- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, gentlemen, shall we start in a prayer? Absolutely,
- 0:03Nick you.
- 0:04Speaker 2: All right, great father Son, Holy Spirits, Lord, we pray
- 0:10that this time spit together with us three men, maybe eventful,
- 0:16insightful and full of blurting. And we offer this time
- 0:21for your Holy Mother, Amen, Father, So Holy Spirits.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Okay, So as it started, then, okay, welcome, welcome everybody.
- 0:36Thank you for tuning in. It's been a pleasure, or
- 0:39it's going to be a pleasure. We'll say it's been
- 0:41at the ends pleasure. So basically what we're doing, there's
- 0:47a thing called spire aspires a memory eight. It's this
- 0:50is the shortened introversion, so it's s p i r E. Spiritual, physical, intellectual, relational, evangelical. Basically,
- 1:01what that means is that you can use spire or
- 1:06the acronym spire the memory aid as a daily plan
- 1:09for life. So you can make a list and you say, okay,
- 1:14spire something spiritual. What can I do today that's spiritual?
- 1:19When you do that at the end of your day
- 1:20or after you do it, cross it off.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Physical? What can I do? Physical?
- 1:25Speaker 3: Run a mile, cross it off, intellectual, read ten minutes,
- 1:29cross it off, relational, have a conversation with your grandma.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Cross it off evangelical.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Share the faith, share your ideas, do the corporal works
- 1:38of mercy, whatever it is.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Evangelical.
- 1:39Speaker 3: We'll kind of get into that and get more in
- 1:41depth with how it all works. But basically, you do
- 1:45something in each of those realms. It's like the main
- 1:49thing of the day. It doesn't have to be super complicated.
- 1:51Just an item off of each one of those will
- 1:54assure that you have ensure that you have a balanced day.
- 1:58So then really what we're here to do is talk
- 2:01about that, talk about our experience using that being I'm
- 2:05twenty two.
- 2:06Speaker 4: N twenty two. I haven't about that almost twenty three.
- 2:11Speaker 5: Give you a month, okay, Davis John Thomas, I'm a
- 2:15day younger, but.
- 2:16Speaker 4: I want not sure.
- 2:17Speaker 6: I'm twenty one.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Song of Baby.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Also, for anyone who doesn't know who we are, I'm
- 2:22Fulton Mueller, I'm.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Nicholas, I'm Michael Dobbs. And I always thought your name
- 2:29has pronounced Miller.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I always it goes back and forth because it's like,
- 2:33do you want to have to pronounce Muler every time?
- 2:35It's like ful Miller. It's like that's way easier than
- 2:37Fulton Mueller. But it's like back in the day my
- 2:40family used to be Mueller's.
- 2:41Speaker 4: I guess it makes me think of Catholic.
- 2:44Speaker 6: Oh, I think need to be thinking about.
- 2:54Speaker 3: So basically that's what we're here to do. So what
- 2:56today is going to be is sort of are each
- 2:59of our takes on why we want to make a podcast,
- 3:01what we're here for, what we all think about life,
- 3:05and kind of what we think we would bring a
- 3:08value to the podcast, and kind of just the point
- 3:11of why we're here. And then what's going to be
- 3:13at the foundation of that is spire, which is our
- 3:15goal is to sort of share this idea so that
- 3:19people our age kind of have some foundational plan for
- 3:22moving forward.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And the main goal is for it all.
- 3:26Speaker 3: To lead into and you don't have to be specifically
- 3:30a Christian to do this, but it's to lead into evangelizing,
- 3:34which is ultimately what we're here to do, which is
- 3:36to share the love of Jesus and share the good
- 3:39news that there is hope, redemption, love out there and
- 3:43that it comes from the source of everything, and that
- 3:46you can actually have a relationship with Him. So that's
- 3:49why we're here. And then it's also just for the
- 3:51sake of sharing each of our perspectives on whatever comes up.
- 3:57Because any topic that has to do with Spire that
- 4:00is important to us that we want to comment on
- 4:03or share our thoughts on, that's what we're gonna do.
- 4:05Speaker 6: So yeah, I mean just kind of what you said.
- 4:09A secondly, I was like, most people, like if we
- 4:12say guys, we're starting podcasts, are like, of course you are.
- 4:14You're like a bunch of twenty one twenty two year
- 4:16old guys. Like every twenty one twenty year old guy
- 4:18wants to start a podcast. That's like what every guy
- 4:21wants to do. But like that did cross my mind,
- 4:24but like every single guy, the number of people I've
- 4:28talked to are I'm just like, we have a good conversation.
- 4:30Speaker 4: I'm like, probably should start a podcast. There should be
- 4:33a podcast.
- 4:33Speaker 6: But the whole reason because I did cross my mind,
- 4:38but like we have I think kind of a unique
- 4:42perspective to bring. I think that that's kind of the
- 4:44whole we'll get into, like why we want to do it,
- 4:46but we're not just like trying to be another group
- 4:50of dudes doing a podcast. Like if you want to
- 4:53listen to Logan Paul, you can go do that, but
- 4:55like this is we're not gonna be like definitely not.
- 4:59But it's just we're trying to bring kind of a
- 5:01unique perspective to it because we saw a void and
- 5:04we want to fill that void.
- 5:07Speaker 1: So how would you describe that void?
- 5:09Speaker 6: That void? You know, I think that in twenty twenty three,
- 5:13the you know, with social media being as prevalent, I
- 5:17need to make sure I'm talking to the mic. With
- 5:19social media being as prevalent as it is, I think
- 5:21it's really easy to get a lot of negativity through
- 5:24that kind of venue, I guess, and avenue not venue.
- 5:32Really you have a lot of kind of like bad
- 5:35examples of Christianity or even just living kind of a
- 5:39good life, and you don't really see a lot of
- 5:42positive examples coming from younger people. So I just like,
- 5:47I feel like us as a group of dudes who
- 5:50are and we're not perfect, definitely, But that's kind of
- 5:53the purpose of this. Again, I keep on trying to
- 5:55get into that, but we'll get in like a second,
- 5:57Like we're trying to get better. At the end of
- 6:00the day, even if we have zero listeners, we're gonna
- 6:03be us through here helping each other. To try and
- 6:05get better, and I think that that's just something that's
- 6:10like if it was me on the outside looking in,
- 6:12that's something that'd be really positive for me to see.
- 6:14Is just like guys trying to help each other grow
- 6:17in their faith, growing their relationship with Jesus and just
- 6:21I think that it can be a really positive influence.
- 6:24Speaker 5: So yeah, interesting, Yeah, And for me, like you know,
- 6:27I'm one of those guys, is just like I love
- 6:29having conversations.
- 6:30Speaker 4: I love talking with people and we get into some
- 6:33really deep conversations.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I've had great conversations over the years, especially with these
- 6:36two guys, So like that was my first thoughts going
- 6:39into this, But after talking with them and especially Fulton,
- 6:42you know, with all this bio stuff, it makes me
- 6:43really think, oh, there's more to it than just like
- 6:47the intellectual pursuit of knowledge or how people look at things.
- 6:51But there's all of these other aspects that like really
- 6:53build into our lives. And that's something that I really
- 6:56look forward to building up myself and we can all
- 6:59build we can all build up together, and I think
- 7:03that's going to be quite.
- 7:05Speaker 4: A fun time.
- 7:06Speaker 2: And honestly, it's kind of nice to just have people
- 7:08come into my place.
- 7:15Speaker 4: People here, I'll love you. Yeah, this is a better amount.
- 7:19Speaker 3: If you turn this way, it's still catching the same
- 7:21as if you turn that wayschology.
- 7:23Speaker 6: Is in advance. We're still figuring out the technical thing.
- 7:25We spent like an hour ahead of time, just like
- 7:27setting this all up. The quality will continue to increase exponentially.
- 7:32I promise, So this is not it's not gonna prompt
- 7:35I shouldn't promise. I shouldn't promise things that I can't guarantee.
- 7:39But we're gonna work to try and make it better
- 7:41every time. So the bad quality here, you're just gonna
- 7:44have to look past it for one episode, hopefully one.
- 7:48Speaker 2: If it was up to me, this would probably be
- 7:50like on iPhone microphone, that.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Would not have been it kind of is.
- 7:56Speaker 3: We got Michael audio engineers, Michael's.
- 7:59Speaker 6: My what's what's the apple.
- 8:04Speaker 1: That Steve?
- 8:06Speaker 4: What you did?
- 8:07Speaker 1: Bill Yates?
- 8:09Speaker 6: That Microsoft Tim Cook? This video is shot on iPhone?
- 8:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, anyway, probably, So you were saying that the
- 8:21void that you see is the terrible examples, especially on
- 8:25social media sort of the culture and then the social
- 8:28media is like almost the magic looking glass into the
- 8:31culture in a sense, and really what you get is
- 8:34not a lot of real world, relatable people our age
- 8:39that are actually trying to do the right thing without
- 8:42being weird.
- 8:44Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, like, I think social media is a
- 8:48microcosm of like bigger problems that we have. Like we're
- 8:53not just gonna be like social media bad. Everything else
- 8:56that is not social is good. But that's what you said.
- 8:58It is like trying to provide a look into like
- 9:01the people's real lives and like what's actually.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Going on, like people trying to do the right thing
- 9:05in real life.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's really interesting because so many there's
- 9:08so many podcasts where people are like social media is
- 9:10horrible and terrible, you should never be on it, and
- 9:12like and I won't listen to you if I'm not
- 9:14on it. But like the whole idea is like as
- 9:17an entity, it's not in itself bad, it's just misused
- 9:21so much and so problematic in that way that it's
- 9:24just like the best way to go about it is
- 9:26to try to understand like what it truly is and
- 9:29try to get at what people actually want and need
- 9:33as opposed to what gets the most clicks or views.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Interesting, So how do you what do you view as
- 9:40the void? What are you try? What are you here for?
- 9:42Speaker 6: Oh?
- 9:42Speaker 4: The void? Uh? Well, I, as Michael was saying.
- 9:45Speaker 6: With wait, let's pause for a second. I think because
- 9:48we keep on kind of like hnting at this, we
- 9:50should just like get into like why do we each
- 9:52want to do it? Because I think if we're saying
- 9:54like this is the void and then like what's the void?
- 9:58Like that always is going to lead back to like
- 10:00why do you want to do it?
- 10:01Speaker 4: So I feel like we should just get yeah.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so I don't want to do the podcast or
- 10:05why do you want to fill the void?
- 10:07Speaker 6: Well, because the podcast hopefully is because you want to
- 10:09feel avoid but like why do you the podcast?
- 10:12Speaker 1: Probably feel the void in yourself.
- 10:16Speaker 6: But there's gonna be like more to that, so it's
- 10:17not just gonna be like there's a void, I won't
- 10:19feel it. It's like there might be other reasons that
- 10:21you want to. Yeah, so you can go first because
- 10:23I cut you off.
- 10:24Speaker 4: But it's all good. H very easily.
- 10:26Speaker 2: You see it on YouTube, and it mostly those are
- 10:29social media's but like I see YouTube a lot.
- 10:32Speaker 4: It's very addicting to watch, but.
- 10:34Speaker 2: You just see all sorts of different things, and especially
- 10:36with these shorts, a lot of these quick, you know,
- 10:39fake things. So many people are just trying to like
- 10:42make something up, to try to make it fun and interesting,
- 10:45so more people watch that they can get views, so
- 10:47they can get money, so they can get popularity. And
- 10:50like some of the videos I see, they're just like sad.
- 10:53It's just like people look like lifeless husks, not really
- 10:57doing anything. And it's just like, I think that if
- 11:01we can instill like a sense of joy and like
- 11:04to bring entertainment in a way that is real and sincere,
- 11:11that I think that, you know, will one make me
- 11:14feel sincerity and joy in that way, but hopefully so
- 11:17that people can see examples of what joyful sincerity is
- 11:22as opposed to the you know, fake creation of all
- 11:27these different YouTube avenues.
- 11:31Speaker 1: That's me see, Okay, that's good. Cool. I think mine is.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I think the void that I see is definitely a
- 11:49culture that has completely lost God. And it's not like
- 11:53you guys have lost God, you've given God away, but.
- 11:55Speaker 1: It's like, literally I think we lost him.
- 11:57Speaker 3: We're like got completely consumed with all the stuff that's
- 12:00super entertaining, totally eye catching, super addicting, and it's like
- 12:05everything around us is hyper entertaining, and so it's really
- 12:12difficult too. And then not only that, but it's all
- 12:16so removed of innocence, and I feel like there needs
- 12:22to be more people that know how to navigate and
- 12:25can help communicate how to navigate between the world and
- 12:30the people that are sort of looking or lost or
- 12:35just different from you, but without isolating them or isolating yourself,
- 12:41but really finding.
- 12:42Speaker 1: A way to love every person.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Without losing your own soul I think, but and I
- 12:49mean that in the sense of losing your own identity,
- 12:52your own self worth, that kind of thing, as well
- 12:54as morally losing your soul and just sort of giving
- 12:57into your own passions desires and letting those rule you
- 13:02instead of seeing that there's a way that those can
- 13:04be subjected to something.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Much higher and much more real.
- 13:08Speaker 3: And so then my goal with this is just to
- 13:11be a voice of a person saying like, I am
- 13:16experiencing the exact same thing as you, and it sucks
- 13:20in a lot of ways, but it's also there is
- 13:22a lot of hope and a lot of good things.
- 13:25But it's not just wishful thinking. And I'm not here
- 13:29to sell anything. I'm just here to basically talk because
- 13:32I don't I like talking all talking the conversation would
- 13:37be fun with people that like, I.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Know, so that's why I'm here.
- 13:42Speaker 6: Yeah, I think I kind of already said like why
- 13:46I feel like the void is but like I completely
- 13:50agree with both of those, and then like why I
- 13:54want to do it? I would say it's a lot
- 13:56of the same reasons that you guys both said, But
- 13:59then also like and can I like tell the story
- 14:03of like what like how Okay? So, like probably three
- 14:10weeks ago, I was like really kind of in this
- 14:12place of like, okay, God, like what do you want
- 14:17me to be doing in this moment? Because I started
- 14:21to really think about like whether it's you know, the
- 14:25end of the world or I'd die in car crash tomorrow.
- 14:28If you're standing there before God and He's like, why
- 14:30should I let you in? Is it gonna be I
- 14:33followed the rules or is it gonna Because I was
- 14:35doing everything in my power to try and advance the King.
- 14:40Was I trying to share the gospel with people? Was
- 14:42I trying to not just like be good enough, but
- 14:48try and like be as good as I could possibly be.
- 14:53I was kind of like looking at where I was
- 14:54at and I was like, I feel like I'm you know,
- 14:57I'm trying my best to follow the rules, but then
- 14:59like I don't. I didn't know if there was like
- 15:01much beyond that, And like I think when we were
- 15:07on the FaceTime, I was like I kind of said,
- 15:10like this could have We could do one hundred episodes
- 15:15and one person could be moved by one hundred episodes
- 15:19and that would make it all worth it. So just
- 15:21like for me, it was like my desire to do
- 15:24it was really coming from a place of like there's
- 15:27a void, but like what am I doing personally to
- 15:31fill it? Like not is anybody doing it? Because at
- 15:33the end of the day, like whether or not somebody
- 15:35else's that might be great and it might move me,
- 15:38But what am I personally doing to kind of try
- 15:41and fill that void? So like, yeah, I think that's
- 15:45kind of my perspective. But then, like as I was
- 15:49praying about this, so I spent probably like a week
- 15:52praying about it, and then a mass one day, I
- 15:54was just like feeling really moved by it, and I
- 15:57was just like, Okay, I really feel this really strong
- 16:00calling to do it or do something. I don't really
- 16:03know what that thing was just like I want to
- 16:09do something. I have just up just like desire to
- 16:13do something. And I was in Mass and I was
- 16:14just like, you know, I like talking a lot. He
- 16:19we all like talking, Like, let's be real, that's kind
- 16:22why we're all here.
- 16:23Speaker 4: I love talking.
- 16:24Speaker 6: But like I was like, I like talking and I
- 16:26like talking about deep, meaningful stuff, and what better way
- 16:31is there to do that than to start podcast? But again,
- 16:35like I said, it's not just another just like random
- 16:37dude podcast. And I was just so I was like,
- 16:39that would be kind of cool, but I don't want
- 16:40to do it by myself. And so I was like,
- 16:42who would be good to do this with? And I
- 16:44thought about a lot of people, and I was just like,
- 16:46Fulton and Nick seemed like they would be really fun
- 16:48to do this with. And then I like, as soon
- 16:50as I got home from Mass, I like got my
- 16:52phone and I was just I texted Nick and Fulton.
- 16:54I was like, guys, I like, I really want to
- 16:57do this podcast. And then Nick respund. It is like
- 17:00I was literally already talking to Fulton about doing this
- 17:02kind of thing.
- 17:03Speaker 4: So like did you not already know that?
- 17:06Speaker 6: Like that's what It's crazy, that's interesting because like I know,
- 17:10I like at points in the past I kind of
- 17:14like talk to other people and like random people just
- 17:17be like, oh, it's fun, it would be fun to
- 17:18start podcasting. Everybody thinks that. And then like I've had
- 17:22good conversations with you and you and like just you
- 17:27guys came to mind and I texted you and You're like, oh,
- 17:29are you talking about that? And I was just like
- 17:30that's so crazy. But yeah, And as soon as you
- 17:34said that, I was just like, God, if you're trying
- 17:37to give me a sign through this, it's working, because
- 17:39like this is it was like just some serious conviction,
- 17:43just like I have to do this now.
- 17:45Speaker 3: But yeah, sweet, Okay, Well, so here we are.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Okay, before we keep going, do you.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Have a phone or something, because we don't lose track
- 17:54of time.
- 17:56Speaker 6: We have time.
- 17:58Speaker 4: So we are in in Where are we in?
- 18:02Speaker 3: Saint Louis Neil wash you We're near Washington Forest Park,
- 18:07that big place.
- 18:09Speaker 6: Let's not give exact details address.
- 18:14Speaker 3: So we're in what I say downtown's not quite downttown.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Outside of downtown, we can call it downtown.
- 18:21Speaker 6: Downtown's compared to the suburbs we heard uptown.
- 18:24Speaker 3: We were downtown oh, okay, sweet, we are in downtown
- 18:27Saint Louis. We are at Nick's dinner table, and we
- 18:31are now going to move into the park where we
- 18:33talk about spire real quick and what that's done for each.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Of our lives. So you started looking for do you
- 18:43want to start?
- 18:44Speaker 3: Because you have the longest Okay, So basically the way
- 18:48that I've been trying to live my life is there's
- 18:51way too many things going on all the time in
- 18:54my head and around me and the things that I
- 18:57see online or with people, whatever it is. There's so
- 19:01many things and it's super difficult to keep track of,
- 19:03and not only that, it's super difficult to find silence
- 19:07and peace and quiet enough to like figure out where
- 19:10I should go. So what this is so helpful with
- 19:15is I kind of I've heard other people say it,
- 19:17but in my defense, before I heard other people say it,
- 19:20I had this mantra that was like, do the next
- 19:23best thing. At least I mean, I didn't say at least,
- 19:26it's like do the next best thing, but at least
- 19:28do the next best thing.
- 19:29Speaker 1: That was kind of what I was.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Trying to stick with because I didn't go to college,
- 19:35and so.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Then it's like Okay, well what are you gonna do?
- 19:37It's like I didn't really want to work a job.
- 19:38Speaker 4: It's like I should do that, and it's like should
- 19:41I go do this?
- 19:41Speaker 3: Should I go do that? How am I called to whatever?
- 19:43And so then the plan really makes it easy to
- 19:48It keeps it the destop reboarding.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Not technical difficulty, just turned off. Okay, so.
- 20:00Speaker 6: You have to restart renew the last twenty five minutes
- 20:03of Brisbane.
- 20:04Speaker 3: So it what it does is it really helps keep
- 20:07everything simple, which is really important. So then I get
- 20:12overwhelmed with goals and feeling like I'm not accomplishing anything
- 20:15because I'm not grinding twenty four to seven or not
- 20:17doing all these things and not being super disciplined all
- 20:19the time. And it's so I'm just not the person
- 20:21that sets a goal and it's like there's a direction
- 20:24for me to go, and it's more of like, oh
- 20:26my gosh, now I have to go do that, and
- 20:27it's like stressful and all this stuff. I'm more of
- 20:30like kind of spontaneous and then if something catches my interest,
- 20:33I'll go down that route. And then so for my personality,
- 20:36it fits and I'm trying to get more disciplined. Of
- 20:39course it helps with that, but it fits because I
- 20:43can I can know that I'm at least growing closer
- 20:46to the person that God wants me to be, and
- 20:48that I that I was made to be, and that
- 20:54above all else is the most important thing to me,
- 20:56I think, because I can't really get behind like I'm
- 20:59going to work until I get this and then working
- 21:02because like I just for I cannot care about it
- 21:05like enough.
- 21:05Speaker 1: To really really get behind it.
- 21:07Speaker 3: But then if I know at least I'm becoming a
- 21:09better person, so wherever I end up, it'll hopefully go, well,
- 21:14this is kind of what it does. So like what
- 21:16that looks like in my life is if I wake
- 21:20up and there's either a note card or something on
- 21:23my phone. My notes, basically I will write out S
- 21:29P I R E. And then I won't spell out spiritual, physical, intellectual.
- 21:34I've got it, memorize. There's a shirt and everything. It's
- 21:36pretty quick to get. But so I'll write that out
- 21:38and then I basically and so I'll basically write out
- 21:49what I want to do spiritual, which is awfully very simplistic.
- 21:53It would be thirty minutes in silence, is like the
- 21:57main goal and then rosary, and then I would move
- 22:01to physical, and for physical I would do I've I've
- 22:07really been slacking with the physical, I would do something
- 22:11like twenty pull ups at least throughout the day, well
- 22:15like you know, throughout.
- 22:17Speaker 1: The day, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:21Speaker 3: And then and then I would move to intellectual, which
- 22:24would be like read ten minutes or listen to a podcast,
- 22:26which at work, at the place that I work, I
- 22:28can listen to podcasts really easily, so that's like my
- 22:31main way of consuming information. So I will listen to podcasts.
- 22:37And then relational, it's kind of like either I'll make
- 22:43I try to look at it, like what's something extra
- 22:46I can do to build relationships with people, which is
- 22:51like specific conversations or setting time apart or doing something
- 22:54nice or making sure I have nothing else on my
- 22:57mind for like family dinner or something. Or it's like
- 23:00I'll text an old friend and I'll be like, hey,
- 23:02let's go up.
- 23:03Speaker 4: How you doing.
- 23:05Speaker 3: It's whatever will kind of craft more relationships and keep
- 23:08you in touch with people, especially the people that you're
- 23:11like really close with. And then so it'll be like
- 23:14family dinner for me, or I'll text somebody or if
- 23:18I've had.
- 23:18Speaker 1: A conversation at work.
- 23:19Speaker 3: I'll count that like a personal conversation whatever, whatever, And
- 23:24then evangelical this one is sort of this is I
- 23:27think the one that would need the most unpacking for
- 23:29how we actually do it, because when you when you
- 23:31say like, oh, I'm going to go evangelize, it's kind
- 23:33of like, I mean, what do you guys think.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Of when you I always think of the one guy was.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Like like that's the or like who's Joel Olsting or
- 23:50whatever where it's like evangelizing is like God hates you,
- 23:54turn your life around, You're gonna burn in hell, and
- 23:57like it.
- 23:58Speaker 6: The other day there was this guy he was standing
- 24:00outside of the student center and he just like has
- 24:03a sign and it's just like, uh, you know buyers,
- 24:09these fornicators ball and lists off all these things and
- 24:12it's just like hell awaits at the bottom. I was
- 24:15just like, I don't think that you're preaching like the
- 24:17love of God right now. I feel like this is
- 24:19not the most effective way to communicate that.
- 24:21Speaker 4: But that's like what so many people do is like evangelization.
- 24:24Speaker 1: It's just like.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Telling you that you're gonna go to hell.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Yeah, so yeah, I know it's it's really in a
- 24:30bad rap. But what so my basically where this idea
- 24:34came from is my dad is a director of religious
- 24:37education and so he teaches RCIA, which is brings people
- 24:41into the Catholic faith, and his whole mo is he
- 24:46likes using memory aids for teaching and memorizing things, and
- 24:51so Spire was inspired by a couple other memory aids
- 24:55and other people like Matthew Kelly and whatever. Matthew Kelly
- 24:58has pies physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual. But what Spire does
- 25:04is sort of reorganize, It gives it a little bit
- 25:07of a cooler name, and then it includes evangelical and
- 25:15that's really the main kicker, because what evangelizing really is
- 25:19is just bringing God's love to other people, and whether
- 25:23that be by sharing the gospel message specifically, or acts
- 25:26of service or loving friendships, relationships, but something that.
- 25:33Speaker 1: We've got, we'll have.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Me and my dad have made a couple of podcasts
- 25:36where he's talked more about it, like how he views
- 25:39what the evangelical type side is.
- 25:41Speaker 1: And so the main push is that the.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Evangelizing is the corporal works of mercy, which are bury
- 25:49the dead, feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty shelter,
- 25:53the homeless visit, the imprisoned clothe, the naked comfort, the
- 26:02sorrowful catholic.
- 26:04Speaker 4: You don't know of them. This seven right, whatever it is,
- 26:14but it's basically.
- 26:17Speaker 3: It's basically just being a good human being with the
- 26:20intention of going with Jesus into all of those places.
- 26:24And so when when I do spiritual right, the first
- 26:29thing I need to do is like map out my
- 26:31relationship with God and guard my interior life and build that,
- 26:34because if I don't have God's love, I've got no
- 26:36love to give. I'm just going to be after things
- 26:38for myself. So then after you craft that, a great
- 26:42next step would be physical. It's like, how am I
- 26:45exercising or moving my body or being in the world
- 26:48and active that I can give as a gift to
- 26:50other people, or just maintain discipline whatever that is. Intellectual,
- 26:56it's knowing things, learning about things, reading things, sharpening your mind,
- 27:00and relational. Everything's built on relationships. Everything that you do
- 27:05in life that really matters is going to be in
- 27:08regards to a relationship with somebody.
- 27:10Speaker 1: So that's a huge focus.
- 27:12Speaker 3: But what it should be is all of that flows
- 27:14into actually evangelizing, so actually going and using those things
- 27:19to strengthen yourself to be in a position to actually
- 27:22share it all. And so that's kind of what the
- 27:26goal is every day, and that can look like anything.
- 27:29So like my example is just in my life because
- 27:32I work at a warehouse, I'm twenty two, still have
- 27:34at home, and so it's going to be different for
- 27:38every person, especially if you have a different religion or
- 27:41different faith. But the point is that these different aspects
- 27:45of life, it's like kind of like human life. And
- 27:47so then if you are in each of those areas
- 27:50doing something every day, you will be growing. And that's
- 27:54kind of like what the what the goal is just
- 27:57to have a more fulfilling life that's not so empty, meaningless, selfish,
- 28:01self absorbed, blind, lost, depressed, anxious, all of that. It's
- 28:06like this is supposed to be something that you can
- 28:08sort of cling onto that points you upwards and then
- 28:12you enjoy church aspire. So that's been my experience with
- 28:16it recently.
- 28:18Speaker 6: With the jokes you said a second ago, you said,
- 28:23like inspire, we do something.
- 28:26Speaker 1: With that has so he goes, So you what was it?
- 28:31Speaker 3: It's like spiritual inspire, physical perspire, intellectual, conspire or something
- 28:42like that, and then eventually it was evangelical Expire, which
- 28:46is to die.
- 28:46Speaker 1: For others, there's like a hole. He's got a whole thing.
- 28:49It'll be on a website at some point.
- 28:50Speaker 2: But yeah, so for me, you know, I'm not really
- 28:57want to do the whole memory AIDS thing.
- 29:00Speaker 4: That's never really.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Worked out for me in my schooling, so I'm like,
- 29:01why would it ever work out for anything else.
- 29:05Speaker 6: You've also just like super smart, so you don't like
- 29:08some of us are on like I just physicist.
- 29:11Speaker 4: Remember differently than like you know, strict memories. But like.
- 29:17Speaker 2: You know, after talking to Fulton and all this stuff
- 29:19about about Spire, it's made me think the past couple
- 29:21of weeks about like what I've been doing my day
- 29:23to day.
- 29:24Speaker 4: You know.
- 29:25Speaker 2: It's like spirituality is like what's my prayer life? Like
- 29:28what's my relationship with God?
- 29:30Speaker 4: In that way? And I see all the like ups
- 29:33and downs of it.
- 29:34Speaker 1: You know.
- 29:34Speaker 2: It's like I have a lot of habitual prayers that
- 29:37I say, but it's like do I actually pray them
- 29:40or do I just save them?
- 29:41Speaker 4: Because that's what I gotta do, is what I gotta do.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Wake up in the morning, save in morning prayers three
- 29:47minutes later, wait was say asleep for that? I don't know,
- 29:51but it's like there's a lot to unpack there, so
- 29:53I'm not going to get in depth there. For physicals, like,
- 29:57I've never been an inactive person, but like do I
- 29:59try to keep myself in good shape, not just to
- 30:03be like look good or feel good in that way,
- 30:06but just like as well as I'm saying, with all
- 30:08of the like discipline involved, like we're called to protect
- 30:12and care for the world, and we can't do that
- 30:14if we don't care for ourselves. So it's like those
- 30:17first two aspects of spirituality and physicality is to care
- 30:20for yourself in that order of first your soul than
- 30:24your body. But it's like you can't help others if
- 30:26you have nothing foundational. The next one is I, which
- 30:31is intellectual. I love reading books. I'm in graduate school
- 30:36and so it's like that's something that I do almost
- 30:39as my like job, some form of intellectual but not
- 30:45just in the like sciences, but also I'm a very
- 30:48like philosophical person, so I love like learning philosophy or
- 30:51talking to people about that type of stuff. So it's
- 30:53like that's something where I'm like, got that down, Probably not,
- 30:56but I'm doing something about that, at least.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Relational. I'll skip that because that's the hardest one for me.
- 31:05Speaker 6: That's hard something this is about growth.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Relations are like really hard.
- 31:14Speaker 2: It's a very difficult thing for me because I especially
- 31:19like when I was younger, I was much more beset
- 31:22by insecurities and being afraid that no one liked me
- 31:27or you know, it's like I had amazing friends, but
- 31:30the problem with having amazing friends is that they're really
- 31:33good people and they would act nice to someone they
- 31:35don't like. So that makes me thinks, like, oh am
- 31:39I like do they not like me? And they're just
- 31:41doing it because they're actually like really good people. Like no,
- 31:43I mean, yes, they're really good people. But like I
- 31:45had to get through a lot to understand that people
- 31:48actually enjoy being around me. But through the like foundation
- 31:52of what I had through my childhood and young adult life.
- 31:56It's just like now it's a lot harder for me too.
- 31:58It's not instinctual for me to pursue relationship with people.
- 32:03Like when I'm with someone, things happen and it's fine,
- 32:06it's good. Once I like step back and go back home.
- 32:09Speaker 4: For the day.
- 32:11Speaker 2: It's like I do not know how to pursue relation
- 32:13beyond that. So that's why it's hard for me, and
- 32:17that's what I want to work on most some people
- 32:20have different weaknesses.
- 32:22Speaker 4: That's one of my big ones.
- 32:24Speaker 2: And for evangelical evangelization, all those things, like as Fulton
- 32:30was saying, there's many different ways of doing it. It's
- 32:31not just like standing on the street corner proclaiming the gospel.
- 32:36It's like you proclaim the Gospel through your daily life.
- 32:40And so stuff that I've been doing recently is like
- 32:42there's some like Bible studies I'm in or other discussion
- 32:45type settings where I can go and just like listen
- 32:48to people. That's part of evangelizing, listen to them, understand them,
- 32:52and also to just share what I think and who
- 32:54I am. And in that way, it's just like we
- 32:57all grow closer together and we all learn and enjoy it.
- 33:01And then there's one aspect of evangelization, which is it
- 33:04is not necessary for evangelization to be towards someone else.
- 33:09You can evangelize yourself. You know, evangelizing is bringing the
- 33:13love of God to this world, right, So it's like
- 33:15you can evangelize to others, but you can also evangelize
- 33:18to yourself and all of these other things which build
- 33:20upon it. You know, you can build up yourself. But
- 33:22it's like you can bring the love of God into
- 33:24yourself through all of these different avenues. And so even
- 33:26such things like having a discussion with yourself, which is
- 33:31a normal thing that some people do, I know, to
- 33:33it's not weird.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Having a discussion of yourself is just like.
- 33:41Speaker 6: Sorry, I don't do this, but not like with your hands,
- 33:44but you just like in the car, you're just like,
- 33:46how are you doing to that? Michael, Just like not
- 33:49like that exactly, but you just like you can talk
- 33:51to yourself. It's not it's not always weird. Sometimes it is.
- 33:55Speaker 1: It's not always weird, but.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Just like to evangelize the self. And so the past
- 34:00couple of weeks I've noticed more like of the evangelization
- 34:03of the like little ways you just share who you
- 34:05are and what Christ means to you.
- 34:08Speaker 4: And it doesn't have to be saying have you heard
- 34:12the work think of I don't know.
- 34:14Speaker 1: What this is.
- 34:14Speaker 6: Do you have time for Jesus Christ, your Lord and
- 34:16Savior or something like that.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Yeah, something like that.
- 34:18Speaker 2: It's like it doesn't have to be that way. Now
- 34:20there are people who are called to do it that way,
- 34:22and that's amazing. It's probably a lot more impactful if
- 34:25it's done rightly. But like, what's truly important in this world?
- 34:29We are not all called to be like that. If
- 34:32everyone was called to knock on the doors proclaiming the gospel,
- 34:34then they'd be knocking on empty houses.
- 34:37Speaker 4: And nothing would happen.
- 34:38Speaker 6: That's true.
- 34:40Speaker 2: But through living a life of love and to have
- 34:44someone look at you and be like, what do you have?
- 34:47Speaker 4: Like you are special? I want what you have and
- 34:51I'll tell you what we got. If you look at me.
- 34:53Speaker 1: That way, I'll tell you what we've got. We have
- 34:58the LEAs.
- 35:01Speaker 4: And the meat is the Eucharist.
- 35:04Speaker 1: It's bread, but it's not it's not that way.
- 35:08Speaker 6: It's huge.
- 35:08Speaker 4: It is meat.
- 35:11Speaker 6: I did not see that the company, but look at
- 35:16the way the Lord that inspired that was that was
- 35:19inspired that was That was brilliant.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Wow, I really.
- 35:25Speaker 3: I really like the emphasis on evangelizing is not like
- 35:32there's an aspect to it that's like, hey, here's the
- 35:34gospel message and have you heard about Jesus? Because there
- 35:38I've got a friend who owns his own tree cutting business,
- 35:43and so he hires guys that are like basically laborers,
- 35:47and he's like, they've never even heard of God. Then
- 35:50they're like adults, which is just a weird you know,
- 35:53It's like they have no idea, there's no more conception
- 35:55because it's it's kept out of everything, and.
- 35:58Speaker 1: So there's an ass to that that is important.
- 36:01Speaker 3: But I think what I've learned is that people will
- 36:05never wait the What there's a saying for that. It's
- 36:08people don't care what you think until they think till
- 36:11they people don't.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Care what you know until they know that you care.
- 36:15Speaker 3: So it's it's having a relationship with somebody which is
- 36:18just a basic human relationship where you're not judging them
- 36:22or condemning them, but just being with them and being
- 36:26interested in who they are. Because I think the thing
- 36:29that people want the most in the world is to
- 36:31be seen and to be loved for like who they are,
- 36:35beyond even what they present to you. And like, I
- 36:38think to be able to do that for people and
- 36:41be with strangers or be with friends even and see
- 36:43them for who they are and love them there in
- 36:46those places, that is that's really evangelizing. Did I say
- 36:53how I forget where I was going with that. But
- 36:55it's that to me is like what actually evangelizing is.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I mean, don't you think I feel like it? That's
- 37:00just not really how we were.
- 37:02Speaker 3: I wasn't really raised to think of evangelizing that way.
- 37:05Speaker 6: Yeah, I agree with that, And I like, going last
- 37:10kind of sucks because you guys have already said like basically.
- 37:12Speaker 4: Everything that.
- 37:15Speaker 6: There are a couple of things you said that I
- 37:16really want to hit so like spiritual, like you said,
- 37:22I'm actually praying the prayers or am I just saying them?
- 37:25That you said that, and that honestly was one of
- 37:28the things I was like thinking about, Like I said,
- 37:31the whole thing about, like am I going out of
- 37:33my way to like do more than I need to
- 37:35be doing? Because like you can just like the bar
- 37:39isn't like most people think like the bar is like here,
- 37:42but like regardless of where the bar is, your bar
- 37:45should be here. You should be trying to go above
- 37:47and beyond and going above and beyond for you might
- 37:51not be going out and knocking on people's doors and
- 37:53sharing gospel with them. It might be praying the prayers
- 37:58because it's so easy. I feel like and this. You know,
- 38:02maybe this is gonna be controversial album. Here's my first
- 38:05hot taste. I think with Catholics especially, it's really easy
- 38:10to like you're saying the Rosary, you say ten hil
- 38:12marys in a row, and it's really easy to kind
- 38:15of just like get lost in it and just be
- 38:17like her or just like during it, or I can't
- 38:22fall asleep during That's a whole nother thing. Really, if
- 38:25I start it, I need to finish it. It's like
- 38:28a mental thing. But like it's really easy to just
- 38:30like say it and you're just.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Like, oh my gosh, I've got nine more.
- 38:34Speaker 6: Just like I've got nine more. For the first decades,
- 38:37you just like you have to push yourself through it.
- 38:38So like having a high bar for you might not
- 38:42be going out and doing all that stuff. It might
- 38:43be just making sure that you're intentional about the prayers
- 38:48you're saying. So like that and when you said that,
- 38:50remind me like that's one of the big things that
- 38:52I was thinking about. But then obviously all the other
- 38:56spiritual stuff you guys said as well. Second physical for me,
- 39:01so I hurt my UCL so I can't like work
- 39:04out or anything. But even just little things like trying
- 39:09to make sure I'm drinking water instead of just like
- 39:11waking up and you slam an energy drink and you know,
- 39:13you might have a peanut butter sandwich and you just
- 39:15like going through day. Like I've noticed that when I'm drinking,
- 39:20like I got this big water bottle, I'm just like,
- 39:22if I drink that whole thing, I'm like way happier.
- 39:27I'm just like if I like happiness. It's crazy when
- 39:31you think about it, Like God gave us everything on
- 39:34this earth that we need to be happy. We don't
- 39:35need all this like processed stuff. It's good sometimes, but
- 39:38like if I just drink, you know, a gallon of water,
- 39:42I'm way happier and I feel physically way better. I
- 39:45don't get all jittery because I just had a bang
- 39:48when I woke up and then like didn't eat anything
- 39:50all day, so like I haven't been able to do
- 39:54like because I'm hurt. I can't do the physical physical stuff.
- 39:56But even just like little things, it keeps.
- 39:59Speaker 4: On scaring that the screen is off but was still recording.
- 40:03That's probably why it's moving. Is it a sign that
- 40:05it's going to go to sleep?
- 40:06Speaker 3: Though, I'll tell you to take it, don't break it.
- 40:15Speaker 4: We are experiencing some technically never mind it's plugged in.
- 40:18Speaker 1: That's so weird. It usually never does that.
- 40:21Speaker 6: Uh, I can't do like physical physical stuff, but even
- 40:25just little things when you take it, you know, the
- 40:28classic things like your body is a temple, you should
- 40:30treat it like it is. But like even just little
- 40:32things like making sure you drink enough water, like that's
- 40:34been the biggest thing. Look, drink all of it already. Yeah,
- 40:41So that's physical.
- 40:42Speaker 4: Thing that I've been like focusing that is really good
- 40:45is intellectual.
- 40:47Speaker 6: So I'm a pizza delivery driver and I drive for hours,
- 40:53like multiple nights a week. I get tired of listening
- 40:57to the same songs over and over again. So like
- 40:59for me, it's been uh, like my favorite class in
- 41:03high school was mister Cobb, the apologetics class. I want
- 41:08to talk to mister Cobb on here something, mister Cobb,
- 41:11that would be my favorite experience ever. But it was
- 41:15the apologetics class. And I've been like, instead of listening
- 41:18to music, I'll like find a two hour long debate
- 41:24on the existence of God and I'll listen to that
- 41:27instead of and be like John Lennox and Richard Dawkins.
- 41:30I just listened to them come back and forth. It's fired.
- 41:34It's like I listened to Richard Dawkins. I'm like, dang,
- 41:36I've never thought about that before, Like what if that's
- 41:39And then John Lennox is just like, well, here's the
- 41:42way I see it, and I'm just like yeah, but
- 41:46like that's another thing. Is just like my favorite thing
- 41:51was always apologetics, and just like I never really went
- 41:54anywhere with it, but like now I'm trying to like
- 41:56kind of grow that and like learn more about it.
- 41:58And the more I learned about it, it's like the
- 42:01more I'm like, wow, like this is actually true, and
- 42:03there's like intellectual, like logical ways to kind of like
- 42:07get to this without you know, you can use this
- 42:11personal spiritual stuff, but like you can use your intellect
- 42:14to arrive at this destination. I was like, I got
- 42:18here way early. I got here like forty five minutes earlier,
- 42:22and I was just sitting in my car outside and again,
- 42:24John Lennox's amazing just today, yeah, because I I'm almost
- 42:30like twenty minutes away.
- 42:31Speaker 4: Yeah, and I have a class that I couldn't get to.
- 42:33Speaker 6: Live it anyway. I was sitting in the car listening
- 42:36to Jordan Peterson John Lennox talk.
- 42:38Speaker 3: About Jordan Peterson and John Lennox, I came out like today, Wow.
- 42:44Speaker 6: It's like and I love listening conversations that I don't understand.
- 42:48It's like when Jordan Peterson talks, it's like I don't
- 42:51know what he's saying halftime, but like that's the good
- 42:53part of it. Is just like I'm pushing my intellect
- 42:57and like, so instead of just listening to this music
- 43:00over and over again, I'll listen to that kind of
- 43:02stuff because it really just kind of like pushes me
- 43:04and it makes me like ask questions that I've never
- 43:07really thought about. Interesting, it's the next one relational. I'm
- 43:12kind of like you. And also when you said like
- 43:16when you were younger, you were a lot more like
- 43:17close off and like we're always wanna like you're all
- 43:20the self esteems you're like two people like me. And
- 43:22it's like, I think that's why we got along so well,
- 43:24because like you would be hiding in the corner, but
- 43:27I was over there with you because I didn't want
- 43:28to be talking to anybody either.
- 43:30Speaker 4: Do you want to be alone together? Exactly?
- 43:32Speaker 6: What it was so like we're really similar always, so
- 43:34kind of everything you said with that is like I
- 43:36feel like I'm kind of naturally just like not like
- 43:40closed off. But I don't like talk about stuff like
- 43:43that very much, and so that's kind of a hard
- 43:46thing for me too. But like just little things, I'm
- 43:50still not good at it. In case my family watches this,
- 43:53you know, I'm not gonna sit here and be like
- 43:55I'm perfect and all my relationships are amazing, but like
- 43:59I'm just trying to do little things where it's like
- 44:01instead of like keeping yourself closed off, it's just like
- 44:05maybe you talk about something with this person, you show them,
- 44:08like you know, everybody's always saying like, oh I'm here
- 44:11for you, like actually kind of like acting on that
- 44:13and being like.
- 44:14Speaker 4: What does that like actually practically look like?
- 44:17Speaker 6: I mean, like just for me. Just again, I'm still
- 44:20not like great going on my way to start conversations,
- 44:23but like if somebody tries to talk to me, just
- 44:25like instead of being like, oh.
- 44:27Speaker 4: Yeah, that's cool, and I'm just like coming back to
- 44:29whatever I was doing.
- 44:30Speaker 6: Just like trying to be more like involved in like
- 44:34they say something instead of just going to go that's cool,
- 44:36I like ask questions about it. I'm just trying to,
- 44:39like instead of because it's so easy for me to
- 44:42just like.
- 44:44Speaker 4: I'm gonna keep on talking forever. I had a conversation, what.
- 44:47Speaker 6: Time is it?
- 44:48Speaker 1: Okay?
- 44:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I had a conversation with my mom and my
- 44:51little sister and we were talking, and then my sister
- 44:55was like, let's have a competition.
- 44:57Speaker 4: We'll see who can be quiet the longest, and I
- 44:59was like, you know, I'm gonna win.
- 45:00Speaker 6: I can. I could literally not talk for the rest
- 45:02of the that And it's not like I'm trying to
- 45:03be like closed off. It's just like that's naturally kind
- 45:06of how I am. So just like trying to if
- 45:09somebody tries to talk to me, just trying to talk back,
- 45:13like don't just like shut it down and just like
- 45:16move on with your life. Just like if they're showing interest,
- 45:20it's because they want to talk to you kind of thing.
- 45:22So just like putting in the extra effort, I guess,
- 45:25and then that all works back into the evangelical thing.
- 45:29And you guys kind of already covered all that. But
- 45:32one thing I do want to say is.
- 45:34Speaker 4: Like I think.
- 45:35Speaker 6: You kind of said this, but just like to put
- 45:37it in a little bit like of a smaller thing,
- 45:39so I don't take up more time explaining you all again,
- 45:42you said, like it doesn't have to be outward. You
- 45:45can like evangelize yourself, but I think that even that
- 45:51ends up being like an like an hour kind of evangelization,
- 45:55because like, if you truly believe what you're saying, then
- 46:01it's gonna.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Show even if you don't say that loud, Like if.
- 46:03Speaker 6: You fully embrace the reality of God's love for you
- 46:10and your heart, you without saying a word, that's going
- 46:14to show to other people. So like just being you,
- 46:18fully embracing all that is gonna work wonders with other people.
- 46:23And it's just like somebody that might walk up to
- 46:25you and they're just like, you know, it made my day,
- 46:28Like how you did this thing. You didn't even think
- 46:29about it because it's just like how you are living
- 46:32your life, which is kind of that's a good way
- 46:34to get back to just like tying in all three
- 46:37of our things.
- 46:37Speaker 4: It's like it's about the way you live your life.
- 46:40Speaker 6: And that's kind of just what this is all about.
- 46:42I guess it's trying to help you live your life
- 46:44in that meaningful way that's gonna shine through and like.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Show itself to others.
- 46:49Speaker 6: Look at the way we just keep on tying.
- 46:52Speaker 4: It's almost life can make sense.
- 46:54Speaker 6: It's almost like that sometimes.
- 46:56Speaker 2: And I think a really cool thing is like like
- 46:58with three different people, Like, well, we're all like raised Catholic,
- 47:00we've had different lives and like we've done different things
- 47:03in our lives and we've split off and our ways
- 47:06of approaching what life is now. But like you might think, oh,
- 47:09you're just all raised Catholics, so you all have the
- 47:10same ideas and ways to think about it, Like, no,
- 47:12we're very completely different. You notice that just with this
- 47:14idea of a spire, with the five five, there's.
- 47:21Speaker 6: Seven different way inspire.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Yes, But like with these five different things, all of
- 47:27us were like focusing on different things. We don't like,
- 47:30where we struggle is different, and where we are strong
- 47:33is different, and how we approach things is different. And
- 47:35I think it's just really cool that we have these
- 47:36different like outlooks on life. Even though you might be like,
- 47:39but you're all Catholic and you all grew up Catholic,
- 47:43and it's like, do you actually have any experience Like yeah,
- 47:47just like even though we all did that it's like
- 47:48we're all unique and dignified enough to have these differences,
- 47:53and I think that's amazing.
- 47:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, I feel like there's this idea that
- 48:00it's like we're human beings. So it's like we've gone
- 48:03through and seen certain things, done certain things. We've all
- 48:08got very unique roads that we're on, and what we
- 48:13have in common just isn't like, oh, I'm a part.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Of this belief system, but it's like what.
- 48:17Speaker 3: We have in common is we all identify as being
- 48:21with the body of Christ.
- 48:23Speaker 1: And but but after that.
- 48:26Speaker 3: We are each very different people and so we'll have
- 48:30a lot of similarities.
- 48:31Speaker 1: But it was interesting to see it's like, oh no,
- 48:33we all kind of have We're all going to.
- 48:36Speaker 3: Be approaching the same aims from totally different angles, but
- 48:42it's all going up.
- 48:46Speaker 4: It's like a tripod.
- 48:50Speaker 1: Nice.
- 48:53Speaker 4: It's like that Star Wars thing that goes that's the
- 48:57death Star laser.
- 48:59Speaker 1: But imagine it pointed out though, and it was like.
- 49:01Speaker 6: It's just like that'th starlinzer and something over here.
- 49:03Speaker 4: It's like a here and it's good, not the life star.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Yeah, Star Wars brought to you by.
- 49:16Speaker 3: That's so then the goal is basically we're going to
- 49:18go through s p i r E.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Right, s r E.
- 49:23Speaker 4: Don't forget it.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Oh it's good.
- 49:28Speaker 4: Oh time.
- 49:37Speaker 3: So anyway, I was, I guess we'll just go through
- 49:39the s p i r E as sort of our
- 49:42first episodes, basically talking about whatever comes up that has
- 49:46to do with our own experience, and then sort of
- 49:50things that we've learned or things of value that we
- 49:52think each other might like gain from, because I think
- 49:55while it's still a podcast, I think it's still important
- 49:58to remember like it is a conversation though, and so
- 50:02then we're going to just go through those, and then
- 50:04it kind of opens up to like whatever things are
- 50:07of interest to us and our perspective at this age
- 50:10are professionally uneducated opinions basically whatever we've got on our
- 50:15hearts and just sort of being honest and straight up
- 50:21about our journey through life with its ups and its
- 50:23downs and the mess that it is.
- 50:25Speaker 1: But also like how we find beauty as regular people that.
- 50:30Speaker 3: Are just trying to like do the right thing and
- 50:33figure out what's going on, get through the world, navigate
- 50:36it all. Know that we're loved, love other people, and
- 50:39so that's my are, my are, that's.
- 50:43Speaker 4: A lot in that life is a lot. Yeah, and
- 50:48it's better that way.
- 50:50Speaker 2: If it was not a lot, we would get over
- 50:52it in like two days, and then we'd be bored
- 50:54out of our minds.
- 50:56Speaker 4: There'd be no point in anything. At this point.
- 51:00Speaker 1: There's a point at the top of a spire.
- 51:02Speaker 7: Also, it's not connected. It all comes back. Uh. So basically,
- 51:12we're gonna just go for that.
- 51:14Speaker 1: That's gonna.
- 51:16Speaker 4: Five videos. No continue, sorry, do whatever.
- 51:21Speaker 6: That's different.
- 51:22Speaker 3: I don't know what if we're talking, I was saying
- 51:24we're going to go for that, and then I was
- 51:25just thinking, like, what's like a pun of popping out
- 51:28of the ground or you know, go for go for
- 51:33I don't know.
- 51:35Speaker 1: Did you get it? I was all right, never mind that.
- 51:39Speaker 3: So so that's what we're going to try to do then.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Uh And in the next one we're gonna start with
- 51:44spiritual sort of.
- 51:45Speaker 3: I think I think a good focus of spiritual would
- 51:49be how to pray or how you pray the praying.
- 51:56So I think that that's what we'll do in the
- 51:57next one, and then we'll just kind of let it
- 51:59flow as we get Oh, do we have a website
- 52:02spire today dot com that'll have we're gonna be uploading
- 52:05this to YouTube and Spotify and all that, but it
- 52:09will also be on the website and then there's gonna
- 52:12be the goal is to have more resources on there
- 52:15on one spot and then there's like shirts and stuff.
- 52:18If you want to buy a shirt, it looks like
- 52:19this little thing and then yeah, that's I mean that's
- 52:25all that I got. Yeah, we can talk more about it.
- 52:28Speaker 6: I'm going to start on Instagram also, it'll be by
- 52:31the time this is on platforms, we.
- 52:33Speaker 3: Actually have Inspired Today, so do you. Yeah, it's called
- 52:37Inspire Today. Actually got suspended for some reason.
- 52:40Speaker 6: I got to get called Inspire Today Podcast. Okay, so
- 52:46it'll be Inspire Today Podcast on Instagram. It will be
- 52:51probably that on YouTube as well, and then if we
- 52:55do more other things, then we'll say that on the
- 52:58website or a hand some point. Yeah, that's kind of
- 53:01that's so if they just like know what to search
- 53:03for and then you just do that. So yeah, post
- 53:06clips on there, might have like some question things on
- 53:09Instagram and whatever, so make sure you follow those and subscribe.
- 53:14Hit the button to follow this whatever platform.
- 53:18Speaker 8: Smash like the classic outro like subscribingation, do right things
- 53:29all the things Nick, you got.
- 53:32Speaker 4: I got no outro. Those are amazing outros.
- 53:34Speaker 2: And I could tell you to subscribe to stuff, but
- 53:36all I'm gonna tell you is talk to people, have
- 53:39a good conversation.
- 53:41Speaker 1: Start a podcast.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Start a podcast. Yo, if you guys start a podcast,
- 53:45I'll listen to it. I might not depends on how
- 53:47many of those are.
- 53:49Speaker 6: But then this gets like a billion views. They're like,
- 53:51I'm gonna start watch.
- 53:55Speaker 2: I guess I know what my job is now. But no,
- 53:58just like, think about inspire and yourself and just like
- 54:01let it sit in the back of your mind. Yeah,
- 54:04over the next set amount of time, two minutes, ten minutes,
- 54:08two years, however much, but just like something something to
- 54:11like let yourself like notice, it's just like, oh and
- 54:15me talking with this person this way. I did some
- 54:17form of evangelization, and honestly, it makes me feel good
- 54:21and joyful and happy. And isn't that what we all
- 54:24want to be happy?
- 54:28Speaker 4: So be happy.
- 54:30Speaker 6: That's some good advice. I like, just do it.
- 54:33Speaker 4: That's terrible advice.
- 54:36Speaker 3: Okay, well sweet, that's that's our goal. It's been Nick
- 54:41Fulton and Michael Should we say outro prayer?
- 54:47Speaker 5: That's an outro prayer, right out, prayers, Oh I, let
- 54:49the interests are, we can switch around next week.
- 54:51Speaker 4: Something else to do here? Can they have a father? Lord?
- 54:55Speaker 2: Thank you for this conversation between us, and we pray
- 54:59that this and whatever we do in the future might
- 55:03speak to just one heart and it'll all be worth it.
- 55:07To change one person's life would make this all worthwhile,
- 55:15and we pray that it may be done in a
- 55:19holy and loving manner centered around you.
- 55:23Speaker 4: Amen. Amen, Amen, Pee so
