- 0:01Speaker 1: The Blaze in Confused. Podcast is rated AM for marijuana,
- 0:04Speaker 1: no miners, but your audience is only that phone. Sound good, dude.
- 0:09Speaker 2: This morning I walked six miles. I went biking for
- 0:12Speaker 2: about twelve. I got home just before I came here.
- 0:14Speaker 2: It took a shower.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I almost ate it in the shower, like I slipped.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I almost ate it. You never heard that term. How
- 0:20Speaker 1: I've heard that term. But what a weird term? I
- 0:23Speaker 1: what do you mean? What do you mean? I should
- 0:25Speaker 1: have had he listen.
- 0:26Speaker 3: We've all tried to eat it at one point I
- 0:29Speaker 3: can't quite reach. Now, I'm just like, man, I'm forty.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Do I qualify for a life alert now? Like you
- 0:35Speaker 3: don't have to worry about that kind of thing.
- 0:36Speaker 4: Oh, you guys are gonna shit out of me because
- 0:40Speaker 4: I'm older than you guys.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Wait, can you swear on this?
- 0:42Speaker 3: Oh?
- 0:43Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, Okay, I'm not used to that.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's very refreshing. However, I will admit he
- 0:48Speaker 3: abuses it. I abuse it for him. Probably it's weird
- 0:51Speaker 3: to be behind a microphone and say the word fuck.
- 0:53Speaker 4: I've been doing radio for thirty years, but in my
- 0:56Speaker 4: real life I'm filthy. But you can turn it on
- 1:00Speaker 4: and off. He can just hit the switch, you know.
- 1:02Speaker 4: So people always know that, Like, how do you not
- 1:04Speaker 4: curse on the air.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I don't know. You just ye train yourself. I've come
- 1:07Speaker 1: close a few times. Yeah, I've bet.
- 1:09Speaker 4: I have a quick story about a guy who when
- 1:11Speaker 4: I started at Zzo, we actually had an overnight guy,
- 1:14Speaker 4: and before he would go on there to do a break,
- 1:17Speaker 4: he'd have his headphones on, he'd have the microphone on
- 1:19Speaker 4: but potted down, and he would just go fuck, fuck,
- 1:24Speaker 4: pussy shit.
- 1:26Speaker 1: And we was getting it out of his system.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Right I'm in the studio and after the break, I
- 1:32Speaker 4: was like, what was that? And he's like, I have
- 1:34Speaker 4: to do that because I'm so afraid I'm gonna swear.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Like it was his first radio job. He's like, I
- 1:39Speaker 1: have to do that every time. That is a great
- 1:41Speaker 1: story doing that. Should I start doing that now? I
- 1:44Speaker 1: want to get your opinion on this.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I find myself, as of recently, going down to the
- 1:48Speaker 3: mail room of this apartment building and pick up my packages,
- 1:51Speaker 3: and I see other packages sitting there, and I find
- 1:54Speaker 3: myself looking at the name on the package and then
- 1:57Speaker 3: looking up that person on social media, just see what
- 2:00Speaker 3: they look like.
- 2:01Speaker 1: And I want to know if this is fucking weird.
- 2:03Speaker 4: No, And I have a quick story about that, as
- 2:05Speaker 4: I was at a book fair yesterday and I got
- 2:09Speaker 4: this really cool old book.
- 2:10Speaker 1: And yes, what's playing with that is I know what
- 2:12Speaker 1: a book fair is, bitch. So I'm flipping through.
- 2:15Speaker 4: I'm flipping through the pages, and a fucking one of
- 2:17Speaker 4: those old like where you you run the credit card machine?
- 2:21Speaker 4: Oh yeah, across like one of those slips was in
- 2:24Speaker 4: the pages, like the woman's name and her credit card
- 2:26Speaker 4: number from when she originally bought the book. And I'm like,
- 2:29Speaker 4: that's bad. She's lucky I got it because I'm just
- 2:32Speaker 4: gonna shred it. But I looked her up on social media.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Of course you did? You found her? Oh did you
- 2:38Speaker 1: message her? No? Oh you should have sent her a
- 2:40Speaker 1: picture of the slip and be like look what I got. No, no, no, no,
- 2:44Speaker 1: not look what I got? Sound creepy.
- 2:46Speaker 3: No, I wouldn't say look what I got, but more
- 2:49Speaker 3: like again, like you said, no, You're lucky that it's
- 2:52Speaker 3: me that I'm the one that got it, because I'm
- 2:54Speaker 3: gonna just disregard it and toss it in the trash
- 2:57Speaker 3: after like chop it up. I'm friends with a lot
- 2:59Speaker 3: of people that live in this apartment building, but I
- 3:01Speaker 3: also don't know.
- 3:02Speaker 1: A lot of other people that live in this apartment building, so.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I like looking them up on social media also because
- 3:07Speaker 3: like I want to look up what people do for
- 3:08Speaker 3: a living. And I know this sounds ridiculous, but I'm
- 3:11Speaker 3: fascinated by the fact that people have like real job jobs.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah I do too.
- 3:17Speaker 4: It is very interesting for me to hear what other
- 3:19Speaker 4: people do in your building.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Well, especially then I look on their Facebook profile and
- 3:23Speaker 3: they're like doctors and lawyers and prosecutors and vets, and
- 3:28Speaker 3: they're very like, hush hush.
- 3:29Speaker 1: About when you like move in here. Yeah that's good. Well,
- 3:32Speaker 1: which is good. There's a lot of privacy because if
- 3:34Speaker 1: you want to research them, just go look at the packages.
- 3:37Speaker 1: So Blake's our radio friend for a long time.
- 3:39Speaker 3: It's very cool to have Blake sitting in my apartment
- 3:41Speaker 3: because I used to listen to Blake on the rail.
- 3:44Speaker 2: He ended up being one of the most awesome, kind hearted,
- 3:48Speaker 2: very just like real radio people. You don't doesn't happen
- 3:51Speaker 2: very often, seriously, very much. A great guy, cool, calm, collected,
- 3:55Speaker 2: very unlike Joel Well well you're cool but common quest.

- 4:47Speaker 4: And I told you guys before that I have not
- 4:49Speaker 4: heard the other episodes because I wanted to come in,

- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, good, Well, you you know what we have
- 5:00Speaker 3: to ask you, because we asked all our guests in

- 5:02Speaker 1: Episode what do you do? You know a lot about
- 5:04Speaker 1: Bob Holder? What do you think about him? I think
- 5:08Speaker 1: Bob is hilarious.
- 5:09Speaker 4: We don't hang out, we don't get together, but he
- 5:14Speaker 4: is a character. He's the most non sales guy sales guy, yeah,
- 5:18Speaker 4: I've ever met.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So anyway, we got to get Bob back on them.

- 16:34Speaker 3: first time watching this movie.
- 16:35Speaker 1: And I honestly I watched it.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I was like, it was good, but oh, I love
- 16:39Speaker 2: I guess if I watched it as a kid or
- 16:41Speaker 2: you know, I'm much more impressionable.
- 16:42Speaker 4: I love watching movies all the time. I just love
- 16:45Speaker 4: getting a big movie guy like engrossed in it and
- 16:47Speaker 4: lost it.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Same. Yeah, yeah, I don't have the attention span.
- 16:50Speaker 3: It doesn't allow me to My rule believe that is
- 16:52Speaker 3: my rule with movies is that I'll only watch it
- 16:55Speaker 3: if it's an hour and a half or less.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it cuts out a lot of movies.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Basically like with seth rogen in it. Question two, okay,
- 17:06Speaker 3: category food and stuff. What spice is known as the
- 17:11Speaker 3: King of Spices and it's native to southwest India?
- 17:18Speaker 1: Is it curry? No, that's logical. The answer is black pepper.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Believe I do know.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Oh shit, I don't want to click that. I wanted
- 17:26Speaker 3: to click this one. I'll take the first one, black pepper.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Boy.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I know we're not keeping score or anything, but I
- 17:34Speaker 3: think I got all my questions right, and you've gotten
- 17:36Speaker 3: all yours.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Wrong so far as question three.
- 17:43Speaker 3: In nineteen seventy three, this soda went by the nickname
- 17:49Speaker 3: the Uncola.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I know it tak him a hint?
- 17:54Speaker 4: Yeah, how about a hint? Well, think about what cola
- 17:59Speaker 4: looks like. This is the uncola, the opposite, So like
- 18:06Speaker 4: a cola is a darker soda. Was it sprite or
- 18:10Speaker 4: seven up?
- 18:10Speaker 1: It is seven up? All right? Very good, very good,
- 18:14Speaker 1: very good. Thanks for the hent. You're around in nineteen
- 18:18Speaker 1: seventy three, right barely.
- 18:20Speaker 4: I was still in diapers, but I remember drinking the
- 18:23Speaker 4: uncola because it was that for a while.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you drank that while you were in diapers. No
- 18:28Speaker 1: Question four twenty what okay? Fast food? Taco Bell? What?
- 18:38Speaker 3: No, let's not Taco Bell? Fast food? Man, I tell
- 18:40Speaker 3: you what fast food is like my obsession.
- 18:44Speaker 1: It's bad.
- 18:44Speaker 3: I had McDonald's last night, had Wendy's today because it's
- 18:48Speaker 3: just always it's like the fuck. Which We're going to
- 18:51Speaker 3: talk about fast food later. I want to get your
- 18:52Speaker 3: opinion on something in regards to fast food. But anyway,
- 18:55Speaker 3: here's your fast food question. Name the restaurant founded in
- 18:59Speaker 3: nineteen twenty one in Wichita, Kansas. That's considered to be
- 19:05Speaker 3: the oldest fast food hamburger chain. Name the restaurant founded
- 19:14Speaker 3: in nineteen twenty one in Wichita, Kansas, that's considered to
- 19:19Speaker 3: be the oldest fast food hamburger chain.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Is White Castle.
- 19:29Speaker 3: That's to consider them a burger joint. I mean, even
- 19:31Speaker 3: though like they're known for their sliders, what we don't
- 19:34Speaker 3: consider them. It's not like somewhere I think to go
- 19:36Speaker 3: to bert Berger.
- 19:37Speaker 1: That's all. I've never had White Castle. It's probably best
- 19:40Speaker 1: knowing your bathroom.
- 19:41Speaker 4: I went back like a couple of weeks ago, like, oh,
- 19:44Speaker 4: I haven't had this in a while. That used to
- 19:46Speaker 4: be awesome, Like I used to get a hanker and
- 19:48Speaker 4: to go there.
- 19:49Speaker 1: I went back and I'm like, oh no, yeah, yeah.
- 19:51Speaker 3: The other thing that I've never had fast food was again,
- 19:53Speaker 3: I love fast food. I'll be the first one I
- 19:55Speaker 3: meant fast food Alfacino over here. I'm getting fast food
- 19:57Speaker 3: all the time. Shake Shack, which I just saw, didn't
- 19:59Speaker 3: you post so on Facebook? You were just a shake shack.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 4: My son got to pick where he wanted to go
- 20:03Speaker 4: for his birthday dinner and he shake Shack and I
- 20:07Speaker 4: was like, all right, dude, that's where you want to
- 20:08Speaker 4: go and how was your shake shack experience? It's all right, yeah,
- 20:12Speaker 4: like your average fast food burger there for smash burgers, right,
- 20:15Speaker 4: they're really thin, thin, They have a fried breaded pickles,
- 20:20Speaker 4: really good with the sauce.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I'm not a pickle guy. You're not a pickle guy.
- 20:23Speaker 1: My dad's a pickle head. Apparently, the go ahead. If
- 20:28Speaker 1: you're lost, they probably are too. They'll blazed and confused podcast.
- 20:34Speaker 3: All right, So, speaking of fast food, Jesus is love.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Ok I went to a fast food establishment about a
- 20:43Speaker 3: month ago. You know, we won't name them or anything,
- 20:45Speaker 3: but I'll tell you what rhymes with lick Donald's.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, So anyway, I pulled my ritual post.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Gig post, any gig post, playing in a band, post
- 20:55Speaker 3: doing a wedding, anything, I gotta get like fast food
- 20:57Speaker 3: at midnight or one o'clock in the morning. I got
- 20:59Speaker 3: a through the drive through and get like, you know,
- 21:01Speaker 3: a double quarter pounder with cheese and a ten piece
- 21:04Speaker 3: chicken nugget.
- 21:05Speaker 4: That's my thing, The double quarter pounder with cheese. Ya,
- 21:08Speaker 4: that's my favorite thing there.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Anyway, So I pull in the drive through, there's a
- 21:13Speaker 3: long ass line That's the one thing I'll say now
- 21:15Speaker 3: is like I don't think fast food is necessarily fast
- 21:18Speaker 3: at all anymore. It's just not like they ought to
- 21:22Speaker 3: call it not so fast food because it's really when's
- 21:24Speaker 3: the last time you had fast food and you thought, wow,
- 21:26Speaker 3: I actually got this fast.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Not to sound like a bitch, but I was pretty good.
- 21:32Speaker 3: No, no, Well, and here's the thing though, I remember
- 21:35Speaker 3: not that long ago when fast food really was fast. Yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 3: suddenly it has gone downhill. It seems like post COVID,
- 21:42Speaker 3: you know, absolutely, which I get it.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Huh.
- 21:44Speaker 3: They're making ship money, you know, I go, I understand. However, people,
- 21:49Speaker 3: well this is the problem. So let me tell you.
- 21:51Speaker 3: So I go through the drive through about a month
- 21:53Speaker 3: ago after a wedding. Starvin got the dog in the car,
- 21:55Speaker 3: and everything is my parents watch the dog. So the
- 21:57Speaker 3: dog's fucking going nuts. We're waiting in the drive through
- 22:00Speaker 3: for a long time, probably like twenty minutes if I
- 22:03Speaker 3: had a guess. Then I finally get to the little
- 22:06Speaker 3: kiosk thing where you order. Are you ordering on the
- 22:08Speaker 3: McDonald's app? No, well, then you'd sit there and you
- 22:11Speaker 3: wait even longer. Right then finally she comes back after
- 22:14Speaker 3: five minutes and she goes, uh, can I take your order?
- 22:16Speaker 3: And I said yeah, I'll take a double quarter pounder
- 22:19Speaker 3: with cheese. She goes okay, yeah, hang on one second,
- 22:21Speaker 3: and then it was like another five minutes after she
- 22:24Speaker 3: said hang on, I'm thinking what is going on here?
- 22:26Speaker 1: So finally she comes.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Back then and she goes, okay, yeah, a big mac,
- 22:31Speaker 3: and I'm like, no, I said a double quarter pound
- 22:34Speaker 3: of the trees. Long pause, and then she goes, yeah,
- 22:36Speaker 3: next time, you can just say a number five and
- 22:40Speaker 3: said exactly like that.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I could not believe it, dude, she said it exactly
- 22:44Speaker 1: like there.
- 22:44Speaker 3: She was like, yeah, you can just say a number
- 22:46Speaker 3: five next time. And then I pulled up and honestly,
- 22:49Speaker 3: like they didn't even say anything to you anymore, even
- 22:51Speaker 3: like today I got Wendy's today, she didn't say anything
- 22:54Speaker 3: to me, no, like have a good day, no ooh,
- 22:57Speaker 3: what can I get for you?
- 22:58Speaker 1: Like nobody's like chipper and happy, and like no customer
- 23:01Speaker 1: service does no FREMI on that anymo. I know when
- 23:05Speaker 1: was the marker of it going downhill? Covid covid you
- 23:08Speaker 1: think I think after that, they're like, we don't give
- 23:10Speaker 1: a fuck.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Yeah, and again, Like I hate to throw shade because
- 23:14Speaker 3: I'd be saying the same shit if I worked there. However,
- 23:18Speaker 3: I don't know. I feel like I worked in food
- 23:20Speaker 3: not that long ago. When I finally pulled up to
- 23:22Speaker 3: the window at McDonald's with this girl. She had her
- 23:24Speaker 3: AirPods in like she was listening to freaking music the
- 23:27Speaker 3: whole time. Dude, we would get our asses handed to
- 23:30Speaker 3: us or the restaurants I worked at if we did that,
- 23:32Speaker 3: I don't know. I feel like there's just a different
- 23:34Speaker 3: standard now. Yes, anyway, I throw it. I thought I
- 23:36Speaker 3: would hurt today. I was at a rock concert last night.
- 23:41Speaker 3: I was hooting and hollering. Joe Joel played last night
- 23:45Speaker 3: with the Craig Thatcher band. Oh yeah, at Amass Community Park.
- 23:50Speaker 1: But it was really fun.
- 23:51Speaker 2: It was a great show. Uh, they were rocking. It
- 23:54Speaker 2: was really a really great time. We were singing along
- 23:56Speaker 2: and I love the people dancing.
- 23:58Speaker 1: In the front. Dude. Yeah, there was people having the
- 24:00Speaker 1: time of their life there, like really moving their bodies,
- 24:03Speaker 1: like really really really shaking it.
- 24:05Speaker 2: How about that lady that had a dog in her
- 24:07Speaker 2: backpack and that couldn't wait to meet you last night?
- 24:10Speaker 1: Is that a listener? I don't know. Oh, I have
- 24:13Speaker 1: no idea.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I saw her coming up with this dog in her backpack,
- 24:15Speaker 2: and then she got to the front of the stage
- 24:17Speaker 2: and like turned her back to show the dog to Joel.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I don't know if no, no, no. She dropped a
- 24:21Speaker 1: gift on the stage for me. Oh what did she
- 24:23Speaker 1: give you? She Oh, this thing.
- 24:25Speaker 3: It's a keyholder, but it's like a jeep Oh that's cool. Right, Yeah,
- 24:29Speaker 3: I'm gonna hang this up.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I like this a lot.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't have enough on the walls. I always
- 24:33Speaker 2: thought about, Yeah, how you could have more things on
- 24:35Speaker 2: the walls.
- 24:36Speaker 1: So this is the thing about my apartment. I don't know. Yes,
- 24:38Speaker 1: there's like seventy five pictures on the wall. I like
- 24:41Speaker 1: stuff to look at. I always have. I wanted to
- 24:44Speaker 1: be like the Joel Museum when you're in here. That's
- 24:46Speaker 1: the thing in this biziness, you get that stuff. Yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I have a Nirvana platinum album up on my way.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I love that. Does it have your name on it
- 24:54Speaker 1: or does it have Zeezi on it? I could have
- 24:56Speaker 1: gotten my name on it. I didn't know that till after,
- 24:58Speaker 1: so that kind of sucks.
- 24:59Speaker 4: But you're right, it's like that's the coolest thing on
- 25:01Speaker 4: my wall and I still look at it and I'm
- 25:03Speaker 4: like that.
- 25:04Speaker 1: You know, I enjoy that. That's number one. Just feel
- 25:06Speaker 1: like radio people typically have a lot of cool stuff. Yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 1: eight x ten's.
- 25:10Speaker 4: You have autographs with the bands and you know, and
- 25:12Speaker 4: stuff like that. Some of them are signed, some of
- 25:14Speaker 4: them are not. I don't even care if they're signed
- 25:15Speaker 4: or not. I prefer the ones where it was a
- 25:18Speaker 4: real moment and I remember meeting them and what we
- 25:20Speaker 4: talked about and how cool they were, and it's just photos.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, mostly not really stuff. What's your item's
- 25:26Speaker 1: biggest starstruck moment. Wow, that's a good question, because I
- 25:30Speaker 1: feel like too.
- 25:30Speaker 3: You were working in radio in the heyday of you know,
- 25:33Speaker 3: the artists came to town, they stopped by the radio
- 25:35Speaker 3: station like they had to, you know what I mean.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Like a lot because crock rock was at its peak
- 25:40Speaker 4: and it was the place to play for a lot
- 25:42Speaker 4: of like mid level bands that were known but not huge,
- 25:46Speaker 4: and they were accessible and every single one of them
- 25:48Speaker 4: would come into the studio for an interview that day
- 25:51Speaker 4: and then go to soundcheck or whatever. I like doing interviews,
- 25:55Speaker 4: and I guess the program director at the time thought
- 25:56Speaker 4: I did a good job because I would get them all,
- 25:58Speaker 4: so I did a lot. I don't know about starstruck,
- 26:01Speaker 4: but Dave Mustaine was a little intimidating. Yeah yeah, nice
- 26:04Speaker 4: guy but really smart, really sharp, but his whole presence
- 26:08Speaker 4: he was just really intimidating. Not really starstruck by anything.
- 26:12Speaker 4: But can you be starstruck if you're on the phone
- 26:14Speaker 4: with somebody and you're just shitting bricks and you're.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Like, yeah, oh. I was like that with Dan Ackroyd. Okay.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Then Henry Rollins because I'm a huge fan.
- 26:22Speaker 4: I have all his books, you know, I've seen his
- 26:24Speaker 4: spoken word thing probably like eight times over the years,
- 26:27Speaker 4: and I couldn't tell if he thought it was a
- 26:29Speaker 4: good interview or not. He was gracious and he you know,
- 26:32Speaker 4: thoughtfully answered all the questions, but it was on the
- 26:35Speaker 4: phone and I was sweating.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Yeah, what about you?
- 26:37Speaker 3: Joe Lindsay Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac was cool. Oh man,
- 26:40Speaker 3: he's really cool.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I remember the first time that I had my like
- 26:44Speaker 3: classic meet and greet, like the radio station meeting greet.
- 26:47Speaker 3: There's not a lot of meeting and not a lot
- 26:48Speaker 3: of greeting. You wait in line, you wait in line,
- 26:50Speaker 3: You wait in line some more, You get up there,
- 26:52Speaker 3: you have your twenty seconds of wow, this is fucking cool,
- 26:55Speaker 3: You shake their hand, you to take a picture, and
- 26:58Speaker 3: you're on your way. My interaction with artists is never
- 27:00Speaker 3: on like a personal level enough of interviewing them for
- 27:04Speaker 3: the most part.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Yet you know, like you again, you know, radio is
- 27:07Speaker 1: very different now.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it's very different now than when I was listening
- 27:11Speaker 3: to Again, this is cool to have fucking Blake in mind.
- 27:13Speaker 4: I mean, i'd be on the day since they're in
- 27:15Speaker 4: the studio and they're going to crock rock right after
- 27:18Speaker 4: it was afternoon drive, but I'd have him in there
- 27:20Speaker 4: for like close to an hour, yeah, forty five minutes.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yeah, just live like no one's like wrap it up,
- 27:25Speaker 1: wrap it up.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I think one of the best scenarios
- 27:29Speaker 2: where I'm at a celebrity. I was really excited to
- 27:31Speaker 2: meet Rivers Cuomo of school. Yeah, and he was so
- 27:35Speaker 2: awkward when I met him. Really, I have this funny memory,
- 27:39Speaker 2: like he came out and they just got off stage.
- 27:41Speaker 2: We were back with a bunch of listeners and we
- 27:43Speaker 2: were doing like a whole thing. He comes out and
- 27:45Speaker 2: he's got this sweater that he was wearing on stage,
- 27:47Speaker 2: and he was like, I don't know how should I
- 27:49Speaker 2: wear this sweater. Should I like put it around my
- 27:51Speaker 2: waist or should I put it over like a scholar
- 27:53Speaker 2: around his neck, you know that kind of thing.
- 27:54Speaker 1: And I was like, I don't know, man, where the
- 27:56Speaker 1: hell you want to wear it?
- 27:58Speaker 2: We really concerned about how he was gonna wear his
- 28:01Speaker 2: sweater for these photos.
- 28:02Speaker 1: That was just really funny to me, Chester Bennington. That
- 28:05Speaker 1: was starstruck.
- 28:06Speaker 4: You'd think the things you're gonna say, and then you
- 28:08Speaker 4: get up there, thank you, just kind of move along.
- 28:11Speaker 4: It was, you know, it was a meet and Greek
- 28:12Speaker 4: kind of situation. Yeah, but it was the first night
- 28:15Speaker 4: of the tour when he was with stp Wow, just
- 28:19Speaker 4: completing that tour, and the first night other than like
- 28:22Speaker 4: a warm up show in La was in Bethlehem. That
- 28:25Speaker 4: was cool and it was just for a moment, I
- 28:27Speaker 4: got a photo, shook his hand, and I'd say that's
- 28:29Speaker 4: probably the only starstruck one, just because you know, he's
- 28:32Speaker 4: so awesome.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Dan Ackroyd called the radio station one time and he
- 28:35Speaker 2: called a day early and at the time, Michaels and
- 28:38Speaker 2: Lane were the morning show and they were supposed to
- 28:40Speaker 2: do an interview with him on the phone, and the
- 28:43Speaker 2: phone was ringing, right, the hotline was going off, and
- 28:45Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, I'll go grab it. So I
- 28:47Speaker 2: pick up the phone and he goes, hey, dan Ackroyd
- 28:49Speaker 2: for Michaels and Lane and I was like what And
- 28:53Speaker 2: he goes dan Ackroyd for Michaels and Lane and I
- 28:56Speaker 2: was like, you fucking kidding me? Anyway, he laughed, he
- 29:01Speaker 2: was like really cool, and then he kept talking more
- 29:05Speaker 2: and dan Ackroyd has such a specific voice, you know
- 29:07Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 29:08Speaker 1: And then I was like, holy shit, this is really
- 29:10Speaker 1: fucking dank.
- 29:11Speaker 2: And I told him that I was a huge fan
- 29:13Speaker 2: of apologies for nerding out for a second, but I'm
- 29:15Speaker 2: the Ghostbusters for Christ's sake.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Growing up. That was huge to me.
- 29:19Speaker 3: You know, I don't know movies enough that like, okay,
- 29:23Speaker 3: you said Ghostbusters, but dan Ackroyd, I'm drawing a blank,
- 29:27Speaker 3: Like what else should I know from dan Ackroyd? You
- 29:29Speaker 3: ever watched Tommy Boy No Saturday Night Live here? Why
- 29:32Speaker 3: don't you go through This would be a fun little game.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Why don't you go through a list of movies and
- 29:36Speaker 3: ask me if I've seen them all right, because I
- 29:40Speaker 3: guarantee you there's not a lot. Oh man, I'll tell
- 29:42Speaker 3: you the movies I have seen that. I really like
- 29:44Speaker 3: Toy Story Titanic.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Which is unbelievable because it's like four hours long. Like Titanic,
- 29:52Speaker 1: that's a great movie. I agree with you on that.
- 29:55Speaker 1: What else? The boy in the stripe pajamas.
- 29:57Speaker 3: I don't know why that comes up when I watched
- 30:00Speaker 3: that recently and I thought, Okay, this is a great movie.
- 30:03Speaker 2: How about like, you know, iconic movies like The Godfather. Here,
- 30:08Speaker 2: that's what we'll do.
- 30:11Speaker 3: The Shawshank Redemption. I think I tried to once, but
- 30:15Speaker 3: I fell asleep. Never got back to that one after
- 30:18Speaker 3: that one. Now The Dark Knight. The Dark Knight, oh
- 30:21Speaker 3: with Heath Ledger. Yeah, yeah, that came out when I
- 30:24Speaker 3: was like in the fourth grade.
- 30:25Speaker 1: That was a big deal. I probably didn't see The
- 30:27Speaker 1: Godfather Part two, I take it. Now. Pulp fiction. How
- 30:32Speaker 1: about Schindler's List. That's the guy from Taking Right.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Yeah, Liam, I always get him and Leslie Nielson and
- 30:43Speaker 2: Leslie Nielsen's like my comedic icon naked naked gun guy
- 30:48Speaker 2: Liam Neeson and Liam Leslie Nielson.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Leslie Nielson lesbian what Leslie Nielson? Have you seen Airplane?
- 30:55Speaker 1: Have you seen them?
- 30:57Speaker 3: How about Forrest Gump? Love Forrest Gump. That's another movie
- 31:00Speaker 3: I love, okay because there's great music in it. Oh yeah, great, great.
- 31:04Speaker 3: That's the only thing I remember watching that first off.
- 31:06Speaker 3: I remember watching that for the first time when I
- 31:08Speaker 3: was in like the third grade, and that's kind of
- 31:09Speaker 3: the first time that I saw like boobs for the
- 31:12Speaker 3: first time, and it's like, oh, whoa.
- 31:14Speaker 1: And I also remember when it was on television.
- 31:16Speaker 3: When it was on TV, there would always be like
- 31:18Speaker 3: scenes where my parents would be like, you have to
- 31:20Speaker 3: go in the other room.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Watching this part of it. And then I also remember.
- 31:25Speaker 3: That we had it on VHS, and that would be
- 31:29Speaker 3: one of the movies that I would watch all the
- 31:31Speaker 3: time as a little kid. And you could like pause
- 31:33Speaker 3: it at just the right point that when she took
- 31:36Speaker 3: her bra off in the one scene where it's like
- 31:39Speaker 3: raining outside and he runs into her dorm, she takes
- 31:41Speaker 3: her shirt off and then she takes her bra off.
- 31:43Speaker 3: You could posit it just the right car and you'd
- 31:46Speaker 3: see like just the outline of her nipple, just the outline, and.
- 31:49Speaker 4: It was just all you need is all you needed.
- 31:52Speaker 4: My experience with that was Phoebe Kate's Fast Times.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Have you ever seen that? I've seen that movie. I
- 31:59Speaker 1: like that, I have. It's an a movie. It's a
- 32:01Speaker 1: great movie.
- 32:02Speaker 2: What about Star Wars? Oh my god, I don't like
- 32:05Speaker 2: Fight Club Step Brothers. How about The Green Mile? Oh yeah,
- 32:12Speaker 2: with John Coffee, I've seen that one.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Emmett Otter's jug band Christmas never heard of it. I've
- 32:17Speaker 4: never heard of that either.
- 32:19Speaker 1: We'll talk later. It's awesome. That's awesome. It's real. It's awesome.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Nail and Paling Terminator, Terminator too, the better one. Back
- 32:29Speaker 1: to the Future. Oh yeah, I love that movie. Did
- 32:31Speaker 1: you watch all of them? Uh? Yeah, I think show.
- 32:33Speaker 1: I only really remember the first one though. That's all
- 32:35Speaker 1: you need to know. Man. Anyway, it was so cool
- 32:38Speaker 1: to have Blake Dan and you know, I remember Stripper Tuesday.
- 32:40Speaker 1: That was actually not my idea.
- 32:42Speaker 4: I mean I was the first and only person to
- 32:44Speaker 4: do that, but uh, you would think it would have
- 32:46Speaker 4: been my idea, yes, because that was like trying to
- 32:48Speaker 4: use my powers for evil any chance I could get. Yeah,
- 32:51Speaker 4: but that was actually my program director's idea. She was like,
- 32:54Speaker 4: what do you think yes, I'll do it, you know,
- 32:57Speaker 4: but that just kind of gave me the idea of
- 32:59Speaker 4: having them in. But I think I came up with
- 33:02Speaker 4: the stripper trivia part of it. Unbelievably hard questions, like
- 33:05Speaker 4: ridiculously hard questions that no one would know. You get
- 33:08Speaker 4: it wrong. You got to take an item of clothing off. Yeah,
- 33:11Speaker 4: and I'm throwing like it was super easy one once
- 33:12Speaker 4: in a while, and sometimes they'd still get those wrong,
- 33:14Speaker 4: which was hilarious and uh yeah, just you know, get
- 33:16Speaker 4: them naked in the studio.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Fun fact, back in the day, when I was younger
- 33:20Speaker 2: and when that was going on, I used to watch
- 33:22Speaker 2: these Ezio webcam that used to be on remember that
- 33:25Speaker 2: thing and now on Stripper Tuesday they would put a
- 33:27Speaker 2: sign in front of it so you couldn't watch it,
- 33:28Speaker 2: but I try.
- 33:30Speaker 3: I would try to sign in front of it. I
- 33:31Speaker 3: would try anyway, Zeezio had a webcam. That's pretty fucking yeah,
- 33:35Speaker 3: I forgot so it'd be one of four.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I remember, such a radio nerd and loved it and
- 33:39Speaker 1: just wanted to be and see into that world.
- 33:40Speaker 3: You know.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Ninety nine percent of the times it was just boring
- 33:43Speaker 1: as hell. Yeah, but you couldn't see on Stripper Tuesday.
- 33:47Speaker 1: I had a lot of fun times. Yeah, I was
- 33:48Speaker 1: there ninety six to two thousand and six a decade,
- 33:52Speaker 1: the first two years and nights and then eight years
- 33:54Speaker 1: in afternoon drive. So I'm proud of it.
- 33:56Speaker 4: I'm proud to be, you know, part of the legacy
- 34:00Speaker 4: of that radio station, because I mean, what is it now,
- 34:02Speaker 4: forty years as a rock Station's that's great, cool, And
- 34:05Speaker 4: I'm proud of you, Joel.
- 34:07Speaker 1: You are in that lineage. Now we're in the same list.
- 34:10Speaker 1: But let me tell you. The first time I met
- 34:12Speaker 1: you talk about Starstruck. The first time I met Blake,
- 34:15Speaker 1: it was Becker's fault. I've had a different job.
- 34:17Speaker 4: I'm not in radio anymore in the Lehigh Valley, and
- 34:20Speaker 4: I was just driving by and I'm oh, the middle
- 34:22Speaker 4: of the day. Part of my job is driving around
- 34:25Speaker 4: to different businesses. So I'll stop in and say hi,
- 34:27Speaker 4: you know, to Becker, and he's like, oh, I got
- 34:29Speaker 4: somebody that wants to meet you. I'm like, okay, cool.
- 34:32Speaker 4: We go in the studio, Joel's there and he's like,
- 34:34Speaker 4: oh my god, I'm so glad to meet you. He's like,
- 34:36Speaker 4: I grew up listening to you, but that made me
- 34:41Speaker 4: feel old. But then I said, oh, on zz oh
- 34:44Speaker 4: because that was the earlier station. Yeah, He's like no, no, no,
- 34:47Speaker 4: on this one more recent times, and I was like, wow,
- 34:51Speaker 4: how old are you?
- 34:52Speaker 3: You know?
- 34:52Speaker 1: And I told you like, you know, numerous times since then.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I'm so proud of you. Thank you, mam. I appreciate it.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Yeah, one of the coolest guys in the business. Blake
- 34:59Speaker 2: dan In, thanks so much for joining us today. Thanks guys,
- 35:02Speaker 2: thanks for hanging That was fun. Hope it didn't butt
- 35:04Speaker 2: in too much.
- 35:04Speaker 1: I like the games.
- 35:05Speaker 3: You need to go home and listen to the first
- 35:06Speaker 3: episode and listen to how Bob Holder. But I had
- 35:09Speaker 3: to tell him multiple times that if he wanted to talk,
- 35:12Speaker 3: he needed to raise.
- 35:13Speaker 1: His hand, you know, like a toddler. That's how we
- 35:17Speaker 1: did it. Blake again, thank you so much for coming on.
- 35:19Speaker 1: That was fun. Episode four of the books. Yeah, how
- 35:22Speaker 1: can people find you?
- 35:23Speaker 3: So you're still on the radio, And I mean, don't
- 35:25Speaker 3: don't cut yourself short here, You're still a radio guy.
