Latest / Outspoken the Podcast / Laura Henshaw's Spilt Milk Fart
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: Kate Torber and coming up on today's show, Lauren Bullen's
- 0:12Speaker 1: road rage drama, Veruca Salt accuses her new husband of cheating,
- 0:17Speaker 1: Laura Henshaw's fart clip goes viral, and G Bungalow's t-shirt drama.
- 0:23Speaker 1: But first, on Tuesday we discussed Matt Paul's engagement and
- 0:27Speaker 1: noted that Tammy Hembrough was not among the well-wishers. Well,
- 0:31Speaker 1: it seems like she was a late well-wisher because she
- 0:33Speaker 1: actually did end up liking and commenting on the post
- 0:36Speaker 1: after we prepared our podcast on Tuesday. So she wrote,
- 0:40Speaker 1: so happy for you two, which received over a thousand likes.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I wonder if Tammy felt the pressure to comment because
- 0:46Speaker 1: Matt Zukowski, her ex, he initially commented pretty early on
- 0:50Speaker 1: this post, sending his congratulations to the couple. Yeah, I
- 0:53Speaker 1: think after that, there was no way she couldn't write anything.
- 0:56Speaker 1: So I'm going to talk you guys through my favorite
- 0:58Speaker 1: lit combo. Lauren Bullen has been forced to publicly defend
- 1:02Speaker 1: herself following a road rage incident in Bali. The OG
- 1:06Speaker 1: travel influencer better known by her handle Gypsy Lust was
- 1:10Speaker 1: involved in an altercation with a local man after she
- 1:13Speaker 1: accidentally drove down a one-way street on the Indonesian island.
- 1:17Speaker 1: The driver was left so disgruntled from the exchange, he
- 1:19Speaker 1: went public with the story on his own social media channels.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Things have gotten very personal. So the other driver involved
- 1:27Speaker 1: in the incident goes by the Instagram handle Moscow Kabang Bali,
- 1:31Speaker 1: and he shared vision he filmed of Lauren during the dispute,
- 1:34Speaker 1: as well as a photo of her in her car. Now,
- 1:37Speaker 1: the vision has since been deleted, but the photo remains
- 1:41Speaker 1: on his Instagram. And he captioned the post, this morning
- 1:44Speaker 1: in Bali, I had a frustrating experience with a foreign
- 1:47Speaker 1: driver who stopped and acted like she didn't know this
- 1:49Speaker 1: was a one-way road. When I told her it was
- 1:51Speaker 1: a one-way, she responded rudely instead of apologizing or moving.
- 1:55Speaker 1: It's really disappointing to see visitors ignore local traffic rules
- 1:58Speaker 1: and show no respect to the people who live here.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I hope more tourists learn to follow local regulations and
- 2:03Speaker 1: treat others with basic courtesy. Well, he's incorrect there because
- 2:06Speaker 1: Lauren actually lives in Bali. She is a travel vlogger,
- 2:09Speaker 1: but her home base is Bali. Yeah, he was obviously
- 2:12Speaker 1: making a lot of assumptions, but it didn't take long
- 2:14Speaker 1: for him to realize who she actually was and that
- 2:17Speaker 1: she has a very large following because he ended up
- 2:19Speaker 1: posting multiple posts directed at her alongside a bunch of
- 2:23Speaker 1: unsubstantiated accusations to do with Lauren's Airbnb in Bali. Now,
- 2:28Speaker 1: we won't be going into those claims as they are
- 2:29Speaker 1: unverified and Lauren has labeled them false. It was these accusations, though,
- 2:34Speaker 1: that appear to have pushed Lauren to publicly respond. Yeah,
- 2:37Speaker 1: so earlier this week, she shared a screenshot of a
- 2:39Speaker 1: statement she prepared about the incident on her notes app.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And in it, she explained that she had been driving
- 2:45Speaker 1: home from breakfast with her family when she accidentally entered
- 2:48Speaker 1: the one-way street. So she said she was immediately confronted
- 2:51Speaker 1: by an angry driver in his car, and she said
- 2:53Speaker 1: he verbally abused her. She then said she pulled into
- 2:56Speaker 1: a driveway so the driver could get through, but he
- 2:59Speaker 1: stopped to yell more at her. This all sounds so awkward.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And as someone who is a bit of an angry driver,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I can kind of see how this would escalate pretty quickly. Now,
- 3:09Speaker 1: Lauren said she didn't realize she had illegally entered the road,
- 3:12Speaker 1: so asked what the guy's problem was. Now, a big
- 3:14Speaker 1: commotion followed, so much so that residents actually came out
- 3:17Speaker 1: of their houses to see what was going on. Lauren
- 3:20Speaker 1: said at this point, the man was causing a traffic jam,
- 3:23Speaker 1: so was asked to move along. While this was all
- 3:26Speaker 1: going on, the man then grabs out his phone, starts
- 3:28Speaker 1: filming Lauren. She felt like she was being antagonized, so
- 3:32Speaker 1: bit back and said, well, why don't you repeat what
- 3:34Speaker 1: you called me a little bit earlier? Apparently he was
- 3:36Speaker 1: quite abusive to her. Lauren said she ended up driving
- 3:39Speaker 1: off after the incident, shaking, and was still unaware that
- 3:42Speaker 1: she had driven down a one-way street. Then, later that day,
- 3:46Speaker 1: she opened up Instagram to find that the man had
- 3:49Speaker 1: shared vision of her alongside what she called false claims
- 3:51Speaker 1: and misinformation. She wrote, since then, I have attempted to
- 3:54Speaker 1: resolve this privately through mutual contacts, but it has become
- 3:57Speaker 1: clear that this person is more interested in in online
- 4:00Speaker 1: attention than addressing the situation maturely and directly. Well, I
- 4:04Speaker 1: agree with Lauren. It sounds like he's trying to get
- 4:06Speaker 1: some attention online. He's clearly clocked who she is and thought, wow,
- 4:09Speaker 1: this is a great way to gain some kind of following. Yeah, well,
- 4:11Speaker 1: I had a look at his Instagram. He's got around
- 4:14Speaker 1: 5,000 followers and shares a lot of content. So I
- 4:16Speaker 1: think he is someone that is hoping to gain a
- 4:18Speaker 1: bit of traction off the back of this. It's clearly
- 4:21Speaker 1: rattled Lauren because on Saturday, she took herself down to
- 4:24Speaker 1: the police station to basically hand herself in And I
- 4:28Speaker 1: think it was to show her audience that she's taking
- 4:31Speaker 1: responsibility for her actions and basically to shut this guy
- 4:34Speaker 1: up because she ended up paying the fine for going
- 4:37Speaker 1: down a one-way street. She also apologized to anyone who
- 4:41Speaker 1: had been affected or drawn into the situation, writing, I
- 4:44Speaker 1: am sincerely sorry to anyone who has been affected or
- 4:46Speaker 1: drawn into this situation, including the man who is so
- 4:49Speaker 1: aggressively upset by this. I asked for his forgiveness and
- 4:52Speaker 1: I already forgive him for posting all these horrible things
- 4:54Speaker 1: about me that are not true. I will be more
- 4:57Speaker 1: attentive to road signs in the future. I am a
- 4:59Speaker 1: lawful and respectful resident of this island. Have you guys
- 5:02Speaker 1: had time to digest the news? It appears Veruca Salt
- 5:07Speaker 1: and her new husband have kissed and made up following
- 5:09Speaker 1: their recent public spat. The Aussie TikToker shocked her followers
- 5:13Speaker 1: earlier this month when she announced she married a man
- 5:16Speaker 1: in Vegas she'd only known for two weeks. On Monday,
- 5:19Speaker 1: it seemed like the relationship was over as quickly as
- 5:22Speaker 1: it began and when the new Mr Salt revealed his
- 5:24Speaker 1: wife had already blocked him on social media. Yeah, so
- 5:28Speaker 1: the man, the myth, the legend, known only as his
- 5:30Speaker 1: Instagram handle, Digi Premium, wrote, I mean, this sounds like
- 5:33Speaker 1: such a healthy marriage. I mean, just blocking one another
- 5:36Speaker 1: within the first couple of weeks of knowing one another. Yeah,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I mean, it's officially been one month since they got married.
- 5:53Speaker 1: The honeymoon is clearly over. Yes, exactly. Now, a lot
- 5:56Speaker 1: of her followers ended up asking her, well, what is
- 5:58Speaker 1: going on? And she wrote, he annoying me. She then
- 6:02Speaker 1: provided a further update on Tuesday night in a series
- 6:05Speaker 1: of Instagram stories that were swiftly deleted. So she wrote,
- 6:08Speaker 1: Digi Premium is missing. Please let me know if you
- 6:11Speaker 1: see him. Last known location, another bitch's house. She followed
- 6:15Speaker 1: it up by sharing... Another story that said, Digi Premium
- 6:19Speaker 1: can be friends with girls and sneak off to their houses,
- 6:21Speaker 1: but I can't go to the bar at a concert
- 6:23Speaker 1: without being accused of sucking dick in the bathroom. She
- 6:27Speaker 1: then finished up with a third slide writing, yeah, we
- 6:30Speaker 1: married lol, but he only responds to social media apparently. Well, Kate,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I'm just shocked. Who would have thought that this would
- 6:36Speaker 1: be the case just a few weeks after their marriage?
- 6:38Speaker 1: I mean, are they just doing this for engagement? I mean,
- 6:41Speaker 1: love really is dead. I mean, How could you possibly
- 6:44Speaker 1: do this to a person that you've only known for
- 6:46Speaker 1: a couple of weeks that you've married? Look, I questioned
- 6:49Speaker 1: last week if this was all for content, but those
- 6:52Speaker 1: stories are just embarrassing, particularly the fact that she deleted
- 6:54Speaker 1: them so swiftly. I think a lot is going down
- 6:57Speaker 1: behind the scenes. And I mean, I feel for Veruca
- 7:00Speaker 1: because she has had a very challenging last couple of
- 7:03Speaker 1: years and it's clear that maybe she's not in the
- 7:06Speaker 1: right headspace at the moment. Well, do you think Veruca
- 7:08Speaker 1: might be wanting to move to the US so she
- 7:10Speaker 1: can become part of the TikTok creator fund? Because The
- 7:13Speaker 1: fact that these videos are receiving millions of views, I mean,
- 7:16Speaker 1: if she was part of that fund, she would have
- 7:18Speaker 1: made a lot of money on them. I mean, it's
- 7:19Speaker 1: definitely advantageous for her influencer career, but I genuinely don't
- 7:24Speaker 1: think she's thinking through any of these decisions because by Thursday,
- 7:28Speaker 1: things apparently were back to normal. So Veruca shared a
- 7:31Speaker 1: compilation video on TikTok to the song Wish You Were Here. Now,
- 7:34Speaker 1: the video started off with vision of Veruca on her own,
- 7:37Speaker 1: which coincided with the lyric, and I never minded being
- 7:40Speaker 1: on my own. Now, it then took a really sad
- 7:43Speaker 1: turn when she added vision from her son's funeral alongside
- 7:47Speaker 1: the lyrics, then something broke in me. The video then
- 7:50Speaker 1: transitions to clips of Veruca looking happy, kissing her new
- 7:53Speaker 1: husband on a ferry with the lyrics, and I wanted
- 7:56Speaker 1: to go home to be where you are. And this
- 7:59Speaker 1: video obviously created a lot of confusion. Veruca's followers were like,
- 8:02Speaker 1: have you unblocked your husband? To which Veruca responded, not yet.
- 8:06Speaker 1: He's still annoying. Well, she's obviously going through a lot.
- 8:09Speaker 1: It is quite sad. I mean, I just find it
- 8:11Speaker 1: amusing though, that this husband, he probably thinks all of
- 8:14Speaker 1: his Christmases has come at once and he's going to
- 8:16Speaker 1: gain some huge following, but we've seen that that doesn't
- 8:19Speaker 1: necessarily happen. Like take Matt Zukowski and Tammy Hembrough. Matt
- 8:23Speaker 1: hardly gained any new followers. If anything, he had more
- 8:26Speaker 1: people disliking him after he married Tammy Hembrough. So I
- 8:30Speaker 1: don't think this is going to turn out that well
- 8:32Speaker 1: for Digi. Let's get into our Friday influencer dump. And
- 8:36Speaker 1: I'm going to kick things off with probably one of
- 8:38Speaker 1: the best things I've seen an influencer share for a
- 8:41Speaker 1: long time. So Laura Henshaw has jumped on the baby
- 8:45Speaker 1: test trend. So for those who haven't seen it, it's
- 8:48Speaker 1: basically where a woman cuddles up to her partner and
- 8:52Speaker 1: then spits up milk on them to kind of determine
- 8:54Speaker 1: whether they're ready to have a baby. Now, Laura took
- 8:58Speaker 1: it accidentally to the next level by farting before she
- 9:03Speaker 1: spilled the milk. And Dalton's reaction was, was absolutely priceless.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Let's throw to a bit of the clip. What are
- 9:10Speaker 1: you doing? Why are you farting? What? Laura, did you
- 9:30Speaker 1: just fart and burst milk on me? Are you fucking serious?
- 9:34Speaker 1: On the couch? What? Why are my clothes? What the fuck?
- 9:48Speaker 1: It's a test to see if you're ready to have
- 9:51Speaker 1: a baby yet. Now this video has gone completely viral.
- 9:57Speaker 1: On Instagram, it's got 799,000 views and on TikTok, it's
- 9:58Speaker 1: got 176. I was expecting a lot of mean comments,
- 10:09Speaker 1: but the majority are just like, this is the funniest
- 10:11Speaker 1: thing I have ever seen. And I am so grateful
- 10:14Speaker 1: that Laura shared this. Apparently Steph Glessmith had to twist
- 10:17Speaker 1: her arm to get it over the line. Yeah, because
- 10:19Speaker 1: I mean, it was really embarrassing for Laura because obviously,
- 10:23Speaker 1: as you said, she farted on Dalton. I mean, that's
- 10:26Speaker 1: even more of a test to see if someone's ready
- 10:27Speaker 1: to be a father. The fact that they'll put up
- 10:29Speaker 1: with someone farting on them. But it's because she just
- 10:32Speaker 1: owned it. Like she didn't even apologize for farting on him.
- 10:35Speaker 1: She just laughed it off. I mean, this wasn't a
- 10:37Speaker 1: small fart either. In the clip, you could tell she
- 10:39Speaker 1: was trying to hold back a laugh. And a lot
- 10:42Speaker 1: of people in the comments said it sounded like her
- 10:45Speaker 1: laugh came out of her bottom. Ugh. Well, the reason
- 10:47Speaker 1: I think this has gone so viral is because every
- 10:49Speaker 1: pregnant woman can relate to this. Yeah, I felt for
- 10:52Speaker 1: her because I'm like, there's a stage of very late
- 10:54Speaker 1: pregnancy where you can't hold in your bath. Like this
- 10:57Speaker 1: was bound to happen. What did you think about Dalton's reaction?
- 11:00Speaker 1: Because obviously this whole thing is a test to see
- 11:03Speaker 1: how they're going to deal with a baby spitting up
- 11:04Speaker 1: on him. Did he pass? Well, I think Dalton's going
- 11:06Speaker 1: to be in for a bit of a shock in
- 11:08Speaker 1: December when they have their baby because he didn't react
- 11:11Speaker 1: very well. I did feel a bit sorry for him though,
- 11:13Speaker 1: because Laura has spoken out about how he doesn't really
- 11:16Speaker 1: like being included in her videos. You could tell he
- 11:19Speaker 1: was a bit awkward being filmed. Yeah. I think a
- 11:21Speaker 1: dirty t-shirt is going to be the least of his
- 11:23Speaker 1: problems come December. I was pretty impressed at how high
- 11:26Speaker 1: pitched he actually got. This whole thing shook him up
- 11:30Speaker 1: quite a lot. I mean, At the end of the video,
- 11:32Speaker 1: he called Laura a lazy shit and said she could
- 11:35Speaker 1: clean it off, which I was like, geez, you better
- 11:37Speaker 1: be careful speaking to a pregnant woman like that. Like
- 11:39Speaker 1: if that had been me, I would have gone absolutely off.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I probably would have cut that bit out of the
- 11:43Speaker 1: video if it was me. Yeah, well, Laura said she
- 11:45Speaker 1: had just wet her pants at that stage. So maybe
- 11:48Speaker 1: she had bigger problems to deal with. I'm really interested
- 11:50Speaker 1: to see how much Laura and Dalton share about their
- 11:53Speaker 1: new baby online because in a recent KickPod episode, Laura
- 11:57Speaker 1: and Steph were discussing their children's privacy and And obviously
- 12:00Speaker 1: in recent times, Steph has made the decision not to
- 12:03Speaker 1: share her children's faces online, but Laura was talking about
- 12:06Speaker 1: how she and Dalton are quite undecided on the issue. Well,
- 12:09Speaker 1: reading between the lines, it seemed like Dalton didn't want to,
- 12:11Speaker 1: but Laura potentially may be open to sharing the baby's
- 12:14Speaker 1: face in the first couple of weeks. Cause she's like,
- 12:16Speaker 1: I don't think they're very identifiable. You know, they all
- 12:20Speaker 1: look the same. And it was interesting because Steph basically
- 12:23Speaker 1: said that that's what she wanted to do with her daughter, Billy,
- 12:26Speaker 1: but she knew the backlash was just going to be
- 12:28Speaker 1: too intense if she did, because Ever since she stopped
- 12:31Speaker 1: sharing Harvey's face, she's been copying it and people get
- 12:34Speaker 1: funny about how much of his face she covers and
- 12:36Speaker 1: whether she shows his side profile. Now, this next story
- 12:40Speaker 1: had me rushing to my kitchen to double check my
- 12:42Speaker 1: dishwashing tablets because former Love Islander Tina Provis shared she
- 12:47Speaker 1: has accidentally been using laundry pods in her dishwasher. Now,
- 12:52Speaker 1: she only realized the error when her dad was house sitting.
- 12:55Speaker 1: So she went away for a couple of weeks. And
- 12:58Speaker 1: her dad messaged her saying, oh, I bought some new
- 13:00Speaker 1: dishwashing tablets. And she was like, hang on, I only
- 13:02Speaker 1: just bought a new packet. And he's like, no, they
- 13:05Speaker 1: were laundry tablets. Let's take a listen to what she said.
- 13:08Speaker 1: It makes so much sense because my dishes and my
- 13:11Speaker 1: glasses have been tasting so soapy. I'm using clothes soap
- 13:19Speaker 1: on my dishes. Sophie actually did this a couple of
- 13:23Speaker 1: years ago. Can you remember? I actually don't remember, but
- 13:25Speaker 1: it doesn't surprise me. Yeah, I remember the absolute panic
- 13:28Speaker 1: because I think like Tina, they had been using them
- 13:31Speaker 1: for a while. I did some research. Luckily, it's very
- 13:35Speaker 1: unlikely to cause serious harm if you get onto it quickly.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Like if you're washing them heaps and heaps. Yeah, because
- 13:40Speaker 1: the laundry pods have bleach in them because that wouldn't
- 13:43Speaker 1: be good to be eating and drinking from. Yeah, some
- 13:45Speaker 1: have bleaching agents. And they also aren't food safe. They
- 13:49Speaker 1: have different fragrances and types of chemicals that you don't
- 13:52Speaker 1: really want on your plates. Kris Jenner has celebrated her
- 13:56Speaker 1: 70th birthday with a star-studded event held at Jeff Bezos
- 14:00Speaker 1: and Lauren Sanchez's Beverly Hill Mansion. Now, the guest list
- 14:03Speaker 1: included the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Justin and
- 14:07Speaker 1: Hailey Bieber, as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Now, Kate,
- 14:11Speaker 1: what's got a lot of people talking is the mystery
- 14:14Speaker 1: of the disappearing photos. So Following the party, as you do,
- 14:17Speaker 1: Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner both uploaded a collection of photos,
- 14:21Speaker 1: which included snaps alongside Harry and Meghan. A few hours later, though,
- 14:25Speaker 1: the pics of Harry and Meghan were deleted. I actually
- 14:28Speaker 1: saw these live on the Kardashians pages before they got deleted.
- 14:32Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, isn't it bizarre seeing them
- 14:34Speaker 1: hanging out with them? Yeah, I've seen a lot of
- 14:36Speaker 1: speculation as to why they have been removed. Gossip site
- 14:39Speaker 1: Dumois are speculating that it may have been because Meghan
- 14:43Speaker 1: was not wearing a Remembrance Day poppy. So Harry was
- 14:46Speaker 1: pictured with one pinned to his jacket, but Meghan didn't
- 14:49Speaker 1: have one. Well, it kind of makes sense because why
- 14:51Speaker 1: else would they be removed? I saw a lot of
- 14:53Speaker 1: people saying, oh, even the Kardashians are embarrassed to be
- 14:55Speaker 1: seen with Harry and Meghan. I'm like, oh. F off.
- 14:58Speaker 1: It's obvious that Harry and Meghan asked to be removed
- 15:01Speaker 1: from the photos. It's not like the Kardashians were like, oh, delete.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I don't want to be seen with them. Everything Harry
- 15:06Speaker 1: and Meghan do is so highly scrutinized that, you know,
- 15:09Speaker 1: it does make sense. that she probably would have been
- 15:11Speaker 1: dragged in the UK media if she hadn't been wearing
- 15:14Speaker 1: a poppy. The only other thing is, though, that there
- 15:16Speaker 1: were a lot of paparazzi shots of them arriving at
- 15:19Speaker 1: the party where Meghan was seen without the poppy. So
- 15:22Speaker 1: I don't know. Could that be the reason or is
- 15:24Speaker 1: it something else? Do Harry and Meghan, for branding purposes,
- 15:27Speaker 1: do they not want to be photographed alongside them? Did
- 15:29Speaker 1: they not like the photos of themselves? Well, I don't
- 15:32Speaker 1: think that they would attend the event if they didn't
- 15:34Speaker 1: want to be seen with the Kardashians. It was Kris's 70th.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Side note. How incredible does she look? I mean, I
- 15:40Speaker 1: know a lot has been said about the surgery that
- 15:43Speaker 1: she's had, but I was like, oh my God, like
- 15:46Speaker 1: how is she 70? It's crazy. She looks incredible. But
- 15:49Speaker 1: the funny thing about her Instagram is every photo is
- 15:53Speaker 1: so Photoshopped. Like they almost look like AI pictures because
- 15:58Speaker 1: There are never just candid shots. You can tell that
- 16:01Speaker 1: somebody has gone and just edited them to an inch
- 16:03Speaker 1: of their life. Yeah. Well, going back to Megan, she
- 16:06Speaker 1: recently announced that she is releasing a special Christmas series
- 16:11Speaker 1: of With Love, Megan. The show will drop on the
- 16:14Speaker 1: 3rd of December and has been described as a magical
- 16:17Speaker 1: holiday celebration. I know a lot of our listeners aren't
- 16:20Speaker 1: fans of the show. But I squealed with excitement when
- 16:23Speaker 1: you sent it to me, Amy, because it's kind of
- 16:25Speaker 1: giving me the vibe of Nigella Christmas. Remember when she
- 16:28Speaker 1: had a special Christmas series? I just love that stuff.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Like it's going to be totally non-relatable. We're probably not
- 16:33Speaker 1: going to follow any of Megan's Christmas crafts that she suggests.
- 16:37Speaker 1: But there's just something that feels so Christmassy about her
- 16:41Speaker 1: dropping a show like this. I feel like it will
- 16:43Speaker 1: be very relaxing. Another good show to nap in front
- 16:45Speaker 1: of the couch with the Christmas tree lights on. Actually,
- 16:48Speaker 1: will we not be napping? We've booked in a girl's
- 16:50Speaker 1: night to do gingerbread trains, not houses. I mean, I'll
- 16:54Speaker 1: be probably doing a cheese board, which because we're watching
- 16:56Speaker 1: Meghan Markle, I'll probably refer to it as a charcuterie board.
- 16:59Speaker 1: And there will be a bit of pressure to make
- 17:00Speaker 1: it actually look quite nice. Now I've got some of
- 17:02Speaker 1: the tips off, Meghan. Conte creator Roshan Tarrant, better known
- 17:07Speaker 1: by her handle Gbungalow, has been accused of copying a
- 17:10Speaker 1: slogan t-shirt produced by small clothing brand Stitch Nest. Now,
- 17:14Speaker 1: in September, Roshan announced that she and her husband were
- 17:17Speaker 1: launching a children's clothing brand called BuyG. Now, Roshan has
- 17:21Speaker 1: been extremely transparent on our socials about just how important
- 17:24Speaker 1: it is for her to produce ethically manufactured clothes. Yeah,
- 17:28Speaker 1: and at the time of the campaign launch, we also
- 17:31Speaker 1: discussed on the podcast her decision not to feature... children's
- 17:34Speaker 1: faces in the campaign, which was one that was really
- 17:37Speaker 1: highly praised online. So it was very surprising to see
- 17:41Speaker 1: these accusations pop up on TikTok. Yeah. So the slogan
- 17:45Speaker 1: t-shirt in question, it includes the saying butter wouldn't melt. Now,
- 17:49Speaker 1: Stacey went on to explain that she'd purchased a marketing
- 17:52Speaker 1: course created by Roshan in June of this year. So
- 17:56Speaker 1: she was trying to draw the bow that Roshan had
- 17:58Speaker 1: seen her business. She was aware of her clothing line
- 18:00Speaker 1: and potentially she had copied it. Now Roshan responded to
- 18:04Speaker 1: the TikTok writing in the comment section. Hey lovely, this
- 18:07Speaker 1: would have been easily cleared up if you messaged me.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Here's a screenshot from May of the t-shirt designs that
- 18:12Speaker 1: were initially briefed at the end of April. This is
- 18:15Speaker 1: a common saying and fits within old timers collection, which
- 18:18Speaker 1: is the style of slogan across all our tees. I
- 18:21Speaker 1: hadn't seen your tee until now. It's really cute. I mean,
- 18:25Speaker 1: I'm with Roshan here. I think this is an incredibly
- 18:27Speaker 1: common saying. I think that maybe this woman is trying
- 18:31Speaker 1: to get a bit of publicity or attention around her
- 18:33Speaker 1: clothing line by calling her out. From a PR perspective,
- 18:37Speaker 1: I think Roshan has handled this really well because if
- 18:41Speaker 1: she was to share her own TikTok, I think that's
- 18:44Speaker 1: where things would blow up. I mean, she was really polite.
- 18:47Speaker 1: She was complimentary about the t-shirt designs and she provided
- 18:50Speaker 1: a receipt. So this is sort of like, okay, let's
- 18:53Speaker 1: end the conversation amicably there. Yeah, she's kind of made
- 18:56Speaker 1: it look like this woman's really petty. Sophie-Jane Miller has
- 18:59Speaker 1: been busy signing copies of her new cookbook, Simply Scrumptious.
- 19:03Speaker 1: In August, the Gold Coast influencer topped Booktopia's charts based
- 19:07Speaker 1: on just the pre-sale alone. So she revealed this week
- 19:10Speaker 1: that she pre-sold 1,000 copies, which she personally signed at
- 19:14Speaker 1: Booktopia's office. Were you surprised by the figure? I'm not
- 19:17Speaker 1: really surprised because I know Sophie has a really engaged audience.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I mean, she's not Australia's biggest influencer. She's got 140,000 followers.
- 19:25Speaker 1: But that audience is really locked in. They feel like
- 19:28Speaker 1: she's a friend. It is a decent amount of sales
- 19:30Speaker 1: when you consider the book costs $ 54. 95. It's not necessarily
- 19:34Speaker 1: a cheap product. Yeah. And often it's hard to visualize
- 19:36Speaker 1: a thousand people. So Sophie showed this time lapse of
- 19:39Speaker 1: her signing all of the books. And it was this
- 19:41Speaker 1: absolutely huge mountain. And the thought that she had sold
- 19:44Speaker 1: that many in the pre-sale was just incredible. So her
- 19:47Speaker 1: book officially goes on sale on November 18th. So it's
- 19:50Speaker 1: going to be interesting to see how many more copies
- 19:52Speaker 1: she sells. Yeah, well, it's been a busy couple of
- 19:54Speaker 1: months for Sophie. She recently got married to her long-term partner, Sam,
- 19:58Speaker 1: in a beautiful wedding in Byron Bay. And shortly after that,
- 20:01Speaker 1: she announced a collaboration with jewelry line Jazz Handmade. So
- 20:05Speaker 1: she's got a lot of things on sale at the moment.
- 20:09Speaker 1: It's interesting timing having these launches so close to each
- 20:13Speaker 1: other because you would think her fans may not have
- 20:18Speaker 1: a lot of money to spend. So you potentially would
- 20:20Speaker 1: probably prefer them to buy your cookbook over the jewelry
- 20:23Speaker 1: collaboration you've been a part of. Well, I think it
- 20:25Speaker 1: was taken out of her hands a bit because it
- 20:27Speaker 1: clearly coincided with her wedding. It was great. And put
- 20:30Speaker 1: into Jazz's hands. Yeah. And also this cookbook, It has been,
- 20:35Speaker 1: I think, two years in the making. They were meant
- 20:37Speaker 1: to release it ages ago, but Booktopia went into administration.
- 20:40Speaker 1: So it's probably not the best timing, but it seems
- 20:43Speaker 1: to be going pretty well for her. UK influencer Zoe
- 20:47Speaker 1: Ray has finally moved into her new home that she
- 20:50Speaker 1: shares with her husband, Danny. So for the past six months,
- 20:53Speaker 1: Zoe has been living at her sister Molly May's house
- 20:56Speaker 1: whilst her new home was being built. And understandably, Zoe
- 20:59Speaker 1: has not revealed the suburb that she's moved to. But
- 21:02Speaker 1: it's understood the house isn't too far from Molly's home.
- 21:06Speaker 1: They've definitely taken a step up from their last rental.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Like the house almost looks like Molly's home. Yeah, well,
- 21:13Speaker 1: people have been calling it the mini Molly mansion. While
- 21:16Speaker 1: others have said that they were quite shocked by how
- 21:18Speaker 1: small the house was. But Zoe said that she and
- 21:21Speaker 1: Danny had chosen location over the size of the house.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I mean, I wasn't surprised. I actually thought it was
- 21:27Speaker 1: quite a big house considering the It looked like they'd
- 21:30Speaker 1: moved into a really nice area. I mean, Zoe and
- 21:32Speaker 1: Danny don't make as much money as Molly and Tommy.
- 21:36Speaker 1: So I thought this was quite an impressive house. I
- 21:38Speaker 1: don't think anyone should be turning their nose up at
- 21:40Speaker 1: this place. It's got three bedrooms, a gym and a
- 21:43Speaker 1: movie room. It's hardly like they're bloody slumming it. Yeah,
- 21:46Speaker 1: and I think it's refreshing to see a house that's
- 21:48Speaker 1: not some F off mansion. Let's get into our Friday
- 21:52Speaker 1: debrief and I'm coming to you with a recommendation. Everyone
- 21:57Speaker 1: needs to watch Big Brother Australia. A couple of months ago,
- 22:01Speaker 1: we discussed how Big Brother was back on Channel 10.
- 22:04Speaker 1: It's back at Dreamworld. And they promised they were going
- 22:07Speaker 1: to make it like the OG Big Brother. We weren't
- 22:09Speaker 1: going to have stupid games and strategy and people building alliances.
- 22:15Speaker 1: It was actually just going to be real people put
- 22:17Speaker 1: in a house on the Gold Coast and be filmed.
- 22:19Speaker 1: And that's exactly what we've gotten. It's so good. I'm
- 22:23Speaker 1: really enjoying it. It's making me feel nostalgic. And it's
- 22:27Speaker 1: actually making people talk because they're obviously telling the housemates
- 22:31Speaker 1: to have specific conversations that are going to create those
- 22:34Speaker 1: water cooler moments like they did back in the day. Yeah,
- 22:36Speaker 1: I have every intention to watch this. I've seen bits
- 22:39Speaker 1: and pieces on TikTok and the contestants they've put in,
- 22:42Speaker 1: they've just cast it so well. You've got your anti-woke
- 22:45Speaker 1: white men who just seem to be picking dumb fights
- 22:48Speaker 1: all the time with these poor women who have to
- 22:50Speaker 1: explain to them just how utterly incorrect they are. Yeah. Well,
- 22:55Speaker 1: he works at FHM. Oh, that's the older guy. Cause
- 22:58Speaker 1: there's another guy called Bruce. Who's like, I saw some
- 23:00Speaker 1: clip of him on TikTok and he was eating salad
- 23:02Speaker 1: with the salad tongs that were the communal tongs. And
- 23:05Speaker 1: I was like, you were a pig. He told everyone
- 23:08Speaker 1: that he drank too much soy growing up. So he
- 23:11Speaker 1: had to have a breast reduction. Oh my gosh. There
- 23:14Speaker 1: are some classic people in there and I just love
- 23:15Speaker 1: the way that they're bucking with them early on. Like
- 23:19Speaker 1: they sent, not to ruin it for anyone who wants
- 23:20Speaker 1: to catch up, but They sent all the housemates in
- 23:23Speaker 1: and then didn't let them have their bags. So they
- 23:25Speaker 1: haven't had any skincare, any makeup, any hair dries, any clothes.
- 23:29Speaker 1: And all the girls have been having to get around
- 23:31Speaker 1: in the male contestants outfits because they all came in
- 23:34Speaker 1: in really uncomfortable dresses and corsets. Like it's been absolutely classic. Well,
- 23:40Speaker 1: I'm coming to you with a life update, Kate, because
- 23:42Speaker 1: I haven't given one for a number of months. So
- 23:45Speaker 1: in short, I'm now a basic bitch. I love matcha.
- 23:48Speaker 1: That has become my personality. It's really sad. I used
- 23:52Speaker 1: to judge people that drank matcha, then I had a
- 23:53Speaker 1: glass and I've suddenly become addicted to it. See, I
- 23:56Speaker 1: was judging you. I'll put it out there because you
- 23:58Speaker 1: kept going on about, oh, I go down to this
- 24:00Speaker 1: cafe and they've got the best matcha. And I was like, yeah, okay,
- 24:04Speaker 1: I suppose I'll try it. I've had it twice and
- 24:06Speaker 1: I'm absolutely hooked. I think about it quite often. I know,
- 24:08Speaker 1: and it's so close to my house. The other day
- 24:10Speaker 1: I went to go down and it was closed on
- 24:12Speaker 1: a Monday and it was the most disappointing. Like it
- 24:14Speaker 1: actually ruined my day. My other update is that I
- 24:18Speaker 1: have an allergy. Now it's not to matcha. But we
- 24:21Speaker 1: hope not. Basically, I've been breaking out in this strange
- 24:24Speaker 1: rash and I thought it was related to being postpartum.
- 24:27Speaker 1: But it turns out I think I have a food allergy.
- 24:30Speaker 1: So I've got an appointment with an allergist. I have
- 24:31Speaker 1: a suspicion I could suddenly have become allergic to sweet
- 24:34Speaker 1: potato since having Harry. I know that sounds really odd,
- 24:37Speaker 1: but a lot of people are saying online that since
- 24:39Speaker 1: they had a baby, they have changed and now they
- 24:43Speaker 1: are suddenly allergic to food that they didn't used to be.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I mean, Sarah's day gets pregnant and she can suddenly
- 24:47Speaker 1: eat gluten and lactose. That is actually a thing. I'm
- 24:51Speaker 1: still a bit skeptical on that. Now, the last update
- 24:54Speaker 1: is that. We've got three. Yeah. And then none of
- 24:57Speaker 1: these have been baby related. Is number three going to
- 24:59Speaker 1: be baby related? I feel like people are sick of
- 25:01Speaker 1: hearing about the babies. So I'm just giving some love updates.
- 25:04Speaker 1: So my husband Dale and I, we've actually launched a
- 25:07Speaker 1: TikTok account. So this is just a plug. This is
- 25:10Speaker 1: just a bit of a plug. We've been sharing some
- 25:13Speaker 1: of the videos that we've done about Christmas time on
- 25:15Speaker 1: Outspoken's Instagram account. But I thought, poor Dale, I force
- 25:18Speaker 1: him to be in all of these videos. He's not
- 25:20Speaker 1: on TikTok himself, but I have created an account. It's
- 25:23Speaker 1: called Amy and Dale, and we will be showing some
- 25:25Speaker 1: fun videos in the coming weeks if anyone wants to
- 25:27Speaker 1: chuck us a follow. Well, I wait with bated breath
- 25:29Speaker 1: for some more content because every time you put something out,
- 25:32Speaker 1: Rhys gets a message saying, when are you and Kate
- 25:34Speaker 1: doing something? And he said that there's no way in
- 25:37Speaker 1: hell that he'll ever be in any of that type
- 25:39Speaker 1: of comedy content. Well, why not? I think Rhys would
- 25:41Speaker 1: actually be quite good. I mean, Dale said he's just
- 25:44Speaker 1: method acting because he does actually hate Christmas. There'll be
- 25:47Speaker 1: Interesting when we expand the repertoire of videos. Well, I
- 25:50Speaker 1: feel like I need a medal because I somehow managed
- 25:52Speaker 1: to get Rhys down to the Christmas pageant with me
- 25:55Speaker 1: on Saturday morning. We arrogantly drove around for about an
- 25:59Speaker 1: hour because we arrogantly thought we might be able to
- 26:01Speaker 1: get just a public park. We ended up having to
- 26:04Speaker 1: park miles away and walking 15 minutes. But shout out
- 26:07Speaker 1: to our friends, Carly and Steve. They saved us a
- 26:10Speaker 1: front row seat. Poor Steve slept out overnight. He got
- 26:14Speaker 1: there at like 2.30 in the morning. What dad of
- 26:17Speaker 1: the year? Yeah, there was an article in the Advertiser
- 26:19Speaker 1: and it was discussing how many parents now camp out
- 26:21Speaker 1: to get front row seats at the pageant. I mean,
- 26:24Speaker 1: this year, I think they had 350,000 people rock up
- 26:28Speaker 1: into the city. I mean, I'm surprised you even got
- 26:31Speaker 1: to park 15 minutes away. I swear this wasn't a
- 26:34Speaker 1: thing when we were kids. Like you could rock up
- 26:36Speaker 1: at a relatively normal time and get a front row seat.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Like it's ridiculous. It is ridiculous. But your videos that
- 26:41Speaker 1: you sent me of Jack at the pageant, it's inspired
- 26:43Speaker 1: me to go next year. So maybe I'll have to
- 26:45Speaker 1: convince Dale to go out at 2.30 in the morning. Well,
- 26:48Speaker 1: I think Rhys has resigned himself to the fact that
- 26:50Speaker 1: next year he's going to have to camp out at 2.30.
- 26:52Speaker 1: So if you want to camp out with him. Well,
- 26:54Speaker 1: do you know what? Maybe us girls should just go
- 26:55Speaker 1: because like, especially during teething times with children, it's quite
- 26:59Speaker 1: unpleasant being around at 2.30 in the morning. We could
- 27:02Speaker 1: have a You could probably get quite a decent sleep
- 27:04Speaker 1: in the city at night time. Some will have to
- 27:06Speaker 1: keep watch, but I mean. Yeah, I feel like it's
- 27:08Speaker 1: a bit dangerous for women to be camped out there.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I think it's a job for the dads. Anyway, well,
- 27:13Speaker 1: that is where we're going to leave things for today.
- 27:15Speaker 1: If you do want to hear more content from us,
- 27:17Speaker 1: we drop a subscriber-only episode every Thursday. All the details
- 27:21Speaker 1: to sign up are in our show notes. This podcast
- 27:24Speaker 1: was recorded on the traditional land of the Kaurna people
- 27:26Speaker 1: of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to elders past
- 27:29Speaker 1: and present.
