Just to give everybody a little heads up what's going on. ⁓ sorry we missed Thursday's episode, but with going back to school and some of the other stuff that was going on last week, it was just a little bit too hectic. ⁓ sometimes adulting catching up with you. Yeah. And we just physically couldn't get in the same room and do it. So hopefully that won't be an issue going forward once we get back into a regular scheduled routine. At least for me, 'cause now my summer's over. And back to our register schedule. Now, with that being said, ⁓ we're gonna give you a heads up of what's coming up because we are gonna be making that jump to video very shortly. Yeah. this episode will be episode 45. ⁓ we're gonna go to fifty audio wise, and then say goodbye to audio and just do video stuff. ⁓ you'll still be able to catch us on Spotify, Apple, but you'll be able to find us on ⁓ YouTube. We're gonna start create a YouTube channel. ⁓ we're probably gonna start a TikTok. ⁓ Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Account. We're gonna really start pushing this thing once we go to video. ⁓ so the next three episodes after today, we'll you know, do some topics and stuff. Maybe we'll see if we can get a guest in here. Episode 49 will be a review of episodes one through 30 as we take a look back at this journey so far. And then our 50th will be episodes 30 through 50. We'll do a quick ⁓ look back on it. We'll catch up on some mailbox stuff, mailbag stuff. ⁓ it's getting pretty full, but. Yeah, we just I just didn't have chance to get to it today. ⁓ and of course if you want to drop us a line it's team porkroll two five at gmail. And then we'll be making the jump to video. Indeed. Where you'll finally get to see the ugly mugs behind these voices. Herbie: That was great, man. Shamus: How was your week, Herb? Catch us up on what's going on in your world since our last episode. Herbie: Well, you know, of course made some more Amazon purchases because I was ⁓ I was getting into like trying to do the ⁓ closing out the summer summer lake time. So what I did was I got a order for some ⁓ remote remote control ⁓ speed boats. Okay. And ⁓ some other like stuff for the kayak and everything 'cause Herbie still likes going doing the lake stuff. And ⁓ what I did was unfortunately I came across a problem where ⁓ I was delivered the wrong The wrong product. Actually a wrong product and the wrong color speed boat. So I ⁓ I'm that petty because like the the the speed boat that I received was this highlighter green one and of course Herbie wanted the cool Darth Mole looking red and black one. So ⁓ yeah, definitely. So like when I had like the ⁓ Shamus: Well you should get what you pay what what you want and what you paid for. It's not being Yeah. Herbie: the ⁓ the alerts about like it's being delivered. I was at work. So of course I was all hyped up because you know Herbie likes to go on the lake with his kayak. ⁓ no doubt. And he's gonna sit there and was like I had an idea. Like I combined both and just go on the kayak and ⁓ mess with the ⁓ remote control speedboat because those things can actually cook. ⁓ so when I got telling everyone at work what I'm gonna do because everybody knows about my little dumb Herbie adventures and my ⁓ battle entanglements with beavers on the lake. ⁓ They, you know, they all voted like, ⁓ yeah, it's gonna be cool, let us know. And then of course the next day when I found out that I got this the wrong color speed boat, I was very upset. And there was this huge box also next to it that I didn't order. I ordered a kayak seat and it's like the box is the size of like a like a midget's coffin, dude. It's just huge. And and I opened it up and it's like these stands for like these hanging tree lights. So it was my name, my address and everything, wrong product. And this thing is like freaking humongous. So ⁓ I'm still waiting for UPS to pick that thing up. There's no way I'm taking that back to the UPS delivery store up to ⁓ place. So of course while I was doing that, I actually had to return the ⁓ the green speedboat because I really didn't want it. And ⁓ I had ⁓ like a couple of days before my day off where I wanted to plan the Herbie day of being on the lake and Doing the speedboat thing. So when I did that, returned it, and then I got it d you know, the new speedboat, like maybe like a day or so later, and maybe the day before I was gonna have my Herbie Adventure at the lake, it was delivered, so I was all hyped up. And of course it was delivered before I got to work. And I got home and ⁓ opened up the box and boom, baby, it was another green goddamn freaking speedboat. So I was like, ⁓ whatever. So what I did was ⁓ instead of me I I wrote actually update with this too because after that I decided to keep it, but I got an email about like, you know, what do you think about the delivery and all that stuff. And I wrote a scathing bed ⁓ with a lot of expletives and stuff like that on my review and product about like, you know, me getting the same product twice in a row. So that kind of pissed me off. So today, this is this happened a couple of days ago. Today I got a a thing of Amazon saying we can't really post that your comment. You might have you have to edit it before we can, you know, submit and ⁓ like, you know, the with the with the review. So when I when I got that, ⁓ I ordered another speed boat from another company and a little cheaper and stuff like that. And it was it's a red one. So what I did was when I got the speed boat, it was my day off and of course I did the Herbie thing where I got my crappy radio that floats on the water, got the kayak. Got my Wawa sandwich, got the whole thing together, got the speed boat together, and ⁓ I put new batteries in everything. The boat works. Get in the kayak and it was a hot day. So I'm out there and I'm f you know, plugging everything in and I put it in the water and nothing. So I was just like sitting on the lake for like twenty, thirty minutes, just going through a Tourette's ⁓ fit of just cursing and everything. And double check the batteries and then ⁓ Put in another set of batteries. And then by this time I was just really mad. So I just I stormed home. I didn't really go on the lake for a while because it was hot as balls anyway. So went in, took a shower, read the instructions again, switched out the batteries again, and then sure enough the frickin' thing works. Cause the the originally the other the original speedboat that I had a long time ago is the boat wouldn't activate unless you throw it in the water. So that's what I thought when I tested out at home that it wasn't working, but I guess it was just the batteries. Even though the battery reader said that those batteries that I put in previously were working. So this one works. I'm off tomorrow, so I'm gonna try to reenact the Herbie Kayak in ⁓ Speedboat Day. Shamus: Okay. Yeah, ⁓ like I said, school started for us last week. ⁓ so me being me, I took every opportunity to walk every inch of that school, start putting names with faces, learning all the, you know, critical information I need to know as school security. ⁓ come to find out, the Mr. Buttcrack moniker ⁓ moniker has made its way to our new school because real quick story. I'm standing outside for student arrival in the morning with one of the nine assistant principals that have a this giant high school I work at now. Yeah. and we're talking and you know, he asked me where I was the year before and I told him where I was, which is a school right up the street. Yeah. And he goes, ⁓ my kids, you know, they go there. They they start tomorrow or they start today. I said, ⁓ okay. So the next morning, same spot. Same time this guy comes out and he's just giving me this weird look. So I'm like, start thinking, all right, bud. And he was like, You said you worked at Tabernacle last year. And I was like, Yeah. And he's looking at just like, You can ask, dude. It's me. And he was like, You're Mr. Buttcrack. And I was like, Yeah, man. And he was just goes. I knew he already said he had kids. I just didn't know how old they were. ⁓ he said he went home the day before, like our for ⁓ our second day wouldn't have been their first day. So he said when he went home that night Herbie: Ha ha. Shamus: You know, of course he asked the kids at dinner, like, How was your first day of school? And they're like, It was okay. And he was like, They they seem like real I s and come to find out they were in second and third grade. Yeah. So he was like, What's wrong? Like and they were just like, Man, our security guard's not there anyway. Mr. Butcrack left and he's like, Who d what? And he was like, You know, Mr. Butcrack, our security guard, no longer works with us and you know, he was so cool and he was the man and stuff, and he was like So now his wheels are grinding. He was like, the dude at our school said he worked. So when he came in, he was just kinda I was like, Yeah, it's me, bro. I'll I am butt crack. Herbie: So ⁓ Shamus: He starts laughing. He was like, dude, my kids are so fucking depressed that you're not there. Blah blah blah. ⁓ So now like there's three or four other teachers listening to this conversation, they're like, What the f what are you guys talking about? So he explains to these teachers like his kids are so depressed that I'm not there. Yeah. Because, you know, I had this moniker, I'm Mr. Buttcracking, like all the kids love me. So he goes, I need to take a selfie with you. So I was like, what? And he goes, my kids are never gonna believe that you're at our school now. Like I work with Mr. Buckcrack. I was like, holy shit, this is my first celebrity. Yeah. Like that's my alter ego, like my superhero thing. So I took like this big selfie with a stuff. He said he went home that the next day he came in. He's like, I should I told my kids, I was like, rest assured you're safe. Mr. Buckcrack's right down the street. And they're like, what are you talking about? And he's like, he works with me now. And they're no, he doesn't. And he whipped out that picture and they were like He said that it went banana. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: They he said they were so happy. They like, We can't wait for, you know, take your kids to work day so we can see Mr. Buttcrack. So that was hard. I I I felt ⁓ i it may it gives you that warm feeling inside the kids love you that much. Sweet. ⁓ and then the next day I went to D ⁓ V and almost had to choke a couple of people out. But Really? Yeah, yeah. I don't wanna get too deep into that. But yeah, I don't know what happened to customer service in this thing. That and ⁓ well a bunch of Herbie: Tell me. Shamus: And listen, I'm in that category 'cause I'm prior law enforcement, network security, but some people still think Like when you were cop in the nineties, that's not how it works, old timer. Like just cause you have a gun in your security at D ⁓ V doesn't mean you could be pushing these people around and bullying them and stuff. I had to step in and de-escalate some stuff because there was like three of them get ready to lynch this poor little skinny dude. Really? Yeah. He dropped his wife's debit card coming in. Right. So when he made it through all the the stuff and then he went to go pay for everything, he couldn't find a debit card. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Once he got to where they were like, Okay, this is what you owe us, he went to reach for the card, couldn't find it. Yeah. So he's when I pulled up and was w I seen him looking through the parking lot. So I was like, I must have dropped his wallet or something like that. So as I'm walking in, I'm looking too, but yeah. So he comes back in and he was like, Did anybody turn a debit card in? And the guy at the front was like, Yeah, we'll get the manager for you. She's got it. So the manager comes up and she was just like, ⁓ and he already had his wife on Skype on his phone. Right. With her ID. And he was like, It's my wife's card, and he holds it up and manager was just and I kind of get it. She was like, Yeah, that could be anybody, you know what I mean? Like she's got to physically come down here and get it. And he was just like, Are you kidding me? She's at work. I got a babysitter for the kids. This needs to be done today. So now the security guards are coming over and they're giving him a bunch of shit as he's trying to talk to her. Yeah. And they're escalating it. Like, sir, you're listening when I talk to you and but so like I got up 'cause I was standing right there. So I walked over and I was like, listen, give me and like when the security guards they gave me a look and I'm like, easy. I'm retired, law enforcement. Like, back the fuck up. I might have a solution. So, like I asked the lady, I'm you guys have surveillance cameras? Yeah. I said, Why don't you just look at the surveillance camera when he walks in? If something falls out of his pocket, you know it's him. Yeah. It's that easy. Well, we don't control the cameras here. ⁓ everything goes to Trenton. And I'm like, Huh. Which is kind of true for banks. Yeah. ⁓ you know, if somebody knocks off the bank up on Stokes Road, yeah, the video footage goes to their headquarters wherever it's at. So But like a D and V, so I was just like, So if West Denford police pull up and they need to see a surveillance video right away, they have to call she was like, Yeah, I'm like, that is the dumbest shit ever. Herbie: No, the delay in lag time and that is ridiculous. Shamus: So I turned around, I look, bud, I'm sorry, I'd try to help you out. So like I walked around and the the security guard said something like, Yeah, if we need your help, we'd ask for it. And I was just kind of like, now I stop. So I turned around, I was like, real quick, how much is this? And he goes, I think it's like twenty-five hours. I said, Come on, where's your stuff at? And and the security guard's like, Yeah, he can go get his stuff and get out of here. So now he turns around, he's like, Fuck you. And I was like, ⁓ I said, Come on, let's let's walk over here. So we walk over to the counter and lady's like, she has no idea because that place is pretty big. So she's like, is everything like okay? Are we ready? And I was just like, just out of curiosity, how much is it? And he's like, it's 2650. So I was like, I whip out my card and throw it. And the guy was like, What are you doing? And I was like, just Venmo me 2650. Yeah. And then she can come back and get the card whenever. And then you could take a cause I think it was for like his registration or something. I he needed it right then and there. I said, just vendo it. So he's like, Are you serious? I'm like, Yeah. So he he venmoed me, I paid for it. When I threw cause she was like ⁓ I need to see your ID. Like, I need to see your ID for your card. So I gave her the idea. And the security guard walks over. I need to see that ID when you're done, ma'am. And I was like, absolutely not. And he was like, What? And I was you don't need to see my ID. What fuck you need to see your ID for? And he was just like, Well, I need to know you don't need to know nothing. So I told her, I'm like, Absolutely not. I get my ID back. He doesn't need to see it for shit. So I paid for it. The guy thanked me and stuff. Now he as he's walking out the door. Like he's now he's like, Yeah, fuck you guys. So I just sat down. So the guy comes over and is like, You're not gonna give me your ID? And I'm like, Bro, you work for Allied Security. Yeah. If you were PD, I said, What township is this? West and he was like, Yeah, I was like, If you were West Epper P D, you could have my goddamn ID. Yeah. I would never tell a cop, No, I'm not giving you my ID, because I think those people are retarded. Yeah. It is the dumbest shit you could do. So he was just like Well, I guess we'll just have to call them to see how they feel about it. I was like, call them if you want. I ain't going nowhere. Cause apparently when I walked in the door after the fucking guy at the window threw my ID and I wanted to choke him right from here. I was like R thirteen or something on the list and I was already there an hour and they only went five people. So they were s no, I was R sixty three and they were on R thirteen and and now they're like on R twenty four. I'm gonna be here fucking I felt like Beetlejuice when he got that vegan number. Herbie: Nice. I was like now serving number. Shamus: So he walked away, the other guy comes over and he's like, ⁓ he said something like, Really? You're that's how professional you are, you're retired law enforcement, and you won't fucking. And I was like, listen, bro, you need to walk. I was like, cause they they're not paying either three guys enough to deal with, I'm about to fuck. I'm thinking in my head, I'm gonna fuck like I'm already picturing, hit this dude, the other guy comes running over, throw this chair at this guy, jump up on the counter. Like, I'm like, listen, they don't and I just told him, I said, they don't pay you enough to deal with with me, bro. Herbie: Yeah. D the second guy. Shamus: Way too old and I just came off the job. This is what I do for a living. Yeah. Get the fuck away from me. So he walks away and then I see the other guy come back after like five minutes. So now I'm like, I need to leave. Because I'm gonna lose my job. I'm gonna end up in jail. Like I'm starting to fume now because now I'm waiting. People are kind of just meandering around. And like so I got up to leave, and the guy was just like and I walked over to him, I Yo, did you call the police? And he was like, Well, we decided against I said, Good, because I'm gonna leave. If you were gonna call the police, I was gonna wait, but I'm gonna leave. So I threw the ticket at them and I was like, I ain't dealing with this shit. In the meantime, I talked to a friend, I gotta wrap this up. This is getting out of hand. as I was waiting for them to call the police, ⁓ I text a friend of mine who works at another DMV and she was like, I'll make a phone call. So she called the manager, the lady with the debit card. Yeah. ⁓ she saw me throw the thing like the sticker at the dude. Yeah. I'm walking out the door, she comes running out, she's like, Sir, sir, sir. You know what's going on and blah, blah, blah. And I explained to them, those guys are way unprofessional. Yeah. You need to tell Ally to send you three more guys 'cause those guys are a bunch of fucking yam bags. Yeah. And then she was like, Well, what are you here for? And I Listen, I want to turn my tags in for my truck that blew up because they sent me a thing saying if I don't turn my tags back in, they're gonna suspend my driving privileges. Yeah. I said I went to Medford, I turned my tags in, but they said I had to come here to find lives of paperwork. But I said, on the back of this letter, it says I can do this through the mail after I turn the tags in. The lady at Medford told me no, I had to come here. So she looks at the letter and literally goes, ⁓ yeah, once you have the receipt for your tags, you can just mail this shit in. ⁓ fuck her mail. She's like, but I'll handle it for you right now. I said, I'm not going back in that building. I said, I'm gonna burn this place the fuck up. Yeah. I gotta go. So I got my car put on some, you know, CRISPR Cross, some yacht rock, just to calm down. Man, I haven't been that worked up in a Herbie: Say so basically like yours could have been completely avoided ⁓ by just like the lady reading the back of your and the knowing her job. And that that's that's that sucks because you really spent like the whole day. Bare enough, you know, especially for all you listeners, you even mentioned DMV. That's just like, you know, it's like the cable company when they say Shamus: Absolutely. They're usually pretty good now. ⁓ up until COVID. Yeah, well. Like they were like you're in and out of those places, but when you go to the regional centers now, it's like the DMV of the nineties and the eighties when you have to take a whole day off. Herbie: Yeah, but like w especially now I think what they do is for certain things you need done at the DMV, you gotta go to specific DMV stuff. Which is hard. Shamus: And that's what because of the regional ones because she was like, Your is your privileges suspended? ⁓ the lady at Medford. Yeah. And I'm like they sent me a thing saying I got until like September twenty ninth. It says I can mail it in. No no no, you gotta go handle this there. So yeah, I just I don't know. I it was just Herbie: But see, and also like that's something I it does it I don't blame it. But see something like that too is like you might want to actually let them know so they don't make that same mistake for someone else. Cause basically you you had to go de escalate a situation, you paid for a complete stranger's stuff, and you still getting didn't get your shit done. Shamus: I just fucking hate people, man. Well I mailed it in the I came home that night, put it all in the envelope. Herbie: Technically you didn't have to go to frickin' West Defford. Like I I you know it's funny too 'cause like when I came back to work this morning, we talked about this before and I mentioned it. And other people been to that West Efford thing and they're like, Yeah, that place is a shithole. Shamus: Yeah, it's ⁓ and like I said, it doesn't help when you have three retired like they had to be in like their late sixties, early seventies and still think they can do the job. Yeah. ⁓ you're there like the one guy he went to reach for his fucking like 'cause I'm sitting in the front row. Yeah. And when the guy was like, Listen, I'm talking to the manager, I'm not fucking talking to you and when he went to point at him, the dude like took a step back and grabbed his sidearm. Really? And I was like Now I look around, there's like little kids running around. It's just like the DMV of old. Like mom's gotta take the kid. So there's like little kids run. I'm like, somebody this guy might possibly shoot this dude in front of kids. And if a struggle ensues, like this guy's gung goes, a kid can get shot. I'm like, man, I let me get up. So I got up and walked over and I was just like, dude. I I just can't understand how people are that unprofessional. Yeah. Like if you used to be a comp and all that stuff like that, like you know what the deal is, especially. In today's climate, like you have to be a little bit more like, come on, man. Yeah. Like customer service and people just don't know how to be professional anymore. All three of them did. They were all like bro I'm like Herbie: He went right from Yeah, security and a D ⁓ V to actually ⁓ be in Doc Holiday in Tombstone. Shamus: So I was just kinda like, man. And I felt bad. I told my other friend, I said, If is I said that lady your friend? She goes, Yeah. I said, Tell her I didn't mean to freak out on her. It's and it wasn't any individual person besides them three security guards. Like the people that work at D ⁓ V, you have to deal with people that are assholes most of the time. So I get it, because nobody wants to be there. But yeah, I was just kinda like, Tell your friend I apologize if I and she was like, No, she you were fine. Like she can understand your Yeah. But like them three dudes, man, them three security guards. I was like, Man And that's why Herbie: You never know. Shamus: We get a bad name. Whether you're retired law enforcement or regular law enforcement, that's why we get a bad name. Yeah. So but other than that, man, my week was pretty good. But because of your circumstances and my circumstances, we're gonna talk about customer service. Dude, yeah. The good, the bad, and the ugly of it. Herbie: Ha ha ha. Why my ⁓ my circumstance is shit. You almost got aired out, man. De escalate a possible Shamus: I mean, I'm at that age now where I'm like, Yeah, if something were to happen, it is what it is. I got f I got forty nine years out of it. But like some eight year old or six year old running around. It's like I said, God forbid. 'Cause they're the ones that usually get hit. Yeah. So I was just like, man. But Herbie: No, customer service isn't easy, man. But you know, there is there is that preconceived notion, like even people that are customers to go to the DMV, that's like no one wants to do that stuff, man. Shamus: Just know your job. I don't care what you're doing. If you're a DM like in your circumstance, that big package that got dropped off your ass has your name and address on it, right? Right. So it's not the driver and the guy who loads the truck's fault because okay, this is going to Herbie. And it's got his address on it. So they put so it might have been the guy who's working the packing line. Yeah. Or maybe it was just a computer system got fucked up that day and like six hundred packages went out to different people. Yeah. ⁓ but like people who work like behind counters. Yeah. Or, you know, when we had a problem earlier this year and ⁓ it's on our Facebook and our Instagram where I put, you know, temporarily technical difficulties who stand by. When I contacted the people who and big shout out to Riverside.com. It's not the town I grew up in. It's actually the software company that puts our show out. They were all over it, dude. They're like, okay, we think we found the problem, da da da, let us know. I didn't even I think I put one show up and within two hours after that. Herbie: ⁓ technical difficulty. Yeah. Shamus: How did it go? What else can we do for you? That and I was like, man, this is amazing like I haven't seen this kind of response in a long time. ⁓ so those guys know and care about what they're doing and their customers and stuff like that. But like when I show you a letter that says, Hey, I it says I can mail this in, right? And I'm asking you because you're supposed to be the professional. You're the person that works here and they're Yeah, and it and I I don't want to sound like a racist or anything like that, but it was just I do not know. You know, that kind of you know, I don't know if she was Somali or, you know, third world country kind of thing, but she was like, And I was just kinda like, you fucking and then go down there and deal with that. And yeah. So if you know your like I said, that first week at school, I walked every hallway, I found out where every emergency exit was, the fire extinguishers, the pull boxes for the fire alarm, ⁓ the egress routes in and out of the school property, driveways, stuff like that, where the fire department posts up when they show up for a fire call, dah da. You know, ⁓ there's two floors. So there's an escape hatch on the second floor, there's a ladder. I try to learn everybody everything about that school to make sure those kids and staff are as safe as I could possibly be as I get up to speed on ship. Some people just don't do that anymore, man. Herbie: Yeah, yeah. I mean there's some people that just, you know, on autopilot when they're at jobs and stuff. Shamus: ⁓ I get it. You can do that like if you have a bad day or if you're, you know, you have a cold and you're in school or something like that. Like, but man, come on. Well Herbie: Because you know, sometimes with like certain jobs like that, a mistake can actually affect the customer's outcome and output and everything. You know, it's just it's the whole thing. Your whole day got ruined, dude. I mean, technically my Herbie day off of the lake got ruined, but I could have made the most of it. But y ⁓ I I really shouldn't even be complaining about mine, granted though, the ⁓ the coffin ⁓ package is still sitting on on my front doorstep for the past couple days. Man Shamus: ⁓ no. Okay. Yeah, you have to keep this posted and see if they pick it up after the house. Herbie: It was like one one attempt and I think there's you know, they have three attempts, so the the I was it it wasn't out there yet. ⁓ Shamus: What well what happened with the first attempt? ⁓ they'd stopped buying it, wasn't there? Yeah. Okay, they'll be by after the house. Herbie: Wasn't sure. I was like, I think it was like I put it in the thing, you know, and then I guess the next day they they came by or something. So then when I saw that, I used that sticker to like, you know, put the ⁓ barcode that they would need to able to do the pickup and I put it on the box and I had it facing out so this way as soon as you pull up to the house, you can see that package and the the ⁓ the barcode. But ⁓ yeah man, customer service is some bitch. You know what's another thing too, but I would hate to actually have that job at Walmart at the customer service desk. Cause you know you got every every other weirdo coming in there and they're like, I want to return this for cash. And like, sir, we don't sell this product. This fans from like thirty years ago. Shamus: Yeah I ⁓ I just hate the smell of every Walmart when you walk in. Everyone smells the same. Not the one up the street though, because that's like the rich people. It's kind of hidden in the woods, the one up off off of ⁓ 70. Yeah. But Yeah, the ones in the one in Cinnamon's disgusting. The one in what's that, Lumberton? Yeah. And that one's fucking Herbie: Yeah, almost like a WD forty and a little bit of crock potty super. Shamus: Yeah. And a couple broken dreams kind of fucking sprinkled in there. Everytime that and ⁓ seven elevens. Seven elevens all have that same smell to it too. Like even the one up on Stokes Road. ⁓ the one in Delanco, like ⁓ Yeah, it's just kinda like I didn't guys sell air fresheners, just fucking take Herbie: Yeah. There are some there. Put them take ⁓ out the package. ⁓ Shamus: Just market is broke on your inventory. Just open that shit up. Herbie: Like no, it's it's just filling up a shelf space though. It's been sitting there for Shamus: And it doesn't matter. You could just walk in there and be like, shit, I forgot my wallet. And like be in there for five seconds. And when you go back to your car, you lean in, you can smell the shit on you already. It's like it just ⁓ it just sticks. And you go home later that day and you're getting a shower and it's like that firewood smoke like in your hair. Like you just that seven eleven shit. I can imagine working there, dude. It's like Herbie: It's like Dank patchouli and disappointment. ⁓ Shamus: Fucking crazy. ⁓ I'll tell you who's got ⁓ awesome customer services, the Evergreen Dairy Barn man. ⁓ yeah. Those girls are most ice cream places are like them bubbly high school college girls home for the Herbie: Happen they know what they're doing and stuff, you know what I mean? There's I mean there are some jobs that are just like difficult to deal with people. And there's also ones of just people just trying to be just real shitty or just you know, especially like people trying to return stuff that you know, no right to even get the money or anything like that. It's just like little scams and all that crap. So I I can understand how customer services, you know, feel That their souls being sucked out of their faces. It just has that energy and they can start hating people too. Shamus: Well, I just don't understand where society just Like I'm always that guy, whether I'm having a shitty day or not. Like when I walk into a DMV or wherever, I'm like, Hey, how you doing today? You know, I always hey sir, hey ma'am, you know, that kind of deal. How we doing today? Like even at the high school or wherever I'm working or da da day, how you doing today? Like I and in my mind I know I got a whole bunch of shit going on in my house like in my personal life and I'm just miserable, but I'm like, Hey, how you doing? Or like if I need something from you, like if I walk into your store or customer service, I'm like, Hey, how you doing today? Hey, ⁓ can you give me a minute? Take your time, sir. I'm in no rush. You know, that kind of deal. I don't understand why because it it it works both ways. Yeah. The customer service people should be nice, but the people like you need that person to help you out. Yeah. And I'm not saying you have to kiss their ass or anything like that, but like I don't know why society just feels like we have to treat each other like shit when it comes to like you see all them videos of fucking people freaking out of McDonald's because they didn't put the small french fries in with the happy meal. Herbie: It's like no pressure. Shamus: And food starts getting thrown and people are fighting and you're just kinda Yeah. And you're just like, Bro, it's a fucking happy like what are we doing? Yeah. Like calm down. Yeah. It's it's it's just a shame where we're at as a society when it comes to that kind of thing. Herbie: like those videos I think there's probably getting monetized for people doing stuff like that. You know, it could be like either setups or just other people filming that and someone says, ⁓ man, look look look at me look at my what I did, man. How how how how how crazy that was. It almost seems like even now too, the way people treat each other is that they know that they can talk to you like crap because they it almost seems like they're getting more results from that instead of being nice. So it almost seems like the it's like a culture change of, you know You could be mean and kind of ignorant and and just sarcastic and get more from that because the companies themselves, if they see that so like a customer's dissatisfied, they then they go over the top to like please and kiss their ass and they get more results. ⁓ no doubt. So I think that's probably a lot of times people just do that anyway, because they they say if I throw an attitude at this business, they're gonna give me whatever I want. Shamus: Well that's another thing. Then you got the people. I can't stand this. You got the people who are watching this unfold and they all whip out their phones and start recording. Yeah. I could have did that at the DMV and that shit would have got way out of hand. Yeah. And they would have been like, get up, walk over, and just be like, yo, let cooler heads prevail. Yeah. You know, that kind of deal. ⁓ obviously being retired in law enforcement, I have the ability to go, listen, I used to be on the job and and can relate to the three idiots that were doing it. ⁓ put the cat like when you see Two people getting ready to fight over something stupid and stuff. I'm not saying jump in the middle because most of the time the third person gets punched. Just walk over and be yo guys, is this really where like Yeah. That kind of I mean, situation dictates. If it's an angry mob and you're getting ready to go, I'm not saying go over there and be like, wait, we should all love each other. Cool. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: If you think it's starting to escalate and you can catch it before it turns into a full blown riot, just walk over. Herbie: I I think some people don't even have like, you know, that the skills to be able to de escalate. So you got like most of the people are just like, Ho ho ho, this is gonna be a great reel on TikTok, you know? Shamus: What it is. ⁓ I need as many likes and views as I can possibly get. Yo, just go over there and be like, yo. Yeah. I did I've I've been doing that at the school. Like two guys are getting ready right out in front of the the first school I ever worked at. They're getting ready to go. Their kids are in the car. Apparently the one girl was bullying the other girl. Yeah. And she was like, Yeah, that's them behind us. So do gets out of the car. Now bus pickups going on behind me and there's traffic out on the main road. Right. ⁓ cruiser road. ⁓ yeah? Yeah. Up in Hamilton. So They were getting ready to go, but there was construction at the light. So like traffic's all backed up. So every school bus is within a five foot radius of these two idiots getting ready to go. Yeah. So I'm talking to the one crossing guard and I see like all the kids leaning out of the school bus, like, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm like, and it's a good twenty five yards down the road. So I'm just like, let me go see what the fuck is going on. Cause that's not my jurisdiction. Once we were off the curb of school, yeah. Herbie: That's it. Shamus: So I go down there and there's this fired up little Hispanic dude and some older white guy. I guess he was grandfather picking him up. Yeah. And he was Your fucking daughter better or your granddaughter better, I'll beat your ass and I'll beat her dad's ass and blah blah and the guy was just like, Hey man, the old white guy, I'll give it to him. If you wanna go, we can go. Are you gonna keep talking or you wanna fight? So I was like, so I just stepped in between the two cars and I'm watching. Yeah. So the Hispanic guy looks at me and he was just like, Are you gonna fucking do something about this? And I was just like, Hey man. I said, you guys are on that side of the road. Yeah. I'm on the sidewalk. Yeah. So goes, You're not gonna do anything? I said, You really don't want me to, buddy. Yeah. If I have to come off this fucking curb, I'm gonna lose my job and then I'm gonna lose my mind. Yeah. I'm armed too, so I can't really get involved. So I said, But I'll do you guys one solid. I said, You know how embarrassing this is right now? And they both looked at me. I said, Her and her, because they were in the passenger passenger, both cars. I said, They're gonna be talking to school tomorrow because turn around. And when they turned around, all the kids were like, ⁓ and I was just like, they're gonna talk about this. Yeah. And they're not gonna be able to walk down the hall without being like, ⁓ you fan was crazy and bro. Yeah. I said, So can we be fucking adults? Yeah. Get in your cars, call the school, tell them you want to talk to the principal. Yeah. Make an appointment and come in and we'll address it. I said, matter of fact, when I go in, I know these two girls, I'm gonna address what the principal, so she'll probably call you tomorrow. This is no way to handle this shit in front of all these kids and students. It's true. And that's where like anyone goes like, Hey man, fuck you, man, man. Got in his car and ⁓ he got in his car though and left didn't he? Yeah. Herbie: Well it didn't it didn't sound like he wanted to fight anyway, he like running his mouth the old dude's like you don't want this smoke Shamus: ⁓ no, he didn't want any piece of that old dude. So But yeah, like just know the situation, know where you're at and it is things I I just don't understand. Things aren't really that crazy where you just need to fucking lose your mind. Yeah. Herbie: ⁓ like well it's ⁓ all right, all four of you listeners, if you guys have any similar situations or like ⁓ nightmare stories about like going to the DMV or you know the cable guy. Yeah. Cause even like there was ⁓ you know, you have stories like that, just you know, hit us up, let us know. We wanna hear some stuff, and maybe we could replies reply back in the mailbox. But there's also like those things now too, like if you have to call a certain company for like either a kind of help or anything like that, it just takes forever for you to be able to talk to someone. Because you have to press like dial in English, dial two in Spanish, dial three if you want to speak in Klingon, dial four if you speak Velociraptor. You know what I mean? You gotta go through all this other crap and you're just like, Can I just talk to a person to help me settle this problem? And I feel bad not just not just for us, like you know, younger people and and people our age, but also I feel bad for like the older generation. That doesn't really Shamus: No, don't get me started on that shit. ⁓ they ha they can't fathom the concept of any of this technology stuff. Yeah, 'cause then when they do get a handle of it, they're like, ⁓ your phone's gonna update tonight when you're sleeping and totally throws everything else off. Herbie: What? They're changing the situation of the buttons. Yeah, well I always I I always thought about that before too, 'cause working in in the hospital that I've sometimes had to like do process you know, like ⁓ g f have forms filled out from like the doctor's office to stuff like that. And there's always seems like the two major companies with with the offices and secretaries don't really want to talk to each other. They just you're you're the middleman. Shamus: Yep. Herbie: Of delegating your information, your faxes, your all that stuff. And I just feel bad because one, you're the customer. You really shouldn't be having to do all this footwork and legwork. I'm like, when did I am I part of the ⁓ the payroll now? Like this, you know, the phone call took about like an hour and a half for me to get to just even talk to someone. And even if you do get the voicemail, they're like, hi, I'm not available right now. If you leave your name and number and the reason you're calling, we'll give you a call back. So You you don't always get a response right away. You can get a response the next day or maybe the day or so afterwards. So your your s your your problem isn't being taken care of. You're still dreading to call anyway, and you don't have merely much time because you have to go back to work 'cause you have adulting to do. So you really can't s you know take a day off and be like, Look, I gotta call a couple of offices and make sure that the two offices that don't want to talk to each other use me to help them email everything. Because every time you say ⁓ we sent you the email and the other office says, Well, we didn't get it. And you have to call the office to let them know that we didn't get the email. I'm like, ⁓ can you guys email each other? Like businesses don't email each other for some reason when it comes to customers. They'll email the shit out of each other. ⁓ yeah, man. I'm like, Jesus Christ. But yeah, I I do. I like I I feel bad for like elderly patients that if they don't know what to do, you know, they they they're they're left behind because they really don't have anyone to help help them walk walk it through. Shamus: love the I love the ones that are just like you are number fifty eight in line if you would like please press one hang up and we'll call you back when we're ready. So you do that. So you don't have to wait in line. So you're doing stuff around the house. But then you leave your phone upstairs and you're like in the driveway. Yep and all of a sudden you hear like in the distance that brrrrike ⁓ shit and by the time you get to the phone it's like miss called you're like no we have to call and everything now you're caller one twenty six. If you want like a call back in four days you're like Herbie: Yeah, it's right. Yeah. Yeah. It sucks, man. And it like there's so many people that can work from home. So you can actually call someone that could be like the office person and like they're sitting there chilling in their pajama pants, having a a Dunkin' Donuts mocha coffee or whatever the frick like flavor they got out now and just chilling and not giving a shit while you're like you got your day off or maybe like you just got done work and you can't really have all this time to be running around doing all this clerical work for them. Shamus: Yeah, it's how it may Herbie: J it does. It sucks, man. I I I'm sure everyone just hates call even like just any type of business you gotta call or any like discrepancy with like a bill or anything like that. Or sometimes you can pay a bill and get a notification that the bill has not been paid yet and they keep harassing you about stuff and you're like, Jesus Christ, we're like, Well, we need to see the receipt or email us the receipt, you re you email all that crap and we still didn't get it yet. I I I don't understand how like these big businesses ⁓ have such a lag time in that type of response. You know what I mean? And it just it reflects bad because it's like you really do. And and and they're ⁓ but as soon as they mess up though, they're always willing to send you that survey. Like like we're shitty. We're gonna send you a survey. We're not really gonna help you. And it's just like but we'll we'll we're not gonna help your problem, but we're gonna the first thing we're gonna do is send you a survey. Shamus: Here's another thing about not last Christmas, the Christmas before that. It was like a day or two after Christmas. I had to go to Lowe's for something. And my nephew was home, so he went with me. ⁓ and they had like the end of the season sale on refrigerators. Yeah. I didn't need a refrigerator at time, but when you're selling like a $2,800 refrigerator, brand new, it wasn't like one of those ones that it was used and returned. It was twenty eight hundred hours and it was marked down to eleven hundred bucks. Stainless steel. Did everything had the window on it or ⁓ the thing on the inside. And I was just like, I'm gonna redo the kitchen in a year anyway. So let me just buy this now. So I buy it, I put it on my Lowe's credit card. get it home and I was like, you know what, let me put it in the room that we're in now. I had it over in that corner and I was like, I'll plug it in, I'll just use it like leftovers and all this other shit. And you know, beer. I have the ⁓ fridge in the garage for beer, but like it's the winter time. Who the fuck wants to go digging in the garage? So And I like, I'll just put it in here until I get ready to do the kitchen. Within three months it stopped working. Everything in it defrosted. Thank God it didn't have too much in there. Yeah. So I paid for the five year warranty. So you go online now. You don't even call anybody. You go online. And they're like, okay, ⁓ what's the problem? So you tell them what the problem is, and it's like, okay, we don't understand. Pick a and what they do is Lowe's doesn't send people out, they just hire local repair shops around here. They subcontract it out. So I picked this company, a guy comes out. ⁓ he was Yeah, it's a compressor shot. Yeah. I was like, it's fucking brand new. And he was just like, Yeah, sometimes it happens. So puts a new compressor in it, fires it up, it works. Three weeks later, same thing. It dies. But now this time, the first time the refrigerator part died. Right. ⁓ this time the whole thing died, the freezer and the refrigerator. So I hit ⁓ back. They call me. Lowe's calls me and goes, That's impossible. I said, What do you mean it's impossible? He goes, We just sent a tech out there and they said it's repaired. And I was like, Well, I'm telling you, the fucking temperature gauge on this thing says sixty eight degrees. Are you keeping milk in your refrigerator at sixty eight degrees, asshole? Herbie: I'm cooking eggs in this thing right now. It's an oven, not a not a Shamus: Trying not to, I didn't say asshole, but I was trying not to I'm like, listen, I'm telling you right now, it worked when he left. I didn't touch the thing. It just so they send a guy going another guy back out. Now he's an older guy. You can tell this guy's been on the job for a while. He's just like and I hear him because I'm in the other room doing something. I hear him going, these fucking idiots. I come around the corner and I was just like, Are you talking about my cats or he was like Herbie: Yeah. Yeah. Shamus: He's No, he's like the kid that came out here, I know who he is 'cause it says it on the call scene. He was like, These fucking young kids don't know what they're doing. And I was like, What's wrong? And he goes, Well, he was right about the compressor part. Right. But what he didn't look at was the shit that comes out of the compressor goes up a coil copper coils. Yeah. He said, and there's like two or three holes in that. Yeah. So that shit's been leaking. I'm like, Great. So I've got all this poison shit floating around the air in my house. Yeah. And he goes, Well, it's not as bad as it was in the fifties, but I'm like, ⁓ great. Herbie: Yeah, like Yeah. Shamus: He goes, but it burned out this compressor. Yeah. And I was like, okay. And he goes, And the coils are actually worth more than the refrigerators actually. So we're gonna DX it. We're gonna get you a new refrigerator. Yeah. I said, Well, okay. So the company sends a thing in and Lowe sends me a thing saying, Okay, here's an eleven hundred dollar not a gift card, but like I have an account there, like credit. So I'm like, Okay, I'll just use it to pay off the credit card. Yeah. Because I don't need a refrigerator, I'll just wait. So I go to pay it and it won't let me do it. So I call Lowe's credit. And the lady's Yeah, you can't do that. And I was like, but I paid for the refrigerator on my car. And she goes, Yeah, but you have to I said, I can't use my Lowe's card anywhere else. Right. So it's technically store credit. Yeah. So now I'm just paying interest on something I can pay off while you're it's just sitting there. Yeah. And she was like, Well, you're not gonna buy another refrigerator. And I was just like, After this phone call, I'm not buying another fucking appliance the rest of my life for Lowe's. Because I'm paying interest on something. I have the money sitting there. Like and she couldn't understand that. So I was just like, Whatever. I said, Well, who's coming to pick this up? And she was like, What do you mean? I was like, I have a brand new refrigerator in my house that doesn't work. And she's Well, when you buy another refrigerator, we have free removal. Herbie: So when you buy another one. Shamus: Fucking like and of course, me being the guy I am, I don't want to curse her out because it's not really her fault. Yeah. It's just store pie. And I was just like I said, well, listen, this call's reported, so ma'am, I'm just gonna make this statement. Anybody from Lowe's listen to this? I will never buy another big appliance from your store or any of your affiliates ever again. Thank you. And I just hung the phone. And of course, I got the survey. I got some representative from Lowe's email me, please respond to this. We want to talk to you. Bro, unless you come and get I actually called the one guy and I was like, unless you come and get this fridge, I ain't saying shit. Yeah. He just hung up the phone. So I still have this brand new broken fridge sitting in my sunroom. ⁓ my one buddy wants it because he was just like, I could turn it into a cooler, man. You turn it on its back with the doors and stuff like that. And I was like, All right, man, have at it. But like I said, I have eleven hundred hours sitting in store credit that I can't use to pay off my credit card that I can only use in that store. Herbie: Yeah it sucks though. So we gotta do buy like a pallet yeah, you're gonna like you're gonna use that store credit by a pallet of light bulbs. Shamus: Yeah, I don't I don't know. Cause then the lady was just like, Well use it by another fridge. I the refrigerator I bought was twenty six hundred. Yeah. Any refrigerate and if you know apply anything about appliances right now, eleven hundred hours doesn't buy you I was like, So I can't even buy like one of them white little dinky refrigerators you throw in somebody's shitty apartment. So Herbie: Yeah. ⁓ So they're like, Yeah, if you spend like three more grand, you can get a new refrigerator. Shamus: I don't know. I just don't understand why everything is so difficult anymore, why people are so shitty to themselves and why customer service is just Herbie: Yeah. And I think it is too, man, because every once in a while you get that one person at the job that really does care and you're so glad you got a hold of that person on the Shamus: Those are the people I vibe with. ⁓ yeah. 'Cause then you next thing you know you're having a conversation with ⁓ about stuff and dah da da and you're laughing and ⁓ yeah. Herbie: They take care of everything. They're like, look, this is it like I could see what they did with this and it you also hear like that's that gasp that they know that the job that they're doing is good, but every he they know that everyone else sucks. Shamus: ⁓ yeah. ⁓ I love that when you're recycled so and so from ⁓ aisle thirteen sent me up here. You said you can handle that. They just give you that look like these motherfuckers. All right, sir, what can I do for you? You know, they give you that Yeah, he's an idiot look, but I'll help you out. What do you need? So Yeah. And trust me, I've been that guy. Like some of the schools I worked at, some of the security guards I've worked with. Yeah. Like the principal be like, Yeah, I just talked to so and so about this and I'm like, Yeah, don't do that no more. Just come see your band. Come see your boy. Herbie: Do you you ever like that thing too, like, ⁓ my God, you can't go on vacation because people don't really know what they really do? Yeah, listeners, if you guys, if if you are that type of employee where like when you go away, there's a lot of stuff that just not does not go right as soon as you're gone and everyone's in a panic state. And or you might even have like your managers or supervisors text you. Shamus: ⁓ either that or thank God you're back. Herbie: Say, All right, what do you do? It's almost like what would what what would Jesus do if he was back, man? Shamus: Well that's what the one pair in the tabernacle is like. It's a good thing they don't have, you know, security officers there anymore. Yeah. State police covers it now. Yeah. They were like, 'cause there's nobody following your act. ⁓ that's it. You know what I mean? Like, when the one day I did take off at that school, they were just like, Don't you ever take off again. The guy they sent was retarded. The kids were out of their goddamn minds. So I can't imagine what it is. Like like if somebody walked in wearing the uniform I wore that it wasn't Mr. Buckcrack, ⁓ it'd have been a riot. ⁓ They'd have been throwing shit out like girl cheeses and peanut butter sandwiches at him Herbie: Open milks. We want the crack. Shamus: But yeah, it it it was like that ⁓ and and I I'm not the greatest. I I don't wanna sit here and say like I'm the greatest at everything I do, you know. But I do try, you know, to give my all. Like if you're paying me for a job, I'm gonna give you everything I got. And for people to go, Hey man, please don't take off again or could thank God you're back or you know, that kind of deal. Gotta fix everything. ⁓ Herbie: think you know what it is like with that type of ⁓ yeah not for nothing too 'cause I I've I've I've actually had that said to me about ⁓ from people working at the hospital. ⁓ thanks man. It's just Shamus: ⁓ there's no doubt in my mind you're that guy. I I especially the patients too. The patients probably thank gosh you're Herbie: I do get that. But I swear to god, not for nothing. Yeah, I will get like the thing. Like there's like there'll be patients that haven't been there for like a few years and I'm like, yo, is that little guy Herbie f still here? And they're like, Yep. Shamus: You're probably very ⁓ Yeah. Herbie: Send him to me. Shamus: Like I said, one of the guest speakers we had for orientation this year said, you know, if people can remember you, if kids go home that day and tell their parents, like, you know, Yeah. If you make it to the dinner table in the conversation, and in your case it would be patience and stuff, or like when they come back to the house, is Herbie still here? Yeah. You're doing the right thing. You're doing something right. So that's that's good stuff. Herbie: You're right, man. I I think it just boils down to really like personality. Not not only just like doing your job right, because I'm sure there's still a lot of people that take pride in their jobs. ⁓ but I think it's also about just like just being personable. You know what I mean? Cause even for me, whether working at a hospital, a lot of times people always well, you have like a script that you like kind of follow to be able to talk to people. I I I d I'm I'm I'm guilty of not following that. I just like being myself. And I think just being myself, I get better results and I I actually I feel better about myself because I think ⁓ patients already feel like shit anyway and they're scared. They don't know really know what's going on with stuff. Yeah. But if you can actually just talk to them like a person instead of just like not just like some kind of robot because you know the doctors and nurses and stuff like that, they do care. But of course there's a lot of times they they go through a a script, you know? Shamus: Well they have to for insurance purposes and all that shit like that. Herbie: But you know, when you get someone regularly talking to ⁓ regularly, like it's like it it kinda eases them and especially if you see them often, you can actually get updates from them, which is, you know, cool 'cause they they appreciate. They remember they're like, yo, I I appreciate you telling me some nice stuff before I was going into surgery because I I was nervous. And I said, I told you, man, I'll see you after work or sometimes you'll see you know, sometimes people that are going through some really hard stuff, man, and ⁓ a loved one in the hospital. And as long as you're kinda there to like kind of Either just give people their space so they can do what they have to do in order or just help them. You know, I've I've had people like running into the hospital not knowing where to go just to get to their loved one and I just find a way to like, you know, help them assist them and get the elevator and all that stuff to get ⁓ where the hell they gotta go. And they're still like, ⁓ thank you. I'm like, dude, don't even worry about You gotta go, dude. So I know, I'm I'm I'm glad I'm like we have that type of ability to be able to affect Shamus: Just go. Herbie: you know, children at at school and patients at at the hospital. But you know, there are there are the schmucks out there that work and and like to be butt faces. Not butt Mr. Butt Crack, but butt faces. And there's also like, you know, the customers that feel like a sense of entitlement to just be a complete shit to everybody. And unfortunately, like I said before, is I think the culture's been changed to where you get more satisfaction from the you get more of what you want. 'Cause the cus ⁓ the companies don't want to deal with that type of ⁓ energy. They just wanna give every you know, it's it's almost like giving candy to a screaming baby and it just it just doesn't help in in the long run because it just perpetuates that type of ⁓ you know, action. Shamus: Yeah, it doesn't cost anything to be kind of I worked my first well, it was supposed to be for I obviously the holiday weekend. Yeah. Our high school played Thursday night and we were home and I worked security and I was the guy on the gate where the visiting team comes in and out and stuff like that. ⁓ you know, as they were lining up to come into, they all stopped before they introduced the players and stuff. And like I just kinda turned around, I was like, Yo, good luck tonight, gentlemen. Have a great game and I and they looked at me like I was Herbie: Yeah, it doesn't. Shamus: Like this guy from a different high school is telling us to have a good game in their own side. Like so when they all went out, the one security guard like, Really, dude? And I was just like, Bro, at the end of the day, they're all teenage kids. Yeah. Like, you know, this might get them to college on an athletic scholarship. It's all sportsmanship. And one thing I will give that school where I'm at is that coach is old school. Like when a p one of their players got knocked down, our player would get up and walk over and help them up and stuff like that. ⁓ there was no real trash talk. Yeah. ⁓ you know At halftime when they were walking up, we were up by two touchdowns and I was just like, Yo, heads up. Keep them heads up, you're still in this game. You know. And then at the end of the game when they were walking off and they were I was like, Good game, you know, way to play tough guys, way to hang tough. You know, good luck the rest of the way and you know ⁓ and it doesn't cost me nothing to do that. And I'll never see those kids again. ⁓ They were they were from way south they were down near Atlanta City, whatever high school is down that way. ⁓ Yeah, and sometimes kids just need to hear that. Or people just need it. You never know what's going on in the minds of people. And like I said, that lady at D ⁓ V could have a ton of shit going on in her life too. And I I could too, but I'm not going to give you that. I'm going to give you, you know, hey, how you doing today? If you can help me with this, I'd really appreciate it. This is what they said. Da da da da. Ma'ams, I I I can't fucking stand when people are just like, Hey sir, how you doing? Sir, that was my father. That's my good. Look that old and Or ma'am. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Do I look that old? And I'm just like, it's force of habit and Yeah. Douchebag. Herbie: I mean some people I've I've had that said to me before too, but they say it more like a comedic way and I always like some kind of funny little retort back. But I I do know what you mean that Shamus: ⁓ I hate when you could say Sir, you know, ha or but when people get real some people get really pissed off at that. Yeah. Herbie: Like, all right, what do you want me to do, man? Shamus: Or yeah. Hey Mr. So and so. Mr. So so was my father. Call me Rick. I'm like, Don't you mean that's Richard, right? You mean Dick? Get the fuck out of here. Yeah. So but yeah. Doesn't cost anything to be kind. It just remember when you're talking to people, whether you do wear customer service or you're talking to customer service or anybody giving you some kind of service, be kind. Yeah. It doesn't cost much. Herbie: Mr. Cranium. Also c ⁓ I'm wanna s give a shout out to Diane and all them that are listen listen to the podcast on the rides to work and stuff like that. So I I appreciate you just listening and maybe like ⁓ understanding the same type of things 'cause you you know, you when you're going into work anyway, you're you're trying to put yourself in a positive mindset 'cause you know you're going into dealing with people. So Shamus: Yeah, and on the way home you try to decompress before you take that shit home. Yeah. Trust me, I like I said, I was in law enforcement, so I know all about it. ⁓ big shout out to everybody who's in public service or emergency services, the people at the ho the local hospital all the hospitals. Fire yeah, central firefighters, EMS, all those guys. I they you deal with some shit. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ no doubt. Herbie: You see some shit too, man. No doubt. ⁓ yeah. There's a sometimes every once in a while. I wish like on my days off I can just go to the ER when it's like, you know, the happy time with all all the ⁓ drunk people and all that stuff and just pull up a chair and a cooler and just watch the magic unfold. Shamus: I was gonna say and we're gonna wrap this up 'cause we're getting pretty deep into this. ⁓ I thought it was hysterical when I started working at the schools ⁓ because the teachers like I'm like, man, what the hell's going on? These kids are all rambunctious and they're all fire. They're like, It's a full moon. And I'm like, what? And then like I know some of the people in the hospital are like, ⁓ man, tonight's gonna suck. I'm like, why? I was like, it's a full moon. And then God forbid, yeah. Like just recently it was like the red moon or something. Like, ⁓ my god, it's anarchy in the streets all the time. Herbie: Yeah. Goddamn wizards are out now. Shamus: All the kids are like chilling the paint off the walls at the school and the the patients at the hospital are going nuts. All the crackheads just seem to rise up out of their coma's like Herbie: Yep. Channeling spirits are like Wing Guardium Leviosa. Shamus: I swear to Christ, as long as I've been alive, I've never been that dude to follow the moon phases up until last not just at the schools apparently. ⁓ Herbie: It makes complete yeah, definitely at the hospitals and stuff too, man. If they like the patients, there's some patients that can turn into the mentors and suck the soul out of your fa Shamus: It's like all the meth heads and heroin addicts and all that shit and Malholi get together and start doing the Michael Jackson thriller song through the town towards the hospital. And the kids are just like licking the lead paint off the walls at the school shit. Herbie: All the zombies are like, give me turkey sandwiches. Turkey sandwiches. Give me turkey sandwich and a free bus pass. Turkey sandwich. Jesus Christ, man. Ginger rail. And maybe some crack. Shamus: Shit, every because like the one day it was like Friday. And I was just like, ⁓ man, these kids are all worked up for the weekend. It's Friday. And the one teacher's like, no, it's the full moon phase. Yeah. I'm like. And you can almost hear in the background, like, ⁓ Fucking May. Yeah. Like it's not scary time. Herbie: Yeah, dude. Don't forget your silver. Yeah, well, the hospital, the only defense hospital. Yeah, man. The only deterrence of the hospital's guys like box turkey sandwiches, ginger ale, graham crackers, and Lorna Dune cookies, man. We just gotta distract them with snacks. Shamus: Yeah, exactly. And garlic to work tomorrow. Wear it around your neck. Yeah. At the schools are just like, man, you better put in an extra box of pizza crunchers. This shit's about to go down. Herbie: Let loose the uncrustable. Shamus: Keep feeding ⁓ until they pass out into a food coma. Herbie: That's what we do at the hospital too, man. Shamus: All right, everybody.
