- 0:16Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Guess what?
- 0:18Speaker 4: What?
- 0:18Speaker 1: What?
- 0:20Speaker 5: All week long on the Alabama Show. By the way,
- 0:23Speaker 5: welcome to the Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with producer Blake.
- 0:26Speaker 3: That's me.
- 0:27Speaker 2: If you're new here, we like to do fun things.
- 0:29Speaker 6: Okay.
- 0:30Speaker 5: We like to put Producer Blake through all kinds of
- 0:32Speaker 5: fun challenges.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:34Speaker 2: And it's a good time.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Yes.
- 0:36Speaker 2: It's Halloweek.
- 0:37Speaker 4: It is.
- 0:37Speaker 2: It's the week before Halloween. So today on the show,
- 0:40Speaker 2: Producer Blake.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 2: At 8 o'clock.
- 0:43Speaker 6: Uh-huh.
- 0:43Speaker 5: Well, you're going to be doing it all day at
- 0:46Speaker 5: 8 o'clock. You're going to present us with a jack-o'-lantern
- 0:48Speaker 5: that you have hand-carved yourself.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh.
- 0:54Speaker 6: I can't do it.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you can.
- 0:56Speaker 6: The pumpkins are in my car.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I went and bought some jumbo pumpkins.
- 1:00Speaker 6: I'm not good at this. It only turns out. I
- 1:02Speaker 6: brought knives.
- 1:03Speaker 1: It's good.
- 1:04Speaker 6: Are we both doing it this time? Are we both
- 1:06Speaker 6: going to carve?
- 1:08Speaker 2: You're going to carve yours for sure. I may do
- 1:10Speaker 2: mine after the show.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:12Speaker 2: You've got to pull the seeds out of it.
- 1:15Speaker 3: See, this is going to be awful.
- 1:18Speaker 6: I hate doing jack-o'-lanterns.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Let me just paint it.
- 1:20Speaker 1: No.
- 1:21Speaker 6: Let me just paint it.
- 1:22Speaker 2: No, you've got to carve it. We painted last year.
- 1:25Speaker 2: This year, you're carving.
- 1:26Speaker 6: I know, and last year we did phenomenal. I don't
- 1:28Speaker 6: know why we got to change it up.
- 1:30Speaker 3: I don't know why we got to change it.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Just do it.
- 1:32Speaker 2: And then we're going to set it outside our studio
- 1:34Speaker 2: for the rest of the week.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:36Speaker 6: It's going to stink.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I don't mind.
- 1:37Speaker 6: It's going to look ugly.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Anyway, good morning. Hope you're ready for Halloween.
- 1:41Speaker 5: That'll be at 8 o'clock. Make sure you're listening. 650
- 1:44Speaker 5: and 850. What the hell headlines? Stupid things people are
- 1:47Speaker 5: doing in the news. And if you have good news,
- 1:49Speaker 5: call the show.
- 1:51Speaker 4: 833-501-BAMA.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Good morning. Good morning.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Stop.
- 1:54Speaker 6: It's what the hell headlines.
- 1:55Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about?
- 1:57Speaker 1: On the Alabama show.
- 2:00Speaker 5: A speed camera caught 400,000 speeders in the first month.
- 2:04Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Well, yeah, if you set it up, people are going
- 2:09Speaker 2: to get caught.
- 2:10Speaker 5: But 400,000? Tacoma, Washington set up new speed cameras. They
- 2:14Speaker 5: caught over 400,000 speeders in the first month, but the
- 2:16Speaker 5: city said they don't have the ability to sight.
- 2:18Speaker 2: That many people because that's 400,000 people in a month.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Listen to some of the people who live there.
- 2:24Speaker 6: I can probably count at least... Ten wrecks.
- 2:28Speaker 3: There's a hole in that fence right there.
- 2:30Speaker 6: The other night a car went through it. Everybody speeds.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Life shouldn't have a cost on it.
- 2:35Speaker 2: It should be a no-brainer. Thank God they finally did something.
- 2:38Speaker 5: Yeah, but they didn't do anything because there's too many
- 2:40Speaker 5: people speeding and they can't do it.
- 2:43Speaker 1: What the hell? Super easy trivia with The Alabama Show.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Lindsay, good morning. Where are you calling from?
- 2:51Speaker 4: I'm calling from the Hoover area.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Okay. Are you at home? Are you in your car?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Are you at work? Where are you at? No, I'm
- 2:58Speaker 2: driving to work.
- 2:59Speaker 6: Okay.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Where do you work? What do you do?
- 3:01Speaker 4: I work at an oral surgery place.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Oh, that sounds like fun for you and not fun
- 3:07Speaker 2: for your patients. Correct.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Okay, Lindsay, do you want to play super easy trivia
- 3:13Speaker 5: to win these tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra?
- 3:16Speaker 2: Absolutely. Okay, I'll ask the questions. Producer Blake is your lifeline.
- 3:21Speaker 3: That's me.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Here's question number one. Lindsay, what is a group of
- 3:25Speaker 2: lions called?
- 3:28Speaker 4: A pack?
- 3:30Speaker 2: Would you like to use Producer Blake as your help?
- 3:33Speaker 4: I'll use Producer Blake.
- 3:34Speaker 2: What is it?
- 3:35Speaker 3: You were so close, it's a prod.
- 3:38Speaker 5: Oh.
- 3:38Speaker 2: All right, next one. That's okay, Lindsay. What is the
- 3:41Speaker 2: closest star to Earth?
- 3:43Speaker 5: Producer Blake is a space nerd.
- 3:46Speaker 2: If you would like to use him.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Oh, my goodness.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Closest? I'm going to say the sun. The sun is it.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Good job, girl. And last one.
- 3:54Speaker 5: For the win, who is the first president of the
- 3:57Speaker 5: United States of America?
- 3:58Speaker 2: Also on the $ 1 bill. George Washington.
- 4:01Speaker 6: Good job.
- 4:02Speaker 4: All right.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Congratulations, Lindsay. You just won super easy trivia.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama show.
- 4:20Speaker 5: If you miss any of the football games this weekend,
- 4:22Speaker 5: Auburn lost to LSU 38 to 17 and Alabama beat
- 4:27Speaker 5: Texas A & M 31 to 20 roll tide. Health
- 4:30Speaker 5: insurance prices are about to spike. Nearly 1 million people
- 4:33Speaker 5: are going to lose UnitedHealthcare and Humana Medicare plans just
- 4:37Speaker 5: as enrollment season begins. They are canceling Medicare Advantage plans
- 4:42Speaker 5: in areas where they are making less money. And now
- 4:44Speaker 5: they are expecting patients to have fewer plan perks, more
- 4:47Speaker 5: limits on covered doctors and higher out of pocket costs.
- 4:50Speaker 5: Our health care keeps getting more and more expensive.
- 4:52Speaker 2: This is crazy.
- 4:54Speaker 7: Always.
- 4:55Speaker 6: Oh, Halloween.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Halloween is getting an extra hour this year.
- 4:58Speaker 3: What do you mean it's getting an extra hour?
- 5:00Speaker 5: Daylight savings time is on Sunday, and Halloween's on Saturday,
- 5:03Speaker 5: so the clocks roll back an hour at 2 a.m.
- 5:06Speaker 5: So if you're going out on Halloween, that means you get.
- 5:09Speaker 2: An extra hour.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Also, because of future leap years, Halloween won't be on
- 5:13Speaker 5: a Saturday again until 2037.
- 5:17Speaker 6: That's a while.
- 5:19Speaker 2: 11 years.
- 5:20Speaker 5: 11 years from now. And that is three things you
- 5:22Speaker 5: need to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 5:26Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 5:29Speaker 6: Taylor, good morning.
- 5:31Speaker 2: What's your issue for Ask Alabama?
- 5:33Speaker 7: I am about to take down my neighbor's Halloween decorations
- 5:37Speaker 7: if she doesn't move them.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 5:39Speaker 6: That's why we do Ask Alabama.
- 5:41Speaker 5: We do our best to help you with whatever your
- 5:43Speaker 5: drama is, especially Halloween drama this week.
- 5:46Speaker 2: What's going on? So two weeks ago.
- 5:48Speaker 7: I asked my neighbor to move her animatronic zombie a
- 5:53Speaker 7: little further from the sidewalk.
- 5:55Speaker 6: She's got it right on her.
- 5:56Speaker 7: She's got it like right at the edge of her
- 5:58Speaker 7: property line. And it's to the point where I have
- 6:00Speaker 7: to walk when I walk my dogs. I have to
- 6:03Speaker 7: walk in the middle of the road.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Or cross the road to keep it from triggering.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Do your dogs freak out when it goes off? Oh,
- 6:11Speaker 2: my God.
- 6:11Speaker 5: Yes.
- 6:12Speaker 7: So the biggest problem is that my big dog has
- 6:16Speaker 7: anxiety anyway. And when I walk him by this thing,
- 6:19Speaker 7: he panics and starts jumping all around because he's seen
- 6:22Speaker 7: it trigger. And he knows what it could do. And
- 6:25Speaker 7: he just loses his poor little mind.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 7: We we live on a busy road. So like crossing
- 6:33Speaker 7: the street isn't always the safest option. And, you know,
- 6:37Speaker 7: I'm also worried about cars coming by right at the
- 6:39Speaker 7: moment that he.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Starts to freak out.
- 6:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Do you say something to the neighbor? Oh, my God,
- 6:44Speaker 2: I did.
- 6:45Speaker 7: I asked her very politely if she could move it
- 6:48Speaker 7: just a little bit. And she stared at me like
- 6:51Speaker 7: I was crazy. And then she just like started laughing
- 6:55Speaker 7: and walked back in her house.
- 6:56Speaker 6: I know.
- 6:57Speaker 7: And even worse is that she has added to it.
- 7:01Speaker 7: She's added two new ones.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 7:03Speaker 7: She added this like grim reaper thing, you know, like
- 7:06Speaker 7: the death thing that like jumps forward and a skeleton
- 7:10Speaker 7: that moves and does all kinds of light flashing.
- 7:13Speaker 2: So she's made it three times worse on you.
- 7:15Speaker 7: Just made it worse. I don't understand. Like, I just
- 7:18Speaker 7: I didn't tell her to take it down or to
- 7:20Speaker 7: destroy it, you know, or like I didn't.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Say, like, burn your house down.
- 7:25Speaker 7: I just said, can you move it back a little bit?
- 7:27Speaker 7: Is there a way I can handle this situation without
- 7:30Speaker 7: sounding like a Karen complaining?
- 7:32Speaker 2: Producer Blake, what would you do if this were you?
- 7:34Speaker 4: Not at all.
- 7:35Speaker 6: You're Karen.
- 7:36Speaker 3: So what I would say here is.
- 7:37Speaker 6: Oh, my God. No, that is her property.
- 7:41Speaker 8: And if you don't like it, just don't walk on
- 7:43Speaker 8: the street anymore.
- 7:44Speaker 6: Right on the sidewalk. So that's not her. That's not
- 7:47Speaker 6: the neighbor's problem. She's trying to have fun with everyone else.
- 7:50Speaker 8: One person's problem does not mean my answer needs to
- 7:53Speaker 8: resolve around you.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Is there even a sidewalk on the other side of
- 7:56Speaker 5: the street?
- 7:57Speaker 7: No, no.
- 7:58Speaker 6: There we go.
- 7:59Speaker 2: It's just shared on the sidewalk. You live in a
- 8:02Speaker 2: shared neighborhood. You're not in the middle of the country
- 8:04Speaker 2: in the middle of nowhere. I would kick them down.
- 8:06Speaker 6: It's a neighbor's house.
- 8:07Speaker 7: Let your dog.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Here's what you do.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Let your dog attack the animatronics and be like, sorry.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Call the show.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Have you ever dealt with a terrible neighbor that had
- 8:18Speaker 5: awful Halloween decorations?
- 8:19Speaker 2: Call the show. 833-501-BEMA is the number.
- 8:21Speaker 1: That's 833-501-2262. You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 8:29Speaker 5: Taylor wants her neighbor to move her animatronics because they're
- 8:32Speaker 5: scaring her dog. Not even take them down, just move
- 8:34Speaker 5: them off the sidewalk. 833-501-BAMA is the number. Do you
- 8:38Speaker 5: think she's in the wrong for asking the neighbor to
- 8:40Speaker 5: do that? John Paul, what do you think?
- 8:42Speaker 4: It is Halloween, okay? It's Halloween. People enjoy a little
- 8:47Speaker 4: bit of fright. And actually, I just saw something that
- 8:50Speaker 4: brought a little sadness to me. In our neighborhood, we
- 8:53Speaker 4: have this one person that is like over-the-top Halloween, like
- 8:56Speaker 4: too much stuff. Like they had so, so, so much stuff.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Like they added to it every year. Okay. And went
- 9:03Speaker 4: all the way down like the side of their house,
- 9:05Speaker 4: front of their house, huge things, little things. I looked
- 9:07Speaker 4: like they went to thrift stores as they're going to
- 9:09Speaker 4: Lowe's and Home Depot.
- 9:10Speaker 7: Okay.
- 9:11Speaker 4: And out of nowhere, I think they might be moving.
- 9:14Speaker 4: And every time I'd see it, I'd kind of laugh.
- 9:16Speaker 4: And I would look forward to seeing more stuff.
- 9:17Speaker 2: So it's not up this year?
- 9:19Speaker 4: And I think they're moving because this year, nothing.
- 9:22Speaker 5: So what you're saying is, put all the animatronics all
- 9:25Speaker 5: along your sidewalk.
- 9:26Speaker 2: And you don't care.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Well, not all of them. I mean, tastefully, yes. But
- 9:31Speaker 4: I mean, I think that, yeah, this is a particular season, right?
- 9:35Speaker 1: All right.
- 9:36Speaker 6: Thanks, John Paul. Have a good day.
- 9:38Speaker 4: You too. Take care, guys.
- 9:39Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama Show.
- 9:42Speaker 5: We have a new Shake Shack coming to Alabama in
- 9:45Speaker 5: early 2027 on Highway 280 in Hoover, which will make
- 9:48Speaker 5: it the second Alabama location. But there's at least three
- 9:52Speaker 5: more planned around Alabama. The other three Shake Shacks are
- 9:55Speaker 5: going to be in Alabaster, Foley, and Huntsville. ariana grande
- 9:59Speaker 5: cut her hair and everybody's freaking out because normally she
- 10:02Speaker 5: has really long hair and she just posted on social
- 10:04Speaker 5: media A super short haircut, higher than her shoulders.
- 10:08Speaker 2: It's way different from her usual hair.
- 10:10Speaker 5: If you missed it, Ariana Grande has recently stepped back
- 10:13Speaker 5: from public appearances following the scrutiny she said she experienced
- 10:17Speaker 5: during her Eternal Sunshine tour. But she's still sharing personal
- 10:21Speaker 5: photos and her makeup brand. Apple's first ever foldable smartphone,
- 10:26Speaker 5: the iPhone Duo. It was officially released on Friday, sold
- 10:29Speaker 5: out instantly. It's already on back order.
- 10:31Speaker 8: Man, there are so many things coming out about this thing.
- 10:34Speaker 8: That's awesome.
- 10:36Speaker 5: Normally, the phone, if you were able to get it,
- 10:38Speaker 5: it costs between $ 2, 000 and $ 3, 200. They have already pushed
- 10:44Speaker 5: out the back orders into late January. Most people won't
- 10:47Speaker 5: be able to get them until the end of January,
- 10:49Speaker 5: but some people are selling them on eBay for.
- 10:51Speaker 1: $ 15, 000.
- 10:51Speaker 6: Wow. Oh, my gosh. I wonder if anybody's going to
- 10:55Speaker 6: buy it.
- 10:55Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 10:56Speaker 5: So if you're trying to get the foldable iPhone by Christmas,
- 10:59Speaker 5: $ 15, 000 may get it for you. That's three things you
- 11:02Speaker 5: need to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 11:05Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Haley, good morning. What's your good news?
- 11:11Speaker 4: So I recently got a promotion at work.
- 11:14Speaker 6: Woo!
- 11:14Speaker 1: Woo!
- 11:17Speaker 2: What's the promotion?
- 11:18Speaker 4: I am now a team trainer.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Yes, you're a team trainer. What kind of job do
- 11:25Speaker 5: you do?
- 11:26Speaker 4: Well, I work in the law industry.
- 11:28Speaker 2: That's amazing. Well, congratulations on the promotion.
- 11:31Speaker 6: Did you get more money? A little bit.
- 11:33Speaker 2: What are you going to do with that extra money?
- 11:35Speaker 4: I'm going to fix my vehicle.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Oh, that deserves another air horn.
- 11:44Speaker 5: I know I've had car problems and it gets expensive
- 11:47Speaker 5: to fix.
- 11:47Speaker 2: So that is amazing. Congratulations. That's great news.
- 11:51Speaker 6: Yes, ma'am. Thank you.
- 11:53Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show. The following program is
- 11:57Speaker 1: on demand.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Have you gone to any pumpkin patches this year?
- 12:01Speaker 3: No, I've not. You know how I feel about pumpkins.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Oh man, but pumpkin patches are fun. I'm trying to decide.
- 12:06Speaker 5: I want to go to some this weekend. So I've
- 12:08Speaker 5: been Googling. There's like so many pumpkin patches around town.
- 12:11Speaker 5: There's the Great Pumpkin Patch. I think I'm going to
- 12:13Speaker 5: go to 4D Farms. There's also Helena Hollow. Like I
- 12:17Speaker 5: went to, I think it was, I can't remember what
- 12:20Speaker 5: pumpkin patch I went to.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I think it was 4D Farms.
- 12:23Speaker 5: And they had like an apple cannon where you shoot
- 12:27Speaker 5: apples across this big field. And then there was a
- 12:30Speaker 5: corn maze and then a haunted trail. And then you
- 12:33Speaker 5: can go get apple cider donuts when you leave.
- 12:35Speaker 6: I didn't know there was this many fun things at
- 12:37Speaker 6: Pumpkin Patches.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Yes, it's a whole experience. It's like a great date night.
- 12:41Speaker 5: You could take a girl on a date.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I might need to do that.
- 12:45Speaker 6: That sounds awesome.
- 12:45Speaker 5: I've been Googling and I think, I think, I think
- 12:49Speaker 5: it's 4D Farms, but I'm not sure. So if you've
- 12:51Speaker 5: gone to any pumpkin patches already this.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Season or if you work at one and you're listening to.
- 12:56Speaker 5: The show, call the show 833-501-BAMA is the number. Where
- 12:59Speaker 5: is the best pumpkin patch in town to go to?
- 13:03Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 13:06Speaker 9: Today, I challenged producer Blake to carve a amazing jack-o'-lantern
- 13:11Speaker 9: and you did it within 30 minutes.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I did and it looks spectacular.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Would you like to say anything about your jack-o'-lantern?
- 13:18Speaker 5: By the way, thanks for listening to The Alabama Show.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I'm Alabama with producer Blake.
- 13:21Speaker 3: That's me.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Would you like to say anything.
- 13:24Speaker 9: About your jack-o'-lantern before you show me what it is
- 13:26Speaker 9: and I try to guess what you did?
- 13:28Speaker 8: Just know that this specific thing has an awesome career
- 13:33Speaker 8: and has made it very far, okay?
- 13:35Speaker 3: You'll understand when you guess it.
- 13:37Speaker 4: You ready?
- 13:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Let me see. What do you think he is?
- 13:40Speaker 6: Is that eyebrows?
- 13:43Speaker 4: No.
- 13:44Speaker 6: It's not eyebrows.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Why does it look like it's special needs?
- 13:48Speaker 6: What did you do to his eye?
- 13:49Speaker 3: Okay, okay, easy now.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Easy now.
- 13:51Speaker 6: Why does he... His.
- 13:52Speaker 2: His... eyes are where his.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Nose should be or is that a nose in the
- 13:58Speaker 5: eyes it looks like oh it kind of looks like
- 14:00Speaker 5: a dinosaur.
- 14:01Speaker 6: Okay that's hurtful look at it.
- 14:04Speaker 9: It looks like a dinosaur if you look at its
- 14:06Speaker 9: face it is not a dinosaur what is it are.
- 14:10Speaker 3: You ready yeah it's a vampire chef where's his fangs
