- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark Simone on sevent ten w R. Well, another freezing
- 0:08Speaker 1: cold data today. It's just I like to walk outside.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I like to walk for miles outside. But it was
- 0:15Speaker 1: not easy yesterday or today. You can hear. No, it's good.
- 0:20Speaker 1: You get used to it. It's a fun walking out
- 0:22Speaker 1: there in the cold. Your nose goes crazy and you
- 0:25Speaker 1: can't take anywhere. But and I saw Sean Hannity yesterday.
- 0:28Speaker 1: You know, he's in Florida now, but he came to
- 0:29Speaker 1: New York and they get that Florida look. He's got
- 0:33Speaker 1: that Florida look, which is like the perfect sun tan,
- 0:37Speaker 1: and you know they look more relaxed. I guess that's good.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't want the perfect sun tan.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I don't want to look that relaxed. I like to
- 0:47Speaker 1: have that New York you know, that freezing cold face
- 0:51Speaker 1: and uh yeah, all riled up, kind of New York attitude.
- 0:56Speaker 1: But he looked great, and of course you can him
- 1:00Speaker 1: here today three to six on WOR. Let's see now
- 1:06Speaker 1: in Chicago, they got snow and everything, so Ice agents
- 1:10Speaker 1: were there going after a dangerous criminal who's an illegal alien.
- 1:15Speaker 1: He got in under Biden and he was in fact
- 1:19Speaker 1: and the Biden reministration. They actually did have this guy
- 1:21Speaker 1: was so bad and such a criminal. They did arrest
- 1:24Speaker 1: him at the border and he had entered the country illegally.
- 1:27Speaker 1: This is twenty twenty three in the Biden years. But
- 1:29Speaker 1: the Biden deministration released them. They released them. They even
- 1:34Speaker 1: granted him temporary protected status. So he's a dangerous criminal
- 1:37Speaker 1: gang member. He's from that TDA trend to AGUAD. He's
- 1:42Speaker 1: a gang, I mean, the most violent, awful gang. He's
- 1:45Speaker 1: a member of the gang. So he's in Chicago. They're
- 1:47Speaker 1: there to arrest him. They got him on a traffic stop.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Ice was going to arrest the guy at this traffic stop.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So what he did was he smashed his car into
- 1:58Speaker 1: one of the ICE agency vehicles, which made it careene
- 2:02Speaker 1: into a tree. I mean, this is like a blue
- 2:04Speaker 1: Blood's chase scene. He then fled on foot after the crash.
- 2:10Speaker 1: ICE agents chased him. He barricaded himself into a stranger's apartment. Now,
- 2:16Speaker 1: if you didn't know, I think you could tell this
- 2:18Speaker 1: as a criminal. You know, normally on a traffic stop,
- 2:21Speaker 1: you stop. This guy instead drives his car right into
- 2:24Speaker 1: their car and makes him crash into a tree. He
- 2:27Speaker 1: jumps out of his car, runs runs into a stranger's
- 2:31Speaker 1: apartment and barricades himself in there. I think you can
- 2:35Speaker 1: be pretty sure this is a criminal. So ICE is
- 2:37Speaker 1: trying to go after this guy. But it's Chicago, and
- 2:39Speaker 1: a large crowd forms outside and starts throwing things at
- 2:44Speaker 1: the ICE agents start throwing rocks, snowballs, other projectiles. Well,
- 2:50Speaker 1: but you do have the police in Chicago that says
- 2:53Speaker 1: local police refuse to assist or do anything. That's Chicago
- 2:59Speaker 1: for you. This is the Democrats of today. And you know,
- 3:03Speaker 1: if that were your neighborhood, this guy's a may remember
- 3:06Speaker 1: the most dangerous gang. His behavior on a traffic stop
- 3:09Speaker 1: gives you an idea what he's like. Wouldn't you want
- 3:11Speaker 1: that guy removed from your neighborhood. Would you want him
- 3:14Speaker 1: to still live around the block from you. No, But
- 3:16Speaker 1: they're fighting the ICE agents to stop them from taking
- 3:20Speaker 1: this guy away. You know President Trump got you didn't
- 3:25Speaker 1: get the Nobel Peace Prize that he's so deserved, but
- 3:27Speaker 1: he got the FIFA World Cup FIFA Peace Prize. They
- 3:32Speaker 1: decided to award him one. That's nice, not for CNN.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Jake Tapper goes on CNN yesterday attacking, viciously attacking FIFA,
- 3:41Speaker 1: calling their peace prize a joke, ridiculous, it's not legitimate.
- 3:48Speaker 1: This guy, this Jake Tapper, who tries to occasionally pass
- 3:52Speaker 1: himself off as a journalist. He tries to pretend he's
- 3:54Speaker 1: doing some sort of a news show, going into a
- 3:57Speaker 1: tirade denouncing FIFA, attacking their peace prize. What does this
- 4:03Speaker 1: have to do with doing the news on CNN. I
- 4:05Speaker 1: don't know. But CNN is part of Warner Brothers and
- 4:10Speaker 1: Discovery at the company that's going to be taken over
- 4:13Speaker 1: by Netflix, but probably not. Netflix won the bidding at
- 4:19Speaker 1: almost thirty one dollars a share, which means it would
- 4:24Speaker 1: take over Warner Brothers, which includes CNN, includes HBO, includes
- 4:28Speaker 1: the biggest movie studio in Hollywood, all sorts of stuff.
- 4:31Speaker 1: But I don't think Netflix is going to end up
- 4:33Speaker 1: with it. I think this deal's going to fall through
- 4:35Speaker 1: and paramount the original bidder who had been too low.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I think in the end they'll end up with it.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I think they'll end up with it because Warner Bros.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Might have agreed to the Netflix takeover, might have signed
- 4:52Speaker 1: off on it, but that was the people that run it.
- 4:54Speaker 1: That wasn't the shareholders, and the shareholders are upset. They
- 4:58Speaker 1: felt it should have gotten a higher price. They still
- 5:00Speaker 1: think it should have been more like thirty five dollars
- 5:03Speaker 1: this year, not thirty. So they're pushing to have this
- 5:06Speaker 1: deal undone shareholders of a big say in this. President
- 5:10Speaker 1: Trump has indicated he'd rather have Paramount. He's close to
- 5:14Speaker 1: friends with the Paramount CEO, the Ellisons also friends with
- 5:18Speaker 1: the Netflix. But Netflix the bid was too low. They
- 5:22Speaker 1: may have to increase it, but it may also just
- 5:24Speaker 1: go to Paramount. They may end up taking it over. Now,
- 5:28Speaker 1: how can you do that when they already made an
- 5:29Speaker 1: agreement with the other Well, they would have to break
- 5:32Speaker 1: the Netflix agreement. And there's a penalty clause of two
- 5:35Speaker 1: point eight billion. But if Paramount agrees to pay the penalty,
- 5:41Speaker 1: then that solves that problem right there. And you're talking
- 5:44Speaker 1: about an eighty five billion dollar deal, So two point
- 5:46Speaker 1: eight billion is just a tiny percentage. So I think
- 5:50Speaker 1: they're going to think, I bet your Paramount ends up
- 5:52Speaker 1: with it. Now there's all fake news is going after
- 5:54Speaker 1: Paramunt saying they've made some sort of deal with Trump
- 5:57Speaker 1: promised to make radical changes at Sea. Well, first of all.
- 6:02Speaker 1: CNN is a tiny, little nothing part of this company.
- 6:05Speaker 1: It's not doesn't make any real revenue for the company.
- 6:08Speaker 1: It gets no ratings, it has no viewers. And by
- 6:11Speaker 1: the way, if anybody bought the company, the first thing
- 6:15Speaker 1: you would logically do is make radical changes. At CNN.
- 6:18Speaker 1: You'd look at it and say, wait a minute, you're
- 6:19Speaker 1: in last place and you have no ratings. Of course
- 6:22Speaker 1: you got to make radically. You can't do what you
- 6:24Speaker 1: can't keep doing what you're doing. You're in last place
- 6:27Speaker 1: and nobody's watching. You've got to make changes. So any
- 6:31Speaker 1: logical owner would have to have to make some changes there. Hey,
- 6:35Speaker 1: over at CBS News, they're getting rid of the anchors
- 6:38Speaker 1: on the nightly network News. It's Maurice du Bois and
- 6:43Speaker 1: who's the other guy, John Dickerson. Two nice guys. They're
- 6:46Speaker 1: very the competent, but they're not major league anchor people.
- 6:50Speaker 1: They're not you know, Brian Williams, they're not David mw or.
- 6:54Speaker 1: They're not in that league. Maurice du Bois with the
- 6:57Speaker 1: local channel two anchor John Dickerson is like a third
- 7:01Speaker 1: string face the nation kind of a host. So they're
- 7:06Speaker 1: gonna they've already picked a guy. It's somebody from CBS
- 7:09Speaker 1: News whose name I can't remember. He's on one of
- 7:12Speaker 1: day I think he's on the morning show. He's a
- 7:14Speaker 1: very good looking anchor. He said. I think they've decided
- 7:18Speaker 1: let's copy David Muir because that's the number one show
- 7:21Speaker 1: on television, the ABC Evening News with David Muir, number
- 7:25Speaker 1: one show in all of television primetime everything. Why, well,
- 7:30Speaker 1: it's different from the other evening news shows in that
- 7:33Speaker 1: it's slicker. It's really fast moving at disc keeps moving.
- 7:37Speaker 1: It's not that political. It's political, but there's a million
- 7:39Speaker 1: other things. It kind of looks like TMZ or Entertainment Tonight.
- 7:43Speaker 1: It really moves, and the anchor is just a really handsome,
- 7:46Speaker 1: good looking guy. It's very you know, slick. It's much slicker.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So I think they've decided to go in that direction.
- 7:52Speaker 1: So they got a new anchor whose name I don't remember.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I could look it up, but what's the difference. You're
- 7:57Speaker 1: not gonna remember his name either, but he looks very good.
- 7:59Speaker 1: He looks like David Muir. So they'll probably get some
- 8:02Speaker 1: producers in there, could make it faster, tighter, good looking anchor,
- 8:06Speaker 1: so the little copy, David Muir, that's a good idea.
- 8:09Speaker 1: It makes sense. Barry Weiss is now running CBS News
- 8:14Speaker 1: is going to slowly but surely change everything there. They're
- 8:17Speaker 1: going to change all the sixty minutes people. She wants
- 8:19Speaker 1: to get rid of what they call the programs older correspondence.
- 8:26Speaker 1: They're all like eighty five years old, so expect them all,
- 8:29Speaker 1: one by one to get taken out. Scott Pelly, Leslie Stall,
- 8:33Speaker 1: Bill Whittaker, so they'll all go. And now she's already
- 8:39Speaker 1: made a big higher ABC News Matt Gutman, you know,
- 8:42Speaker 1: the reporter Matt Gutman. She's very high on him. She
- 8:46Speaker 1: wants him to take quote a major role at CBS.
- 8:52Speaker 1: He'll be the new host of forty eight hours. Well
- 8:55Speaker 1: she hadn't said host, but she'll be the big part
- 8:57Speaker 1: of big star of forty eight hours. Noman's reporter with
- 9:01Speaker 1: a lot of experienced international correspondent, all sorts of stuff,
- 9:04Speaker 1: but his real thing is he's a crime expert, real crime.
- 9:08Speaker 1: And he hosted that podcast, True Crime podcast that was
- 9:13Speaker 1: top rated. And I think that's what she wants for
- 9:16Speaker 1: forty eight hours. You know when it comes to all
- 9:17Speaker 1: these podcasts, Well, now there's a million big podcasts, but
- 9:21Speaker 1: you know in the beginning, the biggest podcast where those
- 9:23Speaker 1: crime podcasts. Remember, that's what everybody would listen to. They
- 9:28Speaker 1: would tell you, well, you gotta listen to this. It's
- 9:29Speaker 1: a ten part series about remember the killing by the
- 9:33Speaker 1: River in Utah ten years No, I don't, but they
- 9:36Speaker 1: would listen to this ten part podcast on it. So
- 9:39Speaker 1: that's what this guy specializes in. She thinks forty eight
- 9:42Speaker 1: hours should be doing that. She's probably right. So he'll
- 9:47Speaker 1: be Matt Gutman of ABC News, big big, major hire.
- 9:50Speaker 1: But slowly but surely she'll change everything over there at
- 9:54Speaker 1: CBS and get rid of all those people over there.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Let's see the Ukraine. Zelensky says he is not interested
- 10:03Speaker 1: in giving up any territory at all. Well, that throws
- 10:06Speaker 1: a huge monkey wrench into the peace talks, because that
- 10:09Speaker 1: was the big part of it. Both sides have to
- 10:11Speaker 1: make some concessions. One is Ukraine would have to concede
- 10:15Speaker 1: a little territory, but uh uh, he says, absolutely no.
- 10:20Speaker 1: This is all probably just negotiating and in the end
- 10:22Speaker 1: you'll have to give up something. It's going to take
- 10:24Speaker 1: longer than we thought. A lot of people thought it
- 10:26Speaker 1: might get done by the end of the year. But
- 10:28Speaker 1: that's not gonna happen. Hey, Alina Habba has to step
- 10:31Speaker 1: down as the US attorney. You know the way this
- 10:34Speaker 1: works because you hear this all the time when the
- 10:37Speaker 1: fake news gets in the middle of it because a
- 10:40Speaker 1: Trump appointed judge ruled that, or the a Trump appointed
- 10:44Speaker 1: US attorney. Well, when you hear a Trump appointed judge,
- 10:48Speaker 1: it had nothing to do with Trump. He didn't know
- 10:49Speaker 1: the judge. He didn't pick the judge. What usually happens
- 10:53Speaker 1: is even with US attorneys, it's normally the case that
- 10:57Speaker 1: I mean sometimes Trump will pick a US attorney, you know,
- 10:59Speaker 1: like the district here in New York. But most of
- 11:01Speaker 1: the time when you need to pick judges or US attorneys,
- 11:05Speaker 1: the local senators, the state senators picked the person. The
- 11:09Speaker 1: two senators of the state, they recommend them the president
- 11:12Speaker 1: ninety eight percent of the time. The President goes along
- 11:14Speaker 1: with it. Very rarely do they object. It's called a
- 11:16Speaker 1: blue slip. The senators of the state have to pick
- 11:20Speaker 1: the person. So they didn't pick Alina Habba. The Senate
- 11:24Speaker 1: will not confirm her. That's why it's not going to work.
- 11:27Speaker 1: And Trump talked about this dumb blue slip thing they have.
- 11:30Speaker 2: You've got a blue slip thing. That's horrible. It's a
- 11:34Speaker 2: horrible thing. It makes it impossible to appoint the judge
- 11:37Speaker 2: or US attorney and it's a shame and the Republicans
- 11:41Speaker 2: should be ashamed of themselves that they allow us to
- 11:43Speaker 2: go on because I can't appoint a US attorney that's
- 11:46Speaker 2: not a Democrat.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean sometimes it makes sense because Trump wouldn't
- 11:50Speaker 1: know any of these people, and he's so far removed
- 11:52Speaker 1: from the state or whoever the president is. He's you
- 11:55Speaker 1: let the local people recommend. But it's a problem if
- 11:57Speaker 1: you got like a sleazy, slimy Chuck Schumer doing the picking.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Or look at Connecticut you got the two dirtiest, sleaziest
- 12:05Speaker 1: senators Chris Murphy and that lying rotten Bloominthal. Can you
- 12:09Speaker 1: imagine leaving up to them to pick a US attorney.
- 12:12Speaker 1: But that's the system.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I think I know why they did that, to protect
- 12:15Speaker 2: their ass Okay, and that's why they did that, But
- 12:20Speaker 2: it should be done away with. I want to be
- 12:22Speaker 2: able to appoint great that most highly educated, the most
- 12:26Speaker 2: respected people. They can't keep that Jebs.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yeah, no, he may be right. That's why they always
- 12:31Speaker 1: are careful who the senators want to pick it. They
- 12:33Speaker 1: pick somebody they know who will never come after them,
- 12:36Speaker 1: and that's the idea. So fake news goes after Alena
- 12:38Speaker 1: hobbit This is there's no experience, he's never been a prosecutor. Never. Well,
- 12:42Speaker 1: that's pretty normal for US attorneys. Remember Chris Christy was
- 12:46Speaker 1: the US attorney. He'd never been in the court room
- 12:48Speaker 1: in his life when he was appointed US attorney. Never
- 12:52Speaker 1: wasn't a prosecutor when he was appointed. He's a big,
- 12:54Speaker 1: big campaign donor in Bundler. So as a reward, they
- 12:58Speaker 1: made a US attorney with no experience as a prosecutor.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Haba was a major partner to major law firm where
- 13:04Speaker 1: she did it was civil litigation, but a lot of
- 13:07Speaker 1: that was about white collar crime, fraud, that sort of stuff.
- 13:10Speaker 1: So Haba actually qualified. Yeah, Alena Habba says she's stepping
- 13:14Speaker 1: down as US Attorney for the District of New Jersey
- 13:16Speaker 1: after the courts disqualified her.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Do you have any comment on that? If she's got disqualified,
- 13:21Speaker 2: you've got a blue slip thing. That's horrible. It's a
- 13:24Speaker 2: horrible thing. It makes it impossible to appoint a judge
- 13:27Speaker 2: or US attorney. And it's a shame, and the Republicans
- 13:31Speaker 2: should be ashamed of themselves that they allowed us to
- 13:34Speaker 2: go on.
- 13:35Speaker 1: You know, fake news does that a lot if they
- 13:37Speaker 1: don't like so if they don't like Pete Hagsith, you
- 13:39Speaker 1: hear that a lot. And he was never qualified to
- 13:42Speaker 1: be Secretary of Defense. You hear these senators, these low
- 13:44Speaker 1: lifes on these talking heads. He should have been a
- 13:48Speaker 1: point in the first place. He had no qualifications. He
- 13:51Speaker 1: has more qualifications to be Secretary of Defense than half
- 13:54Speaker 1: of the secretaries of Defense we've had. Many of them
- 13:57Speaker 1: had no experience. You know that Chuck Hagel was congressman
- 14:00Speaker 1: all his life and less aspen. He was a college
- 14:04Speaker 1: professor when he was appointed secretary to most of these
- 14:08Speaker 1: secretary defenses don't have a lot of exits. Had a
- 14:11Speaker 1: lot of military experience when he got appointed. So Matt
- 14:17Speaker 1: Lower wants to more talk about this comeback than Matt
- 14:20Speaker 1: Lower come back. Now he's apparently it's the girlfriend pushing this.
- 14:24Speaker 1: The girlfriend is also a publicist, so she wants him
- 14:28Speaker 1: to come back. And since she's a publicist, she knows
- 14:30Speaker 1: how to plant all these stories, all over the place,
- 14:33Speaker 1: trying to engineer this comeback, come back for what. I
- 14:36Speaker 1: don't know what. He's going to come back to the
- 14:38Speaker 1: Today Show, I don't think so he can't take him
- 14:40Speaker 1: back there. I mean, it's a cuomo trying to make
- 14:43Speaker 1: a comeback. You left in disgrace, you left under a
- 14:46Speaker 1: cloud of terrible scandal, and in the case of Matt Lower,
- 14:50Speaker 1: it was real scandal, real sexual harassment stuff, real problems.
- 14:55Speaker 1: So who's going to bring him back? And for what reason?
- 14:58Speaker 1: You know, you know, if it's like Lewis c k well,
- 15:04Speaker 1: you know, there's the reason to bring him back. Guy.
- 15:07Speaker 1: The guy was funny. He was really funny and a
- 15:09Speaker 1: lot of stuff, had a lot of talent. So maybe
- 15:14Speaker 1: he's a question mark on this guy, but boy was
- 15:16Speaker 1: he good. Let's bring him back? Or Kevin Spacey, you know,
- 15:19Speaker 1: why would you bring this guy?
- 15:20Speaker 2: Well?
- 15:20Speaker 1: Because he was pretty talented. Watch him in what's the
- 15:23Speaker 1: TV show? He did House the Cards or other stuff.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Guy's really talented. No, let's maybe you bend the role
- 15:30Speaker 1: that we'll bring him back because he's really talented. In
- 15:32Speaker 1: case of Matt Lower, you can't say he's really talented.
- 15:36Speaker 1: He's I mean, he was a pleasant guy. He was
- 15:39Speaker 1: nice looking. You know, he's older now, he's not so
- 15:42Speaker 1: hot looking anymore. And he's basically he would read the teleprompter.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I mean, he's not a talented guy. I mean, there's
- 15:49Speaker 1: no Matt Lower videos going viral because he was so brilliant.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I mean, to bend the rules for him, I don't
- 15:56Speaker 1: think so. I don't know. We'll take some calls in
- 15:59Speaker 1: a minute. Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
- 16:02Speaker 1: is the number. Oh, we'll get to Frank Sinatra coming up,
- 16:05Speaker 1: but we'll take some calls next. Eight hundred three two
- 16:08Speaker 1: one zero seven ten
