Coyner Fire Grows Amid Dry Winds | Bend News
The Coyner Fire near Redmond is growing fast—20.7 acres and still spreading, torching trees every hour—with just 10% containment. Fire crews, including contract teams, are battling the blaze fueled by dry weather and shifting winds. Evacuations remain active for areas near Tetherow, Helmholtz, and Ivancovich roads, with two engines staying overnight to protect homes. Drivers can use NW Helmholtz Way but must watch for crews and traffic. The fire began from illegal fireworks igniting dry brush—and a home. Stay alert, stay updated.
