- 0:05Speaker 1: All right, all right, live from Philly, it's na Polly
- 0:11Speaker 1: and Tony Fools. So as always, Polly Fools go here
- 0:17Speaker 1: with Tony Foods Go and Tony terrible guest last week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: right right A. Jeff Perlman kept trying to crack jokes.
- 0:26Speaker 1: You know, we invite the guy on a podcast. I
- 0:28Speaker 1: think he thought he was headlining at the laugh Factory. Yeah,
- 0:32Speaker 1: it was more like the non laugh Factory. Great one, Tony. Anyway,
- 0:37Speaker 1: before we talk about our guest today, who hopefully isn't
- 0:40Speaker 1: so shitty. Uh, people ask us, you know, hey, Polly Tony,
- 0:43Speaker 1: they're asking us all the time, why haven't you gone national?
- 0:46Speaker 1: Since you're so good at what you do. Yeah, that's
- 0:50Speaker 1: what our competition would like us to do. They want
- 0:52Speaker 1: us to leave because we kept kept kicking their ass
- 0:55Speaker 1: in the ratings. You know, just to ask Garbitron number
- 0:58Speaker 1: one for twin three years straight. That's right, Paulie, tell
- 1:02Speaker 1: the people about our latest ratings report. Yeah. Well, you know,
- 1:06Speaker 1: we don't like to tute our own hole and own us,
- 1:09Speaker 1: but we would be neglectful if we didn't mention the
- 1:13Speaker 1: ratings for our last two episodes yep, Huge Through the
- 1:18Speaker 1: Roof and you want to know, it's it's not hard
- 1:19Speaker 1: to see why these fools at FS one, ESPN. You know,
- 1:23Speaker 1: they're doing shows every day. They're giving it away like
- 1:26Speaker 1: a bunch of dummies, working their answers off it. We
- 1:28Speaker 1: go off the air for seven months, come back, huge ratings.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Why it's something in this business. You gotta understand people.
- 1:37Speaker 1: It's called scarcity, right Tony exactly. I mean, look at
- 1:41Speaker 1: Game of Thrones, they did shows once a week, ten
- 1:45Speaker 1: episodes every two years. Emmy's glamor success. Scarcity. We're basically
- 1:54Speaker 1: the Game of Thrones of the sports stock world, yep.
- 1:59Speaker 1: And you know when number one in the top of
- 2:02Speaker 1: this city, right the number one sports city in the country,
- 2:05Speaker 1: which can't be said, unfortunately about our guest today, someone
- 2:08Speaker 1: who notably failed in Philly. You know, yeah, he won
- 2:12Speaker 1: Super Bowls with the forty Niners, Broncos, went to a
- 2:15Speaker 1: Super Bowl with the Raiders, block super Bowl everywhere except
- 2:19Speaker 1: here exactly when he played for the Eagles, no super Bowl,
- 2:23Speaker 1: total failure. And you know we're gonna get into that
- 2:25Speaker 1: with them. Asked him why he couldn't succeed on the
- 2:28Speaker 1: toughest stage, you know, like we've done. Yeah, he probably
- 2:32Speaker 1: feels intimidated coming on this show and being around people
- 2:36Speaker 1: who were more successful than him. Absolutely, Tony. You know,
- 2:40Speaker 1: when people found out that he was coming on the
- 2:42Speaker 1: show today, everybody said to me, they said, that's gotta
- 2:45Speaker 1: be intimidating for him. Totally. Well, um, you know, by
- 2:49Speaker 1: the way, on the subject of our huge ratings, Tony,
- 2:52Speaker 1: this is why I advertisers. They're begging the you know,
- 2:54Speaker 1: for for spots on this show. And uh. On that note,
- 2:58Speaker 1: we have a new presenting answer this week because we
- 3:01Speaker 1: had a bit of a falling out with our former
- 3:03Speaker 1: sponsor of Vinnie's Shoe bin. Yeah, fucking cheap assholes. But
- 3:08Speaker 1: that's all right. We got a new one, Pops oil
- 3:10Speaker 1: Change and tacos to go. As we all know, there's
- 3:14Speaker 1: no better combination than an oil change and seasoned meat
- 3:18Speaker 1: with a crunchy shell, Isn't that right? Tony? Absolutely Pops
- 3:22Speaker 1: knows what he's doing, unlike Vinny and his fucking overpriced shoes.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Fuck him exactly. By the way, people, that's what they
- 3:31Speaker 1: called in the business, a reverse advertisement for Vinnie's. There
- 3:35Speaker 1: you go anyway as usual. You know, there's been so
- 3:38Speaker 1: much Tony in the whole Sports World that we've just
- 3:41Speaker 1: been hitting right on the bull's eye. So let's get
- 3:44Speaker 1: into it. We're gonna run through it in a segment,
- 3:46Speaker 1: most popular segment where Polly and Tony were right Where
- 3:51Speaker 1: and Tony were right alright? First out the gate. You
- 3:57Speaker 1: know we've been saying there's something wrong with Aaron Rodgers
- 4:00Speaker 1: for years. You know, he just lost two more receivers,
- 4:03Speaker 1: Davante Adams and Marquez uh something something the other, but whatever.
- 4:10Speaker 1: You know, he's lost Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings in the past.
- 4:12Speaker 1: You know you count the fiance's girlfriends, Shylene Woodley, Anica Patrick,
- 4:17Speaker 1: Olivia Munster. Uh. There can only be one explanation for
- 4:21Speaker 1: why people don't want to be around this guy. Tell him,
- 4:23Speaker 1: Tony what it is? Bad body odor? When you add
- 4:27Speaker 1: it up, it's the only logical explanation. In fact, this season,
- 4:32Speaker 1: if you'll notice, the Packers wouldn't go to a huddle,
- 4:36Speaker 1: they would just go run the hurry up offense so
- 4:39Speaker 1: they wouldn't have to smell Aaron Rodgers. Great observation, Tony.
- 4:44Speaker 1: And you know that's the kind of content you don't
- 4:46Speaker 1: get on other shows where they're spitting it out. You know,
- 4:50Speaker 1: random three times three in many hours a day. See,
- 4:53Speaker 1: we think about our content and we give you a observations.
- 4:58Speaker 1: That's how it's done. Yeah, where Paulie and Tony were right,
- 5:03Speaker 1: this one we called early. Tony didn't wait sure dead.
- 5:06Speaker 1: You know, we said weeks ago we had already witnessed
- 5:09Speaker 1: the biggest move of the off season and that no
- 5:11Speaker 1: matter what happens, that nothing's gonna top that one. It's
- 5:14Speaker 1: too huge. Uh. It's not Indie getting Matt Ryan, Nope.
- 5:18Speaker 1: And it's not the Broncos picking up Russell Wilson bad Mole,
- 5:22Speaker 1: and uh definitely not Brady going back to the Bucks
- 5:26Speaker 1: to all. Yeah, no team has yet the top the
- 5:30Speaker 1: best move. This is the best moving years, the Steelers
- 5:34Speaker 1: getting Mitch Krubinsky and Tony. We've always been high on
- 5:38Speaker 1: Troubisky having all the way you know, to exactly. You know,
- 5:42Speaker 1: people only think we went down on him, you know,
- 5:45Speaker 1: because you know we called the names like Ditch Rubinsky,
- 5:48Speaker 1: Mits True Shitsky, Mitch True Sucksky, ships Crushitsky, tits Trushitsky.
- 5:53Speaker 1: But you know that was only because we wanted Nick
- 5:55Speaker 1: Foles to take his place on the Bears. You know,
- 5:58Speaker 1: tro whisky is a great sit stickle quarterback Tony you
- 6:01Speaker 1: said you have a you are a statue looked up.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I just looked up his stats this morning. Do you
- 6:08Speaker 1: know that his career completion percentage is sixty four point
- 6:13Speaker 1: one percent. Do you know which qube had a lower
- 6:17Speaker 1: completion percentage than that? Who? Joe Montana? Wow? Wow? What
- 6:27Speaker 1: a find, Tony. You know, I'm just processing that. So
- 6:30Speaker 1: you know, based on that, you've got to say, go
- 6:32Speaker 1: with the numbers. Mitch Trobsky better than Joe Montana. Numbers
- 6:37Speaker 1: never lie. Wow, where Pauli and Tony were right? You
- 6:42Speaker 1: know how at the top that one Tony but way,
- 6:44Speaker 1: somehow did Gonzaga out in the sweet sixth theme even
- 6:49Speaker 1: though they were a number one seed in the Thorney
- 6:52Speaker 1: And you know we weren't surprised even in the least
- 6:55Speaker 1: bit where we don'ty, Nope. You know we've been saying
- 6:59Speaker 1: this forever. You know, people think the judge if a
- 7:01Speaker 1: team is good or not, you've got to look at
- 7:03Speaker 1: the rankings. No, that's a waste of time. All you
- 7:07Speaker 1: gotta do is look at the coach's last name. It's simple, right, Donty, Absolutely,
- 7:15Speaker 1: you know, look at the Bobby Knight night fighting, you know,
- 7:19Speaker 1: like a Knight power. I'm a great name, right absolutely.
- 7:23Speaker 1: And here's another one, Jay Wright rhymes with Knight and
- 7:28Speaker 1: also right like correct yep. And Dean Smith dean authority
- 7:36Speaker 1: figure and uh you got, of course Mike Schefski. There
- 7:40Speaker 1: you go. Of course, no explanation necessary on that one.
- 7:46Speaker 1: But then Gonzaga has this coach named Mark Few, terrible name.
- 7:52Speaker 1: What kind of a last name is Few? I mean,
- 7:55Speaker 1: what is that? Would you ever hire a coach name Tim?
- 7:59Speaker 1: Not Many? Or Joe Scarcely? No, well, put tony? And
- 8:06Speaker 1: you know when you put it that way, it's no
- 8:08Speaker 1: surprise who Gonzaga LOSTO Arkansas coached by Eric Muscleman. Now
- 8:15Speaker 1: that's a good name. There you go. Alright, as you
- 8:18Speaker 1: could say, we could keep going here forever, but I
- 8:21Speaker 1: see our guests coming on the line, so let's bring
- 8:24Speaker 1: him on the FUSCO Satellite network. Satellite alright. This guy,
- 8:32Speaker 1: two time Pro Bowl linebacker, known for having a little
- 8:36Speaker 1: bit of a temper, you know a little bit, but
- 8:38Speaker 1: most notably, I guess played in five Super Bowls with
- 8:42Speaker 1: the forty Niners Broncos Raiders. Wonder four of them you know,
- 8:45Speaker 1: big deal whatever. As you know, though, he played for
- 8:49Speaker 1: the Eagles for two years and didn't even sniff a
- 8:54Speaker 1: Super Bowl. Anyway, let's just get him in here, Bill Romanowski,
- 8:58Speaker 1: Welcome to the show. Welcome. What's happening, guys? How are
- 9:02Speaker 1: you well, I'll tell you what's happening. As we mentioned
- 9:06Speaker 1: at the top of the show, you know, Philly is
- 9:08Speaker 1: the ultimate sports city, right, you know, best team's, best fans.
- 9:12Speaker 1: When you look back at your career, do you feel
- 9:14Speaker 1: like because you didn't win at the highest level here
- 9:17Speaker 1: in Philadelphia, that you know your career was, you know,
- 9:19Speaker 1: kind of a failure. Now, actually, now we went to
- 9:25Speaker 1: the playoffs. Uh my second year lost to Dallas and
- 9:30Speaker 1: they won the Super Bowl. Yeah, exactly lost the Dallas
- 9:34Speaker 1: and Barry Switzer, who is widely regarded as the worst
- 9:39Speaker 1: coach in NFL history. I mean, come on, that's not
- 9:42Speaker 1: exactly a feather in your cap, is it. You won
- 9:45Speaker 1: a Super Bowl? So that puts him at an elite
- 9:50Speaker 1: level of not very many coaches that have won Super Bowls.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, alright, but you let him get this. So
- 9:57Speaker 1: let's just get the focus back to you here, because like,
- 10:00Speaker 1: just go through that team all right. You know, you
- 10:02Speaker 1: look around, Bill, it doesn't look very good for you,
- 10:05Speaker 1: because you know, you look at the coach, great coach,
- 10:07Speaker 1: rich coach type, rich coat type right there, and Rhodes
- 10:12Speaker 1: coach of the year. Two great coaches had Hershel Walker
- 10:15Speaker 1: at running back, herschel Walker in his prime, and of
- 10:18Speaker 1: course a terrific quarterback in Bubby Brista. So when you
- 10:22Speaker 1: hear that rasta, don't you think it had to be you?
- 10:26Speaker 1: Something you did and we had a lot of great players.
- 10:30Speaker 1: It was a lot of fun. I enjoyed playing in Philly,
- 10:34Speaker 1: and we had we played some good football my second year.
- 10:38Speaker 1: We started out the season my first year in nine
- 10:43Speaker 1: pretty damn strong, and uh, you know, I didn't play
- 10:50Speaker 1: very well the second half of the season, and we
- 10:55Speaker 1: had a better football team and went two rounds in
- 10:59Speaker 1: the playoffs. We did all right. But when I went
- 11:02Speaker 1: to Denver as when we turned around and won Super Bowl. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:07Speaker 1: hold on a second, yeah, well yeah, you're Bill Romanowski.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Suddenly you come to Philly and just getting into the
- 11:13Speaker 1: playoffs is suddenly good enough for you. Isn't that kind
- 11:16Speaker 1: of false representation that you sold the Eagles a bill
- 11:19Speaker 1: of goods that wasn't true. You you you you, you
- 11:22Speaker 1: know you told him I'll bring you a super Bowl,
- 11:24Speaker 1: don't worry, and then you know you went off and
- 11:26Speaker 1: just sat around on your asses. I told him I
- 11:29Speaker 1: would kick ass for them. I would work my ass
- 11:32Speaker 1: off and every damn day I would bring a level
- 11:36Speaker 1: of intensity to help our team win. And that's what
- 11:39Speaker 1: I did. It wasn't enough, It wasn't enough. Yeah, were
- 11:44Speaker 1: you afraid of Charlie Gardner? Like when practices, did Charlie
- 11:47Speaker 1: Gardener like run circles around you? Because he was pretty good? Yeah?
- 11:52Speaker 1: Pretty good? But I have four super Bowl rings. He
- 11:57Speaker 1: doesn't have any. Okay, Yes, that's the kind of teammate.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Maybe that was going on. You were walking around flaunting
- 12:04Speaker 1: those rings and telling people all on yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 12:09Speaker 1: bad teammate. I only had to yeah from San Francisco
- 12:15Speaker 1: at the time, which is a good segue, poly What
- 12:19Speaker 1: do you want to say, guys, Yeah, worked hard every
- 12:23Speaker 1: day except for the in the years. Don't He's right,
- 12:27Speaker 1: Let's just move on here, because clearly you're not giving
- 12:30Speaker 1: us much. You're not giving us much, Bill, all right,
- 12:33Speaker 1: you know you gotta you're gonna be on a show
- 12:35Speaker 1: like this, you gotta give a little more. Look, let's
- 12:37Speaker 1: just talk in the eighties and nineties, right, you played
- 12:40Speaker 1: with Joe Montana, right, and as we all know, Joe
- 12:44Speaker 1: Montana had a not impressive completion percentage of sixty three
- 12:48Speaker 1: point to percent. Now we look this up, new Steelers
- 12:51Speaker 1: quarterback Ntch Trubisky has a completion percentage of sixty four
- 12:55Speaker 1: point one percent. So you know, based on that, wouldn't
- 12:58Speaker 1: you agree Whisky is better than Montana. Come on, Joe
- 13:03Speaker 1: Anna has four Super Bowl rings, so Mitch true Biscuit
- 13:08Speaker 1: could have eight by the time he's done. What like,
- 13:11Speaker 1: were you were you born with? What about you? You
- 13:14Speaker 1: have your Super Bowl rings? Like when you came out
- 13:16Speaker 1: of the womb? No, did you turn to your mom
- 13:18Speaker 1: and say, where's my ring? You had to work to them?
- 13:21Speaker 1: True Bisky is working to them and he has a
- 13:24Speaker 1: better completion percentage already. Yeah, that's a different, uh different
- 13:29Speaker 1: error of football. They used to be able to um
- 13:34Speaker 1: really hold guys that the line of scrim scrimmage bumped
- 13:39Speaker 1: them down the field. Now it's a different it's a
- 13:43Speaker 1: different game than it was back when Montana was playing.
- 13:48Speaker 1: That brings up an interesting question. You know you played
- 13:51Speaker 1: with quarterbacks back then, Joe Montana, John Elway. How did
- 13:55Speaker 1: they smell? Just curious? Never smelled him. Oh. The reason
- 14:01Speaker 1: we ask because because earlier we were talking about Aaron
- 14:05Speaker 1: Rodgers and why his wide receivers just keep leaving him.
- 14:09Speaker 1: It can't be because of talent. It's gotta be because
- 14:12Speaker 1: of body odor. He must smell like day old piss,
- 14:16Speaker 1: Like you know when you forget to flush the toilet
- 14:18Speaker 1: and you go back the next day and it smells bad.
- 14:20Speaker 1: That's why Aaron Rodgers smells like. Don't you agree? Yeah,
- 14:24Speaker 1: I don't think they care how he smells. How do
- 14:28Speaker 1: you smell, Bill, I'm looking at you. Probably not that
- 14:31Speaker 1: good smell. Really, what do you smell like? Describe it
- 14:37Speaker 1: for our audience. I'm looking at you. I see draca
- 14:40Speaker 1: noir clean, I smell clean? All right? Don't you know?
- 14:47Speaker 1: He's very high on himself. Let me just talk. I
- 14:51Speaker 1: kind of get why, because you know, people they said
- 14:54Speaker 1: all these great things about your din in your career whatever.
- 14:57Speaker 1: But let's face it, off the field, not so much.
- 15:00Speaker 1: You were overshadowed by the greatest linebacker of your generation
- 15:04Speaker 1: of Lso talking about the great Brian Bosworth. He had
- 15:07Speaker 1: the movies, huge box office hits, the cool haircut. Isn't
- 15:11Speaker 1: it fair to say you were jealous of Brian Bosworth?
- 15:14Speaker 1: Come on, tell us he played ten games in the NFL. Yeah, scarcity,
- 15:23Speaker 1: that's in this business. Have you ever heard of scarcity?
- 15:26Speaker 1: You give people just a little, but you get a lot.
- 15:29Speaker 1: His career got cut short um because of injury, and
- 15:36Speaker 1: I think he wished he could have still played, you know,
- 15:40Speaker 1: you know, sixteen years like myself. I don't know. Yeah,
- 15:44Speaker 1: you played against some of the quarterbacks, you know, back
- 15:47Speaker 1: then in that day. Okay, let me ask you something.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Who is your favorite one to hit? Um? I'll tell
- 15:54Speaker 1: you what. When we played the Eagles, I wanted to
- 15:57Speaker 1: hit Randall Cunningham. You know this, This is what I'm
- 16:01Speaker 1: talking about. He's going at Philly. You on the team.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Yeah the hell did we let you on the team.
- 16:06Speaker 1: You're a trader? Unbelievable. You know, you're like KGB. Yeah
- 16:11Speaker 1: that's yourself. Do you do you have something against the Silly?
- 16:15Speaker 1: Were you a spy that came to Philly and just
- 16:17Speaker 1: deliberate me? Yeah? Make them worse? Did you convince? Hey,
- 16:21Speaker 1: George Seafoot, I'm gonna go over to Philly. Don't worry,
- 16:24Speaker 1: I'll make them way worse. Is that what you did? Now?
- 16:27Speaker 1: Because when I was in Philly, we went out to
- 16:30Speaker 1: San Francisco and kick their ass, because what do you
- 16:33Speaker 1: steal the playbook and tell everybody how you're gonna win
- 16:36Speaker 1: because you're a KGB like that. Now, what I did
- 16:39Speaker 1: is I stole um. I stole their vassaline and they're
- 16:45Speaker 1: still own that went on their jerseys. Oh, I know
- 16:49Speaker 1: that was something fishy about those Super Bowls gave Philadelphia?
- 16:56Speaker 1: Is that what you did? Is that what you want?
- 16:59Speaker 1: And that's what you did? Yea? So let me get
- 17:04Speaker 1: this straight. You came in the building and you said,
- 17:06Speaker 1: don't worry guys, here's the key to Super Bowl, not plays,
- 17:10Speaker 1: not defense. Vassiline in a silicon for all defensive players.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And what did you lather people up before the game?
- 17:21Speaker 1: What did you don't tell me? Well, clearly you must
- 17:25Speaker 1: have shaken hands with Bubby Brista, and that's why he
- 17:27Speaker 1: was fumbling the balls all the time. They lost to Dallas.
- 17:32Speaker 1: They were all too slippery. They just weren't able to
- 17:34Speaker 1: hold me. Yeah, probably because you smelled that. Can I
- 17:37Speaker 1: just ask you what city did you enjoy living in
- 17:40Speaker 1: more San Francisco or the great city of Philadelphia. Um,
- 17:46Speaker 1: I actually lived in Mount laurel Over in Jersey. Oh,
- 17:51Speaker 1: he didn't even leave in Philly. This guy, all right,
- 17:55Speaker 1: this is it, Bill, this is it. You are a fraud.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I was across the bridge and I liked it over there.
- 18:02Speaker 1: You know, Tony, we got to send this to the
- 18:04Speaker 1: Pulitzer Committee because this is what we call investigative journalism.
- 18:09Speaker 1: We've established that your chief, Philly, you didn't live in Philly.
- 18:15Speaker 1: You tried to bring down the team. So I'm gonna
- 18:16Speaker 1: give you this opportunity because you're never gonna have an
- 18:19Speaker 1: audience like this ever again. Bill Gonna, this is the
- 18:22Speaker 1: widest audience you have ever reached. Look at the camera
- 18:25Speaker 1: right now. Apologize to Philly for your poor play, your
- 18:30Speaker 1: your lack of loyalty, and your shitty all around behavior.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Go okay, well, Philly, UM, I'm I'm sorry we weren't
- 18:40Speaker 1: able to win a Super Bowl. When I was there,
- 18:42Speaker 1: I gave you everything I had, my heart, my soul, passion,
- 18:48Speaker 1: hard work, vasoline, vasoline, silicon and silicon. Ah you know what,
- 18:58Speaker 1: but I was happy you got it on a few
- 19:00Speaker 1: years after I left. Look, his it's as strange that
- 19:06Speaker 1: your shitty internet connection is given out right now. You
- 19:10Speaker 1: know what, I'm not even gonna try to fix it
- 19:12Speaker 1: because I got the fixed right, hit bro Romanowski. Guess
- 19:17Speaker 1: what you're roman out on the streets because you're off
- 19:21Speaker 1: the Wow. But yeah, you notice how aw satellite network
- 19:36Speaker 1: held up perfectly for that, except when at the end
- 19:40Speaker 1: suddenly when he's when he got back to the wall. Now, yeah,
- 19:46Speaker 1: you know what, can I say something? Yeah, Bill Romanowski
- 19:51Speaker 1: more like Bill roman out Ski because that interview hurt
- 19:56Speaker 1: my ears absolutely well. Said don't be a great way
- 20:01Speaker 1: to put a button on that? Then, you know, talking
- 20:03Speaker 1: about button, let's just go ahead and put a button
- 20:05Speaker 1: on this show? What it isn't producer Ja, what the
- 20:14Speaker 1: hell do you want talk about a bad connection? That's
- 20:17Speaker 1: what I decided on working relationship. Yeah, but a couple
