- Chris Laker: I saw Jack White last night. He did a day of stub hub. A lot of times day of people trying to unload, price will drop. if it goes up because of demand, I don't go to a show. I cannot go to a show. I do that all the time. I did see if I had waited a few more hours yesterday, I could have saved another ten bucks, but I was okay with the price. Jack White's one of my favorite art. I I'll say that. I think it's not cool to say that. I don't care. I don't know if it's cool to say Jack White's one of my favorite musicians or artists or whatever, but he he is. Conan O'Brien loves Jack White. Well Conan O'Brien's like pretty old too. I don't wanna bore anybody who's not into Jack White with a bunch of Jack White stuff, But if you like Jack White, then you like him live. Because it's those songs and then they're being performed live. you're familiar with the idea of concerts. What am I even talking about? It was fun time. I go to sh some shows now like this one and I look around at the audience like wow this audience looks really old and I realized yeah the white stripes they got big in like two thousand and that wasn't that long ago. yeah it was. It was a long time ago. It was so long ago, two thousand. Can you believe how long ago two thousand was? I can because I was there. And when I think about that year, I'm like, yeah. What the f that's I don't even remember being that person. That was a completely different person Two thousand, two thousand one, something like that. Right before nine eleven. Fell in love with a girl, I think Yeah, nine ten. I'm listening to Fell in Love with a Girl probably. Time. You know how it is. it can be weird. Or not. I try not to get weirded out by time. Time tries to weird me out. I say, no, it's normal. I experience time the way you're supposed to. Accurately. I'm not like, this year went by quickly. No, it went by at the rate of a year. Exactly that. I experienced this year, this past twelve months, the same way I would have at any age. it took just as long as when I was five years old. and it feels just as long. don't even think about it. What year who cares? I don't want to slow down time. you know it slows down time having an awful year. Chronic pain. That'll slow down time. I'm good with how time's going. It seemed like long ago, but at the same time not. Isn't that crazy? Yes, it's crazy. yet we all experience it. So it's not cra I don't know what I'm saying. I'm just babbling before I get to the news because who really wants to read the news? Nobody. Not even the news people. They want to because it's their job, but do they really want to? Not really. They'd rather not be doing that. the news is there's a lot of bad news sometimes. And then I I'm telling you, now you associate the bad news with me. It's my burden to bear, and it's okay. I'm happy to do it. So I'm gonna get to the news now. US forces exit Iraq after two decades leaving opening for Iran. We're still in Iraq. Do you think George W. Bush sleeps well at night? I think about the things that keep me awake when I'm trying to sleep. I think about any little thing I I did wrong in my life and I'm man, why'd I do that? Why just a dumb thing I said one time or something like that will come up and be man, why'd I say that? I hate that I just said that. He invaded a country On false pretenses, well you know the whole story. I don't need to lay it out. He did that. This is all over WMDs and I thought we still there? I feel like there's gonna be another story we just left Iraq. And if we actually did really leave Iraq, don't worry, we'll be back again. Trial of Live Facial Recognition in London station ends with a false positive and no arrests. I thought they had facial recognition nailed a long time ago. In that movie Eagle Eye. That was a long time ago. That was like a two thousands movie, Eagle Eye, with you know, the guy. He's all weird now. Shire LaBeouf. Kept thinking Noah. apparently they don't have it nailed. I just thought they had facial recognition figured out and we're all being facial recognized all over the place. And apparently they do not, according to this story in London. They'll keep working on it, they'll have it figured out, and then we will all be scanned all the time. And won't that be good? Because then they'll know where we are all the time. we'll never be lost. New York Times executive fatally shot by his in laws in Bay Area Park, police say. Dude was murdered by his in laws in public. Now his in laws, they're both seventy seven and they fucking kill a man together. you shouldn't kill a guy. But that is a solid relationship. he was in the middle of a bad divorce with their daughter and there was some allegations of domestic violence or something they were mad. You're more likely to be murdered by somebody you know. Whenever you go to a family function or a party with friends and family, be armed. Take a weapon. Be ready. You don't know. This guy didn't know. He I'm safe at a park. They're old. No. This was reported by NBC News, I guess they shared the NBC News coverage because New York Times behind a paywall. One of their employees murdered. Let's make a few bucks off of it. University of Michigan, College of LSA pauses first semester pass slash no credit grading. Pilot program. This seems like school news, not Reddit headlines sorted by hot news. if you are going to University of Michigan, you can't do a a pass no credit semester because I don't know. They like grades, You're gonna get graded. I got graded in college. I didn't get good grades. The first couple of schools I went to. Here's a tip. You go to college, you get bad grades, go to a new college. Then you start over. You get the credits will still transfer, but your GPA does not transfer. Your GPA starts there. I failed out of two colleges. I went to four. And by the time I got to the last one, I did really well. It also took me about six and a half years to get a bachelor's degree, which is fine. Take your time. What's the rush? Four years? I changed majors too, and I took a break. There's a lot of things that went on. I had some issues at that time in my life, but I graduated and now my degree is useless. Concern mounts over a slow moving planetary scale Kelvin wave heading for California. The water's warming up. The ocean is gonna be rising here in California. That's why I don't live at the beach. I would love to live at the beach. to wake up, hear the ocean, smell it. It's nice. but if there's a tsunami, rising water levels, can't live at the beach. In my neighborhood, I figure I got till the ocean reaches Beverly Hills. Once the beach is at Beverly Hills, I'm moving. Man ordered released on bail after decades on Utah's death row after DNA tests show no match to him. This is why I'm against the death penalty, is because this dude got convicted in the eighties and is on death row forever. And he even says in in the story of this guy, there was a turning point in 2011. Dude's seventy he's like seventy something now, seventy-two. He could have been released in two thousand eleven. something's fucked up in two thousand already, twenty years almost in jail, this dude. And they say, the witnesses, they were bribed by the police and told to lie in court. okay. I guess that dude's gotta sit in jail for another fifteen fucking years. It's fucking gross as shit. not gonna give him enough money, whatever they give him. there isn't the amount of money in the world to make up for that. motherfuckers. DNA evidence now? they've been doing DNA since the nineties. this guy should own Utah. Zombified CDC hobbled by cuts struggles to fulfill scientific mission. one day we will have somebody in charge of health and human services who has some sort of medical background, some sort of scientific knowledge, I don't understand what they have against the C D C. all these people that are in charge right now, most of them are old, like really old. a lot of things could just knock them out. you'd think they'd be about taking care of diseases because they're afraid to die because they know they're going to hell.
