Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, December 21st.
• 0:11
Unshakable hope. Have you ever wanted something
• 0:14
so badly it started running your life like it's the first thing
• 0:17
you think about and the last thing you scroll for?
• 0:19
More attention, more money, more approval, more control.
• 0:23
Proverbs chapter 30 verse 15 paints that craving like a Leech
• 0:26
with two daughters named Give and give.
• 0:29
And it says some things never say enough.
• 0:32
That's what chasing the world feels like.
• 0:34
It keeps asking for more, but it never actually satisfies you.
• 0:38
Now listen to the contrast in Psalm 146.
• 0:42
It says, put not your trust in Princess, in a son of man in
• 0:45
whom there is no salvation. And then blessed is he whose
• 0:48
help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God.
• 0:52
People can inspire you, trends can hype you up, and even your
• 0:55
  own feelings can feel convincing.
• 0:57
But none of those can save you. They can't hold your soul steady
• 1:00
when everything shakes. That's why Psalm chapter 16
• 1:04
verse eight hits so deep. I have set the Lord always
• 1:06
before me because he is at my right hand.
• 1:09
I shall not be shaken, not I might not be shaken not I'll be
• 1:12
fine if life is easy. No, I shall not be shaken.
• 1:16
That's unshakable hope. And Acts chapter 2 shows us what
• 1:20
that hope is built on. Jesus, Peter tells the crowd,
• 1:23
God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you
• 1:27
crucified. And then he says repent and be
• 1:30
baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the
• 1:32
forgiveness of your sins. That's the turning point.
• 1:36
Real hope isn't a vibe. It's not a motivational quote.
• 1:39
It's a person, Jesus, Lord, and Christ, Savior and King.
• 1:43
When you stop chasing what can't satisfy and you turn toward Him,
• 1:46
you don't just get a better day. You get forgiveness, a new
• 1:49
start, and a foundation that won't collapse when life gets
• 1:52
messy. Setting the Lord before you
• 1:54
means you're choosing Him as your focus, your anchor.
• 1:57
You're enough. Let's pray, Heavenly Father,
• 2:00
show me where I've been chasing things that never satisfy.
• 2:03
Help me stop putting my trust in people, approval or temporary
• 2:06
stuff and teach me to place my hope fully in You.
• 2:10
Thank you for Jesus, Lord and Christ who forgives my sin and
• 2:13
gives me real life. Help me set you always before me
• 2:17
so I won't be shaken. In Jesus name, Amen.
• 2:21

Proverbs 3015 to 17 World English Bible The Leech has two
• 3:37
  daughters. Give, give.
• 3:39
There are three things that are never satisfied. 4 That don't
• 3:42
say enough. She all, the barren womb, The
• 3:44
earth that is not satisfied with water, and the fire that doesn't
• 3:48
say enough. The eye that mocks at his father
• 3:51
and scorns obedience to his mother.
• 3:53
The Ravens of the valley shall pick it out, The young eagles
• 3:56
shall eat it. Psalm 146 World English Bible
• 4:00
Praise Yah, praise Yahweh. My soul, while I live, I will
• 4:03
praise Yahweh, I will sing praises to my God as long as I
• 4:07
exist. Don't put your trust in
• 4:09
Princess, in a Son of man in whom there is no help.
• 4:12
His spirit departs and he returns to the earth.
• 4:15
In that very day his thoughts perish.
• 4:17
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for His help, whose hope
• 4:20
is in Yahweh, His God who made heaven and earth, the sea and
• 4:24
all that is in them, who keeps truth forever, who executes
• 4:28
justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry.
• 4:31
Yahweh frees the prisoners. Yahweh opens the eyes of the
• 4:34
blind. Yahweh raises up those who are
• 4:36
bowed down. Yahweh loves the righteous.
• 4:39
Yahweh preserves the foreigners, He upholds the fatherless and
• 4:42
widow, but He turns the way of the wicked upside down.
• 4:45
Yahweh will reign forever your God, O Zion to all generations,
• 4:50
praise Yah. Psalm 16, eight to 11 World
• 4:53
English Bible. I have set Yahweh always before
• 4:56
me because He is at my right hand.
• 4:58
I shall not be moved, therefore my heart is glad and my tongue
• 5:02
rejoices. My body shall also dwell in
• 5:04
safety. For you will not leave my soul
• 5:07
in Sheol, neither will you allow your Holy One to see corruption.
• 5:11
You will show me the path of life.
• 5:12
In Your presence is fullness of joy.
• 5:15
In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
• 5:17
Acts 222 to 39 World English Bible.
• 5:21
Men of Israel, hear these words, Jesus of Nazareth, a man
• 5:25
approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs,
• 5:28
which God did by him among you, even as you yourselves know him,
• 5:32
being delivered up by the determined counsel and for
• 5:34
knowledge of God. You have taken by the hand of
• 5:37
lawless men, crucified and killed, whom God raised up,
• 5:41
having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not
• 5:44
possible that he should be held by it.
• 5:47
For David says concerning him, I saw the Lord always before my
• 5:50
face, for He is on my right hand that I should not be moved.
• 5:54
Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced.
• 5:57
Moreover, my flesh also will dwell in hope, because you will
• 6:00
not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy
• 6:04
One to see decay. You made known to me the ways of
• 6:07
life. You will make me full of
• 6:08
gladness with your presence. Brothers, I may tell you freely
• 6:12
of the Patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and
• 6:16
his tomb is with us to this day. Therefore, being a prophet, and
• 6:19
knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit
• 6:22
of his body according to the flesh, he would raise up the
• 6:26
Christ to sit on his throne. He, foreseeing this, spoke about
• 6:29
the resurrection of the Christ, that his soul wasn't left in
• 6:32
hades, and his flesh didn't see decay.
• 6:35
This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses,
• 6:39
Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having
• 6:42
received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he
• 6:45
has poured out this which you now see and hear.
• 6:48
For David didn't ascend into the heavens, but he says himself,
• 6:51
The Lord said to my Lord, sit by my right hand until I make your
• 6:55
enemies a footstool for your feet.
• 6:58
Let all the House of Israel therefore know certainly that
• 7:01
God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you
• 7:04
crucified. Now when they heard this, they
• 7:07
were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the
• 7:09
apostles. Brothers, what shall we do?
• 7:12
Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized everyone of you in
• 7:16
the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you
• 7:19
will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
• 7:22
For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who
• 7:25
are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to
• 7:29
Himself. Thanks for joining us on Bible
