- 0:10Speaker 1: It's the Robert Report.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Robert Murray fans Aided Insider, FT Insider joining us right now.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Robert.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Great to catch up with you again, and let's actually
- 0:18Speaker 2: start with the Orioles.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Do you think they're done? Do you like the Bassett signing?
- 0:22Speaker 2: Do you like the overall offseason for a team that
- 0:24Speaker 2: was a massive disappointment last year and they did something
- 0:26Speaker 2: about it.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Yeah, good to be here with you, boys. I love
- 0:30Speaker 3: what they've done. They were talking about this offseason being
- 0:33Speaker 3: super aggressive and trying to really upgrade this team by
- 0:36Speaker 3: signing guys, trading for guys, and they made it clear
- 0:39Speaker 3: they wanted a frontline starter, they wanted to upgrade the bullpen,
- 0:43Speaker 3: and they wanted to also upgrade the offense. And they
- 0:45Speaker 3: set out to do that and they've done all of it,
- 0:48Speaker 3: and it wasn't just it wasn't band aid solutions by
- 0:51Speaker 3: any means. They ended up adding guys who can end
- 0:53Speaker 3: up impacting them long term. They tried it for Kyle Schwarber.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Obviously that didn't end up working out, but then they
- 0:58Speaker 3: turn around and signed Pete A. Lonzo, They got Shane Boz,
- 1:02Speaker 3: they traded for Taylor Ward, They've signed Ryan Hillesley they've
- 1:05Speaker 3: added a bunch of different players to that team, and
- 1:08Speaker 3: most recently now with Chris Bassett, and I had heard
- 1:12Speaker 3: he was seeking around twenty million a year, and he
- 1:14Speaker 3: ends up getting right around that at eighteen point five
- 1:17Speaker 3: million on a one year deal. You can never really
- 1:19Speaker 3: go wrong with that, and he's proven in that division.
- 1:22Speaker 3: You know exactly what you're going to get one year
- 1:25Speaker 3: deal like that, and then you pair him with a
- 1:26Speaker 3: guy like Boz who obviously they gave up a lot
- 1:30Speaker 3: to get him from Tampa Bay, but internally they view
- 1:33Speaker 3: him as a guy who can be so much more
- 1:36Speaker 3: than what he's already been that he can be a
- 1:37Speaker 3: frontline starter. So overall, I love what they've done. They've
- 1:42Speaker 3: been aggressive. I don't think they're probably gonna end up
- 1:44Speaker 3: doing much more, if any like if it is, it's
- 1:47Speaker 3: not going to be anything too substantial, I don't believe,
- 1:49Speaker 3: but I do think you look at it, I could
- 1:52Speaker 3: see them making some noise in that division. They've added
- 1:55Speaker 3: enough pieces to a roster that's already had a lot
- 1:58Speaker 3: of talent, a lot of young town. I know they've
- 2:00Speaker 3: had the injury bug, but from everyone that they've added,
- 2:03Speaker 3: and now you have a new manager in Craig Albernaz
- 2:05Speaker 3: who people around him or just around that organization are
- 2:08Speaker 3: super high on what he can be as that manager.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I'm buying stock in the orals. I really like what
- 2:12Speaker 3: they've done.
- 2:14Speaker 4: That's that's awesome. I Mean, the biggest thing for me
- 2:17Speaker 4: is what they know, what they run in. But can
- 2:18Speaker 4: the guys take the big step?
- 2:20Speaker 5: Right?
- 2:20Speaker 4: The Holidays take the next step? Athlete come back to
- 2:22Speaker 4: what he was right, Gunner. Gunner got off to a
- 2:25Speaker 4: rough start last year. They need Westburgh to be big.
- 2:27Speaker 4: They need some of the guys mount Castle or whoever,
- 2:29Speaker 4: you know, whatever his role is on this team, right,
- 2:31Speaker 4: they need these guys to jump in and be big
- 2:34Speaker 4: pieces and take the next step. You mentioned their new manager.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Can he help them do that? Can he help these
- 2:39Speaker 4: guys take the next step?
- 2:42Speaker 3: I totally believe he can. And you talk to people
- 2:44Speaker 3: around Cleveland and he was super highly regarded for obviously
- 2:48Speaker 3: what he helped with Stephen Vote as the manager there,
- 2:51Speaker 3: but also just the way that that organization as a
- 2:53Speaker 3: whole was able to maximize players in Cleveland. And now
- 2:57Speaker 3: he's got a much higher payroll, He's got higher level
- 3:00Speaker 3: talent in Baltimore than he had in Cleveland. So I
- 3:03Speaker 3: do believe they're in a better position now to maximize
- 3:07Speaker 3: those abilities to end up trying to take that next step.
- 3:09Speaker 3: And that's a big reason why they hired him, Especially
- 3:12Speaker 3: a guy like Ali Rutchman, who number one overall pick,
- 3:15Speaker 3: really hasn't lived up to that hype that he had.
- 3:18Speaker 3: There's been a bunch of well entering the off season,
- 3:20Speaker 3: there was a bunch of trade roomors surrounding him, and
- 3:23Speaker 3: I didn't view the Orioles as a candidate to really
- 3:25Speaker 3: sell low on him. They still believe in him totally.
- 3:29Speaker 3: But that being said, like it's I think it's fair
- 3:32Speaker 3: to say that his tenure as Orioles manager could be
- 3:36Speaker 3: defined by how guys like Holiday or Rutchman or some
- 3:39Speaker 3: of these other guys if they take the next step
- 3:41Speaker 3: or not.
- 3:42Speaker 6: A managers alway as good as his players. Robert, So
- 3:45Speaker 6: you've cracked the code, like some other people refuse to
- 3:49Speaker 6: think that people can crack the code. Let's go to
- 3:51Speaker 6: the Pirates. You think they had a good offseason? Correct?
- 3:55Speaker 3: I do? I love it? Yeah? I do?
- 3:59Speaker 6: Is it enough? Did they do enough to be what
- 4:02Speaker 6: they need to be with a Paul Schins on their
- 4:05Speaker 6: roster which is a playoff team.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I mean I said it on the last show. I
- 4:09Speaker 3: can't remember if it was a j or Todd who
- 4:11Speaker 3: ended up giving me flack for calling the Pirates a
- 4:13Speaker 3: playoff team. I do think actually, I think it was
- 4:16Speaker 3: Todd now that I really think about it.
- 4:17Speaker 5: Here, I'll give you fla. I give you there we Go.
- 4:21Speaker 3: I mean, there we go. I would It wouldn't be
- 4:23Speaker 3: on Fall Territory if I wasn't getting some flak for
- 4:25Speaker 3: some of the stuff I said about the Pirates. So
- 4:27Speaker 3: it's good. It's good to be back boys. But anyways,
- 4:31Speaker 3: I love what they've done. They this offseason. They really
- 4:34Speaker 3: wanted to go out and upgrade the offense, and they
- 4:38Speaker 3: got Ryan O'Hearn. They've made some trades to upgrade the
- 4:42Speaker 3: roster as well, and now they're bring in Marcelo Zuna
- 4:46Speaker 3: to pair him with Brandon Law and some of these
- 4:47Speaker 3: other guys. And defensively, you may not be what you
- 4:52Speaker 3: were last year, but offensively, you got to think that
- 4:54Speaker 3: floor for that for the run scoring there is going
- 4:57Speaker 3: to be way higher than it once was, and that
- 5:00Speaker 3: that's really what they set out to do. They obviously
- 5:01Speaker 3: ended up targeting some bigger names. They were interested in
- 5:05Speaker 3: Kyle Schwarber that obviously didn't end up happening. From Bervaldez
- 5:08Speaker 3: was a player that they actually were on the entire offseason,
- 5:12Speaker 3: and they were maybe wondering if or maybe hoping that
- 5:15Speaker 3: they can end up pouncing on an opportunity. Obviously, he
- 5:17Speaker 3: ended up going to the Detroit Tigers in a deal
- 5:21Speaker 3: that really ended up bolstering that rotation. But they've added
- 5:24Speaker 3: three meaningful guys to that lineup. I would imagine like
- 5:29Speaker 3: they'll still try to be in some conversations to maybe
- 5:32Speaker 3: upgrade the third base, but I would also look at
- 5:34Speaker 3: starting pitching and also like bullpen depth as areas that
- 5:38Speaker 3: they could try to target here as well. But from
- 5:40Speaker 3: an overall offseason standpoint, they really wanted to upgrade the offense.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I believe they did that, and that is why I'm
- 5:47Speaker 3: higher this year than I've ever been with the Pirates
- 5:50Speaker 3: about their playoff chances. Obviously, you got to prove it
- 5:52Speaker 3: on the field, but also I mentioned Craig albernaz is
- 5:55Speaker 3: a guy that I was really high on with Baltimore.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Everything I've heard about the new manager there in Don
- 6:00Speaker 3: Kelly with the Pirates, I like obviously spring training is
- 6:05Speaker 3: just starting. Everyone's optimistic. But people around Pittsburgh really like him,
- 6:09Speaker 3: So I'm buying stock in the Pirates.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Everyone always likes the new manager, Robert. Don't you know
- 6:13Speaker 4: that everyone loves a new manager because they're not the
- 6:16Speaker 4: old manager. So yeah, listen, I love Don Kelly. He's great, Okay,
- 6:19Speaker 4: But I'm just you're high on the Pirates. We love
- 6:22Speaker 4: what the Pirates have done. They've spent money, they've made trades,
- 6:24Speaker 4: they've done all these things. But give me, are they
- 6:27Speaker 4: better than We're just gonna run? Are they better than
- 6:29Speaker 4: the Dodgers?
- 6:31Speaker 3: No?
- 6:32Speaker 5: They better than the Mets?
- 6:34Speaker 3: No?
- 6:35Speaker 5: Are they better than the Phillies?
- 6:37Speaker 3: No?
- 6:38Speaker 5: Are they better than the Cubs?
- 6:40Speaker 3: No?
- 6:41Speaker 5: Okay? Are they better than the Brewers?
- 6:44Speaker 3: I don't believe. So I think I would put.
- 6:46Speaker 5: Them better than the Braves because I'm just I just
- 6:48Speaker 5: keep going. Are they better than the Braves?
- 6:52Speaker 3: No?
- 6:52Speaker 4: Okay, Well they're six we haven't even gone Padres Diamondbacks. Right,
- 6:58Speaker 4: I'm just saying they're gonna make the playoffs. I could
- 7:01Speaker 4: see that one hundred percent. We didn't get to the Reds.
- 7:04Speaker 4: You did make the playoffs last year, right, and the division?
- 7:07Speaker 4: My question for you. This is where I get into this.
- 7:09Speaker 4: The National League is a bitch. Okay, the National League.
- 7:13Speaker 6: Is a bitch.
- 7:14Speaker 4: They're not in the AL Central, right, They're in the
- 7:17Speaker 4: NL Central when they actually Cubs and Brewers are pretty
- 7:19Speaker 4: good and the Reds. People forget, three teams from the
- 7:21Speaker 4: NL Central made the playoffs last year. So yes, I
- 7:25Speaker 4: understand what they did, but isn't it enough to get
- 7:27Speaker 4: them into the postseason.
- 7:30Speaker 5: It might be a big stretch.
- 7:32Speaker 3: No, it's it's it might be. It might be a stretch,
- 7:35Speaker 3: And like, maybe I'm drinking the kool aid here for sure,
- 7:38Speaker 3: But there's always surprises that come with the regular season
- 7:42Speaker 3: and everything like that, where injuries happen, under performances end
- 7:45Speaker 3: up happening, and I could see if there's ever a
- 7:47Speaker 3: team that can go out and take advantage of that,
- 7:50Speaker 3: I could see that end up being the Pirates because shoot,
- 7:52Speaker 3: like obviously we're talking about their their offense being better,
- 7:56Speaker 3: but their rotation when you have that kind of pitching
- 7:59Speaker 3: and that kind of like high level talent that can
- 8:02Speaker 3: get you, that can sneak you into the postseason and
- 8:04Speaker 3: really make you a postseason matchup nightmare. So I don't
- 8:07Speaker 3: know who exactly they're going to displace, like the fact
- 8:09Speaker 3: that I mean, shoot you, you said it better than
- 8:11Speaker 3: I could about the National League and just the overall
- 8:14Speaker 3: state of it. It's going to be tough, but they're
- 8:17Speaker 3: better positioned to make some noise now than they have
- 8:20Speaker 3: than they have ever been.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Aja.

- 9:21Speaker 2: FT one zero FM.
- 9:24Speaker 6: All right, let's hit some of the starting pitchers there
- 9:26Speaker 6: are still in the free agent market, namely Zach Gowan.
- 9:30Speaker 6: Is this going to be boring and he's just going
- 9:32Speaker 6: to go back to Diamondbacks because they're the only team
- 9:35Speaker 6: that wouldn't get a draft pick. But essentially they lose
- 9:38Speaker 6: a draft pick because at the end of this year
- 9:41Speaker 6: they couldn't get one.
- 9:42Speaker 3: From him now for sure, And I do think there's
- 9:47Speaker 3: a better chance of him returning now, especially with the
- 9:50Speaker 3: Orioles going out and getting Chris Bassett than there has
- 9:52Speaker 3: been this winter. And like you look at the rest
- 9:56Speaker 3: of the potential market for a guy like him, like
- 9:58Speaker 3: the San Diego Padres have been connected to him, I
- 10:01Speaker 3: don't necessarily know if they have the funds to go
- 10:02Speaker 3: out and do something quite like that, so ill we'll
- 10:06Speaker 3: see there. The team that I like that I think,
- 10:10Speaker 3: I don't believe they're going to be in on Gallen,
- 10:13Speaker 3: but I think the Atlanta Braves should explore that because
- 10:17Speaker 3: we'll get into that here in a little bit, I believe.
- 10:19Speaker 3: But they need starting pitching help, and I think that'd
- 10:22Speaker 3: be a tremendous fit for them. The Los Angeles Angels
- 10:24Speaker 3: need some pitching help too, and I could see them
- 10:28Speaker 3: being in on a different level of player than Gallen.
- 10:30Speaker 3: So I do believe like there's gonna be other teams
- 10:33Speaker 3: that are gonna be interested in here in Gallen. For sure.
- 10:36Speaker 3: He's a very good pitcher player who's very familiar with Arizona,
- 10:40Speaker 3: came up with it with that organization, and the money
- 10:43Speaker 3: is not lined up to the point where he's been
- 10:45Speaker 3: able to sign with them or just anywhere else. But
- 10:47Speaker 3: the longery lingers in the market, to me, the odds
- 10:50Speaker 3: of him returning to Arizona increase. So that is one
- 10:53Speaker 3: that I'm watching for sure.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Obviously, anything that happens in spring training, you know people, Oh, well,
- 10:58Speaker 6: who's available Zach Gallen. If I say the name the
- 11:02Speaker 6: Phillies with Zach Wheeler maybe not making his first few starts,
- 11:06Speaker 6: the fact that they have a rookie in Andrew Paynter,
- 11:10Speaker 6: that's essentially all but put into this rotation doesn't show
- 11:15Speaker 6: well in spring training. And Gallen's essentially from Philly, grew
- 11:19Speaker 6: up in South Jersey, He's a local kid. Do you
- 11:22Speaker 6: see that or do you feel like the Phillies payroll
- 11:25Speaker 6: is tapped out right now?
- 11:28Speaker 3: I don't. To me, it should be tapped out because
- 11:30Speaker 3: they had the money to go out and sign Bobaschet
- 11:32Speaker 3: for two hundred million, So they clearly have money to
- 11:34Speaker 3: spend if the right opportunity goes out and presents itself.
- 11:37Speaker 3: So to me, they shouldn't be ruled out for any
- 11:40Speaker 3: of these players. But I have not heard the Phillies
- 11:42Speaker 3: linked to Gallon at all in free agency. It doesn't
- 11:45Speaker 3: mean that they're not that they couldn't go out and
- 11:47Speaker 3: sign him tomorrow or sign him today, but I have
- 11:50Speaker 3: not heard that. But the Phillies, to me, they need
- 11:53Speaker 3: to go out and do something, whether it's shooting, making
- 11:57Speaker 3: a trade, maybe it's adding to the rota there, or
- 12:01Speaker 3: maybe it's waiting until the trade deadline where they can
- 12:05Speaker 3: utilize those resources that they save from not signing Bashett
- 12:08Speaker 3: And maybe it's going out and getting a starting pitcher.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Maybe it's going out and getting a bat. And I mean,
- 12:13Speaker 3: I think everyone in baseball is kind of wondering what
- 12:16Speaker 3: exactly ends up happening actually with Anthony Bonda was just
- 12:20Speaker 3: traded to the Twins. So there's that one. But as
- 12:24Speaker 3: far as philod Well, going back to what I was
- 12:28Speaker 3: saying before, everyone in baseball is going to be wondering
- 12:31Speaker 3: what exactly happens with Trek Scooble. Are the Tigers in
- 12:34Speaker 3: contention at the deadline and if so, do they hold
- 12:37Speaker 3: on to him and try to compete for one more year?
- 12:39Speaker 3: Are they out of contention? And do they possibly look
- 12:43Speaker 3: to trade him and maximize whatever return you can get
- 12:45Speaker 3: before he goes and becomes a free agent. I don't know,
- 12:48Speaker 3: But one thing I do know is that Dave Dombrowski
- 12:51Speaker 3: loves star players. In if schoobl or if any other
- 12:53Speaker 3: player is available at the deadline, then to me, he's
- 12:57Speaker 3: going to explore it. And considering he didn't sign Baschett,
- 13:00Speaker 3: he's got the money and the resources to go out
- 13:01Speaker 3: and do it.
- 13:03Speaker 4: Okay, So who are the team that needs to make
- 13:05Speaker 4: the biggest move? You're you're kind of talking a little
- 13:07Speaker 4: bit about them, But who's the who's the one team?
- 13:10Speaker 4: You said the Braves? You know, you're you're talking Phillies here,
- 13:14Speaker 4: is those the teams or is it your Pittsburgh Pirates
- 13:16Speaker 4: that still need to do more there, Robert, because they
- 13:19Speaker 4: are now your Pittsburgh Pirates.
- 13:21Speaker 3: They are my Pittsburgh Pirates. I mean, shoot, I yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 3: I mean he can have baby. I'll actually go with should.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I'll go with the Yankees as the team that needs
- 13:30Speaker 3: to make the biggest move because they've run it back
- 13:32Speaker 3: this entire offseason with the roster that ended up having
- 13:34Speaker 3: last year and they're still they're spinning it as that
- 13:38Speaker 3: they're still they they're still able to compete in the
- 13:40Speaker 3: American League East and also in the American League. But
- 13:43Speaker 3: if you're that team and you go out and obviously
- 13:47Speaker 3: they lost Juan Soto a couple of years ago, but
- 13:50Speaker 3: they've basically run it back with the exact same team
- 13:53Speaker 3: from last year. To me, if they can go out
- 13:55Speaker 3: and make a splash, whatever that could be, whether it's
- 13:58Speaker 3: now or whether it's at the deadline, you need to
- 14:00Speaker 3: add some some new voices or new faces to that
- 14:03Speaker 3: team into that clubhouse. So if they can make a big,
- 14:06Speaker 3: big splash of the deadline and maybe part ways with
- 14:09Speaker 3: one of their high end prospects to facilitate a trade
- 14:12Speaker 3: like that. To me, they stand out as a team
- 14:14Speaker 3: that could, that could and should do that. The San
- 14:16Speaker 3: Diego Padres, obviously they want to compete with the Los
- 14:19Speaker 3: Angeles Dodgers in that division and try to dethron them
- 14:22Speaker 3: in the National League. A j probably loves taking a
- 14:25Speaker 3: big swing, so you always got to watch for the
- 14:26Speaker 3: Padres being a team that could take a big swing.
- 14:29Speaker 3: So those are the two teams that right now, besides
- 14:31Speaker 3: my Pittsburgh Pirates, that stand out as a team, uh
- 14:35Speaker 3: that that should make a big splash.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Did we get to the Braves?
- 14:42Speaker 5: Mm hm?
- 14:43Speaker 1: Would you say we get to the Braves?
- 14:45Speaker 5: The Braves?
- 14:45Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 14:46Speaker 5: What about them?
- 14:47Speaker 1: Roberts heading there? He was gonna we were gonna get
- 14:49Speaker 1: to the Braves.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I thought, I thought. I mean, he've you
- 14:54Speaker 4: already talked about him? Were you not listening? Were you
- 14:56Speaker 4: on your phone? Scott Football? Oh man, you know what
- 15:03Speaker 4: I would say this about you, Robert. I give you
- 15:05Speaker 4: credit for wearing that shitty hat on TV. You know,
- 15:07Speaker 4: I'd rather see you in a Pirates hat than what
- 15:09Speaker 4: you have on now. So at least you could have
- 15:11Speaker 4: worn the Pirates at.
- 15:14Speaker 6: Volunteers.
- 15:15Speaker 4: They're not even sign there they're not even real players,
- 15:19Speaker 4: they're volunteers. As my aunt once said when she was
- 15:23Speaker 4: watching a basketball game, she goes, how can Tennessee win?
- 15:25Speaker 4: They're not even real players, They're just volunteers. Rest in peace, Aunt, Claudie,
- 15:30Speaker 4: Aunt claudieh By the way, Claudia Robert, Sorry, we got
- 15:34Speaker 4: We're We're off the rails today. The Bruce made an
- 15:38Speaker 4: interesting trade the other day with the Caleb Durban and
- 15:42Speaker 4: Kyle Harrison and that whole thing. Why did they do this?
- 15:45Speaker 4: Because it seems like Caleb Durban was like the perfect
- 15:47Speaker 4: Brewer player. He did everything, he could play a bunch
- 15:50Speaker 4: of positions. He was fast, he can put the ball
- 15:51Speaker 4: in play, hit you Homer every once in a while.
- 15:54Speaker 4: They just need they wanted Kyle Harrison that badly.
- 15:58Speaker 3: I honestly, I think that's exactly what they had in
- 16:01Speaker 3: mind here. And usually I can see what the Brewers
- 16:04Speaker 3: are trying to do. But at first, when I saw
- 16:05Speaker 3: that trade, I was really confused by it because I
- 16:09Speaker 3: didn't hear any Durban trade rumors whatsoever. He was the
- 16:12Speaker 3: guy that felt like a perfect Milwaukee Brewer, a five
- 16:14Speaker 3: foot seven guy where he's being coached or managed by
- 16:18Speaker 3: the guy that coached Dustin Pedroia at ASU, like it
- 16:21Speaker 3: felt like he could be their next version or his
- 16:24Speaker 3: next version of Dustin Pedroia. And he had a great
- 16:27Speaker 3: year last year, really like became a fan favorite in Milwaukee,
- 16:31Speaker 3: was a difference maker in that infield. And then you
- 16:33Speaker 3: ship them away on a rookie contract to the Boston
- 16:36Speaker 3: Red Sox. And I was asking around about this, and
- 16:38Speaker 3: I'm I was kind of caught off guard by it,
- 16:41Speaker 3: as I said, but the Brewers have had such success
- 16:44Speaker 3: in maximizing pitchers and getting the best out of them,
- 16:48Speaker 3: and they've done it for years, and they continued it
- 16:50Speaker 3: last year by getting Quinn Priester, a former first round
- 16:53Speaker 3: pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates and then who was also
- 16:56Speaker 3: then traded to the Boston Red Sox. And now they
- 16:59Speaker 3: make another their trade here with the Red Sox. They
- 17:02Speaker 3: get Harrison and he is as high upside guy as
- 17:06Speaker 3: that they've they've brought in on a move like this,
- 17:09Speaker 3: and he was a former first rounder of the Giants,
- 17:12Speaker 3: someone that they they've envisioned being their next version of
- 17:15Speaker 3: Madison Bumgarner in San Francisco, and obviously it didn't work out.
- 17:19Speaker 3: He's moved for Rafael Devers and he was like the
- 17:22Speaker 3: eleventh guy on the starting pitching depth chart for the
- 17:24Speaker 3: Red Sox. But the Brewers clearly see something with Harrison
- 17:28Speaker 3: where they think they can fix him and if that
- 17:31Speaker 3: ends up working, where they can get him back to
- 17:33Speaker 3: that front of the rotation level kind of guy, or
- 17:37Speaker 3: at least like the the upside that they believe that
- 17:40Speaker 3: they that he has. If they can get him there,
- 17:42Speaker 3: then that trade is going to look like a steal.
- 17:44Speaker 3: But it's a huge risk because Durbin seems like a
- 17:47Speaker 3: guy who's only continuing, continuing to ascend. I don't know
- 17:50Speaker 3: if I would have done it if I was a Brewers,
- 17:52Speaker 3: but they proved me wrong time and time again. So
- 17:54Speaker 3: clearly they see something in Harrison, and maybe we should
- 17:57Speaker 3: be thinking of him as a frontline guy before too long.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Hey, sometimes we do a little game on foul territory
- 18:05Speaker 2: called role play. It's not what you think. We're just
- 18:08Speaker 2: picking up our phones and we're talking as if we're
- 18:11Speaker 2: somebody in baseball. But if you'd like that phone to
- 18:14Speaker 2: be a little bit cheaper for making phone calls, who

- 19:02Speaker 6: I just want to hit a little bit of the
- 19:03Speaker 6: Red Sox getting rid of Harrison. Essentially there's one more
- 19:08Speaker 6: player left that they had gotten for the Dever's trade,
- 19:11Speaker 6: like you had said, Jo Sway, And I'm not one
- 19:14Speaker 6: hundred percent remembering his.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Last name Bayol, Yes, Bayo.
- 19:22Speaker 6: How has this looked at in Boston because obviously they
- 19:26Speaker 6: got rid of Mookie Bats, obviously they got rid of sale.
- 19:29Speaker 6: He won a cy young. Is this a sad end
- 19:34Speaker 6: to what they thought was going to be tons of
- 19:37Speaker 6: value that they're getting for Raffie Devers, and just reality
- 19:41Speaker 6: strikes that Red Sox fans have to realize their owner
- 19:45Speaker 6: is more worried about his F one team or his
- 19:48Speaker 6: racing team and his soccer team.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you got a call it like you
- 19:52Speaker 3: see it. This feels like it was a total salary dump.
- 19:55Speaker 3: And that's really unfortunate for the Red Sox because the
- 19:58Speaker 3: Red Sox big market team. They are, they should be
- 20:02Speaker 3: competing for a World Series year in and year out,
- 20:04Speaker 3: and they've moved on from Mookie Bets. Now they move
- 20:07Speaker 3: on from Rafael Devers and we should not be talking
- 20:10Speaker 3: about the Boston Red Sox like that at all. And
- 20:13Speaker 3: in shoot like a part of their logic too, or
- 20:15Speaker 3: a part of their thinking is you've moved on from Devers,
- 20:18Speaker 3: that's going to make it a lot easier for you
- 20:19Speaker 3: to go out and retain a guy like Alex Bregman.
- 20:21Speaker 3: And then they were basically told what they needed to
- 20:24Speaker 3: offer to sign him and they ended up losing him
- 20:28Speaker 3: to the Chicago Cubs. It's a tough one to spin
- 20:32Speaker 3: like they I like some of the moves that they've done.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Getting Durbin was a really nice move. They've upgraded the
- 20:38Speaker 3: rotation a lot they I think Craig Brezl has done
- 20:40Speaker 3: a nice job there, But trading Rafael Devers like that
- 20:45Speaker 3: was a move that it feels a lot like what
- 20:48Speaker 3: could ended up happening, or what ended up happening with
- 20:50Speaker 3: heim Bloom where that mooky bets trade really kind of
- 20:53Speaker 3: defined his tenure there, and I hope it doesn't for
- 20:56Speaker 3: Breslo because he seems like a nice guy. He's done
- 21:00Speaker 3: some nice things there. But shoot, I feel bad for
- 21:03Speaker 3: Red Sox fans because, as I said, that's not how
- 21:05Speaker 3: we should be talking about the Red Sox at all.
- 21:06Speaker 3: We should be talking about them going out and signing Bregman,
- 21:10Speaker 3: signing a Bobuschett who they were interested in, signing Schwarber
- 21:13Speaker 3: who they were interested in, and yet they lost out
- 21:15Speaker 3: on all three of those guys, and that just stinks.
- 21:19Speaker 2: What about Estoc parades my too high on East Sick parts.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I think he would have been a nice fit there.
- 21:24Speaker 2: H seems like that conversation kind of died down.
- 21:30Speaker 3: It has and although like he makes a lot of
- 21:32Speaker 3: sense there, I've wondered I haven't heard this, but I've
- 21:35Speaker 3: I've wondered this, and I've heard it speculated by other teams.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Could he end up being a fit for the Milwaukee
- 21:40Speaker 3: Brewers where they don't they move basically their entire third
- 21:43Speaker 3: base or a third base depth chart, And could that
- 21:47Speaker 3: end up being a fit there for for the Brewers.
- 21:49Speaker 3: I don't know, but I wonder if that could end
- 21:51Speaker 3: up being something they explore.
- 21:54Speaker 1: H all right, we'll check it out.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Is to the Brewers, Murray said they're going to take
- 22:02Speaker 5: the Pirates.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I would love to see that.
- 22:04Speaker 6: I love too.
- 22:06Speaker 1: That would be something. Give me a.
- 22:08Speaker 5: Sign, Milwaukee, can you signed somebody?
- 22:10Speaker 1: He signed that? We actually pacticked It was to.
- 22:13Speaker 6: See if if Robert knows who the Brewers signed?
- 22:16Speaker 4: Yeah, lets see, Yeah, Robert. And who's the other one
- 22:19Speaker 4: they signed this offseason before that?
- 22:21Speaker 5: Who was?
- 22:21Speaker 3: No?
- 22:21Speaker 5: Don't look, no, can't look.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Oh no, I'm trying to. I'm not. My hands are here,
- 22:26Speaker 3: Gary Sanchez.
- 22:27Speaker 6: And who's the other one altfielder? Used to be a Tiger?
- 22:33Speaker 3: Oh?
- 22:34Speaker 6: I killed But there here you go. Robert, You're so good.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Hey, I'm trying my best. Boys, that's uh. And you're
- 22:42Speaker 3: thirty dude? How about that?
- 22:45Speaker 6: Shoot?
- 22:46Speaker 3: I can't believe I turned thirty yesterday. What are we
- 22:48Speaker 3: thinking about that? Boys?
- 22:49Speaker 5: Yesterday?
- 22:50Speaker 6: Happy birthday?
- 22:51Speaker 3: Yes, I appreciate it big time?
- 22:54Speaker 5: Are you? Are you?
- 22:56Speaker 3: I'm an easy in Scottsdale.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Perfect.
- 22:59Speaker 4: I'll be there Monday so you can take me out
- 23:02Speaker 4: to dinner for your for your birthday.
- 23:04Speaker 1: What?
- 23:04Speaker 3: No, what's making it happen? We can talk about we
- 23:08Speaker 3: can talk about our Pittsburgh Pirates. Our Pittsburgh Pirates are.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Pittsburgh common ground.
- 23:15Speaker 4: We actually Scott is Scott is the resident Pirate fan here.
- 23:19Speaker 4: When they got off to that? When did they get
- 23:22Speaker 4: off to that twelve oh star last year? Every year,
- 23:25Speaker 4: Scott's like, A're gonna win the division.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I've never done that. I've been the.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Low guy for a while now and I've just been
- 23:33Speaker 2: collecting checks for a while.
- 23:36Speaker 5: Anyways, the Pirates target because the need eat this.
- 23:40Speaker 4: They deserve this. Man, Ballpark's great, it's a great city.
- 23:44Speaker 4: They deserve this. So I hope they are got, I
- 23:46Speaker 4: really do. I just don't know. I don't know if
- 23:48Speaker 4: I see him making the playoffs, but I think they'll
- 23:50Speaker 4: be vastly improved.
- 23:51Speaker 1: More competitive.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yes, yes, well, birthday boy, We'll let you go. Hopefully
- 23:55Speaker 2: you run into a j out there in Arizona. We
- 23:58Speaker 2: appreciate the time I did get distracted for a moment
- 24:01Speaker 2: because I switched up the rundown. We're gonna talk about
- 24:03Speaker 2: a Jesse Rodgers story about the base coaches, so we'll
- 24:06Speaker 2: get to that later.
- 24:07Speaker 1: But Robert, you're the man. Appreciate you, dude.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Hey, thank you guys at a j I will be
- 24:12Speaker 3: taking you out to dinner next week. I promise you that.
- 24:14Speaker 5: You will hit you up.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Said yes, I will.
- 24:17Speaker 4: I'll hit you up sweet, and I love for you food.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Tell you three things. There you go and you even
- 24:22Speaker 4: get an appetizer. Appreciate you, Robert, talk about thank you guys.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Oh Kratz, you're gonna like this one. Bet MGM futures
- 24:31Speaker 2: team with the most regular season wins. I was shocked
- 24:37Speaker 2: Dodgers minus one seventy five, minus one seventy five. Then
- 24:43Speaker 2: you have the Phillies at plus twelve hundred. Mets Philly, Wait,
- 24:47Speaker 2: Mets and Phillies are on there. Toy Phillies are on
- 24:49Speaker 2: there twice. Take that down.
- 24:50Speaker 1: We gotta fix that.
- 24:51Speaker 5: Gotta be the Yankees.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I can actually I have it. I'll read it for you.
- 24:56Speaker 2: It's Yankees plus twelve hundred Phillies plus fifteen hun Dred,
- 25:00Speaker 2: Blue Jays and Mets are also plus fifteen hundred. Brewers
- 25:03Speaker 2: and Mariners are plus sixteen hundred. Clubs are plus eighteen
- 25:07Speaker 2: hundred against the minus one seventy five on the Dodgers.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Who had the most wins in baseball last year?
- 25:17Speaker 5: Brew crew?
- 25:19Speaker 1: Okay, who had the second? I mean the Dodgers were
- 25:22Speaker 1: getting top three?
- 25:23Speaker 6: Yeah, Yankees.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Is it a given that the Dodgers will have the
- 25:28Speaker 2: best record in baseball.
- 25:30Speaker 5: Because they don't even care about the regular season?
- 25:31Speaker 1: Right?
- 25:32Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 25:32Speaker 2: I remember last year, everyone's like they're gonna win one
- 25:34Speaker 2: hundred and ninety six.
- 25:35Speaker 5: No, everyone's like they're gonna win one hundred and sixty
- 25:36Speaker 5: two games and never lose.
- 25:38Speaker 1: They didn't.
- 25:39Speaker 5: I'm aware.
- 25:40Speaker 1: So is this a good bet to pick a few
- 25:43Speaker 1: teams somewhere?
- 25:44Speaker 5: A bet if you're not picking them?
- 25:46Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Should you pick some.
- 25:47Speaker 5: Other you get in the field? Can I get to
- 25:49Speaker 5: what's the field?
- 25:51Speaker 1: Maybe I can see there's a special for that.
- 25:55Speaker 6: I don't think they I don't think they'd do that.
- 25:57Speaker 6: I don't think they give you the field. But I
- 25:59Speaker 6: mean to me, I'm laying something on whichever team you
- 26:03Speaker 6: feel like has the best shot at being I wish
- 26:07Speaker 6: I'd look this up ahead of time, because there's teams,
- 26:12Speaker 6: there's teams that can that can have more wins. They
- 26:14Speaker 6: won't be in the National League West. I think the
- 26:17Speaker 6: Dodgers want to win the National League West, and the
- 26:20Speaker 6: Dodgers want to win all their games like they That's
- 26:23Speaker 6: that's not at all what we're saying here. We're saying
- 26:26Speaker 6: they're not going to have Yamamoto on two days rest
- 26:30Speaker 6: like it's the World Series and they're starters in the
- 26:33Speaker 6: bullpen to win every single game. No, they're going to
- 26:38Speaker 6: They're going to mitigate it so that guys have rest,
- 26:41Speaker 6: Guys are as fresh as they can be. They're already
- 26:43Speaker 6: starting with Blake snow he has arm fatigue from his
- 26:48Speaker 6: playoff run. Like I think it's I think it's just
- 26:52Speaker 6: the reality of situation. So I think there's value somewhere
- 26:56Speaker 6: in that Yankees, Blue Jays, Phill, these Braves, Mariners type
- 27:02Speaker 6: of to me, I would I would bet. I would
- 27:05Speaker 6: bet more on the American League side of it. So
- 27:09Speaker 6: if I'm putting three teams down, I'm saying from this list,
- 27:14Speaker 6: I'll take a little, you know, half a unit on Seattle,
- 27:19Speaker 6: half a unit on Toronto, half a unit on the Yankees,
- 27:22Speaker 6: and I think that's going to pay out big time.
- 27:30Speaker 1: A at least can scare me.
- 27:32Speaker 6: Right, That's why I mean towards the Mariner Like Mariners.
- 27:37Speaker 6: I don't think the good enough the Tigers like. Give
- 27:41Speaker 6: me the Tigers and El Central. It's just so many
- 27:47Speaker 6: I get it. The Brewers did last year. Yeah, but
- 27:50Speaker 6: then Central is better? To me? What is? What division
- 27:55Speaker 6: isn't better? I think the Royals are better. I think
- 27:58Speaker 6: the Guardians are down for a down year. So is
- 28:00Speaker 6: it the Tigers? Do the Tigers with this new vaunted
- 28:03Speaker 6: rotation do they get a lot of wins like they
- 28:06Speaker 6: were on pace for it the entire season and then
- 28:09Speaker 6: they all star break hit, So I you know, I
- 28:13Speaker 6: think that's where your value is too, because the East
- 28:16Speaker 6: is going to beat each other up, but routinely they're
- 28:19Speaker 6: really good teams in the East.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Sold Tigers.
- 28:23Speaker 2: That was the team I liked last year, and man,
- 28:26Speaker 2: they had it going. I think they had the best
- 28:27Speaker 2: record in baseball in the first half.
- 28:29Speaker 5: They didn't and they didn't win the division.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, that's a good one.
