- 0:07My wallet So welcome to episode 83 of the
- 0:37Allegiance Podcast. We're into mid-september now, so
- 0:41less than two months to Allegiance Con.
- 0:44That's pretty exciting. This week we've got some
- 0:47listeners questions for you. I put the shout out for
- 0:49listeners questions I didn't mention on the show last week
- 0:53because we hadn't decided to do it yet.
- 0:54Probably should have because maybe people are sensible and
- 0:58they just listen to the show or watch the show on YouTube and
- 1:03didn't maybe see the questions I put on our different platforms.
- 1:07So apologies. So if you do have a listener
- 1:09question and you're just a listener and you don't waste
- 1:12your time with all those social media things, then fire it in
- 1:15and we get to it next week for sure.
- 1:17And so how are we doing guys? How's you?
- 1:20How are you rich? I'm doing well, thank you.
- 1:23Yes, it looks like like a bit of a pincushion.
- 1:26You see the blue? Oh yeah, my hand.
- 1:28Blue plaster on the arm, there was one there a minute ago.
- 1:33So yeah, I went through a blood test earlier so I got all sorts
- 1:38of stuff but yeah, apart from that all sorts of good, very
- 1:41good and nothing worry test. It's they're doing a, there's a
- 1:45private company in the UK working with the NHS and they've
- 1:49got almost 2,000,000 volunteers now and they're doing like, you
- 1:52know, just studies sort of things.
- 1:54So, you know, if your blood shows this, you're more
- 1:56acceptable to this in later years.
- 1:57And they can give you, like, advice saying, Oh yeah, you
- 1:59know, you, you might want to get yourself checked for XY or Z and
- 2:02all that sort of stuff. So, yeah.
- 2:03And. If your blood shows this, you're
- 2:05more susceptible to buying customs.
- 2:11Yeah, who's this man who's going to be looking crack in his
- 2:15blood? What?
- 2:16It's going to be just all these guys in white coats.
- 2:18Come here, Come here. Look at it.
- 2:19Look. Never seen it that high on that
- 2:21level. What's that level?
- 2:23Oh, toy collector. And how are the cats rich?
- 2:29They are settling in extremely well.
- 2:32I love to hear it. Both of them have the the Tilly
- 2:35the Boy because they've got the name wrong, but they recognize
- 2:38them now. Yeah, the wrong way around.
- 2:41Yeah, he's he's like a proper, he's a proper attention horse.
- 2:45So he's straight over and OK and him and Kerry are bonded
- 2:49completely to the point he's the last couple of nights he's just
- 2:52been lying on our bed before we put him away sort of thing for
- 2:55the night. And he's just the vet bed's
- 2:57virtually vibrating. He's purring so loudly, sort of
- 2:59thing. You have more time to look at
- 3:03customs then, because Kerry is, you know, doesn't need to be all
- 3:06in your hands. You can this is.
- 3:07The plan? Yeah, exactly.
- 3:08You can pet the cat and. And then the little so and so I
- 3:11sent you guys a picture earlier. Little so and so was on my side
- 3:13of the bed, tucked under the the duvet Bush.
- 3:15Oh yeah, the duvet. But you've given up on given up
- 3:19on that. You know, I just have to.
- 3:21I just have to be comfortable in the fact that I'm probably #1
- 3:25but sometimes there's only a cat that's needed.
- 3:31Selling in really well, yeah, the Milo, the girls not quite as
- 3:35cuddly etcetera, but even she's like purring around as she was
- 3:38purring by me earlier sort of thing.
- 3:39And we'll come up every now and again going a little bit of
- 3:41attention and then she goes. Yeah, she's, she's, she's kind
- 3:44of working her way into the family, I guess.
- 3:46Yes, I think so. They both seem to sell in really
- 3:49well. Yeah.
- 3:49So we're a very happy Cat House household now.
- 3:52I love to hear it, love to hear it, see and and man, how's the
- 3:56crack? Yeah, not too bad, not too bad
- 4:01as I was just moaning. It's gone very wintry very
- 4:04quickly, which. Oh.
- 4:06Man, older and older, I more and more I need to move to a warm,
- 4:10dry climate. It's I can't.
- 4:12I can't. Yeah, cold and.
- 4:13We just had the summer switched off here.
- 4:16You know, we, we put like my kids, the two kids wanted to
- 4:21have like pool party for their birthdays, even though their
- 4:24birthdays were in April. So we saved the birthdays for
- 4:26the summer holidays. And because his events friends
- 4:29were all away for a lot of the summer holidays, you know,
- 4:33various times overlapping with each other and eventually a few
- 4:37of them were available this week.
- 4:39So we managed to cram it in because then the day after, I
- 4:42think it was Saturday, the day after the temperatures just
- 4:45plummeted. We were 11° here today.
- 4:48That's 52 in American. Didn't get any harder than 11
- 4:521/2. Yeah.
- 4:54Oh yeah. It was like jacket weather.
- 4:56What the heck? Well, there was, there was hail
- 5:00today. So, you know, chunks of ice
- 5:02falling out in the sky. It's like, what the heck.
- 5:06Yeah, we, we here just looking at the temperature here, yeah.
- 5:09So we were like 1718 Celsius all of last week, rained most of
- 5:13last week, but it wasn't too bad.
- 5:15And then yeah, it's like I think 13 today.
- 5:17It meant to be 12 or 13 tomorrow.
- 5:19So, you know, just we dropped here as well.
- 5:22If we've been shortchanged with the summer because we've got no
- 5:24lead in it, just went to like spring, summer, but like in
- 5:28July, way too late. And now it's got to September
- 5:31and it's like now winter, you know, forget your autumn.
- 5:35Yeah, well, I don't like autumn, even though that's when I was
- 5:38born, but I suppose it wasn't supposed to be winter really
- 5:41wasn't it? But yeah.
- 5:44I guess you're all back to school.
- 5:45We're back to school on Monday here and we had some friends
- 5:49that we're doing a, you know, a lot of people go on holidays the
- 5:53last week or two here because a lot of other countries are going
- 5:57back to school already. So the holidays might be a bit
- 5:59cheaper, more available, etcetera.
- 6:01And we had friends that went to Germany or Austria in the
- 6:05mountains and the weather is just, they've just found out
- 6:10their last day there is going to be snowing.
- 6:13Oh, now they're quite high up. But like, this time of the year,
- 6:16it's not supposed to, you know, ski season is another month or
- 6:18two at least if the early season.
- 6:21And. Yeah.
- 6:22And no winter tires. No.
- 6:25No clothes Appropriate. Yeah.
- 6:28So I would just leave as soon as I saw that forecast.
- 6:31I'd be like, right, sorry, kids, no cheating.
- 6:33You know, the last year holiday. But you don't want to.
- 6:35I'm telling you, you don't want it if you know what's coming.
- 6:39I mean I imagine it's nicer than when we get snow which is just
- 6:42slush and slot within. And Mal, you went to see
- 6:45Beetlejuice. I saw, Oh I did, yes, saying
- 6:48during the week that you went and you enjoyed it.
- 6:50I did. I'm seeing a few a few negative
- 6:53reviews, but everyone who have not true.
- 6:57I've seen a couple of people being like not sure it's as
- 6:59good. I watched the 1st.
- 7:02Is it a good film? After.
- 7:04But it's enjoyable. Yes.
- 7:05Yeah. For me, it hit all the notes you
- 7:08want it to hit, whether the story was good or whether the,
- 7:12you know, perhaps it wasn't as coherent.
- 7:15Maybe. I see.
- 7:16I disagree with that. But.
- 7:17But yeah, I enjoyed it. Yeah.
- 7:20For me, it had what I wanted from a Beetlejuice movie, right.
- 7:24It was fun. It's good, wacky zany, you know,
- 7:28Michael Keaton being Michael Keaton and and Beetlejuice is
- 7:32just fantastic as ever, so. I think Michael was so good in
- 7:38in everything that, you know, if you get him to reprise the
- 7:41character from from when he did it, was it, I guess 90s was
- 7:45Beetlejuice, not 80s was it? Yeah, like 90s maybe.
- 7:49Was it? OK, let's not.
- 7:51Let's not embarrass ourselves here.
- 7:54I don't know why I just hung that around our necks, you know?
- 7:58My lady wife was like oh she watched Beetlejuice the original
- 8:021 then because the new one's out and I can't repeat the language
- 8:06on our show what that she used towards the idea of watching
- 8:08Beetlejuice. Apparently she's not a fan of
- 8:11that one. Oh, OK.
- 8:14Yeah, I think. It's a great film, but yeah,
- 8:15she's known. Yeah, I suppose it would have
- 8:17been before we met her, her wives.
- 8:19So yeah, you you just find out if they're like the original or
- 8:24not. Oops.
- 8:25Yeah, yeah, she's weird. She's too late for.
- 8:28Devolved Marie Film. Just like, well, she's like Bill
- 8:30Murray films either. So like Groundhog Day.
- 8:32No Scrooged, no, it's ghost. It Ghostbusters should just
- 8:37about tolerate. It's like, seriously?
- 8:40Wow. OK, Yeah.
- 8:41Well, yeah, My, my, my Fizzler tastes as well.
- 8:44Yeah. And there's certain films that I
- 8:46watch that she hates. So yeah.
- 8:50But we just don't watch them together then.
- 8:52Yeah, just have to give up in that scenario.
- 8:56Yeah, I watched because she's doing a film module this year
- 8:58with. She took a like, an extra class
- 9:01where she's doing films because she likes, you know, all that
- 9:05stuff as well. And so we're watching films now
- 9:08that we've normally watched series.
- 9:10So we're trying to find stuff on Netflix so that the kids could
- 9:13watch at home. You know, for sure nearly
- 9:15everyone has Netflix. Or, you know, she'll find out
- 9:18when once the class starts next week.
- 9:20But for the moment, we're assuming most people have had
- 9:23Netflix. So A Pursuit of Happiness was on
- 9:26Netflix. The Will Smith one.
- 9:28Quite a good one. Miserable.
- 9:31Oh, yeah, it's a it's a it's a, it's a very good film and his
- 9:34performance is amazing. But yes, you will.
- 9:39I was, I was quite invested in in the fate of the lead
- 9:42character. But also, yeah, quite.
- 9:45I don't know. Yeah, it kind of made me sad.
- 9:49Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:50Anyway. Is that the one who's like
- 9:51homeless or something? But then it's a well paid job
- 9:55or. He's a salesman that basically
- 9:56invested a lot of money in these bone scanners and and ended up
- 10:02kind of struggling to sell them. And then his life starts to fall
- 10:05apart. And at the same time he's trying
- 10:08to get an internship to become a stockbroker.
- 10:10And it kind of all that's a true story, apparently based on true
- 10:13story. So which is why it's so
- 10:16emotionally heavy. Yeah, heavy.
- 10:18That's it's just so. And there's a little kid the
- 10:19whole time, which is actually his real kid, real life kid and
- 10:24Jayden. And that's right.
- 10:26And who's now an adult, of course.
- 10:27So that's weird. When you look up on IMDb who's
- 10:30the kid? And you're like, oh, he's an
- 10:31adult because it's the film is from 20 years ago.
- 10:34But yeah, it's the cute kid when all the bad things are happening
- 10:38to them, of course, it's just, you know, devastating.
- 10:41Absolutely. But yeah, good film if you're,
- 10:45you know, a good film in the kind of, you know, if you like
- 10:48watching kind of Oscar type films or, you know, these kind
- 10:51of critically named films. And it does have quite a high
- 10:57rating on IMDb. So I suppose that's kind of
- 11:03reflective of the type of film it is.
- 11:07Speaking of Oscar rated or Oscar type films, I got carried
- 11:10towards the Green Book. The other?
- 11:12Oh yeah. Which is a fabulous fabric,
- 11:15brilliant film, best film at the Oscars sort of thing.
- 11:17And you can see why it's. I've seen it before.
- 11:21But yeah, Kerry loved it too. It's really good film about
- 11:24true. Again, based on a true story
- 11:26about a black pianist who does a concert tour down to the South
- 11:30of America when everything's still segregated.
- 11:33And the Green Book is the list of hotels that the black people
- 11:36are allowed to stay in. Oh, where they can eat and all
- 11:39this sort of stuff. Yeah, but the.
- 11:41The guy that goes with him, he's like chauffeur sort of thing.
- 11:44Is this like white bouncer from New York sort of thing?
- 11:47And they bond. And yeah, excellent film.
- 11:51Very good. Well from films to something
- 11:55completely different, we have Mr. Trevor Williams and his
- 12:01Cosmic lunch box. So tell us first, Mal, cosmic
- 12:05legions aren't on anything. And when it's Trevor Williams
- 12:08photos, even better. Yeah, I, I actually, I think
- 12:16it's this photo I got from Legions Con last year.
- 12:19So. Oh.
- 12:20Yeah, yeah, I got that one as well, yeah.
- 12:21The minute they sort of got announced, I was like, Oh my
- 12:24God, Oh my God, Oh my God. And I've got my order in like
- 12:26within minutes of him going, of them going live.
- 12:29So I think it's going to be epic.
- 12:32And it's funny because I was actually, I don't know why, but,
- 12:35you know, you get one of these ideas in your head that I'd be
- 12:38cool to have, like a classic lunch box to just use for
- 12:41storage or something. So it was something I was
- 12:45looking for as well. But everything I've seen, I was
- 12:49like, it's cool, you know? But then the minute we get in
- 12:52cosmic art, hell yeah, I'm right in there.
- 12:55Yeah, very cool. Can I check do all those figures
- 12:58come with it? Because they're obviously in the
- 13:00pictures. Oh well, that's what I've paid
- 13:02for. I don't know.
- 13:03Yeah, yeah. Is this going to be another
- 13:07Swigs bottle? Again, sorry.
- 13:11And it does have the Cosmic Legions logo on it, which means
- 13:16that it's actually sanctioned, as I said, yeah, yeah, by the
- 13:20Horsemen. So that's also very cool.
- 13:23And it does a pre-order up and you can get it here at the 16
- 13:27under score shooter Instagram page or 16 shooter on Facebook.
- 13:33And you did post in the Cabal and there's a Google form that
- 13:36you fill out and you can PayPal $36 as a pre-order and you can
- 13:42pick it up at Legions Con. So that's a little discount for
- 13:46doing it that way. And you guarantee your, your
- 13:49lunch box. So yeah, I'll definitely be
- 13:51doing that. I I of course, meant to do it
- 13:53straight away and then got distracted to do something else
- 13:56and never got back to it until of course, preparing for the
- 13:59show. And then I realized, oops.
- 14:03But yeah, definitely, definitely must get for me.
- 14:05And the nice thing about buying something like this at Legions
- 14:08Con is when you put in your luggage, you can fill it with
- 14:10other stuff. It's exactly what I it doesn't
- 14:13technically take up space in the luggage.
- 14:15No, in fact, you know, might even be extra protection for
- 14:19resin parts. Yeah, yeah, yeah, a little bit
- 14:21of bubble wrap. Yeah.
- 14:23And put your parts in so absolutely perfect.
- 14:27So me and I'll be getting 1 you rich.
- 14:31No lunch box, but not my thing. I don't feel the need to collect
- 14:34those. It's all absolutely awesome as
- 14:36this is, it's not for me. Cool.
- 14:40Very good. And well done to Trevor.
- 14:42That's a nice little unique item.
- 14:44Great. Yeah.
- 14:45Because it's, it's always difficult to when you you know,
- 14:50you're selling pictures and prints and stuff and it's always
- 14:53difficult to think of something else to kind of put it on that
- 14:57isn't just kind of a tacky like, you know, because of course you
- 15:00could get photo on everything. But what's going to sell and
- 15:03what's cool and what maybe is collector friendly and
- 15:07nostalgic. And I think a lot of collectors
- 15:10would remember kind of lunch boxes from the 80s.
- 15:14Yeah, stuff. And it's blue, so woohoo.
- 15:18Yeah. Yeah, I don't know why that's a
- 15:21woohoo, but yeah, this is. Trevor and it's blue.
- 15:24Oh, Oh dear, that. Was rich.
- 15:31Trevor Rich No. Right, We should get on to the
- 15:40main topic. This is going to come up in one
- 15:44of the questions. So don't we need to say too much
- 15:47about it, but we think possibly figure obscure this weekend,
- 15:52which interesting. And by the time, yeah.
- 15:57So we can talk about that on the actual question that it comes up
- 16:01on. And there's also the mythic, the
- 16:05Legions Armory experience at Legions Con is going to be
- 16:08revealed tonight as we record this.
- 16:10So you will already have heard it.
- 16:12And Jeremy's show, I'm sure lots of people are tuning in tonight,
- 16:15Wednesday. And so we're not even going to
- 16:19talk anything about it other than, you know, it looks like
- 16:23figures and stuff. You know what it is?
- 16:26We don't know what it is yet. So we're going to talk about it
- 16:29on next week's show and give our reaction and considered opinion
- 16:32that that's unfair. Sounds good to me.
- 16:35Awesome. Got to keep that coming.
- 16:38Got it. Yeah, I'm just, I'm just trying
- 16:40to resist as the temptation stay up tonight, but it's like, no,
- 16:43just catch it and replay tomorrow.
- 16:44Yeah, it's got a decent light skip.
- 16:46Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 16:47You'll see a post on the Kabal that'll explain it all and then
- 16:51you can go back and watch the stream when you have time.
- 16:55But yeah, so thanks. That's nice little.
- 16:58I like when we get stuff to talk about because we've we've
- 17:00generated a lot of our own stuff to talk about over the last few
- 17:03weeks, which is cool as well. But it's also nice to get some
- 17:07something on a plate, you know? Yeah.
- 17:08Yeah, definitely. Right, let's go into listener
- 17:12questions righty. Oh, so the first question comes
- 17:23from Chris James Pretty he was pretty quick on the draw, so
- 17:30that's why he's first in line here.
- 17:33He says this is for each of you. If the four Horsemen were to
- 17:37start another legions line, what would you like them to do next?
- 17:44So, mall, you're ready to go. Yeah, big time.
- 17:49I've kind of said it before, I would love 6 inch Wild West
- 17:54figures or what you know, Western, let's call it Wild West
- 17:58because you need it to be a bit more interesting than just like,
- 18:01you know, the blacksmith and whatever the barkeep and I was
- 18:08as I was a. Barking.
- 18:10Sorry mall, if there's a barkeep we have to get a Splatoon as
- 18:12well. That would be a legal
- 18:14requirement. You could come, you could get a
- 18:16bar set, couldn't you? But yeah, I'd, as I've sort of
- 18:20hinted out there, I do wonder how just a straight western line
- 18:23would, how interesting that would be in terms of characters.
- 18:27So maybe some sort of theming and I went sort of, it could be
- 18:30sci-fi, Wild West, but actually more fun, sort of some sort of
- 18:34horror theme. So you could have undead Cowboys
- 18:37and the demon Cowboys, werewolves could all come into
- 18:42or well, though perhaps you could, you know, some of the
- 18:45Native American legends. So you've got not werewolves,
- 18:48skinwalkers and things like that?
- 18:50Yeah, yeah. And then you could actually make
- 18:53it quite compatible with the existing Legions lines as well,
- 18:57and people could mix them up in however they wanted.
- 19:00I mean, they would anyway, but you know, you know, failing
- 19:03that, Pirates pirate theme would be great.
- 19:09But again, I think you need to introduce fantasy element to
- 19:12that to make it a bit more interesting.
- 19:14And I'm thinking sort of the thing that was kind of coming to
- 19:17mind was some of the stuff you see, like Pirates of the
- 19:20Caribbean. So you could have sea creatures
- 19:24or, you know, you've got the ghost pirates, but they've got,
- 19:26like, barnacles over them. Well, yeah.
- 19:28And you as Andy here, as I was saying it, Richard, like the sea
- 19:30creatures idea. But it would be really cool to
- 19:32get something like that and, you know, crap men and whatever
- 19:36else. So yeah, I think they're the two
- 19:39wild, Wild West. The Western theme would be my
- 19:42big one, but pirates would be cool as well.
- 19:46Yeah, I think it's, it's a similar vibe, you know, would
- 19:51you, would it be kind of steampunk by BB going for there
- 19:53with with them or would it be more classic?
- 19:56I think classic sort of thing I think steampunk starts to creep
- 19:59into which is why I say not maybe yeah, yeah, and I think
- 20:03it'd be cool to have something completely different something
- 20:05period, but then introduced. That's why I went horror and or
- 20:10fantasy more than you know, maybe a sci-fi.
- 20:15I guess I guess steampunk might work in a sort of horror style
- 20:17thing as well, but. Oh yeah, totally.
- 20:19The idea of zombie and demon Cowboys is amazing how you've
- 20:22sold me completely on that. Both your ideas, in fact, are
- 20:25better than the two I've got listed.
- 20:26So yeah, make miles. Make miles.
- 20:28So samurai, Egyptian legions or what?
- 20:34I don't know what yes the first one is Eastern Legions, which is
- 20:40Samurai strangely enough. People would be disappointed,
- 20:42you know, if you didn't come out with.
- 20:44Actually I'm not covered Egyptian stuff here so I've let
- 20:46myself down badly, but. That's OK, I haven't covered
- 20:49them either. As a samurai actually garu like
- 20:52the foot soldiers with big round hats.
- 20:54Obviously you can do all sorts of stuff for that.
- 20:55And again, you can have different races.
- 20:57You don't necessarily need to be human.
- 20:58Although I wasn't reminding ninjas like horse like Mongol
- 21:02horse Archers, Indian warriors on elephant, specific island
- 21:06warriors, all that sort of stuff.
- 21:08It'd be quite cool. You could bring like yokai into
- 21:10it, couldn't you? Again, have that fantastic
- 21:12element and have things like that?
- 21:14That'd be awesome. Yeah, and then one of mine
- 21:18touched. Oh, sorry, you can't remember.
- 21:20I was going to say every I just finished watching Blue Eyed
- 21:22Samurai and whilst that doesn't have, you know, doesn't have
- 21:26demons in it as such, although there is an episode that there's
- 21:31something I must admit when I was thinking of this because I'd
- 21:37just been watching Blue Eyed Samurai, Samurai in East and
- 21:41sort of that era came to my mind as well.
- 21:44Like some really cool looking characters you could have.
- 21:49Sorry, Rich Carry. On No no, my second one.
- 21:52I don't know how this would work to be honest, but I've gone
- 21:54America's Legions but it's all different time periods so it'd
- 21:57have to be some sort of time travel element to make this work
- 22:00a storyline. Yeah.
- 22:02You know, they've got Jeremy doing the stories or, you know,
- 22:07in this supposed fictitious line.
- 22:10So yeah. So yes, you could have like the
- 22:12native North American tribes with the horses and all that
- 22:15sort of stuff. You got the Aztecs, Mayans, you
- 22:18can put the conquistadors in, there's somebody arriving and
- 22:21obviously threatening them. You can even go down the Cowboys
- 22:24route, which is what I put in mine as well, sort of thing,
- 22:26particularly time hopping and that sort of stuff.
- 22:28Isn't this this is kind of reminding me it's not of course
- 22:33the same, but figure obscure a vibe where where you get
- 22:36different types of characters that kind of go together as one
- 22:40line because you wouldn't necessarily say Headless
- 22:43Horseman and Monkey King in the same.
- 22:47No, you wouldn't be right. But you could have like your
- 22:51main characters, you call characters that go through this
- 22:54the waves and having so you could get say, I don't know, say
- 23:01whatever your main character is if he's in one wave where you
- 23:05found. A Native American chief or
- 23:06something? That's it.
- 23:07Or or, or, or either a cowboy or, you know, a soldier of that
- 23:11time and in one and then he's jumped into the next time and
- 23:15he's whatever there and that. So that'd be quite cool because
- 23:18you could get different versions of a character.
- 23:22All right, that Ma. Trying to be yeah, so.
- 23:25In in one time period, yeah, more like he's like the boss and
- 23:28the other time period he's just like, you know, the local
- 23:30butchers. Quantum Leap.
- 23:32But it is basically quantum leap, Quantum leap legions, yes.
- 23:40I mean, there might be a rights issue, but I'm sure we can work
- 23:42around that. Yeah, Yeah.
- 23:43Well, well see this, this is, you know, completely
- 23:45hypothetical. There is no license to be to be
- 23:48got for that, you know. But yeah, I'd really love the
- 23:51idea of like, yeah, Native American chief and then, as you
- 23:53say, in the next one, all of a sudden he's a soldier in the
- 23:55Union Army or the Confederate Army or something.
- 23:57And yeah, just pinging around sort of thing.
- 23:59That would be amazing. Cool, I've gone for if they make
- 24:06up their own superhero line. So it's a superhero line?
- 24:10That'd be cool. But like, you know, not
- 24:12infringing on any IP, so not making the Superman or whatever,
- 24:16but then inventing their own story back story.
- 24:19So you know, like the boys obviously.
- 24:21Did you know that is a superhero line or it's a story, you know,
- 24:24it's not the toy line isn't really a thing.
- 24:27I mean, they have a few few figures, but you know, this
- 24:30would be literally a superhero story made-up of made-up
- 24:33superheroes with particular powers and the Horsemen figures
- 24:37so superb. You know, it of course would be
- 24:41very difficult sell for them in a way that because there's so
- 24:44many other established superhero lines, so possibly wouldn't make
- 24:48sense. But you know, in a fantasy
- 24:50hypothetical world, I'd love to see their take even on just a
- 24:54few kind of superhero figures. Immediately what came to mind
- 24:58with that was Can you imagine the awesome capes and soft goods
- 25:02that see Jason could do for them as well?
- 25:04They'd be more simple than some of what he does now, but look
- 25:08incredible. Totally, totally.
- 25:10Yeah, right. Shall we move on?
- 25:13And so this is still Chris. And so he has a couple of he has
- 25:17questions then for directed at each of us.
- 25:20So Mal with legions con on the horizon and the fodder swap and
- 25:25pop and swap event. OK, the hood, it's called shoes
- 25:33in mind. Are there specific cosmic pieces
- 25:35you'd be looking for? So.
- 25:38Not particularly specific ones because I don't actually have
- 25:42loads of cosmic fodder. I've got bits.
- 25:47But I was, as I was thinking about this again, specs, Ian
- 25:50parts. I really don't have any of them.
- 25:51That cool. Excuse me?
- 25:56I'd say the most the most valuable parts in that scenario
- 25:59are the ones that generally you can't make us because of the
- 26:02articulated parts would be very. Valuable, yeah.
- 26:05Yeah, well, I'd hands, I'd love some specs, Ian, hands to do
- 26:08things with. And then outside of that, as
- 26:12much, yeah, I seem to be lacking lower legs and feet for some
- 26:17reason. I must have used more of them on
- 26:19things to than anything else. And the things I think
- 26:25unfortunately or fortunately will be on the list for a lot of
- 26:28people is the cloth arms and legs and leather gauntlets and
- 26:33things like that. In fact, they might be pretty
- 26:35impossible to get because I imagine a lot of people want to
- 26:38keep them for themselves anyway, but they'd be cool.
- 26:42Kind of what you'd be surprised at this type of event because I,
- 26:45I didn't have fodder last year, but I bought a few pieces of
- 26:49money because it was kind of more informal thing.
- 26:51And there was parts that I was just going, holy crap, I need
- 26:55these. And other people were like,
- 26:56yeah, sure, I have loads of them, you know?
- 26:58Oh wow. OK.
- 26:59Yeah, I think you just need to find your match, you know?
- 27:02Yeah, yeah, yeah. But yeah.
- 27:04So that that's anything and everything really.
- 27:10I don't know in cosmic if there's if there's parts that
- 27:13are only on one figure would be few and far between now, but
- 27:18that would be. I think only a couple of them
- 27:23have belts that don't have the pads on the sides.
- 27:27Yeah, that might be the one that is.
- 27:29I can't think who it is who does have that, but yeah, someone.
- 27:32Does and maybe female parts as well are a little bit if you're
- 27:37going to make female customs in cosmic, there isn't as many
- 27:42options for figures because even one of the female cousin Cali,
- 27:46and she's basically a mythic build apart from yeah, yeah.
- 27:50So that's some pieces, yeah. Vulgar parts would be good,
- 27:53actually. Yeah, I don't.
- 27:55I don't have any. Fog has gone.
- 27:59That's what you need. I've actually got a spare one of
- 28:01them. I'm like David.
- 28:06Right Rich if and when 4 horsemen do lizard men, how
- 28:10would you like them to be portrayed and details photos are
- 28:15oh. I'm just going to make myself
- 28:16comfortable. To be honest, To be honest, I'm
- 28:20pretty cold on holism, man. Ideas.
- 28:24Fine, fine. OK.
- 28:26And my questions. I've talked about this like.
- 28:31Lizards, yes. They are good point.
- 28:36Nobody will be surprised by these.
- 28:37I love the I mean they obviously can't do the warm aesthetic
- 28:40because that's IP protected. But this is the sort of this is
- 28:44the sort of look of my lizard men sort of thing.
- 28:46It's it's very primal. Lots of like weapons with like
- 28:51bone ends and that sort of stuff.
- 28:54Lots of bright colors. I mean here you've got the
- 28:56greens, the Blues, the Reds, gold armour, bone armour, all
- 29:00that sort of thing. And then I said before different
- 29:03sizes. You have little skinks, for
- 29:04instance, like top right picture through to read, big meaty brute
- 29:09scale sorts of lizards. Yeah, and just a variety of like
- 29:15face things. So like the bottom left picture
- 29:17there for anyone that's watching on YouTube.
- 29:19The lizard's got a thrilled neck piece.
- 29:20So again, that's just something a bit different that you could
- 29:22just put in one of them just to differentiate them a little bit.
- 29:26So this is the sort of thing I would want.
- 29:30Yeah, it's the vibe. I mean, of course they won't
- 29:32infringe on Warhammer IP, but the vibe, you know, there's,
- 29:35there's no, you can't put IP over a, you know, a lizard
- 29:39build. But but there's probably just
- 29:42particular things you couldn't do.
- 29:44Say, and if I just I just Google searched lizard men and
- 29:49obviously war load of Warhammer stuff comes up and then a load
- 29:51of other things that but they are, you know, they're obviously
- 29:54that similar sort of feel. So I must admit I wrote answers
- 29:58for other people's questions as well.
- 29:59So I Oh yeah, you think that of? Course chime in if you have
- 30:02answers for. I think they've made a great
- 30:04start with the bodies they've produced for tiger and and you
- 30:09know the what they've done so Fraxian Fraxians and even the
- 30:13the then the oak Oaka troll, no Oaka scale lizards, a great
- 30:18body. I mean, they've made.
- 30:19Lizards. Oh yeah, yeah, Oracle or and.
- 30:23Kragnar body and all. I think I would want just really
- 30:28colourful, brightly coloured again.
- 30:31They've started quite well with oranges, bright greens, bright
- 30:34Blues. I'd love them to carry that on.
- 30:37Maybe even more patterns on them than we've got at the moment.
- 30:42And I even have like a rank system with the different
- 30:44colours mouth. So you could have, you know,
- 30:45like the the warriors are blue, the mages are bright yellows or
- 30:50something. Yeah, that sort of thing.
- 30:53Yeah, of some sort. That would be cool.
- 30:55And I've I've gone I've said I'd quite like them to take a leaf
- 30:58out of the motu book. So was some with long necks,
- 31:01some with long arms, you know, the different, like you said,
- 31:05the fand. I think that'd be cool.
- 31:07And here's a question for you, Rich.
- 31:09What would you want the armor to look like?
- 31:12Would you want it to be nightly? You know, or I mean in a lot of
- 31:18the. I think that would work, but I
- 31:20think for me, the lizard men, the idea is the more primal sort
- 31:23of things, a bone armor or you know, the Mayan type sort of
- 31:28look to it. I mean there's no reason why you
- 31:30can't have lizard Knights, but I I'd want more basic primal sort
- 31:34of thing or like the Thraxian type look but for lizard men.
- 31:38It's funny because that's kind of how I think.
- 31:40I mean, my couple of savage Crucible lizards, as you know,
- 31:43have sort of gone much more barbarian esque.
- 31:49You know, I've put him in the and.
- 31:52No, just to be clear, no barbarian esque.
- 31:56Well now I know you wouldn't, but it's again that more prime,
- 31:59that more primal armour, isn't it?
- 32:01Yes, absolutely, yeah. Cloth and Leathers rather than
- 32:04and skins rather than. Yeah, in my head, lizard men
- 32:09aren't going to be like, you know, not advance isn't the
- 32:13right word, but not the sort of society where they're going to
- 32:16wear fancy stuff and this sort of stuff.
- 32:17It really is more ease the word, but it's more primal stuff.
- 32:20It's like, you know, we just come out of the forests.
- 32:24This is what we've got. You know we're going to rage
- 32:27your village. Type thing, yeah.
- 32:31Cool, right, Let's get on to the next questions.
- 32:39That's for me, he says. Pancakes or waffles?
- 32:47And then he also says I can't wait to see you guys at Legions
- 32:49Con and have some pints. Cheers fellas.
- 32:52So that's definitely absolutely reciprocated.
- 32:56And what I'd like is a waffles pancake and then I'll feed it to
- 33:00the cat. Poor waffles.
- 33:08I know. Oh.
- 33:09I did. Oh, who's talking about the the
- 33:12German? Sorry.
- 33:15And as we used to have a gerbil called pancake as well, I can't
- 33:18pick one or the other. It's not fair.
- 33:20That's right. Maybe he, maybe he remembered
- 33:24that, you know, because Chris is probably more attentively
- 33:28listening to you than I am. Oh yeah, maybe that's what the
- 33:34little winky face is. Yeah, it's definitely for
- 33:37waffles, but yeah, yeah, and even anyway, let's move along or
- 33:42we'll be here all night. Eugene eunuch Doctor Graham on
- 33:47the instance and his table is doctor dreams customs allegiance
- 33:51con. So he says multi part questions
- 33:54for each of you. So first for me, he says, what
- 33:58are your favorite customizing tools slash companies?
- 34:02So for me, I took this as more of the stuff I use and rather
- 34:06than like the third party companies.
- 34:08And so mostly is pro creative paint and for yeah, for many of
- 34:15the, you know, for most of the paint jobs, but I use a lot of
- 34:18contrast paint as well for, you know, different effects and when
- 34:22you need to get gradients, contrast paint can be good and
- 34:26or you know, for washes and stuff like that, but you can use
- 34:30the program paints thin down for that as well.
- 34:33But you know, contrast paints can be more vibrant and just
- 34:37have the colors maybe that you wanted.
- 34:41But there's so many good paint lines out now, you know, any of
- 34:44the new kind of Vallejo. So they have they have redone
- 34:47all their paint in the different lines.
- 34:49They're all good. They're all pretty much of A
- 34:52level. You've heard guys like Eric
- 34:54Miller who love them. So I mean, you know, they're not
- 34:57bad if people like Erica like them.
- 34:59The two thin coats. That's the guy that used to be
- 35:03one of the brand managers kind of painters for Warhammer on
- 35:07their YouTube Duncan roads. So his paints are basically the
- 35:10Citadel paints, but a little bit in dropper bottles, more matte
- 35:17kind of finish and does them on triads and stuff like this.
- 35:21So you get the, you know, three similar shades and you can, you
- 35:24know, use them in that kind of layering method to create really
- 35:28cool paint jobs. So the new Army Painter paints,
- 35:32the fanatic line that's also of the same level for people rave
- 35:36about them. I haven't had them myself, but
- 35:38you know, and then there's an alternative to contrast paints
- 35:41as Army Painter speed paint, also good.
- 35:44I found them a little bit smell. Just got a few to try a little
- 35:48bit smelly and a little bit different to use to contrast
- 35:53paint. So I would just have to learn
- 35:54how to use them a bit. And so I didn't find them enough
- 36:00better than contrast paint because they are a bit cheaper
- 36:03to bother with that. So I just because I had enough
- 36:05contrast paints, I just decided to continue that road.
- 36:09But I think if you were starting off, get the speed paints
- 36:13because they're cheaper than the contrast paints and they're
- 36:15they're just as good. I think that for metals, very
- 36:20specifically Valeo metal color, they come in these 60 milliliter
- 36:23bottles, so bigger. They're the best metals.
- 36:26They're not great for dry brushing because they're thin,
- 36:29but for everything else, amazing, amazing.
- 36:34The metals for dry brushing, you know, the Citadel or broker
- 36:39metals are good or the Valeo metals are good for dry
- 36:41brushing. But these metal colors are
- 36:43amazing, one coat coverage from metal.
- 36:47The only problem is they don't have a very good gold.
- 36:50So that kind of sucks. But hey.
- 36:56So then for priming, I used to use rat cans, but it was really
- 37:01even with the Citadel ones, you know, would often get kind of
- 37:08kind of a little bit of texture on the surface and stuff or
- 37:11whatever. It was just a bit annoying.
- 37:13So I switched to the airbrush surface primer from Valeo.
- 37:16It works perfectly. And I also use the Valeo varnish
- 37:21or the AK Interactive varnish is really good and they have a
- 37:26gloss and a matte varnish that's really good through the airbrush
- 37:29as well. And the thing about those is
- 37:31they mostly don't do anything to the colors when you varnish
- 37:35them. I find sometimes if you use
- 37:37rattle can varnish, you can get a good or a bad surprise after
- 37:42furnishing them. So, so that's that.
- 37:46So that's mostly the tools. I have loads of other stuff.
- 37:48I mean, the airbrush uses a harder and steam BIC airbrush,
- 37:53you know, but you don't need to use airbrush.
- 37:56I just like using it at this stage and you can do things a
- 37:59bit quicker, a bit easier, but there's nothing with the
- 38:02airbrush you can't really do with the with the paintbrush
- 38:07unless you're really, really, really good with the airbrush,
- 38:11you know? I do think, and again it
- 38:15probably does come with getting better and better with it.
- 38:17I do think you can perhaps get smoother blends.
- 38:21You. Can.
- 38:22Brush, yeah, possibly a quick, quicker, smoother.
- 38:25Yeah, yeah, yeah. And maybe some of the things I
- 38:28do with the fluorescent paints are a lot easier with the with
- 38:32the brush because I do them sometimes with the brush and it
- 38:36takes ages because their coverage on the fluorescence is
- 38:39terrible. But with the airbrush it's
- 38:42better because it, you can do thinner, quicker layers with the
- 38:46airbrush. And right.
- 38:49And then the next part of that question was artistic
- 38:54inspirations for customizing. So I do like realistic and more
- 38:59than kind of cartoon style and I always have probably I grew up
- 39:04in the town I come from in Ireland is like a medieval town.
- 39:07So we have an old castle, an old Abbey town.
- 39:11It's a walled town, still has a lot of the town walls.
- 39:13So all of that kind of stuff was in my childhood.
- 39:17You get a lot of that in the UK as well.
- 39:19I guess you guys would be familiar with that.
- 39:22So I think that's where I probably definitely got the love
- 39:26for the kind of, you know, Knights and all that kind of
- 39:28stuff. And, you know, back when I was
- 39:31growing up, it was all around me.
- 39:33So, you know, and then for cosmic, just love bright colors,
- 39:3980s sci-fi, you know, definitely that's where the likes of the
- 39:42running Man, you know, that's the kind of color palette I'm
- 39:45thinking of for. And then maybe more cartoonish
- 39:49with the cosmic then, you know. Any comments on that, boys?
- 39:55Or should I continue the rest? He asks a similar question of
- 40:00us. I think you later.
- 40:01OK. And then favorite piece you've
- 40:07created and purchased? So the favorite piece I did is
- 40:12probably this one, the Walrus, just because it kind of came
- 40:16together so nicely and kind of look, I think this is the custom
- 40:21I did that looks like it could be a figure that you might buy
- 40:26more than a custom. So that's why I really like it.
- 40:30And it just came together nicely.
- 40:33And it was the first time I painted those cloth parts.
- 40:36So that was kind of cool as well to kind of do that.
- 40:39And it has this really cool torso piece from Anthony as
- 40:43well, as well as the head from Plantry Dog with the Walrus
- 40:46works really well. And the blunderbuss from Wolf
- 40:49King, so named after Nate Strong, I think.
- 40:53And I think Eric LeBron has this piece.
- 40:55I traded him that for one of his customs.
- 41:00So that's my favorite custom that I did and purchased.
- 41:05And I haven't purchased a lot of custom stuff because they do
- 41:09customs, but I did get some customs and trades like that.
- 41:12Cosmic one of Eric, Dennis Derby just gifted me his Jade Knight.
- 41:18So I have a Jade Knight. It's really cool and I've got
- 41:22heads from Eugene Samurai head that I need to put on a custom
- 41:27Blaze bare. I've got a Svexian head from him
- 41:29and Curtis. I've got a green orc head that
- 41:32actually is on an orc on my shelf.
- 41:34So they're the kind of ones that I have at the tip of my tongue.
- 41:40So they're the ones I went for right now.
- 41:46Give my I'll give my voice are breaking out after this
- 41:49question. What type of customs are your
- 41:52favorite to see made? Do you want me to do it in
- 41:55parts? Yeah, yeah.
- 41:57Yeah, I'll split it into yeah, I'll split it into mythics.
- 42:02I love seeing the creatures that people make, whether they're the
- 42:05fuzzy little creatures or gory things, horror themed that not
- 42:09gory. I actually put, I like sort of
- 42:12the gruesome sinister ones, although I'm not too fussed
- 42:15about them. I mean, loads of gore on them.
- 42:18But some, there's some, I mean, Leland does some incredible
- 42:24weird creatures. I love a lot of the stuff he
- 42:27does. Lenny Kingpin does a load of
- 42:31really cool ones. There's all sorts out there and
- 42:34cosmic anything and everything. I just love seeing what people
- 42:37come up with. You're on a cosmic dwarf kick
- 42:41now, aren't you? Well, yeah, there's some amazing
- 42:43dwarf ones coming out from different people.
- 42:45Noah Pratt, like Mark Calvo are the first ones that come to
- 42:49mind, but there's been a few. I like what Jeremy just did
- 42:56recently where he took the legs off the spawn and stuck.
- 43:01Then when he started he showed the picture of him cutting bits
- 43:04of like high. That's yeah, real serious
- 43:06customers going on. One of my favorite cosmic
- 43:08customs is from actually a while ago now from pre last year's
- 43:13legions carnies. Curtis did Darth Maul kind of
- 43:18character using a yeah, some sort of robotic legs that all
- 43:25King teased and then I don't think ever released.
- 43:28So yeah. Yeah, I really hope they do
- 43:32release those legs at some point because they were awesome, but.
- 43:34Was that the one that was that he did really glossy then, is
- 43:39that that one or was that a different?
- 43:41I can't remember, can't remember.
- 43:43Oh, and of course, but we're a bit biased with this one.
- 43:45He's recent paradigm and. Oh yeah.
- 43:50Incredible. That was the next level.
- 43:52It's amazing. Yeah, yeah.
- 43:55So yeah, I think anything and everything cosmic cool or the
- 44:02cuter. Noah and Eugene, I think I've
- 44:05posted their some paint jobs on the custom pieces we sent them
- 44:10which we will get to maybe next week.
- 44:13Didn't have chance to fit it in this week.
- 44:14So they are. Don't worry about that boys, we
- 44:18have. We love what you've done and we
- 44:21will definitely showcase them as soon as we get slot in the show,
- 44:27Right. And then the next part of the
- 44:29question, if you could have any piece commissioned from a
- 44:32customizer and it can't be a specific, a Legion specific
- 44:37characters, so like a custom Legion Star Wars character or
- 44:41something. What would you like to see?
- 44:44I think I then based on my answer to the first one, I have
- 44:47to go with something cowboy by western related, don't I?
- 44:51So either parts to make a cowboy, a full cowboy out of, I
- 44:56don't know, maybe boots and whatever or or if a full custom,
- 45:02say maybe Wyatt Earp would be cool.
- 45:05That story one of my favorite films as well.
- 45:08So yeah. I wonder, is Wyatt Earp
- 45:10something? Oh oh, from.
- 45:14Again, from the same story. Yeah, usually he was Wyatt
- 45:17Earp's friend. So yeah, the the OK Corral and
- 45:20all that sort of thing. I wonder if they're ever going
- 45:24to be, or are they public domain?
- 45:26Probably not. I don't know.
- 45:29I mean, they were really. Cool.
- 45:30So it might be humans are real people, yeah.
- 45:32Yeah, yeah, it might have. Artists might not work like
- 45:35that. Yeah.
- 45:36There you go. Could put it on the obscure
- 45:38list. Yeah.
- 45:41And what are your artistic inspirations for your
- 45:44customizing? There you go.
- 45:45Sorry I didn't see. That yeah, that is cool.
- 45:48Anything and your favorite. Piece created and customized as
- 45:51well. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 45:53So inspiration is anything and everything I'll watch.
- 45:57I mean, a lot of Games Workshop stuff I watch sort of the minis
- 46:01they produce and as, but as well as watching people paint them
- 46:07will give me ideas. Watching the Beetlejuice.
- 46:14There's AI don't want to say in case it's a bit of a spoiler.
- 46:17It was a nice little cameo, but the, the makeup they give to
- 46:21some of the dead people, you start going all that'd be quite
- 46:24cool to try and replicate that on their head or something like
- 46:27that. I've watched a lot of sci-fi
- 46:32fantasy and horror in my time. So, you know, you, you, you call
- 46:36back some of that. You look watch some of that,
- 46:39Yeah. And then and something that I've
- 46:43stopped watching, I should probably watch more of.
- 46:45Again, he's anime and manga. I used to watch loads of that.
- 46:47So Akira is one of my all time favourites.
- 46:50But then I've never sort of moved away from that.
- 46:54And then on to favorite pieces created and customized.
- 46:57So again, I've split it to mythic and cosmic and he's not
- 47:00finished. So this guy would be my
- 47:02favorite. Come on.
- 47:04Yeah, he's, I know he's lacking. I need a an ultramarine blue
- 47:09skirt piece to give him to cover his bum and then he finished
- 47:14it's. Truly.
- 47:15Well, this is yeah, I need some. Oh.
- 47:16This is the famous shield, isn't it?
- 47:18Yeah, yeah, with the Golden knob shield, it's meant to be a
- 47:22Warhammer, but you know, with Rich and John, who needs
- 47:25enemies? But yeah.
- 47:32He he would and will probably once he's finished, be my
- 47:36favorite. But as things stand as a
- 47:38completed one, it was actually one of the first ones I did with
- 47:41like a kit. It was the Flayer set that
- 47:44Jeremy created and they sold on Legion shop and I kind of just.
- 47:50Awesome. It is awesome, yeah.
- 47:51Yeah, Jeremy's paint Apple, I say copied, did my version and
- 47:55added like inspired me. Yeah, I'm thinking he might get
- 47:59an upgrade, although might not work with the feet.
- 48:03You might get an upgrade when the Thraxians come out and then
- 48:05you can have more wooden parts. Absolutely, yeah.
- 48:09In Cosmino bride fighters. I like bride fighters in cosmic.
- 48:16I got this head from a meal. I always have one nearby Ridge.
- 48:23Amazing. No, it's all right.
- 48:26It's all right. I got I got this head from Emil
- 48:30at legions car. Oh, that's awesome, Head.
- 48:33Yeah. I'm a little salty dog.
- 48:35When you close to that, yeah. Just because it was an epic bit
- 48:39of repainting all the armour and of course, stupidly I picked
- 48:41yellow, but I think it came out really well.
- 48:44And then from a cutting bits up and you know, doing something a
- 48:49bit fun. My Geiger inspired customer, I
- 48:53really like, I really like the paint app.
- 48:56I mean, the one thing I'd like to go back and do is do
- 49:00something a bit different here with the pipes because they're
- 49:03not finished very well, give the secrets away, they're not
- 49:05finished very well where they go into the belt.
- 49:08So I'd like to perhaps go back and revisit him at some point.
- 49:11Well, as you're not telling them, well, no, that's that's
- 49:15fine. It's from my own personal enjoy.
- 49:18Need to worry about people knowing the flaws or are
- 49:24perceived flaws. I should say I'm sure they're
- 49:26they're not really flaws, you're just being so critical.
- 49:29I like, I like to make sure things, that's the one thing I
- 49:31like to try and do with my customs is make sure they're,
- 49:34they're finished and you could move them around as much as you
- 49:39could with a, you know, a normal figure.
- 49:42I try and finish them like that, yeah.
- 49:46Excellent, right, Rich, as someone that purchases a lot of
- 49:54custom pieces, don't tell Mrs. Jones what stands out to you as
- 49:59something that makes you want to go.
- 50:02I want it for. Me it's it's a race or even a
- 50:06character type that I love so and that we don't have official
- 50:10ones for generally. So lizard men head sculpts, for
- 50:13instance, werewolves, and that's sort of is.
- 50:17That these pictures you sent me, no.
- 50:19Not yet, no. No jumping ahead, John.
- 50:21Jumping ahead already. Or then also something that made
- 50:29me allow me to create a new faction.
- 50:31So we've had lots of shark heads for people recently.
- 50:34We've had lots of cybernetic cephalopod heads.
- 50:37Go, John, go pictures you go. No, that's.
- 50:45You go. No, that's all.
- 50:47I haven't this one, I think. Oh, there's one.
- 50:48There we go. Yeah.
- 50:50So this sort of thing, for instance, it's just a gaggle of
- 50:54cephalopod heads and like this Cybernetic 1.
- 50:58So I've already got a cybernetic cephalopod fact affiliation
- 51:02rather planned out in Cosmics. Looking to pick up some lovely
- 51:07painted versions of a lot of these.
- 51:08Hopefully the heads that legions con.
- 51:10Who does these particular ones? Or this is a mixture?
- 51:14It's a mixture, so it's. The GN art has done a few of
- 51:18them there. Yeah, he's so GNR is one that
- 51:21there's a lot of stuff for Wolf King, Wolf King and this sort of
- 51:25stuff. Yeah, and he's worked with.
- 51:30I know Josh, is it Josh Brown custom sell them and somebody
- 51:34else Rocket Fist customs. I think of the two people that
- 51:37sell these and they sort of worked with him over them sort
- 51:40of thing. So, you know, you've got got one
- 51:42there with like an eye thing and a breathe mask.
- 51:44And so it's that sort of thing that makes me go wow, you know,
- 51:47I think that's all one of these original brilliant.
- 51:49I can have a a cosmic cephalopod.
- 51:53And then it's like, what can another one?
- 51:54What can another one? OK.
- 51:55And then all of a sudden I got an entire faction plan back with
- 51:59enemies for them and all this sort of these are the bad guys
- 52:01and then, you know, some good guys them to fight and that sort
- 52:04of stuff. So yeah, something that
- 52:06something that makes you think, right, OK, I can make a little
- 52:08faction with that. Like I've got a cosmic faction
- 52:11with three spider people in, you know, just, I wouldn't have
- 52:15thought that, but the spider heads sort of shine.
- 52:17I was like, yeah, they're really cool, actually.
- 52:19And then what can I do with them?
- 52:22So that's that's advice to the to the custom makers or the
- 52:27custom piece makers is is, you know, do do a kind of a group of
- 52:32things that go together. In order to know my wallet can't
- 52:35take it. But yes, if you want to sell to
- 52:37me then. Yeah.
- 52:37In order to maximize your business from Rich, Yeah, yeah.
- 52:42And it's it's if I see something that I can, I've written here,
- 52:44like see the bio sort of thing. So as soon as I see it ahead,
- 52:47it's like, yeah, I know what I'm going to do with that.
- 52:50And it won't necessarily be, I know the exact body or whatever,
- 52:52but I just the way my brain works is that I'll instantly
- 52:56I'll see something and go, yeah, that's going to be that sort of
- 52:59character. I'm going to do that with him
- 53:03and then something and then lastly, something that will
- 53:05stand out in the collection. And if you're back to the first
- 53:08picture in this set, John, that one.
- 53:11So this is possibly my all time favorite 3D sculpt out there.
- 53:15It's a my action figure customs one.
- 53:18It's called the Warlord. I think I've got 3 or 4
- 53:21different painted versions of this.
- 53:22I've got one that matches that was Scaphoid got on this on a
- 53:26Gladiator, which is for sale on the Jones 1234 if anyone's
- 53:29interested. But it's just, it's just a
- 53:32different take. So it's a zombie.
- 53:34You can see the sort of flesh coming off the chin and that
- 53:36sort of stuff. But at the same time, it's like
- 53:38really dark look with just, you know, the visor with just the
- 53:41little eye holes and the horns and that sort of thing.
- 53:44And you know, as soon as I saw that was like, that's really
- 53:46going to stand out on my shelf. Whatever body I put it on,
- 53:49that's going to stand out. So that's again, that's
- 53:51something that I look for. It's something that gives you
- 53:53the like the wow factor and like, yeah, I'll be able to spot
- 53:55that at a distance. And the next part of the
- 53:59question is, are you, is there any pieces you have regretted
- 54:02not purchasing or just out on? There are two and they're the
- 54:07next two pictures, so no. No, I bought a lot.
- 54:11That was my point, yeah. So my actually make a customs
- 54:16just before I got into the customizing side of things, did
- 54:21these I think they were yeah, the sebadom sculpts and there's
- 54:26a range of temple heads and they re released one where he's got
- 54:29the beard, which I've got and he's a great head.
- 54:32But this is this is like arrogant smirk that this one's
- 54:35got. And yeah, they never.
- 54:36Released it, I kept. Asking whenever they did a pole
- 54:38going who wants to see what re released them?
- 54:41Me and Joe from the enablers the two of us get asking them to re
- 54:46release this one and they didn't.
- 54:47So this is one I kick myself for.
- 54:50And then if you go on to the next one, John?
- 54:53Yeah. Sure.
- 54:54So this one is a prop Masters head that they designed for mere
- 54:59player that people remember mere play.
- 55:01I was quite big in the scene for a while and then just vanished
- 55:05into thin air sort of thing. But he did.
- 55:06It and his match. Yes, he did it as a you can't
- 55:10sell it to anybody else. I just want you to design this
- 55:12for me sort of thing. And it's got like horns, like a
- 55:16peeled skin, face mask and this sort of stuff.
- 55:20And I desperately wanted to use it as a fallen Angel in my
- 55:24display, but I contact these emails, emails like, no, we
- 55:27can't sell it. You know, it's exclusive to Mer
- 55:30play sort of things. So yeah, those are the two, the
- 55:33only two really, that I keep stuff in the backside, but I
- 55:35didn't buy them sooner. OK, it's not too bad.
- 55:38It's not too bad. If you could only go to a few
- 55:42tables at Legions Con this year, who would you say are the must
- 55:46go to? For to you, for you personally.
- 55:50And we have more picks for these, don't we?
- 55:52We do. Can I just I'll say straight
- 55:53from the off that I'm trying to keep this relatively short and
- 55:57usually me. So there are an awful lot more
- 55:59tables that I won't mention that I will definitely go to know me.
- 56:03I'll almost certainly buy stuff from as well sort of thing.
- 56:06This is not a, you know, this is just a few things.
- 56:08So these are a couple of Future Past customs figures from last
- 56:12year. Like, I don't know, we're
- 56:16selling them and they may not well be selling on this year
- 56:17sort of thing, but they were in the far the backroom sort of
- 56:20thing last year. Just incredible paint jobs on
- 56:24that screaming undead zombie, the Egyptian style thing on the
- 56:30right and yeah, you know, on the left you've got the, I guess
- 56:33it's eventually skeletal, all that sort of thing because they
- 56:36had a lot of MOTU inspired stuff with the skulls coming out on
- 56:40the chain, you know, just jaw-dropping.
- 56:42On the chain are awesome. Yeah, just jaw-dropping figures.
- 56:47So yeah, I'm very much looking to see what they've got.
- 56:50Part of me is hoping they're not selling because I bought almost
- 56:53certainly end up buying something if they are because
- 56:55it's so good. But that's one of you gone to
- 56:59the next one, John. So on the left, this is dirt
- 57:04Nagle Dirk Designs. Dirk was just down the the aisle
- 57:07from us last year and he just had some bonkers pieces.
- 57:11So these 3 here are the three that I bought from him.
- 57:14The three painted ones I bought from him.
- 57:15So you've got this weird like alien sea creature one on the
- 57:20top left there and that's that fits very well on a cosmic body.
- 57:25I just decided on a color scheme for the thing to use on the
- 57:27century. So on the color scheme to go
- 57:29with that incredibly fragile. Bless him, he was he was like
- 57:33wrapping up in like, you know, different bits going to be
- 57:36careful with these and this. Sort of stuff.
- 57:37A lot of a lot of spiky bits and stuff.
- 57:40There is, yes. Getting that out a photograph
- 57:43earlier, it was just like, Oh my God, don't break it, don't break
- 57:45it, don't break it. Then bottom left, there's a tree
- 57:49man and I think, I think I've seen somebody else with this.
- 57:50I was not sure it's Dirk's own design, but again, it's just a
- 57:53really cool tree man sculpt. I didn't see anywhere else
- 57:56painted it really well. And then there's like an undead
- 57:59Bay of the Dead type, you know, Cinco de Mayo, whatever it is.
- 58:05Sorry if I've insulted anyone that with that pronunciation,
- 58:08but that sort of head as well. So he's just got some really
- 58:10unique stuff. So I'll definitely going to Dirk
- 58:13Six on the right hand, but. What I remember from Dirk last
- 58:16year, apart from his awesome stuff, was his his heads rack
- 58:19was about 3 feet tall. It was, yes.
- 58:23It was massive. And he had two didn't, he didn't
- 58:26have one painted one and one unpainted stuff.
- 58:28So, yeah, yeah. Got Blaze here on the right.
- 58:34And then Blaze on the right, yeah, you can stop in the
- 58:35background that their Blaze, he likes taking them against this
- 58:37sort of thing. So I will definitely be visiting
- 58:39Blaze to buy something from him. Just some awesome stuff.
- 58:43I mean that that top right sculpt is just bonkers brain.
- 58:46So I'll be getting one of those allegiance come be it from Blaze
- 58:50or somebody else. I will be buying a painted one
- 58:52of those if people have got them because it's just crazy.
- 58:55But yeah, so Blaze, the picture on the left hand side is Brian
- 58:59CI. Love Brian's stuff because it's
- 59:02just bonkers and bonkers works for me.
- 59:06The top left one here is a mantis shrimp.
- 59:09So if you ever see mantis shrimps, they're like really
- 59:11nasty predators, but they're really ornate thing.
- 59:13And he's gone as vaccine body and I've been eyeing that one up
- 59:16on his eBay so for about two years.
- 59:17And then we put it on the specs and it's like, I can finally buy
- 59:20one. I know how to use it.
- 59:21Yeah, he does some awesome. So the two top ones in the
- 59:24middle there are like this grunge sci-fi sort of things to
- 59:30the helmet, quite alien esque, I guess in terms of that.
- 59:34And there's like a robot head next to it.
- 59:38Then he did this awesome like I think it's likely to be
- 59:41Carpathian or that sort of area night helmet with the long
- 59:45chainmail underneath. That's really cool.
- 59:48And then below he's got the bonkers stuff right, really
- 59:50bonkers stuff. So you've got a skate head on
- 59:53the middle 1. So again, my my underwater
- 59:56faction. Then there's a catfish, the one
- 59:59on the right, which is just I think it's I might be Wells
- 1:00:02catfish. It's just amazing.
- 1:00:04And then just a really weird helmet on the left there.
- 1:00:06So Brian is definitely. Somebody's table, I'll be going
- 1:00:10to pictures on the right of Borderland Horde.
- 1:00:13We weren't too far from us at all, which is a good and bad.
- 1:00:18So there's like a in a pharaoh Egyptian style thing in space on
- 1:00:22the top left there like a Sphinx type head, but a cosmic version
- 1:00:26of that. That's going to be part of my
- 1:00:27Templars of Doom. Then they've got this really
- 1:00:31cool little salamander mage set. So there's the torso, the head,
- 1:00:36and the pauldrons. I'm hoping someone's got painted
- 1:00:38set on a figure there because that might break my don't buy
- 1:00:41any painted custom figures rule. Yeah.
- 1:00:45And then the three on the right hand side, far right, are all
- 1:00:48cybernetic sea creatures. They may be the enemies of the
- 1:00:52of the cephalopods, the hammerhead shark, a swordfish,
- 1:00:56and the shark. The Salamander dude actually
- 1:01:00fits really well with what we were looking at from the
- 1:01:04Warhammer stuff. It does.
- 1:01:05It fits really well within it, Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 1:01:09And it's designed for 2.0 body as well, So it's designed for
- 1:01:11the smaller sort of body. So yeah.
- 1:01:13I think that look at that would be really cool.
- 1:01:15Actually I like the. Shark.
- 1:01:17Yeah, Oh, I like the robot. Because he's my favorite there.
- 1:01:22Might have to try and get one of them.
- 1:01:24Yeah, definitely, definitely right.
- 1:01:27That's your. That was it for the pictures.
- 1:01:29And then very, very tailed. Yeah, very quickly.
- 1:01:32Here's all the other tables at least.
- 1:01:36That's why I said at the start there's people I won't mention
- 1:01:38that I'll buy stuff from. So Noah or I didn't get it from
- 1:01:40Noah last year. Haven't got a couple of things
- 1:01:41from the year before, but I really particularly love his
- 1:01:44like human flesh stones that he does.
- 1:01:46He's I want to try and get. Yeah, yes, I want to try and get
- 1:01:50one of one of his human flesh stone heads.
- 1:01:52Immortal Collections. Carl and Tristan both awesome.
- 1:01:56He's going to be bankrupt because we're with them, aren't
- 1:01:58we? Say yeah.
- 1:02:02But they've always always got a real cool collection of like
- 1:02:04quirky heads and some cool soft goods as well.
- 1:02:08Detour customs, Steph's buyers again, you know, going to watch
- 1:02:11out for flying goblins with his catapults, what he's got.
- 1:02:15And then lastly, art, who's on the far end of he can't be any
- 1:02:19further away from us. I don't think where he is this
- 1:02:20year in the legions combat again, just really dynamic
- 1:02:24displays, constantly changing up his display and some fabulous
- 1:02:26painted pieces. But as I said, the other people
- 1:02:29I will buy from. Yeah, and we're going to, you
- 1:02:34know, do a few episodes in the run up to legions con obviously
- 1:02:36with with people that we want to talk to.
- 1:02:38And of course we won't get to everyone either.
- 1:02:41We're definitely going to do a few people of the people around
- 1:02:44us because we have a kind of a thing going on with this first
- 1:02:48alliance. So if there's anyone in
- 1:02:52particular you'd like us to get on that you maybe don't think
- 1:02:55would be on another show, especially, shout it out to us.
- 1:03:00And of course, we're going to try and pick a few of the ones
- 1:03:03that we want to feature. No, no pressure on me then John
- 1:03:06as the Booker, someone asks me, is a random.
- 1:03:09Person, I mean, if they're not paying us to have them on, you
- 1:03:12know, if it doesn't, if they're not able to make it on or if the
- 1:03:16scheduling doesn't work, that's one thing or another.
- 1:03:18But you know, we, we might, you know, kind of in our ignorance,
- 1:03:22just Passover somebody and then somebody tells us, Oh, no, you
- 1:03:25should definitely speak to them. Well, you know, I'll just be
- 1:03:31having the trauma of like people speaking on their phones and
- 1:03:34with no microphones and that out from my own OCD, you know, I'm
- 1:03:39sure the listener doesn't. While while playing the guitar,
- 1:03:46I'm just like asking, but I can answer all the questions and
- 1:03:48there's like there's one man band things with the symbols go
- 1:03:51in and everything right? Are we on to Kevin Boots then
- 1:03:58we. Are.
- 1:04:00Right, we're ever we're going slower than I thought.
- 1:04:03So we've got to get a move on here without shortchanging the
- 1:04:07questions, of course, or else it'll be another listeners
- 1:04:10questions episode next week. And so Kevin M Boots, he says,
- 1:04:17what are you looking first is a couple of questions here.
- 1:04:19So the first one is what are you looking forward to when you make
- 1:04:22it to the states? So for me, friendly people for
- 1:04:28the most part friendly whether it's real or fake I don't care.
- 1:04:33Friendly is good and English people speaking English speaking
- 1:04:39English without any guilt. Now I know there's other places
- 1:04:42you can do that, but in my situation not.
- 1:04:46Yeah, not common. I have to do so much talking in
- 1:04:49languages that I'm not very good at or that break my brain trying
- 1:04:53to be good at that just relaxing my brain and speaking English to
- 1:04:58everything is very easy. Very much looking forward to
- 1:05:04that's my 2 main things. I hope you cover some some more
- 1:05:08substantive stuff than that boys.
- 1:05:10Well, I'm. Looking forward to going to the
- 1:05:12liquor store with you too and seeing if I can bake.
- 1:05:13Break my time last year, but it takes me to pick beer.
- 1:05:18We just have to go at like lunchtime or something.
- 1:05:24And I'm also looking forward to eating in the pub in the in the
- 1:05:26hotel again, which is really sad, but the food was really
- 1:05:28nice in there. I'm looking.
- 1:05:30Forward to that. It's funny because food is what
- 1:05:32I've said, I've sort of said problem with the location of the
- 1:05:36hotel is one of the things I look forward to about visiting
- 1:05:40the States is trying the food that I can't necessarily get
- 1:05:43over here. So, but of course, because the
- 1:05:47location makes it difficult, so outside and time makes it
- 1:05:53difficult to do some of these things you would do as, oh, I'm
- 1:05:57in the US, this isn't something we can do in the UK.
- 1:06:01So it's kind of, it's seeing the people again, as ever, isn't it?
- 1:06:05And the people, our friends that we've made through the
- 1:06:08community. But yeah, if I can convince
- 1:06:11someone to take me to Panda Express and Jersey Mike's again,
- 1:06:15that would be a win. Jersey Mike's is given Yeah,
- 1:06:19yeah, I didn't mention some of the obvious things, obviously.
- 1:06:21Obviously it's taken for granted.
- 1:06:23The main thing that, yes, hanging out with the people,
- 1:06:27yeah, America specifically, is what I was I.
- 1:06:30Think Yeah, Yeah. Well, that's that's what I sort
- 1:06:32of say about the food. But yeah.
- 1:06:35American hugs have been another one for me.
- 1:06:37Oh yeah, they. Don't seem to have any
- 1:06:38boundaries with regards to hugs, which is both a good and bad
- 1:06:41thing, but mainly good. So I'm looking forward to the
- 1:06:44hoax. I'm looking forward to the hoax,
- 1:06:45yeah. Well, don't go well, you should
- 1:06:46come over here because rich to be kissing and all sorts.
- 1:06:50No boundaries here. You know one of the first job
- 1:06:54like this, not criticism. One of the first jobs I worked
- 1:06:56over years years ago now nearly 20 years ago and there was a
- 1:07:00French guy He came in every morning and was put 20 people in
- 1:07:02the office. He went around to everyone's
- 1:07:03desk and shook their head before he said, you know, we probably
- 1:07:07lost I don't know how many hours a year of work.
- 1:07:12But my first week there, I felt the most welcome person ever
- 1:07:15because this guy who turned out to be like, just the kind of IT
- 1:07:18guy, I thought he was someone important.
- 1:07:21I was shaking my hand every morning.
- 1:07:24IT guys are important. I'll just to clarify that
- 1:07:26statement. From, you know, the deputy
- 1:07:28managing director or something, you know the way he was going
- 1:07:31on. Were important when something
- 1:07:33breaks, I'll tell you that. Otherwise, they're trying to get
- 1:07:36rid of you. I was an IT person as well, so
- 1:07:39you know at that point. So just so you know.
- 1:07:42Whereas I'm a total Luddite. So yeah.
- 1:07:45Yeah, if your IT breaks, don't ask me.
- 1:07:47But you're sitting on the podcast speaking into a
- 1:07:50microphone, looking at a screen, so you're not that bad and.
- 1:07:53I haven't hit the microphone yet this week.
- 1:07:56At one point whole thing came away from the table, but luckily
- 1:07:59I was on mute at that point so that was fine.
- 1:08:01I was able to set that. Before we started recording, but
- 1:08:04I, I, I'm not going. To do that extreme, John, don't.
- 1:08:09Touch them. Wow.
- 1:08:14No, I mean, of course, you know, just to set the, you know, like
- 1:08:18the kid, you know, don't misbehave now when?
- 1:08:21Your granny comes you. Know Granny will be here in 5
- 1:08:24minutes, You know, tuck in your shirt.
- 1:08:30Yeah, microphone whacking out of the way first.
- 1:08:33There we go. So we've covered what we're
- 1:08:36looking forward to in America, Yes.
- 1:08:38Keeps on track. And what I'm not looking forward
- 1:08:41to is that it's the day after the election I'm arriving
- 1:08:46without getting into the the whole thing, it doesn't.
- 1:08:48And in a way the the the result doesn't depend on what that's
- 1:08:52going to be like it I think either result is just going to
- 1:08:55be this, it's going to change a little bit the atmosphere, so.
- 1:09:00Yeah, I think unfortunately. Yeah.
- 1:09:03So anyway, and which unreleased figure are you looking forward
- 1:09:08to most? And so anyone got, what do you
- 1:09:13got for that now? Have you got anything in the
- 1:09:15cosmic? Yeah, I have.
- 1:09:17Of course I have Mythic Dwarf Builder and or Atlas 2.0 and.
- 1:09:23He's got he's got 2 of. Yeah, well, of course it's me.
- 1:09:27It has to donor. He's got a 2 pack and then
- 1:09:31another figure. And cosmic, it's Kern Ray all
- 1:09:38the way. Cannot wait together.
- 1:09:41Ray all the way. Rich, what you got?
- 1:09:45This Pitar in terms of mythics I'm I'm slightly biased as.
- 1:09:49He's been a little circle moment up.
- 1:09:51On the stage with them. But he's such a cool figure.
- 1:09:53I can't wait to get him. Yeah, and and the Cosmics is
- 1:09:57probably going to be is it Korg the Simeon in the space suit
- 1:10:01they revealed recently my favorite cosmic figure without a
- 1:10:05doubt. So I can't wait to get that.
- 1:10:07Brilliant. And so I did have the Dwarf 2
- 1:10:10pack as well. Oh, we we go warm, warm.
- 1:10:14But it, as Mal has already mentioned it, I could, I could
- 1:10:17maybe pick another one. And so let's go for the
- 1:10:21tuberculae because that's something different.
- 1:10:23Yeah, very. And something that's, you know,
- 1:10:27there's going to be other possibilities of the tuberculae.
- 1:10:30And for Cosmic, I went with Anta Phillies, which is the buzz off
- 1:10:35tribute. Yeah, there's lots of them
- 1:10:37there. That whole wave.
- 1:10:39I'm still buzzing off it. Hi Laura, I fun a little bit of
- 1:10:43an underrated 1. No pun intended with the buzzing
- 1:10:46of it. I.
- 1:10:51Missed it? My wallet is sobbing.
- 1:10:54I can hear it. I can hear it in the hall now.
- 1:10:56It is breaking down crying. I saw, I saw it was the wrong
- 1:11:00button and I still just said, oh, that's.
- 1:11:02A little work, little work. Little work.
- 1:11:05Yeah, exactly right. Besides lizard men.
- 1:11:11So you just knew that's what you'd say, Rich.
- 1:11:13So you have to put in a disclaimer.
- 1:11:15But when someone's saying besides Elizabeth, it means you
- 1:11:18need to shut up about them. What kind of race?
- 1:11:22I'm not going to like one of the T-shirt that I get made.
- 1:11:27I'm sure they will. So besides, it's their man.
- 1:11:29What kind of race would you introduce to the lines?
- 1:11:34So I'll go with a proper race of cat people with specific lore
- 1:11:40and everything and different because now I know we do have
- 1:11:43like Balaam and then obviously a few other reuses of that head
- 1:11:48and including Kai Patchett. But just a specific race of cat
- 1:11:52people. It's almost like a little
- 1:11:53Thundercats faction, but not Thundercats within legions, you
- 1:11:58know, so different, you know, like a man Coon type head, you
- 1:12:02know, and maybe a lion, maybe a tiger, maybe cheetah, that kind
- 1:12:06of stuff. Yeah.
- 1:12:07Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:12:11Rich, what you got? Mine would be a webby snake
- 1:12:14faction. No, not snake men, web beasts.
- 1:12:17So obviously, yeah, but like where tigers, you know, where
- 1:12:23all sorts of other stuff. You know any sort of animal that
- 1:12:25you can turn into a big Fang thing, then I'd, I'd love that.
- 1:12:30And would they be wearing armor? Hey.
- 1:12:34Some some wood and some would just be brutes and just naked as
- 1:12:38the day they were turned. Very good.
- 1:12:41Well, did we take your answer Mal or?
- 1:12:43No, I've gone back to my original first.
- 1:12:48Yeah, in if it was comedy, it'd be a callback crustacean people.
- 1:12:53So the fish is again, Yeah, one that I know Richard loves.
- 1:12:57But I think that would be a really cool faction.
- 1:13:00To see do you think? Fish people.
- 1:13:02I think specifically I'd like the kind of more shellfish type
- 1:13:06fish. I think yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:11Like of course. Give me Fishman, I'm down as
- 1:13:14well. You know, different types, like
- 1:13:16we saw the couple of the ones Brian see had there or the
- 1:13:18borderland hordeheads. But yeah, crustaceans are just
- 1:13:23awesome. You know the shell shell dudes.
- 1:13:27Cosmic it's. Robots.
- 1:13:29Again. I know, Rich.
- 1:13:29Oh, that more robots? Yeah.
- 1:13:32You really need more cyborgs. Yeah.
- 1:13:34Yeah, I didn't think of one for cosmic actually, I just I got
- 1:13:38focused, but you can put the cap people in space.
- 1:13:40That's yeah. Aquatic aliens.
- 1:13:43There we go. That's cosmic sorted.
- 1:13:46Or wearing. The best thing about Cosmic is
- 1:13:48you can just you can just put any type in a spacesuit.
- 1:13:51Exactly that, isn't it? Yeah, of course you can do the
- 1:13:54the figures well, but you could just put the, you know, like
- 1:13:57that cog guy you were talking about from the recent one.
- 1:14:00I mean, it's a simian, but it's the space suit with the pair of
- 1:14:04hands. Oh.
- 1:14:08Sorry, had a moment there. Just a, really.
- 1:14:14That sound as we he. Opened the wrong He opened the
- 1:14:18wrong tab on the computer. Didn't he went into the private
- 1:14:23Incognito tabs or whatever there?
- 1:14:26Wouldn't it be cool if the next, I mean it's a little way off, I
- 1:14:29imagine. Now the next MOTU tribute is
- 1:14:32Slush Head. Oh yes, there you go.
- 1:14:37There you go. Oh yeah, they have pretty much
- 1:14:40everything for that except maybe the head.
- 1:14:42But yeah, that can be by the time they maybe have released
- 1:14:47aquatic heads, we we get something that works.
- 1:14:52Oh fantastic, right? We're moving on to Jeremy Govier
- 1:14:57and so last episodes Red Hellions.
- 1:15:02So Jeremy's up to date with us being on Furious 4 Bodies got me
- 1:15:06thinking, what are some of your favorite figures for customs?
- 1:15:12If I'm throwing paint on, it's a Tusk Century or a DLX Goblin,
- 1:15:19and if I'm swapping and popping or popping and swapping, it's
- 1:15:22Novian Lean and Valak. So, well, Rich, you kind of
- 1:15:27answered it last week with your red hellions, but I'm sure you
- 1:15:30have more. Yes, the main one I've done
- 1:15:36randomly is is Templars. So I've got like 20 odd Templars
- 1:15:42despite I've sold quite a few. So that's that's very much a go
- 1:15:46to body for me. You know, I like the idea of
- 1:15:48different races and that sort of thing being Templars.
- 1:15:50It's the Legion builders though. It's the sort of cheaper way to
- 1:15:54do that. And then you can add some paint
- 1:15:56the sentry body for instance. And cosmic is a great one to go
- 1:15:59for. Another one just specifically
- 1:16:02for armor is scaphoid. So yeah, yes, you're going to
- 1:16:05struggle with the green bones, but the purple cloth stuff and
- 1:16:08the the sort of distressed gold armor is brilliant.
- 1:16:11You can do all sorts of things with that.
- 1:16:15Cool. Matt, what you got?
- 1:16:18I've mostly the cloth part Shock horror, I love them.
- 1:16:23They're my favorite part probably Actually one of the
- 1:16:27things I seem to be well, I've done it twice now and which
- 1:16:31makes it the most thing I've done.
- 1:16:33Most is using a mix of the is it the engineer, the female one and
- 1:16:38the goblin body. And it's actually really fun to,
- 1:16:41you know, work out at what to paint what well, you know, what
- 1:16:44you can tweak. It's a it's a fun little scale
- 1:16:48in cosmic. Yeah, that probably.
- 1:16:51Kind of that. It's kind of that OK scale I
- 1:16:54suppose. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:57And I reckon dwarves would probably be the same.
- 1:16:59I just need to get the bravery up to lose a load of hit bits so
- 1:17:04I can swap out the chainmail, yeah?
- 1:17:10Right. For me there's, I mean, there's
- 1:17:12been a few figures now on this build, but Bardrick, I think
- 1:17:16that's a great figure for using for customs, both pop and swap
- 1:17:20and using the parts for customs. So you've got the cloth arms and
- 1:17:26legs, so you can use them for a variety of different types of
- 1:17:29customs. And you've got the chest part
- 1:17:32that is the pop in chest. You've got also just the awesome
- 1:17:36chest part on Bardrick. You could paint that up a
- 1:17:39different way or you can pop it out and you can use maybe a
- 1:17:42third party plug in chest. So that's always useful.
- 1:17:47And and then the cavern dwarf for dwarf.
- 1:17:51It's the most recent kind of legion builder Dwarf we've got
- 1:17:55and it's got so many cool pieces.
- 1:17:57So that's the dwarf build I'd use for repaints, the Sentry and
- 1:18:03cosmic boring, but it really works, you know, or not boring,
- 1:18:08but you know, it's kind of just been said before and it works.
- 1:18:12And naked Tiger is just I've got four or five of them that I want
- 1:18:19to do customs with. I'm thinking of maybe just doing
- 1:18:22different colors on them, which would be just simple repaints.
- 1:18:26But why not? Because it hasn't been done yet
- 1:18:29in the line. I'm sure it will, maybe not the
- 1:18:31colors, I'll do them, but I'm sure they will recolor that body
- 1:18:34for different figures. So that might be fun to do now.
- 1:18:38Well, intrigued. About the naked thigh guard.
- 1:18:40Did you pick him up on legionshub.com?
- 1:18:44I don't know, maybe that was the tab Mallow.
- 1:18:46Yeah, what you say about Barbara, John, in the same way
- 1:18:55of Alec. So very obviously very, very
- 1:18:57similar parts. We got that black base, the cool
- 1:19:00sort of torso. And I think so.
- 1:19:04The time has gone past maybe for these figures now, but Vorthog
- 1:19:07was an absolute top top tier for using for customs or popping
- 1:19:11swaps. I've got a few best.
- 1:19:14And you got 2 sets of feet with him the the bare feet and the
- 1:19:18normal was the first real figure with the chest him and Magnus
- 1:19:22that barrel, the chest and really good weathering on the
- 1:19:26weapons. So you could just use them with
- 1:19:28the with with another figure and and kind of already instantly
- 1:19:33look cool and you got the fur. Isn't he have little fur bits as
- 1:19:37well for tug the little brown fur bits.
- 1:19:41So he's excellent. You could also Zylarian guard
- 1:19:44because you've got the soft goods waist piece and the
- 1:19:50plastic waist piece and it's just a cool build.
- 1:19:53The helmet, I think a couple of places like I know Mark Calvo
- 1:19:57did little inserts for that helmet.
- 1:20:01So you could do that back then, but they're all kind of starting
- 1:20:05to go out of read or like 4th is gone for sure.
- 1:20:09He's higher on secondary and so learning guard probably will be
- 1:20:12at some stage. So yeah, but also cool figures
- 1:20:17do ban, you could say as well is another great one.
- 1:20:21And he comes with a lot of hands do ban.
- 1:20:22I think I think with the Zylonian guard, the color of the
- 1:20:25leather boots and gloves is really cool on that as well.
- 1:20:30Yeah, for sure. I mean, back in the day the
- 1:20:34goblin Legion builder was was a good one for loads of stuff.
- 1:20:40But I don't know, I don't like painting it.
- 1:20:43It's too small and I'm not as much into goblins.
- 1:20:47I like the the figures we get from goblins.
- 1:20:52I think for the customs, I don't know whether it's me.
- 1:20:55I'm just out of ideas at the moment for goblin customs other
- 1:21:00than, you know, paint and give me a three third party goblin
- 1:21:03head. You know the with the cool
- 1:21:05sculpt that's awesome to paint. I wonder if with the Goblin
- 1:21:10builder pack, perhaps a few more options there might help a bit
- 1:21:13with. That I think it is very limited.
- 1:21:16Yeah, I think that's a good refresh for us.
- 1:21:19Right. We move on to Markel's.
- 1:21:21Todd. Hey lads, which are your top
- 1:21:26third parties for weapons? So Rich, seen as you're the
- 1:21:32you're the expert on all the third party shops.
- 1:21:35Guess what? When?
- 1:21:36Give us a few. But also leave or should or
- 1:21:38should we say first and then you you go first as.
- 1:21:40Weapons. Randomly weapons.
- 1:21:42The one thing I didn't tend to buy that many of OK third party,
- 1:21:45so I'm not an expert on this one.
- 1:21:48So I've got a few miles, so if you want to go first.
- 1:21:50Shall I go first because I've barely got anything because I
- 1:21:52actually sorry as I say this, but I one, I'm rubbish at
- 1:21:58thinking about weapons when I'm ordering stuff, but two, I don't
- 1:22:02feel like there are that many really cool weapons out there.
- 1:22:05The one that I actually really like and I bought a couple and
- 1:22:08I've recently painted them it Brian see because he does cosmic
- 1:22:11weapons and really cool cosmic weapons and I will be going by
- 1:22:16his booth to pick up any cosmic bits I'm.
- 1:22:18Sure, there'll be more and more as we come.
- 1:22:22So that's the main one that Wolf King does.
- 1:22:24A few quite cool ones, I think. Yeah.
- 1:22:27And that's about it for me. And so I had toy forge.
- 1:22:32Antony does great weapons, especially for dwarfs.
- 1:22:36Lots of different types of weapons that you might have
- 1:22:38gotten the line, especially, you know, before the builder, the
- 1:22:44two pack and different types of, you know, different size
- 1:22:47Shields, different size axes, stuff like that knives.
- 1:22:52He also has a lot of cool axes and he also has some cosmic
- 1:22:59weapons Anthony, that he's done in some of these customs.
- 1:23:05I think they've more come out this year.
- 1:23:08So maybe we have regions gone, we'll probably.
- 1:23:12Grab them. Pick them up.
- 1:23:14Yeah, and planetary dog toys always had good weapons, said
- 1:23:19Those. You know, he did a lot of
- 1:23:23bombastic big weapons. You know, that was my couple of
- 1:23:27cool smaller ones. That is my problem with that.
- 1:23:29They they look great, but they're not got them.
- 1:23:32And they were like, oh, they're a bit bigger than I want them to
- 1:23:34be, really. But I mean, yeah, obviously do
- 1:23:37that like that, but yeah. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:23:39And and obviously the planetary dog Shields, you know, the
- 1:23:43wooden Shields with the plates on them, the different logos and
- 1:23:47designs, they're amazing. And yeah, they got like. 20 odd
- 1:23:51I think and they have those different.
- 1:23:52And the ones with this, the ram skull head and the chains.
- 1:23:57Love the anchor one. He's incredible.
- 1:23:59Yeah, yeah, yeah. But expensive for third parties.
- 1:24:05Like I know Eugene is doing a load of them again for agents
- 1:24:10come but that's he does it said that has a deal on if you buy
- 1:24:13loads. So if you buy 20 or 30, you get
- 1:24:16them for a good price, but if you're buying like 5 or 10, it's
- 1:24:20it's expensive to turn any sort of money on that.
- 1:24:23You wouldn't be able to sell them for what you buy them for.
- 1:24:25Paint it, you know, athletes can.
- 1:24:27So that's why I didn't get any more because I didn't want to do
- 1:24:3130 or 40, you know, and glad that Eugene is looking after
- 1:24:35that part of the market. If they're if it's there,
- 1:24:38hopefully. And the I did also say Wolf
- 1:24:41King, they do have a good variety and definitely we're
- 1:24:44checking out and you'll find something you're looking for
- 1:24:47there. And Uncle Jim's workshop was my
- 1:24:49last one. Forgot my Uncle Jim.
- 1:24:51Yeah, Uncle Jim's workshop is amazing.
- 1:24:53Brilliant stuff, loads of difference.
- 1:24:56Again, some of them might be a bit oversized for you man, but
- 1:25:00others aren't. And he has the ones with the
- 1:25:02flame effect as well. I have a bunch of them that I
- 1:25:05need to finish actually, because I did one for a friend and I
- 1:25:10bought a bunch because I didn't want to ship just one sword from
- 1:25:15China. So I bought a bunch of them and
- 1:25:18I did prime them all up, but I haven't actually finished any of
- 1:25:21the rest of them. So that's something on the pile.
- 1:25:23Religions gone. Yeah, and if anyone's listening
- 1:25:27who's not a painter, that Uncle Jim sells everything they have,
- 1:25:30they sell painted as well and they it's really good value.
- 1:25:34They'll like charge you like 8-9 dollars to do an amazing paint
- 1:25:37job on a really quite intricate sword or shield or whatever sort
- 1:25:41of thing. So welcome.
- 1:25:42To come see me at Legions Con 1st and then oh.
- 1:25:45Absolutely, John, only legions con You still want something, go
- 1:25:49to Uncle Jim. No, I mean you Uncle Jim is
- 1:25:52you're right. John is great one Plantry dog
- 1:25:54toys was the other one I'd mentioned and the best one.
- 1:25:56Unfortunately, you can't get them from anymore.
- 1:25:58That was my actually customs. They had so many weapons, so
- 1:26:02many, but obviously, you know, that's gone now.
- 1:26:06I wouldn't be surprised if a few more things come back that are
- 1:26:09probably legions compatible. Whilst not aimed at legions
- 1:26:12there, yeah. Yeah, righty ho.
- 1:26:18Next question. Two questions from Ken Poole
- 1:26:22collects, who always puts a hello there on our YouTube every
- 1:26:26week. And I always read it in the Ewan
- 1:26:31McGregor Obi Wan voice. They assume that's what I go
- 1:26:34for. Hello there.
- 1:26:36Yeah, there you go. I read it in your voicemail.
- 1:26:39Sorry. And so his first question is,
- 1:26:44hello there. How would you react to a new
- 1:26:47show on YouTube called Real American Legions?
- 1:26:51And yeah, you go. I've said I think Hulk Hogan
- 1:26:55probably isn't the best spokesman for Legions.
- 1:27:02Is this is this like the like the Real Housewives of like
- 1:27:05Hollywood or something like that?
- 1:27:06So there's like camera crew following around legions,
- 1:27:09collectors going like. Yes.
- 1:27:12Or it's maybe it's about the GI Joe.
- 1:27:14Yeah, Legions. Probably is, isn't it?
- 1:27:18I I went real American because that was Hulk Hogan's theme.
- 1:27:21Tune. But I think what he's meaning
- 1:27:23is, you know, we're euro legions.
- 1:27:25Yeah, yeah, but there's loads of real American legions shows
- 1:27:28that's my answer. There is loads of YouTube
- 1:27:31American allegiance shows with some wonderful American people.
- 1:27:36So yeah, we will take some real absolutely.
- 1:27:40Yeah. We're not chasing the likes on
- 1:27:44YouTube, although we're almost at 200, so subscribe to YouTube.
- 1:27:50Exactly. If you're watching this, like
- 1:27:51and subscribe everybody. Yeah.
- 1:27:53And comment, you know, like, comment and subscribe.
- 1:27:56Yeah, exactly. Smash that like.
- 1:28:03We, we, I regularly get these emails now in the Euronesians
- 1:28:07mailbox from these guys trying to sell the key to the algorithm
- 1:28:11on YouTube because their videos aren't optimized.
- 1:28:15And I got mad. I replied to the last guy and I
- 1:28:17go, look, we're not it's a niche topic.
- 1:28:22We can't, we can't play the algorithm game with this topic.
- 1:28:26You know, it's there because if people want to watch the video,
- 1:28:29that's a great platform to host it.
- 1:28:31And if some new people find it from there, brilliant.
- 1:28:34But we can't chase the algorithm on YouTube doesn't work for for
- 1:28:38such a niche subject. And and then he says, hello
- 1:28:44there. What would a Eurolegions 3 pack
- 1:28:46figure from the Four Horsemen look like?
- 1:28:50And I hate this question. I've said yeah, well, my answer
- 1:28:54is invisible translucent, a translucent.
- 1:28:58Dwarf. You know, we did AT shirt this
- 1:29:03year with kind of with with the OK from the horsemen because
- 1:29:08some of the characters look a bit like legions and not like an
- 1:29:12official OK like Gerber has his lunch box.
- 1:29:14But we don't mind if you do that.
- 1:29:16Yeah, so, you know, you get the general idea, but no, I
- 1:29:21wouldn't. I would say more than anything I
- 1:29:24would cringe and feel like I don't deserve it.
- 1:29:28So I'm probably happy to to truck along like this.
- 1:29:32It's worth making it just to see the look of anguish on your
- 1:29:34face, John. I would love them to do it just
- 1:29:38to see how big your head will get rich.
- 1:29:44It may struggle to get through the doors into legions.
- 1:29:48But more so, like at home, you know, as your wife and daughter
- 1:29:52just still think you're an idiot and you're going around going,
- 1:29:56I've got an election figure named after me or, you know,
- 1:29:58whatever. And have 53 different colour
- 1:30:01T-shirts all saying look here's a picture of the action figure
- 1:30:03made after me sort of thing. And you can tell us the tales of
- 1:30:06when you're in the office and to telling people and they just
- 1:30:10have different excuses to try and get away from you, right?
- 1:30:19That's our answer to that, I suppose.
- 1:30:21Ron Twining, which gave us the weirdest question.
- 1:30:26Why doesn't Ronald Twining have a custom Spider Man 2099 yet?
- 1:30:31I've put because he didn't ask for one, you know Santa or from
- 1:30:36us or. I've got the answer to every
- 1:30:38question is because he hangs around with reprobates.
- 1:30:49He's out, been in the Viking in the forest too much.
- 1:30:51I've got time to. Pick up.
- 1:30:52I mean it is a cool spider man suit for sure, but I can't see I
- 1:31:00I've never been inspired with legions to do a spider man
- 1:31:03custom. Because it's not.
- 1:31:04The aesthetic isn't really there in terms.
- 1:31:08Where we need the superhero line.
- 1:31:10Yeah, there you go. You know right is Ramirez.
- 1:31:18These are more for the first one or two maybe for for you rich.
- 1:31:22So pay attention here when we get to see the redemption arc
- 1:31:27for the Quetzalcoatl from the Helian faction, when will we get
- 1:31:33to see it? He definitely looks like a
- 1:31:35badass as a red hellion, but eventually this God of knowledge
- 1:31:39and light will trend towards the good or at least neutral
- 1:31:42territory where he is neither good or evil.
- 1:31:48Sorry is but so Coatl in my universe is a proper bad guy and
- 1:31:54we'll stay so so sorry dude. Yeah, and that's the that's the
- 1:31:58master of the red hellion law. So what can you do?
- 1:32:01We've just lost the list. Oh well.
- 1:32:07As long as you drive us to Jersey Mike's, we're good.
- 1:32:12Anyone. Or oh, no, no, he we walked with
- 1:32:15Jersey. He doesn't have a car there.
- 1:32:16No, we need. We went to, we walked to Jersey
- 1:32:19Mike's. We need, we need the we need
- 1:32:21Noah for the car and the truck. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:32:26He, he he mightn't bring us this year because you're pretty
- 1:32:29afraid you're going to steal it. Rich I.
- 1:32:32Mean there's a decent chance. I'm not going to lie, I was very
- 1:32:34taken with that truck. Being a rather tall person as
- 1:32:38well, it kind of it's perfect for you, you know, It's just too
- 1:32:41big. I looked.
- 1:32:42Like I said, to put a doll next to a car when I had a picture
- 1:32:45taken next to it. I think I think now he's with
- 1:32:48his new found title of enabler, it's only right that he enables
- 1:32:52us to get food from Jersey. Or I want Kentucky Fried Chicken
- 1:32:58from Kentucky. Let's go.
- 1:33:04Right. Anyway.
- 1:33:05If in the miracle that we sold out our table by day one of
- 1:33:08legions gone, just go right, Let's go Kentucky Fried Chicken
- 1:33:12and Kentucky. And then when are we going to
- 1:33:17see the Maze Tech faction? We can't wait for that one.
- 1:33:20Are you going to disappoint him again here?
- 1:33:23Possibly. I've written.
- 1:33:25I know, I know, I've been talking about it for a long,
- 1:33:27long while. I've got the various pieces, I
- 1:33:29just haven't put them together yet.
- 1:33:32OK, so the intention is there. The intention is absolutely
- 1:33:35there. I've got some amazing painted
- 1:33:37pieces from Nikki. I've got the bodies to go with
- 1:33:40them. I've got some of the BIOS
- 1:33:42written. It's just in case I get my
- 1:33:44backsliding gear and actually put.
- 1:33:45Them on thick hose. Could you briefly explain maze
- 1:33:49tech and what that's referring to?
- 1:33:51Yes. So it's it's my sort of again,
- 1:33:55apologies if I get this wrong terminology, but the
- 1:33:57Mesoamerican sort of faction. So it's it's combining the name
- 1:34:00is combination of the minds and the Aztecs.
- 1:34:02So maze texts and there's just some really cool third party
- 1:34:06prints out there, like quits of quotel of just like those
- 1:34:10traditional sorts of outfits sort of thing.
- 1:34:12So I've got like an undead 1 Jaguar warrior capitalism men.
- 1:34:18You'd be surprised to hear some some conquistador style bad guys
- 1:34:25to go with them. So all the components are there.
- 1:34:27I just need to put it together, take some blood crafts and get
- 1:34:30out. Excellent and then the last one
- 1:34:34with with AI am trying to be smart word.
- 1:34:38What are your favorite ungulates and why are they sheep?
- 1:34:42So I've put in here an ungulate is a hooved animal.
- 1:34:46So so that's that's why he's trying to catch us, take us out.
- 1:34:52It is. It is.
- 1:34:52Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:34:53For being Welch and they like. Being Welsh, yeah, they like to.
- 1:34:56We do like our sheep. Sheep.
- 1:34:57Not like that, but we do like our sheep.
- 1:35:00Richard Alpacas. I love alpacas.
- 1:35:04I think they're cute and they're cool Hacker and they're not as
- 1:35:07easy and they're not as they're not as big a nose as a llama.
- 1:35:12Llama is just a you know. There's like to bite you as 50
- 1:35:16years a lot Murrays as well, so. He's a nose.
- 1:35:18Yeah, so alpaca. Although they have a cute llama.
- 1:35:21The alpacas hog in the limelight now because you've got guanacos
- 1:35:23and minor kuna. Is it minor kuna?
- 1:35:26The kunas in the same family and you never see that so.
- 1:35:29OK, no, you're talking more ungulates stuff that I don't
- 1:35:32know what you got, what you got. Favorite hooved animals are rich
- 1:35:38as sheep now. No, mine's a tape it just to
- 1:35:41clarify that. Oh, that's a worm.
- 1:35:45It's not a worm, that's a tapeworm.
- 1:35:48Oh, sorry, tape is the. Big, big animals with the long
- 1:35:51noses. OK, my horse.
- 1:35:54No. Not really.
- 1:35:56Hoofed animals don't generally do it for me.
- 1:35:59I don't in any way. Didn't need to be said.
- 1:36:06Wow, yeah. Right, moving down the shotty
- 1:36:10furry. I always slag off Maverick
- 1:36:17salvaging for when they ask for questions and my wife's going to
- 1:36:20kill me. He gives 10.
- 1:36:22So he did on purposely use his restraint and asked us just
- 1:36:28three and I would have taken 10 because when it's for our show I
- 1:36:31don't care. You know, the more the merrier.
- 1:36:36So Maverick asks if he got to add slash, remove slash, modify
- 1:36:40something about Legion Scon. So he's trying to get us into
- 1:36:44trouble here. What would it be?
- 1:36:46No judgement. I've got one thing for this and
- 1:36:50it's not a, it's not a massive thing because actually it's the
- 1:36:53hotel. Again, it's that location of
- 1:36:55that hotel that's the big thing for me.
- 1:36:59I really like the hotel though. It's a really nice hotel.
- 1:37:03So I need that hotel, but somewhere that's nearer to stuff
- 1:37:06so we could walk up to stuff. Yeah.
- 1:37:08And that's it. That's all I can think of.
- 1:37:10I don't even mind the distance it is from stuff, it's just that
- 1:37:13it's really difficult to walk anywhere from it because you're
- 1:37:16pretty much out onto a Main Street.
- 1:37:18Yeah, I think we know enough people with cars for the weekend
- 1:37:23that we could get. But yeah, you're always.
- 1:37:26Been kind of at that point, yeah.
- 1:37:28Yeah. Or just, you know, you don't
- 1:37:29want to be annoying people, you know, that's for sure.
- 1:37:32I did have one, which it kind of goes into your point a bit
- 1:37:36earlier. And now I know this wouldn't be
- 1:37:38possible because of the hotel. Wouldn't want it for sure, but
- 1:37:41food trucks in the car park would be cool.
- 1:37:43Yeah, yes, that. You know, with different types
- 1:37:47of and like, oh, obviously kind of good ones.
- 1:37:49You know, if you're going to have AI don't know a burger food
- 1:37:52truck, then make it an awesome burger.
- 1:37:54If you're going to have, you know, Mexican food, food truck
- 1:37:56make it awesome. But the food in the as Rich
- 1:38:00said, the food in the bar is great, but this would just give
- 1:38:02it a bit more variety of stuff and and a bit more, you know,
- 1:38:07had grabbing the snack in the middle of the day, although they
- 1:38:09did have nice sandwiches and stuff.
- 1:38:10There's I'm not I'm not going hungry.
- 1:38:13Don't get me wrong. No, no, it's more just a kind
- 1:38:15of, you know, we like food. I completely we do.
- 1:38:18You can tell by looking at us all, can you, that I will say,
- 1:38:23yeah, the the food in that pub is really, really good.
- 1:38:26It's just a look at the menu. And of course, because it's
- 1:38:29Irish themed, you're looking at it going, they're trying to do
- 1:38:32versions of what I could get at home and and you're like, I kind
- 1:38:37of, I'm in another country, even if it's a very similar country,
- 1:38:41I'd like some of the stuff I can't have at home.
- 1:38:44Yeah. Rich.
- 1:38:49Yeah, so I had food trucks like you, John, but totally.
- 1:38:51Oh, he did. Wow, great minds.
- 1:38:54I'd had a third day. It's allegiance con if I'm being
- 1:38:56really greedy, yeah. We've got so much about a four
- 1:38:59day legions con this year and they.
- 1:39:01Actually the con itself rather than G con and.
- 1:39:04I just think it would. Intern that sort of the.
- 1:39:06Last day, then it would do something to the other days if
- 1:39:09there was a third maybe. It would give me more time to
- 1:39:11buy stuff though. Need any more?
- 1:39:15Do you? No, I don't really don't know
- 1:39:17how much. And then 5000 lbs.
- 1:39:20It was about 10 pence I think last time.
- 1:39:22I don't know. I definitely didn't have you to
- 1:39:26look planning an intervention every time I was like, what?
- 1:39:31And then the coming back with stocking like bubble wrap, you
- 1:39:34know, two hands full of bubble wrap every time you left the
- 1:39:37table coming back and say, oh, you're packing stuff.
- 1:39:39No, there's stuff in here. And bigger tables, and that's
- 1:39:45probably just because we share a table, but bigger tables the.
- 1:39:49Way we're set up this year might hopefully stop that right
- 1:39:57opinion on each faction having a unique mount.
- 1:40:01So I just said that I absolutely love that whole idea and that it
- 1:40:07would be unique. So we've got horses obviously in
- 1:40:09some of the factions. Mal, have you gone any further
- 1:40:13than that? No, literally has gone further.
- 1:40:16Yeah, yeah. We'll leave it to Rich, but I
- 1:40:18think it'd be a great idea. We've got a bear, obviously now.
- 1:40:21And I mean, there's. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:40:23Great idea, Rich. Outstanding idea.
- 1:40:28Math. I don't know if these are in the
- 1:40:30order you've. It's right any.
- 1:40:32Order. So for the Lithia, I'd want some
- 1:40:37really big heavy armoured lizard.
- 1:40:38Obviously because it's lizard, but something that's the skin so
- 1:40:41thick that vampires can't bite through them, but they've
- 1:40:44trained them to ride them. So there's a couple of Warhammer
- 1:40:47examples. For instance, on the left,
- 1:40:50claws, teeth, heavy armor, that'd be great.
- 1:40:53On the right hand side, the army of Elizabeth Lee, Odysseus with
- 1:40:56a manticore. So you got your lion with wings
- 1:41:00and a scorpion's tail. I mean, that would be just be a
- 1:41:02badass thing. Imagine load of red Shields
- 1:41:05flying down into battle on those.
- 1:41:06That would be that'd be great. Cool, right?
- 1:41:11Next we have. A Griffin for the order of
- 1:41:14Etheron. It's an obvious one, but again,
- 1:41:17I think that would be a really cool.
- 1:41:18I don't. Know I like a Griffin.
- 1:41:21I just said that because the ether on thing.
- 1:41:25Yeah, of. Course, on the right of the
- 1:41:26screen is a skeletal scorpion, and that would be for the
- 1:41:29congregation of Necronominus A. Score Giant would be awesome.
- 1:41:33Yeah, it's like these giant, you know, Jason, the Argonauts,
- 1:41:36like. Things.
- 1:41:37I mean, there could be a little bit of cost, but you know, yeah.
- 1:41:41So that would be absolutely awesome if you take us on John.
- 1:41:46Yep, we got. So a a giant centipede for the
- 1:41:51circle Epoxis with loads of like posh, posh jewels and that sort
- 1:41:55of thing coming off it. So it's like you almost look
- 1:41:57it's rotting, but with a cool saddle on it for them to ride
- 1:42:00into battle. I would very much like that.
- 1:42:04And then the one on the right and this this is an actual
- 1:42:06character from something. I remember what it is, but it's
- 1:42:09it's like a demon mount type thing for the Legion of Arathe.
- 1:42:15So again, sort of like, you know.
- 1:42:17Looks a bit like a displacer beast, but less Jack.
- 1:42:20Yeah, it's it's it's definitely linked to something, but it's
- 1:42:24got like, it's got almost like dreads, like the the hunter dog
- 1:42:28things from the Predators film. But then it's got like the 10
- 1:42:33rules coming out when they open bits like that and just huge
- 1:42:36horns and who, you know, that sort of thing, so.
- 1:42:40That. For the Legion of Aritha, the
- 1:42:43other ones are a bit more boring.
- 1:42:44So as I loner it would be a stag.
- 1:42:46I know we've got a moose, but a really cool stag would be would
- 1:42:48be awesome for that house the noble bear.
- 1:42:53We were woolly mammoth. If we're going to have something
- 1:42:55for the house, the noble bear. Happy.
- 1:42:57Can you imagine? I mean, that huge, Yeah.
- 1:42:59Or maybe woolly rhino. If you don't do if you don't do
- 1:43:01a mammoth because it's too big, maybe woolly rhino.
- 1:43:04That'd be cool. Might be a way to go.
- 1:43:05Yeah. Suns, the Red Star would be a
- 1:43:08large eagle to whisk them away after an assassination and hop
- 1:43:11on the back of that and off they go.
- 1:43:13How? About a giant vulture.
- 1:43:16Oh, yes, yeah, yeah, that's better mouth.
- 1:43:19That would be good. I think that's everything.
- 1:43:21Yeah, I think that's all of them.
- 1:43:23Oh, no. Basilia.
- 1:43:24Basilia would be a giant snake. Don't.
- 1:43:25Forget my faction. Of course it would, yeah.
- 1:43:27Yes, that'd be very cool. Right.
- 1:43:31Then Maverick says besides money, what is the biggest
- 1:43:35hurdle stopping someone doing a Euro allegiance con if there
- 1:43:38seems to be a good number of European centric mythic cosmic
- 1:43:41collectors? Is it limited spaces, distance
- 1:43:44between cities, countries, timeframe, etcetera?
- 1:43:48I think it's a, it's all of that lack of interest in attendees.
- 1:43:51I think one, because the draw would be the horseman like so if
- 1:43:56the likes of us were to organize one that would be like who were
- 1:43:59those guys? You know, even though they know
- 1:44:01who we are. But like, you know, if we were
- 1:44:03to be at a show, we should be just part of it, not the main
- 1:44:06event for sure. I think there is like countries,
- 1:44:11you know, although we're kind of geographically close compared to
- 1:44:15say some. States from country to country.
- 1:44:18Yeah, it's more difficult to get around here.
- 1:44:23Yeah, people are. I don't know if people are as
- 1:44:26into it when you think of it like, so you get a couple of
- 1:44:30100, however many you get allegiance gone.
- 1:44:33It's probably a very small amount of the whole community
- 1:44:39and the community is much smaller over here.
- 1:44:41So very small amount of the community starts to be like 5 to
- 1:44:4510 to 20 people. I think realistically that would
- 1:44:49go, yeah, that first year you'd have to have a very small event,
- 1:44:54yeah, with not a lot there. It's more of a meeting, a meet
- 1:44:58up and then how are you even going to get people interested,
- 1:45:03what to make, Because it would be quite a chunk of money.
- 1:45:06Even travelling within the UK or an evening or a day, you know,
- 1:45:12it's going to be a lot of time and money, but not as much as
- 1:45:17we're spending to go to legions com.
- 1:45:21But comparatively for what they would be going to.
- 1:45:25And I think that's the that's the bit.
- 1:45:26It's the getting it off the ground with a smaller event
- 1:45:31because it's it's hard. Yeah, I think.
- 1:45:34You'd have to grow them. You'd have to grow the market.
- 1:45:37I mean, you'd need like a street team event or something.
- 1:45:39One of the big UK comic cons where people who never who've
- 1:45:42never seen Legions figures was like, oh, what the hell are
- 1:45:45they? That's amazing.
- 1:45:45But again, that's not going to happen because of all the stock.
- 1:45:48You know, people, you still won't see the horseman, you
- 1:45:51still won't meet some of the big people in the community.
- 1:45:53You know, you just meet some of the more local people and you
- 1:45:57know, we you'd spend more going to legions Con, but you get to
- 1:46:02see everything and everybody and in the end it'll be more worth
- 1:46:05it. So I'd say it's probably more
- 1:46:08likely here to be the likes of like, say the three of us.
- 1:46:10We'd visit each other or something or you know, and if we
- 1:46:13happen to incorporate one or two more people into that, it would
- 1:46:16be more something like that. Yeah, that was the other thing.
- 1:46:20Even if you had like a small event.
- 1:46:26Yeah, What? What what are you going to draw
- 1:46:29people to that with? Because you know who's getting
- 1:46:32stock from the horseman to sell like they do with the street
- 1:46:36teams It's going to be, it's so hard to organize.
- 1:46:39No, you'd have to use a retailer I suppose.
- 1:46:42Yeah. And getting them interested in
- 1:46:45that maybe Mighty Underground or something like that might
- 1:46:47because they're more yeah in the community, but even it's quite a
- 1:46:51big thing for them. But a lot of them are online
- 1:46:54retailers, so they don't have, you know, that set up space even
- 1:46:58for a street team. So they mightn't even have the
- 1:47:01possibility to have a credit card machine, you know, which
- 1:47:06is, it seems like a simple thing, but yeah.
- 1:47:10But yeah. So we've tried to maybe put
- 1:47:13failures out, never arranged anything formally in the last
- 1:47:16years. But it's been like what?
- 1:47:19Like if you look at the groups over the UK group, it's mostly a
- 1:47:22buying and selling type of thing or people trying to figure out
- 1:47:28how to use Aliexpress, you know, and in the European one.
- 1:47:33Is it worth buying from the Horsemen's?
- 1:47:34The other question. Yeah, In the European one, it's,
- 1:47:40yeah, it's some people kind of sharing their photography.
- 1:47:44It's a bit of buying and selling and maybe sharing some other
- 1:47:49stuff from around the community, but it isn't, there isn't a huge
- 1:47:53amount of engagement. Some of that might be language
- 1:47:56barrier some, but might be just people not, you know, using
- 1:48:01Facebook as much over here. I don't know there could be an
- 1:48:04element to that. Yeah.
- 1:48:06For. Sure.
- 1:48:06The language barrier is absolutely something to be
- 1:48:08conscious of. Even if people want to meet up,
- 1:48:11You know, if someone's English is really bad and you know,
- 1:48:14everything other than English is bad for me, then that makes it
- 1:48:17really quite difficult to travel over to say, Germany or
- 1:48:19somewhere. And then, you know, you don't
- 1:48:21speak German. So they're like, how do you, you
- 1:48:24know, how do you engage? Where I live, for example, OK,
- 1:48:27it's a bit of a unique country, but like if I don't know the
- 1:48:29person, I don't know what language they speak.
- 1:48:32It's not, it's not obvious, like I know the people in my village,
- 1:48:35but if I go to the next village and see someone, if I start in
- 1:48:39the language, it might not be any of the languages they speak.
- 1:48:43That's just kind of what Europe is like a little bit, you know.
- 1:48:48Now, usually English can be OK, but then if they're not great at
- 1:48:51English, it's just, it's just a weird balance of the
- 1:48:54conversation, you know, it's not, yeah, it, it doesn't work,
- 1:49:01you know, So anyway, but yeah, it's, it's just the thing, you
- 1:49:06know, I think there are in, in general, I think you've said it
- 1:49:09before now there are less kind of Comic Con events here, you
- 1:49:14know, And if they are, they're just really big ones, you know,
- 1:49:17like UK come back on or Warhammer, I mean there.
- 1:49:20Are there are a lot of smaller ones in the UK, but you're not
- 1:49:24going to get any people spending easily 100 plus pounds to spend
- 1:49:30an evening or a day at one of them just to do a mythic thing
- 1:49:33at the end of it, you know? Yeah.
- 1:49:36Yeah, there's one, there's one big kind of comic convention
- 1:49:39here and it's in a, it's in a town, like they take over the
- 1:49:42whole town every July. But it's mostly comic.
- 1:49:45There is like lots of figures and stuff like that and, you
- 1:49:49know, arts and crafts and, but it's mostly a comic thing.
- 1:49:53And then most of the comics are in French, so you know, I've
- 1:49:58been to it once or twice, but it's not that interesting, let's
- 1:50:02say. And also the stuff is then the
- 1:50:04figures are a way overpriced. If you if you're in the know,
- 1:50:08you know. So yeah, perhaps the other issue
- 1:50:12is the cost of yeah, because over here compared to the US.
- 1:50:18In a way, yeah. Or at least the the selection,
- 1:50:21yeah. Yeah.
- 1:50:24Right. I was going to say, let's try
- 1:50:28and kind of pick it up a bit in the mood here, but what do you
- 1:50:33predict from Tom Holes? What do you predict will happen
- 1:50:36at the end of the Mythic Legions line?
- 1:50:39It'll never end. For example, will it continue in
- 1:50:43some form? Will the value of the figures
- 1:50:45increase or decrease? Will there be another line with
- 1:50:47compatible parts other than the other two figure beers here?
- 1:50:51Cosmic? What are we to do with the
- 1:50:55endless trace of little straps? Plastic boulders.
- 1:51:00Same thing. Problem from the people.
- 1:51:02On eBay from my kids, I've said I suspect it'll stop if the
- 1:51:10horsemen decide they don't want to do it or it just isn't
- 1:51:12financially stable anymore and it won't carry on.
- 1:51:16If that's the case, that'll be it.
- 1:51:18It'll just fritter away like a lot of lines do, but I hope it
- 1:51:23goes on for years and years and years and years.
- 1:51:25Yeah, I. Think we've got yeah, yeah,
- 1:51:29we've got years, at least five years left.
- 1:51:31Yeah. Oh yeah, at least.
- 1:51:34That yeah, I think that it will continue anyway in some form
- 1:51:40because the customizing community is now so big that
- 1:51:43like, you know, if the horseman just decided to to stop, someone
- 1:51:48would take on the the IP and the, you know, the build system,
- 1:51:54you know, make the connections just out of the community
- 1:51:57almost, you know. I must.
- 1:51:59I'm not even from that perspective, I actually think.
- 1:52:03But we'd have to ask them and they might not want to share
- 1:52:06this information. I don't know why, but it might
- 1:52:08be something they don't want to be too.
- 1:52:09I do feel like part of what they're trying to build at the
- 1:52:12studio is continuity. Yeah.
- 1:52:16And bringing younger people in. No offence to them that will be
- 1:52:20able to continue it as they go because if you notice they're
- 1:52:23bringing in interns and trying to get younger people into the
- 1:52:26studio and interested. Diego is a good example.
- 1:52:30I assume he's a bit fair bit younger than us but but they've
- 1:52:34had other interns that are a lot younger aren't they?
- 1:52:38Yeah, for sure. And even, you know, people don't
- 1:52:43retire in the States, as far as I can see in these type of
- 1:52:47interest industries. If you know, if they love their
- 1:52:50job, they don't tend to retire. Obviously, if you know, you're
- 1:52:55maybe a civil servant and you've done your X amount of years to
- 1:52:58get your pension and then you can go off and do something you
- 1:53:00want. But you know, if you, if you are
- 1:53:04in a job like this that you might wind down your hours or
- 1:53:07that, you know, but you like, I think, for example, Eric
- 1:53:09Treadway, I think he'd always be involved in it one way or
- 1:53:13another. And as long as Eric is involved
- 1:53:15in it, I think it will continue in one some shape or form.
- 1:53:20And of course, they own the company, so yeah, unless they
- 1:53:25sell it to someone else, right? On the home straight now to left
- 1:53:32Trevor Williams in maybe some sort of a hint question, maybe
- 1:53:35not. What are your thoughts?
- 1:53:38Slash predictions for upcoming figure obscure releases.
- 1:53:43There is a plural there and I think personally the next one
- 1:53:49will be the Jersey Devil. I just think it's the time to do
- 1:53:52it and I think that they might just do it this weekend, maybe
- 1:53:59kind of put me. I'm with you.
- 1:54:02I have a sneak and I think Kevin and Boots posted his sort of
- 1:54:05brain just going on that you thought we might hear something
- 1:54:09this weekend and I'm I'm I yeah, Feels like a good weekend for
- 1:54:12it. I've got no idea what they'll do
- 1:54:15though. Yeah, I know what I think
- 1:54:17they're. Heavy gunner until October, so.
- 1:54:20That's that's what's no one. Is it too early for a Halloween
- 1:54:25one? That's the question I guess,
- 1:54:26isn't it? Or unless the heavy gunner
- 1:54:29shipment was on a delayed shipment with the figure obscure
- 1:54:32figure that we might get and then then it might be both.
- 1:54:38So who knows? That could also be, but yeah, I
- 1:54:42think the Jersey Devil, we, we had a recent episode with a lot
- 1:54:45of other predictions that we thought, but I think that one, I
- 1:54:49think in terms of the Christmas that release, I think we get
- 1:54:54another Christmas Carol. Yes.
- 1:54:56Character and we might get another Monkey King character
- 1:55:01coming. Yeah, I think it'll.
- 1:55:05Be the next 1 then. Yeah, I'm like, my first guest
- 1:55:09was Pixie and the Monkey King, but then we are so close to
- 1:55:12Halloween now that I'm thinking maybe maybe they're going to
- 1:55:15Halloween one and maybe there might be some like the Mummy,
- 1:55:18because obviously they know they've got the Egyptian sublime
- 1:55:21going now as well. So that could be a good time to
- 1:55:23introduce that sort of horror character.
- 1:55:25That's yeah, good shaft. And then, of course, we've got
- 1:55:29the other Egyptian gods. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:55:32Yeah. But and and then the hint at
- 1:55:36maybe possibly that female character from the looked like
- 1:55:40maybe a Mary Poppins type character.
- 1:55:42I don't know if. That's funnily enough, that's
- 1:55:44what came to my mind when I saw her.
- 1:55:45It was Mary Poppins. But maybe we will get Mary
- 1:55:48Poppins. I don't know if she's she's
- 1:55:50probably owned by Disney. Isn't she?
- 1:55:52Say they can't. That'll say my, that'll say my
- 1:55:53wallet quite a bit of money so. Right to wind us out here then
- 1:56:00Kieran Edmund popped a question on our Discord today.
- 1:56:05Just in time, Kieran, so do you think that the mythics will
- 1:56:09continue the versus waves? So not not not like the previous
- 1:56:13version continue full stop, but continue the versus waves at G
- 1:56:17Con. And then for the reuse slash,
- 1:56:21you know the like the ashes of a Bender wave, we get a story
- 1:56:25driven ashes of a Bender wave. And then he says, personally, I
- 1:56:30like the fact that we can fill out the factions doing the
- 1:56:32versus waves and then get a variety of factions and races in
- 1:56:36the mid year drops would also mean that our tour would be
- 1:56:40soon. I think we've we did an episode
- 1:56:42on what we might like next from our here.
- 1:56:44So if you haven't listened to that, go back and have a listen
- 1:56:47if you're interested in our here.
- 1:56:49So what do you think, Ma? No, I think we're going to get
- 1:56:53something different from this point on.
- 1:56:55I think they've done the versus waves to fill out the various
- 1:56:59factions we've now got. Arathi is probably still the
- 1:57:03biggest faction, but we've got roughly similar figures, which
- 1:57:06is part of the reason I hope we don't get verses because I don't
- 1:57:09want more Arathi just yet. But I think we've got roughly
- 1:57:13similar amounts of figures for most of the factions.
- 1:57:17Maybe a couple are still a bit short, but that's why I don't
- 1:57:20think we'll get the verses. I think they'll try and fill out
- 1:57:22some of the spots that are a bit thin.
- 1:57:26I definitely think we're going to start to see more and I think
- 1:57:29that's what kind of Jeremy was trying to get at with the Ashes
- 1:57:33of AG Bendor and this idea that we're going to start getting
- 1:57:35stories. I think that's going to be the
- 1:57:40All Star slash reinforcements waves moving forward, not
- 1:57:43reinforcements. The All Stars waves moving
- 1:57:45forward are going to be that, I think.
- 1:57:50Yeah, I agree, Mal, I think I think mid year waves will be
- 1:57:53lots of reuse like this year, but it's a good way to fill out
- 1:57:56the current factions. You know, you can have a night
- 1:57:59with just a head that they've told for something else sort of
- 1:58:01thing. You can drop it in there.
- 1:58:03So basically what they did this time in terms of that, you can
- 1:58:05go through the second Great War, you can bring up, you know,
- 1:58:08chance of version twos, all that sort of stuff.
- 1:58:11But Gcon, no, I agree. I don't think they'll go down
- 1:58:14the versus waves. I certainly desperately hope
- 1:58:16they don't start Aritha and the Legion again.
- 1:58:21It's like, no, we've had five years that it's been amazing,
- 1:58:23but let's do something different.
- 1:58:25Now is the time to spread their wings and introduce lizard men
- 1:58:28where all that sort of thing. And I was thinking about
- 1:58:32probably. And it's like, maybe.
- 1:58:39And this is, yeah, craziness, that the second wall was so
- 1:58:42cataclysmic that it somehow shifted the continents and
- 1:58:45another continent that suddenly drifted a lot closer to mythos
- 1:58:47than it was. Oh.
- 1:58:48Nate, get your pencils out. You need to draw a new map.
- 1:58:51Which is where all these new races and species and types of
- 1:58:55characters come from, because all of us.
- 1:58:56And they're so close that they can get involved in in what's
- 1:58:59going on Mythos. And they might even then drive
- 1:59:01the remaining factions of Mythos to band together even some evil
- 1:59:04characters to then fight the new guys.
- 1:59:06So there's all one sort of storyline you can go down, yeah.
- 1:59:10Well my answer is I don't think they will as well as you boys
- 1:59:14and I think that they will introduce new factions at G Con
- 1:59:18and they'll be related to mythos after the Ashes of Ekbendor
- 1:59:23story. So the new.
- 1:59:25Legions rise of the lizard men, you hear?
- 1:59:28Well, my my back of my mind. Oh, he's doing the outro.
- 1:59:33I should say this quick back of my mind.
- 1:59:36I wonder if we're going to get not a dragon,
- 2:00:07Do I need to bleep the word shag or?
- 2:00:10It's not going to. Sound good?
- 2:00:11No, I don't think so. People think that's the safe
- 2:00:14word. You.
- 2:00:14Probably won't mean anything to the Americans anyway.
- 2:00:18No, I can't. No, I can't leave this in the as
- 2:00:21an outtake or dependency. What can I?
- 2:00:26Yeah, I'm sure they were, that it was.
- 2:00:30Nobody listens this long anyway. Is is a laugh and that's all it
- 2:00:34was if he listens.
