- 0:01Just as there is a debate between science and religion,
- 0:05there is a corollary argument that encompasses aspiration
- 0:10versus prayer. Aspiration for growth
- 0:14development, knowledge progress, expansion is acceptable to those
- 0:21in the science camp. Prayer is relegated by these
- 0:25individuals to the religion Camp.
- 0:28Similarly, those who believe ardently in the power of prayer.
- 0:33Do not fully believe in the efficacy of an inner
- 0:36aspirational own. The relation of these two
- 0:40Powers. However, is not so simply
- 0:43delineated, nor can either one be dismissed.
- 0:47Out of hand. They can indeed complement one
- 0:51another. For those who do not believe in
- 0:55any greater being in the universe, of course, prayer does
- 0:58not factor into the equation. For those already accepting such
- 1:02a greater being Creator or God prayer is central for the vast
- 1:08majority of people, however, who are somewhere between these two
- 1:12extremes. Another Viewpoint can harmonize
- 1:15them aspiration can be seen as the directing force and impetus
- 1:22for the growth and development of the individuals powers and
- 1:26the expansion of the individuals basis of knowledge.
- 1:30Prayer can be seen as the outer body providing concrete form in
- 1:34the external existence to what the aspiration is developing
- 1:39inwardly. The artist, the writer, the
- 1:43composer all developed their Concepts inwardly, but Express
- 1:48them in the world to impact others and have their influence
- 1:53in the world through the outer form, they give to these
- 1:56Concepts. Similarly prayer provides such
- 2:01an outer framework to embody the aspiration and bring it to life
- 2:06in the world. The mother notes quote.
- 2:11So the more intellectual people admit aspiration and say, that
- 2:15prayer is something inferior. The mystics tell you, that
- 2:19aspiration is all very well, but if you want to be really heard
- 2:23and want the Divine to listen to you, you must pray and pray with
- 2:28the Simplicity of a child, a perfect Candor, that is a
- 2:33perfect Trust. I need this or that whether it
- 2:37be a moral need, or a physical, or material need.
- 2:41Well, I asked you for it. Give it to me to Aspire.
- 2:45It is not necessary to direct the aspiration to someone
- 2:49towards. Someone one has an aspiration
- 2:53for a certain state of being, for knowledge for a realization
- 2:58that State of Consciousness, one aspires for something, but it is
- 3:03not necessarily A Prayer. Prayer is something additional
