New bodycam footage from Charlestown, Rhode Island, captures the chaotic arrest of 23-year-old Jonathan Vasquez, who was driving drunk and the wrong way — crashing into a police cruiser when officers tried to pull him over. Gunshots ring out as another officer arrives; Vasquez, confused and visibly intoxicated with a BAC of .138, asks why they’re firing and calls the arrest excessive. He later vomited in the back of the cruiser, and vodka was found in his car. No one was injured, but he’s now facing court with a $1K recognizance and a competency hearing set for October 14th.
