- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:10Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes nine hundred and nine to nine eleven.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Never Forget mysterious grave markers, a reunion at the ruins
- 0:23Speaker 1: of Odin Castle, a legendary samurai, the man who Roger admired,
- 0:29Speaker 1: and bringing down the Emperor of the Sea. A secret
- 0:34Speaker 1: raid operation begins. In these episodes, we find out that
- 0:41Speaker 1: some of our friends feel like anachronisms because they are
- 0:46Speaker 1: literally time travelers. I did not see that one coming,
- 0:51Speaker 1: I must confess. Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome to the
- 1:15Speaker 1: show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you very much to
- 1:18Speaker 1: Florian for commissioning this episode. So, yeah, you guys what
- 1:27Speaker 1: I I am really confused as to why the lady
- 1:35Speaker 1: who sends them forward in time decides it's time for
- 1:41Speaker 1: her to die. Like, honestly, it's not even really clear
- 1:46Speaker 1: that she's I think she just says, like, I have
- 1:49Speaker 1: to let fate decide. She says something that's sort of
- 1:52Speaker 1: vague enough that it could potentially be that she is
- 1:56Speaker 1: still alive and that she did time travel. But as
- 2:01Speaker 1: of right now, it's looking very much like we just
- 2:04Speaker 1: sent only these guys and she stayed behind to burn
- 2:07Speaker 1: to death, and I just want to know why. I
- 2:09Speaker 1: don't feel like that's helpful to anyone. I don't feel
- 2:14Speaker 1: like we needed to do that. But I don't also
- 2:19Speaker 1: don't really have a good understanding of how her power works.
- 2:23Speaker 1: So I'm not going to, you know, So let's see,
- 2:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna pull this guy up and uh to mysterious
- 2:37Speaker 1: grave markers. So this episode, it's very funny because the
- 2:42Speaker 1: way it's played, it's it's obviously Trafalgar Law behaving as
- 2:50Speaker 1: if he has some very serious news to impart to Lufy.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I hate to be the one that has to tell you,
- 2:59Speaker 1: but and he is just lowering his voice and hesitating,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and it obviously sounds like all your friends are dead.
- 3:10Speaker 1: That's what it sounds like. Come to find out that
- 3:14Speaker 1: is not the case. And Loufy just like yells at
- 3:18Speaker 1: Law and it's just like you fucking do that on purpose, dude,
- 3:21Speaker 1: And Law, I'm really trying to decide because Law is like,
- 3:25Speaker 1: what gave you that idea? And I can't decide if
- 3:29Speaker 1: Law is purposely fucking with Loofy or if he was
- 3:33Speaker 1: just being like thoughtless and doesn't realize what it was
- 3:38Speaker 1: he was doing. I like that, like, I like to
- 3:41Speaker 1: think that he did it on purpose because Lufy has
- 3:43Speaker 1: fucked up his day and his plan, and he is
- 3:47Speaker 1: essentially going all right, bet if you want to fuck
- 3:51Speaker 1: things up too, can play that game. And I wouldn't
- 3:54Speaker 1: even really be mad about it, because it's not like
- 3:57Speaker 1: he would go on letting Loofy think that they were
- 3:59Speaker 1: dead for a long time. It's cleared up pretty quickly.
- 4:02Speaker 1: But yeah, I just thought that that approach was quite funny.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Florian says yep Oda was like, hmm, I've not done
- 4:14Speaker 1: time travel yet, which like it should have occurred to me.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Saraphim says it was only about twenty years, so not
- 4:20Speaker 1: long enough for that to be why they feel anachronistic.
- 4:23Speaker 1: It was a joke, Seraphim. It was a little jokey joke.
- 4:27Speaker 1: That's just a joke. But this was hinted at back
- 4:33Speaker 1: in Zah with Momo making an offhand comment about having
- 4:37Speaker 1: met gold d Roger. For all the stress Lufy put
- 4:40Speaker 1: him under, Law deserves a chance to fuck with him. Yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 1: I fully agree. I think that I really think it
- 4:46Speaker 1: has to be on purpose, but Law is just so
- 4:50Speaker 1: deadpan about it that I don't. I really genuinely can't tell.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I am. I would rather it be on purpose because
- 5:00Speaker 1: I like the idea of it, but I truly can't
- 5:04Speaker 1: say what's the intention in that moment, which I actually
- 5:09Speaker 1: kind of like when it's not totally clear. So I'm
- 5:16Speaker 1: getting a little bit ahead of myself because our friends
- 5:19Speaker 1: are heading up to see these grave markers, and on
- 5:23Speaker 1: the way, everybody sort of reacts like there's this vibe.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry, do you guys hear that? I thought that
- 5:36Speaker 1: was my dog? Everybody is sort of like sensing something
- 5:44Speaker 1: that is out in the jungle. There's the face of
- 5:49Speaker 1: a tiger with this weird one eye looks like it's missing,
- 5:56Speaker 1: and it's shining red light, and I don't like Zoro
- 6:06Speaker 1: takes off to deal with this thing. I'm sorry, it
- 6:11Speaker 1: is my dog. I'm just messaging my husband real quick
- 6:16Speaker 1: because I think that he tried to lay down and
- 6:19Speaker 1: leave her in the living room and she is going
- 6:22Speaker 1: to whine and cry louder and louder until it gets
- 6:24Speaker 1: on my recording and I am not interested. So anyway,
- 6:29Speaker 1: Zorro goes and deals with this. It's a tiger, right,
- 6:33Speaker 1: and I do not know what its deal is, but
- 6:37Speaker 1: I do know that this moment of him going to
- 6:40Speaker 1: deal with it leads him into the woods and then
- 6:44Speaker 1: we do not see a hide nor hair of him again.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And when I say that, we the viewers see him,
- 6:50Speaker 1: but he has like totally departed from Lufy's crew. And
- 6:54Speaker 1: I couldn't help but find it funny that, like everybody
- 6:57Speaker 1: else has reunited and we're having the lovely moment where
- 7:01Speaker 1: we're with our friends again finally after all this time,
- 7:04Speaker 1: and Zorro's not here, and when they start talking about
- 7:07Speaker 1: their big plan and how they like are really relieved
- 7:10Speaker 1: to have the straw Hats involved, Loofy says something like,
- 7:16Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but I don't think Zorrow's going to be
- 7:20Speaker 1: around for this one. He just really like Zorro's been
- 7:25Speaker 1: gone what feels like maybe in the in the universe's time,
- 7:31Speaker 1: maybe an hour, but Loofy has just already decided to
- 7:38Speaker 1: count him out of this entire operation. And you know,
- 7:44Speaker 1: a part of me feels like you're really jumping quickly
- 7:47Speaker 1: to him not being in the mix. Another part of me, though,
- 7:52Speaker 1: is kind of like that's probably a good call. This
- 7:56Speaker 1: dude is so unreliable that if he's like for a
- 8:00Speaker 1: little while, perhaps it would be best simply count him
- 8:04Speaker 1: out and just move on without him, because we have
- 8:08Speaker 1: no idea how long it'll be before he turns up again.
- 8:12Speaker 1: And like, if he does turn up again, that'll be great,
- 8:14Speaker 1: super helpful, glad to see you, you know, really missed you, buddy.
- 8:19Speaker 1: But nobody, like there's no moment of maybe we should
- 8:23Speaker 1: go after him, maybe we should find out what's happening
- 8:27Speaker 1: with him. It is purely uh, I don't think he's
- 8:30Speaker 1: gonna be around for this one. And I was just like, Wow,
- 8:33Speaker 1: that was really quick that we jumped to that conclusion.
- 8:38Speaker 1: And honestly, I was surprised at how little within these
- 8:42Speaker 1: three episodes is really going on with him, because like,
- 8:45Speaker 1: he deals with this tiger and then he gets distracted
- 8:48Speaker 1: and hops on this boat, and I'm like, Zoro, you
- 8:52Speaker 1: know that you were just supposed to deal with this
- 8:54Speaker 1: tiger and come back. What is it that you think
- 8:57Speaker 1: you're doing, like genuinely asking what's your objective? Does he
- 9:01Speaker 1: think this is going to bring him back to the
- 9:03Speaker 1: wrist of the crew faster? Because you have to know
- 9:06Speaker 1: that's not what's gonna happen. Why would you think that
- 9:09Speaker 1: they are nowhere near water up there, and even if
- 9:12Speaker 1: they were, it's not going to be flowing uphill. That's
- 9:16Speaker 1: not how that would happen. It's a really he's just
- 9:23Speaker 1: thinking a lot less than I'm even used to, and
- 9:25Speaker 1: he's kind of a himbo to begin with. So yeah,
- 9:32Speaker 1: we kind of depart quickly from there to a moment
- 9:37Speaker 1: with this teacher. She has got these yellow eyes. Honestly,
- 9:45Speaker 1: I am curious. I would love a head count for
- 9:49Speaker 1: how many like characters in one piece have yellow eyes
- 9:54Speaker 1: like this. I feel like it's a really infrequently seen thing.
- 9:59Speaker 1: And and I don't know if it's purely the eyes
- 10:02Speaker 1: or if it's the eyes paired with her hair, but
- 10:06Speaker 1: she is unnerving, and there's also this like creepy smile
- 10:11Speaker 1: that's just sort of hanging out on her face a
- 10:13Speaker 1: lot of the time, very much giving Nikki from obsession.
- 10:18Speaker 1: And I didn't care for any of this. She is
- 10:22Speaker 1: teaching a bunch of children, and the point of this
- 10:27Speaker 1: scene is for us to get to see how the
- 10:30Speaker 1: propaganda works in Bakura Town. The story that these kids
- 10:36Speaker 1: are told about how there were these like awful invaders
- 10:41Speaker 1: who were flought off and we were rescued from the
- 10:45Speaker 1: bad people by this heroic you know. It's the way
- 10:52Speaker 1: that it's set up as well. The look on her
- 10:55Speaker 1: face is really feeling like she knows perfectly well, this
- 10:59Speaker 1: is bullshit. It's definitely got a diabolical look to it
- 11:06Speaker 1: that makes me think that like she's enjoying watching the
- 11:11Speaker 1: kids swallow this story, you know. Ooh, Sarahim says, this
- 11:17Speaker 1: isn't Bakoura town, it's the Flower Capital. Ugh, Okay, remind me,
- 11:22Speaker 1: because okay, there's Bakura Town, there's Flower Capital, there's the
- 11:28Speaker 1: leftover's town, which name I forget, And I feel like
- 11:31Speaker 1: there comes a point later where Trafalgar Law names another
- 11:37Speaker 1: like town, because to be honest with you guys, I
- 11:42Speaker 1: keep forgetting that Wana is like the name of the country,
- 11:45Speaker 1: and that there are multiple areas within this country. So
- 11:49Speaker 1: I keep kind of behaving as if everything is only
- 11:53Speaker 1: happening in one place, which I know isn't true, because
- 11:57Speaker 1: otherwise I was like asking about this when we very
- 12:01Speaker 1: first see what our friends have been up to in
- 12:04Speaker 1: Wano and we have us up just walking around and
- 12:08Speaker 1: selling snake oil toad oil, and I was like, how
- 12:12Speaker 1: is he not gaining a reputation for being absolutely full
- 12:16Speaker 1: of shit and that nobody should deal with him, And
- 12:20Speaker 1: I was sort of feeling like word must get around, right,
- 12:25Speaker 1: But I think it is supposed to be that like
- 12:29Speaker 1: each area seems to kind of keep to itself. People
- 12:32Speaker 1: don't appear to travel between these towns all that often.
- 12:37Speaker 1: It seems like it's kind of arduous. So that makes
- 12:43Speaker 1: sense that there's like a lot more especially considering that
- 12:47Speaker 1: we're having to like gather allies and it's we don't
- 12:52Speaker 1: have a good idea of exactly how many people are
- 12:55Speaker 1: on our side. How could that possibly be true after
- 12:59Speaker 1: all this time, if it were one town and everybody
- 13:02Speaker 1: lives there, everybody must be spread out, so that it's
- 13:05Speaker 1: a real undertaking to gather everybody together and get the
- 13:11Speaker 1: information disseminated and everything. So anyway, this teacher, she has
- 13:19Speaker 1: clearly had one of the smile fruits. It has made
- 13:24Speaker 1: her snake like. Her next stretches out at one point
- 13:29Speaker 1: because one of the kids uses the name that is forbidden,
- 13:35Speaker 1: and you really get the impression because the kids are
- 13:37Speaker 1: all like cheering at the fact that she is using
- 13:41Speaker 1: her power here. It really seems like they purposely kind
- 13:47Speaker 1: of ticked her off, just to get her to do
- 13:49Speaker 1: this because they think it's fun, which I totally understand
- 13:54Speaker 1: if I were a little kid and I had a
- 13:56Speaker 1: teacher who, like when I was in first grade, my
- 14:01Speaker 1: teacher's name, my homeroom teacher's name was missus O'Connor, and
- 14:06Speaker 1: she had a hat like a coat rack, a hat
- 14:11Speaker 1: rack by the door that had several different hats on it,
- 14:17Speaker 1: and depending on the mood that she was in and
- 14:21Speaker 1: what activity we were about to do, she would grab
- 14:25Speaker 1: different hats for the moment to put on and be
- 14:29Speaker 1: kind of like in character, a little bit, just a
- 14:33Speaker 1: very minimal, but it was a nice way to sort
- 14:35Speaker 1: of establish a ritual at the start of like a
- 14:39Speaker 1: new activity. And there was one hat that was a
- 14:47Speaker 1: witch hat. And when somebody asked her about that hat
- 14:53Speaker 1: and why she never wore it, she said something like,
- 14:58Speaker 1: because you've been a class so you've never seen me
- 15:02Speaker 1: in that I haven't had to put that on for
- 15:05Speaker 1: you guys. And you could just feel in the room
- 15:11Speaker 1: how all the kids desperately now wanted to see her,
- 15:16Speaker 1: like she as good as said, you've been too well behaved,
- 15:22Speaker 1: and so you're never gonna get to see that. And
- 15:25Speaker 1: I think she said something like, and you better hope
- 15:28Speaker 1: you never do something like that. And it wasn't like
- 15:32Speaker 1: everybody just began to misbehave on purpose to get her
- 15:35Speaker 1: to put the hat on. Like it wasn't. It really wasn't,
- 15:38Speaker 1: But there was definitely a sensation of it sort of
- 15:41Speaker 1: crossing everybody's minds that like, oh, there's a whole thing
- 15:46Speaker 1: here that's extra, you know. So anyway, when you know
- 15:51Speaker 1: that there's like an adult that has a different they
- 15:57Speaker 1: have a side to them that you don't often get
- 16:00Speaker 1: to see, sort of pestering them until they let you
- 16:05Speaker 1: see it, that does strike me as a very correct
- 16:09Speaker 1: thing for kids to be doing. They just want to
- 16:13Speaker 1: push the envelope and see what they can see. And
- 16:16Speaker 1: I'm not even really like faulting them for that at all.
- 16:20Speaker 1: But Yeah, So there's a guy who's like the janitor
- 16:23Speaker 1: in the school. He's in the back of the room
- 16:27Speaker 1: listening to this whole thing and just fucking disgusted. This
- 16:33Speaker 1: guy is so irritated at the fact that they are
- 16:38Speaker 1: being fed this bullshit. And we find out later that
- 16:43Speaker 1: he is part of this overall group of rebels, allies,
- 16:49Speaker 1: whatever you want to call them. But I was sort
- 16:54Speaker 1: of like wondering, as she was teaching these kids, is
- 16:58Speaker 1: there anybody around who knows the truth who doesn't want
- 17:03Speaker 1: these kids to be learning this, because, like I said,
- 17:07Speaker 1: it felt like the teacher was sort of enjoying misinforming
- 17:11Speaker 1: these kids and watching them eat it up. And even
- 17:17Speaker 1: though this guy in that moment is just like, all
- 17:19Speaker 1: of this is false, I can't believe what they're teaching
- 17:22Speaker 1: these kids. Of course, he doesn't like challenge her or
- 17:26Speaker 1: say anything to her, because it's really obvious that, like
- 17:30Speaker 1: in the social hierarchy, that is not his place to
- 17:33Speaker 1: be speaking up or contradicting. Like, I don't know if
- 17:37Speaker 1: it would result in him being killed, but we know
- 17:40Speaker 1: that we just had Otama be like grabbed up to
- 17:43Speaker 1: be made into a fucking slave, So probably at the
- 17:48Speaker 1: very least that would occur, I would expect. And the
- 17:57Speaker 1: kids are also kind of like, I don't want to
- 18:06Speaker 1: assign too much intent to this, but I do feel
- 18:11Speaker 1: like I've got to mention that the way that the
- 18:14Speaker 1: kids themselves are animated, it feels a little bit like
- 18:19Speaker 1: we're saying what little shits they are too, And again,
- 18:25Speaker 1: I think it's just really kind of meant to be
- 18:28Speaker 1: these children are so privileged and so like comfortable and
- 18:34Speaker 1: reveling in their I don't know what the wording is
- 18:41Speaker 1: I want here reveling in their position. I suppose that
- 18:48Speaker 1: it's not exactly meant to be an indictment of the
- 18:52Speaker 1: children themselves so much as meant to be like this
- 18:56Speaker 1: is what happens when kids are taught that everything about
- 19:00Speaker 1: how they live is earned and appropriate and fair and
- 19:06Speaker 1: just according to history, and that they are going to
- 19:11Speaker 1: continue like believing this because why would they ever doubt it.
- 19:18Speaker 1: This is the thing about education and why it's so
- 19:22Speaker 1: my personal societal Like if I could fix a lot
- 19:28Speaker 1: of what I think our problems are would be to
- 19:29Speaker 1: remove a lot of the shame from getting abortions and
- 19:33Speaker 1: using birth control, and like, very close on the heels
- 19:37Speaker 1: of that is massive education reform. And it starts in
- 19:44Speaker 1: school in a way that we all know but we
- 19:46Speaker 1: don't really want to acknowledge in a real way. And
- 19:52Speaker 1: the United States is absolutely fucking unmatched for like putting
- 19:59Speaker 1: a ton of propaganda into a history book and misinforming
- 20:04Speaker 1: so deliberately and so specifically the children on how things
- 20:10Speaker 1: went down, oversimplifying to a degree that is like offensive.
- 20:14Speaker 1: There's a point where you can say their children, and
- 20:16Speaker 1: we need to make sure to make to bring things
- 20:20Speaker 1: down to a point where they understand. And I get that,
- 20:24Speaker 1: but this is not that. I'm talking about something that
- 20:28Speaker 1: feels a lot more egregious and this whole like the
- 20:38Speaker 1: what it feels like is we're watching these children get
- 20:44Speaker 1: poisoned in real time and that poison get into their
- 20:48Speaker 1: system and change them from the inside in a way
- 20:51Speaker 1: they're not even aware is happening. And that is exactly
- 20:54Speaker 1: how it goes. And it's really like I think back
- 20:58Speaker 1: to some of the things that I was taught and
- 21:01Speaker 1: how I know better now. But I know better now,
- 21:04Speaker 1: like in a way by accident. I know better now
- 21:09Speaker 1: because I managed to make friends with a variety of
- 21:13Speaker 1: people who told me things and I had enough of
- 21:17Speaker 1: a curious mind to pursue what they told me and
- 21:20Speaker 1: find out further. And if I weren't in that position,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I'm not a history major, I wouldn't be doing anything
- 21:30Speaker 1: that would put this information in my way. So if
- 21:33Speaker 1: you're not somebody who has a variety of people in
- 21:36Speaker 1: your life of different backgrounds and races and ages and whatever,
- 21:42Speaker 1: it would be very, very easy for you to never
- 21:44Speaker 1: be put in a place where you have to challenge
- 21:46Speaker 1: what you've been taught at all. And I'm not removing
- 21:53Speaker 1: the onus from the people who are like being taught
- 21:59Speaker 1: and then grow up are in a world where they
- 22:02Speaker 1: could find this information and they choose not to. I'm
- 22:05Speaker 1: not trying to make it like they hold no responsibility,
- 22:10Speaker 1: because once you get older, I do think that it's
- 22:15Speaker 1: time for you to start to like question some things,
- 22:17Speaker 1: and a lot of folks just don't do that because
- 22:20Speaker 1: it's very comfy. But I will say you have to
- 22:25Speaker 1: be convinced adequately that questioning is going to result in
- 22:31Speaker 1: a dramatically different story, or else you aren't going to
- 22:35Speaker 1: feel that questioning is really worth it, because you can
- 22:39Speaker 1: tell yourself, oh, well, I'm a cynic and I know
- 22:42Speaker 1: that there was probably more to it than this, but
- 22:44Speaker 1: it's probably basically what they told me, and just go
- 22:48Speaker 1: on your merry way and not ask any further questions
- 22:51Speaker 1: and not really be like not have a moment of
- 22:56Speaker 1: your eyes being opened and like somebody just flicked you
- 22:59Speaker 1: in the forehead. And we all have different moments with
- 23:04Speaker 1: all of Like my moment was when I finished like
- 23:08Speaker 1: the chapter three of the new Jim Crow, Great nonfiction
- 23:14Speaker 1: book about racial disparity and incarceration in the United States.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I never actually finished the whole book because just the
- 23:26Speaker 1: front end was so dense and so packed with like
- 23:31Speaker 1: tiny explosions that I just kind of stopped and had
- 23:36Speaker 1: to digest that for literally a few years. And anyway,
- 23:42Speaker 1: I know, I'm getting caught up on this, but like,
- 23:45Speaker 1: that's really what is going on here, is that this
- 23:49Speaker 1: place has been taken over by essentially what kind of
- 23:54Speaker 1: amounts to like colonizers who took the land away from
- 23:58Speaker 1: people who lived here to begin with and ousted a
- 24:02Speaker 1: ruler who cared about his people and was doing his
- 24:04Speaker 1: best to make sure that everybody was profitable and fed
- 24:09Speaker 1: and clothed, and they that they were a prosperous community.
- 24:14Speaker 1: And then they decided to industrialize and create this ghetto
- 24:21Speaker 1: sort of area where all of the poor live and
- 24:24Speaker 1: get scraps and there is no like, there's no passage
- 24:30Speaker 1: even for those poor folks to get into the wealthier
- 24:34Speaker 1: town unless they work in the wealthier town potentially. So
- 24:43Speaker 1: this is like, again, it feels so extreme when you
- 24:49Speaker 1: are watching a cartoon, but if you actually know history,
- 24:52Speaker 1: this is just literally true. It's not an exaggeration. It's
- 24:58Speaker 1: a very it's a very simplified version of the situation,
- 25:04Speaker 1: but it is still correct. So anyway, I'm gonna I'm
- 25:10Speaker 1: gonna jump over here to Uh, there's this this dude
- 25:15Speaker 1: who's telling a story. This guy has blue hair. His
- 25:20Speaker 1: name is Kiyoshiro, and I don't understand what the deal is.
- 25:27Speaker 1: So he's telling a story. He's got a really intense
- 25:34Speaker 1: hairdoo going on. There's almost a sense of like a bouffont,
- 25:39Speaker 1: but it's uh, it's still Also there's the bun happening
- 25:44Speaker 1: on the back of his head, and then the hair
- 25:46Speaker 1: is like curly in the front, and it's just there's
- 25:49Speaker 1: a very there's a lot. And this dude is like
- 25:52Speaker 1: telling a story and drinking, and as he's telling this story,
- 26:00Speaker 1: he keeps like coming close to passing out. And we've
- 26:04Speaker 1: got Robin in the room listening to the story that
- 26:08Speaker 1: he's telling. As he's saying something about like who cares
- 26:12Speaker 1: if they hear me, and he is starting to get
- 26:18Speaker 1: so drunk that he is falling asleep in the middle
- 26:22Speaker 1: of the story. I know that Robin is here to
- 26:25Speaker 1: collect some information, but I couldn't tell if the guy
- 26:30Speaker 1: sitting across from him, who is like entertaining him, is
- 26:36Speaker 1: also kind of trying to sess out what's going on
- 26:40Speaker 1: with this guy, or if he is buying this whole
- 26:44Speaker 1: story hook line and sinker. But this is when he said,
- 26:49Speaker 1: says Odin's last wife. She says one thing before her
- 26:56Speaker 1: dying breath, she utters one last sentence, and he says,
- 27:02Speaker 1: you are the moon unaware of the dawn. May or
- 27:06Speaker 1: purpose be fulfilled and cast nine shadows on the night
- 27:11Speaker 1: woven of twenty years, and you shall know the brilliance
- 27:17Speaker 1: of the dawn. And we hear this later that this
- 27:22Speaker 1: is indeed what she said. So he says, this is
- 27:25Speaker 1: a very dramatic moment. And then he stands up and
- 27:29Speaker 1: he says, do you know how the shogun interpreted this?
- 27:33Speaker 1: And this is the moment where he's got everybody on
- 27:35Speaker 1: the edge of their seat wanting to know the next
- 27:37Speaker 1: part of the story, and he literally falls asleep. I
- 27:40Speaker 1: do enjoy his animation with the redness in his cheeks
- 27:45Speaker 1: to indicate that he's really drunk. It's like got a
- 27:48Speaker 1: sort of it's the soft blush, but also with some
- 27:52Speaker 1: slashes of red in it that make it clear. This
- 27:57Speaker 1: is an intense redness in his face. And the guy
- 28:03Speaker 1: is sitting across from him, the way he's so insistent, like, hey,
- 28:06Speaker 1: please go on, tell me, tell me what happens next.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I couldn't tell if this was like a sincere, hey,
- 28:12Speaker 1: I don't I want to hear the rest of the story,
- 28:15Speaker 1: or if this is a i'm I want you to
- 28:18Speaker 1: give me information. And I was so close to getting
- 28:21Speaker 1: what I wanted. So finally he wakes up and he says,
- 28:29Speaker 1: he carry this curse with you. On a moonlit night,
- 28:32Speaker 1: this grudge shall be settled in a score nine spiteful
- 28:37Speaker 1: samurai specters will emerge to slay you in cold blood
- 28:42Speaker 1: and fulfill their vengeance. They shall end your reign and
- 28:47Speaker 1: reopen the land of Wano. This marks that very year,
- 28:52Speaker 1: wouldn't you know? That's the reason why showgun oh Roachie
- 28:57Speaker 1: is frightened out of his wits. He can't rest knowing
- 29:01Speaker 1: that the ghosts of the Kozuki Klan could come and
- 29:04Speaker 1: kill him at any given moment. And this is all
- 29:09Speaker 1: setting us up to think that maybe they did die.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Maybe it is a ghost that is coming to see
- 29:16Speaker 1: Lufy a little bit later. But it turns out we
- 29:21Speaker 1: just see Kinemon coming very very slowly toward him from
- 29:26Speaker 1: inside this cave, and he's like groaning and moaning, and
- 29:33Speaker 1: it's just the symptom of drinking this poisoned water. That's it.
- 29:37Speaker 1: It's just the like everybody. It turns out, even poor
- 29:41Speaker 1: Beppo is struggling with having the runs. They call it
- 29:45Speaker 1: the runs the trots, you know, it's a bunch of
- 29:48Speaker 1: like parlance that's American. And the fact that we just
- 29:56Speaker 1: all of us don't have access to simple, clean drinking
- 29:59Speaker 1: water is a major bummer. And I feel like that's
- 30:01Speaker 1: probably going to be a problem for our allies, the
- 30:05Speaker 1: warriors on our side, just being fucking dehydrated and sick, Like, yeah,
- 30:11Speaker 1: that's going to be a mark against our side. That sucks.
- 30:16Speaker 1: So this, like I said, we have Keenum on and
- 30:22Speaker 1: it turns out uh Kinnimon and Okiku are both friends
- 30:30Speaker 1: and she's essentially like his apprentice. I guess he's her
- 30:36Speaker 1: master and she was being trained by him. And there
- 30:41Speaker 1: comes a point later, because it turns out the whole
- 30:43Speaker 1: crowd is here, the whole gang. There comes a point
- 30:46Speaker 1: later where Sanji is getting like weirdly defensive of her
- 30:53Speaker 1: against Keenuman, and Kenamon has to be like, I'm a
- 30:55Speaker 1: married man. That's not the relationship that she and I
- 30:59Speaker 1: have have And uh, I I had forgotten that he
- 31:06Speaker 1: is a married man. I honestly had. We get some
- 31:09Speaker 1: flashbacks reminding us of just like what a creep he
- 31:12Speaker 1: was with Nami, and he is a creep as well
- 31:15Speaker 1: in this uh in these three episodes. So being a
- 31:20Speaker 1: married man doesn't stop you from being a fucking creep.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Noted bummer but noted. But yeah, so, oh, Serafims is
- 31:32Speaker 1: not an apprenticing they both served the same master. Oh
- 31:34Speaker 1: that's so weird. I could have sworn she called him mastered.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Oh I had that wrong. He looks just so much
- 31:39Speaker 1: older than her as well, so I assumed this. But
- 31:45Speaker 1: but yeah, so all of these different uh gravestones are
- 31:52Speaker 1: for our friends who have come forward in time. And
- 31:58Speaker 1: he drops this bomb on Loofy and that's pretty much
- 32:02Speaker 1: how the first of these three episodes end with him
- 32:06Speaker 1: just being like, yeah, we're time travelers, and then we
- 32:09Speaker 1: jump into the next one where we get the full
- 32:11Speaker 1: story on exactly how this happened and his wife having
- 32:17Speaker 1: eaten what I'm assuming is like the time time fruit
- 32:22Speaker 1: or something like that. She, like I said, tells them
- 32:28Speaker 1: that like she's used her power before, but we don't
- 32:32Speaker 1: really get specifics about what she was doing. And she
- 32:40Speaker 1: is sending them forward, but she isn't planning to go
- 32:44Speaker 1: forward with them and the like. If I didn't know
- 32:53Speaker 1: that Okiku and Kinemon know each other, I might be
- 32:59Speaker 1: like prepared to believe that maybe she is the wife,
- 33:05Speaker 1: having sent herself forward in time after all, but he
- 33:10Speaker 1: would recognize her, So that doesn't make sense. I just
- 33:15Speaker 1: don't really understand what it is that would keep her
- 33:20Speaker 1: from coming with them and why she would feel like
- 33:22Speaker 1: that was a better idea. Sarah m said it might
- 33:28Speaker 1: be a translation thing. He was the elder one and
- 33:31Speaker 1: so she'd be using more respectful terminology to refer to
- 33:34Speaker 1: him than English would have a hard time finding the
- 33:36Speaker 1: right words for oh okay, Yeah, maybe that's what it is.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Was like she seemed deferential and maybe that is just
- 33:43Speaker 1: due to age. Florian says, I think she stayed behind
- 33:47Speaker 1: because she knew she needed to create the legend of
- 33:49Speaker 1: the Nine Samurai to give people hope and give Kenemon
- 33:53Speaker 1: and Monosuke a chance in the future. Also, she's a
- 33:57Speaker 1: time traveler, so who knows what she knows? And this
- 34:00Speaker 1: is the thing, right, So this weekend, actually I have
- 34:05Speaker 1: an un sober episode coming up with Rashaan where we
- 34:08Speaker 1: are going to talk about time travel, and we like,
- 34:13Speaker 1: the whole point of the episode is going to be
- 34:17Speaker 1: how we would handle it if we were given the
- 34:19Speaker 1: ability to time travel, what we would change, what we
- 34:22Speaker 1: would do, and the various like rules that you encounter
- 34:26Speaker 1: when you are dealing with time travel. All kinds of
- 34:30Speaker 1: different properties have all kinds of different rules, and for
- 34:33Speaker 1: some of them, nothing can be changed because that will
- 34:36Speaker 1: fuck everything up. Some of them it's nothing can be changed. Literally,
- 34:41Speaker 1: no matter what you do, the thing is going to
- 34:43Speaker 1: happen and you can't change it. Some of them have
- 34:46Speaker 1: you can change the thing, but you don't know exactly
- 34:49Speaker 1: how that's going to wind up. Or you know, it's like,
- 34:54Speaker 1: are we time traveling and we're going back into our
- 34:57Speaker 1: younger body, or are we a second in the past
- 35:01Speaker 1: watching our younger self. There's a lot of different ways
- 35:06Speaker 1: that this could work, and we don't really get very
- 35:09Speaker 1: much about how her power manifests or what it does.
- 35:13Speaker 1: So the idea that it's like I stay behind so
- 35:18Speaker 1: that I can build this legend. Like maybe, but I
- 35:22Speaker 1: could also feel like, well, you could just travel back
- 35:26Speaker 1: in time and build this legend earlier, or set things
- 35:33Speaker 1: in motion with somebody else so that you can then
- 35:36Speaker 1: travel forward. But you've already got the wheels turning so
- 35:40Speaker 1: that this is like understood by everybody. Oh okay, so
- 35:46Speaker 1: Florian says. I think she says something like we can
- 35:49Speaker 1: only jump forward, never back. Okay, that's a really big limitation. Then,
- 35:56Speaker 1: so she has potentially jumped forward and maybe has missed
- 36:01Speaker 1: some things due to that. I would think, God, I'm
- 36:06Speaker 1: really curious now, like how would that even work? You know,
- 36:13Speaker 1: I just it's just such a weird I am so
- 36:20Speaker 1: curious if we're actually going to get more specifics about
- 36:26Speaker 1: how this works for her, or if Oda was sort
- 36:32Speaker 1: of anticipating that everything I just said about how like
- 36:37Speaker 1: depending on the property, there's all these different rules, and
- 36:41Speaker 1: I could see as an author being like, I'm just
- 36:45Speaker 1: gonna have this one time where this person who we
- 36:48Speaker 1: don't see use their powers otherwise does something with time travel,
- 36:52Speaker 1: and then they're out and I don't have to I
- 36:56Speaker 1: don't have to adjust for the fact that there's a
- 37:00Speaker 1: time traveler in the rest of my story, because this
- 37:05Speaker 1: was something that came up a lot in Harry Potter.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Was people mocking the fact that, like, we've got literal
- 37:11Speaker 1: time turners that we are willing to give to a
- 37:14Speaker 1: teenager so that she can take extra ap classes, but
- 37:19Speaker 1: we're not going back in time and killing Voldemort? Are
- 37:21Speaker 1: we really? Are we? Really? And the fact that what JK.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Rowling decided to do was have there be this incident
- 37:33Speaker 1: at the ministry that results in all of the time
- 37:36Speaker 1: turners getting smashed at once. So now we just don't
- 37:41Speaker 1: we act as if the whole turning back time thing
- 37:44Speaker 1: isn't even a thing at all. We'll just pretend that's not.
- 37:47Speaker 1: You know, like, if you are going to introduce time
- 37:52Speaker 1: travel into your story, you do have to be really
- 37:56Speaker 1: really careful with exactly how you decide to handle it.
- 38:00Speaker 1: And it may be that just touching on it here
- 38:03Speaker 1: with this one lady doing this one thing is keeping
- 38:06Speaker 1: it as simple as possible, which I really would understand
- 38:09Speaker 1: and I think would probably be a wise idea because
- 38:13Speaker 1: time travel stuff can really fuck a story up, and
- 38:18Speaker 1: I can get very iffy about it because there are
- 38:21Speaker 1: times when I love a time travel story, and then
- 38:24Speaker 1: sometimes it can get very convoluted and feel a little
- 38:27Speaker 1: bit like you just didn't You just wanted to be
- 38:29Speaker 1: able to undo things, you know. Seraphim says, if she
- 38:36Speaker 1: was dead, her fruit would reincarnate meeting. Someone else could
- 38:40Speaker 1: have that power now, potentially, but if she's not, like
- 38:45Speaker 1: if it it's not somebody that is necessarily directly involved
- 38:49Speaker 1: with our story at the moment. So I could see
- 38:52Speaker 1: that being a I'll worry about it another day kind
- 38:55Speaker 1: of thing. I'll bring out the time travel in a
- 38:59Speaker 1: different arc. Who knows this is part of why I
- 39:07Speaker 1: didn't like Doctor Who when I covered that, I think
- 39:13Speaker 1: I only got up to like The Twelfth Doctor the
- 39:16Speaker 1: first couple episodes of The Twelfth Doctor before finally quitting,
- 39:22Speaker 1: and it was just like, I understand the timey whime
- 39:26Speaker 1: eeting is what appeals to a lot of people, but
- 39:29Speaker 1: for me, it was it made all of the stakes irrelevant.
- 39:37Speaker 1: I didn't care what happened because I knew every bit
- 39:41Speaker 1: of this can be completely undone and we can go
- 39:45Speaker 1: back to normal by the very end of this episode
- 39:48Speaker 1: and it won't matter. If you can just change things
- 39:54Speaker 1: like that easily, nothing matters in the plot at all,
- 39:58Speaker 1: and so I just found myself completely uninvested because ultimately,
- 40:04Speaker 1: any any conflict or obstacle could simply be a race
- 40:09Speaker 1: or skipped or whatever, and frequently was you know, it
- 40:13Speaker 1: was handled in like the most hand wavy ways. So
- 40:18Speaker 1: it's just a you've got to like, if you're gonna
- 40:20Speaker 1: do this, it's got to be something that's handled really carefully.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Sarapham says as to HP that I never minded given
- 40:30Speaker 1: what oh that I never minded given what we saw
- 40:33Speaker 1: the time travel always resulted in stable time loops. But
- 40:37Speaker 1: given this is Rowling, I doubt she thought about that
- 40:39Speaker 1: at all. Yeah, I feel like she just wanted to
- 40:43Speaker 1: play with it and then realized that I introduced a
- 40:46Speaker 1: very powerful artifact into my universe that is too op
- 40:52Speaker 1: for everything that's going on to be going on if
- 40:55Speaker 1: this existed, and she just had to kind of undo it,
- 40:59Speaker 1: So yeah, I would I. Yeah, there's no need to
- 41:05Speaker 1: go into that. Yeah, no, I do not like that. Lady.
- 41:09Speaker 1: I'm realizing that I am not even into the second episode.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Well i am. I've talked a lot actually to be
- 41:17Speaker 1: fair about how all of this goes. But this guy
- 41:21Speaker 1: Odin is originally he had like a really violent reputation
- 41:28Speaker 1: and was cast out of his community, and he wandered
- 41:35Speaker 1: until he found this village that was being terrorized by
- 41:39Speaker 1: a bunch of bandits, and he didn't truck with that shit.
- 41:44Speaker 1: So he went in there and handled his business and
- 41:47Speaker 1: became in charge, and the bandits all began to follow
- 41:52Speaker 1: him after he defeated their superior. And it's almost like,
- 42:00Speaker 1: I think the idea is sort of meant to be.
- 42:06Speaker 1: The violence in everything had been this like pent up
- 42:13Speaker 1: vision of somebody who was frustrated with the world and
- 42:17Speaker 1: didn't have anywhere to direct that energy, and that once
- 42:22Speaker 1: he got to a place where being violent was actually
- 42:27Speaker 1: protecting people, and that was something that was useful in
- 42:31Speaker 1: this moment that he was able to make it work
- 42:38Speaker 1: for him in a way that wasn't going to happen
- 42:42Speaker 1: staying in a place that was settled and civilized already,
- 42:47Speaker 1: that he was just too bringing conflict to things instead
- 42:52Speaker 1: of establishing authority and creating a place that was safe
- 42:59Speaker 1: and fair for people. So yeah, he he eventually like
- 43:06Speaker 1: is given the title of is it Dimo, I'm trying
- 43:11Speaker 1: to remember the name of it, but he's like, you know,
- 43:14Speaker 1: it's a title of some prestige that he winds up
- 43:18Speaker 1: earning because he takes care of these people and ensures
- 43:23Speaker 1: that they are you know, they have a town that
- 43:27Speaker 1: they have built, and they have a steady food supply,
- 43:32Speaker 1: and they're just prosperous under his guidance. And it all
- 43:39Speaker 1: gets completely taken away by these fucking assholes turning up.
- 43:46Speaker 1: And it's a shock because we have like the initial conflict,
- 43:51Speaker 1: but then when our friends travel into the future twenty years,
- 43:55Speaker 1: it's not just oh, they burned our village down and
- 43:59Speaker 1: have taken everything from us. It's that like the fundamental
- 44:06Speaker 1: what's the word I want? Fecundity is the word I
- 44:10Speaker 1: can think of, but that's not really the word I
- 44:12Speaker 1: want because that feels very pretentious. But the abundance of
- 44:16Speaker 1: the land itself has been altered because of the poison
- 44:20Speaker 1: that is being pumped into the air and into the water.
- 44:23Speaker 1: So it's not just as simple as like get the
- 44:26Speaker 1: bad guys out of here. It's like a huge amount
- 44:30Speaker 1: of dismantling of a decades of technology and build up
- 44:36Speaker 1: that have happened. So it's it's not as much as
- 44:41Speaker 1: Keenuman is saying, like I just want to get a
- 44:43Speaker 1: bunch of allies and go and cut these leaders heads off.
- 44:46Speaker 1: As much as I sympathize with that, and I actually
- 44:48Speaker 1: think that's probably a great first step. That's not going
- 44:52Speaker 1: to make the water potable overnight. You know, there's something
- 44:58Speaker 1: more happening here that we're going to need to deal with.
- 45:00Speaker 1: It's like a structural and we know that there are
- 45:04Speaker 1: slaves as well, so I'm hoping that perhaps we can
- 45:08Speaker 1: like find a way to get them involved and rebel.
- 45:12Speaker 1: You know, it's just they don't have weapons, they're probably
- 45:16Speaker 1: like malnourished and weak, and how do we It's twenty
- 45:23Speaker 1: twenty six and the United States has yet to rise
- 45:28Speaker 1: up against this burgeoning dictatorship. It's hard to get people
- 45:33Speaker 1: to feel like they have a chance in rising up
- 45:37Speaker 1: and that it's not simply going to be them throwing
- 45:40Speaker 1: their lives away. You've got to convince so Daimyo, says Sarahim.
- 45:49Speaker 1: That's the one. It's the rank in Japanese feudal hierarchy,
- 45:54Speaker 1: just below the showgun who rules over a specific region.
- 45:57Speaker 1: The showgun slash Kaido are the ones pushing this. So
- 46:00Speaker 1: kicking their asses off Wano is pretty much the required
- 46:03Speaker 1: first step. Yeah, makes sense. And yeah, like I said,
- 46:10Speaker 1: I think that is a very good start, and I
- 46:12Speaker 1: think that, you know, we in the United States could
- 46:15Speaker 1: use a few more Luigi's with this sort of sentiment
- 46:17Speaker 1: as well. But there's going to be a lot of
- 46:22Speaker 1: cleanup that we're going to have to do after in
- 46:25Speaker 1: order to make it so that things are even approaching
- 46:29Speaker 1: normal again. And in the second episode, it's a lot
- 46:35Speaker 1: of fighting. It's a lot of like the friends that
- 46:38Speaker 1: we have met gathering and going up to the house
- 46:43Speaker 1: and finding Momo and his mother and these like last
- 46:48Speaker 1: moments of desperation before they're sent forward into the future
- 46:54Speaker 1: and don't really understand what had happened. Like she tells
- 46:57Speaker 1: them what happened. I'm not trying to say that they
- 46:59Speaker 1: don't know. It's simply that it's clear, at least with
- 47:04Speaker 1: Keenum on that he was sort of like, she says
- 47:07Speaker 1: she can do this, but like, what does that even mean?
- 47:09Speaker 1: And then once they are in the future, he's like,
- 47:11Speaker 1: oh shit, it is real. So it feels very much
- 47:15Speaker 1: like not exactly that he didn't believe her. But it's
- 47:19Speaker 1: one thing to intellectually hear a thing as possible, and
- 47:22Speaker 1: it's another thing to literally be shoved into a different time.
- 47:27Speaker 1: And I'm trying to make sure that I don't miss
- 47:31Speaker 1: anything here because when they turn up in this area,
- 47:41Speaker 1: there is nobody. They're just looking out over these hills
- 47:45Speaker 1: and all of the factories pouring the black smoke into
- 47:49Speaker 1: the air, and Momo is having a real crisis of
- 47:58Speaker 1: faith here. It essentially is going, we don't have anybody
- 48:04Speaker 1: to fight with us. It's just like the Nine of
- 48:07Speaker 1: us and we're in a completely unknown place. Is it
- 48:14Speaker 1: the nine? How many of them are there here? But
- 48:20Speaker 1: kinamone has to tell him. I mean, I know that
- 48:24Speaker 1: this sounds like kind of dismissive the way of saying this,
- 48:27Speaker 1: but basically, you've got to keep your head up. It's yeah,
- 48:33Speaker 1: it does. It looks bad and it is bad, but
- 48:37Speaker 1: we're going to find a way. And you've got to
- 48:40Speaker 1: be strong for your people because they are relying on you,
- 48:44Speaker 1: and really really tries to set an example for Momo
- 48:47Speaker 1: to follow, even though he is barely able to keep
- 48:49Speaker 1: himself from just like scream sobbing, like you can see
- 48:52Speaker 1: it on his face. He is one step away from
- 48:55Speaker 1: fucking just losing it. So back in the present, wait,
- 49:05Speaker 1: we have all of our friends, like you know, hearing this,
- 49:09Speaker 1: It's very funny because when Keinuman's telling the story, he
- 49:12Speaker 1: says something about how I was like no, and then
- 49:16Speaker 1: it cuts to the present in him telling the story
- 49:18Speaker 1: and he's yelling no with like an armount stretched, all dramatic,
- 49:22Speaker 1: and I just suddenly imagined what it must be like
- 49:26Speaker 1: with the drama in a lot of this to be
- 49:28Speaker 1: telling the story and what it looks like for him.
- 49:32Speaker 1: And he says something about like running into law and
- 49:37Speaker 1: how he was sliced up and I was utterly helpless
- 49:41Speaker 1: and I forgot about all of the pieces of him
- 49:43Speaker 1: like that. I totally forgot. This was like the way
- 49:46Speaker 1: we found him. And yeah, he tells Loofy this whole story,
- 49:51Speaker 1: and it's like, and that is when you guys all
- 49:54Speaker 1: came along. And it turns out because the very night
- 50:00Speaker 1: from that story was tonight a bunch of dudes show
- 50:06Speaker 1: up who are like, oh, we have kept the faith
- 50:09Speaker 1: and have been waiting for you, And they all have
- 50:13Speaker 1: like a tattoo of a crescent on their ankles, the
- 50:17Speaker 1: ones that are like very much in the in the know,
- 50:22Speaker 1: but they are trying to send a message to those
- 50:26Speaker 1: who aren't aware by creating this sort of coded picture.
- 50:33Speaker 1: It really reminded me of Dandelion Dynasty, and there's a
- 50:38Speaker 1: lot of like the kinds of riddles that happen with
- 50:43Speaker 1: when you aren't working with like a regular alphabet and
- 50:46Speaker 1: you have these characters that both represent words but also
- 50:52Speaker 1: can like be a simplified drawing of an object, and
- 50:57Speaker 1: how that lends itself to a lot of like coded
- 51:01Speaker 1: secret messages. I found it really fascinating because it's just
- 51:05Speaker 1: something that like, you know, in English, we have our
- 51:07Speaker 1: own ways of doing that sort of thing, but it
- 51:10Speaker 1: doesn't it doesn't work like that, and that is what
- 51:19Speaker 1: oosop and who's the one working with Oosap that's been
- 51:24Speaker 1: distributing all of this stuff because Frankie, he is in
- 51:28Speaker 1: construction on that house, which it does indeed turn out
- 51:31Speaker 1: to be like Caido's mansion, and they're hoping that him
- 51:36Speaker 1: being a worker is going to allow him to get
- 51:38Speaker 1: access to the blueprints of the floor plans that they
- 51:43Speaker 1: are able to have an upper hand once it's time
- 51:47Speaker 1: to attack, because we know the layout of the inside,
- 51:50Speaker 1: and Robin is you know, doing her thing to infiltrate
- 51:54Speaker 1: as well, and he like I'm talking about like oos
- 52:01Speaker 1: up oh and zoro Zora is the other one distributing.
- 52:05Speaker 1: It's funny though, because like we don't really see him
- 52:07Speaker 1: doing that, so I think he probably was, but it's
- 52:12Speaker 1: just not we haven't witnessed it. I don't know if
- 52:15Speaker 1: he just ran out of flyers or what. But Saraphim
- 52:20Speaker 1: says that house isn't his mansion. The guy who Frankie
- 52:24Speaker 1: is working for was the guy who built Kaido's mansion. Oh,
- 52:30Speaker 1: so I thought that they were working on his actual building,
- 52:34Speaker 1: like that he was going to be moving into some
- 52:36Speaker 1: other place. So he is he hoping to get on
- 52:41Speaker 1: the guy's good side so that this dude will like
- 52:46Speaker 1: invite him over for coffee to a place where the
- 52:49Speaker 1: blueprints are being kept. Is it that kind of thing
- 52:53Speaker 1: where it's like, I'm just trying to network so that
- 52:57Speaker 1: I can eventually get access. I thought it was a
- 53:00Speaker 1: very one to one. I'm actually doing the construction on
- 53:06Speaker 1: the place. But I guess that wouldn't make sense because
- 53:10Speaker 1: then he would know the layout already, it wouldn't be
- 53:13Speaker 1: a secret he'd be although that's not necessarily true. Sometimes
- 53:17Speaker 1: they would build things in such a way that people
- 53:20Speaker 1: never actually got to see the whole layout for that
- 53:24Speaker 1: exact reason. Let's see, uh, Floren says, yeah, kinda, and
- 53:32Speaker 1: Sir francis, yeah, I hope you either get the guy
- 53:33Speaker 1: to slip him some info or get access to his
- 53:36Speaker 1: files long enough to find and nab them. Okay, huh, well,
- 53:41Speaker 1: I guess we'll have to see. And yeah, so he
- 53:45Speaker 1: recruits everybody to help him out, and you know, he
- 53:48Speaker 1: has this ability to give everybody these disguises in just
- 53:51Speaker 1: like a flick of his fingers. And unsurprisingly, Nami is
- 53:57Speaker 1: in this really skimpy outfit, which she does take issue with.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Kart is in a kimono that's extremely short, but it
- 54:09Speaker 1: isn't off the shoulder with her tits hanging out. It's
- 54:12Speaker 1: not like that, so at the very least, you know,
- 54:16Speaker 1: but Nami is just like yelling at him about it.
- 54:21Speaker 1: And we have the creepiness of not only keenam On
- 54:27Speaker 1: dressing her this way, but also Sanji and Brooke just
- 54:31Speaker 1: like drooling over her and being very happy with this
- 54:36Speaker 1: whole look. And then we have this lady what is
- 54:42Speaker 1: her name? She Nobu? Is that her actual name? Because
- 54:46Speaker 1: he says this, and then she comes out of the ceiling.
- 54:49Speaker 1: But she's a real weird looking lady. She's got a
- 54:57Speaker 1: fool almost looks like a like a has matt suit
- 55:01Speaker 1: style like pale pink kind of singlet that also goes
- 55:08Speaker 1: over her head. But she has pigtails that like stick
- 55:11Speaker 1: out from the sides of her head. And she's older
- 55:18Speaker 1: like but there's she's just you know, a lot more
- 55:28Speaker 1: modestly dressed than Nami. And Nami, who is continuing to
- 55:33Speaker 1: complain about her outfit, basically keene Mon says, uh, there's
- 55:38Speaker 1: only two choices. Either you get super sexy or you
- 55:43Speaker 1: get frumpy, which is honestly kind of the thesis behind feminism.
- 55:50Speaker 1: If we're being honest, it's like we were either virginal
- 55:56Speaker 1: perfect or we're sluts. And you know, so he just
- 56:03Speaker 1: said a mouthful there, buddy, That's all I'm saying. And
- 56:07Speaker 1: Nami decides that she'll stick with the office she's got
- 56:10Speaker 1: and just hike it up over her shoulders to give
- 56:12Speaker 1: her a little bit more coverage. Unsurprisingly, I don't find
- 56:16Speaker 1: this joke very funny. It's tired, but you know, it
- 56:21Speaker 1: is what it is. And so yeah, she is going
- 56:24Speaker 1: to be working with this ninja and it's going to
- 56:30Speaker 1: be everybody like doing their own things to help the cause.
- 56:34Speaker 1: And I am pretty interested now that we've got like
- 56:37Speaker 1: a really specific plan in mind for how everybody is
- 56:41Speaker 1: going to move and operate. But it does mean that
- 56:44Speaker 1: we're going to have to split up and do separate things.
- 56:48Speaker 1: It's just it's feeling way more organized than this sort
- 56:53Speaker 1: of thing tends to feel at this point in the story,
- 56:56Speaker 1: which of course means it's all going to go left
- 56:58Speaker 1: quite shortly. But what can you do? All right, I'm
- 57:03Speaker 1: going to wrap this up, but I really appreciate you
- 57:07Speaker 1: guys hanging out with me and correcting all of the
- 57:11Speaker 1: things because I just misunderstood a lot. And yeah, I'm
- 57:18Speaker 1: this arc is interesting. It's just got a really different
- 57:26Speaker 1: feel to it, so that's fun. I'm looking forward to it,
- 57:30Speaker 1: all right, friends, until next time to Thelue motherfuckers. That
- 58:03Speaker 1: was an Unspoiled Network podcast.
