the Spider.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Woman— Supposedly this is going to be her thing. Like,
- 31:26Speaker 3: this is getting a lot of buzz.
- 31:28Speaker 4: And also it's a musical, which means she will be
- 31:30Speaker 4: nominated for a Golden Globe, which, like, sets her up
- 31:33Speaker 4: nicely to maybe get an Oscar nomination. So having some
- 31:36Speaker 4: buzz going on is a good thing. I mean, Ben
- 31:39Speaker 4: Affleck is— ridiculous but also he directed argo you know
- 31:44Speaker 4: um like that back tattoo does not take away the
- 31:47Speaker 4: fact that he is an academy award winner and a
- 31:49Speaker 4: very capable filmmaker and like i love them having this
- 31:53Speaker 4: dance back and forth.
- 31:55Speaker 3: And let's not forget didn't he screw the nanny oh
- 32:00Speaker 3: did he I allegedly, I'm believing that he had some,
- 32:05Speaker 3: or there was rumors or something that there was a
- 32:09Speaker 3: nanny during his Jennifer Gardner stint. So it's like anyone
- 32:13Speaker 3: that I think gets with the help is the lowest
- 32:18Speaker 3: of the low.
- 32:18Speaker 4: He is a Dunkin' Donuts swilling, like goon, but also like.
- 32:26Speaker 3: But hot as shit, in my opinion, still hot.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Even with that back tattoo. Yeah.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Well, I, my favorite time was him in the town.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Oh yes.
- 32:36Speaker 3: So that's his hottest taste movie.
- 32:38Speaker 4: But the thing is, is like, I feel like he
- 32:41Speaker 4: swings back towards her and there is this element of
- 32:43Speaker 4: chaos and glamor to the two of them together. I
- 32:47Speaker 4: just love knowing that Jennifer Garner is safe, you know,
- 32:51Speaker 4: posting Instagram reels of recipes from her kitchen, like makes
- 32:55Speaker 4: me happy, but like, I'm glad that this is going on. And,
- 32:59Speaker 4: even if they're just doing it for the camera is
- 33:01Speaker 4: good and you never know where it could go.
- 33:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:04Speaker 3: So they said that then he like left and then
- 33:06Speaker 3: she got to have her fun at the after party
- 33:08Speaker 3: and having people come up to her and yeah.
- 33:11Speaker 4: She'll never be a States woman. Like she, like a
- 33:15Speaker 4: States woman.
- 33:16Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 33:16Speaker 4: Just sort of like a big deal above the fray.
- 33:20Speaker 4: The way that some of these people who are like
- 33:22Speaker 4: big star Gwyneth Paltrow, you know, like, Jennifer Lopez will
- 33:27Speaker 4: never get into a safe relationship with a television producer
- 33:30Speaker 4: and have her brands and dress in elegant white. She
- 33:33Speaker 4: will dress in elegant white while she is doing somewhat
- 33:39Speaker 4: goofy and sometimes amazing things.
- 33:43Speaker 3: I think she didn't realize that she could be above
- 33:49Speaker 3: it all. And I think that she is a workaholic person.
- 33:52Speaker 3: And I think she said yes to too many things
- 33:54Speaker 3: along the way. Too many brands. She became, you know,
- 33:58Speaker 3: like when all these people become like an influencer like
- 34:02Speaker 3: the rest of us, I'm like, you shouldn't have to
- 34:05Speaker 3: do that. Like you're J-Lo. And that's where I think
- 34:08Speaker 3: this is, if she can stick to like doing cool
- 34:12Speaker 3: stuff like this as she enters the next phase of
- 34:15Speaker 3: life and kind of stays above it and knows like,
- 34:19Speaker 3: I don't have to do all these things. Like she
- 34:22Speaker 3: was going to do products with like A-Rod at one point.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 3: What are you thinking, girl?
- 34:27Speaker 4: She likes being famous more than she likes any of
- 34:30Speaker 4: the things that she is very good at doing. And
- 34:33Speaker 4: that's rough.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Maybe so. Maybe that's what it is. I mean, I
- 34:37Speaker 3: love her style and her look like more than anybody.
- 34:40Speaker 4: I mean, she's gorgeous and so talented. All right.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Let's talk. I just want to get your opinion now
- 34:45Speaker 3: that it's been a week since the you know, Saudi
- 34:49Speaker 3: Arabian comedy festival that got a lot of talk. Many
- 34:55Speaker 3: comedians went, some defended themselves. Jessica Kershon, who really popped,
- 35:04Speaker 3: she's been a working comic for a long time. She
- 35:06Speaker 3: came on my show once, but she really popped when
- 35:11Speaker 3: she was doing a lot of stage work that went viral.
- 35:14Speaker 3: And she is a lesbian. She is a mother. And
- 35:18Speaker 3: she went and she came back and did a lengthy
- 35:23Speaker 3: apology to her fans. And she said she would be
- 35:26Speaker 3: donating her entire amount that she made to a civil
- 35:31Speaker 3: rights or human rights organization. So I wanted to just
- 35:36Speaker 3: fill in that part.
- 35:37Speaker 4: Well, the first thing is I take weekly French lessons
- 35:41Speaker 4: on Wednesday.
- 35:41Speaker 3: You do?
- 35:42Speaker 4: Yes. Bonjour. And I, a couple of weeks ago, brought
- 35:46Speaker 4: this up. to my French instructor as like a thing
- 35:49Speaker 4: that we could talk about. And just the question of like,
- 35:53Speaker 4: you know, would I go to a country that kills
- 35:58Speaker 4: gay people and where it's, I believe illegal to be
- 36:01Speaker 4: Jewish in exchange for $ 350, 000, what Tim Dillon was getting.
- 36:06Speaker 4: And he was just like, you would, he was just like,
- 36:09Speaker 4: he was just like, you would. And the thing is,
- 36:13Speaker 4: is like, I like, It's a lot of money, and
- 36:18Speaker 4: Chris Rock, who was making a lot more than $ 350, 000,
- 36:20Speaker 4: said they paid me enough to look the other way.
- 36:23Speaker 4: Was it Chris Rock who said that? Somebody said they
- 36:25Speaker 4: paid me enough to look the other way. No, no,
- 36:26Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Bill Burr?
- 36:27Speaker 4: It was Dave Chappelle who said that. Okay. Because I
- 36:31Speaker 4: think Chris Rock has more conviction than that. And also,
- 36:35Speaker 4: for some of these people, it's like.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Some people thought, let's just talk about Dave Chappelle, is
- 36:39Speaker 3: that remember when he turned down- allegedly $ 50 million to
- 36:44Speaker 3: continue his Comedy Central show because he felt he wasn't
- 36:50Speaker 3: getting what he was getting. I don't know, but people change.
- 36:53Speaker 4: People change.
- 36:54Speaker 3: That was like 25 years ago. Maybe he's not the
- 36:57Speaker 3: same person he was 25 years ago.
- 36:59Speaker 4: He feels so aggrieved by people telling him you don't
- 37:03Speaker 4: need to constantly be saying mean things about trans people.
- 37:07Speaker 4: It's so weird that it... So many of these people
- 37:10Speaker 4: are the ones who are like, oh, there's no free
- 37:12Speaker 4: speech in America because I can't call people the F-slur
- 37:15Speaker 4: anytime I want to. And it's like, you're going to
- 37:18Speaker 4: a country where criticism of the government can get you beheaded. Like,
- 37:21Speaker 4: you're going to a country... Like, I just think, personally,
- 37:25Speaker 4: I think I shouldn't probably vacation in any country where
- 37:29Speaker 4: people are, like, going to jail or getting killed for
- 37:34Speaker 4: being gay. And that's hard because that's still a lot
- 37:37Speaker 4: of countries and... you know, I don't want to go somewhere,
- 37:41Speaker 4: and I know that it won't happen to me, but
- 37:43Speaker 4: I am only protected by my American passports, and I
- 37:46Speaker 4: need to, like, acknowledge the fact that this is a
- 37:49Speaker 4: real problem and struggle in these places and not just
- 37:53Speaker 4: breeze around on the fact that I am white and
- 37:56Speaker 4: from America.
- 37:57Speaker 3: And so do you think, so do you, how, what's
- 38:00Speaker 3: your prediction for this? Is it going to happen next year?
- 38:04Speaker 3: Are there going to, is it going to be, you know,
- 38:07Speaker 3: even a bigger festival, even more people doing it? What's
- 38:11Speaker 3: your prediction?
- 38:11Speaker 4: I don't think it will benefit or help them out
- 38:13Speaker 4: as much as like Qatar having a, was it Qatar? Yeah.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Qatar had the world cup. Like they're doing all of
- 38:19Speaker 4: these things to sort of like change the vibe of
- 38:22Speaker 4: on these countries. And, and we, one thing you need
- 38:24Speaker 4: to remember about most of these Gulf countries is that
- 38:27Speaker 4: the majority of people who live there aren't citizens. The majority, like, uh,
- 38:31Speaker 4: in the UAE, I think like 90% of the population
- 38:35Speaker 4: are guest workers who don't have any rights. And then
- 38:40Speaker 4: a small portion of the population who are citizens who
- 38:42Speaker 4: still aren't voting, but have at least the rights of,
- 38:45Speaker 4: of citizenship. And I think they're trying to distract, they're
- 38:48Speaker 4: using these things like, um, the World Cup or this
- 38:53Speaker 4: festival to sort of like make people not focus on
- 38:56Speaker 4: the civil rights and human rights issues that are going on.
- 38:59Speaker 4: I don't think it will benefit Saudi Arabia that much.
- 39:02Speaker 4: I think they'll, you know, I think music and soccer
- 39:06Speaker 4: works better.
- 39:07Speaker 3: I mean, a lot of, yeah, a lot of musicians
- 39:09Speaker 3: have gone or done private parties for an enormous amount
- 39:12Speaker 3: of money or whatever. But yeah, I saw the whole
- 39:16Speaker 3: controversy with it. I didn't want to like, be anybody
- 39:20Speaker 3: that like pointing a finger at like other comedians and
- 39:23Speaker 3: how they like make their decisions in their life.
- 39:26Speaker 4: And God knows I have pointed a finger at comedians
- 39:29Speaker 4: in past.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:30Speaker 4: Like I, I do think that this is bad, but also,
- 39:33Speaker 4: I mean, if someone said to you half a million
- 39:36Speaker 4: dollars for a week, um, and, but you would be
- 39:43Speaker 4: going to a country where bad things happen.
- 39:46Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, I can honestly say I don't know
- 39:48Speaker 3: that I'd say yes. Yeah. because I don't want for
- 39:52Speaker 3: anything really, honestly, I'm in a good place. So I
- 39:57Speaker 3: do feel like there, you know, I just would have to,
- 40:00Speaker 3: but what would probably would have convinced me is my
- 40:05Speaker 3: rep being like, and all these other people are going
- 40:09Speaker 3: and you're going to be traveling with your friends. And like,
- 40:12Speaker 3: almost like there's, there is safety in numbers. You're not
- 40:15Speaker 3: the only one that's stepping out of the box and,
- 40:18Speaker 3: and doing something. And that's why I think so many
- 40:21Speaker 3: of them did it.
- 40:22Speaker 4: But there's also, it was a bunch of dudes. It
- 40:25Speaker 4: was a bunch of dudes. And it was like, the
- 40:27Speaker 4: thing that was noteworthy about Jessica Carson is that she
- 40:29Speaker 4: was a woman and queer and Jewish. And the thing is,
- 40:32Speaker 4: is like both of you and I have to understand
- 40:35Speaker 4: that going to a country that like very notably is
- 40:38Speaker 4: terrible to women and gay guys is impacts our audience
- 40:42Speaker 4: you know and like is like you yeah you know
- 40:45Speaker 4: like you could like alienate the the people the voices
- 40:49Speaker 4: that you're trying to i agree elevate and speak to
- 40:52Speaker 4: by doing something like i.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Think also what jessica said was i thought i was
- 40:57Speaker 3: gonna you know i thought by going i'm showing people
- 41:01Speaker 3: yeah that a woman can live and think like me
- 41:04Speaker 3: and and all these things And also these people are
- 41:08Speaker 3: living there and they deserve to be entertained and have
- 41:10Speaker 3: live comedy. Like I'm saying, I think there was a
- 41:13Speaker 3: lot of thought where everybody's doing it, go. And then
- 41:19Speaker 3: once they were committed to doing it, then they had
- 41:22Speaker 3: to like sit with their team and be like, okay,
- 41:24Speaker 3: either I'm never going to respond to this. And I'm
- 41:27Speaker 3: just going to be funny and they'll be on to
- 41:29Speaker 3: something else or some conspiracy theory or something to yell
- 41:32Speaker 3: about on their keyboards a week from now. Or I
- 41:37Speaker 3: am going to do like what Jessica did and actually go, okay,
- 41:41Speaker 3: I probably, I shouldn't have done this. And I'm going
- 41:44Speaker 3: to make good because I appreciate my million Instagram followers
- 41:47Speaker 3: and I appreciate where I was. Like from five years
- 41:51Speaker 3: ago to where she is today, she's like done amazing.
- 41:54Speaker 4: Well, the other thing is, is like, Most stand-up comedians
- 41:57Speaker 4: could not find Saudi Arabia on a map, let alone
- 42:00Speaker 4: tell you what the political system is there or what's
- 42:03Speaker 4: going on. Pete Davidson is not thinking about human rights
- 42:07Speaker 4: issues in Saudi Arabia. I don't say that to excuse him.
- 42:10Speaker 4: I just say I understand that timeline makes sense to
- 42:13Speaker 4: me of it not being until someone explained it to
- 42:15Speaker 4: them that they thought about it. But I also think
- 42:19Speaker 4: there were a lot of people who have been quote-unquote
- 42:21Speaker 4: canceled who were going to it, and I think they
- 42:23Speaker 4: are people with chips on their shoulder.
- 42:25Speaker 3: Cancelled prior, you mean?
- 42:27Speaker 4: Cancelled prior. Louis C.K. And Aziz Ansari was not like,
- 42:31Speaker 4: he didn't do something.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Aziz Ansari was... On the scale of being a bad,
- 42:39Speaker 3: horrible douche.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Yes, he was a bad date.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Yeah, Harvey Weinstein at the top, Louis in the middle, like,
- 42:47Speaker 3: Aziz to my... Yeah, he had bad bedside manner. He, like,
- 42:51Speaker 3: got his BJ and, like, wasn't nice to the girl after, whatever.
- 42:55Speaker 3: I mean, but that whole thing... But it did, it
- 42:58Speaker 3: affected his career at that time. Yeah, he was on
- 43:01Speaker 3: a rise and it took a big dip.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Yes, and, I mean... I don't say this to excuse...
- 43:07Speaker 4: None of this excuses them at all. I would like
- 43:09Speaker 4: to hope that I would have the strength not to
- 43:11Speaker 4: do it.
- 43:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:12Speaker 4: But it's very easy to be a whore. You know?
- 43:14Speaker 4: It's very easy to... Yeah. I mean, the only time
- 43:18Speaker 4: that I had anything like this was there was a
- 43:21Speaker 4: Catholic college in Erie, Pennsylvania that asked me to come.
- 43:24Speaker 4: And I was one of the first gay comics who
- 43:26Speaker 4: got booked at Catholic colleges. Because Loyola and... University of
- 43:32Speaker 4: San Francisco booked me and then other places would. But
- 43:35Speaker 4: this school asked me to not say anything supportive of
- 43:40Speaker 4: gay marriage. And so the question was like, do I
- 43:43Speaker 4: go there and I break the rules? Do I go
- 43:47Speaker 4: there and play ball or do I not go there?
- 43:49Speaker 4: And I chose to not go there. What would have
- 43:52Speaker 4: been cool is if one of these guys who rants
- 43:55Speaker 4: about free speech all the time had gone there and
- 43:58Speaker 4: questioned the monarchy.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Of Saudi Arabia. Yeah, but then if you do that,
- 44:02Speaker 3: you could be in danger.
- 44:03Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 44:04Speaker 3: So why do it? So don't go then. Either you're
- 44:07Speaker 3: going to not go or you're going to go and
- 44:09Speaker 3: play by the rules and come home safe and maybe
- 44:11Speaker 3: never do it again. But, like, yeah, you're not going
- 44:12Speaker 3: to fuck around with something scary.
- 44:15Speaker 4: But I thought that they were big, bold, strong men
- 44:17Speaker 4: who challenge ideas, you know?
- 44:19Speaker 3: Well, that's the hypocrisy of it all. And that's what
- 44:22Speaker 3: I'm like, listen— 95% of Hollywood will do hypocritical things
- 44:29Speaker 3: in their career. Yes. That's that. And so you shouldn't
- 44:33Speaker 3: put them at a higher standard in any way. Right.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Especially a comedian. I kind of wonder the few comedians
- 44:42Speaker 3: that did point fingers and really go after Marc Maron.
- 44:45Speaker 4: I love that Atsuko put out there what the actual
- 44:49Speaker 4: restrictions on speech were.
- 44:50Speaker 3: And I think she's strong and super successful, but I
- 44:54Speaker 3: wonder if... Uh-huh. Like now, and I think that she
- 44:59Speaker 3: did the right thing, but my thing is like, yeah,
- 45:02Speaker 3: people may not want to fuck with her in a
- 45:04Speaker 3: good or a bad way. They might just be so
- 45:06Speaker 3: embarrassed that they're like, let's say one of those guys
- 45:09Speaker 3: has a show coming up, a sitcom in the next
- 45:12Speaker 3: year and a half. And they're like, oh, and then
- 45:15Speaker 3: we should have a, you know, like a crazy assistant.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Yes.
- 45:19Speaker 3: And someone brings her name up and they're like, um,
- 45:23Speaker 3: maybe not. And they won't say why, but it's just
- 45:26Speaker 3: because they know that she was in the right and
- 45:28Speaker 3: they're a little embarrassed about this. And so I'm saying
- 45:30Speaker 3: that's why her bravery should even be more commended.
- 45:33Speaker 4: Yes.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Because when you do speak about other people, whether they're
- 45:37Speaker 3: producers or other comedians, people will maybe not want to
- 45:40Speaker 3: work with you.
- 45:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:41Speaker 3: And so.
- 45:42Speaker 4: But it is also neat how the industry has changed. Like,
- 45:45Speaker 4: Atsuka Okatsuka is doing fine. Like, she makes her own business.
- 45:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:50Speaker 4: Much in the way that you do.
- 45:51Speaker 3: And, like... Still, but an opportunity... It only takes one
- 45:55Speaker 3: person to say no. And I'm just saying there might
- 45:57Speaker 3: be things that she'll never even be aware that she
- 46:00Speaker 3: was up for because that person is like, I just,
- 46:05Speaker 3: I'm too embarrassed to look this girl in the eye,
- 46:08Speaker 3: you know? And so that's the thing I think people
- 46:11Speaker 3: don't think about. Like, but so we'll see what happens.
- 46:16Speaker 3: He is getting his tats removed. Okay. Okay. Now let's
- 46:20Speaker 3: talk about Nicole Kidman. So she got new bangs. This
- 46:26Speaker 3: is just a wig, people. She wears wigs all the time.
- 46:29Speaker 3: But they said the bangs, I mean, she's gorgeous. She's
- 46:32Speaker 3: going through a divorce with Keith Urban. And they compared it,
- 46:35Speaker 3: page six, compared it to the revenge dress of Princess
- 46:39Speaker 3: Di that people always talk about. What do you think
- 46:43Speaker 3: about this divorce and her bangs? Are bangs a good idea?
- 46:47Speaker 4: Like, I mean, she's Nicole Kidman. She can pull off anything.
- 46:50Speaker 4: You know, I mean, she looks great there. There are
- 46:52Speaker 4: sometimes women, I think, who are using bangs defensively to
- 46:57Speaker 4: hide and shroud certain things. I don't think she is
- 47:00Speaker 4: doing that at all. I am just so excited for
- 47:03Speaker 4: Nicole Kidman. Will this be her third marriage, fourth marriage?
- 47:09Speaker 3: I want to say maybe there was like a short
- 47:11Speaker 3: marriage before Tom and then there was this one. But listen.
- 47:14Speaker 4: I want her to have a palate cleanser marriage to
- 47:16Speaker 4: just like. responsible france gynecologist or like maybe an agent
- 47:23Speaker 4: but i don't even think i don't even think an
- 47:25Speaker 4: agent i would like her to have did you watch
- 47:27Speaker 4: the documentary uh about rita moreno no uh it's so
- 47:32Speaker 4: good okay and she talks about being in love with
- 47:35Speaker 4: uh marlon brando and getting pregnant by him and him
- 47:39Speaker 4: making her terminate the pregnancy it's so juicy But she
- 47:42Speaker 4: basically is like, and then I married a doctor and
- 47:45Speaker 4: I stayed with him for 30 years until his death.
- 47:47Speaker 4: Was I ever really in love with him? I don't know.
- 47:50Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 47:51Speaker 4: I may be like misphrasing it, but still, I would
- 47:55Speaker 4: love Nicole Kidman to have that like nice, supportive, you know,
- 48:00Speaker 4: either a Salma Hayek style billionaire who just will take
- 48:03Speaker 4: care of her forever like Padma had, or just like
- 48:06Speaker 4: the nice doctor who will just be there and be
- 48:09Speaker 4: supportive of her for the next seven years.
- 48:12Speaker 3: I don't think she's going to ever get married again.
- 48:13Speaker 3: I don't think she needs to. And she'll have like
- 48:17Speaker 3: a young hot guy and she'll have her fun and
- 48:21Speaker 3: she'll keep doing her movies.
- 48:22Speaker 4: Would you like to hear my hilarious joke on this, Tom?
- 48:24Speaker 3: Yes.
- 48:24Speaker 4: Do you think this will inspire her to reconnect with
- 48:27Speaker 4: her children from Tom Cruise?
- 48:29Speaker 6: No.
- 48:30Speaker 4: Yes. I mean, it's the way that she behaves as
- 48:32Speaker 4: though those children don't exist is hilarious.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Well, what I have read in the past is that
- 48:36Speaker 3: she tried very hard to have a relationship with them.
- 48:39Speaker 3: And because they were- Scientology. Adopted to.
- 48:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:44Speaker 3: And there was always some weirdness because I believe she
- 48:48Speaker 3: did carry her daughters with him. So it was always
- 48:51Speaker 3: kind of like, whose issue was it of why they
- 48:55Speaker 3: went the adoption route?
- 48:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:57Speaker 3: And I feel like in escaping Scientology, that was just
- 49:03Speaker 3: all part of it. And I think it was very
- 49:06Speaker 3: probably sad for her. But at the same time, I
- 49:08Speaker 3: know people maybe don't want to hear this, but I
- 49:11Speaker 3: think maybe because- They weren't her biological children. And then
- 49:14Speaker 3: she moved on. Just like a man, okay? How many
- 49:17Speaker 3: times in the history of the world has a man...
- 49:20Speaker 3: gotten divorced and moved on and the first family is like,
- 49:23Speaker 3: and then we never saw him again and he had
- 49:24Speaker 3: a whole new family and he just moved on and
- 49:26Speaker 3: like had other kids. So it's like, I think the
- 49:29Speaker 3: fact that she didn't carry those children And it was
- 49:32Speaker 3: just so scary and icky. But I do believe she
- 49:35Speaker 3: had tried, and then because they were part of Scientology,
- 49:39Speaker 3: she was seen as a suppressive person, and they did
- 49:41Speaker 3: not see her. And I want to say there might
- 49:43Speaker 3: have been an article recently in the last couple years
- 49:46Speaker 3: where maybe she did meet with the daughter or something.
- 49:50Speaker 4: What do you think she wants at this point in time?
- 49:52Speaker 4: She's got her Oscar.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Like, I think she just is like, yeah, I don't
- 49:56Speaker 3: think she wants him anymore, especially if he's moved on
- 49:59Speaker 3: to somebody else.
- 50:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 50:00Speaker 3: And I think that she loves to work and like, yeah,
- 50:07Speaker 3: she's just going to keep wearing wigs and being a
- 50:11Speaker 3: rich character. A character who's a rich lady.
- 50:13Speaker 4: Doing limited series where somebody gets murdered.
- 50:16Speaker 3: Yeah. And just, and always rich and always wearing like
- 50:20Speaker 3: a really nice cashmere sweater and being cold and just, oh.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Loving it.
- 50:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:25Speaker 3: That's what we got for her. This is a story
- 50:29Speaker 3: that I'm always obsessed with. So Selena Gomez got married.
- 50:32Speaker 4: Uh-huh.
- 50:33Speaker 3: And she had a kidney donor many years ago named
- 50:37Speaker 3: Francia Reza. And at the time they were best friends.
- 50:39Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 50:41Speaker 3: And I years ago saw that she was on the
- 50:45Speaker 3: cover of magazine Selena Gomez saying, this is my best friend. Yeah.
- 50:48Speaker 3: And I went on Juicy Scoop and I was like,
- 50:50Speaker 3: what about the best friend that gave you the kidney?
- 50:52Speaker 3: I got all the Selena Gomez bots coming after me,
- 50:55Speaker 3: you know, and it did kind of keep me from
- 50:57Speaker 3: talking about it again, but now I don't care. And anyway,
- 51:01Speaker 3: Selena had her wedding. It was, you know, it wasn't
- 51:03Speaker 3: a 12 person wedding. It was a significant wedding. The
- 51:08Speaker 3: kidney donor was not invited. And she said something recently like,
- 51:13Speaker 3: you know, oh, I'm sure she's very happy that She's
- 51:16Speaker 3: a billionaire. She got married. She's fine. I'm happy I
- 51:19Speaker 3: could save her life.
- 51:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:21Speaker 3: Which, I mean, listen, I think it is a weird
- 51:27Speaker 3: position to be in when you get a kidney from
- 51:32Speaker 3: your best friend and then you don't. you're not in
- 51:35Speaker 3: touch and you don't really want her at your wedding.
- 51:38Speaker 3: And I think you didn't want her at your wedding
- 51:39Speaker 3: for a number of reasons. One, you haven't been that
- 51:41Speaker 3: good of a friend since you got the kidney. Two,
- 51:44Speaker 3: she one time made a statement that she didn't appreciate
- 51:47Speaker 3: Selena Gomez smoking with her kidney. And then third is,
- 51:52Speaker 3: She doesn't want to probably remind people at the wedding
- 51:54Speaker 3: that at one time she was sick enough that she
- 51:56Speaker 3: needed a kidney.
- 51:57Speaker 4: That aspect of Selena Gomez's story is really incredible and amazing.
- 52:01Speaker 4: That you had somebody having this ridiculously amazing career from
- 52:05Speaker 4: such an early age while going through this very severe
- 52:09Speaker 4: medical situation. The little girl from Modern Family also, like,
- 52:13Speaker 4: you know, it's like, how do you manage all of that?
- 52:18Speaker 4: It's pretty crazy.
- 52:19Speaker 3: And, like.
- 52:21Speaker 4: I understand life moving along. You know, it is hard.
- 52:26Speaker 4: But I have to imagine, like, look, if you're a
- 52:29Speaker 4: kidney donor girl, you know if you're ever in a
- 52:32Speaker 4: real scrape, you are allowed to call Selena Gomez and
- 52:35Speaker 4: ask her for a big favor. Because Selena Gomez cannot
- 52:39Speaker 4: have there be news articles about how she is ungrateful anymore.
- 52:43Speaker 4: To the girl who saved her life.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Do you think there was a big payment? Or there's payment, like,
- 52:49Speaker 3: on occasion?
- 52:51Speaker 4: I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was.
- 52:53Speaker 4: I wouldn't be surprised if there was. And, like, you're...
- 52:57Speaker 4: I don't know. You should always be grateful for something
- 53:01Speaker 4: like that. But I also understand life moving along.
- 53:04Speaker 3: I guess when you do these things, you go through, like,
- 53:06Speaker 3: a psychological testing.
- 53:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:08Speaker 3: Where they very much are like, you... don't have a
- 53:12Speaker 3: hold on this person for the rest of your life
- 53:15Speaker 3: or whatever. You know, that's why it's, you know, always
- 53:18Speaker 3: so beautiful when like, you know, someone's child unfortunately dies and,
- 53:23Speaker 3: and they donate their body parts. And then the mom
- 53:25Speaker 3: gets to like hug this other woman's son who has
- 53:29Speaker 3: the heart. That's different because your child has passed. This
- 53:33Speaker 3: is a very weird, I always remember George Lopez, his
- 53:36Speaker 3: wife of many years gave him the kidney and then
- 53:39Speaker 3: he divorced her.
- 53:40Speaker 4: I mean, That's way worse than not inviting her to
- 53:43Speaker 4: your wedding, you know?
- 53:44Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, short of my children, I
- 53:49Speaker 3: think it would be a very hard thing for me
- 53:51Speaker 3: to– I would have to really look at this and say,
- 53:57Speaker 3: there's a good chance I'm going to open my Instagram
- 53:59Speaker 3: and see you and my five best friends and my
- 54:02Speaker 3: kidney on a yacht and I wasn't invited. Right. I
- 54:05Speaker 3: would have to tell myself that. And then what if
- 54:08Speaker 3: somebody else needs my kidney? Too bad. I already gave
- 54:11Speaker 3: it to the girl on the yacht that didn't invite
- 54:13Speaker 3: me to her party. You have to think about these things.
- 54:19Speaker 4: It's real. Yes.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Like, yeah. Friendships don't last forever. But if I was Selena,
- 54:25Speaker 3: I know it's your biggest day. I would, I think
- 54:28Speaker 3: I would have extended the invitation and let her decline.
- 54:33Speaker 3: And then she could have said, I was invited. I
- 54:36Speaker 3: was out of town. Like sometimes you just want, I
- 54:39Speaker 3: always think about things of like, I have a saying,
- 54:43Speaker 3: you know, like what would Jesus do? I have one,
- 54:45Speaker 3: what would Kris Jenner do? And I believe Kris Jenner
- 54:48Speaker 3: wants to walk around this earth where if someone says
- 54:51Speaker 3: something like, oh, have you talked to Kris Jenner lately?
- 54:53Speaker 3: You could say, No, but last time I texted her,
- 54:55Speaker 3: she sent back three dancing lady emojis.
- 54:57Speaker 4: And a heart.
- 54:59Speaker 3: And you cannot say a bad thing. So it's like,
- 55:02Speaker 3: if I was her, I would have done it. And just,
- 55:05Speaker 3: if she came, she came. And if she didn't.
- 55:06Speaker 4: There are a lot of tables at a wedding, you know?
- 55:08Speaker 4: Just like, put her off at one of, put her
- 55:10Speaker 4: with cousins.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:13Speaker 3: And she's not like that recognizable. I know she was
- 55:15Speaker 3: an actress too, but it's not like she's that recognizable
- 55:17Speaker 3: a face like a Taylor Swift who like gave a
- 55:20Speaker 3: speech and stuff. So I don't know, but maybe there
- 55:23Speaker 3: was more history or it's just, I don't have to
- 55:27Speaker 3: invite her. I, I give her, you know, a million
- 55:30Speaker 3: dollars a year.
- 55:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:32Speaker 3: And that's our agreement. And she doesn't talk shit about me.
- 55:34Speaker 3: And she also doesn't come to my wedding and we'll
- 55:36Speaker 3: never know.
- 55:37Speaker 4: I mean, I hope that's the case.
- 55:38Speaker 3: I mean, then I think that'd be, I think that
- 55:40Speaker 3: she'd be like, good. I don't want to go to
- 55:41Speaker 3: your fucking wedding. Just don't have your payment late. Um, well,
- 55:45Speaker 3: this is very sad. So Denise Richards, as you know,
- 55:48Speaker 3: is divorcing her second husband, Aaron, and he is a
- 55:53Speaker 3: nightmare and a lot has come out. They were actually
- 55:56Speaker 3: in court because she got a temporary restraining order in
- 55:58Speaker 3: July and she is in court testifying to get a
- 56:02Speaker 3: permanent one, which would be for five years, from him
- 56:06Speaker 3: and she is claiming severe physical abuse. And his cousin
- 56:13Speaker 3: testified on her behalf saying that she did witness such things.
- 56:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 56:17Speaker 3: Where it's like, you know, hitting her in the head,
- 56:20Speaker 3: all these things. She was getting a, um, redoing her
- 56:24Speaker 3: breasts or whatever. And while she was recovering in the
- 56:27Speaker 3: hospital room, he got physical with her. Then there's, you know,
- 56:31Speaker 3: black eyes. There's many occasions like choking many occasions that
- 56:35Speaker 3: she's testifying to. He is saying it's all not true.
- 56:39Speaker 3: And that he's going to bring Brandy Glanville on and
- 56:43Speaker 3: Charlie Sheen to prove his point that she makes up
- 56:47Speaker 3: stories and lies because When he said while he was
- 56:50Speaker 3: walking to court, he goes, I walked into our laundry
- 56:53Speaker 3: room and saw Brandi Glanville and Denise Richards fooling around.
- 56:58Speaker 3: And on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Brandi said, we
- 57:03Speaker 3: had a rendezvous in Canada while she was filming a movie.
- 57:07Speaker 3: And she I thought they had an open marriage. And
- 57:10Speaker 3: she told me if Aaron ever found out, he'd kill me. Well,
- 57:13Speaker 3: that to me makes me believe Denise. And also, if
- 57:18Speaker 3: he saw them hooking up five years ago and he
- 57:21Speaker 3: was so angry and against it, why did he stay
- 57:24Speaker 3: married for another five years? Why didn't he like end
- 57:26Speaker 3: the marriage then? Because he depended on her financially. And
- 57:30Speaker 3: he was denied spousal support. He was asking for $ 150, 000
- 57:34Speaker 3: right now. He said, I need $ 150, 000 from our joint
- 57:37Speaker 3: accounts that she has cut him out of or whatever.
- 57:40Speaker 3: Maybe they weren't joint accounts.
- 57:41Speaker 4: And that money that she has is mostly from her
- 57:43Speaker 4: divorce from Charlie, right?
- 57:46Speaker 3: She's very successful OnlyFans and she does a lot of
- 57:49Speaker 3: TV and brand deals.
- 57:51Speaker 4: Okay. Okay.
- 57:52Speaker 3: And so, yeah. So he did not get the support.
- 57:55Speaker 3: I don't, as of yet, I don't know if the
- 57:58Speaker 3: judge has granted the permanent restraining order. I would think
- 58:01Speaker 3: that she would get it. She's trying to get him
- 58:04Speaker 3: and his family of his parents and his brother finally
- 58:07Speaker 3: moved out of her property or the one that she
- 58:10Speaker 3: was on the lease for. It is a nightmare. And
- 58:13Speaker 3: then Charlie Sheen, who when they got divorced in her
- 58:17Speaker 3: divorce papers, it was Yeah. And they even touch on it,
- 58:21Speaker 3: I think, though she was supportive in his doc about it.
- 58:25Speaker 3: So anyway, he was doing an interview with, who was
- 58:30Speaker 3: the guy from California? David Duchovny had some live show
- 58:35Speaker 3: and he was interviewing him, Charlie. And he goes, do
- 58:38Speaker 3: you have any regrets? And he's like, tattoos. I wish
- 58:43Speaker 3: I hadn't gotten all these tattoos. Not tattoos. You know,
- 58:48Speaker 3: who you were with or how you were as a
- 58:51Speaker 3: parent or a son or a co-star or who you
- 58:56Speaker 3: may have contracted HIV from or gave or whatever that
- 59:00Speaker 3: allegedly is. There's just tattoos.
- 59:03Speaker 4: I mean, he's a kook. Like, expecting him to have
- 59:07Speaker 4: any perspective on his own life is ridiculous. You know,
- 59:11Speaker 4: like Denise is a big personality. It's why she's so
- 59:16Speaker 4: good on the show. Like she's almost too honest for
- 59:20Speaker 4: a real housewife show. Like her not suffering of bullshit
- 59:24Speaker 4: is amazing. Like somebody like, being like withholding about information
- 59:33Speaker 4: about a same sex relationship that they had while they
- 59:35Speaker 4: were married to somebody else. We've all seen hunting wives,
- 59:38Speaker 4: you know, like that.
- 59:39Speaker 3: But I truly believe the only reason that she was
- 59:42Speaker 3: like that was because of him, because I think, you know,
- 59:47Speaker 3: she's a sex symbol and, you know, she was married
- 59:50Speaker 3: to Charlie Sheen. Like, I don't think it would have— I
- 59:54Speaker 3: really think she was terrified. I mean, there was a
- 59:56Speaker 3: scene where she's like, remember we're mic'd, and he goes,
- 59:58Speaker 3: I'm going to squeeze your hand so fucking hard. Like,
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: there's literally— and I think then she— I mean, she told me,
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: because I saw her, and she's so sweet, and she's
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: so grateful of all the support that she's gotten.
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: And she's like, I— my divorce from Charlie was so
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: awful that I was like, well, I'll never get divorced again.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: And that's another reason why she stayed. Also, it's so
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: embarrassing and You're stuck in this thing. And I just,
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: I just feel so badly for her. And he's like,
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: in my opinion, a grifter. Like he was, you know,
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: with Nicolette Sheridan before. At one point he was with
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: this famous soap actress from Young and Restless prior to
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Nicolette Sheridan or in between. He was just going up
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: and down, you know, Malibu looking for like rich women.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: He is the worst.
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: Yeah. No, I mean, that's terrible. And also once you
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: have opened up your life just by being Denise Richards
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: and then being on a Real Housewives show, you understand
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: that separating from somebody is going to involve all of
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: this stuff coming out. And people, you know, people in
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: comments are cruel and people feel so comfortable questioning fundamental things.
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: Like when you say he hit me.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, it's, it's, it's hard. So, um, Okay,
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: I just want to remind everybody, November 14th, I will
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: be at BravoCon weekend at the MGM Grand.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: So you need to go get your tickets. HeatherMcDonald.net. That's
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: also where you join Patreon. We're almost sold out.
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: Can I plug?
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: Yes. What do you got?
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: October 20th, I will be at Club Fugazi in San Francisco,
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: at the Throckmorton on the 21st in Mill Valley, and
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: then in Portland on the 23rd and Seattle at the
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: Hereafter on the 24th. All of that is on all
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: of my social links on all of my socials and
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: on GuyBrandom.com. It's me doing my solo.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: We're not done with my show yet.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: It's me doing my solo show. But I'm plugging. I'm plugging.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: We can plug in the middle. Okay, sorry. No, it's
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: all good. I just happen to have come, but I'm glad.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: I'm just letting people know. Don't turn us off because
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: we've got more to talk about. Real Housewives of Miami
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: star Alexia Napola's ex-husband Todd has filed a $ 10 million
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: defamation lawsuit against Bravo. He did a long 10-minute video
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: talking about to the camera like two months ago saying
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: how furious he was of how he was portrayed and
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: that he feels they portrayed him like he was going
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: broke when he wasn't just because he rented a luxury
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: apartment and didn't own it and there were narratives that
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: were untrue that the other cast members were saying and
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: therefore his reputation has been suffered to the tune of
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: 11 million dollars because it's like 10 million is for
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: one thing and 1 million is for another and What
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: do you think of a lawsuit like this?
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: It's really interesting because saying someone is bad at their
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: job is one of the like legally one of the
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: four things that is severe, like saying that they have
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: a venereal disease or saying that they have committed a
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: crime is one of the things that's I think called
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: slander per se. It makes it sort of like a
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: more severe kind of defamation. But the question of what
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: is opinion and what is a declaration of fact is
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: on a reality show is so weird because like if
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: a reality show shows you a person, um, saying a
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: fact about someone else, are they republishing what that person
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: is saying? Are they endorsing it? Or are they just
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: showing it to you as their opinion? Because you can't
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: sue someone for definite defamation about an opinion, but you
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: can sue them about an assertion of fact. And like,
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: it used to be when like only newspapers and stuff
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: were carrying stuff like this, they would be really cautious
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: about repeating something that was someone's assertion of a fact
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: about something like this. But like.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: As someone who watched every episode... I did not walk
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: away thinking Todd is a bad businessman. So I don't know.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: I think you'll have a hard time proving that his
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: business really suffered, but maybe he will say that. But
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: I didn't think that. I just thought he didn't like
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: being on camera, and that's why they got divorced, and
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: she was still in love with him. I thought he
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: seemed like a fine stepdad. I was just like, I
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: don't know. I don't think what's interesting is like the
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: no fan of Bravo is going to some suddenly have
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: sympathy for the ex-husband of a housewife because he's a man.
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: And also anything that could take Bravo away from us.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: We are not going to be for that lawsuit.
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: But the thing is, he's not going to win. I
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: think he'll probably he's hoping that they settle with him
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: just to avoid. the lawyer costs that it would take
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: to actually, you know, this will not go to trial.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: I don't think they will because the reality reckoning didn't
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: go anywhere. There hasn't been any settlement. There's another woman
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: suing for $ 20 million. There's several lawsuits against Bravo. And
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: I would think if they start to settle with one,
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: then they're settling with the other. So they have to, like,
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: stand high, like, you know, and be like, no, you
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: signed these releases. That's that.
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, well, and the interesting status– of the
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: like husbands is because you're like you are signing releases
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: but you're not getting paid for it your wife is
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: or whatever like it is interesting but they still sign
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: the releases.
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: Yeah yeah well anyway now they're divorced and some people
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: wonder will this hurt her chances of coming back yeah
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: do you think it will.
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: Do you think he's doing this i don't think so
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: but do you think it will hurt her chances of
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: coming back could he be doing this just as a
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: revenge thing against.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: Her I mean, that would really suck. I wonder if
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: she could then sue him for that, but like that
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: would really suck if they just want to get rid
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: of her so that no one's reminded of this and
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: that no one's, slipping because how how what are you
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: supposed to do then go on set and just know
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: and her whole life is like this horrible thing that's
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: happening with her ex-husband and people are not supposed to
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: mention it but you're supposed to be a girlfriend in
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: a real life scene like of course you're gonna be
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: like oh my god Todd's a dick like he's the worst.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: And the lawyers would be telling them like well you
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: can't talk about him while this thing is going on
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: yeah he's like it's always interesting to me when you
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: have ex-husbands who are like exerting control over what can
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: be shown or how much can be shown like when
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: you have.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: Yeah. And she, she, yeah, she said that she goes,
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: you know, it was so, he was just awful all
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: the time. Like before the last reunion, um, you know, she, right, right.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: As she was about to like walk on, he was like,
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: you know, hadn't talked to her for two days, putting
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: her in a word in an awful state, being totally
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: unsupportive of it. I mean, that's really awful too. Like
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: it's stressful enough that you have to go and fight
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: and like do all this awful stuff. And then to
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: just also have your husband, like you better not say
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: this or that, or they better not say this about me.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: And you're just like, I mean, talk about the ultimate
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: of walking on eggshells. Like what a nightmare. Um, also Netflix,
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: there's a $ 15 million lawsuit from the, um, for the movie, uh,
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: inventing Anna, the, girl that was basically based on her story,
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: who was the friend who got stuck with the $ 70, 000
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: credit card bill when they went to Morocco.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: She is suing saying you use my name, my likeness
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: and everything. And I don't like the way I was
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: portrayed because you portrayed me as like greedy and which
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: isn't true. And so she's suing now, how does that work?
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: I mean, like it's, I don't think she has much
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: of a case. Like basically you're there saying it's false light.
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: So she's not actively saying that like there was any
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: clear defamation. Like false light just means you, you represented
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: me as being not like I am. Even though there
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: was nothing directly false. And it's like, this is true events.
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: Like I, they're pretty open about the fact that it
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: is inspired by true events and not a, direct sort
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: of attempt at like documentary reconstruction of what happens. It
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: seems really hard. I mean, it must be hard to
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: see people making money off of something that you're involved
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: in that you didn't make money off of.
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: But also you were in newsworthy events, you know?
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: Right, exactly. Like, I mean, there's a movie out right
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: now called Swiped, which is about the owner and creator
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: of Bumble. Uh-huh. And she didn't have anything to do
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: with that movie.
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: And I mean, it's fine. I mean, I think I
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: have to watch it, but I mean, I think she
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: comes off really great. It's her story, but the story
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: was out there just like.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: Some could do three. Mark Zuckerberg didn't make any money
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: off of the social network.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: People could do three stories, three versions of Long Island Lolita.
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: You know what I mean? And three different people played her.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: I mean, that's just, people are going to be, there's
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: going to be multiple movies about Karen Reed that she
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: might not have a dollar from. So, I mean, I
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: think that's what it, but you know what I want
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: to ask you? this. So this movie came out, you know,
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: two years ago. Why does it take like two years
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: to then do the lawsuit? Are you shopping around for lawyers?
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: Does it take that long to get it together? Or
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: is it like after a year and a half, you're like,
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: you know what? That's still pissing me off. I am
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: going to sue.
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: I think it's some degree of that, but it also
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: is just the statute of limitations tolling. So within two
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: to three years, the statute of limitations would toll where
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: if you did not.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: But why not jump on it two years ago then
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: when it was like hot and in the news?
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: She probably didn't get pissed off for a while, I
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: would have to imagine. And I also think like finding
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: lawyers and like, I mean, were they trying to sort
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: of like back channel for some money before this? I
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: don't know.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: Oh, asking for money and then they didn't give the
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: money and then they have to.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: Yes. But I mean, it's not as though she's like,
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: that directly aggrieved by you know it was like oh
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: they made me seem not great you know okay um
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: no first we have to talk about my legal issue.
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: What oh yes let's talk about your legal.
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: Because it is a juicy scoop angle this all just
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: comes down to uh i got on like normally i
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: fly business class but um you know i have there
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: haven't been as many tv jobs and this summer i
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: wanted to do like three things in a row and
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: i was like i can do one of these things
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: if i fly business class or i can like fly
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: comfort plus and do all of them and i went
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: to my friend tori's wedding and as i was flying
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: back it was a full flight and i had been
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: placed in a middle seat usually i try to get
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: um uh a window seat because i'm a big guy
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: and i'm trying to stay out of people's way um
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: but i was in a middle seat and there was
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: like an old guy who came down and like first
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: he like hit a woman's hand because she was placing
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: a bag in the overhead compartment near where he was
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: going to sit. And he had decided that that was
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: his territory and she wasn't allowed to do that. So
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: they had like a full altercation beforehand. And then he
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: sat down and he was like, could you scoot over?
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: And I was like, I can't, you know, I was there.
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: I was in between the two armrests. I had buckled
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: my seatbelt without a belt extender. I was fine. And
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: he was like, can you scoot over? And I was like,
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: actually I can't. And then, He just leaned over and
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: elbowed me as hard as he could. And I told
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: the flight attendants and he got mad and he was
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: a million miler. And so he, I believe, was texting
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: someone from Delta and then a Delta customer service agent
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: showed up and they started evaluating the situation as, oh,
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: this person has to sit next to a fat person
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: And in no way, like they pulled him aside and
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: they talked to him, but they in no way were like,
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: so someone hit you, what happened? And when the, all
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: they did was because I had taken a video of it,
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: I posted it on Instagram, but all that the official
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: Delta representative did was ask me if I would delete
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: the video. And like at that moment, the people around me,
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: like there were a gay couple behind me and like
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: a woman across the aisle who just sort of like
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: popped up and were like, no, that guy hit him.
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: he hit another woman. He is the problem. And like,
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: they just moved him to the other side of the
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: aisle and had him switch and like, uh, gave a
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: woman miles because she had to sit next to me.
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: She was very, very lovely because I was, you know,
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: crying into my eye mask, just sort of like humiliated
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: and uncomfortable with the whole situation. But, uh, like after,
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: like later one of the flight attendants came up and
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: like showed me a message on their phone that was like,
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: we asked to have this guy removed from the flight
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: and we told her that he had hit you and
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: he was the problem. And she overruled us. And as
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: I was leaving that member of the flight crew was like,
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: you have to talk about this next time you're on
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: Juicy Scoop. And the two things that like.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: Shout out to the flight attendant from Delta. That's a
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: Juicy Scooper.
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: Like the two things were like, after I like pulled
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: my eye mask off and realizing... of the people who
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: had like hopped up to defend me, like of the six,
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: four of them were watching The Devil Wears Prada. And
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: having a person say like, I am a juicy scooper.
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: I was here for you. It was just a moment
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: of realizing like women and queer people and people who
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: didn't always have full access to our voices. So many
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: cultural things have reminded us that we do have the
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: right to push back and, you know, not be hit.
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: And it is very frustrating to me that so much
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: of the discourse around this is like, oh, that guy's
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: too fat. He needs to buy two seats. The thing is,
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: a lot of people don't realize that if you buy
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: two seats on a full flight, they'll still just give
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: it away. Like, there's not a good system for handling
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: fat people on flights. And just having it be waiting
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: until somebody decides to point at me and call me
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: fat to try to deal with it is not good.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: But also, you shouldn't fucking hit people, you know?
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: That's just beyond shocking. Like, I just am like, wow.
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: Yeah. Like, what.
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: People are losing their minds. Suck it up. Travel is
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: hard for everybody. And yeah, babies cry.
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: And I mean, love to the moms that are like,
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: I make treats for everybody to say, no, just fucking
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: deal with it.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: Bring your earplugs, bring your eye mask, whatever it is.
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: But that's life. It's disgusting.
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: I mean, he was... I think he had had a
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: couple of drinks and he was a million miler who
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: I believe was pissed off that he had not gotten
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: upgraded further than Comfort Plus. And like, sure. But like
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: he walked in there ready to be in a fight.
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: Yeah. And it was just really upsetting that, you know,
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: like once I landed in L.A. and reported it to
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: the gate agent, the Delta people were like, they were
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: supposed to just get the police there. Why did they
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: not get the police there? And, you know, it was
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: really frustrating. Wow.
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: Well, I'm glad that you shared your story. Anything you
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: want to say about Real Housewives of Salt Lake? Because
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: that was on last night and I made you watch.
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: So I've just been starting season one and like, I
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: worried that Meredith was queen. Like, she seemed to not
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: be in the episode that much. She like, did her
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: own thing with her caviar place, and then was in
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: a conversation at the end. And I was happy when
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: I saw the conversation at the end because I was
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: worried that she was trying to queen bee and be
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: above the fray. And is that an issue and a
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: problem or no? Does Meredith still do her job?
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Meredith is great. She just hasn't been featured
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: as much because it's all about Lisa Barlow and her businesses.
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: I mean, Lisa is an icon. That show is such
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: a forum for cowboy hats and turtlenecks thrills me.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: Really. And they all are great looking. But listen, Bravo
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: Snarkside actually screen grabbed the text that went between Lisa
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: Barlow and Angie. And Lisa Barlow went after Angie because
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: Angie has many salons, three which she owns and the
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: other seven she has franchised out. And Lisa Barlow was somehow, like,
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: trying to pinpoint whatever. They're all pointing fingers at each
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: other as being, like, not as rich and not having
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: as many businesses. And so then she's like, I supported your,
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: you know, your son's haircut. whatever gel. And it's in my,
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: it's in my salons, but no one's buying it.
- 1:16:55Speaker 4: It's a C-list product.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: So then an assistant comes to go pick it up
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: and she goes, this is a C-list product. And then
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: they start going back on the text messages where then
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: Lisa texted her and said, 600 Venmo sent. I can
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: send my cleaners to help you too. Because she said
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: it's their collecting dust. And then Angie said, you should
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: probably have sent the $ 600 to other people that are
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: claiming that you owe them money. I didn't say you
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: owed me any money and my salon is not dusty.
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: And then Lisa said, well, at least I don't have
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: to borrow money to take vacation. Wait, let me do
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: it Lisa's way. Well, at least I don't have to
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: borrow money to take vacations and pay it back. After
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: using a card, I should have been, wait, I should
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: have been up something, but it got cut off. But
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: then I'm sure Angie went back and was like, isn't
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: someone accusing you of owing money on an Amherst card?
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: It went back and forth. And it's like, it's pretty fun.
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: It's snarky, but it's kind of like, yeah.
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: I mean, it's like mutually assured destruction. I'm like, wouldn't
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: it benefit these ladies not to do these things? But
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: I guess that's what the show is. I have a question, though.
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: The woman who was married to the coach, the party planner,
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: is she still on the show?
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: She's in jail.
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: Oh, no, I didn't realize.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: Jen Shaw. Interesting that you asked that. Jen Shah, this
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: is from Sutton Stroller. Catherine Dennis is from Southern Charm.
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: She's been off the show for a long time. She
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: struggled with drugs and alcohol. She just got a DUI,
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: so she has 25 days in prison. Jen Shah has
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: 326 days left. What is she in jail for? Oh,
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: stealing money from old people and doing a whole scheme
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: where they would trick elderly people into thinking that they
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: could have a viable business. Oh, wow. And then telling
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: them they needed more and more and more money and
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: then keeping all that money for herself.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: Amazing.
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: She's with One Drop Girl, Elizabeth Holmes. They're in prison
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: together hanging out. out. But I just heard from a
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: very good source that she could be getting out extremely soon. Okay.
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: And I'm sure that she will be asked right back
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: to be on The Housewives.
- 1:19:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: Peter Thompson has 410 days left. He was the husband
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: of Cynthia Bailey on Real Housewives of Atlanta. And then
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: Tom Girardi has 2,566 days left.
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: To the extent that there's still a Tom there.
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, my God. Well, this has been so fun. Again,
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: let's remind everybody to follow Guy Branum. He is really
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: becoming a TikTok and Instagram sensation. He has his great
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: show with many dates and they can go get that again.
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: Yes, GuyBranum.com or at Guy Branum on Instagram and at
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: Guy Branum Comedy on TikTok.
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: Yeah, all the info is there. And what a delight.
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: And thank you for sharing your awful airline personal story
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: with us and giving all your insights.
