- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to a meeting of the minds crafted from decades
- 0:05Speaker 1: of talk show experience, an extension of the magic they've
- 0:08Speaker 1: created together on radio in the phenomenon called M and
- 0:12Speaker 1: M Hot Topics in the News and Wisdom from Life.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It's Mark Davis and Mike Gallagher. This is eminem Extra.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Yes it is.
- 0:23Speaker 2: At what point?
- 0:24Speaker 3: Where's the bar set for a special edition of eminem Extra.
- 0:27Speaker 3: We like to think they're all special, but they're particularly
- 0:30Speaker 3: special when Mike travels right into the nucleus of a
- 0:33Speaker 3: huge breaking news story, and we want to tell everybody that. Obviously,
- 0:36Speaker 3: before we tell everybody where Mike is, we want to
- 0:38Speaker 3: tell everybody where we are and where our hearts are
- 0:41Speaker 3: with regard to Preborn, because our friends at Preborn they're
- 0:44Speaker 3: a title sponsor. We're so, so so grateful that portions
- 0:47Speaker 3: of our program are brought to you by these good
- 0:49Speaker 3: folks at Preborn, showing pregnant moms ultrasounds there more than
- 0:54Speaker 3: twice as likely to choose life. And you can be
- 0:57Speaker 3: a part of this magnificent campaign at eight three three
- 0:59Speaker 3: eight five zero Baby eight three three eight five Oh Baby,
- 1:02Speaker 3: or go to preborn dot com slash mm extra much
- 1:05Speaker 3: more about them as we continue preborn dot com slash
- 1:09Speaker 3: M M Extra. I'm one of the m's Mark Davis.
- 1:11Speaker 3: He's the other M Mike Gallagher, and I'm in my
- 1:13Speaker 3: usual home base of Texas. And Mike is in Rockhill,
- 1:17Speaker 3: South Carolina, just over the North Carolina border from Charlotte.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Know it well and you are there, Why Mike tell
- 1:23Speaker 3: everybody please.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Well, can I get a little personal and brag a
- 1:27Speaker 2: little bit on my South Carolina roots? Because I'm on
- 1:31Speaker 2: a couple of radio stations in South Carolina where I
- 1:34Speaker 2: have been happily settled in for years. Of course, everybody
- 1:39Speaker 2: knows about Greenville, Spartanburg Anderson Word. They used to be
- 1:42Speaker 2: known as WFBC. It's really where I started, kind of
- 1:46Speaker 2: where I cut my teeth and talk radio in nineteen
- 1:48Speaker 2: eighty nine, long time ago, and I started my sort
- 1:53Speaker 2: of my sort of path with that stations where I
- 1:57Speaker 2: met my Denise and we were married there and we
- 2:00Speaker 2: raised our kids, and so it's home for me. And
- 2:03Speaker 2: I'm also in rock Hill on WRHI, and they are
- 2:08Speaker 2: a legendary talk station. It's kind of fun to brag
- 2:12Speaker 2: on them because they just won I think for like
- 2:14Speaker 2: the tenth year in a row news talk Station of
- 2:17Speaker 2: the Year in South Carolina from the South Carolina Broadcasters Convention.
- 2:21Speaker 2: So you know, look at them and they're great, great folks,
- 2:24Speaker 2: Manning Kimmel and Steve and all these great folks who
- 2:27Speaker 2: have welcomed us here with open arms because rock Hill
- 2:31Speaker 2: is the home of Congressman Ralph Norman and today is
- 2:36Speaker 2: election day here in South Carolina. I decided, course, this
- 2:39Speaker 2: is typical Gallagher. I think it was Friday. I said, Eric,
- 2:44Speaker 2: I want to go to South Carolina Tuesday. He's like,
- 2:46Speaker 2: wait a minute.
- 2:47Speaker 3: The jet.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't quite work that way. Thankfully there's lots
- 2:52Speaker 2: of nonstops on American airlines from Tampa to Charlotte. But
- 2:55Speaker 2: you know it's more than that. It's the technical stuff.
- 2:58Speaker 2: It's all the planning. You're supposed to take weeks to
- 3:01Speaker 2: plan an on site remote and I gave our team
- 3:04Speaker 2: about four days notice. But pull it off they did.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Here we are and WRHI with a great day to day.
- 3:11Speaker 2: We did the show this morning from their studios, interviewing
- 3:16Speaker 2: Congressman Ralph Norman. And let me pull the curtain back.
- 3:19Speaker 2: As you love to say, I'm going to borrow Mark
- 3:20Speaker 2: Davis expression I am very offended and I'm personally annoyed
- 3:30Speaker 2: on behalf of my audience. Let me tell you why
- 3:33Speaker 2: I've been reaching out. We've been reaching out to the
- 3:35Speaker 2: Darlene Graham Nordon campaign and for people who are just
- 3:38Speaker 2: joining us, I mean, you may not be plugged into this.
- 3:40Speaker 2: It's a big national it's an election with national implications.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Y'all do it.
- 3:44Speaker 3: And it's the Senate. People often ask why you do
- 3:46Speaker 3: you you're not in South Carolina. What do you carry?
- 3:49Speaker 3: It's the Senate. It's everybody's business. It's what's for the
- 3:52Speaker 3: benefit of the nation. What's for the benefit of the
- 3:54Speaker 3: Trump and Jeda everyone cares about what South Carolina does
- 3:57Speaker 3: tonight exactly.
- 3:58Speaker 2: And it's crucial because because if she's another leaser. And
- 4:02Speaker 2: let's go back quickly to the history of this. Lindsey
- 4:04Speaker 2: Graham unexpectedly suffers a terrible catastrophic health condition at home.
- 4:10Speaker 2: He has a heart attack, he dies. The story emerged.
- 4:13Speaker 2: He and his sister have been together forever. He raised
- 4:16Speaker 2: her from childhood when with their parents died at an
- 4:19Speaker 2: early age. He loves her. She served as the director
- 4:23Speaker 2: of the Commission of the Blind in South Carolina. She
- 4:26Speaker 2: was also apparently an optometrist for some period of time.
- 4:29Speaker 2: But as far as any legislative background, well there is none.
- 4:33Speaker 2: And she was initially introduced as the temporary placeholder for
- 4:40Speaker 2: her brother's sake.
- 4:41Speaker 3: A few months for the rest of the election season,
- 4:43Speaker 3: and then the real senator would take the seat in jail,
- 4:46Speaker 3: that's correct.
- 4:46Speaker 2: And then then along comes a change of heart, and
- 4:49Speaker 2: then Genie decided evidently she wants the job for the
- 4:52Speaker 2: full six year term. So now she's in it. And
- 4:55Speaker 2: along comes President Trump, alongs come Senator Tim Scott, a
- 4:59Speaker 2: long come all of these you know, big time Republicans
- 5:03Speaker 2: all in for her, uh and and they want John
- 5:07Speaker 2: Hannity who And they all had one thing in common.
- 5:10Speaker 2: They loved Lindsey Graham. They loved Lindsay Graham, and I
- 5:14Speaker 2: think they feel in honor of him and to pay
- 5:18Speaker 2: proper tribute to him, they have to support her. And
- 5:22Speaker 2: everybody is justifiably concerned, Well, what the heck, how's she
- 5:27Speaker 2: gonna govern, How's she gonna vote, How's she gonna legislate?
- 5:31Speaker 2: Is she gonna be Lisa Murkowski from South Carolina? Is
- 5:33Speaker 2: she gonna stab Trump in the back over a myriad
- 5:36Speaker 2: of issues? You know, and look, as the debate showed
- 5:40Speaker 2: the other night, she can get pretty feisty. I mean,
- 5:43Speaker 2: this woman is not exactly you know, out of the
- 5:45Speaker 2: out of the uh you know, Norman, Vincent Peelee. How
- 5:48Speaker 2: to win friends and.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Influence people didn't come to her naturally. As she turned
- 5:52Speaker 3: to Ralph Norman and said, I tried to find something
- 5:55Speaker 3: you did you named post office? Good for you. It
- 5:59Speaker 3: was so unnun.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Sorry about that.
- 6:01Speaker 3: It was so unnatural, it was so forced, and I
- 6:03Speaker 3: could just see some stupid consultant handler going, look, Darlene,
- 6:08Speaker 3: you got pretty well nothing. You're just gonna have to
- 6:10Speaker 3: smear Ralph. That's your path to victory. It is not
- 6:13Speaker 3: a suit of clothes that fit her well. I think
- 6:16Speaker 3: she is a sweet woman. I think she is a
- 6:18Speaker 3: nice lady. I think she's a woman of accomplishment and substance.
- 6:22Speaker 3: But six years in the Senate, oh hell no. And
- 6:25Speaker 3: that's what I think South Carolinians will say tomorrow today.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Well, and there's so much that's being released of her,
- 6:32Speaker 2: I mean, you know, and look, there's some hints and
- 6:35Speaker 2: I'm going to play this clip for you because this
- 6:37Speaker 2: kind of went viral over the weekend. The mask the masks,
- 6:41Speaker 2: got the big oversized mask of it.
- 6:43Speaker 3: It's just never a good look.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Well, but not only let's besides laughing at this, though,
- 6:48Speaker 2: I think there's there's a real important fact to be
- 6:52Speaker 2: made here. If you're wearing your giant face diaper, you
- 6:56Speaker 2: got your big oversized mask.
- 6:58Speaker 3: When was When was this though?
- 6:59Speaker 2: Well? Well I don't know, But what I know is
- 7:01Speaker 2: that the people she was talking to didn't have any
- 7:03Speaker 2: masks on. Okay, all right, so I mean it was
- 7:06Speaker 2: a few. It was described as it wasn't last week.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I mean, who showed footage you did? You showed me
- 7:12Speaker 2: footage of a big gathering of Democrats and they're all
- 7:14Speaker 2: wearing masks. I think it was in Maine last month.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Said wait a minute, what what are these people do it?
- 7:20Speaker 3: So it's not like it was that, but we were
- 7:22Speaker 3: working our way out of masks, and Darlene chose to
- 7:25Speaker 3: stay in mask land for this particular excerpt.
- 7:27Speaker 2: But more than her wearing a mask was her position
- 7:31Speaker 2: on diversity, equity and inclusion. Now there's a news site
- 7:36Speaker 2: out of South Carolina. A guy named Will Folks runs
- 7:38Speaker 2: it called fits Fitz News. Fitz News has been all
- 7:42Speaker 2: over the ALEC Murdau trials and all that stuff. I mean,
- 7:45Speaker 2: they're really good. They really get into the kind of
- 7:47Speaker 2: muckrakers and they do it, you know, good old fashioned,
- 7:51Speaker 2: you know, regional journalism always has done. And they they
- 7:55Speaker 2: reacted to this damning video that has been released, and
- 8:01Speaker 2: the video shows and again backstory here. She's locked in
- 8:05Speaker 2: what Fitznews describes as an incredibly close race against the
- 8:10Speaker 2: fifth District Congressman Ralph Norman for the proceed previously held
- 8:15Speaker 2: by Lindsay. Multiple polls shared with Fitznews show an incredibly
- 8:21Speaker 2: close race, but a late breaking video of Nordone touting
- 8:27Speaker 2: DEI policies during her tenure at the helm of the
- 8:32Speaker 2: South Carolina Commission for the Blind is having what they
- 8:35Speaker 2: describe as a devastating impact on her campaign. The clip
- 8:39Speaker 2: features Darlene Graham Nordone touting the same DEI programs she's
- 8:46Speaker 2: now seeking to distance herself from on the campaign trail.
- 8:49Speaker 2: This was in twenty twenty one, say what month? It
- 8:53Speaker 2: was twenty twenty one, so it's not exactly yesterday, but
- 8:57Speaker 2: it also is coming out of COVID. Here's what she
- 9:00Speaker 2: had to say about the dreaded DEI words.
- 9:05Speaker 4: We actually one of the things I didn't mention. We
- 9:07Speaker 4: had eighty three consumers that are worked last year. That's
- 9:10Speaker 4: more than since two twenty seventeen. And we've done some
- 9:14Speaker 4: major things at our agency. We're working on holony policies
- 9:17Speaker 4: and procedures, put internal controls in place. We've got a
- 9:21Speaker 4: diversity inclusion committee. I want to be a leader in
- 9:24Speaker 4: state agency when it comes to that. We are really
- 9:27Speaker 4: rebuilding the foundation of that agency. So super excited about it.
- 9:32Speaker 3: It's a lot of work done.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah, we've got a diversity and inclusion committee, Mark, I
- 9:38Speaker 2: want to be a lot of that in state agency when.
- 9:41Speaker 3: It comes to that.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Oh, that's that's so those are the look that's a
- 9:46Speaker 2: that's a red flag for South Carolina voters as well
- 9:49Speaker 2: as Texas voters and conservatives all over the.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Count Sure should be. And yet I keep I can't
- 9:55Speaker 3: peel away from the possibility that you may be right
- 9:58Speaker 3: if this remains your last minute observation that all these
- 10:01Speaker 3: things were pointing out. And let's just say for the fourth, fifth,
- 10:04Speaker 3: sixth time that if Darlene had seen fit to appear
- 10:08Speaker 3: on a South Carolina rooted national talk show with the
- 10:12Speaker 3: honorable Mike gall Or she would have been treated with
- 10:15Speaker 3: with with respect, with deference, asked a couple of tough questions.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Of course, but it's because it's you. It's you, my friend.
- 10:22Speaker 3: She was that their people were foolish to pass you
- 10:25Speaker 3: by well, and then let me talk about that for
- 10:27Speaker 3: just a moment.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Let me address that for a moment, because I don't
- 10:30Speaker 2: take that personally, that they're not responding to me. I
- 10:33Speaker 2: got involved when Tracy, my producer, couldn't make any headway
- 10:36Speaker 2: with these folks. I started texting because I know these
- 10:39Speaker 2: folks and I'm not going to mention names. I don't
- 10:41Speaker 2: want to embarrass anybody. That's not my intent. But I
- 10:43Speaker 2: do know them, know them well enough that I've got
- 10:45Speaker 2: some of their cell phones numbers on my cell phone.
- 10:48Speaker 2: And you know I was telling you this yesterday. It's
- 10:51Speaker 2: kind of funny. There's a setting on your iPhone. If
- 10:54Speaker 2: you have an iPhone and you send a text the
- 10:57Speaker 2: person receiving the text, there's a setting that either shows
- 11:01Speaker 2: that you've you've read the text, and then the texture
- 11:04Speaker 2: knows you've read the text. It says read literally says
- 11:07Speaker 2: ore ead read, and you know they've opened and read
- 11:11Speaker 2: your text. Now, some of us smart people don't have
- 11:13Speaker 2: that setting enabled because I don't want anybody to ever
- 11:16Speaker 2: know if I've read it or not right, So I
- 11:19Speaker 2: don't have that setting. Well, the people I reached out
- 11:22Speaker 2: to and I said to them, look, I'm not comfortable
- 11:25Speaker 2: with just interviewing Congressman Norman. I'd like to interview Senator
- 11:29Speaker 2: Graham nor Done. I'd like to let the voters decide.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I think people get to choose, and you know, I
- 11:35Speaker 2: will be kind and I will be fair and I
- 11:38Speaker 2: will be respectful. Mark, they read the texts, didn't even respond,
- 11:44Speaker 2: not even a kiss my behind, fire in the hole,
- 11:48Speaker 2: didn't even answer me. And they and you know why,
- 11:52Speaker 2: because they got her locked down like Joe Biden in
- 11:55Speaker 2: twenty twenty.
- 11:56Speaker 3: They're scared to death of missteps. Unlessen, she is a
- 11:59Speaker 3: complete neophyight. I mean I can I can argue for
- 12:03Speaker 3: not the wisdom because the optics are not great and
- 12:05Speaker 3: people are probably going to talk about it much as
- 12:07Speaker 3: we are now. But if you have somebody who's completely
- 12:09Speaker 3: untrained in this environment, then maybe this is exactly what
- 12:12Speaker 3: you do, and you hope that you can just ride.
- 12:14Speaker 3: What was your golden quote to me yesterday? You said
- 12:16Speaker 3: she's got two things going for her.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Uh So you got the ghost of.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Ghost of Lindsay and President and the Trump endorsement, and
- 12:25Speaker 3: you showed in the bee roll that Yasmin has put
- 12:27Speaker 3: up already on today's episode. It's kind of funny you
- 12:30Speaker 3: very very intentionally referred to her as as as Darley
- 12:35Speaker 3: and Graham Nordan, which is of course her married actual
- 12:37Speaker 3: legal name. She is of course on the ballot as
- 12:40Speaker 3: Darley and Graham. And there was a big sign moments
- 12:42Speaker 3: ago that said this South Carolina is Graham Country. They're
- 12:46Speaker 3: no fools. They want to take foot there. It is
- 12:48Speaker 3: right there. They be able to take full full advantage,
- 12:51Speaker 3: and properly so, because it is about a brand, it
- 12:54Speaker 3: is about name recognition. I understand why they're doing that too,
- 12:57Speaker 3: but I don't know if she's even able to ride
- 13:00Speaker 3: that to success. Tonight we will we will find out,
- 13:03Speaker 3: and we'll find out in pretty short or I don't believe,
- 13:05Speaker 3: unless it's hair pim, unless it's razor thin or whatever,
- 13:09Speaker 3: it takes a little while. I don't think you're going
- 13:11Speaker 3: to need a week to figure this election out either.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Well, we mentioned the two things that Ralph has to overcome.
- 13:16Speaker 2: The Trump endorsement the ghost of Lindsay Graham. Look there,
- 13:20Speaker 2: Senator Tim Scott is a very popular politicians in South Carolina.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Let's let's check in what he said on NBC's Meet
- 13:29Speaker 2: the Press Sunday. He weighed in and explained to Kristin
- 13:32Speaker 2: Welker why he believes that Darlene is going to win tonight.
- 13:37Speaker 5: Very confiden It's one of the reasons why I waited
- 13:40Speaker 5: thirty days to make sure that I felt like she
- 13:43Speaker 5: was ready. I can tell you, as the senior year
- 13:45Speaker 5: senator for the great state of South Carolina, the person
- 13:48Speaker 5: I want in the Senate with me Darlene Graham representing.
- 13:52Speaker 2: The people of South Carolina.
- 13:54Speaker 3: All right, well, Wessy's choice.
- 13:55Speaker 6: Let's talk about the broader state of play for the Senate.
- 13:59Speaker 6: According to the Cook Political Report, six of the key
- 14:03Speaker 6: battleground races have shifted out of republicans favor since April.
- 14:07Speaker 6: Texas and Iowa moved from lean Republican to.
- 14:11Speaker 5: Toss up just this week.
- 14:13Speaker 6: As chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, why do
- 14:17Speaker 6: you think that so many of these Republican leaning races
- 14:22Speaker 6: have now moved to toss ups?
- 14:25Speaker 5: Well, I am very confident that we will be in
- 14:28Speaker 5: the majority at the end of November this year. And
- 14:32Speaker 5: let me tell you why we are facing the most dangerous,
- 14:35Speaker 5: radical and frankly Christian weird democrats I've seen in my lifetime.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Let's start in Texas. James tall Rico believes that God
- 14:44Speaker 5: is non binary. He's a person who's so out of
- 14:47Speaker 5: step with Texans that we're seeing a coalition building around
- 14:51Speaker 5: our candidate Paxton, Republicans and Democrats and Independence coming together
- 14:56Speaker 5: to make sure that James tall Rico never sees the Senate.
- 15:00Speaker 5: We're going to come your attention to Michigan Abdul ls III,
- 15:04Speaker 5: the same kind of dangerous, radical, weird candidate they're all
- 15:08Speaker 5: over the country. We feel really good about where we are.
- 15:11Speaker 5: And if you want to go back to Iowa, we
- 15:14Speaker 5: have Ashley Henson, a strong, powerful candidate running very strong
- 15:19Speaker 5: in her state. And on the other side, we have
- 15:22Speaker 5: Josh Turek, who has never seen a tax increase he
- 15:25Speaker 5: didn't like. We're talking about someone willing to take resources
- 15:30Speaker 5: out of the pockets of people working over time. We're
- 15:33Speaker 5: talking about someone who believes that raising taxes will help
- 15:37Speaker 5: people in Iowa.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Great guy and look real. He's scathing takedown of the Democrats.
- 15:44Speaker 2: But you know, he makes a great point there about
- 15:47Speaker 2: you know what Democrats are presenting to us tall Rico.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I mean, you have the same reaction to tall Rico's
- 15:56Speaker 2: chances of winning as you do Darlene Grant Nor Don't.
- 16:00Speaker 3: You're you're, you're, you're, you're close. I I really, I
- 16:06Speaker 3: really think the people of South Carolina are going to
- 16:08Speaker 3: go with Ralph Norman. Will it surprise me if they don't,
- 16:11Speaker 3: If the factors that you've talked about, you know, Lindsay's name,
- 16:14Speaker 3: the Trump endorsement, Lindsay's ghost, they they really could. I
- 16:18Speaker 3: just think, I think and hope that they will be
- 16:20Speaker 3: wiser than that under no circumstances of this. So that's
- 16:24Speaker 3: kind of a soft belief. I am staunchly confident that
- 16:28Speaker 3: that my state of Texas will not hand a senator
- 16:31Speaker 3: seat to someone with views as bizarre, toxic, and repellent
- 16:34Speaker 3: as James Tallery. And I'm just a little bit of
- 16:37Speaker 3: a matter of degree, and I'm.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Just just not as confident that she's got this in
- 16:40Speaker 2: the bag. I mean that he's got this in the bag,
- 16:42Speaker 2: that Ralph Norman can defeat her, because again, look he
- 16:45Speaker 2: is the underdog. There's no make no mistake about it
- 16:48Speaker 2: when you've got Trump. And not only did Trump come
- 16:50Speaker 2: to Myrtle beachless past Friday night, yesterday he held a
- 16:53Speaker 2: big tele teleconference on her behind. He's he is all in.
- 16:58Speaker 2: We're all in for our title spot. And it is
- 17:00Speaker 2: a joy to tell you about Preborn. This summer marks
- 17:03Speaker 2: three years since the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade.
- 17:07Speaker 2: The fact is the total number of abortions is only
- 17:09Speaker 2: increased with greater access to telehealth and abortion pills in
- 17:13Speaker 2: the mail, and the fact that all these avenues to
- 17:15Speaker 2: abortion are cheaper and easier medication. Abortions now account for
- 17:19Speaker 2: more than sixty percent of all abortions. That number is
- 17:22Speaker 2: only growing. Mark and I are so proud to welcome Preborn.
- 17:26Speaker 2: They are to the show. They offer free ultrasounds to
- 17:29Speaker 2: girls and women. When a young woman sees her baby
- 17:31Speaker 2: and hears her baby's heartbeat, it doubles the chance that
- 17:34Speaker 2: she's going to choose life. And you could make a

- 18:35Speaker 3: thank you for turning me under alief factor because this
- 18:38Speaker 3: has enabled me to get it back out there. We
- 18:39Speaker 3: talk all the time about you know, throwing the ball
- 18:41Speaker 3: with the dogs in the backyard, and that was sort
- 18:43Speaker 3: of the go to that showed I got rotator cuff issues.
- 18:46Speaker 3: But if there's ever hey, you ever want to reach
- 18:48Speaker 3: for something with your right hand, that's maybe just immediately
- 18:51Speaker 3: to your right or just a little bit behind. Only
- 18:53Speaker 3: thirty times a day, and whenever I did, it would
- 18:55Speaker 3: occasionally go, oh wow, that hurts. Not anymore Reliefactor dot
- 18:58Speaker 3: com or one eight hundred relief, And it's also taken
- 19:01Speaker 3: away that early morning achiness I get up. I'm rare
- 19:05Speaker 3: to go all thanks to Relief Factor, which you've known
- 19:07Speaker 3: about for a good while.
- 19:08Speaker 2: You know, nothing makes me happier than to meet somebody
- 19:11Speaker 2: who has heard our messages for Relief Factor and has
- 19:14Speaker 2: really made their life easier. About a week ago, I
- 19:17Speaker 2: was in Low's in the home improvement center picking something up.
- 19:20Speaker 2: The guy knew what I do, and we struck up
- 19:24Speaker 2: a conversation. He said, Mike, I'm sixty nine years old.
- 19:27Speaker 2: He goes, I've had shoulder leg hip, you name it.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Everything seems to be failing. I've been a Relief a
- 19:34Speaker 2: Relief Factor customer for about a year and it's been
- 19:36Speaker 2: a godsend in my life and that made me so happy.
- 19:39Speaker 2: The guy almost got emotional. So support relief factor. It
- 19:42Speaker 2: works for so many of us, including Mark Davis. Call
- 19:45Speaker 2: eight hundred the number four relief, the three week quick
- 19:48Speaker 2: start seventeen seventy six. It's a low cost way for
- 19:51Speaker 2: you going to take it out for a test drive.
- 19:53Speaker 2: And the price is in honor of our two hundred
- 19:56Speaker 2: and fiftieth this year seventeen seventy six for the three
- 19:58Speaker 2: week quick start cost way to try it. Reliefactor dot
- 20:01Speaker 2: com Reliefactor dot com are called eight hundred and four
- 20:04Speaker 2: Relief eight hundred to number four Relief. Mark. You know,
- 20:08Speaker 2: I do get a little bit of criticism, maybe you
- 20:10Speaker 2: have two or people say, O, come on, enough of
- 20:11Speaker 2: South Carolina. It's a huge national election. It's gotten big
- 20:17Speaker 2: national implications. In fact, the New Yorker magazine just did
- 20:22Speaker 2: a big profile or a big article asking the question
- 20:26Speaker 2: does anybody know who Darlene Graham is? And it was
- 20:30Speaker 2: an article written by Charles Bathia. Let me share with
- 20:34Speaker 2: you a little bit from the article and bounce it
- 20:36Speaker 2: off of you and see in this reflects your concerns.
- 20:39Speaker 2: So who exactly is the woman Trump hopes will become
- 20:43Speaker 2: the next elected senator from South Carolina. A local Republican
- 20:48Speaker 2: strategist who worked with Lindsey Graham for years told me
- 20:51Speaker 2: of his sister, it's anybody's guests. The strategist, who spoke
- 20:56Speaker 2: on the condition of anonymity, went on, quote, I mean,
- 20:59Speaker 2: you assume she's Lindsay's sister, and so she's conservative right
- 21:04Speaker 2: when it comes to the hard issues. I don't think
- 21:06Speaker 2: anybody has any clues unquote. South Carolina's Democrats, who have
- 21:11Speaker 2: not won statewide office since two thousand and six, are
- 21:15Speaker 2: also confounded. Boyd Brown, a Democratic former state legislator, told
- 21:20Speaker 2: me she is a black box. She really truly is
- 21:25Speaker 2: an unknown. She could be the greatest US Senator we've
- 21:28Speaker 2: ever had for all we know, but she could also
- 21:30Speaker 2: be a dud. Another observer said, nobody has a bad
- 21:34Speaker 2: word to say about her, But I also haven't heard
- 21:36Speaker 2: anybody say that she's a perfect fit for the job.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I think she's gonna have to fight off that nepotism thing.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Merrill noted that her brother had been seeking a fifth term.
- 21:45Speaker 2: He said, as much as everyone respected and loved Lindsey,
- 21:48Speaker 2: there was a little bit of tiredness of that as well,
- 21:51Speaker 2: she might have to deal with that fatigue. And Sean Davis, finally,
- 21:55Speaker 2: the co founder, and I think you and I would
- 21:57Speaker 2: agree with this entirely. The co founder of The Federalist
- 22:00Speaker 2: expressed the same idea slightly differently in an ex post
- 22:04Speaker 2: that simply read birthright senatorship exactly is idiotic? How good
- 22:10Speaker 2: is that? Birthright senatorship is idiotic? He's got a point mark.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Was anything else? If she was Lindsay's sister, and oh,
- 22:18Speaker 3: by the way, had been had held any elected office
- 22:22Speaker 3: for a year or two with a track record of
- 22:24Speaker 3: standing for conservative things in the actual field of battle,
- 22:28Speaker 3: then that would be completely different. But it's nothing. It
- 22:31Speaker 3: literally is nothing. It's not that she's devoid of accomplishment.
- 22:35Speaker 3: She's done a number of things, some boards, some positions,
- 22:38Speaker 3: some state level things. We're not calling her, We're not
- 22:41Speaker 3: being mean to her or disparaging the achievements that she has.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Her resume is impressive. She is an impressive woman. But
- 22:48Speaker 3: that's not the question. The question is is there a
- 22:50Speaker 3: reason to invest in her six years of advance, hopes
- 22:54Speaker 3: and dreams, the first two of which are going to
- 22:56Speaker 3: be Trump's exit ramp.
- 22:58Speaker 2: It better be good.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's just not enough. Can I can I
- 23:03Speaker 3: ask you a question about the source of these doubts
- 23:05Speaker 3: for me? And it's it's a little introspective moment, and
- 23:09Speaker 3: I don't totally know what my answer is. So let's
- 23:11Speaker 3: see if you do. Is a part not all, not
- 23:14Speaker 3: at all, is a part of your concern about what
- 23:18Speaker 3: she might do or how she because again we use
- 23:21Speaker 3: Lisa Mkowski, we use Susan Collins, but we could also
- 23:23Speaker 3: use Tom Tullis and John Cornyn. But how much, if any,
- 23:27Speaker 3: of your concern that she might go wobbly? How much
- 23:31Speaker 3: of it is because she's a woman. And I don't
- 23:33Speaker 3: mean misogyny or disregard for women, but dog on it,
- 23:37Speaker 3: pound for pound, per capita, women are just more liberal
- 23:39Speaker 3: than men are. Is that any part of yours or
- 23:43Speaker 3: any voter wondering about the strength of her conservative spine?
- 23:48Speaker 2: I believe it's inevitable. Inevitable because of the precedent set
- 23:51Speaker 2: by not one, but two women in the US Senate,
- 23:55Speaker 2: Susan Collins and Lissier Murkowski. There is something about a
- 24:00Speaker 2: these women's inclination to vote with the Democrats over and
- 24:04Speaker 2: over and over again. Lisa Murkowski is vehemently opposed to
- 24:08Speaker 2: voter id laws, the Save America Act. I mean, she
- 24:12Speaker 2: is a Democrat's best friend. Now, I don't think it's
- 24:15Speaker 2: necessarily gender related. What I believe, truly is that there's
- 24:20Speaker 2: a red flag over why Democrats are treating her so well.
- 24:25Speaker 2: You want to know what my big red flag has been,
- 24:27Speaker 2: Jim Clyburn, the Democrat kingmaker. Ye, when she first threw
- 24:32Speaker 2: her hat in the ring, he was thrilled, all praising
- 24:36Speaker 2: her up one end and down the other. Look at
- 24:38Speaker 2: the Look at this article I just quoted from the
- 24:42Speaker 2: New Yorker magazine. They're interviewing Boyd Brown, a Democratic front
- 24:47Speaker 2: former state legislator. Right, so this is a South Carolina Democrat.
- 24:52Speaker 2: What did he say? Quote, she could be the greatest
- 24:55Speaker 2: US Senator we've ever had, or she could be a dud. Now,
- 25:00Speaker 2: when have you ever heard any Democrat talk about a
- 25:03Speaker 2: conservative Republican in those kind of terms? That's ridiculous, there, what,
- 25:07Speaker 2: and not to mention the at least two million dollars
- 25:11Speaker 2: that have been funneled into her campaign from Democrat packs
- 25:16Speaker 2: and strategists and donors. Mark that the big old fat
- 25:20Speaker 2: red flag for me.
- 25:21Speaker 3: It is and should be. Is it partially the phenomenon
- 25:25Speaker 3: call of the enemy of my enemy is my friend,
- 25:27Speaker 3: in that they may not be, And once she wins,
- 25:30Speaker 3: they'll bag on her every day, but they'd rather have
- 25:33Speaker 3: her than the substantially more conservative Ralph Norman could be.
- 25:37Speaker 2: And that means she's not substantially conservative. That worries me
- 25:41Speaker 2: because this is a conservative state. It is a deep
- 25:44Speaker 2: red state with conservative values. One of the big complaints
- 25:48Speaker 2: about Lindsay was that he was into forever Wars in
- 25:50Speaker 2: a way that South Carolina conservatives are not. Now she's smart.
- 25:54Speaker 2: He was soft on the borders. He was part of
- 25:56Speaker 2: the Gang of Eight back in the day. Trump made
- 25:58Speaker 2: him better, but he was a big border soft not
- 26:00Speaker 2: so long ago. Well, and she says she's not, and
- 26:03Speaker 2: in fact, she's going after Ralph. I asked him about
- 26:05Speaker 2: that earlier today and he addressed it, I think very sufficiently.
- 26:09Speaker 2: The idea that he's for amnesty is a total lie.
- 26:11Speaker 2: That's a campaign talking point, and so we sort of
- 26:15Speaker 2: we sort of clarified that with him today. But there's
- 26:18Speaker 2: just a lot of red flags and there's a lot
- 26:21Speaker 2: of concerns about where this could lead. And again, I
- 26:26Speaker 2: think I'm gonna What does your gut tell you? What's
- 26:29Speaker 2: your hunch before we tell everybody everybody about Ecole and
- 26:33Speaker 2: PhD weight loss, What your gut tells you that he's
- 26:36Speaker 2: going to win tonight?
- 26:37Speaker 3: It does not, because every factor that you've described is
- 26:42Speaker 3: sound of the power of Lindsay's legacy, the power of
- 26:45Speaker 3: the Trump endorsement, the emotional feel that all wouldn't this
- 26:49Speaker 3: be nice? Absolutely? Absolutely? Absolutely, But ultimately I think South
- 26:52Speaker 3: Carolinians are going to say who is the more reliable Trump? Ally?
- 26:56Speaker 3: Even Trump himself may not have the best radar on
- 26:59Speaker 3: this because of the pathological loyalty that he has sometimes
- 27:02Speaker 3: and for that, I would think that Ralph would win narrowly.
- 27:07Speaker 2: My gut tells me it's going to be her, and
- 27:10Speaker 2: maybe not so narrowly. That's my gut, That's how that's
- 27:13Speaker 2: my hunch. We're going to find out tomorrow. You can

- 30:49Speaker 3: from there.
- 30:50Speaker 2: It's a great greed and it's a thriller. And the
