- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Gabe and Angie from the Big ninety eight
- 0:02Speaker 1: point seven Morning Show, and the podcast is back, and
- 0:05Speaker 1: so are we.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Woo woo whoa very excited to be back in twenty
- 0:09Speaker 2: twenty six, the podcast the show bigger and better than ever.
- 0:14Speaker 1: During the holidays, we both had kind of some crazy schedules,
- 0:16Speaker 1: some vacations, so we took a little break from the podcast.
- 0:19Speaker 1: But we are back with daily podcasts here on the
- 0:21Speaker 1: Big ninety eight point seven app or Big ninety eight
- 0:24Speaker 1: point seven dot com.
- 0:28Speaker 3: In the blue corner, coming in at five foot two.
- 0:32Speaker 4: She has returned from Where'd you go?
- 0:36Speaker 2: Uh?
- 0:36Speaker 5: I was on a Mexican cruise.
- 0:38Speaker 3: On a Mexican cruise, come in in for the Lightweight
- 0:43Speaker 3: Champion chip belt. We have Angie back in the studio.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Al raw right, well you go home, Gabe. A couple
- 0:53Speaker 2: things there. You added an inch to my height, which
- 0:56Speaker 2: I like. I like that on side one, and then
- 1:00Speaker 2: you didn't say my weight, so excellent, but you did
- 1:04Speaker 2: say that I was a lightweight, and so basically you're
- 1:07Speaker 2: my favorite person.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Angie is back in the studio.
- 1:11Speaker 1: That in and of itself is a little victory here today.
- 1:15Speaker 6: Celebrating life's little victories every morning. We practice gratitude on
- 1:20Speaker 6: Big ninety eight point seven.
- 1:22Speaker 3: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 1:24Speaker 3: plasket job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 1:28Speaker 6: Sure your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 1:31Speaker 6: two eight oho one ninety eight seven.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Kids, I also needed to win that day. I wanted
- 1:35Speaker 4: to make sure you got the intro that you deserved.
- 1:38Speaker 5: That was so kind.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Honestly, my little victory absolutely is that I'm finally back.
- 1:44Speaker 2: If there's and I had a good time, Like I'm
- 1:46Speaker 2: not trying to complain that.
- 1:48Speaker 5: Oh, I had to go on a cruise.
- 1:51Speaker 4: It was fun.
- 1:51Speaker 5: It was fun.
- 1:52Speaker 2: However, it was entirely too long. It was six days,
- 1:57Speaker 2: five nights. No, I don't need to ever be gone
- 2:01Speaker 2: that long. I missed my family, and I missed my
- 2:06Speaker 2: family because I consider you family, Gab, And it feels
- 2:09Speaker 2: really good to do this show with you every morning,
- 2:12Speaker 2: and not doing it every morning for however long felt
- 2:15Speaker 2: wrong and terrible and I hated it. So I'm very
- 2:18Speaker 2: happy to be back. My little victory is actually a
- 2:21Speaker 2: big victory that I'm back in studio with my partner
- 2:24Speaker 2: in crime.
- 2:24Speaker 1: There we go, Batman and Robin returning to the Big
- 2:28Speaker 1: ninety eight point seven morning show. My little victory here
- 2:31Speaker 1: is so while I sit and do the show, right,
- 2:33Speaker 1: there's this thing board in front of me that has
- 2:37Speaker 1: a bunch of buttons, and they all do other things,
- 2:39Speaker 1: and they all do different stuff.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, for the past seven I think seven shows,
- 2:44Speaker 1: there's this little on button for a microphone on that
- 2:47Speaker 1: side of the room. Yes, and I have to push
- 2:50Speaker 1: that for you to hear Angie speak.
- 2:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I haven't got to turn that button on in seven shows.
- 2:57Speaker 1: And I finally got to turn both the MIC's on
- 3:01Speaker 1: here today, which is a little little victory. For a while,
- 3:04Speaker 1: I was sitting there going, man, I hope I remember
- 3:06Speaker 1: how to turn that button.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I was a little worried yesterday. I was like, I
- 3:10Speaker 4: hope I remember how to do it.
- 3:12Speaker 5: Of course you're a pros pro. Of course you're gonna remember.
- 3:15Speaker 1: That is my little victory today. And by the way,
- 3:18Speaker 1: if you ever have a little victory, let us know
- 3:20Speaker 1: about it. At seven oh one two eight zero one,
- 3:24Speaker 1: nine eight seven, Tara said she completed a double shift
- 3:28Speaker 1: yesterday at work and she made it out with all
- 3:30Speaker 1: ten fingers ten toes. So way to coach you. Yeah, congratulations.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Hopefully today is a little easier on you.
- 3:42Speaker 4: I'm on vacation every single.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Da Well, Angie, you're not on vacation anymore, but you
- 3:47Speaker 1: were on vacation. Can you give us the deets? What
- 3:49Speaker 1: were you doing? You were gone for like seven shows?
- 3:52Speaker 1: How was the crew?
- 3:53Speaker 7: No?
- 3:53Speaker 2: So, yes, I went on this cruise. It was for
- 3:56Speaker 2: my niece who turned eighteen. But my niece on my
- 4:00Speaker 2: exus side of the family, but he couldn't make it.
- 4:03Speaker 2: And I've known this child since she was born. So
- 4:06Speaker 2: just because me and my gut my ex split up,
- 4:08Speaker 2: doesn't mean that she's not still my niece. So we
- 4:11Speaker 2: went on this cruise to Mexico to celebrate her and
- 4:15Speaker 2: so that she could drink when she was.
- 4:18Speaker 4: In Mexico, I guess.
- 4:22Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 4:23Speaker 2: My favorite part though, of that was that it was
- 4:26Speaker 2: like time to take your first technically legal because we're
- 4:30Speaker 2: in Mexico drink.
- 4:32Speaker 5: That girl is a pro. Okay, let let's be real.
- 4:36Speaker 2: That was not her first drink, but she but so
- 4:44Speaker 2: but was surrounded by family. We all took care of her.
- 4:46Speaker 2: She had a really good time. My favorite part of
- 4:49Speaker 2: the vacation, however, as much as I was happy to
- 4:53Speaker 2: be in the sun and in a pool and whatever
- 4:56Speaker 2: is that.
- 4:57Speaker 5: When I flew to Vegas, that's hometown.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Yep.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I flew to Vegas, and then we drove out to
- 5:04Speaker 2: Long Beach because that's where the cruise port was.
- 5:06Speaker 5: Whatever. So I flew to Vegas, and I surprised.
- 5:09Speaker 2: My mom because she thought I was just taking a
- 5:11Speaker 2: direct flight.
- 5:13Speaker 5: So I went to.
- 5:15Speaker 2: My sister's house and I was hiding in my sister's
- 5:18Speaker 2: room and my mom was coming over just because like
- 5:20Speaker 2: they love each other, and she was just coming over
- 5:22Speaker 2: that day anyway. And I walk out after my mom
- 5:26Speaker 2: has already been in the house for a few minutes
- 5:28Speaker 2: and talking to the kids or whatever, and I just
- 5:30Speaker 2: casually walk out of my sister's room with the laundry
- 5:35Speaker 2: basket and I'm like, oh, can I do some laundry?
- 5:37Speaker 5: And my mom, I mean, her eyes lit up. She
- 5:40Speaker 5: was so happy. She was like, oh.
- 5:43Speaker 2: My god, on geba and she was so excited. So
- 5:49Speaker 2: that was great. And then after the cruise, we drove
- 5:52Speaker 2: back to Vegas. So I spent a day and a
- 5:54Speaker 2: half with my mom and she waited on me hand
- 5:58Speaker 2: and foot.
- 5:59Speaker 5: It was mad.
- 6:00Speaker 2: The goal we watched True Crime documentaries together. She did
- 6:05Speaker 2: all my laundry from the trip. It was really nice.
- 6:09Speaker 2: So I think, of all the things, my favorite thing
- 6:12Speaker 2: was just spending some time with my mom.
- 6:14Speaker 5: But now that all of a sudden and done, I'm
- 6:16Speaker 5: just glad to be back here.
- 6:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Well, whilst you were gone, there was a day where
- 6:21Speaker 1: the wind chill had it like minus twenty five or something,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and I remember sitting here going, you know, Angie is
- 6:29Speaker 1: somewhere on a cruise where it's like.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Ninety degrees sunny.
- 6:36Speaker 1: She's sipping a whatever, Yeah, and I'm freezing in here alone.
- 6:41Speaker 5: So resent me for a little bit.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Do you ever do that to No, I'm just kidding.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I hope you had a wonderful time. It was a
- 6:48Speaker 1: much well deserved vacation for you, and I'm just glad
- 6:51Speaker 1: you're back.
- 6:51Speaker 4: So I'm not want to be back.
- 6:53Speaker 5: I will say this.
- 6:54Speaker 2: As soon as I stepped off of the plane and
- 6:58Speaker 2: I'm like going through the what is that the jet
- 7:01Speaker 2: bridge to get to the airport.
- 7:03Speaker 5: It was so cold, but it felt so right.
- 7:09Speaker 2: And so now I feel like, very officially officially, because
- 7:12Speaker 2: I will have been here for a year at the
- 7:14Speaker 2: end of February, I'm like nah, I'm a far going.
- 7:19Speaker 4: The holidays have coming gone.
- 7:21Speaker 1: If you maybe gifted your child or your niece or
- 7:25Speaker 1: your nephew or whoever grandkid a musical instrument.
- 7:29Speaker 5: How dare you know?
- 7:31Speaker 4: I want to know.
- 7:32Speaker 1: How it's going, because I never want to discourage kids
- 7:35Speaker 1: from learning musical instruments. So they're so good for your brain,
- 7:38Speaker 1: and it's so good to learn something that you have
- 7:41Speaker 1: to struggle through, unless you, I don't know, you just
- 7:45Speaker 1: wake up and you have a Beethoven su kid who
- 7:47Speaker 1: can just play the piano out the womb.
- 7:49Speaker 4: You know, you have to struggle through it and not
- 7:51Speaker 4: be great.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's a very rewarding and humbling experience. I
- 7:55Speaker 1: started playing guitar at a pretty young age, and there's
- 7:57Speaker 1: a lot of musical musical instruments. I can kind of
- 8:00Speaker 1: half baked play, you know, half ace play, and then
- 8:04Speaker 1: I can play the guitar a little bit. And to
- 8:06Speaker 1: this day, I still feel so bad for my parents
- 8:10Speaker 1: those first like six months of just listening to me
- 8:14Speaker 1: just try to learn this electric guitar. I'm sure the
- 8:17Speaker 1: volume was way louder than it had to be and
- 8:21Speaker 1: it was a nightmare for him. Now, I'm sure it's
- 8:23Speaker 1: pretty cool, like, oh yeah, Gabe, God, he can play
- 8:25Speaker 1: that on guitar.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I wanted to know, whilst you're proud and happy that
- 8:29Speaker 1: your kid's learning a musical instrument, what's the worst one
- 8:33Speaker 1: for them to try to struggle through and learn, Because Angie,
- 8:37Speaker 1: there is something that sounds a little bit like this
- 8:40Speaker 1: going on at your house right now. Who's learning the
- 8:50Speaker 1: drums at your house?
- 8:51Speaker 2: Both your yah, both my kids. So my ex I
- 8:55Speaker 2: will get well played, sir. He sent for Christmas a
- 8:59Speaker 2: drum set.
- 9:01Speaker 5: For both boys to learn, and.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I hate it, but I do want them to learn.
- 9:11Speaker 2: And in the grand scheme, like when they grow up,
- 9:14Speaker 2: drummers are hot, and so I think that'd be great
- 9:19Speaker 2: for them to be drummers, if only for their love life,
- 9:23Speaker 2: but the process of them where first of all, I'm
- 9:27Speaker 2: not musical, so I can't even help them. Mikey, thank god,
- 9:31Speaker 2: he is a musical person, and so he's the one
- 9:34Speaker 2: that's going to be working with them.
- 9:36Speaker 5: On learning how to play the drums.
- 9:40Speaker 2: But it really is so I just go downstairs and
- 9:44Speaker 2: you know, cry, No, it's tis the season for earplugs,
- 9:50Speaker 2: is what it is. But the drums of all things
- 9:54Speaker 2: we have.
- 9:54Speaker 5: We also have a harmonica in the house.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Liam is he needs formal train, but weirdly like kind
- 10:01Speaker 2: of great harmonica. And if I had to choose between
- 10:05Speaker 2: the two, I would be like, listen Blues Traveler, lean Into,
- 10:09Speaker 2: Lean Into Harmonica time, Liam play.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Did you ever buy your kid an instrument? And you're
- 10:18Speaker 1: very happy about it, but it took a little bit
- 10:21Speaker 1: to get over the humped to where you're like, oh, okay,
- 10:23Speaker 1: like they're kind of getting good at this. Yeah, what
- 10:24Speaker 1: would be the worst instrument? And I did find some
- 10:27Speaker 1: of these answers angie drums or the electric guitar?
- 10:31Speaker 4: Which one you want to listen to?
- 10:33Speaker 5: Drums? I think, actually, what.
- 10:35Speaker 4: About a saxophone or trumpet?
- 10:38Speaker 2: No, once it gets into what do you play those
- 10:40Speaker 2: in band? Anybody who has a band, kid, may God
- 10:46Speaker 2: be with you because those are rough, okay?
- 10:48Speaker 4: And then last one here the drums or the flute.
- 10:53Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the flute.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Yeah, there is kind of whimsical. I'll play in a flute.
- 10:57Speaker 7: Yeah, you're.
- 11:04Speaker 1: There's a viral mom on TikTok right now who shared
- 11:08Speaker 1: this story about her son who was invited to this
- 11:11Speaker 1: birthday party, if you know, like kids do ye And
- 11:13Speaker 1: when she RSVP'd as she had found out that her
- 11:16Speaker 1: son was all of a sudden disinvited to this party,
- 11:20Speaker 1: which is sad and horrible, and I don't know the
- 11:23Speaker 1: exact full backstory. She didn't give a ton of details
- 11:26Speaker 1: on it. But I was thinking about when I was
- 11:28Speaker 1: a kid. I don't think I ever disinvited someone from
- 11:31Speaker 1: a party. I surely have done that as a thirty
- 11:32Speaker 1: five year old adult.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Yeah, that was the time to do it when you're
- 11:35Speaker 5: an adult, not as a kid. That's rude.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I totally agree. Seven oh one two eight zero one
- 11:41Speaker 1: nine eight seven. Has there ever been a time that
- 11:43Speaker 1: you had to disinvite someone to a party? Now, I
- 11:47Speaker 1: didn't disinvite people to a wedding when I got married,
- 11:51Speaker 1: but there were definitely some individuals who I think thought
- 11:54Speaker 1: they were going to get the old invite.
- 11:55Speaker 4: But I had this rule.
- 11:57Speaker 1: If I hadn't talked to you, texted you anything in
- 12:00Speaker 1: one year, I'm not inviting you here you go, that's fair.
- 12:04Speaker 1: That was kind of my rule for that. Did you
- 12:06Speaker 1: ever uninvite someone to a party before?
- 12:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I've had to un invite my in loss really
- 12:13Speaker 2: in laws, uh, the in loss. It's because they, for
- 12:16Speaker 2: a stretch of time hated me.
- 12:20Speaker 5: It was like, well, we're not going to invite you to.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Things pretty easy uninvited me. Yeah, all right, Thomas. Did
- 12:28Speaker 1: you ever uninvite someone to a party?
- 12:30Speaker 4: They kept bringing plus ones I didn't.
- 12:32Speaker 7: Know without asking.
- 12:34Speaker 2: After the third time, I figured it was safer just
- 12:36Speaker 2: to uninvite them all together.
- 12:38Speaker 1: That one hundred percent would happen in college a lot
- 12:41Speaker 1: when we were going to parties in college, there was
- 12:44Speaker 1: people who we'd invite over, you know, and it'd be like, yeah,
- 12:46Speaker 1: a couple of your buddies or whatever can come, and
- 12:48Speaker 1: then they chop up with like thirteen people deep, and
- 12:50Speaker 1: it got to the point where you're like, we don't
- 12:51Speaker 1: want all these people here.
- 12:53Speaker 4: What are you doing?
- 12:54Speaker 1: So I've definitely stopped inviting people to stuff when I
- 12:57Speaker 1: was in college like that seven oh one to eight
- 13:00Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven uninviting someone to a party.
- 13:04Speaker 1: As this mom goes viral on TikTok for a lot
- 13:07Speaker 1: sadder thing. I mean, this involves the kids. Who knows,
- 13:09Speaker 1: maybe they got in a fight or something at school
- 13:12Speaker 1: and the parents aren't super aware about it, yet, I'm
- 13:14Speaker 1: sure stories will come out as I died more into
- 13:16Speaker 1: that On TikTok Angela, did you ever uninvite someone to
- 13:20Speaker 1: a party?
- 13:21Speaker 7: I didn't want to, but she turned my birthday into
- 13:23Speaker 7: a group chat debate about the restaurant, the time, the vibe,
- 13:28Speaker 7: the weather, just everything. And by the fifth message, I
- 13:32Speaker 7: realized she wasn't coming to celebrate me. She was coming
- 13:35Speaker 7: to manage it. So I quietly uninvited her and feast
- 13:39Speaker 7: was restored.
- 13:40Speaker 4: That definitely happens.
- 13:41Speaker 5: You start the other group chat where you leave that person.
- 13:44Speaker 6: That's right, This is am I the problem.
- 13:50Speaker 1: It's me.
- 13:53Speaker 4: On the problem.
- 13:54Speaker 1: It's me.
- 13:55Speaker 6: We'll hear one side of the story, and with your help,
- 13:57Speaker 6: am I the problem, decide if it's right or if
- 14:00Speaker 6: maybe you're the problem.
- 14:02Speaker 4: I'm hardly the problem.
- 14:03Speaker 6: On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 14:07Speaker 2: All right, we've got Emily who wrote into us because
- 14:10Speaker 2: she feels like she's.
- 14:12Speaker 5: Being gas lit by her an laws.
- 14:15Speaker 2: This is what she had to say, My in laws
- 14:17Speaker 2: are gaslighting me, and I need you guys to be
- 14:20Speaker 2: on my side.
- 14:21Speaker 5: Okay, sasks to be on.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Your I like it, come out and be up front
- 14:25Speaker 1: right away, all right, Emily Wins.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I'm married into a big family where potlucks are their things.
- 14:31Speaker 2: So I always brought dishes that my family and friends love,
- 14:34Speaker 2: but my food always went completely untouched while everything else
- 14:39Speaker 2: was eaten. So then I made dishes that I'd seen
- 14:43Speaker 2: at the potlucks before that people would eat, and still
- 14:47Speaker 2: nothing my stuff ended up in the trash. So as
- 14:50Speaker 2: of late, I've stopped bringing anything, and my sister in law,
- 14:54Speaker 2: mother in law, and brother in law texted my husband
- 14:57Speaker 2: about it. He stood up for me and and said,
- 15:00Speaker 2: they never eat anything I make anyway. They said, of
- 15:04Speaker 2: course they do, otherwise why would they notice me not
- 15:07Speaker 2: bringing food anymore? So now my husband is asking me
- 15:10Speaker 2: if I'm sure my food doesn't get eaten, because that's
- 15:13Speaker 2: a good point. But I'm telling you, they do not
- 15:16Speaker 2: eat my food, and I don't understand why this is
- 15:19Speaker 2: even a thing.
- 15:20Speaker 5: What do you guys think.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Oh, Emily, I think you're a bad cook, dang you,
- 15:30Speaker 2: I don't I'd like. I think she's just not good
- 15:34Speaker 2: at cooking. I think she's taking this the wrong way.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I think they're trying to include her, even though they
- 15:41Speaker 2: think everything she makes tastes horrible. But I think that
- 15:45Speaker 2: they're doing it out of a place of like we care.
- 15:48Speaker 2: We want her to bring food, we want her to
- 15:51Speaker 2: be included. I guess they just didn't realize that.
- 15:56Speaker 5: She noticed that they don't need it.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Well, that is one way to look at it, Emily.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I have some advice for you here, and this is
- 16:04Speaker 1: what I do every Thanksgiving, every Christmas. Okay, what is
- 16:09Speaker 1: one thing we've learned here on Big ninety eight point seven? Angie, Oh,
- 16:13Speaker 1: I know what do I show up with two things
- 16:16Speaker 1: like this?
- 16:17Speaker 2: You show up with Don dish soap and you're the
- 16:21Speaker 2: dishes here.
- 16:22Speaker 4: N is exactly right, Emily. You know what you do?
- 16:26Speaker 1: You participate by doing the dishes. You don't bring any
- 16:30Speaker 1: food you're cooking apparently kind of stinks. Okay, so what
- 16:35Speaker 1: you do to remedy that You show up with a
- 16:37Speaker 1: bottle of Don dish soap, some gloves if you want them,
- 16:41Speaker 1: and one of those wands that you use to clean the.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Dishes, and then you just do the dishes. At the
- 16:47Speaker 4: end of the night.
- 16:48Speaker 1: No one would ever complain say anything bad about you
- 16:52Speaker 1: if you show up and are the dishes hero. People
- 16:55Speaker 1: more likely are to remember the kind thing you did
- 16:59Speaker 1: for them and the crummy mashed potatoes you tried to bring. Okay,
- 17:04Speaker 1: try that, that's my advice.
- 17:05Speaker 2: What do you think seven oh one to two, eight
- 17:07Speaker 2: oh one, nine eighty seven? Is Emily the problem? Or
- 17:12Speaker 2: is are her in laws being meanies.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Her?
- 17:18Speaker 4: Thirty six? There, so I fire that a little thirty six.
- 17:21Speaker 4: It's gonna be nice today.
- 17:22Speaker 5: Yeah, we am by the problem. Today.
- 17:25Speaker 2: We had Emily who was upset with her in laws
- 17:29Speaker 2: because she married into a family where potlucks are a thing.
- 17:33Speaker 2: But every time she brought a dish to the potluck,
- 17:35Speaker 2: they never ate it.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Ever, it would always end up in the trash.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Not even if there was a fight.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Yeah, there was a fire.
- 17:44Speaker 2: And so she decided to just stop bringing things all together.
- 17:47Speaker 2: But then her in laws reached out to her husband.
- 17:50Speaker 2: They're like, hey, how come she never brings anything.
- 17:52Speaker 5: To the potluck anymore? We always ate her stuff.
- 17:55Speaker 2: And so she feels like she's gas lit and she
- 17:57Speaker 2: needs to know she's the problem now that she stopped
- 18:00Speaker 2: bringing anything.
- 18:01Speaker 1: And there are quite a few kind of both sides
- 18:05Speaker 1: here comments like Leanna, she said, if they're not eating
- 18:08Speaker 1: what you make, why waste your time. If it were me,
- 18:10Speaker 1: I would just bring chips or a veggie tray and
- 18:13Speaker 1: be done with it, which is actually very I think
- 18:16Speaker 1: realistic advice. Yeah, it's off with something that takes zero effort,
- 18:20Speaker 1: and if they eat it, they eat it. If they don't,
- 18:21Speaker 1: you didn't waste time making it.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I would just be kind of mad wasting money on
- 18:25Speaker 2: it for it to never be eaten. I would be
- 18:28Speaker 2: so annoyed. You could take it home and you know,
- 18:32Speaker 2: oh yeah, actually, Emily, why don't you just only bring
- 18:37Speaker 2: things that you want to eat and then you eat them.
- 18:40Speaker 2: That's what I do with the pot luck, not because
- 18:42Speaker 2: I can't cook, but that's because nobody's vegan, so I just.
- 18:46Speaker 5: Bring a vegan thing.
- 18:47Speaker 4: Sarah also chimed in.
- 18:48Speaker 1: She said she tried multiple times, she changed recipes and
- 18:51Speaker 1: still watched her food go untouched at some point. Stopping
- 18:55Speaker 1: is just practical.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Not rude.
- 18:56Speaker 1: You can't expect someone to keep bringing food that no
- 18:59Speaker 1: one eats. I think that's that's very fair. But there
- 19:03Speaker 1: is someone saying Emily might be overreacting. This is Rachel,
- 19:07Speaker 1: she said, and we didn't think of this. It's possible
- 19:10Speaker 1: people were eating small portions, or maybe they were eating
- 19:13Speaker 1: it later, and she just didn't notice, stopping without having
- 19:17Speaker 1: a direct conversation may have turned a misunderstanding into this
- 19:21Speaker 1: family conflict. So yeah, maybe people were just you know,
- 19:24Speaker 1: doing the old uh double finger dip ewwa like you
- 19:28Speaker 1: do at.
- 19:29Speaker 4: The wedding cake. You know what I'm saying.
- 19:30Speaker 5: That's so rude to do to someone's wedding.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I do not relate to this song because I am
- 19:42Speaker 2: not a survivor. Gabe, do you have survival skills? Seven
- 19:47Speaker 2: on one two, eight on one, nine eighty seven? Do you
- 19:49Speaker 2: have survival skills? I was on the plane on the
- 19:52Speaker 2: way back from Vegas yesterday and I'm watching the safety video,
- 19:59Speaker 2: and they get they tell you all the things like
- 20:01Speaker 2: in the event that whatever cabin pressure, the masks will
- 20:04Speaker 2: come down. If in the unlikely event of a water evacuation,
- 20:10Speaker 2: there's the inflatable slide. If you're wearing high heels, take
- 20:14Speaker 2: off the high heels before you go down the slide
- 20:18Speaker 2: so you don't damage the slide.
- 20:20Speaker 5: You know, I'm watching all.
- 20:20Speaker 4: These things, I've never heard that.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I'd never heard that either, So somewhere there was an
- 20:25Speaker 2: incident in there, like we gotta throw this in the
- 20:27Speaker 2: safety video.
- 20:28Speaker 4: It definitely makes sense.
- 20:29Speaker 5: It does make sense because you're gonna puncture. You don't
- 20:32Speaker 5: want to do that.
- 20:33Speaker 2: But it had me thinking realistically, in the event that
- 20:37Speaker 2: there was some sort of a landing that was an
- 20:39Speaker 2: emergency thing, after we safely get off the plane, if
- 20:44Speaker 2: we all do, my odds of survival are low to
- 20:50Speaker 2: like none. I just don't have any survival skills. I
- 20:54Speaker 2: think I just go into I'm not you know how
- 20:56Speaker 2: it's fight or flight.
- 20:58Speaker 5: I'm neither.
- 20:59Speaker 4: I'm just freeze sure, yeah, panic, Yeah.
- 21:01Speaker 5: I'm just panic and then nothing. I don't have. I
- 21:04Speaker 5: can't think of a single skill I have.
- 21:08Speaker 1: It probably build some kind of shelter with some sticks
- 21:11Speaker 1: and leaves. No, probably could.
- 21:13Speaker 5: I can't even make lego set right.
- 21:17Speaker 1: If you were in like a yellow Jacket scenario.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Have you seen that show?
- 21:21Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I love that show, and I always
- 21:23Speaker 2: think I would have been died.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Angie's the first one.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, even if I survived the crash, I'd be like,
- 21:29Speaker 2: someone kill me really fast.
- 21:30Speaker 1: All right, Well, do you have any survival skills? Let
- 21:33Speaker 1: us know this morning at seven oh one two eight
- 21:35Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven, Jason, what about you?
- 21:38Speaker 7: I know how to build a shelter in the woods
- 21:39Speaker 7: if I have to take a little bit of time,
- 21:41Speaker 7: but yeah, I could get it done.
- 21:43Speaker 1: If I had to forge for food, I'd probably be.
- 21:45Speaker 7: In a bit of trouble.
- 21:46Speaker 4: I don't know what's edible out there.
- 21:48Speaker 7: I'd probably eat some poison in about ten minutes.
- 21:51Speaker 2: I can't see that too, especially as a vegan like
- 21:55Speaker 2: I would be.
- 21:56Speaker 5: So stressed out.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Well, you'd be really used to eating bark, right, Yeah.
- 22:04Speaker 5: I need some good.
- 22:07Speaker 6: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 22:11Speaker 6: good News. On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 22:15Speaker 1: A seventy one year old moreheaded woman named Vicky Coderba
- 22:19Speaker 1: is preparing for a bucket list trip to Antarctica, one
- 22:24Speaker 1: of the few places left on her list after years
- 22:27Speaker 1: of traveling the world. She was inspired by stories from
- 22:32Speaker 1: the explorer Ernest Shackleton, and she's long dreamed of visiting
- 22:36Speaker 1: all seven continents. Antarctica will be her sixth.
- 22:40Speaker 7: I've just had it on my bucket list in the background,
- 22:43Speaker 7: you know, just kind of thinking, someday I want to
- 22:45Speaker 7: go to all seven continents.
- 22:47Speaker 5: This is number six.
- 22:49Speaker 1: She and her son are taking part in a Smithsonian
- 22:52Speaker 1: sponsored educational expedition, spending thirteen days on the icy continent
- 22:57Speaker 1: attending seminars and exploring its wildlife, which includes penguins, whales,
- 23:02Speaker 1: unique ice formations. The journey begins with travel to the
- 23:07Speaker 1: tip of South America before heading by ship to Antarctica,
- 23:11Speaker 1: where it is currently summer.
- 23:13Speaker 4: What would I have to do to get you to Antarctica, Angie.
- 23:16Speaker 5: You already got me to Fargo. Gabe.
- 23:18Speaker 2: I don't know, but that's incredible for this woman. The
- 23:23Speaker 2: penguins alone is the draw.
- 23:26Speaker 5: I think.
- 23:27Speaker 1: There you go. The world is full of nice people.
- 23:29Speaker 1: If you can't find one, you gotta be one.
